- 2:16Speaker 4: Good morning, buddy, Good morning you and I just literally
- 2:19Speaker 4: ran into the studio this morning.
- 2:23Speaker 3: You look at you, buddy, the Grinch, Baby, I don't
- 2:29Speaker 3: see people can't see it because of my stupid microphone.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Yeah there, baby there, wow, right with my Grench shoes.
- 2:37Speaker 3: They gotta have it all.
- 2:39Speaker 4: I love that, say that, I absolutely love it. Have
- 2:43Speaker 4: you heard about the Grinch the New Trench? About the
- 2:47Speaker 4: green spaghetti? Grinch spaghetti? No, that's disgusting. I'll share it
- 2:52Speaker 4: with you you No, I'm I'm all good. No, No,
- 2:54Speaker 4: I'm gonna share it with you whether you whether you
- 2:56Speaker 4: want me to or not. It's coming. Okay, buddy, you
- 3:00Speaker 4: you look great, man. I love your sweater. Thank you
- 3:04Speaker 4: very what's the word I want to use?
- 3:07Speaker 2: Use it?
- 3:09Speaker 3: You definitely have that feminine side to you. Thank you? Yeah?
- 3:15Speaker 3: Almost almost gay? Dare I say? I'm sure somebody will say.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Not that.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Can what's bad about that word? Though? Nothing? It means happy,
- 3:27Speaker 3: it means joyful, it means.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Cheerful, Sherilyn tell My wife tells me I look gay
- 3:33Speaker 4: all the time.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Well, there you have it.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Okay, let's let's go a shout out this morning to
- 3:42Speaker 4: the gang right down the road over here at toun Contoni's.
- 3:45Speaker 3: They're busting their ass. They're amazing over here, they are
- 3:49Speaker 3: just amazing. We were just there. Yeah, everybody is hustling. Yeah,
- 3:56Speaker 3: and they're still friendly. Yes, because a lot of times
- 3:59Speaker 3: when they're hust slaying, they're not friendly people, not them,
- 4:02Speaker 3: but other people.
- 4:03Speaker 4: When you're busy, you know, you can you can be
- 4:06Speaker 4: a little short sometimes understandably understandable. When you're super busy,
- 4:12Speaker 4: you don't want to be like, so, how is your Thanksgiving?
- 4:19Speaker 4: You're you're hustling, you're busy. Anyway, shout out to them anyways,
- 4:22Speaker 4: probably have a lot to talk about this morning. First,
- 4:25Speaker 4: my good friend John Dupree from dupre Stowing YEP stranded
- 4:33Speaker 4: down in uh Lebanon area this morning, White River, Lebanon,
- 4:36Speaker 4: somewhere down there. It's got a flat tire. So maybe
- 4:40Speaker 4: he needs to call him so tracked, maybe he should
- 4:44Speaker 4: call himself.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Yes, yes, send himself a text and respond just like
- 4:50Speaker 3: they always do. Will be there as quickly as we can, sir, I.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Wish I was down there, uh to give him a
- 5:00Speaker 4: because he's saved my ass countless times. So here's the deal.
- 5:04Speaker 4: He's got four snow tires on this car. It's a
- 5:09Speaker 4: super ru and one of them blew out, so the
- 5:16Speaker 4: other finding one that's the exact same tread because it's
- 5:21Speaker 4: all wheel drive and a huge pain in the ass.
- 5:23Speaker 4: So basically, the bottom line is he's got to get
- 5:26Speaker 4: rid of the other three tires and he's got to
- 5:29Speaker 4: buy four new tires.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Why can't he go to a tie away house, does
- 5:33Speaker 3: something and just get that tire.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Because he says that it's probably going to take him
- 5:39Speaker 4: so long to find that exact tire that.
- 5:42Speaker 3: It's not worth it. Oh my god, I don't know
- 5:43Speaker 3: anything about this stuff. I'm feeling I'm feeling a little
- 5:47Speaker 3: too much drama for a tire. Here's the deal.
- 5:52Speaker 4: He's going to send me the tire size of these
- 5:55Speaker 4: other three snows which are in great shape, and I'm
- 6:00Speaker 4: going to put him on Facebook here and see if
- 6:03Speaker 4: I can sell him for three tires for twenty percent commission.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Three tires, three tires, Oh all right, all right, ten
- 6:11Speaker 4: percent commission.
- 6:12Speaker 3: God three tires that have to match another tire to
- 6:16Speaker 3: be able to buy it, just saying yeah, all right,
- 6:20Speaker 3: well tis the season.
- 6:22Speaker 4: You never know, miracles will happen. What what did we
- 6:25Speaker 4: want to lead off with this morning, because there's so much.
- 6:28Speaker 4: First of all, thanks for tuning in, Thanks for being
- 6:31Speaker 4: here with us, Thanks for sharing your morning with us,
- 6:35Speaker 4: sharing your time with us, sharing your coffee with us.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Wherever you are on the planet.
- 6:41Speaker 3: What's what's the Do we have birthdays or weather or anything?
- 6:45Speaker 3: You have good birthdays?
- 6:46Speaker 4: Karen Butler, Hailey Lynn, Christina steikos Ken, Eaton, Maya Ballou,
- 6:55Speaker 4: Steve Arguin, Elizabeth Davis Fortman, Judy Cannon, and Sue Altrich. Well,
- 7:03Speaker 4: happy birthday everybody on this National Stretching Day.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I'll go first, okay, just as far as I can
- 7:12Speaker 3: get my shoulders. Your turn?
- 7:15Speaker 4: Oh wow, okay, can we see the fingernails? What hold
- 7:22Speaker 4: him still? Don't hold him still a little a little
- 7:26Speaker 4: closer to the camera.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Okay, wow, poyes, I gotta get my grench nails on
- 7:36Speaker 3: next Friday for the party you got the the the
- 7:40Speaker 3: house grinchified. Oh yeah, it threw up grench everywhere, really,
- 7:44Speaker 3: and it's throwing up a little Crampis too. How so,
- 7:50Speaker 3: I absolutely love the Crampus and I didn't know anything
- 7:54Speaker 3: about him until somebody turned me on to him a
- 7:57Speaker 3: couple of weeks ago. And the Rampus is the dark
- 8:02Speaker 3: Santa Claus. He's the opposite of Santa okay, And so
- 8:08Speaker 3: he likes to do very mischievous and dangerous things. He's
- 8:12Speaker 3: just dark, okay. And so I now have my Grinch tree,
- 8:17Speaker 3: which everybody saw, which when you showed that picture is
- 8:21Speaker 3: nothing like it looks now. And then on the other
- 8:24Speaker 3: side of the room there's an upside down Christmas tree
- 8:28Speaker 3: with all black Christmas balls on it and lights and
- 8:32Speaker 3: all that stuff. That is the Crampis's tree. Okay. Yeah,
- 8:39Speaker 3: you didn't even know there was such a thing as
- 8:41Speaker 3: an upside down tree. No, because when I sent you
- 8:44Speaker 3: the picture, you're like, but why did you put it
- 8:48Speaker 3: upside down? It's literally made that the base that the
- 8:52Speaker 3: top of the tree sits in the base and then
- 8:55Speaker 3: goes up upside down. So it's a very dark looking tree,
- 8:59Speaker 3: but it's got red and white lights on it. Upside
- 9:02Speaker 3: Down Christmas trees, yes, are a thing. It's a thing. Yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 3: is it a new thing? Please? I don't know how
- 9:13Speaker 3: new it is. I saw one when we went to
- 9:15Speaker 3: Trans Siberian and they had it in the in the lobby, okay,
- 9:19Speaker 3: and then Jed said, oh yeah, no, this upside down trees.
- 9:22Speaker 3: So immediately I ordered one. I thought it was only
- 9:26Speaker 3: six feet It was actually seven and a half. But
- 9:28Speaker 3: that's fine, okay. And so I decorated it with very
- 9:31Speaker 3: large black Christmas balls on the top, then large, then medium,
- 9:36Speaker 3: then small at the bottom. And I have a big
- 9:39Speaker 3: Santa bag that the tree is going into, and there's
- 9:43Speaker 3: presence in there, but also the tree because the crampus
- 9:47Speaker 3: is taking the tree and shoving it in there. All
- 9:50Speaker 3: part of the holiday party. Sounds great. You saw the picture.
- 9:58Speaker 3: It looks pretty cool. It's interesting. Fuck off anyway, what's
- 10:08Speaker 3: the weather? And then I have a question.
- 10:09Speaker 4: This is your weekly mental floss with G by the way,
- 10:15Speaker 4: if you're just tuning in the G spot, yes, slouching here,
- 10:21Speaker 4: weather is a couple of inches of snow.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Is it going to snow today? Yes? Right here? Is
- 10:29Speaker 3: it going to snow today? Yes it is? Yeah, a
- 10:31Speaker 3: little bit.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Because it looks pretty nice. And bomby out there, well,
- 10:34Speaker 4: the sun was trying to come out earlier, but it
- 10:37Speaker 4: was blue sky. Yeah, and then the snow kicked its ass. Yes,
- 10:41Speaker 4: cloudy today for the most part, snow showers, daytime high
- 10:47Speaker 4: twenty five bomby going backwards to fifteen by the afternoon. Wow, yes,
- 10:56Speaker 4: Hector saying, God, please help this man. Yes, heck da, listen,
- 11:03Speaker 4: you got an upside down Christmas tree. I need to
- 11:05Speaker 4: help pal spurry. My whole house is Christmas. It's ready
- 11:10Speaker 4: for the party, which is next weekend, next Saturday. Yeah,
- 11:14Speaker 4: a week from this Saturday. Lord help me.
- 11:16Speaker 3: I know I've got a lot of work to do
- 11:18Speaker 3: on the food party.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Honestly, Lord help you, because I'll be there tonight cloudy
- 11:24Speaker 4: and a ball me ten degrees across Central from up
- 11:29Speaker 4: Tomorrow clouds and sun twenty Saturday, cloudy twenty eight, Sunday
- 11:36Speaker 4: morning snow showers and twenty two.
- 11:39Speaker 3: And my dog does not like this weather. He talks
- 11:42Speaker 3: a little kind of a little pansy.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Well, you know, when it's your dog is like my sweater. Really,
- 11:51Speaker 4: I think so there's no disrespective figure. Wow, wow, disrespect
- 11:56Speaker 4: wow my sweater.
- 11:57Speaker 3: No, he gets the snow stuck in the poll. Yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 3: and then when he comes in he's yelping and crying,
- 12:03Speaker 3: and I have to rub his paws and clean out
- 12:05Speaker 3: the snow. I mean, you know, he's all of fourteen pounds.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I don't cut him a break. Hey, I have a
- 12:11Speaker 3: question for you.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Sure, I have a question for you Falcons and buccaneers
- 12:15Speaker 4: you can be watching to now, all right, go ahead.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I almost spit that up. I have a question. Listen
- 12:23Speaker 3: this are you're watching now? Okay, go ahead. You asked first.
- 12:26Speaker 3: My question is very simple. Okay, what do we consider
- 12:30Speaker 3: not a Christmas movie? I have a very simple answer
- 12:37Speaker 3: to that, and I'm probably gonna agree with you. Let's
- 12:41Speaker 3: let's make this the question of the day. Okay, let's
- 12:47Speaker 3: make this the Facebook question of the day. Okay, what's
- 12:51Speaker 3: your favorite Christmas movie? What's the worst Christmas movie in
- 12:58Speaker 3: your opinion? Well, my opinion's factual, so I'm gonna say
- 13:03Speaker 3: the worst Christmas movie. It's not a Christmas movie. Everybody says, oh,
- 13:09Speaker 3: die Hard is a Christmas movie. No, die Hard is
- 13:14Speaker 3: not a Christmas movie. Despite what my husband says, thank you,
- 13:19Speaker 3: it's not. And every year, oh, we're gonna watch this
- 13:22Speaker 3: because it's a Christmas movie. I'm like, no, it is
- 13:25Speaker 3: not Plugging my phone in in case Carolyn calls. Plug
- 13:28Speaker 3: in your phone, just in case she calls, because that's bullshit.
- 13:31Speaker 3: She's gonna get worked up here. And I'm gonna say
- 13:33Speaker 3: what you always say, j D, what say you? I
- 13:38Speaker 3: say that die Hard is very much not a Christmas movie, right.
- 13:46Speaker 3: People say it's Christmas movie because it's held at Christmas
- 13:50Speaker 3: time but has no no theme of Christmas at all.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Glenn is saying, in your opinion, No, Glenn back, I
- 14:02Speaker 3: have already in my opinion. We all have opinions.
- 14:08Speaker 4: In my fact, I gotta tell you, you know, and
- 14:14Speaker 4: and I've I've had I have this conversation with Paul
- 14:17Speaker 4: Brody every year, with Sherilyn every year. I think with
- 14:20Speaker 4: you every year too. Home Alone is a story with
- 14:27Speaker 4: a plot that is about a child that is left
- 14:33Speaker 4: at home while the family goes away on vacation and
- 14:37Speaker 4: robbers are trying to get into the house and he
- 14:40Speaker 4: retaliates against them and gains control of the house.
- 14:45Speaker 3: That is the plot, right. It's not a Christmas movie,
- 14:50Speaker 3: thank you.
- 14:52Speaker 4: It was you know, filmed during Christmas time and all
- 14:55Speaker 4: that stuff, but there's nothing about the underlying story no,
- 15:00Speaker 4: that is about Christmas, right or the Christmas spirit or
- 15:03Speaker 4: the Christmas message or anything.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Same thing with die Hard. I challenge anybody to tell
- 15:09Speaker 3: me what the Christmas story in die Hard is about.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I thought it was about Bruce Willis, barely wearing any shirt,
- 15:17Speaker 3: climbing through rafters, blowing ship up and getting shot at
- 15:21Speaker 3: by assassins and freakin' thieves.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Glennysane, you really are a grinch. You're stealing all of
- 15:31Speaker 4: the joy. I'll get over it. Linda says, Home Alone
- 15:34Speaker 4: is stupid. Thank you, Thank you, Linda. And Jed says
- 15:40Speaker 4: that die Hard is a Christmas movie. Let's see Jet's
- 15:43Speaker 4: come in here, Chris. A Christmas movie is a piece
- 15:46Speaker 4: of cinema. Oh see, he's getting all fancyness.
- 15:50Speaker 3: And he's gonna he's gonna use fancy words to blow
- 15:52Speaker 3: his way through. But none of it's true. Go ahead
- 15:55Speaker 3: even read the rest of this.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Go ahead, read it is my time worth Yeah, yeah,
- 16:00Speaker 4: let's teach Jed a lesson. All right, a piece of
- 16:05Speaker 4: cinema that brings joy to you during the holiday season.
- 16:11Speaker 3: So Bruce Willis shooting people, and people shooting Bruce Willis
- 16:16Speaker 3: and things blowing up is the joyful part of the movie.
- 16:21Speaker 3: What is it or the last second when he hugs
- 16:24Speaker 3: his wife. Is that the joyful part? Where and there
- 16:28Speaker 3: is anything plotful about Christmas?
- 16:33Speaker 4: He continues, Oh Jesus, it is a very personal perspective.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Oh oh, now we're doing this. It's a personal thing.
- 16:42Speaker 3: It's how I take it. Just because you take it
- 16:45Speaker 3: that way does not mean it's a Christmas movie.
- 16:48Speaker 2: J D.
- 16:49Speaker 3: You said you were going to straighten him out? Do it?
- 16:51Speaker 4: Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are two of my favorites,
- 16:58Speaker 4: he says, But they're now Christmas movies. Think you where
- 17:02Speaker 4: did lethal Weapon come in? If Lethal Weapon was a
- 17:06Speaker 4: Christmas movie, why is it that every new lethal Weapon
- 17:09Speaker 4: that they did afterwards had nothing to do with Christmas time?
- 17:13Speaker 3: Glenn says, Home Alone is a detective movie. Glenn, have
- 17:18Speaker 3: another drink? Okay, you need more coffee? Honey? Did you
- 17:23Speaker 3: just call Glenn honey?
- 17:24Speaker 2: Oh?
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. You know what, when we want to call
- 17:27Speaker 3: somebody something but we don't want to insult them, we
- 17:30Speaker 3: use the word honey or sweetie? What else? I don't know?
- 17:35Speaker 4: By the way, I gotta tell you, man, please, is
- 17:40Speaker 4: it just me? Or is McCaulay cawkin in Home Alone
- 17:45Speaker 4: uglier now than he was then that's an understatement.
- 17:50Speaker 3: But here's the thing. He's so like, so bad.
- 17:55Speaker 4: As I understand he's like, what seven years old when
- 17:58Speaker 4: I was a kid, I get that, But when he's
- 18:02Speaker 4: when he's on camera, it it sounds like he it
- 18:06Speaker 4: almost looks like he is literally scripted, like he's reading
- 18:11Speaker 4: his lines.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you know what? He was good? Does anyone
- 18:14Speaker 3: know what I'm what I'm saying. I know what you're
- 18:16Speaker 3: saying is he wasn't natural, not at all. But he
- 18:19Speaker 3: was a kid. I understand he was a kid. You
- 18:21Speaker 3: know where he was excellent Uncle Buck? Yeah right, he
- 18:25Speaker 3: was really really good in Uncle Buck, which probably was
- 18:30Speaker 3: a Christmas movie because it was in the wintertime.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Okay, you know what I'm saying. So we're talking about
- 18:36Speaker 4: worst Christmas movies here, right, and well, and we're gonna
- 18:39Speaker 4: stick with diehod I can put yours in the comments here.
- 18:42Speaker 4: I would love to see what.
- 18:43Speaker 3: You have to say. That's it. That's why you're gonna
- 18:46Speaker 3: give jed uh you mean for crap? Yeah, you threatened
- 18:50Speaker 3: him with the fact that he's he's just ignorant. No,
- 18:56Speaker 3: I never said that. We're thinking it.
- 18:59Speaker 4: Wait a minute, Taylor saying home Alone is all about
- 19:01Speaker 4: the importance of family and being with those you love. That,
- 19:06Speaker 4: paired with the movie taking place exclusively at Christmas time,
- 19:11Speaker 4: I'd say it would be a Christmas movie. No, that's
- 19:16Speaker 4: what That's what taylors us.
- 19:17Speaker 3: So in other words, Taylor, if we hang a Christmas
- 19:20Speaker 3: light on something and it all ends warm and fuzzy,
- 19:23Speaker 3: it becomes a Christmas movie. Now, what it becomes is
- 19:27Speaker 3: a lesson to parents to pay attention to your kids
- 19:30Speaker 3: and not leave them behind because you're a horrible parent.
- 19:35Speaker 3: That's the lesson. Don't do what they did.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Uh.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Sheall also says overrated. Some may say, but I'd have
- 19:45Speaker 4: to say it's a Christmas movie.
- 19:48Speaker 3: I'd have to say that they need to that. I
- 19:51Speaker 3: don't care. I'd have to say, but the parents when
- 19:53Speaker 3: they got home should have been arrested, okay, for not
- 19:57Speaker 3: taking care of their child. If my child was left
- 20:01Speaker 3: at home and I got on the plane, I'd get
- 20:03Speaker 3: on the next France. Yeah, and I'd get on the
- 20:06Speaker 3: next goddamn plane right back home. Well they did, oh please,
- 20:10Speaker 3: they did not. They tried to. Yeah, look at how
- 20:13Speaker 3: many days he's spent there by himself, no neighbors, no friends,
- 20:17Speaker 3: no nobody. Come on, yeah, call the house and tell
- 20:19Speaker 3: your kid. I'm sending Billy over from next door to
- 20:22Speaker 3: watch you until we get home. Something responds, something, Please, something,
- 20:27Speaker 3: I know. Please. Tammy watched it last night. You know.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Here's the thing. If you can watch it. It's a
- 20:33Speaker 3: delightful movie. It's good for a laugh.
- 20:35Speaker 4: DCF would have and the police, oh my god, I
- 20:38Speaker 4: would have been waiting there with handcuffs for kid would
- 20:42Speaker 4: have been gone. He would have been in state custody, yeah,
- 20:44Speaker 4: for sure. And the parents would have been arrested. And
- 20:47Speaker 4: there's your freaking Christmas. There should be a rework of
- 20:50Speaker 4: Home Alone.
- 20:51Speaker 3: I agree. The fact that they came out with Home
- 20:54Speaker 3: Alone two yeah, just shows the parents are even dumber
- 20:57Speaker 3: than they were in the water, same mistake, because they're stupid.
- 21:02Speaker 3: They're bad parents. Jeez, the worst.
- 21:06Speaker 4: We're talking about worst Christmas movies here, and please, any
- 21:10Speaker 4: opinion you have, don't be afraid of Gee, just put.
- 21:13Speaker 3: It up there. We want to see what you have.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Except for Glenn. Except for Glenn, right, Clint's not afraid
- 21:18Speaker 3: of you. This is my list. Is not afraid of me.
- 21:22Speaker 3: I don't want them afraid of me. I want him
- 21:24Speaker 3: to just follow what I'm thinking and agree with me
- 21:28Speaker 3: or else or else.
- 21:31Speaker 4: One of the worst Christmas movies I've ever seen in
- 21:35Speaker 4: my life.
- 21:37Speaker 3: There's two.
- 21:39Speaker 4: Is Red One with Dwayne the Rock Johnson. It was
- 21:45Speaker 4: in theaters what two years ago. It was atrocious.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Well, I'm gonna say, and and the Locke really isn't
- 21:55Speaker 3: the greatest actor I have never thought so. However, men
- 22:00Speaker 3: John Cena think that they're both funny in movies and stuff,
- 22:04Speaker 3: and they're not. I totally agree. I mean, just because
- 22:09Speaker 3: you're big and you're cute doesn't mean that you're a
- 22:12Speaker 3: great actor. And they are not good actors. And John
- 22:15Speaker 3: Cena doesn't even know how to make anybody laugh. I
- 22:19Speaker 3: totally agree. I'm not a fan. Just say it.
- 22:23Speaker 4: He Dwaine the Rock Johnson. He might be a great guy.
- 22:26Speaker 4: He does a lot for charity and so on and
- 22:28Speaker 4: so forth. But I agree acting, No, No, There's two
- 22:34Speaker 4: there's he's trying too hard, yep, I agree, And yet
- 22:40Speaker 4: people love him. So that was that was a movie
- 22:44Speaker 4: that I you know, sometimes there's movies where you're just like,
- 22:49Speaker 4: oh my god, jed Man, He's saying Red One is hilarious.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Love the Rock. Yeah, but the Rock doesn't know how
- 22:58Speaker 3: to act. Jed, I've told you that I'm million times
- 23:01Speaker 3: and don't forget. Happy spouse makes a happy house. So
- 23:05Speaker 3: just agree with me and let's not go further.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Yeah, listen, we don't want the police to come to
- 23:11Speaker 4: your house tonight because you and Jed are fighting about
- 23:13Speaker 4: die Hard and Red One and.
- 23:16Speaker 3: He'll lose, all right, he'll lose.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Red One was one of those movies where I was
- 23:22Speaker 4: when I went to the theaters and I saw it,
- 23:24Speaker 4: I was probably twenty minutes into it, and I was
- 23:27Speaker 4: thinking to myself, Oh my god, I can't believe that
- 23:33Speaker 4: Hollywood would ever create such shit yep and put that
- 23:39Speaker 4: out yep. And I feel like I feel like, really,
- 23:43Speaker 4: how how like what we've become? Were we got to
- 23:47Speaker 4: go see something so stupid?
- 23:49Speaker 3: Yeah? Yep, no, I agree, I agree it's so bad.
- 23:55Speaker 3: The other one. I feel like all of the Rocks
- 23:58Speaker 3: movies are like a B movie or a CE movie.
- 24:01Speaker 3: I don't see them as a movies. What's another one
- 24:05Speaker 3: that you hate? The other one is?
- 24:07Speaker 4: And I gotta be careful here because this is aired
- 24:10Speaker 4: out well, this is one of Lily's favorite Christmas favies. Well,
- 24:16Speaker 4: I don't care either.
- 24:17Speaker 3: And this is my well, I don't care, this is
- 24:20Speaker 3: my daughter.
- 24:22Speaker 4: But you know, and I said to her last night,
- 24:24Speaker 4: I said, honey, I am going to be talking about
- 24:27Speaker 4: this on the air tomorrow. And she was like, Dad,
- 24:29Speaker 4: come on, really she got upset. Yeah, well, it's she's young.
- 24:34Speaker 4: She'll get over it. The movie The Christmas Chronicles with
- 24:39Speaker 4: do you know what I'm talking about?
- 24:41Speaker 3: No, I've heard of it though.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Kurt Russell is Santa Claus. Oh god, yes, all right,
- 24:48Speaker 4: and Goldie Han is Missus Claus.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, no, thank you. It is so bad. Yeah,
- 24:57Speaker 3: And to take two A listers because both of them
- 25:01Speaker 3: are a list I know that. I agree, and make
- 25:03Speaker 3: that and and diminish them. I agree, diminish them. Now
- 25:07Speaker 3: they've been together for years? Was it thirty forty years?
- 25:11Speaker 3: I mean they are a power couple. Yes, but.
- 25:15Speaker 4: Come on, people so bad? Okay, Glenn says, well, they
- 25:20Speaker 4: put Barbie out. I mean he's got a good point.
- 25:22Speaker 4: I mean that was I just don't.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Bobbie was a movie that probably brought up all my
- 25:30Speaker 3: gag reflexes. But do you know what though, what it
- 25:32Speaker 3: exploded at the box office? Yeah, well, just because somebody explodes,
- 25:36Speaker 3: doesn't mean it's good. It pulled in billions. That's because
- 25:40Speaker 3: of the kids. I know. Just because kids go to
- 25:45Speaker 3: a movie doesn't look that. Kids, you're really gonna base
- 25:49Speaker 3: what you're going to enjoy the movie theater on kids
- 25:51Speaker 3: that want to see it. Well, i'd rather see SpongeBob's
- 25:57Speaker 3: Christmas that you know the SpongeBob movies coming out. Yeah, well,
- 26:00Speaker 3: I'd rather see SpongeBob Christmas than than Bobby or any
- 26:03Speaker 3: of that. The crap. I gotta tell you.
- 26:07Speaker 4: When Lily and Lily and Shehrlyn both love the Christmas
- 26:11Speaker 4: Chronicle movie when they put it on, I'm not I'm dead, sir,
- 26:15Speaker 4: I'm not choking. When they put it on, I'm up
- 26:19Speaker 4: off the couch. Mm hm earbuds in. I agree, and
- 26:23Speaker 4: I'm washing dishes right, I'm serious.
- 26:26Speaker 3: No, I hear you. There's there's movies Jed puts on
- 26:29Speaker 3: that I'm like, no, go ahead and watch it. I'm
- 26:31Speaker 3: just gonna go do this. I'm gonna go put my
- 26:34Speaker 3: head in the snow bank out in the driveway, yes,
- 26:37Speaker 3: and pray to God I don't come out of it.
- 26:40Speaker 3: The other one on the worst list here, and I
- 26:42Speaker 3: have admittedly I have some mixed emotions here about this one.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Sherilyn is vehement about this and says, it's a wonderful life.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Now you're messing with a classic. Now you're messing with
- 27:04Speaker 3: a classic. Be careful. It's a wonderful life. Is the
- 27:08Speaker 3: epitome of a Christmas movie. It's a classic. Okay, that
- 27:18Speaker 3: is all about Christmas? Yes, yeah, and the classic. I
- 27:24Speaker 3: don't think Jed's ever seen that. Oh, I don't think
- 27:27Speaker 3: he's ever seen It's a wonderful life. Why why? I
- 27:30Speaker 3: don't know. He'll probably say yes I did, but I
- 27:32Speaker 3: don't think he's seen it. I think he needs to
- 27:36Speaker 3: that that tonight. That shall happen right away. Well that's
- 27:40Speaker 3: fine because I'm still decorating and stuff. You know, nobody
- 27:44Speaker 3: helps me do anything at the house for Christmas. I
- 27:46Speaker 3: do all the decorating and everything alone.
- 27:49Speaker 4: Wait a second, are you saying that Michael actually doesn't
- 27:53Speaker 4: help you with something?
- 27:56Speaker 3: That's correct?
- 27:57Speaker 4: All right, So Sherilyn's weighing in here. She's just commented
- 28:03Speaker 4: one word right wrong. I'll fuck go off, Chriylyn. She
- 28:09Speaker 4: knows how to call me if she wants to come
- 28:11Speaker 4: on the air.
- 28:11Speaker 3: She doesn't, so she doesn't think A Wonderful Life is
- 28:14Speaker 3: a good movie. No, Charlyne, it's a classic. However, it
- 28:19Speaker 3: may not have been acted perfectly, but that was back
- 28:22Speaker 3: in black and white. Here's the thing. Jed says, he
- 28:29Speaker 3: has seen it. It was good once.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Donna says, yes, it's a Wonderful Life is a Christmas
- 28:38Speaker 4: favorite in our home.
- 28:40Speaker 3: And the classic. Yes.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Glenn says, I do all mine all alone, well, because
- 28:44Speaker 4: I don't have anybody. He's talking about decorating. Chrylyn says,
- 28:48Speaker 4: the guy wishes he was never born. It's depressed and
- 28:53Speaker 4: he wants to jump off a bridge.
- 28:54Speaker 3: And does is that how he feels At the end
- 28:56Speaker 3: during the Christmas Spirit, the Christmas Spirit pulls him out
- 29:02Speaker 3: of a thunk and gives him a reason to move on. Tada,
- 29:08Speaker 3: you want the bell? Yes, take your fingers off the keyboard, girl,
- 29:12Speaker 3: because I just Sam slam dunked you.
- 29:16Speaker 4: However, you're you're right. We go to the bottom, yeah,
- 29:21Speaker 4: and then we go to the top. And when we
- 29:24Speaker 4: go back to the top in such a short period
- 29:27Speaker 4: of time, when we are reawakened and we see the
- 29:29Speaker 4: value of life right, not only that, but at a
- 29:32Speaker 4: perfect time, which is Christmas right with our family and
- 29:36Speaker 4: what's most important during Christmas?
- 29:39Speaker 3: Family? Family.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Yes, it's not gifts, Nope, it's being surrounded by people
- 29:43Speaker 4: that love.
- 29:44Speaker 3: You, yep, and all of that. Yep. I think that's
- 29:48Speaker 3: that's the message. The message. Yeah, And what's unfortunate is
- 29:53Speaker 3: that that message, which which is so true. Okay, what's unfortunate.
- 29:58Speaker 3: I don't know if you've been feeling it, but I've
- 30:00Speaker 3: been feeling it that this time of year around here,
- 30:04Speaker 3: there's like a weird vibe. It's not people are not
- 30:10Speaker 3: what they're supposed to be this time of year. It
- 30:14Speaker 3: feels gloomy. You know. I try to be nice to people.
- 30:18Speaker 3: I try to to wish their merry Christmas or happy Holidays,
- 30:23Speaker 3: and it's like pulling teeth for them to you know.
- 30:28Speaker 3: And here in Barry, it's all white, it's snowing. We're
- 30:32Speaker 3: getting closer to Christmas, we're getting closer to the New Year.
- 30:36Speaker 3: You think people would be like, wow, we got snow
- 30:38Speaker 3: and all this stuff, and it's just gloomy. Yeah, it's
- 30:43Speaker 3: just the energy feels wrong.
- 30:46Speaker 4: I know what you're saying, and I know what you're saying,
- 30:52Speaker 4: and I think that we've got a lot of a
- 30:55Speaker 4: lot of things to do in that department to turn around. Yeah,
- 31:00Speaker 4: because I see a lot of it on Facebook. Oh
- 31:05Speaker 4: my gosh, yes, I see a lot of it.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Yeah, So I agree. I'm with you. I'm with you.
- 31:12Speaker 3: It's just sad because first of all, we should be
- 31:15Speaker 3: cheerful and pleasant to people all year long. Well that's
- 31:18Speaker 3: what Tom was alluding to on Tuesday in the air
- 31:22Speaker 3: right here, right, That's that's what should be happening, is He.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Was basically saying that, you know, there's this all this
- 31:28Speaker 4: momentum in this all of these these craft fairs and
- 31:32Speaker 4: festivals and this and carols and everything in music and
- 31:36Speaker 4: everything that's going on, decorations, decorations and fundraising and blah
- 31:39Speaker 4: blah blah. But then once once December twenty six hits, Yeah,
- 31:44Speaker 4: now everybody, every things get quiet.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Everybody goes back to being an asshole. Yeah, pretty much,
- 31:52Speaker 3: not everybody, most people. It's unfortunate because you know, I try, yeah,
- 31:58Speaker 3: and people bring me down. Yeah. You know, instead of
- 32:03Speaker 3: bringing you up, they bring you down, and you're like,
- 32:06Speaker 3: leave me alone. That's why I get that attitude of
- 32:09Speaker 3: don't talk to me, because people are so negative all
- 32:13Speaker 3: the time that when when I go out. There's times
- 32:16Speaker 3: I go out all in a great mood and I
- 32:18Speaker 3: come back and I say to Dred, I wanted to
- 32:20Speaker 3: kill somebody because they don't care how they affect you. Yeah.
- 32:26Speaker 3: I know what you're saying. And you understand that people
- 32:29Speaker 3: have their own stories, they have their own problems, they
- 32:31Speaker 3: have their own pressures in life that pull them down. Yeah,
- 32:36Speaker 3: but if we were all a little nicer, maybe our
- 32:39Speaker 3: niceness would pull them up a little bit. Yeah.
- 32:42Speaker 4: And we have had, as Glenn is alluding to here,
- 32:47Speaker 4: we've had some some pretty heavy stuff that's been going on. Yes, yeah,
- 32:52Speaker 4: in the news, and we're going to talk about I'm
- 32:55Speaker 4: going to be talking about those things a little bit
- 32:58Speaker 4: more tomorrow. But and I have thoughts and feelings about
- 33:04Speaker 4: that stuff. But back to It's a Wonderful Life. The
- 33:09Speaker 4: bottom line is it The movie kind of takes us
- 33:16Speaker 4: down a road where we realize in the end, what's
- 33:21Speaker 4: the bigger picture, what's most important? What's the real true
- 33:25Speaker 4: spirit of not only Christmas, human but human life life.
- 33:31Speaker 4: I mean, the movie is called It's a Wonderful Life, right,
- 33:35Speaker 4: It doesn't say it's a wonderful life during Christmas time?
- 33:38Speaker 3: Correct? So? Correct?
- 33:40Speaker 4: I agree, but Sherilyn has a point. There's a most
- 33:45Speaker 4: of the movie is pretty low and discouraging. We got
- 33:52Speaker 4: a guy with high hopes, big dreams, and his world crashes. Yep,
- 33:56Speaker 4: which happens to all of us. Happens to all of us.
- 33:59Speaker 3: We all have I have really good, things are going great.
- 34:02Speaker 3: I always say when things are going great, I say,
- 34:05Speaker 3: when's the shoe gonna drop? But when that shoe drops,
- 34:08Speaker 3: it usually drops hard? Yeah, okay, And it makes life
- 34:12Speaker 3: difficult financially or otherwise otherwise. Right, And you need to
- 34:17Speaker 3: find the positive in living, not in life, because life
- 34:22Speaker 3: sometimes is not positive. For example, what is this next
- 34:30Speaker 3: to me? This? This, this bunch of this mess, this
- 34:35Speaker 3: Christmas lights of a plethora of knots and turns and
- 34:41Speaker 3: twists and stuck together kind of thing? What is that?
- 34:46Speaker 3: I was just.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Chrylyn gave that to me and said, please give this
- 34:52Speaker 4: to g and tell him when he gets a chance
- 34:55Speaker 4: to untangle it.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Oh, Cholin, I love you, but that ain't never gonna happen. Girl.
- 35:03Speaker 3: It's not that bad. Show it again on camera. It's
- 35:05Speaker 3: not that that bad look. Look, it doesn't come about,
- 35:10Speaker 3: it's it's glued. You know what We should do. If
- 35:14Speaker 3: I untangle this, I'm keeping it. You know, you know,
- 35:17Speaker 3: you know what should be done with that? What? Just
- 35:20Speaker 3: plug it in?
- 35:21Speaker 2: Yeah, be done with that.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Hang it from something and make it look like a
- 35:24Speaker 3: big Christmas ball. I love that. But Lyn, if you
- 35:30Speaker 3: want me to untangle that, honey, I will, But then
- 35:32Speaker 3: it's mine because I will use that to decorate my house.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Crazy sus what she said? She said, just give it
- 35:39Speaker 4: to g He'll he'll untangle it.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Just it. Just give it to me.
- 35:44Speaker 4: Yeah, he'll do it for me. Oh honey, I will
- 35:47Speaker 4: do it for you, but you can't have it back,
- 35:50Speaker 4: she says. It's wrapped perfectly, so shut it.
- 35:54Speaker 3: So you want me to just hang that as a
- 35:55Speaker 3: Christmas ball somewhere God, and slow, slowly, as the season
- 36:01Speaker 3: gets more closer to Christmas, it'll start like stretching and
- 36:05Speaker 3: opening up on its own, and will come on Christmas
- 36:08Speaker 3: morning it'll be completely unraveled from hanging there all that time,
- 36:12Speaker 3: and we will call it a Christmas miracle. Putting a
- 36:19Speaker 3: tear in my eye here, buddy, I know I noticed
- 36:22Speaker 3: you used both middle fingers to wipe your eyes.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Beautiful, beautiful. So we talked about the worst, worst, Christmas movie.
- 36:31Speaker 4: What's what's your most famous Christmas movie?
- 36:33Speaker 3: Oh gosh, honestly, I was gonna say It's a Wonderful Life,
- 36:37Speaker 3: but I better leave that one alone, please. I don't
- 36:43Speaker 3: think I have a favorite Christmas movie. I guess my
- 36:48Speaker 3: very famous favorite one would be The Grinch with uh
- 36:52Speaker 3: with Jim Carrey. Okay, I watched that the other day
- 36:55Speaker 3: with my brother and I just laughed my asshof and
- 36:59Speaker 3: I had to go to the at the movie, so
- 37:00Speaker 3: we had to hit pause, yeah, because I didn't want
- 37:02Speaker 3: to miss one bit of it. But Jim Carrey is
- 37:06Speaker 3: such a talented, talented actor in so many ways. But
- 37:10Speaker 3: when he played the Grinch, boy, he nailed that one,
- 37:13Speaker 3: nailed it, nailed.
- 37:14Speaker 4: It absolutely, And he said so many great movies. I
- 37:17Speaker 4: got so many yes, mask I mean the list goes on.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Yes. And he's done some serious movies that yeah, he
- 37:25Speaker 3: just nailed. Yes. And people are like, now, this movie's boring,
- 37:28Speaker 3: it's not your typical Jim Carrey. Well forgive him for
- 37:31Speaker 3: stepping out of one thing and trying something else, yeah,
- 37:34Speaker 3: and still nailing.
- 37:36Speaker 4: We watched it the other day too, And that's one.
- 37:39Speaker 4: Here's the thing about me. I generally don't enjoy watching
- 37:44Speaker 4: a movie twice right or three times. It just doesn't
- 37:48Speaker 4: happen for me. Oh, Jed could watch the same movie
- 37:52Speaker 4: ten times in one year. I'm like, really, we've seen
- 37:54Speaker 4: this before, I know, but I like it. Grinch with
- 37:59Speaker 4: Jim Carrie. I don't get tired of that now. We
- 38:02Speaker 4: just like two or three days ago, we watched it,
- 38:04Speaker 4: loved it, and so much of that was improv ft.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Yes for Jim yes, which makes it even well. He
- 38:11Speaker 4: goes off script a lot, a lot in all his movies.
- 38:14Speaker 4: I mean, and Cable Guy Hysterical. Yeah, you know, the
- 38:17Speaker 4: guy is just very talented. And when he did The Grinch,
- 38:20Speaker 4: I was like, oh God, they're gonna make the Grinch
- 38:23Speaker 4: in a real show. And it was splendid.
- 38:27Speaker 3: You know what.
- 38:27Speaker 4: You know what Charlyn's doing here, She's we've started a
- 38:31Speaker 4: new tradition at our house where we're watching certain Christmas movies, yes,
- 38:35Speaker 4: and pairing it up with a meal. Right, So we
- 38:39Speaker 4: did home alone. We had pizza and ice cream. Yep,
- 38:43Speaker 4: we we just watched The Grinch and she had a
- 38:46Speaker 4: beautiful roast beast.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Nice. Yes, I saw it. She sent me pictures. I
- 38:51Speaker 3: was like, damn you beautiful, and I did, what's the movie?
- 38:55Speaker 3: I said, Beast? What's Yeah, well it's Roast Beast. Yes,
- 39:00Speaker 3: what's the movie that She says that Jed and I
- 39:02Speaker 3: are going to come over and we're going to do
- 39:03Speaker 3: a dinner.
- 39:04Speaker 4: The last one Christmas vacation. Yes, yes, Jed's never seen that. Okay,
- 39:11Speaker 4: he talks about die Hard and doesn't even watch a
- 39:14Speaker 4: true movie. I listen. I love Jed. I think there's
- 39:20Speaker 4: a little something. When it's twenty below and he's walking
- 39:23Speaker 4: around with shorts, Yep, there could be something wrong, yeah
- 39:27Speaker 4: with this man.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Well, he had a T shirt and shorts on last
- 39:30Speaker 3: night and I was like, I gotta go get the mail.
- 39:31Speaker 3: He's like, I'll get it. The cold bothers you. And
- 39:33Speaker 3: he went out in T shirts and a short with
- 39:36Speaker 3: the snow coming down that my dog won't go outside
- 39:40Speaker 3: and just walked over with no jacket or anything to
- 39:43Speaker 3: get the mail. There's something going on, yeah, something. Hopefully
- 39:47Speaker 3: medication can help, like downers or something. You know. However, however,
- 39:54Speaker 3: do you know what it's like trying to ride in
- 39:55Speaker 3: a car with him where he's hot and I'm freezing,
- 39:59Speaker 3: So he's got my side set to seventy five with
- 40:01Speaker 3: the heated seat and his side he has set to
- 40:05Speaker 3: sixty eight or something.
- 40:07Speaker 4: The fact that he thinks that Diehard is a Christmas
- 40:10Speaker 4: movie and he loves the Chipmunks, Alvin and the Chipmunks.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Did he not have the nerve to play that? On
- 40:17Speaker 3: the trip down to Trans Siberian, I know, we were like,
- 40:21Speaker 3: all of a sudden, we listen to all this music
- 40:22Speaker 3: and all of a sudden Alvin comes on.
- 40:25Speaker 4: He tried, he tried, He got booed right out of
- 40:27Speaker 4: that one. The fact that he's never seen Christmas Vacation
- 40:30Speaker 4: Yeah with Chevy Chase.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Yeah, stunts me. Yeah, well it seals the deal that
- 40:34Speaker 3: there's something not right about him. Yeah.
- 40:37Speaker 4: So I would say Christmas Vacation is probably if I
- 40:42Speaker 4: had to pick one, it would be difficult, but I
- 40:44Speaker 4: would say, look at the list we got. I got
- 40:47Speaker 4: to run this list down here, but Christmas Vacation would
- 40:50Speaker 4: probably be mine, along with The Grinch with Jim Carrey.
- 40:56Speaker 4: I have to specify Jim Carrey Polar Express. Eh, it's
- 41:03Speaker 4: all right, beautiful movie, all about what now Christmas?
- 41:08Speaker 3: Yeah, well that's what it's supposed to be. Elf, No, no, not,
- 41:13Speaker 3: I can't stand Will fowlel Okay, there's nothing about Will
- 41:18Speaker 3: foul And I know you and Shechrylyn told me in
- 41:21Speaker 3: this you would oversee it. You'd say, Okay, I can
- 41:24Speaker 3: tolerate him. Here. We are both not Will Ferrell Famas.
- 41:28Speaker 3: I can't stand anything about him. But he's not funny.
- 41:32Speaker 3: He was he was. I thought he was good in that. Yeah,
- 41:35Speaker 3: well I thought he was good. Maybe I'll give it
- 41:36Speaker 3: a shot. Jed and I have never seen it, so
- 41:39Speaker 3: maybe we'll try it. I'll see if he wants to
- 41:41Speaker 3: play it tonight, and we'll see how far we get
- 41:43Speaker 3: into it before we say. This is slapstick humor. I
- 41:46Speaker 3: don't love slapstick humor unless it's things like Benny Hill,
- 41:50Speaker 3: mister Beans, things like that, you know that kind of humor.
- 41:54Speaker 3: I love Monty Python things like that. But Will Fowrew No,
- 41:59Speaker 3: all right, I've got a long list here. Let's see.
- 42:04Speaker 4: White Christmas is right up there, Yes, Christmas Vacation, Elf,
- 42:09Speaker 4: Polar Express, Grinch with Jim Carrey. Look at these comments here,
- 42:18Speaker 4: papap it up. There's so many. Let's see.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Uh uh, you're trying to read what they say, Donna
- 42:28Speaker 3: say and white Christmas, White Christmas is. I don't even
- 42:31Speaker 3: know if Jed's seen that one with Bing Crosby. That
- 42:34Speaker 3: is shame on Jack. Yeah, and also The Bells of
- 42:37Speaker 3: Saint Mary.
- 42:38Speaker 4: I love that movie, The Bishop's Wife. Yes, what else,
- 42:44Speaker 4: let's see gotta love cousin Eddie Merry. Christmas Shitter was full,
- 42:50Speaker 4: which you wouldn't understand. You're going to though soon because
- 42:53Speaker 4: we're getting together. We're gonna watch that, uh favorite Christmas movie,
- 42:57Speaker 4: Scrooge Musical with Albert Finney.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Well, yeah, now there's a classic classic. That's the Scrooged
- 43:05Speaker 3: with with what's his name? What the hell is the
- 43:09Speaker 3: guy that? You know what I'm saying, Scrooged? Yes, yes,
- 43:14Speaker 3: with Bill Bill Bill Bill, what's his name? Oh my god,
- 43:18Speaker 3: my brain Bill Bill Murray, Yes, Bill Murray. Amazing hysterical movie.
- 43:26Speaker 3: Still still one of my faves, Charlyn says Santa Claus.
- 43:31Speaker 3: With Dudley Moore, let me tell you something, Dudley Moore
- 43:36Speaker 3: can do nothing wrong. I the man. When he passed away,
- 43:41Speaker 3: I was very sad because he is an iconic classic
- 43:46Speaker 3: in author all those movies. And yes, definitely, Cholene, I'm
- 43:50Speaker 3: one hundred percent with you. Why do I look like,
- 43:52Speaker 3: I'm like this little old man today, you look good.
- 43:56Speaker 3: I feel like I'm Muppets Christmas. No what, No, I
- 44:06Speaker 3: don't like anything cartoon at all to think. No, I
- 44:11Speaker 3: think the Muppets are well lovely for young children. Well
- 44:16Speaker 3: you really are Grinch, Yeah, Muppets. No, I don't like
- 44:20Speaker 3: any like I don't. The only cartoon I will ever, ever,
- 44:25Speaker 3: ever watch is the original Grinch. All right, but Farcy
- 44:30Speaker 3: the Snowman carry or the or the one with Jim Carrey.
- 44:33Speaker 3: But the cartoon version of the Grinch where they sing,
- 44:36Speaker 3: You're a mean one, mister Grinch and all that. But
- 44:39Speaker 3: I don't like cartoons. I don't like anime if it's
- 44:42Speaker 3: not tangible. I don't like really big fantasy movies because
- 44:46Speaker 3: I'm like, none of this would happen in real life.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Why am I wasting my time with this? Okay? And
- 44:51Speaker 3: then you'll say, well, the Grinch wouldn't happen in real life.
- 44:53Speaker 3: There's a lot of people out there that are the Grinch.
- 44:56Speaker 3: The Grinch isn't a character. He's a representation of of
- 45:00Speaker 3: negative people during the holidays, and how negative people can
- 45:04Speaker 3: still find a way to get a bigger heart when
- 45:09Speaker 3: they realize that there's more good in the world than bad. Okay,
- 45:14Speaker 3: And just because you had a lousy childhood or you
- 45:17Speaker 3: were treated poorly, get past that and look towards the positive.
- 45:22Speaker 3: Somebody passed away during the holidays, that's sad, and remember
- 45:26Speaker 3: them and love them, but look at all the positives.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Not that they passed on this day before Christmas or whatever,
- 45:33Speaker 3: but they warmed your life for so many years. So
- 45:36Speaker 3: you always look at the positives. And Christmas helps us
- 45:39Speaker 3: try to do that. And even the Grinch can be positive.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Now Crampist cannot be positive, which I love because I'm
- 45:48Speaker 3: very dark. I love that dark stuff.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Emitt Otter's junk band Christmas. But this is Glenn, Oh, Glenn, Stop,
- 45:59Speaker 4: what's he doing? Go eat an oreo or something or
- 46:02Speaker 4: a magic brownie.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Yeah. And then there's Jed, who will gladly watch never
- 46:09Speaker 3: Gonna never happen in my house, but would gladly watch
- 46:13Speaker 3: the Chipmunks Christmas and I won't allow it. I would
- 46:18Speaker 3: leave the house. No, I tell him, because it at
- 46:20Speaker 3: a hotel, I know, right, No, he has he has
- 46:23Speaker 3: three computer screens, and a lot of times he'll be
- 46:26Speaker 3: having something about woodworking on the third one. So that
- 46:29Speaker 3: when he's in a meeting or when he's trying to
- 46:31Speaker 3: concentrate on doing things for the network, he'll have the
- 46:34Speaker 3: movie in the background playing to help him concentrate. That's
- 46:38Speaker 3: a good time to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks for Christmas.
- 46:43Speaker 3: Don't watch it on my huge TV. Watch it on
- 46:46Speaker 3: your little monitor. Yeah, with headphones on.
- 46:50Speaker 4: Glenn's inviting you over at his house to watch it,
- 46:53Speaker 4: to watch why the h Emma Otters junk band Christmas?
- 46:57Speaker 3: All right?
- 46:58Speaker 4: Well, are you gonna serve good food? Oh my god,
- 47:01Speaker 4: look at these comments. Karna saying Scrooge nineteen eighty four
- 47:04Speaker 4: with George C.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Scott, very very classic. Yes, who said that? That was Karna? Yeah, Karina.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Karina is also saying Charlie Brown's Christmas No, nope, nope, nope, nope.
- 47:19Speaker 4: Isn't this amazing? You're going north Pole? South Pole in
- 47:21Speaker 4: like half a second here? Because I don't like cartoons, Okay,
- 47:25Speaker 4: I don't like it. Jedill watch the Avengers, He'll watch
- 47:28Speaker 4: the cartoon version. He collects comics. Well, I don't get
- 47:32Speaker 4: into any of that shit. It has been it's officially
- 47:37Speaker 4: been sixty years since a Charlie Brown Christmas debut. Yeah,
- 47:44Speaker 4: and it probably should be taken off. At this point,
- 47:46Speaker 4: half of all households with a TV on tuned into
- 47:52Speaker 4: CBS to watch it. I'm the other half. That was
- 47:54Speaker 4: fifteen million people on the other half. Ah buddy, yeah no,
- 48:01Speaker 4: that's a no brano for me. And that's me personally.
- 48:04Speaker 4: I don't like cartoons.
- 48:06Speaker 3: I never really did. Okay, so as I get older,
- 48:11Speaker 3: Jed'll be like, oh, there's a new such and such on.
- 48:14Speaker 3: I was like, what is that? He goes, well, it's
- 48:16Speaker 3: a cartoon. It's an anime. I'm like, no, thank you.
- 48:21Speaker 4: I'm just pulling up some facts here about Charlie Brown.
- 48:24Speaker 4: Christmas had a budget of seventy six thousand dollars from
- 48:29Speaker 4: CBS and who helped throw in some money to make
- 48:34Speaker 4: that happen. Oh, Coca Cola. Wow, Yeah, it's pretty cool.
- 48:41Speaker 4: That explains the quality of it.
- 48:43Speaker 3: Do you know?
- 48:43Speaker 4: Here here, I'll tell you right now, I love love
- 48:48Speaker 4: jazz music, but Vince Giraldi with the piano on the
- 48:53Speaker 4: Peanuts kind of drives me a little nuts. You think
- 48:57Speaker 4: it's a weird kind of a jazz yep yep.
- 49:00Speaker 3: I don't know. Because they made they took the jazz
- 49:03Speaker 3: and then they put a little something in for kids
- 49:06Speaker 3: to make it more appealing to the kid's ears. And
- 49:09Speaker 3: that's fine. I just I don't like I know the music.
- 49:12Speaker 3: I played the music in my head during the holidays,
- 49:15Speaker 3: but I will not watch it. And you know what
- 49:20Speaker 3: Christmas is here? Shares new song just came out. It
- 49:25Speaker 3: came out two days ago. How is it amazing? Of
- 49:27Speaker 3: course it's amazing because you love Sharon No, but it's
- 49:30Speaker 3: it's really I heard it the first time, I was like,
- 49:33Speaker 3: do I like it? And then I played a second time.
- 49:35Speaker 3: I was like, I do like it.
- 49:37Speaker 4: We're good morning, Massy. We're talking about Christmas movies that
- 49:41Speaker 4: we love and ones that.
- 49:43Speaker 3: We do hate. I said do not. You said hate? Hate?
- 49:47Speaker 4: Okay, it hates a strong word, but I'm okay with
- 49:50Speaker 4: you using that word. Cherylyn saying you're going to be
- 49:53Speaker 4: coming over and watching the Muffets with her. Want to bet, Charlyne,
- 49:58Speaker 4: you're gonna have to re really really give me a
- 50:01Speaker 4: gummy or two.
- 50:02Speaker 3: For that one.
- 50:03Speaker 4: Stacy's saying, don't you remember I'd like to teach the
- 50:06Speaker 4: world to sing.
- 50:07Speaker 3: I do remember that too.
- 50:09Speaker 4: I do forgot about that? Yeah, all right, so I'll
- 50:12Speaker 4: run down a list here. You tell me, yeah your nay? Okay, ready, yep.
- 50:17Speaker 4: A Christmas Carol Yay, nineteen fifty one, Mira Colon thirty fourth.
- 50:22Speaker 3: Absolutely a Classic.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Nineteen forty seven. Yeah, we say how old I am
- 50:28Speaker 4: from nineteen eighty three. A Christmas Story Yeah, nineteen ninety three,
- 50:35Speaker 4: Nightmare Before Christmas Nay, nineteen ninety Home Alone eh, nineteen
- 50:44Speaker 4: fifty four, White Christmas Yay, nineteen forty seven, The Bishop's
- 50:51Speaker 4: Wife Yay, nineteen eighty nine, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Yeay,
- 51:00Speaker 4: two thousand and three.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Love Actually nay. I hate Hallmark movies, the Christmas Hallmark.
- 51:14Speaker 4: Just in case anyone's wondering. Jet die Hard has a
- 51:20Speaker 4: IMDb score of eight point two. Just wanted to put
- 51:24Speaker 4: that out there.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Eight point two. What does that mean?
- 51:27Speaker 4: Where it lands? How good it is, how successful it
- 51:30Speaker 4: is out of what one hundred? I believe out of
- 51:33Speaker 4: ten it's not a Christmas month. Sorry, it's just that
- 51:38Speaker 4: that's what I have here. Okay, I'm googling it.
- 51:40Speaker 3: Great.
- 51:43Speaker 4: We've already had one hundred people drop comments here this morning.
- 51:47Speaker 4: Can you believe that? Well, you're popular of one hundred people.
- 51:52Speaker 4: We have some business to get to. We have a
- 51:55Speaker 4: dilemma here that that just came in a little. I
- 51:59Speaker 4: don't know if this is Is this a Christmas dilemma?
- 52:02Speaker 3: I don't know. I've never heard it all right here
- 52:04Speaker 3: it is people. You do know that I never ever
- 52:06Speaker 3: ever know what the dilemmas are before. He don't know,
- 52:09Speaker 3: and we never we should we don't talk about it.
- 52:11Speaker 3: We should also say.
- 52:14Speaker 4: We never reveal who it is that has written us
- 52:18Speaker 4: correct a dilemma, and we never script anything that we're
- 52:22Speaker 4: talking about.
- 52:24Speaker 3: I get a lot of messages, and this is one
- 52:29Speaker 3: of them.
- 52:29Speaker 4: Okay, for whatever reason, people want to know how she
- 52:34Speaker 4: feels about stuff because you're so direct direct.
- 52:39Speaker 3: But you know, I always give a positive and I
- 52:42Speaker 3: give my opinion two totally different opinions. Yeah, JD.
- 52:49Speaker 4: My husband and I attended a wedding this past fall
- 52:52Speaker 4: that is still somewhat haunting us. Our friends, the bride
- 52:57Speaker 4: and groom felt apparently that we were monopolizing their time.
- 53:04Speaker 4: My husband did have too much to drink, and he
- 53:10Speaker 4: did keep going up to them and joking around too
- 53:13Speaker 4: much with them, but it was obvious they were annoyed.
- 53:18Speaker 3: Okay, I can understand. Yeah, I mean, I mean, they've
- 53:23Speaker 3: got a lot of people to talk to. Correct.
- 53:25Speaker 4: You know, you don't want to take too much of
- 53:26Speaker 4: that money to collect, you know, don't don't don't be
- 53:32Speaker 4: offended if if it seems like they're ignoring.
- 53:35Speaker 3: You, right, especially in the crowd.
- 53:37Speaker 4: Yeah right, yeah, but when you when you have a
- 53:40Speaker 4: couple of drinks, you know, you kind of forget these things.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:43Speaker 4: They were also upset that a friend who we've known,
- 53:49Speaker 4: we've all known since high school, proposed to his girlfriend.
- 53:55Speaker 4: It was at the end of the night, but still
- 54:01Speaker 4: m h. They said a few weeks ago that they
- 54:05Speaker 4: felt that they were being upstaged. I mean, did they
- 54:12Speaker 4: grab the centerpiece on the way out? I made the
- 54:18Speaker 4: mistake of mentioning something to the bride that I felt
- 54:24Speaker 4: didn't go exactly as well as it could have. And
- 54:29Speaker 4: now she's upset about that too. Wow, this is okay,
- 54:42Speaker 4: this is a big one. Yeah, do you have do
- 54:45Speaker 4: you have anything here? I'm overwhelmed here. I mean, this
- 54:48Speaker 4: is like a Weddings are supposed to be bringing us together.
- 54:51Speaker 3: Not yeah, well, wedding. Weddings is a festive time that
- 54:54Speaker 3: was sharing somebody's luve where celebrating their love as a couple. Yeah,
- 55:00Speaker 3: I think that the bride, I understand it was her
- 55:04Speaker 3: day and she's entitled to her day and not being upstaged,
- 55:08Speaker 3: which I understand it. I just think it's a little petty.
- 55:13Speaker 3: But as far as somebody proposing at the end of
- 55:18Speaker 3: the wedding, she should look at that as her love
- 55:21Speaker 3: with her husband being celebrated, encouraged, or helped somebody else
- 55:26Speaker 3: put themselves and their lady in the position of getting
- 55:31Speaker 3: married because of all the love that they saw. So
- 55:34Speaker 3: the bride needs to kind of step on to the
- 55:36Speaker 3: side for that. But saying something that upset the bride
- 55:42Speaker 3: the only First of all, you can't control how somebody
- 55:45Speaker 3: reacts to you, especially to what you say. If you
- 55:49Speaker 3: said something and you can see the validity in their
- 55:53Speaker 3: upsetness or why they might get upset, I think the
- 55:58Speaker 3: adult thing to do is to either give them a
- 56:01Speaker 3: call or send a gift basket or something, letting them
- 56:06Speaker 3: know that your intentions was pure and that you in
- 56:09Speaker 3: no way meant to put them in a situation that
- 56:13Speaker 3: they would have to judge how they would feel about it.
- 56:16Speaker 3: So you say, hey, I'm really sorry that I said
- 56:19Speaker 3: that because clearly it upset you and that was not
- 56:23Speaker 3: my intention. Don't add the word, but because you all
- 56:26Speaker 3: know how I feel about the word. But after an
- 56:29Speaker 3: apology and negates it, so say to them, I'm sorry
- 56:32Speaker 3: that offended you and that you took it that way
- 56:35Speaker 3: I thought at the moment, however, I was incorrect. That's
- 56:40Speaker 3: how you handle that on the appropriate level. On the
- 56:42Speaker 3: inappropriate level, tell them to grow the fuck up. She
- 56:44Speaker 3: was a bride. She wasn't the king or the queen.
- 56:48Speaker 3: You know, She's one of two people. Both of them
- 56:50Speaker 3: get to celebrate their party. And when you invite a
- 56:53Speaker 3: bunch of friends over and family over to celebrate with you,
- 56:57Speaker 3: they're gonna have things to say and do and whatever. Okay,
- 57:01Speaker 3: So celebrate the moment for yourself and your husband, and
- 57:04Speaker 3: don't expect your your guests to act the way you
- 57:08Speaker 3: want them to one hundred percent of the time. If
- 57:10Speaker 3: you want a perfect wedding with nothing that upsets you,
- 57:13Speaker 3: invite no one.
- 57:14Speaker 4: Chuck just dropped a comment here. Sounds to me like
- 57:18Speaker 4: a bridezilla. Yes, wasn't It wasn't matter which way it
- 57:23Speaker 4: went down, she probably would have had something to complain
- 57:26Speaker 4: about anyway.
- 57:27Speaker 3: Yes, and that's true, and that's what I'm saying. She
- 57:29Speaker 3: thought she was the queen of the evening and you're
- 57:33Speaker 3: the bride, but you know what, you're only fifty percent
- 57:37Speaker 3: of the party. And that's what people They always say, Well,
- 57:40Speaker 3: the bride gets this, and the bride has the right
- 57:42Speaker 3: to bubh blah blah. And my attitude is when I
- 57:45Speaker 3: got married, I want equal time. Listen, I I no
- 57:54Speaker 3: one person is ever better than another person, whether you're
- 57:57Speaker 3: a bride, whether you're the pope, whether you're president, No
- 58:01Speaker 3: one person is better than another person.
- 58:04Speaker 4: I am on camera wearing this sweater in front of
- 58:09Speaker 4: a lot of people and saying the words I love
- 58:12Speaker 4: to watch Bridezilla with Sheryl.
- 58:15Speaker 3: I do too hysterical.
- 58:18Speaker 4: I gotta tell you though, during Bridezilla, these brides they
- 58:23Speaker 4: want to be the queen of England. They want one
- 58:28Speaker 4: hundred percent of the attention.
- 58:30Speaker 3: And I get it. But you're not okay, And I
- 58:34Speaker 3: get it. You want the perfect wedding. Guess what that
- 58:38Speaker 3: twenty thousand dollars wedding dress, that five thousand dollar cake,
- 58:42Speaker 3: that one hundred and fifty thousand dollars hole that you
- 58:46Speaker 3: rented with all the bah blah bah and YadA yadas. Yeah,
- 58:50Speaker 3: it's done in a couple of hours, five hours or less.
- 58:55Speaker 3: The party is over, So get a grip, So get
- 58:58Speaker 3: a grip. Greta Okay, And instead of being bridezillo, why
- 59:03Speaker 3: don't you be the gracious bride that thanks everybody for
- 59:06Speaker 3: coming and makes their rounds and talks to everybody. And
- 59:10Speaker 3: if somebody gets engaged at the party, you say, look
- 59:13Speaker 3: at that, our love inspired others. Yeah, now, get off
- 59:17Speaker 3: your high horns. Get Chuck ringing the bell. He's saying
- 59:20Speaker 3: ding ding right now. Yeah. Yeah, Well, Chuck's a level
- 59:26Speaker 3: headed person. He's weird, but he's a level headed person.
- 59:30Speaker 3: I'll give you that. Some of the memes that he
- 59:31Speaker 3: sends me, I'm like, oh my god. And then some
- 59:34Speaker 3: he sends me are so fricking hysterical. Yeah, but some
- 59:37Speaker 3: of them are rather concerning. Well, he's a concerning person
- 59:41Speaker 3: at times.
- 59:41Speaker 4: Don't ever ever play any video or anything that Chuck
- 59:48Speaker 4: sends you when you're in public, true that it wasn't serious.
- 59:53Speaker 3: I usually when he sends me something on a mountain public,
- 59:57Speaker 3: I'll hit play, but I have the volume so low
- 59:59Speaker 3: that I to put it by my ear, so that
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: nobody can hear it.
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: Same here he sent me something once that I opened
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: up and played with top volume. Where at the Montshire
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: Museum there were their kids around, hundreds of thousands. Yep, yep,
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: he's gonna he's gonna get me in a lot of
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: trouble one of these times.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: And does he care, not even a little bit, not
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: even Yeah, I mean, this is this is an interesting
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: dilemma this morning. And like I said, you know, the
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: appropriate answer is reach out to them, let them know
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: that you were in no way had any intentions of
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: hurting their feelings and that you're sorry for that. Yeah.
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: My opinion being fuck them. Yep. You know what I mean.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: When they don't get mad at me for something that
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: I did or didn't do, and they just cut me
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: off without even like sitting down to talk about it
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: or figure it out together.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Yeah, huh, fuck them. That's your choice. You choose to
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: be mean and not adult. Like, yeah, you know that's me.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: I have a Christian for you being such a grinchmeistress
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: you are are you planning to send holiday cards out
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: this year?
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Nope? Okay, now, as a matter of fact, we got
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: a holiday card. I've talked about this before. I absolutely
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: hate the printed cards with a picture on it, no handwriting, nothing,
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: It's just in a printed envelope with a printed card
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: saying Merry Christmas, not even from the so and so,
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: just Merry Christmas on a card with a picture of
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: your family, your grandkids, your everything. And I'm like, why
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: do I want to see that? So when I get
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: a card like that, I literally handed to Jed and said, here,
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: when you're done looking at it, you can put it
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: wherever you want to file it. Because it's not like
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: the old days. We talked about this, yeah, hanging cards
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: on ribbons and stuff like that. No, it's not like
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: that anymore. Everything's digital.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: Like I said, e cards, I'm gonna read something here
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: that I have to we have to talk about, okay,
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: and I know I'm shifting gears here. Yep, I'm gonna
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: read it. The camera's going to stay on. You will
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: get your facial reactions.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: Anytime you want to interrupt me, you go right ahead.
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: A new law went into effect in Australia yesterday that
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: bans all social media for kids fifteen and under. They're
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: the first country in the world to do it. It
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: includes age restrictions on all the major platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat,
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: and even YouTube. Over a million Facebook and Instagram accounts
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: disappeared overnight. Companies face Companies face steep fines if they
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: don't deactivate kids' accounts, and they have to take reasonable
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: steps to keep them from setting up new ones. The
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: law passed last November, so they've had a year to
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: figure it out. A poll found seventy seven percent of
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: Australians support the idea.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: I did.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: Fans think it'll get kids off their phones and encourage
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: them to hang out in person again. Yeah, other people
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: think that it's going to backfire and just leave them
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: less informed, less connected. Plenty of kids will also just
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: find ways around it, like convincing an adult to set
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: up an account. A writer for The Washington Post even
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: found a Reddit thread where kids talked about buying realistic
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: masks on TEAMU to fool the verification systems. They're going
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: full Mission impossible with it. Either way, anyone under sixteen,
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: I think you would probably agree, has never lived in
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: a world without social media, right, I.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: Agree with you. So it is a big deal for them,
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: and you know what good for them? For doing that.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Good good for them for curbing children under a certain
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: age from using social.
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: Now you're several countries that are countries that are all
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: sitting back going keep an eye on Australia and see
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: how this goes down.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: Well, because kids aren't social anymore. You know, even when
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: I go to a friend's house and they have kids,
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: and the kids aren't not your kid because your kid,
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: actually no, not when I come over. Your kid spends
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: a lot of time hanging out with us. But and
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: she's a kid and we're adults. But a lot of kids.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: When I go over to the house and I'm talking
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: to the kid, the kid is on his phone answering me, yeah, no,
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: I know what you mean. But their focus is down here. Yeah,
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: my eyes are up here. Yeah, okay. So I think
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: it's important that, Yes, social media is a good tool
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: for kids to get an education, to learn things. They
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: can look up things history and stuff like that, but
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: it's a good way for them to stay out of
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: those things and more social.
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: They can connect so much that they're disconnecting from what's
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: right in front right.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: And let's be honest, there's a lot of scary stuff
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: out there that kids should not be connecting. That's a
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: whole thing. Okay, yes, you can go on there. I
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: think kids are allowed to go on there to do
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: their homework because they can find ways, or if they're
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: doing a history project, they can look up stuff up
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: for history, and they can do that with their parents,
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: because I remember when computers first started coming out, I
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: had to do it with somebody. Okay, yeah, right, I
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: remember that too. And before that, guess what, there was
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: the encyclopedia, the whole all of them, from A to
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: Z books. Sure that when I needed to study something
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: for school, I had to look in the encyclopedia and
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: read about it, right, Okay, So I think it's important
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: that kids that we don't make them computer robots, because
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: right now you see kids walking down the street and
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: looking down instead of where they're walking. You're asking people
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: to do. What you're asking adults to do is parent.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: Yeah, the word parent is. It's a noun, but it's
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: also a verb. And the biggest part not easy. You
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: need to self police.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: Well, that's it. The biggest part of being a parent
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: is first giving love, but also monitoring. You have to
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: monitor what.
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: They These parents are too wrapped up in their own
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: God damn face book and there.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: Their head deep into their own ship. Yes, I agree. Meanwhile, meanwhile,
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: you wouldn't let your kid go in the kitchen and
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: turn the stove on and put their hand on the stove,
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: I would hope, because you're monitoring them. This is the
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: same thing. This can be just as harmful or just
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: as useful. There are useful reasons for the Internet. But honestly,
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: I think kids need to get out and play in
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: the snow. Kids need to go bike riding more, not
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: not e biking and stuff like that. Get on a
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: bike and pedal there you go, walk the bike up
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: a hill. If you can't go up the hill, all right,
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: climb a tree. Climb a tree, say hello to people.
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: You know what you used to do on days like
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: yesterday if there was no school, go outside and play.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: My father would say to me, get out to my
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: brother and I get the snow shovele yep, and go
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: down the street and make some money. You know, mister
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: so and so and missus so and so, they're older, yep,
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: go down there and shovel their driveway and their walkway.
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: If they want to give you five bucks, that's up
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: to them. Say thank you. Graciously. Yep. But you're not
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: there to make money. To make money, correct, Just get
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: out of the house, right, be a decent person. I understand.
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: You know not how many times that was in the eighties.
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: It was in the early eighties. Man, there wasn't any
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: cell phones in social media, and.
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: I understand that. But you know how many times I've
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: driven by parks and these young kids aren't on the
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: swings or whatever. They're all sitting in the park on
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: their phone, and it's like, are you kidding me? You're
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: at the park? Chuck says, we managed just fine before technology.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: These kids will be okay.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: Australia's Primate agrees and supports this law, calls it one
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: of the biggest social media one of the biggest social
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: and cultural changes that they've ever faced.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: In the country. Yep, I agree, one hundred percent.
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: But meanwhile, we've got fourteen year olds walking around saying, well.
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: Why not be in air in water? Yeah, because you
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: know what, that's their lifeline. That new generation is stupid.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: They are so much I'm educated for the real world.
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: They live in their phone.
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: I understand, but here's let me just I'm just going
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: to push back, just a tiny little bit okay, just
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: a little bit a pinch, uh huh. Lily is able
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: to stay connected with some of her friends on a
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: day like yesterday or whatever. If she's sick, she's at home,
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: she's got the flu, whatever, or it's a bad snowstorm,
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: she is able to stay connected and it fills her
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: heart and she's connection is so important and if the
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: technology is there, let's use it. It's important. But we
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: have limitations on screen time. At some point, Sherilyn and
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: I say, she's been chatting with so and so long enough,
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: it's time to shut the thing off and come into
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: the family. Come into the kitchen, because we as a
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: family right now are going to start making cookies, right, okay, right.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: Old schl Me says now, Or when I was sick
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: at home, I didn't go on anything to talk to
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: my friends or whatever. I was sick and I was home.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: But when that was a long time ago that I
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: don't care. Just because something worked doesn't mean you have
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: to change it, okay. And my attitude is when there
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: was a snow day, I met my friends outside to play. Okay,
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: it was as simple as that. And if I was sick,
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: I was sick. That man get into your goddamn bed
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: and get better so you can get back to school
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: and hopefully get an education, because in my day there
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: was an education. Now it's let me teach you how
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: to use a computer and look up things and bubba,
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: which to me is not an education. But honestly, I
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: would go back to the old days in a heartbeat.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: I remember the days when there was no cell phones,
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: no computers. TVs were black and white, and the color
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: came out and we were like, ooh, color TVs and
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: things like that. Hang on it.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: When you were sick, you were just laying there staring
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: at the wall. You were watching TV. Orse, now you're
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: reading a book. Will we either you read a book
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: or you go to sleep. Would your mom let you
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: watch TV when you're snoop, Nope.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: We had no TV in our room. There was no
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: TV in my bedroom. There was a TV in my
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: mother's room, and there was a TV downstairs in the
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: family room. And if you were sick, you are not
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: going downstairs into the family room getting everybody else set.
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: Oh god, Karina is just wrer parents used to do
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: the same thing when you were on the old school
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: telephone limitations.
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: Oh absolutely, I'd be on the phone talking to I'd
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: be on the phone talking to my best friend and
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: we'd be chatting, and my mother would come in and say,
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: times up same here? And why was times up same here?
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: Because that was the only form of communication. And what
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: if my aunt was trying to call my mother she
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: couldn't get you to she'd get a busy signal, which
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: kids don't even know it that an okay, so we
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: were limited. I know I could talk to a friend
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: later at night because nobody calls your house after eight o'clock.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: That was the rule. Also, do not call the house
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: after eight o'clock. Okay. So now eleven o'clock at night,
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: I'm in bed and I hear my phone ding, and
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: I look down and there's JD sending me a message.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: I'm like, are you fucking kidding me right now? Or
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: Chuck sending you something really inappropriate? And I'm like, it's
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: eleven o'clock at night, stop texting me, Chuck, thank you.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: I like the way you diverted away from you. No. No,
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: because I can literally pull on my phone right now.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: How many times you have called me after ten or
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: left a message or something.
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: Chuck says, technology is great and it can be very rewarding,
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: but there's too many bad people out there and it
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: has to be supervised. Sorry, parents, you have to supervise
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: your kids. Don't expect someone else.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: To do it for you.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: That's a belt. Absolutely. The bottom line is you became
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: a parent. Here's another funny one. When people become parents
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: and they're horrible at it and DCF takes those kids
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: from you because you're a horrible parent, and then you
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: get pregnant again. Come on, now, you're going down a hole, right.
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: But what I'm saying is if you can't take care
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: of your child, you shouldn't be having children. If it's
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: more important for you to be on your phone. And
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: the kid comes home and says mommy or daddy, Mommy, daddy,
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: look it bub bub And you're like, oh, that's nice, sweetie.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Go over there. Mommy's busy right now, or daddy's busy
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: right now. What are you busy doing shopping on Facebook?
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: Come on, people? Yeah, I'm with you man. You know.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: I was sitting there watching TV the other night and
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: I was watching Jed and I was watching my brother
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: and they were both on their phones, yeah, looking at
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: their phone. And I said to Jed, you're not even
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: watching the movie. No, I'm watching are you. When we
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: watched the movie, you sat down and watched the movie,
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: and when there was pause, you were happy for the
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: pause button because you can go to the bathroom and
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: get something to snack on. But now people watch a
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: movie and or on their phone at the same time. Yeah,
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: it's And then I'm like, I don't really want to
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: see this movie. Jed's like, well, I've been winning, all right,
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: let's watch it. And then I watch him on his
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: phone looking at cat videos, and I'm like, what the
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: F Why am I watching this horrible movie? Because you
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: want to see it, but you're not really seeing well,
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: I'm multitasking. Come on, people. Jet watches cat videos. Oh
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: my god, he loves those crazy cat videos of cats
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: doing funky things.
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: Jet was probably listening to the movie but googling how
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: to repair a chimney.
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: Probably let's not even talk about repairing a chimney. You know,
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: you hit a nerve there, I know it did.
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: I purposely was waiting for the opportunity two years. So
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: there's the We're gonna trust me. We have all of
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: January to go down that road. Oh, we're gonna go
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: down that road. You are gonna go down that road
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: January and February. Two years.
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: I have a fireplace that's so huge that when you
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: light a fire and it warms up the whole house.
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: And here's Jed thinking that the only fight he's gonna
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: is the die hard fight. No wrongo, don go.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: Two years, I haven't been able to use that fireplace
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: because up on top when it rains, something the mortar
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: or something up there is cracked, and it rains and
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: it gets wet in my fireplace. And I told them
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: I'm not going to start a fire until I know
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: that the fireplace is secure.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: Don't reveal too much. We're gonna once we get into January,
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: you know we're gonna eat him for breakfast the cold month.
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: A lot of a lot of us love to have
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: working fireplaces. I'm gonna come to your house. The latest
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: TikTok trend is grinch spaghetti.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: It's just food coloring, right, It's yeah, yeah, I could.
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: I could deal with food colorings. It looks weird, but
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: I would do it. What do you I guess you
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: would cook it in a butter sauce.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: Uh, well, you you use food coloring to dye the
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: water that you boil this spaghetti. Oh okay, yeah yeah,
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: let me that makes the noodles themselves are bright green. Yeah,
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: but then you would have to probably do a butter
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: sauce or some kind of a pistol.
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: You could get a pasta, because then you're talking about
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: oh yeah, you could do green yeah, pesto, or you
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: can do a nice butter sauce or pure some broccoli.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: Just a thought as a as a well actually, actually,
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: let's talk about that for a minute. If you took
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: broccoli and you purade it, and you well, first you
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: cook it and when you're cooking, you cook it in seasonings.
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: Then you pureae it and you add the pasta water,
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: which is liquid gold to the Italians. Okay, the pasta
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: water which has the starch and stuff into the broccoli
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: that's seasoned, and then you put it over your pasta.
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: I'll bet you that would be delicious. I'm gonna do that.
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: Look at your monitor right there there, it is TikTok. Yeah,
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: green spaghetti for dinner.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: Yeah, why not? I think it's a great idea. I'm
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: not a TikTok fan. I know Chuck is because he
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: always sends me stuff, and I'm like, Chuck, I can't
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: open it because I don't have that.
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: And here's here's Chuck getting unbelievably inappropriate saying cannabis is screen.
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: Why would somebody say that, are you kidding? Put cannabis
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: in your pasta? That would be yummy, Chuck would, And
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: afterwards you'd be ooh, maybe I'll put some in some
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: of the food for the party and not tell anybody. Well,
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: that's not appropriate though, yeah, don't do that, but it's funny.
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: Could you imagine me getting everybody completely stoned at my house?
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: I can't. Meanwhile, Jed's gonna make a punch. Nobody knows
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: what's in the punch because Jed's making it. I even
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: bought a beautiful punch to Canter for this party and
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: he's putting his punch in that. So drink away, you, alkis.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: I'm not an alcoholic. I don't drink. So although every
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: time we go out, every time we go out, you're like, gee,
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: when we all go out, the all of us, gee, yeah,
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: look at that tavern. You'll want to go get it, drink,
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: let's have it. And I'm like, JD, I don't drink.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: Oh that's right, And five minutes later, Oh, let's go
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: over there. That bet youa g They have good margaritas.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't drink. Oh that's right. It's like, really,
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: I keep forgetting.
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: You don't support me this whole and we you and
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: I haven't had a chance to do the whole six
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: seventh thing. Oh my god, I'm not sure what this
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: is all about. Lily is like freaking out about it.
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: Her whole school is everyone's freaking out about the whole
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: six seventh thing. And it means nothing. You have to
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: do this when you say six Yeah, but it means nothing.
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: I know, I know I've done I've done a little
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: bit of homework about it. I have found out some facts.
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: We're going to talk about this on another Thursday. Yeah,
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: we're going to open up a huge cann We'll pass
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: on this whole six seventh thing.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: But and they think it's cute, it's funny. It's like
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: you know, the the burger chain in and out Yep, Okay,
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: it's on the West coast more. Yes, yes, they.
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: Have just this is in the news. This is kind
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: of this is stuff that's making the news. Yeah, they
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: have just yanked the number six to seven from their
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: order lineup. Good for them, because teenagers, Gee, I'm not
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: making this up. I know.
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: That's what's sad.
- 1:20:35Speaker 4: Teenagers are hanging out in the dining room area now
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: waiting for order sixty seven to be called. Oh my god,
- 1:20:48Speaker 4: in and out. They're out of In and Out Burger.
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: They're out of California based.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 1:20:55Speaker 4: They've eliminated the number sixty seven to avoid this is
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: in their press release Yep. Mass hysteria, yep, yep.
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: Because with everything going on in the world that these
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: kids should be learning about and learning how to deal with,
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: they decide six seven is so much more important than
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: the things they really should be focused on in life.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: Nobody knows what the six seven is about.
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: It means nothing. I've spoken to kids and they're like,
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: it's nothing. It's just two numbers.
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: Some people don't know. And then other kids like Lily impressionable, Yeah,
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: make up, yeah, make up?
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: What reason?
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: What?
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: What?
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: What?
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: What it means? Yeah? I said to Lily, what does
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: it mean? She's like, it's when you want to kiss someone? What.
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: So I'm like, so, what do you mean? Do you say, hey, uh,
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: I want to six seven? You want to six seven
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: because they used to be sixty nine. That's my bad. Yeah,
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: that's a whole different number, a whole different podcast. I
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: just I don't know.
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: It's like, did you know the dictionary dot com just
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: made it their word of the year. Wow, how freaking.
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: Well the Dictionary has added really stupid things in there.
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: There's words that are in there now that I'm like,
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: you know, there's certain things that should be cherished. The Dictionary,
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: with all the plethora of words, were real words. When
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: I was growing up, the dictionary was thick and there
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: were real words in there. Now you go through the
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: dictionary and somebody says something, you're like, that's not even
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: a word. Look it up and you look it up
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: and you're like, wow, haufflucknick is a word? Now what
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: does it mean? And oh?
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: It means when somebody sneezes but holds it in. Now
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: it's called enough flucknick, Shut up, stop making up. Just
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: like kids now, they don't even finish. They don't even
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: finish words. Oh no, diff, no diff, Oh that's delish.
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: Fabs. You know nobody says anything. Abs Abs means absolutely what? No,
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: It's like, how fucking lazy can we get buddy, And
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: it's all coming from the kids, them making this ship up,
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: and the dictionary saying, well, we want to respect kids
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: too as much as adults. So if they made that
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: word up, let's put that in the dictionary. I hear
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: it in my own house. Oh my god, whatever, whatever
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: is it take that much to say? Er? I know?
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I also know that you and I are sound
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: a little old right now, apparently, But I agree man,
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: striving me nuts.
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: You know a lot of times when I was growing up,
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: the old people, because we had our own quirks while
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: we were kids too, but the old people would would
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: almost be insulted that the generation that they grew up
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: in has become this obscure weirdness, and now we are
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: those people. But respect people over a certain age too,
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: and talk to them like they like they don't understand
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: those words, talk to them like people.
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: Yeah, look at these comments from Chuck, who works at
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: one of our local schools, right saying, he says, please
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: don't bring it up. I have to hear about it
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: every day at school. Please sure, please please stop now?
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: Oh shut up, Chuck, He says, yesterday was our sixty
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: seventh school day. Oh my god, it was awful. This
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: is a prime example on how easily the internet brainwashes
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: our children. Exactly funny now, but there's a bigger issue here. Absolutely,
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: you know, it's even scarier. These kids will be adults
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: running the world. Yeah, I'm going to show you and
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: everyone something right now that is going to do you
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: realize kids can go online and learn how to make
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: a bomb? Yes, I mean this is monitor your kid.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: This is going to scare you. Are you do you
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: have your monitor? Can you see? I can say? You
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: ready for this? Watch this?
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: Why are you okay?
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: Oh my god? You know, some people would argue that, oh,
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: you know, look, it's harmless and the kids are having fun.
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: I get that, but really, really to the point that
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: it becomes almost cult work, And that's my issue is
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: that I'm excited about something we don't even know what
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: it is. Yeah, And my issue has always been when
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: something becomes cult like to impressionable kids, and that to me, yeah,
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: you can say, gee, back off, come on, the kids
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: are having a good time, it's okay, blah blah blah.
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: But it's cult like when it takes a bunch of
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: kids who have no idea what they're celebrating. Yeah, none
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: at all. They don't know if it means something bad, good, whatever,
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: and they all drink the fool aid. Yeah, And I'm like,
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: that's that's the concerning part. That's the concerning pot is
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: something like that.
- 1:27:07Speaker 4: I mean, even Lily says to me, She's like, hey, Dad,
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: I said something the other day to Sherlyn Butt, like
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: we've got sixty seven miles to go or or uh
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: you know, yeah whatever the Breshery bill was sixty seven
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: bucks or whatever.
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: And they don't miss those numbers.
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: No.
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: She was there, she was at the house with a
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: friend and she's.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: Like, oh my god, he just said six seven.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: And I'm like, what what what? What what? She's like,
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: you know, Dad, you know six seven? And I'm like,
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: what is what is the hands? What does this mean?
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: It's just like maybe it's like maybe it's like what
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: we used to say, is adult six or one half
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: dozen of the other. Maybe it's like that with six
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: or seven, you know whatever. It's either yes or no,
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: six seven, who knows. That's how I would take it.
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: But then just say yes or no. Do you have
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: to give numbers to it. It's bad enough we gave
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: peeing and pooping a one in two. Now we've got
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: six and sevens what happened to three and four? You
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: know what I'm gonna do? Start at three and four adults.
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna if Chrylyn lets me, I'm gonna
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: stick a microphone in Lily's face tonight, and I'm gonna say,
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: define what this is all about?
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: What is six to seven? I could see if it
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: was a guard, I would consider that. Maybe them saying
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: either or you know, I don't know, Hey, we can
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: go here, we can go there? Six seven either or Okay,
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: give it a meaning. Agree, If you're gonna put it
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: in the dictionary and you're gonna make kids say it
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: all the time because it's fun, give it a meaning. Yeah.
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: You know. When I was a kid, we had this
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: club at Saint Patrick's School and the club was called
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: the Chud Club c HUD, and people were like, what
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: the hell, But it had a meaning. It was after
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: we saw the movie Chud, which was cannibalistic humanoid underground dwellers. Okay,
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: so we made a club and it was called the Chud.
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: Now these kids have the six seven Club and they
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: don't even know what it means.
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: Geez, Glenis asked his thirteen year old Grinson the other
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: day what it means, and he just grinned and said,
- 1:29:42Speaker 4: I don't know. Yeah, yeah, Stacy's saying punch buggy. I mean,
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: here we go.
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: Yeah. See, everybody will make something up to give it
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: a meaning. I know. And if you don't have a
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: meaning for something, you shouldn't be saying it.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: Maybe it's conceitum sa, you know, like the Italians consecra sa.
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: So maybe it's a six seven.
- 1:30:07Speaker 4: Who Maybe we should make up our own little I said,
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: let's do it. Three and four one in two is
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: poop and pass six seven is nothing. Let's give three
- 1:30:17Speaker 4: and four an identity. And then when you go home
- 1:30:20Speaker 4: you can look at Lily and say three four. She'll
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: be like, what does that mean? And you can give
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: her an answer and then say, so, what does six
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: to seven mean?
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what three and
- 1:30:32Speaker 4: four means. If you tell me what six seven means exactly,
- 1:30:36Speaker 4: all right, I'm gonna do that. Adults do that to
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: your kids, all right. Don't tell them what it means.
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: Just make up a meaning, like I would say three
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: and four is yes or no. That's what I would say.
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: Crystal says, six eight seven. Now that's too much work. Crystal,
- 1:30:52Speaker 4: stop it. You're out of control. Now she is totally
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: out of because she's out of.
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: Control, I know, keep it, keep it real. Take a
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: number like three and four means yes or no, yay
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: or nay, yeah, and then say to your kid when
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: they come home, yeah, a three and four.
- 1:31:10Speaker 4: Taylor says, I think it's a filler, so it can
- 1:31:13Speaker 4: mean whatever they wanted to mean in that moment. Hence
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: why every kid says it means something different.
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: Well yeah, well yeah, but that's ridiculous because when they
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: say it, I don't know what they're trying to say.
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: Lily thinks it means kissing. Hey, you want to six seven? Now?
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: If she turns around and says to Daddy, yeah, I'm
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: gonna six seven tomorrow and he says what does that mean?
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: And she doesn't tell him. Meanwhile, in her head, Daddy's like, okay,
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: so you just gave her permission to kiss.
- 1:31:42Speaker 4: Oh my god, I mean come on, three four, three four,
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: as Stacy says so beautifully. One two buckle my shoe.
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, well three four shut the.
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: Door shut, the door. Five pick up sticks, okay, six
- 1:32:02Speaker 4: seven and eight lay them straight.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: So pick up the sticks and lay them straight. Ninety seven,
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: nine ten, do it again. See I never knew what
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: any of that meant. Well you do now, I mean
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: I knew it, but I didn't know it. But do
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: you know I know now what six seven means. Yeah,
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: pick up the sticks and lay them straight. Thanks for
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: coming in, buddy. Always, I love you. Just remember the
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: Grinch Are people too, Yes, they are, so you better
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: freaking love the Grinch.
- 1:32:36Speaker 4: Be careful out there. You could see this man in
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: public and people have yeah, and they're like, oh are
- 1:32:44Speaker 4: you that guy?
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: I love that? Are you the guy with the nails? Yeah?
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: And then I look down and.
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: I go, uh no, really show the nails. Crystal wants
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: to see him up nice and close. Here we go, beautiful.
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: Ye have a fabulous rest of you day. Yes, enjoy
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: this bomby weather folks. It'll be here for the next
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: six months. Seriously, though, Look how beautiful it is outside
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: right now. Yeah, it's winter one day, come on, come on,
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: love it, heat it Look at yo. Look look who
