- 0:00Chapter 12 from the book of Zechariah.
- 0:02First, let's pray. Dear Lord, please be with us as
- 0:05we go through this. Chapter 12.
- 0:08Open our minds and our hearts to what you have to say.
- 0:12We ask this in Jesus name, Amen. A prophecy, the word of the Lord
- 0:18concerning Israel. The Lord, who stretches out the
- 0:21heavens, who lays the foundations of the earth, and
- 0:23who forms the human spirit within a person, declares I am
- 0:29going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding
- 0:34peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well
- 0:40as Jerusalem on that day when all the nations of the earth are
- 0:45gathered against her. I will make Jerusalem an
- 0:49immovable rock for all the nations.
- 0:53All who try to move it will injure themselves.
- 0:57On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider
- 1:02with madness, declares the Lord. I will keep a watchful eye over
- 1:07Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations.
- 1:12Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, The people of
- 1:16Jerusalem are strong because the Lord Almighty is their God.
- 1:23On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot in
- 1:28a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves.
- 1:33They will consume, they will consume all the surrounding
- 1:37peoples, right and left, but Jerusalem will remain intact in
- 1:42her place. The Lord will save the dwellings
- 1:46of Judah first, so that the honor of the House of David and
- 1:52of Jerusalem's inhabitants may not be greater than that of
- 1:57Judah on that day. The Lord will shield those who
- 2:02live in Jerusalem so that the feeblest among them will be like
- 2:06David and the House of David will be like God, like the Angel
- 2:12of the Lord going before them on that day.
- 2:16I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack
- 2:21Jerusalem. I think chapter 12, verse 9 of
- 2:26Zechariah needs to be spoken to all the nations today and all
- 2:32the people who are having a an issue with Israel today.
- 2:38Remember this verse, Zechariah chapter 12, verse 9.
- 2:42On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that
- 2:47attack Jerusalem. Quite a bit of a word of warning
- 2:52here for for all the nations of the world actually, verse 10.
- 2:57And I will pour out on the House of David and the inhabitants of
- 3:01Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication.
- 3:06They will look on me the one they have pierced.
- 3:10And they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child,
- 3:16and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a first born son
- 3:23on that. And I'm just, I guess I'm going
- 3:25to pause right here because that's, that's Jesus right
- 3:27there. They will look on me the one
- 3:30they, they have pierced. Jesus's side was pierced while
- 3:34he was on the cross. Also his wrist and his feet were
- 3:37pierced by the stakes that held him to the cross.
- 3:41And they, the people of Jerusalem, will mourn for him.
- 3:44As one mourns for an only child, so Jesus is the Son of God, the
- 3:50only child. Jesus is the Son of God and
- 3:54grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a first born son.
- 3:59Jesus is considered the first fruits.
- 4:01When he resurrected and resurrected and returned to the
- 4:05Father, he was considered one of the first fruits.
- 4:08Paul talks about that. I think it's in Thessalonians.
- 4:12On that day, the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as
- 4:16the weeping of Haddad Rimman in the plain of Megiddo.
- 4:21The land will mourn each clan by itself, with their wives by
- 4:26themselves, The clan of the House of David and their wives,
- 4:29the clan of the House of Nathan and their wives, the clan of the
- 4:33House of Levi and their wives, the clan of Shimei and their
- 4:38wives, and all the rest of the clans and their wives.
- 4:42That's the end of chapter 12. I will read the the study
- 4:48Bibles, questions and answers for chapter 12.
- 4:51Now how would Jerusalem be like a cup that sends others reeling?
- 4:57This metaphor is similar to our expression of take your
- 5:01medicine, also found, I guess in Isaiah 5117.
- 5:07In this case, the nations opposed to Jerusalem will be
- 5:11sent reeling when they drank God's judgments.
- 5:16This this cup was, if you look throughout the prophecies that
- 5:23Zechariah has, when you search for the cup, there's quite a bit
- 5:29about the cup. Just like Jesus drank the cup of
- 5:33wine at the Passover and said this was the blood of the new
- 5:38covenant, it's also the wrath that came upon Jesus, the blood
- 5:44that came upon Jesus when he died on the cross and in And
- 5:49then God sends the cup of wrath against many in the Book of
- 5:55Revelation. So there's a lot about drinking
- 5:58this cup and the. The drinking of a cup of wine
- 6:02was also symbolic of a covenant relationship as well, like the
- 6:07in a marriage where the, the man would offer the woman a, a cup
- 6:13to drink and if she would drink from it, that means she would
- 6:16essentially accept, accept his proposal.
- 6:19And Jesus did this with all of his disciples at Passover that
- 6:24they all drank from the cup and they were all like in agreement,
- 6:28I guess in the covenant with Jesus.
- 6:30So there's there's a lot to the cup and the cup of wrath is
- 6:35talked about quite a bit in the Book of Revelation.
- 6:39OK, so why would all the nations of the world attack Jerusalem?
- 6:42I mean, maybe when this book was written, there's a question
- 6:45about that. But today, in 2026, I don't
- 6:48think we'd have to say like, why would all the nations in the
- 6:51world attack Jerusalem? The only one who seems to be
- 6:54standing by Jerusalem at this time is the United States.
- 6:59I maybe I'm overstating that, but for the most part, there's
- 7:03not a lot of countries that support Jerusalem.
- 7:06Actually, there might be a little bit now because Iran has
- 7:10been targeting their Muslim brothers with missiles and
- 7:15they're starting to get upset about that.
- 7:17So that could be changing the alliances that that were almost
- 7:22natural because of their relations.
- 7:25But anyway, this is the study Bible says some think this
- 7:30refers to Armageddon, the last major battle predicted in
- 7:34Revelation. Others see this figuratively as
- 7:39referring to the church, which is constantly besieged by
- 7:43enemies but never overthrown. Yeah, it's this is.
- 7:50I mean, that doesn't seem to be an accurate response to this
- 7:55because it says in the very beginning, it says this is a
- 7:58prophecy about Israel. So it seems like Israel is the
- 8:04is the focus here. What kind of battle is this
- 8:07describing? Since calvaries no longer play a
- 8:09major role in war today, the horses here must either refer to
- 8:13an event in the past or in a symbolic way to some future
- 8:17event, perhaps Armageddon. Well, horses, I mean, that's
- 8:21maybe the way the Lord communicated to the people.
- 8:25Horses also were spiritual. We've covered that in other
- 8:29Bible studies where the like the horses of in the Book of
- 8:33Revelation, the horses in the the book of Zechariah, the first
- 8:37chapter, it talks about them being the spirits that roam
- 8:42throughout the earth. So they are symbolic and they
- 8:49maybe this is the way God gave Zechariah the prophecy or the
- 8:54word by talking about horses, something Zechariah was familiar
- 8:58with. I don't know.
- 9:00So why prioritize who would be saved?
- 9:02The phrase dwellings of Judah probably refers to the
- 9:06undefended areas of the land as opposed to the fortress city of
- 9:10of David, Jerusalem. The point?
- 9:12The Lord will not allow those living in the city to think they
- 9:15are safer than those living outside the city.
- 9:19Who was the one they have pierced?
- 9:21This is a prophecy of the Messiah, this time shown as the
- 9:25one who suffers undeservedly. This predicts the anguish of
- 9:29those in Jerusalem who saw Jesus nailed to the cross.
- 9:34How did had Haddad Rimmon weep? This may refer to the time when
- 9:39the people mourned for King Josiah found in Second
- 9:42Chronicles chapter 35 verses 22 through 27.
- 9:46It may also have been a comparison to weeping performed
- 9:50in worship to a false God. And that's referencing Ezekiel
- 9:55chapter 8 verse 14. So that concludes all of what
- 9:59the study Bible has to say. So the a few things that I paid
- 10:05attention to and here was verse 3 it says on that day and then
- 10:10verse 6 it says on that day and verse 8 it says on that day and
- 10:16verse 9 it says on that day and verse 11 says on that day.
- 10:22I mean getting the point here that on that day.
- 10:25So what day is this being talked about?
- 10:29And if you search for on that day or if you search for the day
- 10:34of the Lord, that's what's typically called in the
- 10:38prophetic books and using the NIV translation, there are 19
- 10:43exact phrases. So in Isaiah chapter 13, verse
- 10:47six, he says wail for the day of the Lord is near.
- 10:51It will come like destruction from the Almighty.
- 10:57Isaiah 39 says, see the day of the Lord is coming, a cruel day
- 11:02with wrath and fierce anger to make the land desolate and
- 11:08destroy the sinners within it. We should probably pay attention
- 11:13to that. These are unrepentant people
- 11:16doesn't mean every single person.
- 11:18It means those people who are unrepentant, who have not turned
- 11:22to the Lord, who have not kind of gotten out of slavery, of
- 11:26sin, those that are rejecting sin of and have turned to God
- 11:32will not be the ones that are destroyed here.
- 11:34This is talking about those who are rejecting God.
- 11:38Ezekiel 13 five, you have not gone up, gone up to the breaches
- 11:43in the wall to repair it for the people of Israel so that it will
- 11:47stand firm in the battle on the day of the Lord.
- 11:50That's an Ezekiel. Now that was that kind of almost
- 11:54a double fulfilled prophecy because there it had an
- 11:58immediate, I mean, it was an immediate warning, but also a
- 12:03future warning to the people of Israel is that they have like
- 12:09these breeches in their their faith and their protection.
- 12:12They have the breeches they are they are turned against the
- 12:14Lord. They haven't repented to him and
- 12:17they need to repair that so that they can stand firm in the
- 12:23battle on the day of the Lord. Ezekiel 30, verse 3 for the day
- 12:27of the Lord is near. The day of the Lord is near, for
- 12:31the day is near. The day of the Lord is near, a
- 12:34day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.
- 12:40Joel chapter one verse 15 says, Alas for that day, for the day
- 12:46of the Lord is near. It will come like destruction
- 12:49from the Almighty. So that is a it's almost exactly
- 12:55like what Isaiah said in in chapter 13 verse 6.
- 12:58It said Isaiah said, well, for the day of the Lord is near.
- 13:02It will come like destruction from the Almighty.
- 13:04I mean that second part of it is the same.
- 13:07So these are both hearing from God.
- 13:09These are prophets that are saying this to the people of
- 13:14Jerusalem and warning them over and over again.
- 13:17This is where Jesus talks about, you know, the prophets.
- 13:20He came to fulfill what the prophets had said.
- 13:22The prophets are talking about something that still is yet to
- 13:26come. The day of the Lord has not come
- 13:28yet, but this is the day that Jesus returns, the second
- 13:32coming, and it's the wrath of God.
- 13:36So all this time, these thousands of years, people,
- 13:40mankind has had the opportunity to get right with God, to
- 13:44reconcile with God, and those who choose not to will undergo
- 13:50the wrath of God. So Joel 2 verse one, blow the
- 13:55trumpet in Zion, sound the alarm on my holy hill.
- 13:58Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord
- 14:02is coming. It is close in hand at hand.
- 14:06Joel 211. The Lord thunders at the head of
- 14:09His army. His forces are beyond number,
- 14:12and mighty is the army that obeys His command.
- 14:16The day of the Lord is great, it is dreadful.
- 14:20Who can endure it? Joel 3, verse 14 Multitudes,
- 14:25multitudes in the valley of decision.
- 14:29For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
- 14:35I think there's a little bit to this that you know, the the
- 14:39decision is today. What is your decision?
- 14:44There's and and at this time, you know, there's multitudes in
- 14:48the valley of decision people aren't you know, what are they
- 14:50going to decide? Are they going to be with God or
- 14:52against God? The day of the Lord is near and
- 14:57and then the other part is like if we die unexpectedly, if we
- 15:04were not anticipating going sooner than we thought, what
- 15:07decision have we made? Are we ready to come face to
- 15:11face with God? Have we reconciled with him?
- 15:15Amos chapter 5 verse 18 says woe to you who long for the day of
- 15:20the Lord. Why do you long for the day of
- 15:22the Lord? That day will be darkness, not
- 15:25light. So there is, you know, Jesus
- 15:30came like the silent lamb the first time because he had a
- 15:35purpose. He had a purpose to die on that
- 15:37cross so that all of us could enter, could have the
- 15:41opportunity to enter into the Kingdom of God.
- 15:45But when he turns again, it actually it'll be a 2 fold good
- 15:51and bad day. It'll be good for those who have
- 15:54reconciled with God because it says in Scripture that Jesus
- 15:59will send out his angels with the sound of a trumpet who will
- 16:03gather his elect has chosen the ones who have prepared
- 16:06themselves and gather them to him in the sky.
- 16:10So that's, that's one aspect. But right after that, and those
- 16:15are the people who have prepared themselves.
- 16:17And it says that those who have prepared are not subject to the
- 16:20wrath of God. They will go through
- 16:22tribulation, but they're not subject to the wrath of God.
- 16:26So that's the wrath of God comes at the 6th seal when everybody
- 16:32says fall on us and try and cover that.
- 16:34You know, I guess it's all these people going into their bunkers
- 16:37that they think are going to save them, but they don't know
- 16:39who they're dealing with. They're they're they are trying
- 16:44to hide from the creator of the universe.
- 16:46It's not going to go well. I mean, think about like
- 16:48military and advanced military and how with all of our
- 16:55technology today, how people can be found and that's something
- 17:00that was made by humans. What about the creator?
- 17:04You think you can really hide from the creator?
- 17:06The creator who knows every single hair on your head, who
- 17:09knows everything, every single thought in your mind.
- 17:13There's no hiding from him. I mean, they, I think David said
- 17:18that many times. I could go here, I could go
- 17:20there, but there's no getting away from you.
- 17:21You know everything. And this is who we are going to
- 17:25come face to face with someday, either when we die or when Jesus
- 17:30returns, whichever comes first. And are you prepared for that?
- 17:35Are you ready? Amos 520?
- 17:38Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, not light, pitch dark
- 17:42without a ray of brightness? When I read this, this is really
- 17:46interesting because when I came was on my faith journey.
- 17:51That's the only way I can think of to call it because things
- 17:54started changing in my life. And at the point where I, this
- 18:02is where everything changed for me is when I decided to get
- 18:05baptized, full immersion baptism.
- 18:07I was baptized as an infant, but as an adult, I decided that I
- 18:12would do this. I wasn't sure if I needed to or
- 18:14not, but to me it was a sign to God that OK, I'm, I don't want
- 18:20to be a hypocrite. I don't want to be calling
- 18:22myself a Christian, but not living like you want, like you
- 18:26show Christians to live like that's, you know, not
- 18:30continuing. There's a there's a changed
- 18:32life. Like I really truly wanted my
- 18:34life to change. And I wanted to be obedient to
- 18:36God. And that baptism was symbolic of
- 18:40that. And interestingly, that very
- 18:45night I started having dreams, I think, right?
- 18:48And that was in 2021 that this happened.
- 18:50And I've and they were dreams about Jesus, power in the name
- 18:54of Jesus. They were things about, they
- 18:57were encouraging things, they were warnings, they were things
- 18:59about other people. I've had 103 dreams to date
- 19:05since then and they are biblically related and I never
- 19:09had dreams like this before. They started on that very night
- 19:13and I don't ever know when they're coming, but all of a
- 19:15sudden they come and, and then there's things that are in those
- 19:19dreams that then happen in real life.
- 19:24For example, recently in 2023, I had a dream.
- 19:29I just, I mean like a, a word that came to me was Maven.
- 19:33I didn't even know what it was. I never heard that word before
- 19:36and just recently I was looking and this is like, I guess Plant
- 19:40Air is has this project maven and this maven is actually being
- 19:45used in this Israel, US, Iran war right now.
- 19:51It's like AI warfare. I didn't even know what that
- 19:55was. But these are the things that
- 19:57have happened in my dreams where I'll dream about something and
- 19:59then all of a sudden it shows up in my dream and not shows up in
- 20:03my dream, shows up in real life. And the connection is made into
- 20:08the dream. There's been words of God that
- 20:11anyway, not about that, but anyway, here's what I wanted to
- 20:14say. What triggered it?
- 20:15Amos 520 says Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, not
- 20:19light, pitch dark without a ray of brightness.
- 20:23My 7th dream that I had was about the rapture and I was, I
- 20:28didn't come from a religious background that ever even heard
- 20:32of the rapture. Like I didn't hear about it
- 20:35until I started studying the Bible and then started here.
- 20:39I heard it from other people and I didn't even know what this
- 20:41rapture was. I didn't even know Jesus was
- 20:43coming again to be honest. And and so anyway, I set my 7th
- 20:49dream was a rapture dream. Now this was not something that
- 20:53I like super focused on because it was just something brand new
- 20:58to me. And I had this dream and then I
- 21:03had, I've had three dreams. And that's interesting too
- 21:07because I know in scripture that God emphasizes 3 things three
- 21:11times. And I had I think the second
- 21:14rapture dream was like a week later.
- 21:16And then the third rapture dream was almost like nine months
- 21:19later or something like that. So I had these multiple dreams
- 21:24and they were slightly different from one another, but there was
- 21:271 consistent thing that happened.
- 21:30Everything went black before the light came, and that's when the
- 21:39rapture occurred. And, and so when I had those
- 21:44dreams and I noticed like the first one that I had, it scared
- 21:49me because everything went black and I didn't know what was
- 21:51happening. And then all of a sudden I in
- 21:52the dream there was something symbolic that showed me it was
- 21:55the rapture. My second dream that I had was
- 21:59the same thing happened. It was a different scene, but
- 22:02the everything went black and I was with some other people and I
- 22:07said don't worry, I've already seen this.
- 22:09Like I was recalling my prior dream within my dream and I
- 22:13said, don't worry about it. The rapture's coming next.
- 22:15You don't have anything to fear. So I was like warning other
- 22:17people, it's OK. And then my third dream was, was
- 22:22interesting, especially with the timing.
- 22:24And I think this dream was in 2023.
- 22:27And my dream actually involved a like a storm siren that went
- 22:35off. And and so it was like a one of
- 22:40those public address sirens that give you a warning about a storm
- 22:45coming up. And I remembered that it was it
- 22:47was light outside, but the storm siren went off and then
- 22:52everything went black. The electricity, everything went
- 22:56off. I could not see.
- 22:57So this was my third dream that had everything going black.
- 23:01And then also again, I started rising from the ground and I
- 23:05could at this time I could see myself and, and it was kind of
- 23:08different from the other two dreams because it was like, did
- 23:11I just witness my death? I don't know, you know, So but
- 23:15the consistent thing in all three dreams was everything went
- 23:19black. So then I started searching
- 23:21scripture, like what does it say?
- 23:23Does it say this in scripture? You know, what is this?
- 23:25I, I remembered this pitch black right before the rapture
- 23:31happened and, and I just, I wanted to see if that was in
- 23:34Scripture and it was, of course. So like when I'm reading Amos
- 23:38520 right now, will not the day of the Lord be darkness, not
- 23:42light, pitch dark without a ray of brightness.
- 23:47It just ties into scripture. I mean, these are different
- 23:52experiences. I never expected that to happen,
- 23:54but I, these dreams made me really believe this.
- 24:01I, I don't, you know, like when it was when it was, I guess
- 24:05affirmed in scripture. Then I believed I was like, wow,
- 24:08this is real. And, and I believe like God was
- 24:11showing me something was part of my faith journey.
- 24:14So OK. Obadiah 1:15 The day of the Lord
- 24:18is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be
- 24:21done to you. Your deeds will return upon your
- 24:25own head. I've heard people talk about
- 24:28this, people who've had like near death experiences and some
- 24:32of them got visions of hell and some of them got visions of the
- 24:38Kingdom of God. And, and the ones who saw hell
- 24:44made this verse really memorable for me because they said like
- 24:50the things that they did to other people then happened to
- 24:53them in a way that even if it was something that they had fun
- 24:58doing, it was no longer fun. Like all the fun was gone out of
- 25:02it. And it was just, it became a
- 25:04burden, but it was just whatever they did to someone else came
- 25:08back to them. And these were people's
- 25:10experiences that they had. And after they had these near
- 25:13death experiences, their lives turned around and they repented
- 25:17and they turned towards God. I think God was showing mercy on
- 25:20them and giving them a, a, a scene of look into what their
- 25:25future was if they did not repent.
- 25:27These people had done lots of really horrible things, but then
- 25:31they saw this is what's going to happen to you.
- 25:33Like what you've done is going to come back to you and and so
- 25:37it's it's not something to play around with Zephaniah one verse
- 25:427 be silent before the sovereign Lord for the day of the Lord is
- 25:45near. The Lord has prepared a
- 25:47sacrifice. He has consecrated those he has
- 25:50invited. Here's another thing.
- 25:52The Lord has prepared a sacrifice.
- 25:54So this is this is coming. But then it says he has
- 25:56consecrated those he had has invited.
- 26:03He has made holy some. The Zephaniah 114 The great day
- 26:09of the Lord is near near and coming quickly.
- 26:12The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter.
- 26:15The mighty warrior shouts his battle cry.
- 26:20Then you get into the New Testament, 1 Corinthians 5 verse
- 26:235, this, this is like the second day this verse showed up.
- 26:28All I was searching for was the day of the Lord and this shows
- 26:31up. So hand this man over to Satan
- 26:34for the destruction of the flesh so that his spirit may be saved
- 26:39on the day of the Lord. To tell you what that story was.
- 26:43If you listen to the prior podcast, I did go over that.
- 26:46So just I won't do it again. But this is, you know, I guess
- 26:57Paul's way of just saying so that his, that his spirit may be
- 27:01saved on the day of the Lord like Satan will.
- 27:03That's part of the reason for people having tribulation,
- 27:09people having things going wrong in their life is to humble them,
- 27:14to destroy their flesh, to get them to focus on God when
- 27:17they're in a sinful state. These things keep coming on them
- 27:21like God disciplines his children, and we're going to
- 27:25keep getting discipline until we finally wake up and see that
- 27:30what God's doing. 2nd Corinthians 114 as you have
- 27:35understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that
- 27:39you can boast of us just as we boast of you in the day of the
- 27:43Lord Jesus. And then 1st Thessalonians 5
- 27:50verse 2 For you know very well that the day of the Lord will
- 27:55come like a thief in the night when Jesus returns.
- 27:59It's going to surprise people. People will not be expecting it.
- 28:04Not that very not the very moment that it happens.
- 28:07It will come like a surprise. People will know the season, but
- 28:12they will not know the exact day or hour as the way Scripture
- 28:18says. 2nd Thessalonians 2 too, not to be come easily unsettled
- 28:26or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us, whether by a
- 28:29prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter, asserting that the
- 28:32day of the Lord has already come.
- 28:35So people were saying that the day of the Lord had come, but
- 28:37Paul was writing to them and he's like, no, you know, like
- 28:40this is a rumor. It has not happened.
- 28:43And it obviously hasn't happened because we're still here on the
- 28:46earth and Jesus is not reigning as king.
- 28:48So after Jesus returns, he will reign as king.
- 28:52So then we will know the day of the Lord has come.
- 28:55So second Peter 3 verse 10. But the day of the Lord will
- 28:58come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with
- 29:02a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire and the earth
- 29:08and everything done in it will be laid bare.
- 29:13I mean, that's, that's going to be so people aren't going to
- 29:15miss the day of the Lord because this is talking about the whole
- 29:17earth and and fire and this is this is not going to be missed.
- 29:23People will not question did that happen yet?
- 29:27I mean, that's not going to happen.
- 29:29Not the way Scripture talks about the day of the Lord.
- 29:32Then in the book of Zechariah, he mentions on that day, which I
- 29:37believe is the day of the Lord when you start reading all the
- 29:39things that he says. So I'm going to read through the
- 29:41verses which it starts really in Zechariah 12 verse 3.
- 29:46But once he starts in this chapter on that day, just listen
- 29:51to this because these are multiple verses that reference
- 29:54that day, and I believe that day is the day of the Lord.
- 29:59So Zechariah 12 verse 3, on that day when all the nations of the
- 30:03earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an
- 30:07immovable rock for all the nations.
- 30:09All who try to move it will injure themselves.
- 30:12Verse 4:00 On that day I will strike every horse with panic in
- 30:16its rider, with madness, declares the Lord.
- 30:18I will keep a watchful eye over Judah, but I will blind all the
- 30:21horses of the nations. Verse 6:00 On that day I will
- 30:26make the clans of Judah like a firepot on a woodpile, like a
- 30:30flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume all the
- 30:34surrounding people's right and left, but Jerusalem will remain
- 30:37intact in her place. Then in verse 8, on that day the
- 30:43Lord will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the
- 30:46feeblest among them will be like David, and the House of David
- 30:49will be like God, like the Angel of the Lord going before them.
- 30:53Verse 9:00 On that day I will set out to destroy all the
- 30:57nations that attack Jerusalem. Verse 11.
- 31:02On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as
- 31:06the weeping of Haddad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
- 31:10Then chapter 13 he talks about it more.
- 31:13Verse one. On that day a fountain will be
- 31:16opened to the House of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to
- 31:21cleanse them from sin and impurity.
- 31:25Well, that hasn't happened yet either.
- 31:27Again, This is why I believe this is the day of the Lord the
- 31:31people. As it says here, the House of
- 31:34David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will be cleansed from
- 31:39sin and impurity on that day. I will ban verse 2 of chapter
- 31:4613. On that day I will banish the
- 31:48names of the idols from the land, and they will be
- 31:53remembered no more, declares the Lord Almighty.
- 31:56I will remove both the prophets and the spirit of impurity from
- 32:04the land. So there's going to be a, you
- 32:07know, this is the wrath of God is going to take care of this.
- 32:10This is the separation between good and evil before Jesus
- 32:14reigns here on the earth. Verse 4 On that day, every
- 32:17prophet will be ashamed of their prophetic vision.
- 32:20They will not put on a prophet's garment of hair in order to
- 32:25deceive. So there are these false
- 32:27prophets who are saying peace, peace, nothing's going to happen
- 32:32to Jerusalem. We're we're all fine and you
- 32:35know, giving these false visions that we're not from God and this
- 32:40is God's going to deal with them.
- 32:42In then in chapter 14, verse 4, it says on that day, his feet
- 32:48this is talking about Jesus will stand on the Mount of Olives
- 32:51east of Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives will be split in two
- 32:57from east to West, forming a great valley with half of the
- 33:01mountain moving north and half moving South.
- 33:06Verse 6. On that day there will be
- 33:10neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness.
- 33:16On that day, living water will flow from Jerusalem, half of it
- 33:23east to the Dead Sea and half of it West to the Mediterranean
- 33:28Sea. In summer and in winter, Jesus
- 33:33has the living water. I mean, this is probably, I
- 33:36don't know if this is going to be sounds like it's going to be
- 33:38literal and but it could also be symbolic too, about Jesus
- 33:44bringing the living water to people.
- 33:48The living water is the Holy Spirit.
- 33:50That's how people become sanctified.
- 33:52That's how people become cleansed.
- 33:54That is the fountain Jesus talks to you.
- 33:56If you drink from the fountain that I give, you will never
- 33:58thirst again. That's what he says to the woman
- 34:00at the well. This is about what Jesus does.
- 34:03So on that day water will flow for out from Jerusalem,
- 34:06Jerusalem, half of it east to the Dead Sea and half of it West
- 34:10to the Mediterranean Sea in summer and in winter.
- 34:13That's Zechariah chapter 14, verse 8, verse 9.
- 34:17The Lord will be king over the whole earth on that day.
- 34:23There will be 1 Lord and His name, the only name, and that
- 34:28name is Jesus. Zechariah 4I added that name is
- 34:32Jesus. But yes, that's who this is.
- 34:36Zechariah 14 verse 9, verse 13. On that day people will be
- 34:41stricken by the Lord with great panic.
- 34:44They will seize each other by the hand and attack one another.
- 34:49In verse 20 it says on that day holy to the Lord will be
- 34:54inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in
- 34:59the Lord's house will be like sacred bowls in front of the
- 35:03altar. 21 Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the
- 35:09Lord Almighty, and all who come to sacrifice will take some of
- 35:13the pots and cook in them. And on that day there will no
- 35:17longer be a Canaanite in the House of the Lord Almighty.
- 35:24Now Jesus talks about on that day, which is kind of
- 35:30interesting. Yeah, it's, it's interesting to
- 35:35read these things. So in Matthew I, I think I want
- 35:37to read these things that Jesus said Matthew 722 Many will say
- 35:43to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophecy in your name
- 35:47and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform
- 35:51many miracles? This is the this is the part
- 35:54that most people don't want to hear because Jesus's response to
- 36:00them, then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you away
- 36:04from me, you evil doers. I think this really is about
- 36:09whether people have made Jesus the Lord of their life, because
- 36:14these people are saying Lord, Lord, did we not?
- 36:17And he's like, what do you mean? I haven't been your Lord.
- 36:21You're your own Lord or somebody else's or you know, he doesn't
- 36:25stop them from driving out demons.
- 36:28But often he will say like even to the Pharisees and the
- 36:31hypocrites, he said, you know, when I looked up cup, this came,
- 36:35this came up like the cup. You clean the cup on the
- 36:38outside, but the inside is filthy.
- 36:41And that's what Jesus talks about people like it's not what
- 36:45they eat that defiles them. It's what comes from inside
- 36:48them. Like our inner, our inner being,
- 36:52our inner motivation, what we do like are we obedient to Christ?
- 36:58Is he Lord of our life? Or do we say, no, I want to do
- 37:02what I want to do like that's great that you died on the cross
- 37:05for me. You saved me, but I don't know
- 37:08that I want you to be Lord over my life.
- 37:10I mean, who's saying that right now?
- 37:12Because I think that could be the person that Jesus says this
- 37:16to. I think it's a warning that, you
- 37:19know, if Jesus is not Lord of your life, if you are not in
- 37:23obedience in submission to Christ, you might want to
- 37:26rethink and reflect on this and pray to pray to Jesus about and
- 37:30ask Jesus, you know, am am I OK with you?
- 37:35Are you, am I going to hear this from you?
- 37:39I think it's, it's a good time to do that right now for all of
- 37:43us to, to ask God and to make sure that we have Jesus as Lord
- 37:50of our life. Everybody loves his sacrifice,
- 37:53but do they love it if he's Lord, if he guides them, if he,
- 37:57if we live by his rules? Do you like that or do you
- 38:01reject that? Something to seriously think
- 38:05about. Let's see Mark chapter 2, verse
- 38:1120. But the time will come when the
- 38:14bridegroom will be taken from them.
- 38:16And on that day they will fast. So that's a different day
- 38:18because that was when Jesus died on the cross.
- 38:21And they were fasting. You know, they were celebrating
- 38:23with Jesus when he was there. But then when he goes away,
- 38:26yeah, that's a fasting and mourning.
- 38:30Luke 10 verse 12 I tell you it will be more bearable on that
- 38:35day for Sodom than for that town.
- 38:39So this is when Jesus told his disciples to go out and go.
- 38:49It says when you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is
- 38:53offered to you, heal the sick who are there and tell them the
- 38:56Kingdom of God has come near to you.
- 39:01There's a healing in that. But when they when you enter a
- 39:03town and are not welcomed, go into the streets and say even
- 39:08the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to
- 39:12you. Yet be sure of this.
- 39:15The Kingdom of God has come near, says, I tell you it will
- 39:19be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.
- 39:23People who reject Jesus, that's what he's talking about.
- 39:27Towns that reject Jesus. Sodom was destroyed and he said
- 39:32it'll be more bearable on that day for Sodom, which got
- 39:36destroyed, than for that town. Isn't that interesting or
- 39:40something to think about? Luke 1731.
- 39:44On that day, no one who is on the housetop with possessions
- 39:49inside should go down to get them.
- 39:51Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.
- 39:55This is talking about when Jesus returns and and there is this
- 40:02abomination of desolation that is seen by everyone and.
- 40:11There when they see this is it says Jesus said it in Matthew
- 40:1524, he says when you see the abomination of desolation that
- 40:18was spoken about through Daniel, the prophet let no one enter his
- 40:23house, but they must flee. And so Luke 1731 says the same
- 40:29thing. On that day, no one who is on
- 40:32the housetop with possessions should go down to get them.
- 40:34Likewise no one should in the field should go back for
- 40:38anything. And he said, remember Lot's
- 40:40wife, whoever tries to keep their life will lose it and
- 40:45whoever loses their life will preserve it.
- 40:49And this is he also tells you, I tell you that on that night, two
- 40:52people will be in one bed, one will be taken and the other
- 40:56left. Two women will be grinding grain
- 40:58together, one will be taken and the other left.
- 41:02So is that the gathering when Jesus returns and he sends his
- 41:07angels out with a with a trumpet sound and a loud shout for his
- 41:10angels to gather the elect, those who are prepared.
- 41:14John 14, verse 20. On that day you will realize
- 41:18that I am in my Father and you are in me and I am in you.
- 41:27This is like something this is something that Jesus prayed to
- 41:30the Father before he died on the cross.
- 41:32He said to make them one as we are one.
- 41:35The only kind of one that God had talked about in Scripture
- 41:39that I recall is like in a marriage, when a husband and a
- 41:43wife to come together, they the 2 become one.
- 41:46Actually, when somebody has sex with somebody, the 2 become one.
- 41:49And it's clear throughout Scripture about that as well.
- 41:54And but there is, there's the right way and the wrong way.
- 41:59Like Satan, you know, lures people in with that where
- 42:04there's like indiscriminate sex and it it says that all other
- 42:09sins are outside your body, but that one sin is not, it affects
- 42:13your innermost being. And it's something that has to
- 42:16be dealt with with with God. And anyway, there is a good
- 42:23sight of it all, and that's what Jesus prayed for is that we all
- 42:26become one with Him and the Father, and that's what he
- 42:31wanted. And He has perfect love with the
- 42:35Father, and that's what He wants for all of us, to make them one
- 42:40as we are one. That's what He said to the
- 42:42Father in prayer. And so now he's telling on that
- 42:45day you will realize. So let's see, He's comforting
- 42:48his disciples and he's telling them on that day you will
- 42:51realize that I am in my Father and you are in me, and I am in
- 42:54you. I mean, that would be like, what
- 42:56are you talking about? But then he says next, whoever
- 43:00has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.
- 43:06The one who loves me will be loved by my father, and I too
- 43:10will love them and show myself to them.
- 43:14So the thing about being obedient to God, it doesn't gain
- 43:20us anything. But what it does is it shows God
- 43:22that we love him, that we respect him, that we respect his
- 43:26commands and we live by them. We're willing to live by them
- 43:29even though the world doesn't live by them and the world makes
- 43:33fun of people or ridicules people or, I don't know, makes
- 43:38it challenging for people to live in obedience to Christ then
- 43:48but but God sees it as this person loves me.
- 43:52That's what he says. If you obey my commands, you
- 43:54love me. Let's see what else then I'm
- 43:59going to skip the one that acts, one that's not talking about the
- 44:04day of the Lord, but then may the Lord in Second Timothy 118,
- 44:11it says may the Lord grant that He will find mercy from the Lord
- 44:16on that day. You know very well and how many
- 44:19ways He helped me in Ephesus. So I don't know about that day.
- 44:26That is probably a different day that's being discussed now.
- 44:31This is second Timothy 4 verse 8.
- 44:35Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which
- 44:40the Lord, the righteous judge will award to me on that day,
- 44:45and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his
- 44:50appearing. So this is this is Paul talking
- 44:55about like the prior sentence says, I have fought the good
- 44:59fight. I have finished the race, I have
- 45:01kept the faith. So he's he knows that there are
- 45:07rewards in doing this and and Paul got his revelations
- 45:11directly from Christ in his teachings.
- 45:14So anyway, the day of the Lord and on that day there's you can
- 45:19probably see that there are, you know, I guess blessings for
- 45:24those who are connected, who are reconciled with Christ, but then
- 45:29not so great for those who are against Christ.
- 45:35Let's see the cup. He does talk about the cup here
- 45:43and I you can probably search it and look through because this
- 45:47has already got become pretty long.
- 45:50But, and this is interesting, the last one in this first
- 45:54section, it says First Corinthians 10/21.
- 45:57You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too,
- 46:02you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table
- 46:07of demons. Very interesting, and let's see
- 46:18also about drinking the cup of, you know, at Passover.
- 46:24In First Corinthians 11/27 it says so then whoever eats the
- 46:29bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will
- 46:34be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
- 46:40Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat the
- 46:44bread and drink from the cup. And then in Revelation, pretty
- 46:51much everywhere it talks about the cup refers to the wrath of
- 46:55God. So you'll find that in
- 46:58Revelation 1410, Revelation 16, Revelation 17, and Revelation 18
- 47:05where it talks about the Cup of Wrath.
- 47:08And so anyway, I think I'm going to just wrap it up and you can
- 47:17search the cup and read the verses that go along with it
- 47:20since this this already has become another long podcast.
- 47:23So if you found this beneficial, please subscribe or share it
- 47:27with others and hope you come back for Chapter 13 next.
