- 0:00Speaker 1: This is kiss FM. You're watching something Who done it?
- 0:05Speaker 1: Who done it? And you think they didn't figure out?
- 0:09Speaker 1: You know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna go put
- 0:12Speaker 1: on my trousers. I'm gonna get out there. I'm a
- 0:14Speaker 1: fair out who did do it? It's not my job.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I'm not a cop, I'm not a p I I'm
- 0:18Speaker 1: not trained to. You know, I'm not Matt Locke. I'm
- 0:24Speaker 1: gonna get out there and figure is Matt Locker who
- 0:25Speaker 1: done it? I don't know. That just popped into my head.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I Matt Lock's an attorney. Yeah. I was trying to
- 0:31Speaker 1: think of there's a really old show called murder. She wrote,
- 0:35Speaker 1: what was her name, Jessica Lang, Jessica Lang. Look it up, kids,
- 0:41Speaker 1: we're Jessica Fletcher. Oh Jessica. Wait, who's Jessica Lang. Jessica
- 0:46Speaker 1: was an actress. She was in among Wow. You can't
- 0:49Speaker 1: expect to the gout. One of the names you can't
- 0:53Speaker 1: exp Angela Lansberry's who I'm thinking. I'm not even Jessica.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Look the show the Wheel. There's two wheels on a okay.
- 1:00Speaker 1: But the point is I never listened to your true
- 1:02Speaker 1: crime and be like I'm gonna go solve it. Now,
- 1:04Speaker 1: you're telling me that some La moms you had, some
- 1:06Speaker 1: time after their kids went to school, decided to pick
- 1:09Speaker 1: a cold case and they solved it.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yes, these moms had kids that are kind of getting older,
- 1:13Speaker 2: and they're kind of in that stage of their life
- 1:15Speaker 2: where they have a little bit extra more free time.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Maybe the kids are now driving, so they're not like
- 1:21Speaker 2: driving them so much, and they decided during the pandemic
- 1:24Speaker 2: to bond over their love for true crime. I saw
- 1:27Speaker 2: this whole article in the La Times about this book
- 1:29Speaker 2: and these moms, and they just started looking into this
- 1:32Speaker 2: this old case from like fifteen years ago, and it
- 1:35Speaker 2: was a cold case, just out of curiosity. They had
- 1:38Speaker 2: no law enforcement backgrounds. These four moms are just regular
- 1:41Speaker 2: moms working different jobs, different careers, and they tracked down records,
- 1:47Speaker 2: they followed leads, they would communicate, you know, in between
- 1:51Speaker 2: carpols and things, just like be like, what did you find?
- 1:53Speaker 2: What did you find? And ultimately they ended up solving
- 1:56Speaker 2: this fifteen year old case, which I just think is
- 1:59Speaker 2: so remarkable for them to completely now shift their careers
- 2:04Speaker 2: and this is like what they're doing. The book's called
- 2:07Speaker 2: The Carpool detectives if you want to check it out.
- 2:10Speaker 2: But the whole thing was just a really interesting second act.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Are they doing pro bono or are they getting fees
- 2:17Speaker 1: from something?
- 2:18Speaker 2: Because these are the questions, and I feel like we
- 2:20Speaker 2: need to like I want to have them on, like
- 2:23Speaker 2: if these are LA moms, like, come on.
- 2:25Speaker 1: And we need to talk to you. Anything to be
- 2:28Speaker 1: scared of.
- 2:30Speaker 2: That's the thing, right when you start digging into some
- 2:33Speaker 2: of these cases. What if there's relatives of said murderer
- 2:38Speaker 2: who knows? Like, yeah, I don't know. I would be
- 2:40Speaker 2: scared to be connected to anything like that.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Look, I can't listen to true crime anyway. I can't
- 2:45Speaker 1: even you sisty friends of mine, they love it before
- 2:50Speaker 1: I love.
- 2:50Speaker 2: The true like run Away on Netflix's kind of true crime.
- 2:56Speaker 1: It's not true true crime, fictional thing, but it's it's
- 3:01Speaker 1: a mystery. It's like who who did it? If it's
- 3:05Speaker 1: can't be like I can sleepy sleep after that one. Sure,
- 3:10Speaker 1: but it's fascinating. Good on them getting out there and
- 3:13Speaker 1: being proacted. I know coming up next they should work
- 3:16Speaker 1: on some new stuff. I mean, if you want to
- 3:18Speaker 1: solve some crimes, like what's what's active, what's out there Now,
- 3:20Speaker 1: we need to know uh Aren Grindy tickets next
