- 0:00Hi, friends. You're listening to lose the
- 0:02plot with color and Emily in this episode.
- 0:04We are reading the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo by
- 0:08Taylor Jenkins, read warning, there will be spoilers.
- 0:25I'm Carla and make them pay you what?
- 0:28They would pay a white man. I'm Emily.
- 0:32And I don't think I could handle one husband, let alone.
- 0:34Seven, I picked this book and I had no idea about it because I
- 0:40never look into books too much. Yes, I want to be surprised.
- 0:43I personally probably wouldn't pick it but I loved reading it,
- 0:47so it's fun. You like I like I was surprised
- 0:52surprised. The main character is Monique,
- 0:58she's a journalist. Yeah, she gets word from her
- 1:03boss that one of the greatest movie stars of all time, once
- 1:07her to interview her and only her, and only her, only her,
- 1:11just like what the heck. And she's trying to wreck her
- 1:13mind about how could this lady want me specifically?
- 1:17She's a bottom tier writer. She doesn't get a lot of
- 1:20writing. Mmm.
- 1:22She doesn't do celebrity piece. Is not there.
- 1:24She's does a bit of research, even tries to ask your mom.
- 1:27She's like, is there any connection?
- 1:29Because it's no idea. Well, her dad used to work in
- 1:32the movie Biz a little bit back in the day, but that's about it.
- 1:35So she's just like, what the hell but whatever goes along
- 1:39with it meets up with her that would be so intimidating.
- 1:43I guess I'd be terrified Evelyn doesn't do interviews and hasn't
- 1:49for years yes she doesn't want to do them.
- 1:52She doesn't talk about a Well life, and she's kind of retired
- 1:55from the show business life. Yeah, she 79.
- 1:58Yes Point. Yeah, she's kind of old.
- 2:01She's old. She's done.
- 2:02She's happy. And she thought she was going to
- 2:04interview her about how she's donating a lot of her.
- 2:08Her seven drechsel items. Yeah.
- 2:10Yeah. All of her.
- 2:11Really nice dresses. Yeah charity.
- 2:14So she thinks it's going to be just a small boring piece.
- 2:17Yeah. And her boss is like trying to
- 2:19get something juicy, try and get some info about her life I
- 2:23guess. Seven husbands.
- 2:24Mmm. Yeah, because she has been so
- 2:27elusive, no one knows anything. And the only things that people
- 2:30do no other media reports that were, sometimes manipulated very
- 2:35that she was very Gossip, Girl, lie to you, they were very
- 2:38Gossip Girl. Yes, I know and they were from
- 2:40like the 50's and it was amazing how they can insert a little bit
- 2:44of a media report and it would sound very XOXO Gossip.
- 2:47Girl, it was so good though, I love those bits.
- 2:51Yeah, they were great. So what are we Ink of Monique.
- 2:54I guess I was the main character.
- 2:55We, she's not really amazing. I don't think she's.
- 2:58Yeah. I gotta she's the vessel.
- 3:00She's the supporting me. She only gets very little bit.
- 3:03It's told through her. I suppose, as she's got a very
- 3:07sad depressing life was so this. Well, personally she's just
- 3:13going through potential breakup with her husband and her little
- 3:16side journey is pretty much her finding that she doesn't need
- 3:20her husband, she finds out through Evelyn to Yeah, well,
- 3:24everyone, just comes into her life, like a complete wrecking
- 3:26ball. I know, it's fucks everything up
- 3:28kind of thing. Very own brand.
- 3:30Yes, exactly. Her personality type, but she
- 3:33comes in and then she's practically like, okay, I want
- 3:38you to write my biography. Yes, and she's like, what the
- 3:41hell? And she's like, it's going to be
- 3:42worth millions and millions and millions.
- 3:44Let them pay you what? They would pay a white man for
- 3:47it. Sort of that, get everything you
- 3:48want out of it. She's confused.
- 3:50Oh, I love how many can actually cause other start.
- 3:53She's Of me, kind of normal, whatever.
- 3:55And then she all of a sudden boss, bitches up.
- 3:57Yeah, to her boss. This is her growth if you get
- 3:59very small parts of her, but it's worth it.
- 4:01Oh yeah, it's good. Then Evelyn's like, yeah, don't
- 4:05worry about your magazine that you work for and she's like,
- 4:08Evelyn, I kind of need to have a job.
- 4:10I need to work. Yeah.
- 4:11I need to feed myself basically like so quit even.
- 4:16Put some still gives her. No little crumbs.
- 4:18No. Nothing.
- 4:20No. And she kind of said, she just
- 4:23it'd need To be you or no one kind of thing and my necks just
- 4:26like and then is this a bit much, but also has an audience
- 4:30knows that there's going to be something down the track.
- 4:32There's going to be some connection, gobble it up.
- 4:34Gobble. Gobble gobble, we're just
- 4:36sitting there like, Lulu, there's going to be something I
- 4:38wasn't confused about where the book was going.
- 4:41But, you know, I was just so confused that a, yes, well, I
- 4:44had no idea. That was the thing at the end
- 4:46that blindsided me, because I had no idea, I'd go that way.
- 4:49So, it was a well-done twist. It was, I love how she is.
- 4:54She was already really nervous to meet Evelyn because obviously
- 4:57she's is a list of yeah, from way back.
- 5:00As soon as she gets to her house and her house Keepers there.
- 5:04Would you drink a coffee? You're probably going to shit
- 5:06yourself. She's already like would, you
- 5:15know, you probably going to shit your pants on everyone.
- 5:17You guys couch. That's probably bills it.
- 5:21She wouldn't even mind. Well, she'd be there for.
- 5:25I feel like she would be there for that so far in chaotic is
- 5:30chaotic and I don't know whether I love her.
- 5:32I hate her. She's so polarizing.
- 5:36Even when she was younger, she had an ego just her whole life.
- 5:40She's like, no. This is just what you do.
- 5:42You just use people and she just had the thirst.
- 5:45No. But she needed that though
- 5:47because she was, like, sexualized from like 13.
- 5:50And she's like, I'm getting out of Hell's Kitchen.
- 5:52If I ever go too far, Like if I'm going to get sexualized,
- 5:55it's going to benefit me. And only me, only me and I'm
- 5:59going to be rich. I'm going to be effluent famous.
- 6:04Well, it didn't hurt that. She was breathtakingly.
- 6:07Beautiful. Yes.
- 6:08The author's definitely leaned into people like Elizabeth
- 6:12Taylor with the multiple multiple husbands.
- 6:15Yeah. And also a lot of the actresses
- 6:17that they did have to in ways change their ethnicity.
- 6:21Yeah. So she change her eyebrows.
- 6:23And completely, I had to defile. The book is entirely based on
- 6:28the misogyny racism, sexism problem.
- 6:32Yep. - I really like the fifty sixty seventy eighty s.
- 6:36Yeah. And before, and it's very
- 6:39stereotypical Hollywood and racism to.
- 6:42Yeah, definitely gives you an idea of how things were back
- 6:46then. Yes, actually, I wouldn't.
- 6:49It wouldn't go well for anyone to be like that now, but it was
- 6:51very was a hairy I don't even think it was hairy.
- 6:55Oh maybe Harry. That was like you won't get the
- 6:57part because you're Cuban. Yeah, it might have been.
- 7:01Well yeah, he was pretty straight up with her all the
- 7:03time at the start of the book. I was like, okay, okay, we get
- 7:06it, they kept going on, we get it Evelyn's a gilf.
- 7:09I think every time she like farted, it would be like thought
- 7:14just wafted through deliciously blond locks.
- 7:17Look at what the fuck. We get it.
- 7:20He's guilty. She's the hottest person on the
- 7:22planet. We getting old Kitty.
- 7:25I know gravity is not holding them down, gravity.
- 7:28Did not even touch them. So they were past but I was
- 7:32already getting like hos ready. Getting you bashed about how
- 7:35beautiful this woman is I'm like we get it.
- 7:37That's files a little bit confused and start and I didn't
- 7:40think I was gonna like it. But yeah, it's just like a drag
- 7:43for the first part which is mine.
- 7:45I get it. Yeah, but you need it there for
- 7:49it to all make sense and it's so annoying.
- 7:52Well, it's sort of Set you up for what you thought was going
- 7:55to be different book. You know, way because life was
- 7:58just full until dawn, Apple life was going exactly how she
- 8:03wanted. And she's super assertive super
- 8:05where she described what she wanted.
- 8:07Yeah, nothing went bad. So it's really interesting,
- 8:10Monique and that initial meeting she was like dropping and
- 8:13staining, she don't like those look like is that much and I
- 8:18didn't care the like whatever, but she's literally me just
- 8:21dropping him because he's going Dropping and Stadium.
- 8:25Ouch. Everybody trusts Evelyn no
- 8:29Angelina Jolie like later. In life came up to you and said
- 8:32you're going to do my, whatever wall.
- 8:34I would think I was going to be a sacrifice.
- 8:36I got naughty naughty naughty. Once we establish that my next
- 8:45gonna just get down her Memoir and everything, she's like,
- 8:47okay, I'm just gonna do it. We start getting the whole full
- 8:51life story from Evelyn's perspective, That's why
- 8:53Monique's, not really the main character.
- 8:55So we start off with Annie, who is?
- 8:58He's, like, 21 I think, yeah, when she meets him, but she was
- 9:04her to get out to get out of Hell's Kitchen, and she married
- 9:07him very quickly, and she was 14 14, and she told him she was 16.
- 9:13She's like, I'm getting the fuck out of here, but her dad, signed
- 9:16the papers. So he kind of suspected.
- 9:18My didn't say anything about it either.
- 9:21It's a relationship like with her dad.
- 9:23He was abusive, so getting our town was her keeping her safe
- 9:28from like right, dad, taking advantage of her.
- 9:30That's where she thought I was going to go, right?
- 9:33But it's interesting that he signed the papers.
- 9:35Yeah, because I wonder maybe he was just like one less mouth to
- 9:39feed. But yeah, so she saw this guy.
- 9:41She's just like, this is my chance and isn't it?
- 9:44Because he had some work in? Yeah, Hollywood sort of thing.
- 9:47Yeah. And she was just like, yeah,
- 9:48this is my chance. He makes money for her to go to
- 9:51school and Him to work and then to eat properly and have new
- 9:56clothes, but she never went to school anyway.
- 9:58She spent her entire time out like Anodyne.
- 10:01ER, waiting for people. Yes.
- 10:03Yes. That's right.
- 10:05And so, she married this Ernie Diaz guy, right?
- 10:08Yes, she just married him with so quick on the marriage.
- 10:11Yeah. On every single person, I know
- 10:14this is not a, I was being nice marriage.
- 10:16The only way to God, I was thinking, why is marriage only
- 10:21PR move? What's that?
- 10:23The only PR move back in the day.
- 10:24Do we not just date people for fun.
- 10:26Now, don't you? Just date Pete Davidson.
- 10:29It's a realtor than your PR is like we call.
- 10:32That was probably Rex North. I reckon, ha ha ha, isn't that
- 10:37hilarious? Like what that you had to go
- 10:39through that back then and that got you in the papers and that
- 10:42made your movie Cell? That's so terrifying.
- 10:46But it I guess it kind of happens.
- 10:48You know? Like PR relationships.
- 10:49Yeah. Have a pair people to make it
- 10:51look like they're a couple for. Happens all the time time.
- 10:54Yeah. But you don't go through with
- 10:56the marriage us. There's some of these marriages
- 11:01where I was like, why you immediately deciding dude, that,
- 11:04I mean, we'll get to them, but some of them I was just
- 11:07straight-up. Like, why Ernie makes sense.
- 11:09Okay, yeah. He was at the ticket out.
- 11:11He was a ticket out and the ticket to become an adult to be
- 11:15able to do what she wants and if fourteen-year-old pretending to
- 11:19be 16, but then married. So you get more privileges when
- 11:22you're married, I guess. Yeah.
- 11:23She used that opportunity to get really small little extra
- 11:27background. Rules and stuff.
- 11:29And she was hanging out in that Diner, trying to meet casting
- 11:32directors. Producers, don't yell at me
- 11:34about whatever. She wasn't a very good actress.
- 11:36Yeah, she's just one whatever. She just wanted it bad enough.
- 11:40I believe this is where she meets Harry.
- 11:42I'm almost sure its yeah, yeah. It's pretty early on.
- 11:46He's just shocked by how pretty. She is.
- 11:48And then next thing you know, she was in Parts.
- 11:51Yeah. She got signed to sunset sunset.
- 11:55Yeah. And Harry was kind of because he
- 11:57was a producer He got her. Not like he didn't get her
- 12:01roles, but he helped ya career. Basically, she used is so gross.
- 12:07She uses re re used her, I suppose.
- 12:10Hmm him being a pedophile. Hmm, to get a kick out of her
- 12:14and then, yeah, it was to start. Yep, that's how she cast in a
- 12:18proper role. Yes, she sold her body to this
- 12:21pedophile. Yeah, which I'm sure that would
- 12:23terrify me with a not terrify. You probably she doesn't care.
- 12:27She was Like, I don't even like what's happening in the SEC.
- 12:30She's like, I'm just going to use it as a stepping stone to
- 12:33get what I want. Yeah, she can care.
- 12:34She's not really participating. She was like, whatever I'm here.
- 12:40Which is, she was, technically married until I'm surprised.
- 12:43They didn't use that when she was getting like black bold
- 12:46against the studio. Hmm.
- 12:48Well, he wouldn't have said anything because then he admits
- 12:52to being a pet owner and he probably had a wife.
- 12:55Yeah. So So when Evelyn was 18, she
- 13:01met Don Adler yet, who is a very handsome up-and-coming movie
- 13:06star? Basically Rich family also works
- 13:08at Sunset. Yes.
- 13:09She was such a baddie because she told him to change his eyes
- 13:14if you want to date me. You need to change your day.
- 13:16Yeah, it's not a waste. It was not an if not was
- 13:19well-liked, you tell me right now.
- 13:20Yeah, because he said I've got a date lined up with this other
- 13:23girl after their first date and she was like, if you want to go
- 13:27on a second date, Me, you're not gonna go on the state.
- 13:30Yeah. And he promptly changed it.
- 13:32Yeah, very quickly. And this was the first time she
- 13:35actually had a reciprocal feelings for a guy.
- 13:37Yeah, ever. Yeah, she loved on.
- 13:39She was like, he's hot. She's attracted to him.
- 13:42She actually wanted to have sex with him.
- 13:44He had a good time. I think they went out and like
- 13:46partied. Yeah.
- 13:47They had fun though, compatible? Yeah, which was shocking to her?
- 13:50She was like, I never thought sex could be enjoyable or
- 13:53anything. Yeah, which is really wild but I
- 13:55guess it makes sense being 18. I mean he showed her the huge
- 14:01engagement ring before hand and then you got to double-check
- 14:05these things age and he just says I'm not proposing to you as
- 14:08in. I'm not proposing to you and
- 14:09then she got confused and thought he wasn't proposing at
- 14:11all and she's getting pissed at him.
- 14:13Yeah. And then he's like, I just need
- 14:16to know that you're going to say yes.
- 14:17When I do it in front of other people, I went after it was the
- 14:19first red flag. I'm not a hundred percent said,
- 14:22no, I would have said yes. And then wait till the public
- 14:25and also Sky would have skyrocketed career.
- 14:28Her saying no, to Don Adler on the red carpet, I would have
- 14:32been beautiful. If we didn't even wrap up, the
- 14:34only Diaz ocean. He's such a like it's nothing,
- 14:37it doesn't even matter. It's just a stepping stone.
- 14:40So what happened with him was she got bigger parts and then
- 14:44she was just like, right? That would like, you need a
- 14:46date. Someone like brick Thompson,
- 14:49will totally, she just left him. Yeah, she was like, bye.
- 14:52And she's like, I'm Gonna Leave You and you just cry.
- 14:54Devastated little baby. Cried about it.
- 14:56Yeah. He was like, I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 15:00lose my life. He got married had a million
- 15:03grandchildren, it's fine. He's good and he lived out his
- 15:07days. Yeah, happy.
- 15:09So anyway, back to Dawn would ye say yes to a red carpet
- 15:12proposal. That's embarrassing.
- 15:14But to her, that was probably the best thing ever.
- 15:17She would eat it up. Oh yeah, leave no crumbs should
- 15:21have said no, she said. Yes, because she was in love
- 15:24with him. No, I just think it would be
- 15:25funny. Oh yeah, yeah, that's
- 15:27embarrassing. Sing to him the fact that he had
- 15:30to ask beforehand though, shows that just insecure so he would
- 15:33have not, that's so funny. He would have held that against
- 15:36you for ever so gradually their relationship worsens because she
- 15:42finds out Don's actually bit of a piece of shit as much their
- 15:46working, life Riser. His ego takes a dive because
- 15:50he's a shit actor. Well yeah, he starts making some
- 15:54bad decisions. Sad movies.
- 15:56Yeah. When he gets Pressured.
- 15:58He takes it all out on her. Yeah, and he starts shoving her
- 16:01and hitting her and he becomes a pattern and then he apologizes,
- 16:05and then she gets raped in yet. She does love him.
- 16:08So then she forgives him and she just goes her analyst cycle.
- 16:13Yeah, it's pretty bad. I love how one day for her.
- 16:17I think it was the first day of filming for Little Women.
- 16:20You made her a half, a grapefruit and a lit cigarette
- 16:23and not. So famous artist of kind of
- 16:25practices that and she loved We love a low-maintenance queen.
- 16:30What is what even is that? It's like a one cent breakfast.
- 16:33That's what it is. But imagine back in the day
- 16:36because smoking was encouraged to keep weight off.
- 16:39Yeah, and it would have worked. So if I go back and watch old
- 16:43school Hollywood movies, those women were encouraged by
- 16:46nutritionists no less at the time doctors.
- 16:49And when we, it's so funny because when we get further into
- 16:52the book, when she's with people that love her, yeah, they don't
- 16:57give a grapefruit and cigarette. So make a full-blown light up
- 17:00eggs, bacon toast oatmeal, they're feeling and they make
- 17:04sure if he's fat Read every single.
- 17:05Exactly. But isn't that kind of like a
- 17:07French breakfast? Isn't that very Glam?
- 17:10What is it? I think so.
- 17:12I'm surprised she didn't Gigi hadid's mom like, oh my God.
- 17:26And then the point of contention was also that he wanted to have
- 17:30a baby immediately. Yeah.
- 17:32And he was into it, he wanted to be a dad and he wanted to be
- 17:34This PR perfect family. Yeah, and she was like, I'm
- 17:37really trying to focus on my career.
- 17:39Like I'm trying to break out, she was still 18, she was still
- 17:4218, she was not ready. And he was pressuring her he's
- 17:45like no. I'm gonna look like a simp if
- 17:47you don't. Yeah, but he was so mad because
- 17:49he didn't want her to do better than him of course.
- 17:52So he just wanted to not lock it down.
- 17:54They have the tall, poppy syndrome.
- 17:57Majorly bad. Yeah, so he was trying to lock
- 18:00her in and keep her barefoot and pregnant at home so he could go
- 18:03off and become The All-American, you know, move.
- 18:06I started just ended more badly and he just became a worse
- 18:09actor. Well, I guess back in my day if
- 18:12you look like a family man in probably be good PR.
- 18:14Yeah. Like all the grannies would
- 18:15Swoon but they are also great for father does nothing has a
- 18:22cigar when the baby's born pushes her and the baby girl
- 18:26says so her idea is to fake a miscarriage which is really sad.
- 18:31That should have to go to that. Yes sir.
- 18:35Weeks she yelled at her maid to get out because she was covered
- 18:39in bruises from him. And instead of I made being
- 18:42like, Oh my God, she's covered in bruises that were like, she's
- 18:46bad to the help. She's like, out here.
- 18:49Yeah, trying to ruin Don's life. And yeah, the misogyny, but they
- 18:54knew that that made would leak the story.
- 18:56So they used it to their advantage.
- 18:58And at this time, Evelyn was making friends with Celia st.
- 19:02James, yes. Her name.
- 19:05Very movie star named very movies because they met working
- 19:08on Little Women together. Yeah.
- 19:10She helped concoct that idea of the miscarriage.
- 19:13Yeah, I think in a way. So clo was an up-and-coming and
- 19:17she was taking the Limelight from yes, 12 because she was
- 19:21more talented. She's better at acting, but she
- 19:23didn't have more star power. Yeah, and she was a bit naive,
- 19:26Evelyn just like red heard of Filth.
- 19:28She's like, you're too naive. You've got to get what you want.
- 19:31You've got to use people properly.
- 19:32And don't be dumb about it. Yeah.
- 19:34Don't say sorry. Yeah and don't be guilty and I
- 19:37was like damn that's why I'm going Evelyn's just like she's
- 19:40too much. She's a roller coaster.
- 19:41Yeah I know she just steamrolls everyone and everything.
- 19:44Yeah. She's either super loving more
- 19:46too chaotic. I know, I know and it was
- 19:50interesting because they were spending a bit of time together
- 19:53and it's so funny because the media would report, oh no,
- 19:56Evelyn's out with single girl, Celia st.
- 20:00J know what are they getting off to?
- 20:02And they were like, well danzo All at home alone.
- 20:06I'm so excited. I felt like why is Evelyn Hugo
- 20:11hanging out with Celia st. James, and having cocktails, and
- 20:15going out and dancing and wants to know.
- 20:17Will you marry me? And she's like, 80 that yeah.
- 20:20Like she can't be over 20 and they're literally going.
- 20:23Oh, no, don't harm it. Sad crying because she can't
- 20:27have a baby and it's like, wow, wow, don't worry about having a
- 20:30million Affairs fucking everybody.
- 20:33Anybody with a pulse. Besides, he's probably gonna
- 20:38illegitimate children coming out every class to the next item.
- 20:41They struggle is everywhere. I looked a medic tri-axial 20
- 20:462000 at this point. I was like silly is so gay for
- 20:51Evelyn. Oh, I know I called it from the
- 20:53very beginning but it was kind of obvious.
- 20:55Yeah, because of how much she had are.
- 20:58Just the way it was described, it is very easy to tell ya and I
- 21:02was just interested to see what would happen because I thought I
- 21:04was like, is she gonna say something and get rejected?
- 21:08Yeah. Aggressive Harry being Evelyn's
- 21:13friend, is to me the love stories.
- 21:16This book I know where he's the greatest person in this entire
- 21:20book. I feel like they're soul mates
- 21:22in a way. They are soul mates.
- 21:24So being best friends, this whole time, he's been through
- 21:26her whole career and Harry is gay, and they have that
- 21:30understanding of she's so loyal to him, she would never out him.
- 21:34She had Yeah, she knew she never asked, she could have added him
- 21:38at any time because she's that personality where you'd have to
- 21:43trust her. You know what I mean?
- 21:44Like she can use anything to her Advantage so I don't think there
- 21:47was ever a point when she did that to people.
- 21:49She was so chaotic. I know.
- 21:51But she never use like their secrets against them not people
- 21:54she liked. Yeah, I don't think Evelyn is a
- 21:58bad person at all. I think she's very focused, very
- 22:02driven, I think. Yeah.
- 22:04I think she just wanted to live her life her way and I can't
- 22:07really fault someone for that my community.
- 22:09If you can, why not? Yeah, okay.
- 22:13So the things in the marriage between Evelyn and Don start
- 22:16going really downhill. This is just an abusive asshole
- 22:19and she's kind of like holy shit.
- 22:21I've got to get out of here and I guess her friends helped her
- 22:24realize that she shouldn't have to put up with that anymore.
- 22:27And then she went to a party and found out.
- 22:28He was just actively cheating on her at the party but she's that.
- 22:31Yeah, I think that was the final straw that were and she was
- 22:34already. Be in love with Cecilia to.
- 22:36Yeah. Yeah she already decided that
- 22:38that's where she wanted to be. Yeah.
- 22:41So it was kind of will didn't wasn't it at that party that
- 22:44Celia tried to kiss her but they did KISS.
- 22:46Yeah. So they kissed and then she was
- 22:48like wait what? And she realized she had all
- 22:50these feelings for her and she was like, odds kind of legit
- 22:53real? It's not just some yeah, I don't
- 22:55know and then she found out that Don was having sex with a girl
- 23:01upstairs you know? And she never Didn't think that
- 23:05he was having Affairs but it was never confirmed with her either.
- 23:09Yeah. And she kind of low-key thought
- 23:12that she could trust him. Yeah I suppose if you're so in
- 23:16love with someone and he's also like abusing you, you're not
- 23:19going to think he's going to have that time.
- 23:21I chose for other people. Yeah.
- 23:24It's and they will working like 24/7 but also he's at a party
- 23:28with her. So it's not like it really
- 23:29matters and he's a movie star. So girls.
- 23:31If you just flocking to him somehow, I Guess.
- 23:34Yeah, after that. I'm actually surprised because
- 23:37Don just let her have the house, it wasn't that he let her have
- 23:41the house. It was he was using that as a
- 23:44way to get out of his abuse. Yeah, but I'm, he was buying her
- 23:48out, but if he was fully abusive, he would have just
- 23:51taken it. Not if you're a movie star,
- 23:54because you need to look really good in practice, you know,
- 23:56going to take her and have letter have nothing true.
- 23:59Yeah. I just think he wasn't fully
- 24:01Petty about it. Like he could have been worse.
- 24:03So I was kind of in Rest. Yeah, which is funny because I
- 24:06was like, I'm kind of surprised that he didn't either sleep.
- 24:09Idioma, he probably wanted to go for petty.
- 24:11I reckon he did and they were like, maybe not because you
- 24:13don't mind. The biggest douchebag who when
- 24:16they could instead make her look really bad.
- 24:19Well, to be fair, they were already ruining her career.
- 24:22So he blackballed her from the studio and Future movie
- 24:25projects, and everywhere he's got huge influence, so he would
- 24:28destroy her career. So I think the house was kind of
- 24:30like a fullback, like, at least you have somewhere to live.
- 24:34And worst case you can sell the house and become a normie.
- 24:36And now, we know that Evelyn was never going to become normally
- 24:39ever. She worked harder than ever, but
- 24:42he couldn't. He, pretty much could have
- 24:43effectively ended her career. Yeah, and he pretty much tried
- 24:46to. Yeah.
- 24:47So I think that's was where his pettiness was because he knew
- 24:49that she didn't care about needing the Mansion.
- 24:52He knew that she would care about losing her career.
- 24:55Yeah. So he kind of hit her where it
- 24:57hurts. It was funny.
- 24:59She was out in public with Celia somewhere and she just grabbed
- 25:02her hand and then I'm sort of looked over, and she freaked out
- 25:06and like dropped it. And the homophobe, like, I'm not
- 25:08judging how scandalous scandalous feel like it wouldn't
- 25:11be as bad for women, but maybe back then and it was as well.
- 25:1450, 60. So how are you sensually
- 25:17holding? Someone's hand?
- 25:19I don't know. It was pretty loving.
- 25:21It must have been the vibe at the time because I mean you can
- 25:24hold your friends hand and no one's going to fucking think
- 25:26anything of it. If it's just a moment like that.
- 25:29But it was it was just funny in the book of like, wow.
- 25:31Okay. She's just partied too hard.
- 25:34Water. Well a whole entire gossip
- 25:36column came out of it and they like how close is too close
- 25:41that's being yeah. And looting that they gay?
- 25:44Yes it's like okay well I mean they were they were but I mean
- 25:49in the back in the day they would have like one black and
- 25:52white picture. Yeah.
- 25:53Whatever as a Paparazzi photo. Yeah, he's taking these pictures
- 25:57and this camera would have them to take a photo of them out in
- 26:00public together. One of those big box, one thing
- 26:02they have to have the big guy. Really truly you can hear.
- 26:07So they have their first, I guess in a way break up there,
- 26:11so they like stay together while she's getting divorced and then
- 26:15they have sex for the first time because they all decided that
- 26:18this is it. If I'm using everything, they
- 26:21were doing really, really well. And then she that concert they
- 26:25were out, was some meat guy and she slept with him to get their
- 26:29name out of the press. See, this is where it all goes
- 26:32wrong. I mean, Communication is key and
- 26:35not to be in. Everyone's life, doesn't really.
- 26:38She thinks that everyone runs on her moral compass, and she
- 26:41doesn't consider that considering their relationship
- 26:44is Loki. Fresh, yerin is same-sex
- 26:47relationship for the first wool Evelyn's first time?
- 26:50Yeah, so it's kind of like, don't you think you should talk?
- 26:53And she never talked about her former partners about decision.
- 26:56She was making. So she kind of just assumed that
- 26:59she could get away with it. Yeah, and then, when they were
- 27:01this big conversation, she was like, oh, it's implied.
- 27:03That I was going to It wasn't employed anywhere.
- 27:06She comes up with these schemes and then Implement them.
- 27:09But then does she talks you through this games?
- 27:11You like, yeah, well, this makes a lot of sense but also he
- 27:14doesn't beat Justin the fucking and she was kind of going in on
- 27:18Celia even though silly had every right to be mad.
- 27:20Yes. Till he's like, hold on.
- 27:22I thought you were gonna fake date.
- 27:23Someone will get buried. See, this is where it all goes
- 27:28wrong. Hey, this is the only time it
- 27:30matters. Yeah, exactly.
- 27:32So she was like I'm just gonna get with this guy and do a
- 27:36whirlwind Vegas quickie wedding. Yeah, wedding.
- 27:40Why does it always have to be waiting bitch?
- 27:41Why can't you just get drunk and throw up and publicly think what
- 27:45about like? Yeah.
- 27:46What exactly, that would be the Scandal, isn't it?
- 27:49He's out, why do you have to go through with the paperwork like
- 27:52doing Playboy, shoot? Who knows?
- 27:54I finish a marriage. Metal is getting married, but
- 27:58imagine you've only just started this relationship and then your
- 28:01partner. Who's barely?
- 28:03Even you part. Yet.
- 28:04It's like, you know. What's going to help?
- 28:06I'm just going to go get quickie married.
- 28:07I'm just gonna getting married is just gonna send the Press
- 28:09into a wild storm, but then again, it's all the attention on
- 28:13her. Yeah.
- 28:14But the problem was Celia's, career was going up again,
- 28:18Evelyn's was Dunst acted Dawn. Yeah, if stagnant, so she was in
- 28:22the in-between phase, it's probably more for her benefit
- 28:26than it was for their relationship because and boosted
- 28:29her back up again. Exactly.
- 28:31I just think it's funny how the solution was always to have
- 28:33another The beard. He was like, cool.
- 28:35Let's just throw another beard into the mix.
- 28:37That'll fix everything like, yay.
- 28:40I thought the three it lasted a day they had sex.
- 28:44She wasn't participating in the sex so he got over it and was
- 28:47like, well, this is really bad. She was bad on purpose and then
- 28:50he agreed to get annulled. But then she was like, I think
- 28:54it might be his King to reject people.
- 28:57Yeah, well, yeah, because he would have loved.
- 28:59He had a big ego so it worked out every everyone.
- 29:02Loved the idea of Hold on until they had which is very Marilyn.
- 29:07Monroe Vibes? Yeah.
- 29:09Like when you built up to be a sex symbol says in-laws.
- 29:12Sorry much. Yeah, so much pressure, then to
- 29:14be that little when you just want to leave and he just wanted
- 29:19serious roles to she just and she didn't enjoy sex with men
- 29:23who she wasn't in love with Yahweh.
- 29:27Okay. There was like, probably two
- 29:28times she's ever enjoyed sex with men.
- 29:31Yeah. So she's probably not even so
- 29:32she hated it I know which guy was.
- 29:34She small lesbian than by number three, Mick, Riva.
- 29:41He had to be number three. Yeah.
- 29:42Any yep. So make was the quickie Vegas
- 29:46annulment. He announced to everyone that he
- 29:48would marry her. And she Celia was like, bro.
- 29:51You can't just fuck some kind of tell me.
- 29:54Yeah, and the by Celia fanned out was her being pregnant.
- 29:58Yes. Yeah, go.
- 30:00Evelyn was even gonna say anything.
- 30:02She's not gonna say a word. And then the thing is also,
- 30:06everyone mentioned mix. Not the kind of guy who's going
- 30:09to wear a condom. She said that.
- 30:11Yeah. What if he had some kind of STI
- 30:15either? And then she's asleep in with
- 30:16Celia. No big deal the next day or
- 30:18whenever you know they used to shove a lemon like skin up there
- 30:23whoo-ha for what a preventative? Yeah.
- 30:26Back in the day they used to put like as like a.
- 30:29Yeah. So just hope that it's acidic
- 30:31enough to ward off the gonorrhea.
- 30:34Or whatever. I mean, I want to be on her way
- 30:37to go if she was going to get out of it.
- 30:38But yeah. But I mean how do you not how
- 30:41you that dumb that you don't think your partner deserves to
- 30:44know? I think she's so clueless
- 30:46because it was like she was reading said, okay?
- 30:49It was like she was so in love with her but was treating her
- 30:51like any other men at the same time, just so weird.
- 30:54I know is very weird her entire, like I mentioned before her
- 30:57entire PR strategies is. Let's marry nails.
- 30:59Do that will fix everything she had to be at least Twenty-One.
- 31:04Yeah. But don't you think?
- 31:06That would look bad to keep marrying people.
- 31:09That's the point. But I mean, I guess that's a
- 31:12little work. I can't think of anything more
- 31:14embarrassing than getting married, you know, if that was
- 31:18nowadays, no one would be able to afford to do that, many
- 31:21marriages, and that many divorces because you can't have
- 31:23your assets. Each time, that many sides by
- 31:26this is why so expensive, exactly, it's and be too many.
- 31:31Imagine all the spousal support if she broke up with bums, She
- 31:36would have nothing left, she nearly did get done for spouses.
- 31:38Yes, husband number 666 shark God.
- 31:46So they, they probably broke up over that.
- 31:49Yeah, because she was kind of, like, wow, you fucking lied to
- 31:51me, which kind of makes sense. Sorry, I missed a little bit.
- 31:54The bit where Eva link is the TV when Celia one the authenticity
- 31:59of. Yeah, and she was blackballed so
- 32:01she was at home. Oh my god.
- 32:02Really saddest thing I've ever heard.
- 32:04Yeah, that was Funny though. But anyway, that was before the
- 32:08break-up. So for come imagine after a
- 32:11breakup you're only able to use gossip magazine articles as way
- 32:16to Facebook stalk. You're right.
- 32:18Ha ha ha. You have to wait like six months
- 32:20to find it come out and then you're like, oh, cool.
- 32:22My exes married. I guess again?
- 32:26No. But like, Celia go married to
- 32:28some guy. Yeah.
- 32:29Or was in a relationship with some guy serious?
- 32:32And she only found out about it through a gossip magazine
- 32:34article, XOXO. The ghost girl.
- 32:36You'd be like, what? Like her entire time through
- 32:39this argument do with Cielo was she would never love a guy and
- 32:43get a guy. So I'm not long after she's like
- 32:45a married to this quarterback. Oh, like anyone couldn't get
- 32:50married to a guy. If anyone knows that it should
- 32:53be Evelyn that is. And also it's kind of funny
- 32:57because Evelyn sort of tried to use Celia's lesbianism against
- 33:02her, a lot, as if she was better than her because she's By
- 33:06ignoring, it was both ways because she used to use her
- 33:10being by against her. Yeah.
- 33:12She'd be like, yeah. So that both do it and they both
- 33:14do it. They'll both horrible to each
- 33:16other, about asexuality Celia was jealous of men with Evelyn.
- 33:21And Evelyn was jealous of women with Celia.
- 33:24She was never jealous about men because she knew that she was a
- 33:26lesbian. My full-blown Celia always
- 33:29sexualize her as well. So every time she was mad at
- 33:31her, she'd be like just get your boobs out.
- 33:34Yeah, it was just I bribed the PowerPoint bad for each other.
- 33:38They were a bit toxic but also they were young at the time I
- 33:42suppose. Yeah, bit jealous.
- 33:44Yes. Oh, Celia got engaged to some
- 33:46dude. It was in the magazines and that
- 33:49was the only way Evelyn found out but Evelyn and Celia that
- 33:53both very stubborn. So whenever they're not talking
- 33:55to each other, they do not reach out.
- 33:57Yeah. And it's not like it's months in
- 34:00like you, it was like five years.
- 34:02Yeah, by the time they reached out to each other again, I know.
- 34:06It's wild. Harry has all of the tea at all
- 34:10as all of the and he gives away nothing.
- 34:12I know pisses me off. It's great.
- 34:16Oh yeah. So the best bit will not the
- 34:18best fit but they are good. Beard was finding out that Harry
- 34:21was actually dating Celia's husband.
- 34:24Oh no, no, I remember that's how it worked out.
- 34:29He's just like, was, she's a, why wouldn't you say that
- 34:33earlier? You what your best friend in?
- 34:35Pain. I don't know if maybe he didn't
- 34:37want to help the guy fair enough, but then Harry kind of
- 34:41suggested. Why don't me and you get
- 34:44married. Yeah.
- 34:46Evelyn and then it's a perfect cover will be like double dating
- 34:50at all times. Where there's another husband in
- 34:53there? I think so because I don't think
- 34:55it was this footballer, dude. I think later on they actually
- 34:59Implement later, I need to look it up.
- 35:02I know who could be this to me, husband and I we had Rex North
- 35:07next. We had decided after a before
- 35:10them being in a foursome before, huh?
- 35:12Okay. Yeah.
- 35:13All right. So they've been broken up for a
- 35:15while. They're not really talking to
- 35:17each other. Yeah, and then of course Evelyn
- 35:21solution is to just get married to someone else.
- 35:23Yeah. Because well, no one was really
- 35:25thinking that they were gay together.
- 35:27But didn't want article came out that said Celia's car was always
- 35:30in Evelyn's house. Yeah.
- 35:32So she was kind of freaking out a bit.
- 35:34She might have pulled a new car. Yes.
- 35:36Shitty brown cow hours. Yeah.
- 35:37And no one thought I would think about it.
- 35:39Yeah. Evelyn's like if I just want to
- 35:42have a complete PR only Contract Marriage.
- 35:45Yeah. And this guy Rex North was the
- 35:48perfect one. Yeah.
- 35:49To do it because he was already like he was famous enough.
- 35:53Yeah. And he lived this bachelor
- 35:56lifestyle. Anyway, he was known for
- 35:58sleeping around. So same thing, if anything Mac
- 36:01being married to her, would look good to him.
- 36:04Yeah. Because then he's the guy that's
- 36:05got the most beautiful woman. Yeah.
- 36:07And they kind of made an arrangement.
- 36:09Like it's going to be an open relationship.
- 36:12We're only in it to be married on paper, which is just a nice
- 36:15light on two opposite ends of the house.
- 36:17Yeah, there's not much to do like they didn't do much and I
- 36:22think really see the point apart from making her look good.
- 36:25Well, it wasn't that To him. I think they were married for
- 36:28like, 23 years to, huh. That was a very eventful was
- 36:34that did, isn't that the one that she kind of thought he was
- 36:37attractive? And they might sleep together
- 36:39because he's pretty hot. Yeah.
- 36:40And then she rejected him. Yeah, she rejected him and was
- 36:43like, we definitely never sleeping together.
- 36:45Yeah, and then he got his ex-girlfriend pregnant.
- 36:48Yes, that's how that ended. That's how that ended that was
- 36:51awkward. So is PR for about three, four,
- 36:53five years compared to like the three years being with Someone
- 36:57and having a weird Contract Marriage.
- 36:59So he comes up to her one day and says, are I'm in love.
- 37:02And he didn't expect it and just like, with who and he's like,
- 37:05with my eggs. Yeah, yeah.
- 37:07Another actress. Yeah.
- 37:08So he and he got her pregnant. Yeah.
- 37:10And then they had to scheme again.
- 37:13Again, a way out of it. It's always lies.
- 37:15This is how Harry comes into being her vien?
- 37:18Yes. Yes, it was great because they
- 37:20decide to use Harry as the one she's cheating with.
- 37:24She's like, no one's going to believe you, because a lot of
- 37:26people I'm gay. Yeah and then yeah that's the
- 37:31start of where it gets good only yes packet.
- 37:34But can we talk about the cheating set up?
- 37:37It was so funny. So they're like we've got to
- 37:39make everyone look good in this scenario.
- 37:41So again we'll just make everything look like a cheetah.
- 37:44Yeah. And that you were so in love
- 37:46with Harry and then it'll make it okay that this Rex guy had a
- 37:52baby with his ex, she always took all the hits.
- 37:54So I know every single one One. No wonder she's a bit crazy.
- 37:59Well I guess she kind of liked Rex enough to be like you
- 38:02deserve to be happy. And we don't want this to make
- 38:04you look like a cheating skull because you're going to be a
- 38:06family and she typically always look bad anyway.
- 38:10Yeah. So she's like, whatever.
- 38:11And so they set it up so that Paparazzi will come find them in
- 38:14a car making out. Like, she's trying to give him
- 38:16tips and he's like I know how to make out.
- 38:18He's like I've kissed him before girl please it was a journey,
- 38:23the journey towards my being gay, I feel like you only get
- 38:25one chance to get a shot. With old-timey cameras.
- 38:28So imagine them coming around the corner.
- 38:30Like the paparazzi come around, they interact, big-ass box
- 38:33camera. She had to call her Nemesis
- 38:36Ruby, who ended up marrying, Don Adler, yes, set it up and then
- 38:40chap ROTC would believe it. And then she divorced on that
- 38:43like anyway, because he was abusive and she's like, why
- 38:45didn't you tell me you? And everyone's like, a fuck?
- 38:48I probably shouldn't. She's like, I didn't even think
- 38:51she's like I, you know, he was cheating on me and then she's
- 38:53like, oh, not that not the cheating, yeah, other stuff.
- 38:57Maybe she was so like a no one, but it's weird because you're
- 39:00not obligated, but then how else do you tell?
- 39:04Ya, you know what I mean? Because it could have ended up
- 39:06worse for her again if she called go right.
- 39:09Yeah, exactly. She can't go around when she's
- 39:10ready to be black bold and then tell everybody that Don Abdullah
- 39:14is an abusive, you'll get completely.
- 39:16It was in destroyed while it was in her contract that she was not
- 39:19allowed to say it. Yeah.
- 39:20So she's got a, she did an NDA and that's was part of I guess
- 39:24having the house. Yeah.
- 39:25And then he tried to do that to Ruby.
- 39:27And she was like, fucking are you're on the outs anyway?
- 39:29No one wants to watch you on TV. Yeah, exactly.
- 39:31So he came out of it, fine? Yeah.
- 39:35It highlighted how women had to make up excuses for men and
- 39:39just. Yeah, especially back in the
- 39:40day, but people still do it. Now, you can't go around
- 39:43telling, oh well comes from somewhere.
- 39:45You can't go around saying someone's an abuser now because
- 39:48people will be like, oh, that's defamation even if it's fully
- 39:51true. Yeah, which is ridiculous.
- 39:53I've watched it, and watched it happen in public and they're
- 39:55like, I don't believe it. Yeah, exactly.
- 39:59So it's not I mean it's not that different it's just these people
- 40:02had a high-profile so when Harry suggested they actually get
- 40:06married in a like a platonic marriage.
- 40:09Yeah, it made a lot of sense because our best friends
- 40:12shouldn't trust him ages ago and she should have never left him.
- 40:16Yeah, I'm so mad. They should have just stayed
- 40:18married. Yeah.
- 40:20They were in such a happy relationship.
- 40:22They were living together. Oh well, they weren't living.
- 40:27You have that they would swap. So how are you would stay at
- 40:29John's house? He and then they would stay
- 40:31everyone and Celia. I would say at her house.
- 40:34Yeah, so how did they read Kindle?
- 40:36I guess I don't think relationship.
- 40:39She kind of said on TV or something.
- 40:42I don't know. It was like, what time?
- 40:45Number two, there was like, five times.
- 40:47They were candles in the house. There was true, proper times
- 40:50they rekindled, but I forget who apologized to who kind of thing
- 40:54they came back together in the foursome and then I were
- 40:57stronger than is this the one where they were on TV like on
- 41:01their little speeches? They were trying to give each
- 41:02other hints and she was lying to the person watching at home.
- 41:06If you want to kiss it TV, don't you tooth or something?
- 41:09Again maybe. Yeah, but they don't know.
- 41:12They got back together, things were apparently Gucci.
- 41:15They were all in for some in there.
- 41:16Like, this is perfect. We're all beards for each other.
- 41:18We can all go out together Doubleday.
- 41:20Yeah, they were all too weird. They're all family like a loving
- 41:24family. Yeah.
- 41:25Which is weird in today's standards.
- 41:27But back then, that was probably the best I could ever get.
- 41:29Yeah, they can't. Just go out on their own as a
- 41:31couple. Yeah.
- 41:33Back in the day, being famous as well.
- 41:35Meanwhile, and probably even a little bit before that
- 41:38everyone's career was going back up because she worked with this
- 41:41French director who did this scene in a movie where her boobs
- 41:45were out. And she was walking out of the
- 41:46Lagoon and it was like this epic scene where they were blacked
- 41:50out right before using them. I could actually be really good
- 41:52at movies. This idea fans would have been
- 41:54killing everyone and people went and saw It at the cinema
- 41:57multiple times. Just to watch her walk out of
- 42:00the Lagoon. Yes, they were like this is
- 42:02worth particular time. Yeah.
- 42:04Yes. How she got back on top?
- 42:05Yeah, she came back and then another Studio wanted her.
- 42:08I'm pretty sure. And she started to be able to
- 42:10get the big box. Yeah.
- 42:12There are, you know, their marriages to each other kind of
- 42:16thing, sort of symbolized, the marriages that they each had
- 42:20with the other partners that make sense.
- 42:22Yeah, which is really weird, but they're all matched up.
- 42:24And they were everything was going well.
- 42:27Evelyn found out a project was happening.
- 42:29Yes. And she really wanted to be on a
- 42:31castelia recommended and she said, this is going to be a
- 42:34perfect role for you. So she contacted the director
- 42:36and then they're like, oh, I'm surprised you wanted to do that
- 42:38because we cast Dawn Adler as the LIE.
- 42:41Yes. And it was her first roll back
- 42:44after humming Connor. Yes.
- 42:46So she had about her and how he had a baby, they decided that it
- 42:49was time for them to have kids. Yeah, I think we're in the 40s
- 42:52that worked out pretty well. I think she was 37.
- 42:56Yeah, something like Like that I had to get together.
- 42:59That was really cute, but actually is my favorite part
- 43:01during the whole book and it's more because Harry.
- 43:03So loving. He's there every minute.
- 43:05Yeah. As he really wanted to be a dad.
- 43:08Yeah, that's cute. Yeah yeah.
- 43:10So don't add one and she's like, oh God then she hadn't spoken to
- 43:14him since the breakup and he tried to ruin her life but she
- 43:17was kind of like he's a little bit on the outs.
- 43:20Yeah. So she had the upper hand on
- 43:22him. So she was willing to work with
- 43:23him because she could like rub it in his face.
- 43:25Was she was so still Surviving. Yeah don't apologizing was kind
- 43:30of a Vibe so he should yeah. Grovel bitch, grab them all.
- 43:34But it's funny because he said he regrets everything he did but
- 43:37then he did the same exact thing a ruby.
- 43:39So he regretted everything. He did to her and Ruby he
- 43:43stopped drinking alcohol. He was like so far none of
- 43:47excuse thingies, you know? This is when it comes up to the
- 43:52second breaker and things have been good with her and Celia
- 43:56that Never been more in love. This is the love of her life.
- 44:00She realizes that she had a baby.
- 44:01She agreed that she could have the baby with Harry and
- 44:04everything was working. Well, it was a bit hard bit
- 44:07stressful. There's a lot of work going on
- 44:09so there's this sex scene in the movie and wasn't this the French
- 44:13director? Yeah, yeah.
- 44:14So there's this X in the movie and he's like, we've really got
- 44:16to push this sex scene because we've got to make it like the
- 44:19character. It's gonna go really loves him.
- 44:21It's got to look real. She's got to have an orgasm
- 44:24which was unheard of back in the day.
- 44:27For women. Yeah, and she just said to the
- 44:30director. Yep.
- 44:30I'll do it. Yeah, filmed the scene.
- 44:34Didn't tell Celia anything knowing that Celia has a problem
- 44:38with her being overly sexualized.
- 44:42I don't think it's overly sexualized.
- 44:44I think it was more specialized with her ex-husband.
- 44:47Oh, yeah. That Amber, because she'll
- 44:49happily sexualized her all the time when it suited her.
- 44:53Yeah. That's when Sealy was
- 44:54inconsistent, sometimes it's hell, yeah, girl.
- 44:57You can't have both ways how have both ways.
- 44:59So she comes home she feels really guilty.
- 45:02She said I think it was 50 blocks home or do you actually
- 45:0615 probably 15? Okay?
- 45:08Because he was 50, but imagine you're driving home and you see
- 45:13a movie star. Walk, he's like 7 million box,
- 45:16arm Tucson. And then she uses the like a
- 45:18payphone. Default like you have to take
- 45:20the kid for the night. I'm about to fuck up our
- 45:23foursome. Yeah.
- 45:25And then she tried to do damage control.
- 45:27Roll off to the scene was already recorded and she was
- 45:29trying to be like, look, it's really for the autistic - of the
- 45:33movie. Yeah, and Celia's like nope, she
- 45:36thought about it and she's like, no, I wouldn't be able to handle
- 45:38seeing it. Yeah, don't watch it.
- 45:40And she goes, don't do it for the sake of our relationship.
- 45:44Don't do the sex scene. I don't think it mattered that
- 45:47much, that's just me. That's think maybe she should
- 45:50have let us sleep on it. Let it sink in but she admitted
- 45:53at the time she goes, I've already recorded it.
- 45:56It's already done. But with yeah but again for
- 45:59Celia for her it was Evelyn not fucking thinking about her.
- 46:04Yeah. And treating her like a complete
- 46:06afterthought and steamrolling her just as she always does like
- 46:11an afterthought though. She thought about that for like
- 46:14a split second before saying yell report it.
- 46:16Yeah everyone does that though. She doesn't care about the
- 46:19conscious thought she's very into her career and I think
- 46:22that's the only thing that drives her.
- 46:24I know I feel like but I feel like Should have talk to Celia
- 46:28more about. Let's have boundaries about what
- 46:31happened, but she never did our, but you didn't drink any.
- 46:34She didn't get that lead up. But in saying that she never did
- 46:38that with any of her ex-husband know, so I'm assuming she just
- 46:43didn't get it. Yeah.
- 46:44Like it wasn't a thing to her, she's probably just as confused.
- 46:48Yeah. You'd think that because they've
- 46:50had breakups before from misunderstanding.
- 46:52But she would understand. Yeah, she wouldn't understand,
- 46:55but she did. She was like, I know No, this is
- 46:57actually really bad that she's well, she's done.
- 46:59Yeah. And then, so Celia packs up and
- 47:02moves out of the house and everything.
- 47:04She's like this. Like I did.
- 47:06I and she took that so personal because her divorcing, John was
- 47:10her divorcing Evelyn. Yeah, I don't know why she
- 47:13wouldn't just keep John. Has her beard though because she
- 47:16was leaving them together. She was only there because John
- 47:20was with Harry. Yeah.
- 47:21So she was kind of like I'm not going to hang out with John
- 47:23everyday of Harry's there, which Evelyn married to John for. 15
- 47:27years. Wow, that's actually pretty
- 47:29long, that's pretty well. Evelyn wins the Oscar.
- 47:32Yeah, of course, with Don Adler, and the director for that.
- 47:36I don't see things that Oscar. I think Dawn wins the Oscar and
- 47:40she doesn't like, so I just remember them going to get a
- 47:42hamburger after with the director.
- 47:43The director was. Yeah.
- 47:45And so they go in and guess she did win.
- 47:47Sorry. Oh, so they going to get
- 47:49hamburgers. Get the take away with no
- 47:52security and they get bombarded by fans.
- 47:55Yeah. And then afterwards in the car,
- 47:57the guy. And what's his name again?
- 47:59Max Gerard Max Gerard is like, always loved you.
- 48:03Everyone fuck. And then he just smush her face
- 48:06and then she just goes along with it because she's like, oh,
- 48:09we must get married immediately. You don't need to get married
- 48:13Pottery frustrating. So she's technically still
- 48:17married to Harry. Yeah, so she comes home after
- 48:21that and she's kind of like to Harry.
- 48:23I haven't really had anyone romantically in my life
- 48:26sincerely. Laughs, this is before off to
- 48:28John Dies because I can't remember before baseball in
- 48:32crucial. Yeah, she and he's like, I'll
- 48:35make it softer. I think it'll be after I'm
- 48:39confused with the ordered. No, I mean far out.
- 48:42So yeah and how he's like, okay, you deserve to find loves ya.
- 48:45Would you risk it all for Max Gerard?
- 48:48He doesn't sound likely. Not, and you've done to movies
- 48:52with this guy. Yeah.
- 48:54But she goes, I just feel like I know him more as much as anybody
- 48:58else. And so she knows no one.
- 49:00Well yeah, understands no one. She knew Harry and Master on.
- 49:04Yeah, that's it. And because he was a male or in
- 49:07her orbit But he was willing to give it a chance but she didn't.
- 49:11She wasn't like in love with him.
- 49:12She just thought I might enjoy being with a man because her and
- 49:17Harry were not compatible possess game.
- 49:19Yeah. They were not together.
- 49:21They were soul mates as friends and he was like, you deserve to
- 49:24have a life blah, blah, blah. So we'll get divorced and then
- 49:29you and Max Gerard can get married.
- 49:31Then, of course, I get married straight away, she's not really
- 49:33running out of marriage proposals, is she alright?
- 49:38Tap water. If I'm at this point, I would
- 49:40just not get married. What do you expect?
- 49:42Why was that a thing? Why is it so big?
- 49:45It's just okay. So max Gerard was number six.
- 49:49Yeah and it turned out really bad.
- 49:52Yeah. Eventually if she did love him
- 49:55yeah and she had a good sort of life with him like he was good
- 49:59with her daughter and everything and then she couldn't get Celia
- 50:02off her mind. He was really only with her
- 50:05because he loved her as a trophy A wife.
- 50:08Oh yeah. And when they were starting to
- 50:11have an argument, he pretty much implied that he was cheating on
- 50:14her the whole time. Yeah, she didn't know again and
- 50:18then she gets in contact with Celia again and then they start
- 50:21writing letters back and forth. I forget what the Catalyst
- 50:24exactly was Imaginext. From 10 years ago, sending you
- 50:28love letters out of nowhere and then like dearest Cecilia and it
- 50:31appears to have a linen and then, and then so she was
- 50:37arranging to me. Up with her because she's like
- 50:39there's the tiny crack in the door.
- 50:41Still open about this relationship.
- 50:42So only person she cares about Evelyn.
- 50:44Only loved Celia and that's it. She wasn't really bisexual.
- 50:49She was Celia sexualized. That?
- 50:52Yeah, because she she care about all the women.
- 50:55She she says that she was like there was two categories.
- 50:57Yeah. Women and it was Celia and not
- 50:59CLE. Yeah, that's it.
- 51:02So that's pretty good. Yeah, for Celia.
- 51:04Yeah, she's jealous for nothing. Yeah.
- 51:06Yeah. But she was jealous of the men.
- 51:08Oh yeah, he thought that Evelyn's bisexual and but no one
- 51:13was good as Celia. I mean, she came out as bisexual
- 51:16but I really don't think she liked the men.
- 51:19I really only think that really validation.
- 51:22Oh yeah, I think that'll validation.
- 51:24Yeah, but she did truly loved on and was sexually attracted.
- 51:28So there was a bit of the sexual orientation but a map, the
- 51:32relationships were just all about validation.
- 51:35Yeah, sure. Yeah, I do.
- 51:38No, because big picture for me. I was kind of like Evelyn kind
- 51:41of hung on to Celia as a back burner.
- 51:43When her own her own roller, coaster shit was hitting the fan
- 51:48to me and I would be salty. If I was silly, I'd be like, oh,
- 51:51of course you're sending me letters.
- 51:52Yeah, Evelyn Evelyn. You should have done this years
- 51:56ago. I don't even know.
- 51:57Like, I just feel like I just don't understand how they both.
- 52:00Didn't learn to the first like four times, right?
- 52:04Why is leave it so long? Why I love with someone Ten
- 52:07Years Later? After God, Evelyn goes to meet
- 52:10Celia to see if there's any rekindling and silly is still a
- 52:13bit, got a wall up. She's like whatever will meet
- 52:15his friends and then Max Gerard finds the letters.
- 52:18She was about to leave for the airport to meet up with cilia.
- 52:21Almost took the letters to. Yes.
- 52:23And then he was just like, oh my God, my wife is in a dike.
- 52:27She's like, be told, I think he just went and she's like, I'm
- 52:32not a dyke and he's like you're such dark.
- 52:36And it was like, oh my God, settle down till the whole page
- 52:40of their fight when it was like and all he cared about was how
- 52:43it reflected on him that he was married to a dyke and it's just
- 52:46like, oh my God, settle all petal.
- 52:49And he was like, I thought you would have affairs but not like
- 52:52this. It's like, okay, you'd rather
- 52:53her just raw dogging, some dudes, like calm down to have
- 53:00affairs with men, too insecure for the word of God.
- 53:06It's like of course they wouldn't have conversations
- 53:08about that. Yeah, so weird.
- 53:11Yeah. And he got all threatening and
- 53:13he was like, I'm going to ask you.
- 53:15You die kiss, daddy Dyke. He was just like trying to add
- 53:21her at this point. Really, he's a director.
- 53:27Yeah, who cares? No one cared about him and she's
- 53:30like, I'm going to leave you either way, whether you out me
- 53:32or not. Yeah, he's kind of like, oh well
- 53:34fuck. And she kind of said I did love
- 53:37you at one point, like stop being dramatic.
- 53:40I did love you until I realized you didn't love me back but also
- 53:44some of these guys have to take responsibility.
- 53:46She's married five times before you bro.
- 53:50What do you think's going on here?
- 53:51What they all love for man, until they have a And then
- 53:54they're like, oh that's it. And then they want to assume no
- 53:56responsibility or like he was never married before.
- 54:00So it's kind of like come on, it makes sense, but it's kind of
- 54:04like we keep on book. There's another book by the
- 54:07older. I think it's his book, or it's
- 54:09you. I'm gonna give my Straub swayam
- 54:11a. It's either him or mix.
- 54:14Wait, which one's make. Let me just have a quick on
- 54:16these number three. Yeah, okay.
- 54:18I like Mick the I could see that there's a little Vegas wedding.
- 54:22Yeah, because he was Like hot and he was probably out here,
- 54:26living the bachelor life, so maybe he's version is not as
- 54:28depressing. Several things I want to hear it
- 54:33from a male perspective but actually just he's gonna be like
- 54:35Wolf of Wall Street and movie star additional Evelyn's a bit
- 54:39to like just straight up titties Evelyn's.
- 54:42Bit, is just everyone sexualizing her and taking
- 54:45advantage of her. That's very own.
- 54:46Brand of the law. You know how they treated women.
- 54:49So it makes a lot of sense. How they still do?
- 54:51I guess just handed more updated way.
- 54:53For me, I'm kind of, like, Evelyn's.
- 54:55Got to get real and understand that she does you Celia.
- 54:58Yeah, I don't know. Like, for me, I was never fully
- 55:01sold on their relationship. I know that sounds bad.
- 55:05It was a standard. I didn't, I don't.
- 55:07Yeah, I don't actually think it was Evelyn.
- 55:09That was not selling me though. I think it was sillier, whoo,
- 55:14because everyone was so it was like, she was so driven to love
- 55:18her. And she was so out of her way,
- 55:21trying to protect her, that it was like, she just Ted fucking
- 55:24it up because she wouldn't see me play.
- 55:26It was like, she had only seen this way to protect her and that
- 55:29was it. Like she didn't see any other
- 55:31option but Celia was a bit delusional sometimes because she
- 55:35goes, I'm sick of hiding, which I get ya.
- 55:37But then Evelyn Would Rain her back in and be like, well what
- 55:39do you want me to do because this is our livelihood.
- 55:42Do you want us to have no inheritance for my child and
- 55:45blah blah blah? Like you want to just shoot them
- 55:47working to get to that point? So yeah, is that she's
- 55:50essentially saying my career would be wiped off the face of
- 55:53the Earth? And everyone would just all
- 55:55those bits where they're worried, that Connor was going
- 55:57to get taken away from. Yeah.
- 55:59For being gay. Yep.
- 56:01When it comes down to your child and your partner?
- 56:03Yeah. We're going to pick your partner
- 56:05your childhood sorry. Yeah hold on.
- 56:08Fuck the children. Get rid of them kids but oh yeah
- 56:12you would pick your job? Yeah, which is weird because
- 56:15Cecilia would say all this stuff but then she'd go.
- 56:17Oh but if CPS finds out, you're your to gay bars.
- 56:22They're gonna take And then she's like, well, what do you
- 56:25want? What do you want from me?
- 56:27She's like, Noah in the notebook.
- 56:32That's why she wasn't selling me.
- 56:33It's like it's all she ever wanted.
- 56:35And then she was like, hold up. Well everybody, she never win.
- 56:38She was blaming Evelyn for her, not wanting to come out.
- 56:41Yeah, that's really what it was. Yeah, she was using that as her
- 56:44clutch not coming on and that's it.
- 56:46I know. Staying quite advantaged, both
- 56:49of them in ways. Yeah.
- 56:52And Harry as well. Oh yeah, ours.
- 56:54Well, they do say in the book that Harry is that I don't
- 56:58because he's a man who get murdered.
- 57:01Yeah, so it was also Evelyn, poor Evelyn, she's chaotic
- 57:05energy. She's trying to protect Celia
- 57:08and hairier than getting murdered.
- 57:10And she's just in the middle making all the worst decisions.
- 57:12But it's because of this reason. What do you think?
- 57:15Everyone's blood pressure is at it and he given X or she didn't
- 57:19die. Fucking sooner of a heart
- 57:20attack. And we're eating Matic.
- 57:26I can't deal. No, wonder she got an Oscar.
- 57:29She was living that shit in your lat.
- 57:31Oh, yeah. Crazy.
- 57:34Who wouldn't agree to retire early and move to Spain?
- 57:37He had some money honestly, find out later.
- 57:40Why Harry didn't want to do it? Oh, yeah, which is the big
- 57:45reveal, which we'll get to crying vomiting.
- 57:48Crying forming, throwing up. Yeah.
- 57:50Sliding down a whole sliding myself. sexily sliding down of
- 57:56all shitting ourselves cutie throwing Hey, cutie throbbing.
- 58:06We're still make that our purview Celia's titties.
- 58:21Those little freckles on her head.
- 58:24So it's the olya and Evelyn and true lesbian fashion have
- 58:28decided to rekindle their entire relationship over brunch.
- 58:32I've had like a 15-minute does Josh, but she's like a fad diet
- 58:35anyway, this is a good. Yes.
- 58:37Okay. She's finally decided.
- 58:39She's okay with coming out of the closet and then, because
- 58:42she's dying Celia reveals that she's got in four seamer.
- 58:47Some sort of, it's something else, but it's emphysema.
- 58:50And it's because of all of them ciggies but she's great through
- 58:54seven seas. Yeah.
- 58:56The diet that the sunset Studios nutritionists.
- 59:01Let them on, which was probably a pack a day of cigarettes.
- 59:05He's going to kill her before she's even 60.
- 59:07Yeah, she makes it to like 61. I think sheet there 50 they have
- 59:12about 10 years she said she's got about 10 years left and so
- 59:15everyone doesn't even know what to make of it.
- 59:17She's like, are you kidding? And then they're kind of like do
- 59:20We even get back together. Is it?
- 59:22Can you even lose me? Yeah but then they've got ten
- 59:26good years who've got a thing in so then they're compromised and
- 59:29this is all silly. As idea is we move to Spain,
- 59:33your daughter's going to have a good life there.
- 59:35Harry can come with us. Hope other can come with.
- 59:38You can get married to my brother because they always have
- 59:40to be a fucking marriage. Why?
- 59:41Why do we bother him anymore? But the reason why silly wants
- 59:46her to get married to her brother is so that she could
- 59:47then be half in in charge of Stay State.
- 59:51Yeah but he could have done it as the brothers next of kin he
- 59:54was not bad brother eat. I mean maybe she wanted it like
- 59:59a definite. She did say that she didn't want
- 1:00:01anyone to oppose her getting every year but the storm but
- 1:00:06didn't need to be a fucking seventh marriage.
- 1:00:08So his name was Robert Jameson. Yes he was a good brother.
- 1:00:13He was that he was probably the second best marriage out of all.
- 1:00:17Let's Ryan come after. Yeah.
- 1:00:20Okay. So she goes back and she talks
- 1:00:22to Harry. Yeah, Harry's hesitant.
- 1:00:24And she doesn't know why and she thinks I think he started a
- 1:00:28relationship. So maybe that's what's impacted
- 1:00:30but he's had a bit of an alcohol problem.
- 1:00:32Anyway, yeah, generally in the art he had an alcohol problem
- 1:00:36because John died. Yes.
- 1:00:37So John was really healthy. He had a heart attack.
- 1:00:40He was the least likely be kind of been like, explain that.
- 1:00:43I'm sorry to things. Go on, he jumps out, fuck John.
- 1:00:50You'll notice the best, but fuck John, fuck jump and dying.
- 1:00:55How dare he how did he exit stage left?
- 1:00:59How dare he look after himself and be so healthy and then have
- 1:01:02a heart attack, right? Absolutely.
- 1:01:04And now Paradise how dies and the fucking cried the little
- 1:01:09this bitch for hours. This set me off on a roller
- 1:01:12coaster and I could not get off in the last conversation they
- 1:01:14had was essentially an argument about moving to Spain.
- 1:01:17Yeri was like nope I want to stay here and then Alan was
- 1:01:20coming around to his house or since she and she saw a fucking
- 1:01:23car wrapped around a fucking tree.
- 1:01:25Yeah, he's pretty much said, the person I am seeing cannot move.
- 1:01:29Yeah, that was it. I can't move because person, I'm
- 1:01:31saying, you cannot move. So she walks up on the scene.
- 1:01:34First person on the scene. She's got her driver Nick with
- 1:01:36her. Yeah, this random kid and she
- 1:01:39hops out. She realizes Harry's drunk
- 1:01:42almost dead. Yeah, he's being drained dry.
- 1:01:45She can smell the alcohol on him.
- 1:01:46Piles him into the car and instead she puts the past.
- 1:01:50Juror in the driver's seat because he's already dead.
- 1:01:53Yeah, she goes. So he gets the blame, he'll get
- 1:01:56the blame because Harry can't do it because he's a dad.
- 1:01:58And she thinks if he survived, he's not going to jail.
- 1:02:01Yeah, she does it. I get it.
- 1:02:03It makes a lot of sense. Hmm.
- 1:02:07He deserves to go to jail, but it makes a lot of sense.
- 1:02:10So she rushes him to hospital. And then she tells the driver,
- 1:02:13don't say shit to no one until you call me tomorrow.
- 1:02:16And we work this out. Yeah.
- 1:02:17She's essentially paying him off.
- 1:02:18Harry dies in the hospital. Hospital at nighttime about a
- 1:02:21couple hours later and then she says, please don't go.
- 1:02:24But if you have to go go. Yeah.
- 1:02:27And this is where I'm so jealous.
- 1:02:30That's why it's so conflicting. Because the rest of the book,
- 1:02:33The only thing that got me through was Irish.
- 1:02:35I know. All that was fucking you going
- 1:02:38on, but her and Harry was so special.
- 1:02:41They are homes and soul. Mates.
- 1:02:43They were soul mates. Yeah, a platonic solid.
- 1:02:45Yes, exactly. So him dying was bought because
- 1:02:48he is the father of her daughter.
- 1:02:50Yeah, and he was a good dad. Had best friend and she's going
- 1:02:53through. So you man because you like it
- 1:02:56was falling now like 50, 40, some hey Miss about 10 years
- 1:03:00older than how he was about public, 59 61, I think, I think
- 1:03:04it was, yeah, he was older the driver, which was Nick calls her
- 1:03:09the next day and in exchange for his silence, he wants her to
- 1:03:12make him into a movie star and she just beep, beep.
- 1:03:15Boop, makes a couple phone calls and I did on and then gets it
- 1:03:18started. Yeah.
- 1:03:19But how Good. But she does say that careful
- 1:03:22what you wish for. Yeah, she does say careful what
- 1:03:24you wish for but she also goes, he changed his name, changed his
- 1:03:28hair. Everything did like what she did
- 1:03:30but he would have got there on his own without her.
- 1:03:32Yeah. Anyway, yeah, like he was
- 1:03:34talented enough to get there and she was lowkey the younger.
- 1:03:37Her would have been impressed with how he took a bad situation
- 1:03:40slipped on a team like that's her, but he got it sooner than
- 1:03:44he would've. Yeah, you didn't have to put in
- 1:03:45much work so he went on to become a famous movie star which
- 1:03:49is like get it. But the car scene itself was
- 1:03:53covered up yet. So the passenger would have been
- 1:03:57found as the driver. Yes, dumb.
- 1:04:00Dumb dumb. They actually moved to Spain
- 1:04:04which works out great. Because Connor goes through the
- 1:04:07spiral. She's 13 14.
- 1:04:09She's getting drunk. She's happier aspects.
- 1:04:11She's having threesomes. Yep.
- 1:04:13She's doing all the worst things so they ship off to Spain.
- 1:04:16Yes. So they all go to Spain and
- 1:04:18she's like there's only one condition you have done.
- 1:04:20Dealing with me every day and you have to go see a
- 1:04:22psychologist which is pretty fair.
- 1:04:24Evelyn and Celia are just lying in bed one day and they're like,
- 1:04:28talking about marriage and talking about their relationship
- 1:04:32and silly was saying, she gets mad because she always thinks
- 1:04:35about all of the years I missed. Because I was probably, like,
- 1:04:3715, 20 years that they just didn't talk.
- 1:04:40Yeah, added up. Yeah.
- 1:04:42So that would be hectic and and then Evelyn's like, yeah, but
- 1:04:46all of practically all of her marriages would bullshit.
- 1:04:49Yeah, she can. Got a triangle.
- 1:04:51One of them. Can we get about Celia the whole
- 1:04:53time? Yeah.
- 1:04:54And then they decided to just sort of get makeshift.
- 1:04:57Married makeshift. Marry a spiritual mode.
- 1:04:59Well, I suppose, when you've been married so many times, it
- 1:05:01really does not matter to you if you're actually married and it's
- 1:05:05probably illegal Paul. Yeah, probably.
- 1:05:07Yeah, but it was just sad if so it really sort of goes to show
- 1:05:12how much gay people go through to be seen as legitimate like
- 1:05:18she could have seven. Fucking marriage.
- 1:05:20Has two great guys. And nobody would bat an eye.
- 1:05:23Yeah. But, because she was in a female
- 1:05:26female relationship, she couldn't even get married.
- 1:05:29It's just ridiculous, disgusting, it's still yeah,
- 1:05:34they should be essential reading.
- 1:05:38So like teenage son so they're thinking they haven't even got
- 1:05:43much time left. But they're really enjoying
- 1:05:45their years now because they're not insecure.
- 1:05:47They don't they're not there away from Hollywood Evelyn's not
- 1:05:50being a stupid bitch. Yeah and honestly I got with
- 1:05:53people Connors gone to Stanford. Yep.
- 1:05:55She's going to do Finance so their lives are settling down
- 1:05:59and Celia's dying. Yeah and she eventually died.
- 1:06:03She had about they had about six more years.
- 1:06:06Yeah so they had ten years Together, gotten married five
- 1:06:10years in and then they had another six.
- 1:06:12So she died at 61. That would be hard to know that
- 1:06:15it was going to come around the corner.
- 1:06:16Eventually. Yeah, it's sort of made them
- 1:06:19appreciate each other. We just kept going downhill.
- 1:06:22I know. And then looking Connor died I
- 1:06:26know I was like I was like how dare you she went off to UNI,
- 1:06:30she had a relationship and she separated from that person kind
- 1:06:34of thing and I mean her and Robert stayed together, they
- 1:06:38stay. They together the whole entire
- 1:06:39Talent time, they moved back to New York.
- 1:06:41They had my own apartment together.
- 1:06:44Everything I think he died first so Robert died too.
- 1:06:50Or he died after she's so weird. But she died at 39 of breast,
- 1:06:56cancer of breast cancer. Yeah, they found out.
- 1:06:58She had Advanced stages of it and she died at 13.
- 1:07:02I know, I know. Evelyn didn't even know what to
- 1:07:05fucking English. John.
- 1:07:10I suppose was yeah, Harry. Yep.
- 1:07:13And then it was fucking Celia and then Connor pain out of
- 1:07:17nowhere, all of it. Yeah, it's wild.
- 1:07:20It's wild. But I really didn't expect to
- 1:07:23call in to die. My tennis lady just have one win
- 1:07:26and not outlive her child. She really got had the shit his
- 1:07:33life and then she I kind of knew that she would be taken out at
- 1:07:39some stage by breast cancer herself.
- 1:07:42Yeah, so it's genetics. Oh, she found out, she was early
- 1:07:45stages. Connor died about 18 months
- 1:07:49after she found out. She had breast cancer, so she's
- 1:07:51messed up. He's gonna cry again.
- 1:07:54So basically that brings us up to the modern day.
- 1:07:57Yeah, and then we were back with Monique and Evelyn.
- 1:08:01She was telling the whole story yet then.
- 1:08:04Then everland admits to Monique that the guy who Harry was
- 1:08:08dating and was switched into the driver's seat was, in fact, a
- 1:08:13black man and it happened to be Monique's Dad.
- 1:08:16See, I knew that somewhere in them and the next day I had was
- 1:08:20so tired and somewhere. Yeah, I did not think I've wait
- 1:08:24so far left. I thought mini could be related
- 1:08:27to Evelyn in some Twisted way. Yeah, that's what I was
- 1:08:31thinking. Yeah, and the mom didn't know
- 1:08:33about it or whatever. Like I I thought she'd some
- 1:08:35cousins. I can remove or something.
- 1:08:37Yeah, like her dad being gay, haha.
- 1:08:42Yeah. Not where I was, and she didn't
- 1:08:43know her. Dad was gay, and everyone just
- 1:08:46kind of bombarded her. She's like, here's some letters
- 1:08:48and shit. And she's just like, oh, no.
- 1:08:49And she was pissed. She was Schrager.
- 1:08:52Devil, angry. She's like you fucking bitch.
- 1:08:54You tampered with a crime scene and you put, and I thought my
- 1:08:58dad was a drunk variety my whole life, so he is so he died when
- 1:09:03she was seven. And of course, her dad was never
- 1:09:08going to go with Harry. Who's he would never leave
- 1:09:11Monique and the mom. He loved her mom so much into it
- 1:09:16was just it was hairy and Celia just So bad.
- 1:09:25So many sitting there going you, fucking bitch, is this your way
- 1:09:28to try and compensate me? For all of this is that you want
- 1:09:31me to write stupid Memoir. And yeah and then everyone's
- 1:09:35like nothing's going to make up for it.
- 1:09:37I just thought you needed to know the truth.
- 1:09:38She held onto that letter for 30 years and she's like, I could
- 1:09:42have just found or contacted you but she had to, of course, do it
- 1:09:46in the most dramatic way? Possible.
- 1:09:47Yeah, of course I'm very own brand and gently all blindsided
- 1:09:51by the fact that it was her And because if they said black man
- 1:09:53in the passenger seat, we would have got it.
- 1:09:56Immediately figured it out. Yeah, immediately.
- 1:09:59Exactly. She said, a lot of times, I'm
- 1:10:02finalizing everything. I'm getting everything in order.
- 1:10:04And yes said, I liked how you wrote about the way that people
- 1:10:08have the right to choose when to end their life.
- 1:10:10So I know that you're going to handle my book properly.
- 1:10:13Yeah and she was kind of like a bit were but then she got it but
- 1:10:16Evelyn's planning and I supposed you hated Evelyn, you weren't
- 1:10:20gonna be fluffy about A life too.
- 1:10:23How do you get all the way home and wrap yourself in the
- 1:10:26driveway? Well, it can happen.
- 1:10:28I guess. Yeah.
- 1:10:30Maybe the alcohol wasn't slapping until then maybe they
- 1:10:34literally drinking and driving. So yeah, that was the dramatic
- 1:10:36reveal. That had an app that had me
- 1:10:38sugar. It haven't I was not going to
- 1:10:41see that coming so kind of you know what because of all the
- 1:10:44fucking deaths. Yeah we're never going to see
- 1:10:46that coming anyway because it was so draining to get us
- 1:10:49through everyone knows and one sort of was buried at the same
- 1:10:54place, burial place and it's just But you know what?
- 1:11:00Ultimately, don't you think? It's the biggest Flex to outlive
- 1:11:04all of your seven husbands? Yes.
- 1:11:06And then she took herself out on her own terms.
- 1:11:08She? Yeah, because she wasn't going
- 1:11:10to let her titties. Take her out.
- 1:11:11Yeah, she's very into this. All they're not taking her out
- 1:11:14irony, so she's actually kind of smart.
- 1:11:16Yeah. And then she went out and she
- 1:11:18just didn't even have to face the backlash of her book either.
- 1:11:21Yeah. She's like, Fuck it.
- 1:11:22This is the truth. Take it or not.
- 1:11:24Yeah, and it's just mic drop, I'm out.
- 1:11:27I mean, and also all them people That would have been the same
- 1:11:30age going through the same three things.
- 1:11:32Her would have read it and but yeah, I think that makes a lot
- 1:11:34of fucking fat. Exactly.
- 1:11:35And even new generations that are like, wow yeah.
- 1:11:38There were gay people. They just had to cover it up way
- 1:11:41more than younger people can now I guess?
- 1:11:45Yeah. I thought we were rating system.
- 1:11:47We could do how many husbands out of 7.
- 1:11:51How many coochie throbs? How many sliding down the Bulls?
- 1:11:56How many depressive sliding down the wall shitting?
- 1:11:58Your hence out of 77 husband's is like, I mean the book was a
- 1:12:05roller coaster. Yeah, it had a lot of it.
- 1:12:09Have a lot of tea. I was here for the TV.
- 1:12:12You know what had so much and not enough.
- 1:12:14It was so annoying because I think you're trying to fit so
- 1:12:17much in and you've got to get it through really quickly.
- 1:12:20Well, there's so much more we could have gotten, but we only
- 1:12:23got a little snap ins of everything.
- 1:12:25But I think the cool thing is, when you look back at it in the
- 1:12:27context of this is her biography.
- 1:12:29You got the biography. Yeah, so that's kind of cool.
- 1:12:32Yeah, I really. I loved her last quote, in the
- 1:12:35end of the book, and it's something like I don't care
- 1:12:38about my seven husbands because they're all going to care about
- 1:12:41my wife. Anyway.
- 1:12:41Yeah. Everyone's going to be more
- 1:12:43interested in my one wife, my one.
- 1:12:45Oh my God. Damn.
- 1:12:47Well then why'd you marry them? That was cheaper than men away?
- 1:12:53Yeah, disposable. Yeah, or my gosh?
- 1:12:56Okay, so we've got, I've got a list of the seven husbands.
- 1:12:59I'll wait, what's our rating but would you write it out of seven?
- 1:13:02Husbands out of seven? Yeah.
- 1:13:05It's so hard part. Yeah.
- 1:13:08Because I loved the ending by the first half was a drag.
- 1:13:12Yeah. And I didn't care about fucking
- 1:13:14money coffee table. I will read a little Sideline
- 1:13:19Story was stupid. Yeah I'm going to give it six
- 1:13:22out of seven husbands because yeah it's served.
- 1:13:25It was a really good book. It is not that it's a bad book.
- 1:13:28Know, it's a really good book. And honestly I well I've had a
- 1:13:31seven is a good rating. Yeah.
- 1:13:33And I would Give it a straight 7 but actually like it was not.
- 1:13:37It was so much but not enough. Like I wanted more my family's,
- 1:13:40I wanted more. Yeah, sometimes stuff was
- 1:13:43glossed over in move forward real quick and yeah, that was my
- 1:13:46only problem. Otherwise, I love the book, I
- 1:13:49actually didn't think I was gonna like the book at all.
- 1:13:51Yeah. So if the book was more
- 1:13:52in-depth, I actually like Julie establishing stuff.
- 1:13:54When she was young, I liked little, I like the young
- 1:13:57establishing stuff. It set off her character really
- 1:14:00well, especially her being sexualized.
- 1:14:02Yeah, having to Essentially become a prostitute to get food.
- 1:14:08Well, that's great. All of the husband's much best
- 1:14:12to worst. Okay, so best has to be Harry.
- 1:14:15Has to be because he's soul. Mate, he's best boys.
- 1:14:18Okay, I'm popping in Harry's number one, Harry's a dream.
- 1:14:25He will ya and he was not abusive.
- 1:14:27No, they only had sex to procreate.
- 1:14:31Yeah, it's funny. You know what?
- 1:14:33He made her breakfast. First, he helped her shower.
- 1:14:36He did all of that. Yep.
- 1:14:38Okay. Great.
- 1:14:39So who was I will Robert either has to be right?
- 1:14:43Yeah. I reckon Robert number to his
- 1:14:45brother. Oh yeah.
- 1:14:46For sure, for sure. Because he was a good like, I
- 1:14:50guess. This is kind of like a
- 1:14:51stepped-up. Yeah.
- 1:14:53Yeah, yeah third. I reckon has to be Rex.
- 1:14:57Yes. Yes.
- 1:14:58Because they just had the arrangement.
- 1:15:00Yeah. And it just worked.
- 1:15:02It's funny. How all the best husbands with?
- 1:15:04They're not to be her real husband.
- 1:15:05I know those beards ended up the best ones, and then I'm thinking
- 1:15:11would it be? Make just because he was there
- 1:15:16for exactly what she just was able to use him exactly how she
- 1:15:19wants. Yeah, it was pretty predictable
- 1:15:21and easy to. He wasn't really a husband.
- 1:15:23No, he didn't really count but he's definitely not the worst
- 1:15:25because he wasn't not Yusuf who just a bit of a pig.
- 1:15:29Yeah, so like me Nick well, which one may call only because
- 1:15:34both of them were just used and abused.
- 1:15:35I right now. I reckon make then Ernie Ernie
- 1:15:39because he was leaning on the side of pedo.
- 1:15:42Yeah, is fifth unintentionally, but he would have known.
- 1:15:46Hey, Mikey was laying on my letterhead.
- 1:15:48Oh, she she's still in school? Okay, so battle for the worst
- 1:15:52because it's either, the worst is Max Gerard or the worstest on
- 1:15:55Adler. And I feel like the work should
- 1:15:58be done and should be done. Yeah.
- 1:16:00Because Max, let's be honest. I kind of tie.
- 1:16:04Yeah, but no Max only tried to Outer but he was otherwise a
- 1:16:07good dad to. Yeah, Connor.
- 1:16:11Yeah, so it's hard to and only she would be all right, Ernie.
- 1:16:19He's back on the chopping block, fuck any?
- 1:16:22Um, I don't know what's worse. Donna is 100% being a pet owner
- 1:16:26or or constantly calling someone a dyke But only was harmless
- 1:16:35when she left, he didn't stalk her, he didn't.
- 1:16:37Yeah, he might. Yeah, he's fine.
- 1:16:39He's just in the middle. No, I think only should be 5.
- 1:16:42I mean, six, yeah, makes sense. Yeah, no, no, I don't know.
- 1:16:45Max tried to be not. Max is 6 because he tried to
- 1:16:48blackmail her essentially. Yeah, he was sorry.
- 1:16:51He would have been abusive and he cheated on her till.
- 1:16:54Yeah, I forgot a little, the constant cheating and Dawn's the
- 1:16:57worst. Daanish is arguable.
- 1:16:59And it's not because it's not because physical abuse is worse.
- 1:17:04I think it's just it's that I love bombing and I'm apologizing
- 1:17:09and then like she was scared when that whole not pregnancy
- 1:17:13thinking and she's like I do not want to see him.
- 1:17:15Hmm so-so her fear is kind of matters only bad in the end.
- 1:17:21Yeah the only trophy water whereas Dawn wanted to keep at
- 1:17:26home and not let her have a Korea.
- 1:17:29Yep oh yes he was controlling he was controlling.
- 1:17:33He wouldn't he ruined her career to hear?
- 1:17:35I do embarrassing. Shit like stopping Middle
- 1:17:37Highway and like hitter at work like, yeah.
- 1:17:41He's hundred percent worse. So isn't it ironic that the most
- 1:17:45legitimate of the relationships were the worst behaved?
- 1:17:49Yeah, so it goes. Don was the worst Max Ernie.
- 1:17:53They were all o, learning wasn't even a real relationship, Ernie,
- 1:17:58make then Rex, and then they're all not real.
- 1:18:02Elation, fuck it up. Barely real one was really Maxim
- 1:18:06dong. Yeah, because they're the ones
- 1:18:08that she had a sexual attraction to Young wanted to have an
- 1:18:11actual relationship. Wanted to be dry.
- 1:18:13The rest. She didn't the rest were just
- 1:18:16there, but Harry was the best. Harry Harry will always be the
- 1:18:20best so lucky that she had a kid with Harry.
- 1:18:22Yeah, though. Both in the closet, he wanted
- 1:18:25children. What better person to have a
- 1:18:26child within your best friend? Exactly.
