- 0:12Hello friends. It's shown here and it is a
- 0:16Friday and my congratulations to you on making it through this
- 0:21week. Well done.
- 0:22We are in March. I'm not sure where you are most
- 0:26of us. That means the beginning of
- 0:28autumn things done, And cool down or you might be in the
- 0:31other side of the world, where you're finally at the other side
- 0:34of winter and things now begin to warm up, but wherever we are,
- 0:38things are hotting up in the Psalms as we reach some 55.
- 0:43This is a Psalm probably not a cheery Friday kind of a Psalm
- 0:47but it's the same way. David Cries Out To God In This.
- 0:51Lament as he is heartbroken by the Betrayal of his friend.
- 0:58And friends, you know, how much betrayal hurts when we are
- 1:01betrayed and sometimes it hurts even more.
- 1:03When we realize that we are the ones who have betrayed another.
- 1:08So wherever you are in that world of betrayal, whatever your
- 1:11experiences have been, we can join together with David as he
- 1:15cries out in this arm for the choir director.
- 1:20A Psalm of David to be accompanied by stringed
- 1:23instruments, you'll have to use your imagination for that.
- 1:26Let's read together, friends. 55.
- 1:39Listen to my prayer. O God, do not ignore my cry for
- 1:43help. Please, listen and answer me
- 1:46for. I am overwhelmed in my troubles.
- 1:49My enemies shouted me, making loud and wicked threats.
- 1:54They bring trouble on me and angrily hunt.
- 1:57Me down my heart pounds in my chest.
- 2:01The terror of death. Assaults, me fear and trembling
- 2:05overwhelm me and I can't stop shaking.
- 2:09I do that, I had wings like a dove then I would fly away and
- 2:15rest I would fly far away to the quiet of the Wilderness.
- 2:21How quickly I would Escape far from this Wild Storm of hatred,
- 2:26confuse them Lord and frustrate their plans for I see violence
- 2:32and conflict in this city. Its walls are patrolled day and
- 2:36night against Invaders but the real Danger.
- 2:39Jay is wickedness within the city.
- 2:42Everything is falling apart threats and cheating a rampant
- 2:46in the streets. It is not an enemy who taunts
- 2:50me, I could bear that. It is not my foes who, so
- 2:55arrogantly insult me, I could have hidden from them.
- 2:58Instead it is you my equal, my companion and close friend.
- 3:05What good Fellowship we once enjoyed as we walked together in
- 3:09the house of God? Let death stalk my enemies.
- 3:14Let the grave swallowed him alive for evil makes its home
- 3:18within them but I will call on God and the Lord will Rescue Me
- 3:25morning noon and night. I cry out in my distress and the
- 3:30Lord hears my voice. He ransoms me and keeps me safe
- 3:35from the battles. Waged against me though.
- 3:39Many still oppose me God. Who has ruled forever will hear
- 3:44them? And humble them for my enemies
- 3:47refused to change their ways, they do not fear God.
- 3:52As for my companion, he betrayed his friends.
- 3:56He broke his promises, his words are as smooth as butter, but in
- 4:01his heart is war, his words are as soothing as lotion.
- 4:07But underneath a daggers, give your burdens to the law.
- 4:11Lord and He will take care of you.
- 4:14He will not permit The Godly to slip and fall.
- 4:18But you o God, will send the wicked down to the pit of
- 4:21Destruction murderers and Liars. Will die young, but I am
- 4:27trusting you to save me. Jesus, as we read these words.
- 4:44There's one line jumps out at me today as I almost here.
- 4:48David speaking to me speaking to us saying, give your burdens to
- 4:52the Lord and He will take care of you.
- 4:57Thank you for this invitation. Thank you.
- 5:00That the burdens we carried. Don't need to be our own that we
- 5:05can give them to you as our loving father.
- 5:08Just as a small child can ask his parents for help with the
- 5:13difficult, things of the world, you offer your help to us and
- 5:19you will take care of us. Help us to always turn to you.
- 5:25Jesus to bring our challenges to you and to trust in the care
- 5:31that you lavish on us. We are so grateful and we love
- 5:37you and it's in your name that we pray.
- 5:40Amen.
