- 0:01Dayna Roselli: This week on episode 182 of Vegas Revealed is Bruno Mars moving to Las Vegas?
- 0:07Dayna Roselli: We have new clues that could point to yes.
- 0:11Sean McAllister: Ground has broken on a new golf center, backed by Tiger Woods himself, where it's going to be built and what to expect from the complex that promises to be more than golf.
- 0:22Dayna Roselli: And where things stand following a frustrating ticket sale for Kylie Minogue's new residency.
- 0:27Sean McAllister: Plus a sandwich shop staple that had our followers buzzing on social media.
- 0:33Dayna Roselli: All that and more coming up on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:36Sean McAllister: Spin that wheel.
- 0:45Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to episode 182 of Vegas.
- 0:48Dayna Roselli: Revealed Dayna Roselli here, along with Sean McAllister.
- 0:52Dayna Roselli: We've got a lot to talk about.
- 0:53Dayna Roselli: I'm not gonna lie, sean, it's been quite a week, my brain is fried, and so I might have you do a lot of the talking today.
- 1:00Sean McAllister: Hey, no problem at all.
- 1:01Sean McAllister: We all have those weeks when we just need to like shut off for a minute but we have a podcast to do.
- 1:09Dayna Roselli: We do, and we're bracing for Hurricane Hillary.
- 1:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean this is crazy.
- 1:13Sean McAllister: So this is a category four storm in the Pacific.
- 1:16Sean McAllister: It's making its way up the Baja Peninsula on a direct course to Las Vegas.
- 1:22Sean McAllister: Southern California and parts of Arizona also gonna get hit, but it's unusual that we get remnants of a hurricane.
- 1:30Sean McAllister: We're recording now, on a Thursday by the weekend, when a lot of you are listening.
- 1:36Sean McAllister: That storm is gonna be right over top of us, so we'll let you know next week.
- 1:41Sean McAllister: Here on Vegas Revealed how we fare, but it seems like we are in for some tropical storm, force winds, a ton of rain.
- 1:52Sean McAllister: I just got an alert on my phone that for the next four days, clark County, which is the county where Las Vegas is, we're in for a flood watch for the next four days.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: I know, and it's interesting when you say a ton of rain, it's like, well, we never really get a ton of rain, but this looks like it's gonna be a lot.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: So I mean it's a big deal for us because we do not get rain a lot, we live in the desert.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: So all that, and then the temperature is coming down to high 70s.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: We've had like 105, 107 consistently all summer, so it's like what is going on.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: So it'll be interesting to see.
- 2:25Dayna Roselli: Hopefully everyone stays safe and obviously when we have flooding here it can get a little dangerous.
- 2:31Dayna Roselli: So we'll definitely keep our eyes out and keep you posted on social media with that.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: Also, our hearts go out to the folks in Maui.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: We haven't talked about the wildfire in Maui.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: We do have so many Hawaiians that live here in Las Vegas and visit us.
- 2:44Dayna Roselli: There are tons of fundraisers happening around town.
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: I know I think it was the Raiders that also kind of wrote a check and donated possibly some money.
- 2:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, during warmups in their next preseason game they'll be taking the field in special 9th Island t-shirts, just showing that the team not only is making financial donations to help out people there in Maui, but also in solidarity as well.
- 3:15Dayna Roselli: Maui is the only island I've actually visited in Hawaii and I've always thought about Hawaii, people like it would be so amazing to live there and I've always thought, I don't know, I would feel a little I don't know, trapped is the wrong word, but I'm more of a like to get places quick and all that, and I always thought I don't know if I could live there.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: But I love visiting there.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: But the people that live there, the Hawaiian culture, they've made their homes there and it's deep rooted and this has just been horrible for them.
- 3:41Dayna Roselli: So our hearts go out to them.
- 3:43Dayna Roselli: And then we obviously have so many, like I said, visitors and family members that live here in Las Vegas that are a part of our community and have made it wonderful.
- 3:50Sean McAllister: Yeah, so, and, like you said, there are a lot of fundraisers.
- 3:53Sean McAllister: Las Vegas's collective heart is going out to everyone there on Maui and everybody who's impacted.
- 4:00Sean McAllister: That is a terrible situation.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, All right, Want to thank a few of our sponsors.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: Vegas near me.
- 4:05Dayna Roselli: We always tell you about that.

- 4:22Sean McAllister: Also a big thank you to our HOTWORX, Infrared Fitness Studios.
- 4:27Sean McAllister: This is a special place.
- 4:28Sean McAllister: You're going to hear more about it coming up in just a little bit.
- 4:31Sean McAllister: Here on Vegas Revealed, there is a special that we do not want you to miss out on.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's happening in the month of August, Even though it's hot outside.
- 4:40Dayna Roselli: People always say to me well, you go to HOTWORX, I'm like you walk in, there's air conditioning.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: The infrared heat is a different kind of heat.
- 4:47Dayna Roselli: It doesn't bother me at all, Although I know kids are back in school, parents are getting more into a routine.
- 4:54Dayna Roselli: Now's the time to sign up and kind of get your fitness kicked up again.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: Take advantage of this HOTWORX special and listen more about it coming up in a little bit in the podcast.
- 5:04Sean McAllister: And I just want to throw an added bonus when you work out in those infrared saunas it kind of revs up your entire body and you keep burning calories and fat long after you leave your workout session.
- 5:16Sean McAllister: So that's always a good thing.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: It's true.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: It's true because I actually look at my Fitbit and it is still.
- 5:21Dayna Roselli: I actually don't turn off the because I'm like it's still burning, my heart rate still going.
- 5:26Sean McAllister: So it works.
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: You burn the calories even when you're sitting in your car and you drive home.
- 5:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, and also a big thank you to all of our subscribers who financially support Vegas Revealed.
- 5:36Sean McAllister: We have a link down in our show notes so you can become a subscriber as well, if you so choose, starting at just $3 a month, and it does make a big difference, even though it doesn't sound like a lot.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah, people always think podcasters are rolling in it.
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: Listen, we accepted an ad the other day on our Buzzsprout.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: I should bring up the screenshot.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: Hold on everyone.
- 5:57Dayna Roselli: It's right here.
- 5:58Dayna Roselli: We ran an ad and we made one cent.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: One cent.
- 6:05Dayna Roselli: It's not even cents.
- 6:07Sean McAllister: It's not plural, it's a singular penny.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: So we work it, man, and we put a lot of time into it.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: So we appreciate you, thank you so much, and hopefully, even with some of our sponsors, we can bring you specials as well.
- 6:20Dayna Roselli: That will benefit you for listening to us.
- 6:23Sean McAllister: All right, let's get into some meaty stuff here.
- 6:25Sean McAllister: There are some rumors flying around Las Vegas.
- 6:29Sean McAllister: These are unconfirmed rumors.
- 6:31Sean McAllister: However, we have been hearing them that Bruno Mars could be relocating and making Las Vegas his home.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you heard this and I was like wait, what I missed out.
- 6:41Dayna Roselli: So what, where did this come from?
- 6:42Dayna Roselli: And, like, what are the rumors and what are the tips?
- 6:45Sean McAllister: So I have friends who live in a really nice neighborhood and there are houses being built there, kind of up the mountain side, which is happening all over Las Vegas.
- 6:58Sean McAllister: We're sprawling out, so they're terracing off the mountain sides and building really nice houses because they have great views.
- 7:04Sean McAllister: Yes, and one of the houses being built right now is rumored to be for Bruno Mars.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: Okay, and that-.
- 7:13Sean McAllister: So leave the door open.
- 7:14Sean McAllister: Leave the door open, absolutely.
- 7:18Sean McAllister: Where are you going?
- 7:19Sean McAllister: But it makes a lot of sense that he would relocate here, not only because of you know all of the business interests he has outside of his music career, which, as part of the music career, he's a resident headliner over at Park MGM.
- 7:36Sean McAllister: He's always doing shows on New Year's Eve here.
- 7:40Sean McAllister: He has his rum company, which that's in a lot of bars up and down the Las Vegas Strip, plus he's also this is another rumor, I'll call it it's more confirmed, but not 100% that Bruno Mars is opening a bar and lounge inside Bellagio Makes sense okay Called.
- 8:05Sean McAllister: Pinky Ring by Bruno Mars.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: Oh, is that Is the Scuttlebutt?
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: Okay, is that gonna be, maybe where Lily?
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: Is that closed?
- 8:13Sean McAllister: Yes, so Lily closed in July, right, so a renovation is happening right now.
- 8:19Sean McAllister: Currently, there haven't been a lot of details that have come out about this rumor of Bruno Mars moving in and details of what the space might be.
- 8:28Sean McAllister: However, there are well-placed sources, according to a lot of reports, that say yes, it is happening, it is Bruno, he's bringing his spot so and the Pinky Ring is pulled from a line in 24-karat magic.
- 8:47Dayna Roselli: Okay, got it.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: But, the Bellagio needs something like that.
- 8:50Dayna Roselli: I like that idea.
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: You know the main fairs, super clubs, great.
- 8:53Sean McAllister: Well, I think it'll be like a late night kinda good spot.
- 8:55Sean McAllister: That's not necessarily like night club level.
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: Right, and I think that's what that's what I-.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: And I speak for the 40-somethings that's what we like.
- 9:04Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 9:05Dayna Roselli: And the 40-somethings are the ones that spend money.
- 9:08Sean McAllister: That is true.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: The 20-somethings find a way and they get VIP access and they have friends that they know and a lot of them they drink before they go out.
- 9:18Dayna Roselli: Let's put it that way.
- 9:19Dayna Roselli: They're not necessarily spending the money at the bar.
- 9:21Sean McAllister: Well, and let's face it, I need to go to a place that has a club vibe, but that isn't the club, because I can't keep up with those 20-somethings anymore.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: I know, I know, oh, my gosh, I like a good martini and blue cheese, olives, little salty.
- 9:38Dayna Roselli: Anyway, I think that's a great idea.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: So, bruno, if you're moving here, we welcome you to town and you're right, I think he's got a lot of things going on which it makes sense for him to have a home here, and a lot of times with these celebrities, it's where they're gonna spend most of their time, but then they have other places that they're constantly going and working, so it's kinda like home base.
- 9:56Sean McAllister: And, by the way, bruno, welcome to Las Vegas if you are indeed moving here and you have a standing invitation to come join us here on Vegas Revealed anytime you want.
- 10:06Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: That's right Cause I know he's listening.
- 10:09Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 10:10Sean McAllister: Why wouldn't he be?
- 10:11Dayna Roselli: We just got a little survey sent to us saying that we were number 13 in the top 70 podcast in Las Vegas.
- 10:19Sean McAllister: We did.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it kind of seems like a site that isn't completely legit.
- 10:24Dayna Roselli: But we appreciate the mention.
- 10:26Dayna Roselli: 13's my lucky number.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: It's my birthday.
- 10:29Sean McAllister: Oh, well, good.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: And so Friday the 13th has never, like you know, made me feel I'm always like it's a great day.
- 10:35Sean McAllister: No bad omens, no bad omens, only good luck.
- 10:37Sean McAllister: I like it.
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: Hey, well, let's stick with the rumor mail.
- 10:41Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 10:41Dayna Roselli: Rumor, but we never report just a week.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: We kind of have a lot of like we kind of know it's true, just know that.
- 10:49Dayna Roselli: But we call it a rumor because it's unconfirmed.
- 10:51Sean McAllister: Because it has not officially been announced.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: We're not spewing like gossip that we randomly heard in the line at JCPenney or anything like that.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: Okay, post Malone possibly performing New Year's Eve at the Fountain Blue.
- 11:06Dayna Roselli: The Fontainebleau is opening in December of 2023.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: It's on schedule and apparently Post Malone is gonna be performing there on New Year's Eve, so that's kind of going around.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: It's been reported in the paper.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: A lot of people online have been talking about it Not officially, officially confirmed.
- 11:21Sean McAllister: Although the Fountain Blue the newspaper did reach out to Fountain Blue for comment, they said that in the 70 year history of the Fontainebleau brand, they always have strong connections with celebrities and big time entertainers.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: So yes.
- 11:37Sean McAllister: They can confirm or deny.
- 11:38Sean McAllister: They just didn't really say anything about it.
- 11:40Sean McAllister: They say they have relationships.
- 11:42Dayna Roselli: Right, right, okay, so probably.
- 11:44Sean McAllister: But that would be good.
- 11:45Dayna Roselli: It would be.
- 11:45Dayna Roselli: I mean, that's interesting.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: Interesting first, I would say, first choice that we've heard of.
- 11:49Dayna Roselli: I don't know if someone might be performing at their opening of the hotel as well.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: But New Year's Eve for interesting, because you wonder, we don't know exactly what the Fountain Blue is all about.
- 12:00Dayna Roselli: We know what the one in Miami is like.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: We've seen renderings, but what kind of caliber of entertainment they are gonna bring into there and also what kind of things they are going to have inside.
- 12:09Dayna Roselli: We know we've seen a couple like swanky lounges and they do have a theater, so anyway, it'll be interesting to see.
- 12:15Sean McAllister: Yeah, and to find out what the vibe is going to be like on property there too.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: Right, okay, the other rumor that's probably not a rumor is the Eagles performing over at the Sphere Announces kind of the second big act coming in.
- 12:27Dayna Roselli: You two's doing a slew of shows.
- 12:29Dayna Roselli: A lot of them have sold out.
- 12:31Dayna Roselli: People are looking forward to that.
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: Now we're hearing the Eagles are coming and possibly performing Super Bowl Weekend, which is in February, here in Las Vegas.
- 12:39Sean McAllister: Yeah, so that would be good too.
- 12:40Sean McAllister: I think the Eagles are a good choice.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean they're going classic rock right.
- 12:45Sean McAllister: They are, and I mean, it seems like that, yeah.
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: So it'll be interesting to see after that what other kinds of.
- 12:51Dayna Roselli: We keep saying like who's gonna play the Sphere, you know, like who else?
- 12:55Dayna Roselli: And we have ideas.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: We talked about Harry Styles.
- 12:57Dayna Roselli: He would sell it out.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: You know, that could be kind of a pop, but I don't know what they're looking for.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: They might have a certain I don't know a certain genre they're going for.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: I'm not sure.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: But you two in the Eagles I don't want to say they're the same, but you know very iconic rock bands totally so interesting.
- 13:13Sean McAllister: I like the Eagles I had I played their CD quite a bit.
- 13:17Dayna Roselli: Did you?
- 13:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, growing up we always played Hotel California in the car with the wind, because I like feeling like the wind was blowing in my hair.
- 13:26Sean McAllister: Oh cool, something like that I'm trying to run through the lyrics in my head real quick, but I'm not there.
- 13:34Dayna Roselli: I should know I've been to my my friend Matt Goss is show a million times and he does a cover of that.
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: I must have heard it hundreds and hundreds.
- 13:41Dayna Roselli: You'd think I know the words by now.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: Usually I was liquored up a little.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: All right, you know who else is selling good and selling out.
- 13:49Dayna Roselli: Kylie Minogue another Blue of tickets went on sale because the fans were upset they couldn't get in.
- 13:55Dayna Roselli: She sold out in hours on the Voltaire website.
- 13:58Dayna Roselli: They announced more dates for her, some in 2023, a bunch in 2024.
- 14:03Dayna Roselli: Tickets went on sale this morning.
- 14:05Dayna Roselli: We're recording on a Thursday and I had someone write me and say it.
- 14:09Dayna Roselli: By 738 am they were on it.
- 14:11Dayna Roselli: 7, 7 am they went on sale.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: I was told it was sold out already.
- 14:15Sean McAllister: Yeah, a half hour.
- 14:17Sean McAllister: It sounds like Everything was sold out.
- 14:20Sean McAllister: However, I was scrolling through social media and looking for Some comments from Kylie fans to hear how the process went since last time.
- 14:32Sean McAllister: It would seem to be a little frustrating.
- 14:35Sean McAllister: Technical issues, all that.
- 14:37Sean McAllister: This time it didn't sound like there was any of that now.
- 14:41Sean McAllister: There were fans who were disappointed that that the show sold out so quickly, in a half hour, but the process did not seem to be.
- 14:49Sean McAllister: What was the frustrating part?
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: which is good.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it is really good.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: And we did see a lot of people on Twitter say I'm just gonna call it Twitter.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: I know it's X, now It'll always be Twitter to me.
- 14:58Dayna Roselli: People on Twitter were saying I Finally got my ticket.
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: There were a lot of happy people too on there.
- 15:05Sean McAllister: I could tell they were in they got.
- 15:07Dayna Roselli: You know, they went through ticket master, they got their ticket.
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: They were putting screenshots so Exciting.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: I'm excited that I hope this like just really is a confident booster for Kylie Minogue.
- 15:18Dayna Roselli: Not that she didn't have confidence or anything before, but I love that this is a real feel-good moment for her selling out like that.
- 15:24Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 15:25Sean McAllister: And this was 10 additional shows.
- 15:26Sean McAllister: Yeah that went on sale.
- 15:28Sean McAllister: So she's now opening on November 3rd over at Voltaire inside the Venetian, and then she has shows through May of 2024, off and on.
- 15:38Sean McAllister: So oh Great good for Kylie, hoping that there are even more shows added, because we know that there is demand.
- 15:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's for sure.
- 15:47Dayna Roselli: That's for sure.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: Tonight it's Thursday.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: I said we're recording.
- 15:50Dayna Roselli: I'm going to the Juliet cocktail room over at the Venetian, so check my social media to see what it looks like inside.
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: It looks like it's gorgeous.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: We'll talk about it next week, but I'm excited to go check it out.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: Big event mark wallberg is gonna be there as usual.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: Our new Celebrity resident you know pushing his tequila.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah so what is it?
- 16:09Dayna Roselli: Fletcher?
- 16:09Dayna Roselli: I think so much of it to kill, yeah, but he is always working that Instagram man.
- 16:13Dayna Roselli: He visits every grocery store, every liquor store, every bar and restaurant that serves that tequila.
- 16:20Dayna Roselli: He is a hustler, I must say and he brings people in.
- 16:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he sure does.
- 16:24Dayna Roselli: Hey, let's talk about the hard rock.
- 16:26Dayna Roselli: We want to give you an update on the big guitar that's gonna be built.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: We know it was controversial when we heard the Mirage volcano was gonna be torn down and the new guitar Tower was going to be built in front of the Mirage, which is owned by the hard rock.
- 16:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, so there was another step forward in the construction of this giant guitar shaped hotel tower.
- 16:52Sean McAllister: The Clark County Zoning Commission it was kind of a procedural thing they pass, you know, approve the plans for this Tower to be built.
- 17:02Sean McAllister: So that is another step forward for this tower, which is going to have 600 hotel rooms, a 48,000 square foot gaming area which will be, you know, just steps off of the Las Vegas Strip.
- 17:18Sean McAllister: There's also going to be 96,000 square feet of retail and a restaurant space in there as well.
- 17:25Sean McAllister: So and you know you have to imagine that it's going to have a connection to, you know, the existing Mirage property as well.
- 17:34Sean McAllister: So, so you'll have walking access directly from the strip into the guitar tower and then on into the Mirage.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I wonder, you know.
- 17:45Dayna Roselli: I was just sitting here thinking did we ever discuss or look into or have we heard, because I told you it's been a long week?
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: Is the Mirage eventually gonna change to the hard rock name?
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: Are they leaving at the Mirage forever?
- 17:56Sean McAllister: No forever.
- 17:56Sean McAllister: But eventually it will change to the hard rock casino.
- 18:01Dayna Roselli: Okay, got it, got it.
- 18:02Sean McAllister: But for the time being, it's leaving the Mirage.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: Yeah, right, yeah so iconic.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: you know, hey, speaking of iconic, we're a little bit iconic this year.
- 18:11Sean McAllister: Here's why.
- 18:13Dayna Roselli: We are getting inducted we found out into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
- 18:17Dayna Roselli: We are truly honored and excited about this.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: Sean, we finally meet the requirements and we were nominated and we were like, okay, are we gonna get in?
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: And we got it.
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: So we are being inducted in September.
- 18:31Dayna Roselli: We're truly excited.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: Our families are coming out to support us.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: They're gonna be at the dinner and you need to have 20 years of broadcasting Under your belt and also five of them have to be in Nevada to get inducted into the Hall of Fame.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: So we are honored and excited about this.
- 18:46Sean McAllister: We are.
- 18:47Sean McAllister: Can you believe that it's been 20 year?
- 18:50Dayna Roselli: broadcasting careers unbelievable when I was, because you just you don't even like add up the numbers until you have to.
- 18:56Sean McAllister: So that you're right counting.
- 18:57Dayna Roselli: You're like wait, have I been it?
- 18:59Dayna Roselli: And you're like, well, oh yeah, I've been in it.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: Oh yeah, I'm pretty old.
- 19:04Sean McAllister: You know what made me think of it?
- 19:05Sean McAllister: Just the other day it was the anniversary of.
- 19:08Sean McAllister: I don't know if a lot of people remember this, but Back on the East Coast there was this giant East Coast blackout right in 2003, and I was a young producer at the CBS station in Rochester, new York, and we had to run all of the newscasts.
- 19:26Sean McAllister: We're doing newscasts from the front lawn of the TV station and using all live trucks that were powered by generators to get signals out, and it was like Patch and stuff together to try and just get on the air.
- 19:40Sean McAllister: Of course there were a lot of people without power and so a lot of people weren't even able to watch.
- 19:46Sean McAllister: Yeah but it just made me think of that like man.
- 19:50Sean McAllister: It's been 20 years since that blackout.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: Isn't that crazy?
- 19:54Dayna Roselli: And another thing is is when you even said live truck like the good old live truck.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: Listen when we don't have any more.
- 20:01Dayna Roselli: Really we're gonna do it like when we were young.
- 20:02Dayna Roselli: But this is what we're talking live trucks.
- 20:04Dayna Roselli: They never failed, like now.
- 20:06Dayna Roselli: You know the reporters and say the kids go out with backpacks and they go live, and there's always like a signal issue and you dial up with your phone.
- 20:13Dayna Roselli: You know what.
- 20:14Dayna Roselli: Here's the deal, the live truck.
- 20:15Dayna Roselli: Okay, it was a hassle because you had to park, raise the mass, you had to have an engineer on site the photographer and all that, and you had to hit the beam, the tower, but it worked.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: It worked.
- 20:29Dayna Roselli: You went out with a live truck.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: There are times when I was working over at channel 13 where they were like, well, we can't get us, and we're like you know what?
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: We have a live, use the live truck, like what is wrong with the live truck?
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: Well then we got it, did it, and I'm like you know what it works.
- 20:44Sean McAllister: I mean, listen, and there were some tricky situations.
- 20:47Sean McAllister: I remember, especially when you were in like a downtown yeah, a downtown environment where there were buildings, you know, tall buildings around.
- 20:56Sean McAllister: We had some pretty clever engineers who they would be like, okay, bounce the microwave signal off the south side of that building and it'll go between the other two buildings and hit our Receiving tower.
- 21:10Sean McAllister: Yeah it's like man, these guys have it down.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: They do and they had so much pride in their work.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: Anyway, those are the good times.
- 21:18Dayna Roselli: Maybe we'll share more broadcasting career stories as we go on and on later, in September, and if you do want to hear more stories, throw us a note.
- 21:25Dayna Roselli: We like to know what you want to hear about.
- 21:26Dayna Roselli: We have a lot of stories through our career in New York, in Las Vegas, so anyway, we are honored.
- 21:32Dayna Roselli: The Nevada Broadcasters Association is a group that really supports Journalism and tries to keep journalism alive in Nevada and we support that.
- 21:41Dayna Roselli: You know, like I even say when we talk about rumor, it's hard for us to even talk about a rumor because we really like to get things confirmed.
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: But it's just part of our, it's always been in our blood.
- 21:52Dayna Roselli: So that that's how we are anyway, that's.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: September, the McAllister's and Roselli family are sitting at a table at the four seasons.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: This should be a hoop.
- 22:01Dayna Roselli: There's gonna be a bar and dinner and it's gonna be a hoot.
- 22:06Sean McAllister: I can't wait.
- 22:07Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be fun my 87 year old dad's coming, my mom's coming, my mom's, I think, 78 at this time.
- 22:14Dayna Roselli: They're nine years apart, but it's gonna be.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: I got my best friend Melissa's coming.
- 22:18Dayna Roselli: You've got your sister, your parents, your husband.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, already I feel a hangover coming on.
- 22:25Sean McAllister: Well, and we told them.
- 22:26Sean McAllister: We were like, listen, just be prepared, our table is going to be a party.
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: It is, and I don't mean that we're gonna keep it classy.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: We always do but.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: I just know that we're gonna have Fun time enjoying getting to know all the parents and putting them together and all that kind of thing.
- 22:41Sean McAllister: There will be stories.
- 22:42Sean McAllister: There will be stories, without a doubt.
- 22:43Sean McAllister: We need a podcast for that you know, dana, something that you've talked a lot about Recently and just in just our conversations that we have.
- 22:52Sean McAllister: You're like why is there not more Putt-putt and miniature golf here in Las Vegas?
- 22:57Sean McAllister: And, as if the universe was answering your call, ground has broken on an upscale miniature golf complex.
- 23:07Dayna Roselli: I mean it's about time I've said that since I literally moved here.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: I don't get it.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: When I grew up, we hung out at putt-putt and rinky-dink in the summer.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: It was like where we went.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: We hung out with our friends.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: It was a good time.
- 23:18Dayna Roselli: We played in groups.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: I went on dates and it was a great Conversation starter.
- 23:22Dayna Roselli: You could do a you know around yeah putt-putt, golf, get to know each other.
- 23:26Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, finally we are getting one, and I'm so excited, and Tiger Woods is behind this, and it's gonna be over at Town Square, which is the south end of the strip.
- 23:36Dayna Roselli: So it's south of Mandalay Bay and just south of the Las Vegas sign, right or north south so south of Las Vegas sign.
- 23:42Dayna Roselli: So right there it's a shopping center restaurants, a lot of things there movie theaters, coffee shops, and now they are getting something called pop stroke and it is a Golf experience and again it's backed by Tiger Woods.
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: Apparently there are other ones around the country.
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: We just recently had a groundbreaking and it's an elevated mini golf and entertainment venue.
- 24:03Dayna Roselli: So there's gonna be bars and restaurants and that kind of thing too.
- 24:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, and there's gonna be Cornhole and foosball, like, in addition to two 18 hole miniature golf courses.
- 24:14Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 24:16Dayna Roselli: I drove by there the other day and I went what is coming here and I saw the the sign up and I see exactly where it's gonna go.
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: It's really gonna fill in a space there at Town Square.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: As soon as you kind of enter in on one of the roads there's just like couple entrances but one of the main entrances.
- 24:30Sean McAllister: Yes, so I think this is gonna be really fun.
- 24:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it is gonna be fun and I think it's something different and it's active.
- 24:35Dayna Roselli: I did see some people comment under a social media post saying, oh, we have one in our city and there are a lot of Teenagers that hang out there and go there.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: But you know what I know this is gonna be.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: You know, have bars and stuff a little bit more adult, but, but it is something for you know, a younger generation, to do as well stay off their phones, communicate, play some golf, and I think I'm all for it.
- 24:59Sean McAllister: Well, as we mentioned a couple of weeks ago, there's also an indoor miniature golf complex going in over at Mandalay Bay and that is going to be adults only.
- 25:10Dayna Roselli: So you will have options if you don't wanna be around teens, yeah, but you know a town square is a popular place for families, teens, all that thing.
- 25:20Dayna Roselli: So I think it'll be a good fit.
- 25:21Dayna Roselli: But I love that two 18-hole putting greens.
- 25:25Dayna Roselli: That's gonna be a big deal.
- 25:27Sean McAllister: It is, it's gonna be fun.
- 25:28Dayna Roselli: Hey, coming up on August 26th we wanted to mention this a big event's coming up.
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: It's a big celebrity poker tournament.
- 25:34Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be streamed live on Poker Go.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: They're shooting it in the Poker Go studio over at Aria and it is gosh.
- 25:43Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be an event, a big networking event.
- 25:46Dayna Roselli: There are celebrities, athletes, social media stars all taking part in this huge tournament.
- 25:53Sean McAllister: And this is kind of bringing the classic game of poker to a new generation of players who enjoy playing the game but who are also using poker as a means to network with other athletes, influencers, business people while they're there, and also connecting with their audiences on social media.
- 26:17Dayna Roselli: Exactly, and they're saying it might be the largest streamed poker event ever.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: So the social media stars that are going to be there and I call them that, you know, and obviously, like we're getting older and there's a whole new generation of people who social media is, like they are a star and it's legit, like it's a form of being a celebrity.
- 26:38Dayna Roselli: People know you, people follow you, people check in on what you do daily and I did see, like some of the people that are going, like the amount of followers they have.
- 26:47Dayna Roselli: Like Bryce Hall is 35 million followers across all his social media platforms and Nick Austin is going to be there with he's got like 13 million followers A lot of people coming to this event.
- 27:00Dayna Roselli: So if that's something that you're interested in, also wanted to mention you, there's going to be NBA players there, former Golden Knights, derek England is playing.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: The list goes on and on.
- 27:09Dayna Roselli: One of the Grunkowskies is going to be there, one of the brothers A whole list of big people.
- 27:14Dayna Roselli: They're also going to be making an appearance over at Culture Kings.
- 27:18Dayna Roselli: There's an event there and that's a clothing shop, a big clothing shop at the forum shops, and that's Friday night, the 25th, at 6 pm.
- 27:26Dayna Roselli: All the people taking part in this tournament are going to be there for that event.
- 27:29Dayna Roselli: So you can feel free to stop by and say hello if you're looking for someone.
- 27:33Dayna Roselli: And it's put on by Enclave and Key.
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: And I had a quick lunch with Blake Wynn, who was born and raised here in Las Vegas.
- 27:43Dayna Roselli: This is part of his business, part of his idea.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: He's got a business partner, hayes Pullard, who is a former NFL player and sideline coach, and Blake does a lot of things with athletes and partnerships and marketing and influencing and all that kind of thing.
- 27:57Dayna Roselli: So anyway, I'm interested to learn more about it and I think it'll be a fun event.
- 28:01Sean McAllister: Yeah, it sounds like it's going to be really cool and we'll let you know how it goes after it happens on August 26th over at ARIA.
- 28:09Sean McAllister: Let's do some tips, daina.
- 28:15Sean McAllister: We were on our way back from a work event the other day.
- 28:19Sean McAllister: It was in the afternoon and I was driving down a road that I don't normally drive down and I saw this little sandwich shop over on the side of the road, so I took a little video as I was stopped at the stop light and I put it up on Twitter X.
- 28:39Sean McAllister: Now, like Daina said, we're just gonna keep calling it Twitter.
- 28:43Sean McAllister: It's called Pops Philly Steaks and I put the video up and I said hey, has anybody ever eaten here?
- 28:50Sean McAllister: This looks like it's a really legit place, and I was blown away by the amount of response that came in from this video.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: Oh my God, it is still going.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: It is To the point where I'm like all right, enough of Pops because you tagged me in the post.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: But listen, here's the deal.
- 29:08Dayna Roselli: I don't even think we need to talk about it that much.
- 29:10Dayna Roselli: Go to Sean's Twitter.
- 29:12Dayna Roselli: Look for this post.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: It's about five down.
- 29:14Dayna Roselli: You will see the response.
- 29:15Dayna Roselli: But I love that the opinions were detailed.
- 29:21Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 29:22Dayna Roselli: Experiential how Pops played a part in people's personal lives.
- 29:26Dayna Roselli: Some people love it.
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: Some people say you can get a better cheesesteak somewhere else.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: Others say nothing compares, it's totally East Coast, and so we have to get over there and try one on a non-diet day.
- 29:39Sean McAllister: A non-diet day absolutely.
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: Pops Philly cheesesteak right.
- 29:43Sean McAllister: Pops yes.
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: So okay, and I say try one, because here's the deal.
- 29:46Dayna Roselli: I have had one.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: But it was literally the first week I moved to Las Vegas, because my first apartment was on Decatur in Flamingo when I moved here.
- 29:56Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 29:57Dayna Roselli: And when we were driving by up and down the road to see what was around us, we passed Pops and I was like I've gotta try this and I remember it being good, but obviously I don't like to eat like that all the time, so it's not something I return to all the time, but I need to revisit because it's been well almost 20 years.
- 30:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, and so Pops is roughly at Decatur in Sahara, so it's to the west of the Las Vegas strip.
- 30:23Sean McAllister: So I know we're gonna need to go over there and check it out, because now I am more intrigued than ever after all the response that we received.
- 30:33Sean McAllister: So Pops, Philly steaks.
- 30:34Dayna Roselli: I think we got another one today.
- 30:36Sean McAllister: Is our tip for you.
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: I'm like oh, someone's writing about our podcast.
- 30:38Sean McAllister: Or in there like no Pops.
- 30:40Dayna Roselli: I'm like, all right, my tip is gonna try, I'm gonna try and be quick with this too.
- 30:48Dayna Roselli: I went to the Raiders preseason game at Allegiant Stadium, had a blast.
- 30:51Dayna Roselli: I've been to the Pro Bowl, I've toured the stadium, we've worked with the Raiders, I've sat with the Raiders and the Raiderettes in their locker room, but I've never officially gone to a Raiders game, believe it or not.
- 31:05Sean McAllister: Until now.
- 31:05Dayna Roselli: Until now, went to the preseason game.
- 31:07Dayna Roselli: We killed the 49ers, by the way, but I had a blast.
- 31:12Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 31:12Dayna Roselli: It was interesting watching the game in an indoor facility because I've only been to football games professional football games in outdoor stadiums Cleveland, buffalo because I'm from the East Coast.
- 31:24Dayna Roselli: We would bundle up the elements and I know that's kind of part of the fifth football thing.
- 31:29Dayna Roselli: But listen, sitting here at 47, I really enjoyed the indoor stadium experience.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: I had jeans on a sleeveless top, my sneaks, I got my popcorn and my soda.
- 31:43Dayna Roselli: There wasn't wind blowing in my face, I wasn't hot.
- 31:47Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 31:48Dayna Roselli: So I had a blast, met some great people that were sitting around us.
- 31:51Dayna Roselli: A lot of 49er fans were there.
- 31:53Dayna Roselli: Let me tell ya.
- 31:54Dayna Roselli: Somebody wrote me on Twitter and said what's the deal with all the red?
- 31:57Dayna Roselli: And you know like why am I seeing so many 49er fans?
- 32:00Dayna Roselli: I'm like well, california's close People love to have an excuse to come to Las Vegas.
- 32:05Dayna Roselli: Jimmy G, our new quarterback, didn't play but was on the sidelines.
- 32:08Dayna Roselli: He used to be the 49er quarterback.
- 32:10Dayna Roselli: I feel like it was just.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: It was a big game to kick off the season.
- 32:14Sean McAllister: I know a lot of 49ers fans who actually live here in Las Vegas too, so there's that Right.
- 32:19Sean McAllister: So it could be that.
- 32:20Dayna Roselli: So let's get to my tip.
- 32:21Dayna Roselli: Yes, because we all like to know if you go to a Legion Stadium, what's a tip, right?
- 32:25Dayna Roselli: What are some of the tips?
- 32:26Dayna Roselli: Here's my soda tip, if you love good Coke or Diet Coke or root beer, like I do Like a good fountain drink, a good fountain drink because I do not like Diet Coke in the bottle.
- 32:37Dayna Roselli: It just doesn't hit the right way.
- 32:39Dayna Roselli: I love a good fountain drink, so I went and bought my fountain drink.
- 32:42Dayna Roselli: I think it was $9.
- 32:44Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 32:45Dayna Roselli: And you get a souvenir cup.
- 32:46Dayna Roselli: It came in the Raiders cup and she filled it up and I said, okay, this is at the beginning of the game.
- 32:51Dayna Roselli: The game's long Like can I get free refills?
- 32:53Dayna Roselli: And she was, like you can?
- 32:56Dayna Roselli: On the third floor.
- 32:58Sean McAllister: And I was like what?
- 33:00Dayna Roselli: So my poor friend Robin that was with me and bought the tickets, I said listen, I need a refill.
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: We're going up to the third floor.
- 33:08Dayna Roselli: She doesn't like elevators, so we had to take the stairs and the floors are not three floors, they go by the half.
- 33:16Sean McAllister: Right.
- 33:16Dayna Roselli: So it was like 150, 200, 250.
- 33:20Dayna Roselli: But anyway, we were laughing, it was hilarious.
- 33:22Dayna Roselli: It's on my social media, on Instagram, if you want to check out the video.
- 33:26Dayna Roselli: But listen, you go to the top and they have the fountain soda machines.
- 33:31Dayna Roselli: You take your cup, you fill your drink, you're all good to go, but you got to go to the third floor.
- 33:37Sean McAllister: Listen.
- 33:37Sean McAllister: I think that is a great tip because, especially if people are going to games with families, something like that, it can get pricey to buy the concessions at an arena.
- 33:49Sean McAllister: A stadium and having refills like that is a brilliant idea, but you have to know where to go, and now you know because of Roselle.
- 33:58Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 33:59Dayna Roselli: So get that free refill.
- 34:00Dayna Roselli: I like a good free refill.
- 34:03Sean McAllister: I gotta tell you.
- 34:04Dayna Roselli: And the prices for things.
- 34:05Dayna Roselli: I was looking right before I went on.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: I was like, how much did I spend?
- 34:07Dayna Roselli: So I got a big popcorn.
- 34:09Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 34:10Dayna Roselli: And two drinks, because I bought Robin's drink and it came to $29, but I know I tipped.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: I think I tipped about three or four bucks, so not terrible.
- 34:20Dayna Roselli: 26 bucks for a big popcorn, two drinks with free refills on the third floor Perfect Okay, so not terrible you know, not terrible at all I didn't feel really gouged.
- 34:30Dayna Roselli: I felt like it was a fair price.
- 34:32Sean McAllister: That's very fair, very fair.
- 34:35Dayna Roselli: All right, listen.
- 34:35Dayna Roselli: That's a podcast.
- 34:36Dayna Roselli: We've been going on and on a little longer than our previous podcast we've had over the last couple of weeks, so we had a lot to talk about.
- 34:42Dayna Roselli: I love that you carried it.
- 34:44Dayna Roselli: You were spewing off the facts, you.
- 34:46Dayna Roselli: Let me sit back and relax.
- 34:49Sean McAllister: Now it's time for the brain to shut off until episode 183, when Dana is actually taking part in her first fantasy football draft.
- 34:59Dayna Roselli: I need to wrap my head around that for next week.
- 35:01Sean McAllister: I know.
- 35:01Dayna Roselli: I'm going to Circa, I'm in the women's fantasy football draft, we've got a whole thing, we've got papers out and we're planning my team now.
- 35:09Dayna Roselli: I'm a little nervous about it.
- 35:11Dayna Roselli: I've never done this before, so go, dana, and we'll talk about it next week.
- 35:15Sean McAllister: And sticking with the football theme, we are expecting to get a few more new details surrounding the Super Bowl here in Las Vegas and what we can expect from events surrounding that.
- 35:29Sean McAllister: Also, the Elvis Suite over at the West Gate has undergone a massive transformation.
- 35:38Sean McAllister: We'll fill you in on that.
- 35:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we look forward to all that.
- 35:41Dayna Roselli: We were going to damble in it this week and we're like you know what?
- 35:43Dayna Roselli: We'll save it for next week.
- 35:44Dayna Roselli: So make sure you read our show notes.
- 35:47Dayna Roselli: We got lots of deals in there for you and we also have links to a lot of the things that we talk about.
- 35:51Dayna Roselli: Thank you, guys, and we'll see you next week.
- 35:54Sean McAllister: Hey, it's raining in the city.
- 35:56Sean McAllister: We got bills to pay Packing up a suitcase.
- 36:00Sean McAllister: Let's take a holiday.
