- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello, friends from across the nation and around the world.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I'm Martin, and you are listening to a special weekend
- 0:12Speaker 1: compilation episode of Dad's Bedtime Stories. We're gonna head back
- 0:18Speaker 1: into the summer Camp planet to finish up some of
- 0:22Speaker 1: our compilations. I believe we're gonna start with let's see
- 0:28Speaker 1: here some sort of super Hero Summer Camp or Superhero
- 0:34Speaker 1: Gardening summer Camp, because that's an episode I made at
- 0:39Speaker 1: some point, and we're gonna follow that up with Survival Camp.
- 0:46Speaker 1: If you have a suggestion for a compilation episode or
- 0:50Speaker 1: kind of any idea for Dad's Bedtime Stories, just you know,
- 0:54Speaker 1: leave me a message on Spotify, or send me a
- 0:58Speaker 1: message on speak pipe where you can leave voice messages,
- 1:02Speaker 1: or fill out the Google for or more. Email me
- 1:05Speaker 1: yet Dad about Bedtime Stories at gmail dot com. Honestly,
- 1:10Speaker 1: any of it works. But now a possible word from
- 1:16Speaker 1: a possible sponsor, followed by two full stories without any
- 1:21Speaker 1: commercial breaks at all, it's time to close your eyes,
- 1:27Speaker 1: get as comfy as you can in that bed, and
- 1:30Speaker 1: imagine yourself doing what the kid in the story does.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Imagine yourself waking up on spaceship, Oh, your boring spaceship
- 1:44Speaker 1: you say, good morning, anything fun to do today? You ask, Unfortunately,
- 1:54Speaker 1: we are currently traveling to a distant planet that I
- 1:59Speaker 1: believe if you will love to check out. However, the
- 2:05Speaker 1: journey there should be very long. You have several days
- 2:10Speaker 1: to kill before we get there. Several days. Ah, well,
- 2:18Speaker 1: maybe I could go back to the Summer Camp Planet.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Then you suggest, I thought you might want.
- 2:26Speaker 2: To do that.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Activating portal. Now, a little door in the floor opens up,
- 2:34Speaker 1: and out of it rises a huge circular portal. The
- 2:39Speaker 1: portal lights up a bright blue color that looks kind
- 2:44Speaker 1: of like energy water. Don't forget your things, Spaceship says,
- 2:52Speaker 1: as a long robotic arm shoots out of the side
- 2:56Speaker 1: of the ship carrying a large Duffel bag. Spaceship places
- 3:01Speaker 1: the Duffel bag down beside you. You grab a hold
- 3:06Speaker 1: of it, and then you jump through the portal. You
- 3:11Speaker 1: find yourself in a large, colorful tunnel, flying straight through
- 3:17Speaker 1: the center. As the tunnel turns left and right, up
- 3:22Speaker 1: and down like a super cool water slide. Then you
- 3:28Speaker 1: see another circle of liquid water at the end, fly
- 3:33Speaker 1: through it and find yourself behind the same tree in
- 3:39Speaker 1: the main parking lot of the Summer Camp Planet. As
- 3:43Speaker 1: you've done before. You walk towards the main building, open
- 3:49Speaker 1: up the door, and you're immediately greeted by some of
- 3:54Speaker 1: the Sails team on the summer camp Planet Wilcombe.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I believe I've seen you before.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Let me check the database, the woman types on a computer.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Oh. Yes, you are prepaid for any summer camp you
- 4:16Speaker 2: would like to attend. Do you have anything in mind
- 4:22Speaker 2: for today? You think, for a second, where do I
- 4:27Speaker 2: want to go? Wait a second, my friend, Pip, I,
- 4:33Speaker 2: where's he these days? You ask?
- 4:37Speaker 1: I'll search the dirtabase, the woman says, as she types
- 4:42Speaker 1: away on a keyboard. A yes, Pip, I believe he
- 4:48Speaker 1: is currently attending the super Hero Gardening Camp. The Superhero
- 4:55Speaker 1: Gardening Camp.
- 4:57Speaker 2: What's that? Oh? It is a very popular camp, though
- 5:03Speaker 2: named somewhat strangely. The super Hero Gardening Camp is a
- 5:10Speaker 2: camp full of all sorts of different fruits. Each one
- 5:16Speaker 2: gives you a specially created super power for a limited time. Anyways,
- 5:26Speaker 2: you get to explore different powers and grow different kinds
- 5:33Speaker 2: of super fruit. It is a jolly good time. I say, uh, okay.
- 5:40Speaker 1: You say I want to go to the super Hero
- 5:44Speaker 1: Gardening Camp. Understood Communicating with a shuttle now on the
- 5:52Speaker 1: other side of the main building, there's a little platform
- 5:57Speaker 1: kind of like a train platform. A futuristic space shuttle
- 6:03Speaker 1: sort of thing flies down and lands on it. There's
- 6:08Speaker 1: your ride, the woman says, pointing towards the high tech
- 6:14Speaker 1: looking shuttle.
- 6:16Speaker 2: You walk across.
- 6:18Speaker 1: The gigantic main building to the other side with the
- 6:22Speaker 1: little platform area. You climb aboard the shuttle, place your
- 6:28Speaker 1: bag on the ground, and strap yourself in one of
- 6:32Speaker 1: the seats. The shuttle lifts up off the ground and
- 6:38Speaker 1: shoots out across the summer camp planet once again. Once again,
- 6:45Speaker 1: you're amazed as you look below you at all of
- 6:49Speaker 1: the different kinds of summer camps that exist here. You
- 6:53Speaker 1: pass over one that looks like it's a giant water
- 6:57Speaker 1: slide camp of some kind, at least something like that.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Before long, the shuttle slowly begins to lower itself down
- 7:08Speaker 1: to what you can only assume is the superhero gardening camp.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Your assumptions are pretty much confirmed by looking around the
- 7:20Speaker 1: camp and watching kids of all different shapes and sizes
- 7:25Speaker 1: trying out various different superpowers. Kids in one corner are
- 7:31Speaker 1: creating flames from their hands and shooting them at targets.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Kids in another area are well practicing what looks like
- 7:41Speaker 1: super strength throwing gigantic boulders as far as they possibly can.
- 7:48Speaker 1: And of course there's kids all over the camp, just
- 7:51Speaker 1: kind of flying around with superflight abilities. The ship lands
- 7:57Speaker 1: in the back hatch opens up. You one buckle, grab
- 8:02Speaker 1: your duffel bag and walk down once again. Sure enough,
- 8:07Speaker 1: you see a familiar face, your friend Pip.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Oh, they told me you were coming. It's so good
- 8:15Speaker 3: to see you again.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Pip says, it's.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Good to see you. Do well, they said we could
- 8:23Speaker 3: be in the same cabin.
- 8:25Speaker 1: This.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Here's our camp counselor, Rob.
- 8:29Speaker 2: They it's right.
- 8:31Speaker 1: My name is Rob and I'm your counselor for the
- 8:36Speaker 1: super Hero Garden in Camp. Come with me. Rob and
- 8:42Speaker 1: Pip lead you to your summer camp cabin as it
- 8:48Speaker 1: normally does. It looks like a pretty normal summer camp cabin,
- 8:53Speaker 1: a large room with a whole bunch of bunk beds
- 8:56Speaker 1: spread around the outside. You find to bunk bed next
- 9:01Speaker 1: to Pips, throw your stuff on it and turn around. Well,
- 9:07Speaker 1: are you too ready for our first adventure? Let's go
- 9:12Speaker 1: explore some of the superpowers here on the Superpower Garden
- 9:19Speaker 1: and Camp. Oh my, goodness, you're gonna love this so much.
- 9:25Speaker 1: There's all sorts of superpowers you can get. Come on,
- 9:29Speaker 1: let's go check it out.
- 9:31Speaker 4: You.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Rob and Pip leave the cabin and walk down a trail,
- 9:37Speaker 1: a trail that leads you through the woods to a
- 9:41Speaker 1: forest of very interesting looking fruit. The trees here are
- 9:48Speaker 1: full of blue apple looking things that, instead of hanging
- 9:54Speaker 1: from the trees, seem to sort of pull the trees upward.
- 10:01Speaker 1: They float above the branches as if they're trying to
- 10:04Speaker 1: lift the tree into the air. Now we find that
- 10:09Speaker 1: one of the first things most campers want to do
- 10:14Speaker 1: is learn how to fly. This here is our flat
- 10:19Speaker 1: tree forest. Now, after we do some general plant maintenance,
- 10:27Speaker 1: our reward will be well the power of flight. Rob
- 10:34Speaker 1: starts to show you how the well flight apple trees
- 10:40Speaker 1: prefer to be taken care of, how to water them,
- 10:44Speaker 1: how to spread a little bit of special flight tree
- 10:48Speaker 1: fertilizer around, and how to check on the various fruits.
- 10:55Speaker 1: After working together to ensure the trees in the area
- 10:59Speaker 1: whereas healthy as they could be, providing them with lots
- 11:03Speaker 1: of water and food, Rob announces that it's now time
- 11:10Speaker 1: to show you how to pick the fruit. Now, most apples,
- 11:16Speaker 1: when you pick them, you take the bottom of the
- 11:19Speaker 1: apple and you kind of point it up towards the sky.
- 11:24Speaker 1: That breaks the thing off nice and easy. But these
- 11:29Speaker 1: here apples are the opposite. You're gonna take the apple
- 11:35Speaker 1: and kind of twist the bottom of it so it's
- 11:38Speaker 1: pointing at the ground instead of up at the sky.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Like this, Rob walks over to one of the shorter
- 11:47Speaker 1: apple trees. He grabs a hold of one of the apples,
- 11:52Speaker 1: which is sort of floating bottom up towards the sky,
- 11:56Speaker 1: and he twists it down towards the ground. Sure enough,
- 12:01Speaker 1: the apple easily breaks off. Then you gotta have a bat.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Rob starts chomping away on the apple, and then he
- 12:14Speaker 1: begins to float into the air. This is still one
- 12:19Speaker 1: of my favorite powers. Rob says, dry some you and
- 12:25Speaker 1: Pip both walk over to the flying apple tree. You
- 12:30Speaker 1: grab a hold of an apple, twist it down, and
- 12:34Speaker 1: then you take a bite. Strangely, the apple tastes like
- 12:39Speaker 1: a blueberry apple or something like that, But as you swallow,
- 12:47Speaker 1: a very interesting tingling sensation starts to shoot through your
- 12:52Speaker 1: arms and your legs, and then well you start to
- 12:58Speaker 1: sort of flow in the air. You finish eating the
- 13:03Speaker 1: apple and you try to get a hang.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Of this power. How do you control it?
- 13:12Speaker 1: You say, as you just sort of continue to float upward,
- 13:16Speaker 1: waving your arms and legs around.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Well, it's sort of hard.
- 13:22Speaker 1: To explain, but you should have a bit of a
- 13:26Speaker 1: new sense, lack a muscle you didn't have before, one
- 13:32Speaker 1: that allows you to push forward or backward, or up
- 13:37Speaker 1: and down. I think of it as a flat core.
- 13:42Speaker 1: You close your eyes and try to focus for a second,
- 13:47Speaker 1: and sure enough, you do feel something different. You hold
- 13:53Speaker 1: on to that feeling using your mind, and you push
- 13:57Speaker 1: it down towards the ground. Sure enough, that shoots you
- 14:02Speaker 1: up into the air. The harder you push towards the ground,
- 14:08Speaker 1: the further up you fly. You find that you can
- 14:12Speaker 1: sort of shift this new sense, making you turn left
- 14:17Speaker 1: and right, up and down. Before long, you Pip and
- 14:23Speaker 1: Rob are zooming through the sky, flying high above the
- 14:30Speaker 1: wel superhero gardening camp. You start by flying in wide
- 14:36Speaker 1: open spaces, turning left and right with ease, feeling the
- 14:42Speaker 1: wind press against your skin. You try to do a
- 14:48Speaker 1: couple loops and somersaults and twirls. It's amazing to feel
- 14:54Speaker 1: this free. You look down at the camp below you,
- 14:59Speaker 1: and you see other people flying around as well. Some
- 15:04Speaker 1: of them are sort of dodging beneath the trees or
- 15:08Speaker 1: between them. I should say you try that out too.
- 15:13Speaker 1: You and Pip fly down towards a nearby forest and
- 15:18Speaker 1: begin zigzagging between the trees left and right, left and right,
- 15:26Speaker 1: then again up into the air. Flying makes you feel
- 15:31Speaker 1: so incredibly free. After a while, you just sort of
- 15:37Speaker 1: start to slowly drift down towards the ground. You try
- 15:44Speaker 1: to use your flight sense to push yourself up again,
- 15:48Speaker 1: but it just doesn't work. You gently float down like
- 15:53Speaker 1: a leaf falling from a tree until you land on
- 15:57Speaker 1: the ground once again. Well I should have explained that
- 16:03Speaker 1: all of these powers only work for a limited time.
- 16:08Speaker 1: That's about all you get with the flight apples. Now
- 16:12Speaker 1: we can eat some more, or we can go check
- 16:16Speaker 1: out some other superpowers. Rob says, let's see what else
- 16:22Speaker 1: there is, all right, Actually, we've landed pretty near to
- 16:29Speaker 1: one of my favorite powers. Come over here. Rob leads
- 16:36Speaker 1: you down another forest trail until you come to another
- 16:41Speaker 1: set of trees that are full of well, super pears.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Pears that look a lot tougher and a lot bigger
- 16:52Speaker 1: than a normal pear. These here are strength pears. Now
- 16:58Speaker 1: you pick a much the same way you pick an apple,
- 17:02Speaker 1: twisting him up towards the sky. Rob demonstrates as he
- 17:07Speaker 1: grabs a hold of a pear. You and Pip both
- 17:11Speaker 1: get your own. Then you each take a bite. The
- 17:16Speaker 1: pears are absolutely delicious, and it doesn't take you long
- 17:22Speaker 1: to completely finish yours. When you're done, a different kind
- 17:28Speaker 1: of tingling sensation starts to pass through your arms and legs,
- 17:33Speaker 1: and suddenly your muscles start to bulge, kind of like
- 17:39Speaker 1: you're flexing every muscle in your body at once. But
- 17:44Speaker 1: the sensation continues and it gets stronger and stronger and stronger,
- 17:51Speaker 1: until you feel like you could lift up absolutely anything
- 17:58Speaker 1: in the world.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Now, Rob says.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Come on and test this out. He leads you off
- 18:07Speaker 1: to the side of the forest to an area of
- 18:11Speaker 1: gigantic round boulders. He grabs a hold of one of
- 18:16Speaker 1: the boulders, easily lifts it up over his head and
- 18:21Speaker 1: throws it as far as he can. The thing flies
- 18:25Speaker 1: high into the air and arcs down, eventually crashing into
- 18:31Speaker 1: a big open field full of other boulders. Give it
- 18:36Speaker 1: a try. Let's see which of you can.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Throw the boulder, the furthest.
- 18:43Speaker 1: You walk up to one of the boulders, you grab
- 18:48Speaker 1: it on either side with your hands, and strangely, you
- 18:53Speaker 1: accidentally crush the side of it a little bit, making
- 18:57Speaker 1: parts break off. WHA, I'm going to have to be
- 19:01Speaker 1: really careful when i have this power on, you think.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You lift the boulder back over top of you and
- 19:10Speaker 1: then fling it as far and as hard as you
- 19:12Speaker 1: can into the air. The boulder shoots up into the sky,
- 19:18Speaker 1: arcs down and crashes into the ground. You look over
- 19:23Speaker 1: at Pip, the once wimpy sort of looking kid, now
- 19:28Speaker 1: has well muscles. He grabs a hold of the boulder,
- 19:33Speaker 1: spins around on the ground, and uses the momentum to
- 19:38Speaker 1: throw the boulder even higher up into the air than
- 19:42Speaker 1: you could. It flies past both your boulder and robs
- 19:48Speaker 1: and crashes into the ground behind. I've sort of done
- 19:53Speaker 1: this before, Pip says, I told you, I go on
- 19:57Speaker 1: a tour of camps every summer. That's amazing. What else
- 20:03Speaker 1: can we do with this super strength? Well, we do
- 20:07Speaker 1: find that some of our campers want to test out
- 20:11Speaker 1: their new might against something kind of challenging, and that's
- 20:17Speaker 1: why we have this robot battle arena right here. Rob
- 20:22Speaker 1: points to the side and you suddenly see a gigantic
- 20:26Speaker 1: circular cage that you never noticed before. Inside it are
- 20:32Speaker 1: a bunch of robots lined up against the wall. We
- 20:36Speaker 1: get these things from the Robot battle camp. You can
- 20:41Speaker 1: decide how many you want to fight at once.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Watch this.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Rob says as he steps into the arena. I think
- 20:52Speaker 1: I could take on five of you guys. He announces,
- 20:57Speaker 1: and suddenly five of the robot on the outskirts of
- 21:01Speaker 1: the battleground activate and walk forward. One by one, they
- 21:07Speaker 1: begin to run towards Rob. Rob swings a fist and
- 21:14Speaker 1: breaks apart one of the robots into thousands of pieces.
- 21:19Speaker 1: As the next one attacks, he kicks it with his leg,
- 21:23Speaker 1: a perfect front kick that leaves the robot flying in
- 21:27Speaker 1: the other direction in multiple pieces as well. As the
- 21:33Speaker 1: next robot runs it, rob he meets it head on,
- 21:38Speaker 1: and I mean head on. He lifts his whole body
- 21:42Speaker 1: up into the air, pulls back his head, and as
- 21:46Speaker 1: he lands on the ground, he smashes the robot apart
- 21:51Speaker 1: using his forehead. The entire thing is absolutely obliterated, broken
- 21:59Speaker 1: into and thousands of pieces on the ground. As the
- 22:04Speaker 1: next two robots attack at once. He grabs them out
- 22:09Speaker 1: of the air, breaking apart their chest pieces as he
- 22:13Speaker 1: grabs on. Then he takes a robot in each hand
- 22:19Speaker 1: and smashes it together. The robots break into thousands of pieces,
- 22:25Speaker 1: and rob is victorious. He walks back out of the
- 22:30Speaker 1: battle area and says, nah, Rad, that was a lot
- 22:34Speaker 1: of fun.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Your turn.
- 22:37Speaker 1: You and Pip enter the battle arena. This could be
- 22:42Speaker 1: a lot of fun. You say, now, how many robots
- 22:47Speaker 1: would you like to take on? Let's just start with two.
- 22:52Speaker 1: I've never done this before. You say, all right, I
- 22:57Speaker 1: can add more after if you won't. Two robots activate
- 23:02Speaker 1: and begin to walk forward. They each take on a
- 23:06Speaker 1: fighting stance, and then they jump into the air. Pips
- 23:12Speaker 1: robot launching a flying kick, and yours a flying punch.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Neither of you are exactly sure what to do, and
- 23:23Speaker 1: the robots connect with both of their attacks. Strangely, you
- 23:29Speaker 1: don't feel anything. It's as if the robot just punched
- 23:34Speaker 1: a stone wall as hard as it could. You grab
- 23:39Speaker 1: onto the robot's arm, break it away from your chest,
- 23:44Speaker 1: and then strike it with your palm as hard as
- 23:47Speaker 1: you can. To your surprise, the center of the robot
- 23:52Speaker 1: goes flying and hitting the back of the cage, while
- 23:56Speaker 1: the rest of the robot still stands in front of
- 23:59Speaker 1: you until it collapses into pieces on the ground. Pip
- 24:05Speaker 1: lifts up his robot and throws it as well, smashing
- 24:10Speaker 1: it against the cage. I feel invincible. Let's try some more,
- 24:16Speaker 1: you say, and Rob activates more robots. Robot after robots
- 24:23Speaker 1: starts running towards you, and Robot after Robot gets smashed
- 24:29Speaker 1: into thousands and thousands of pieces. It turns out that
- 24:34Speaker 1: battling robots with super strength is actually kind of relaxing
- 24:39Speaker 1: for some reason.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Malad.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Then let's go check out some of the other things
- 24:46Speaker 1: and take care of them.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Rob leads you on.
- 24:51Speaker 1: A tour through the Superhero gardening camp. You see all
- 24:57Speaker 1: kinds of different plants and bushes, each one with the
- 25:02Speaker 1: ability to give you different powers ice, blueberries, fire strawberries,
- 25:10Speaker 1: and as you go you take your turn caring for
- 25:14Speaker 1: the plants themselves.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Each section of the.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Camp has its own caretaker who knows how to care
- 25:22Speaker 1: for that special plant, and you and Pip join in
- 25:28Speaker 1: watering the plants, caring for them, planting new plants out
- 25:34Speaker 1: of the seeds of the old. It's actually a pretty
- 25:38Speaker 1: good time man. That brings us to one of the
- 25:42Speaker 1: highlights of Superhero Garden in Camp, the chance to build
- 25:49Speaker 1: a plant of your very own with a super power
- 25:55Speaker 1: of your very choosing. Rob says, follow me to the
- 26:02Speaker 1: plant laboratory. Rob leads you into a large white building
- 26:09Speaker 1: that's down by the mess hall. Inside you see cubicle
- 26:15Speaker 1: after cubicle with other kids working in little lab coats
- 26:22Speaker 1: talking to computers, planting seeds into dirt and putting them
- 26:28Speaker 1: into some sort of interesting chamber that allows the plant
- 26:32Speaker 1: to grow really quickly.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Now in this lab.
- 26:38Speaker 1: You can work beside an advanced artificial intelligence that has
- 26:44Speaker 1: been programmed with different alien species from throughout the universe.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Your job is to come up with the kind of
- 26:56Speaker 1: plant you want to create, and the artificial intelligence will
- 27:02Speaker 1: help engineer a plant or a plant seed anyways, based
- 27:10Speaker 1: on what you want. It sort of takes the genetic
- 27:15Speaker 1: information it has about different alien species and implants it.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Into a seed.
- 27:24Speaker 1: You can then work with some of our gardening experts
- 27:27Speaker 1: to turn that into a plant. Our incubation chambers allow
- 27:33Speaker 1: the plants to grow at rapid speed as long as
- 27:38Speaker 1: you create something that we don't considered to be an
- 27:42Speaker 1: existential threat to the universe or others back wherever you
- 27:48Speaker 1: came from. We'll let you take it home, care for
- 27:53Speaker 1: the plant, and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Will
- 28:00Speaker 1: be your workstation, Rob says.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Again.
- 28:06Speaker 1: You find a workstation with a large computer with a
- 28:10Speaker 1: little computerized face on it, something that looks a lot
- 28:15Speaker 1: like a three D printer, a whole bunch of pots
- 28:19Speaker 1: and dirt and water, and an incubation chamber. Hello, the
- 28:27Speaker 1: computer says, what would you like to create? I'll leave
- 28:33Speaker 1: you do it, Rob says, and then he walks away.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Uh what can we create? You ask? My data banks
- 28:44Speaker 1: are full of all sorts of interesting alien life forms.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Would you like to explore some of them? The computer asks, Uh?
- 28:56Speaker 2: Sure?
- 28:57Speaker 1: What sort of power? Were you thinking? Perhaps invisibility or
- 29:04Speaker 1: the ability to manipulate one of the elements of the planet.
- 29:11Speaker 1: The computer says, do you think it would be possible
- 29:16Speaker 1: to make some sort of teleporting power?
- 29:20Speaker 2: You ask?
- 29:22Speaker 1: Searching data banks? Now interesting, there is one species, a
- 29:30Speaker 1: species of quantum teleporting frogs that seem to have the
- 29:36Speaker 1: ability to shift their existence from one point in the
- 29:41Speaker 1: universe to another. Would you like me to create this?
- 29:47Speaker 1: And merge it with some sort of seed. The computer asks, Uh, yeah, excellent,
- 29:56Speaker 1: what type of fruit would you like to create?
- 30:01Speaker 2: Well, uh, maybe.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Some strawberries, you suggest, looking over at Pip, who just
- 30:07Speaker 1: kind of shrugs his shoulders. Understood infusing genetic information from
- 30:15Speaker 1: Quantum teleporting frogs into strawberry seed. You watch as the
- 30:22Speaker 1: three D printer like device starts to activate, Light shoots
- 30:27Speaker 1: out of it, and bit by bit, two tiny strawberry
- 30:33Speaker 1: seeds are created. Finished creating, Now it's time to plant
- 30:40Speaker 1: the seeds. You and Pip both take one of the seeds.
- 30:45Speaker 1: You grab a little pot, fill it up with dirt,
- 30:50Speaker 1: water it a bit, and plant the seed inside activating
- 30:56Speaker 1: incubation chamber. Please place the plants inside. You and Pip
- 31:03Speaker 1: open up the door to the incubation chamber and place
- 31:08Speaker 1: the two pods with dirt and seeds inside it, and
- 31:13Speaker 1: you close the door. The chamber activates a light which
- 31:19Speaker 1: kind of mimics the light of the sun appears above,
- 31:23Speaker 1: and the chamber starts to hum with energy. Soon, at
- 31:30Speaker 1: some sort of accelerated speed, you see the strawberry seeds sprouting,
- 31:37Speaker 1: then growing. Then little flowers appear, and the flowers start
- 31:43Speaker 1: to turn into strawberries. When the incubation chamber beeps, the
- 31:50Speaker 1: plants are fully grown. You open up the door and
- 31:56Speaker 1: you and Pip both pull out your strawberry plants, complete
- 32:01Speaker 1: with quite a few strawberries each. Well, Pip, you think
- 32:06Speaker 1: we should try them. You ask, I, I will if.
- 32:11Speaker 2: You do, Pip says.
- 32:14Speaker 1: You place the strawberries on the counter, you each pick
- 32:18Speaker 1: one out and you take a bite. Now, the strawberries
- 32:25Speaker 1: are very delicious, but the sensation that they cause throughout
- 32:31Speaker 1: your body is kind of hard to define. It's a
- 32:35Speaker 1: sensation of being less solid, less well, less in existence
- 32:44Speaker 1: than you're used to. You never really noticed how your
- 32:48Speaker 1: body felt so firmly planted in reality before until now,
- 32:55Speaker 1: when it no longer felt that way. Your mind started
- 32:59Speaker 1: to wander around the area from place to police. You
- 33:05Speaker 1: think about the flying apple trees, and suddenly you find
- 33:10Speaker 1: yourself in between them. You think about the super strength
- 33:17Speaker 1: pear trees, and in an instant, you're there as well. Next,
- 33:24Speaker 1: you think for a second about spaceship where exactly is he?
- 33:29Speaker 1: And the answer is given to you as you appear
- 33:34Speaker 1: on the middle of the ship. You look over and
- 33:38Speaker 1: find changer in the form of some sort of alien
- 33:42Speaker 1: you've never seen before, and spaceship or the spaceship robot
- 33:50Speaker 1: sitting down on the couch, watching Netflix and drinking some
- 33:56Speaker 1: sort of drink. Clearly they got up to some interesting
- 34:01Speaker 1: things when you're not around, But just as quickly as
- 34:04Speaker 1: you see it, you appear back at the summer camp planet.
- 34:11Speaker 1: You decide to use your new power to explore a
- 34:15Speaker 1: little bit. When Pip appears beside you, you make a suggestion,
- 34:21Speaker 1: I want to go check out some of the other
- 34:23Speaker 1: summer camps. Quickly, you ask, uh, okay, I guess it
- 34:29Speaker 1: couldn't hurt anything. Pip says, I want to lead the way.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Pip asks, okay. You step over and place your hand
- 34:40Speaker 1: on Pip's shoulder. Maybe that'll allow you to both teleport
- 34:44Speaker 1: to the same place. Then you close your rise and
- 34:48Speaker 1: you think about some of the different places you've seen
- 34:52Speaker 1: on your way to this summer camp or one of
- 34:55Speaker 1: the others. You reappear at the Water Slide Camp MP.
- 35:01Speaker 1: As you look around, you see an intricate set of
- 35:05Speaker 1: slides going in all different directions. Kids happily running up
- 35:10Speaker 1: giant staircases, sliding down on large tubes, and generally having
- 35:18Speaker 1: a good time. This place looks awesome. Let's see what
- 35:22Speaker 1: else there is. You close your eyes and again you
- 35:26Speaker 1: reappear in a pile of garbage. You look around, and
- 35:34Speaker 1: there aren't many campers to see. All you see is
- 35:38Speaker 1: a giant landfill. Maybe this is where they put all
- 35:43Speaker 1: their garbage. This can't possibly be a summer camp, can it,
- 35:48Speaker 1: you say, as you look around at the trash, But strangely,
- 35:54Speaker 1: you do notice a few campers and a camp counselor
- 35:59Speaker 1: digging through the piles of trash. It's not your idea
- 36:04Speaker 1: of a summer camp, but it could be kind of cool.
- 36:09Speaker 1: You close your eyes again and you reappear on a
- 36:14Speaker 1: summer camp where all of the buildings look like they're
- 36:18Speaker 1: made of chocolate. Amazing, But the ground is covered in
- 36:24Speaker 1: something strange.
- 36:26Speaker 2: It is that coffee on the.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Ground, you ask, And then as you take a step forward,
- 36:33Speaker 1: you slip, fall towards the ground and instantly disappear, reappearing
- 36:40Speaker 1: again in a well. A pile of clouds pit appears
- 36:47Speaker 1: beside you, and the cloud lifts up off of the ground.
- 36:53Speaker 1: For some reason, it's solid, and you find yourself surrounded
- 36:59Speaker 1: by their campers, just sleeping on their own clouds drifting
- 37:04Speaker 1: up into the air, floating around lazily. Your watch beeps,
- 37:12Speaker 1: indicating that whoa, it's way past bedtime. We need to
- 37:17Speaker 1: get back to camp, you say. You place your hand
- 37:22Speaker 1: on Pip's shoulder again, close your eyes, and reappear standing
- 37:28Speaker 1: in front. If you're teleporting strawberry plants, you and Pip
- 37:33Speaker 1: each grab a hold of them. I'll meet you back
- 37:36Speaker 1: at the cabin, you say, and with that you disappear,
- 37:42Speaker 1: reappearing right in front of your bunk. You place the
- 37:47Speaker 1: little strawberry plant down on a shelf beside the bunk,
- 37:52Speaker 1: climb into bed, and Pip soon appears and does the same.
- 37:58Speaker 1: This is so cool, Oh, I can't wait to try
- 38:02Speaker 1: out other powers. As you lay in the bed, you
- 38:07Speaker 1: feel the teleportation power start to fade, and once again
- 38:13Speaker 1: you feel more solid. You pull the covers up to
- 38:18Speaker 1: your chin, close your eyes, and lay your head back
- 38:24Speaker 1: on the soft pillow. With each breath, you begin to
- 38:31Speaker 1: sink down deeper into the comfortable mattress as you release
- 38:37Speaker 1: all of the tension from your arms and legs, and
- 38:43Speaker 1: the more you breathe, the deeper you sink, the more
- 38:49Speaker 1: relaxed your muscles become. And the more your mind begins
- 38:55Speaker 1: to wander off to thoughts of new dreams and new
- 39:01Speaker 1: adventures to come. Good night everyone. You wake up the
- 39:08Speaker 1: next morning inside your very own log cabin. You and
- 39:15Speaker 1: Pip quickly run outside to greet the other villagers. You
- 39:20Speaker 1: watch as they begin to make their way out of
- 39:23Speaker 1: their very own cabins, sit around the campfire and cook
- 39:29Speaker 1: some breakfast. You walk over and sit down with them. Wow,
- 39:36Speaker 1: good morning, Bill says, Good morning Bill. What else can
- 39:41Speaker 1: we do to get this camp going? You ask, well,
- 39:46Speaker 1: we're gonna need a number of things, starting with a
- 39:52Speaker 1: storage area. Man. So you, Pip, Bill, and Edna get
- 39:59Speaker 1: to work building the storage area, a place where food
- 40:04Speaker 1: and water and other supplies can be stored for the
- 40:07Speaker 1: villagers to use. When that's done, it's time to build
- 40:13Speaker 1: a place to make better meals. Then it's time to
- 40:17Speaker 1: build a blacksmith forge. Then, of course, you need to
- 40:22Speaker 1: build new houses and shelters to have more villagers come
- 40:27Speaker 1: and work in those stations. You, Pip, Bill, and Edna
- 40:33Speaker 1: spend day after day building the town up, until you
- 40:38Speaker 1: soon have hundreds of workers. You have houses and farms,
- 40:46Speaker 1: seamstresses and crafters, wood cutters, miners, and even fishermen and hunters.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Once the town is pretty much built up and you
- 41:00Speaker 1: have all the right people working in it, you spend
- 41:04Speaker 1: days just kind of living for a living, gathering water,
- 41:10Speaker 1: eating food, caring for animals, tending crops, talking to others.
- 41:18Speaker 1: It's actually a really good time, but it does eventually
- 41:24Speaker 1: start to feel like it might be time for something new.
- 41:28Speaker 1: After spending about a week at Pioneer Camp and building
- 41:34Speaker 1: a extremely impressive village for that amount of time, you
- 41:40Speaker 1: and Pip go to see Bill and Edna. Guys, this
- 41:45Speaker 1: has been really fun. We actually kind of thought this
- 41:49Speaker 1: camp would be terrible, but we soon realized it. It's amazing.
- 41:54Speaker 1: The thing is, I think we're kind of ready to
- 41:57Speaker 1: move on. You say, ah, I thought this would happen.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Bill says, oh, also, we got a message from headquarters.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Apparently you two have been on the waiting list for
- 42:11Speaker 1: some sort of survival camp. Well, it turns out it's
- 42:17Speaker 1: ready to go. The helicopter's coming shortly. Helicopter, you say, man.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Then you hear a thundering sort of sound. Helicopter bleeds.
- 42:35Speaker 1: A helicopter's shadow appears on the ground, and you look
- 42:40Speaker 1: up to see two men dressed in army outfits lowering
- 42:45Speaker 1: themselves down on large ropes. All right, it's time to
- 42:50Speaker 1: come with us, one of the men says. You will
- 42:53Speaker 1: be dropped off at the secret survival camp location. Gather
- 42:59Speaker 1: your things immediately, the man orders. So you and Pip
- 43:05Speaker 1: head to your cabins, pack up your duffel bags, and
- 43:10Speaker 1: walk back to where the soldiers are standing on the
- 43:12Speaker 1: ground holding their ropes. One of the soldiers holds another
- 43:18Speaker 1: rope out towards you, a rope with some sort of
- 43:22Speaker 1: harness on it. The harness immediately wraps around your body
- 43:27Speaker 1: like automatically, and the rope begins to pull you up
- 43:32Speaker 1: into the air. The soldiers make their way back up
- 43:37Speaker 1: as well, and then help pull you into the helicopter.
- 43:42Speaker 1: The helicopter quickly takes off, flies far over the different
- 43:48Speaker 1: Pioneer villages of Pioneer Camp and off into the distance
- 43:55Speaker 1: over many different summer camps. Some sort of amusement park
- 44:01Speaker 1: camp with a whole bunch of roller coasters, that water
- 44:05Speaker 1: camp you've seen before but never actually been to, and
- 44:11Speaker 1: again a camp that looks like it's just a bunch
- 44:14Speaker 1: of coffee spilled on the ground, and buildings made of chocolate.
- 44:20Speaker 1: No one's hanging out at that camp, and you still
- 44:23Speaker 1: can't figure out why it exists. But soon the helicopter
- 44:28Speaker 1: comes across a new area, an area covered in trees
- 44:33Speaker 1: of all different shapes and sizes. It honestly doesn't look
- 44:40Speaker 1: like a real forest. It's almost too diverse. Trees that
- 44:46Speaker 1: would grow in all different parts of Earth are all
- 44:49Speaker 1: growing together.
- 44:51Speaker 2: It's like a.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Mix between a jungle and a forest, with some alien planets.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Thrown in there.
- 45:00Speaker 1: All right, we are at the destination, the soldier says,
- 45:05Speaker 1: lowering you down the harness, then slowly lowers you and
- 45:11Speaker 1: Pip down towards the ground. It releases, pulls back up
- 45:16Speaker 1: to the helicopter, and the helicopter flies away. You and
- 45:22Speaker 1: Pip find yourself standing in front of a single camp
- 45:27Speaker 1: counselor with well just a pile of stuff. Welcome to
- 45:34Speaker 1: survival camp, the counselor says, my name is Alexander, and
- 45:41Speaker 1: I will be your camp counselor. Uh Hi, Alexander, you
- 45:47Speaker 1: say hi, Pip says as well, raising his hands slightly.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Now in survival camp, the key idea is too, sir,
- 46:01Speaker 1: you have some supplies here a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad,
- 46:07Speaker 1: and basic tools. Each of you will have one multi tool.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I suggest carrying it in your pocket, Alexander says as
- 46:18Speaker 1: he hands both you and Peb a multi tool. This
- 46:23Speaker 1: has knives, saws, drills, magnifying glasses, can openers, and just
- 46:32Speaker 1: about any other tool you could need. Now, it certainly
- 46:38Speaker 1: is not the best knife, and it is not the
- 46:42Speaker 1: best screwdriver, and it is not the best drill. But
- 46:47Speaker 1: in a survival situation, it is your landline. There are
- 46:53Speaker 1: also an assortment of some larger tools, a fold out
- 46:59Speaker 1: saw for some flint and steer, and lots and lots
- 47:07Speaker 1: of paracord. You can never have too much paracord in
- 47:14Speaker 1: a survival situation, Alexander explains. Now there is much to
- 47:21Speaker 1: do in order to have somewhere to sleep tonight. You
- 47:26Speaker 1: will have to first create a shelter. Uh okay, out
- 47:32Speaker 1: of what you ask. Well, you can create the shelter
- 47:38Speaker 1: out of anything you wish, anything you can find. However,
- 47:44Speaker 1: if you want some ideas, I also have a special
- 47:49Speaker 1: survival book for each of you. Alexander then hands you
- 47:54Speaker 1: and Pip little pocket sized books. These books have the
- 48:00Speaker 1: basics of all survival how to create fire, how to
- 48:05Speaker 1: create shelter, how to find and identify different plants. I
- 48:11Speaker 1: highly recommend looking at it before eating almost anything. If
- 48:16Speaker 1: you do not recognize it, it might be poison ivy
- 48:21Speaker 1: or just plain poisonous. Now you will find this forest
- 48:27Speaker 1: to be abundant in almost all things. We specially created
- 48:32Speaker 1: it for a perfect balance. There are many fruits, There
- 48:37Speaker 1: are many naturally occurring vegetables. There is plenty to forage
- 48:43Speaker 1: if you know what you are looking for. There are
- 48:47Speaker 1: many animals in the area as well. Most of them
- 48:52Speaker 1: are wildly friendly. You raise your hand in the air. Yes, you,
- 48:59Speaker 1: the man's says.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Just a quick question.
- 49:04Speaker 1: If you perfectly created this place with all of the
- 49:08Speaker 1: you know, like edible vegetables and all that stuff, why
- 49:11Speaker 1: did you put in poison ivy? You ask, Ah, that
- 49:15Speaker 1: is an excellent question. Survival is no fun if there
- 49:20Speaker 1: is not a little bit of danger, and in this case,
- 49:25Speaker 1: the main danger is poison ivy. If you would like
- 49:30Speaker 1: to see a picture of it, just look at the
- 49:34Speaker 1: index of your book. You flip through the back of
- 49:38Speaker 1: the book until you come to the letter P. You
- 49:42Speaker 1: scan down it and sure enough you find poison ivy.
- 49:46Speaker 1: Page sixty four. You flip to page sixty four and
- 49:51Speaker 1: there's a perfect picture of poison ivy, a single stem,
- 49:57Speaker 1: three leaves, and an explanation that this stuff will leave
- 50:02Speaker 1: you very, very itchy. It explains that it's covered in
- 50:08Speaker 1: some sort of oil that you can't quite pronounce, and
- 50:13Speaker 1: most people's body has an allergic reaction to the stuff,
- 50:17Speaker 1: making them red, itchy and blotchy. It'll certainly be on
- 50:23Speaker 1: the lookout for that. Now, I suggest you pick a
- 50:28Speaker 1: shelter design and get to work. You and Pip start
- 50:33Speaker 1: flipping through your books looking at all of the different
- 50:37Speaker 1: kinds of makeshift shelters. There's like luck cab and style ones,
- 50:44Speaker 1: though those look like they take a lot of work,
- 50:48Speaker 1: and they're sort of a framed ones, and well, the
- 50:53Speaker 1: lean to style of shelter kind of catches your eye.
- 50:58Speaker 1: The forest around you has all sorts of gigantic trees. Pip,
- 51:05Speaker 1: what if we do one of these shelters. We can
- 51:08Speaker 1: lean a whole bunch of branches up against one of
- 51:11Speaker 1: those giant tree trunks and then cover it to keep
- 51:15Speaker 1: us safe from the rain and weather and that sort
- 51:19Speaker 1: of stuff. You suggest, Okay, that seems like a great idea.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Pip responds, and the two of you get to work.
- 51:31Speaker 1: You each grab one of the larger saws and head
- 51:35Speaker 1: off into the forest. You cut down large limbs and
- 51:42Speaker 1: seedling sized trees. You collect already dead branches, and you
- 51:48Speaker 1: bring each one back, leaning it up against the tree,
- 51:53Speaker 1: creating a sort of makeshift roof. When you're done, you
- 51:59Speaker 1: gather branches that are full of leaves and pine needles.
- 52:04Speaker 1: You place them on top of each other to cover
- 52:08Speaker 1: up the shelter, and before long you and Pip stand
- 52:13Speaker 1: proudly in front of the thing. Ah, well this work,
- 52:17Speaker 1: you ask, where Alexander responds, there is only one way
- 52:24Speaker 1: to find out. He lifts up his wrist and starts
- 52:29Speaker 1: pressing buttons on his watch. Then he looks up at
- 52:34Speaker 1: the sky, pulls out an umbrella and opens it up.
- 52:39Speaker 1: The sky quickly darkens Gray's storm clouds form overhead, thunder
- 52:47Speaker 1: and the lightning begin, and you and Pip run into
- 52:53Speaker 1: your shelter.
- 52:54Speaker 3: The rain starts.
- 52:56Speaker 1: At first, the shelter kind of holds up, but as
- 53:00Speaker 1: the rain continues, the shelter begins to leak. Then, as
- 53:06Speaker 1: the wind blows the leaves and branch as you stacked
- 53:11Speaker 1: on top start to sort of blow away. The storm
- 53:16Speaker 1: stops as quickly as it started. Alexander closes his umbrella
- 53:22Speaker 1: and walks over to the two of you, still huddled
- 53:26Speaker 1: underneath the completely broken down shelter. Well, it was a
- 53:31Speaker 1: good attempt, but I suggest you do some deeper research
- 53:36Speaker 1: into the book. You and Pip continue to read through
- 53:41Speaker 1: the book. You read about all sorts of different ways
- 53:46Speaker 1: to reinforce a shelter. One of the ones that looks
- 53:51Speaker 1: kind of appealing to you is well clay. You wonder
- 53:58Speaker 1: if there are any clay depausit. It's around here. You
- 54:02Speaker 1: and Pip go on a search and soon come to
- 54:06Speaker 1: a river bed. Sure enough, on the side of the
- 54:09Speaker 1: river bed is a gigantic depause it of well sand
- 54:15Speaker 1: and clay. You grab handful after a handful of the
- 54:21Speaker 1: clay and walk it over towards your shelter. You continue
- 54:26Speaker 1: until you have a gigantic pile of it. Then you
- 54:30Speaker 1: and Pip fix up the lean to shelter and begin
- 54:35Speaker 1: smearing it and clay filling in all of the gaps
- 54:39Speaker 1: between the sticks.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Very good.
- 54:43Speaker 1: The sun should make that harder before you know it. However, clay,
- 54:49Speaker 1: if not fully hardened, will dissolve in water as well.
- 54:55Speaker 1: I suggest covering your roof in something else. Some bark
- 55:01Speaker 1: can be a good option. To demonstrate this, Alexander walks
- 55:07Speaker 1: over to a tree that's fallen over in the forest.
- 55:11Speaker 1: He uses his multi tool to cut a seam all
- 55:15Speaker 1: the way around it on both sides, then straight down
- 55:19Speaker 1: the middle. He then peels off a gigantic strip of bark.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Watch this, he says. He spreads out the shingle onto
- 55:31Speaker 1: the bottom of the shelter. Then he uses the drill
- 55:35Speaker 1: in his multi tool and starts to drill two holes
- 55:41Speaker 1: through the shingle and into one of the branches, one
- 55:45Speaker 1: on either side. He then grabs a twig that looks
- 55:50Speaker 1: like it's about the right size and hammers it into
- 55:53Speaker 1: the hole, cutting off the access after bark shingles put
- 55:59Speaker 1: on with wooden nails. It is more effective than you
- 56:03Speaker 1: might think. So you and Pip, following his example, begin
- 56:10Speaker 1: to collect more of the bark, cutting it off strip
- 56:13Speaker 1: after strip. Pip works on creating very straight little wooden
- 56:19Speaker 1: sticks about the same size, and you work on drilling
- 56:24Speaker 1: holes through the shingles and into the shelter. It's something
- 56:30Speaker 1: that seems easier than it is. It actually takes a
- 56:33Speaker 1: lot of effort, a lot of turning, a lot of twisting,
- 56:37Speaker 1: and your wrist is kind of sore by the end,
- 56:40Speaker 1: But slowly you and Pip manage to cover the entire
- 56:46Speaker 1: thing in shingles. Very good, Ready for test number two,
- 56:52Speaker 1: Alexander says, pressing buttons on his watch. Again, you and
- 56:57Speaker 1: Pip again run into a little shell helter and hunker
- 57:01Speaker 1: down while rain clouds form above you and the rain
- 57:06Speaker 1: starts to fall. This time, however, you and Pip stay
- 57:12Speaker 1: bone dry. You peek out of the shelter while the
- 57:16Speaker 1: storm's going on. You watch the water fall down on
- 57:21Speaker 1: the shingles and drip from one to the next. Perfect,
- 57:27Speaker 1: you say, Very good, Alexander says. As the storm disappears,
- 57:34Speaker 1: when the sun comes out once again, your shelter is
- 57:39Speaker 1: ready for sleeping in. So you and Pip go about
- 57:45Speaker 1: making some beds or bed frames, stick legs, stick frames,
- 57:52Speaker 1: and sticks all the way across the top. Alexander shows
- 57:58Speaker 1: you how to split a stick in half using a
- 58:01Speaker 1: knife or a hatchet, and you use this technique to
- 58:06Speaker 1: make a nice flat bed surface. You spread out your
- 58:10Speaker 1: sleeping pads and your sleeping bags, and you and Pip
- 58:16Speaker 1: look at your newly finished shelter already for nighttime.
- 58:22Speaker 2: You even create.
- 58:23Speaker 1: A little bit of a makeshift door out of sticks
- 58:27Speaker 1: and wooden nails. It isn't perfect, but it does give
- 58:32Speaker 1: you a sense of safety. Very good. Now it is
- 58:36Speaker 1: time to gather some food. Go out into the forest,
- 58:40Speaker 1: find all you can find, then bring it back here
- 58:45Speaker 1: and we will start a campfire. So you and Pip
- 58:50Speaker 1: head out into the forest once again. The first thing
- 58:54Speaker 1: you come across is kind of hard to miss. A
- 58:58Speaker 1: banana tree, fole of green and yellow bananas surrounding the
- 59:05Speaker 1: banana tree, or a whole bunch of monkeys. Hopefully they're friendly,
- 59:11Speaker 1: you say as you walk up to the tree. H hey, guys,
- 59:17Speaker 1: you mind if we borrow some bananas? A rather curious
- 59:21Speaker 1: monkey walks over to the tree, breaks off a bunch
- 59:26Speaker 1: of bananas, walks over to you, and hands them to you.
- 59:31Speaker 1: You grab a hold of them. Oh, thank you, you say.
- 59:37Speaker 1: The monkey then stares at you, giving you a look
- 59:41Speaker 1: that you somehow know means now, what are you gonna
- 59:45Speaker 1: do with them? You break off a banana, peel it
- 59:50Speaker 1: and take a bite. You nod your head. Good banana,
- 59:56Speaker 1: you say, and the monkey starts to clap. From there,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: you and Pip decide to gather more things. You find apples,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: you find wild leaks, and you come across a very
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: strange looking plant. You flip through your book until you
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: find a matching description, survival potatoes. Apparently these potatoes taste
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: like steak when you cook them over a campfire. I
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: don't think those exist on earth, but I want to
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: try them, you say to Pip. All right, Pip says,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: So the two of you follow the instructions and dig
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: down deep into the dirt. Sure enough, you begin to
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: pull out gigantic and very hearty looking potatoes. You gather berries, strawberries, rasberry,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: as well as some type of wild growing wheat that
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: the book says you can turn into a makeshift bread
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: or bannock of some kind. You bring your bounty back
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: to Alexander and place it in front of him. Ah,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: very good, you have gathered all of the supplies needed.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Now we must start the fire. First. You will need
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: very dry tinder. Try to find anything that will burn well,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: dry bark, dry sticks, and if you can find it,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: some pine sap or tar of some kind. So you
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: and Pip once again head out and start gathering as
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: many sticks and branches as you can possibly find. You
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: also find a pine tree. It looks like it's leaking
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: sap out of the side. You use a stick to
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: scoop up as much of it as you can and
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: kind of rub it off onto a dry piece of bark.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: You bring back all of the sticks and pieces of
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: wood and place them in front of Alexander. Excellent job.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: This will allow us to have clean water and cooked food.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Now what we do is we use the flint and
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: steal Watch this, the man says. When he strikes the
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: flint with a metal striker, some kind a bright spark
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: ignites and flies to the ground. Knocking the flint and
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: the steel together can create very hot pieces of metal.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: If you can get one to land on some tinder
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: or your pine tar, you to be able to start
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: a fire. Now you build the fire up slowly, small
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: sticks first until they are well caught on fire, then
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: larger sticks, and so on. Alexander explains. You bend down
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: and grab a hold of the flint and the steel.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: You create a small little pile of sticks inside a
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: little stone circle that Alexander must have created while you
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: were gathering things. You place the piece of bark with
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: the pine tar on it in the center, and a
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: whole bunch of other things surrounding it. You begin to
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: strike the flint with the steel. It takes a few tries,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: but soon enough a spark flies out and lands directly
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: on the pine sap.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: It starts to smoke.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: Very good, Now blow on it, Alexander says, So you do.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Each time you blow, it starts to glow a bright
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: orange color and smokes a lot, and then it catches
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: on fire. Quickly put the little sticks on, he says.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: And so you start putting the little sticks on. They
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: set on fire too, And you continue to build the
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: fire outwards, starting with the tiniest of sticks, moving up
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: to medium sized sticks, and before very long at all,
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: you get up to full sized sticks. The fire's burning
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: and well doesn't have much of a chance of going
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: out anymore unless one of those gigantic rain clouds appears again.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Very good, Now go get some water. We must boil it,
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Alexander said, as handing you and Pip a large pod.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: Uh why do we have to boil it?
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: You ask, Well, you don't have to boil it, but
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: I recommend boiling it to make sure all things are killed.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: You do not need to get sick in the woods.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: So you and Pip go off towards the lake, scoop
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: up some water and bring it back to Alexander. He's
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: sort of set up a makeshift burner using some stones
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: on the side of the fire. He places the pod
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: there and slowly it starts to simmer. Now, let's see
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: what you have. Oh, my goodness, you've found them, Alexander says,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: the survival potato. This is one of the best things
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: you will have ever eaten. Alexander shows you how to
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: peel the potato using an attachment on your survival tool.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: You then place them on the end of a pointy stick,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: which you also create with your survival tool, and hold
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: them over top of the fire. Soon, the most wonderful
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: smell fills the air, a smell that makes your mouth
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: water and your stomach growl. That should be enough, Alexander says,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Now take a bite once it is cool. Of course,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: you blow on the survival potato and look at it
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: in your hand, turning it from left to right. It
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: actually looks like a steak too, like a like a
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: large potato shaped steak. When it's ready. You take a bite,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: and sure enough it's one of the best things you've
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: ever tasted. These are delicious. You quickly peel more and
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: cook more of them over the fire. You eat until
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: your stomachs are full, and drink plenty of water as well. Now,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: my friends, it is time to go to bed. Have
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: an excellent night, Alexander says as he walks over to
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: a tent that he set up. Why does he get
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: a tent, you wonder, But you and Pip head off
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: into your fort, a place that you kind of want
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: to sleep anyways. You lift up the makeshift stick door
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: and pull it opened. You and Pip both climb into
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: your sleeping bags atop your sleeping pads, and you place
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: your head down on a well a pillow sack full
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: of clothing that you brought with you, a makeshift survival pillow.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: It's surprisingly comfortable, though. You close your eyes and you
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: just listen to the sounds, and you just focus on
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: your breath, noticing your stomach rise and fall with each
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: relaxing breath, until soon you find yourself getting very sleepy,
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: and before you know it, you drift off to a
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: world of new dreams and new adventures to come. Good
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: night everyone, m m M.
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: Never samm.
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: Given more th must mean more.
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: No more name no.
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: More, m.
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: M m M never never, m.
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: M M.
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: More On.
- 1:53:42Speaker 5: Union, no
- 1:56:23Speaker 4: No,
