- 0:00Speaker 1: Space. You used it in the wrong episode. Man, that's okay.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I have already been gifted an episode uh song
- 0:27Speaker 2: for this one.
- 0:30Speaker 3: But what's going on? Everybody?
- 0:32Speaker 2: I am the one the only w o okay. I
- 0:34Speaker 2: you joined by one misfit short of a happy meal.
- 0:38Speaker 2: We actually that's not a regular basis thing. But we
- 0:42Speaker 2: have the e Walkyist of e Walksy Walk Jr.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Hello Key for community, glad to be our sane full
- 0:50Speaker 1: twenty four pack of Chicken Nuggies.
- 0:52Speaker 2: He'll be around eventually. I account for about twenty of
- 0:54Speaker 2: those chicken nuggies. But and we have our resident PhD
- 0:59Speaker 2: doctor m Sheep.
- 1:01Speaker 4: I think we're more like the one dollar four pack
- 1:04Speaker 4: at Burger Keg.
- 1:07Speaker 2: It's possible, but we're skipping all this stuff. I know
- 1:11Speaker 2: you put a lot of hard work into it. I'm
- 1:13Speaker 2: going to give you a brief intro Nico's next weekend.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Either you're going or you're not. Who won abr Is
- 1:19Speaker 2: it over yet?
- 1:20Speaker 4: Nope?
- 1:21Speaker 2: So nobody cares to square in the all right, it's
- 1:25Speaker 2: rigged yay. Discovery releases tomorrow.
- 1:31Speaker 4: There are a few pictures on the Internet of people
- 1:34Speaker 4: with Discovery stuff, so it is going.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Out by the time I released that, by the time
- 1:39Speaker 2: you listen to this, discovery will be out, but you
- 1:42Speaker 2: will have none because nobody knows about it.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Well no, no, there's a number of people in the
- 1:48Speaker 1: community who will know about it, and that's because they're excited.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It's just is Gigi going to tell anyone about it?
- 1:55Speaker 1: And that answer is we'll get to that when we
- 1:58Speaker 1: get to our well is it bottom eight bottom ten
- 2:02Speaker 1: worst things of twenty twenty five for this year? I
- 2:05Speaker 1: mean it's the same thing, right, you know what we're
- 2:08Speaker 1: gonna bitch about. Let's just scare on the list and.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Dead things for twenty twenty five.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, yeah, yeah, we have well, we have eight.
- 2:14Speaker 1: We're in twenty twenty four.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I'm sorry, twenty twenty four, twenty twenty five. We expect
- 2:19Speaker 2: more of the same. But uh no, marketing is no article,
- 2:25Speaker 2: no nothing. If you know, you know, I'm winking at
- 2:29Speaker 2: all of you. You can't see it, wink.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Come on gg do better?
- 2:33Speaker 2: Like, seriously, I feel I see dev Dev in the
- 2:39Speaker 2: audience now. I want to play smash or Past with
- 2:41Speaker 2: dev Dev and explain to him why Tupac would smash.
- 2:46Speaker 2: But let's get into the bottom eight things for key
- 2:48Speaker 2: Forge twenty twenty four number eight. This one you're gonna
- 2:54Speaker 2: have to explain to me, doctor Sheep. It is Tokens
- 2:57Speaker 2: of Change. Yeah, that set. It is on my list
- 3:04Speaker 2: of things I don't like from last year.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Great.
- 3:09Speaker 4: It feels so on balanced. It's not a very good
- 3:15Speaker 4: experience to play with generally, and it's just it doesn't
- 3:24Speaker 4: add good things to the competitive scene in my opinion.
- 3:27Speaker 4: It adds a lot of it added stuff and all
- 3:30Speaker 4: the tokens to the new houses at cool. But at
- 3:34Speaker 4: the same time like that set does not feel like
- 3:37Speaker 4: it was ready for release.
- 3:41Speaker 2: And that there's me who wholeheartedly disagrees with Sheep. Bring
- 3:44Speaker 2: on the degeneracy. I like degenerate stuff, so kind of
- 3:52Speaker 2: plays with our next ZO point seven right, which is
- 3:56Speaker 2: the watch me play scenarios, I think, and I think
- 4:01Speaker 2: you're mainly pointing this at grimm reminders.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Am I incorrect? At that?
- 4:08Speaker 2: Still you after sheet? I think this will as me, Oh,
- 4:12Speaker 2: this one I figured was you. It must have been
- 4:17Speaker 2: draz Cor who's not here.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I will say that we are seeing a higher occurrence.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I know this is Drascorp's baby, So you can talk
- 4:25Speaker 1: a little bit more about it. But when we're talking
- 4:28Speaker 1: card balance for the new sets, there definitely seems to
- 4:31Speaker 1: be a large discrepancy that we're seeing with GG created
- 4:36Speaker 1: sets versus previous FFG sets. I will also say a
- 4:42Speaker 1: subtopic here would be the amount of cards per set
- 4:46Speaker 1: with a decrease you have seen. I don't know. Some
- 4:51Speaker 1: of the lows are really really bad on some of
- 4:53Speaker 1: the decks, and some of the highs are really really high.
- 4:57Speaker 1: So I don't know, Wikie. I know you enjoy that
- 4:59Speaker 1: sort of thing, but as a whole, I don't think
- 5:01Speaker 1: that it's good game design, and I think it's problematic
- 5:03Speaker 1: for our game.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Well, I think the main thing we have to focus
- 5:06Speaker 2: on here is what who is the market?
- 5:10Speaker 3: Who's your market? Is it kitchen table players or is
- 5:15Speaker 3: it competitive players?
- 5:18Speaker 1: Well, for us, we want to talk as competitive players.
- 5:20Speaker 1: That's what the whole point of the cast is. But
- 5:22Speaker 1: I think that they have really narrowed in that it
- 5:25Speaker 1: is your kitchen table players. That that's what I'm.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Seeing, That's that's what they want to market to. So
- 5:33Speaker 2: I mean with more sets, like I mean, I'm sorry,
- 5:37Speaker 2: Actually you know what, I'm not sorry, Amber Sky's Doo doo.
- 5:41Speaker 3: It's bad. They're nothing good about it. Horrid.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I agree on that, but you can disagree all you
- 5:48Speaker 2: want until it would until it does something I'm not
- 5:53Speaker 2: I'm not holding my breath.
- 5:55Speaker 1: It took the open for Arcan.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it took the open for Arcan. I mean even
- 6:00Speaker 2: a blind find as a kernel of corner ry.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Now and again, DT didn't do that required for alliance.
- 6:09Speaker 2: DT is a special animal we put in the corner
- 6:12Speaker 2: and don't you know that child? We all don't talk about.
- 6:14Speaker 2: That's DT.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Can I say the same for AOA.
- 6:21Speaker 3: We talk about AOA, but not in a good way.
- 6:23Speaker 4: That the Amber Skies has not been out nearly long
- 6:26Speaker 4: enough to do anything.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Yeah, And I will argue if you actually look at
- 6:32Speaker 1: what some of the Amber Sky's decks have, I think
- 6:35Speaker 1: there's a I think there is. There are a number
- 6:38Speaker 1: of decks that have a lot of potential that have leans,
- 6:42Speaker 1: and I think that you're going to see them being played.
- 6:44Speaker 4: I think what he just hasn't experienced, uh, the degeneracy
- 6:48Speaker 4: that comes out of that set. Yes, And it's it's
- 6:52Speaker 4: like tokens have change and like if you don't get
- 6:55Speaker 4: typically like one of the two things that makes it good,
- 6:58Speaker 4: you get a bunch of junk.
- 7:00Speaker 1: And so that really comes back when I'm saying, you know,
- 7:03Speaker 1: card balance, just make sure that there is a balance
- 7:06Speaker 1: to the sets where they've play tested. Like, I don't know,
- 7:10Speaker 1: there's just some real concerns. I know, devdev here. I
- 7:13Speaker 1: like the idea from a previous episode that you talked
- 7:15Speaker 1: about with having kind of that hierarchy of you know,
- 7:19Speaker 1: three main components, so two that represent the base for
- 7:22Speaker 1: each house and one representing kind of what the theme
- 7:25Speaker 1: is for the sets in that individual house. And I
- 7:29Speaker 1: think that's honestly missing. I think that we need to
- 7:31Speaker 1: have something that's a little bit more substantial. And maybe
- 7:36Speaker 1: the question is is it because there's so many sets
- 7:38Speaker 1: that are coming out that we're pushed in a very
- 7:42Speaker 1: very short period of time.
- 7:44Speaker 2: No, there's there's too many bad card designs, right, there
- 7:48Speaker 2: are just too many cards with a short With a
- 7:50Speaker 2: smaller set, you don't have as much room for bad cards,
- 7:58Speaker 2: and there are a lot of cards that do absolutely nothing.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Bad cards are definitely more impactful. It's really the truth, though,
- 8:07Speaker 4: is that good cards are even higher impactful because you
- 8:11Speaker 4: get more copies of them. Possibly discrepancy in decks is big.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I mean, you got I mean, I don't know. I
- 8:23Speaker 2: I see Morgan in the audience. Ember Skies has the
- 8:27Speaker 2: highest ceiling. It's okay, you can be wrong.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I don't think I don't think that.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I don't.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I mean, I've been gone for a little while, but like,
- 8:39Speaker 2: where is this degeneracy anyone's talking about? It enhanced a
- 8:45Speaker 2: couple of artifacts and pip enhanced corner the markets.
- 8:49Speaker 4: They're ridiculous.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yeah, So if you get like one thing.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You're looking at for any competitive deck is that it's
- 8:57Speaker 1: such a high niche point two percent, Like you're not
- 9:02Speaker 1: talking every standardized deck that's coming out.
- 9:05Speaker 3: See.
- 9:05Speaker 2: But that was the fun thing about the last set
- 9:11Speaker 2: is that there was a lot that could make things
- 9:15Speaker 2: broken and busted, and you had an opportunity. Now we're
- 9:18Speaker 2: back to, well, maybe you get a good deck, maybe
- 9:20Speaker 2: you probably don't.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Yeah. GR definitely had a few more options for making
- 9:27Speaker 4: things than some of the current sets do.
- 9:29Speaker 3: It was extraordinarily more exciting.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I mean it's yeah, I mean, I think GR is
- 9:44Speaker 4: on average more powerful.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I was more excited and still more excited to open
- 9:48Speaker 2: a GR deck than I have will ever be to
- 9:51Speaker 2: open an ember Sky's deck.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Hey, guys, so you can keep buying it.
- 9:59Speaker 3: I do care to the rant are we ah we
- 10:02Speaker 3: well we we're kind of bumping around here.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, let's give it. Let's give the quick summary,
- 10:08Speaker 1: free dress, Hello, dres, welcome, Hey guys, what's going? And
- 10:13Speaker 1: uh then Wookie like skipped all the top going through
- 10:17Speaker 1: a very very brief, breeded, abbreviated piece. We had talked
- 10:21Speaker 1: like you normally do. Uh No, he just kept running.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Sheep had tokens of change. I does not like that.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And Wookie, uh, watch me play scenarios? That was we
- 10:34Speaker 1: had hypothesize that was you from I did talk us,
- 10:38Speaker 1: talk us through, watch me play scenarios? Why did you have?
- 10:40Speaker 3: Yeah? So so I so. The reason I put watch
- 10:44Speaker 3: me play scenarios is because, all right, sometimes I hear
- 10:47Speaker 3: folks complain about g R or one of the newer sets,
- 10:53Speaker 3: about how it was just too strong, And I don't
- 10:58Speaker 3: think that is the right complaint in my personal opinion.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Right now, you know, you know you got where we're
- 11:05Speaker 3: pretty you want if it's wrong. But in my mind,
- 11:10Speaker 3: the problem that is in a subset of GR is
- 11:16Speaker 3: that the strong thing turns into a you just have
- 11:20Speaker 3: to sit there and watch me do stuff. For five
- 11:23Speaker 3: minutes and and at the end of that like you're
- 11:26Speaker 3: screwed or you know, I win. And I don't think
- 11:32Speaker 3: those are good experiences for the game. I think we
- 11:36Speaker 3: should want to have strong things in the game, but
- 11:40Speaker 3: we shouldn't have things that are strong or even things
- 11:44Speaker 3: that aren't that strong, where it's like I just loop
- 11:46Speaker 3: things forever and then for a long time, and let
- 11:50Speaker 3: me just watch me play me while you sit there,
- 11:54Speaker 3: I'm I'm paging.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Oh yes, yeah, you can concede at anytime, the rule
- 11:58Speaker 2: book says. So I don't know if hear this piece
- 12:00Speaker 2: of paper the rules that true. But that's able to
- 12:05Speaker 2: concede at any time happens. That happens all the time
- 12:09Speaker 2: and high end card games.
- 12:12Speaker 1: So but but here's here's where I think Keyfarge is different.
- 12:15Speaker 1: In unique Keyfordge. With the premise of it being a
- 12:18Speaker 1: race game, I want to see that we're coming neck
- 12:21Speaker 1: and neck and that there's some Jocelyn going back and forth.
- 12:24Speaker 1: If you just bust out and all of a sudden
- 12:27Speaker 1: there is no chance coming back, it's no longer fun.
- 12:32Speaker 1: And so I don't know, I want to see that
- 12:35Speaker 1: there is a fair fight, that it's at least close.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I'd also like to see that it's not just straight
- 12:41Speaker 1: card poll. Okay, you pulled better cards than me, but
- 12:44Speaker 1: there's some skill and the ability to pilots and to
- 12:46Speaker 1: run my deck.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Ah yeah, yeah, I think you are in the wrong game.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I'm not gonna light to you at all. Let me
- 12:59Speaker 3: let me tell you. Let me tell you. There's an old, old,
- 13:02Speaker 3: old wrestling promo that's called the cream always rises to
- 13:07Speaker 3: the top. The cream is those top decks. They will
- 13:13Speaker 3: rise to the top. The top decks will always be Yes,
- 13:17Speaker 3: the top decks will always rise to the top.
- 13:21Speaker 1: They have a higher go ahead.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Well, but I think, but we're not seeing a single
- 13:27Speaker 3: deck or a single archetype always be the thing. There
- 13:34Speaker 3: are a number of really strong decks. How many accolades
- 13:41Speaker 3: does fraud have?
- 13:45Speaker 1: Does does fraud have a high chance at being able
- 13:49Speaker 1: to make top table for our gun? Yes, we all
- 13:52Speaker 1: agree on that, no matter who's no, no, no, no.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Here's the next question to a second place finish.
- 14:00Speaker 1: But does fraud is fraud guaranteed to make it? And
- 14:04Speaker 1: the answer there is no. It has a higher probability,
- 14:07Speaker 1: but is not guaranteed to make it. And I think
- 14:09Speaker 1: that's a distinction that we need to be able to state.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I do, there's definitely you know, if you've been
- 14:18Speaker 3: playing the game for a bit and of opened you know,
- 14:23Speaker 3: a few dozen decks, right, so a bit, it's not
- 14:27Speaker 3: super long there. But if you're newish to the game,
- 14:29Speaker 3: you open a few dozen decks, you're like, I'll go
- 14:30Speaker 3: to a big event. I think you'll have a lot
- 14:34Speaker 3: of fun. But I don't know that you have a
- 14:37Speaker 3: great chance for arkan for winning whole thing. Now, you
- 14:40Speaker 3: do have a chance that sealed, but I don't know
- 14:45Speaker 3: that that's not necessarily bad though, I don't think that's bad.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Like I think meta is relatively healthy.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I think in comparison to other games, the meta
- 14:57Speaker 1: is very healthy. I appreciate being able to see that.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I also think that there should be a reward for
- 15:02Speaker 1: people who play their decks and who are involved heavily
- 15:06Speaker 1: in this game, that, yes, they should be able to
- 15:09Speaker 1: be successful versus someone just coming in off the street
- 15:12Speaker 1: and going ahead and hey, I don't know anything about
- 15:15Speaker 1: key Forge, but I'm gonna go ahead and make of
- 15:16Speaker 1: that top eight table. I don't think that's expected in
- 15:18Speaker 1: any single card game.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Right, right, All right? Should we move into M plus
- 15:26Speaker 3: gigantic pull rates. Yeah, I don't have my want wanh
- 15:33Speaker 3: wah horn or my price is right bump bump bump.
- 15:41Speaker 3: So I think Sheep was the first one to put
- 15:43Speaker 3: this in, but I do agree.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it's pretty self explanatory, right, like we we're all
- 15:51Speaker 4: excited that they're going to make some new stuff. Who
- 15:55Speaker 4: is going to have these new creatures that you're gonna
- 15:57Speaker 4: want to play? And then the drop it.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Was and then you don't get the new creatures you
- 16:03Speaker 3: want to play.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, On a side note, because I definitely had
- 16:08Speaker 1: this and this bothered me this year, we voiced it.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Have has anyone else in the audience, and I want
- 16:15Speaker 1: you guys to send in some messages on our arks
- 16:18Speaker 1: Corner discord. Has anyone else noticed that the rate seems
- 16:23Speaker 1: to be higher on more recent, more mass Mutations boxes
- 16:27Speaker 1: than our earliest sets are the earliest boxes that came.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Out, So I.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Mean, Morgan, I'm not joking, like I do think that
- 16:40Speaker 1: that has been tweaked because we have complained about it,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and if so, I appreciate it, But I am telling
- 16:45Speaker 1: you it seems higher than when the boxes that came
- 16:51Speaker 1: to the stores it seems significantly lower, and right now
- 16:57Speaker 1: it's been pretty high, so I appreciate that.
- 17:00Speaker 3: So I all right, So it was a few weeks
- 17:04Speaker 3: ago now, but I knew my my store owner purchased
- 17:09Speaker 3: additional More Mutation, and I normally buy one when I'm
- 17:14Speaker 3: in there, I'll buy more Amber skies, talk whatever, but
- 17:18Speaker 3: I'll buy one. Right, but I was, I was starting
- 17:21Speaker 3: to slow down. I was like, ah, I still want
- 17:22Speaker 3: to buy one, Like it's nope, you the chances are
- 17:27Speaker 3: going to get something. But somebody was like, oh, let's
- 17:31Speaker 3: play more Mutation. So we all there was five of
- 17:34Speaker 3: us that night, so we all bought. I'm I'm not
- 17:39Speaker 3: sure if everybody got from the new box or not.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I just know that I bought last and three of
- 17:47Speaker 3: the five of us got a Gigantic and then and
- 17:58Speaker 3: I was like, oh cool, Like I actually got a Gigantic.
- 18:02Speaker 3: And then the week after that, I bought another one
- 18:06Speaker 3: and I got a Gigantic again, and I was like sweet,
- 18:10Speaker 3: And tonight I went to the store. I did buy
- 18:13Speaker 3: an MM. I actually didn't open it though I didn't
- 18:15Speaker 3: get to. We ended up playing uh not More Mutation,
- 18:22Speaker 3: and uh, I don't know, well, I'm not going to
- 18:25Speaker 3: open it because I only opened when I play it,
- 18:26Speaker 3: so I have to wait and see. But then before
- 18:34Speaker 3: I bought all that French ao A and just ripped
- 18:37Speaker 3: it all open and then didn't play any of it,
- 18:40Speaker 3: I was like, this was just a waste, so I
- 18:43Speaker 3: only opened X I'm gonna play it. So but in
- 18:47Speaker 3: that small sample size, that like, there's definitely been a
- 18:52Speaker 3: lot more oh oh in the when.
- 18:55Speaker 1: What was it?
- 18:55Speaker 3: A couple of weeks ago when I bought my the
- 18:57Speaker 3: second time I got the Gigantic. The other guy who
- 19:00Speaker 3: we decided to have a MM matchup, he also opened
- 19:04Speaker 3: a Gigantic. So of the last seven that I was
- 19:08Speaker 3: paying attention, five of them had Gigantics. So that doesn't
- 19:14Speaker 3: prove anything.
- 19:15Speaker 1: But no, it doesn't. The sample size is very very small,
- 19:19Speaker 1: but just yeah, it feels. It feels like there has
- 19:23Speaker 1: been a switch. And I'm gonna tell you if if
- 19:24Speaker 1: it is actual reality, I appreciate it because early on
- 19:28Speaker 1: it was a real turn off. We had people we
- 19:30Speaker 1: all went through full box. There was nothing, not a
- 19:33Speaker 1: single Gigantic there, and okay, there it is basically then
- 19:38Speaker 1: more mass mutation. There just was more of it and
- 19:42Speaker 1: not anything that we were excited to be able to play,
- 19:44Speaker 1: and it really was a downer for our group and
- 19:46Speaker 1: four me personally being able to draw and then to
- 19:49Speaker 1: see the new box came in after we had sold
- 19:53Speaker 1: through a couple of them. The new box, it seems
- 19:55Speaker 1: to be every other deck that we're going ahead and
- 19:59Speaker 1: pulling again, smaller sample size even with that twelve, but
- 20:06Speaker 1: I like seeing the larger gigantic. I like to see
- 20:10Speaker 1: a higher amount of them. So if that's a change
- 20:13Speaker 1: that has happened, thank you. I actually went and picked
- 20:16Speaker 1: up a few more just because, hey, let's go ahead
- 20:18Speaker 1: and pull some gigantics. I think they're fun to play
- 20:21Speaker 1: with if nothing else. And if we're looking Wookie at
- 20:24Speaker 1: that earlier topic of hey, we're trying to play for
- 20:27Speaker 1: some casuals, some people who are sitting around a kitchen table,
- 20:32Speaker 1: then throw in more of the gigantics. Why not. It's
- 20:35Speaker 1: not going to go ahead and break the game open
- 20:37Speaker 1: and completely bust it compared to everything else that we're seeing.
- 20:40Speaker 1: So put in multiple gigantics. Let's have some fun with it.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Let's see what it can do.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Totally totally yawn. Oh yeah, yeah, So Wookie, have you
- 20:53Speaker 3: opened a gigantic. No no, And if you were to,
- 20:59Speaker 3: would you get excited by it? No? No, No, it's
- 21:03Speaker 3: not cool enough.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Would you would you get excited by anything right now?
- 21:08Speaker 3: Yeah? Yes I would. If I got a vault to
- 21:13Speaker 3: her Caliber deck, I would get excited.
- 21:17Speaker 1: That's because you won the lottery, if you if you've
- 21:19Speaker 1: pulled that.
- 21:20Speaker 2: But I'm tired of it being about winning the fucking lottery.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Every time I go to open a key Forge deck,
- 21:27Speaker 2: I do.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Like I assessed deck tonight, this isn't the game for you, Like,
- 21:32Speaker 3: maybe that isn't That is.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Half the feature of key Forge is that it's not
- 21:36Speaker 4: a I can just go by and play the same
- 21:39Speaker 4: deck everybody else is playing.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Yay, Well maybe, but I will tell you that I
- 21:47Speaker 3: felt a ton better and still do feel a ton
- 21:49Speaker 3: better opening Grim Reminders than I do any other set
- 21:53Speaker 3: in KeyForge.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Now it's.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Right, and it gives me the feeling that I can
- 22:00Speaker 2: go bring buy it and do well somewhere, as opposed
- 22:06Speaker 2: to buying it and knowing I'm going to be in
- 22:08Speaker 2: the bottom echelon because I pulled trash.
- 22:13Speaker 1: And I hear that I do feel that.
- 22:16Speaker 2: I hate to tell you these new players don't want
- 22:19Speaker 2: your ship necks. It's like remember Reforge or whatever is it,
- 22:22Speaker 2: Project Reforge, where we'd wrap up all our ship necks
- 22:25Speaker 2: and give them to someone. I mean, if it gets
- 22:29Speaker 2: them into the game, that gets anyone into the game.
- 22:33Speaker 2: The idea, the idea was fine, like here's some free product,
- 22:38Speaker 2: get it in a game, have some fun. I don't
- 22:41Speaker 2: think you realize Ookie, how many more players there are
- 22:44Speaker 2: that are not like us. That they keep every deck,
- 22:47Speaker 2: they track what they've done with every deck, they care
- 22:49Speaker 2: about every deck. Yeah, that is not me, and that
- 22:54Speaker 2: is definitely not you. But there are a lot of
- 22:57Speaker 2: players who are like that. At well, then they need
- 23:02Speaker 2: to speak up because I don't know where you keep.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Everyone keeps talking about these magical players that like you
- 23:07Speaker 2: don't talk to anybody.
- 23:09Speaker 3: How the hell did you know? I talk to lots
- 23:11Speaker 3: of people, talk to you right now?
- 23:14Speaker 4: Well, I'm not that person, but.
- 23:16Speaker 2: All these magical players that exist for that person, Now,
- 23:22Speaker 2: like I do.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Start going to your locals, you'll talk to two or
- 23:25Speaker 4: three of them.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Like it is a huge a part of this game
- 23:31Speaker 3: for me. I'm like I agree, like, like, yes, there
- 23:35Speaker 3: are certain decks that are just you know, you can't
- 23:39Speaker 3: redeem them. But you can't turn chicken shit into chicken salad. No,
- 23:44Speaker 3: But if you pitch your what most decks are fun
- 23:46Speaker 3: to play most.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And for the cost even right now, at fifteen dollars,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I can go ahead and spend fifteen dollars and have
- 23:56Speaker 1: a great time with friends being social playing card game.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Like that's if you're going out to try and grab food,
- 24:03Speaker 1: or you're trying to grab a drink, or you're trying
- 24:05Speaker 1: to go ahead and watch a movie, that fifteen dollars
- 24:08Speaker 1: is a great deal for us. I really do see that.
- 24:14Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 24:14Speaker 1: I just I think that it's there's a lot of
- 24:16Speaker 1: benefit for being able to play the decks. I know
- 24:18Speaker 1: you talk about like Sheep over here is trying to
- 24:20Speaker 1: go ahead and smuggle his deck to anyone who will
- 24:23Speaker 1: take it. And that's his joke as he's leaving every
- 24:26Speaker 1: single game is like end of his locals. And but
- 24:29Speaker 1: that's fine, Like he's looking for that absolute gem and
- 24:34Speaker 1: for everything else, he doesn't need to hold onto it. Unfortunately,
- 24:37Speaker 1: I'm still that person who's scamming everything in putting it
- 24:39Speaker 1: into my boxes. I just literally more like Sheep, but
- 24:44Speaker 1: I and and that's fine. If that's where you are.
- 24:49Speaker 1: But I think that there are a lot of other
- 24:51Speaker 1: people who really enjoy exploring, who enjoy being able to sort,
- 24:54Speaker 1: enjoy collecting, enjoy being able to think about what's the
- 24:57Speaker 1: interaction to be able to replay the decks.
- 25:00Speaker 3: What are you enjoy? What are you collecting? What is
- 25:03Speaker 3: there to collect in this game?
- 25:05Speaker 1: Actually there's quite a bit. I've been organizing my own
- 25:08Speaker 1: Keyfarde items and so have you have different border decks,
- 25:13Speaker 1: you have, like I say, keyfoards, you have the like,
- 25:16Speaker 1: you have different language decks that people will go ahead
- 25:20Speaker 1: and search after there's people who will search for different cards. Okay,
- 25:25Speaker 1: I went ahead and I really want to collect Time Traveler.
- 25:28Speaker 1: You can see that there are different aspects for collecting
- 25:31Speaker 1: in this game that are entertaining and engaging for people.
- 25:35Speaker 1: And if that's helpful, great. I know this is really silly,
- 25:39Speaker 1: but when I first got into Magic way way way
- 25:42Speaker 1: back in the day, I spent more time actually reading
- 25:45Speaker 1: the cards, and that got me excited about literature and
- 25:47Speaker 1: reading because of their connection with some actual books that
- 25:52Speaker 1: were there from antiquities and other components. There is more
- 25:57Speaker 1: to this than just hey, we're playing for a competitivelee.
- 26:00Speaker 1: So people aren't it for different reasons. Let them have
- 26:04Speaker 1: fun in their own way.
- 26:05Speaker 3: So back in CODA, before I had a sense of
- 26:10Speaker 3: what I was doing, I was like, I'm gonna get
- 26:12Speaker 3: every rare, so uh, you know, I would.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Like, we have a local who's still trying to do that.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Ah. This came up in chat Reslan. I'm pretty sure
- 26:26Speaker 3: my last the last rarer was bullet Eye. I didn't
- 26:31Speaker 3: have bullet Eye till I finally got it. So after
- 26:38Speaker 3: once I did that for CODA, I didn't really think
- 26:41Speaker 3: about it again for you know, later sets and whatnot.
- 26:45Speaker 3: You want to drive up to Wisconsin, I'll give you
- 26:47Speaker 3: another four boxes. I would think most of my Koda
- 26:50Speaker 3: you probably I got a sets worth in there.
- 26:54Speaker 1: So I can say this at this point, I am
- 26:56Speaker 1: over a thousand cks. But this week, this past weekend,
- 26:58Speaker 1: when I was going ahead and going through all my
- 27:00Speaker 1: key Forge items, I discovered my original spreadsheet of my
- 27:04Speaker 1: first six coded decks and how I had gone ahead
- 27:07Speaker 1: and scored before decks of key Forge existed. Just looking
- 27:10Speaker 1: at some of the stats that we had polled. I
- 27:13Speaker 1: know that we've talked about the other scoring mechanism that
- 27:15Speaker 1: was there before but it was actually really nice to
- 27:19Speaker 1: reminisce about those decks and to think about them. Are
- 27:23Speaker 1: they competitive? No? But do they have good memories for me? Yes?
- 27:26Speaker 1: And that's something important for keyfdge is that decks can
- 27:30Speaker 1: have meaning because of how many times you've played them
- 27:33Speaker 1: or what they where you've played them at, in what level?
- 27:37Speaker 1: And just when did you get them?
- 27:39Speaker 3: Why?
- 27:39Speaker 1: I mean, from the naming decks to there are lots
- 27:43Speaker 1: of reasons that I think that key Forge is doing
- 27:45Speaker 1: a nice job at being able to bring people in.
- 27:48Speaker 1: We just we want to have a median where these
- 27:51Speaker 1: decks are not pointless. There are still too many that
- 27:54Speaker 1: fall in that manner. But I like the meaning that's
- 27:57Speaker 1: behind a lot of them.
- 28:00Speaker 2: But yet, again, you made the meaning the deck, didn't
- 28:04Speaker 2: the company. Didn't you have a meaning towards it?
- 28:08Speaker 1: Because I unttatched. I attached it with playing some games, right,
- 28:12Speaker 1: being able to play against you guys, Like.
- 28:15Speaker 4: But isn't that it like every game?
- 28:17Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, Like, how are we going to
- 28:18Speaker 1: do anything different?
- 28:21Speaker 2: I have some ideas, but that's for another show. And
- 28:23Speaker 2: then they'll adopt those ideas and then claim they didn't
- 28:26Speaker 2: adopt those ideas but less well, let's go into too
- 28:32Speaker 2: many sets in a year, Amber Sky's token of Tokens
- 28:35Speaker 2: of change, Grim Reminders Vall Masters twenty four M m M.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Did I miss any others?
- 28:43Speaker 3: Don't believe you talk? No, you got talk. Sorry that
- 28:47Speaker 3: was number two.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I think you got all four sets from this year
- 28:53Speaker 2: five five set one two three four yep, five sets
- 28:57Speaker 2: from this year. I almost feel like the vault Master's
- 29:01Speaker 2: set should be like in a level of their own
- 29:03Speaker 2: for complaint, because vault Master's twenty four was doo doo kaka,
- 29:08Speaker 2: Like that has to be the worst aisle of trash
- 29:11Speaker 2: and I've ever seen ever. Somehow Drascore is going to
- 29:14Speaker 2: try to not make it terrible. Well, no, I was
- 29:18Speaker 2: just gonna say I knew it was terrible. I realized
- 29:21Speaker 2: I didn't think it was that bad until I heard
- 29:24Speaker 2: on a sloppy lab work that it might supplant DT
- 29:28Speaker 2: as the best set.
- 29:29Speaker 3: I was like, well, clearly it's terrible. Then there you go.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Lookie, I put it as a five point two.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Five point two. Thank you. I appreciate that grim Mind
- 29:41Speaker 3: makes you can get quad routine jobs, but like the
- 29:46Speaker 3: problem is with the way routine jobs I don't know.
- 29:48Speaker 3: If you guys saw that you got that might not
- 29:53Speaker 3: be then I get it in I think that's talk now.
- 29:59Speaker 3: I got a look, no.
- 30:00Speaker 4: It's you can get that in what's it.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Called Morgan's saying in a discord there's a talk deck
- 30:06Speaker 1: with six jobs.
- 30:12Speaker 3: There's a talk deck with six routine jobs that was
- 30:16Speaker 3: opened the other day.
- 30:20Speaker 4: To come back.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Yeah, so coming to this topic.
- 30:25Speaker 4: There's a rarity to collect.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Gotta go to China. Because of course I.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Get the I get the idea. I mean to come
- 30:35Speaker 1: back to our number five. I get the idea of
- 30:40Speaker 1: more mass mutations being there as exclusive to our stores.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I like the idea. The implementation with the amount of
- 30:48Speaker 1: gigantics was problematic. We talked about that earlier. But the
- 30:51Speaker 1: amount of sets in a year, it especially with them
- 30:56Speaker 1: being grouped together, that was It's wasn't it wasn't.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Here's one of my bigger problems, problems, right, more mass mutations.
- 31:07Speaker 3: It's not allowed to be clumped with just regular mass mutations.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Even though yeah, I did think that was interesting, like
- 31:17Speaker 3: if you why not right? So, like if you're all
- 31:22Speaker 3: gung ho on alliance, which clearly they are, because that
- 31:25Speaker 3: ship's still around. I'm terribly sorry.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Everyone, thank you for your donation.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Like it's still the same set, right, you just expanded
- 31:37Speaker 2: upon it, so let people alliance with it. Last I checked,
- 31:41Speaker 2: Mass Mutations wasn't exactly busting the doors down an Alliance?
- 31:45Speaker 2: Am I wrong on that one? I'd have to go
- 31:47Speaker 2: back and check.
- 31:49Speaker 3: But we also didn't have like a clean mm time
- 31:55Speaker 3: frame right like right, But clearly it's not good enough
- 31:59Speaker 3: for people to go back to it. I don't know.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Morgan just said, and I want to vault this year
- 32:06Speaker 3: in Alliance so we know things when please please provide
- 32:11Speaker 3: details this year double jar Oh yeah, the double Jar deck.
- 32:16Speaker 3: That's right. That was our gas, right yeah, that was
- 32:19Speaker 3: our guest that was in the chat. So bargas can
- 32:23Speaker 3: can uh let us know things either way? I I
- 32:30Speaker 3: don't see why. So we're going back to old sets
- 32:33Speaker 3: and releasing new things, why not allow it to be
- 32:37Speaker 3: at least alliance like we're they again, they're they're really
- 32:42Speaker 3: gung hodan alliance. And as much as Josh and all
- 32:46Speaker 3: of them want to say, we won't be running them
- 32:48Speaker 3: back to back or we won't be running them, you
- 32:50Speaker 3: know you won't be able to play all three this year.
- 32:52Speaker 3: I know that's a line of bullshit, and so does
- 32:55Speaker 3: everyone else listening out there, because there's gonna be like
- 32:59Speaker 3: four and a half people who are going to play Alliance,
- 33:02Speaker 3: and then they're gonna be like, well, I guess we
- 33:04Speaker 3: just run it back to back because you're not gonna
- 33:06Speaker 3: have enough to even have a top eight. So I
- 33:14Speaker 3: don't know, Maybe I don't know, Like Josh seemed pretty
- 33:17Speaker 3: insistent when you can be ass as you can be
- 33:22Speaker 3: as insistent as he wants, right, But you know, when
- 33:26Speaker 3: push comes to shove and rubber hits the road, when
- 33:30Speaker 3: those three people pull up to play Alliance, they're gonna
- 33:34Speaker 3: be like shit.
- 33:35Speaker 2: So so either you're gonna tell me we're getting rid
- 33:38Speaker 2: of Alliance because it just isn't performing, or they're just
- 33:42Speaker 2: gonna start, you know, running it the way they always
- 33:45Speaker 2: run it to make sure numbers go to where they
- 33:47Speaker 2: need it to be.
- 33:48Speaker 4: It will be interesting to see what they do when
- 33:51Speaker 4: there is a very low number of players.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Wow, maybe uh, maybe Sidney will just fly in the
- 34:01Speaker 3: few Alliance players.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Or she flies in Cardboard Doctor sheeps there and they
- 34:08Speaker 2: all play them and they're all.
- 34:10Speaker 4: Gonna play Sydney dackx yeah, that'll be a fine event.
- 34:13Speaker 2: I mean, man, back in the day, that's what we
- 34:16Speaker 2: used to do. I made accounts for my kids so
- 34:18Speaker 2: we could have sanctioned events over at certain places. Don't
- 34:23Speaker 2: act like we all haven't done it. Don't judge us.
- 34:25Speaker 2: But uh, yeah, they lost to all their games.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Yep, they're real bad.
- 34:30Speaker 3: They're real bad.
- 34:32Speaker 4: But for some real bad Back Warrior players back in
- 34:34Speaker 4: the day too.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm just saying, like, don't tell me when
- 34:39Speaker 2: the when the three they're like and the Alliance is
- 34:42Speaker 2: over here and it's like three people, they're gonna be like, Okay,
- 34:46Speaker 2: we gotta change this and it's gonna be done on
- 34:48Speaker 2: the fly again, with no game plan and no sort
- 34:52Speaker 2: of like thought put into it. They're just gonna be like, well,
- 34:55Speaker 2: now we got to run the back to beck because
- 34:56Speaker 2: we don't have enough people.
- 34:57Speaker 4: It's yeah, well, and no no restricted list yet, so
- 35:03Speaker 4: who knows how my players go?
- 35:04Speaker 1: What?
- 35:05Speaker 3: Oh?
- 35:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I was just gonna about to be like, have
- 35:08Speaker 2: we seen a restricted list this year for Alliance?
- 35:11Speaker 1: Don't keep reading further down. No, we haven't gotten any.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Oh is that on the list? I thought, doctor sheeps,
- 35:17Speaker 2: that's pretty good. I like my restricted list. You ready,
- 35:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna give you my restricted list. So I'm let
- 35:24Speaker 2: me get it. I got it right here, and that's it,
- 35:32Speaker 2: and mine's the opposite. It just says, all key forged cards.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I'm at least giving it a chance. You just killed.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Bring your magic, your you and your Pokemon cards to
- 35:47Speaker 2: a to a keyboarde event, bring board game and I
- 35:50Speaker 2: played Zodia. Does that mean I win in this game?
- 35:54Speaker 4: Yes?
- 35:55Speaker 2: Nobody knows, all right, So we went through vault Master
- 36:00Speaker 2: twenty four. I think vault Master twenty four and twenty
- 36:03Speaker 2: three should be able to be combined into Alliance along
- 36:06Speaker 2: with all the other vault Master sets that are here
- 36:09Speaker 2: to come to the future. Please stop making vault Master.
- 36:12Speaker 2: It is terrible.
- 36:14Speaker 1: What about five?
- 36:16Speaker 3: I know it's fine. Yeah, at this point, we're just
- 36:20Speaker 3: getting keep fine.
- 36:22Speaker 2: If you don't keep talking about it, they're just gonna
- 36:25Speaker 2: assume it's okay. Rights, It's like, yeah, hey, are you
- 36:32Speaker 2: dress or you're a manager in your field?
- 36:34Speaker 3: Right yeap. So if you don't consistently tell them that,
- 36:39Speaker 3: like what they're doing is not okay, they just keep
- 36:42Speaker 3: doing it, don't they. That's true, And so you have
- 36:45Speaker 3: to consistently tell them. What you're doing sucks and I
- 36:49Speaker 3: need you to do better. Yeah, yeah, Pert with different words.
- 36:54Speaker 4: I think what you are missing, Wookie is that the
- 36:58Speaker 4: rest of the world has already voted with their money
- 37:01Speaker 4: and vault Master's makes money. So guess what you're getting again?
- 37:05Speaker 2: Where is in what world is vault Master making money
- 37:09Speaker 2: because it's.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Lost them near nothing to create and produce and they
- 37:14Speaker 4: sell it.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:16Speaker 1: I mean so this is actually a little sub tier
- 37:19Speaker 1: under this category for but too many sets in a year.
- 37:22Speaker 1: If you're looking at the difference, isn't it a difference
- 37:24Speaker 1: of twenty cards between more mass mutations and mass mutations?
- 37:29Speaker 3: So like that.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Yeah, again, it's pretty much a repeat, but we make
- 37:35Speaker 1: money off of it. Vault Master. Here very very little
- 37:38Speaker 1: that has to be done. You're pulling some cards together
- 37:43Speaker 1: and we make money off of it. I know you've
- 37:45Speaker 1: talked about it, Wookie before, but whether it's a money
- 37:48Speaker 1: grab or not, is that something that we really want?
- 37:53Speaker 1: I don't know. For me. There were too many sets
- 37:54Speaker 1: in this year. I think that's one of them. But
- 37:57Speaker 1: it's all of it kind of putting together. I'd much
- 38:00Speaker 1: there have some fleshed out. Here's your two sets that
- 38:03Speaker 1: have been laid out, they have focused for the houses,
- 38:06Speaker 1: they have focused on the set design, they have been
- 38:10Speaker 1: played tested, and we can eliminate a large section. They're
- 38:13Speaker 1: competitive and they're pushing the envelope.
- 38:17Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I don't like the amount of sets, so I'll come
- 38:20Speaker 1: back to that. But I see more mass mutations being
- 38:23Speaker 1: similar to Vault Master of Hey, we're going to push
- 38:25Speaker 1: it out. Is it enjoyable? Sure? And I guess maybe
- 38:28Speaker 1: that's your earlier question. Does it go to the the
- 38:31Speaker 1: kitchen table players? Okay, well, if it's kitchen table players
- 38:35Speaker 1: and they're picking.
- 38:35Speaker 2: It up Vault, No, it doesn't because it shouldn't revolt
- 38:39Speaker 2: to get it.
- 38:40Speaker 1: It shouldn't, but people are picking it up. So then
- 38:42Speaker 1: is it a straight money grap like.
- 38:44Speaker 3: People picking it up? How many of you sold?
- 38:48Speaker 1: I sold a couple, and I know that they sold
- 38:51Speaker 1: more and they have less invested than I have in
- 38:53Speaker 1: it sow.
- 38:56Speaker 3: So I to me, too many sets is only a
- 39:03Speaker 3: problem because of the size of the company and the
- 39:09Speaker 3: level investment they can make, right, So I don't if
- 39:13Speaker 3: they had a big team lots of of designers and developers. Argument,
- 39:20Speaker 3: you have a game, no, no, no jos release that
- 39:24Speaker 3: is doing more than key Forge and the team size
- 39:27Speaker 3: is the same amount.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Correct, But listen to what is saying Dress is saying
- 39:31Speaker 1: is because of this size, they shouldn't be pushing right,
- 39:34Speaker 1: so they're not able to they show us that they
- 39:36Speaker 1: can execute.
- 39:37Speaker 3: It, right, Like if if they had that span and
- 39:41Speaker 3: could really invest enough time, it's just too much for
- 39:44Speaker 3: for they got Luke, right, and they got Putter of
- 39:46Speaker 3: Hurley right, like to to give they have they have
- 39:52Speaker 3: sky Jedi, yeah, and they've got a port of Hurley's time, right, Oh,
- 39:58Speaker 3: a port of Hurley. Yeah, I thought you called them
- 40:01Speaker 3: something different. Never mind. Oh, I was like that He's
- 40:04Speaker 3: all right, he's cool, He's a cool dude, right, Luke's
- 40:08Speaker 3: Luke's fuddy as hell to chat with. But like's there,
- 40:11Speaker 3: there's there's like like there's only so much time those
- 40:16Speaker 3: those one and a half people, right, because because Earley's
- 40:19Speaker 3: also doing another thing, can can actually put into a
- 40:22Speaker 3: set and finding all the combinations and finding like you
- 40:26Speaker 3: can never do a perfect job. But like some of
- 40:30Speaker 3: the like stuff I was talking about before the watch
- 40:34Speaker 3: Me play scenarios, like if they if they were just
- 40:38Speaker 3: able to invest more time into a single set, would
- 40:42Speaker 3: they have caught more of those? Would would we have
- 40:45Speaker 3: had less of those?
- 40:46Speaker 1: Maybe?
- 40:48Speaker 2: I like to think so, Like I don't know when
- 40:50Speaker 2: I When I think a vault Master, my thought is
- 40:53Speaker 2: the greatest hits and it ain't happening. Like You've had
- 40:58Speaker 2: all these sets to pull cards from now and your
- 41:03Speaker 2: ears still getting the same old junk.
- 41:06Speaker 4: That's for me, that's what reprints, that's are same old junk.
- 41:12Speaker 2: But you but there's good junk in all those sets
- 41:14Speaker 2: and they just refuse to pick those those cards.
- 41:18Speaker 1: But isn't that coming down again to our game design
- 41:21Speaker 1: and who's making the choices to put those cards in?
- 41:26Speaker 1: Isn't that the hard reality?
- 41:28Speaker 3: It is? It is?
- 41:30Speaker 2: I mean, if we're just gonna say it, let's say it,
- 41:32Speaker 2: then nobody wants to say it.
- 41:37Speaker 4: What are we saying that we don't know the same
- 41:39Speaker 4: thing we've been saying all along? Now? I don't agree
- 41:41Speaker 4: with all the decisions.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Twenty four player A head count for worlds too small
- 41:45Speaker 2: for doctor sheep, he said, Oh, I'm sorry, Ewok said this.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Yeah I didn't.
- 41:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I definitely I had that too. That is the
- 41:54Speaker 4: wrong player count for a too l O tournament.
- 41:59Speaker 1: So what on it has issues for the two elow too.
- 42:03Speaker 1: The more that I've been in this game, the more
- 42:05Speaker 1: I want to see this run Mora's ffgs. Here's a
- 42:10Speaker 1: top one hundred, bring two friends to play. I want
- 42:13Speaker 1: a three hundred person event. I want party. I want
- 42:16Speaker 1: people there having fun playing.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Key for we can't have sheep dumps people on their head.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Okay, don't we lose, we lose one or two Temporarily.
- 42:30Speaker 1: I am the party, But I think I think the
- 42:32Speaker 1: short answer is that it's a very different philosophy when
- 42:36Speaker 1: you're limiting to twenty four and it drives me absolutely
- 42:41Speaker 1: bonkers when we have changing vault tour. Okay, here's how
- 42:48Speaker 1: many different events you can play in. Here's how many.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Here's how the top people are getting in and how
- 42:54Speaker 1: that changes. And that's something that we all have to
- 42:57Speaker 1: deal with. But if we're going to be Lucy goosey
- 43:01Speaker 1: about it, then put it as a top hundred. Let
- 43:04Speaker 1: everyone come and have a blast and let people fight
- 43:06Speaker 1: it out. But then your vaults have very little meaning.
- 43:11Speaker 3: So I don't know. I don't know if allowing more
- 43:17Speaker 3: people to play gives it less meaning.
- 43:21Speaker 1: I just think that there's people who can't come to
- 43:23Speaker 1: these large events, and so if you're only able to
- 43:26Speaker 1: come to one, you may be a great player, but
- 43:28Speaker 1: you don't go ahead and you don't get as dak
- 43:30Speaker 1: for sealed, and maybe you have your bad matchup, two
- 43:34Speaker 1: bad matchups.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Okay, it happens, No, it does. I just like I said,
- 43:38Speaker 3: I don't.
- 43:38Speaker 2: I don't know if if expanding it to a hunter
- 43:41Speaker 2: player makes makes it less meaningful, If anything, wouldn't that
- 43:46Speaker 2: make it more meaningful because you had to battle through
- 43:48Speaker 2: a larger field as opposed to a twenty four person field.
- 43:53Speaker 4: It takes away the all the prize you're actually playing for.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Well, I mean, will be getting to that short We.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Could we could actually do better with prizing.
- 44:03Speaker 3: So that's coming. That's coming. These are no, uh, I don't.
- 44:08Speaker 3: We've given them numbers, but I don't think these are
- 44:10Speaker 3: in any specific order. Really, we're just on our soapbox
- 44:15Speaker 3: sy Yeah, all right, low turnouts to vaults, slow lead time,
- 44:22Speaker 3: location choice, bad prizing. We at least I fixed the lead time.
- 44:29Speaker 3: The lead time has been fixed finally, so I mean
- 44:34Speaker 3: that that they've changed this year. So I guess this
- 44:39Speaker 3: year is going to be the test, right, like to
- 44:42Speaker 3: determine whether I just mean, I'm going to be the
- 44:48Speaker 3: only one to whether they're still going to do Vault
- 44:50Speaker 3: or not. I mean this, this is their test. I
- 44:54Speaker 3: hate to tell you the guys this this year is
- 44:57Speaker 3: the test to see whether they will continue to do
- 44:59Speaker 3: this or not.
- 45:00Speaker 4: You can disagree with it. It's a test every year.
- 45:03Speaker 4: It's a test every year if they even print more
- 45:05Speaker 4: key Forge. That's how everything works. Like, I don't know,
- 45:10Speaker 4: I don't know why. You think what you're saying is
- 45:12Speaker 4: is insightful, very insightful. Okay, we are.
- 45:19Speaker 1: I think we take it for granted, is what what
- 45:21Speaker 1: he is saying. And so he's saying basically that it
- 45:25Speaker 1: could potentially go away. I don't think so. I think
- 45:28Speaker 1: that they have. There's a lot that seems to be
- 45:32Speaker 1: copy pasted from year to year with a little add on,
- 45:37Speaker 1: and I like that we're adding on. I just don't
- 45:40Speaker 1: see it being added on quick enough compared to other games,
- 45:43Speaker 1: and that's where there's frustration. I think that the prizing
- 45:47Speaker 1: is absolutely pathetic and I will continue to stand behind that.
- 45:51Speaker 1: I think that if we want to grow the game,
- 45:53Speaker 1: there needs to be actual marketing of it, and there
- 45:58Speaker 1: needs to be prizing to go ahead and inspire some
- 46:01Speaker 1: people to come out.
- 46:02Speaker 3: So yeah, I did so speaking up prising it is
- 46:08Speaker 3: a slight deviation, but I did listen to the latest
- 46:12Speaker 3: help from future self, and I was thought spot on
- 46:17Speaker 3: about that they should lean into accolades, the digital accolades,
- 46:21Speaker 3: get those on your decks. All sorts of reasons to
- 46:24Speaker 3: print stuff like that is that is money for them,
- 46:29Speaker 3: stuff people want. I think I think that's where they
- 46:34Speaker 3: should go.
- 46:38Speaker 2: I can't agree that that's one part of it, but
- 46:40Speaker 2: I think you still need physical stuff. Yeah, and when
- 46:44Speaker 2: you're having physical stuff that nobody's really interested in, it
- 46:50Speaker 2: leads very It doesn't give people the want, need or
- 46:57Speaker 2: sense of urgency to go to anything other than to
- 47:03Speaker 2: have an experience. And if you've been there before, you
- 47:06Speaker 2: know you're going to have a good time. But if
- 47:08Speaker 2: I'm somebody who's never been to a Vault tour, right,
- 47:14Speaker 2: what is exciting me to come out?
- 47:19Speaker 1: I think there's two things that we have to be
- 47:21Speaker 1: able to lean into, and I think are the show
- 47:26Speaker 1: is speaking about this, So Kirkman Vault Our needs unique
- 47:28Speaker 1: things for the event. Vault Master decks are great, more
- 47:31Speaker 1: accoletes is great. The short answer is I want every
- 47:34Speaker 1: single person coming in having something that's unique for that
- 47:38Speaker 1: event that they feel special, they can go back to
- 47:40Speaker 1: their locals and talk about we've talked each year about this.
- 47:44Speaker 1: That is absolutely needed. And then Morgan right above that, Okay,
- 47:48Speaker 1: World's prizing was kind of mad. That experience was still
- 47:51Speaker 1: worth it, and I agree the experience of being able
- 47:53Speaker 1: to see people around the world. But said I took second,
- 47:55Speaker 1: or she said I took second in the tournament with
- 47:57Speaker 1: the most players in it, and I got one box
- 48:00Speaker 1: Vault Master twenty four, a play met and a pin.
- 48:03Speaker 1: And that is where we have to incentivize those people
- 48:06Speaker 1: who are willing to travel to multiple vaults, who are
- 48:09Speaker 1: your competitive players, who want to be able to spread
- 48:11Speaker 1: this further and be able to bring excitement. There also
- 48:15Speaker 1: has to be some coverage and let people know here's
- 48:17Speaker 1: what's actually at stake, let people know ahead of time
- 48:20Speaker 1: go in that. But I think the chat is one
- 48:22Speaker 1: hundred percent spot on something for every single person who's coming,
- 48:26Speaker 1: something that's casual that they're going to walk away with.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Here's here's my little I mean, Marcus had done a
- 48:31Speaker 1: phenomenal job of here's the little patch that shows what
- 48:35Speaker 1: this event is. I can put that on my mats
- 48:38Speaker 1: or walk around in my bag, or I can have that.
- 48:40Speaker 1: That is something worthwhile. We need more of that and
- 48:44Speaker 1: we need less of here's a box of vault Master
- 48:48Speaker 1: twenty four. I do think the pins were better this year.
- 48:51Speaker 1: I like the size, so Josh, that was good.
- 48:53Speaker 4: We're talking about a year and a half ago. That's
- 48:56Speaker 4: something like vault Masters was a good ideas.
- 49:00Speaker 2: A good idea, but again, if you botch the delivery,
- 49:06Speaker 2: nobody cares well.
- 49:09Speaker 3: I think the things greater. Last year's terrible in practice botched.
- 49:14Speaker 1: I think the excitement for last year was we had
- 49:17Speaker 1: a really good set of Griom Reminders and so the idea, hey,
- 49:21Speaker 1: we're going to see basically you put the little vault
- 49:24Speaker 1: Master symbol on those grim Reminders decks. Now I have
- 49:29Speaker 1: a chance at having a really sporty quick deck that there.
- 49:33Speaker 1: It's a good poll and it's going to go ahead
- 49:36Speaker 1: and have vault Masters on it.
- 49:37Speaker 3: Instead.
- 49:38Speaker 1: We came to the first one in Roseville and we
- 49:40Speaker 1: got vault Master twenty four with the symbol. And I'll
- 49:43Speaker 1: tell you I've collected all of them. That that's great,
- 49:47Speaker 1: but I paid money after going ahead and winning, because
- 49:51Speaker 1: no one will take them. There are people who are
- 49:54Speaker 1: actually giving them back this year. That should be a
- 49:57Speaker 1: really big sign that it's not worthwhile.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Nobody's going to be giving him back. Nobody's going to
- 50:05Speaker 2: give them back. Yeah, that's a loaded Whoever whoever said
- 50:08Speaker 2: that's lying. Okay, nobody, I need pictures or it didn't happen,
- 50:14Speaker 2: like I would be shocked.
- 50:17Speaker 3: Were you giving them back.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I'll just say that.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Okay, Well, I I look forward to watching give his
- 50:26Speaker 2: Vault Master twenty four back.
- 50:30Speaker 4: I don't I don't know what the answer is. Obviously
- 50:35Speaker 4: none of us know what the answer is. I think
- 50:38Speaker 4: we just suffer so bad in this game from that.
- 50:43Speaker 4: Decks aren't constructible, so they can't just take everybody's favorite card,
- 50:47Speaker 4: print a pretty version of it and people get retarded
- 50:50Speaker 4: and want to pay way too much money.
- 50:52Speaker 3: They can do that.
- 50:53Speaker 1: But you can get extended. You can get extended, like,
- 50:58Speaker 1: yes you can.
- 50:59Speaker 3: You can print one pretty card and if that car
- 51:02Speaker 3: happens to be in your deck and you are playing
- 51:04Speaker 3: a card, just slide it in. This is not difficult
- 51:09Speaker 3: for the judges. Marcus and g are intelligent human beings
- 51:13Speaker 3: who can read a deck list and go too much
- 51:16Speaker 3: to protect too much to protect, right, It's not like
- 51:19Speaker 3: they're scanning every card in and they can't create it
- 51:24Speaker 3: and it just doesn't work like this lie that they're
- 51:27Speaker 3: telling you that, like, we just can't do that. You
- 51:29Speaker 3: thinking can you can? You choose not to.
- 51:35Speaker 1: And knowing that all of the decks are well, they
- 51:39Speaker 1: can sleep knowing that their sleeve we can do this.
- 51:46Speaker 3: Yeah, or they could even do it through their printing
- 51:47Speaker 3: play so that even the sleeves are uh, you can
- 51:52Speaker 3: you could have you can have a monthly thing in
- 51:57Speaker 3: your local organized play where it's hey, this month's card
- 52:02Speaker 3: is name a card right now, I am wild red
- 52:08Speaker 3: line rotation, all right, wild wormhole. Obviously it would probably
- 52:12Speaker 3: be more set based, but this this week's card is
- 52:16Speaker 3: red line Rotation. Get your pretty new foil expanded our
- 52:20Speaker 3: red line Rotation and visit a store near you and
- 52:24Speaker 3: play in your local OLP and then you can take
- 52:27Speaker 3: that card and if you are playing a deck that
- 52:29Speaker 3: has red Line Rotation in it, just flip it in.
- 52:32Speaker 3: Like this isn't any more work for the judges. They're
- 52:35Speaker 3: already going through all thirty six cards in your deck
- 52:39Speaker 3: at a deck check. If you're telling me that Marcus
- 52:42Speaker 3: and g can't figure it out that that card is
- 52:45Speaker 3: red line rotation just with a pretty border. Give me
- 52:48Speaker 3: a break. That is the lamest excuse I have ever
- 52:52Speaker 3: heard in my life, Like they are too pretty intelligent people.
- 52:58Speaker 1: That does definitely fit with, uh, what is kind of
- 53:05Speaker 1: the big star that it has its own category but
- 53:09Speaker 1: is really low hanging fruit. And that's incentivized people to play. Okay,
- 53:14Speaker 1: whether that store leaderboard was the chain's and guess what
- 53:17Speaker 1: you can do if there's a card they could.
- 53:19Speaker 3: You can do that same thing and put a pretty
- 53:23Speaker 3: Roseville twenty twenty five Vault to Her stamp on it.
- 53:26Speaker 3: And now it's even cooler and makes people want to
- 53:29Speaker 3: go there. And hey, remember we all have those awesome
- 53:33Speaker 3: Ember shards. Maybe they could make a set of cards
- 53:36Speaker 3: and charge you, like, I don't know, one hundred umber
- 53:39Speaker 3: shards and you get this cool little pack of cards
- 53:42Speaker 3: that they have decided and chosen from whatever the most
- 53:46Speaker 3: recent set happens to be, that are in foil and
- 53:49Speaker 3: have this cool little stamp on them. And then I
- 53:53Speaker 3: can say I have to have that printed and sent
- 53:56Speaker 3: to me in my deck exactly well, and then I
- 53:59Speaker 3: have some more cool that I go back to my
- 54:01Speaker 3: lgs with and be like, guys, guys, I just came
- 54:04Speaker 3: from the most recent Vault tour and check out what
- 54:07Speaker 3: I got. Yeah, I think it'd be cool. I think
- 54:13Speaker 3: it'd be cool.
- 54:14Speaker 1: I would love to see the digital accolades. I would
- 54:16Speaker 1: love to see more extended art. I'd love to see
- 54:19Speaker 1: a reason to be going into our locals. Lookie, there
- 54:23Speaker 1: was a great idea that our local peete had come
- 54:26Speaker 1: up with for being able to use decks. We're not
- 54:28Speaker 1: going to go into that here. That's that's a whole
- 54:30Speaker 1: nother episode. But I think that there's a large discussion
- 54:33Speaker 1: about what are we doing to really change over kind
- 54:37Speaker 1: of the meta and to change some of those decks
- 54:42Speaker 1: that are are being opened and played consistently at a
- 54:44Speaker 1: high end, and what's being done to incentivize people to
- 54:48Speaker 1: play to be able to go ahead? And we talked
- 54:51Speaker 1: about tracking your stats. People love that. Okay, well, can
- 54:54Speaker 1: we lean into it? No, there are things that could
- 54:58Speaker 1: definitely be done.
- 54:58Speaker 2: No, because is too busy. There nothing for because Ricardo
- 55:06Speaker 2: is too busy rebuilding a broken op.
- 55:12Speaker 1: Software software as a whole.
- 55:17Speaker 3: No, No, it's not is that on this list?
- 55:20Speaker 1: No, that's not I can keep adding it in the
- 55:22Speaker 1: bottom of the All right.
- 55:24Speaker 2: All right, next up, so more in the head counts
- 55:28Speaker 2: and ope thing gen Con no articles shown anywhere, no
- 55:34Speaker 2: article recap, no nothing, gen Con never happened. Oh and
- 55:40Speaker 2: uh Morgan, your prizes were better for taking second place
- 55:42Speaker 2: in the open than I were for taking second place
- 55:45Speaker 2: in a national.
- 55:48Speaker 4: Doesn't necessarily seem wrong.
- 55:52Speaker 1: I think that. I think that it's still rops you
- 55:54Speaker 1: wrong when like we have everything else and it's like
- 55:59Speaker 1: this doesn't matter.
- 56:00Speaker 2: You're a heart out and they're like, here you go,
- 56:02Speaker 2: here's your play mat, your deck book and your one
- 56:05Speaker 2: deck you had on there now little boy.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Well, no, I think what really is the kicker there
- 56:12Speaker 1: is what you get access to worlds. That's awesome. But
- 56:15Speaker 1: nobody even out outside of this cast, outside of the
- 56:17Speaker 1: people were there. No one would have known if if
- 56:22Speaker 1: parent company doesn't actually go ahead and write about it,
- 56:23Speaker 1: if it's not for us, if it's not for the podcast,
- 56:26Speaker 1: nobody knows. Why did I not do it?
- 56:28Speaker 4: They didn't do any of the nationals, did they? No,
- 56:32Speaker 4: they didn't. My guess is that they didn't do any
- 56:36Speaker 4: of the nationals because they went with them. Well, if
- 56:38Speaker 4: they don't have data for all of them, then you
- 56:40Speaker 4: get nothing.
- 56:42Speaker 1: So the short answer is if I don't have it
- 56:45Speaker 1: for one or more than one, just too bad for
- 56:50Speaker 1: those that we do have.
- 56:51Speaker 4: If you didn't bring bubblegum for everybody, no bubblegum allowed.
- 56:56Speaker 1: See. But I think this is what was missed at
- 56:58Speaker 1: the First Worlds is the idea, idea of a coda
- 57:02Speaker 1: dec still being able to win it, the idea of
- 57:05Speaker 1: woe being able to show up, that someone who made
- 57:07Speaker 1: the play in goes ahead and makes it all the
- 57:09Speaker 1: way into the top four. I think for this world
- 57:12Speaker 1: to go ahead and play off, that we have people
- 57:14Speaker 1: who get essentially they they shared their vows and were
- 57:19Speaker 1: able to go out and commit their life because of
- 57:20Speaker 1: this game, Like there are so many opportunities that we
- 57:23Speaker 1: could be actually going ahead and marketing.
- 57:25Speaker 3: And because of this game. I think they fell in
- 57:30Speaker 3: love before key Forge, but you know, but they had
- 57:32Speaker 3: got I think a lot of it comes out, but.
- 57:38Speaker 1: The idea, like we have stories here, lean into those
- 57:41Speaker 1: Cinderella stories, talk about it. Why would you not why
- 57:45Speaker 1: would you not showcase that there have been people who.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Made that you put into like your live stream, that
- 57:52Speaker 2: somebody could be off over in the corner, like editing,
- 57:56Speaker 2: I don't know, editing and doing something and then instead
- 58:00Speaker 2: of just having a moving little thing, there was some music.
- 58:04Speaker 2: You could put little stories in there. Hey check this out. Hey,
- 58:08Speaker 2: let's have a recap from from the Roseville Vault tour
- 58:11Speaker 2: and you can have something pre edited and play it
- 58:14Speaker 2: during during that downtime instead of just nothing. Because I
- 58:18Speaker 2: don't know, if you watch the stats during the downtimes
- 58:21Speaker 2: of nothing during the streams, they go to next to nothing,
- 58:24Speaker 2: and then a game comes on and people watch, and
- 58:27Speaker 2: whether they come back or not, it's a whole nother story.
- 58:30Speaker 2: They don't all come back. Yeah, that's that's my little hand.
- 58:35Speaker 2: There's plenty of opportunity to fill all those down times
- 58:41Speaker 2: with other things. And at Roseville, I mean we filled
- 58:45Speaker 2: most of that downtime, which is John right, I know,
- 58:48Speaker 2: dazcr you did it.
- 58:50Speaker 3: I did it.
- 58:50Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of who else did it with me.
- 58:54Speaker 2: I think June did it for a while.
- 58:56Speaker 3: I don't. I don't remember Roseville. He was on there
- 58:59Speaker 3: for a bit it Fry. Yeah it could be. I don't.
- 59:03Speaker 2: I'd have to go back and watch. But you fill
- 59:05Speaker 2: those with things other than a little bit of music.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Will I will say Morgan is talking about Shane high
- 59:12Speaker 1: Bolts who are not being able to have information. No
- 59:14Speaker 1: international vaults, no nationals are shared. So it wasn't just
- 59:17Speaker 1: our nationals, Wookie and you being kind of slighted. But
- 59:20Speaker 1: those were missed.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Opportunities because I speak the truth.
- 59:24Speaker 1: No, no, but I'm saying it's not just your event,
- 59:27Speaker 1: but you Heathers nailed it.
- 59:29Speaker 3: I know they're like, well, if we have to give
- 59:34Speaker 3: Wookie bubble gum, we're not giving anyone bubble nobody gets
- 59:37Speaker 3: bubble gum. You're all welcome, We're not getting any bubble gum.
- 59:43Speaker 3: All right, let's move into their awesome marketing campaign. This
- 59:50Speaker 3: is one of my favorite CTP quotes ever. It just
- 59:54Speaker 3: shows how out of base and out of touch it
- 59:57Speaker 3: really is. Marketing works.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: I just don't know which fifty percent, so I shall
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: do no marketing.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: I know you're laughing, Yeah, is that this is a
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: CTP quote?
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Is this actually?
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: That is literally what he said at the first meet
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: the meet the Ghosties and uh ewok, I believe asked
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: about what the marketing strategies were, and like, we didn't
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: even get marketing strategies there was just no marketing strategy
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: talked about whatsoever. And then this quote popped out about
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: how we just we don't know, So I think I
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: blocked this out.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: That's because it's a real, real dark moment, dress real dark,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: like if your marketing is actually hitting at fifty percent, one,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: that is amazing, And number two, why wouldn't you further
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: investigate and figure out what is or isn't working like
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: it is? And this comes back, is it the idea
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: for Keyboard? So that we're just content with what we have.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: That's what it seems to be at times from DT.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Seems to be at times seems to be all the time.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: We are content, that's what we have. We are content
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: where we are. We have no ambitions on growing, and
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: then we want a bitch when people talk about well,
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: this kind of feels like all this is it's just
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: money for the next game.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Well, and I think that's where the frustration is is
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: that we talk about, Okay, we're a small team, but
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: it doesn't appear that way when we see other teams
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: that are the same size doing significantly more. It feels like, hey,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Gigi's very content to just ride this out and whatever
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: they make they make it comes across that way because
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: there is no major push.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Yeah, no major push. And it's been two years now,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: so yeah, it is tough, right, Like we you can
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: spend a lot of money money on marketing and it
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: go nowhere. So you got to be.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: But what what what have we done? Going ahead and
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: saying I'm setting up a booth at gen Con. I'm
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: going to go ahead, pick Gama. I'm going to Yes,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: we're reaching out to Gamma, like we're at Gamma and
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: we're going ahead and talking to the retailers. Okay, well,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: what is making you stand out? Why do you feel
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: that people are going to come back to this game?
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Because that's how they're viewing it. This game has been
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: around to reply, how had I come back.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: At their booth at gen Con? I don't know if
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: this is actually work, but I don't think it would
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: take that much more infrastructure, right, Like you could you
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: could basically be like oh, yeah, hey, you know, buy
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: decks whatever, But you could right here, if you give
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: us your information, you can order like a deck with
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: a custom name in it and for the twenty five
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: or whatever. Hi'm with you, I think, And now you're like, oh,
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: this deck has my name or has my yeah, and
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: like do it through gen Con and you can all
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: get one. Maybe this would be a ton of work.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: I don't know, But would you get folks who would
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: be like, oh, this deck has my name on it.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: I want to play this game and I don't know.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: I mean, bare minimum, it's worth a shot, yeah, right
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: out of all the people that you I just I
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: hate the giving information YadA YadA, because like, if somebody
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: comes to me like, give me your information, I want
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: to be like, get away from me, creepy old man.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: I mean people say that too, regardless of you asking
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: for their information.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: Fair enough, but you know, yeah, it's even worse when
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: I ask for their information.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Oh yeah, all right, fair enough.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: But I think this is where we have to see
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: the separation. We're using some marketing targeted for people who
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: followed game found previously. Okay, discovery should be new. So
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: what are we doing to actually attract any new players?
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: Is that all on our local scenes for people who
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: are actually playing to go out and figure it out.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: The real question is what are you doing to attract
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: local new players?
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, is it is it on us
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: as players because that's that's inappropriate.
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: And hasn't it always been?
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: I do have to figure out what I'm doing with discovery.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: I haven't really figured it out yet. I have like
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: been talking to my ord game friends like maybe I'll
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: do a day and uh you can, people can come.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: My thing with discovery is okay, So great discovery is
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: coming out.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: Who knew.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: A very select key forage players who already played the game,
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: So there there was no big push to get this
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: in game stares, no big event. I mean, we do
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: have the discovery kits that are coming right.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: They sent they had aspa day send out an email.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: Oh my god, who game stores delete? So we do
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: have Uh so what.
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: You're informing them about discovery and asking what they need
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: to be able to bring discovery in and if you're
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: gonna do key forge in that So they did at
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: least try something.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: All right. So here here's an image of a Discovery
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: deck because I guess it's already Friday somewhere and somebody
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: posted on our discord. Yeah, uh image of their their
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: two decks or I guess this is one deck actually,
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: and so it's you know, it's a bunch of key
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: Forge cards and it's got so it'll be fine.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's got logos.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: Uh, it does have cease Forge, which is an interesting
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: choice for introductory deck introductory set. But sure, uh it
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: does have enhancements. I didn't think it would necessarily have enhancements,
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: Like I mean, I I love enhancements, and I I
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: I think it's a selling point of the game, which
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: so maybe the maybe it was the right move to
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: do it. But it is a little tricky to explain
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: to new players what the heck's going on when they
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: see what does this enhanced capture capture mean? Can I
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: can I capture now? You know, no, no, but but
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: you can theory sell that. It's like, hey, this is
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: a really cool aspect of the game. Thank you. And
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: I are looking at two very different things. I don't
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: see any capture. I mean, there is a draw in
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: this image, but but I'm just saying I don't see
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: that the diametric charge has a draw on it in
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: this image in our Yeah, okay that kind of blended
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: in there.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: You are correct, ye send the new cards.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it also has that key Forge Powerhouse teleporter chief tink. Yeah,
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: that's so great.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: It looks a lot of drop creatures and logos.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: That guy saw that other that other all star of
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: art convex Way of the Wolf. I don't know.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: I thought there was some interesting items that were shown
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: from uh Reaper so with Way of the Pixie, so
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: some major ambergain. I think that you could go ahead
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: and se sports was an interesting choice to add in.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: The sizemone tanger is a little tricky. But from a
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: rules perspective, you have lost in the woods in here,
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: it's true. Yeah, you could also.
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: Not having discard pips is uh it's your thing for
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: beginners to handle.
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean overall, I look at this, I'm like, yeah,
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: I mean this is probably explainable, you know, not too crazy. No,
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: all right, no wins of Death moving in to more.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: I don't know what number we're on now, we've probably.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Well so yeah, we added from eight, we've already gone
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: to ninety ten. There you have weekly opie that we've
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: talked about. There's such excitement for the Mars event, so
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: I know that it can happen, but man, the lull
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: between the Mars events and anything else, it just it
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: was an absolute grand slam for Mars event and then
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: wah wah, wah.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: Well we go through like three major lulls in a year.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: To be honest with you, let's see, we go through
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: the lull between right now between Vault and I'm about
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: to what we're doing right now. So I guess just so, no,
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: that goes a thing.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: Really the I guess it's where it fit in. But
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: like the end of Vault season and when KFC that
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: feels pretty dead.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: Yeah, that's dead.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: And then this time after KFC too whatever Vaults start
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: up again, it's dead.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Well, store championships with store Championships happening essentially the very
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: very in February March. You're looking at March. But I
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: wish there was some incentive, like I wish that we're
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: building to those store championships. Does that make sense? Like
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: if I have local, I can go to it and
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: then oh, I show up in March and I'm gonna
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: play these decks that I've been pulling for Sealed or
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: that I think that I've been running for our kind
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: and I stand a chance, I'm I want to now
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: bring this back. There doesn't seem to be an incentive
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: to come out to pick up a deck to be
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: able to show up week after week. There doesn't seem
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: to be anything building up to the Storechampionshi, which all
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: of a sudden, it's just like a store Championships. Show
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: up and come and do it.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: There's no reason to show the first week, there's no
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: reason to go, you say, a week after that week one,
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: there's none.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: We have we have we have we have good people
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: and so that's why we show up.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: But again, if you're the community not company, I mean, like.
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: What are you going to be doing if you're not
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: playing g.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Ford touching myself.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Okay, I had a had a cup in my hand
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: and it's trying to drink and I mean, I don't know.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: I think the prize is okay, wow, Okay.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: So the thing is is that there's a lot of
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: middle aged individuals who are consistently playing this. There are
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: a lot of individuals who have families, and so if
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: you aren't being able to commit to weekly event, it
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: just gets sucked in too go to your kids' sporting events,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: or to spend time with your significant other. There are
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: other things that are always vying for your time, and
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: so I do think that GIG has to go out
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: of their way to create a system where people want
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: to spend time with others socially and that there is
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: some incentive to play their game. Frankly, we have We
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: had someone who used to play with us at our
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: locals who we see every single week, but they're playing
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: a different game. So people gravitate towards other games for
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: various reasons, but have a reason to come out. That's
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: what I think the company has to do, all right.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: I think it like flash mob advertisement, Like suddenly everybody
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: runs in, folding tables, snaps it open, plays a game,
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: runs away, flash stop. I think you'd have pissed off
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: game stars.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: Uh it's like in the park. Yeah at that baseball game,
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: that that t ball game that Yeah, he walks out,
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: well the park, your cards just blow away, so yeah
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: pretty soon flashps, that's okay, then you just run away. Yeah.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: I mean, at least you can reprint your decks now.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: I guess if it was one you cared about. The
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: last thing we have on our list tournament software still
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: delitching like a move them.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: I mean, we all said the Alliance restricted list. Where
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: is it?
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: I'm sorry I did, Yeah, Alliance Restricted List. This is
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: more of a twenty twenty five thing. But yeah, we
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: still don't have one of those. We already talked about that.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: This is how we get four weeks until store Championships
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: in the first Alliance, and.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: That can happen.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: So our Alliance event is just going to be a
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: sealed Alliance event. That's fine, But don't spend any money
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: till you know that.
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: I mean, it's key Forge, don't. I'm a akut of
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: money anyways.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I don't know. I think that there's been some increase
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: in the secondary market, which is healthy. I want to
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: be able to see that, frankly, especially as a competitive player.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: But people are definitely reaching out, and it seems to
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: be more for Alliance pods because you have as soon
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: as that list comes out, if you have not already
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: struck up the deal or hey, you have a deck
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: in hand, those decks are immediately going up in value.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: So it is a lot of repeat customers or repeat
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: individuals from our smaller community. But that's kind of what
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: I expect at this point. So I love our community.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: Yeah, committed to a all right.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: In regards to tournament software, Kirkment, No, we don't actually
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: have tournament software. Continue to use dex of key Forge
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: to tournament that's there.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: It's a real No, we do have tournament software that
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: we're supposed to be using. It was supposed wasn't it
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: supposed to be out to stores by Oh I don't
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: know tomorrow.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Well it was that was yesterday?
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: Was it yesterday? I'm sorry, my bad? So what was
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: the promise that was made to us?
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: Well, they did admit at at Worlds that that was
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: one of the things that they messed up.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: On, right, yeah, but that was last year. We did.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: This is this year. Then they said, yeah, well we'll
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: be getting out that tournament software.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: I I happened to know. I don't think this is
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: a secret. Nobody told me was a secret. If it's
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: a secret, so it's your guys fault if it's a secret.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: At Necho. Uh, the what's more call it is going
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: to be used. Uh play style is going to be
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: used at Necho until it doesn't load and we just
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: used the Okay, but you.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: Guys don't have you guys don't have a direct acces
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: still what's his name?
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: To fix it when it's broken? Yeah, that is a thing,
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: Like I just learned this that that's they mentioned that. Oh, yeah,
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: we're going to use it. I don't know after it
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: happens anyway.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: So according to Keyboarding, according to Keith Forging dot com,
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: under our organized play, you do have access to what
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: is organized play, and then they have playstyle two l
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: O tournaments, you do have access to play style. But again,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: just like we're talking about as it has had issues
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: at some of our vaults and worlds. Pretty much every
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: event that I've been to, it's had a issue. That's
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: a real concern, especially when we didn't necessarily need to
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: recreate this.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: I mean that.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: You can't there.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: This, but it definitely just feels like they tried to
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: do too much all at once with it. So like
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: I think it's a cool idea.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we didn't need it. We didn't need a double
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: elimination system. Everyone was more than happy with with Swiss. Nobody.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: Nobody was bitching about it. Well that's not one person
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: ever said, oh man, I really wish I was away
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: always about Nobody cared about like a Swiss format. Nobody
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: was like, oh man, a Swiss format. Ah Man, I
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: wish there was a way I could play and not
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: you have to.
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: Play all day the Swiss format. Okay, that's all that matters.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: Well, and I think that's where the problem comes in
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: at times is CTP has all the power and is
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: making some choices that we wouldn't make, and I don't
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: know if they're the best interest for our community.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: Like, I love how this is like a total like
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: attempt at marketing the two L O system, like this
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: whole thing.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: Well, I think that the article is hysterical if you
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: actually look. It was published in July twenty fifth of
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: twenty twenty three. But I really like at the bottom
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: improvements coming with Style, based on in no small part
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: by feedback from the Philly Vault Tour. Play Style is
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: already being enhanced, improved, and bugs fixed. Players will see
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: several improvements in the application at our next major tournament
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: being the gen Con twenty twenty three US Nationals update.
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: And it still breaks all the time. Just broke not
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: too long ago. Yeah, I should have I should have
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: asked my buds if they had a backup plan. If
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: play styles is crapped out, it's called Yeah, I mean,
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: it's just I don't Nobody asked for play styles. Nobody
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: asked for a double elimination pool, Nobody asked for any
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: of this and nobody was complaining. It's one of those
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: things like if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: we but we had to go fix it. So I did,
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: you know, I actually I did see. It's not play
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: style but different software stuff. I saw, uh the uh
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: one of the guys I think it was. I think
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: it might have been Middle So, or maybe it was
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: somebody else I forgot, but made streaming bumpers and uh
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: treatments and borders and all sorts of cool stuff. And
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: I saw it tonight. It's like, really cool. So folks
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: should watch streaming bumpers. Yeah, like around the actual Yeah,
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: like intros when it comes in you talking about overlays
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: and overlays whatever. I was like, what the fuck's on bumper?
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: I don't know, I've only heard that you bump. Yeah,
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: that's also drunk language.
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: Well, you know I don't work, So all right, let
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: me go back to our list. Are we done bitching
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: for the night? We've we've we've bitched for an hour
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: and twenty minutes. That's pretty par for the course.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: I mean, that's this is our weekly cast. I will
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: put out there a plea with prophetic visions. Go ahead,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: and if you're not willing Gigi as a company to
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: go ahead and put out gameplay so that others can
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: see it and visualize it, I think that it will
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: really help players. Go ahead and send it to some
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: of your content producers. Some of the people who have don't.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: I'm not talking even about us, there are others.
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: None of us matter to them.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: But that's you have to graces. You have to leverage.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: You have to leverage the ability to go ahead and
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: showcase your product that is okay but.
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: Not profit visions to the key for the players that
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: already play.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: Like no, no, no, no, no, no no, that this is
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: not about selling anymore. This is about being able to
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: showcase some of the play. So again, GG like, what's
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: that get them? It gets them players who better understand
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: the game. It gets buzz and excitement over the new
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: sets and what's actually happening, versus going ahead. We're trying to.
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: Look at like what they see and then it's a
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: bad choice.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: They already they've already ordered, they already thought, what does it.
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: Really cost them?
- 1:20:48Speaker 4: Well, it doesn't cost them anything to do nothing either,
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: is what I'm saying.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: So, but it doesn't cost them anything to do with
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Ewok is saying, right, I.
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: Think there's more risk and what Ewok is saying, and
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: it does take them time to provide stuff and make
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: sure what is being said is in line with what
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: they want.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: What has been told in past is that we don't
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: have the same setup that FFG has. Don't stress you
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: have now Roseville with some of the camera equipment that's there.
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: Oh no, they still don't have. They still don't have
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: the correct question.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: It doesn't need to be super flashy. It will not
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: be the same as FG. I get that, but put
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: it out. Let people see how a couple hands will
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: be played out. It will help people to better understand
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: PROTHETIC visions and future sets, and it builds buzz. We've already,
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: like you've shown some of the previews, it was after
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: the set was basically closed on game found. Go ahead
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: and open it up. There's no reason that would help
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: the players. It requires a little bit of work, but
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: again you can if you don't want to go ahead
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: and do the work.
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: And there are small people, they don't have the ability
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: to do that. They're a small team with a limited budget.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: Again, the dacks are there. Go ahead and make sure
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: that you can get them in the hands of some
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: of your content providers. Again, that doesn't need to be us,
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: but it will help. And I do think that players
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: who are passionate about the game, who invest way more
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: than they need to, will be the ones who are watching. Sure,
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: but they're also the ones who have to be your
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: best advocates to go out and hey, get this new set,
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: let's play this, let's build our local, let's come back,
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: and let's do this.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: So if t Forge had like the news set before
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: it came out like that would be probably cool. Is
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: that still a thing? I think so? I think I
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: still do it monthly. I watched one not too long ago.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: Candice is there. You can check when the last one
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: was produced. But again, yes, words to keep t Forge
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: and the access on board and geek would be really.
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: Two months ago was the last? Was the last one?
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: So I don't know any.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: Speaking of marketing, you can actually go ahead like the
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: other games. You can put out a few here win
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: these decks by learning about key Forge and learning about
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: the product. It's a small environment.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Six videos keep me coming back.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: But they were also looking to see how many watches
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: are happening, or to see if it's worthwhile to continue
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: going forward.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: Anything at this point is worthwhile. Well, I know that
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: maybe the board game.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: Geek, and that's the question for game you need to
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: produce for.
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: G G.
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: Any amount of watches is worth it right now? Any
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: because they're not. I mean, it's the same people every year.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: I mean, we haven't heard about any major departures this
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: year yet.
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: But you're pretty good at graping.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: I am pretty good at graping. But I'm still here, Bookers.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: He wants to make it better.
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: Because I want to make it work. I'm standing it
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: for the children. Okay, all right, with's that being said,
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: I think that about wraps it up. For the bottom ten.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: We had a top five and a bottom Tenait just
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: saying not not awesome, but that's gonna do it.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think there's nothing to lean into
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: for that top five, So there's improvement.
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: We're good, can not unless have quit, right, But the
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: problem is that the list is all kind of few
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: new things, couple of the same old, same old things.
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: But like we need to see traction on any of these,
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: Like gen CON's done, so we can throw that one
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: out the window. Right Still, though, do you guys know
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: what you're getting for your prizing for your Vault tours.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: The answer that is twenty four five. Yeah, But other
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: than that, the answer to that's kind of like no,
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: like we know we're probably there's probably gonna be a
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: trophy and pins cool, play mat yep and then VM
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: twenty five, So prizes still suck. Trophies are cool, pins
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: are cool. Please change what you're giving out. Hopefully they're
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: listening and do better on the like they do the
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: accolade stuff like that would be. Accolades are cool and all.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: But I just think again, like it's like what they did,
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: they kept doing with it. Well, now we're going to
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: lean into the special treatment. And once you like make
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: it not special anymore, it just becomes old. You have
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: to keep it special. You have to keep it fresh.
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: Once once you've you once you've went gone to that
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: well too much, nobody cares. I don't think they've gone
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: to the accolade too much yet, so not ye not,
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: we're not. We're not there yet. But like they sure
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: killed premium deck bordering.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: I know I like it.
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: I I couldn't care less. Where are all your pre.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: About it is? I actually pulled mine out I've created
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: a shelf for them and I'm showcasing them. So I
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: do think that it was worthwhile. All right, minor in
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: the box, they're about to become trash course problem. Yeah,
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: so that you can make your sets, right.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: I thought we uh, I thought we just ship all
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: our excess decks to quick draw. I thoughts what we
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: did on this cast.
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: That was our pledge that we agreed to.
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: Wow, we did that is appropriate?
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know who this we is. We all
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: agreed to, but I wasn't a part of this conversation,
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: just saying but.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: No, when we're looking at it, go ahead, No, no,
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: go ahead, go ahead and sank like we need to
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: always finish with the positive. You have your organized play,
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: your vault continuation is happening. They're at game stores, KFC
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: is still nice and long. We should have another event
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: similar to our Civil war. We have deck accolades that
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: are actually here. The one percent increase was that deck
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: clones actually happened. Now reminders was amazing or horrible depending
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: on which society came in. There's some home base. So yes,
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: which of these ten items can we go ahead and
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: track down? And I really think that it comes down
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: to some set design, playing things out, spreading it into
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: a more consistent focus, eliminating things that frankly aren't necessary
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: like repetitive vault master or slimming down our set lists.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: But increase your player account for worlds and for things
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: and meaningful and then be consistent when you actually have
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: your vaults. So I think that's that's there, and then
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: advertise and actually have op It's a lot, but I
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: think with the right group things can improve. Will it happen?
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: It's always interesting to come and listen to this a
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: year or two later and see what what's happened or hasn't.
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: So go listen to our last year's episode.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Why not go ahead and even listen to some of
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: the complaints that we had for FFT. I think that
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: that's it is interesting to see.
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: I mean, they haven't advertised on pornhub yet, so they
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: didn't think that suggestion not.
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: Maybe wine are not succeeding.
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: Now, Maybe I should just start posting these unporn hub
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: and seeing what kind of hits they get.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: I am, I am?
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: Should they take them down? If they're not porn you
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: could you could you could do a nip slip there, Yeah,
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: do they take it down if it's not. What if
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: it's AI porn, there's probably a whole section for that.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: I'm sure, I'm sure there is. But I'm just saying, like,
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: if it's just our voices over that, like, is that count?
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: Do they take it down if it's not? Like I
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: don't really know, Like I don't know.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: Huh So anyone was still listening at this point. If
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: there's something that we will, go ahead and hit up
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: our beautiful discord.
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: Actually and you walk underscore on the discord.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: But know that you actually cleaned up the server. It
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: looks really nice now, so I'm proud of you man,
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: you did some good work. Or some the icons, yeah,
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: they're they're icons. It looks very very classy. Go ahead,
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: if we miss something on this list, what does gig
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: really need to fix for next year? Go ahead and
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: put it out and hopefully you can get some marketing,
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: you know, t foro YouTube content creators, get some actual
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: gameplay what we'll see. But I'm curious what what did
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: we miss? What do we miss?
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: And with that being said, we will see y'all next week.
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: Happy forging everyone, May
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: The Forge be with you so many
