- 0:33Speaker 7: Is it just.

- 0:39Speaker 5: I'm gonna go on the way you vegan.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, you're listening to the Sports Shock Show.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Candy, Good morning to you,
- 0:53Speaker 1: and let's start with a big congratulations around of applause
- 0:57Speaker 1: here for the Florida Panthers. Yeah, I got you, Florida Panthers.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I stopped my cloup like.
- 1:10Speaker 7: That was.
- 1:12Speaker 1: The Florida Panthers did win the NHL Stanley Cup.
- 1:16Speaker 2: They did?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Okay, imagine he was like he wanted to take the
- 1:20Speaker 1: clap back I did. Did we ever give the Panthers
- 1:24Speaker 1: their love? We did not. We did not, and they
- 1:27Speaker 1: deserve it. Lea the last couple of years, correct lead champions. Yeah,
- 1:33Speaker 1: this their second they're big. I'm back to back and exactly,
- 1:37Speaker 1: and we've never said a thing. Y'all gonna let me go?
- 1:40Speaker 1: Did you see me freeze my clap?
- 1:41Speaker 7: I was clapping, and they like, skirt get the air
- 1:44Speaker 7: brakes on the clap when you say Florida pans And
- 1:46Speaker 7: I was wrong for that.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Now, I don't know a player that plays for the
- 1:49Speaker 1: Florida Panthers. Don't. I didn't watch the Stanley Cup finals either,
- 1:55Speaker 1: but I do know, being from the home state of Florida,
- 1:58Speaker 1: that I that they had won. And neither of you
- 2:02Speaker 1: two brought that to me and your stories.
- 2:04Speaker 7: Which is neglectful because first of all, the fact that
- 2:07Speaker 7: Florida even has hockey team, it's new.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And they both ware championships, Like, come on, man, well
- 2:17Speaker 1: what happened is over kind of like Atlanta. When Atlanta
- 2:20Speaker 1: had hockey, the Thrashers were here, that whole movement into
- 2:26Speaker 1: the South with NHL. Nashville got a team Charlotte. I
- 2:31Speaker 1: think they're based out of Charlotte r and y rally.
- 2:35Speaker 1: So it was the whole thing that so many people
- 2:38Speaker 1: from that northern region, yes, had moved to these areas
- 2:45Speaker 1: that it could now sustain. Now, the population of Atlanta grew,
- 2:52Speaker 1: but it didn't grow from the hockey fan, right, but
- 2:57Speaker 1: you noticed that. Or it's like tennis and soccer are
- 3:03Speaker 1: huge when it's it's one of them things where Atlanta
- 3:06Speaker 1: is like number one or two and like competitive tennis,
- 3:12Speaker 1: but they have all of these different tennis leagues, not
- 3:15Speaker 1: not just something about on a pro circuit, come out
- 3:17Speaker 1: where that's you go out to these tennis courses. Yeah,
- 3:21Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, uh, these tennis places and they're
- 3:24Speaker 1: filled with yeah people in the same thing with soccer.
- 3:28Speaker 1: And I think that's what with Florida. Same thing. You
- 3:31Speaker 1: have a lot of migration, and then that migration, I
- 3:35Speaker 1: was able to support a hockey team and that I
- 3:39Speaker 1: was yeah yeah in Tampa, the Lightning one about three
- 3:43Speaker 1: years ago in the last I mean, both teams last
- 3:47Speaker 1: in the last six or seven years.
- 3:49Speaker 7: And we have said nothing and you and yeah, no, no,
- 3:52Speaker 7: don't don't, don't you don't just you you have said,
- 3:57Speaker 7: mister Florida resident, you still got a place or two
- 4:01Speaker 7: in Florida.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Right now that you have a place in Tampa and.
- 4:04Speaker 7: A place in Tampa where else at Miami Miami, you
- 4:08Speaker 7: got like a home in both those places. And you
- 4:11Speaker 7: never came in with like, hey, he goes some T
- 4:13Speaker 7: shirts from the national You just admitted I ain't never
- 4:17Speaker 7: seen a game, So yeah, I think that's all collectively
- 4:21Speaker 7: bear the weight.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Of this response, at least at least I'm admitting it. Yeah,
- 4:25Speaker 1: me too, Me too. You wanted to take your clap back,
- 4:28Speaker 1: and I just wanted to say that because I didn't think,
- 4:32Speaker 1: you know, I don't think excuse me that we have
- 4:34Speaker 1: addressed at the Florida Panthers. The Stanley Cup and the
- 4:37Speaker 1: Stanley Cup by name, could be the most known trophy
- 4:45Speaker 1: in sports. In sports, yes, it is, as far as
- 4:48Speaker 1: the name of the actual and it being identified with what.
- 4:52Speaker 7: Sports that you're playing. I think it's interesting too that
- 4:56Speaker 7: Florida and Tampa Baby have both won championships hockey teams
- 5:01Speaker 7: from hot states. But hockey is an international game. It's
- 5:05Speaker 7: not just played in the United States, and the powerhouses
- 5:08Speaker 7: have usually been from other countries, and for them to
- 5:12Speaker 7: do it back to back is quite impressive.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So congratulations to the Panthers. Before we even get give.
- 5:18Speaker 7: You that air break clap. Then I tried this, give
- 5:22Speaker 7: me some enthusiasm. No more jake break clap. I'm gonna
- 5:27Speaker 7: give you a full clap, no more, Jake break clap.
- 5:30Speaker 1: And then we can get around to the Oklahoma City
- 5:34Speaker 1: Thunder last night winning game seven one o three to
- 5:38Speaker 1: ninety one in this game, and it just it wasn't
- 5:46Speaker 1: the matchup. It was just you know how when something
- 5:55Speaker 1: go like you think it a goo, it has a
- 5:58Speaker 1: little less to it. Okay, see was the best record.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Nobody slapped, Nobody mama the whole year. All the players
- 6:11Speaker 1: showed up, Nobody get tellybody, don't get thrown out of game,
- 6:16Speaker 1: hain't nobody failed to drug. You just kind of know.
- 6:22Speaker 7: Yeah, So the modern day San Antonio Spurs, that's yet
- 6:27Speaker 7: to be seen. I haven't seen as far as their
- 6:30Speaker 7: bill like there, Yeah, I didn't see the post game conference,
- 6:33Speaker 7: so I don't know how many words they used.
- 6:37Speaker 9: Because they they their team that built through the draft,
- 6:40Speaker 9: made a couple of trades here and there, and that's
- 6:42Speaker 9: what the Spurs.
- 6:43Speaker 7: And only difference I think s t A might say
- 6:46Speaker 7: sentences like he might go, yes, I agree, So that's that's.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Different than Tim dun dunk. Well, how would how did
- 6:53Speaker 1: Tim do it?
- 6:55Speaker 7: Mm hmm, excuse me, Tim, Yes, that's how he clarified. Yes,
- 7:02Speaker 7: Oh okay, SGA and his band of married men bringing
- 7:07Speaker 7: home the championship. What a fighting team the Pacers turned
- 7:13Speaker 7: out to be two teams really, even as the finals gone, I.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Don't know that Shay gained any real measurement of face
- 7:29Speaker 1: of the NBA. It's something about his that doesn't let
- 7:36Speaker 1: him fall in. Is it that he's from Canada and
- 7:39Speaker 1: he's from Canada. Yeah, he's from Canada. But this is
- 7:41Speaker 1: something that I've noticed. You know, we don't really like
- 7:44Speaker 1: we only give you if your foreign born, just a little.
- 7:46Speaker 7: Bit, we'll make you president or governor something like, now, governor,
- 7:50Speaker 7: you're a governor.
- 7:51Speaker 1: But we ain't gonna let you just take over NBA.
- 7:53Speaker 1: But ridiculous. But his teammates last night doing a great job,
- 7:58Speaker 1: and as Greg said, really shows and really keeps in
- 8:02Speaker 1: mind that sometimes if you draft correctly, and that's something
- 8:09Speaker 1: and that's most of the time really really, you draft
- 8:14Speaker 1: and then you hire a Henchman's kind of how it
- 8:18Speaker 1: goes like. But but the top three, three of my
- 8:21Speaker 1: top five playlayers, I drafted right, and then I go
- 8:25Speaker 1: get me a henchman to come in and kind of
- 8:28Speaker 1: either lead them or be the X factor. But this
- 8:31Speaker 1: team here based on their pieces. Definitely have a chance
- 8:36Speaker 1: to repeat and get better in this game right off
- 8:41Speaker 1: the bat Tyler Halliburton Tour or what looks to be
- 8:45Speaker 1: appears to be torn Achilles.
- 8:49Speaker 7: Yeah, that that was unfortunate. I wanted to ask you
- 8:51Speaker 7: really quick about the face of the NBA. You said,
- 8:54Speaker 7: didn't seem like SGA moved any closer to that. Are
- 8:58Speaker 7: we just super just to give somebody that title because
- 9:02Speaker 7: they kept trying to make ant man and even in
- 9:05Speaker 7: this series when they thought that they would sweep Indie
- 9:09Speaker 7: and they lost that game, everybody started going, well, SGA
- 9:13Speaker 7: might not be the face of the NBA if he
- 9:15Speaker 7: loses this series. And like he never said he was
- 9:19Speaker 7: the face. You kept saying I want him to be
- 9:21Speaker 7: the face, and now you don't want him?
- 9:23Speaker 1: Is that an overused term? Now? I would say not
- 9:28Speaker 1: for the NBA, because they're they're the league that since
- 9:35Speaker 1: the Jordan and Bird era. That's how they really came
- 9:39Speaker 1: to be a powerful force. They sell tickets based on
- 9:43Speaker 1: the face, correct, Yeah. I've always said that they're more individual,
- 9:47Speaker 1: Come see a player, Baseball and football are more come
- 9:53Speaker 1: see a team. Yeah, if you ever notice, we're never
- 9:56Speaker 1: really discussing who is the face of the ni FL.
- 10:00Speaker 7: No, you know now now they may try and highlight
- 10:04Speaker 7: a player in that Lamar Jackson going up against the
- 10:11Speaker 7: best defense and you know this player kind of thing.
- 10:15Speaker 7: So we've seen that, but that's just sort of as
- 10:18Speaker 7: a teaser to the actual game that's coming up. We've
- 10:21Speaker 7: never seen it in football like they do it in
- 10:24Speaker 7: the NBA, Like this guy plays for a team. You
- 10:27Speaker 7: don't really even hear about his team. You just hear
- 10:30Speaker 7: about him being a member of the NBA.
- 10:32Speaker 1: And baseball used to be like the NBA, where they
- 10:35Speaker 1: marketed players until some of those players until yeah, I
- 10:40Speaker 1: mean those market players. Ryan, come support your team. Don't
- 10:45Speaker 1: worry if Barry Bond, we'll see are you know right
- 10:50Speaker 1: now when you think of the Major League Baseball, there's
- 10:52Speaker 1: Aaron Judd, that kind of a show any acuna.
- 10:59Speaker 7: You start hearing those names more local yet, But back
- 11:03Speaker 7: in the day when we used to say all those names,
- 11:05Speaker 7: the Maguire, the Bonds, the Pete Rose so so they
- 11:09Speaker 7: all came under screw, right, So we stopped.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah, so we stopped promoting the individual. Mike Piazza.
- 11:17Speaker 7: Yeah, it was always someone somebody and then those people
- 11:20Speaker 7: are kind of teens to make sure you watch the game,
- 11:22Speaker 7: and then they ended up being human and we had
- 11:25Speaker 7: stopped doing that, like, no, we can't watch Charlie Hilsel, No,
- 11:28Speaker 7: don't promote him.
- 11:30Speaker 1: So congratulations to the Thunder. I don't know any Thunder fans,
- 11:35Speaker 1: So it's not like I just sent a personal shout
- 11:37Speaker 1: out before we go to break. You know any Thunder
- 11:40Speaker 1: not personally. No, you know any Thunder personally that you
- 11:43Speaker 1: have had a conversation with. Never how long they've been
- 11:47Speaker 1: in the league. Well, they've been the thunder about since fifteen.
- 11:53Speaker 7: And I still have yet to meet a a organic
- 11:57Speaker 7: Thunder fan.
- 11:58Speaker 9: And the Seattle fans did not go. They didn't transfer, Yeah,
- 12:03Speaker 9: they did not. They're pounding the table to bring back. Yeah,
- 12:07Speaker 9: we'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after
- 12:09Speaker 9: this Don't Go Away, or of the Sports Jock Show
- 12:33Speaker 9: with Wayne Dandidius.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Coming up next. Are they going to go?
- 12:37Speaker 10: And we got returning military vets. They've served our country
- 12:42Speaker 10: at home and tobroun. They've slept in tanks, fox owls
- 12:45Speaker 10: and even out in the weather. They've had our backs.
- 12:48Speaker 10: Now we have there. So sports Jock Man of honor.

- 15:22Speaker 10: on the Sports Jockshow.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Has taken it to a completely different level this.
- 15:26Speaker 10: Year where we highlight an appolete that has taken their
- 15:29Speaker 10: game to the next level.
- 15:46Speaker 6: Us not you, and.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Welcome back to this Boy Shop Shop this boy shop
- 15:53Speaker 1: Wayne game to good morning to you in the studio.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Bad producer just hitting the door or already going off
- 16:02Speaker 1: on his twin bick Kenny with twin. You know they
- 16:09Speaker 1: won't be their age. They're built. They actually born in
- 16:13Speaker 1: the sixties. Excuse me, he trying He trying to make
- 16:19Speaker 1: me twin. We didn't discuss this. He just came in
- 16:22Speaker 1: adopted me, both of you and brothers before a king assassination. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:27Speaker 1: we both were. Wing was assassinated.
- 16:32Speaker 13: Really he was saddinate except of what was April of
- 16:36Speaker 13: nineteen sixty eight. Yeah, I was born in April in
- 16:40Speaker 13: sixty nine. I was one year old, making sure we know?
- 16:46Speaker 1: Yeah? Is that on the Costco card? Command in the building,
- 16:56Speaker 1: Kenny the funny man himself. Okay, see bringing home the
- 16:59Speaker 1: championship last night Game seven, early in the first quarter.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Their second best player this season, Tyler Halliburton, a point
- 17:08Speaker 1: guard for the Pacers. Non contact injury, which if you've
- 17:11Speaker 1: been following this show, I always alert people to know
- 17:15Speaker 1: are the most dangerous. You actually want to sustain an
- 17:19Speaker 1: injury through contact. When you find somebody falling without being contacted,
- 17:28Speaker 1: even if it's not the achille, is something wrong, something
- 17:32Speaker 1: has pulled, something is knotted up. That's why you fail
- 17:38Speaker 1: when you fall without someone contacting you. So last night
- 17:41Speaker 1: we're not sure. We do know, and it gives a
- 17:44Speaker 1: lot of life to sometimes when we are saying just
- 17:49Speaker 1: go out and play this whole low management, this idea
- 17:54Speaker 1: that you can predict when injury happens kind of mindset
- 18:02Speaker 1: the play through it.
- 18:03Speaker 7: I heard them even saying when he was reported earlier
- 18:07Speaker 7: in the series to have a lower right leg injury,
- 18:11Speaker 7: no one is at a calf strain. Uh and he
- 18:16Speaker 7: I think came out of the second half or something
- 18:18Speaker 7: of it was a Game three or or one of
- 18:21Speaker 7: those games, and everybody was like, well, I think it's
- 18:24Speaker 7: really disappointing that when your team is counting on you
- 18:27Speaker 7: that you would and I think that if it was
- 18:30Speaker 7: just and and you know it's that sounds heroic when
- 18:35Speaker 7: you're sitting and watching a game. And then everybody goes, Okay,
- 18:38Speaker 7: we're so glad he stepped up. And now he has
- 18:41Speaker 7: that injury, and everybody's kind of like, well, I said
- 18:44Speaker 7: he should rest, but it's one of.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Those is that injury on the same leg. Yeah, it was.
- 18:50Speaker 9: He had the calf strain earlier, and uh, it's kind
- 18:55Speaker 9: of a strain where you're supposed to he would normally
- 18:59Speaker 9: be out for like two three weeks while it eels
- 19:03Speaker 9: and and everything, but if you keep playing on it,
- 19:06Speaker 9: it can lead to an achilles tear. So he kept
- 19:10Speaker 9: playing just because like, well I can, I can get
- 19:13Speaker 9: out there and they need me and it's the finals,
- 19:16Speaker 9: so it was just something that this could happen if
- 19:21Speaker 9: he kept playing. And this was game seven, so you
- 19:24Speaker 9: to go out there. He's going to go for it.
- 19:26Speaker 9: So it's I just saw it like it's it's unfortunate,
- 19:29Speaker 9: but it's something that he was it's the finals, and
- 19:35Speaker 9: I can I can do something.
- 19:37Speaker 1: And I'm sure that somewhere there's this NBA scientist trying
- 19:43Speaker 1: to do the math or sports scientists period on. Something
- 19:47Speaker 1: I've spoke about a lot is the torn achilles. It's
- 19:55Speaker 1: more prevalent now it's the third one. This just post
- 20:00Speaker 1: season between Damian Lillard, Jason Jason Tatum from Boston and
- 20:07Speaker 1: now with Tyler Halliburton, and a lot of times, I'm
- 20:11Speaker 1: telling you my whole career, I remember maybe two three
- 20:16Speaker 1: guys in the whole time.
- 20:18Speaker 13: The first one I ever heard was Dominique when it
- 20:21Speaker 13: was like it was a big deal. Remember when Dominique.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Toy Is in the early nineties.
- 20:25Speaker 13: Yeah, and it was like you found out then that
- 20:28Speaker 13: is a bad injury for basketball, especially any sport. But
- 20:32Speaker 13: like you said, it's now Achilles is a common as
- 20:36Speaker 13: a c L M C L.
- 20:39Speaker 7: Have you heard the other chatter out there that Dame Lillard,
- 20:45Speaker 7: Tyree's Halliburton, and Jason Tatum all where number so that
- 20:51Speaker 7: that might be part of why they're having Achilles tears
- 20:55Speaker 7: because and I don't know how people come up with
- 20:58Speaker 7: this stuff and start to make it thing that people
- 21:00Speaker 7: actually start to debate. But when I heard that, I
- 21:03Speaker 7: was like, that's how deep you'll be going into it.
- 21:06Speaker 7: I mean, like you, I'm thinking an achilles here, that's
- 21:10Speaker 7: how many of this season? Because you just rarely see that.
- 21:14Speaker 7: And I thought you was about to tell me something
- 21:16Speaker 7: about they had the same trainer. No, no, they wear
- 21:19Speaker 7: numbers partners.
- 21:20Speaker 13: Yeah, So I was.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Over to.
- 21:24Speaker 7: That, and when I heard that, I just froze, like
- 21:28Speaker 7: who researches that? Like which one of the people on
- 21:32Speaker 7: your staff, like researches the injury and the number of it.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I mean, it just too hard that all happened in the
- 21:39Speaker 1: last two months. That's true that it was hard. It
- 21:43Speaker 1: wasn't hard to compile the data. So don't wear the
- 21:46Speaker 1: numbers either. I guess it's what they're saying, but really
- 21:51Speaker 1: it's just that I don't know. I need to get
- 21:54Speaker 1: out to a modern training session. I do know years ago,
- 22:00Speaker 1: when I was a little more around guys that worked out,
- 22:04Speaker 1: I didn't notice a big uptick in things where people
- 22:09Speaker 1: leaving their feet. And the science always said, you kind
- 22:14Speaker 1: of you need those explosive exercises. You do a little
- 22:19Speaker 1: bit of it, and I think we used to report
- 22:21Speaker 1: when you would see those guys try to jump up
- 22:23Speaker 1: on a table. Yeah, I wait on there on the bar.
- 22:27Speaker 1: And I used to like that is horrible or the Achilles.
- 22:32Speaker 1: That's horrible for your knees. And but it makes good
- 22:36Speaker 1: YouTube or TikTok, But the wear and tear, but the
- 22:42Speaker 1: reality of that is hard. So I wonder what these
- 22:46Speaker 1: and even to the shoes, as we always talk about
- 22:48Speaker 1: the game now with the the high top no longer exists,
- 22:53Speaker 1: that's another problem that it looks more cross trainer now, yes,
- 22:58Speaker 1: or almost low top shield. I wonder if anybody's doing
- 23:04Speaker 1: that whole now. Looking over the first fifty years of
- 23:08Speaker 1: the NBA, it was high top ankle sport, and now
- 23:12Speaker 1: I want to jump higher, so i'd wear less material.
- 23:16Speaker 1: But everybody's ankles hurt. Dad, I wonder if that has
- 23:19Speaker 1: anything to do with it. We'll be back more to
- 23:21Speaker 1: Sports Jock Show right after this don't.
- 23:23Speaker 5: Know, Mother Slider.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Out of the swat.
- 23:35Speaker 4: This don't bowl. Wayne Born of the Sports Josh Show
- 23:41Speaker 4: with Wayne Gamby is coming up next.
- 23:45Speaker 14: Oh brah, that's buzzed.
- 23:46Speaker 8: Oh yeah yeah, he's starting with the woots.
- 23:50Speaker 14: And now a speech.
- 23:52Speaker 10: I just want to say that friendship is about heart
- 23:56Speaker 10: art and.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Ray who's with me?
- 23:58Speaker 15: Good thing is he knows when he and my brain
- 24:01Speaker 15: is saying when it's time to go home.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Somebody call me a ride.
- 24:05Speaker 8: Love that guy, me too.
- 24:06Speaker 7: Know your buzzed warning signs, call for a ride when
- 24:09Speaker 7: it's time to go home.

- 25:49Speaker 1: And now back to the sports job. Wayne Gandy in
- 25:57Speaker 1: the red zone put that up for me. She got
- 26:06Speaker 1: for one more days and I'm like, yeah, how to
- 26:09Speaker 1: hell the mother? Welcome back to the Sports Shops show.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I'm the Sports Shop WINKND. We are reaching the end
- 26:20Speaker 1: of June. The NBA Draft is this Wednesday. Where will
- 26:27Speaker 1: the young man from Duke who a lot of people
- 26:30Speaker 1: are predicting to be the number one pick. Where will
- 26:35Speaker 1: he land? We will find this out on Wednesday. A
- 26:41Speaker 1: lot of people think that the Mavericks are going to
- 26:43Speaker 1: take him.
- 26:44Speaker 9: Correct, Yes, apparently on their website for their season tickets
- 26:52Speaker 9: advertising season tickets, they had a picture of him in
- 26:54Speaker 9: a Mavericks jersey. So Cooper fly, now, now that's not
- 26:59Speaker 9: Ray the flag right now, right now, right now, okay,
- 27:02Speaker 9: right now, I like that.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I like that. Great marketing. No no, no, no, no,
- 27:08Speaker 1: no no no. Stay.
- 27:11Speaker 7: The draft is a draft. That's that's nice. The draft
- 27:15Speaker 7: is coming Wednesday. Okay, so it hadn't so he hadn't
- 27:19Speaker 7: been drafted yet. This yeah, listen what I'm saying now.
- 27:24Speaker 7: Magic Johnson said that would be interesting and he can
- 27:28Speaker 7: fined for tampering when they talked about some players, Cooper
- 27:33Speaker 7: Flag is in the league yet, exactly what you already got.
- 27:38Speaker 1: We just got so many loopid but he's not. He's
- 27:41Speaker 1: not on a team. But he's not in college yet either,
- 27:44Speaker 1: So it's okay.
- 27:45Speaker 13: Yeah, it's it's just working the system, man, you know
- 27:48Speaker 13: you used to.
- 27:49Speaker 1: It, you do. I'm not I'm not affiliated with anybody, okay,
- 27:54Speaker 1: saying for the flag, not just the Cooper flag, the
- 27:58Speaker 1: American flag, for the whole flag, because to me that
- 28:02Speaker 1: just sounds like, you know, I'm I'm priming the pump.
- 28:06Speaker 13: But you know, they look good if they do have
- 28:09Speaker 13: him and Anthony Davis coming back healthy, with a healthy
- 28:13Speaker 13: I'm not Kyrie, and I'm not saying that they wouldn't
- 28:16Speaker 13: be a formidable team. I'm saying that you've already put
- 28:20Speaker 13: a player who's not in the league in a shirt
- 28:23Speaker 13: of a franchise that plays in the league. They all
- 28:26Speaker 13: do it when they recruit you, they'll put take your
- 28:28Speaker 13: picture in the shirts.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Out. I need to go ahead and talk to you
- 28:34Speaker 1: and work out the contract because we already know what's happening.
- 28:38Speaker 1: We've already decided that we could no need for us
- 28:41Speaker 1: to not address this. We need to start getting where
- 28:44Speaker 1: you're gonna be. The promotion, the jersey, all those conversations
- 28:49Speaker 1: out of the right of the.
- 28:50Speaker 7: Way, because we're gonna draft you and you're gonna come here. Correct, Okay, Okay,
- 28:55Speaker 7: And it's no longer tampering. It's no longer hamper was
- 29:00Speaker 7: when you already, yeah, already was on a team on
- 29:03Speaker 7: a team. Okay, yes, I love it. Loopholes loophole Did
- 29:09Speaker 7: you actually find it in his pocket?
- 29:10Speaker 1: Certain? No, I didn't objection around constitutional if Cooper flag
- 29:16Speaker 1: is the first pick, which a lot of people believe
- 29:18Speaker 1: he will be. Uh he now enters what the last
- 29:23Speaker 1: week or so, Lebron James has been speaking on the
- 29:27Speaker 1: ring culture. Even Michael Jordan gave some credence to what
- 29:33Speaker 1: Lebron was saying that rings are not important when you
- 29:44Speaker 1: talk about the goat. Rings are not important when you
- 29:52Speaker 1: talk about the goat. First of all, we go down
- 29:57Speaker 1: this rabbit hole. Guys, do ring things matter when you're
- 30:04Speaker 1: talking about comparison?
- 30:06Speaker 7: Now, now, when we say go we're not talking about
- 30:08Speaker 7: farm animals. Greatest of all time? It's a it's an acronym,
- 30:12Speaker 7: is what they call it. Greatest of all time? Yeah, okay,
- 30:17Speaker 7: command you. Yes, rings matter to.
- 30:23Speaker 9: A certain that's the bar Well, we've had this conversations.
- 30:30Speaker 13: It's one of the checkbox, as far as.
- 30:32Speaker 1: One of one of the checkboxes, one of the checks.
- 30:35Speaker 1: So all running backs with rings are better than Barry Sanders. No, no, alone,
- 30:44Speaker 1: you just told me, I said, to a certain degree. No,
- 30:48Speaker 1: So every back and this is what Lebron was saying,
- 30:53Speaker 1: how do you diminish a person ability based on something
- 30:59Speaker 1: he couldn't capture by himself. Now, Barry Sanders, if the
- 31:04Speaker 1: sport was just individual running back would have won. He
- 31:09Speaker 1: would be just some ong bowls of running backs. Yes,
- 31:14Speaker 1: that's true. But since it takes a whole fifty three
- 31:19Speaker 1: man squad, how I'm on the hook for my talent
- 31:26Speaker 1: being diminished because I don't have a ring in a
- 31:31Speaker 1: team sport. This isn't golf. Golf you can measure through
- 31:37Speaker 1: championships because golf is an individual sport. So if I
- 31:42Speaker 1: don't have any, if you what is I wade your
- 31:45Speaker 1: nass car thing? The other day with Dale Earnhardt on
- 31:49Speaker 1: Prime Video, Well he won the cup, but he hadn't
- 31:54Speaker 1: won a day two one of five long time. But
- 31:56Speaker 1: he won. He's like tied with the top Richard Petty.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Where I mean Winston Cups?
- 32:01Speaker 13: Yeah, Winston back when it was Will.
- 32:03Speaker 1: But if I don't I don't win Winston Cups, how
- 32:06Speaker 1: do I get into conversation? So that's why I actually
- 32:11Speaker 1: I'm not saying you wrong, I'm asking you how do
- 32:14Speaker 1: you take somebody tell that certain degree?
- 32:17Speaker 13: So it's not.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Tipper Jones is better than Barry Bump. So when do
- 32:21Speaker 1: you draw the line? When do you when do you
- 32:26Speaker 1: when do you get to implement in.
- 32:28Speaker 9: A team sport the ring part not at the I wouldn't.
- 32:35Speaker 9: I would say not at the beginning. If if all
- 32:37Speaker 9: the things that that are being compared are close enough
- 32:41Speaker 9: in comparison, then the rings that it can be like
- 32:46Speaker 9: a tiebreaker of sorts. But like you said, with with
- 32:50Speaker 9: certain players, that art doesn't matter. It's it's not the
- 32:55Speaker 9: end all be all. But but a lot of people, with
- 32:57Speaker 9: the debates that they have, they start art with championships
- 33:02Speaker 9: and that are.
- 33:04Speaker 1: These the people that play? Or is this the public yet?
- 33:09Speaker 1: And I don't because I don't know anybody that go.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I've never That's why my stance has always been in
- 33:16Speaker 1: a team sport, you had the better team. You're not
- 33:20Speaker 1: a better player than me, you just have a better team.
- 33:24Speaker 9: People are are slow to consider what kind of team
- 33:29Speaker 9: did that particular player have around them, were they championship
- 33:32Speaker 9: contenders or how did they overcome that? But all that context,
- 33:37Speaker 9: a lot of that gets ignored. They said, people start
- 33:40Speaker 9: with the number of championships and you really don't have
- 33:44Speaker 9: any If Michael Jordan didn't win six rings, but he
- 33:48Speaker 9: did the same exact thing on the court, but when
- 33:54Speaker 9: it came to rings, he didn't have them. You're telling
- 33:56Speaker 9: me he still isn't the greatest be doing. Wait now
- 34:01Speaker 9: and see, this is what I believe has happened. Is
- 34:04Speaker 9: it used to be they were the Green Bay Packers,
- 34:08Speaker 9: they were the Dallas Cowboys, they were the storied Boston Celtics,
- 34:14Speaker 9: and then somebody picked a player out of that team.
- 34:18Speaker 9: It used to just be based on how good your
- 34:20Speaker 9: franchise was, and if you were part of that franchise,
- 34:23Speaker 9: then you might be in that conversation. But then Jordan
- 34:26Speaker 9: came along and it wasn't just the championship Bulls anymore.
- 34:30Speaker 9: It was Mike and the Bulls. And the reason they
- 34:33Speaker 9: made him Mike and.
- 34:34Speaker 7: The Bulls was because he became the highlighted player and
- 34:39Speaker 7: all of the rings they got they attached to his
- 34:42Speaker 7: name and being great. So now everybody following that has
- 34:46Speaker 7: to at least have some of those on their hand,
- 34:50Speaker 7: because that's what comes with that fleet comes with the dog. Now,
- 34:53Speaker 7: the public demanded that the league sold us that that's
- 34:56Speaker 7: what makes you great. Well, I don't care what the
- 34:58Speaker 7: league sells me.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I'm talking. I'm talking at this table as individuals. How
- 35:04Speaker 1: do you command a person to win on a team
- 35:11Speaker 1: when it takes a team to win? Well, I.
- 35:18Speaker 13: Well, prime example, okay, see say gil Grists, we say superstar,
- 35:23Speaker 13: but it was a team. There's no there was no
- 35:26Speaker 13: Big Three, there's no list, and that they just went
- 35:29Speaker 13: out there and played balls.
- 35:30Speaker 1: And then there have been some team winner.
- 35:32Speaker 7: There have been some teams that didn't have every position
- 35:35Speaker 7: field with talent, and they say this player put the
- 35:38Speaker 7: team on their back and won, carried that team so
- 35:42Speaker 7: and then they carried that team to a champion chip.
- 35:45Speaker 1: So we've seen it happen. It may not have happened
- 35:48Speaker 1: in bears. And we've also seen a man with all
- 35:51Speaker 1: the players that he needs to win, not win, not win, right,
- 35:55Speaker 1: so that make him or he didn't have He carried
- 35:59Speaker 1: the team to the fight but didn't have a good finals.
- 36:03Speaker 13: That to me, if you that guy, is that you
- 36:05Speaker 13: put the team on the back, you're the leader.
- 36:07Speaker 7: So uh well, well, some of that almost starts to
- 36:09Speaker 7: sound like that in my opinion. Participation trophy philosophy is
- 36:13Speaker 7: because we're we're talking about you were talented and you
- 36:19Speaker 7: really wanted it and you had this, but because the
- 36:22Speaker 7: team didn't get it, you didn't get what you were
- 36:24Speaker 7: supposed to get.
- 36:25Speaker 1: So we ought to be talking about you. But unless
- 36:27Speaker 1: it's unfair, in all my years, I didn't win a ring.
- 36:31Speaker 1: You're telling me there's guys that's better than me because
- 36:36Speaker 1: they were on a team that got a ring. I
- 36:39Speaker 1: thought we were talking about goats. Now I thought we were
- 36:41Speaker 1: talking about that. We're talking about play it in comparison.
- 36:44Speaker 1: The only way to get into the only way to
- 36:46Speaker 1: get into the goat conversation from what you three are
- 36:49Speaker 1: speaking of, is I gotta have went out and won
- 36:51Speaker 1: some rings. That's that's so. Bill Russell is the greatest
- 36:54Speaker 1: basketball player of all time. Some people may say that,
- 36:58Speaker 1: but not just because he won that. So I gotta
- 37:02Speaker 1: be good and then I gotta win, and then that
- 37:06Speaker 1: makes me better. I'm just going off of talent. I'm
- 37:10Speaker 1: telling you who is the better talent. Damn Marino is
- 37:16Speaker 1: a better talent than Tom Brady. He was a better
- 37:21Speaker 1: quarterback than Tom Brady. And see what I'm saying. Only
- 37:24Speaker 1: Tom Brady played on better teams than Dan Marino.
- 37:28Speaker 7: But sports is the only place where we can do
- 37:30Speaker 7: that sports jock and we'll be back.
- 37:33Speaker 1: What a sports jock show right after this. I got
- 37:36Speaker 1: a wama over town. That's good to me.

- 41:35Speaker 1: We see guys that, in essence and my conscience, are
- 41:42Speaker 1: the greatest at what they do. But our culture now says,
- 41:48Speaker 1: but if you didn't win a ring, and I guess
- 41:53Speaker 1: maybe people don't grasp how hard it is to win
- 42:01Speaker 1: a team sport without a team. Everybody talks about it
- 42:06Speaker 1: as though it's a one on one ideology. But I'm
- 42:11Speaker 1: on a team. Somebody blocks for the quarterback, somebody pitches
- 42:18Speaker 1: for Barry Bonds. I can go out and hit four
- 42:22Speaker 1: home runs in a game and lose, and you're saying
- 42:27Speaker 1: I hit four home runs each game and then win
- 42:32Speaker 1: a championship. I asked, my I still aren't as good
- 42:36Speaker 1: as the guy I got a question. And that's what
- 42:38Speaker 1: gets confusing. I've I've never understood the magnitude. And when
- 42:43Speaker 1: I look at an athlete, I look at the individual.
- 42:46Speaker 1: The winning incomes that they got better teams more so
- 42:50Speaker 1: than you're better than this player. But go ahead, bat producer.
- 42:54Speaker 1: I know if someone online has something to say, then
- 42:56Speaker 1: you say yeah.
- 42:57Speaker 7: One of our lower listeners, Keith Ramsey asked, or just
- 43:01Speaker 7: coming to imagine Bird without a ring or Jordan without
- 43:04Speaker 7: a ring? And before you start, bad producer, We've often
- 43:08Speaker 7: had discussions on this show and you make the comment
- 43:10Speaker 7: that the victors write the history. The people who win
- 43:14Speaker 7: the war write the history. These people who win these
- 43:16Speaker 7: rings have set the bar as this is part of
- 43:19Speaker 7: what you have to be to be a goat. Now,
- 43:23Speaker 7: I didn't make those rules. I just live in the roofs.
- 43:26Speaker 7: Like with the there are a lot of people.
- 43:28Speaker 1: The media made these rules.
- 43:30Speaker 7: Well, just like we had recently politically, they changed a
- 43:34Speaker 7: lot of names of military bases and took down statues
- 43:40Speaker 7: and those were historic monuments. But people decided that the
- 43:45Speaker 7: bar that had been set, the media whomever decided no, no,
- 43:50Speaker 7: they wanted to change.
- 43:51Speaker 1: There's only two people. There is the media and then
- 43:54Speaker 1: there's the players. It's like I tell you about hitting,
- 44:00Speaker 1: the media decided to remove a hit or play. Is
- 44:06Speaker 1: that not correct? Per?
- 44:08Speaker 13: Is that not what told us? He did tell us.
- 44:13Speaker 1: That that the media, which is the they decide and
- 44:16Speaker 1: then we adhere to whatever.
- 44:18Speaker 13: Rule that the fans won.
- 44:21Speaker 7: So there was a time film and I'm saying, a
- 44:25Speaker 7: lot of this is a shift in sensible and you
- 44:27Speaker 7: can tell this with with the A lot of this
- 44:30Speaker 7: is a lot of this shifting sensibility. There was a
- 44:33Speaker 7: time when we were told that the goat has to
- 44:37Speaker 7: be this, this, this, and this.
- 44:39Speaker 1: No, I don't know, I don't remember that. I don't know.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I can say that too.
- 44:42Speaker 7: It never really was that there was a time when
- 44:45Speaker 7: to be a goat you had to have a championship. No,
- 44:48Speaker 7: there was a time to be a goat that in
- 44:50Speaker 7: the goat conversation you had to talk about the number
- 44:53Speaker 7: of rings that goat had won. And now sensibilities have
- 44:57Speaker 7: changed and people want.
- 44:59Speaker 1: To Kenny, I didn't even know about the heart. I
- 45:01Speaker 1: didn't know about winnings rings. Into the nineties, nobody cared
- 45:06Speaker 1: whether you had won a ring or not. They cared
- 45:09Speaker 1: about how you performed. Dominique Wilkins was Dominique Wilsons, and
- 45:14Speaker 1: he was the human highlight film. Whether he had a
- 45:17Speaker 1: ring or not was not whether I thought he was great,
- 45:20Speaker 1: And sensibility shifted. That's what I'm saying. This is what
- 45:24Speaker 1: Lebron is saying. When did you decide that the ring
- 45:30Speaker 1: is the common thread with greatness?
- 45:32Speaker 7: When the rings started being attached to the shoe sails.
- 45:35Speaker 9: And the jersey wales, I think as eras changed. Like
- 45:40Speaker 9: Lebron never played against Jordan, So if there's a faction
- 45:46Speaker 9: of people at Jordan's the greatest player, now there's.
- 45:49Speaker 1: But you don't demand Lebron think about Lebron got drafted
- 45:54Speaker 1: twenty three years ago. In the twenty three years since then, Right,
- 45:58Speaker 1: how many guys have been regulated demanded to win a ring?
- 46:06Speaker 1: I think that you ain't have an outside from him
- 46:09Speaker 1: that that ring must be one. Shay Gilchrist won a
- 46:13Speaker 1: ring last night. Right, he has it on his finger.
- 46:15Speaker 1: He's he's good, But he had he didn't come into
- 46:18Speaker 1: the leading mandated. His greatness wasn't going to be defined
- 46:24Speaker 1: if he didn't. Well listen, So it seems like you
- 46:29Speaker 1: only made this rule up for Lebron. Two things?
- 46:36Speaker 13: Can I say?
- 46:36Speaker 1: You did?
- 46:37Speaker 5: You not?
- 46:37Speaker 1: You don't seen the real league?
- 46:38Speaker 7: I got to I need to say I got to.
- 46:42Speaker 7: I got to first. Kenny the goat. I never heard
- 46:47Speaker 7: the word goat.
- 46:48Speaker 13: Associated only athlete ever heard about being a goat was
- 46:51Speaker 13: Muhammad Ali. Never heard that with any other sport until
- 46:55Speaker 13: like the late nineties you start hearing early two thousand,
- 46:58Speaker 13: we started hearing about goats always Muhammad Ali was the goat.
- 47:02Speaker 13: My thing is like a lot of us talked over
- 47:04Speaker 13: the weekend. If well Lebron bringing this up and he's
- 47:09Speaker 13: saying this, Well, why did you go to Miami? Why
- 47:11Speaker 13: did you do what you do to go get a ring?
- 47:13Speaker 1: Then?
- 47:14Speaker 7: And now you're saying the ring culture was a problem,
- 47:19Speaker 7: and it's and by you going and other seeing you
- 47:22Speaker 7: move and making super teams or kad in then moving around,
- 47:26Speaker 7: you helped create this ring culture.
- 47:28Speaker 1: No, I did not. No, I think he leaned into it,
- 47:31Speaker 1: and now he I did not. I didn't. I did not.
- 47:34Speaker 1: It's just he did the same thing that. First of all,
- 47:37Speaker 1: before y'all go to putting on Lebron, Kevin the big ticket,
- 47:41Speaker 1: Garnett left Minnesota, Ray Allen left Milwaukee to go play
- 47:48Speaker 1: with Paul Pierce to start this whole Big three thing off.
- 47:52Speaker 1: So stop trying to lay the law on Lebron. Now,
- 47:57Speaker 1: somebody smart like Lebron who was eight team when he
- 48:00Speaker 1: got in the league places five or six years and
- 48:03Speaker 1: realizes that Big Kenny is never going to respect his
- 48:08Speaker 1: game unless he wins a ring. Well, I guess I
- 48:13Speaker 1: better go find me a better team then, because because
- 48:16Speaker 1: I want to be in the goat company.
- 48:18Speaker 7: Because that's the only way I can be in it.
- 48:19Speaker 7: That's and that's the only way I can get in it.
- 48:22Speaker 7: The reality, and that's all I'm thinking about. The reality.
- 48:25Speaker 7: That's why, that's why, that's why we have a ring culture.
- 48:28Speaker 7: But that reality, his reality right, see abilities change.
- 48:31Speaker 1: He had to go search for a ring because you
- 48:34Speaker 1: ain't gonna give him no credit.
- 48:36Speaker 7: And sports yack. Listen, what I'm saying is this at
- 48:38Speaker 7: my age. Now I realize who I was at twenty three.
- 48:42Speaker 1: But that's something. But twenty three, you wasn't gonna tell
- 48:46Speaker 1: me not to be that person.
- 48:47Speaker 9: Perspective preceded Lebron too, as far as like when guys
- 48:51Speaker 9: came into the league and they became stars, winning awards
- 48:55Speaker 9: or whatever, there's some there are people in the meetings like, oh,
- 48:57Speaker 9: they're never going to win.
- 48:58Speaker 1: They said that about Jordan. He can't know they didn't.
- 49:04Speaker 13: They did say that about Mike.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Mike that never had. Mike had no pressure to win nothing.
- 49:08Speaker 9: I mean, it's not saying there was pressure to do
- 49:11Speaker 9: with me Michael George. They said he can't win playing
- 49:13Speaker 9: like that.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he can't be out the way he was win
- 49:17Speaker 1: not champions not championship, championship.
- 49:21Speaker 9: When he got his head, it was it wasn't It
- 49:24Speaker 9: wasn't as loud because this is it wasn't.
- 49:26Speaker 1: As it happened.

- 50:45Speaker 15: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 50:49Speaker 15: It's a powerful opioate, often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 50:52Speaker 15: with illicted drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 50:56Speaker 15: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams about the
- 51:00Speaker 15: size of a few grains of sand, could potentially be lethal.
- 51:03Speaker 15: This isn't an ad to scare you, but it isn't
- 51:05Speaker 15: that to make you think twice. Get the facts. Go
- 51:08Speaker 15: to Real Deal on fentanyl dot com. This message is
- 51:11Speaker 15: brought to you by the Ad Council.
- 51:15Speaker 1: And now back to the sports job, Wayne Gamby.
- 51:21Speaker 21: Center cord on sports news gossip blah blah blah blah blah.
- 51:29Speaker 7: Not usually I don't do this, but uh, go ahead
- 51:32Speaker 7: on break them off with the little previews or the remix.
- 51:35Speaker 22: Now, I'm not trying.
- 51:36Speaker 13: To be ruled, but hey for the girl in the
- 51:37Speaker 13: feeling ju the way you do, the.
- 51:39Speaker 16: Things you do reminds me of my next is cool.
- 51:42Speaker 1: That's why I'm Hall of fam. Your grill trying to
- 51:44Speaker 1: get you to a hotel. You must be a football coach.
- 51:47Speaker 1: The way you've got the play in the fields.
- 51:49Speaker 14: Will they be give me that?
- 51:51Speaker 1: What makes it a sports shock show? I'm the sports
- 51:53Speaker 1: shock Wayne again, did good morning to you. We've had
- 51:57Speaker 1: a great debate here about the ring culture. It seems
- 52:01Speaker 1: to be only demanded We've talked about that before on
- 52:06Speaker 1: the show. Who gets has to go? Win? The Atlanta
- 52:11Speaker 1: Hawks drafted first pick of the draft risus Year, but
- 52:23Speaker 1: he has no pressure of delivering a championship none. So
- 52:31Speaker 1: I'm giving you he has no pressure I even getting
- 52:34Speaker 1: us to the playoffs. I'm giving you an example of
- 52:37Speaker 1: how the idea of the ring seems to only count
- 52:42Speaker 1: towards one or two people. Steven A. Smith, who someone
- 52:49Speaker 1: sent me a report I don't even know why. We
- 52:53Speaker 1: you know, say would be ring and it's under achievement
- 53:00Speaker 1: and and that.
- 53:01Speaker 9: And it's it's going to that step now to where
- 53:05Speaker 9: you gotta win the ring in a certain way, or
- 53:10Speaker 9: you gotta win a certain number of rings. A lot
- 53:12Speaker 9: of people, as far as the goat debate, it's always
- 53:16Speaker 9: Lebron and Jordan, and don't include a player like Kobe.
- 53:19Speaker 9: And they said, well, those first three rings don't count
- 53:22Speaker 9: because he had Shack.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Well, Kobe Ranshack out of town because the ring culture
- 53:27Speaker 1: demanded he has to be the key element to the ring.
- 53:32Speaker 1: So still of me keeping the diesel around and making
- 53:35Speaker 1: it easy. But I'm not going you're not going to
- 53:41Speaker 1: give me the credit for it, because what people still
- 53:45Speaker 1: don't do. They still don't illuminate that. Most guy that
- 53:55Speaker 1: win ring did it with two other Hall of famers.
- 54:02Speaker 1: That's typically the makeup of the team there.
- 54:06Speaker 9: I think the only outlier of that is the two
- 54:08Speaker 9: thousand and four Pistons, well two of them in there.
- 54:11Speaker 9: But they have to they have to Johnson, Bill Luke's
- 54:14Speaker 9: Ben Wallace. I think I think, like the top seventy offer,
- 54:20Speaker 9: there's a couple of.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Rip Hamilton got a case, Prince. You just need the
- 54:25Speaker 1: right person to go in and he gonna throw He
- 54:27Speaker 1: is like, hold on, y'all, hold on. I'm just I'm
- 54:31Speaker 1: just saying if somebody like a DeMar DeRozan goes in right,
- 54:35Speaker 1: then Rip Hamilton's gonna feel like, here go my rep.
- 54:39Speaker 1: So I'm saying every all the rest of these teams
- 54:42Speaker 1: got multiple but they only put it on one person.
- 54:46Speaker 1: And I just always, as I said, I've always wondered
- 54:49Speaker 1: this from even as an athlete, how does that diminish
- 54:54Speaker 1: the greatness of Karl Malone? And ask you this? You
- 54:58Speaker 1: just Allen iverson telling me ai Ai, I'm not a
- 55:03Speaker 1: real person. Not the computer program Alan all one hundred
- 55:09Speaker 1: and sixty eight pounds of was not what you would
- 55:15Speaker 1: deem to be an incredible basketball player. He was a
- 55:19Speaker 1: incredible at now the answer to your yeah, he's the answer.
- 55:24Speaker 13: That's why they called him.
- 55:25Speaker 7: Listeners, now, while we're having this, you called it a
- 55:28Speaker 7: spirited debate sports jock and Keith Ramsey said it sounds
- 55:31Speaker 7: like sports jock want to take Big Kenny in the
- 55:33Speaker 7: bad producer, he said, my man producer and put the
- 55:36Speaker 7: pads and gear on and set of this outside. Hold up,
- 55:40Speaker 7: waits listen next note, but listen next to what he
- 55:44Speaker 7: said here on the next one. Well, I just want
- 55:46Speaker 7: and this is the next thing I said. Well, I
- 55:49Speaker 7: didn't see Uncle Charlie's comment. Oh uh, he said Keith
- 55:52Speaker 7: Ramsey trying to get the sports jock childe with a homicide.
- 55:57Speaker 1: But this is what you you just mentioned. You mentioned
- 56:00Speaker 1: I've walked out on the field, and if I go
- 56:02Speaker 1: out on the field, God rest is soul. Derreck Thomas
- 56:07Speaker 1: play for the Chiefs. Blave Alabama. Didn't get a ring,
- 56:11Speaker 1: right he bad boy, bad boy? We we the people
- 56:18Speaker 1: the left tackle no understand that we're going to Arrowhead.
- 56:26Speaker 1: There's gonna be some smoke going in to day.
- 56:29Speaker 7: Hey yea, And and that leads and that leads me
- 56:39Speaker 7: to my That segues me to my question for you.
- 56:42Speaker 7: Is you mentioned earlier that the media decided and then
- 56:47Speaker 7: you mentioned a stephen A saying that if Giannis doesn't
- 56:51Speaker 7: win another ring, he's an underachiever. Is the problem that
- 56:54Speaker 7: we've made the sports broadcaster more of an authority than
- 57:00Speaker 7: the actual athlete. Oh definitely. And stephen A really don't
- 57:08Speaker 7: know what he taught because he was.
- 57:09Speaker 1: He was on a panel last week with Tracy McGrady
- 57:12Speaker 1: and Gilbert Arenas, who both had long careers. For those
- 57:18Speaker 1: first seven eight years of team at.
- 57:20Speaker 9: Career he got he was getting in the Hall of Fame.
- 57:25Speaker 1: We had that back surgery and couldn't jump anymore, and they,
- 57:28Speaker 1: to a man, said that that's not what makes you
- 57:33Speaker 1: the goat. Michael Jordan is what we call the best
- 57:40Speaker 1: play of all time. I can't argue a part that
- 57:48Speaker 1: makes that not true. I can argue a part where
- 57:52Speaker 1: Lebron is on the same level that Kareem career was
- 57:58Speaker 1: even more out rageous. We're just talking about careers.
- 58:03Speaker 13: Yeah, the only man to win in high school, college
- 58:06Speaker 13: and the pros.
- 58:07Speaker 1: But you never heard stephen A say, but Corien do.
- 58:11Speaker 1: But it seems that the narrative is to always find
- 58:15Speaker 1: a space that Michael Jordan comes up on top. They
- 58:22Speaker 1: always cut edit the film at the statistic that allows
- 58:29Speaker 1: him to be he never missed a shot, and my thing,
- 58:34Speaker 1: I think that.
- 58:36Speaker 7: And he had Irene Cara, Felicia Rashad, and Vanessa Williams
- 58:44Speaker 7: all at the same time, and then Janet Jackson allegedly
- 58:48Speaker 7: allegedly on.
- 58:51Speaker 13: The sports get Michael gils.
- 59:01Speaker 5: I didn't I SHO.
- 59:10Speaker 4: Don't go away more of the sports Josh Yo with
- 59:13Speaker 4: Wayne Gandy has um um next.
- 59:17Speaker 22: I never realized that I'd be taking care of a
- 59:20Speaker 22: two year old and a nine year old on my own.
- 59:23Speaker 22: I think men can be a little stubborn sometimes where
- 59:26Speaker 22: pride gets in the way and they may want the help,
- 59:29Speaker 22: they may not know how to ask. With my traditions,
- 59:33Speaker 22: with the family support in line, and just with my
- 59:36Speaker 22: mind frame, I was able to turn a negative into
- 59:39Speaker 22: a positive. I knew I needed more tools in my
- 59:42Speaker 22: toolbox to take care of these little girls that just
- 59:46Speaker 22: lost their mother. It's time for me to be that
- 59:48Speaker 22: father that I knew I could be. I think just
- 59:51Speaker 22: being that good role model as well, that model's good
- 59:54Speaker 22: behavior in front of them, going to work every day,
- 59:57Speaker 22: coming home and being able to put on that smile.
- 1:00:00Speaker 22: The biggest reward about being a dad is sitting back
- 1:00:03Speaker 22: and watching your kids be happy.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: Never stop being a dad.
- 1:00:09Speaker 13: That's dedication.

- 1:01:46Speaker 1: a good team unity like it just is just a
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: good team with an up and coming superstar and s
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: g A. But they they don't. I mean, whoever draft
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: them got a good mixture of at least now. Now
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: we will see when the endorsements and the winning does
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: it go to anyone head, But right now, the temperament
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: of them, it just blends together. They got the recipe down.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Two pinches of this black pepper round, they got it.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Just they go to throw the garlic. No, no, just
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: three pinches, one pinch out. Yeah, they seem to have it.
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: They seem And now I saw shades of that with Indiana,
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: and it seemed to be more glaring last night when
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: Tyler Halliburton went out that one pinch seemed to affect them,
- 1:02:39Speaker 7: especially in the third quarter when they start having all
- 1:02:42Speaker 7: those turnovers. He seemed to be the deciding factor in
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: them staying calm. Okay, we you know, we made mistakes
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: before everybody calmed down and then they come back and
- 1:02:52Speaker 7: pull it together.
- 1:02:53Speaker 9: He's their prime, their primary playmaker, right and McConnell, TJ
- 1:02:59Speaker 9: McConnell come in, he's not really that, he's one that
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: like is that spark off the bench. Yeah, what I'm saying,
- 1:03:05Speaker 9: he's far as being that playmaker. Halliburton was really the
- 1:03:09Speaker 9: only guy on the roster that they have, so it
- 1:03:11Speaker 9: affected that. It affected them like who can get somebody?
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: And this is something I tell with the Hawks and
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: me and the Bad Producer of going back and forth
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: about you do have to have that whoever is your
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: main guy has to have a certain magnetism to them. Yeah,
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: that the other guys are drawn too. And I say
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: that the people and I'm like, it's just it's the vibe,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: the volume that Trey is vibing at doesn't seem to
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: bring the guys to him.
- 1:03:49Speaker 7: It's not one, he doesn't vibrate three.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: It's like they are still Trey Young and the tray yet.
- 1:04:00Speaker 23: Right right, it's not the Hawks, not the Hawks' not
- 1:04:05Speaker 23: not the Hawks. Temptation, temptation, And then it was David
- 1:04:08Speaker 23: Roughing the heartbeats and that's and that's what I tell people.
- 1:04:18Speaker 23: I say, it's not It's just that either Trade will
- 1:04:21Speaker 23: mature in a year or two. But there's a vibe
- 1:04:24Speaker 23: that he has to give the other guys that does
- 1:04:26Speaker 23: not diminish his greatness or his ability, but it lures
- 1:04:33Speaker 23: that he has some kind of fear that someone is
- 1:04:35Speaker 23: going to outshine in so he vibrates where he makes
- 1:04:40Speaker 23: sure alone not big Kenny be going out here scoring
- 1:04:45Speaker 23: thirty points. You see you ain't got with seventeen and
- 1:04:47Speaker 23: now you're trying to show me up.
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: Well see that. This is what I'm saying about it Trade.
- 1:04:50Speaker 7: You said he got a couple more years to make
- 1:04:52Speaker 7: me mature. I would think by this time.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: No, I believe I'm saying more like for the Hawks
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: to continue to think that he's the guy, right, is
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: what I mean. I'm talking about. There's going to be
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: some sort of ship with his philosophy, and I'm like, well,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: you you're that guy has to win or lose. Something
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: has to be And I've sold a b abroduce of this.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: Where other the other superstar that you're missing wants to
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: come here? Where KD did? Have you AD's now got
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: traded from the Suns to the Rockets, right right, But
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: the Hawks wasn't on his short list at all. And
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: the Hawks, anybody's short list of the places that has
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: to do with either the coach or the superstar, is
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: vibing what this guy wants to come. Can we can
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: we start saying maybe management, because here's the maturity thing
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: with Trey with management for like thirty five years. It's
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: been a problem with the Hawks. Even it goes back
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: with Picky and chooser.
- 1:06:06Speaker 13: But my thing is with Trey was when after the
- 1:06:09Speaker 13: New York series, when he bought bought Atlanta back and
- 1:06:13Speaker 13: he put us on the back and we went real
- 1:06:14Speaker 13: deep in the playoffs. You would think that that's when
- 1:06:17Speaker 13: you thought that he would get that frequency, right, but
- 1:06:20Speaker 13: he did never did so but the Hawks. But I'm
- 1:06:23Speaker 13: saying the Hawks missed on that. You think that they
- 1:06:25Speaker 13: would say, hey, let me get him out of here,
- 1:06:27Speaker 13: let's get some other frequency to try to get us
- 1:06:30Speaker 13: on that frequency, but they haven't.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I would put it as simple as this, before you
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: go to management, I don't know Trey Young, just like
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: I didn't know I don't know Shuder Sanders. How the
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: players react to Trey and even shoulder back in Cleveland.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: I don't not in Cleveland. In Colorado, it's as though
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: they came to practice with two dough nuts. They knew
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: they was going to practice, and both of them, but
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: just getting a dozen. Both of these donuts. I stopped anyway,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: so I will.
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: Just get I came in eating one donut and holding
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: another donut in my bare hands, so you.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Know when they eat him. I just went on and
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: guy a dozen and put them on the table in
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: the middle. They come in and I play with guys
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: like that. They don't ever attract Most of them are receivers.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: I do want to know why receivers are like they are.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: They all like that. It's just one egg McMuffin in
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: that bag. He's never coming in with something for the
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: rest of the guy. He does everything in a solo.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: Our guys with yellow jackets instead of can't you want
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: to know why they're different, because that's literally their temperament.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: It is the eye show to the point that's they
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: just come back with one gatorade. Y'all all the way
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: over that to the cooler. It's Olco mantion Greg over there.
- 1:08:04Speaker 7: Cramp came back with the pint size gator, right, I
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: ain't know you ain't ain't even a swig.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: For the record, you gotta have a guy that man
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: that that kind of gives that vibe off, whether it's
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: true or not. KD at least is honest with his
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: You're not expecting anything from here hosting the team barbecue. Hey, KD,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: you want to know you even ask Hey, KD, would
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: you be No, we didn't ask you.
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: Just whatever it is, find somebody else to do about
- 1:08:40Speaker 7: to pass me the song. This dude, this dude, broh
- 1:08:45Speaker 7: y'all get y'all boy twin. He's stressing me out with
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: this past last a Tobyo Brown seems to be out
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: of the country from what the reports say, how much
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: is that he is still wanted for attempted murders? That
- 1:09:02Speaker 7: still was he wanting in their interest interest? Okay, he
- 1:09:08Speaker 7: thought it was a warrant still pending. Listen, listen, if
- 1:09:14Speaker 7: you can afford to get out of the country to
- 1:09:16Speaker 7: dodge the warrant, I would say, you know.
- 1:09:19Speaker 13: I hope there's hope we went some way he can't
- 1:09:25Speaker 13: be extradited.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: Well, I'm sure that's where he.
- 1:09:27Speaker 7: I think he's in Venezuela or somewhere like where it's
- 1:09:30Speaker 7: going to be difficult at very.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: But but and that's why I brought it up because
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: I know you and Bad Producer know a lot about
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: this subject of dodging the police, right because we all
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: do it.
- 1:09:43Speaker 7: Yeah, we've all been on the run from the police.
- 1:09:45Speaker 7: That right, you're right, sports twin, that's my twin right there,
- 1:09:49Speaker 7: you're right, you're right. Listen, t this is how I go.
- 1:09:53Speaker 10: Good.
- 1:09:54Speaker 7: If he's in a country that doesn't have loose extradition
- 1:09:57Speaker 7: laws or doesn't have an extradition treating country, they doesn't
- 1:10:00Speaker 7: say where he is, but he gonna.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: Have to stay there. Now, will the government try to
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: hold this against him?
- 1:10:05Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, Well, what I'm saying, they'll put the
- 1:10:07Speaker 7: warrant out and he has to stay where he is
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: because if he goes to the airport and he goes
- 1:10:11Speaker 7: to any country that has extradition to the consulate, when
- 1:10:16Speaker 7: he goes through customs, it'll flag warrant and they'll just
- 1:10:20Speaker 7: hold him in that country for the United States to
- 1:10:23Speaker 7: come get him.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: So he is under the understanding that once he decides
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: to come back to the United States.
- 1:10:30Speaker 7: He can't come back as they're gonna arrest him. Yes,
- 1:10:33Speaker 7: he knows that. So he might just be trying to
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: get a couple of fun days in or just because
- 1:10:38Speaker 7: he got to be on a time limit. Yeah, time
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: limit over this country. Yeah, you can't be here forever. Yes,
- 1:10:45Speaker 7: unless they have a ninety days yeah, something like a
- 1:10:50Speaker 7: visa depends on the country.
- 1:10:52Speaker 13: Yeah, unless he got a work visa.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: So he might knowing him, He just might be having
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: a couple of free, happy.
- 1:10:58Speaker 7: Days trying to figure out his how we're gonna work
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: this out, seeing if the person would take a plea.
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: It takes it takes going to court to do all Okay, okay,
- 1:11:10Speaker 7: So now the smart thing would have been to empty
- 1:11:13Speaker 7: that counts and then leave the country because you have
- 1:11:16Speaker 7: to have court orders to do all of that. So
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: he could have done that, gotten his money and transferred
- 1:11:21Speaker 7: it somewhere else. And now he just planned to hop
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: island island til you know what I mean, until they
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: catch up with him. It's some people to do that,
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: just stay on the run until you catch me.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: So what would be his best plan to just go
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: ahead on and turn himself.
- 1:11:36Speaker 7: In Twain, You'd have to ask somebody else about turning
- 1:11:42Speaker 7: I don't have no point of reference for you got no.
- 1:11:45Speaker 9: No, I'm just saying if he ran, he probably did it. No,
- 1:11:49Speaker 9: he ain't running, man, He just going to chill it relaxed.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: For a little bit. We don't know that because he
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: tweets that.
- 1:11:56Speaker 9: The message he put out when he left, he said
- 1:11:59Speaker 9: it was about the country.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Ain't no more child support. Tell your mama get a job.
- 1:12:05Speaker 7: See that's that's a declaration, right, there's nothing about the
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: actual ran from running from child support.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Give him around of applause for that one. A B.
- 1:12:23Speaker 7: This is the big chest, mister, Tell your mama to

- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Kevin Durant now Houston Rocket.
- 1:19:13Speaker 13: I sen the meme that said he got to go
- 1:19:14Speaker 13: check in with Jay Prince though, uh with Jay Prince. Yeah,
- 1:19:19Speaker 13: before he comes to Houston, he got to check in.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: That's that's on his timeline. That's black Twitter or black eggs,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: whatever they call it. Now, why would I need to
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: check in with because.
- 1:19:30Speaker 7: J Prince is the crime lord boss of Houston allegedly.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Because when you go to Detroit, you got check in
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: with Trick Trick. I've been to Detroit. I didn't check in.
- 1:19:42Speaker 13: We'll see what you not in that you know, you know.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: I'm in the world.
- 1:19:46Speaker 13: You missed when.
- 1:19:51Speaker 7: I go places like that, and I'm in places like that,
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: and I ain't never checked in with Trick Trick.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Because when you say that somebody needs to check in,
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: you make it sound like the person is about to
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: do something criminal. Now it's not, it's it's it makes
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: it seem like that.
- 1:20:07Speaker 13: But right now it was like because you even heard
- 1:20:12Speaker 13: like right before rich only Kwan had passed away. He
- 1:20:14Speaker 13: said that when he first went out to La, the
- 1:20:17Speaker 13: guy said, hey, we gotta go see big you and
- 1:20:19Speaker 13: them before I take you to the hotel. So he
- 1:20:21Speaker 13: said they was at the park with the kids out
- 1:20:23Speaker 13: doing things, football part or something, and so they went
- 1:20:25Speaker 13: and just said hey to them or so, hey, I'm
- 1:20:27Speaker 13: in the town. Yeah, we knew us it down.
- 1:20:28Speaker 7: We know the alleged the alleged philosophy behind this. It's
- 1:20:33Speaker 7: high profile people coming to my city needs checking in
- 1:20:36Speaker 7: with me, and it's alleged that this is.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: Somewhat of a shakedown.
- 1:20:39Speaker 7: But if you come in and check in with me
- 1:20:42Speaker 7: and you basically I ensure your safety. Why you here
- 1:20:47Speaker 7: and for that privilege, you make sure that you take
- 1:20:50Speaker 7: care of us and the people, which you know.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: Again all of that is alleged, but I need protection
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: to go down here. To Ruth Chris, it's what people
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: in Atlanta. See.
- 1:21:02Speaker 13: You don't have to check in. You are Atlanta right now.
- 1:21:04Speaker 13: But see there's really no check in in Atlanta because
- 1:21:07Speaker 13: it's just certain cities that try to do that.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: We play ball in La Saint Louis, Pittsburgh, New Orleans,
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: San Antonio.
- 1:21:17Speaker 7: I ain't checked and This is the other nuance of
- 1:21:21Speaker 7: that side. The people that say you gotta check in
- 1:21:24Speaker 7: with me might make you feel uncomfortable for your safety
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: because they might want to do something to you.
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: But people but people but me.
- 1:21:34Speaker 7: But I'm not afraid of that because I'll have somebody
- 1:21:36Speaker 7: come do.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: Something to you too.
- 1:21:38Speaker 13: But sports jock is not active, so they wouldn't come
- 1:21:42Speaker 13: to him.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: When I played, I wasn't active, no meaning like like
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: most of the high profile people twit in a nutshell,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: if I need to go check in with you about something,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I don't need to go to those places anyway anyway anyway.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: So you know why I didn't check in because I
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: don't want to come hang out with you anyway, y'all.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: I don't want to hang in no area that needs
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: to be checked in because I doubt that you're checked
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: in places are even attractive. So when you say that
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: I know what check in, don't don't think I just
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: fell off the tree. I just always wonder why I
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: wasn't planning to go down to the South side of
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: Chicago anyway for no real reason period. I don't want
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: to see the street that they shot to shy on
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: nothing and you're gonna have to come down here to
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: the risk you got to come find no, because I
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: believe that Chicago has just as much fun in the
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: places I can want to go without being checked in,
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: they might not.
- 1:22:56Speaker 9: Let you go.
- 1:22:56Speaker 7: See the trust me, I didn't been to all them places.
- 1:22:59Speaker 7: You right, You're right that it's fun on Michigan Avenue two.
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: And Livery.
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: Don't Go Away, or of the Sports Josh Show with
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: Wayne Dandius Dumming up next.
- 1:23:33Speaker 10: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance. Three
- 1:23:36Speaker 10: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:23:39Speaker 10: of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually have
- 1:23:43Speaker 10: life insurance.
- 1:23:44Speaker 25: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:23:46Speaker 25: just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:23:48Speaker 25: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 1:23:50Speaker 8: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:23:54Speaker 25: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:23:55Speaker 25: bills piling up, I was worried how my family was
- 1:23:57Speaker 25: survived without me. That's when I'm in an appointment with
- 1:23:59Speaker 25: the insurance informants.
- 1:24:01Speaker 10: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 1:24:04Speaker 10: security no matter what stage of life you're.
- 1:24:06Speaker 25: In now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether
- 1:24:08Speaker 25: I leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:24:10Speaker 10: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 1:24:13Speaker 10: whether you earn a little or a lot, all you
- 1:24:15Speaker 10: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 1:24:18Speaker 10: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 1:24:21Speaker 10: two options, benefits or bills. Which legacy will you leave behind?
- 1:24:26Speaker 10: Log on today Benefits or bills?
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Dot com?
- 1:24:29Speaker 10: That's benefits or bills dot com?
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: Hurting the game.
- 1:24:34Speaker 6: We tough it out, feel exhausted, we push on feeling down.
- 1:24:40Speaker 6: We pull ourselves up by the bootstraps. But there are
- 1:24:43Speaker 6: times when bootstraps aren't enough, when stress gets to us
- 1:24:47Speaker 6: and we need to talk to someone about what we're
- 1:24:49Speaker 6: really going through. So we're going to reach out because
- 1:24:53Speaker 6: sometimes mental health is not a one person job. Is it?
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Love Yourmind Today dot org. That's love your Mind Today
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: dot org.
- 1:25:00Speaker 6: Brought to you by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and
- 1:25:02Speaker 6: the Head Counsel.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: And now back to the Sports Job Wayne Gandy.
- 1:25:13Speaker 21: Player's lounge have been given full access to the players
- 1:25:19Speaker 21: Lounge on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: Welcome back to the sport Shock Show. I'm the sport shock.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Wayne Gandy, Good morning. We've been talking about Antonio Brown,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: Kevin d rant the champions OKC s g A, and
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: his teammates even through into Florida Panthers winning the NHL
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: the Stanley Cup. One thing I was reading while researching
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: last night was NBA free agents across the league are
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: trying to excuse me. NBA agents across the league are
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: trying to get their clients to duck the Charlotte Hornets
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: in hopes of avoiding a place beside LaMelo Ball. Despite
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: his talents, ball shortcomings on defense and as a leader
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: for his team, I put his worth and value as
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: a player in to question a strong statement right there.
- 1:26:48Speaker 7: Well, how would that affect me and my valuation? You're
- 1:26:54Speaker 7: not being because he's the leader of the team, or.
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: Well he's the face of the franchise, and as an agent,
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: you're trying you're really basically seeing the Hornets as a
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: last resort right kind of destination mm hmm. Kind of
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: what we were talking about as whoever is supposed to
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: be the band leader right right now, creating a space
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: to where people want to play.
- 1:27:22Speaker 7: And because of the CBA with the NBA Players Association
- 1:27:29Speaker 7: and all of that. Those contracts are guaranteed. So the
- 1:27:32Speaker 7: Hornets would hear that and go, yeah, we the band
- 1:27:36Speaker 7: ain't in sync, but we can't fire. They're gonna have
- 1:27:38Speaker 7: to finish out this run. And you know what I mean.
- 1:27:40Speaker 7: They they're booked, heered through the end of the month.
- 1:27:43Speaker 7: They're gonna have to finish out these Yeah, I was
- 1:27:46Speaker 7: love the story. Yeah, as far at least one draft.
- 1:27:49Speaker 9: Prospect it was trying to did not work out for
- 1:27:54Speaker 9: them because of LaMelo Ball, like he didn't want to
- 1:27:57Speaker 9: work out for the team.
- 1:27:58Speaker 22: Mm hmmm.
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: So now you're the team, what does that make you think?
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: It would make me think because LaMelo Ball definitely has
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: the talent and the skill level. I mean when I've
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: gone and Washington played very talented young man. He is
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: the most talented of all three of the brothers. His
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: dad was correct about that. But he does ooze with immaturity.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: It's not they're not making that part of him up.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: He's you know, he spends more time dialoguing with the
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: fans and and not participating with his teams. This is
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: while on the court. So if anything, I would try
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: to maybe get this is when you have to hope
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: the one or two Chris Paul's are still around, maybe
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: you could get to come for you fourth pick the teacher.
- 1:28:58Speaker 7: And see that that's the sportslo this is his fourth year.
- 1:29:03Speaker 13: You said, no, we was asking what piggy they had.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: This will be.
- 1:29:06Speaker 7: He's and things the learning curve, and that's what I
- 1:29:14Speaker 7: imagine is part of the reality of professional sports is
- 1:29:18Speaker 7: the learning curve is truncated.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: We don't have years for you to catch on.
- 1:29:23Speaker 7: We've got games in this season and then we've got
- 1:29:26Speaker 7: this block of games where you're gonna take what you
- 1:29:29Speaker 7: learned in the first half of the season and then
- 1:29:31Speaker 7: catapult that to by the time we get to the playoffs.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: You're actually contributing to this team.
- 1:29:35Speaker 9: And was I say, at the same time, you're bringing
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: this young player to be the leader of your team,
- 1:29:43Speaker 9: the face of the franchise, and everyone on the team
- 1:29:46Speaker 9: is about the same age, so they're not there's no
- 1:29:50Speaker 9: veteran leadership. There's no one for like to take LaMelo,
- 1:29:55Speaker 9: there's an.
- 1:29:56Speaker 13: Old leader older not on the Hornets.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: We're not on any a lot.
- 1:30:00Speaker 13: Of teams there are like that. In the NBA, they
- 1:30:02Speaker 13: don't have that and that player and there are some
- 1:30:05Speaker 13: uh Okay, see the roster's not with no players have
- 1:30:10Speaker 13: been there a long time, been in the league. But
- 1:30:12Speaker 13: my thing is with the back to the draft part
- 1:30:15Speaker 13: of it, young Man said never done Playingly, he doesn't
- 1:30:18Speaker 13: want to work out for the Hornets. They got the
- 1:30:21Speaker 13: fourth pick because of LaMelo Ball and different things. LaMelo
- 1:30:25Speaker 13: has shoe deals, he has endorsements and everything. Don't you
- 1:30:30Speaker 13: think that might hurt that that draft prospect also in
- 1:30:34Speaker 13: a sense that he's probably just instead of saying.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: He know they don't want to go. They don't want
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: him to.
- 1:30:39Speaker 13: Go to Charlotte.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: Now the sensibility is the Lamental ball, but.
- 1:30:42Speaker 13: They just I don't want him to go to Charlotte.
- 1:30:45Speaker 13: I think it's more of that.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: I think the sensibilities have changed.
- 1:30:47Speaker 7: We've seen athletes and my first my first being aware
- 1:30:53Speaker 7: of it came I believe when it was Bo Jackson society.
- 1:31:00Speaker 7: He was going to play baseball, then go be drafted
- 1:31:03Speaker 7: to Tampa Bay. And then the next person I saw
- 1:31:06Speaker 7: do it was Eli Manning say no, I ain't never
- 1:31:09Speaker 7: played a down NFL football, but if this team draft me,
- 1:31:12Speaker 7: I'm not going. And I thought that that was something
- 1:31:15Speaker 7: that was a Cardinal seeing like the.
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Whole least would company out who this player was then
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: because it wasn't flag, I don't know who else is it.
- 1:31:22Speaker 7: I'm saying all of these now have started to find
- 1:31:27Speaker 7: room on whatever platform they're a part of to say
- 1:31:30Speaker 7: stuff like that, Well, I don't want to go to
- 1:31:32Speaker 7: this team, or have we saw chadur say that they had.
- 1:31:38Speaker 13: You see what should do?
- 1:31:39Speaker 7: Or this?
- 1:31:40Speaker 13: That's what I'm saying. And you, if you try to
- 1:31:42Speaker 13: command like that, I feel like you should get bombed down.
- 1:31:46Speaker 7: And I'm saying that. I'm not saying I disagree with you.
- 1:31:49Speaker 7: I'm saying that a lot of the lesson that could
- 1:31:51Speaker 7: have been learned in the Shador Sanders incident and they
- 1:31:54Speaker 7: was missed because they blamed it on Dion. They didn't
- 1:31:57Speaker 7: blame it on teams being offended because he said he
- 1:32:00Speaker 7: don't want to play and ain't never played.
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: You wasn't that good in college twins? Well, I think
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: as an organization, I would love for a player to
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: step up and tell me he doesn't want to be
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: here and we can avoid all of that wasting money
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: on you. I don't think that less of you. I
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: mean if this young man whoever he is might have
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: the same agent as another player that's on the hornet
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: who's getting inside information, like, hey man, you don't want
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: to come be part of this clown show. Players get
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: asked about different cities, different coaches, you know, part of it.
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: I think LaMelo from what I see his teammates, and
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: I said that with a lot of guys, people always
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: think that it's the franchise, right, Sometimes it's the player
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: because the other guys understand they're not the role this
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: guy is going to play in my success. You're looking
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: at it as though I should just be happy to
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: go play with LaMelo. I don't know.
- 1:33:07Speaker 7: I'm looking at it as I'm coming out. I'm happy
- 1:33:10Speaker 7: that I'm gonna get a chance to be drafted in
- 1:33:12Speaker 7: the first round of one of these thirty two teams.
- 1:33:15Speaker 13: I'm not going.
- 1:33:16Speaker 9: I'm Some guys want to have even though it's a draft.
- 1:33:19Speaker 9: They want to have some control of where they can.
- 1:33:21Speaker 13: But it's never really but sports Jack, if you want, okay,
- 1:33:25Speaker 13: let's go right, let me finish nineteen ninety four. If
- 1:33:29Speaker 13: you had a choice where you wanted to go, and
- 1:33:31Speaker 13: you could have finagled it, where would you want to.
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: Go off your first season.
- 1:33:38Speaker 13: First, you knew you were in the first round, and
- 1:33:41Speaker 13: if you could have finagled, then the way where I
- 1:33:44Speaker 13: want to go?
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: Where would you want to go? Probably the Dolphins had
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: the next pick behind me, and you wanted to go there?
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: If yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no, I didn't have a want.
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: I'm saying, if I could have switched from going out
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: to LA to stay down in Miami, Miami, yeah, with
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: a proven quarterback. The Rams at the time was in
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: rev We're trying to bring in Chris Miller to be
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: the quarterback from Atlanta, and Dan Marino was still in Miami.
- 1:34:17Speaker 7: And what I'm saying is all of that, your philosophy
- 1:34:21Speaker 7: is rooted in your sensibility. And we've seen a shift
- 1:34:24Speaker 7: in the sensibility. It used to be you're blessed, your privileged,
- 1:34:28Speaker 7: just to have the opportunity.
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: To go to the league.
- 1:34:31Speaker 7: And now with all of these nil deals and these
- 1:34:34Speaker 7: being a star since I was seven, these kids have
- 1:34:36Speaker 7: a different sensibility of entitlement.
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: I can go where I want to. Look at Caleb Williams, he.
- 1:34:42Speaker 7: Was crying in college and then he goes to the
- 1:34:45Speaker 7: NFL and he wants to be this person and justin fields.
- 1:34:50Speaker 7: He goes to the NFL and he wants to dictate
- 1:34:52Speaker 7: to the people how and what he plays and how
- 1:34:56Speaker 7: you're gonna use him. And that's being accepted now and
- 1:34:59Speaker 7: people are going going along with some of those programs.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: So and shit, we just talked about Kevin Durant giving
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: a short list. Jimmy Butler gave the Heat two or
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: three teams. Well, I understand the veteran. I'm just talking
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: about the It's the same where you you know, if
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: I can avoid, I don't want. I guess. I'm just
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: I'm just.
- 1:35:19Speaker 7: I guess I'm not if I had an opportunity, if
- 1:35:24Speaker 7: I was had that guy given talent to be drafted
- 1:35:28Speaker 7: in the first round or be happy to be drafted.
- 1:35:30Speaker 13: It seemed like the kids are not.
- 1:35:32Speaker 9: I say, as he didn't want to go that particular prospect,
- 1:35:35Speaker 9: didn't want to go to Charlotte. He didn't want to
- 1:35:38Speaker 9: play with LaMelo Ball because he sees LaMelo Ball as
- 1:35:41Speaker 9: a loser.
- 1:35:42Speaker 13: Okay, and let's say what I wish.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: We know that. I hope it comes out later. We
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: know who it was. And then we found out he
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: draft dropped draft in the second round or late in
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: the first, why would.
- 1:35:55Speaker 13: You want him to I'm not saying I wanted to.
- 1:35:56Speaker 13: I'm just saying I just hopefully.
- 1:35:58Speaker 9: He's not gonna that that particular players probably not falling
- 1:36:01Speaker 9: in the draft. I saw a story about Ace Bailey.
- 1:36:04Speaker 9: He's probably gonna be the third pick by the Sixers.
- 1:36:07Speaker 9: He skipped the Sixers workout, but that doesn't change that
- 1:36:11Speaker 9: the Sixers may still draft him. Man, I wouldn't even
- 1:36:14Speaker 9: that that like, just because it's like I don't want
- 1:36:16Speaker 9: to go here. That the way you do it, you
- 1:36:20Speaker 9: draft anymore. It doesn't come in the job interview and
- 1:36:24Speaker 9: the way you feel.
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: The only reason guys want to be drafted high is money. Yeah,
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: but you don't want to be drafted high because the
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: high teams are the sorry team. So when you really
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: ask a person what they want to be, well, I
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: want to go to the Kansas City Chiefs if I'm
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: gonna tight end. I didn't want you to draft me
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: at six to the Arizona Couote Cardinals. I want number
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: six money. But if I could take them and move
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: the Chiefs up to there, that's really how it works,
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: and you're going to be in a bad situation. That's
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: one thing we have to talk about on the show
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: one day that you were dealt a bad hand when
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: you're the first pick of the draft as a quarterback.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: You your hands so bad, you have no spades. And
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: the way you feel.
- 1:37:07Speaker 13: About books made books waye but ain't books made.
- 1:37:11Speaker 7: I ain't got no spec And the way you feel
- 1:37:13Speaker 7: about the players is why the Sabans retired because I'm
- 1:37:16Speaker 7: not finna put up with you acting like you've done
- 1:37:19Speaker 7: done this and you ain't never you you haven't even
- 1:37:22Speaker 7: proved yourself on the professional, only on college.
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: So I was just bringing up a story when I

- 1:39:58Speaker 1: And now back to the Sports job Wing Gandy.
- 1:40:10Speaker 5: It's wing.
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: Lock on so you can see a sports chaint. I'll
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: sing even big cany what back to this horys shock shop.
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: I'm the sports shock Wing Gandy. Uh it looks like
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: the Lakers are for sale. Oh they have been sold? Okay?
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: How much did they go for? Ten billion dollars? Okay
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: ten billions? Ten billion dollars? Do we know who bought them? Uh?
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: It's uh, I know his last name is Walter. Was
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: he from the tech world? It might have been the
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: like the Clippers owner. Clippers owner was like the head
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: of Microsoft or something something like that. Why do tech guys?
- 1:41:13Speaker 9: Mark Walter, CEO of t w G Global sounds tech.
- 1:41:23Speaker 9: And he's already a uh part owner, it's not majority
- 1:41:27Speaker 9: owner of the Dodgers.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: Okay, so he's already.
- 1:41:32Speaker 9: The Professional Women's Hockey League. The their championship is called
- 1:41:38Speaker 9: the Walter Cup, which is named after him.
- 1:41:40Speaker 13: So he's uh so he's in with Magic. Magic is
- 1:41:43Speaker 13: already a part of that Dodgers.
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: Group, so you know, but this he's he's the main, Yeah,
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: the main. How much of the team did he buy
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: a majority or it is a it is a majority
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: steak that he had.
- 1:41:59Speaker 9: He had had like a certain percentage already, so he
- 1:42:03Speaker 9: was already a part owner of the Lakers. I think
- 1:42:09Speaker 9: it was like eighty percent of something.
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: That fact. So the Bush family has decided to move
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: on with the ten billion.
- 1:42:18Speaker 9: But Jeanie is still going to be in charge, so
- 1:42:21Speaker 9: they see they still have partial ownership.
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: Okay. So so Jenie bus gets like a sweet or something.
- 1:42:28Speaker 7: She don't have to pay for tickets, but she's definitely
- 1:42:31Speaker 7: not decision making anymore.
- 1:42:33Speaker 9: Yeah, yes, yes, okay, see the governor see that seems
- 1:42:38Speaker 9: like here, I'm gonna say you my stuff, but I'm
- 1:42:40Speaker 9: still being contry.
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: Still got like five percent. Mark Cubany had the same
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: kind of deal with the Mavericks, didn't he.
- 1:42:47Speaker 9: Yeah, he still has. He still has a stake in
- 1:42:50Speaker 9: the Mavericks a lot of the time.
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: Say you my car. I'm gonna drive it, though, And
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: I would imagine that the family we have to look
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: up the family tree. Probably not a lot of grandkids.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: Things like that. A lot of times when you start
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: doing that, there's no one left to give it to
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: give it to, so I might as well cash it out,
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: or no one even left to give it to that
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: wants to run it.
- 1:43:14Speaker 7: Or knows how to run it from you, I'm not Yeah,
- 1:43:16Speaker 7: I'm not gonna let them run.
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: Rob say his three daughters just took over the colts.
- 1:43:21Speaker 13: They want They've been involved since they were young, young ladies,
- 1:43:24Speaker 13: and each one took a different position and role. So
- 1:43:27Speaker 13: you know, if you ain't got nothing, if your kids
- 1:43:29Speaker 13: ain't involved.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: Or.
- 1:43:31Speaker 13: These young ladies they want to do it.
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: So because Jeannie was like the youngest, she was the
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: youngest sibling the four or five kids that yeah, mister
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: Bush and she's what now sixty five? Yeah, so she
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: the youngest. Wow. Yeah, So it might have just been
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: a function of there are no no grandkids. This is
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: the nephews or the ones that are. That's not their mindset. Yeah,
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: a little Timmy's an imbecile. Yeah, Little Timmy's at the
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: Beverly Hills Country Club every day. He's not trying to
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: learn anything. Well, he could be the smartest man in
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: the world as we are learning with this generation just
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: does not want responsibility. That's true. They don't want grass,
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: they don't want no I'm saying to the point, they
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: don't want.
- 1:44:22Speaker 7: Any any responsibility, any any recurring built in responsibility.
- 1:44:28Speaker 13: But like I said with the daughters, luck you see,
- 1:44:31Speaker 13: mister Blank's son, he's gave it over. But this since
- 1:44:33Speaker 13: he was like a teenager, he's been right by his
- 1:44:36Speaker 13: dad and want to he was like mister Blankett even said, hey,
- 1:44:39Speaker 13: he's always given.
- 1:44:40Speaker 7: Well again, but it's got the sensibilities. There was a
- 1:44:44Speaker 7: time when you didn't have a choice. I own a team,
- 1:44:46Speaker 7: You're going to learn the business and one day you'll
- 1:44:48Speaker 7: take the team over.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: Period.
- 1:44:50Speaker 7: But now kids are willing to go well, no, I
- 1:44:52Speaker 7: don't want to take over a professional sports team, and
- 1:44:55Speaker 7: they're willing to live with the scrutiny of what did
- 1:44:58Speaker 7: you just say? Are you serious? Like all that hard
- 1:45:00Speaker 7: work your dad did you don't want to preserve that?
- 1:45:03Speaker 7: And no, I don't, and I don't feel guilty about it,
- 1:45:05Speaker 7: and I don't feel like I owe my family anything.
- 1:45:08Speaker 7: We live in a truly me generation. This is the
- 1:45:12Speaker 7: first person, most first person generation I've ever seen in
- 1:45:16Speaker 7: my life where there is no the responsibility is a
- 1:45:20Speaker 7: burden of me. Even behaving a certain way, it feels
- 1:45:23Speaker 7: like a burden to me. So don't give me any
- 1:45:26Speaker 7: of that. But I want I want the perks. I
- 1:45:30Speaker 7: want all of the perks. I just don't want the responsibility.
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: And you see more and more athletes as they get older,
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: deciding to go ahead and sell some of their stuff
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: because they understand that their children are not going to
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: see it in this way. That's all they're going to do.
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: So you raise them long enough to realize they're not
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: going to keep my things in this kind. They're gonna
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: sell my bible, yeah yeah, my trophies.
- 1:45:59Speaker 7: My trophy is in a closet at his house behind
- 1:46:03Speaker 7: some comic books, like you know that was my high
- 1:46:06Speaker 7: school h M v P State trophy and you got
- 1:46:11Speaker 7: it in a closet behind some comic books and it
- 1:46:14Speaker 7: doesn't and then you said to me, oh, Daddy, is
- 1:46:17Speaker 7: just a trophy.
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: So I'm not gonna leave any of these. Yeah, you
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: have some of those traditional franchises. Jerry Jones is trying
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: to do that with his The Roonies and the Steelers.
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: But for every one of them, you have one that's
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: a new generation is going along. They're not looking to
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: do all that.
- 1:46:36Speaker 7: You mean, get up and go into the office and
- 1:46:38Speaker 7: be like looking over papers and stuff.
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: I really cash out. That's what I'm gonna do.
- 1:46:44Speaker 7: I'm gonna just cash it out and then I'll figure
- 1:46:46Speaker 7: something else to do.
- 1:46:47Speaker 9: And I imagine that. I imagine I don't want to
- 1:46:50Speaker 9: do anything. I just might have enough the rest of
- 1:46:53Speaker 9: my life.
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: And Kenny passes away, his kids see that they can
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: cash out in billion or they can run it. What
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: do you think they're gonna do if they my keys?
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: They're not even waiting for me to die.
- 1:47:10Speaker 7: They trying to catch They coming up with a Steve
- 1:47:12Speaker 7: look twin Twin sign sign the paper, Oh this is
- 1:47:18Speaker 7: just for some student loan stuff.
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: Twin you ain't got to read it. Travis Hunter has
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: signed a four year deal with the Jaguars. I can't
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: see how they use him this year. Was still a
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: little big debate receiver, defensive back. As I have said,
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: you can start him on either side. I think he'd
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: be just as dominant, But I don't know that you
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: can play him full time on both sides. I've never
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: seen it done. I've seen guys do a lot of things.
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: He's not the first multi facet football athlete, but even
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: his mentor Dion, had to pick a side. He did.
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: He did because he was He was the first Travis.
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: He was one of the first Travis's. They put him
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: in a couple of plays and run on some deep
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: routes because of his speed, but that was about it. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: so we'll see. But Travis Hunter a Jaguar will be back.
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: More to Sports Jock Show right after.
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: This Don't go awayne Board of the Sports Jock Show
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: with Wayne Damfidius coming up next.
- 1:48:50Speaker 10: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance. Three
- 1:48:53Speaker 10: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:48:57Speaker 10: of financial security, yet only forty nine actually have life insurance.
- 1:49:01Speaker 25: When I was twenty five. Me and my wife were
- 1:49:03Speaker 25: just getting started with our family and thought we live forever.
- 1:49:06Speaker 25: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: What about you?
- 1:49:09Speaker 8: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:49:11Speaker 25: When I was forty, with a kid in college and

- 1:49:24Speaker 25: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:49:26Speaker 25: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:49:28Speaker 10: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,

- 1:51:02Speaker 1: time to put a school on board.
- 1:51:03Speaker 21: Can we put a spin on life and sports and
- 1:51:07Speaker 21: how they intermingle on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy?

- 1:51:38Speaker 1: R and B song R and B singers, singers of
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: all time, of all time, the lists. If you get
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: a chance, go look at a lot to be debated.
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: I had a heated debate last night.
- 1:51:50Speaker 7: Who was number one? Give us the top ten? But
- 1:51:55Speaker 7: can I ask a question before you get us top ten?
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: No?
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: No, no, I'm saying, if you have from mess is
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: the R and B singers?
- 1:52:02Speaker 13: What's the difference in the R and B song singers
- 1:52:05Speaker 13: is like these the best vocalists.
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: The artist, just artists, not the groups, just artists.
- 1:52:11Speaker 13: But I'm saying, I mean, that's what I'm saying. They're
- 1:52:13Speaker 13: going by vocal skills.
- 1:52:14Speaker 9: Or they considered they're considering all of that vocals skills,
- 1:52:17Speaker 9: record sales.
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: Top ten are at ten is Marvin Gay, at nine,
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: is R Kelly, at eight, is Mariah Carey. Listen at

- 1:52:42Speaker 1: is Whitney Houston at four, is Beyond Say. At three,
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: is Michael Jackson. At two is Aretha Franklin. And at
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: number one is Stevie Wonder. And you came in here
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: talking about Lebron being upset about his little culture. Are
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: you serious?
- 1:53:09Speaker 7: You didn't put beyond say in front of Prince and
- 1:53:14Speaker 7: Mariah Carey and with Michael Jackson Whitney.
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: Michael Jackson was number three.
- 1:53:21Speaker 7: Now now Stevie Wonder number one? This I love me,
- 1:53:26Speaker 7: I love me some Stevie Wonder. But ain't nobody at
- 1:53:29Speaker 7: a Stevie Wonder show they never just blacked out.
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: He ain't never been on someone.
- 1:53:33Speaker 7: Happy birthday to you, especially with Prince. Ain't nobody had
- 1:53:40Speaker 7: to pass a person to the front.
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: Stevie wanted the concert because these people they didn't get crushed,
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: They didn't have a medical emergency. They just glipsed the
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: king and fainted and was like, I can't take it.
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: Michael was too low? Come on yeah to me and
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: Mariah Carey. Have you ever been to a concert where
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: somebody passed out?

- 1:54:12Speaker 7: the best song ever in our just ever that we
- 1:54:17Speaker 7: belong together.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: You're saying that mariahs Heare is too high or too low.
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: She should be in the top five.
- 1:54:24Speaker 13: I got her?
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: Where was Mariah Carry on? There?
- 1:54:30Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: This is the thing she has been. She supposed to
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: jump Beyonce. She's the best selling female artist of all time. Man,
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: But but I'm Mariah gonna jump beyond. She's not gonna jump.
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: Whitney Houston jumping, she wasn't. She wasn't jumping. James Brown,
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: she ain't jumping.
- 1:54:53Speaker 7: I do my girl wrong. We belong together. I'm saying,
- 1:54:57Speaker 7: I'm saying in the list that he was just ain't
- 1:55:00Speaker 7: jumping because they to put her in front of Aretha Franklin.
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: Twin Prince, I'm gonna put a Prince will be on
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: the further up, and to me, Prince should be in
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: the top. You can't go all for it. Prince is
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: a musical genius.
- 1:55:19Speaker 13: Man, he plays.
- 1:55:20Speaker 9: Supposed to move down though you trying to move, can't move,
- 1:55:24Speaker 9: Princess seven. Somebody go down, Okay, Stevie gotta go down.

- 1:55:52Speaker 1: Franklin is at two. Stevie number one and Stevie Wonder
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: is number one.
- 1:55:57Speaker 7: I would switch. I would switch beyond and who was
- 1:56:01Speaker 7: behind her with Whitney Houston.
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: I would switch. Then I would bring in front. Well,
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: he's trying to put like four people.
- 1:56:09Speaker 13: I'm just bringing Mariah Carey and Prince into the top five,
- 1:56:13Speaker 13: and I'm pushing Beyonce and uh James Brown out of.
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: The top five. I mean Jameson, I mean I know
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: not R and B right, added he don't don't think
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: put me in the top five.
- 1:56:32Speaker 13: Prince, R and B.
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: Yeah, prod R and B to Michael Jackson, I'm telling
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: you that I don't know Mariah Carey's song. I never
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: went to the DJ and requested my Rij Carey. Even
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: when Mariah Carey is on, I like McRath Carey to
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: be off. So if I'm riding and one of her
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: songs pop up, Oh New York, switch so over. You
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: could actually take Mariah carry out of the top ten.
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: But if you riding along and you hear I got
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: to get over before you go, you're gonna listen.

- 1:57:36Speaker 1: no no no. It's annoying to me. You you don't
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: like that song. It's the number one selling song, is
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: what he's saying. So this this, I gotta drive to Orlando.
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: Please not play that.
- 1:57:46Speaker 7: Don't play that. What they can say like a draft,
- 1:57:48Speaker 7: it's like draft. They don't draft me to Mariah Carey
- 1:57:51Speaker 7: at the vocal prowess, body of work, career, longevity, achievements, influence,
- 1:57:59Speaker 7: and generational cultural impact. Well, she don't Beyonce on the
- 1:58:03Speaker 7: vocals because Mariah got a void considered.
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: They considered all of that like generational impact.
- 1:58:11Speaker 7: Now Beyonce has got to be the I mean, they
- 1:58:15Speaker 7: came up with a whole genre of fan for her,
- 1:58:19Speaker 7: the Beehive.
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: These aren't just music fans.
- 1:58:22Speaker 7: These are people who are fanatical about just Beyonce and
- 1:58:25Speaker 7: she All of those people will sell out whatever arena
- 1:58:28Speaker 7: she books. And that's when it comes to cultural impact.
- 1:58:33Speaker 7: She's got to be in the conversation.
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: But that's what that's why lists are subjective. Yes, because
- 1:58:40Speaker 1: I wouldn't have had I thought R. Kelly was too low.
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: What number was he he was?
- 1:58:47Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, he should have been up there with the
- 1:58:50Speaker 7: remixed to ignition. Oh just all of them from you
- 1:58:55Speaker 7: know what I'm saying.
- 1:58:56Speaker 9: And then people say they didn't want him on the
- 1:58:58Speaker 9: list at all, like crazy man, man, what they gotta do?

- 2:01:27Speaker 1: to get it fixed. But for you people that just
- 2:01:30Speaker 1: are five to seven and want to be six feet,
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: it's okay because trying to explain to her that you

- 2:02:00Speaker 9: Get a gone to the bathroom in a bucket. And
- 2:02:04Speaker 9: it's such a long process. Like you, I know, surgery
- 2:02:07Speaker 9: got it takes three years for do you walk normally?
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: I thought it was fictional. I was watching a movie

- 2:02:14Speaker 7: Buying sports jock. But people who buy would say, you
- 2:02:19Speaker 7: sound like a tall dude. You ain't never experienced life

- 2:02:24Speaker 7: It's like ball people. I always wonder like was it
- 2:02:27Speaker 7: worth all that? But I ain't never struggle to have hair,
- 2:02:30Speaker 7: so I don't know what they feel like.
- 2:02:33Speaker 1: I ain't struggling. These people know you can, Oh, they
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: can all go. I thought you first said buying hype.
- 2:02:43Speaker 4: No.
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: And it's a violent operation too. It's a very violent operation.
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: You're like igal to see it should be. They don't
