- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome back. We have now joining us one of the
- 0:13Speaker 1: writers I've known, probably for the the longest time in
- 0:16Speaker 1: my career, Bob Nightingale. I remember Bob when I first
- 0:18Speaker 1: came up. Man If I got mentioned by Bob Nightingale,
- 0:21Speaker 1: I made it in my career, especially being in Minnesota
- 0:25Speaker 1: where nobody talked about us. So it's always an honor
- 0:28Speaker 1: to talk to you. But I want to talk about
- 0:29Speaker 1: your grandma and why you took her to Tahiti once
- 0:32Speaker 1: and how you know how this feeling is like Bryce
- 0:34Speaker 1: Eldridge sitting on the bench, Can you explain this quote
- 0:36Speaker 1: for me please?
- 0:39Speaker 2: That she wasn't quote and you say it's a waste.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I think I referred to all this costa trip to
- 0:45Speaker 3: Tahiti and you're taking your grandmother, not somebody else. Have
- 0:49Speaker 3: you done that forty No, I have not. I haven't
- 0:53Speaker 3: been in Tahiti yet.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Okay, Because there was a Cubs player back in the
- 0:57Speaker 1: day that bought a Ferrari mentioned in Ferrari's didn't realize
- 1:00Speaker 1: A that you had to unleash the parking break so
- 1:02Speaker 1: it would go over like fifty miles an hour, and
- 1:04Speaker 1: b you had to put premium gas in it. Not
- 1:06Speaker 1: going to mention his name. He was a closer for
- 1:08Speaker 1: the Cubs.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:09Speaker 1: He ruined a Ferrari because he didn't realize you had
- 1:12Speaker 1: to put premium gas in it, Bob. So we're not
- 1:14Speaker 1: going to mention his name, though.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I get better.
- 1:18Speaker 3: When the Mania, Ramirez asked clubbies in Cleveland to go
- 1:22Speaker 3: watch his car. He's got some money in the glovebox
- 1:25Speaker 3: and he had twenty five thousand bucks in cash is
- 1:28Speaker 3: laying around.
- 1:31Speaker 1: That's that's changed for That's changed for Kevin Pallar, not
- 1:33Speaker 1: for the rest of us, Bob.
- 1:34Speaker 4: So I was I was gonna say, with that shirt,
- 1:37Speaker 4: you got us fool like you just came back from Tahiti.
- 1:42Speaker 2: My green trip.
- 1:44Speaker 1: All right, Bob, you make enough take you have your
- 1:47Speaker 1: son buy that for you when you retire at some
- 1:49Speaker 1: point you can have Bobby Jr. All right, nice, All right,
- 1:53Speaker 1: Let's get into this Eldrids thing a little bit. We
- 1:55Speaker 1: talked about it yesterday. But you were the guy who
- 1:56Speaker 1: had the great quote, why isn't he playing the Giants
- 1:59Speaker 1: Steed offense? You played last night one for four of
- 2:01Speaker 1: the double. Well, why is he not in the lineup
- 2:03Speaker 1: every day?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Right?
- 2:04Speaker 1: He left you? Why does it matter. There should not
- 2:06Speaker 1: be a platoon of the guy that's supposed to be
- 2:08Speaker 1: this good.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I mean he's not even platooning, playing like once every
- 2:12Speaker 3: three days, and the stars he has gone. He had
- 2:15Speaker 3: to pay Shamamota one day or tany another. Uh, it
- 2:19Speaker 3: makes no sense. Everybody don't have room for him in
- 2:21Speaker 3: that lineup unless they trade somebody or just sit something
- 2:25Speaker 3: in the bench. You know, they don't want to bench
- 2:28Speaker 3: Chapman or Devers or you know, a domoicte thing. You know,
- 2:32Speaker 3: now they're talking about, well, do they have to trade
- 2:34Speaker 3: Luisa Rise so they can move Schmid over there the
- 2:37Speaker 3: second and make room? I know, you know right now
- 2:40Speaker 3: there their quote as well, he's a thread off the bench.
- 2:43Speaker 3: He's not you know, he's not a thirty five year old,
- 2:44Speaker 3: thirty seven year old journeyman. So it's puzzling. I think
- 2:48Speaker 3: all they're doing is hurting is development, and he needs
- 2:50Speaker 3: to play, whether it's Sacramento or whether it's San Francisco,
- 2:53Speaker 3: play every day somewhere.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Yeah, at some point. I know it's still early in
- 2:59Speaker 4: the season, but you look at the standings, there's clearly
- 3:02Speaker 4: three better teams in that division than the San Francisco
- 3:05Speaker 4: Giants at some point, do they just have to make
- 3:07Speaker 4: a decision, like he's up here, he's got to play, Like,
- 3:11Speaker 4: allow him to get at bats and maybe start looking
- 3:14Speaker 4: towards next season.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I think so.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I mean, now you got to you know, like yourself
- 3:19Speaker 3: in the mirror. You're twenty and thirty. You're not going anywhere. Uh,
- 3:24Speaker 3: you know, things aren't going to turn around. You're gonna
- 3:26Speaker 3: start trading people the deadline. Play this guy to see
- 3:29Speaker 3: what you got. They don't want to play and trade him,
- 3:31Speaker 3: but he needs to play every day somewhere.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Uh.
- 3:34Speaker 3: You know, if they thought they were going to have
- 3:35Speaker 3: this problem, they should have traded him during the winter.
- 3:38Speaker 3: So but yeah, he is a play I mean he
- 3:40Speaker 3: uh their day, he played for the first time in
- 3:42Speaker 3: three days.
- 3:43Speaker 2: You know, got two singles and he said you felt
- 3:45Speaker 2: like he had to play for a week.
- 3:46Speaker 3: You know, when he is first at bad it's just
- 3:49Speaker 3: you know, being so rusty.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Uh.
- 3:51Speaker 3: You know, he hit the ball hurnt thirteen miles an
- 3:53Speaker 3: hour off the wall. Yes, they ain't not a line drive,
- 3:56Speaker 3: but he just he's got to play. If you don't
- 3:58Speaker 3: want to play him in San Francisco, you gotta play
- 4:00Speaker 3: the Sacramento and then decide later on how are you
- 4:02Speaker 3: going to make room for him?
- 4:04Speaker 5: Bob, great job getting Bryce getting him in the lineup
- 4:08Speaker 5: because there was you know, if you hadn't written the article,
- 4:10Speaker 5: they wouldn't have put him in the lineup. But my
- 4:12Speaker 5: question is who who's making this choice. I was arguing
- 4:17Speaker 5: with AJ he thinks it's Posy making the decision. I
- 4:21Speaker 5: think it's Tony V. I think I think Posy hired
- 4:24Speaker 5: Tony vy Tello to kind of like say, okay, you
- 4:27Speaker 5: know what my manager that I loved, he took care
- 4:30Speaker 5: of the stuff on the field. Is this a Tony
- 4:32Speaker 5: V Saying I don't know, I really like, you know
- 4:36Speaker 5: my veterans that are out there because you know this
- 4:39Speaker 5: guy's young and this, or do you think it's posy
- 4:41Speaker 5: and they're trying to play puppeteer out on the field
- 4:44Speaker 5: a little bit?
- 4:46Speaker 2: I think I think it's Posy in the front office.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I did his way above Bicello's head when he had
- 4:51Speaker 3: the two singles on Monday night, then there was no
- 4:55Speaker 3: question now he was gonna be out of the lineup
- 4:57Speaker 3: Tuesday because already made their mind up. I think they
- 4:59Speaker 3: can I'll tell you right now, how many days is
- 5:02Speaker 3: going to play in the next week. I think everything's scripted,
- 5:04Speaker 3: so no, I think it's above by Cello said, I
- 5:06Speaker 3: really do.
- 5:10Speaker 5: We love our dog Bella, who splays out in the
- 5:12Speaker 5: open sun on our floor like she's an underwear model,
- 5:15Speaker 5: and that's why we love her so much. To scratch
- 5:17Speaker 5: her belly.
- 5:19Speaker 6: She's a cutie, that Bella. And A quick message from

- 6:09Speaker 6: business of insurance.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Hey, Bob, we we always talk about there being a
- 6:14Speaker 4: challenge in Colorado when it comes to the pitching side.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Do you believe some of the offensive struggles with the
- 6:19Speaker 4: Giants has to do with their ballpark? And is there
- 6:21Speaker 4: something that needs to be done in order to There
- 6:25Speaker 4: hasn't been a lot of successful offensive players that have
- 6:27Speaker 4: been in San Francisco pretty much since Barry Bonds.
- 6:31Speaker 2: There hasn't.
- 6:32Speaker 3: But you know, I remember when the Damas signed with
- 6:34Speaker 3: the uh, you know, with them coming from the Brewers
- 6:37Speaker 3: to a lot of people, you know, Milwaukee said, oh,
- 6:39Speaker 3: they've paid an awful lot of money. They're gonna be
- 6:41Speaker 3: in for Root and Wakening, I mean the great Milwaukee.
- 6:44Speaker 3: But they didn't see him doing great in San Francisco.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Boston traded Devers for a reason, and you know, look
- 6:51Speaker 3: what look was happening now that tray was actually pretty
- 6:53Speaker 3: decent for Boston if they had kept Harrison and and
- 6:57Speaker 3: the guys, uh, you know, the young prospect TIBs at
- 6:59Speaker 3: this over the Dodgers. You know that vad was actually,
- 7:02Speaker 3: you know, pretty good. So think in your head a
- 7:04Speaker 3: little bit. It's not hurting Luisa Rise. He's in, you know,
- 7:07Speaker 3: about three twenty five there, so you're going to have
- 7:10Speaker 3: the right mindset, and you know, does he explain why
- 7:13Speaker 3: you know you're going to have your home run drop
- 7:15Speaker 3: but you shouldn't be batting, you know, blow two hundred either.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Come on, Bob, they need to move the fences in.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And one of the most picturesque ballparks in the country,
- 7:25Speaker 1: they need to move the fences in because you know,
- 7:26Speaker 1: Barry Bonce could hit it out of there. A lot
- 7:28Speaker 1: of people could hit it out there, just not thirty times.
- 7:30Speaker 1: So it's it's it's ridiculous. I hate that argument that, oh,
- 7:34Speaker 1: the ballpark, you've got to make adjustments. And since you
- 7:37Speaker 1: run up the Brewers, let's talk about the Brewers. Is
- 7:39Speaker 1: Matt Arnold the best GM in baseball or President Baseballs,
- 7:42Speaker 1: whatever his title is right now? And then is Pat
- 7:44Speaker 1: Murphy the best manager in baseball? Because they lose everybody
- 7:48Speaker 1: you name it, they lose it. They lose Freddy perraulta
- 7:50Speaker 1: this year, right, Devin Williams, Willia Domis Corbyn Burns. Everybody's gone,
- 7:55Speaker 1: oh boo hoo, the Brewers are gonna stink, and here
- 7:58Speaker 1: they are. They go into Wrigley, they smacked the Cubs around,
- 8:01Speaker 1: and they just keep winning games. You mentioned Harrison, Harrison
- 8:05Speaker 1: is what's five or six? And oh with a one
- 8:07Speaker 1: something e r A. They just whoever they throw out
- 8:09Speaker 1: there seems to fit. Are these two the best duo
- 8:12Speaker 1: in front office manager in baseball?
- 8:15Speaker 2: It's an unbelievable duo. You're right.
- 8:17Speaker 3: I mean, if we're talking about you know, alex In
- 8:19Speaker 3: Topples of Atlanta, Uh, Andrew Freeman of LA.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Matt Arnold's right there at rut Mount Rushmore with him.
- 8:25Speaker 3: You mentioned if Matt had some money to spend, but yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 3: he's unbelievable. Then you talk about Murphy, if he wins
- 8:32Speaker 3: to Nationally Manager of the Year award, it's just, you know,
- 8:35Speaker 3: change the name to the Murphy Award.
- 8:36Speaker 2: It's unbelievable what he does. He gets so much of
- 8:39Speaker 2: that talent.
- 8:40Speaker 3: And mean, look out the people they have trade over
- 8:42Speaker 3: the years. You know they traded Freddie Peralta, you know
- 8:44Speaker 3: Corporate Burns, you know, two all star closers and Devin
- 8:48Speaker 3: Williams and Josh Hader and then don't blink. But you know,
- 8:51Speaker 3: if I'm a team, I don't not trade with Matt Arnold.
- 8:54Speaker 3: It's unbelievable what he does. And uh, you know, look
- 8:57Speaker 3: what Harrison's doing. Uh, thisl Caleb Durban, all the guys
- 9:02Speaker 3: they touch, you know, the kid yesterday Hamilton gets a
- 9:05Speaker 3: Little League home run in a triple. So yeah, you
- 9:08Speaker 3: want to you want to play for the Brewers. You
- 9:11Speaker 3: know they get the most out you. They know when
- 9:13Speaker 3: to move a player too, and when to acquire a player.
- 9:15Speaker 3: So yeah, I can't imagine what they do with a
- 9:18Speaker 3: two hundred million AR payrol.
- 9:20Speaker 5: The reason I always said that the Brewers were always
- 9:22Speaker 5: doing good because they had the Freddie p they had
- 9:24Speaker 5: the Corvin Burds, they had the Brandon woodrif when he
- 9:27Speaker 5: was healthy. And then you go to the closer, Hayter
- 9:29Speaker 5: Williams all that stuff. Who is that next guy? Because
- 9:32Speaker 5: you don't win without stars. So of these three guys,
- 9:36Speaker 5: who do you think and it could be all of
- 9:38Speaker 5: them together, but Jackson Curio, Jacob Azerowski or is it
- 9:45Speaker 5: the person who wrote the article about Bryce terrag pretty
- 9:48Speaker 5: unsung stars because they're in Milwaukee, and everybody kind of
- 9:52Speaker 5: discounts them and they look up and you're like, whoa,
- 9:54Speaker 5: that's a those are nice players. So which of those
- 9:56Speaker 5: guys you feel like is that next Brewers star?
- 10:02Speaker 3: Well, I think certainly miss Rosky just what you know,
- 10:04Speaker 3: how hard he throws and everything else, he's gonna be.
- 10:06Speaker 2: In the household name.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I think, you know, tring this, you could be the
- 10:09Speaker 3: face of that franchise, even more than Curio. Remember at
- 10:13Speaker 3: that at the WBC and you recovering a j I mean,
- 10:16Speaker 3: everybody kept raving about tering how good he was. I mean,
- 10:20Speaker 3: you know what a big star he'd be if he's
- 10:22Speaker 3: playing in l a Or or New York. Just a grinder,
- 10:26Speaker 3: and I think this merph type of team. I mean,
- 10:28Speaker 3: he loves those young guys and he's the old school manager.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I mean he'll rip guys in the papers. He'll get
- 10:34Speaker 3: guys out of the games if someone forgets how many
- 10:36Speaker 3: else they are. You know, they're not playing the rest
- 10:39Speaker 3: at anything, let alone you know, playing the next day
- 10:41Speaker 3: without anybody saying a word to you. So, uh, he
- 10:44Speaker 3: heils these guys. He's a tough guy, you know, he's
- 10:46Speaker 3: almost like a you know, our modern day. Bobby Cox,
- 10:50Speaker 3: you know, he doesn't take grief from anybody and not
- 10:53Speaker 3: afraid to challenge anybody.
- 10:55Speaker 1: One huge difference. Hates getting thrown out of games. Murph
- 10:59Speaker 1: like this spizes getting thrown out of games. And Bobby
- 11:01Speaker 1: Cox would live to get thrown out of games just
- 11:03Speaker 1: to defend his players. And then the next day he
- 11:05Speaker 1: come out and be like, hey, I don't even know
- 11:07Speaker 1: what happened. Hey, guys, what's up? You guys want to
- 11:09Speaker 1: get beers tonight, Bob?
- 11:09Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:11Speaker 1: So it's a little bit different. But but the other
- 11:13Speaker 1: side of this coin is, yes, the Brewers playing great.
- 11:16Speaker 1: They're doing all these right things. What happened to the
- 11:18Speaker 1: Cubs the last few games? They were riding high ten
- 11:20Speaker 1: game winning streak, ten game winning streak, and then all
- 11:23Speaker 1: of a sudden the White Sox beat him a couple
- 11:25Speaker 1: of times. Now the Brewers have come in and beat him.
- 11:27Speaker 1: PCA has had some distractions and some errors. They're not
- 11:31Speaker 1: pitching as well, they're not swinging the bat as well.
- 11:34Speaker 1: What is going on in La La Land, I mean Wrigleyville.
- 11:38Speaker 3: I think the White Socks messed up their psyche for sure,
- 11:41Speaker 3: right right and be there, And I thought they were
- 11:44Speaker 3: going to lose at least two or three at regular
- 11:46Speaker 3: I tell my buddy, and sort of if not get swept,
- 11:48Speaker 3: just emotional let down.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I think the Brewers are on their head. I mean
- 11:52Speaker 2: they cannot beat the Brewers.
- 11:53Speaker 3: It goes back to what was the twenty seventeen when
- 11:56Speaker 3: they lost that game one sixty three at Wrigley Bill
- 12:00Speaker 3: and they uh and there were more Brewers fans at
- 12:03Speaker 3: Wriggling that were Cup fans, and the Brewers have owned
- 12:06Speaker 3: their number ever since. So yeah, they wake up call now.
- 12:10Speaker 3: I think, you know, at the deadline, if not before,
- 12:12Speaker 3: they got to get in their starter, because even to
- 12:15Speaker 3: make the playoffs, how.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Far are they going to go?
- 12:17Speaker 3: I think they need a front line starter to settle
- 12:19Speaker 3: things down, and they're missing that guy.
- 12:22Speaker 5: How big of a loss would it be if Edward Cabrera,
- 12:25Speaker 5: who started the game with the blister, has to miss
- 12:29Speaker 5: some time with it, because blisters can be you know,
- 12:31Speaker 5: they do the whole higadine whatever, all all the some
- 12:34Speaker 5: of them doesn't work. So how big of a loss
- 12:36Speaker 5: is it to an already beleaguered staff that you said
- 12:39Speaker 5: they need to pick up a starter.
- 12:42Speaker 3: No, I think it'd be big, uh case the least
- 12:44Speaker 3: he was pitching deeping games, beattings, you know, until yesterday.
- 12:48Speaker 3: So yeah, they got to get their start. I think
- 12:50Speaker 3: that's what they're talking about. Hey, can we get to
- 12:52Speaker 3: Freddie Prawltak, Can we get a Robbie Ray. You know,
- 12:55Speaker 3: you're probably gonna have to wait till till July to
- 12:57Speaker 3: get that done, but I think it would be a
- 12:59Speaker 3: big thing.
- 13:00Speaker 2: You know.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Lucky for them, they got the Ashers coming in town,
- 13:02Speaker 3: so they got the right team coming in to kind
- 13:05Speaker 3: of get their confidence back. But obviously a lot of
- 13:08Speaker 3: guys confidence they shot, you know, of course, you know,
- 13:10Speaker 3: leading with the Peter grow Ramstrom.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Yeah, you kind of touched on that was a question
- 13:14Speaker 4: I was going to ask if, obviously the Cubs have
- 13:17Speaker 4: been kind of dismantled from the starting pitching standpoint, and
- 13:21Speaker 4: obviously Justin Steel getting kind of pushed back in his rehab,
- 13:24Speaker 4: where would they go to get starting pitchers in Do
- 13:27Speaker 4: you see a scenario where a team, maybe like the
- 13:30Speaker 4: San Francisco Giants, are willing to sell early.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I think they might have to. I mean, Robbie raised
- 13:37Speaker 3: a free agent, anyway, go after him. I don't think
- 13:40Speaker 3: that Trey Logan Webb, but certainly can't hurt. If you
- 13:43Speaker 3: want to go for the big boy, you know, call
- 13:46Speaker 3: up toront I mean to call up Detroit. Scott Harris
- 13:49Speaker 3: used to be with the Cubs. Obviously they got your relationship.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Go after schoolball. I mean the Tigers have lost thirteen
- 13:55Speaker 3: or fifteen, said Scoball, went on the injury list. They
- 13:58Speaker 3: look terrible. They may have no choice but to trade
- 14:01Speaker 3: Scooba at the deadline. And that's the guy. That's the
- 14:04Speaker 3: guy you want. So if you want to really go
- 14:06Speaker 3: after it, go after the big guy in the black.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Smart, the big guy on the block. This offseason, Bob
- 14:13Speaker 1: was Edwin Diaz as a closer. We talked about this
- 14:16Speaker 1: the other day and the people that don't know out there,
- 14:18Speaker 1: he was seen and admitted to going to cock fighting
- 14:21Speaker 1: down in Puerto Rico, which is a which is a
- 14:23Speaker 1: thing down there. Whether you like it or not, Bob,
- 14:26Speaker 1: it's a thing down there, and it's part of their
- 14:28Speaker 1: culture and they defend it. And you know, I'm not
- 14:31Speaker 1: here to judge anybody what they are into or what
- 14:32Speaker 1: they're not into. Will he see any discipline from Major
- 14:35Speaker 1: League Baseball because of this? Or is this just a
- 14:38Speaker 1: story that popped up, and I give you Essay Today
- 14:40Speaker 1: a lot of credit. They were kind of the only
- 14:42Speaker 1: ones if to kind of cover this.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I reached out to Major League Baseball
- 14:48Speaker 3: when the story was coming out, and they said, no
- 14:51Speaker 3: discipline unless he was betting with an illegal booky. His
- 14:55Speaker 3: being with a booky, Yeah, then be disciplined, and even
- 14:58Speaker 3: that would be a fine. So as they said, it's
- 15:01Speaker 3: you know, you know, been kind of part of the culture,
- 15:03Speaker 3: whether you like it or not. If you, you know,
- 15:06Speaker 3: discipline every every player that's been there, whether to make
- 15:09Speaker 3: a republic or any Latin America country, you know, you'd
- 15:12Speaker 3: be shutting down, shutting down baseball. So no, there'll be
- 15:15Speaker 3: no discipline for for Diaz. And I'm sure at some
- 15:18Speaker 3: point he'll he'll answer a question about it. You know,
- 15:21Speaker 3: he's a upfront guy. I'm sure he would talk about it.
- 15:24Speaker 3: But I think just part of the culture. And they
- 15:26Speaker 3: said he's done nothing illegal. You know, do they like it, No,
- 15:30Speaker 3: But there's nothing illegal that he did he did at least,
- 15:33Speaker 3: but it is.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Hey, Bob, I've been watching the Yankee series a little
- 15:38Speaker 4: bit more closely because the Blue J's.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Are in town.
- 15:41Speaker 4: But I really noticed that bottom third of that order
- 15:45Speaker 4: is is pretty poor for the Yankees. You have some
- 15:47Speaker 4: concerns with that bottom third of the lineup in order
- 15:50Speaker 4: for them to be the team that they think they
- 15:52Speaker 4: can be.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they need those guys to wake up,
- 15:57Speaker 3: you know, whether it's a you know, Chis on there
- 15:59Speaker 3: or a McMahon.
- 16:01Speaker 2: You need some help.
- 16:02Speaker 3: And of course the catching position as well with Wells,
- 16:05Speaker 3: so you need to win those guys who not to
- 16:07Speaker 3: those guys to step up. I still think they'll be fine.
- 16:11Speaker 3: You know, if Cole was healthy and Pitchinglin Garrett Cole
- 16:14Speaker 3: of old and once Max Free comes back, then I
- 16:17Speaker 3: think they're in great shape. Uh you know, I think
- 16:20Speaker 3: they are their front front runner for the to win
- 16:24Speaker 3: the American League Pennant and get to a World Series.
- 16:27Speaker 3: And no, Tampa's good and everything else, but the American
- 16:29Speaker 3: League is so bad. I think this might be the
- 16:32Speaker 3: least of resistance that the Yankee teams have had since
- 16:35Speaker 3: they last one and all in two thousand and nine.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Do you think some of the years that some of
- 16:40Speaker 5: the guys in that bottom of the order, because now
- 16:41Speaker 5: Grisham's down there, Jazz is pseudo bottom of the order
- 16:45Speaker 5: he's like the start of the bottom of the order.
- 16:48Speaker 5: Do you think they're just going to lean on that
- 16:49Speaker 5: all year in the sense that, okay, well they hit
- 16:52Speaker 5: thirty homers, so they're going to figure it out. Although
- 16:56Speaker 5: they hit it batting a little bit closer to judge
- 16:59Speaker 5: where teams are like, we gotta throw them Trent Chrisha.
- 17:03Speaker 2: No, I think that been one to shake things up.
- 17:05Speaker 3: And I think they've shown not just the way they've
- 17:07Speaker 3: handled a short stop position, say hey, Cabalar, it's yours.
- 17:11Speaker 2: We're going with you. We're going with the hot hand.
- 17:13Speaker 3: So I think the moves they made, they're showing theirs urgency.
- 17:16Speaker 3: I mean, you don't have this many opportunities. I mean,
- 17:19Speaker 3: who knows what the America League is gonna look like,
- 17:21Speaker 3: you know, next year, the year after that. I think
- 17:23Speaker 3: they see this is a you know, golden avenue to
- 17:26Speaker 3: get to the World Series. I don't you know outside Tampa,
- 17:30Speaker 3: you know, is aby to get a tounch of Yankees.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I don't. I don't think so.
- 17:33Speaker 3: I think that much better than everybody else. So I
- 17:36Speaker 3: think they're they're all in at the trade deamline.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I like it, Bob, all right, before we let you go,
- 17:41Speaker 1: I have one more question for you, and it's gonna
- 17:43Speaker 1: be an odd one. So I kind of want the
- 17:45Speaker 1: guys feelings on this too. Who's the most disappointing team
- 17:49Speaker 1: right now or the most surprising team that they're bad?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Is it Detroit? Is it Kansas City? Is it Boston? Baltimore?
- 17:58Speaker 2: Is it.
- 18:00Speaker 1: The Mets? I mean the Mets are too easy, so
- 18:02Speaker 1: I'm throwing the Mets out? Or is it I mean
- 18:05Speaker 1: those are mainly American League teams. Is it Baltimore, Boston, Detroit,
- 18:09Speaker 1: Kansas City? Because all the American League teams have not
- 18:12Speaker 1: been good, like you mentioned, So is it time for
- 18:14Speaker 1: those teams to say, you know what, we're packing it
- 18:16Speaker 1: up and we need to trade people away.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I think it's gotta be Detroit Tigers.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Uh, you know they were gave away from I mean,
- 18:23Speaker 3: they could have gone to the World Series last year.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Everybody thought, hey, once they got Frembervaldez, now they're the
- 18:29Speaker 3: team that beat in the American League. They should run
- 18:31Speaker 3: away with the al Central. I got to go to
- 18:33Speaker 3: the Tigers. Uh, you know, it's embarrassing and why they've
- 18:36Speaker 3: played so far and they're getting some great production of
- 18:38Speaker 3: McGonagall who knows what they looked like.
- 18:40Speaker 2: They didn't have him stepping up.
- 18:42Speaker 3: So I think that epic failure if they have to
- 18:45Speaker 3: trade guys in the deadline, including Scooba.
- 18:47Speaker 2: So no, I think they're a huge disappointment. Uh you know,
- 18:50Speaker 2: Baltimore's close.
- 18:52Speaker 3: You know, just a couple of years ago, we're talking
- 18:54Speaker 3: about all those young kids up and rising. You know,
- 18:56Speaker 3: great great window here that here they come and just collapse.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I mean, you know one up that windows closed forever
- 19:03Speaker 3: and they got to rebuild somehow. But you know, they
- 19:06Speaker 3: never got that big star pitcher in the off season. Alonzo,
- 19:09Speaker 3: you know, hasn't been the guy they thought. So I
- 19:12Speaker 3: would put Baltimore right behind in Detroit as far as
- 19:15Speaker 3: huge disappointments.
- 19:17Speaker 1: I like him.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I like it.
- 19:18Speaker 1: And by the way, I wasn't gonna give you the
- 19:20Speaker 1: Mets because that was too easy. I think we could
- 19:22Speaker 1: go around the box and all four boxes and raise
- 19:24Speaker 1: our hands and say, probably the Mets are the most
- 19:26Speaker 1: disappointing team of the season so far. But Bob, thanks
- 19:29Speaker 1: for joining us. We appreciate it. It's always good talking
- 19:32Speaker 1: to you. And we'll see you somewhere down the road
- 19:34Speaker 1: and we'll talk to you on faul Territory and we're
- 19:36Speaker 1: gonna hit a break. We'll be right back
