- 0:00Well, isn't it good to be in God's house this
- 0:04morning? We came in for prayer meeting and it
- 0:08took me a little longer to get here than I thought
- 0:09it would, so I kinda snuck in the back. And what
- 0:13I heard was an awesome thing, pastor. I heard
- 0:18men and women of God prayed in the Holy Spirit
- 0:20interceding for what's gonna happen today. See,
- 0:24every revival that was ever birthed, it was birthed
- 0:26out of the spirit of prayer. We need revival.
- 0:32We need revival. We need an awakening in our
- 0:35cities. And so when you walk through the door
- 0:37and you hear men and women of God praying in
- 0:40the Holy Spirit, I was so excited. And I told
- 0:44pastor, I'm excited to be in a Pentecostal church
- 0:47this morning. Because let me tell you, I go almost
- 0:50every Sunday to a different assembly of God church.
- 0:54But this morning I was excited to be in a Pentecostal
- 0:56church. And I pray that we get back to our roots.
- 1:02I pray we get back to our roots. So what you
- 1:04have here is special, I want you to know that.
- 1:07What you have here is special, where the gifts
- 1:09are in operation. Where, let me tell you, I grew
- 1:13up in a Pentecostal church. And it's the Pentecostal
- 1:17church is when I had my bad days, I could go
- 1:19and I could find God, and my bad days can be
- 1:22turned into good days. It's the Pentecostal church
- 1:24is when I invited this A friend of mine that
- 1:27I used to work with, his name was Lee. And we
- 1:31called him Greasy at work. That's just what he
- 1:33looked like. He was Greasy. And as you can tell,
- 1:36I'm from the South. We might say things a little
- 1:37different and maybe be a little, we're kind of
- 1:39nice but mean at the same time. Y 'all know what
- 1:44I'm talking about. We had a dude named Greasy.
- 1:48Greasy, do smoke three, four packs a day. He'd
- 1:51get off work and he'd get them that natural light
- 1:54and the quart bottles and the brown bag and sometimes
- 1:57he'd go with me fishing. Sometimes our church
- 1:59had a lake and he'd sneak them quarts of beer
- 2:02and his cigarettes into the boat and we'd be
- 2:04out there fishing and he'd start drinking beer
- 2:06at the Pentecostal church. I'm like, man, what
- 2:09are you doing? But you know what I did? I got
- 2:13there on that lake with him. That's around that
- 2:15Pentecostal church and I just told him, this
- 2:17ain't got good. You see this sunset. I called
- 2:20him Lee, I didn't call him Greasy all the time.
- 2:22But you see this sunset? God knew that me and
- 2:26you would be fishing out here today. And he knew
- 2:28we'd need to see this sunset. God knew me and
- 2:31you were fishing out here today. He knew you
- 2:32need to catch that largemouth bass. And oh, you're
- 2:35gonna keep it? We usually throw them back, okay.
- 2:37You're gonna keep the eight pound bass and fillet
- 2:39it. Well, that's good for you, all right? But
- 2:43I took Lee, he finally made it after years. I'm
- 2:46talking about years. He made it inside that Pentecostal
- 2:49church And he knelt down at an altar and he gave
- 2:53his heart to Jesus Now it took years pastor years
- 2:58of taking on fishing. I didn't get offended by
- 3:01his beer drinking I didn't get offended by a
- 3:03cigarette smoking But I just loved old him and
- 3:06told him who Jesus was And then one day at work.
- 3:09He just said I can't do it no more and he handed
- 3:12me those cigarettes He said I need to get rid
- 3:14of these See, God did something and it was through
- 3:16the power of a Pentecostal church. And so I'm
- 3:20so thankful this morning to be at a Pentecostal
- 3:23church. And if you're in here and maybe your
- 3:25first time to church, or you're new to this place,
- 3:27I'm telling you, you are in the right place.
- 3:29God, the Holy Spirit, drew you to this place,
- 3:31and you are where you are supposed to be. And
- 3:33if you'll turn in your Bibles to Acts chapter
- 3:36three, we're gonna read verses one through 10,
- 3:38and I'm excited to read this. God put this on
- 3:40my heart about this story, this account, and
- 3:43it's been on my heart for a couple weeks, and
- 3:45so I'm excited to preach it. Now, can y 'all
- 3:47help me preach this morning? Y 'all can help
- 3:49me preach, because I am a southerner. This will
- 3:51be the first time this Florida boy has ever preached
- 3:54with the snow falling down outside. I don't know
- 3:57what that means, if it means anything at all,
- 3:59but I think it's pretty cool. But I like to hear
- 4:03an amen once in a while. I like to have a little
- 4:07help, because I'm just excited about what God's
- 4:10gonna do. I preached this last night in my living
- 4:13room. The power went out, so I had to light a
- 4:14candle just to see. I could barely even read
- 4:16my Bible, but I preached it last night. and I
- 4:19was excited about it. Why, because I believe
- 4:22the Holy Spirit wants to do something in this
- 4:24church. I don't believe the Holy Spirit wants
- 4:26to do something in your life today. Can somebody
- 4:28say amen? Now I might fall off this thing because
- 4:32I am energetic and I like to walk when I talk
- 4:34and I like to, and so this, I don't know how
- 4:37you do it, pastor, it's not a lot of room and
- 4:38I am a lot bigger than you, so if I fall off,
- 4:41just laugh at me and we'll just keep on going.
- 4:43Somebody say amen. Amen, so Acts three, verse
- 4:46one through 10. Now Peter and John went up together
- 4:49to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of
- 4:52prayer. Things happen when we pray, somebody
- 4:54say, praise God. A man lame from birth was being
- 4:59carried, whom people placed daily at the beautiful
- 5:02gate of the temple to ask alms for those who
- 5:05entered the temple. There's a lame man asking
- 5:09for money, needed something in his life. Seeing
- 5:13Peter and John about to go into the temple, he
- 5:16asked for alms. Peter gazing at him with John
- 5:19said, look at us. So we paid attention to them,
- 5:24expecting to receive something from them. Then
- 5:28Peter said, I have no silver and gold. Imagine
- 5:32there was a little disappointment right there
- 5:33in the moment he said, I have no silver and gold.
- 5:35But I give you what I have. Back in my youth
- 5:41pastor days, this one went out and said, look
- 5:42at your neighbor and say, I give you what I have.
- 5:46Oh, come on somebody, I give you what I have.
- 5:49In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise
- 5:53up and walk. He took them by the right hand and
- 5:56he raised them up. What I love right there. If
- 5:58we pause for a moment, he said, get up and walk,
- 6:00and he didn't walk away from him. No, Peter and
- 6:03John had some faith there. They put their hands
- 6:05on him. They grabbed him by the hand and said,
- 6:06no, you're gonna get up and walk in the name
- 6:09of Jesus. That's how much we believe right now
- 6:12the power of God is so real that the Holy Spirit
- 6:15can do a work in your life that I'm literally
- 6:16gonna pick you up by the hand and I'm gonna walk
- 6:19with you. I think so many times we want miracles,
- 6:22but we wanna see the miracle happen from the
- 6:23pew. And we don't get out with the people that
- 6:26actually need the miracle. We don't go lay hands
- 6:28on the people that are sick anymore. I don't
- 6:30know why we don't do that. We don't go to the
- 6:32hospitals and pray for those that are in hospitals
- 6:34and that are in those beds anymore. But Peter
- 6:37and John, they put their faith in action. They
- 6:39said, I'm gonna give you what I have. And not
- 6:43only, I'm not just gonna say a little prayer,
- 6:45and I've been guilty of it, too, just saying
- 6:46a little prayer and moving on. I'm not gonna
- 6:48say a little prayer and move on and not think
- 6:50about you anymore. No, I'm gonna grab you by
- 6:52the hand, and we're gonna see this thing through.
- 6:56Just imagine if you started grabbing people by
- 6:58the hand in your workplace. Pastor, just imagine
- 7:01if these students start going to their schools
- 7:03and they start grabbing people by the hand in
- 7:05the lunchroom. Just think what happens, maybe.
- 7:09God's called you to walk in the bar and start
- 7:11snatching people out of those bars and bringing
- 7:13them to this church where they can find deliverance.
- 7:16Come on somebody. I think it's time that we start
- 7:19going where the sinners are, that we start going
- 7:21and finding the people that are lost, that we
- 7:23start taking people and we raise them up by the
- 7:26hand. And after he raised them up, immediately
- 7:32his feet and ankles were strengthened. Jumping
- 7:37up he stood and he walked and he entered the
- 7:40temple with them walking and jumping and praising
- 7:43God. The doing went, he didn't have no strength.
- 7:48He was a beggar. He didn't have anything. His
- 7:51life was not very important. His life was pretty
- 7:54miserable. But when two men full of the Holy
- 7:57Ghost showed up. They were able to reach down
- 8:00and they were able to pick them up in the name
- 8:01of Jesus, the name above every other name. He
- 8:04was able to walk and they said he started jumping
- 8:06up and down. Oh, that second song, that old Hillsong,
- 8:09what was that? That second song, that old Hillsong
- 8:10song you started doing. God is great. I was about
- 8:13ready to do it. I wish I had brought my guitar
- 8:14this morning and I would have played it with
- 8:16you. I started singing that song and all my friends
- 8:18were like, man, he's going to turn crazy. My
- 8:20kids were like, what is going on? I was excited
- 8:23because I remember that song from my youth. I
- 8:27remember that song, God is great. When this praise
- 8:29fills the earth, it fills the heavens. And I
- 8:31sang that at the top of my lungs. You might have
- 8:33saw it for a minute. I kind of wanted to jump
- 8:35up and down a little bit. Why? Because I've just
- 8:38been in that spot, the same spot as that beggar.
- 8:42Where I was depressed. I was lonely. Instead
- 8:46they, the other people, they picked him up and
- 8:48just dropped him off at the gate. Just where
- 8:50he could have something. And you may be in here
- 8:52today and you make him physically walk, but spiritually
- 8:55you're dead. Spiritually, you don't have no strength
- 8:59inside of you to do anything else. But I pray
- 9:04that we have a Peter and John moment here in
- 9:06the next 20 minutes. That you can come down to
- 9:10this altar that, you know, physically his ankles
- 9:13wouldn't work. And you might have a physical
- 9:16problem. We'll pray for that and believe God
- 9:18to heal you. But spiritually, your spiritual
- 9:21ankles just might not work and they need some
- 9:23strength in them. And I pray that you have a
- 9:26Peter and John moment. I pray that you jump up
- 9:31and down a little bit, that you walk and praise
- 9:33God. And we'll keep going. All the people saw
- 9:36him walking and praising God. They knew that
- 9:41it was he who set for arms at the beautiful gate
- 9:43of the temple. Wouldn't it be wonderful to walk
- 9:46into your workplace tomorrow and people see a
- 9:48change in your life? Wouldn't it be awesome to
- 9:52walk into your workplace tomorrow and they see
- 9:54a miracle has happened in your life. And they
- 9:58were filled with wonder and amazement at what
- 10:03happened to him. See, when Jesus touches you,
- 10:08there's wonder and amazement. Let's pray. Dear
- 10:10Heavenly Father, we love you and we praise you.
- 10:13And we thank you for this day, we thank you for
- 10:15your word, and God, I pray right now. That is
- 10:17not just me speaking, God, but Holy Spirit speak
- 10:20through me. Well, God, I pray that every person's
- 10:25heart in here be open to your word, that our
- 10:27eyes be open to your word, that our ears be open,
- 10:29that we can hear your word today. And God, if
- 10:31we need a touch from you, we know that we can
- 10:33get it today. And God, I pray if there's anyone
- 10:36in here that they don't know you, if they're
- 10:38lost or they never called on your name, that
- 10:40today is the name that they call in the name
- 10:42of Jesus, God. I pray if there's anyone in here
- 10:45that they want to be empowered by your Holy Spirit,
- 10:47that today is the day that they're empowered.
- 10:49Today is the day they're filled with the Holy
- 10:51Spirit. God, I pray that today is a day that
- 10:56it starts a revival. God, I pray that today is
- 11:00the day that miracles happen. So Lord, anoint
- 11:05your word. Let it be used for your glory and
- 11:09may we leave this place changed in Jesus' name,
- 11:11amen. Amen. I believe we could go home after
- 11:16that. You can never beat the scriptures, can
- 11:20ya? You can never beat the word of God. We were
- 11:22talking earlier with pastor and some, he was
- 11:25sharing some stories about pastors and maybe
- 11:27like some people have like, I would call them
- 11:29bad, church growth strategies and things like
- 11:32that. And you can read book after book after
- 11:34church growth and you can get different ideas
- 11:36and systems and different things and we need,
- 11:39obviously we need systems and things in churches.
- 11:43But the most important thing we need is the Holy
- 11:45Spirit. And I think about book after book. that
- 11:50comes out sometimes, and how to grow your church.
- 11:55But when I see Peter and John, Peter was basically
- 11:57the first pastor, right? How did they grow the
- 12:00church? Well, they go find a man that can't walk.
- 12:05They go find the least of the least, and they
- 12:08pick him up. And they say, in the name of Jesus,
- 12:11rise up and walk. But so many times we're just
- 12:14worried about how things look or how things feel
- 12:16and we're not We're not dealing with the we're
- 12:19not going to work to those people that need Jesus
- 12:21the most See Peter said I give what I have What
- 12:32a way to live your life What a way to live your
- 12:36life I give what I have are we giving what we
- 12:40have when we go to Walmart Are we given what
- 12:43we have when we go to work tomorrow morning?
- 12:45Are we given what we have, young people, when
- 12:46we're going to school tomorrow? Are you given
- 12:50what you have? See, Peter and John didn't have
- 12:52what the beggar was begging for. I want us to
- 12:56pay attention for that for a moment. Peter and
- 12:58John did not have what this man was begging for.
- 13:01The man needed some money. And there's going
- 13:04to be times in your life people are going to
- 13:06come through this church and they're going to
- 13:07beg. We were at Carlinville at the district office
- 13:10and a lady come in begging. And I made a mistake,
- 13:12I shouldn't have opened the door. That was my
- 13:14fault. But I opened the door and I couldn't give
- 13:18her the financial things that she needed. But
- 13:24we can always pray with somebody. There's gonna
- 13:27be times, thank God you're giving food. Now you're
- 13:30giving food, what a wonderful thing. Hey, if
- 13:33the government can't get it right, let's hope
- 13:34the church can. I don't think y 'all heard me.
- 13:37I said if the government can't get it right.
- 13:40Well, maybe we can at least get it together in
- 13:42the church. Praise God, brother. It should come
- 13:48from the church to start with. God gives us the
- 13:52means and the abilities. If you read in the New
- 13:54Testament, Peter and John, those guys, they were
- 13:56coming together and they were selling what they
- 13:58had to make sure everybody else was taken care
- 14:01of. Let's take care of the single moms. Let's
- 14:05take care of the children that don't have no
- 14:08parents. Let's take care of the people that are
- 14:09hungry. We don't know why they're in that place.
- 14:12And so many times we wanna look and judge why
- 14:15they're in the situation they're in. Fill their
- 14:17belly up with some food and tell them about Jesus.
- 14:23Because if you fill them up with food and you
- 14:25fill them full of the Holy Spirit, guess what
- 14:27they're gonna wanna do? They're gonna wanna replicate
- 14:29that. And they're gonna be disciples that are
- 14:32made and they're gonna do the same things. See
- 14:35Peter and John didn't always have what the beggar
- 14:37was begging for, but they had what the beggar
- 14:39needed. They had what he needed. There might
- 14:46be alcoholics that start coming to this church
- 14:48because they hear something good is going on.
- 14:51They think they need alcohol. They think there
- 14:54might be drug addicts coming to this church and
- 14:56they think they need another fix. And you're
- 14:59not gonna have alcohol to give them, you're not
- 15:01gonna have drugs to give them, but you're gonna
- 15:04have Jesus to give them. And I know that sounds
- 15:07so simple, but it's so powerful. The beggar,
- 15:14he was just begging for, I need money, I need
- 15:16money, I need money. I can't do anything, my
- 15:18life is a wreck. I don't have money. I don't
- 15:23have the silver and gold, but I give you what
- 15:25I have. See, we have exactly what Lincoln needs.
- 15:33This church has exactly what Lincoln needs. I'm
- 15:37gonna say it again, I don't think y 'all are
- 15:38getting it. This church has exactly what Lincoln
- 15:41needs. Because like I told you earlier, when
- 15:44I walked in and I heard people praying in the
- 15:47Holy Spirit, I said, oh, this is something special.
- 15:50Why? This is what's going to change the community.
- 15:53There are people in this community that are dying
- 15:54and they're going to hell. Well, I pray that
- 15:57you're able to go into these communities, you're
- 15:59able to bring the alcoholics and the drug addicts
- 16:01in here, the lost people in here, and you give
- 16:04them what they need. See if we live our lives
- 16:07in such a manner of being close to the Holy Spirit
- 16:09and hearing his voice we can give people what
- 16:11they need And what happens and when you have
- 16:14what people need you're able to take authority
- 16:16over the situation See Peter takes authority
- 16:19over the situation See receiving alms receiving
- 16:23the money was just a band -aid to this guy's
- 16:26problem The guy had a problem he couldn't walk
- 16:30he couldn't work he wasn't able to receive any
- 16:33kind of Funds, right? He had a problem. Giving
- 16:36them a little money, it would help them for the
- 16:39day. But what Peter and John gave him, it helped
- 16:42them for the rest of his life. And not only that,
- 16:45when they did that, they were able to preach
- 16:47and they were able to teach and they were able
- 16:49to share what happened and who did it. Church
- 16:52basically went from 3 ,000 to 5 ,000 after they
- 16:55took a man by the hand and said, rise up and
- 16:57walk. See, I think God wants his people to push
- 17:04back the darkness. God wants his people to push
- 17:08back the darkness. That's the great thing about
- 17:10this church. I'm sure there's some dark stuff
- 17:13that goes on in this city. There's some dark
- 17:15stuff that goes on in this state. We already
- 17:19see the federal government, they can't get it
- 17:21together. The local government, sometimes they
- 17:22can't get it together. But guess what happens?
- 17:28When the church is the church. When the church
- 17:31finds the beggars, when the church finds the
- 17:33lowlies and says, they take them up by the hand
- 17:34and rise upon the wall, Jesus is glorified, Jesus
- 17:37is magnified, and the light is shined. See, what
- 17:40darkness can never penetrate the light. You can
- 17:45see it talks about that a lot. I'm gonna do it
- 17:46today. Because last night that power wind was
- 17:49blowing, it was crazy, I'd never seen anything
- 17:51like it. We have hurricanes, but we also have
- 17:53pine trees and stuff to block the wind. It's
- 17:55like all the corn's gone, so that wind's just
- 17:57flowing through Carlinville. And I don't know,
- 18:00I guess something blew on a power line, because
- 18:02about every 10 minutes it would flicker. Oh,
- 18:03we're gonna get power back in and it wouldn't
- 18:06come back on. So what did I do in a dark house
- 18:09with the power out? I went and got a lighter.
- 18:13And I found a candle, because my wife likes candles,
- 18:16right? She likes things to smell pretty. She
- 18:18doesn't do it for the light, but she likes things
- 18:20to smell pretty. I don't smell pretty, so we
- 18:23have to have candles. Hey, y 'all laughing at
- 18:25my jokes, this is gonna be a good day. But I
- 18:28got that candle. I got that candle out and I
- 18:37lit that wick of the candle. And that wick burned
- 18:41and that candle started to melt. And you know
- 18:43what I did? I grabbed it and I walked around
- 18:45the house with it. It lit my path. The moment
- 18:49that candle was lit, that darkness, it went away.
- 18:53And guess what I could do with that candle? I
- 18:54could light more candles. I could light candle
- 18:56after candle after candle. And if I wanted to
- 18:58with that candle, I could set the whole place
- 18:59on fire and everybody could see it. But just
- 19:04think if every one of us in here, if we let the
- 19:08Holy Spirit light that candle inside of us, and
- 19:12then we go to work and we light somebody else's
- 19:14candle. We go to we go to a family reunion and
- 19:17we like somebody else's candle we go to Walmart
- 19:20and instead of going through the self -checkout
- 19:22line We go through the line where there's the
- 19:23clerk and you can see on her face She's having
- 19:25a bad day and she doesn't want to check you out.
- 19:27She sees your book I'm gonna say buggy, but she
- 19:29sees your buggy full of groceries. You don't
- 19:30know what that is Okay, we're good in she sees
- 19:33your buggy full of groceries and she's like,
- 19:35oh, I don't wanna check you out, but by the end
- 19:37of it, when you've shared what Jesus has done
- 19:39in your life, when you shared about the goodness
- 19:41of God, may I pray that there's tears start going
- 19:44down her face, why? Because that woman needs
- 19:46a touch from the Lord, and so many times we're
- 19:49trying to avoid people, but God, and it's so
- 19:52easy to avoid the beggar, Peter and John could
- 19:54have avoided him, but they didn't avoid him,
- 19:56they picked him up by the hand and said, in the
- 19:57name of Jesus, it's time for you to get up. But
- 20:02are we doing it with the people that we know?
- 20:03Are we even doing it with our family members
- 20:05that we love? Are we telling them, get out of
- 20:07your pity party, get rid of the sin in your life,
- 20:11rise up and walk into who God has called you
- 20:13to be? See, signs and wonders will follow his
- 20:19believers. I love that one of y 'all said that
- 20:20this morning as we're ending prayer, that I pray
- 20:23this service ends with signs and wonders. Signs
- 20:28and wonders follows his believers. Miracles happen
- 20:31at the hands of obedience of Peter. Miracles
- 20:34can happen at the obedience of you right here
- 20:36in Lincoln. Sometimes it seems like Peter can
- 20:40be a larger than life character. But just a few
- 20:45months earlier, Peter felt like the biggest failure
- 20:47on the planet. That will speak to some of you.
- 20:51That speaks to me because sometimes I feel like
- 20:53a failure. Sometimes I feel like I let God down.
- 21:00Sometimes I feel like I don't do what he's called
- 21:02me to do. And just a few months earlier, before
- 21:08Peter was raising up a man, performing a miracle,
- 21:12he felt that way. Peter was someone that walked
- 21:14and he talked with Jesus. He was very close to
- 21:17Jesus and he loved Jesus very much. He loved
- 21:21Jesus so much that when Jesus was getting arrested,
- 21:24that he went and Peter grabbed the sword and
- 21:27he cut the dude's ear off. He's like, you ain't
- 21:28messing with Jesus. But Jesus told him, you know,
- 21:34in the last supper, in the last and final moments
- 21:35when they're together, he's like, Peter, you
- 21:37say you love me, but you're gonna deny me three
- 21:39times. And Peter's like, no, I'm not gonna deny
- 21:42you, not me. I can never deny you, Jesus. There's
- 21:46no way on earth that is gonna happen. And he
- 21:49was ready to fight. And in that one moment, he
- 21:53was ready to fight. He loses his purpose in the
- 21:55next moment. When they say, hey, Peter, hey,
- 22:01I know you. You're the one that you walk with,
- 22:03Jesus. You run with that guy. That's who you
- 22:07run with. That's who you walk with. And Peter's
- 22:09like, that ain't me. Not me. I don't know that
- 22:13dude. That's not who I am. I'm not one of those
- 22:17guys. Three times he says it and Three times
- 22:23he said and the third time Jesus said well the
- 22:24rooster's gonna crow before the end of the night
- 22:27And can you imagine that in the same night? He
- 22:29pulls out a sword cuts off the guy's ear But
- 22:33then he turns around says I don't know him He
- 22:36lost his purpose And I think sometimes some of
- 22:40us we lose our purpose And I'm not here to give
- 22:43you some TED talk about purpose or some self
- 22:45-help book I'm here to talk about your Holy Spirit,
- 22:49your purpose that is given to you by the divine,
- 22:52holy, and righteous God. We hear a lot about
- 22:57purpose. I was listening to a podcast this week,
- 22:59it was a comedian, and they're interviewing Tim
- 23:00Tebow, and I think it was something like, he
- 23:02was saying like, there's like three fifths of
- 23:06Americans right now, they feel like they don't
- 23:07have a purpose in life. They don't have a purpose.
- 23:13You know why? It's because they don't have the
- 23:15gospel. The gospel gives you purpose. Your work
- 23:22doesn't necessarily give you purpose, right?
- 23:24Your truck or your car doesn't necessarily give
- 23:27you purpose. Your house doesn't give you purpose.
- 23:29What gives you purpose? It's the gospel. See,
- 23:34Peter was the man, the Peter, the man we see
- 23:36performing a miracle in front of the same people
- 23:38that... Excuse me, let me slow it down. Peter
- 23:40is performing a miracle right here and he's performing
- 23:44it in front of the same people that had Jesus
- 23:45crucified. But that God that was so powerful,
- 23:51so full of faith, so full of the Holy Spirit,
- 23:54he lost his purpose and was full of shame. Peter
- 23:58was a man that was called a God. Jesus called
- 24:00him and said, hey, come follow me. Jesus right
- 24:03now is saying to you, man and woman in here,
- 24:06young person here, God's saying, hey, come follow
- 24:09me. Jesus also called him to be a fisher of men.
- 24:13And then Jesus did something really spectacular
- 24:15in his life. He said, Peter, you're gonna be
- 24:17the rock. I'm gonna use you, Peter, to build
- 24:19this church, to establish the church. Peter knew
- 24:24the calling of God on his life. And some of you
- 24:29in here, you may know the calling of God on your
- 24:31life and you've been running from it. Or some
- 24:34of you in here, you know, you've felt the presence
- 24:37of God, you've called on His name. But you've
- 24:41maybe denied Peter, I mean you denied Jesus like
- 24:44Peter has. And you might be going on your third
- 24:47time. But I believe God sent me here today to
- 24:50preach, maybe to wake you up a little bit. Maybe
- 24:53for the Holy Spirit to do something in your life,
- 24:55see. Peter got scared when he was called out
- 25:00for being a follower of Jesus. Peter knew that
- 25:05he was called of God, and despite all of that,
- 25:08he lost his purpose. Sometimes even as pastors
- 25:15and teachers and missionaries, sometimes we can
- 25:19lose our purpose. We can take our eyes off of
- 25:22what God has called us to do. Sometimes it's
- 25:28easier than it even should be. But thank God
- 25:33that our God is a God full of grace, that he's
- 25:39a redeeming God, and he doesn't just let you
- 25:42sit in your self -pity. See, when Peter denied
- 25:47Jesus, they said he went and wept bitterly. He
- 25:52went from sore ready to weeping bitterly when
- 25:54he realized what he'd done. See in that moment,
- 25:57it didn't seem like Peter was the rock that God
- 25:59had called him to be There's some of you in here
- 26:03I believe it like God has called you to do some
- 26:05things and you messed up or you haven't been
- 26:09living right or you haven't been doing what God's
- 26:11called you and Peter at that moment wasn't doing
- 26:13what God had called him to do He didn't seem
- 26:16like the rock that he was supposed to be Peter
- 26:18had one of the worst nights a disciple of Jesus
- 26:21could have let's just be honest What a horrible
- 26:24night But thank God a bad night doesn't define
- 26:27who you are in Christ. I'm gonna say that again.
- 26:31Thank God that a bad night does not define who
- 26:33you are in Christ. We're dealing that with people
- 26:36in our leadership on the island, and I'm having
- 26:38to tell me that bad night doesn't define you.
- 26:40Was it stupid? Yes. Was it wrong? Yes. But that
- 26:43doesn't change the call that God has placed on
- 26:45your heart. You have to repent, you have to move
- 26:48on from it, you have to hand it over to God and
- 26:50say, God, I shouldn't have done this, but it
- 26:52does not define who you are. And I think so many
- 26:56times we let one mistake define who we are when
- 26:58we literally serve a God that died on a cross
- 27:00for us to wipe that mistake away. See, we look
- 27:05at our mistake and we don't look at the cross.
- 27:09If I can tell you, church, stop looking at your
- 27:11mistakes and start looking at the cross. I said,
- 27:15stop looking at your mistakes and start looking
- 27:18at the cross where the Son of Man came and He
- 27:20died and He bled for you. And He died on the
- 27:23cross for your sin and your shame. And they put
- 27:25Him in a grave. But what happened on the third
- 27:27day? He rose again. So you don't have to look
- 27:30at your mistakes, but you get to look at a living
- 27:33God. I said, you don't have to look at your mistakes,
- 27:35but you get to look at a living God. And you
- 27:37can ask that living God to enter into your heart,
- 27:40to enter into your life, and say, I'm going to
- 27:42serve you with everything that I have. See, the
- 27:47guilt of what Peter done was probably unbearable.
- 27:52And you may be in here today and you lost your
- 27:54purpose. And you feel like you haven't been as
- 27:58close to God as you need to be. Or you feel like
- 28:00maybe you've wandered away and you haven't prayed
- 28:03or read your Bible lately. Or you've been going
- 28:06to the bars on the weekend instead of maybe coming
- 28:08to church like you're supposed to. Maybe you've
- 28:11become a denier. Maybe you're someone that's
- 28:14living in shame. But Jesus didn't die on the
- 28:16cross for you to live in shame. Jesus died on
- 28:19the cross that you can live for his name. I think
- 28:23so many times we forget that. There's the purpose
- 28:25right here. If you don't take anything else from
- 28:27this service, you don't take anything else from
- 28:29this message that you are called to live for
- 28:32his name. That's why God breathed life into you.
- 28:36And if you're breathing this air right now, If
- 28:38your lungs still have air in them, God bring
- 28:40that life into you, and that's where you can
- 28:42pray, for you to praise him, for you to glorify
- 28:45him. Yours for to live, for the name of Jesus.
- 28:47And that's why we did this worship, and that's
- 28:49why I got a little excited to jump up and down
- 28:51when you started playing that song. Why? Because
- 28:54God created me for something special. He created
- 28:57me to worship a holy and almighty God. Sometimes
- 29:02I forget, but I don't realize, I get to worship
- 29:05the creator of the universe. I get to worship
- 29:10a God that is holy and a God that loves and a
- 29:13God that saves. Sin is on this earth, it's present
- 29:18on this earth, and sin, it does separate us from
- 29:21God. But God said, even though that sin separates
- 29:25us, I'm still gonna send my son Jesus. See, we're
- 29:30called to live for his name. See, you may have
- 29:38lost your purpose, but our God is a God of revival,
- 29:44pastor. You might have grew up going to Lake
- 29:49Williamson, going to youth camp, and you might
- 29:50have seen God is great, and his praise fills
- 29:53the air. You might have jumped up and down a
- 29:54little bit. You might remember that song when
- 29:57you were at youth camp. But the last few years,
- 30:01you've just been getting by. Sunday morning and
- 30:04Wednesday night's just been a routine for you.
- 30:08but God is a God of revival. I pray when you
- 30:12take those students to momentum, there's revival
- 30:14stirred up in them. See our God is a God of revival.
- 30:20This week I started playing the song, The Wonderful
- 30:23Blood, I don't know if y 'all, if you might've
- 30:24heard that song, y 'all might play it here. And
- 30:26as that song was playing, I just had to start
- 30:29praying in the Holy Ghost. And I was praying
- 30:32and I was praying, I was getting louder and louder,
- 30:33the house was empty. And at one point I got to
- 30:36praying so loud. It's like them college students
- 30:39might hear me. Derek might run over from his
- 30:41house. He'd probably join me, praise God. I love
- 30:43that kid. What an anointing man of God he is.
- 30:49And I'm so thankful for him. He would've helped
- 30:50me pray. We're so excited. Hey, the church is
- 30:53gonna be in good shape with people like him.
- 30:55The church ain't gonna die. We ain't gonna have
- 30:57to close our doors because we have people like
- 30:59Derek and young men and young women answering
- 31:01the call of God. They're believing, they say,
- 31:03hey, there is a God given purpose for my life.
- 31:07When I was praying, I prayed and I got to the
- 31:10point I couldn't even stand up and pray anymore,
- 31:12Pastor. I just laid on the floor praying in tongues.
- 31:15Why? Because I needed a God to touch my life.
- 31:18I just needed to be one with the Holy Spirit
- 31:21before I preach this message. I needed to be
- 31:23one with the Holy Spirit before I'm a father
- 31:24to my kids, before I'm a husband to my wife.
- 31:30Sometimes I fell on that, but when I can get
- 31:32in the Holy Spirit, when I can pray, His grace
- 31:34is sufficient. He's a God of revival. I needed
- 31:39revival in my life this week. Thank God I was
- 31:43able to pray. Thank God the Holy Spirit was able
- 31:46to touch my life where I can come preach to you
- 31:48this week. I don't want to be up here not full
- 31:51of the Holy Spirit. See, God is a God of revival.
- 32:00So I pray that this church has revival, pastor.
- 32:04I pray that you people in these pews, that y
- 32:07'all have revival, and that the revival, that
- 32:10you're already in a spirit of revival, I can
- 32:12sense it, I feel it, God's doing amazing things,
- 32:14and I pray that that spirit of revival continues,
- 32:17where you can awaken that city out there. I pray
- 32:22that the spirit of revival continues, that you
- 32:24awaken that city, and that your young people
- 32:26get it. that they go into their schools, that
- 32:29the children's church, the kids there, they get
- 32:31it and they go in their schools and they tell
- 32:32their teachers about it. They tell their friends
- 32:34about it. They invite them to church and they
- 32:36say, hey, crazy things are happening at my church.
- 32:39Miracles happen at my church. People that we've
- 32:42never thought we would see walk in the halls
- 32:44of a church. They're now in church and when the
- 32:47pastor says, come up front, they're raising their
- 32:48hands and worship. That's revival. I pray that
- 32:51there's a revival that awakens this city and
- 32:53that it moves through this state. Because God,
- 32:55we need somebody to do it. And if y 'all don't
- 32:58do it, who's gonna do it? So many times we, especially
- 33:05growing up in the 90s, that was a little revival
- 33:07time, and churches would go from, people would
- 33:08go from one church to the other, and they were
- 33:10a revival hop. And they would go from church
- 33:13to church to church, because there was a spirit
- 33:14of revival there. Quit running around to other
- 33:17churches and bring revival to your church. Bring
- 33:19revival to your community. There's people out
- 33:21there that need it. But too many times we're
- 33:25running around chasing things. When we don't
- 33:29have to chase this, they're in the word of God.
- 33:32Let me tell you, you don't have to go anywhere
- 33:34else. You don't have to try out another church.
- 33:36This is the church for you. Why? Because the
- 33:39Holy Spirit's in this church, and your pastors
- 33:41are annoyed, and that's all you need. You may
- 33:50be in here today, and you're hearing about this
- 33:52purpose. You're talking about a revival, but
- 33:56you may have Never found your purpose. And today
- 34:02can be a day of awakening for you. Today can
- 34:05be a day of salvation for you. See, Peter probably
- 34:10thought he was done, but God had great plans.
- 34:14You could have walked in here today and you're
- 34:15like, this might be the last time I come to church.
- 34:18You could have came in here today and you're
- 34:20driving in your car and you're like, I think
- 34:21I might be done with my marriage. You can come
- 34:23here today and you think, I don't know if I can
- 34:25handle life anymore. Peter was in that same spot
- 34:30and he was done, but God still had great plans
- 34:32for his life. See, he was not finished with Peter,
- 34:37but he was just actually getting started. Oh,
- 34:41God's just getting started here. I heard you
- 34:43said you added more seats in, where I praise
- 34:45God you're going to be adding more seats. Let's
- 34:47just speak to it. I praise God that we're going
- 34:49to be adding more seats. I hope one day you're
- 34:51running two services. Why? Because people are
- 34:54on fire for the things of God, that people can
- 34:56come to this house, they can come to this place,
- 34:58and they can find Jesus. They can find hope.
- 35:02They can find peace. They can find love. You
- 35:08see, God has brought you to this place, church
- 35:10members, to be a part of it. God has brought
- 35:14you here because let me tell you something when
- 35:17revival happens When people are coming off the
- 35:20streets that are drug addicts and alcoholics
- 35:22They need people to pray with them and they don't
- 35:24need no little like Oh Lord, just bless them.
- 35:26No, they need a woman that's full of the Holy
- 35:27Ghost. I Remember y 'all remember the beehive
- 35:31hair who remembers those days. I'm from the south.
- 35:33It may have been a southern thing. I don't know.
- 35:36Oh But it was something when she we say she got
- 35:39the Holy Ghost and she prayed her hair down What
- 35:42did that mean? That mean she interceded, and
- 35:45she wasn't leaving that place till she heard
- 35:47from God. She wasn't leaving that place till
- 35:49she was touched. I'm not saying I'd grow beehive
- 35:53hair back out, but I'm saying I wouldn't mind
- 35:55some old lady full of the Holy Ghost praying
- 35:56for me every once in a while. I don't mind some
- 36:00old man full of the Holy Ghost praying for me
- 36:02every once in a while. That's where life change
- 36:05happens. See Peter was he thought he was done,
- 36:11but he was just getting started Some of you might
- 36:13have walked through those doors today. He said
- 36:15I'm done But if you'll listen to this preacher
- 36:17for a moment that God's not through with you.
- 36:19He's just getting started See, I hope that God
- 36:22is just getting started for me. I was thinking
- 36:24last night You know, I've been in the ministry
- 36:26almost 20 years. I might not look it I know I
- 36:28look kind of young but I have I remember it started
- 36:31at 16 years old with World Rangers I gave me
- 36:34my own class because nobody else to step up to
- 36:35the plate. What a shame When I was 16 years old,
- 36:40I had Roller Rangers by myself. And there were
- 36:43about 10 boys in there. Sometimes it was chaos.
- 36:48But we preached Jesus. 18 years old, I started
- 36:52teaching Sunday school to the middle school boys
- 36:54and girls. That was fun. That was when Harry
- 36:58Potter was popular and everybody wanted to argue
- 37:00about that. And I'm like, man, I don't care.
- 37:02Let's just preach Jesus. Started preaching from
- 37:06a pulpit at the age of 18, answered the call
- 37:08to missions at the age of 20. We've seen young
- 37:13people taking them to youth camp and fine arts.
- 37:16Seen them baptizing the Holy Spirit, now we see
- 37:18them serving in churches. We got to go to Curaçao
- 37:23with the Southerners, many of y 'all know them,
- 37:24we got to plant a church together. We've seen
- 37:2912 people at a prayer meeting. One Sunday they
- 37:32had over 200 people for a worship night. And
- 37:34the numbers are good, but what's better than
- 37:36the numbers, we also see people that would come
- 37:39in our church and they would sit there for months.
- 37:41I'm talking months. We had one lady, her kids
- 37:44got saved, the second week they brought on, praise
- 37:46God for that. Six months later, she came down
- 37:50to the front and said, I'm ready to give my heart
- 37:51to the Lord. Amen, yeah, we can praise God for
- 37:55that. I think so many times we want this instant.
- 37:59Success. We want our church to double overnight.
- 38:02It doesn't necessarily always happen that way.
- 38:06But we didn't put no pressure on that lady. All
- 38:09we did was love on her. We loved on her. We didn't
- 38:12judge her. And guess what happened? She heard
- 38:14the gospel preach for six months straight. And
- 38:18she surrendered her heart to Jesus. A few months
- 38:21ago, we baptized eight people in the Caribbean
- 38:23Sea. Come on, God's doing something. God is doing
- 38:28something, and we don't shy away from who we
- 38:30are. We have liberal Presbyterians come to our
- 38:32church. They're our number one evangelists. They
- 38:35invite more people to our church than anybody
- 38:36else. They don't agree with everything we do.
- 38:39Do I back down from it? Absolutely not. But do
- 38:42I love her? I absolutely do. Does she feel loved?
- 38:47She absolutely does, or she wouldn't come. I
- 38:52guess you can come on to play, that way y 'all
- 38:54shut up. I pray God's just getting started with
- 38:59your pastors. I know they've been here for a
- 39:02little while, but man, the life that they have.
- 39:07The vision, thank you pastor for just having
- 39:09a vision. You wouldn't believe the churches we
- 39:10go to, there's no vision, there's no man, the
- 39:12mission's on the wall. Somebody say amen. It's
- 39:16clear what your church is here to do. I love
- 39:19what your priority is. It is people, come on.
- 39:23That's what God has called us to do. See, he
- 39:29was just getting started. Peter was called to
- 39:30be the rock, and after Jesus descended into heaven,
- 39:34there was around 120 believers that were gathered
- 39:37together waiting for the promise to be empowered.
- 39:42We are a Pentecostal church, come on somebody.
- 39:47120 people stay together. See, God gave Peter
- 39:51a purpose, and he was going to empower him to
- 39:55accomplish that purpose. Whether you're the youngest
- 40:00person in this room or the oldest person in this
- 40:03room, God has given you a purpose and he wants
- 40:06to empower you to accomplish it. God's not going
- 40:12to send you to the workplace to be a witness
- 40:14without empowering you to do it. He's not going
- 40:16to call you to preach the word to the students
- 40:18without empowering you to do it. God's not going
- 40:22to call you to go on missions trips without empowering
- 40:25you to do it. It's what God wants to do big and
- 40:29scary sometimes. It absolutely is. But the good
- 40:32thing about it is He's going to empower us to
- 40:34do it. So if He's given you a big dream, He will
- 40:37empower you. He will give you the means and the
- 40:39resources for you to see that dream fulfilled.
- 40:44I pray that God gives you big dreams. I pray
- 40:46that God gives you big visions. God is going
- 40:53to empower you to do His work. Peter was weak
- 40:56in his own flesh. He's been weak here before.
- 40:59You don't have to raise your hand, but you may
- 41:01feel weak today. See, I'm weak when I try to
- 41:05do it my own way. Let me tell you, I can't do
- 41:09it my own way. When I do it my own way, that's
- 41:12when everything seems to fall apart and it looks
- 41:13like a disaster. But when Peter received power
- 41:17from Almighty God, he was able to step up to
- 41:19the plate. Peter was able to do what God had
- 41:23always called him to do. Peter was able to be
- 41:26that rock. Peter was able to be that pastor,
- 41:29but it didn't happen until he received the power
- 41:31from the Holy Spirit. They went and they waited.
- 41:39There's 120 people after Jesus ascended. They
- 41:42went and they waited and they prayed. Actually,
- 41:45the ministry really didn't truly start till they
- 41:47were empowered. And so many times we just want
- 41:50to run out the door and go, no, no, no. We do
- 41:52want to send you out those doors. We want to
- 41:54send you out ready to take on hell with a water
- 41:56pistol. But we don't want to do it until you're
- 41:58empowered. So today is your day to be empowered.
- 42:05Look at your neighbor and say, today is my day
- 42:07to be empowered. Those people were praying they
- 42:14knew that God had a plan and a purpose for in
- 42:16their life God told Jesus told him that as he
- 42:18was going up to heaven. He gave him the Great
- 42:20Commission And as they were praying the Holy
- 42:24Spirit fell on Peter and the other believers
- 42:27They said it was like a mighty wind and just
- 42:29rushed through that building and the Holy Spirit
- 42:31fell on them And they received the Holy Spirit
- 42:34and they spoke in other tongues as the Holy Spirit
- 42:36empowered them to do it And what I want to say
- 42:42about that, while we speak in tongues, it isn't
- 42:44just for us to feel good. And in Pentecostal,
- 42:49I'm glad we're excited. Don't get me wrong. But
- 42:52we're not looking for an emotional experience
- 42:54here today. We're looking to be empowered. Why?
- 42:58Because there are people in Lincoln that will
- 43:00die and go to hell unless you tell them about
- 43:02them, unless you share the gospel. There are
- 43:05young people in this church that need to be discipled.
- 43:07And I know y 'all do a good job because I see
- 43:09Derek every Tuesday night when he eats my food,
- 43:11and he tells me, hey, I'm preaching the word
- 43:13of God now. Come on, somebody. But we don't just
- 43:17need one, Derek. We need 20 of them. I hope your
- 43:22church is sending student after student after
- 43:24student to that place to get discipled. See,
- 43:30the Holy Spirit empowered them. I can't imagine
- 43:33what that sounded like. I can't imagine what
- 43:36it was like when that wind swept through there.
- 43:39But Peter just a few months earlier said, I don't
- 43:43know Jesus. Second time, no, I don't know him.
- 43:47The third time, he even cussed about it. It might
- 43:50not even have been a PG word. It might have been
- 43:52bad. He cussed about it. He said, I don't know
- 43:55the man. And then he went and wept bitterly.
- 43:58But when he was empowered by the Holy Ghost,
- 44:02He stood up and he preached like no one has ever
- 44:04preached before. Oh, I don't think you get it.
- 44:07I said he preached like no one ever preached
- 44:09before. See, you may be in here today and you
- 44:11think you're inadequate. You may be in here today
- 44:13and you don't think you have the abilities to
- 44:15be a witness. Peter was someone that was a denier,
- 44:18but the heater ran away and he was ashamed. But
- 44:20God showed up in his life and he did it one more
- 44:23time. If God did it for Peter, he can do it for
- 44:25you. See that Holy Spirit baptism was not just
- 44:28for the New Testament church. We are the New
- 44:30Testament church. And I don't know why we get
- 44:33that confused sometimes. We are the New Testament
- 44:37church and that promise to empower is for us.
- 44:40It's for you. So everyone stand up with me. Oh,
- 44:50I can't wait for revival to break out in Lincoln.
- 44:57I can't wait for revival to break out in Illinois.
- 45:01But it has to start somewhere. Oh, I hope it's
- 45:06with your students. I hope the night is a night
- 45:10just full of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit,
- 45:17empower Peter. And 3 ,000 people were saved.
- 45:25You mean the man that denied Jesus that was a
- 45:27scaredy cat, that was a wuss? Someone that we
- 45:31lost respect for? Yes, God restored the man.
- 45:34And he was the rock that he called him to be.
- 45:37God doesn't break his promises. And his promise
- 45:40is to empower his people. So if you call on the
- 45:44name of Jesus, you can be baptized in the Holy
- 45:47Spirit. See, if we can believe the Holy Spirit
- 45:51can draw us to Jesus, why don't we believe Jesus
- 45:53can baptize us in the Holy Spirit? Three thousand
- 46:03were saved. He goes to the temple and he gives
- 46:07the man what he has. Took him by the hand and
- 46:11he walked. Did this miracle in front of the people
- 46:19that tried to kill that had Jesus killed Here's
- 46:23what's crazy thing to happen And we might need
- 46:26to get ready for this. I just don't know because
- 46:27the government is a little wack right now We
- 46:30might just need to be prepared for it When they
- 46:35healed the man they preached Jesus They gave
- 46:39him an opportunity to preach Jesus. You might
- 46:42not be a great preacher like pastor But I pray
- 46:47that you do have the ability to lay hands on
- 46:49somebody and they're healed. And you get to share
- 46:51the gospel. You get to share why they're healed.
- 46:55Peter and John, they shared what happened. They
- 46:57said, we do this in the name of Jesus, the guy
- 46:59that you had killed. And what did they do? They
- 47:01locked him up. Oh, I almost fell. I told you
- 47:04it was coming. They locked him up. They took
- 47:10Peter. They took John and locked him up. And
- 47:13it basically says, we don't know what to do with
- 47:15them. Oh man, I hope that one day the newspaper
- 47:21and the political leaders of this county and
- 47:23this city of Lincoln say, we don't know what
- 47:25to do with those guys. But we gotta send a traffic
- 47:29cop out here on Sunday mornings to make sure
- 47:31people can get in. Oh come on somebody, why not
- 47:34have a big faith? Why not have a big vision?
- 47:42I pray that school calls you one day, we don't
- 47:43know what to do, but your students are speaking
- 47:45some unknown language, and there's about 20 of
- 47:47them laying out on the floor. Oklahoma, why not
- 47:52dream that? All we know is that football player
- 47:56that his ACL was torn, that ninth grader prayed
- 47:59for him, and they started speaking his unknown
- 48:01language, and that guy got up and he was able
- 48:03to walk, and he said his ACL was repaired, and
- 48:06he's gonna go play football Friday night. Why
- 48:08not? He is capable of it. But it takes someone
- 48:15like Peter and John willing to take them by the
- 48:17hand and sink it up and walk. The Holy Ghost
- 48:22is in this place. He locked them up. You see,
- 48:31once Peter was empowered by the Holy Spirit,
- 48:34he was able to be the man that Jesus had called
- 48:37him to be. Are you ready to be? who Jesus has
- 48:42called you to be. Let's just close our eyes for
- 48:48a moment. If you're praying to the Holy Ghost,
- 48:51pray to the Holy Ghost. I think God's wanting
- 48:52to do something in this house. You want to ask
- 49:00the question again, are you ready to be who Jesus
- 49:03has called you to be? Young man, are you ready?
- 49:07Young man, are you ready to answer the call of
- 49:10God on your life and say I'm ready to preach
- 49:12the word at my school I'm ready to answer the
- 49:15call to be a pastor one day. I'm ready to answer
- 49:18the call to be a missionary one day I'm ready
- 49:20to answer the call to be a small group leader.
- 49:22Is that you young man young lady? Are you ready
- 49:24to answer the call to be on the worship team?
- 49:27Young lady, are you ready to answer the call
- 49:29to preach the gospel? You mean I can preach the
- 49:32gospel too? Yeah, because the Word of God says
- 49:34the daughter shall prophesy. That means to declare
- 49:36a message. Come on somebody. Young lady, are
- 49:40you ready to answer the call? Mom and dad, I
- 49:46got a question for you. Are you ready to be the
- 49:49mom and dad that God has called you to be? You
- 49:54might not have been the best mom and dad in recent
- 49:56years. Peter wasn't the best disciple either,
- 50:00but look what happened. Mom and dad, are you
- 50:05ready to answer the call? Grandma and grandpa,
- 50:09are you ready to answer the call? Are you ready
- 50:15to be who Jesus wants you to be? So I'm about
- 50:17to give two altar calls. The first one is, if
- 50:21you never called on the name Jesus, and you're
- 50:24ready to say, I'm ready to call on his name,
- 50:26I'm ready to find that purpose, This is not a
- 50:31revival moment. This is an awakening moment.
- 50:33This is a salvation moment We're about to have
- 50:36the revival moment But if you're in here you
- 50:39see I'm ready to call in the name of Jesus I'm
- 50:42ready to be saved because there's no other name
- 50:44that can save but the name of Jesus Is that you
- 50:46where you walk down right now? Yes in front of
- 50:49everybody because Jesus says if you deny him
- 50:51in front of his friends He'll deny you in front
- 50:52of the father. So this is not to embarrass anybody
- 50:56But this is to rejoice that a soul is being added
- 50:59into the kingdom of heaven. So we're gonna think
- 51:02about 10 seconds if that's you. You're ready
- 51:06to call on the name of Jesus. You're ready to
- 51:09say today's the day I wanna be saved. Today's
- 51:11the day I wanna give, surrender my life to Christ
- 51:15when you come forward. Dear Lord, I pray if there's
- 51:18anybody in here as I pray that they'll come forward.
- 51:23Oh may the day be the day of salvation. But we
- 51:30want to trust that everybody in here is saved.
- 51:36So this comes in the next part of this altar
- 51:39call. I know it's snowing outside and I think
- 51:42it's awesome. But I think I'm about ready for
- 51:45the fire to fall inside of this place. If you're
- 51:50in here today and you're ready for revival. And
- 51:56I'm not just talking about a church -wide thing
- 51:58where we all come up here and speak in tongues.
- 52:00No, I'm talking about something inside of your
- 52:02heart where you know that you have not been living
- 52:05right, or you know that you haven't been doing
- 52:06exactly what God has called you to do. If you're
- 52:09ready for revival, will you come down to this
- 52:11altar right now? If you're ready for revival,
- 52:15if you're ready to see your family, I pray that
- 52:49the wind blows through this place. Now when they
- 52:55were empowered by the Holy Spirit, they spoke
- 52:57in other tongues. If you're in it today and you've
- 53:02not received the Holy Spirit, today can be the
- 53:06day. And they spoke in other tongues as the Spirit
- 53:13gave utterance, as the Spirit empowered. So I
- 53:18want you guys to trust right now that the Holy
- 53:22Spirit is going to empower you. And I want you
- 53:25to pray out loud. And as the Holy Spirit gives
- 53:28you the words to pray, it's going to see foreign
- 53:30to you. But I want you to pray in other tongues.
- 53:35Can we do that? I believe God wants to do that
- 53:37in this place. Dear Heavenly Father, I will start
- 53:45singing right now, God, we seek you. Oh we seek
- 53:48you. Oh God we come to you in the mighty name
- 53:51of Jesus. We come to you in the name that is
- 53:55greater than any other name. In Jesus we know
- 54:00about this baptism, the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
- 54:04And dear God in your word we know that Jesus
- 54:06is the baptizer. So God I pray right now that
- 54:11you baptize young ladies in the Holy Spirit.
- 54:14That you baptize young men in the Holy Spirit.
- 54:16And God that you will just put a spirit of revival
- 54:19on this church. That you'll put a spirit of revival
- 54:22in this house. Oh let's lift them up church.
- 54:25Let's start giving them praise. If you're ready
- 54:26for that revival. God I pray that the people
- 54:29in these pews that they find the purpose in their
- 54:32life. That God they might once been like a Peter.
- 54:34They may once be the nine. God I pray for the
- 54:37young man that's running away. That he surrenders
- 54:40his heart to you God. I pray for the young lady.
- 54:43I pray for the couple that married. is about
- 54:45to break. They're gonna pray that your healing
- 54:47and revival is in that marriage. Oh, let's pray
- 54:50in the Holy Spirit Church.
