ART THEFT: The Scream
In February 1994, thieves scaled the wall of the National Gallery in Oslo and removed Edvard Munch's The Scream in approximately fifty seconds; a decade later, armed men walked into the Munch Museum in broad daylight and took a second version of the painting along with Madonna. Both paintings were eventually recovered, but the identities of all accomplices in the 1994 theft remain officially unresolved, and the full account of where the stolen works were hidden for two years has never been publicly disclosed.
Anyone with information about either theft or the whereabouts of the paintings…
