- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Mark Simone Show Live from ther
- 0:04Speaker 1: Life Back Studios. Welcome back, I just got here. I
- 0:10Speaker 1: guess they mean them yesterday. Well, welcome back. But hey,
- 0:14Speaker 1: we've got a lot to get to. We'll get to Iran,
- 0:16Speaker 1: We'll get to Lindsey Graham, we'll get to the President's
- 0:19Speaker 1: speech Thursday night, we'll get to FIFA, the latest on
- 0:22Speaker 1: Legionnaire's disease, and a whole lot more coming up. Lindsey
- 0:26Speaker 1: Graham Nation mourning his very sudden, surprising passing and the
- 0:34Speaker 1: governor appointing his sister Darlene to take off over for him.
- 0:40Speaker 1: And this is just for a few months. It'll be
- 0:44Speaker 1: for about seven months until January. They'll have a special
- 0:47Speaker 1: election and I'm not sure yet who's going to run. Well,
- 0:52Speaker 1: a bunch of candidates are possible. His sister Darlene spoke
- 0:57Speaker 1: yesterday after the governor nomine actually you gave her the seat.
- 1:02Speaker 1: She'll now be a Senator for about seven months.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I don't want to thank the governor for selecting me
- 1:07Speaker 2: to serve the remainder of Lindsay's term, and is such
- 1:11Speaker 2: an honor. Lindsay has always been there for me and
- 1:16Speaker 2: now I will be there for him.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Wow, it's a big loss, a big, big loss for
- 1:23Speaker 1: Donald Trump. Lindsay Graham an important advisor, confidant. He's also
- 1:26Speaker 1: a guy who could go all over the place in
- 1:28Speaker 1: the Capitol and get things done. Whether you needed to
- 1:31Speaker 1: win over a Republican or a Democrat, Lindsay Graham would
- 1:34Speaker 1: do that. So she'll be great as far as voting,
- 1:36Speaker 1: but you won't be able to do all that that
- 1:38Speaker 1: other stuff.
- 1:39Speaker 2: My brother was the most amazing person, outstanding leader, and
- 1:45Speaker 2: just a genuinely good man.
- 1:47Speaker 1: He really was a good guy. I mean those that knew,
- 1:51Speaker 1: nobody could. I've never heard anybody not like Lindsay Graham personally.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Some people didn't like some of the voting Iraq war amnesty.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I mean, he was like McCain. I mean, everybody loved
- 2:04Speaker 1: the guy, but sometimes he'd crossed the aisle when you
- 2:08Speaker 1: didn't want him to. But here's the governor of Tennessee, McMaster,
- 2:14Speaker 1: good friend and ally of Donald Trump. He's the one
- 2:16Speaker 1: that picked her to be the acting senator for seven months.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Limsay took care of his little sister in years long departed.
- 2:26Speaker 3: It's my honor to ask his little sister, Darlene Graham
- 2:30Speaker 3: to finish his work for him.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Now, so it looks like a burst a order. Now,
- 2:41Speaker 1: he should have taken better care of himself. He should
- 2:43Speaker 1: have gotten checked out a little more, had that looked
- 2:45Speaker 1: at more. It runs in the family. It's genetic. His
- 2:48Speaker 1: father died at just about the same age, same thing.
- 2:53Speaker 1: He neglected that. And you know the problem is that,
- 2:57Speaker 1: you know, when you got that kind of heart stuff
- 3:00Speaker 1: in your family, in your genes, you really got to
- 3:02Speaker 1: get it looked at all the time. Now, doctor Oz,
- 3:05Speaker 1: who's a great heart specialist, explains this.
- 3:08Speaker 4: One of the things with aortic dissection I bought a
- 3:10Speaker 4: simple model of demonstrator is you don't have much warning.
- 3:13Speaker 4: And the pro cautionary tale is keep your blood pressure
- 3:16Speaker 4: low because that is the one risk factor that seems
- 3:17Speaker 4: to be recurrent. The second is if you have the
- 3:19Speaker 4: worst pain you've ever had, you should go see a doctor. Unfortunately,
- 3:22Speaker 4: with aortic dissection, even then it's sometimes too late. About
- 3:26Speaker 4: thirty percent of people die within the first day, more
- 3:29Speaker 4: than half a day, within two days.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah. The other problem it was a pretty big drinker.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I mean, he loved to drink. That doesn't help that
- 3:38Speaker 1: at all. So again, everybody loved the guy that worked
- 3:41Speaker 1: with him, Democrats, Republicans. He was like from the good
- 3:44Speaker 1: old days, you know, the tip O'Neil days, where after
- 3:47Speaker 1: work they'd all go to a bar together, the Republicans,
- 3:50Speaker 1: the Democrats, they'd have lunch together. That doesn't exist anymore.
- 3:54Speaker 1: But in the case of Lindsay Graham, a lot of
- 3:56Speaker 1: senators speaking out about him. Senator Graham was a.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Very forceful and quick witted presence in every room that
- 4:05Speaker 5: he entered. His warm nature made everyone his friend, and
- 4:12Speaker 5: I feel blessed to be one of them.
- 4:16Speaker 1: From every senator, great tribute.
- 4:18Speaker 6: It's difficult to believe that Lindsey Graham is no longer
- 4:21Speaker 6: here with us, that we won't run into him at
- 4:24Speaker 6: a Minia day or share a joke with him at
- 4:27Speaker 6: this afternoon's vote. The halls of the Senate already feel empty.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Without him again. Touching tributes from everybody. However, there was
- 4:37Speaker 1: one senator who's a cheap, hustling, pandering, just a cheap politician.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Who am I talking to? Everybody says they're all saying
- 4:48Speaker 1: right now, Schumer, Chuck Schumer. Chuck Schumer with the big glasses,
- 4:53Speaker 1: pretends he's doing a tribute to Lindsay Graham, but it's
- 4:56Speaker 1: actually a paid political announcement.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I urged Senator Thun in honor of Lindsey to put
- 5:02Speaker 4: the sanctions, the Russian sanctions bill on the floor immediately.
- 5:07Speaker 1: It will pass.
- 5:07Speaker 7: Overwhelmingly and help our allies in Ukraine.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's a very touching tribute in honor of Lindsay.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Could you pass this bill that I've been pushing for
- 5:16Speaker 1: a while in honor of Lindsay, maybe you could make
- 5:20Speaker 1: a donation to my campaign. What a cheap little politician.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Schumer is always out of touch, always inappropriate. So we
- 5:30Speaker 1: hit Iran very very hard last night. In fact, we
- 5:34Speaker 1: killed a major leader of the IRGC, major Iranian Republic
- 5:39Speaker 1: Guard leader, Revolutionary guard leader was killed last night. So
- 5:45Speaker 1: this is going to go on, night after night. We're
- 5:46Speaker 1: going to keep hitting them very very hard. The peace
- 5:49Speaker 1: socks are continuing. At the same time.
- 5:52Speaker 8: We had a deal yesterday or the day before yesterday,
- 5:55Speaker 8: was all done and then they broke up that deal
- 5:57Speaker 8: immediately because they found out there was something the deal
- 6:00Speaker 8: they didn't like, and they're wired differently and we're not
- 6:03Speaker 8: going to put.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Up with it. Yeah, So they're a little crazy. They're
- 6:08Speaker 1: negotiating while they don't have the capacity to hit us
- 6:12Speaker 1: back in anyway, so they're firing into other countries. They've
- 6:15Speaker 1: hit like four or five neighboring countries with a rocket
- 6:18Speaker 1: with a drone. So the Straight of hor Moose, we
- 6:21Speaker 1: have closed it down. We can reopen it whenever we want.
- 6:24Speaker 1: We've done it before. In fact, there was stopped about
- 6:28Speaker 1: a week ago. But there was a six week period
- 6:30Speaker 1: where we had the straight open the southern route, but
- 6:33Speaker 1: we got eight hundred and twenty tankers through. Three hundred
- 6:37Speaker 1: and eighty million barrels of oil came through. It's still
- 6:42Speaker 1: open to some extent, just lower traffic than usual. On Sunday,
- 6:49Speaker 1: fourteen ships came through. That's a lot lower, and only
- 6:51Speaker 1: five hundred thousand barrels of crewed came through. But it
- 6:56Speaker 1: is technically open. We're going to the president negotia like
- 7:00Speaker 1: a business guy, like a tough New York City business negotiator.
- 7:04Speaker 1: So they want a toll on all the ships, or
- 7:08Speaker 1: Ran wants to collect a toll, So then we are
- 7:10Speaker 1: announcing we're tolling them, and actually the money will be
- 7:14Speaker 1: to reimburse us for protecting the Straight.
- 7:17Speaker 8: I want to be reimbursed because we're protecting a very
- 7:20Speaker 8: rich portion of the world. We're spending money, and so
- 7:23Speaker 8: what we've done is we are going to be reimbursed
- 7:25Speaker 8: for protection we're protecting by the countries that we're helping.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll reimburse us. It's kind of a soprano ish
- 7:35Speaker 1: kind of thing there. You've got to pay us everywhere.
- 7:38Speaker 1: But this is all just negotiating. Remember Trump just loves
- 7:46Speaker 1: to switch tactics, change, I mean, he just he's all
- 7:51Speaker 1: over the place, but he knows what he's doing. In
- 7:53Speaker 1: the end, it always works out.
- 7:54Speaker 8: So we're knocking out all of their offensive capability, and
- 7:58Speaker 8: we're controlling the straits. We're putting the blockade back, and
- 8:02Speaker 8: it's a blockade not for anybody but I ran. In
- 8:04Speaker 8: other words, anybody doing business with Iran can't go through.
- 8:07Speaker 8: Everyone else we'll be able.
- 8:08Speaker 3: To go through.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so we're letting other ships go through. Also, remember
- 8:11Speaker 1: we don't use any oil from the Straight of horm Mooose.
- 8:14Speaker 1: We don't need a drop of oil from there. We've
- 8:16Speaker 1: never used it. We use all our own oil. In fact,
- 8:18Speaker 1: we have more oil than we need. We are now
- 8:20Speaker 1: the biggest exporter of oil in the world.
- 8:24Speaker 8: We're taking on all of their capability for anything having
- 8:28Speaker 8: to do with the straight with a hormone straight and
- 8:30Speaker 8: I think in the end we will end up discontrolling
- 8:34Speaker 8: the whole thing.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Yeah, probably the strongest military in the world. The President's
- 8:40Speaker 1: going to make a speech Thursday night, primetime address. This
- 8:43Speaker 1: is a thing of the past, you know, to make
- 8:44Speaker 1: these primetime address network TV, and nobody watches network TV anymore.
- 8:51Speaker 1: If you're the biggest show on primetime on a Thursday night,
- 8:55Speaker 1: maybe you got two or three million viewers. Not much.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I mean he has more viewers. The five has like
- 9:02Speaker 1: four million viewers. Sean Hannity Radio show is almost seventeen
- 9:07Speaker 1: million listeners. So at night, where it used to be
- 9:11Speaker 1: everybody watching primetime TV, everybody is streaming. It's Netflix, it's
- 9:16Speaker 1: Cable News, it's Peacock, it's HBO Max, it's Apple TV.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So you can do a primetime address on television. It
- 9:26Speaker 1: doesn't reach a lot of people now. The President last
- 9:30Speaker 1: night on Greg Kelly Reports, great show on Newsmax. Every
- 9:34Speaker 1: night at nine you should be watching Greg Kelly. The
- 9:36Speaker 1: President calling in to talk about all of this the deal.
- 9:41Speaker 7: We hit him very hard last night every time they
- 9:43Speaker 7: send a drone. We hit him very hard. But we
- 9:45Speaker 7: had a deal. But nobody knows we had a deal.
- 9:48Speaker 7: It was a done deal and then they broke it.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so he will talk Thursday night, but it is more.
- 9:55Speaker 7: Now we're going to guard it, and we're gonna get
- 9:56Speaker 7: paid for guarding it a lot of money. But we
- 9:59Speaker 7: just want to be reimbursed for doing all of this,
- 10:02Speaker 7: for putting our people in danger.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Now. Apparently Thursday night speech will not just be a rant.
- 10:08Speaker 1: It'll be a whole bunch of topics. He'll cover a
- 10:10Speaker 1: little everything. He will talk about election, you know, safety,
- 10:16Speaker 1: securing our elections, to Save America Act. He'll talk about,
- 10:21Speaker 1: you know, elections in Georgia that didn't seem legitimate. You
- 10:24Speaker 1: got to do this just to rile up the left.
- 10:26Speaker 1: They'll go absolutely Nu's MSNBC will cut out of the
- 10:29Speaker 1: speech right then and there. He will talk about Los Angeles.
- 10:34Speaker 1: It is a very strange situation in Los Angeles where
- 10:38Speaker 1: this guy Pratt is in the lead. Everybody goes to vote,
- 10:41Speaker 1: he seems to be the winner, and then all of
- 10:43Speaker 1: a sudden, these male in votes come in from somewhere
- 10:47Speaker 1: and there are one hundred percent against Pratt. It's just
- 10:50Speaker 1: statistically impossible. I mean, it just doesn't make any sense.
- 10:54Speaker 1: So he's going to bring that up. That will drive
- 10:56Speaker 1: the left absolutely crazy. It hasn't really exploded yet as
- 11:02Speaker 1: a big story. But in Maine, Ice killed somebody. They
- 11:05Speaker 1: shot somebody. They were looking for an illegal criminal alien.
- 11:10Speaker 1: This wasn't the guy they were looking for. But this guy,
- 11:13Speaker 1: and I don't know what it was all about, took
- 11:15Speaker 1: his car and tried to run down ICE agents. They
- 11:18Speaker 1: had to fire. Witnesses back this up. There are a
- 11:22Speaker 1: couple of witnesses that were just in the streets that
- 11:24Speaker 1: the guy tried to run them over with his car,
- 11:28Speaker 1: So it was a justified firing. But you can have
- 11:31Speaker 1: all these Democrats try to make this a big issue.
- 11:34Speaker 1: They think it'll help Democrats win the Senate seat in Maine.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Here's Markee.
- 11:39Speaker 9: This morning, Ice murdered a man in Maine. I am
- 11:42Speaker 9: horrified by this attack and devastated that it happened here
- 11:46Speaker 9: in New England. Another life taken and another family left
- 11:51Speaker 9: grieving because of Trump's thugs. We cannot be silent in
- 11:56Speaker 9: the face of this corrupt criminal organization.
- 12:00Speaker 1: So you're going to hear a lot of that Trump's
- 12:02Speaker 1: thugs and their Nazi stormtroopers. They murdered a guy, they
- 12:06Speaker 1: shot somebody and cold well, they'll forget to mention the
- 12:08Speaker 1: guy was in his car and trying to run them over,
- 12:10Speaker 1: who was trying to ram them with his car. He
- 12:13Speaker 1: was ordered to stop, order to get out, and instead
- 12:15Speaker 1: tried to ram his car into them. So that's ald.
- 12:19Speaker 1: That's a big thing to leave out, and you'll hear
- 12:22Speaker 1: democrats leave that out of every description. Hey, this Legionnaire's
- 12:27Speaker 1: disease is scaring a lot of people. It's all over
- 12:30Speaker 1: the Upper east Side. Two cases have now been discovered
- 12:33Speaker 1: on the Upper west Side. It happens on the top
- 12:35Speaker 1: of the apartment building in that water tank, the water
- 12:38Speaker 1: cooler tower there, and it's Legionella virus and the bacteria
- 12:45Speaker 1: and it can just suddenly naturally form in the water.
- 12:49Speaker 1: And the thing that really makes it happen is heat,
- 12:52Speaker 1: a lot of heat still water that gets very, very
- 12:56Speaker 1: very warm. And this Legionnaire's outbreak, we think as a
- 13:00Speaker 1: result in large part because of the heat wave fourth
- 13:03Speaker 1: of July weekn remember the three days of one hundred
- 13:05Speaker 1: degree heat that may have caused a lot of that
- 13:08Speaker 1: to spread. Now tomorrow we've got another heat wave. It's
- 13:12Speaker 1: going to be one day. It's going to be ninety eight.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Won't quite feel as bad as that Fourth of July
- 13:18Speaker 1: stuff because it's a little less humid, But it's another
- 13:22Speaker 1: heatwave for one day, and they're worried that could start
- 13:26Speaker 1: some more legionnaires spreading into those water towers the heat
- 13:30Speaker 1: the still water. And they're supposed to the solution of this,
- 13:34Speaker 1: you got to inspect every tower, test every tower and
- 13:38Speaker 1: clean it up if there's any legionnaires in there. City's
- 13:41Speaker 1: supposed to do that. Apparently they're not doing it at
- 13:44Speaker 1: the speed they should be doing. It's going slowly, and
- 13:47Speaker 1: Mayor Mom Dannie is busy with TikTok and speeches and
- 13:51Speaker 1: all that, and he's not a manager. This is the
- 13:53Speaker 1: first job he's ever had. This is where you need
- 13:55Speaker 1: some real management guys who can increase the effort. Make
- 13:59Speaker 1: sure you get all these towers checked as fast as possible.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But we'll get back to mom Donnie. It's a FIFA
- 14:07Speaker 1: FIFA week, it's over Sunday. Sunday is the final FIFA game,
- 14:10Speaker 1: thank goodness. And then they get the hell out of here.
- 14:13Speaker 1: And is the All Star game tonight or tomorrow? The
- 14:17Speaker 1: home run derby was last night. Tonight's the All Star
- 14:20Speaker 1: game National League versus American League. It's one of the
- 14:24Speaker 1: silliest things in the world. I like that home run derby.
- 14:28Speaker 1: That's pretty good. But this All Star game, so that's tonight,
- 14:32Speaker 1: and then I'm sure Thursday night it's a big FIFA game.
- 14:37Speaker 1: So the President not taking that into consideration. If you
- 14:40Speaker 1: do do a prime time speech against that, Hey, we'll
- 14:43Speaker 1: take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three to two one
- 14:47Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two
- 14:50Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. Give wr a bre said on
- 14:56Speaker 1: the iHeart Radio app.
- 14:57Speaker 4: To hear Mark Simone and all the hosts in an instance.
- 15:02Speaker 10: Now back to the Mark Simo show on wor.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Well, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:12Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three to
- 15:15Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten. Let's go to Bob in Montvale,
- 15:20Speaker 1: New Jersey. Bob, how you doing, Bob?
- 15:25Speaker 11: Oh?
- 15:26Speaker 12: I'm sorry, Hello, Let's go Bob. I'm sorry takes for
- 15:30Speaker 12: taking my call. You know, you keep broadcasting that the
- 15:36Speaker 12: two governors and Mandani were at the soccer game, but contractually.
- 15:42Speaker 12: Does that mean they got paid.
- 15:45Speaker 1: No, Now, why would they be at the soccer games.
- 15:51Speaker 12: From the contract?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it's supposed to help promote the soccer. It's good
- 15:54Speaker 1: for business, it's good for tourism, brings in a lot
- 15:57Speaker 1: of revenue, a lot of money. Tell you have bussed
- 15:59Speaker 1: to go there, and you pretend that you're interested and
- 16:01Speaker 1: you're watching it. It's a all right. I just wondering
- 16:05Speaker 1: when you're a governor or mayor. I mean, there's a
- 16:07Speaker 1: lot of great parts of the job, but then you
- 16:09Speaker 1: got to sit through a lot of stuff. Now, Mom,
- 16:10Speaker 1: Donnie might be a soccer fan growing up where he did,
- 16:14Speaker 1: But I'm a feeling that Kathy Hochel is not a
- 16:17Speaker 1: soccer fan, and she has the attention span of like
- 16:20Speaker 1: a mosquito. So I really don't think she wants to
- 16:23Speaker 1: sit there for a couple of hours. But usually there's
- 16:25Speaker 1: a lot of people that you can mingle with. You know,
- 16:29Speaker 1: people think it's you could be the mayor of New York. Wow,
- 16:32Speaker 1: you can be the governor. Sounds pretty powerful, glamorous, But
- 16:36Speaker 1: half the day you're meeting with the water Commission, you're
- 16:39Speaker 1: meeting with you got to go through some town Hall
- 16:41Speaker 1: in the Bronx. It's it's got a lot of stuff
- 16:44Speaker 1: in that job you really wouldn't want to do. Let's
- 16:46Speaker 1: go to Mike and Saint James. Mike, how you doing fine?
- 16:50Speaker 7: Mark?
- 16:51Speaker 8: Thank you?
- 16:52Speaker 9: Is this an important question for the Iran situation.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Is Lloyd's of London ensuring the ships?
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's the problem. We can open the straight
- 17:03Speaker 1: or declare it open and say that the US Navy
- 17:06Speaker 1: will escort you through the Strait. You'll have nothing to
- 17:08Speaker 1: worry about, but they still can't go unless the insurance
- 17:11Speaker 1: company says okay, and that's Lloyd's of London for most
- 17:13Speaker 1: of these tankers, and the tanker the tanker the actual
- 17:19Speaker 1: ship costs a couple of million and there's millions of
- 17:21Speaker 1: dollars worth of oil on the ship. So Lloyd's of
- 17:24Speaker 1: London has been saying no. That's part of the problem
- 17:27Speaker 1: because they'd be on the hook for five, six seven
- 17:29Speaker 1: million dollars if anything happens to the ship, So they're
- 17:32Speaker 1: not given the okay that fast. We've gotten some ships
- 17:35Speaker 1: to go through, and we have been pushing Lloyd's of
- 17:38Speaker 1: London to allow some ships to go through. So it's
- 17:42Speaker 1: not the usual traffic flow, but there are ships going
- 17:45Speaker 1: through the strait of horn Moose. Let's go to Jay
- 17:47Speaker 1: in New Jersey. Jay, how you doing?
- 17:50Speaker 13: Yeah, Mark, good morning. You know we don't even report
- 17:53Speaker 13: anymore about the fellows trying to kill the president. You know,
- 17:56Speaker 13: yesterday this guy comes to the White House with a
- 17:58Speaker 13: gun and that's not even news anymore. Isn't that crazy?
- 18:04Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 18:04Speaker 13: Well, how did you find out if it was a
- 18:06Speaker 13: bigger deal?
- 18:07Speaker 1: It was reported, that's how you knew about it.
- 18:10Speaker 13: Yeah, but it would have been a much bigger deal
- 18:13Speaker 13: if it was a different president. Trump gets shot out
- 18:15Speaker 13: every day.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Well, the guy didn't come close to actually doing anything,
- 18:19Speaker 1: but uh, yeah, it happens too frequently. There's all kinds
- 18:23Speaker 1: of nuts roaming around there around the White House. Let's
- 18:26Speaker 1: go to Randall in Maryland. Randall, how you doing, Mark?
- 18:31Speaker 11: Yes, d it's something that's bothered me about the Butler
- 18:36Speaker 11: assassination attempt. Yeah, the when the shots rang out, The
- 18:43Speaker 11: shot that hit Trump was what's a matter of seconds
- 18:48Speaker 11: before the shot that killed the assassin.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, let me ask you a better question. This
- 18:55Speaker 1: is a good question, and I see you're watching the assassin.
- 18:58Speaker 1: You're wondering about this so what did you say to yourself?
- 19:01Speaker 1: You know what, I really want to know this, but
- 19:02Speaker 1: I'll wait two years before I call and ask. Aren't
- 19:06Speaker 1: you a little late to be?
- 19:07Speaker 11: Well? Yeah, a lot late, but yah, I still don't
- 19:13Speaker 11: have an answer.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Well, who do you have an asking?
- 19:17Speaker 11: Well, well, why is the timeline between those two shots,
- 19:20Speaker 11: the shots that killed the assassin and the one that
- 19:22Speaker 11: said Trump. If there's only a matter of seconds, how
- 19:25Speaker 11: did they draw a bead on the guy?
- 19:27Speaker 1: Uh? Well, that's a good question. Now I'm trying to
- 19:31Speaker 1: remember it was you got to call like the next week,
- 19:34Speaker 1: not two years later. I'm trying to remember. There was
- 19:37Speaker 1: a local police on the ground coordinating with the Secret Service.
- 19:41Speaker 1: There were snipers on other rooftops. Apparently after the shots
- 19:46Speaker 1: were fired, there was chaos, but a couple of local
- 19:49Speaker 1: cops realized what rooftop it was, radioed those snipers. They
- 19:53Speaker 1: took their scopes, looked at the rooftops, saw the assassin,
- 19:57Speaker 1: and then killed them. Now you're supposed to check out
- 19:59Speaker 1: the roof top before this even starts. It was a
- 20:03Speaker 1: tremendous error by the Secret Service because.
- 20:07Speaker 11: But it was bang bang. It was just bang bang.
- 20:09Speaker 11: It was like a choice player first.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yeah, well, these guys are good, they're pretty quick, but
- 20:15Speaker 1: you're supposed to That was pretty good. Yeah, but you're
- 20:18Speaker 1: supposed to check out all the rooftops ahead of time.
- 20:21Speaker 1: The rule is for the Secret Service's supposed to scope
- 20:24Speaker 1: out a thousand yards in every direction, and this building
- 20:28Speaker 1: was like two hundred yards out. So they obviously didn't
- 20:30Speaker 1: do their job. This was the Biden Secret Service. Not
- 20:33Speaker 1: to blame it, not him, but you can put some
- 20:38Speaker 1: blame in that area because he when he was vice president,
- 20:41Speaker 1: there was a Secret Service agent that he liked a lot,
- 20:45Speaker 1: just she became like part of the family. So when
- 20:47Speaker 1: he became president, he made her the director of the
- 20:49Speaker 1: Secret Service. She was not really qualified. And if you
- 20:52Speaker 1: were watching Butler, you saw those those young agents, remember
- 20:57Speaker 1: those two females who were They seemed to go into panic.
- 21:01Speaker 1: They were just flailing around the president. And then remember
- 21:05Speaker 1: they couldn't holster their weapon. They looked awful. It took
- 21:09Speaker 1: too long to get him in the car. It took
- 21:11Speaker 1: too long for the car to speed away. Took at
- 21:13Speaker 1: Reagan getting shot outside the Hilton in Washington. He was
- 21:17Speaker 1: in the car and gone within three seconds. In the
- 21:19Speaker 1: case of trumpet was like a minute and a half
- 21:21Speaker 1: way too long there. Hey, when we come back, the
- 21:24Speaker 1: brilliant columnist Liz Peak. We'll talk to her next on
- 21:29Speaker 1: seven to ten. Woor the Mark.
- 21:32Speaker 7: Simo Show on seven tenor.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Well, well listen the brilliant column list Liz Peak. You
- 21:38Speaker 1: see here all over television, but most important thing is
- 21:41Speaker 1: read her column. You can get it at Foxnews dot com.
- 21:45Speaker 1: You can get it at The Hill dot com, or
- 21:47Speaker 1: check out her website lizpeak dot com. Lizpeak, how you doing.
- 21:52Speaker 14: I'm terrific. Thanks for having me on, Mark.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Hey, I love your column about affordability. Now in New York,
- 21:58Speaker 1: for instance, for twenty years, Democrats have controlled everything in
- 22:01Speaker 1: New York state legislature, city council, mayor governor, everything controlled
- 22:06Speaker 1: by Democrats. If there's an affordability crisis, wasn't it their fault?
- 22:12Speaker 12: Yes?
- 22:13Speaker 10: Yes, I mean you know, sometimes I write a colm
- 22:17Speaker 10: and I think, surely everybody knows this, this is so obvious,
- 22:21Speaker 10: But then you put something out there with actually facts
- 22:24Speaker 10: to support a premise, the premise being that Democrats are
- 22:29Speaker 10: absolutely the last people that should be talking about affordability
- 22:34Speaker 10: because all the most expensive places to live in America
- 22:38Speaker 10: are run by Democrats. It's not like they just have
- 22:41Speaker 10: a Democrat mayor or a Democrat governor. Generally speaking, the
- 22:44Speaker 10: most expensive cities and states have been under Democrats and
- 22:48Speaker 10: toll for decades. And why then are prices so high?
- 22:53Speaker 10: Why is the cost of living so exorbited? Why are
- 22:55Speaker 10: rents We got a new report today in New York
- 22:58Speaker 10: out of control. Well it isn't Republican fault, folks, It's
- 23:03Speaker 10: because Democrats embrace number one excessive spending on all kinds
- 23:10Speaker 10: of benefits and so forth. That mean they have to
- 23:13Speaker 10: raise taxes repeatedly. Where does that tax money come from?
- 23:17Speaker 10: When it comes from you and me, But believe me,
- 23:20Speaker 10: it also comes from businesses operating in New York who
- 23:23Speaker 10: then passed along to consumers, so that jacks up prices.
- 23:27Speaker 10: Environmentalists also have a huge say in the governments of
- 23:31Speaker 10: New York City, New York State, California, Illinois, Maryland, whatever,
- 23:35Speaker 10: and environmentalists stand in the way of permitting. It takes
- 23:38Speaker 10: two to three times as long to get approval for
- 23:42Speaker 10: a building project in New York as it does almost
- 23:45Speaker 10: any place in the world. So time is money in
- 23:48Speaker 10: construction free month that goes by the cost of raw
- 23:52Speaker 10: materials goes up. The cost of brick and cement and
- 23:55Speaker 10: whatever else you know, glass and windows, everything goes up.
- 23:59Speaker 10: In I was involved with a university in New York.
- 24:04Speaker 10: We wanted to build a building. By the time we
- 24:06Speaker 10: got all the approvals him ten years on, the price
- 24:09Speaker 10: had almost tripled.
- 24:10Speaker 14: I mean, so it is so frustrated.
- 24:13Speaker 10: And then the other thing, of course, there are two
- 24:15Speaker 10: other legs of this really solid Democrat run stool. One
- 24:21Speaker 10: is energy policies that jack up electricity and gasoline prices,
- 24:26Speaker 10: which you know in New York you're paying an enormous
- 24:29Speaker 10: premium over the rest of the country on that. And
- 24:32Speaker 10: then are pro union rules meaning you can't, as the
- 24:36Speaker 10: city or the state many states, you can't do business
- 24:40Speaker 10: with outfits that are using non union labor. So already
- 24:44Speaker 10: you're talking about a thirty to fifty percent premium over
- 24:47Speaker 10: what you have to what you might be able to
- 24:50Speaker 10: save in constructing highways and schools and everything.
- 24:53Speaker 14: You know, Mark, it's so obvious to me.
- 24:56Speaker 10: Why is it that young voters they don't know anything.
- 25:02Speaker 10: But I mean a lot of a lot of Americans,
- 25:04Speaker 10: a lot of people in this town, and stay blindly
- 25:08Speaker 10: go and vote Democrat over and over again, hoping it'll
- 25:11Speaker 10: turn out differently.
- 25:12Speaker 14: But guess what it never does.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Yeah. But a big factor is the media went totally
- 25:16Speaker 1: corrupt about ten years ago and never ever ever reports
- 25:20Speaker 1: this that when they interview a Democrat, they never ask
- 25:22Speaker 1: him about that. Yeah, So how do you fix that?
- 25:26Speaker 10: I don't know, and we just there are just repeated
- 25:31Speaker 10: examples of where the media is putting their thumb on
- 25:35Speaker 10: the scale. You know what, I think there has been
- 25:38Speaker 10: too little talk about what went on in Maine. I mean,
- 25:41Speaker 10: there's been plenty of talk about Graham platter and all
- 25:44Speaker 10: the bad things he did.
- 25:46Speaker 14: Bad guy and a bad character.
- 25:48Speaker 11: But the New York.
- 25:48Speaker 10: Times it's one of the main villains of that story because,
- 25:52Speaker 10: as you well know, they did a catch and kill
- 25:55Speaker 10: effort to kind of put out there that there might
- 25:58Speaker 10: be sexual assault up revelations, but that it couldn't be corroborated.
- 26:04Speaker 10: And by the way, they completely squashed the story being
- 26:08Speaker 10: told by the Democrat woman who came forward and finally
- 26:12Speaker 10: killed off Graham Plattner's political hopes in this cycle. I
- 26:16Speaker 10: say this cycle because it's completely clear to me that
- 26:20Speaker 10: he might run again, that people are just going to say, well,
- 26:23Speaker 10: that was just an unfortunate incident. But the New York
- 26:27Speaker 10: Times absolutely craft at a story. They could kind of
- 26:31Speaker 10: get that story out there of sexual assault, but do
- 26:35Speaker 10: it in such a way that most voters would say, well,
- 26:38Speaker 10: you know it was the reports were from a Republican
- 26:41Speaker 10: who didn't like his politics.
- 26:43Speaker 14: So it's a little bit like the woman who.
- 26:45Speaker 10: Accused Joe Biden of assaulting her, remember, and she was
- 26:50Speaker 10: completely dismissed because presumably she might have had a political angle,
- 26:55Speaker 10: although she was a pidon aid, so it tells you she.
- 26:58Speaker 14: Wasn't politically motivated.
- 27:00Speaker 10: The media has a great deal to account for, to
- 27:03Speaker 10: be accountable for, and guess what it never will be.
- 27:06Speaker 13: But there you are.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, well it went totally corrupt in an effort to
- 27:10Speaker 1: stop Trump in twenty sixteen, and then yeah, you know,
- 27:14Speaker 1: they had to continue throughout his term. And then I
- 27:15Speaker 1: guess they decided, you know what, we like this model
- 27:18Speaker 1: better and we'll stick with it and it'll never change.
- 27:21Speaker 10: Well, it saved them, Mark the New York Times, I
- 27:24Speaker 10: think honestly would have been extinct if they had not
- 27:27Speaker 10: basically made their entire Remember they even the publisher even
- 27:33Speaker 10: put out a note about how basically anything was valid
- 27:37Speaker 10: in the effort to stop Trump.
- 27:39Speaker 14: That's kind of their mantra. Pretty horrifying.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, you wrote a column I think it was
- 27:45Speaker 1: a week ago, but mom Donnie's preening arrogance will ultimately
- 27:49Speaker 1: prove his downfall. What did you mean by to explain that?
- 27:52Speaker 1: That's interesting?
- 27:52Speaker 10: Well, I keep a running log of offensive things mom
- 27:57Speaker 10: Donnie has done, and it does and you know, all
- 28:01Speaker 10: I did really was kind of go back to that
- 28:03Speaker 10: and say, Okay, he offended the Puerto Ricans by not
- 28:06Speaker 10: doing the traditional Puerto Rican Day event at Gracie Mansion.
- 28:10Speaker 10: He offended Catholics, of which there are more than a
- 28:14Speaker 10: million in New York City by not attending, as every
- 28:17Speaker 10: mayor has done, the investiture of the new archbishop. They
- 28:21Speaker 10: have offended, of course, Jews by daily on day one,
- 28:25Speaker 10: literally day one, removing the definition of anti Semitism that
- 28:30Speaker 10: Eric Adams had.
- 28:30Speaker 14: Put in place.
- 28:32Speaker 10: And then you know fourteen other things that they've done
- 28:34Speaker 10: to offend Jews. But if you kind of go through,
- 28:37Speaker 10: the most recent thing that sort of tipped me to
- 28:40Speaker 10: write that was this map. And I have to say
- 28:42Speaker 10: I buried the map story. I was and bury it.
- 28:45Speaker 10: But it was like at the lead and then I caught,
- 28:48Speaker 10: you know, two days later. Everyone thinks it's this big
- 28:50Speaker 10: new breaking news. No, it happened in May that they
- 28:52Speaker 10: brought out this map of historic neighborhoods, ethnic neighborhoods of importance.
- 28:58Speaker 14: No Little Italy. I mean to you, I don't know about.
- 29:00Speaker 10: You, but when I first came to New York, Little
- 29:03Speaker 10: Italy was a big deal and you went down there
- 29:06Speaker 10: kind of yeah, because it was sort of racy and
- 29:08Speaker 10: the food was great, and there's been this there was
- 29:11Speaker 10: this rubout at Abardo's Clamhouse and you know, I mean
- 29:15Speaker 10: it was all kind of I don't know, it was
- 29:17Speaker 10: like stuff from TV Land and we all thought that
- 29:20Speaker 10: was really cool and to not include that, and of
- 29:23Speaker 10: course they didn't include Jewish neighborhoods, Irish neighborhoods. It's just
- 29:27Speaker 10: like this, you know, this drip drip drip of offensive
- 29:33Speaker 10: things that Mamdanie's done, which seems to me a pretty
- 29:36Speaker 10: weird track for a politician to follow.
- 29:39Speaker 14: Mostly politicians try to broaden his base.
- 29:42Speaker 10: He's done everything he can to narrow it, and that
- 29:44Speaker 10: speaks to me not of some intensely weird political calculus
- 29:50Speaker 10: that speaks to me of arrogance, and I think he
- 29:53Speaker 10: is an incredibly arrogant guy.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, but when you say it'll bring his downfall,
- 29:57Speaker 1: how's that going to happen with the media totally them up?
- 30:01Speaker 10: Well, because I think eventually, you know, we had dinner
- 30:04Speaker 10: with some friends last night who were Jewish, and I
- 30:07Speaker 10: think they didn't I don't know who they voted for
- 30:10Speaker 10: in the last election, but by gosh, they are so
- 30:13Speaker 10: critical of the thirty percent of Jews who voted for him.
- 30:16Speaker 10: I think Jews, you know, that group is sort of
- 30:18Speaker 10: going away from him. I think if there's a decent
- 30:21Speaker 10: alternative to mom Donnie next time around, a Democrat that
- 30:27Speaker 10: is not a lunatic and who actually appeals to Catholics
- 30:31Speaker 10: and to Italians and Jews and.
- 30:33Speaker 14: So forth, I think that's how that's how it happens.
- 30:36Speaker 10: I mean, yes, he's a great TikTok mayor, but meanwhile,
- 30:40Speaker 10: you know, we have rents at the highest ever and
- 30:44Speaker 10: he was supposed to be the guy that was going
- 30:46Speaker 10: to change that. You know, we'll see, right. I just
- 30:48Speaker 10: think I just think eventually, you lose too many people
- 30:52Speaker 10: that you have offended.
- 30:54Speaker 14: I sure, hope.
- 30:54Speaker 1: So yeah, Well, Democrats are losing territory, they lost the
- 30:59Speaker 1: working people, that lost the Jewish vote. Gradually, they're losing
- 31:04Speaker 1: every little bit of that base. So well, I hope
- 31:08Speaker 1: you're right. I hope it continue to help. All right, Well,
- 31:11Speaker 1: Liz Peak, everybody read her columns at go to Foxnews
- 31:14Speaker 1: dot com, The Hill dot com, lizpeak dot com, and
- 31:18Speaker 1: you read her brilliant columns. Liz Peak, thanks for being
- 31:21Speaker 1: with us.
- 31:21Speaker 14: Thank you so much for having me. Mark have a
- 31:23Speaker 14: terrific hot day, all thanks.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Take care. Yeah, it's going to be ninety today, but
- 31:30Speaker 1: the real feel makes it feel like one hundred. I
- 31:33Speaker 1: still don't understand that. If it feels like one hundred,
- 31:35Speaker 1: why isn't it one hundred? I don't know, but let
- 31:38Speaker 1: me just check you. Actually, ninety two will be the
- 31:40Speaker 1: high today, ninety eight tomorrow. Tomorrow's the big heatwave day.
- 31:47Speaker 1: It'll drop back to ninety two on Thursday, then down
- 31:50Speaker 1: into the eighties on the weekend. But it looks like
- 31:53Speaker 1: rain Saturday and Sunday. Forecast could change, but that's the
- 31:57Speaker 1: way it is right now, So be careful if you're
- 31:59Speaker 1: out today or too long, it is going to be
- 32:01Speaker 1: a hot day. Real Feel again will be yeah, Real
- 32:06Speaker 1: Feel well, actually not so bad, it says Real Feel
- 32:08Speaker 1: eighty nine now, but it's gonna be a lot of
- 32:12Speaker 1: heat today. Buck and Clay will be here at noon today.
- 32:16Speaker 1: They do a great show every day twelve noon. They
- 32:18Speaker 1: got the most listened to radio show in America, Sean
- 32:21Speaker 1: Hannity at three o'clock and Jimmy Fayla what a great
- 32:25Speaker 1: show every night nine to midnight on seven to ten.
- 32:28Speaker 9: Wo the Mark Simon Show on seven tenor well, hey,
- 32:36Speaker 9: that home run Derby.
- 32:37Speaker 1: That's a big thing. A lot of people love to
- 32:39Speaker 1: watch that. It's always on the night before the All
- 32:41Speaker 1: Star Game, big network TV thing. Well, last night it
- 32:43Speaker 1: was on Netflix. It was not on network TV. It
- 32:47Speaker 1: was on Netflix. And apparently the numbers don't look so great.
- 32:50Speaker 1: It didn't attract the usual numbers being on Netflix. And
- 32:57Speaker 1: you know, this is a live broadcast. Netflix is been
- 33:00Speaker 1: trying with football and baseball to do these live broadcasts,
- 33:03Speaker 1: but they have problems even last night, the audio, the
- 33:06Speaker 1: video crashing at different points during the broadcast. Now, you know, Networks,
- 33:13Speaker 1: all they got left is live TV. They're live. They
- 33:16Speaker 1: can do news, they can do football, They can do sports,
- 33:20Speaker 1: but when it comes to dramas and comedies and sitcoms
- 33:24Speaker 1: and movies, nobody can do it better than the streaming
- 33:26Speaker 1: companies Netflix, all of them, HBO. They can outspend the
- 33:31Speaker 1: networks like crazy on every show. They get the best writers, directors, everything.
- 33:36Speaker 1: But once they figure out live. They haven't quite figured
- 33:39Speaker 1: it out yet, but once they figure out how to
- 33:40Speaker 1: make live work, that's the end of network TV. They'll
- 33:44Speaker 1: be gone. They'll have nothing left without sports, without anything else,
- 33:48Speaker 1: they'll be gone. But you can end up back to
- 33:52Speaker 1: the same situation. It'll be live on Netflix and on
- 33:55Speaker 1: a few streaming services, and then basically it'll be back
- 33:58Speaker 1: to what it was before. You know, there's something kind
- 34:00Speaker 1: of nice about TV. It's always on. You know, it
- 34:04Speaker 1: doesn't go out very much, unlike Netflix. Nobody has a
- 34:07Speaker 1: better delivery system than radio. You just turn on the radio.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Wherever you are, there's the signal, even where there's no
- 34:14Speaker 1: cell service, no WiFi. Hey, we'll be back after the news.
- 34:17Speaker 1: We got another hour to go and a lot to
- 34:19Speaker 1: get to in the next hour. Here on seven ten,
- 34:22Speaker 1: Woir
