- 0:09Speaker 1: All right, not much happening in the way of trailers
- 0:12Speaker 1: right now, although James Gunn has promised me that sometime
- 0:15Speaker 1: today he'll be dropping a new green Lantern trailer. Did
- 0:19Speaker 1: he text you personally? Sure, as far as far as
- 0:23Speaker 1: you know, yeah, yeah, So I'll be watching for that
- 0:26Speaker 1: to drop at any moment when that will happen. In
- 0:30Speaker 1: the meantime, I enjoy this trailer for season three of
- 0:35Speaker 1: My Adventures with Superman, which, you know, if you're watching
- 0:39Speaker 1: the Boys and it's, you know, depressing you and you
- 0:42Speaker 1: want something optimistic, this is certainly the way to go
- 0:47Speaker 1: in Metropolis. Challenges come in all shapes and sizes, so
- 0:55Speaker 1: you're bringing you suffer. But can Superman keep up when
- 0:59Speaker 1: the other guy is just as super as he is,
- 1:02Speaker 1: faster than you, longer than you. That's a cyborg Superman.
- 1:08Speaker 1: She may need a little help. Are you okay? Being Superman?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Is it's harder than than it used to be? It's
- 1:16Speaker 1: much It's much harder. That's a good thing. Clark's got
- 1:19Speaker 1: such helpful friends. Is this no? What do you guys do?
- 1:23Speaker 1: What's your favorite movie? Why do you wear glasses? Jimmy?
- 1:28Speaker 1: If it's not a present, it really has to way
- 1:34Speaker 1: my adventures was Superman. The third season premiere Saturday, June
- 1:37Speaker 1: thirteenth at midnight, haunts you on me next day. That's animated.
- 1:42Speaker 1: That's animated. Yes, very optimistic, you know, hopeful, whole thing.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So if you're wholesome, it's wholesome. I would go as
- 1:52Speaker 1: far as to say it's wholes nice. We need more
- 1:55Speaker 1: so that I don't want to have anything to do
- 1:57Speaker 1: with this June thirteenth, that's wholesome when that premierees. Now,
- 2:01Speaker 1: Sean Means asked me this when he was here on Friday,
- 2:04Speaker 1: and I thought about it, and I thought I'd do
- 2:06Speaker 1: some research. He said, what do I What episodes do
- 2:09Speaker 1: I need to watch of The Mandalorian before the movie?
- 2:14Speaker 1: And I couldn't come up with any episodes. I still can't,
- 2:19Speaker 1: but I do have a sort of a synopsis of
- 2:21Speaker 1: what you need to know going in. Ok So, the
- 2:24Speaker 1: most significant development from the beginning of The Mandalorian to
- 2:28Speaker 1: the start of the movie is the relationship between the
- 2:31Speaker 1: Mandalorian himself, din Jaron, Pedro, Pascal, and Grogu. Grogu was
- 2:37Speaker 1: initially a target for a bounty hunter, but over the
- 2:40Speaker 1: course of three seasons, the pair grew close. At the
- 2:42Speaker 1: very end of season three, Mando officially adopted Grogu as
- 2:46Speaker 1: his son. When The Mandalorian started, he was a work
- 2:51Speaker 1: for hire, bounty hunter, good bad, whatever. If you just
- 2:53Speaker 1: paid him, he'd work for you. However, by the end
- 2:55Speaker 1: of season three, things have changed for Mando. He's got
- 2:58Speaker 1: his son, He's seen some crazy stuff, and now he
- 3:01Speaker 1: doesn't want to work for just anyone. Okay, so there's that.
- 3:06Speaker 1: He wants to work for the good guys. Also, you
- 3:09Speaker 1: need to remember, of course, Jab of the Hut was
- 3:12Speaker 1: killed by Princess Leah. We don't call that slave lea
- 3:17Speaker 1: outfit anymore. That's hut killer Lea. Right. But he had
- 3:24Speaker 1: twins at the time. You didn't know that because you
- 3:27Speaker 1: didn't watch the cartoon. He had infant twins, little little
- 3:32Speaker 1: little slug huts. But yeah, so one of his twins
- 3:40Speaker 1: uh interested in acquiring you know, all that all that stuff.
- 3:46Speaker 1: He will be in this show, one of one of
- 3:48Speaker 1: one of the twins, all right. The Empire is fractured,
- 3:52Speaker 1: but not dead. Mandalorian and Grogus set between the events
- 3:57Speaker 1: a Return of the Jedi and the Force Awakened. So
- 3:59Speaker 1: the Empire has been defeated but not completely gone, and
- 4:03Speaker 1: eventually the First Order will rise, but before that, a
- 4:06Speaker 1: new Republic has been born to try to bring stability
- 4:08Speaker 1: to the galaxy, and that's where the Mandalorian comes in. Also,
- 4:13Speaker 1: Grogu is a Mandalorian apprentice. It's unclear of how much
- 4:18Speaker 1: or if this will come up in the movie, but
- 4:20Speaker 1: there is one thing to remember about Grogu though he
- 4:23Speaker 1: is the same species as Yoda, very strong with the Force.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Grogu made a decision not to train with Luke Skywalker
- 4:28Speaker 1: as a Jedi. That was that was in the Mandalorian Luke,
- 4:32Speaker 1: a deaged Mark Hamill, came back and played him and
- 4:36Speaker 1: offered to train him, but he said, no, I'm staying
- 4:39Speaker 1: with with Mando. This is my guy. He can't train
- 4:44Speaker 1: him in the Force. Well, no, he's not interested in
- 4:47Speaker 1: he's just not interested. And he was then given the
- 4:51Speaker 1: name didn't Grogu din Jarren. So he's a part of
- 4:55Speaker 1: the family. Ah, let's see, Mandalorian ship was destroyed in
- 5:00Speaker 1: the series. He's going to get a new one that
- 5:03Speaker 1: looks just like it. Don't have to go back and watch. No,
- 5:07Speaker 1: you don't, you don't. That's really all you need to
- 5:09Speaker 1: know about going in to see the movie. Let's see.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Now here's another. Now they've been kicking this project around
- 5:16Speaker 1: for a while and it's Sam Raimi has been he's
- 5:22Speaker 1: got the rights to this to remaking. Do you remember
- 5:25Speaker 1: the movie. It's from seventy eight Ventriloquis dummy horror movie.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I don't remember which one. Anthony Hopkins and Margaret Yeah, yeah, Magic, Yeah, Magic. Well,
- 5:38Speaker 1: he's had the rights to it and he's been you know,
- 5:40Speaker 1: he's got the script and everything together and he's pretty
- 5:42Speaker 1: happy with it, and he's been looking for a director
- 5:44Speaker 1: to do it. He's just decided to do it himself.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Oh really, So if it's Sam Raimy, it's going to
- 5:49Speaker 1: be good. And plus you've got the people behind it,
- 5:53Speaker 1: Mark Swift and Damien Shannon who wrote Send Help for Ramie.
- 5:57Speaker 1: So that's now. Magic starred Hopkins as Quirky, a magician
- 6:04Speaker 1: who reaches fame alongside his Ventrilocus dummy, the obnoxious, wisecracking Fats.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Faced with the prospect of signing a network deal for
- 6:12Speaker 1: his own show, but afraid of revealing his fragile mental state,
- 6:15Speaker 1: the magician takes off for the Catskills, where he tries
- 6:18Speaker 1: to reconnect with the high school love, even as Fats
- 6:22Speaker 1: begins to murderously take control of the situation. I remember
- 6:26Speaker 1: when we were kids and this trailer would come on.
- 6:29Speaker 1: It was creepy as hell. Abrika Gabra, I sit on
- 6:33Speaker 1: his knee, Presto change on and now he is me pocus,
- 6:40Speaker 1: we take the bed, We're dead. Josephine Levine presents Magic,
- 6:49Speaker 1: a terrifying love story starring Anthony Hopkins and Margaret and
- 6:52Speaker 1: Burgess Meredith. It was directed by Richard Attenborough. Yeah, you know, hi, Ron,
- 7:01Speaker 1: what's fascinating. I just heard an interview with Anne Margaret.
- 7:05Speaker 1: She's really She's still alive, and I couldn't listen to that.
- 7:10Speaker 1: It was it was kind of sad. She I don't
- 7:12Speaker 1: know why he dragged her out for this. She can
- 7:16Speaker 1: barely make a sentence. Where did I hear ow? Jesse Thorn?
- 7:21Speaker 1: I tried, I thought, I thought the same thing. Oh
- 7:23Speaker 1: Anne Margaret. I'm like, oh oh Anne Margaret, Oh oh honey.
- 7:28Speaker 1: She sounds like that now. And finally this Warner Brothers
- 7:32Speaker 1: pam abdy mm hmm. You know, suddenly they've changed their
- 7:37Speaker 1: minds about this whole Looney Tunes thing. Now they're all in. Yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 1: now they're all in. I think they saw what, you know,
- 7:44Speaker 1: the the the demand to see the coyote versus acme eve,
- 7:48Speaker 1: it's just all the old and they've she got up
- 7:53Speaker 1: and said, no, we're all in about getting Looney Tunes
- 7:56Speaker 1: back on the big screen. We've we've got a lot
- 7:59Speaker 1: of animated things that we're working on, but we certainly
- 8:02Speaker 1: want to do that. We've got Daffy Season, which is
- 8:05Speaker 1: a Looney Tunes theatrical short, bring it back to the
- 8:08Speaker 1: big screen. And there is a Speedy Gonzales movie in
- 8:12Speaker 1: the works. Yes, what about slow Polk Rodrigue. I hope
- 8:15Speaker 1: he's there. He's the slowest mouse in all of it.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But yeah, they've changed their minds quite a few things.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Tom and Jerry stuff, you know, suddenly suddenly they're all in. Well, okay,
- 8:32Speaker 1: all right,
