- 0:12Speaker 2: we hug total strangers. At marathons, we hand water to
- 0:17Speaker 2: people who never see again. We pull over to help,
- 0:21Speaker 2: We stop for someone who's fallen. We give, we step up,
- 0:27Speaker 2: we show up. And yet in these moments, there's also
- 0:33Speaker 2: something we don't do. We don't act based on how
- 0:37Speaker 2: they look, who they love, where they're from, or what
- 0:43Speaker 2: they believe. We just act because the things that make
- 0:49Speaker 2: us different will never change. What makes us human. Go

- 1:25Speaker 6: It is the Zone eleven fifty AM and ninety three
- 1:29Speaker 6: point seven FM. Friday afternoon. My name is Ryan, joined
- 1:34Speaker 6: by Caleb.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Hello. Hello, as per usual, Good to see you again.
- 1:39Speaker 7: Caleb.
- 1:40Speaker 1: You say as per usual, But I mean this is
- 1:43Speaker 1: the first time that it's actually regular. You know what
- 1:46Speaker 1: I mean. No, you don't know it. This is hasn't
- 1:51Speaker 1: been regular already. No, I haven't been here. I wasn't
- 1:54Speaker 1: here last week.
- 1:56Speaker 7: You were, Oh, well you were, it was I but like, okay,
- 1:58Speaker 7: well that's well.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I mean, like, well, this is like the start of
- 2:00Speaker 1: the New Friday Show.
- 2:03Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean we are midway through August right now.
- 2:07Speaker 1: So yeah, it's the fall. It's the Fall Friday Show.
- 2:10Speaker 7: It is the Fall Friday.
- 2:11Speaker 6: So I mean we're getting back into the swing of things.
- 2:13Speaker 6: The NFL preseason is underway. The kids are going back
- 2:16Speaker 6: to school. I know, a whole bunch of them just
- 2:18Speaker 6: went back this week. College Station i SD, interestingly, is
- 2:22Speaker 6: like one of the holdouts that doesn't go back till
- 2:24Speaker 6: next week.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Well, I don't go back until two more weeks.
- 2:27Speaker 6: Okay, but universities always start after like the school district's
- 2:31Speaker 6: high school.
- 2:32Speaker 1: So I just feel like it's even later this year, honestly,
- 2:35Speaker 1: is it? I'm out of touch because I've been out
- 2:37Speaker 1: of college for five years. I mean I don't. I
- 2:39Speaker 1: don't think it was the last week of August last
- 2:42Speaker 1: last year. Maybe I'm misremembering, but well, what do you go?
- 2:45Speaker 7: What year are you going into?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Senior?
- 2:47Speaker 7: Senior? Nice? Ye, very nice one.
- 2:49Speaker 6: No Friday classes for me, Yeah, make it a good one.
- 2:53Speaker 6: I will try, because trust me, you'll you'll miss it
- 2:55Speaker 6: when it's over.
- 2:56Speaker 1: That's what they tell me.
- 2:58Speaker 7: I tell you from experience.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Now they're they are right to be fair.
- 3:03Speaker 6: I miss the fun parts of college, like the going
- 3:05Speaker 6: to the games and the social events. I don't miss
- 3:09Speaker 6: the being stressed out of my mind about the exam
- 3:11Speaker 6: that I have coming up in a day that I
- 3:13Speaker 6: haven't studied for at all. Yeah, so that is definitely
- 3:17Speaker 6: one thing I'm not gonna miss is miss school of it. Yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 6: you'll miss parts of it. But anyways, Yeah, we are
- 3:23Speaker 6: getting into the fall. Lots to discuss, lots to get
- 3:25Speaker 6: into today. We will absolutely talk about the Jade and
- 3:31Speaker 6: Daniels situation that arose this week, which is just so
- 3:35Speaker 6: so stupid.
- 3:36Speaker 1: We will get into our sports fail segment of the week.
- 3:39Speaker 6: We have that the SEC preview for Florida will play
- 3:44Speaker 6: around the middle of this hour around four thirty, we'll
- 3:47Speaker 6: have an entertainment section for you. Five o'clock hour, me
- 3:52Speaker 6: and you are going to play a little game. And
- 3:53Speaker 6: by me and you, I mean mainly just you, because
- 3:54Speaker 6: I'm the one that has all the answers. This was
- 3:56Speaker 6: originally supposed to be for you and Riley to like
- 3:58Speaker 6: compete with each other, but she wasn't able to come in.
- 4:01Speaker 6: She's got a whole lot of stuff on her plate,
- 4:02Speaker 6: which understandable given all she has to do, what time
- 4:05Speaker 6: she has to show up here in the mornings.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But I can't envy her workload at all.
- 4:09Speaker 6: I concoct it a little game. I don't know if
- 4:11Speaker 6: you're familiar with the game Two Truths and a lie.
- 4:15Speaker 6: Of course, I did an aggie athlete addition for you
- 4:18Speaker 6: that we will run through. I will see how well
- 4:21Speaker 6: you can do.
- 4:22Speaker 7: I'll keep scoring. Don't worry.
- 4:23Speaker 6: I think they're all like after two thousand athletes, so
- 4:26Speaker 6: I'm not going to make you like go way back.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I should be able to do pretty decent on that,
- 4:29Speaker 1: I feel like. But yeah, we'll play that for a
- 4:31Speaker 1: little bit.
- 4:31Speaker 6: In the five o'clock hour, we'll hit on a little
- 4:33Speaker 6: bit of NFL there's a couple headlines, especially now that
- 4:35Speaker 6: the preseason is getting underway. A couple thoughts from the
- 4:38Speaker 6: Texans and their loss to the Chargers, which I only
- 4:41Speaker 6: watched the first half of anyways, because it's preseason football.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Haven't watched any prew much do you really take out
- 4:46Speaker 1: of it?
- 4:46Speaker 6: But there were a couple things to make note of
- 4:49Speaker 6: Major League Baseball. We will get into that as we
- 4:53Speaker 6: are really into the home stretch of the season. The
- 4:55Speaker 6: Astros are about to begin a very very big series
- 4:58Speaker 6: with the Seattle Mariners.
- 4:59Speaker 1: That game Can you hear it right here? Is it
- 5:01Speaker 1: on the zone tonight?
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yes?
- 5:02Speaker 1: Forty pregame, Yes, so you will hear that. The whole
- 5:05Speaker 1: series of Astros Mariners this weekend is on the zone.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Right here on the zone.
- 5:10Speaker 6: You will have both the Astros and Rangers reports respectively
- 5:13Speaker 6: in the four and five o'clock hours, and then we
- 5:15Speaker 6: will close the show as we always do with the
- 5:19Speaker 6: police reports segment. Now, before we get into the whole
- 5:22Speaker 6: Jade and Daniels things, you saw you you came in
- 5:26Speaker 6: and showed me, but I saw it before you showed
- 5:28Speaker 6: me as well. The new Camo uniforms that A and
- 5:30Speaker 6: M debuted today, which most part I really like them.
- 5:36Speaker 6: You you had a little gripe about the helmets, I think,
- 5:39Speaker 6: but even that wasn't that big.
- 5:41Speaker 1: But yeah, what are they doing this against Arkansas?
- 5:44Speaker 8: Right?
- 5:44Speaker 3: Right?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Yeah? October third the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of
- 5:49Speaker 1: Texas A and M University celebration. So I think I
- 5:56Speaker 1: think this is a fitting choice for the game to
- 5:59Speaker 1: do this, Yes, because you know, paying tribute to A
- 6:03Speaker 1: and M's beginnings as a military college back in eighteen
- 6:08Speaker 1: seventy six when they were founded. So I think it
- 6:11Speaker 1: makes sense to have a military slash core of Cadets
- 6:16Speaker 1: inspired uniform for that game. I saw and San even
- 6:20Speaker 1: said that he thought what Red, White, and Blue game
- 6:23Speaker 1: would have worked, and that would have worked too. I'd
- 6:25Speaker 1: have been fine with either of those. But I'm glad
- 6:28Speaker 1: that we're finally bringing a military slash Corps inspired jersey.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I've been wanting that for a while.
- 6:35Speaker 6: Well what's interesting to me is actually how divided people
- 6:38Speaker 6: online are about these because I the first thing I
- 6:41Speaker 6: do when this kind of stuff gets posted, as I
- 6:42Speaker 6: go to the comments to see what people are saying,
- 6:44Speaker 6: and it's actually pretty split. It is well absolutely hating
- 6:49Speaker 6: everything about this and then saying that they look really good.
- 6:52Speaker 6: I'm in the they look really good camp. I mean,
- 6:54Speaker 6: I love everything about these. The one thing I saw
- 6:56Speaker 6: is that somebody said the pants should be camo as well,
- 7:00Speaker 6: which I wouldn't hate either.
- 7:02Speaker 7: I don't mind the maroon at all.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Yeah, so I feel like with any uniform, the pants are,
- 7:08Speaker 1: honestly the least the part that I care the least about. Yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 1: Maroon's fine, and it goes well, you know, because the
- 7:17Speaker 1: numbers and logos are all maroon, so it it adds
- 7:21Speaker 1: to the flow, I think it. So the funny thing
- 7:25Speaker 1: is is I don't know if they did that, like intentionally,
- 7:28Speaker 1: like oh, we're gonna make the pants maroon so it pops,
- 7:30Speaker 1: or if they were like, oh, well, we ran out
- 7:32Speaker 1: of time, get everything else ready, just let's just use
- 7:36Speaker 1: the base maroon pants, which, either way, you know whatever,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I generally like them. I have a couple small gripes.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I think the helmet camo and the jersey camo are
- 7:49Speaker 1: a little different, but it's really not that big a
- 7:51Speaker 1: deal and you're not gonna be able to tell unless
- 7:52Speaker 1: you're looking at it super closely. Yeah, like when you're
- 7:54Speaker 1: watching the game Oh, you're not gonna be able to.
- 7:56Speaker 6: I'm looking at like the full picture here, and it's
- 7:59Speaker 6: I see what you're talking about. It's a little bit different,
- 8:01Speaker 6: but it's really not that much at all.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I would the close up picture that A and M
- 8:04Speaker 1: posted on their website. They have the helmet sitting on
- 8:09Speaker 1: top of the jersey, and you cantel because the helmets
- 8:11Speaker 1: it's got like more green in there, But it doesn't
- 8:14Speaker 1: matter that much. It's just something that like I feel
- 8:17Speaker 1: like that wasn't that couldn't have been that hard to
- 8:19Speaker 1: just make a match.
- 8:20Speaker 6: But whatever, that big we're nitpicking at this point.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I think it's cool.
- 8:24Speaker 7: I think they look really good.
- 8:26Speaker 6: I'm gonna be really excited to see how they look
- 8:28Speaker 6: on the TV or from the stands against the green
- 8:31Speaker 6: of the turf. Yeah, that'll be playing on because these
- 8:33Speaker 6: are a lighter shade than the camel ones that Miami tried,
- 8:36Speaker 6: which were terrible. Yeah, those were terrible. They were darker green.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Well, these are more khaki, which I think is Yeah.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I think it's that's why I didn't love the helmet,
- 8:44Speaker 1: because I feel like it should be khaki because it's
- 8:46Speaker 1: core inspired, right, and that's going to make it stand
- 8:49Speaker 1: out a little more. I think white pants honestly might
- 8:52Speaker 1: have been better.
- 8:53Speaker 7: White pants would have gone well.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. Whatever they did with it, it's fine.
- 8:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I think regardless of what they chose, it was
- 9:01Speaker 6: gonna look good no matter what. But for what it
- 9:04Speaker 6: is now, I don't have.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Any issues with it. And they don't wear marine pants
- 9:07Speaker 1: that much anyway, so yeah, so why why not? And
- 9:10Speaker 1: it's funny how many alternate uniforms we're gonna have this season,
- 9:13Speaker 1: because what if we end up doing a throwback that's
- 9:15Speaker 1: like four or three alternates. Yeah, so we have right
- 9:19Speaker 1: now confirmed. We have the camos and the blackouts, and
- 9:23Speaker 1: I'm sure we'll wear maroon out at some point, so
- 9:28Speaker 1: we really won't see our base our base uniform combo
- 9:32Speaker 1: of maroon helmet, maroon jersey, white pants more than probably
- 9:35Speaker 1: like twice, which I'm fine with because any combination of
- 9:40Speaker 1: Maron and white's usually good, and our blackout uniforms are
- 9:43Speaker 1: the best in the nation in my opinion. So that
- 9:46Speaker 1: might be a hot take. I don't know, but I'm
- 9:49Speaker 1: very glad that we are embracing some variety because when
- 9:56Speaker 1: Jimbo was here, we had no variety at all. Didn't.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I don't think we throw fun period when Jimbo was here.
- 10:05Speaker 1: There was one fun season. Everything else that happened in
- 10:09Speaker 1: twenty twenty not good. And in football twenty twenty pretty good.
- 10:13Speaker 1: That was, yeah, pretty good. It goes to show how
- 10:14Speaker 1: much of an upside down yeah that was was, Yeah, exactly.
- 10:17Speaker 6: Anyways, so let's talk about this whole Jade and Daniels situation. Okay,
- 10:22Speaker 6: that came out yesterday, just all over the news. Jade
- 10:25Speaker 6: and Daniels, either him or I lean more towards his team,
- 10:30Speaker 6: sending his team, ls his agent, whatever you want to say,
- 10:33Speaker 6: send them, Yeah, sending LSU the cease and desist after
- 10:39Speaker 6: what DJ Pickett was given his number five to where which,
- 10:44Speaker 6: according to him, he was promised that he would be
- 10:46Speaker 6: able to do as a stipulation to play for LSU.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Well, Jade and Daniels didn't like that.
- 10:53Speaker 6: He is offended because I guess he thought that his
- 10:58Speaker 6: number five should have been ret so he set that
- 11:00Speaker 6: cease and desist, said LSU, you can no longer use
- 11:03Speaker 6: my name, image and likeness. According to an August fifth
- 11:07Speaker 6: letter that was sent to the Tigers athletic director.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Which this story is just really funny to save this
- 11:18Speaker 1: for your sports fails set.
- 11:19Speaker 7: I know, it.
- 11:20Speaker 6: Almost feels like it does belong there, doesn't it. I mean,
- 11:23Speaker 6: LSU for one, they first off, they haven't even retired
- 11:27Speaker 6: Joe Burrow's number, and I mean, yeah.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Well, nobody's warning.
- 11:29Speaker 6: I get nobody's warn it, but you know what, Jane
- 11:32Speaker 6: and Daniels is not Joe Burrow.
- 11:35Speaker 1: The best part yes, sorry, go ahead, no.
- 11:37Speaker 7: No, go go go for it.
- 11:38Speaker 1: My favorite thing that's come out of this is all
- 11:41Speaker 1: the the parodies that people are making of it on
- 11:44Speaker 1: social media, like somebody posting Jayden and Daniels teammates have
- 11:48Speaker 1: been instructed to only give him high fours, as high
- 11:51Speaker 1: fives are now sorry high fives are now believed to
- 11:55Speaker 1: constitute unauthorized use of his number. Five. Lead singer of
- 11:58Speaker 1: Maroon five Adam Levine, announced the band will be changing
- 12:00Speaker 1: its name to Maroon.
- 12:05Speaker 7: I didn't see that one. That's a good one. That's
- 12:06Speaker 7: a really good one.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Heard.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Jayden Daniels was the reason five dollars foot longs got discontinued.
- 12:13Speaker 1: So yeah, that's the best part of shenanigans like this
- 12:16Speaker 1: is that they always get made fun of. Mercilessly well, Alice.
- 12:20Speaker 6: You also has the policy h that even four jersey
- 12:24Speaker 6: numbers that are retired, any number retired after January of
- 12:28Speaker 6: two thousand and seven, does not preclude a current student
- 12:31Speaker 6: athlete in that sport from wearing the jersey number or
- 12:33Speaker 6: any other sports that is subject to me.
- 12:38Speaker 7: They're saying they.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Will retire a number, but they don't actually retire. Yeah, Okay,
- 12:42Speaker 1: that's weird thing I don't understand, especially in college sports.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I don't think with the amount of players on a
- 12:48Speaker 1: college football team, you really can't retire numbers because there's
- 12:52Speaker 1: usually two players that wear the same number, one on offense,
- 12:55Speaker 1: one on defense. Like you have so many, I mean
- 12:59Speaker 1: usually anywhere from eighty to one hundred and twenty players
- 13:03Speaker 1: on a college football team, especially an SEC team. So
- 13:07Speaker 1: I just feel like there's no real point in retiring.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I feel like that it'd be like with what you
- 13:12Speaker 1: could do what A and M did with Wade Taylor
- 13:15Speaker 1: put his jersey in the rafters like as like.
- 13:19Speaker 6: I was like, if Shade and Daniels wanted his number retired,
- 13:22Speaker 6: he should have gone and played for Buzz.
- 13:24Speaker 7: He would have retired it. Nobody would have known about
- 13:26Speaker 7: it until it was done.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but well Buzz didn't retire that jersey though, it's
- 13:30Speaker 1: just in the rat it's just in the RAF. I'll
- 13:31Speaker 1: still wear number four, yeah, because the other jersey, the
- 13:35Speaker 1: other and in basketball jersey in the Rafts is a
- 13:37Speaker 1: c law who wore number four. My question, he is like,
- 13:42Speaker 1: what where's the win in this?
- 13:45Speaker 9: Like?
- 13:45Speaker 6: What what does he really expected that he was going
- 13:47Speaker 6: to gain by doing this other than getting people talking
- 13:50Speaker 6: about him?
- 13:51Speaker 1: And like, oh, maybe that's it because he was hurting
- 13:54Speaker 1: you ordered like I.
- 13:56Speaker 6: Mean and to get to what what's your name again?
- 14:01Speaker 1: Jeez?
- 14:02Speaker 6: Stan, I promise I will remember that after like the
- 14:04Speaker 6: twentieth time I have to ask you it after what
- 14:07Speaker 6: stand second? Share with him about what Jade and Daniels
- 14:11Speaker 6: posted on his Instagram, which was that I have been
- 14:15Speaker 6: locked in on training camp and that's been my number
- 14:18Speaker 6: one focus. I have a lot of gratitude for my
- 14:20Speaker 6: time at LSU, and I'm proud of what my teammates
- 14:22Speaker 6: and I accomplished there. Obviously, there are issues to be
- 14:24Speaker 6: worked out between my team and LSU, and my hope
- 14:27Speaker 6: is that it will get done privately. My sole personal
- 14:30Speaker 6: focus is on Commander's football I realize the business of
- 14:34Speaker 6: football is unique, and I trust this can all be resolved,
- 14:37Speaker 6: So I don't even lean that it's him even doing this,
- 14:41Speaker 6: Like somebody on his team had nothing better to do
- 14:45Speaker 6: his mom, so they decided to I'm just going to
- 14:48Speaker 6: go and.
- 14:51Speaker 7: Throw a fit with LSU.
- 14:52Speaker 6: And by the way, the report also came out yesterday
- 14:55Speaker 6: that apparently he has asked LSU to return their copy
- 14:58Speaker 6: of the Heisman Trophy that Jade and Daniels won in
- 15:01Speaker 6: twenty twenty three.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Crazy, So you.
- 15:02Speaker 6: Can add that in there. LSU reportedly has no plans
- 15:05Speaker 6: to do so, shock.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Her there, right, So businesses across the nation have been
- 15:11Speaker 1: mandated to shift from nine to five work days to
- 15:14Speaker 1: nine to four work days.
- 15:15Speaker 7: Well that I'd be on board with that.
- 15:17Speaker 9: Sure.
- 15:18Speaker 1: For what it's worth, that'd cut out our whole show.
- 15:21Speaker 7: Yeah it.
- 15:22Speaker 6: DJ Pickett also says he does not plan on budgeting
- 15:25Speaker 6: from No, I wouldn't at this point. Yeah, right, Like
- 15:29Speaker 6: now all the attention is going to be on him
- 15:30Speaker 6: even more.
- 15:30Speaker 7: Why will you?
- 15:31Speaker 1: None of this is on him, Let's be clear. And
- 15:36Speaker 1: I saw somebody say promising a recruit a certain number
- 15:41Speaker 1: so that they will come to your school is lame,
- 15:42Speaker 1: and I'm like, why, well, if if that's the if
- 15:46Speaker 1: that's what it takes to get you over the over
- 15:48Speaker 1: the hump to get a top recruit, sure, I'll promise
- 15:51Speaker 1: you a jersey number.
- 15:52Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, that's what it says.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Why not.
- 15:54Speaker 6: Pickett actually said, I've worn the number of my whole life,
- 15:57Speaker 6: since I was four years old. It's the number I
- 15:59Speaker 6: was promised by LSU Jade and the best could player.
- 16:03Speaker 6: And he did real good here at LSU. So that's
- 16:05Speaker 6: what I didn't win a national championship. I mean, yeah,
- 16:09Speaker 6: he got the Heisman, and that's kind of about it.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I mean, to be fair, he was really good. He
- 16:15Speaker 1: was really wasn't his fault that LSU didn't win anything.
- 16:20Speaker 1: When when Brian Kelly's your head coach and your defensive
- 16:23Speaker 1: Swiss cheese, I don't know that there's much you can do.
- 16:27Speaker 6: So I mean, I mean it's still dumb, but like,
- 16:32Speaker 6: it wasn't really his fault that they didn't win anything.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah, they had the best quarterback well I mean at worst,
- 16:38Speaker 1: you know, like top three quarterback in the nation.
- 16:40Speaker 6: Yeah, either way, I mean it just really comes off
- 16:43Speaker 6: as an egotistical.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, absolutely, this was a really I think
- 16:47Speaker 1: it was just him wanting attention or okay, maybe not
- 16:50Speaker 1: him necessarily. Whoever's decision this was, whoever made this decision,
- 16:55Speaker 1: did it to get attention on Jade and Daniel's name
- 16:58Speaker 1: because he was hurt a lot of last year, so
- 17:00Speaker 1: people kind of forgot about him. I think he's like,
- 17:03Speaker 1: all right, season's about to start. I want everybody talking
- 17:04Speaker 1: about Jayden Daniels.
- 17:05Speaker 7: Yeah, get get like the eyes on me when I'm.
- 17:08Speaker 1: There's no such thing as bad publicity, as they say, Yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 1: that is.
- 17:11Speaker 7: True, so publicity.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess we'll see how it works out for him. Anyways,
- 17:17Speaker 1: we're gonna take a quick break here.
- 17:18Speaker 6: On the other side of that, we will come back

- 18:28Speaker 6: Work, work all week long, watching that we are back
- 18:31Speaker 6: at it on the Zone eleven fifty am and ninety
- 18:34Speaker 6: three point seven FM. My name is Ryan Caleb across
- 18:38Speaker 6: the table from me. Stay on there you go, got
- 18:40Speaker 6: this time behind the board. I promise I will try
- 18:43Speaker 6: and remember that. I just need to like associate it
- 18:44Speaker 6: with some I'm gonna associate with you with South Park
- 18:46Speaker 6: and then I'll never forget.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Well, what's so funny that that's the only stand I know?
- 18:50Speaker 11: Okay, Well, what's so funny is I was walking across
- 18:53Speaker 11: the hall the other day and you literally yelled, oh
- 18:55Speaker 11: their stand, man.
- 18:57Speaker 6: I just have a weird memory, don't time, and that's
- 19:00Speaker 6: that's the millennial memory for you. But okay, no, no, no,
- 19:03Speaker 6: I'll tell you why that happened. It is because you
- 19:05Speaker 6: walked by and Louie said, oh, there Stan first, and
- 19:08Speaker 6: so then it was like right there fresh in my mind.
- 19:10Speaker 6: I was like, so when you came back, I was like,
- 19:12Speaker 6: oh my god, they're stand Stan the Man, which by
- 19:15Speaker 6: that note, me and Louie like, we we're wall buddies
- 19:20Speaker 6: over there, and we are so so loud. Mister y
- 19:24Speaker 6: before you got here today, mister Dallance came out of
- 19:28Speaker 6: his life.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I got here. Yeah, I've been here.
- 19:30Speaker 7: Before you got here for the show today.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I've been had didn't leave.
- 19:34Speaker 7: Well, where were you the whole in.
- 19:35Speaker 1: The sports studio the whole day doing what I did
- 19:40Speaker 1: an interview for the high school report and okay I
- 19:45Speaker 1: edited a yeah, no, I was just trying to get
- 19:48Speaker 1: it all out of the way so I didn't have
- 19:49Speaker 1: to worry about it on the weekend.
- 19:50Speaker 6: Fair enough, I don't hate any of that. Well, anyways,
- 19:53Speaker 6: back to the what I was saying, So, me and
- 19:55Speaker 6: Louis are over there, just like I remember on doing
- 19:57Speaker 6: our usual dancer and mister comes down there, wait and
- 20:01Speaker 6: He's like, you two don't ever stop, do you, And
- 20:04Speaker 6: like he was like saying he was like saying it
- 20:07Speaker 6: in his like usual dark you were jokingly way.
- 20:09Speaker 7: But you could tell he was like actually genuinely annoyed.
- 20:11Speaker 6: So he like shuts the door to the hallway and
- 20:13Speaker 6: like walks down to the hallway.
- 20:15Speaker 7: Yeah, Louie's like, we better stop.
- 20:17Speaker 6: Yeah, So we like we got quiet, like after like
- 20:22Speaker 6: after your parent, like when you're a little kid comes
- 20:24Speaker 6: and like shouts at you like that, that's what we
- 20:26Speaker 6: turned into. And so we just got silent like for
- 20:28Speaker 6: the rest of the time up until I came in
- 20:30Speaker 6: here to start this show.
- 20:32Speaker 1: So that's the first time ever.
- 20:33Speaker 6: If mister Downs can hear me from down the hall,
- 20:35Speaker 6: which he probably can't, I apologize that me and Louis
- 20:38Speaker 6: are so loud annoying sometimes most of the time.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I can hear y'all from all the way down this.
- 20:43Speaker 7: Hole, the whole the whole building.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Can let's be real, on the first floor, they hear
- 20:47Speaker 1: me and Louie talking. I wonder if they can hear
- 20:49Speaker 1: y'all in the sales office. I would like to test that.
- 20:50Speaker 6: Oh, mister Hickson, who's the owner, like of Brian Broadcasting.
- 20:53Speaker 6: He's come by and he said, we don't even need
- 20:55Speaker 6: a transmitter for y'all, Like, just open the window. The
- 20:57Speaker 6: entire town will hear you and Louie talking.
- 21:00Speaker 1: This is very true.
- 21:01Speaker 6: Anyways, on to the actual segment. Here are sports fails
- 21:04Speaker 6: of the week. Since I was out last week, this
- 21:06Speaker 6: one actually rolls back about ten days. I think this
- 21:10Speaker 6: one happened on August the fourth, and this was actually
- 21:12Speaker 6: courtesy of Houston Astro's Taylor Tremmell, who this was against
- 21:18Speaker 6: the Toronto Blue Jays, thought he had hit a home run.
- 21:22Speaker 6: It was actually caught right at the wall, but he
- 21:24Speaker 6: rounded the entire bases thinking that he had hit a
- 21:27Speaker 6: home run.
- 21:28Speaker 1: This is the audio of how that sounded on the broadcast.
- 21:34Speaker 12: Swinging in a fly ball deep right center, Miles Straws
- 21:37Speaker 12: sprinting back at the wall and he's got it.
- 21:42Speaker 5: Trammell is running all the way around.
- 21:44Speaker 9: He has no idea.
- 21:45Speaker 12: I don't know if I've seen that though a guy.
- 21:48Speaker 12: I understand it that he got it high on the wall.
- 21:50Speaker 12: Maybe he thought it disappeared behind the glove over the fence.
- 21:53Speaker 12: And you're so locked in you're not paying attention to
- 21:55Speaker 12: smoke or horns or music. But he went all the
- 21:59Speaker 12: way around the basin, did a little thing before home play, sure,
- 22:02Speaker 12: and then said, hey, why is no one high five
- 22:04Speaker 12: in me? Why is everyone standing there in the dugout?
- 22:06Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 22:07Speaker 6: So, And it was funny if you saw the broadcast,
- 22:09Speaker 6: like as he got to home plate, it's when he
- 22:10Speaker 6: finally realized that he looks back, he's like.
- 22:12Speaker 7: Oh, that got caught.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Yikes.
- 22:15Speaker 6: No, it's funny because we've all had our little embarrassing
- 22:17Speaker 6: moments like that. I thought it was h I thought
- 22:21Speaker 6: it was a little wholesome, honestly, because he didn't really
- 22:25Speaker 6: gloat or anything. He was just genuinely like running around
- 22:28Speaker 6: the bases like, oh, I just hit another one, and
- 22:30Speaker 6: then no, you didn't.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Anyways, So this story right.
- 22:35Speaker 6: Here is actually probably one of my more favorite ones
- 22:38Speaker 6: of the week. And I've seen this reported on in
- 22:40Speaker 6: a couple different spots. And maybe you heard about the
- 22:44Speaker 6: golfer from Missouri.
- 22:47Speaker 1: You heard this story yet, Caleb, I don't think so.
- 22:50Speaker 6: Okay, So we have an amateur golfer who resigned from
- 22:53Speaker 6: his membership at a Saint Louis area club after admitting
- 22:57Speaker 6: to a now viral cheating scandal in which which he
- 23:00Speaker 6: faked making a hole in one. Zach Holland, he is
- 23:04Speaker 6: a former college golfer now reportedly as a two handicap,
- 23:09Speaker 6: told ESPN Radio in Saint Louis that he placed his
- 23:11Speaker 6: golf ball in the cup at the par three to
- 23:14Speaker 6: fourth hole before the start of a membership event at
- 23:17Speaker 6: Wing Haven Country Club, located in o'fallen, Missouri. He then
- 23:22Speaker 6: lied about acing the hole during the tournament and offered
- 23:25Speaker 6: the ball as proof of a hole in one to
- 23:27Speaker 6: his playing partners.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Okay, it's as dumb as it sounds.
- 23:34Speaker 6: Nathan Sharn's the acting PGA of America President.
- 23:37Speaker 7: I think I pronounce this name right, howbout it?
- 23:39Speaker 6: And the general manager at wing Haven confirmed the incident
- 23:43Speaker 6: in a statement to golf dot Com, adding that the
- 23:45Speaker 6: club promptly addressed the matter now. Zach Holland told ESPN
- 23:51Speaker 6: Radio that he completed the first three holes with his
- 23:54Speaker 6: group before telling his playing partners that he needed to
- 23:57Speaker 6: take a personal phone call allegedly regarding his mortally ill
- 24:02Speaker 6: grandmother while they played the fourth hole. In order to
- 24:06Speaker 6: keep up with the pace of play, Holland told the
- 24:08Speaker 6: group that he would tee off on number four ahead
- 24:11Speaker 6: of them and meet them later on the green. When
- 24:14Speaker 6: he reunited with his group, Holland said he told his
- 24:17Speaker 6: partners that he thinned his tee shot, but did not
- 24:21Speaker 6: see where the ball ended up. The group then found
- 24:23Speaker 6: the ball in the cup, assumed Holland had made a
- 24:26Speaker 6: hole in one, and celebrated before contacting a superintendent.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I don't have any words for that one. Of course
- 24:35Speaker 1: the radio show.
- 24:36Speaker 6: Yeah, according to Holland, you can't see my expression, you
- 24:39Speaker 6: can you can feel it.
- 24:40Speaker 9: Well.
- 24:40Speaker 6: Security footage reviewed by the Wing Haven staff showed Holland
- 24:44Speaker 6: driving near the fourth Green well before his scheduled tea time.
- 24:48Speaker 7: He said.
- 24:48Speaker 6: He ultimately admitted to the club officials that he faked
- 24:51Speaker 6: the hole in one and resigned his membership.
- 24:56Speaker 1: My question is, what else?
- 24:58Speaker 7: What else has this guy lined of?
- 25:00Speaker 1: What did you how did he expect that to go?
- 25:03Speaker 6: Like? How did if you're cheating on golf holes, how
- 25:06Speaker 6: do you trust this guy with anything?
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 25:08Speaker 6: Like is he married? Like if I was this dude's wife,
- 25:11Speaker 6: I'm being.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Like, man, just pulling out all the stuff I've had this.
- 25:16Speaker 6: D on a lot of exams in college, like in
- 25:18Speaker 6: high school. Well, I'm sorry, but this makes me ask
- 25:22Speaker 6: so many more questions about him and his like past,
- 25:25Speaker 6: like is this really what we're cheating on right now?
- 25:29Speaker 6: And I'm like, how do you think you're gonna get
- 25:31Speaker 6: away with something like that?
- 25:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 25:33Speaker 1: I don't really see the in twenty twenty six. I
- 25:36Speaker 1: don't know.
- 25:36Speaker 6: Man, in the Big twenty six, you're walking up with
- 25:39Speaker 6: your golf ball just putting it in the hole and
- 25:41Speaker 6: then going and telling everyone that you got a hole
- 25:43Speaker 6: in one.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Right, I don't think you can say the Big twenty six?
- 25:50Speaker 7: I'm sorry? Am I too much of a boomer?
- 25:51Speaker 11: Like?
- 25:51Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god, Yeah, no I am too.
- 25:54Speaker 7: I knew it. No you're not. Let's let's be real.
- 25:57Speaker 7: You are are you even? Can you even drink lee leet?
- 26:02Speaker 1: No comment?
- 26:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm the boomer of the room, that's for sure.
- 26:06Speaker 6: Low and louis left for the day, so I can't
- 26:08Speaker 6: even drag him in here and have him be the boomer. Anyways,
- 26:11Speaker 6: moving on, you've probably seen this. A lot of people
- 26:14Speaker 6: are not happy with the Bill's new stadium. They are
- 26:19Speaker 6: set to begin their twenty twenty six campaign in the
- 26:21Speaker 6: new high Mark Stadium, but fans have quickly voiced their
- 26:24Speaker 6: concerns about apparent obstructed views. The team said that it
- 26:30Speaker 6: has heard from quote less than one percent of personal
- 26:34Speaker 6: seat license account holders regarding the concerns, but plans to
- 26:37Speaker 6: address them on a case by case basis.
- 26:40Speaker 13: Now.
- 26:41Speaker 6: Buffalo Weather twitter accounts at Weather Underscore Buffalo tweeted multiple
- 26:46Speaker 6: pictures from seats in this new stadium and they said,
- 26:50Speaker 6: whoever designed the new Bills Stadium wasn't very keen to detail.
- 26:55Speaker 6: Imagine paying tens of thousands on PSLs and season tickets
- 26:59Speaker 6: and walk into a view like this, and then proceeded
- 27:02Speaker 6: to post multiple images of seats where the field view
- 27:05Speaker 6: is obstructed.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Yeah, this is pretty bad.
- 27:09Speaker 7: It is. Yes, that is one of them right there.
- 27:12Speaker 7: That is terrible.
- 27:14Speaker 6: So the team said the images were pretty representative of.
- 27:19Speaker 7: What the view would look like from each seat.
- 27:23Speaker 6: The team did inter issue a statement saying Saturday's practice
- 27:27Speaker 6: was a great opportunity to test the new stadium. We
- 27:31Speaker 6: are currently addressing internal and external feedback regarding the facilities
- 27:35Speaker 6: operation following the first event. Will utilize the next six
- 27:39Speaker 6: weeks to refine any details as we prepare for the
- 27:42Speaker 6: home opener on Thursday, September the seventeenth.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I'm interesting.
- 27:50Speaker 7: Look, football tickets cost a lot of money.
- 27:51Speaker 6: You don't want to be sitting up there, and then
- 27:53Speaker 6: all you're staring at is a poll for like.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Half the game that would not be not be ideal.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Like I feel like with baseball stadiums, people don't get
- 28:03Speaker 1: mad at it as much because baseball stadiums are known
- 28:07Speaker 1: to be more funky and have that charm. But it's
- 28:10Speaker 1: like with a football stadium, I mean, you.
- 28:13Speaker 6: Have what are supposed to be like professional architects designing
- 28:16Speaker 6: these stadiums, Like this kind of thing should not happen.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Well, I don't understand how this ever happens. Like yeah,
- 28:22Speaker 1: I feel like it usually happens because they're doing too much.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Like look at Kylefield. Kylefield is what the third largest
- 28:29Speaker 1: stadium in the United States of America. Yeah, find me
- 28:32Speaker 1: one obstructed view seat at Kylefield. And yes, it's because
- 28:37Speaker 1: it's basic and there's nothing like there's nothing wrong with that.
- 28:40Speaker 1: It's super you know, innovative going on with the design.
- 28:45Speaker 1: But because of that, there is nothing blocking your view.
- 28:48Speaker 1: So I just I think most of the time when
- 28:51Speaker 1: there's obstructive view stuff like this, it's because the stadium
- 28:55Speaker 1: is like, oh, We're going to be fancy and have
- 28:56Speaker 1: our press box jet out fifty feet and then it
- 28:59Speaker 1: just this is what happens. And they have like one
- 29:02Speaker 1: of the one of the pictures was like there was
- 29:05Speaker 1: a glass railing or something that was probably supposed to
- 29:08Speaker 1: look really cool, but it's right in the middle of
- 29:10Speaker 1: the field from that from that front row seat. So
- 29:13Speaker 1: not only and that's a front row seat of that section.
- 29:16Speaker 1: That is the worst part about it. Front row seats
- 29:18Speaker 1: are supposed to be the least obstructed. Yeah. I just
- 29:22Speaker 1: think this is another case of corporate entity is doing
- 29:27Speaker 1: too much.
- 29:27Speaker 6: Yeah, well, well I don't know what they're going to
- 29:32Speaker 6: do to fix it, because they said they're gonna review it.
- 29:33Speaker 7: I'm like, what are you gonna do?
- 29:34Speaker 6: And are you gonna like break down down the entire
- 29:36Speaker 6: part of the stadium, I mean just rebuild it or
- 29:38Speaker 6: like what.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I would be impressed.
- 29:40Speaker 6: That that would be like a new level of architecture.
- 29:44Speaker 6: Like you figure out how to do that, you're going
- 29:46Speaker 6: to be making a whole lot of money on future projects.
- 29:48Speaker 6: I will just say that anyways.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Yeah, now I would be interested in some discounted tickets.
- 29:54Speaker 6: Oh yeah, now that okay, Yes, if you're going to
- 29:57Speaker 6: sell those tickets like a heavy discount, then you could
- 30:00Speaker 6: sell me on on that just.
- 30:01Speaker 1: So absolutely, because then you can just go stand on
- 30:03Speaker 1: the concourse the whole game. Yeah.
- 30:05Speaker 11: Funny, it's like, didn't it take like a year and
- 30:07Speaker 11: a half to build and no, Yeah, brand new thought
- 30:10Speaker 11: about that, that that one section will be apparent apparently.
- 30:16Speaker 1: So yeah, if you're going to spend all this time
- 30:18Speaker 1: and money building a stadium, you have a lot of employees,
- 30:22Speaker 1: you should have an employee go sit and Okay, it
- 30:25Speaker 1: doesn't have to be literally every seat, but you can
- 30:28Speaker 1: have them sit in every like area and just see
- 30:32Speaker 1: what the view is and then you know what you
- 30:36Speaker 1: have to fix. And I guess after it's been built,
- 30:40Speaker 1: it's kind of hard to fix it after that. So yeah,
- 30:44Speaker 1: I don't know anyway, there's a lot that goes into that.
- 30:46Speaker 1: That's why that's not my job, because I would screw
- 30:48Speaker 1: it up to.
- 30:49Speaker 7: Yeah, we're going to take another break here.
- 30:51Speaker 6: On the other side of that, we will have the
- 30:53Speaker 6: SEC preview for Florida.
- 30:56Speaker 7: The AP Top.
- 30:57Speaker 6: Twenty five is also on the verge for My Day
- 31:00Speaker 6: the preseason poll. A couple polsters have already released their rankings.
- 31:03Speaker 6: We'll go over one of those because I have some
- 31:05Speaker 6: comments on that that is going to be coming up
- 31:07Speaker 6: here after the break on the zone eleven fifty AM
- 31:10Speaker 6: and ninety three point seven FM.
- 31:12Speaker 4: Hey Sefcheck Service Center is open another hour and a
- 31:15Speaker 4: half or so. They'll be closing up, but not for
- 31:17Speaker 4: the weekend. They're open tomorrow from seven until four. So
- 31:21Speaker 4: if you couldn't get by this week, you can go tomorrow.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Maybe you need a battery, heat that in mind. Make
- 31:26Speaker 4: sure you have the coolant, make sure everything is ready
- 31:28Speaker 4: to go. If you're going on the road, they'll give
- 31:31Speaker 4: you a road safety check, belts and hoses and everything,
- 31:33Speaker 4: and make sure you are ready. Pat and the entire
- 31:37Speaker 4: staff will make sure that everything is running the way
- 31:42Speaker 4: it's supposed to. That's why they have been in business
- 31:45Speaker 4: over fifty years. Remember they're open tomorrow seven until four.
- 31:50Speaker 4: SEP Check Service Center, twenty two hundred longmyre just down
- 31:53Speaker 4: from the post office in College Station.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Listen to the Houston Astros on his own thanks to Keilly.
- 31:59Speaker 5: Brge to this day, and when I hear that song,
- 32:13Speaker 5: I see he's standing there on that loan.
- 32:15Speaker 14: This gussy stoveball team flip flys.
- 32:19Speaker 5: And cut off jeans.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Some way between.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Florida was four and eight last season, ending the Billy
- 32:24Speaker 4: Napier Raid entered John sum Rawl from Twulane some rowl
- 32:28Speaker 4: inherit some really nice offensive players, but needs a quarterback.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Running back Jade and Ball went for almost twelve hundred
- 32:34Speaker 4: yards a year ago at receivers Vernell Brown and Dallas Wilson.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Er Special Boss says he already had a relationship with
- 32:41Speaker 4: new offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner from Georgia Tech.
- 32:44Speaker 7: No coach Buster, he came in.
- 32:47Speaker 15: No, he was recruiting me out of high school when
- 32:50Speaker 15: he was at Georgia Tech, and we had a.
- 32:51Speaker 7: Real, real good relationship.
- 32:53Speaker 15: He was talking to me day in day out, and
- 32:55Speaker 15: he was just telling me how he could use me
- 32:56Speaker 15: in the offense, a quarterback, running back, anywhere on the field.
- 33:00Speaker 15: And I feel like that's definitely gonna get displayed this year.
- 33:04Speaker 4: On defense, Brad White comes from Kentucky as the new
- 33:07Speaker 4: DC leading tackler. Miles Graham likes the attacking style.
- 33:12Speaker 8: Yeah, absolutely, every time we step into a mean I'm
- 33:15Speaker 8: just happy to play for coach White. I love contact,
- 33:18Speaker 8: I love seeking contact, So it definitely is gonna be
- 33:21Speaker 8: a great defense for me. It's gonna be a good
- 33:23Speaker 8: fit for me, and I'm excited to play for him.
- 33:25Speaker 4: Florida has to go to Texas and has the annual
- 33:28Speaker 4: Georgia Game in Jacksonville, but they'll host Ole Miss and Oklahoma.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Somemmrell says, it helps to have a couple of legendary
- 33:36Speaker 4: coaches around to talk to.
- 33:38Speaker 14: You know, I've had the privilege of spending a lot
- 33:40Speaker 14: of time since getting to Gainesville with coach Spurger and
- 33:44Speaker 14: my wife, with his wife, Jerry. They've been unbelievable us
- 33:50Speaker 14: and so it's for me as a head coach to
- 33:53Speaker 14: walk the same walk he's walked. To have him as
- 33:56Speaker 14: a resource has been great. Urban Meyer has been awesome.
- 34:00Speaker 14: I've spent a ton of time with Urban since taking
- 34:03Speaker 14: the job and very grateful for his making himself available
- 34:08Speaker 14: as a resource to me.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Florida has talent. If some ra all can harness it,
- 34:12Speaker 4: this team could cause problems this year in the league. Monday,
- 34:16Speaker 4: we'll look at ole Miss. Our Southeast Conference preview is

- 36:15Speaker 19: that only see us be can deliver. We're proud to
- 36:18Speaker 19: support the Texas A and m Aggie's this season. Citizens
- 36:21Speaker 19: State Bank, local people, local decisions. Since nineteen twenty five,
- 36:25Speaker 19: remember fdi s.
- 36:28Speaker 6: All right, So that was the SEC preview for Florida
- 36:32Speaker 6: and on the notes of just college football in general.
- 36:36Speaker 6: The preseason AP Top twenty five does come out on Monday.
- 36:40Speaker 6: We already got the coaches poll, so I wanted to
- 36:43Speaker 6: dive in because Bret McMurphy, who was popular sports writer online.
- 36:51Speaker 6: May know who he is actually put out his ballot
- 36:53Speaker 6: a little early, which I have a little.
- 36:56Speaker 7: Gripe on here.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Okay, Now his number one is Oregon, his number two
- 37:01Speaker 1: is Ohio State.
- 37:01Speaker 6: Then you have Georgia Notre Dame. He has Texas Tech
- 37:06Speaker 6: at number five. I think that is disgustingly high. Like
- 37:12Speaker 6: that is way way, way, way, way way wait, way
- 37:14Speaker 6: too high.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Now, I refuse to believe that's a serious ranking.
- 37:18Speaker 7: So do I.
- 37:19Speaker 1: But I see, you know, actually I think he's a
- 37:22Speaker 1: big twelve guy, so maybe maybe he is.
- 37:24Speaker 6: But I said this to Louis out there when I
- 37:26Speaker 6: first read this before we actually came in here and
- 37:28Speaker 6: started the show, and he kind of defended this. He's like, well,
- 37:32Speaker 6: we have a really easy schedule, and I'm like, yes,
- 37:35Speaker 6: they do. That doesn't mean they're the fifth best team
- 37:37Speaker 6: in the country. I look at who is below Texas
- 37:40Speaker 6: Tech on this list. I would pick the six seven
- 37:45Speaker 6: bottom teams below seven teams below them on this ranking,
- 37:50Speaker 6: Like he has Texas at number six, Indiana at seven,
- 37:53Speaker 6: Miami at eight, Olemiss at nine, Washington at ten, A
- 37:56Speaker 6: and m at eleven, Oklahoma at twelve, I would pick
- 37:59Speaker 6: all of those teams over Text. I would rank all
- 38:01Speaker 6: those teams over Texas Tech.
- 38:03Speaker 1: So the thing about preseason rankings, I know, I really
- 38:08Speaker 1: don't know how you're supposed to go about them. It's
- 38:12Speaker 1: all just like hypothetical preseason because I feel like with
- 38:17Speaker 1: once the regular season starts, not everybody, but I think
- 38:21Speaker 1: most people do it by who deserves to be ranked higher,
- 38:25Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like based on wins and losses.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Most people not necessarily what who you think is the
- 38:33Speaker 1: better team all the time, you know what I mean. Like,
- 38:36Speaker 1: but in the preseason, is it are you trying to
- 38:39Speaker 1: predict order a finish or you just putting who you
- 38:43Speaker 1: think the best teams are. Because that's because if you're
- 38:45Speaker 1: putting who the best teams are, yeah they're not five,
- 38:48Speaker 1: But if you're predicting order of finish, then that could
- 38:51Speaker 1: be a little more realistic because they are going to five.
- 38:53Speaker 6: That's a horrible way to go about doing rankings because
- 38:56Speaker 6: that's not rankings.
- 38:56Speaker 1: That's like standings, Like I don't though, I mean, but
- 39:00Speaker 1: that is what rankings end up being at the end
- 39:04Speaker 1: of the season. So I don't know. That's why preseason
- 39:06Speaker 1: rankings are terrible and we should do away with them,
- 39:08Speaker 1: like that is what rankings end up at.
- 39:10Speaker 7: Yes, to a degree, But at that.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Point you also have so much input from the season.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Like you if there's an eleven and one SEC team.
- 39:19Speaker 6: Versus theoretically, let's say Texas Tech is twelve to zero
- 39:23Speaker 6: in the Big twelve, I mean you still put Heck,
- 39:25Speaker 6: I would still put maybe a two loss SEC team
- 39:28Speaker 6: over over them, sure, just because of how.
- 39:31Speaker 7: Easy their schedule is.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, So I view rankings college Football Playoff. I
- 39:37Speaker 1: view it as who is the more deserving team, not
- 39:40Speaker 1: who is the better team personally. That's how I look
- 39:43Speaker 1: at it. Like, if you are it, let's take like,
- 39:49Speaker 1: you know, Texas last year nine and three in the SEC.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Were they better than probably three or four playoff teams? Yeah?
- 39:59Speaker 1: Better team, yes? More deserving? No, because you came in fifth,
- 40:05Speaker 1: sixth place in your own conference. If you can't make
- 40:09Speaker 1: the top three or four teams in your own conference,
- 40:11Speaker 1: you do not deserve to be in the College Football Playoff.
- 40:14Speaker 1: You don't deserve to be ranked above teams that won
- 40:18Speaker 1: their conference.
- 40:18Speaker 6: That's just that is valid. That's just part of the
- 40:22Speaker 6: you moved to the SEC. You moved to the toughest
- 40:24Speaker 6: conference of college football. That's how it works.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Same with any Big Ten teams that you know went
- 40:31Speaker 1: nine to three, and you know, like USC last year.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I don't remember what their record was, but they were
- 40:37Speaker 1: definitely better than Twulane and James Madison. Absolutely better teams.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Not more deserving though. Yeah, I mean, then you know what,
- 40:46Speaker 1: and this.
- 40:46Speaker 6: Is something that we'll probably talk about a lot. I
- 40:48Speaker 6: agree on you throughout the season with.
- 40:50Speaker 7: What you just said.
- 40:50Speaker 6: So I guess my biggest problem is just how high
- 40:52Speaker 6: they are ranked because number five. I mean, they didn't
- 40:54Speaker 6: They've done nothing to earn that spot. They were horrible
- 40:59Speaker 6: against Oregon, they got shutouts.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 6: I don't know if it's fair to call Will hamm
- 41:03Speaker 6: At a downgrade from Baron Morton, but he's certainly not
- 41:05Speaker 6: an upgrade. I don't no way, Okay, I'm out to
- 41:08Speaker 6: that's I'm gonna have to disagree with that, Will Hammond.
- 41:11Speaker 1: The ceiling is way higher. Maybe the ceiling's way higher
- 41:15Speaker 1: he is, but he's coming off of an ACL injury. Like, yeah,
- 41:18Speaker 1: but he's a pocket passer. His his uh, I mean,
- 41:22Speaker 1: he can move a little bit, but that's that's not
- 41:24Speaker 1: the bulk of his game. That's not the type of
- 41:25Speaker 1: quarterback that he is.
- 41:27Speaker 11: USC went seven and two last year.
- 41:29Speaker 1: That's conference record. They're the one to the right. No,
- 41:33Speaker 1: it's a they went nine to four. They're overall records
- 41:35Speaker 1: nine and four. Yeah, that's the exact that's the exact
- 41:37Speaker 1: kind of team. I'm talking about Big ten and SEC
- 41:40Speaker 1: teams that nine to eight wins. They are better than
- 41:43Speaker 1: a lot of teams that are going to get in
- 41:45Speaker 1: the playoff. They just, you know, play in a conference
- 41:49Speaker 1: with teams that are the upper echelon of the sport.
- 41:52Speaker 1: So they don't deserve to be in the playoff if
- 41:55Speaker 1: they can't beat those teams in my opinion. Yeah, well
- 41:57Speaker 1: we'll see that the expanded playoffs change all of this anyway.
- 42:01Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll see the full poll on Monday, And I
- 42:02Speaker 6: would go out on a limb to say that Texas
- 42:05Speaker 6: Tech will be lower on the actual composite pole than
- 42:08Speaker 6: what it is one definitely rage bait.
- 42:12Speaker 1: You said we're going to see the official preseason on Monday.
- 42:14Speaker 7: The official al Yeah, comes out on Monday.
- 42:17Speaker 1: That seems kind of early.
- 42:18Speaker 7: That's typically how it is for college football.
- 42:20Speaker 1: They they'll drop in a couple of weeks before the
- 42:22Speaker 1: season actually starts. I guess I just keep forgetting that
- 42:24Speaker 1: we're only a couple of weeks from the season starting.
- 42:27Speaker 7: This week zero is like, what two weeks away?
- 42:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, I had three weeks away. It's August.
- 42:36Speaker 6: Ninth, two saturdays away from this Saturday, So yeah, it
- 42:40Speaker 6: is knocking out.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Okay, never mind, that's not early. I just didn't realize
- 42:43Speaker 1: how well. I didn't realize how far into August were
- 42:46Speaker 1: I am flying by. We were already two weeks into August. Somehow,
- 42:50Speaker 1: I feel like it just it's crazy. Well, yeah, twenty
- 42:53Speaker 1: twenty six is the big twenty six is flying by. Yeah,
- 42:57Speaker 1: we're going to take another break.
- 42:59Speaker 6: We will go into the Astros Report, and then on
- 43:01Speaker 6: the other side of that we will have our entertainment

- 44:32Speaker 9: Cam Smith played a huge part in Houston's hitting.
- 44:35Speaker 17: Oh two pitches driven a left field back on a

- 45:06Speaker 9: With your Houston Astros Report, I'm Adam Ce the.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Louis Belina Show presented by CC Electric.
- 45:12Speaker 13: If you ask the question, you'd better be ready for
- 45:15Speaker 13: the answer. And I think that's how he approaches everything
- 45:18Speaker 13: that he coaches. And I've used this with him. I
- 45:21Speaker 13: told him that this is what I admire about him.
- 45:23Speaker 13: He's honest without being personal. Here's the honest assessment. Why
- 45:28Speaker 13: am I not starting. Here's why not. I don't think
- 45:31Speaker 13: you're a starter. No, here's why you can start if
- 45:35Speaker 13: you work on these things. That's happened to some players
- 45:39Speaker 13: and they've asked him, why am I not getting more reps?
- 45:43Speaker 13: Do you want to hear what you want to hear
- 45:45Speaker 13: or do you want to hear the truth or at
- 45:47Speaker 13: least my truth? And here's how I'm backing it up,
- 45:51Speaker 13: not without going bigger picture, right, Louis. But that's where
- 45:54Speaker 13: relationships are with coaches and players. You're not doing it
- 45:57Speaker 13: because I told you so. That doesn't work any longer.
- 46:00Speaker 13: You can't just throw a scouting report down, say read
- 46:02Speaker 13: it and have it.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Hang out with Louis weekdays eleven to two on the
- 46:06Speaker 3: Zon eleven and fifty am and ninety three point seven
- 46:09Speaker 3: firm love.
- 46:21Speaker 5: Here's a burning thing.
- 46:26Speaker 1: And it makes a fiery ring, a classic Johnny Cash,
- 46:32Speaker 1: the Man in Black. Yes, sir, my name is Ryan.
- 46:35Speaker 6: That is Caleb. It is Friday afternoon. We are filling
- 46:38Speaker 6: in for Chip Howard. Which good to see him back
- 46:41Speaker 6: around the office. He was gone for like the entire
- 46:43Speaker 6: month of July, and and a little more, yeah.
- 46:46Speaker 7: And a little more.
- 46:47Speaker 6: But he is he's been back and just as at
- 46:50Speaker 6: it as ever. So it is time for the entertainment
- 46:54Speaker 6: segment of the show, and there are some crazy, crazy
- 46:58Speaker 6: stories to discuss. This week, we have another eBay story.
- 47:02Speaker 6: This one is not quite as crazy as the first one,
- 47:06Speaker 6: at least not in terms of what eBay has done.
- 47:09Speaker 1: But eBay is getting sued again. This time they are be.
- 47:12Speaker 6: Ensued by a fifty four year old Spanish woman. She's
- 47:17Speaker 6: suing eBay for eleven thousand dollars in damages after the
- 47:21Speaker 6: platform shut down her solar real estate sales because they
- 47:26Speaker 6: would not accept when she tried to claim ownership of
- 47:28Speaker 6: the sun.
- 47:33Speaker 1: What is it with eBay and getting sued right now?
- 47:35Speaker 3: So?
- 47:35Speaker 6: The woman is named Maria Duran and she had been
- 47:38Speaker 6: selling individual sunlots for roughly one dollar each, completing around
- 47:43Speaker 6: six hundred transactions before eBay intervened citing concerns about buyer fraud.
- 47:49Speaker 6: She bases her ownership claim on a loophole in the
- 47:52Speaker 6: UN Outer Space Treaty, which bars nations but not individuals,
- 47:57Speaker 6: from claiming celestial bodies. He was inspired by an American
- 48:02Speaker 6: man named Dennis Hope, who similarly claimed ownership of the
- 48:05Speaker 6: moon back In twenty ten, a Spanish court has allowed
- 48:10Speaker 6: her lawsuit to proceed, though it declined to rule on
- 48:13Speaker 6: whether her solar ownership claim is legally valid. She continues
- 48:17Speaker 6: to sell sun parcels through her personal websites.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Wow, respect the hustle.
- 48:23Speaker 6: Honestly, I want to know who who the six hundred
- 48:27Speaker 6: people were that were stupid enough to buy this.
- 48:30Speaker 1: You'd be surprised, That's what I want to know. I mean,
- 48:33Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised for the record, Yeah, you know
- 48:36Speaker 1: what mean?
- 48:37Speaker 7: Either this is another.
- 48:42Speaker 1: This is a Harry Potter related story.
- 48:43Speaker 6: Actually, we have a major undersea electricity project that has
- 48:47Speaker 6: been rerouted. It's a five hundred and eighty one million
- 48:52Speaker 6: dollar green Leak green Link interconnector one hundred and twenty
- 48:56Speaker 6: five mile cable linking the United Kingdom and Ireland. I
- 49:01Speaker 6: guess it's an electrical cable that had to quietly redraw
- 49:05Speaker 6: its path to protect the unofficial grave of Dobby, the
- 49:08Speaker 6: house Elf from Harry Potter. The shrine sits on Freshwater
- 49:14Speaker 6: West Beach in Wales, where the character was buried in
- 49:17Speaker 6: the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. The project manager,
- 49:22Speaker 6: Simon Ludlam, who initially dismissed concerns over a fictitious character,
- 49:27Speaker 6: said the company was flooded with calls after a BBC
- 49:31Speaker 6: segment highlighted the issue. We went quite close to some
- 49:35Speaker 6: real bronze age remains, but we avoided Dobby's grave. That
- 49:39Speaker 6: was the quote from the project manager.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 49:44Speaker 7: Yeah, that is a real story.
- 49:47Speaker 1: I don't even know how to respond to that. Look,
- 49:49Speaker 1: Harry Potter. I'm also I was never a Harry Potter kid,
- 49:52Speaker 1: so that's fair.
- 49:53Speaker 6: But I know, I know these Harry Potter fans are
- 49:56Speaker 6: very serious about their Harry Potter.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Yeah, in the words of one great Homer Simpson.
- 50:03Speaker 6: Nerd Business Insider has ranked their top twenty college towns
- 50:12Speaker 6: in America number one.
- 50:15Speaker 1: And obviously they didn't see the Barstool Sports bracket last year,
- 50:19Speaker 1: so they're wrong.
- 50:20Speaker 6: Yeah, number one and Arbor, Michigan for the University of Michigan.
- 50:26Speaker 6: I will skip through most of the list because College Station,
- 50:29Speaker 6: Texas came in at number eighteen out of twenty.
- 50:33Speaker 1: I'll take it on their list.
- 50:34Speaker 6: I mean, I guess I'll take it because we're talking eighteen.
- 50:39Speaker 6: I guess it's still real high if you're talking about
- 50:41Speaker 6: all the colleges in America, but eighteen out of twenty
- 50:43Speaker 6: kind of like if we're beside eyeing them just a
- 50:46Speaker 6: little bit, like, come on, you couldn't have done a
- 50:47Speaker 6: little bit.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Better than that. I love living in College Station personally.
- 50:50Speaker 1: It's a great town. But I understand why some people
- 50:53Speaker 1: don't like it. I do. I mean, if you're looking
- 50:55Speaker 1: for scenery, it's pretty basic, you know.
- 50:59Speaker 14: Fair.
- 51:01Speaker 1: But the nice thing about College Station is that you
- 51:03Speaker 1: don't have to drive very far to get to the
- 51:05Speaker 1: country if you want to just you don't have to
- 51:08Speaker 1: drive or the city for that matter, right, So in
- 51:11Speaker 1: my opinion, that's that's a big reason why I love
- 51:14Speaker 1: College Station is because it's very centrally located. Yes, Now,
- 51:18Speaker 1: if we're talking like scenery in a town, I can
- 51:22Speaker 1: totally understand why somebody would prefer, say Knoxville, Tennessee. Yeah,
- 51:28Speaker 1: the mountains. If you're into the beach, you know, we
- 51:33Speaker 1: don't have any of that. So I get it. They
- 51:35Speaker 1: have beaches in Knoxville. No, no, no, not.
- 51:39Speaker 7: Dude.
- 51:40Speaker 6: I'm just saying, you've been to that ain't the way
- 51:42Speaker 6: I drove through. I'm just saying, like that, that's my
- 51:46Speaker 6: mountain example. And then I couldn't think.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Of a beach example because I don't want to use
- 51:49Speaker 1: my brain that hard. But my point is, as far
- 51:52Speaker 1: as scenery goes and like things to do, college Station
- 51:56Speaker 1: is a little more basic. That's fine. But the nice
- 52:00Speaker 1: thing about it is that the whole most of the
- 52:03Speaker 1: town is centered around it being the home of Texas
- 52:06Speaker 1: A and M. So as far as like college town goes,
- 52:10Speaker 1: it's very like this is where Texas A and M
- 52:13Speaker 1: is and there's other stuff. There's a lot of other
- 52:16Speaker 1: cool stuff. Yeah, but it's very focused on that, which
- 52:19Speaker 1: I think is kind of part of the charm of
- 52:21Speaker 1: it in my opinion.
- 52:21Speaker 6: Oh yeah, No, I completely agree with where you're coming
- 52:24Speaker 6: from on that. If you do want a good beach
- 52:26Speaker 6: one Tallahassee, Florida's at number five. That's pretty darn close
- 52:29Speaker 6: to a beach. Berkeley, California. I don't know where Berkeley,
- 52:33Speaker 6: California is. I don't know if that's more central California, if.
- 52:35Speaker 1: That's uh in it northern or do I make that up?
- 52:38Speaker 7: Is it?
- 52:39Speaker 6: Hold on, let me look it up because I got
- 52:40Speaker 6: my laptop right front. Oh no, Burt, you want to
- 52:42Speaker 6: talk about beach town. I mean it's the Pacific Ocean,
- 52:44Speaker 6: so you gotta be freezing your butt off. But I
- 52:47Speaker 6: mean it's right there by San Francisco.
- 52:49Speaker 7: Okay, So if you if.
- 52:52Speaker 1: You don't mind getting your feet very, very cold, that's
- 52:54Speaker 1: a good beach town for you as well, like maybe
- 52:57Speaker 1: like coastal Carolina, Conway.
- 52:58Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, that's.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Fair as well, Myrtle Beach.
- 53:01Speaker 6: Moving on to some food related stories, and I was
- 53:05Speaker 6: already hungry. KFC and Oreo apparently have a collaboration over
- 53:09Speaker 6: in China to create the fried chicken cookie.
- 53:12Speaker 1: What. Yeah, it's a real thing. Can we get that
- 53:16Speaker 1: on taste test Tuesday?
- 53:17Speaker 6: Well, it's only available in China right now, so I
- 53:20Speaker 6: don't know if they have any plans to bring it
- 53:22Speaker 6: over here. But the cookie has typical Oreo chocolate wafers,
- 53:24Speaker 6: but it isn't fried directly. Instead, the cream inside is
- 53:28Speaker 6: eleven herbs and spices flavored. There's no actual chicken in
- 53:31Speaker 6: herbs whatever, Dude, don't get on me about pronunciation.
- 53:34Speaker 1: By almost the weekend, I'm ready to go lay on
- 53:36Speaker 1: a couch somewhere. That's fair.
- 53:38Speaker 6: So that's happening over in China, But I'm glad you
- 53:40Speaker 6: brought up taste test Tuesday, because this next one is
- 53:42Speaker 6: something that we will indeed be trying on taste test Tuesday.
- 53:45Speaker 6: I will make sure of that, and we only have
- 53:47Speaker 6: to wait ten more days. This is Chick fil A. Oh,
- 53:51Speaker 6: they have revealed their fall menu items. Oh boy, and
- 53:54Speaker 6: I am very very excited. I will start with the drinks.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Okay, white girls everywhere rejoice, they are girls everywhere, Rejoice.
- 54:02Speaker 6: Introduce a s'mores milkshake and a s'mores frosted coffee.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Okay. So I was so far out when you said
- 54:10Speaker 1: they were bringing in their fall menu items because I
- 54:14Speaker 1: just assumed it would be something Pumpkins calculated.
- 54:17Speaker 7: I'm back in baby. Wait, so you hear the food.
- 54:21Speaker 6: Yes, some'mores milkshakes, Moores frosted coffee. Though I'm pretty much
- 54:24Speaker 6: exactly what they sound like all the way in.
- 54:26Speaker 7: Here is what I am most excited for.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Uh, We're getting chicken and waffles. Oh.
- 54:32Speaker 6: The chicken and waffle sandwich will be available as both
- 54:35Speaker 6: a breakfast and entree option. It will feature the signature
- 54:39Speaker 6: Chick fil A file between two maple flavored waffles complimented
- 54:45Speaker 6: with three strips of applewood smoked bacon.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Or did you say the file A not like that
- 54:50Speaker 1: the strips, No, not the strips.
- 54:52Speaker 6: I mean maybe you could custom order it that way,
- 54:54Speaker 6: but as it is, it's two maple flavored waffles complimented
- 54:59Speaker 6: with three strips if apple wood smoked bacon and honey
- 55:02Speaker 6: butter spread served with a side but warm classic syrup.
- 55:08Speaker 1: That's a lot going on.
- 55:09Speaker 6: It sounds delicious, it does. It sounds like a million calories.
- 55:13Speaker 1: We'll be trying.
- 55:13Speaker 7: I don't care.
- 55:14Speaker 6: And it's for the date August twenty fourth, so that's
- 55:17Speaker 6: a week from Monday.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Is when it's going to hit the stores. I told
- 55:20Speaker 1: Ted it's still going to be a thousand degrees. I'm
- 55:23Speaker 1: going to eat it.
- 55:23Speaker 6: We'll be bringing those in the day that they come out,
- 55:26Speaker 6: and we will be doing that for taste test.
- 55:28Speaker 1: It comes out on Monday, and get in on that
- 55:29Speaker 1: action change.
- 55:31Speaker 6: Honestly, fine, if you are here when we do this,
- 55:34Speaker 6: I will get a third one and I will have
- 55:37Speaker 6: you come in and we will all three do it.
- 55:38Speaker 1: I remember one time I was supposed to and then
- 55:41Speaker 1: I forgot about it and I was never asked again.
- 55:43Speaker 7: Here's the kick, I said.
- 55:44Speaker 6: It's available as a breakfast option, but you'll you'll be
- 55:47Speaker 6: able to get it all day. They will have it
- 55:48Speaker 6: for munch as well, so it will not be strict
- 55:50Speaker 6: this is it just breakfast.
- 55:51Speaker 1: That's big because Chick fil A is one of the few,
- 55:55Speaker 1: maybe not few, but one of the fast food restaurants
- 55:57Speaker 1: that doesn't have all day breakfast. Yeah, and it and
- 56:00Speaker 1: they into like ten thirty, so yes, it feels a
- 56:02Speaker 1: little early.
- 56:02Speaker 6: And you can get it the fil a either original, spicy,
- 56:06Speaker 6: or grilled. So I am very, very very excited for
- 56:10Speaker 6: this because you know, you see how often I show
- 56:13Speaker 6: up here with Chick fil A in the morning.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that is like my go to breakfast option.
- 56:17Speaker 6: I I mean, I think I hit their top level
- 56:19Speaker 6: of rewards like on the app, like in twenty twenty four,
- 56:22Speaker 6: and I've just looked back, like I give them so much.
- 56:25Speaker 6: I give them so much of my money. I think
- 56:26Speaker 6: the workers know me by name by now at this point,
- 56:29Speaker 6: which one do you go to? Joe's Crossing That's the
- 56:31Speaker 6: one that's right where I live.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that's the if I'm if I'm getting Chick
- 56:35Speaker 1: fil A on the way to work, it's always that one.
- 56:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 56:37Speaker 6: Anyways, we're going to take another quick break here. We
- 56:39Speaker 6: will close out the hour. Preview what's ahead for the
- 56:42Speaker 6: five o'clock hour here on the zone eleven fifty
