T.D. Jakes These Bumps in the Road Mean That You're Close to Your BREAKTHROUGH! TBN - TBN (64k) · THE WORLD'S BEST PREACHER

Speaker 1: I know a lot of people that are doing better
• 0:02
Speaker 1: than me, but none of them got there without a
• 0:05
  Speaker 1: bumpy road.
• 0:06
Speaker 2: The road to better is bumpy.
• 0:11
Speaker 1: So if you're on a bumpy road, I'm telling you
• 0:15
Speaker 1: you're headed to better. There are some things that God
• 0:18
Speaker 1: created you for that you had some delays and some setbacks,
• 0:23
Speaker 1: and some mistakes and some mishaps, and God wants you
• 0:27
Speaker 1: to come back to the.
• 0:28
Speaker 2: Place that there's gonna be a night shift.
• 0:34
Speaker 1: Jacob has told his sons, you will not defeat the
• 0:39
Speaker 1: famine looking at each other.
• 0:44
Speaker 2: Did you hear what I'm saying.
• 0:46
Speaker 1: Watch how Jacob handles the famine, because my first point
• 0:51
Speaker 1: is the famine. And until you can deal with the famine,
• 0:56
Speaker 1: you will never get to better. Because famine is a
• 1:00
Speaker 1: part of your journey. How you react to the famine
• 1:04
Speaker 1: determines whether you make it to the food. You've got
• 1:10
Speaker 1: to be aggressive. You can't just pray against the famine.
• 1:15
Speaker 1: You've got to do something, Jacob says. You can't just
• 1:18
Speaker 1: pray against it. You can't just look at each other.
• 1:21
Speaker 1: You can't stay in the same spot and do the
• 1:23
Speaker 1: same things that you've always done and expect to get
• 1:26
  Speaker 1: a different result. Because we're in a famine, and you've
• 1:29
Speaker 1: got to take action, And we don't understand that today,
• 1:33
Speaker 1: we don't understand the human requirement in the miracles of God.
• 1:39
Speaker 3: As much as we.
• 1:40
Speaker 1: Have read about the miracles of God, we walk away
• 1:44
Speaker 1: with praise to God, but absolve ourselves of human responsibility,
• 1:50
Speaker 1: as if God were going to act outside of human effort.
• 1:53
Speaker 1: When God has created us to be collaborative in the miraculous. Oh,
• 1:59
Speaker 1: I'm talking all ready. He wants us to be collaborative
• 2:02
Speaker 1: in the miraculous, that we have a responsibility to take
• 2:06
Speaker 1: action and to be aggressive about resolving issues. Just because
• 2:11
Speaker 1: you're spiritual doesn't mean you get to pray for a
• 2:14
Speaker 1: job and stay at home. I'm just gonna pray. If
• 2:21
Speaker 1: the Lord wants me to have the job, he'll give
• 2:23
Speaker 1: me a job. I'm just gonna watch TV and hit
• 2:25
Speaker 1: the remote control and believe God for better. You'll you'll
• 2:29
Speaker 1: never get to better if you don't get on the road.
• 2:32
Speaker 1: You gotta gotta you gotta get on the road in
• 2:34
Speaker 1: the middle of famine. They're traveling in the middle of
• 2:37
Speaker 1: a famine. Now, traveling is not fun anytime, but traveling
• 2:41
Speaker 1: in the middle of a famine is a very difficult
• 2:44
Speaker 1: time because the famine is so severe that Jacob says,
• 2:47
Speaker 1: if you don't move, you're going to die. Now, I
• 2:51
Speaker 1: don't know who I'm talking to tonight, but there are
• 2:54
Speaker 1: some pressures that come so strong that if you don't move,
• 2:57
Speaker 1: you're going to die. How could you let me die?
• 2:59
Speaker 1: And I'm child of God. You didn't move. I told
• 3:03
Speaker 1: you to move. And when God tells you to move,
• 3:07
Speaker 1: you got to move. And don't act like God has
• 3:09
Speaker 1: failed you when you have failed to move. When God
• 3:16
Speaker 1: says move, you have to take action. Whether you're the
• 3:18
Speaker 1: prodigal son who came to himself but he still had
• 3:22
Speaker 1: to go home, or whether you're the woman with the
• 3:24
Speaker 1: issue of blood who believed that Jesus could heal her
• 3:27
Speaker 1: but she still had to crawl, or whether you're blind
• 3:30
Speaker 1: bottle man standing by the highwayside begging. He still had
• 3:33
Speaker 1: to come out of his coat and go toward Jesus.
• 3:36
Speaker 1: There is a human responsibility in spite of the famine.
• 3:41
Speaker 1: So you got to move in the middle of a famine,
• 3:44
Speaker 1: in the middle of a need, in the middle of
• 3:46
Speaker 1: a storm, in the middle of a crisis. And he
• 3:48
Speaker 1: sends his voice to go from Canaan to Egypt because
• 3:53
Speaker 1: Jacob heard where there was food. Don't hate on people
• 3:58
Speaker 1: who have even when you don't have. Because he didn't
• 4:04
Speaker 1: hate on Egypt. He said, I'm going to Egypt. See,
• 4:08
Speaker 1: we sit back and hate on people as if them
• 4:11
Speaker 1: having is our demise, when it's not them having that
• 4:14
Speaker 1: is our enemy. It's us not moving that is our enemy.
• 4:19
Speaker 1: And the Bible says that though they didn't have any coin,
• 4:22
Speaker 1: they had money. Yeah, and people don't quote it too much,
• 4:26
Speaker 1: but the Bible all say. It says that money is
• 4:29
Speaker 1: the answer to all things. It's the answer to all things.
• 4:33
Speaker 1: If it's a thing, money can buy it. There are
• 4:37
Speaker 1: some issues that cannot be resolved by things, but money
• 4:40
Speaker 1: answers all things. So Jacob told the boys he gave
• 4:45
Speaker 1: them some money and said go down to Egypt, and
• 4:47
Speaker 1: don't go down there begging.
• 4:50
Speaker 2: We came down here to do business. Yeah.
• 4:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, we're spiritual people, but we know how to do business.
• 4:57
Speaker 1: We praised Jehovah, but we still how to do business. Oh,
• 5:01
Speaker 1: y'all not saying nothing to me tonight. See, the church
• 5:05
Speaker 1: has failed its parishioners because we have been real heavy
• 5:09
Speaker 1: on the praise and real light on the business. So
• 5:13
Speaker 1: we told him to praise your way out and dance
• 5:16
Speaker 1: your way out, and spend a around three times that
• 5:18
Speaker 1: you're going to come out and so a sde and
• 5:20
Speaker 1: you're going to get out. But we don't tell them
• 5:22
Speaker 1: that you've got that the blessings are transactional, that there's
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: a business element.
• 5:28
  Speaker 2: Required in it.
• 5:29
Speaker 1: And we got to go back and lay some foundation
• 5:31
Speaker 1: to understand that Jacob does not go down to Egypt
• 5:34
Speaker 1: to beg He goes down there to do business, and
• 5:38
Speaker 1: he sends his sons down there to do business. But
• 5:40
Speaker 1: wait a minute, you have to realize as we begin
• 5:44
Speaker 1: to talk about the famine, we have to understand that
• 5:47
Speaker 1: the famine is so severe that it pushes them to Egypt. Now,
• 5:53
Speaker 1: the second thing I want you to see about the
• 5:55
Speaker 1: famine is that God will use a famine to move you.
• 5:59
Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be a famine for food. It
• 6:01
Speaker 1: can be a famine for love, it can be a
• 6:04
Speaker 1: famine for peace. But in everybody's life listening at me,
• 6:08
Speaker 1: whether online or in the room, you have experienced some
• 6:11
Speaker 1: kind of famine. The famine of fatherhood, the famine of family,
• 6:16
Speaker 1: the famine of a mother's affection, the famine of a
• 6:19
Speaker 1: good job, the famine of a nice house. All of
• 6:22
Speaker 1: us have our famines. You might not be able to
• 6:24
Speaker 1: see it because we might dress nice and sprink alone
• 6:27
Speaker 1: over top of it, but all of us live with
• 6:30
Speaker 1: some level of famine in our lives. Famine makes you pray,
• 6:34
Speaker 1: and famine makes you seek God, and famine makes you
• 6:38
Speaker 1: cry out, and famine will make you move, And oftentimes
• 6:42
Speaker 1: God will use famine as an instrument to force you
• 6:46
Speaker 1: out of your comfort zone. It is more comfortable to
• 6:50
Speaker 1: stay in canaan, but the famine will drive you out.
• 6:53
Speaker 1: It'll make you move, It'll make you get outside of
• 6:56
Speaker 1: your confiden zone. It'll make you travel, It'll put you
• 6:59
Speaker 1: on the road. Somebody say I'm on the road. I'm
• 7:02
Speaker 1: not on the road for a field trip. I'm not
• 7:04
Speaker 1: on the road joy riding. I'm on the road to better.
• 7:07
Speaker 1: I'm on the road to better. There's some time after
• 7:10
Speaker 1: there's something I want to see done in my lifetime,
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: and I'm tired.
• 7:14
  Speaker 2: Of sitting around.
• 7:15
Speaker 1: Assessing the same old troubles and crying about the same
• 7:18
Speaker 1: old problems, and going through the same old things. I'm
• 7:21
Speaker 1: tired of complaining one to another, back and forth oh,
• 7:24
Speaker 1: any bad. Yet, chiad is real bad. It's so bad. Jay,
• 7:28
Speaker 1: I got to move from here, deliver me from people
• 7:31
Speaker 1: who will not take action in the famine. And God
• 7:35
Speaker 1: says action is required on you. You got to get
• 7:38
Speaker 1: on the road. And that's anytime you can't rebuke it
• 7:42
Speaker 1: with a prayer, anytime you plead the blood and it
• 7:45
Speaker 1: doesn't go away, anytime you call on God and it
• 7:48
Speaker 1: still stays there. Then God is using the famine as
• 7:52
Speaker 1: an instrument to move you from one place to the other.
• 7:56
Speaker 1: If it was the devil, I could rebuke it. If
• 7:58
Speaker 1: it were demonic warfare, I could overcome it. But when
• 8:01
Speaker 1: God sends a famine to make you move, it is
• 8:04
Speaker 1: something in his providence that cannot be performed where you are,
• 8:09
Speaker 1: and you've got to move in order to get it.
• 8:12
Speaker 1: And God knows that some of us won't move if
• 8:14
Speaker 1: we're too comfortable, y'all. I'm gonna talk to me tonight.
• 8:19
Speaker 1: And so God uses as a famine to force them
• 8:23
Speaker 1: to move and they go down to Egypt to do business. Now,
• 8:27
Speaker 1: it is interesting to note that though there is a
• 8:29
Speaker 1: famine in Canaan, there is also a famine in this family.
• 8:36
Speaker 1: So my second point deals with the family. You have
• 8:39
Speaker 1: to understand that this text brings out subtly, ever so
• 8:43
Speaker 1: subtly in the text that I want to point it
• 8:45
Speaker 1: out to you. First thing that tells us about Jacob
• 8:48
Speaker 1: is that Jacob sends his sons down to Egypt to
• 8:51
Speaker 1: buy But then it mentions that he did not send
• 8:54
Speaker 1: Benjamin unless he fall into mischief. And this is just
• 8:59
Speaker 1: a hidden, subtle reminder that Jacob doesn't totally trust his
• 9:05
Speaker 1: own sons. Now, where did this distrust come up in
• 9:12
Speaker 1: the culture of this family? This distrust comes up into
• 9:16
Speaker 1: the culture of the family. And you can act like
• 9:19
Speaker 1: you don't know what I'm talking about, But all of
• 9:21
Speaker 1: us have different little things that we know about our
• 9:23
Speaker 1: family that when cousin so and so comes over, you
• 9:27
Speaker 1: kind of look at them out of the corner of
• 9:28
Speaker 1: your eye because because you've been through some things where
• 9:31
Speaker 1: you've learned some things, and this culture has risen up
• 9:34
Speaker 1: in the family that the family is not fruitful, and
• 9:39
Speaker 1: Canaan is not fruitful, and there is not the comfortable,
• 9:42
Speaker 1: loving environment of trust that would cause the family to
• 9:46
Speaker 1: be a nurturing place. Because Jacob remembers what happened to
• 9:50
Speaker 1: Joseph the last time Jacob sent one of his sons
• 9:55
Speaker 1: out with the rest of the sons, he turned up missing,
• 9:59
Speaker 1: and there's a has ado of.
• 10:00
Speaker 2: Distrust in the old man.
• 10:02
Speaker 1: With his sons that he says, I'm going to keep
• 10:05
Speaker 1: Benjamin now. The reason he's holding on to Benjamin and
• 10:09
Speaker 1: he let the rest of them go is that Joseph
• 10:11
Speaker 1: and Benjamin were born to him by Rachel, and Rachel
• 10:15
Speaker 1: was the love of his life. And the reason he's
• 10:18
Speaker 1: holding on to Benjamin is because that's all he's got
• 10:22
Speaker 1: left of Rachel. And he says, if I lose Benjamin,
• 10:26
Speaker 1: I lose all I have left of the best days
• 10:30
Speaker 1: in my life. And sometimes we hold on to things
• 10:34
Speaker 1: because we've been through so much pain that we become possessive.
• 10:40
  Speaker 1: Oh y'all, don't hear what I'm saying. There's a reason
• 10:42
Speaker 1: you hold on to what you hold on, whether it's
• 10:45
Speaker 1: money or people or things, there's a reason you hold
• 10:48
Speaker 1: on to There's a reason that certain things make you mad.
• 10:51
Speaker 1: There's a reason that you overreact in certain ways. There's
• 10:54
Speaker 1: a reason that if we hit certain postpoints, you respond
• 10:58
Speaker 1: differently than other people, because until you understand what I've
• 11:01
Speaker 1: been through back here, you won't understand why I'm holding
• 11:05
Speaker 1: on to this right here? What do you hold on
• 11:08
Speaker 1: to because of what you've been through? What do you
• 11:13
Speaker 1: hold on to because of what you've been through? For
• 11:16
Speaker 1: Jacob the old man is holding on to the last
• 11:19
Speaker 1: smell of Rachel. When he holds Benjamin. It's the last
• 11:26
Speaker 1: reminder of a happier moment in his life. And he
• 11:31
Speaker 1: is so afraid of losing Benjamin because Rachel the Baron
• 11:37
Speaker 1: Woman has birth two sons unto him, and one of
• 11:42
Speaker 1: them Jacob thinks is dead and Benjamin is all he
• 11:47
Speaker 1: got left. Anytime you think this is all you got left,
• 11:51
Speaker 1: you will hold on real tight, whether it is true
• 11:57
Speaker 1: or not. You will hold on real tight if you
• 12:01
Speaker 1: think that this is the last person that will ever
• 12:04
Speaker 1: love you. You will take stuff that you wouldn't normally take.
• 12:11
Speaker 1: You will go through things you wouldn't normally go through.
• 12:13
Speaker 1: And your girlfriends will tell you if I was you,
• 12:15
Speaker 1: I wouldn't take that, And your mama told you you
• 12:18
Speaker 1: need to get away from there, But you keep holding
• 12:20
Speaker 1: on to it because you've been hurt before, and anytime
• 12:23
Speaker 1: you've been hurt before, you hold on to something when
• 12:26
Speaker 1: you think you won't get anymore. I wonder tonight how
• 12:29
Speaker 1: many people are holding on to some sort of Benjamin
• 12:32
Speaker 1: in your life, holding on to it out of fear,
• 12:36
Speaker 1: not out of love. He's not clutching him out of love.
• 12:39
Speaker 1: He's clutching him out of fear. Be careful what fear
• 12:42
Speaker 1: will make you do. And I'm looking at it. Jacob
• 12:45
Speaker 1: is an old man, and the older you get, the
• 12:48
Speaker 1: more precious everything becomes. And Jacob is holding on to Benjamin,
• 12:58
Speaker 1: and he's saying, Joseph is not, and now Simeon is not.
• 13:07
Speaker 1: You ain't taking my Benjamin. I'm wondering what you're squeezing
• 13:15
Speaker 1: too tight? What are you squeezing out of fear? See,
• 13:25
Speaker 1: Jacob isn't squeezing Benjamin out of faith. He's squeezing him
• 13:32
Speaker 1: out of fear. He's squeezing him like it's the last
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: thing he's.
• 13:38
  Speaker 2: Gonna ever get.
• 13:40
Speaker 1: You can't grow when you squeeze something like it's the
• 13:45
Speaker 1: last thing you're gonna ever get, even if it's squeezing
• 13:47
Speaker 1: money like it's the last you'll ever get. Then you
• 13:53
Speaker 1: have prophesied against yourself. You have you faith in reverse.
• 14:00
Speaker 1: There fear is faith in reverse. To have confidence that
• 14:03
Speaker 1: that thing, that you don't want is going to happen
• 14:06
Speaker 1: to you. He's holding the boy out of fear, and
• 14:12
Speaker 1: God is manipulating all of these circumstances to bring this
• 14:16
Speaker 1: family back together. He is wooing them back to a
• 14:20
Speaker 1: place so he can heal them. And wouldn't it be
• 14:25
Speaker 1: better to be healed than to be mad? And Jacob
• 14:34
Speaker 1: says to them, if I lose Benjamin, let me quote
• 14:40
Speaker 1: it just like you said. And he said, my son
• 14:41
Speaker 1: shall not go down with you, for his brother is
• 14:45
Speaker 1: dead and he is left alone. And if mishiefs befall
• 14:51
Speaker 1: him by the way, See how Jacob is still in
• 14:55
  Speaker 1: a place where.
• 14:56
Speaker 2: He don't trust them.
• 15:00
Speaker 1: Children, and he don't trust him, and he has good
• 15:03
Speaker 1: reason not to trust him.
• 15:06
Speaker 2: He said, you're not gonna get him.
• 15:08
Speaker 1: Let's mischief befall him by the way into witch she go.
• 15:13
Speaker 1: He says, if I go through with Benjamin what I
• 15:16
Speaker 1: went through with Joseph, my gray hairs are gonna turn
• 15:21
Speaker 1: him to sorrow and bring me to the grave. See,
• 15:27
Speaker 1: you get to a point in life that you've reached
• 15:28
Speaker 1: an age that you can't take no more pain.
• 15:35
Speaker 2: And he says, I can't afford to live through this again.
• 15:41
Speaker 1: And God is really behind it all, trying to pry
• 15:46
Speaker 1: Benjamin out of Jacob's hands, because what Jacob doesn't understand. Yes,
• 15:53
Speaker 1: sir Rod's been bumpy, and yes, sir D's been tough,
• 15:57
Speaker 1: and yes, sir, Road's been difficult, and yes you've shed
• 16:01
Speaker 1: some tears, and yes you've endured some pain.
• 16:05
Speaker 2: But it is the bumpy road to better. It is
• 16:15
Speaker 2: the bumpy road to better.
• 16:22
Speaker 1: I know a lot of people that are doing better
• 16:26
Speaker 1: than me and have more stuff and more money and
• 16:29
Speaker 1: more recognition and more fame and more whatever you want
• 16:32
Speaker 1: to count it by than me. But none of them
• 16:36
Speaker 1: that I know, have got there without a bumpy road.
• 16:42
Speaker 2: The road to better it is bumpy.
• 16:47
Speaker 1: So if you're on a bumpy road, I'm telling you.
• 16:51
Speaker 2: You're headed to better.
• 16:59
Speaker 1: Do you hear the words that are coming out of
• 17:01
Speaker 1: my mouth. You can't get to better without bumpy. You
• 17:06
Speaker 1: can't get to better without pain. You can't get to
• 17:09
Speaker 1: better without tears. You can't be all buff if you
• 17:12
Speaker 1: don't work out, you can't lose weight, if you don't
• 17:15
Speaker 1: push the food away. You can't get to better without bumpy.
• 17:18
Speaker 1: There is no pill you can take. There is no
• 17:21
Speaker 1: simple solution. It is the bumpiness of the road that
• 17:25
Speaker 1: leads you to better. Ultimately, Jacob will end up having
• 17:29
Speaker 1: to go to Egypt. And when Joseph sees his father,
• 17:41
Speaker 1: When Joseph sees his father, all of these years he's
• 17:47
Speaker 1: been living without the touch of his father, and all
• 17:55
Speaker 1: of a sudden he reveals himself, and he shows him
• 18:02
Speaker 1: who he is. The Bible says that one day those
• 18:06
Speaker 1: who rejected Jesus are gonna look on him whom they
• 18:10
Speaker 1: had pierced, and a nation shall be saved in a day.
• 18:16
Speaker 1: This day in the life of Joseph is a prophetic
• 18:21
Speaker 1: prediction of what will happen between Jesus and Israel, when
• 18:27
Speaker 1: all of a sudden they will look on him whom
• 18:29
Speaker 1: they appears, and finally recognize he was the Messiah. He
• 18:38
Speaker 1: is the lad of God, he is the i Am,
• 18:43
Speaker 1: He is the true Vibe, he is the living Bread,
• 18:48
Speaker 1: he is the manner that came down out of heaven.
• 18:51
  Speaker 1: He is. It wasn't a lie, it wasn't a job,
• 18:54
Speaker 1: it wasn't a philacy. And the family will be reunited again.
• 18:59
Speaker 2: And all of a sudden, and they.
• 19:00
Speaker 1: Beheld him whom they had thrown away, and they fell
• 19:04
Speaker 1: down and said, oh, Joseph, And they now realize that Joseph,
• 19:10
Speaker 1: everything he went through was to position him to bless them.
• 19:19
Speaker 2: Are y'all hearing what I'm saying?
• 19:22
Speaker 1: The reason God doesn't bless some people because you're selfish.
• 19:31
Speaker 1: The reason God didn't bless some people is because you're
• 19:34
Speaker 1: only interested in you, because you hate too long, and
• 19:40
Speaker 1: you're too angry, and you're too bitter to be trusted
• 19:43
Speaker 1: with that much power. God blesses people whose hearts are tender.
• 19:51
Speaker 1: And it was only when I saw Joseph's heart that
• 19:56
Speaker 1: I understood Joseph's blessing. Because Joejoseph was the son that
• 20:01
Speaker 1: could be trusted with favor, because he would not use
• 20:07
Speaker 1: his favor to get even, He would not use his
• 20:12
Speaker 1: favor for revenge. He would use his favor to bring
• 20:19
Speaker 1: them into better. And so Joseph brings the family to better.
• 20:29
Speaker 1: The whole family dwells together in better. And not only
• 20:32
Speaker 1: does he bring them to better, he releases the guilt
• 20:37
Speaker 1: from the guilty. It's one thing to absolve the innocent,
• 20:45
Speaker 1: but it's another thing to equit the guilty. He absolved
• 20:51
Speaker 1: the guilty because he was big enough to be blessed
• 20:57
Speaker 1: like that. He was big enough to be blessed like that,
• 21:02
Speaker 1: He was strong enough to be blessed like that. And
• 21:06
Speaker 1: that's why he was chosen from the very beginning that
• 21:10
Speaker 1: God trusted him with trouble. God trusted him with rejection,
• 21:14
Speaker 1: God trusting him with pain. God trusted him with agony
• 21:18
Speaker 1: because God knew his heart that when push came to shove,
• 21:23
Speaker 1: that love would always went out over revenge. God knew
• 21:27
Speaker 1: his heart that there was something down inside of him
• 21:31
Speaker 1: that was better than that. And if you want the
• 21:35
Speaker 1: favor of God in your life, you have to be
• 21:38
Speaker 1: prepared to ask yourself, can God trust you with favor?
• 21:43
Speaker 1: Can God trust you with power? Can God trust you
• 21:48
Speaker 1: with honor? Because until that answer is a resounding yes,
• 21:57
Speaker 1: the doors of your blessing will be close. They're clds
• 22:02
Speaker 1: because you are too angry and too bitter and too vindictive.
• 22:07
Speaker 1: And God can't give you favor because you'll use it
• 22:11
Speaker 1: like witchcraft to bring curcious on those who hurt you.
• 22:18
Speaker 1: And you'll know you're getting bigger when you start getting better.
• 22:24
Speaker 1: You've been praying to be bigger. You should have been
• 22:27
Speaker 1: praying to be better. There's somebody watching me right now,
• 22:34
Speaker 1: there's no reason in the world that somebody as talented
• 22:37
Speaker 1: to you as you are shouldn't be further than you are.
• 22:42
Speaker 1: You have the talent to go all the way to
• 22:46
Speaker 1: the top, but every time you try to go to
• 22:50
Speaker 1: the top, something blocks you.
• 22:52
Speaker 2: And God send me to tell you it's not what's
• 22:54
Speaker 2: on the outside that's blocked you.
• 22:57
Speaker 1: It's the stuff you carry on the ins that always
• 23:01
Speaker 1: blocks you because you're so slick, and God has to
• 23:09
Speaker 1: keep showing you that you ain't as slick as you
• 23:11
Speaker 1: think you are, and your blessing has been delayed, and
• 23:15
Speaker 1: you wandered in the wilderness of almost getting there and
• 23:19
Speaker 1: never being able to get there because you've never been
• 23:22
Speaker 1: able to get your heart to the place that you
• 23:25
Speaker 1: could be trusted. God gives favor to people he can trust,
• 23:43
Speaker 1: but you are so transactional.
• 23:48
Speaker 2: Everything is a way.
• 23:50
Speaker 1: For you to manipulate, and so you never get better.
• 23:56
Speaker 1: The Bible says none but the pure in heart shall
• 24:00
Speaker 1: seek God. The word pure in the Greek is why
• 24:05
Speaker 1: we get the word catheter. And there is no way
• 24:09
Speaker 1: for you to see God until you put a catheter
• 24:13
Speaker 1: into your heart and get rid of the bitterness that
• 24:16
Speaker 1: is blocking you from your blessing. I'm still talking about
• 24:22
Speaker 1: the bumpy road to better as I closed tonight, I
• 24:33
Speaker 1: challenge you a look at Genesis forty two, and even
• 24:37
Speaker 1: going into Genesis forty three, and watch.
• 24:40
  Speaker 2: God bring Jacob.
• 24:45
Speaker 1: And his voice into a state of blessings that does
• 24:51
Speaker 1: not fade away. Samuel servert under Eli, and that there
• 24:59
Speaker 1: was the word of the Lord was scarce and or rare,
• 25:04
Speaker 1: and there was no open vision. It's a hint, It's
• 25:11
Speaker 1: a preview. See, Samuel is not so much Eli's successor.
• 25:22
Speaker 1: You don't use Samuel as Eli's successor like Elijah and Elijah,
• 25:31
Speaker 1: like Paul and Timothy. Not only are they not in
• 25:34
Speaker 1: the same chain, they're not of the same order. Eli
• 25:40
Speaker 1: is a priest. Samuel is a prophet. Perhaps one of
• 25:52
Speaker 1: the greatest prophets of the Old Testament is Samuel. And
• 25:58
Speaker 1: what God has done, He has forced a prophet.
• 26:05
Speaker 2: Into the house of a priest.
• 26:10
Speaker 1: This is the beginning of the formation of the Messiah,
• 26:16
Speaker 1: who is prophet. You see see, so we all we
• 26:27
Speaker 1: have up until now is priest. But out of the
• 26:31
Speaker 1: barrenness of Hannah's womb doesn't come Eli's successor. It becomes
• 26:38
  Speaker 1: Eli's prophets.
• 26:41
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 26:42
Speaker 1: And the reason the prophet had to come next is
• 26:46
Speaker 1: that the prophet is the one who annoys the king.
• 26:53
Speaker 1: God got an order he don't even explain to you.
• 26:56
Speaker 1: He does stup for his own reason. He's got his
• 27:00
Speaker 1: own methodology. He works all things according to the purpose
• 27:04
Speaker 1: of his own wheels, say man.
• 27:07
Speaker 3: So we are watching the shift.
• 27:11
Speaker 1: Between the priest to the prophet. The prophet is under
• 27:19
Speaker 1: the priest. Before it's over, the priest is gonna be
• 27:27
Speaker 1: under the prophets a double chef.
• 27:30
Speaker 2: Ta see, you can kind.
• 27:32
Speaker 1: Of Oh God, I want to go see when when
• 27:36
Speaker 1: we worship, when we praise, when we give offerings, we're
• 27:40
Speaker 1: working like priests. When I get up to preach, I'm
• 27:43
Speaker 1: working like a prophet. Hallelujah. So Ah, while you're worshiping,
• 27:48
Speaker 1: I'm up under you. But when I get up to preach,
• 27:52
Speaker 1: you're up under this annoying. We just we just acted
• 27:56
Speaker 1: out what the texta is all about. If the priest
• 27:59
Speaker 1: comes first, here comes a prophet. You provoke the word
• 28:04
Speaker 1: of God by how you worship. You provoke the Word
• 28:08
Speaker 1: of God by how you lift him up. You provoke
• 28:11
Speaker 1: the word of God by how you lift your hands
• 28:13
Speaker 1: and raise your hand the priest comes before the prophet
• 28:17
Speaker 1: is released. This is not just a succession. This is
• 28:23
Speaker 1: a transformation, This is a revolution, this is a move.
• 28:31
Speaker 1: And the irony of it is they said, the word
• 28:35
Speaker 1: of the Lord was scarce in those days, and there
• 28:38
Speaker 1: was no open vision, and yet the prophet was growing
• 28:45
Speaker 1: in the scarcity. Y'all can't handle this. Prosperity grows in poverty.
• 29:01
Speaker 1: That's why the Bible said, let the poor say that
• 29:03
Speaker 1: I'm let the weak say that I'm see You can
• 29:09
Speaker 1: you can. You can be weak on top and be
• 29:12
Speaker 1: strong underneath. You're gonna hear what I'm saying. You can
• 29:17
Speaker 1: be poor on topa and have prosperity growing up under you.
• 29:21
Speaker 1: It does not yet appear what you shall be, but
• 29:25
Speaker 1: it's still growing up. That's why you see an IV
• 29:29
Speaker 1: because a prophet is still a boy, but he's coming.
• 29:32
  Speaker 1: He's coming. He's coming, he's coming, he's coming. Your prophecy
• 29:36
Speaker 1: is still a boy, but it's coming, is coming, is coming.
• 29:39
Speaker 2: It's up under your priesthood.
• 29:42
Speaker 1: That that's why I'm trying to get you to worship,
• 29:44
Speaker 1: because when you worship, you're getting closer to releasing that
• 29:48
Speaker 1: prophetic utterance that exists in your life. And that's why
• 29:52
Speaker 1: the devil doesn't want you to worship, because worship makes
• 29:55
Speaker 1: the water break, it makes the baby give birth, it
• 30:00
Speaker 1: releases a prophetic, utterant side. Somebody shall yes. And then
• 30:11
Speaker 1: I want to point out the extreme generational change. It
• 30:19
Speaker 1: is not that Samuel and Eli just represent two generations.
• 30:28
Speaker 1: The truth of the matter is Eli is a boy.
• 30:32
Speaker 1: I mean Samuel is a boy. When Eli is an
• 30:36
Speaker 1: old man, Samuel is young enough to be huff nay son.
• 30:45
Speaker 1: So you got this grandfather character who is old and
• 30:52
Speaker 1: the other extreme is a boy is in the house.
• 31:03
Speaker 1: And it is an extreme shift. It's gonna skip a generation.
• 31:18
Speaker 1: You don't see it where you thought you would see it,
• 31:22
Speaker 1: But here it comes from the place you didn't expect
• 31:26
Speaker 1: to see it, from a person you didn't expect to
• 31:29
Speaker 1: see it, from a woman that you thought was drunk.
• 31:34
Speaker 1: Here comes the change that God's gonna bring in your life.
• 31:38
Speaker 1: That's why you got to stop looking down your nose
• 31:41
Speaker 1: at people are and calling people out their name, because
• 31:44
Speaker 1: sometimes God or you somebody you thought was drunk to
• 31:48
Speaker 1: be the next level of blessing in your life. Somebody
• 31:53
Speaker 1: holler for me. I feel like hollering this morning. I
• 31:56
Speaker 1: feel like screaming this morning. And then when I was
• 32:07
Speaker 1: praying about it, the Lord said, I want you to
• 32:11
Speaker 1: tell them in the night shift, the light shimmers. In
• 32:19
Speaker 1: the night shift, the light shimmers. Night doesn't mean total blackout,
• 32:29
Speaker 1: It says, and ere the lamp of God went out.
• 32:33
Speaker 2: Now, you all were.
• 32:34
Speaker 1: Raised with electric lights, and I was too, But when
• 32:38
Speaker 1: I went to my grandmother's house, they would have candle
• 32:41
Speaker 1: lights and oil lamps. And when the lamps were going out,
• 32:45
Speaker 1: as they start to go out, they flicker, flickering.
• 32:53
  Speaker 2: The night.
• 32:55
Speaker 1: Has shimmering light, moments of illumine, glimpses, shadows, moments of revelation,
• 33:12
Speaker 1: moments of insight. You can't see it clearly because it's shimmering,
• 33:20
Speaker 1: but you've cut glimpses. You would have fainted, but you
• 33:25
Speaker 1: caught shimmers of light every time the devil buddy had you,
• 33:29
Speaker 1: God let the light shimmer. You're steal in the night season.
• 33:34
Speaker 1: But you got a flicker of light. You got a
• 33:37
Speaker 1: flicker of light, And sometimes a flicker is all you need.
• 33:42
Speaker 1: If you get a flicker of light, you can hold
• 33:44
Speaker 1: on a little while longer. Some of y'all came out
• 33:48
Speaker 1: with a flicker of light. You're like the woman who
• 33:51
Speaker 1: said I don't need the loaf. If I get a crumb,
• 33:55
  Speaker 1: I'll come out on a crumb. I wish I had
• 33:57
Speaker 1: some crumby people come out on a crumb.
• 34:01
Speaker 3: If you give me.
• 34:02
Speaker 1: A half a chance, I'll scratch myself out the rest
• 34:06
Speaker 1: of the way. I may not half daylight, but if
• 34:09
Speaker 1: I got shimmering light, if I know two scriptures, if
• 34:14
Speaker 1: I know one and a half scriptures, if I can
• 34:17
Speaker 1: sing a little bit, I may not be on the
• 34:20
Speaker 1: praise team. But if I can sing while I'm doing
• 34:23
Speaker 1: my dishes, I can break her yo over my house.
• 34:27
Speaker 1: I want to talk to some people that are standing
• 34:30
Speaker 1: in shimmering light. Make some noise. The old man couldn't
• 34:37
Speaker 1: hear him. Now the Bible said he couldn't see, but
• 34:40
Speaker 1: he didn't sing nothing about his ears. But he cannot
• 34:47
Speaker 1: hear what the young man can hear. The young man
• 34:51
Speaker 1: can hear God, and he can hear God to the
• 34:55
Speaker 1: point that he's disruptive, anxious, irritated, disturbs his sleeping cheaps
• 35:03
Speaker 1: getting up again. Some of you can hear God so clear,
• 35:07
Speaker 1: and then when you try to act on what God
• 35:09
Speaker 1: told you to do, they send you back, and when
• 35:15
Speaker 1: they send you back, it plays into your rejection issues.
• 35:18
Speaker 1: It plays until your abandonment issues, and you think they
• 35:21
Speaker 1: don't believe in you because they send you back. But
• 35:24
Speaker 1: they're sending you back because they don't hear what you hear.
• 35:32
Speaker 1: All they can do is send you back because they
• 35:35
Speaker 1: haven't heard what you're heard. Somebody holler, I hear it.
• 35:41
Speaker 1: My money is not right, but I hear it. My
• 35:45
Speaker 1: friends are not right, but I hear it. I don't
• 35:48
Speaker 1: have no building for it, but I hear it. Somebody holler,
• 35:51
Speaker 1: I hear it. I'm preaching that. Somebody on line. I
• 35:55
Speaker 1: hear it. It won't let me rest. It won't let
• 35:58
Speaker 1: me rest. It won't let me lay down. He won't
• 36:00
Speaker 1: let me speak because I keep hearing it. I don't
• 36:03
Speaker 1: know how to do it, but I hear it. Now
• 36:11
Speaker 1: was just this is why we can't throw eager extremes away.
• 36:16
Speaker 1: I'm not talking about you and your parents. I'm talking
• 36:18
  Speaker 1: about from grandparent.
• 36:21
  Speaker 2: On down.
• 36:24
Speaker 1: Eli can't hear it, but he can interpret it. Samuel
• 36:35
Speaker 1: can hear it, but he don't know what to do
• 36:38
Speaker 1: with it. So when Eli perceives that the Lord had
• 36:44
Speaker 1: called him not only did he perceive that God had
• 36:47
  Speaker 1: called him.
• 36:48
Speaker 2: He told him what to say.
• 36:54
Speaker 1: See some of us. God has kept us in the
• 36:57
Speaker 1: earth just to tell you what to do what you got.
• 37:01
Speaker 1: We're not trying to control you. We're trying to stop
• 37:05
Speaker 1: the vicious cycle of going back and forth and back
• 37:09
Speaker 1: and forth, and back and forth and back and forth.
• 37:11
Speaker 1: So which we're gonna script you. It's gonna be your job.
• 37:17
Speaker 1: You're anointing. I'm just giving you the script, so Eli
• 37:23
Speaker 1: told him. Then Eli said, go back and lay down
• 37:29
Speaker 1: in your place. In other words, go back and be
• 37:34
Speaker 1: where God expects you to be. Adam, where art thou.
• 37:39
Speaker 1: You're not in the meeting place. Moses built a tabernacle
• 37:46
Speaker 1: in the wild. And if what is tabernacle, it's a
• 37:51
Speaker 1: When God sent Jesus, he sent divinity to humanity. Because
• 37:56
Speaker 1: Jesus is a I am the way, the truth, and
• 38:01
Speaker 1: the life. No man coming them to the Father say me,
• 38:04
Speaker 1: come by me. Go back to the meeting place and
• 38:07
Speaker 1: lay down, and if he calls you again. This is
• 38:15
Speaker 1: the humility of the text. I cannot assume that I
• 38:26
Speaker 1: have endless opportunities to go back and forth. I don't
• 38:35
Speaker 1: know if you're gonna call me again. But if you
• 38:40
Speaker 1: call me again, I know what to say now because
• 38:44
Speaker 1: I have served under Eli. So there's this big argument
• 38:51
Speaker 1: going on in the world in some parts of the
• 38:53
Speaker 1: world today, a generational argument between the former and the latter,
• 39:00
Speaker 1: and they're arguing over who's relevant, who they both are,
• 39:08
Speaker 1: the reason they both are. He called the young because
• 39:10
  Speaker 1: they're strong.
• 39:11
Speaker 2: He called the old.
• 39:11
Speaker 1: Because they they know the way. They know the way.
• 39:16
Speaker 1: Eli was old, but he knew the way. He couldn't
• 39:19
Speaker 1: run the place, but he knew the way. You understand
• 39:24
Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. So one doesn't operate independent of
• 39:28
Speaker 1: the other. So the day shift can't go home before
• 39:36
Speaker 1: the night shift comes on. The knight shift can't go
• 39:43
Speaker 1: home until the day shift comes back. And God said,
• 39:47
Speaker 1: until you learn how to work interdependently, you will never
• 39:54
Speaker 1: be effective. Because I can't run the plays anymore, but
• 40:00
Speaker 1: I know how to play the game. The challenge of
• 40:13
Speaker 1: the older generation is to not be jealous of the
• 40:18
Speaker 1: younger generation to the point that you won't give them
• 40:24
Speaker 1: the benefit of what you learn. The challenge of the
• 40:33
Speaker 1: younger generation is to understand that some old systems still work,
• 40:43
Speaker 1: and in your desire to be innovative, there are still
• 40:48
Speaker 1: some laws you can't break, and one of them is
• 40:52
Speaker 1: to lay down in the right place.
• 40:55
Speaker 3: And wait on the Lord.
• 40:58
Speaker 1: And if I can't make it call you, that's how time.
• 41:06
Speaker 1: I can't make it call you. I can't make it seek.
• 41:12
Speaker 1: I can't even make you go to the place. But
• 41:14
Speaker 1: if you go back to the place, see.
• 41:22
Speaker 2: I gotta stop. The powerful thing to me.
• 41:27
Speaker 1: About watching you run around the stage and preach is
• 41:34
Speaker 1: I remember you as a little girl sitting right over
• 41:38
Speaker 1: there in the corner with your head down, to come
• 41:44
Speaker 1: back full circle to the place. God said, I'm a
• 41:59
Speaker 1: blame you, right right in the place where you felt rejection,
• 42:05
Speaker 1: right in the place where you felt disgraced, right in
• 42:08
Speaker 1: the place where you felt shame, right in the place
• 42:10
Speaker 1: where you thought nobody would ever accept you, Right in
• 42:13
Speaker 1: the place where you thought you'd never be anybody. God said,
• 42:15
Speaker 1: that's still a place, And I'm gonna bring you back
• 42:18
Speaker 1: to the place. I'm gonna bring you right back to
• 42:20
Speaker 1: the spot, to the spot, to the very spot. Show
• 42:25
Speaker 1: me where you laid him down, show me where you
• 42:27
Speaker 1: came up, show me where you wanted to quit, show
• 42:31
Speaker 1: me where you wanted to run from, show me where
• 42:33
Speaker 1: you're trying to hide from.
• 42:35
Speaker 3: I'm gonna bring you right back to the blade. Sign
• 42:38
  Speaker 3: you up.
• 42:50
Speaker 1: See they shall because they see the woman preaching. I'm
• 42:54
Speaker 1: over here showing because I see the little girl preaching.
• 42:58
Speaker 1: I see the little girl preacher who thought her life
• 43:01
Speaker 1: was over. That's what I'm shouting about, because you always
• 43:06
