- 21:51Speaker 8: her differently. I'm gonna ask her about that, looking forward
- 21:54Speaker 8: to our conversation here shortly. In the meantime, let's bring
- 21:57Speaker 8: in Joelina from the UN News Department as part of
- 22:00Speaker 8: Ruckus Avenue Radio's partnership.
- 22:02Speaker 1: With the UN News.
- 22:04Speaker 21: This is UN News Today with me Chilina Dong the headlines.
- 22:07Speaker 21: Early detection of the deadly and rare ebola strain in
- 22:10Speaker 21: dr Congo is critical, says WHO, as new treatment trials
- 22:14Speaker 21: get underway. The UN Rights Office are just stronger protections
- 22:17Speaker 21: for child safety online, and the UN World Food Program
- 22:21Speaker 21: scales up emergency response in South Sudan as catastrophic hunger
- 22:25Speaker 21: and malnutrition deepens. Two weeks into the latest ebola outbreak,
- 22:32Speaker 21: the UN World Health Organization WHO has estimated that there
- 22:35Speaker 21: are nine hundred and six suspected cases of abola in
- 22:38Speaker 21: the Democratic Republic of the Congo DRC, including two hundred
- 22:42Speaker 21: and twenty three suspected debts. Since the fifteenth of May,
- 22:46Speaker 21: UN agencies have been supporting both the DRC and neighboring
- 22:49Speaker 21: Uganda to contain the outbreak caused by the rare bundibugio strain,
- 22:52Speaker 21: which spreads through close contact. Ni East Lagan, a WHO
- 22:57Speaker 21: technical officer, told reporters in Geneva on Friday.
- 23:00Speaker 13: It's a disease that you get when you care for someone,
- 23:04Speaker 13: when you care for your husband or your partner, or
- 23:07Speaker 13: your child or your mother. You get it when you
- 23:10Speaker 13: want to help someone with sick with symptom and this
- 23:13Speaker 13: is terrible because this disease. To avoid getting it, you
- 23:17Speaker 13: have to have communities not to touch someone they love
- 23:23Speaker 13: when they are feeling sick.
- 23:26Speaker 4: But this is critical.
- 23:27Speaker 21: Based on previous outbreaks. The lethality ranges between thirty and
- 23:30Speaker 21: fifty percent. Early detection and community mobilization remain critical to
- 23:35Speaker 21: saving lives, with potential treatment and vaccines still being assessed
- 23:39Speaker 21: WHSAD on Friday for confirmed cases, three candidate therapeutics for
- 23:44Speaker 21: treatment have been prioritized for clinical trials mistagone revealed, while
- 23:48Speaker 21: a preventative treatment is also being prioritized for those who
- 23:52Speaker 21: have been in contact with confirmed cases. Meanwhile, the U
- 23:57Speaker 21: and Human Rights Offices calling on governments and technology companies
- 24:00Speaker 21: to do more to protect children online, warning that digital
- 24:03Speaker 21: platforms often expose young viewers to risks that threaten their safety,
- 24:07Speaker 21: privacy and well being. High Commissioner Voker Turk said online
- 24:12Speaker 21: harms are not inevitable, but are often the result of
- 24:14Speaker 21: platform design choices, including features that encourage excessive use. He
- 24:19Speaker 21: stressed that protecting children online is an urgent priority, but
- 24:22Speaker 21: caution against relying solely on blanket social media bands. His office,
- 24:27Speaker 21: OHCCHR has released a new set of guidelines Getting Children's
- 24:31Speaker 21: Safety Online Right, which calls for safer platform design, stronger oversight,
- 24:36Speaker 21: greater accountability for tech companies, and better protections. The recommendations
- 24:41Speaker 21: also encourage governments to involve children in shaping online safety
- 24:45Speaker 21: policies and to ensure that age verification measures do not
- 24:48Speaker 21: create new privacy risks. The UN warns that restrictions based
- 24:53Speaker 21: only on age may fail to address the underlying features
- 24:56Speaker 21: that make platforms unsafe and could push children towards less
- 24:59Speaker 21: regular online spaces. Turning to South Sudan finally, where the
- 25:04Speaker 21: World Food Program has scaled up its emergency response in
- 25:07Speaker 21: a Cobo East, delivering vital food and nutrition assistance to
- 25:10Speaker 21: hundreds of thousands of people facing catastrophic hunger and malnutrition.
- 25:15Speaker 21: The move follows an uptick in violence in early March,
- 25:18Speaker 21: which displaced approximately one hundred and forty two thousand people
- 25:21Speaker 21: from a Coobo County and surrounding areas. Our hope is
- 25:25Speaker 21: to continue to reach people in need. Sustain safety and
- 25:27Speaker 21: security of humanitarians and humanitarian cargo is therefore crucial, said
- 25:32Speaker 21: Mutinsa Chumuca, WFP Country Director in South Sudan. According to
- 25:37Speaker 21: the latest Global Famine Alert System update, parts of Akobo
- 25:40Speaker 21: County are experiencing catastrophic levels of hunger, with one of
- 25:44Speaker 21: four counties at risk of famine if conditions deteriorate. Meanwhile,
- 25:49Speaker 21: severe malnutrition among children under five and breastfeeding mothers is
- 25:53Speaker 21: rising sharply. Since launching its emergency response three weeks ago,
- 25:58Speaker 21: WFP has reached more than sixty three thousand vulnerable people
- 26:01Speaker 21: in Akobo, including more than fifteen thousand people with emergency
- 26:04Speaker 21: food assistants, despite eight operations being hampered by insecurity infrastructure
- 26:09Speaker 21: damage in the raining season. Julina Dong you went news.

- 27:13Speaker 9: Son, go the love with.
- 27:22Speaker 6: With Keep with us America that they come with a
- 27:26Speaker 6: Sara in America. Manassamada Shamada time, the game Manga Maga

- 28:36Speaker 8: line with us.

- 28:40Speaker 4: Thank you so much.
- 28:41Speaker 9: How are you?
- 28:41Speaker 8: We're doing well. We're doing well. I have just been
- 28:44Speaker 8: dying to ask you this. You know, when I watch you,
- 28:48Speaker 8: I get this feeling. If there's one word for me
- 28:51Speaker 8: to describe you, it's the word free. I get that
- 28:56Speaker 8: you are well connected to your spiritual internals, to what
- 29:01Speaker 8: you're presenting on stage. It all feels so cohesive. Am
- 29:06Speaker 8: I correct by putting the word free attached to you?
- 29:12Speaker 4: I think you one hundred percent correct because I relate
- 29:15Speaker 4: with it the most, the word free, and that's how
- 29:19Speaker 4: I approach my music while creating it. I want it
- 29:22Speaker 4: to be free.
- 29:23Speaker 1: I want it to be.
- 29:25Speaker 4: Just really come through me and reach people. Yeah, it
- 29:29Speaker 4: shouldn't have any boundations. It shouldn't have any limits. Is
- 29:34Speaker 4: just free. So yes, you're correct. Thank you so much
- 29:38Speaker 4: for relating with it.
- 29:38Speaker 8: I was going to ask you for a different word,
- 29:40Speaker 8: but I guess you'll you'll agree with me and keep
- 29:42Speaker 8: that one easy. That's that's pretty awesome. I really feel
- 29:45Speaker 8: that way. I've seen you listen to music, I've seen
- 29:49Speaker 8: you on stage, and I just feel like it whatever
- 29:52Speaker 8: moves you moves you, and which brings me to my
- 29:54Speaker 8: next question. I feel like there's this natural marriage between
- 29:57Speaker 8: the music that you make your fis expression on stage,
- 30:01Speaker 8: even to the music that you have brought into your repertoire,
- 30:05Speaker 8: be it afrobeats or whatever else.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Talk about that.
- 30:08Speaker 8: We talk about your freedom in terms of working with
- 30:11Speaker 8: so many different genres out there and almost blending in seamlessly.
- 30:19Speaker 4: I've been creating music, Sammy when it's been like eight
- 30:23Speaker 4: nine years, and it has been deeply connected to freedom
- 30:28Speaker 4: because I come from a Gurbani some leap background. My
- 30:31Speaker 4: mom taught me gurbani when I was a little kid,
- 30:35Speaker 4: and that gave me the like that's my foundation of music.
- 30:40Speaker 4: And after that I started learning Indian classical music, so
- 30:43Speaker 4: that made my vocal texture.
- 30:46Speaker 9: Very.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Strong bold. I would say that you can blend into
- 30:52Speaker 4: any other genre very easily and very smoothly. And freedom
- 30:57Speaker 4: to blend sounds, languages, cultures is what I want to
- 31:00Speaker 4: represent in my music. While you know, creating and while
- 31:05Speaker 4: performing live for people, I want to just connect, don't
- 31:08Speaker 4: think about anything else, and I just want to be
- 31:10Speaker 4: in present and connect with all my audiences listeners in
- 31:14Speaker 4: the most authentic way possible. So I think that is
- 31:17Speaker 4: what I put into music, whether it's a songwriting session
- 31:23Speaker 4: or collaborating with so many artists, or just like I
- 31:27Speaker 4: just want to be myself.
- 31:29Speaker 8: I get that, I really do, and I think the
- 31:31Speaker 8: audience gets that about you. And we're watching this story unfolds.
- 31:35Speaker 8: It's remarkable. You've made movements now into the international space
- 31:40Speaker 8: and here you are getting ready for a tour and
- 31:43Speaker 8: what I expect to be a pretty bright presence here
- 31:45Speaker 8: across North America in the summer, you know, going from
- 31:49Speaker 8: a young Punjabi girl singing over there in India to
- 31:52Speaker 8: now taking the stage again across the world.
- 31:55Speaker 1: How does that feel for you?
- 31:57Speaker 8: What is the little girl inside of you reacting to
- 32:00Speaker 8: whenever you see these new things happening in your life.
- 32:03Speaker 4: The little girl is. We're really happy. She's jumping all
- 32:10Speaker 4: the time that her dreams are coming true. She gets
- 32:13Speaker 4: to do whatever she wanted to do when she was
- 32:15Speaker 4: a little kid. I actually never imagined to be able
- 32:21Speaker 4: to do this on this level, Sammy, to be honest
- 32:24Speaker 4: with you, I always I was looking at it as
- 32:27Speaker 4: a hobby. Initially. I was always focusing on my studies.
- 32:31Speaker 4: I wanted to do science. I wanted to explore education
- 32:35Speaker 4: more than music or any art form. So I always
- 32:41Speaker 4: say this that music chose me. It's not me who
- 32:45Speaker 4: chose music. And now that I get to get to
- 32:49Speaker 4: live my big dream and I'm taking it to the
- 32:52Speaker 4: global stages and people are connecting with my music and
- 32:56Speaker 4: all the regions, all the countries, and they are sending
- 32:59Speaker 4: me messages every day, and uh, it just makes me
- 33:04Speaker 4: more like makes me me feel more blessed every day.
- 33:09Speaker 4: And I I say this, Harvelishuka every time that I
- 33:15Speaker 4: talk to people, that it's the biggest blessing of my
- 33:18Speaker 4: life that I get to do what I always imagine
- 33:20Speaker 4: to And I grew up listening to Punjabi culture, folk music,
- 33:24Speaker 4: and today I think I feel proud that I I
- 33:29Speaker 4: get to perform that music. I get to show that
- 33:32Speaker 4: side of me through my fusion side and all that
- 33:36Speaker 4: I have learned all these years, incorporating those different blends
- 33:42Speaker 4: of music, different different influences from different regions, whether it's
- 33:46Speaker 4: Tom Mish Musago Doja Katchi from the West and nu
- 33:51Speaker 4: Jaha rash Maji Abi Da Parvinceab and Syrinder Kaji, all
- 33:59Speaker 4: those influences coming together. Yeah in real know, yeah, yeah,
- 34:05Speaker 4: And if you I mean, thank you so much. You
- 34:08Speaker 4: hear it and people connect with it. I think that's
- 34:11Speaker 4: the biggest blessing and I I am very grateful that
- 34:15Speaker 4: people connect with my music.
- 34:16Speaker 8: Well, well, grateful that you're doing this for Shmid Really,
- 34:19Speaker 8: you know, there's a part of this business that people
- 34:22Speaker 8: sometimes overlook. One is the performing artist that everybody gets
- 34:27Speaker 8: to see, and then there's this other side of the business,
- 34:30Speaker 8: which is the actual the business side, and a lot
- 34:33Speaker 8: of people don't really get to see that that is
- 34:35Speaker 8: equally as important as what happens on stage.
- 34:38Speaker 14: You know.
- 34:38Speaker 1: You in the past, you've yeah, and in the past.
- 34:41Speaker 8: You have referenced artists out there, people like you know,
- 34:44Speaker 8: whether it's the Russets of the world or the Rosalias
- 34:47Speaker 8: of the world. There's so many great artists out there
- 34:48Speaker 8: in the past that you have referred to as people
- 34:51Speaker 8: that you look up to. You know, those people have
- 34:53Speaker 8: also done things very uniquely when it comes to the
- 34:56Speaker 8: business of it. They remained fiercely independent. They've governed themselves
- 35:01Speaker 8: in a way where they could be let's just say, nimble,
- 35:04Speaker 8: able to do a lot of different things. And you
- 35:06Speaker 8: strike me as somebody like that is that part of
- 35:09Speaker 8: the plan for you? Are you planning on remaining as
- 35:12Speaker 8: independent as possible so you can be this free artist?
- 35:21Speaker 4: I okay, let me take you back a little bit. Yeah,
- 35:25Speaker 4: when I am from Punjab, like I was born in
- 35:30Speaker 4: Punjab and I was raised in Delhi, so I spent
- 35:34Speaker 4: most of my life like two decades in Delhi and
- 35:35Speaker 4: then I moved to Bombay, which is the hub for
- 35:39Speaker 4: music and for Bollywood music and film music industry. So
- 35:44Speaker 4: independent for me came in my life much later. Like
- 35:52Speaker 4: I would say, twenty nineteen is the year when I
- 35:55Speaker 4: started releasing my own music and I started digging in poetry.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Is of Bullisha Shao Sen and so many other poets
- 36:05Speaker 4: Unjobi poetry or do poetry. That is when I start
- 36:08Speaker 4: experimenting with my rias that I learned all these years,
- 36:14Speaker 4: my child from my childhood, and blending it into all
- 36:17Speaker 4: these influences that you're talking about Rosalias and Russes. Like
- 36:23Speaker 4: I think it progressed with time, It kept evolving with time,
- 36:28Speaker 4: and I really look up to all these artists who
- 36:30Speaker 4: have built their own path and stayed true to themselves
- 36:34Speaker 4: while doing it. I was saying, it's not It's about
- 36:38Speaker 4: having the freedom to make my own choices, my creative
- 36:42Speaker 4: decisions when it comes to my music, videos or any visual,
- 36:48Speaker 4: any kind of representation, you know, whether it's visual or
- 36:50Speaker 4: my audio. I definitely value that that that spirit a lot.
- 36:54Speaker 4: And right now I'm enjoying exploring my artistry in very
- 36:57Speaker 4: free and hands on ways. If if we talk about
- 37:01Speaker 4: the business side of it, yes, I look up to
- 37:03Speaker 4: all these artists, how they market their albums, how they
- 37:08Speaker 4: plan their rollout for their albums, and their EPs and
- 37:11Speaker 4: their singles. There's so many people who I look up to,
- 37:15Speaker 4: and I always want to protect that sense of honesty
- 37:18Speaker 4: while doing it. And no matter how big the journey becomes,
- 37:24Speaker 4: I want to stay through to my art and I
- 37:26Speaker 4: want to stay through to my way of looking at it.
- 37:30Speaker 8: I would not have that makes sense, Yeah, totally. In fact, Rachmith,
- 37:34Speaker 8: I would not have expected any other answer from you.
- 37:36Speaker 8: When I wrote this question down, my thought was, I
- 37:39Speaker 8: have a feeling what what I'm going to hear from
- 37:41Speaker 8: rich Meat. But it's it's it's important that we hear
- 37:44Speaker 8: from you, because I think it's right in line with
- 37:46Speaker 8: how we've viewed you as an artist.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Out there, you know, spiritually free all the artists so much.
- 37:53Speaker 8: Yeah, we see it, and you know, all the artists
- 37:56Speaker 8: that you mentioned, they all are seeping out of you
- 37:59Speaker 8: in the vocals and in each texture and each heater,
- 38:02Speaker 8: as we say, in your vocals. So it's amazing to
- 38:05Speaker 8: see Richmith. I just have a couple of questions before
- 38:08Speaker 8: we let you go here. My first one is again
- 38:11Speaker 8: a little bit maybe to do with a personal thing
- 38:15Speaker 8: of yours, which is, you know, there's a little girl
- 38:17Speaker 8: somewhere in Punjab right now that is looking at you
- 38:21Speaker 8: as with wide eyes, thinking of you as and rightfully
- 38:26Speaker 8: so is one of the coolest things that they've ever
- 38:28Speaker 8: laid their eyes on, be it from a musical level,
- 38:31Speaker 8: from a cultural level, from a spiritual level. You blend
- 38:35Speaker 8: all these things so, well, what would you say to
- 38:38Speaker 8: that young girl that is looking at you right now
- 38:40Speaker 8: saying I want to be like rish Meath And what
- 38:42Speaker 8: is the advice you would give her.
- 38:47Speaker 4: There's so many young girls who are actually texting me
- 38:53Speaker 4: very sequently, Sumpunjab, and it's happening more often, and I
- 38:57Speaker 4: again truly feel blessed to be able to connect with
- 39:01Speaker 4: young girls, boys and everybody whoever is texting me on
- 39:06Speaker 4: everyday basis because it's so easy to now reach out
- 39:09Speaker 4: to people and artists and convey your whatever you want
- 39:13Speaker 4: to say hard too heart to them. So it's a
- 39:15Speaker 4: beautiful thing.
- 39:16Speaker 1: And I would just say that.
- 39:21Speaker 4: I think many of us who made to feel like
- 39:23Speaker 4: we had to fit into our one fit into one
- 39:26Speaker 4: version of ourselves. But I want people, especially youngers, to
- 39:31Speaker 4: know that you can be soft and strong, you can experiment,
- 39:38Speaker 4: you can stay grounded, and you can think of going
- 39:41Speaker 4: global all at once. Your individuality is your power. Every
- 39:47Speaker 4: single girl is very unique in her own way and
- 39:53Speaker 4: she doesn't have to compare herself with anybody else. Yes,
- 39:56Speaker 4: she has a lot of idols, And now I'm talking
- 39:58Speaker 4: to myself every younger that yes, you have a lot
- 40:02Speaker 4: of idols, but You're so unique that the more the
- 40:06Speaker 4: more you embrace who you truly are, the more beautiful
- 40:08Speaker 4: your art and journey will become. All these influences will
- 40:11Speaker 4: become a part of it very beautifully. But you're still
- 40:16Speaker 4: unique and you can still stand out in all the
- 40:21Speaker 4: possible ways. So I'm so proud of all these young
- 40:28Speaker 4: girls and myself, and I want to keep doing that.
- 40:31Speaker 4: I keep connecting with each and every one of them
- 40:34Speaker 4: in so many different ways so I can inspire them
- 40:37Speaker 4: every day and keep doing my own thing.
- 40:39Speaker 9: Wow.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you very much for sharing that, Rishmi. Thank you.
- 40:43Speaker 1: That's great advice, by the way, thank you so much.
- 40:46Speaker 8: Yeah, that's great advice for any artist out there, any
- 40:48Speaker 8: young artists out there, So thank you, Rishmith. Let's talk
- 40:52Speaker 8: about this brand new song.
- 40:53Speaker 1: It's called Your. It just came out recently.
- 40:57Speaker 8: It's a collaboration with our dear friend Kahani and the
- 41:00Speaker 8: warehouse tell us about this song that the press release
- 41:04Speaker 8: doesn't tell us.
- 41:06Speaker 4: It took me two years to like Joe, took two
- 41:10Speaker 4: years to come to life.
- 41:12Speaker 14: And uh.
- 41:13Speaker 4: When I met Kahani in New York for the first time,
- 41:16Speaker 4: I went to a studio and he played me a beat.
- 41:20Speaker 4: I instantly started jamming over it because the chore is
- 41:24Speaker 4: based on an Indian classical raga. It's a very gumbir
- 41:34Speaker 4: head of rug. It's based on the head of rag,
- 41:36Speaker 4: which is uh Gumbi is serious. It's of a serious mood,
- 41:42Speaker 4: mysterious plus serious, that kind of you know, mixture of
- 41:47Speaker 4: serious uh.
- 41:51Speaker 16: Uh.
- 41:52Speaker 4: So when I heard it, I stilly started jamming and uh.
- 41:56Speaker 4: The first thing that came to me was chore Sally,
- 42:00Speaker 4: it's a little there's a mystery behind this song. It
- 42:03Speaker 4: could be very h you know, you know, it could
- 42:09Speaker 4: be like there's something going on, but it's there's it's
- 42:15Speaker 4: something is going on, but it's it's still not revealing.
- 42:19Speaker 4: It's not fully out there. I want to say a
- 42:21Speaker 4: lot of things, but there's a mask on my face,
- 42:24Speaker 4: so you cannot really see what's happening behind the mask.
- 42:28Speaker 4: So that was the idea of creating chores, and we
- 42:31Speaker 4: kept building for two years on and off. Khani came
- 42:35Speaker 4: to Bombay to record me after a few months after
- 42:40Speaker 4: New York and we started jamming over it. I gave
- 42:44Speaker 4: a lot of different layers, not even not in my voice.
- 42:47Speaker 4: If you hear the song, like mindfully then it says
- 42:51Speaker 4: it has a lot of layers of me screaming. Sure,
- 42:56Speaker 4: and yeah, there's so many things. There's so much drama,
- 43:00Speaker 4: so much marsala in chore that people will only get
- 43:03Speaker 4: to hear once they hear it on repeat, on loop.
- 43:06Speaker 4: And it was a very exciting collaboration. I never imagined,
- 43:11Speaker 4: I guess. I always imagine. I keep myself open while
- 43:13Speaker 4: creating that I can do techno, I can do fusion,
- 43:16Speaker 4: I can do classically. As I said that, my foundation
- 43:19Speaker 4: is deeply rooted in classical and gurbani and ragas. I've
- 43:24Speaker 4: always been surrounded with kavali's and guzzles around me. So
- 43:29Speaker 4: this is the most natural genre that comes to me,
- 43:33Speaker 4: that flows within inside out while creating music. So that happened,
- 43:40Speaker 4: and it's just blended so beautifully, the fusion, the techno both,
- 43:46Speaker 4: and we did it and it's out now and people
- 43:49Speaker 4: are loving it. I really want to perform it very
- 43:52Speaker 4: very soon, so I might get to do it.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you will come pretty soon.
- 43:58Speaker 8: Yeah, well hopefully across every city here in North America
- 44:01Speaker 8: here this summer.
- 44:02Speaker 1: We can't wait.
- 44:03Speaker 4: Uh yes, I cannot wait either.
- 44:06Speaker 8: Yeah, So everybody make sure you go support Rich Meat
- 44:08Speaker 8: this summer as she hangs out with us in North
- 44:10Speaker 8: America for once and so we'll get to see you live,
- 44:14Speaker 8: riush Meat. It was such a delight talking to you
- 44:16Speaker 8: as imagined by me. I was super excited about this,
- 44:20Speaker 8: and my audience will tell you how long I've been
- 44:23Speaker 8: telling them that I'm wanting to get rich Meat on
- 44:25Speaker 8: this show.
- 44:26Speaker 1: So thank you for making it happen for us today.
- 44:30Speaker 4: Thank you very much for having me Sammy. It was
- 44:32Speaker 4: such a pleasure. Thank you.
- 44:34Speaker 8: So I would like one last favorite from you, and
- 44:36Speaker 8: that is if you can please introduce this song George
- 44:39Speaker 8: for us right now on the air.

- 48:13Speaker 8: many of those answers that she gave me.
- 48:15Speaker 1: I kind of had a feeling that's how it would go.
- 48:18Speaker 8: Really enjoyed that. I'll tell you more about it. Here's
- 48:22Speaker 8: Das Gupta for you.

- 55:34Speaker 8: The song is called Starstruck. It's a fun song right there.
- 55:39Speaker 8: Had a great time talking to rish meath Guard today.
- 55:42Speaker 8: In my time in this business, the artists that I've
- 55:46Speaker 8: watched build the most durable careers are the ones the
- 55:49Speaker 8: industry never knew how to file. The label just can't
- 55:52Speaker 8: put them in a folder. The producer can't write a
- 55:54Speaker 8: one line description, the reviewer just can't pull a comparison.
- 56:00Speaker 8: The artists who last because they were never imitating anybody
- 56:04Speaker 8: to begin with.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Rashmith Gore is one of those artists.
- 56:08Speaker 8: She moves through Punjabi, through AfroB through Bollywood, through the
- 56:12Speaker 8: independent space, and somehow every record.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Still sounds like her.
- 56:18Speaker 8: That's not range, that's a free spirit refusing a box,
- 56:22Speaker 8: embodying the freedom, leaving the form behind. She sat with
- 56:26Speaker 8: me today and the thing I want you to hear
- 56:29Speaker 8: and everything we just talked about is this. She is
- 56:32Speaker 8: an embodiment of her own truth, guided by a compass,
- 56:36Speaker 8: drenched in the soul of music. Her presence is the
- 56:40Speaker 8: refreshing thing this music has been missing. An artist who
- 56:45Speaker 8: isn't trying to be the next anybody.
- 56:48Speaker 7: She just is.
- 56:50Speaker 8: Let me tell you something I don't usually say on
- 56:52Speaker 8: this show. Rashmith Gore came to us from the future.
- 56:57Speaker 8: Today she's going to be one of the biggest stars
- 56:59Speaker 8: in space. And today she came back from wherever she's
- 57:03Speaker 8: headed to sit down with us in her present. She's
- 57:08Speaker 8: going places not because of the labels, not because of
- 57:11Speaker 8: the algorithms, not because of any of the noise this
- 57:15Speaker 8: industry even runs on. She's going there because of one thing,
- 57:20Speaker 8: and one thing only. Rashmeat is authentic. I can call
- 57:24Speaker 8: her a free spirit, I can call her without form,
- 57:28Speaker 8: I can call her a compass drenched in the soul
- 57:30Speaker 8: of music. But the word I'm reaching for underneath all
- 57:33Speaker 8: of it is the simplest one. She's authentic, And in
- 57:36Speaker 8: a business that runs on imitation, that is the rarest
- 57:41Speaker 8: thing there is. Go find her catalog tonight, and if
- 57:45Speaker 8: there's a tour date coming to your city this year,
- 57:48Speaker 8: go see her. Because the artist you're hearing on this
- 57:52Speaker 8: show today is the one everybody else will be talking
- 57:55Speaker 8: about here very shortly. Here's her latest song called Ranja Ranja,
- 58:00Speaker 8: have a great day, everybody, chuck.
- 58:07Speaker 28: Ache Sadayo he Angel say do chre.
- 58:30Speaker 9: Your rock car? Are you worry? One show you j
