- 1:57Speaker 3: great relationship from meeting you in the hotel two years
- 2:01Speaker 3: ago now and we did that legendary episode and you know,
- 2:05Speaker 3: we've just been in communication ever since. You know, you've
- 2:08Speaker 3: taken us to Ethiopian restaurants and teaching us how to
- 2:12Speaker 3: eat with our hands. So first and foremost, Man, I
- 2:18Speaker 3: appreciate the brotherhood. I appreciate, you know, just being around
- 2:22Speaker 3: you guys. Man, you guys are super solid and just
- 2:24Speaker 3: real old school principles. I really like the whole, the
- 2:27Speaker 3: whole entire team, Man, So first and foremost, thank you
- 2:30Speaker 3: for always you know, working with us and you know,
- 2:33Speaker 3: just just being solid with us.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Man.
- 2:35Speaker 5: I greatly appreciate it, Man.
- 2:37Speaker 6: You know likewise, Man, I really appreciate you guys. Appreciate
- 2:41Speaker 6: just everything Man that you guys do. You know, as
- 2:45Speaker 6: a fan of what you guys do, Man, definitely you know,
- 2:48Speaker 6: aligned with what Hustle believed in. And you know just
- 2:52Speaker 6: from from watching Man, you know, just proud and appreciative Man.
- 2:56Speaker 6: And then also just all the opportunities and you know,
- 3:00Speaker 6: the way you involve us and just even this with
- 3:03Speaker 6: you know, involved a Hustle and definitely preach it to
- 3:06Speaker 6: the whole team and the family.
- 3:07Speaker 5: So I appreciate it. So I want to make a
- 3:09Speaker 5: special announcement.
- 3:10Speaker 3: And so this year for Investmvest, we're going to have
- 3:15Speaker 3: marathon there and they're going to be having a pop up.
- 3:19Speaker 3: So get your merch. I got to re up on
- 3:22Speaker 3: my merch too. They're gonna have exclusive merch. They're gonna
- 3:25Speaker 3: be in the vendor marketplace. It's going to be that's
- 3:28Speaker 3: going to be one of the craziest activations I'm sure
- 3:30Speaker 3: and invest fast history. But you know, when talking to
- 3:33Speaker 3: Sammy was like, you know, let's let's do something like,
- 3:36Speaker 3: really do something impactful. So we were just thinking, like,
- 3:39Speaker 3: what what can we do impactful outside of just having
- 3:42Speaker 3: them there setting up shop, you know, selling merch and
- 3:45Speaker 3: you know, a panel. But it's like, okay, now we
- 3:47Speaker 3: can do a panel, but what what can we do
- 3:49Speaker 3: even more impactful? So it is my honor to announce
- 3:54Speaker 3: the Nipsey Hustle Business Grant Pitch Competition.
- 3:58Speaker 7: So we are going that's let that agreed.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, one hundred thousand dollars. One hundred thousand dollars will
- 4:08Speaker 3: be rewarded to an entrepreneur. I'll talk about you know,
- 4:13Speaker 3: the instructions later, but one hundred thousand dollars will be
- 4:15Speaker 3: rewarded to an entrepreneur. And what we're going to do
- 4:19Speaker 3: is we're going to have a social media campaign. So
- 4:22Speaker 3: you have to be an invest fst ticket holder. You
- 4:24Speaker 3: make an Instagram video explaining your business and while one
- 4:28Speaker 3: hundred thousand dollars can help you, you tag invest Festival,
- 4:31Speaker 3: Marathon clothing and earn your leisure. You complete the form
- 4:34Speaker 3: that's on invest fst website investfest dot com pitch competition
- 4:39Speaker 3: and from there, over the next thirty eight thirty to
- 4:42Speaker 3: forty five days. We're going to pick one hundred and
- 4:45Speaker 3: fifty participants, right one hundred. One hundred will be pre
- 4:49Speaker 3: selected from the social media campaign, and then we're going
- 4:52Speaker 3: to do fifty walking. So even if you're not selected,
- 4:55Speaker 3: you still have opportunity if you have an invest Fest ticket.
- 4:58Speaker 5: First come, first serve on Friday.
- 5:01Speaker 3: So Friday is gonna be like American Idol, and we
- 5:04Speaker 3: won't be judging it, so don't try to bribe me.
- 5:06Speaker 3: But we're gonna have judges. We're gonna have a hundred,
- 5:11Speaker 3: We're gonna have one hundred and fish. We're gonna have
- 5:14Speaker 3: one hundred and fifty participants on Friday, August twenty third.
- 5:18Speaker 3: That's gonna be able to pitch for a minute or
- 5:20Speaker 3: two minutes, and then that's gonna be narrowed down to
- 5:22Speaker 3: four to the judge is gonna pick their top four
- 5:26Speaker 3: and then on Saturday, we will be on stage myself, Troy,
- 5:31Speaker 3: Sam JP Adam, and we will listen to the top
- 5:36Speaker 3: four chosen from the judges. You gotta have a visual
- 5:40Speaker 3: presentation and from there we will pick the winner, which
- 5:45Speaker 3: will be the winner of the Nipsey Hustle. Business Grant
- 5:48Speaker 3: Pitch competition. You will receive one hundred thousand dollars. We
- 5:51Speaker 3: gotta think our friends at Microsoft. This is sponsored by
- 5:54Speaker 3: Marathon ey L and Microsoft, and I really feel like
- 5:58Speaker 3: this is gonna change somebody's life. So Seim, I just
- 6:01Speaker 3: want to I just want to let you speak because obviously,
- 6:04Speaker 3: you know, whenever we involve Bro's name, you know it
- 6:07Speaker 3: has to come through the family and has to get
- 6:09Speaker 3: the blessings. So I know you know you obviously no
- 6:14Speaker 3: Nick better than anybody, right, So it's like you you
- 6:17Speaker 3: share a story with me about how he used to
- 6:20Speaker 3: always give game to entrepreneurs and you'd be like, yo,
- 6:22Speaker 3: you're given too much, but he like nah. So it's like, know,
- 6:25Speaker 3: this is something that I know would be near and
- 6:27Speaker 3: dear to his heart right as far as helping the
- 6:29Speaker 3: next generation of entrepreneurs, helping somebody start their business. So
- 6:32Speaker 3: can you just speak about what this would mean to
- 6:35Speaker 3: to Nip?
- 6:36Speaker 6: Yeah, Man is an honor And just like you said, Bro,
- 6:41Speaker 6: that's what hustle was about. Like I told you, it's
- 6:47Speaker 6: you know, anytime hustle seeing anybody young or the ambition
- 6:53Speaker 6: to to to go for it and do something, especially
- 6:55Speaker 6: with entrepreneurship.
- 6:56Speaker 8: He he thrived off of that.
- 6:58Speaker 6: He would stop what he was doing, he would share
- 7:01Speaker 6: stories with them, he would give him give them his
- 7:04Speaker 6: plans on things that you know, we hadn't even put,
- 7:08Speaker 6: hadn't even finished. So a lot of time, like you say,
- 7:10Speaker 6: we would be like hold on, bro on, like nah, man, man,
- 7:14Speaker 6: my shit got to inspire.
- 7:16Speaker 8: My ship is here that you know, it's bigger. I like,
- 7:19Speaker 8: you know, motivating.
- 7:20Speaker 6: So he would tap back into and the best thing
- 7:23Speaker 6: he would love to see is, you know, people accomplishing things.
- 7:27Speaker 6: It was like that was his high seeing seeing people
- 7:30Speaker 6: do things and accomplished things. So you know that just
- 7:33Speaker 6: made him smile and he always went out out of
- 7:35Speaker 6: his way to help. So definitely, this is this would
- 7:39Speaker 6: be something he would be just proud of and happy.
- 7:43Speaker 6: So you know, it's a line one hundred percent with
- 7:45Speaker 6: his beliefs and you know, one hundred thousand two to
- 7:49Speaker 6: somebody to start their business. Man. That's that's that's that's
- 7:52Speaker 6: that's wonderful man. So definitely appreciate it.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Man.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that's super substantial. Man.
- 7:57Speaker 1: When you were talking, it just made me think of
- 7:59Speaker 1: grinding all my life, like that's in my head that's
- 8:01Speaker 1: playing on. I had for all the people that are
- 8:02Speaker 1: going to enter the pitch competition, like, what are some
- 8:05Speaker 1: of the qualities that you look to see in an entrepreneur.
- 8:11Speaker 6: You know, I like seeing somebody that's just you know,
- 8:15Speaker 6: especially coming from from the bottom man just twenty four
- 8:18Speaker 6: to seven, understanding that, uh the you know, your success
- 8:23Speaker 6: is going to be measured on how much work you
- 8:25Speaker 6: put in, and really somebody that's willing to take it
- 8:28Speaker 6: to the next level and just stay down. I think
- 8:33Speaker 6: for us, you know, anytime we speak to anybody, anytime hustle,
- 8:36Speaker 6: we speak to anybody, it's like, man, just keep going,
- 8:38Speaker 6: and you know it's it's the marathon mentality, Like it's
- 8:42Speaker 6: not gonna happen quick. Just keep going in a brick
- 8:45Speaker 6: a day. That's what he will always tell everybody, and
- 8:48Speaker 6: I think that resonates. So for me, I just like
- 8:50Speaker 6: to see somebody that's that's been going at it and
- 8:53Speaker 6: what we call them like snipers, somebody that's on it
- 8:55Speaker 6: up early, you know, going in late, just motivated, dedicated,
- 9:00Speaker 6: pushing everything else to the side with you know, with
- 9:02Speaker 6: with their eyes on one on the goal and success.
- 9:07Speaker 7: You talked about old school principles for the entrepreneurs, What
- 9:10Speaker 7: are like three principles that you guys operate by that
- 9:13Speaker 7: you want to see more businesses operate with and also
- 9:16Speaker 7: like for for growing their brand? What are three tips
- 9:18Speaker 7: you can give them in twenty twenty four to help
- 9:20Speaker 7: them elevate to get to the next level.
- 9:24Speaker 6: I think just just consistency and just understanding that you know,
- 9:29Speaker 6: you know in business you're gonna learn, so you have
- 9:32Speaker 6: to be willing to take you know, the ups and
- 9:34Speaker 6: the downs, and just keep going and just keep reinvesting
- 9:38Speaker 6: most importantly, reinvest in the business. You know, keep reinvesting, reinvesting,
- 9:43Speaker 6: reinvesting and learning, and I think I think everything will
- 9:48Speaker 6: be okay. Just once again, stay at it, don't give up,
- 9:53Speaker 6: and just stay focused and also hold yourself accountable, hold
- 9:56Speaker 6: yourself to a to a to a high standard because
- 10:00Speaker 6: you know that that that that's what it really depends on.
- 10:03Speaker 8: It depends on your motivation and your consistency.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Well, Sam Man, once again, I appreciate it.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Man. I know we extended conversation at a vest fest,
- 10:13Speaker 3: so I don't want to keep you too long, but
- 10:15Speaker 3: once again, I just want to thank you guys for
- 10:17Speaker 3: coming and you know a just being in the Vendom
- 10:21Speaker 3: marketplace because that was the original conversation. I was like, Yo,
- 10:23Speaker 3: we need you in the Vendom marketplace because I just
- 10:25Speaker 3: thought that would be really dope to have Marathon as
- 10:29Speaker 3: a representation in the vendor marketplace. I saw, I saw
- 10:31Speaker 3: a complex can So we're gonna we're gonna try to
- 10:34Speaker 3: get the brink trump if we can. We're gonna try
- 10:36Speaker 3: to get the brinksho no pressure, no pressure, pressure, but
- 10:42Speaker 3: over the culture needs it for sure. But over and
- 10:45Speaker 3: everything just came organically, like you know, we even having
- 10:47Speaker 3: Lauren there. That came separate. So I think it's just
- 10:50Speaker 3: really dope to have that. You know, I feel like
- 10:52Speaker 3: it's just all in alignment. And you know, like I said,
- 10:56Speaker 3: just me and you guys, the whole entire team.
- 10:58Speaker 7: Man.
- 10:59Speaker 3: You know, I really felt like, you know, you guys
- 11:02Speaker 3: are just really really genuine good people. And so the
- 11:05Speaker 3: last thing I would like you to say is, I
- 11:07Speaker 3: know the Marathon store is coming soon and everybody has
- 11:12Speaker 3: been waiting, So can you give the people an update
- 11:15Speaker 3: on what they should expect when they can expect it
- 11:19Speaker 3: For the physical location of the Marathon store, Yeah, one
- 11:23Speaker 3: hundred percent.
- 11:23Speaker 6: We're looking to by the end of this year. It's
- 11:26Speaker 6: still under construction. It's almost finished right now. We've got
- 11:29Speaker 6: the rooftop open on the Mailroads location, but it should
- 11:33Speaker 6: be a big announcement, hopefully a big grand opening and
- 11:36Speaker 6: finally get the retail space back open.
- 11:40Speaker 3: And then also Neighborhood NIT Foundation. An't thing you want
- 11:42Speaker 3: to say about that. I know you got that location
- 11:44Speaker 3: that's on Crenshaw and Slawson, So what's the deal with that.
- 11:47Speaker 8: Yeah, No, one hundred percent. We've been twenty four to
- 11:49Speaker 8: seven remoleeling it.
- 11:50Speaker 6: We build a studio in there, we're gonna bring back
- 11:55Speaker 6: the Vector ninety and just that's gonna be Neighborhood NIT Foundation.
- 11:59Speaker 6: You know, that's the mecca, man, That's that's where everything happened.
- 12:03Speaker 6: That's that that that that's Hustle's vision. So for us
- 12:08Speaker 6: in the family Man, when we were just thinking about it,
- 12:10Speaker 6: it was a no brainer. That's that needs to be
- 12:12Speaker 6: the location for the Neighborhood NIP Foundation.
- 12:14Speaker 8: And same thing.
- 12:15Speaker 6: Top of the year, we've been going all at it
- 12:19Speaker 6: and it's almost ready, so that'll be you know, one
- 12:21Speaker 6: of the grand openers, man that we really anticipating.
- 12:26Speaker 5: I appreciate you, my brother man. Thank you, see you soon.
- 12:30Speaker 3: One hundred thousand dollars, Nipsey, hustle, business grant, pitch competition,
- 12:34Speaker 3: ladies and gentlemen, all that in Best Fest. We want
- 12:37Speaker 3: to thank Microsoft, we want to thank the marathon. And
- 12:41Speaker 3: I'm interested to see with these entrepreneurs. I want to
- 12:45Speaker 3: see how I want to see how hungry people really are, man,
- 12:47Speaker 3: because it's like, you know, for me personally, one hundred
- 12:50Speaker 3: thousand dollars, just starting a business like I would have been,
- 12:53Speaker 3: I would have already made the video, would already makes
- 12:57Speaker 3: like what I'm saying. So I want to I want
- 12:59Speaker 3: to see how how hungry these entrepreneurs are. But I'm
- 13:02Speaker 3: really also very excited to see, you know, the level
- 13:06Speaker 3: of excellence from businesses. I know there's a lot of
- 13:07Speaker 3: people with great ideas, especially like in technology. I'm sure
- 13:10Speaker 3: that there's a lot of people with different maybe even
- 13:12Speaker 3: artificial intelligence and different dope ideas that they got crazy vision,
- 13:17Speaker 3: but they just need a little bit of money just
- 13:18Speaker 3: to kind of get them off the ground. So I'm
- 13:20Speaker 3: actually very excited to see this play out. And once again,
- 13:26Speaker 3: thank you for taking time out your day.
- 13:28Speaker 5: Brother. I appreciate you.
- 13:29Speaker 8: Man. Once again, Man appreciate you.
- 13:31Speaker 6: Guys, appreciate the opportunity and definitely man, thank you.
- 13:35Speaker 2: No appreciate it. My brother, thank you.
- 13:37Speaker 5: I appreciate you so much.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Peace flags all in the chat.
- 13:40Speaker 5: There you go.
- 13:41Speaker 2: That's a fact, honorable. When you were talking about one
- 13:45Speaker 2: hundred thousand.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Think about that, right, Like when we talk about private
- 13:48Speaker 1: equity adventure capital not coming to our community, like one
- 13:51Speaker 1: hundred thousand, somebody who's starting a business thinking about life
- 13:56Speaker 1: about right, like.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I'm thinking about red im thinking about earlier. What would
- 13:59Speaker 2: we look like it with.
- 14:00Speaker 1: One hundred thousand. It's just it's bigger than a stimulus, man,
- 14:03Speaker 1: It's that important. And I told you this is going
- 14:05Speaker 1: to be the most impactful. Yeah, we've been saying it.
- 14:07Speaker 1: We've been saying it. So that's how we're kicking it off.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Let me just say something because it's like, you know, man,
- 14:13Speaker 3: you know sometimes in life, you you meet people that
- 14:16Speaker 3: you you feel like you already knew them, but you didn't,
- 14:18Speaker 3: you never met them before, right, And that's how I
- 14:21Speaker 3: feel with Sam and the whole team. And you know,
- 14:24Speaker 3: Sam very malmanned reserve doesn't really speak too much, but
- 14:28Speaker 3: I understand that he's a Pisces.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Okay, so he's just March one, a March one.
- 14:36Speaker 2: He left that part out.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Early, so saying, you know, man, I look at it like,
- 14:42Speaker 3: you know, they don't really do too much, right, that's obvious,
- 14:47Speaker 3: Like as far as so it's like, you know too.
- 14:49Speaker 5: And trust us with with the legacy.
- 14:53Speaker 3: That means something and that's something that we don't We
- 14:56Speaker 3: don't take for granted doing the interview that they entrusted us.
- 14:59Speaker 3: They haven't never interurgy like that before. They entrusted us
- 15:01Speaker 3: with that right now would investvests that they're entrusting us
- 15:05Speaker 3: with this. So I say that to say, you guys
- 15:09Speaker 3: take this serious, right, you guys take this serious because
- 15:12Speaker 3: it's like one hundred thousand dollars is one thing, but
- 15:15Speaker 3: what's bigger than that is that when whoever wins this
- 15:18Speaker 3: hundred thousand dollars, you're carrying on.
- 15:21Speaker 5: The legacy of Nipsey Hustle.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Right, So yeah, you're gonna get one hundred thousand dollars
- 15:26Speaker 3: and that's great, six figures. There's no strings attached, but
- 15:30Speaker 3: you you have Nipsey Hustle. Like they took nip from us,
- 15:34Speaker 3: but he's still with us, right, and he's still living
- 15:38Speaker 3: and the marathon still continues. So the person that wins
- 15:41Speaker 3: one hundred thousand dollars that energy that he inspired me,
- 15:44Speaker 3: he inspired Troy, he inspired millions of people. That's going
- 15:47Speaker 3: to be a direct correlation transfer over to you. That's
- 15:52Speaker 3: a deposit that's bigger than one hundred thousand dollars, right,
- 15:55Speaker 3: So be mindful of that.
- 15:57Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:58Speaker 3: So once again, just just to RecA app we will
- 16:02Speaker 3: be doing the Nipsey Hustle Business Grant Pitch Competition one
- 16:09Speaker 3: hundred thousand dollars at this year's invest Fest. To enter
- 16:16Speaker 3: to win, you must be an invest Fest ticket holder.
- 16:20Speaker 3: General mission doesn't matter. Invest Fest ticket holder. You must
- 16:25Speaker 3: create an Instagram video right explaining your business and how
- 16:31Speaker 3: one hundred thousand dollars can help your business. Tag in
- 16:35Speaker 3: the video tag invest Festival, tag marathon clothing, and tag
- 16:39Speaker 3: earn your Leisure. You also must complete a form, an
- 16:42Speaker 3: entry form which is on investfest dot com, invest Fest
- 16:46Speaker 3: dot com slash Pitch Competition. Complete the form right, because
- 16:50Speaker 3: we want to make sure you actually this is a
- 16:51Speaker 3: real thing. We're actually really don't it's not just no
- 16:54Speaker 3: random thing. We will choose one hundred pre selected people.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Right.
- 17:00Speaker 3: I want to make this very clear, because these pitch
- 17:03Speaker 3: competitions people get very wow. One hundred people that make
- 17:08Speaker 3: Instagram videos and that fill out the form and that
- 17:11Speaker 3: have tickets will be chosen before investments. We will notify
- 17:15Speaker 3: you via email. You will be notified you, you will
- 17:17Speaker 3: have instructions on what to do. On August twenty third,
- 17:24Speaker 3: those hundred people will audition, and then another fifty walk ins.
- 17:31Speaker 3: The fifty walk ins even if you don't make the
- 17:34Speaker 3: one hundred pre selected, if you have an invest Fest
- 17:37Speaker 3: ticket and you filled out the form, first come, first serve, right,
- 17:44Speaker 3: first fifty. This is the first fifty people that come
- 17:50Speaker 3: will be granted access to auditions. So that would be
- 17:54Speaker 3: what time should they get there?
- 17:55Speaker 2: And what day?
- 17:57Speaker 3: The day is August twenty third, which is a Friday.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I'm not sure what time the doors open up yet.
- 18:02Speaker 3: We'll be talking about this, but.
- 18:05Speaker 7: Hey, I was get there thirty o'clock in the morning.
- 18:08Speaker 7: What times did you get that for Thursday night? Since
- 18:12Speaker 7: of seven o'clock in the morning a.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Waiting line for tickets?
- 18:16Speaker 1: Yes, your business, the functional aspect of your business, if
- 18:22Speaker 1: it's relying on a stimulus, that's how important it is
- 18:26Speaker 1: you get there before that.
- 18:27Speaker 3: And I'll tell you this, three people will be chosen
- 18:31Speaker 3: from the hundred. So out of the hundred people that's
- 18:34Speaker 3: pre selected, three people will be chosen. One person will
- 18:37Speaker 3: be selected from the walkings. So don't think that if
- 18:40Speaker 3: it's just a walking, you're just gonna wait. Out of
- 18:42Speaker 3: those fifty people that are walkings, we will have one
- 18:45Speaker 3: person selected from the walkings. How bad you want it
- 18:48Speaker 3: will determine how early you get there. I can't tell
- 18:51Speaker 3: you what time to get there. I don't know. There
- 18:53Speaker 3: might be everybody might wake up late that day. You
- 18:55Speaker 3: might be able just to walk in at nine o'clock.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Who knows, be a huge mistake.
- 18:59Speaker 7: That also says the part who really wants it and
- 19:01Speaker 7: who doesn't. And like you said, I would have shot
- 19:03Speaker 7: the video already. If you got a working product or
- 19:06Speaker 7: working service, it would be great to have them tag
- 19:08Speaker 7: them to and say, hey, they've been helping me the
- 19:10Speaker 7: entire time, Like if you were doing like what Edwin
- 19:12Speaker 7: has been doing the last three or four years, facts
- 19:15Speaker 7: supporting events before you need to help, can we talk
- 19:17Speaker 7: about that before you need to help.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I put it on my post yesterday too.
- 19:22Speaker 7: A lot of times, some of you may not have
- 19:24Speaker 7: gotten your blessing because when you got the opportunity, you
- 19:26Speaker 7: were not lower to the opportunity that you got.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Take full advantage.
- 19:30Speaker 7: Be there early. If you have an amazing business, be
- 19:33Speaker 7: there early. Have helped already, if you've supported any of
- 19:36Speaker 7: us and may help you a little bit, Get there early.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Don't come in twelve fifteen. That's to me.
- 19:42Speaker 7: No, no, no, no, no, no, I can't do nothing.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Got no number facts.
- 19:48Speaker 5: So that's the deal, ladies and gentlemen. That is the deal.
- 19:52Speaker 3: And if you're a vendor, if you're a vendor, then
- 19:54Speaker 3: you qualify as an invest Fest ticket holder also so
- 19:57Speaker 3: you can participate if you're a vendor. So look, man,
- 20:00Speaker 3: you know how we respond to hey is love because
- 20:07Speaker 3: love always wins, right, So you know, when thinking about
- 20:13Speaker 3: invest Fest twenty four, we wanted to see how we
- 20:16Speaker 3: can be as impactful as possible.
- 20:18Speaker 5: This is just the first.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Initiative that were rolling out. By the way, this is
- 20:22Speaker 3: just but this is this is something that means a lot.
- 20:25Speaker 3: That's why we wanted to go this out.
- 20:26Speaker 5: First.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Thank you to Adam, thank you to JP, thank you
- 20:30Speaker 3: to Sam, thank you to Lauren, thank you to everybody
- 20:34Speaker 3: in Hustle's family, thank you to rock Nation, thank you
- 20:38Speaker 3: to the whole team. Man, those guys are amazing. So
- 20:42Speaker 3: if you if you got love for Nip Hustle, if
- 20:44Speaker 3: you got love for Marathon, the first thing you should
- 20:46Speaker 3: do is just be at investments to actually go to
- 20:49Speaker 3: the pop up shot pop up shots gonna.
- 20:50Speaker 5: Go crazy to see them. No, you got to see
- 20:53Speaker 5: them in person.
- 20:54Speaker 2: We can't stress that enough. You're not going to see.
- 20:57Speaker 5: This their first pop up in Atlanta in ten years.
- 20:59Speaker 5: They told me so.
- 21:01Speaker 3: To be able to actually get the drop, see them,
- 21:04Speaker 3: talk to the bros, take pictures. Like I said, I
- 21:07Speaker 3: hope we get that Brink truck.
- 21:09Speaker 7: And get some game from them at the be there early.
- 21:12Speaker 7: And if we're gonna be honest, they were on that
- 21:14Speaker 7: crypto wave in the black community before anybody else was
- 21:17Speaker 7: plenty of videos years ago.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I remember watching twenty seventeen in the Netherlands in a
- 21:22Speaker 1: coffee shop talking.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Crypto before people were so yeah, and you know, saying,
- 21:26Speaker 5: he not.
- 21:26Speaker 3: He don't want me to say this, obviously, because he's
- 21:28Speaker 3: just a very male manned and a very humble person.
- 21:31Speaker 3: But Sam top five realists people alive from realist people alive.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Five you got five of that.
- 21:39Speaker 5: I'm just saying it's top two.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Maybe not, maybe not.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I mean like we we We've been there for a
- 21:46Speaker 1: lot of these conversations.
- 21:47Speaker 2: I've seen it in.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Person, realist people alive. When I say real I mean
- 21:50Speaker 5: a real person exactly.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Like you know what I mean, Like don't across the
- 21:54Speaker 3: board in the day and age, but everybody wants to
- 21:56Speaker 3: gossip and show you out, really speak about themselves and
- 22:00Speaker 3: talk about other people. Never it's like ghost face killer,
- 22:04Speaker 3: Like don't speak, don't show their face, don't stay behind
- 22:07Speaker 3: the scenes, put other people in like positions. I'm good,
- 22:11Speaker 3: Like I don't need to be on camera. You know
- 22:13Speaker 3: what I'm saying, do good business, keep his word. That's
- 22:16Speaker 3: for the whole team. The last thing I say about
- 22:21Speaker 3: this is, you know, it's just unfortunate because we never
- 22:23Speaker 3: got a chance to meet Nip. But everything happens for
- 22:26Speaker 3: a reason. And you know it's one thing that we
- 22:28Speaker 3: developed relationships with every single person close to him, everybody, right,
- 22:32Speaker 3: but now this is just a different level of reverence.
- 22:37Speaker 3: And and like I said, we can only do this
- 22:39Speaker 3: with the blessings of his family. Right, So for for
- 22:42Speaker 3: you guys watching, don't try to throw Nip's name on something, right,
- 22:46Speaker 3: and you never met the family, you never don't.
- 22:48Speaker 5: That's disrespectful.
- 22:49Speaker 3: We would never throw somebody's name on something if we
- 22:51Speaker 3: don't actually have a relationship, if it wasn't actually powered,
- 22:53Speaker 3: if it wasn't supported by person's family. So that's just
- 22:57Speaker 3: for business ethics, one on one, right, But man, this
- 23:01Speaker 3: is just this is dope for me personally. I know
- 23:04Speaker 3: Troy feel the same way and everybody, but I can
- 23:06Speaker 3: only speak for me, like, this is dope for me
- 23:08Speaker 3: being such a fan of everything that Nips stood for
- 23:11Speaker 3: and his business acumen and his music and you know, matter.
- 23:16Speaker 1: A person for I hear there's a part of it
- 23:20Speaker 1: that still feels a little bit bittersweet. But yeah, it's
- 23:24Speaker 1: like he's not here, but like I said, that he
- 23:26Speaker 1: lives to us in the work that we're doing and
- 23:28Speaker 1: obviously what the marathon continues, which is the slogan.
- 23:31Speaker 2: So that makes it dope, man.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I mean, but a lot of what you just spoke
- 23:34Speaker 1: about is the relationships, like relationship building.
- 23:37Speaker 2: We're talking about two years.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Shout out to Dave Gross, shout out to Steve Carlins,
- 23:41Speaker 1: like a bunch of people who have said the same thing. Look,
- 23:45Speaker 1: he would have loved what y'all doing. We love what
- 23:47Speaker 1: you're doing. Let's figure something out. And so again, we
- 23:51Speaker 1: can't say how much relationships mean to us, but this
- 23:53Speaker 1: is a perfect example of just staying with integrity and
- 23:58Speaker 1: leading with value, right, Like, this wouldn't work if we
- 24:01Speaker 1: weren't doing the work in our community that we were.
- 24:03Speaker 1: So shout to him, Shout out the neighborhood and neb Foundation.
- 24:06Speaker 1: That's going to be incredible. Shout out to the launch
- 24:07Speaker 1: of the marathon. I saw on Melrose. Well, you know
- 24:10Speaker 1: you could probably see it. You're probably gonna see us there.
- 24:12Speaker 1: But yeah, let's keep this thing.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Going krinshaw and slaughting. That's where it all started. Yeah,
- 24:17Speaker 3: and I can't wait for that.
- 24:18Speaker 5: To open up. That that Neighborhood NIP Foundation. Man, that's
- 24:20Speaker 5: gonna be.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Back to ninety as well, amazing experience. Yea, all right,
- 24:25Speaker 3: marathon continues. Fact back to regularly scheduled programming.
- 24:31Speaker 5: And well, he was.
- 24:32Speaker 7: About to be one of the biggest real estate developers.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Like, yeah, billion dollars practice seemen and what if our
- 24:40Speaker 3: investments have become strategic about to make my partners look
- 24:43Speaker 3: like geniuses and they're crazy.
- 24:45Speaker 7: It's crazy to say, but at the time when he passed,
- 24:49Speaker 7: Nipsey was probably ranked higher in entrepreneurship than Sam Altman was.
- 24:52Speaker 7: And Sam went on to do chagy bet and open
- 24:55Speaker 7: the eye what he was thinking about other people were
- 24:58Speaker 7: not talking about eight nine years ago.
- 25:00Speaker 3: It's like I always say, what's the difference between Kanye
- 25:02Speaker 3: West and Elon Musk?
- 25:03Speaker 5: Right?
- 25:04Speaker 3: Did it pretty much the same person? One has different experiences,
- 25:07Speaker 3: one has just a career path, one has a different upbringing.
- 25:09Speaker 3: So one person is the richest, second richest person in
- 25:11Speaker 3: the world. Other person's a billionaire two or six hundred million.
- 25:14Speaker 3: But what you're exposed to right Also, if he was
- 25:18Speaker 3: raised Dave Gross is a perfect example this. Dave Gross
- 25:22Speaker 3: is the person that actually introduced us to everybody. Dave,
- 25:24Speaker 3: wherever you are in the world right now, shout out
- 25:27Speaker 3: to you. I haven't spoken to him a long time.
- 25:29Speaker 3: But so Dave Gross is an interesting story because he's
- 25:32Speaker 3: from South central LA. He's from the neighborhood, right, But
- 25:35Speaker 3: he moved out. His parents moved him out to Texas
- 25:39Speaker 3: when he was a kid, and it changed his life.
- 25:44Speaker 3: His brother stayed in the neighborhood, and unfortunately they took
- 25:48Speaker 3: a path of a traditional you know that what you
- 25:51Speaker 3: would think would happen in that neighborhood. He went to
- 25:54Speaker 3: Texas and he went to Ivy League school and then
- 25:58Speaker 3: he had a twenty year career on Walsh Street and
- 26:02Speaker 3: got mentored by Don Peebles, became a real estate investor,
- 26:04Speaker 3: slash developer, very prestigious career. Then he came back and
- 26:10Speaker 3: he's connected with Nip because when he came back to
- 26:13Speaker 3: La he was he kept hearing about the kid Nipsey
- 26:16Speaker 3: Hustle from his neighborhood and he's like, I want to
- 26:18Speaker 3: meet this kid. And he connected with his brother who
- 26:23Speaker 3: are it was in the same fraternity of Nip and
- 26:29Speaker 3: and they introduced him and and then he started mentoring
- 26:35Speaker 3: Nip on business. I say that to say, what if
- 26:40Speaker 3: Nip would have been raised in Orange County, in not
- 26:43Speaker 3: south central LA he could have potentially started the next
- 26:47Speaker 3: billion dollar unicorn because he already had the mindset, had
- 26:52Speaker 3: the work ethic, had the personality right. But it's like,
- 26:55Speaker 3: unfortunately a lot of times the circumstances that we come
- 26:59Speaker 3: up in that dictates our career path and dictates our life.
- 27:03Speaker 3: So it's just interesting, man. Yeah, man, it's very interesting.
- 27:09Speaker 5: You know.
- 27:09Speaker 1: We got a shout out to who's Davis intrograwing that
- 27:13Speaker 1: by somebody that is equally as intergra in that. And
- 27:15Speaker 1: I was the captain of when we got to do
- 27:17Speaker 1: the episode. Shout to Cobby Copy Supreme, Shout out the Bah,
- 27:20Speaker 1: Shout the pack, shout to j Stone. Just real solid dudes.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Every time we go out there, we make sure we
- 27:26Speaker 1: tap in with them. Just make sure that they're good
- 27:28Speaker 1: and we got it. Well, they'll probably be here.
- 27:31Speaker 5: We got j J.
- 27:33Speaker 2: We got to make sure that the whole team is there.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Man, long lived nipsey hustle.
- 27:37Speaker 2: That's a fact of the Marathoncontine.
- 27:39Speaker 4: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 27:42Speaker 4: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 27:46Speaker 4: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 27:51Speaker 4: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 27:55Speaker 4: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 27:58Speaker 4: Donald J.
- 27:59Speaker 8: Trump's leader.
- 28:00Speaker 4: I'm Christy Noman, the United States Secretary of Homeland Security
- 28:04Speaker 4: under President Trump, attempted illegal border crossings are at the
- 28:08Speaker 4: lowest levels ever recorded, and over one hundred thousand illegal
- 28:12Speaker 4: aliens have been arrested. If you are here illegally, your
- 28:16Speaker 4: next you will be fine nearly one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned,
- 28:20Speaker 4: and deported. You will never return. But if you register
- 28:24Speaker 4: using our CBP home app and leave now, you could
- 28:27Speaker 4: be allowed to return legally. Do what's right, leave now.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Under President Trump America's laws, border and families will be protected.
- 28:37Speaker 5: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security,
