Transcript
- 0:05[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, welcome to show others receiving votes.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_02]: Sports IllustratedSide.com.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm at 40 joined as always by my friend, Jeanne Wojah, housekeeping and Jeanneau.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_02]: Before we get to the ultimate lane, Kiff and Psycha drama, we've had many Psycha dramas with him, but this is the ultimate.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: And before we get to a very unhappy Arkansas fan and another round of the trust meter and another round of game picks, by the way, mine were pretty good last week.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: We have to address some stupidity deep in the heart of Texas.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: All right, well, then I will yield the floor to the gentleman from the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, sorry.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_02]: We had a little bit of a STEM-winder setup here, but a couple of things to get to on this.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_02]: We kind of have an unfortunate dynamic happening here and sports, it seems like in 2026, American Society, American Social Media, especially as once again, hijacked a great sporting moment and sucked all the joy out of it.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: First one, I'm referring to was the back in February, the aftermath of the Olympic gold medal men's hockey game, which I covered, which is one of the best events I've covered.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: US triumph for the ages was ruined by a culture war hissing match over cash betel and Donald Trump and an unfunny joke about the women's gold medal team.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the best, most exciting, most impactful football game of the year so far was Ohio State Texas.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: I was lucky enough to be at that too.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: Classic thriller, and that is taken a similar turn for the worst in the aftermath here, I'm afraid.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: So obviously, Texas roars back from three touchdowns down.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_02]: wins a huge game, vaults to number one.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: Within 36 hours, the two storyline from the game are a racist monster running for the Texas Railroad Commission who sees a picture of brown people cheering for the long horns and thinks that the world is coming to an end.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: And then A.I.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: Slop video showing a fake Steve Steve Starkese in slapping a fake holly row and a real arch meaning, making a stupid comment about it and everybody laughing along, like the men's hockey team did with Trump.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: And here we are sucking the fun out of everything again.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know, like quick thoughts on, especially let's start with the railroad commission guy.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say this.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: This is my third year as a professor of practice at the University of Tennessee.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: And on my list of favorite things about this experience as a teacher there, and I'm not even sure there's a number two, but number one is walking that campus or being in the
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Getting to know the names and the faces and the back stories of each of these students and what's great about it is
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: that the faces aren't the same.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: And the back stories are completely different.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: And the back rounds are completely different.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: And you meet students who are first generation college students and their family from small towns and Tennessee.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: You meet students that are from California to Connecticut.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: You meet students that are from China, Africa, Australia, South America, all parts of Europe.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: And when I see those,
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: just absolutely just heartening comments about the makeup of just kids at a ball game having a great time at the University of Texas.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to screen because those different
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: enrich of the university experience.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm a better teacher because I've met them and learned their stories.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not it's not in spite of them it's because of them and so I just want people to understand that that that cross section that the universities are a crock pie and we put all sorts of ingredients in it and we just let it cook and it always turns out great at least it's been my experience that so to me it it strengthens the university experience it doesn't diminish it.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for that, and that is coming that is a voice of experience on campuses who gets to see a diverse student body.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's part and parcel of what American universities have been, should be, and hopefully will be, but we'll see, it depends who's in charge of various aspects of things like admissions policies.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: And one of the things I've learned in the aftermath of this
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: like Texas, if you're in the top 5% of a Texas school public school, you get into the University of Texas, which is a good university.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: So a good university.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of those faces that this person was seeing are meritocracy admissions of Texas high school students.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: United States citizens in Texas high school students, but because they look a certain way,
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: Let's take a picture and manipulate and try to turn it into a threat.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: And to your point, diversity on campus isn't a threat.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's an education.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: In my opinion, it is an ability to learn from other people and other walks of life that come from completely different backgrounds and maybe look at things a different way and can help sell all the rest of us see things in a different way.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, not supposed to be pleasant, Bill.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's not.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: that it's different.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's how you learn.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_02]: So I like that was that was a Pauling that the in in comparison, I think the Sarquizian Holly Roach Manning thing is is.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_02]: far less troublesome.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's there.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: Look, it wasn't handled well.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's for sure.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't really like any aspect of it other than archmaning, apologizing and Holly Row accepting the apologizing, apology both of them in graceful fashion.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: For those of you who didn't see it who don't know.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: uh... there was you know at the end of the game holly was trying to get sarg for the post game stand up interview on the field there had been a kerfuffle or not a confid their been a snap afoo with the half time interview between sarg and lower a rut legends lower a ruttlage apologized because they left sarg waiting and coaches hate to be left waiting at that point when they wanted to get the locker room especially when they're trailing twenty to three
- 7:27[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so perhaps that set the stage for this, but, uh, very awkward interaction, Holly tried to ask him a question.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_02]: Sark just kind of barked, hook him, go Texas fight or whatever, and then walked off.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: Um, anyway, there was an AI video showing a, Sark region slapping Holly was, it was again, it was all manufactured.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: Arch brought it up.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: He was asked what he had seen video wise after the game that, you know, maybe caught his eye and he said, that was hilarious.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: Very bad look.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: Not a good look.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then he, I think realized that he apologized.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_02]: He spoke to Holly.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: She accepted the apology.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: Was this bungled badly?
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: What were your thoughts?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, let me say that, Gene, you have been
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: You have been on the field in those post-game interviews settings.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: I have two, but you've got more experience at the night do.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: It kind of explain how those things work and then tell us where this thing maybe went wrong.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll preface it by saying I have very limited experiences of sideline reporter.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: It was mostly in basketball, but I have interviewed coaches in those settings.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: I have interviewed players after majors, victories, and golf.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: I've done live to tapes with coaches before ball games.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I have a little bit of experience, nothing
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: From a general point of view, this was an unusual set of circumstances.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: absolve certification for the most part in this, this had a national championship sort of quality to it.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: Normally, you might, you would have one sideline reporter for a game.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: They had to, ESPN had to, which is great.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: The more the better, but when you have to, it's a little bit of a different dynamic.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Secondly, there was a lot of emotion, a lot of, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a,
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe just a little longer than a certification thought it would it would be and he's waiting and he's waiting with Laura and he just at some point there comes a he has to go and so he left.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: And was it a bad look, yeah, but I, I feel as if he probably had waited the requisite amount of time.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: And the way that Laura handled that situation seemed to indicate that there was no wrong dueling bar circuasion in that.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: So now fast forward to the end of the game.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: And generally, with about four minutes to go.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the assignments are made.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: So in this case, Laura, you're going to get a player.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: Holly, you're going to get the head coach of the winning team.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so Holly got certification as it turned out.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: Laura was going to try to get arch-maning.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: So now, gay men's Holly and her team, which was a producer, camera person, sound person.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure maybe an additional crew member, they go out, they try to get certification immediately.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think they were in position.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: Again, just my best educated guess.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: They were in position right after that game and it took.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: just a little too long for the production truck to send it down to Holly on the field.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I think by that point, Syracusean still had the memory of that halftime show in his head, what happened there with the halftime interview or the non-interview, they're getting ready to play the eyes of Texas, which as you know Pat is a huge deal to a coach and as players after a win there he wanted to go.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: and he was gone.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: And so it was just a confluence of unusual circumstances, fans storming the field, a heightened emotion and tension, as I think, and I really don't think it was anybody's fault.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, and they, the,
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: The thing that I'm glad you explain some of how this stuff works, right, that the dynamics of these things are not easy.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: They probably should be they're not always easy.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: It sure helps when you're the rights holder everybody goes out, you know, bends over backwards to make it work for you.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: For some reason, this, this didn't work out very well on either occasion half time or post game.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I I was a a sideline reporter one time.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: I've done it post game stuff like that where with the great Jonathan Wiley from the SPN needs set you up and you talk to the star of the game and get something.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: But one time I was an actual in game sideline reporter for an Illinois Indiana basketball game in like 2008 because Aaron Andrews got sick.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: and couldn't make it and they ask me to fill in and let me tell you've never seen a more disappointed student body than the Illinois student body when not Aaron Andrews but Pat 40 shows up to work the sideline.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, but anyway this was this was my education on on hey this is a little bit harder than it looks.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's my television man, it's my TV thing that I'm interviewing Kelvin Samson after a double overtime victory.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's the coach at Indiana.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's unbelievable game.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: I can't hear crap.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: The band is playing, I start the interview before they're ready for me to go.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: And on his board Adams is the the drug producer and the try to yell and stop no no wait wait and so I tells Kelvin mid sentence I go stop stop he's looking at me like what I said okay now we've got to start again and we do it again and we get done and Kelvin if he's just won the game so he's in a good moment he looks at me because if you ever done this before and I said no I go no that was pretty funny and why so
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: So I have an appreciation.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's not an easy job.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: You get two questions.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: Heat of the moment with somebody that may or may not want to talk to you, you know, stuff can happen.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I respect a lot of people.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: We don't need side reporters.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: And there are times you watch the reports.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: And you're like, but there are times you really want them there.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: Right, when there's an injury, when there's a controversy, those sorts of things, so I have empathy and I have great respect for Holly Rose, just damn good at her job.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Holly and Laura are, yes, best of the best, you know?
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's a lot of really, really great silent reports out there, and they're in that upper echelon, of course.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, that's fine.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that happens.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's like television, it happens, but what happened afterward?
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: It is on Monday is the really just reprehensible disappointing part of this equation.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: And that's again, that's where, again, social media playing a large role and just sucking the fun out of some out of a great sporting moment.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, it's not going away, but I sometimes I kind of wish it would not to not to be the old man yelling at clouds here.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: Well, to to Archmany's credit.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, first of all, he's a college kid.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: Did you think it was funny?
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: that Steve Sarkesian in an AI video was hitting Holly Row of course not.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: Did he think the idea of his coach reacting in a way like that somehow was hilarious apparently so.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: The two his credit.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: He apologized publicly.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: He reached out to Holly who obviously took the high road in all this, said I accept the apology, we're going to keep the conversation private, and we're all going to just move forward.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: So lessons learned by all, and there was also a reporter who had originally posted part of this, and he would ask the question, and to his credit.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he explained in the apologize.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: for his part in any of this.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: So our old buddy Rick Majeras, former Utah coach, used to tell me all the time, the world turns every 24 hours.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: And it was his way of saying mistakes are made, we learn, we move on.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: This is a perfect example of that.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_02]: It is, you know, but I keep moving.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm afraid Jai, I tweeted something the effect that Holly Road took the high road as she always does.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: And my gosh, the responses to that, there's a lot of people that have no interest in the high road.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: Let me just say that.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's move on to the game of the week, the drama of the year, Lane at Ole Miss,
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: uh... if you thought it was bad back when he went to kneeling stadium and had a mustard bottle and a golf ball thrown at him wait till this one starts to bubble and it's already bubbling week we've got our our first uh... in week shenanigans here well first of all we got that we have the governor of Louisiana saying maybe joking maybe not that they need to fly laying in on a f-16 and put the team on a c-130 and have the national guard on standby
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the the latest thing was Tuesday at the facility, the LSU facility, I'm calling it up here.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: Papers, court papers were served to stand out LSU defensive and former Ole Miss defensive and Prince Will,
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: at Ole Miss, and now plays for Kiffin at LSU.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: Ole Miss is suing to get back NIL contract money from him and another Ole Miss player who transferred.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: And you think, oh, the timing's pretty cute about this, and I'm sure there is some of that, although there's something I read where there was a 30 day notice given like,
- 18:15[SPEAKER_02]: August 14th, which ran out September 14th, so September 15th would have been the the first day to serve him and apparently he was anyway discovery papers but still I don't know whether it's a genius move or a terrible move to serve the nation's sack leader with court papers the week you play against him because further motivation and or fury might not work in your favor.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, this, like I'll be at the game, this is going to be a wild scene.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: We've both been to a lot of very charged college sports environments in our careers.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_02]: What's the most heated you've seen and will it compare to this?
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, I can't think of anything that's going to compare to this.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe we'll be surprised.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe everyone will be civil, but I'm not counting on it.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Pat, my first thought when I read that story about the papers being served, and this is how crazy this is.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: This always is like, wouldn't be hilarious if Kiffin was the guy who told them where to find him to serve the papers.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like, wouldn't that be, I mean, of course he didn't do that.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: But, um, no, I think back maybe some of the Florida State Miami, Florida State Florida games.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, had this kind of intensity.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: But nothing like this.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm sure you've run into something, but I just couldn't think of anything that would be close to this.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe when Phil Fomer went back to Bama in 2005, that's after became public that he had been a witness for the NCAA basically testifying against Bama.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: uh... maybe that was uh... uncomfortable for him but nothing like this what do you got
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's funny.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think Spurrier probably brought on some of that Florida Florida State stuff.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: And then I was at a Florida State Miami game one time where the fans were so antagonistic to each other before the game I thought, man, there's gonna be 20 fights in there.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know whether there was or not, but the one that seems similar to this to me because it is directed at one person for reasons of spurning us to go to them.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_02]: is when Rick Patino went back to Rapparina as the Louisville coach in Tudalouse and won the difference there being there was a four year laundering of emotion that sick didn't work but but he went to the NBA for four years with the Celtics after taking Kentucky to the national championship game after winning the championship in 96 championship game 97 then going to the NBA and then coming back and taking the job at their most hated rival.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I distinctly remember in March when I knew Patina was getting the job and being with Kentucky in the NCAA tournament.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: And Kentucky people like it was happening that day and the Kentucky people still couldn't believe it.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: He wouldn't.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: He wouldn't do that.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: So he's doing it.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: He's doing it and they were like, well.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: wait till he comes to up and I was there when he came to up and it was vicious.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, 24,000 people hating one person as much as humanly possible.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_02]: This is going to be 60 plus 1,000 hating one person as much as humanly possible and it's much more fresh.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: So I think this will be worse.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: I hope, you know, it's going to be bad.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: I just hope it's not violently bad.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see about that.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this is going to be unlike anything I think we've seen.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: Kiffin, rather preciously this week said, because of course he has to say something, you know, that that further damages his credibility, I guess you would say, to say, told his team, the pressure is on them, meaning Ole Miss.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: We won seven games last year.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_02]: They won 13.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: They return to Heismy candidates.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: You guys get to go play.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: The pressure is not on you.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: This is also another way to a grandize his own record at Ole Miss, but whatever.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think about Kiffin trying the reverse psychology there?
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, you gotta give him credit.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, for trying.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: Who's favored in the game?
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let's see who.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so, I mean, please.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: But, I mean, if nothing else, he's inventive,
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: And he's doing his best and you know, we've heard this sort of thing before, but you know, I was amused.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to remember which player it was for for Ole Miss who said, this is just another week.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's not another week when a player gets served papers at LSU who just happened to play for Ole Miss.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's not another week when the governor of Louisiana is pleading with the Ole Miss people to show, quote, Southern hospitality.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: Good luck with that.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not another week when whenever
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be off the charts.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: I just hope it's off the charts entertaining and nothing stupid or tragic happens.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it's SEC football.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: So you're going to take it.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_02]: take it past 10 to 11 and see and hope that total mayhem doesn't work out.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, the other part of the dynamic, which I think most people have figured out by now, but I mean, Ole Miss and LSU traditionally historically have hated each other.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's become a little less of a 50, 50 kind of rivalry, because you see in the last
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: half century or even a little bit more because LSU has kind of just taken their trajectory up to a level and an Ole Mississ hit spots but not been consistently as good, but it goes back the 50s I did a little bit of looking and research between like.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_02]: 1950, 8 and 62 or something like that.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: Ole Miss was 48, 5 and 1 and three of the losses in the tie were all against LSU, like they were breaking their heart when they had their best teams.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: And since then, LSU is winning championships and Ole Miss never even went to the SEC championship game.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: They were the only team in the SEC West.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_02]: that didn't go.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_02]: So there's that dynamic as well.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's leaving us for a neighboring rival that used to be one of our most bitter rivals and has gotten better than us.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: So, you're slipping, 40.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah?
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because that was a perfect opportunity when you mentioned 1958, 62, just to slide in your usual snarky thing about, you covered that game in 58, what do you remember about it?
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: You knocked it out on your typewriter, didn't you guarantee it?
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, Western Union.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you were wiring in the story.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_02]: I want more element to this to the lane bitter bull.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously the timing of this was disastrous.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: It was before the college football playoff, which was one of the main reasons that I think, despite this nobody had ever left the team that's still at a chance of winning a national championship to go to another team.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: That has sparked a part of the the protect college sports act.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: You thought we might get through this whole podcast without talking about that.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: We'll keep it brief, but
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: uh... that it's it's whining its way through the senate it looks like it might get through the senate now um... early boats there's like three rounds of voting that have to happen i don't fully understand all of this follow-rass delinger he'll figure it out for you but seventy four i believe or seventy six votes four and they only needed sixty so
- 26:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's moving along in many ways.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: There's language in there that would prevent in-season job changes for coaches in the future.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: You could, they're even calling it the Lane Kiffen rule.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: Is this a good rule of bad rule?
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: Is it possibly enforceable?
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's heart is in the right place.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: But Kiffin, as absurd as it was, Kiffin did want to coach that team, correct it?
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: I spear, yeah.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: So, but to me, the alternative makes no sense.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we've been through enough of these coaches, searches, and changes.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say you can't change jobs in the middle.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say you can't leave in the middle of the season
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: do we really think a team is better off with a lame duck coach because it's never going to stay a secret.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: If a coach is going to get fired or leave for another job, it always comes out.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: Is that a great situation?
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: And is this rule saying that a school can't fire a coach then during the season?
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: And replace them with another coach, I mean, I don't know all the details of it, but if that's the case, if you simply can't get rid of a coach or if a coach can't leave under any circumstance during the season, well, we know something's going to happen that this going to render that move and so I enforceable, I have no idea good idea.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: yet in a way, but is it going to work?
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, I have serious doubts.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's ever going to work mostly because there's no way you can keep coaching changes secret.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you can't keep them secret.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: And if even if there's an agreement behind the scenes, where's the coach's focus?
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I can't count the number of teams I have seen absolutely dog up the last couple of weeks of a season when the coach is leaving.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that plays a great part in it.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's funny, it's actually a John Summerall who went from to Lane to Florida, but insisted on coaching the team, absolutely hard in his right place, I think it was the right thing to do, but he said, if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: He said, I just didn't even go because he said, I really believe I owed it to Tulane, but it was impossible basically to do.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: And they're looking for staff, you're looking at, you know, the hired affiliate staff,
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: There might be available to you.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: There's just no way you can do both.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the biggest, the only way you could possibly address this would be to move the calendar so that.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: The portal is in the spring as opposed to in January and signing day is back in February and not in December, or even put the signing day in March or April or whatever, and you just you will alleviate the pressure to get things done in January, but it's too much sense, Pat.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it does it does and even then, um, the play and the same thing players are like, well,
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: If I know in December, I'm leaving.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: I have to sit around until Martin made to actually do it.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, so it's a difficult situation.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: Then nothing bothers me more really than watching seasons just fall apart because of coaching changes.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's a tough one to fix.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Gene, other SEC outrage.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: We got to get to this before we get to the trust meter before we get to the picks.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is great.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: SEC outrage is the best.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: When fans, when fans lose it and call the local radio show, this is tremendous.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: Miss Lisa, Arkansas fan who called into the Chuck and Bow Show on ESPN Arkansas, producer can't please play this video and audio for us.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but they were in trouble.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: And if we do, I'd rather have a heart attack of disbelief.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: We are terrible.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: I, and Ted, listen, I like K.J.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: Jackson.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's a sweet kid, but I'm going to quote somebody I heard.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_00]: He couldn't make it on Facebook or high school's list of top quarterbacks.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: There you have it.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: Miss Lisa, she said at one point, she's 67 years old and 62 of them have been as a razor back fan.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: And this was after they got just bludgeoned by Utah.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, we don't want her to die of disbelief.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I personally think she's safe.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, they got Georgia this week.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: They ain't winning that one.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I've looked at the schedule.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think she's right.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Arkansas is going to win another game.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: Tulsa's the last non league game.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_02]: And if you've seen Tulsa, pretty good.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Geno, do you have any advice from Islisa on coping with the rest of this season?
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, one of the many reasons I love the SEC or football on the South is it's Miss Lisa.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not Lisa.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: Lisa's calling in from wherever.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's Miss Lisa.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: I just love that about the South.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_01]: Well, look, I would tell Miss Lisa, it could have been worse.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: You could have been an Oregon or Ohio State fan.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: I would counselor her to maybe just put that week one win.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: What was it, North Alabama?
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: Is that a course?
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Just put that on a loop, maybe, or just stay in state and turn to your friends and Jonesboro, Arkansas,
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: of Arkansas State.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Arkansas State is going to have a tough time against TCU in their next games.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: So that could be a little rough.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think that they're going to win some games down the road where to your point.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be tough for the razorbacks to do the same.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: She said she's from North East Arkansas, which is near Joe's bro.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: You
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: Things are lining up for my advice for her is to become a fan of the indoor track and field team and the outdoor because Arkansas is like a juggernaut in that.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_02]: And me as a as a constant supporter of the Olympic sports, uh, you are razor back track and field team save miss Lisa from her misery.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: All right, trust me at a time.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_02]: We did this last week.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: Seemed like it worked.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_02]: We're suckers for a reliable gimmick.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: So let's go.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna give Gina series of either or questions.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: And he will tell me which he trusts more than I'll tell him when he's wrong.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, ready?
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yes.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: which holds up longer on Saturday fan decorum in Oxford or Florida State in Bryant, Denny Stadium.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: What time is the the Bama FSU game?
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's an afternooner.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what time is the Ole Miss Ellis U game?
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's at night.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: Where is it?
- 34:09[SPEAKER_02]: That is in Oxford.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: large amounts of alcohol.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes, the dope beverages.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: Just do the math as far as a kick time.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: So LSU Ole Miss gets the extra four hours of a pregame festivities will put it that way.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, decorum is is going to get boat raced in Oxford.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll go with FSU Bama.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, in terms of, in terms of actual game time, there's no way decorum lasts longer than Florida State.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_02]: But in terms of clock time, chronology of you were going there.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Florida State kicks off at 330.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: They could be down two touchdowns by four.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, before that, like LSU might not even be in the stadium yet.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: So depends which way to turn up.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: Look at it.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_02]: They're both in trouble.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_02]: Let's put that.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: All right, which do you trust more the chances of Mike Norval or speaking of Florida State getting past midseason or Greg Cheyano getting past midseason at Rutgers?
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this is a tough one.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: This was yours, right?
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: This is a good one.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: We just saw the athletic director, Florida State, get fired.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: So if that guy had Nervelle's back, Nervelle has some issues.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: Nervelle has the huge buyout.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: What is it?
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: Something in the 40s?
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: 45.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: 9 million, I believe, after this season.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and Chihano has 18 something like that, I believe.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's no small amount of change.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: Both of those programs have huge the athletic departments have huge debt issues.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: So they're both going to leave major bruise marks on the financials of those programs.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: But given what Norvelle is facing here in their coming games, beginning with Bama,
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: Louisville Miami, I might have the order wrong, but coming up in this stretch, I just think Norvel's sadly the more likely candidate not to make it through the half season.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think so too simply like Chano has built up at least some reservoir of goodwill there with two goods, two stances to coach like this second stint he at least got him back to being respectable, but now they have back slid badly.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it lost the opener to UMass and then they've lost to lost to BC this week.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: They got USC, USC team coming into the looks really good.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to make all this go away, somehow beat USC or at least stay competitive, but you got Indiana later on, you got Michigan later on, you got Penn State.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: There's going to be a lot of losses there.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: 18 million and Rutgers dollars is a lot of money.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: $45 million for the state dollars is a lot of money too.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: But I think Norville's probably in bigger trouble of getting an in season this missile.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like this.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's also a fan site.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: I read this last night, Florida State fans, basically kind of like a go-fun me to put money toward the buy-out for Norvel.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, that's just not a good thing.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, at some point, there's a tipping point.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I just think it's almost impossible for Norvel to recover from this, but maybe he will, maybe they'd be Bama again.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's like they somehow did, was the last year in cash.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Ohio State, no concern or tangible concern, which, which you feel in there, tangible concern.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Ryan Day made it pretty clear now.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: It might just be coach, coach, speak after loss.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: But he made it pretty clear, I think his direct quote was, we were built to win these games and it's really disappointing that we did what we did in the fourth quarter, which was give up the leading, give up what 21 straight points, right?
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: And lose that game.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, there's going to be some hard decisions made around here.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't sound like a guy who's unconcerned.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: So if Ryan Day's concerned, I'm concerned.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I have to think so, and I, I like one, there's several things that I like about Ryan day, but one of them is the fact that
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: When Ohio State loses, he acts like the fans act as far as like, this is terrible.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_02]: We are never supposed to lose, you know, the Ohio State fans, there is no acceptable loss.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_02]: And he kind of projects that as well.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't give you the, this is fine.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: Everything's fine, we're good, you know?
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: He gives you the, oh my God, that was really bad.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: So, and yes, losing a three touchdown lead, the offense just breaking down, defense really didn't.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: I went back and looked at the stats.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_02]: It was impressive.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they gave up no plays of long, they gave up one play London 20 yards.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_02]: And other than that, they made Texas earn it.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_02]: And Texas just did play after play after play, average five yards for play over 40 plays on their three touchdown drives.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: No major breakdowns, no turnovers, no special teams to Bockels, they did miss a field goal, but like I still think Ohio State's defense is darn good.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think the offense, they got some things to figure out.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: And if I were Arthur Smith, I'd be watching and saying, all right, when is Ryan day taking over play calling from me, that would be.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_02]: That would be what I would be watching out for.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: I did, I did not see a lot of defensive line pressure.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: So you should late in that game now.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to go back and look at the numbers in the fourth quarter.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: What Ohio State was defensively against Texas on third down.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I third down plays and even
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, there are some issues, but you're right, Pat.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: There is no in-between in Columbus.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: You see, they're the sky as falling or, you know, rose petals are coming down from the heavens.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_02]: Right now, sky falling.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_02]: All right, most likely to recover Oregon or Oklahoma.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: How do you trust more cheese?
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: Do I have to pick one?
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: You do.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm not sure.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: Right, so Oregon, let's see here.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: They play Portland State.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: We assume they're going to be Portland State at home 100 to nothing.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: But then they're at USC.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: And then home against UCLA.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to answer a lot of questions.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: Oklahoma is home against New Mexico.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Which, you know, has a great coach and could be, you know, a sneaky challenge, then they're at Georgia and then they play Texas in Dallas.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I think we get those answers here in the next few weeks or so, if I have to pick one.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go with Oregon because I think I trust Dante Moore a little more than I do mature.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: I love both of them don't get me wrong, but I just think I trust Oregon's ability to get up off the floor.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm with you there.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I think, Oregon, they have two rookie coordinators who I think will get better at their jobs.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's been a big thing.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: And the talent level is there.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: Oklahoma, like we, they were a known commodity coming into this season and the commodity just hasn't been very good.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: I have grave concerns about their offense.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_02]: John Matier,
- 42:04[SPEAKER_02]: plays hard and does some good things but he's kind of a single-wing quarterback at this point.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't see the passing ability and you said they're playing Georgia in Texas probably the two best teams in the SEC coming weeks that that's that you got to get better in a hurry for those games.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: All right, better bully of bad teams so far.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_02]: Georgia or Indiana, they both played nobody and they have just beaten the daylights out of nobody.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this one's easy.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: UGA has outscored opponents, 107 to 16.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: IU has outscored teams, 133 to 23.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: What does it mean?
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea, but I know how this is going to go.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to go ahead and take Georgia.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: And you'll take your beloved Hoosiers and we'll move on to the next topic.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_02]: You're right.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm taking the Hoosiers.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_02]: How did you know?
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: I told you.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: Here's my great who's your stat for you today, they produce an endless supply of great stats.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: They have attempted 32 passes this season.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: Ten of them have been touchdowns.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's purpose.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's great.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: Unbelievable.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: Josh Hoover has attempted 27 and thrown eight touchdowns back up Grant Wilson's attempted two passes and thrown two TDs Charlie Becker.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, with there are a lot of great receivers in the country, do not leave Charlie Becker out of the conversation.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a good question on the year five touchdowns.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's just, he is uncoverable in the red zone.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't want to play you to one of them.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, I would not want to play you to one of them.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: Especially, it does look like George has got some more offensive swerve than they had in previous years.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: All right, we have been touting CJ Car for the Heisman here.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_02]: Are you still trusting CJ car for the Heisman or do you like arch for the Heisman?
- 43:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, nothing has changed for me.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still on on a seed CJ car train, but if you told me, I'm going to get fourth quarter against Ohio State version of archmaning.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then the calculus is going to change and it's going to change pretty fast.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: He from much of that game.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: I just felt as if
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: You could, you could feel his brain trying to think.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was like, he was working so hard to think and think and then in that fourth quarter, he just played.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: And that version was fabulous to watch.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: But right now until I see more of that, I'm still sticking with car.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, I agree, I mean, Arch was phenomenal when the chips were down he had to be, but he was not good in the first two and a half quarters.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he did, in fairness to him, he had a couple, went ball bounce off of the chest of one.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, two drop passes basically.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, 40 yard pass to Cam Coleman, that really, actually if Archie put it directly on the money, that's a walk in 60 yard touchdown, but still it should have been caught, and then Ryan Wingo just flat dropping one in the end.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, his numbers could have looked different for sure.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: All right, this one gets to the heart of the coach versus fan base feuds that tend to linger after somebody leaves a job to an over junior tech or to an open state.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: I will say Penn State, but if the fighting Franklin's can win at Maryland, I think that games at Maryland, right?
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_01]: Then I'm moving for junior tech ahead.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: for the moment.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: That would be, that would be a really good win.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_02]: It would be a big win.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_02]: James Franklin usually gets us back up a little bit playing Maryland where he was an assistant coach to Ralph Friedgen.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think he'll have his team ready.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_02]: For now, yes, I'm cool with Penn State, but keep an eye on that one and I guarantee all Penn State fans will be keeping an eye on that one as
- 46:13[SPEAKER_02]: very much to win the divorce here with James Franklin and James Franklin wants very much to win the divorce from his old school.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_02]: Best shiny new coach Oklahoma State's Eric Morris who's coming off a shocking upset of Oregon or UCLA's Bob Chesney who has the
- 46:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's, I mean, they're both fun.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they both, they're both different smakers.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: And Chesney is, is brief life into that UCLA program, but how can you not go with Morris on this?
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I saw this quote after the game, they just, they just be Oregon and he says, I don't know if I can top this.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to retire, but I might think about it tonight.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's just a great quote.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, I toast both of those guys, but just on the strength of that quote after the game, I'll go with Morris for the moment.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: It is a great quote and I'm going to sidetrack us here for a second, but this reminds me, I covered back back in the days when you would have a 14 tournament to start a basketball season.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_02]: There was in Rapaera, Kentucky was hosting this and the first game was Marshall against somebody and Marshall's like down 20 at half time and comes back to win the first game with new staff.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm in the back hallways in Rapparina and the coach hit like three of the assistant coaches were sitting there and they're like, what should we do?
- 47:51[SPEAKER_02]: Um, you know, and then one of them coaches goes, go home.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: And the guy starts laughing goes, no, like, we should just quit.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's never going to be this good ever again.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_02]: We just came back from 20 down to win our opener and rough.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just retire.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's great.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_01]: We're Eric Morris is coming from.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: But I also know this Eric Morris lost his opener to Tulsa man.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm rolling with Chesney.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: I am very impressed by the start there.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_02]: They've been turnover-reliant, but I don't look at that as flookie.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_02]: I look at that as probably coaching an opportunism and being when the chips are down the fourth quarter, they punch some teams in the mouth.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I give them credit.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_02]: week, which week one Cinderella are you buying after week two, Tulsa, who I mentioned or Western Michigan, which is either one in one or two and now depending which side of a clock situation you want to land on, which one do you like at this point?
- 48:48[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to take both again, but I'm going to go with the team that beat the team that beat Oregon.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll go with Tulsa.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, hard not to at this point.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_02]: If Western Michigan beats Boise when Boise comes in there, I think it's in two weeks, then we're really talking.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_02]: All right, last of the truth, meters, after what we witnessed Saturday, which did you trust more one more?
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: A meaningful regular season or a 2014 playoff.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I made Pat 40 money and I could afford to buy like a commercial TV ad.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_01]: and just replay some of the moments from this past weekend.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_01]: And just another reminder of why the regular season and college football is sacred and how we shouldn't screw around with it by expanding the playoff.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_01]: And did you, did you happen to notice that Greg Sanke when interviewed earlier this week, I believe,
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: left a little bit of a door open for the possibility of maybe we won't have a 2014 playoff.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't rule out a 16 team playoff, but he didn't necessarily say that the 2014 playoff was was a done deal.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm holding out hope, because I totally agree with you.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the thing.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_02]: The scene in Austin, the scene is still water.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_02]: They're turned down the gold post and taken them out there.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_02]: The scene in the big house is Michigan gets up off the deck.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know, all the losing teams in all those situations in a 2014 scenario, can all walk out, go, yeah, no big deal.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_02]: We're fine.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_02]: And they may still be fine in a 12 team, but they just cut their margin for error down very small and 24 teams, you double the size of the playoff, you absolutely cheap in the impact of these huge games.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: So, all right, winners and state dinners time to make some picks.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: I should note I was five and one last week.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_02]: But probably the thing that stood out was me mocking Gene for laying 55 and a half points in the Miami floor to A&M game.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_02]: Can't, I think we've got some video audio from this as well.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have a lock of the week?
- 51:19[SPEAKER_01]: I do my friend.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_01]: My lock of the week, I'm actually giving 55 and a half points.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: And it actually might have gone up by the last time I'd looked Florida and M at hard rock against Miami, they just lost their starting quarterback for the rest of the season, does this sound like something that Miami could could be them by more than 55 and a half points.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so that's my lock at the week.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going with the teams.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, but I think you're crazy.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_02]: They're they're winning 56 to nothing and the fourth string is in and they're not even paying attention and some, you know, some kid runs a 30R 40R touchdown and you don't cover me here next Thursday and we'll discuss Here we are we're discussing good call 77 to 7
- 52:14[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, I'm watching that thing that utter debacle unfold, knowing what I had said.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm texting Jean during the game.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_02]: This is just it's not humanitarian.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you're taking some pleasure in this utter crushing of a four FCS school.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you had any room where anymore more so over that, did you?
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: I did not, I believe I sent you the screen grab.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then you sent me a screen grab of your,
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because I took Georgia lay in like 40 and a half against Western Kentucky and they won by like 50.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: So you, you had no issues, you know, giving up your big number, but for me,
- 53:00[SPEAKER_02]: Western Kentucky first of all is Western Kentucky is an FBS program.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: So I didn't feel like I was picking on a defense This program and secondly 55 and 40 is a pretty big difference.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: I got it.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll say about it.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, you know coach Corso all you should say When you lose say little
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: And when you win, say less.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to say less.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to congratulate you on your five and one week.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_01]: And wish you the very best moving forward.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we're going to find out who's going to have a better week right now.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_02]: Let's make some picks.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_02]: Friday night game, interesting, big 12 or Houston, getting seven and a half at Texas Tech.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_02]: Tech, not great against Oregon State last week.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, there's going to be panic on the streets because they gave up the 24 points.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_01]: I would remind everyone that Oregon State, that game was at Oregon State, Oregon State, a played well.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they had a motion spirit.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: They also have a wide receiver that you know, you're going to know about the degree by the end of it.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you should know about them right now.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's going to create problems for everyone.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: I am not panicking.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going the opposite side of that one.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm taking Houston.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'll I might be being lured in by the hook, but but I like it.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_02]: I feel it.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_02]: And coers are good.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_02]: I really do.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_02]: I've kind of been on their bandwagon.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm I'm taking them in this one getting that seven and a half.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: The centerpiece game of the weekend.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_02]: We've discussed it a bit here.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously,
- 54:56[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I don't know who leaked the locker room talk of Kevin, but if you thought that when was spicy, can you imagine what's going to go on in that locker room this time?
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: I was ready to take Ole Miss until I saw the news about these papers being served.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_01]: at LSU.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, yeah, I'm done.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm that that's just too good of material for Kiffin to use.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take LSU and I'll give the three points.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder how this the news of the papers being served was leaked to ESPN.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_02]: Lane might have wanted that out there too.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_02]: Anything is possible.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_02]: Anything is possible.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm taking LSU as well.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_02]: I really like everything they've put on the field.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_02]: I know they weren't very good against Louisiana Tech.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that matters at all.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I saw the Ole Miss defense in person.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I think they're going to be a bit susceptible here unless they tighten some things up.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_02]: So L.S.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_01]: We have it has to tighten some things up too, right?
- 55:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we have it last week.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_02]: All right, ACC game, big game ranked two ranked teams, top 25 teams, SMU at Louisville.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_02]: SMU getting one and a half,
- 56:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think this one will go a long way to deciding who is the second best team in the league and possibly playing against Miami in the ACC Championship game.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's early, but I think these two are right up there.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_01]: Of all the games that you picked, it's a great list.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_01]: This was the one I had the lowest amount of confidence in.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to take your hometown, Louisville Cardinals.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't feel particularly great about it, but Keen Holtz has made me a believer.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_01]: Brahms always made me a believer in the games at home, so I'll take the cardinals.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm taking the cardinals as well.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_02]: I think SMU was so sloppy against Florida State and maybe they clean that up here, but they just, they tried so hard to give that game away and if you got a team that has that sort of proclivity, that's trouble going on the road here against a better opponent in Louisville.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_02]: Lincoln King holds, keep an eye on him and the receivers, holy moly.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_02]: They got some skill players in Louisville.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_02]: All right, SEC game, two first-year coaches trying to get their programs up off the mat.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_02]: I this one really interests me.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_02]: Florida, getting two and a half at Auburn.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_02]: On the plains, John Sumerall against Alex Golech, where do you land?
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like a complete pickup game.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna take the complimentary two and a half points, take the gators.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not sure it'll be that close.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take the gators and this one I feel pretty decent about it.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, both again, both teams haven't really played anybody.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Auburn played Baylor, give him credit, yeah.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_02]: But...
- 58:07[SPEAKER_02]: uh... i i like what the gators have put on the field through two games some fascinating consistency statistically for them air and phyllo quarterback first game sixteen out of twenty one for two seventy five second game sixteen out of twenty one for two forty two jane ball leading russia first game
- 58:32[SPEAKER_02]: 14 carries 160 yards, second game, 14 carries 136 yards.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think John Summerall has figured out how he wants to do this this season.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to need more from both of those guys in this game than they did the first two, but I like the way they're putting things together there.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_02]: All right, that's yeah, this game shouldn't be close for the spread makes it interesting and we need to get one big 10 team mentioned in here big 10 schedules horrible this weekend Michigan state getting 20 nine and a half at Notre Dame.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Patrick Cheryl said in his presser earlier this week that he wishes this was a rivalry that was played every year as it used to be.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is the first time they played since 2017.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_01]: Is that correct?
- 59:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, it is a great rivalry and it's too bad.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_01]: And Notre Dame's probably thinking be careful what you wish for my friend.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_01]: But 29 and a half seems excessive to me.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Michigan state is going to treat this like, you know, kind of a bold game in a way, because it's, you know, they're rebuilding there.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_01]: This is their chance to make some kind of statement.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_01]: Will they win?
- 59:53[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't think so.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: Will they keep it within the 29 and a half?
- 59:58[SPEAKER_01]: I do think they'll do that.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm old enough to remember when Pat Fitzgerald was in uniform in 1995.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_02]: And...
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_02]: Northwestern beat Notre Dame when he was the star line back of there and Gary Barnett was the coach and they went to the Rose Bull.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_02]: So I think he's got a little extra little something something for Notre Dame in his soul and I think they at least cover.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_02]: Notre Dame been very impressive so far but I think they can at least put up enough of a fight to
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_02]: to win the game.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_02]: All right, do you have a lock of the week?
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_01]: I do.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_01]: I do, sir.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_01]: Well, first, I looked up Steve Sarkeshin's favorite program, Jones Jr. High.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I couldn't find who they were playing this week.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_01]: I thought about taking South Carolina against Mississippi State.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_01]: I changed my mind at the last second.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going with Texas A&M.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_01]: Um, given the, let's see what is it now 16 and a half that home against Kentucky.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_01]: I've just got a feeling the Bama beat them up pretty good, especially in the second half.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_01]: BAM is a better team than A&M, I think right now, but A&M at home, still a pretty good team, has some issues that are figuring it out, but I like them to cover that point spread.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, yeah, I mean, I'm impressed by A&M so far.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see where that one comes out.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to the ACC and believe it or not, I'm writing the Bella check bandwagon.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_01]: I thought you might.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're getting North Carolina getting three and a half at Clemson and I don't think Clemson's very good.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_02]: Certainly nothing.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_02]: Clemson has done so far indicates Clemson is very good.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see if North Carolina can go into a true hostile environment and execute.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_02]: They were good in Ireland than they had to walk over against East Tennessee.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trusting the hoodie, especially defensively to make things hard for Clemson.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_01]: So well, it's not a bad, you know, I thought about that because they're coming off a shutout, right?
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_01]: In East Tennessee.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_01]: And then a bell check against a
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_01]: a freshman quarterback.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for Clemson, that's going to be interesting.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_02]: Seven straight scoreless or seven straight quarters without giving up a touchdown for North Carolina.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's a good one.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which means you'll lose probably probably.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_02]: So, but for the record right now, my picks are slightly better than your picks.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_02]: Neither of us are good.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm seven and eight.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_02]: Gina's six and nine.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_02]: We're really hoping somebody gets over 500 this next week for credibility.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you were five and one, so that was good.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, we're coming back.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_02]: All right, point after real quick, got to get this story in.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_02]: I know we're running a bit long, but this is college, this is college football, man.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_02]: Like, D3 level, I think the University of New England is playing Worcester Polytechnic.
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I taped that game.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Saturday, University of New England,
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_02]: has a five point lead with less than 10 seconds to play.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_02]: University of New England somehow lost.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_02]: So what they did, they outsmarted themselves tragically.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_02]: They took an intentional safety.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_02]: They were backed up.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_02]: didn't want to risk a punt disaster, took an intentional safety to make it 21 to 19 putting it within a field goals range.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_02]: They squib kick the kick.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_02]: They got to kick from their 20 right after a safety.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_02]: They squib it.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_02]: They do not squib it successfully.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_02]: It goes 13 yards.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if there was poorly kicked or whether it just rate hit somebody and they fell on it.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_02]: But they got six seconds left for Worcester Polytechnic.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_02]: They throw a pass and complete.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_02]: They bring on Nathan Napier, kicker for a 50-yarder at the gun and he makes it.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_02]: And Worcester Polytechnic comes out with a 22-21 victory over University of New England.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad Miss Lisa is not a fan of University in New England.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_02]: The calls there would be bad.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_02]: Would you fire the coach, Gene?
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_01]: No, man.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_01]: If you're coaching at that level, you're doing it for love of the game.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_01]: God bless some tough loss.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_01]: They'll bounce back.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_02]: They'll be back.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_02]: They'll be back.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure the message boards were on fire at the University of New England, but we're not giving up on them yet.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_02]: Congrats to Mr. Polytechnic on the win.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_02]: All right, that's enough of this show.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for listening.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_02]: Enjoy the games this weekend.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_02]: We will be back next week.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_02]: Talk to you later.
