- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Amharic with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 85! We've learned so much together. Lucas: Today, we're going to learn about rooms and furniture in the home. Very useful for everyday conversation. Luna: Oh, I love this. I'm always trying to describe my apartment to friends. Lucas: Right. And if Fexingo has been helping you make progress with Amharic, consider supporting us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. A couple of dollars a month genuinely keeps these episodes coming. Luna: Yeah, it really does. Okay, let's learn some words. What's first? Lucas: First up: ኩሽና. That means kitchen. Luna: ኩሽና. Kitchen. I spend a lot of time in my ኩሽና. Lucas: Exactly. Next, ሳሎን. That's the living room. Luna: ሳሎን. Living room. Where we relax. Lucas: Good. And then መኝታ ቤት. Bedroom. Luna: መኝታ ቤት. That's a long one. Lucas: You got it. Let's hear them again: ኩሽና, ሳሎን, መኝታ ቤት. Luna: ኩሽና, ሳሎን, መኝታ ቤት. Lucas: Now furniture. አልጋ means bed. Luna: አልጋ. Bed. So in the መኝታ ቤት, there's an አልጋ. Lucas: Perfect. And ጠረጴዛ means table. Luna: ጠረጴዛ. Table. We eat at the ጠረጴዛ. Lucas: Right. So let's do a little scene. Imagine you're showing someone your home. There's a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom. That's a whole sentence! Lucas: And then you can say: አልጋ አለ, ጠረጴዛ አለ. There's a bed, there's a table. I love that. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. What is kitchen? Luna: ኩሽና. Lucas: Living room? Luna: ሳሎን. Lucas: Bedroom? Luna: መኝታ ቤት. Lucas: Bed? Luna: አልጋ. Lucas: Table? Luna: ጠረጴዛ. Lucas: Excellent. You're doing great. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. Now I can describe my apartment. My ሳሎን has a ጠረጴዛ, and my መኝታ ቤት has an አልጋ. Lucas: That's perfect. And my kitchen is tiny. We haven't learned 'tiny' yet. Lucas: True. That's for another episode. But you can say ኩሽና አለ for now. Luna: Right. I'll stick with what I know. Lucas: Great attitude. Practice these words around the house. Next time, we'll build on this. Luna: Can't wait. Thanks for learning with us. See you next time! Lucas: Keep practicing and we'll talk again soon. Bye!
