- 0:35Speaker 2: How you wake up in the morning, how you go
- 0:37Speaker 2: to bed at night. If you wake up walk into
- 0:40Speaker 2: that master bath and realize the tiles coming up and
- 0:44Speaker 2: this is so old, and this doesn't work anymore in
- 0:46Speaker 2: these cabinets, a bad mood for the day doesn't make
- 0:49Speaker 2: any sense.
- 0:50Speaker 1: You want to end the.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Day, you want to relax, you want to you want

- 0:56Speaker 1: Like, gosh, this is gross. That's that's no way to live.
- 1:00Speaker 2: People talk to Boer today about that bathroom, about turning
- 1:04Speaker 2: into something that actually works for you, that has the
- 1:07Speaker 2: storage space for you, that has the configuration that works

- 1:48Speaker 2: dot com. The popcorn moment, let's go, let's go there.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It's a story you need here to believe. Then grab
- 1:54Speaker 2: your popcorn because there is more.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yes, the shutdown is Oh what was it? Forty three
- 2:02Speaker 1: days of.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Absolute nonsense, of unnecessary shutdown, of children not being fed,
- 2:09Speaker 2: of people not being.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Paid, and Democrats wanted it to continue.
- 2:12Speaker 2: By the way, Oh, they tried some last minute antics there,
- 2:16Speaker 2: did Hakeem Jeffries. They tried all the last minute shenanigans
- 2:22Speaker 2: about extending subsidies for the Affordable Care Act, which clearly
- 2:26Speaker 2: isn't affordable. I would share with you the audio of
- 2:30Speaker 2: Hakeem Jeffries calling it the Republican healthcare crisis, but that's
- 2:35Speaker 2: just boring and nonsense and garbage, and I don't think
- 2:38Speaker 2: it needs to be shared.
- 2:39Speaker 1: He said it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I don't need to share the audio, but you know
- 2:42Speaker 2: he said it, so we could just move on from there.
- 2:46Speaker 1: But this was a take John carl from ABC on
- 2:53Speaker 1: with Stephen.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Colbert, because where else is he gonna go? And this
- 2:59Speaker 2: is his take on the shutdown. Now, John Carl, I believe,
- 3:02Speaker 2: for a while led the White House Correspondence Association.
- 3:04Speaker 1: John Carley journalist.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I mean I would like for that to be the case,
- 3:10Speaker 2: but with stuff like this, I now have to look.
- 3:12Speaker 1: At it suspect and people can disagree with me.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Listen, Democrat senators are dealing with the fallout of having
- 3:22Speaker 3: voted with Republicans to end the shutdown.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Have you that doesn't help now, but thank you.
- 3:31Speaker 2: So first things first, there's the audience saying it was
- 3:36Speaker 2: wrong to end the shutdown. They wanted air traffic controllers
- 3:40Speaker 2: not to get paid, they wanted kids not to get fed.
- 3:43Speaker 2: That's the Colbert audience. I'm utilizing their words against them.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I will not let anybody get angry with me. That's
- 3:52Speaker 2: their problem. Maybe they should have been so cavalier saying
- 3:55Speaker 2: that Donald Trump was going to let kids starve. They
- 3:58Speaker 2: did this, they opened it up. I say, they're the
- 4:02Speaker 2: ones who have to deal with it.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Now.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You don't understand what I'm saying. Allow me to try
- 4:07Speaker 2: and make it easier for you. They bought their tickets,
- 4:12Speaker 2: they knew what they were getting into.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I say, let them crash. Glad we hugged it out. Continue.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Won't you have you talked with any of these eight senators?
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah? I have.
- 4:25Speaker 4: And I've also talked to senators who were against this
- 4:28Speaker 4: and wanted to continue the fight and wanted to continue
- 4:30Speaker 4: the shutdown and to force the Republicans to give in
- 4:34Speaker 4: on healthcare, which.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Was the stated goal slide Chuck Schumer and others like, We're.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Kno going to back down.
- 4:39Speaker 4: We're going to insist it.
- 4:40Speaker 3: We have to make sure that we get the ACA subsidies.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Yeah, and they ultimately, But I got to tell you
- 4:46Speaker 4: my conversations with senators who were technically opposed to this,
- 4:50Speaker 4: Democrats were actually happy to see this ends. I mean
- 4:53Speaker 4: that the shutdown had gone on for.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Forty three days.
- 4:56Speaker 4: They elevated this issue of the fact that for twenty
- 5:00Speaker 4: plus million Americans, health insurance premiums are going to skyrocket
- 5:04Speaker 4: on January first, and the Republicans showed no signs of
- 5:08Speaker 4: giving in on this at all. Airports were ground to
- 5:11Speaker 4: a halt, people were about to lose their food stamp benefits,
- 5:14Speaker 4: and I think there was a feeling like, you know,
- 5:17Speaker 4: we've elevated the issue and it's time to move on.
- 5:20Speaker 1: That's a lie, John Carl. You're lying right there.
- 5:25Speaker 2: It's a lie, and you're a liar, and ABC has
- 5:28Speaker 2: hired a liar who lies on air.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I want to make sure I was clear about the
- 5:33Speaker 1: liar and the lying in John Carl.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Democrats don't feel like they elevated the issue and it
- 5:40Speaker 2: was time to let it go. Your words said they
- 5:43Speaker 2: wanted it to continue. Their words are they wanted to
- 5:46Speaker 2: continue to continue. And there is now a concerted effort
- 5:49Speaker 2: among some Democrats to push Chuck Schumer out of his
- 5:52Speaker 2: leadership role. Do you think that's because everything went well
- 5:55Speaker 2: and they elevated the issue and now it was time
- 5:57Speaker 2: for everything to end and the shutdown to end.
- 6:00Speaker 1: No, they're infuriated with the.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Eight Democrats and the seven Democrats won independent who came
- 6:05Speaker 2: over and voted with the Republicans.
- 6:07Speaker 1: They were fighting it in the House of Representatives.
- 6:11Speaker 2: There are six Democrats who came over to vote with
- 6:15Speaker 2: the Republicans. Two Republicans voted with the Democrats. Thomas Massey
- 6:18Speaker 2: was one of them. A Representative Stuby out of Florida
- 6:21Speaker 2: was the other. They didn't want this to end. The
- 6:25Speaker 2: Democrats didn't want this to end. And the everybody who
- 6:30Speaker 2: just booed they were in favor of this continuing. John
- 6:35Speaker 2: Carl is lying. John Carl is a liar. In his
- 6:40Speaker 2: own words, he admits that he's lying. They wanted it
- 6:47Speaker 2: to continue. And to Indiana Democrats, let me just be clear.
- 6:52Speaker 2: All politics is about power. Now you say to me
- 6:55Speaker 2: it shouldn't be, or say to me, how dare you
- 6:57Speaker 2: say to me it's not true? What woo bo Democrats
- 7:00Speaker 2: didn't want to feed children so they could do something else,
- 7:04Speaker 2: and they wanted to utilize the shutdown and in a
- 7:07Speaker 2: position of power in order to get the Republicans to
- 7:10Speaker 2: do what they wanted to do. If Republicans in Indiana
- 7:14Speaker 2: don't redistrict, they're out of their Holy damn minds. There
- 7:18Speaker 2: is no argument against that I have found to be worthy.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And I know there are people against, and well, I
- 7:24Speaker 2: think they're wrong, and I'm going to continue to make
- 7:26Speaker 2: my argument. Democrats have no issue with the discussion of
- 7:29Speaker 2: power and the utilization of power. Yet when Republicans want
- 7:32Speaker 2: to utilize power, then it's the end of the world.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I say, nah, use the power, and if people don't
- 7:41Speaker 2: like it, they'll vote you out. Now, if you say
- 7:45Speaker 2: to me, who, I don't want to get voted out,
- 7:46Speaker 2: I'm scared, I'm not gonna do anything.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Well, we're going to vote you out for that too.
- 7:52Speaker 1: So I think that you should just stand up and
- 7:56Speaker 1: do Now, if.
- 7:57Speaker 2: You don't want that, you come out and say I
- 7:58Speaker 2: don't want to and deal with the consequence of that.
- 8:00Speaker 1: And it might work, and there might be consequences, might not.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I don't know, right, but if you don't understand what
- 8:07Speaker 2: the left is doing regarding power, it's an unserious play. Oh,
- 8:11Speaker 2: none of these Republicans deserve our vote. That is so
- 8:14Speaker 2: not an argument as to be laughable. It's not an argument.
- 8:18Speaker 1: It is childlike pablem You live in the real world.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Sometimes you gotta do things you don't like with people
- 8:25Speaker 2: you don't like, I agree, and sometimes you gotta stand up,
- 8:28Speaker 2: and I think this is one of those times for both.
- 8:33Speaker 1: John Carl Lied. Now you know
