  I can already start seeing things I couldn't see that were obscured by leaves four,

  which leads me to believe they're coming down. And I know where a

  lot of them, for some folks will end up. Almost all of them

  will end up in the gutters on the roof, in the ground. You

  know, I talked last week about what one of the number one fall maintenance

  items to do is to clean your gutters out. And you know, for

  most people that's not just going to be like a like a one time thing.

  You're going to clean them, and they're going to fill up, and

  you're going to clean them and they're going to fill up again. So I

  kind of wanted it, really wanted the key on gutter shutter this morning.

  And you know what we can do to help you from even having to think

  about that anymore. You Know's it's really cool when we when we get new

  sales reps, one of the first things that we make them do is,

  you know, if you're out there selling a product, you have to feel

  really good about it and having the confidence that what you're selling is going to

  help people, and then what we say is real. So we actually just

  make them go out and we give them a list of like all of our

  customers, which is it's right around ten thousand people right now, so it's

  not hard to find somebody that we've done work for. But we make them

  go out and basically go to customers homes and just chat with them for a

  minute, ask them how the process was, you know, how their gutters
• 3:04
  are working, or how their roof was. And what's funny is a lot
• 3:08
  of times they'll say, you know, so what do you think about the
• 3:10
  gutters, and homeowners will look at them go, I don't even think about
• 3:15
  them, that I had them up and I don't even think about them anymore,
• 3:19
  right, So, like that's like to me, that's the ultimate compliment.

  Imagine because on the house, when it rains, the water goes in,
• 3:27
  it comes down the downsboats. You don't have to worry about overflow.

  You don't have to worry about clogging it. They just work and then after
• 3:32
  a while you forget about them. I mean even on my own home.

  I know. I had talked about the fact that when I when I bought
• 3:38
  my first home down here in the Madison area, when I moved down here
• 3:43
  to start the company, it had open really bad gutters on. Well,
• 3:49
  we were busy helping other people, and when you're starting a company, it
• 3:53
  really doesn't pay to have your guys do work on your own home. So
• 3:55
  I just left them. Yeah, and one day I had to get up
• 4:01
  there and clean them, and my wife was like, you know, you
• 4:05
  should probably hide your leaf guard truck if you're going to get up there and
• 4:08
  clean the guards. I know, this is the dumbest thing I've ever done
• 4:12
  in my life, is I'm up here cleaning these gutters. But the point
• 4:16
  is is that that is really what happens. People get them put up and
• 4:19
  they forget them. But I don't want there's when we come over to do
• 4:23
  an estimate, it's a lot more than just coming over and giving you a
• 4:26
  price. So I kind of want to give people an insight to what we
• 4:30
  really do because we really do a full inspection, and so we're not just
• 4:36
  going to come over there and measure up the gutters and go, this is
• 4:39
  what it'll cost. Guys are going to get up there. They're going to
• 4:43
  take a look at the flash, and they're gonna take a look at the
• 4:45
  edge of the roof. They're going to take a look at the slope on
• 4:48
  the current gutter system, and you know, let you know, like,
• 4:50
  hey, maybe why they're not working properly because a lot of people think,
• 4:55
  hey, I can just get a cover put on my gutters, or I
• 4:57
  can put a filter system on my gutters and they're gonna work well. If
• 5:01
  we don't have adequate downspouts, if we don't have the right size downspouts,
• 5:06
  if we don't have the proper slope, and we're not dropping the water into
• 5:10
  the appropriate places, putting a cover or some sort of screen or filter system
• 5:15
  on top of them isn't going to do you any good, right, we
• 5:17
  have to make sure that the whole system is working properly. So my guys
• 5:20
  are actually gonna get up there. They're gonna actually they're gonna take a video
• 5:24
  for you so you can see exactly what's going on. Up there because a
• 5:30
  lot of people have never been up there, and a lot of times what
• 5:32
  will come with that is we might just do a roof inspection for you,
• 5:35
  or just check the roof out and let you know everything's doing. So it's
• 5:41
  a full it's a full system. It's a full inspection, and of course
• 5:46
  we give you a price. But sometimes we'll go up there and redesign a
• 5:49
  whole system. Where people have downs faults going across their sidewalk or downs bauts
• 5:55
  going onto their driveway, it creates a trip hazard, it creates an icy
• 5:59
  mess in the winter. The size and strength of gutter shutter and we talked
• 6:02
  about last week, and we don't have that rebuttal video up there to prove
• 6:06
  that guys weren't laying on their back with the six hundred pounds hanging from the
• 6:11
  gutter. But they weren't. But because of the size and strength, we
• 6:15
  can get away with a lot fewer are a lot less downspouts than a traditional
• 6:20
  system than basically any other system, so we can eliminate downspouts or move them
• 6:26
  to the places that they need to go. So not only is the system
• 6:29
  working properly, it's never going to clog we guarantee it's never going to leak
• 6:32
  overflow, can damage it from ice, but we can eliminate whole downspouts and
• 6:38
  get it to a back of the house or to the side of the house
• 6:40
  where we know it's going to run away properly, not going to make a
• 6:43
  mess, and it's not going to be a hazard for the homeowners in that
• 6:45
  new spot. And we talk about all the work that goes into not just
• 6:48
  the production of gutter shutter and the installation, but the work that goes into
• 6:53
  the design. And you're you're mentioning, you know, proper downspouts and where
• 6:57
  are those downspouts going to lead having an adequate number once that water is captured,
• 7:00
  and of course the leaves are are discarded, which is an amazing part
• 7:05
  of gutter shutter and how the system works. Understanding that it's more than just
• 7:11
  getting the water off the roof. It's really about getting that water then off
• 7:14
  the roof into the gutters and away from the house. Needs to go away
• 7:18
  from the house. I say this over and over and over again, but
• 7:20
  water will take the path of least resistance. Now fortunately it's code now for
• 7:27
  new homes to have a su pump system put in the home. So they're
• 7:30
  gonna they're gonna put drain tiles underneath the concrete, some sort of drain system
• 7:35
  that's supposed to flow into a sun pump and then pump the water back out
• 7:42
  of the house. Well, we don't want that system to work if it
• 7:46
  doesn't have to. So if the gutters are working properly, for the most
• 7:49
  part of sumpump should be pretty dry. If it's not, that means we've
• 7:55
  got an issue. We've got a grading issue. We've got water coming back
• 7:58
  to the house. Some pump in my house right now, it's got cobwebs
• 8:03
  in it, like it's never had water in it. So that's fortunate.
• 8:09
  Although sometimes some pumps can fail, and you know they always fail when you
• 8:13
  need them. Power goes out in the middle of a big storm. My
• 8:18
  gutters don't work properly, some pump can't pump water out water in basement.
• 8:24
  Now we're dealing with a whole other set of problems. So also, over
• 8:28
  time, if the gutters are overflowing in the wrong spots, it will create
• 8:31
  a negative grade. See that all the time, and that usually gets caused
• 8:35
  by winter ice and snow build up chunks of ice building up in the gutter,
• 8:41
  making the gutter sag gutter pulling away from house, and then it ends
• 8:45
  up overflowing in one spot and it overflows and it overflows and it overflows,
• 8:50
  and eventually that ground starts to sag right there and that's where water will come
• 8:54
  in the house, or that spot ends up being right over an egress window
• 9:00
  in the basement, or it's right over your front steps. So we're not
• 9:05
  going to just come out flip your price and say here you go, this
• 9:09
  will cost They're going to do a full inspection because if we can, if
• 9:11
  we can re engineer a gutter system to function better for a homeowner, that's
• 9:16
  what we want to do. It's it's it's one thing to make sure that
• 9:20
  and guarantee that the that the whole system is always going to work functionally from
• 9:24
  the roof down, but getting it away from the house and making it making
• 9:28
  it work better for a homeowner, that's a huge part of it. So

  customization allowance. People are always talking quartz countertops and those kind of things.

  People rarely think of of having good shut good gutters installed in their home.
