- 0:07Speaker 1: Everybody is asking what is setting the markets on fire. Well,
- 0:10Speaker 1: there may be an answer to that, and it may
- 0:12Speaker 1: be going through Beijing and China. We'll take a look
- 0:15Speaker 1: at this. My name is Paul Baron. Welcome back in
- 0:16Speaker 1: the tech path. I do want to thank our sponsor
- 0:19Speaker 1: today and that is Tangum. This is a great place
- 0:20Speaker 1: for you guys to start your self custody journey. And
- 0:23Speaker 1: if you've never done self custody before, don't worry. It's
- 0:26Speaker 1: very simple to do with a Tangum wallet. Let's get
- 0:29Speaker 1: into it today. I want to really kind of start
- 0:32Speaker 1: off with this statement right here. This was a couple
- 0:34Speaker 1: of weeks ago, and the point was is that what
- 0:38Speaker 1: we're looking at right now is really a trade war
- 0:41Speaker 1: that is starting to brew, and it's mostly between the
- 0:45Speaker 1: Chinese and the Americans on this point, and you got
- 0:48Speaker 1: to watch out for this. China is now quietly priming
- 0:50Speaker 1: a one point four trillion dollar bitcoin price boom. And
- 0:54Speaker 1: there's many people that say, well, wait a minute, Paul,
- 0:56Speaker 1: bitcoin is dead in China. Not necessarily, if you guys
- 0:59Speaker 1: go by, I can look at the history of China
- 1:02Speaker 1: with cryptocurrency in general. Remember the last time we saw
- 1:06Speaker 1: a major move from them. Well that was in November
- 1:10Speaker 1: of twenty twenty one, and that was when China banned crypto.
- 1:15Speaker 1: And what happened in November of twenty one, that was
- 1:17Speaker 1: the end of the last bull market. Now when you
- 1:20Speaker 1: look at that and you consider maybe there's some moves
- 1:23Speaker 1: that are starting to happen right now. Well, the latest
- 1:25Speaker 1: Hong Kong funds out there are now launching a tokenized
- 1:28Speaker 1: money market fund on ethereum. And now what we're seeing
- 1:32Speaker 1: is China is taking note of this. Now there are
- 1:34Speaker 1: a couple of other things that are happening within China
- 1:37Speaker 1: that are related to automobiles and also technology that could
- 1:41Speaker 1: have a major impact on crypto in general. I want
- 1:44Speaker 1: to go to a clip real quick because this is
- 1:48Speaker 1: going to get into the hashtag CEO and him explaining
- 1:50Speaker 1: why crypto could be getting ready to boom because of China.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Is the sort of forward pushed by Hong Kong at
- 1:57Speaker 3: the moment a sign that treading and crypto could return
- 2:02Speaker 3: to the mainland, which of course would be a huge
- 2:04Speaker 3: boots for the market.
- 2:05Speaker 4: I think there is the possibility the mainland China government,
- 2:09Speaker 4: where we consider their stents towards the crypto and web
- 2:12Speaker 4: tree industry, that's inevitable from what I know so far,
- 2:16Speaker 4: so far our conversations with the mainline professionals and related
- 2:22Speaker 4: related sources, I think they are now looking at the
- 2:27Speaker 4: market and see what's going on in other countries, what's
- 2:32Speaker 4: happening in web tree industries, and then they may come
- 2:36Speaker 4: up with their response towards this industry.
- 2:39Speaker 1: How much U price makers are Chinese investors in crypto?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Do you have any sort of sense?
- 2:44Speaker 4: Ye, Crypto sima's other high tech industry is one of
- 2:48Speaker 4: their major area of interest. When they consider their asset allocation,
- 2:54Speaker 4: they would allocate a seificant, significant percentage of their assets
- 2:59Speaker 4: into this emerging acid class.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Okay, all right, let's as picking up for I guess
- 3:05Speaker 1: all right, So a couple of points that they're hitting
- 3:07Speaker 1: on there with the hashtag CEO, he thinks that they're
- 3:09Speaker 1: gonna fit pivot. I think that he might be right because,
- 3:12Speaker 1: but not necessarily because of crypto in general. It's because
- 3:15Speaker 1: of the tech related and automotive related sectors that could
- 3:19Speaker 1: bring this all in to make sense, especially on blockchain.
- 3:22Speaker 1: If you go back about a month ago, G was
- 3:25Speaker 1: meeting with a lot of the rivals in China that
- 3:29Speaker 1: rivaled US tech. So Apple versus Huawei, Tasla versus BYD.
- 3:34Speaker 1: We will talk about BYD in a second, and then
- 3:36Speaker 1: open AI versus Deepseek. We all know what that what
- 3:39Speaker 1: happened there. So the likelihood is that China's looking at Hey,
- 3:42Speaker 1: wait a minute, we need to start to integrate a
- 3:45Speaker 1: little bit more on the side of blockchain, and a
- 3:47Speaker 1: lot of this is going to go into areas around automotive.
- 3:51Speaker 1: So let's go into this topic right here. And this
- 3:53Speaker 1: is a reference to BYD and their auto sales. And
- 3:56Speaker 1: this is remember this is during the crypto band and
- 3:59Speaker 1: they did a one hundred car test and I guess
- 4:02Speaker 1: this was a viral moment for BYD.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Nobody get in trouble for this.
- 4:06Speaker 1: So China allowed this to happen with one of their
- 4:09Speaker 1: major companies that are within the organization. When you look
- 4:12Speaker 1: at BID that like I said, they're the Tasla of China,
- 4:16Speaker 1: and I think the fact that they allowed this to
- 4:17Speaker 1: occur might be giving us an indicator going forward. So
- 4:21Speaker 1: let me jump over to BYD and their sales trajectory.
- 4:24Speaker 1: If you look at this the blue line, and if
- 4:26Speaker 1: you look at this compared to Tasla Taesla.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Our blue line is Tesla byd white line.
- 4:31Speaker 1: And if you look at this in comparison, this has
- 4:33Speaker 1: really already been in place. Now their earnings just came in,
- 4:37Speaker 1: the likelihood of us seeing another explosion on the next
- 4:40Speaker 1: startings could really start to show a trend line that
- 4:43Speaker 1: would not be favorable to Tesla.
- 4:45Speaker 2: All right, so I've got a clip here that'll give
- 4:47Speaker 2: us a little bit of.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Idea of whether or not this is begun in terms
- 4:51Speaker 1: of a new bull run. Could we see both maybe
- 4:55Speaker 1: Western money and also a Chinese resurgence, especially in.
- 4:59Speaker 2: The crypto that could flow into this.
- 5:01Speaker 5: Take a look, are we seeing a change in perception
- 5:05Speaker 5: that China is now investable because we just did see
- 5:08Speaker 5: a run up because of all these tech leaders who
- 5:10Speaker 5: met with she are there. Now we more Westerns who
- 5:13Speaker 5: are like, hey, I should I should put five percent
- 5:15Speaker 5: of my capital in that market.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Any thoughts on when that will happen.
- 5:19Speaker 6: Yeah, it hasn't happened. That's like, that doesn't really satisfy me.
- 5:22Speaker 6: It's kind of just a blip. We're talking about like
- 5:26Speaker 6: your friends who just invest on the side when they start,
- 5:30Speaker 6: you know, they have twenty percent of their portfolio.
- 5:33Speaker 2: In Chinese companies.
- 5:34Speaker 6: That's what we need to get towards. There are also
- 5:37Speaker 6: Chinese who are also still wondering is China investible? And
- 5:41Speaker 6: that's something that really shocks me. People really are following
- 5:46Speaker 6: what's going on, and they are realizing that people in
- 5:49Speaker 6: the West are using you know, four of the five
- 5:52Speaker 6: top downloaded apps in the US are Chinese. Like, that's
- 5:54Speaker 6: pretty self validating for them.
- 5:58Speaker 2: All right.
- 5:58Speaker 1: So that was Taylorrogan. He's talked about the Chinese markets
- 6:01Speaker 1: for quite some time. He now has company there, so
- 6:03Speaker 1: he's really tied into this and he may be right
- 6:06Speaker 1: in the sense that we do or could see a
- 6:10Speaker 1: large percentage of a lot of these portfolios start to
- 6:12Speaker 1: shift to Chinese companies. But let's go over back to
- 6:15Speaker 1: where China could really see the benefit of crypto. Well,
- 6:18Speaker 1: if you go all the way back and this is
- 6:20Speaker 1: on v Chain's YouTube channel, and this thing is six
- 6:23Speaker 1: years old, and you'll notice right here, I'll kind of
- 6:26Speaker 1: zoom in on that this was byd and the ability
- 6:31Speaker 1: to earn carbon credits utilizing blockchain, and this is one
- 6:35Speaker 1: of the reasons that we could start to see this
- 6:37Speaker 1: again because of the tie in with this. If you
- 6:39Speaker 1: look at all the different areas BID and V chain.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Now they're collaborating on blockchain based battery trace ability, so
- 6:45Speaker 1: you've got that going on. The likelihood is that we
- 6:48Speaker 1: could see some pressure here. Now China says, hey, wait
- 6:50Speaker 1: a minute, there's some use case here for blockchain, and
- 6:53Speaker 1: if we're going to open.
- 6:53Speaker 2: That up, let's open up investing.
- 6:55Speaker 1: One other point I want to make right here is
- 6:57Speaker 1: remember that the Chinese have been looking at carbon credits
- 7:01Speaker 1: for quite some time. They weren't necessarily sure how they
- 7:04Speaker 1: were going to see a revenue opportunity, but Tesla revealed that.
- 7:08Speaker 1: And Tesla has been hitting a record high sales from
- 7:11Speaker 1: carbon credits. At one point sent almost two billion dollars
- 7:14Speaker 1: in terms of carbon credits. And if you look at
- 7:16Speaker 1: China in general, they revived its carbon credit market, so
- 7:20Speaker 1: we're going to see price swings in this. All of
- 7:22Speaker 1: this is starting to play into the potential of this
- 7:26Speaker 1: moving in. And remember V chain tied to this. This
- 7:28Speaker 1: could be a factor going forward in how China addresses crypto.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Here's a clip. Take a look.
- 7:34Speaker 7: We did the case with BYD for the carbon credits.
- 7:37Speaker 7: We did the calculation if you drive two thousand miles
- 7:41Speaker 7: a year, you probably saved fifty dollars and people may
- 7:45Speaker 7: not even care about it. Nobody willing to pay somebody
- 7:49Speaker 7: for fifty dollars just by driving two thousand hours. EV
- 7:52Speaker 7: sink from the different angle testa how much value for
- 7:56Speaker 7: those ten million cars five hundred million dollars already? It's
- 8:00Speaker 7: really a massive value, but only reviewed, only could be
- 8:04Speaker 7: discovered because it's already there, just nobody are able to
- 8:07Speaker 7: discover that.
- 8:08Speaker 8: Our one of the critic good job for us is
- 8:11Speaker 8: to find and discover the collective value coming from the
- 8:16Speaker 8: fractional efforts of the normal people.
- 8:19Speaker 2: And there's a reason that there's an interest level.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Look at this twelve point nine million EV sales, which
- 8:25Speaker 1: is a seventeen percent rise from twenty twenty four. This
- 8:28Speaker 1: is what's estimated for twenty twenty five. That's not the
- 8:31Speaker 1: total number of cars, that's just the sales for twenty
- 8:34Speaker 1: twenty five. They're estimated twelve point nine million. That, in
- 8:37Speaker 1: conjunction with what we already see in China, which has
- 8:40Speaker 1: been one of the hottest EV markets out there, could
- 8:42Speaker 1: be a gateway into blockchain, especially some of these projects
- 8:46Speaker 1: that are leading into carbon credits.
- 8:48Speaker 2: If you look at that of where we are right.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Now only a five hundred and twenty six billion, look
- 8:52Speaker 1: at the expansion on this all the way up to
- 8:55Speaker 1: twenty twenty nine, just five years away. Trillions is what
- 8:58Speaker 1: we're talking about. So this could be a big factor.
- 9:00Speaker 1: And again it's one of the things we're watching. One
- 9:03Speaker 1: thing to look at in terms of financials. There could
- 9:05Speaker 1: be a two edged sword here. One is dividends for
- 9:09Speaker 1: the shareholders. The other opportunities for the drivers. If they
- 9:12Speaker 1: do a deal with v chain or other blockchain companies
- 9:15Speaker 1: out there that could pay for those carbon credits, you
- 9:18Speaker 1: could see a you know, kind of a perfect cycle
- 9:21Speaker 1: of revenue opportunities coming out of just byd Now, remember
- 9:25Speaker 1: there's a lot of ev makers in China, Bid being
- 9:27Speaker 1: the one that is the leader.
- 9:29Speaker 2: All right, let's go with Peter Schiff.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Now, obviously his contrarian viewpoint is that China isn't holding
- 9:35Speaker 1: bitcoin any longer.
- 9:36Speaker 2: They sold it, right, So Lom is just.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Saying, hey, we should you know, China should buy bitcoin.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Now you could look at China and say, all right,
- 9:42Speaker 1: well they just don't have faith in bitcoin.
- 9:44Speaker 2: They sold it all. It's done.
- 9:46Speaker 1: But if they unbanded crypto, and remember they're trying to
- 9:50Speaker 1: keep up with the Joneses. They're already doing this in
- 9:52Speaker 1: AI E V's and what we're going.
- 9:54Speaker 2: To see in the tech side.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Why would they not come along for the ride on
- 9:58Speaker 1: crypto because the likelihood is the the rest of the
- 10:00Speaker 1: world is going to come with them. So I still
- 10:02Speaker 1: think China has a position here. I may be wrong,
- 10:06Speaker 1: but I think they have a position here that they're
- 10:07Speaker 1: going to play out, and it really will depend on
- 10:10Speaker 1: which one is stronger. Maybe maybe it's going to be
- 10:12Speaker 1: something like eth or other blockchains that we'll see excel
- 10:16Speaker 1: around utility or use case, even if we go to
- 10:19Speaker 1: the side of carbon credit.
- 10:21Speaker 2: So we'll see how this plays out.
