- 0:08Speaker 1: But I invited you here. I thought I made myself
- 0:14Speaker 1: perfectly clear. When you're a guest to my home, you
- 0:21Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty. And I said, no guests,
- 0:27Speaker 1: you're presences presents enough. I already had too much stuff,
- 0:35Speaker 1: So how did you dare to surbey me?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Welcome to I said, no gifts and Bridgard Wineger, we're
- 0:54Speaker 2: in the backyard. There was some minor police activity about
- 1:00Speaker 2: an hour ago. I don't know what was happening, but
- 1:02Speaker 2: I think that's been cleared up. My voice is back
- 1:06Speaker 2: to probably ninety eight percent. Probably can't still can't hit
- 1:11Speaker 2: the high notes that I'm famous for, but I think
- 1:13Speaker 2: we'll make it through the whole episode without me sounding weak,
- 1:17Speaker 2: at least physically or vocally. Emotionally mentally, those things just
- 1:23Speaker 2: continue to seem who knows that'll be spotty. I mean,
- 1:27Speaker 2: what's dominating my thoughts is I have a buy one
- 1:30Speaker 2: getting one free salad coupon on my counter, and I
- 1:33Speaker 2: just can't stop thinking about how I'm going to use
- 1:36Speaker 2: that as wisely as possible to get two salads, and
- 1:40Speaker 2: when I'll eat the second salad. Is there any other
- 1:45Speaker 2: crucial business we need to talk about? There isn't I adore.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I love today's guest. I'm so excited he's here. It's
- 1:53Speaker 2: Drew DROGI, Drew Hybridser, Welcome to I said, no gift.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Thank you so much. I'm so happy you're here. I'm
- 1:59Speaker 3: so happy to be here. What happened to your voice?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Like I I was in New York, alast.
- 2:04Speaker 3: To get it loud City.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I was screaming the entire time. Sure, you have to
- 2:10Speaker 2: you get on the plane the way.
- 2:12Speaker 3: You gotta, you gotta, you gotta tell people exactly what
- 2:14Speaker 3: you want.
- 2:16Speaker 2: You've got to be open and honest. That's right, brutal. Yes, yeah,
- 2:19Speaker 2: I sit down on the plane on the way to
- 2:21Speaker 2: New York, and I immediately it's screaming, scream until I
- 2:24Speaker 2: get back to lax Great and then I'm back into
- 2:27Speaker 2: my you know, relaxed surfer.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Five, sweet easy Los Angeles.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yes, exactly. Yeah, I had a I got a cold
- 2:35Speaker 2: while there, and uh, it just decimated my voice. Because
- 2:40Speaker 2: you were going to record earlier this week, I know,
- 2:42Speaker 2: and it felt it feels like such a flimsy excuse
- 2:44Speaker 2: to be like he doesn't have his voice.
- 2:47Speaker 3: It's an audio podcast, like it kind of like a
- 2:49Speaker 3: made up thing. No but I no, no, no, but no.
- 2:52Speaker 3: It happens all the time. I lose my voice a lot.
- 2:54Speaker 3: I'm horrible about, Like I have to go back and
- 2:57Speaker 3: actually do like training that I quote unquote learned in
- 3:01Speaker 3: college about how to take care of my instrument, and
- 3:05Speaker 3: I don't. I'm horrible about it. I will blow it
- 3:07Speaker 3: out so easily, and I don't always. I'm always nervous
- 3:10Speaker 3: about doing it, like what I'm doing stage shows and stuff.
- 3:12Speaker 3: But it usually happens at the bar after the show
- 3:16Speaker 3: because you're talking for hours and you're not realizing how
- 3:18Speaker 3: much you're straining just to just to make noise forever.
- 3:22Speaker 3: And so that's usually where it happens.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You actually lose and then what are you doing to
- 3:27Speaker 2: repair it? To recover?
- 3:28Speaker 3: There's a very little you can do other than rest
- 3:30Speaker 3: and drink lots of water. I sometimes the saltwater helps.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Gargling pineapple helps. Pineapple, yeah, pineapples very it's uh, it's
- 3:42Speaker 3: a it's an anti inflammatory. Oh and you know what
- 3:46Speaker 3: really helps. Actually, there's a lot of tricks that help
- 3:48Speaker 3: with it. Ibuprofen. Take three. I be profn at night
- 3:52Speaker 3: and three in the morning. And it because you're anti
- 3:56Speaker 3: inflammatory because your voice is actually just blown out. That's what.
- 3:59Speaker 3: And then and another thing, if you really need I
- 4:02Speaker 3: learned this as just a fast trick is lays potato
- 4:06Speaker 3: chips or fried chicken, because those things have so much
- 4:11Speaker 3: grease in them that they will bond your vocal cords
- 4:14Speaker 3: together to make noise.
- 4:15Speaker 2: This is a dream to hear.
- 4:16Speaker 3: I mean I learned this when I was, you know,
- 4:18Speaker 3: doing a musical in the New York City and they
- 4:22Speaker 3: told us, they were like, if you really need to
- 4:23Speaker 3: make noise, it's specifically lays playing potato chips because they've
- 4:27Speaker 3: got so much grease. They're just so oily. It's so oily,
- 4:30Speaker 3: that's why. And or fried chicken.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Wow, this is fascinating, Like real.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Fried chicken, not like some like no no, no, no,
- 4:38Speaker 3: like oven bake, none of that shit. You need like real, dripping,
- 4:42Speaker 3: greasy fried chicken.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I love greasy, dripping right.
- 4:44Speaker 3: It's a great excuse to just run out in the
- 4:47Speaker 3: middle shows be like I have to eat the nastiest
- 4:48Speaker 3: fried chicken.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I get fine.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly what musical were you doing in the time Titanique?
- 4:54Speaker 3: Have you seen it?
- 4:55Speaker 2: Wait? I saw you. I was there. When was this
- 4:59Speaker 2: this was actually very uncomfortable for me because I was
- 5:02Speaker 2: afraid I was going to make eye contact with you
- 5:04Speaker 2: on stage. Oh god.
- 5:05Speaker 3: I first of all, I can't see anything when I'm
- 5:07Speaker 3: up there. I'm blind as.
- 5:08Speaker 2: A bad I know, you forget that as an audience. Yeah,
- 5:10Speaker 2: but at the time, I was like, if I will
- 5:13Speaker 2: have to leave the theater. This must have been last year.
- 5:16Speaker 3: It was last year we did it. Yeah, I mean
- 5:18Speaker 3: it's still running, but I was in it last year.
- 5:21Speaker 3: It's a blast. It's a parody of Titanic with all
- 5:24Speaker 3: the music of Celine Dion. It's become this thing. I know.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I was just thinking about Marlon Connie and Tye and
- 5:30Speaker 3: Nicholas who wrote it. Now it's like the productions of
- 5:33Speaker 3: it in Australia, all your Kid, London and Canada and
- 5:36Speaker 3: oh yeah, all over the world the productions of Titanique
- 5:39Speaker 3: that are happening, And I'm like, how cool.
- 5:41Speaker 2: That's wild. When did it open it that's a great question.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I should know that they've been doing it. They've been
- 5:46Speaker 3: working on it off and on and workshopping it for
- 5:49Speaker 3: many years. Okay, it opened at the Theater at the
- 5:53Speaker 3: Old like underneath Christides or the RC right, right, So
- 5:58Speaker 3: that's where it opened, okay, and then they moved it
- 6:01Speaker 3: to the Daryl Roth. Yes, I'm going to say like
- 6:03Speaker 3: November of twenty two it moved to Daryl Roth and
- 6:05Speaker 3: it's been running there since then.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Wow, for to already have international franchises, Yes, that's pretty impressive.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Yes, but I think it opened, you know twenty one.
- 6:15Speaker 3: It must have been obviously post pend.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Right, yes, yes, yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, I saw
- 6:20Speaker 2: you in it. That's such a strange. I could completely
- 6:22Speaker 2: forgot obviously your performance was just completely forgettable. I was
- 6:26Speaker 2: fairly in it, Vanish I just.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Play an eyelash and forget about me.
- 6:33Speaker 2: How long were you in it?
- 6:34Speaker 3: For? Five months? Okay?
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's like right near Union Square there, yep, yes, yeah,
- 6:40Speaker 2: house straight.
- 6:41Speaker 3: It was such a dream because I've never I love musicals,
- 6:44Speaker 3: like I'm not a singer, right, so, and so it
- 6:48Speaker 3: was like this dream to do a musical in New
- 6:50Speaker 3: York City and to do the eight shows a week
- 6:53Speaker 3: thing that I had never really done because even when
- 6:55Speaker 3: I did my solo show there, the most average was
- 6:58Speaker 3: seven shows a week. I never did eight, right, And
- 7:00Speaker 3: I was like, I need that New York theater, like
- 7:01Speaker 3: it's hell.
- 7:02Speaker 2: It's horrible, a nightmare.
- 7:04Speaker 3: It's a nightmare. You're never not tired. Your day off
- 7:07Speaker 3: is your most exhausted day. Of course, your body lets
- 7:09Speaker 3: yourself actually be tired. But I'm so glad I had
- 7:12Speaker 3: the experience because as someone who never thought that would
- 7:15Speaker 3: happen to be in a musical, and it was like,
- 7:17Speaker 3: that's very cool.
- 7:18Speaker 2: To not have the number one thing you need for
- 7:20Speaker 2: a musical.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Right, And this character was the one part that didn't
- 7:24Speaker 3: sing right right and that you don't remember, and.
- 7:26Speaker 2: That I completely The rest of the show was fire.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I mean, can we start, Let's go down the line
- 7:32Speaker 3: and talk about how great everybody else was and memorable
- 7:34Speaker 3: they were.
- 7:36Speaker 2: No, you were spectacular. The whole show was so delightful.
- 7:38Speaker 2: It's just a party.
- 7:39Speaker 3: It's about it's a party. It's a big party. It's
- 7:42Speaker 3: so much fun. Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 2: The eight shows a week thing coming from living in
- 7:46Speaker 2: LA and working in this site of entertainment where you
- 7:48Speaker 2: write three hours every nine months.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Right exactly. Or even when you do theater in LA,
- 7:54Speaker 3: it's usually four or five shows a week. You do
- 7:56Speaker 3: like a weekend, and you rarely do two in one day.
- 7:59Speaker 3: In La. You know, it's it's very easy. It's very
- 8:02Speaker 3: JV compared to like New York is like whip cracking.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Do you start to just I feel like you would
- 8:07Speaker 2: just lose the feeling of it all a few shows in,
- 8:11Speaker 2: Do you just feel robotic?
- 8:12Speaker 3: I would feel robotic after a while. And I felt
- 8:15Speaker 3: that way in my own show too, And I was like,
- 8:17Speaker 3: and I remember the first time I felt that way
- 8:18Speaker 3: that I'd always heard, Like, you know, an actors, you
- 8:20Speaker 3: start thinking about your laundry, and you start you right,
- 8:23Speaker 3: and you have those intrusive thoughts, and I was like, well,
- 8:25Speaker 3: that'll never be me. I'll always be in the in
- 8:27Speaker 3: the truth of the moment every time. But even in
- 8:30Speaker 3: my own show, I started to go, oh, blah blah blah,
- 8:32Speaker 3: I'm just thinking. And I was watching my body do
- 8:35Speaker 3: the same mannerisms and that same and so I went
- 8:38Speaker 3: off stage and I said the stagement. I said, oh
- 8:40Speaker 3: my god, I'm so sorry. I was so out of
- 8:41Speaker 3: it tonight, and he said I had no idea. Wow,
- 8:44Speaker 3: So you do. It's like choreography with anything, you have
- 8:47Speaker 3: to kind of actually not think about it because the
- 8:50Speaker 3: worst thing to do is to be up there and
- 8:52Speaker 3: go I'm not present. I need to get in my body,
- 8:55Speaker 3: and then that makes you even more in your head
- 8:57Speaker 3: and then you're a very aware aware of everything you have.
- 9:00Speaker 3: You have to stop thinking and just go out there
- 9:03Speaker 3: and do the show right, which is really weird because
- 9:06Speaker 3: you go through this long period of like do I
- 9:08Speaker 3: know my lines? Am I listening to my partner? Is
- 9:10Speaker 3: this the way to deliver this the best way? Like
- 9:12Speaker 3: you go through this trial period for like previews, and
- 9:15Speaker 3: then you hit you like coast for a bit where
- 9:17Speaker 3: you're like, oh, I'm so connected and so fun and
- 9:19Speaker 3: then you're like, I am so out the door and
- 9:21Speaker 3: I don't even know. But five months was as long
- 9:23Speaker 3: as I felt.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Like I couldn't do it, to be basically working overtime.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and just the same words over and over again.
- 9:31Speaker 3: My my interests of thoughts were coming in and I
- 9:32Speaker 3: would be like what if I start screaming? What if
- 9:35Speaker 3: I jump up the stage? What if I high fi
- 9:36Speaker 3: bridge are in the audience? Like I would just content
- 9:38Speaker 3: thou show. You would exactly see time machine, That's what
- 9:43Speaker 3: I need to do is go back in time. No,
- 9:46Speaker 3: but I would I would have those complete thoughts of
- 9:49Speaker 3: just like what if I you.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Know, oh, which very fun thoughts, which are.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Fun but also terrifying and also just like get in it,
- 9:55Speaker 3: say it it, you know, but you know, well.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it's kind of like a very dull, out of
- 10:00Speaker 2: body experience. Yes, fascinating for sure, which I probably, as
- 10:04Speaker 2: having no stage skill whatsoever, will never experience.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I don't believe that.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Well, believe it here today too.
- 10:11Speaker 3: You know, I think no. I think it's like, in
- 10:14Speaker 3: a way, it kind of protects you, because you know,
- 10:16Speaker 3: you're like, when the audience is great, you can feel
- 10:19Speaker 3: like I'm amazing, we're killing it, We're doing so great,
- 10:21Speaker 3: and then they're bad and you're like, I'm horrible. And
- 10:23Speaker 3: then sometimes there's part of you it's like neither you're
- 10:26Speaker 3: always there's always kind of like baseline. It is what
- 10:29Speaker 3: it is, and so you kind of like through that,
- 10:32Speaker 3: you're kind of like, oh, we're just punching the clock
- 10:34Speaker 3: and going back, and when you're doing that many shows,
- 10:36Speaker 3: you're just like, all right, the next one is in
- 10:37Speaker 3: five minutes, so here we go. Put another quarter in
- 10:41Speaker 3: the back of my neck and wind me up or whatever.
- 10:46Speaker 2: How familiar were you with Titanic before? Were you much
- 10:50Speaker 2: of a fan of the movie.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I do like the movie, like the I like the
- 10:54Speaker 3: nineteen twelve part of the movie. The wrap around is
- 10:56Speaker 3: pretty horrible. I mean, the Bill Paxton incredible is so bad.
- 11:01Speaker 3: But I do think the actual Titanic part of it
- 11:05Speaker 3: is really great. I saw it. I definitely saw it
- 11:08Speaker 3: in the theater. I maybe saw it all the way
- 11:11Speaker 3: through one other time before. But I've known them from
- 11:15Speaker 3: the beginning, so I did the very first like a
- 11:17Speaker 3: reading of Titanique at someone's apartment, like before it was
- 11:21Speaker 3: ever done, and then I wasn't able to do it
- 11:23Speaker 3: officially until last year. So I've watched I've seen Titanique
- 11:28Speaker 3: six or seven times and after I've actually gone back
- 11:33Speaker 3: and seen it after I did it.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I've only seen the movie once in
- 11:36Speaker 2: the theaters, right, And it's just I never have any
- 11:40Speaker 2: other reason to watch it.
- 11:41Speaker 3: No, it's three and a half hours long, and why
- 11:43Speaker 3: would you just sit down and watch that? Right?
- 11:45Speaker 2: But people love it, They've worshiped.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's it got a lot of you know,
- 11:49Speaker 3: people love to bag on it too and hate on it,
- 11:51Speaker 3: but it it's better than that. I mean, you know,
- 11:54Speaker 3: it's better than a lot of things that have won
- 11:56Speaker 3: Best Picture, Right, you know and so, and it's a
- 11:59Speaker 3: big blockbuster.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Period piece, kind of engaging melodro.
- 12:03Speaker 3: But everyone's really good in it, you know, the kids
- 12:05Speaker 3: are great in it, Victor Carver's.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Fantashure and I do. I mean, the only thing I've
- 12:10Speaker 2: seen repeatedly is the dropping the thing into the ocean.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Right, which is ridiculous. It makes no sense and you
- 12:17Speaker 3: want to throttle that woman, like why why are you
- 12:20Speaker 3: doing that?
- 12:22Speaker 2: I Like, when it came to my attention as an adult,
- 12:26Speaker 2: I was like, this couldn't possibly have been part of
- 12:28Speaker 2: the original because I had obviously forgotten. But it's part
- 12:31Speaker 2: of the film, right, right. It's so strange. It's so
- 12:34Speaker 2: strange because it seems objectively bad.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Yes, and it's also like what like you're throwing the
- 12:39Speaker 3: whole thing away into the just sort of like.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Eh, and is you're doing that just to maintain the mystery?
- 12:46Speaker 2: What is the I don't even know.
- 12:47Speaker 3: It's yeah, I think it's sort of like I've told
- 12:49Speaker 3: my story, that's all you get, and I I don't know.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I don't think James Karen thought it through. We have
- 12:56Speaker 3: fun and Titanic making fun of that every night, right,
- 12:59Speaker 3: But you know.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah, have you lived in New York much.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I've never lived in New York. Oh wow, I've only
- 13:06Speaker 3: I've spent a lot of time there. But I've lived
- 13:08Speaker 3: in Los Angeles proper for twenty five years.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Where are you from?
- 13:12Speaker 3: North Carolina?
- 13:13Speaker 2: Oh? Okay, okay, yeah wow, So yeah, I've only I've
- 13:16Speaker 2: lived in New York for probably a total of a
- 13:18Speaker 2: year and a half at this point. Okay, But I
- 13:21Speaker 2: don't know that I'm made for it, So I don't.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Know that I love working there and that that was
- 13:25Speaker 3: the longest I was there doing Touch Sneque. But I've
- 13:27Speaker 3: done my show's there. I'm trying to get I love
- 13:31Speaker 3: I mean, you know, having a job there is so fun. Oh,
- 13:33Speaker 3: doing a play there, a purpose, Being on a TV
- 13:35Speaker 3: show there is like you know, or I love to
- 13:38Speaker 3: spend like two weeks max going and seeing things and
- 13:41Speaker 3: seeing friends and hanging out and spending way too much
- 13:43Speaker 3: money and just being an idiot.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Right, Dasha, blast right.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I've never lived there where I'm just pounding the pavement
- 13:49Speaker 3: trying to have a life there without like some sort
- 13:51Speaker 3: of employment for too long, right, I think that would
- 13:54Speaker 3: be really tough. And I'm used to this. I'm used
- 13:56Speaker 3: to space and ease and ease, you know, I used
- 14:01Speaker 3: to ease.
- 14:02Speaker 2: The other thing I was going to ask you about
- 14:04Speaker 2: related to Titanic if we can move on beyond this,
- 14:06Speaker 2: but have you seen this Selene Dion documentary?
- 14:08Speaker 3: Yes? I have.
- 14:09Speaker 2: How did you feel about that?
- 14:10Speaker 3: It's it's wonderful. You know, I had no I had
- 14:14Speaker 3: no real connection with Selene Dion. If anything, I kind
- 14:17Speaker 3: of laughed at her and thought she was kind of
- 14:18Speaker 3: an you know, and then even the in the beginning
- 14:22Speaker 3: of Titanique, you know, Marlen Mendel's hilarious impression of Celene
- 14:25Speaker 3: Dion and then you know, getting to like see Nicole Parker,
- 14:28Speaker 3: Jackie Burns do it, and all these people like it's
- 14:30Speaker 3: this but Ty Blue, who directed our show, was so
- 14:34Speaker 3: smart in making us love her. We was like, you
- 14:37Speaker 3: have to love Selene. It's like the entire thing is
- 14:41Speaker 3: what would Selene do? And Selene leads with kindness and
- 14:44Speaker 3: so she's goofy and ridiculous, but you have to love her.
- 14:48Speaker 3: And so I realized through that show. I was like,
- 14:52Speaker 3: I know all of these songs. I would not own
- 14:56Speaker 3: these songs is my kind of music. Yet you kind
- 14:59Speaker 3: of learned to love. So I became a fan of
- 15:02Speaker 3: her because of doing the show. It was one of
- 15:04Speaker 3: those things of like, I did a Karen Carpenter's parody show,
- 15:07Speaker 3: and I love Karen Carpenter. I was like, Karen Carpenter,
- 15:10Speaker 3: get out of here, grow up. But but now you're like, oh,
- 15:14Speaker 3: I love you know, I'm not afraid to admit I
- 15:17Speaker 3: can like, you know, kind of like sentimental grocery store music.
- 15:21Speaker 3: And and her voice is on Seline's voice is unbelievable,
- 15:24Speaker 3: and so it's Karen Carpenter's obviously, so yeah so and
- 15:28Speaker 3: then on top of it, with the all of her
- 15:31Speaker 3: health issues that she's had, it just makes you like
- 15:34Speaker 3: really see the human being that she is and you
- 15:37Speaker 3: love her, and you're like, thank god, I love my
- 15:39Speaker 3: starts to be weird.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Oh of course weird in a good way.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Absolutely, Barbara streisand is not weird enough.
- 15:46Speaker 2: She could breathe it all.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I'll say it. I want I want a weirdo.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Let's find out something. You have all of the resources
- 15:53Speaker 2: to be as strange as you possibly want.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Go for it, Go for it.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Be a freak.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Do it.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Please have something to hie.
- 16:00Speaker 3: The rest of us, go, oh my god, did you
- 16:02Speaker 3: see yes, of course, keep I'm guessing.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't. I mean I again, I think I
- 16:08Speaker 2: do have memory issues because from the documentary, I remember
- 16:11Speaker 2: health issues. I remember her son's being strange in a
- 16:15Speaker 2: way where they were like drinking milkshakes all the time,
- 16:18Speaker 2: oh right, and being gamers, and then she's just kind
- 16:23Speaker 2: of trapped at least in the documentary in Las Vegas, right, which.
- 16:27Speaker 3: That would be my deal. That's my least favorite place
- 16:29Speaker 3: on earth.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I'd love to hear it.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I hate Las Vegas. Do you like Las Vegas?
- 16:33Speaker 2: I do not, and it's awful. I have to say,
- 16:35Speaker 2: you know, there are a lot I'm sure there are
- 16:36Speaker 2: a lot of wonderful people who love it and live there.
- 16:39Speaker 2: For me, I now cannot go back.
- 16:42Speaker 3: I have been to Old Vegas and I liked that.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Like the Old Vegas part is very cool and like
- 16:46Speaker 3: I can imagine that. But the New Vegas, the Strip,
- 16:50Speaker 3: it's literally everything terrible about America forced into this horrible,
- 16:56Speaker 3: just vein of filth, and it's and it's all always
- 17:00Speaker 3: so hot outside and so cold inside. It's loud, they
- 17:05Speaker 3: are people everywhere. It's decad it it's barbecue, pork chop,
- 17:10Speaker 3: margarita it's awful.
- 17:13Speaker 2: When was the last time you were there?
- 17:14Speaker 3: Yesterday? No? No, you know I have not been there
- 17:18Speaker 3: in years. I only go there when I have to.
- 17:21Speaker 3: My family used to take family trips there, and they
- 17:25Speaker 3: used to think it was so fun. We're gonna We're
- 17:26Speaker 3: gonna meet in Vegas, and they would fly all the
- 17:28Speaker 3: way from the Carolinas and then I would meet them
- 17:30Speaker 3: in Vegas and I was like, please, can I go
- 17:32Speaker 3: home to North Carolina. I'd actually rather, I mean, I
- 17:35Speaker 3: must rather be in North Carolina than than Las Vegas.
- 17:40Speaker 3: But I guess I had. I had a job there,
- 17:44Speaker 3: maybe ten or more years ago, and I remember getting
- 17:47Speaker 3: like a six am flight out of there, just gland
- 17:50Speaker 3: at six forty five am in LA I mean, like
- 17:52Speaker 3: I would take the earliest flight to get out of there.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I was like, nope, no more of this.
- 17:57Speaker 2: No, it is torture for me to be there. There's nothing,
- 17:59Speaker 2: There's zero appeal. You are seeing the absolute base of
- 18:03Speaker 2: human behavior, seeing people at their lowest.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Yes, and just the sadness of people like with the
- 18:09Speaker 3: sweaty cocktail and putting another quarter in the slot machine,
- 18:11Speaker 3: just being like my mortgage and you're just like this
- 18:14Speaker 3: is so dark and awful, and I just I when
- 18:18Speaker 3: I win mon I don't like gambling, I go okay,
- 18:23Speaker 3: like it doesn't do anything for me to win. I'm
- 18:27Speaker 3: that way with games too. I don't need to win games.
- 18:30Speaker 3: I'm going to in any setting. I'm going to a
- 18:34Speaker 3: game night tonight, and I pissed people off because I
- 18:36Speaker 3: don't care. Where's your competitive spirit. I'm like, I had
- 18:42Speaker 3: to let that die to do what I do for
- 18:44Speaker 3: a living, I had to not be competitive. So I
- 18:48Speaker 3: just don't enjoy. So that part of that I don't like.
- 18:50Speaker 3: The entertainment is, yeah, it's cats on ice, you know,
- 18:55Speaker 3: it's never anything like, I don't know, challenging.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Right, I mean, of course, now the thing is people
- 19:03Speaker 2: want to see the sphere.
- 19:05Speaker 3: That I would like to see that.
- 19:07Speaker 2: It's like, is it worth going there?
- 19:10Speaker 3: I'll I'll see it on the helicopter passed or exactly.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I guess I could make a road trip that simply
- 19:18Speaker 2: doesn't stop in Las Vegas. You just drive through, you
- 19:21Speaker 2: take a peek, you do that.
- 19:22Speaker 3: It's like Big Ben Parliament. And just.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Because none of the bands that they are scheduling there
- 19:28Speaker 2: haven't hold any interest for me. I don't need to
- 19:31Speaker 2: see you two and write three D or whatever we're
- 19:35Speaker 2: talking about.
- 19:35Speaker 3: No, I mean the bands have to be those kind
- 19:37Speaker 3: of bands, right.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah, they have to be the biggest band. They have
- 19:39Speaker 2: to be like a an NFL halftime band, right, which
- 19:42Speaker 2: doesn't hold a lot of my attention, unfortunately. What sort
- 19:46Speaker 2: of games are you playing at game night?
- 19:48Speaker 3: I don't know, but these are intelligent, like like very
- 19:52Speaker 3: I mean, these are one of the people there is
- 19:55Speaker 3: like a producer and big brother oh the game creating
- 19:58Speaker 3: the games, and they really like have a sort of
- 20:00Speaker 3: you know, and you kind of get there, like I
- 20:01Speaker 3: don't know what world I'm walking into.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Tonight, cheese.
- 20:06Speaker 3: But there are games like celebrity that I'm usually very
- 20:08Speaker 3: good at, right, but I don't care, Like when I'm
- 20:11Speaker 3: like I don't.
- 20:11Speaker 2: That's kind of even worse when someone's good and they
- 20:14Speaker 2: don't care, I.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Know, they hate you. You're like and they're like, come on,
- 20:18Speaker 3: you don't even have to put it whatever. But I'm
- 20:20Speaker 3: terrible at most games, and I'm terrible at poker. So
- 20:23Speaker 3: when I randomly went a hand, like a clock's always
- 20:25Speaker 3: you know, right, a broken clock?
- 20:27Speaker 2: Is it always rites twice a day? That right?
- 20:30Speaker 3: Yes? Yes, which you know.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's sort of gambling in general exact
- 20:34Speaker 2: because anyone can I know there's like.
- 20:36Speaker 3: A strategy to all of it, and I just don't care.
- 20:38Speaker 3: My brain doesn't cannot care enough.
- 20:42Speaker 2: The only one that I can like tolerate as far
- 20:44Speaker 2: as card games is black check because it's simple, it's
- 20:47Speaker 2: over pretty.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Quickly, right, and I've got to get to twenty one. Yes,
- 20:51Speaker 3: it's when you get sixteen and you're like, I don't
- 20:53Speaker 3: really know what should I do?
- 20:55Speaker 2: And ultimately who cares?
- 20:56Speaker 3: Who cares?
- 20:57Speaker 2: So we can just get through this? Yeah, but yeah,
- 20:59Speaker 2: I'm not a I mean, there's just Las Vegas. They're
- 21:02Speaker 2: gonna have to think of something new if they're going
- 21:04Speaker 2: to draw me in.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Thank you. I go there for a paycheck or maybe
- 21:08Speaker 3: a hug from mom.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Well, I think there's something else I hate that I'd
- 21:16Speaker 2: like to talk to you.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Let's get into it.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I was looking forward to having you here today, absolutely
- 21:22Speaker 2: thrilled to have Drew here. I thought we'll have a
- 21:25Speaker 2: wonderful conversation. Drew will go home ha. So you know
- 21:30Speaker 2: the podcast is called I said no gifts and so,
- 21:33Speaker 2: and I know there have been emails and I'm sure
- 21:36Speaker 2: hundreds of phone calls, and the title has been repeated
- 21:39Speaker 2: over and over too. Yeah, so it was a little
- 21:43Speaker 2: I'm just going to say disappointed today.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you showed up holding what could not more clearly
- 21:51Speaker 2: be a gift for me.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I really wanted to give it to you. I am sorry.
- 21:57Speaker 3: I know, I just but you know what that thing
- 21:58Speaker 3: where people say no gifts they really want, that's what
- 22:01Speaker 3: they really mean.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I really want them, right, I mean because I don't
- 22:04Speaker 2: say for me, but people.
- 22:06Speaker 3: When I have parties, I don't say no gifts. And
- 22:10Speaker 3: then when I don't get a mic, what the fuck
- 22:12Speaker 3: I didn't give me a gift?
- 22:13Speaker 2: Do I have any real friends?
- 22:14Speaker 3: I'm like, no gifts please. That's like someone saying bring
- 22:16Speaker 3: bring me right. Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know that I would ever have an
- 22:19Speaker 2: invitation that said no gifts. What place in my life
- 22:21Speaker 2: do I have to get to where I'm no begging
- 22:24Speaker 2: people not to please don't.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Bring me anything. I need nothing, I need everything.
- 22:27Speaker 2: I'll take whatever you can get all of it.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Please. My place is just full of choch keys and
- 22:33Speaker 3: I need them all. But I hope you like this.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Well, yeah I should. I open it here on the
- 22:38Speaker 2: podcast Okay.
- 22:43Speaker 3: I know we should cancel our Amazon Prime subscriptions, but
- 22:46Speaker 3: get this on Amazon.
- 22:47Speaker 2: How do we get out of this Amazon truck we have?
- 22:50Speaker 3: There has to be a new, a new way.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Slightly less worse version of Amazon, right because Amazon kind
- 22:56Speaker 2: of for the longest time, Walmart was the place no
- 22:59Speaker 2: one goes to Walmart, right, and now Walmart almost seems
- 23:02Speaker 2: like a good guy.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Yes, totally.
- 23:04Speaker 2: So somebody that's just ten percent less horrible than Amazon
- 23:09Speaker 2: needs to trot in, I know, and give us an
- 23:12Speaker 2: opportunity to switch service.
- 23:13Speaker 3: So that we can just order things that we can't
- 23:16Speaker 3: because I I hope no one's given you this before,
- 23:19Speaker 3: but I didn't nowhere else to get it. I hope
- 23:21Speaker 3: you don't mind it.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Oh, you know, because I've been given several.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Oh my god, I love it. It's it's an adorable
- 23:28Speaker 3: like little like litterate, like a purloined little gun for
- 23:32Speaker 3: your for a little for a little coin purse. It
- 23:33Speaker 3: shoots one bullet at a time. That's all I need. Yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 3: just a few feet across. It makes a cute little
- 23:40Speaker 3: noise when you shoot it.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Okay, let me open this, Okay, let's see here. Take
- 23:45Speaker 2: two hands.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Okay, Oh, yeah, so it's supposed to also come gift wrapped.
- 23:57Speaker 3: I believe I believe it is, and there's a yeah, sure,
- 24:02Speaker 3: keep your gift a surprise. Let's so what does it
- 24:04Speaker 3: say here?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Let's see, I'm not gonna this seems to be just
- 24:07Speaker 2: the gift for seats or does that have a message
- 24:10Speaker 2: on it? Oh?
- 24:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it tells you what it is. It's a gift
- 24:12Speaker 3: for seat and.
- 24:13Speaker 2: This just says enjoy your gift from Drew DROGI Okay, okay, right,
- 24:17Speaker 2: very person obviously spent hours asked.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Him to say the most personal thing possible.
- 24:25Speaker 2: But okay, okay, now we're look at that beautiful, gorgeous?
- 24:30Speaker 3: How fun is that? See? Now you're happy? Now I'm
- 24:36Speaker 3: finally Now is there a gift? Is there a note
- 24:38Speaker 3: inside that?
- 24:40Speaker 2: Okay, now there's a there's the same message, but now
- 24:43Speaker 2: half printed. It says essentially, joy your gift.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Joy your gift from Drew from so see. Okay, so
- 24:51Speaker 3: I'm so glad that happened. Joy your gift. When I
- 24:54Speaker 3: was okay, so I spent before I moved to l A,
- 24:56Speaker 3: I spent a summer in Kentucky outdoor summer stock Wow,
- 25:00Speaker 3: and I need to get my entire theater resume I need. Yeah,
- 25:06Speaker 3: so storied and rich and textured. No, I was doing
- 25:11Speaker 3: and so after the shows we were doing Outroorth Theater.
- 25:13Speaker 3: It was so crazy. We had to stand in the
- 25:15Speaker 3: joyed at mine, go stand at the joy at mine?
- 25:17Speaker 3: What's so that you would stand in line and people
- 25:20Speaker 3: would won't go by and they would go joined it,
- 25:22Speaker 3: joyed it, joined it. And when people would push past you,
- 25:26Speaker 3: they would go, jout.
- 25:27Speaker 2: What does that mean?
- 25:28Speaker 3: Watch out? Watch out? Wow shout. And I'm from North Carolina,
- 25:33Speaker 3: but I did not understand Kentucky. Like that was a
- 25:36Speaker 3: new language for me. That's it was the Blue Ridge Mountains.
- 25:40Speaker 3: It was a very different joyed it, joyed it? What
- 25:43Speaker 3: was it? I'm really glad that joy your gifts.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Really come full circle? Yeah, your theater career.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Oh, it's just inside. It's just it's just a list
- 25:53Speaker 3: of all the shows I've done Arizona. You can order
- 25:57Speaker 3: on Amazon. It's very expensive and it's just a list
- 26:01Speaker 3: of all of all of my credit.
- 26:02Speaker 2: That's your new Amazon storefront. Air dropping them into people's homes. Okay,
- 26:07Speaker 2: let's open these bags that they put them in are
- 26:10Speaker 2: the toughest material on ours. This could be used in
- 26:13Speaker 2: the military. Yeah, okay, no, let's see here. I don't
- 26:19Speaker 2: need your help.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Oh I love it.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I like how strong I sai.
- 26:22Speaker 3: No, yes, not vocally weak at all anymore.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Okay, we're pulling it out here. Okay, it's oh and
- 26:30Speaker 2: then it's almost I don't need your help.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Okay again, I.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Did not expect more.
- 26:37Speaker 3: My god, it's a Russian doll. Keep going, that looks okay.
- 26:43Speaker 3: I wishers video like who wraps that? Like someone in
- 26:46Speaker 3: a factor was like it's slapping band aids on just
- 26:49Speaker 3: like blue tissue paper. It's still happening more.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Band aids than necessary.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it really seems angrily wrapping. I mean it's done
- 26:59Speaker 3: with their day. Francis Random Dorman, Oh my god, we
- 27:03Speaker 3: literally the same thing.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that movie I had a lot of complicated feelings about.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Yeah, same, but I also maybe haven't related to a
- 27:11Speaker 3: lead character as much. At the end, I was like,
- 27:13Speaker 3: oh am, I hurt. I'm fine with that.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Was it an Amazon ad?
- 27:19Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 27:20Speaker 2: It felt not against it enough. Felt it felt like
- 27:26Speaker 2: it took such a neutral look at Amazon.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Really liked it because I think it was I was
- 27:32Speaker 3: like just happy that like somebody who was like a
- 27:35Speaker 3: drifter who was like, I'm a I'm a traveler all that,
- 27:40Speaker 3: and it gave a lot of love to that. I
- 27:41Speaker 3: didn't feel sorry for her in any way. Yes, which
- 27:43Speaker 3: I thought was really great, and I thought she was
- 27:45Speaker 3: fantastic in it, and and I really liked the like
- 27:48Speaker 3: kind of the documentary feel of it.
- 27:51Speaker 2: All these are all ems wanted to see one person
- 27:54Speaker 2: have to, you know, pee in a bottle or something,
- 27:56Speaker 2: just the truth.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Oh, but you so like the shitting in the bucket
- 27:59Speaker 3: didn't count. She shits in a buck yes, I can't
- 28:02Speaker 3: memory specifically pee in a bottle, but she does ship
- 28:06Speaker 3: in a bus while at work, No, while in her
- 28:09Speaker 3: while in her in her van van.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Okay, I wanted to see her ship in a bucket
- 28:14Speaker 2: in the Amazon warehouse. Oh, okay, because I'm sure that's
- 28:17Speaker 2: had to happen. Oh, I'm probably the person who wrapped this.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Well keep ground wrapping. You know, I have no you
- 28:22Speaker 3: have no idea what you're going to get? Okay, I
- 28:26Speaker 3: wish I Okay, Now it's in this box another boxes.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Tell you what it is. It's has tech deaths.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Yes, yes, it's an ass tech death whistle. And have
- 28:41Speaker 3: you ever heard this before. I've only heard this online
- 28:43Speaker 3: and it makes the most incredible noise. It's a very
- 28:46Speaker 3: upsetting noise that it makes, and it's apposed to like
- 28:48Speaker 3: ward off enemies, as texts used it. I should have
- 28:52Speaker 3: actually done research before I came on this, because I
- 28:54Speaker 3: knew what I was giving you, but I dont real
- 28:56Speaker 3: thing about it. I don't even know if this is
- 28:58Speaker 3: going to work at all, but it makes a really
- 29:00Speaker 3: wonderful upsetting noise and it words off evil spirits.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm going to carry this in my bag.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Yes, as you should. It's better than a gun. So
- 29:10Speaker 3: now I think you just blow into the top of it.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, we'll get a little further away for now.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Like here on elys is directing the death with oh
- 29:20Speaker 2: my god. Okay, that's what we played throughout the episode.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, anything, just like you need it, Like I
- 29:34Speaker 3: just feel like, I'm so want to scream right now
- 29:36Speaker 3: in the world. It's I get I give you that.
- 29:39Speaker 3: It's like a it's like a one are those things
- 29:41Speaker 3: you just you.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Like a stress ball, It's like a screaming into a towel.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Scream into a towel. Does screaming for you? You just
- 29:47Speaker 3: have to blow into it and it just it it.
- 29:51Speaker 2: I was recently thinking should I start a TikTok where
- 29:53Speaker 2: every video is just me screaming into a different substance
- 29:56Speaker 2: or towel or whatever. Here's a thousand eat a thousand
- 30:00Speaker 2: count sheets or whatever, because that's the feeling all the time, right,
- 30:05Speaker 2: just scream how it feels to scream into this. Let
- 30:08Speaker 2: me but now we should probably alert the listener every
- 30:15Speaker 2: time I'm about.
- 30:15Speaker 3: Yeah, trigger warning. It's it's really deeply.
- 30:18Speaker 2: You feel like I'm hitting it the note correctly.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Let me see, I will not. Okay, I think that's
- 30:24Speaker 3: all you can do, right.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I just want to make sure I'm getting the perfect
- 30:27Speaker 2: note out of this death whistle because I'm.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Sure saying, see if you can hum into and see
- 30:31Speaker 3: that changes it?
- 30:34Speaker 1: Hmmm?
- 30:35Speaker 3: Are you.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Perfect? See it either does or.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Choices.
- 30:47Speaker 2: That's the tech life whistle. I just want to keep
- 30:50Speaker 2: blowing this, and I know this has got to be
- 30:52Speaker 2: excruciating for a listener.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that. Punish them for making the choice
- 31:00Speaker 3: to listen to this, Like, oh my god, what am I.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Doing with my life? Yeah, I've got to get it together.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Hurt them. Wow, So no one's giving you this before.
- 31:09Speaker 2: This has never been on the pot. Okay, good, okay good,
- 31:11Speaker 2: But probably every gift from now on will be a death.
- 31:13Speaker 3: So I hope this just sets off a whole like
- 31:16Speaker 3: death whistle chain, because I know you've done this show
- 31:18Speaker 3: for a while and I was like, I didn't you know.
- 31:20Speaker 3: I wanted to make sure this is unbelievable. I'm so happy.
- 31:24Speaker 2: It really is a stress reliever. Yeah, I'm like, I've
- 31:27Speaker 2: released so much already. How did you learn about this?
- 31:31Speaker 3: I saw it online. I saw something and the noise
- 31:33Speaker 3: made me laugh because it was just like this thing
- 31:35Speaker 3: and people would just say it was like this, really,
- 31:38Speaker 3: it's this primal, upsetting noise that you would hear it,
- 31:42Speaker 3: and yes, exactly, dear right, just like bread just sort
- 31:47Speaker 3: of it words off evil spirits and do you.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Have one of your own?
- 31:50Speaker 3: No, But now I need to you're so jealous. I know,
- 31:53Speaker 3: I know I'm going to find a way to steal that.
- 31:59Speaker 2: The only thing that's missing as my death was, and they.
- 32:02Speaker 3: We're gonna see it. I'm gonna be doing a recording
- 32:03Speaker 3: of something else you're gonna see at the background like
- 32:06Speaker 3: that mother fuck.
- 32:08Speaker 2: That's like a nine part docu series.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Yes, exactly. I mean I think it's a good I
- 32:13Speaker 3: think it's a good thing to have.
- 32:14Speaker 2: I hope it's a good I think this is a
- 32:15Speaker 2: good thing to have.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I not like a like the have you seen Trilogy
- 32:19Speaker 3: of Terror? Have you seen that movie?
- 32:20Speaker 1: No?
- 32:20Speaker 2: What's this?
- 32:22Speaker 3: Oh my god? Okay, so it was. It was a
- 32:24Speaker 3: TV movie that came out in the seventies with Karen Black,
- 32:28Speaker 3: who was like huge star years ago. She's Oscar. I mean,
- 32:32Speaker 3: she was amazing at her She did a TV movie.
- 32:34Speaker 3: It was. It was three short films. She plays four
- 32:37Speaker 3: characters in the movie because there's one for she plays twins. Okay,
- 32:40Speaker 3: no one remembers the first two movies, the first two shorts.
- 32:42Speaker 3: The third short is a legendary and truly terrifying piece
- 32:48Speaker 3: about a woman who gets a zooni fetish doll, that's
- 32:50Speaker 3: what they call it. I'm sure very problematic, this white
- 32:54Speaker 3: woman getting this African doll that has that's literally a
- 32:57Speaker 3: problem that she pulls it out of her I think
- 33:01Speaker 3: she could to get it from her mother. She's on
- 33:03Speaker 3: a phone call, she's in the bathtub, and they're like,
- 33:05Speaker 3: whatever you do, don't let the doll's belt fall off.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Because then all hell breaks.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Loose its successories exactly.
- 33:13Speaker 3: Don't make it nude. And so she's in the bathtub.
- 33:18Speaker 3: All of a sudden, doll just standing there and the
- 33:20Speaker 3: belt just falls off. Next thing you know, that doll
- 33:23Speaker 3: is chasing her around her apartment. She's throwing it in
- 33:26Speaker 3: the oven. She is screaming. It's from the doll's point
- 33:29Speaker 3: of view. It's growling, it's stabbing at her. It's absolutely
- 33:33Speaker 3: it's so it's like a thirty minute long Don't watch
- 33:36Speaker 3: the first two films, watch the third and trilogy of Terror. Everyone,
- 33:40Speaker 3: I'm telling you, I highly recommend it is.
- 33:42Speaker 2: The doll done through stop motion, Yes, okay.
- 33:46Speaker 3: A lot of it is from the point of view
- 33:47Speaker 3: of the doll, so you're just seeing like you're just
- 33:50Speaker 3: seeing this, like these arms and stabbing at her and
- 33:53Speaker 3: she's on the ground screaming. But it's really upsetting.
- 33:56Speaker 2: This feels so up your house.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Oh I love it, but I love Child's Play all
- 34:00Speaker 3: so like the original Child's Play, it is genuinely scary.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I've never seen.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Oh it's great, it's great. You don't think that, like,
- 34:06Speaker 3: oh little dolls. Can I be scary? Nothing wrong?
- 34:09Speaker 2: Can we get a visual on Trilogy of Terror, on
- 34:13Speaker 2: this doll in particular, I really just want to visualize
- 34:15Speaker 2: what's happening. I do feel like seventies and maybe early
- 34:20Speaker 2: eighties is shocked already.
- 34:23Speaker 3: It's shocking. This is probably shocking.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, oh, I feel like seventies and oh let's
- 34:32Speaker 2: see here.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Oh oh yeah it is, yes, exactly.
- 34:37Speaker 2: It's got a massive head.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Oh and just teeth and just and lips like full lipsticks.
- 34:41Speaker 2: This is not I mean, this is a problematic creature.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Full Kelly and Conway.
- 34:47Speaker 2: You know, just where's Kelly.
- 34:50Speaker 3: She's a she's a warrior dog. She's a fun little doll.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Just don't take her belt off. She'll come for you.
- 35:00Speaker 2: To be stocks around your house by Kelleyhan conflict Hell true,
- 35:04Speaker 2: hell true, Hell No. What I was going to say
- 35:07Speaker 2: is like, I feel like seventies and eighties TV horror
- 35:10Speaker 2: is almost scarier than horror in the movies from those decades.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, because it's like you listened to Sam Pancakes podcast. Yes,
- 35:18Speaker 3: he's a great podcast called Sam Pancake Presents the Monday
- 35:22Speaker 3: Afternoon Movie. I'm the horrible, like dear friend of it.
- 35:25Speaker 3: It's about he does the TV movies from the seventies
- 35:27Speaker 3: and eighties. Okay, oh fantastic, and I've done it a
- 35:30Speaker 3: few times. It's so much fun you watch a really
- 35:32Speaker 3: obscure movie. But there were so many TV and it's
- 35:35Speaker 3: specifically TV movies right from that decade what is it movie?
- 35:40Speaker 3: And they're usually horror, and they're and they're horrible like
- 35:43Speaker 3: and they tie things up in the whatever amount of
- 35:45Speaker 3: time they have, right, And I know, but it was
- 35:48Speaker 3: But also that's a thing too, I think for because
- 35:51Speaker 3: even as like a kid, I mean I grew up
- 35:53Speaker 3: in the eighties and I would watch those things and
- 35:55Speaker 3: they were on TV in the you know, in the
- 35:57Speaker 3: middle of the day, were terrifying. I think about like
- 36:00Speaker 3: I would come home from school and on HBO in
- 36:02Speaker 3: the middle of the day would be Kujo and Mommy Darrist,
- 36:08Speaker 3: which I still call a horror movie because I was
- 36:10Speaker 3: a child and that movie's on TV every day, and
- 36:12Speaker 3: it was terrified.
- 36:13Speaker 2: That would scare the light.
- 36:15Speaker 3: It was so scary. And I loved horror. I love thriller,
- 36:17Speaker 3: I love Nightmare and elm Street, I love all of
- 36:19Speaker 3: that stuff. But there were some of those that when
- 36:22Speaker 3: they would feel like they were real, right, there was
- 36:25Speaker 3: like there was a document and sometimes when that when
- 36:28Speaker 3: they weren't scored properly, they were more up, they were
- 36:32Speaker 3: more upsetting. You were just like, why this is happening
- 36:36Speaker 3: where it's like a movie. It's like, oh, this is
- 36:37Speaker 3: a movie and it's bump up on and you know
- 36:39Speaker 3: the bad guy's coming. But some of those, like really
- 36:41Speaker 3: cheap ones were just sort of like.
- 36:44Speaker 2: They don't have the budgets to tell you when it's
- 36:46Speaker 2: coming now, so you're it was just sort of like,
- 36:49Speaker 2: oh my god, and mommy dear, is just the idea
- 36:51Speaker 2: of having a scary mother figure screaming and having.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Cutting the hair scene. I know where I talking about
- 36:56Speaker 3: the wire hangers and all this stuff like that, but
- 36:59Speaker 3: when she chops off Christina's hair, Oh, it's really upsetting.
- 37:03Speaker 3: It's very upsetting.
- 37:04Speaker 2: I mean, to have that happen to you, to have
- 37:07Speaker 2: your my mom even tried to get into the hair character.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Now, I know, thank you, she's not cut out, not literally.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Literally thank you. Yeah. I feel like I just recently
- 37:22Speaker 2: watched one of these movies. I love a haunted house movie,
- 37:24Speaker 2: and there's a few of them, but I found a
- 37:27Speaker 2: I wish I could remember. It was a seventies TV
- 37:29Speaker 2: movie where these people moved into what was I think
- 37:31Speaker 2: even they acknowledged was a cursed home and then just
- 37:34Speaker 2: tried to make a go of it.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Oh, I think I know what you're talking about. And
- 37:39Speaker 3: a famous for this in the seventies woman was the
- 37:43Speaker 3: mother in it. Believe in it, But I don't remember.
- 37:45Speaker 3: But There's in a Basement?
- 37:46Speaker 2: Yeah, smiliar. Yeah, yeah, I mean, this is a good
- 37:50Speaker 2: thing to bring up on a podcast.
- 37:52Speaker 3: I don't know, And I think it's is it that
- 37:54Speaker 3: one where oh her? And then oh god?
- 37:59Speaker 2: Right?
- 37:59Speaker 3: And should we spoiled it?
- 38:03Speaker 2: What's the scariest movie you've ever seen?
- 38:07Speaker 3: I okay, so immediately I think about my mom and
- 38:10Speaker 3: I love scary movies, and we would go to the
- 38:12Speaker 3: movies a lot growing up, and I remember going just
- 38:17Speaker 3: being like, let's go. It was like a nine to
- 38:18Speaker 3: thirty on a week night. Right when it had opened,
- 38:21Speaker 3: we saw Silence of the Lambs.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 38:23Speaker 3: That was because we were just preparing for like this
- 38:26Speaker 3: kind of a spooky and having no idea how genuinely terrifying.
- 38:30Speaker 3: That's the scariest I've ever been in a theater watching
- 38:33Speaker 3: that movie. And that movie still is very effective and
- 38:35Speaker 3: very disturbing to me. I'm I think Rednecks in the
- 38:39Speaker 3: Woods are really scary, like Texas chains Lamask a Wrong Turn,
- 38:44Speaker 3: All Wrong Turns Eliza Dushkoup And it's actually a really
- 38:47Speaker 3: great nineties early two thousands, Like Red Next it's actually
- 38:51Speaker 3: really really scary and great. I love it. But it's
- 38:54Speaker 3: those movies are scarier to me than like zombies or
- 38:59Speaker 3: alien or things like that. Right when it's like, oh,
- 39:02Speaker 3: that could really happen.
- 39:03Speaker 2: That's exactly I feel.
- 39:05Speaker 3: That's really really scary to me. And I also just
- 39:07Speaker 3: growing up in the South, I think you just.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Kind of are scared of, like, oh, yeah, that's they
- 39:11Speaker 2: could be.
- 39:11Speaker 3: Oh at any moment, Like cities don't scare me, like
- 39:13Speaker 3: country scares me.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. And the wrong
- 39:17Speaker 2: turn they're just trying to go on a nice vacation.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Yeah, and they take the wrong turn. Little do you
- 39:22Speaker 3: know they're hunted by these Yeah, for a purpose. Sure,
- 39:28Speaker 3: lunch Hills have Eyes as another good one. And yeah,
- 39:33Speaker 3: there's always a lot of those that are.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Just sort of like you know, I just watch the
- 39:38Speaker 2: Zodiac documentary. Have you seen this?
- 39:42Speaker 3: Oh? Yeah, I have not seen it.
- 39:43Speaker 2: No, It was scary initially, and then I started to
- 39:45Speaker 2: feel like these people are telling their story that they
- 39:48Speaker 2: think that they basically lived with the zodiac. Oh okay,
- 39:52Speaker 2: started to feel a little. I became skeptical.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Uh huh, I understand. I love that movie. That's the
- 39:58Speaker 3: movies believe, but that's really about the world around it
- 40:03Speaker 3: because no one ever really knew who he was. I
- 40:05Speaker 3: kne who the actual killer was, and so that made
- 40:08Speaker 3: it even more disturbing when you go into it knowing
- 40:11Speaker 3: like they're not going to find.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Him because he's still out there.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yes, wasn't there that people thinking that Ted Cruz was
- 40:17Speaker 3: the Zodio, which literally makes no sense because Ted Cruise
- 40:21Speaker 3: is younger than me or my age. It's a crazy disturbing.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Number with Ted Cruise is he's probably twenty eight.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Age, he's my age, and no, but I you know,
- 40:32Speaker 3: you're the numbers, and it's sort of like, oh, well
- 40:34Speaker 3: then no, it's obviously not.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean even that, I just don't like him
- 40:38Speaker 2: getting any attention on my agree negative or positive. I
- 40:41Speaker 2: just want him to fall into a swamp and no
- 40:44Speaker 2: one ever knows. He's just vanishes from society and we can't.
- 40:48Speaker 3: Wait for that to happen to a lot of people.
- 40:50Speaker 3: I mean, that's what's going to have to happen.
- 40:52Speaker 2: True.
- 40:53Speaker 3: At this point, we scream into our death mask and
- 40:56Speaker 3: just hope for swamps, you know, Hope for Swamps, my
- 41:03Speaker 3: favorite Oprah book Club book, Hope for Swamps.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Do we know exactly what this is supposed to do?
- 41:11Speaker 2: Is it supposed to ward off?
- 41:12Speaker 3: Is it's supposed to ward off? I hope it's not
- 41:14Speaker 3: to like invite, invite.
- 41:17Speaker 2: My life just craters after this, Like sure, let's go,
- 41:23Speaker 2: Like well, I'm just great, just drive off. Listening to
- 41:28Speaker 2: Karen Carpon, I.
- 41:31Speaker 3: I know exactly rainy days and mondays. No, I I
- 41:37Speaker 3: think it's to ward off evil spirits. I don't say
- 41:39Speaker 3: that on at.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Least you have any idea.
- 41:42Speaker 3: There are a few things. One of the main things
- 41:45Speaker 3: is to.
- 41:47Speaker 4: It was used as an intimidation tactic in war, completely
- 41:52Speaker 4: can be used in ceremonies and human sacrifice rituals.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Perfect to get into it.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Sweet may have.
- 41:58Speaker 4: Been used to honor the wind god and to call
- 42:00Speaker 4: for favorable weather conditions. Weather today, Yeah Yeah announced the
- 42:05Speaker 4: death of a tribal member, and the whistle was used
- 42:08Speaker 4: on the day of the dad along with other instruments.
- 42:10Speaker 4: So there, Yeah, the multipurpose whistle.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it truly is. It's a Swiss army knife and
- 42:14Speaker 2: there you go. I mean, I don't even know if
- 42:16Speaker 2: I describe this to the listener, but it's a little
- 42:17Speaker 2: black skull and it's so tasteful. Little skull, yeah, half skull. Yeah,
- 42:23Speaker 2: the jaw is gone, some enormous teeth up front. Ye,
- 42:27Speaker 2: and it's really stunning. I think it's made out of
- 42:30Speaker 2: clay or something. Let's just do another, just, you know,
- 42:32Speaker 2: because we should do this periodically.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Hm. I also love that it like it's like a kettle.
- 42:39Speaker 3: It gets stronger, it builds, you know.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Yeah, there's no tea at the end. It's just.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Kind of that annoying tea at the end, just the
- 42:55Speaker 3: rage sounds of air escaping.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Do you play any instruments?
- 42:59Speaker 3: I don't.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Did you ever take I never did.
- 43:02Speaker 3: I have very long piano fingers that people always said
- 43:05Speaker 3: you your hands to play piano, and I was always told, like,
- 43:09Speaker 3: you'll regret it, you never play piano. I don't regret it.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I've never been interested in and I mean I love
- 43:15Speaker 3: when people play it. Well. I wish I could sing
- 43:17Speaker 3: that's the thing. I'm going to bring that back too.
- 43:18Speaker 3: That's the thing that I wish I could do is
- 43:20Speaker 3: like sing and dance and then I would, you know,
- 43:23Speaker 3: just do plays all the time.
- 43:24Speaker 2: But piano, no, how well can you sing? Can you
- 43:28Speaker 2: like in the car? You're like, I can.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Carry So Titanic gave me a lot more confidence. And
- 43:33Speaker 3: I can talk sing, you know, I can do talkie
- 43:35Speaker 3: sing things. It's just not a pretty sound when I sing,
- 43:39Speaker 3: and but I have found ways of doing it, and
- 43:42Speaker 3: a lot of it is just is confidence. Sure. I'm
- 43:46Speaker 3: just where I'm way more confident saying lines. When I
- 43:50Speaker 3: have a song and I'm like, oh God, if I
- 43:51Speaker 3: mess up a word, I'm going to throw the whole
- 43:53Speaker 3: song away. I'm not really gonna know. I had to
- 43:55Speaker 3: do a show where I had to another theater story.
- 43:59Speaker 3: I had to do Vogue. I just sing Madonnald's Woe,
- 44:02Speaker 3: which I've sung for thirty years. I had to have
- 44:07Speaker 3: it written down. I had to make excuse that it
- 44:09Speaker 3: was written for me because I was like Greta Garbo
- 44:11Speaker 3: and Monroe Dietrich into Mondial, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Harlow, Jimmy Carter,
- 44:16Speaker 3: Carter Black. I was like, literally going, I don't know
- 44:20Speaker 3: what I'm saying, and I was yeah. So I was like,
- 44:23Speaker 3: if I get this wrong at the beginning of the show,
- 44:27Speaker 3: then the whole show is to have it written down.
- 44:31Speaker 3: I was so in my head about it.
- 44:33Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised if Madonna has to have it
- 44:35Speaker 2: written down.
- 44:35Speaker 3: She has everything written down on her hand.
- 44:38Speaker 2: I'm just messy.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Carlow Gene picture of a what.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Just covered in bit? Uh? Did you ever? Did you
- 44:50Speaker 2: perform in middle and high school? Was that a thing?
- 44:52Speaker 3: High school? Tenth grade? I started doing theater in high school. Yeah?
- 44:56Speaker 2: Did you do high school musicals?
- 44:58Speaker 3: I did not. I think I directed musicals in my
- 45:01Speaker 3: community theater when I was in high school. Wow. Yes,
- 45:05Speaker 3: oh oh. Let me tell you. I've got the Lincoln
- 45:08Speaker 3: Times News in Lincoln, North Carolina when I was eighteen.
- 45:12Speaker 3: I remember I was directing this the musical called Smoke
- 45:15Speaker 3: on the Mountain, which is a gospel musical comedy in
- 45:19Speaker 3: nineteen ninety five. Yep, And the headline of the paper
- 45:25Speaker 3: just said, Drew Drogi eighteen is Lincolnin's orson Wells. That
- 45:31Speaker 3: was the nicest I've ever gotten. The nicest thing that
- 45:34Speaker 3: anyone's ever said about me. They really had high expense
- 45:38Speaker 3: on Oh oh, it's all over it. I had to
- 45:41Speaker 3: work in your hair. Yeah, you know, it's my head shot.
- 45:46Speaker 3: You don't have quotes on your head shots from your
- 45:50Speaker 3: town newspaper. Come on, gotta get in the business.
- 45:54Speaker 2: That's huge. How did you react to that?
- 45:56Speaker 3: I was it was downhill from there. I was like,
- 45:58Speaker 3: I can't live up to that. So yeah, but I
- 46:01Speaker 3: did a lot with the Community Theater. I was actually
- 46:03Speaker 3: a wonderful it. I did save my life because I
- 46:06Speaker 3: was kicked out of every club. We had like a
- 46:08Speaker 3: whole marijuana tobuckle where we were found with marijuana and
- 46:12Speaker 3: all my awards were stripped away from me and like everything.
- 46:15Speaker 3: So the only thing I had by the end was
- 46:17Speaker 3: the Community Theater. They took very romantic. They took our
- 46:20Speaker 3: scholarships away, they took our We were kicked out of
- 46:24Speaker 3: the Honor Society, out of the like all the clubs.
- 46:27Speaker 3: We were like, it was literally our senior year was
- 46:29Speaker 3: just we're stripping this from you and taking this from you.
- 46:31Speaker 3: And there's thousands of dollars in scholarship money we're taking
- 46:34Speaker 3: from Wow, what a ship yeah, because we confess to
- 46:37Speaker 3: having a joint. We weren't even cod was on a
- 46:40Speaker 3: school trip.
- 46:40Speaker 2: What a way to make sure the person continues to
- 46:43Speaker 2: do drink?
- 46:44Speaker 3: And when I continue to do drug, of course I
- 46:47Speaker 3: usually eat it, but I do I do pot every day.
- 46:51Speaker 3: I would say that, And I learned to lie. I
- 46:52Speaker 3: learned how to lie be like, no, I didn't have
- 46:54Speaker 3: I don't have a joint on me. I. But because
- 46:57Speaker 3: I was like, oh, I'm going to tell the truth,
- 47:00Speaker 3: we were.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Yeah, why did you decide to tell the truth?
- 47:02Speaker 3: We were actually they were really they were really insidious
- 47:05Speaker 3: about it. They they grabbed one person out of the
- 47:07Speaker 3: group and made her fest up. They said, she's already
- 47:11Speaker 3: told us, and so you may as well tell us, right,
- 47:15Speaker 3: And we also were just like, well, we're going to
- 47:17Speaker 3: do the right thing and we're going to say yes,
- 47:18Speaker 3: we did it. And then because of that, then it
- 47:22Speaker 3: was like our lives and we're like, oh, right, next time,
- 47:25Speaker 3: don't don't tell the truth. That's what I learned from
- 47:27Speaker 3: that whole situation was like lie and weeds better than
- 47:31Speaker 3: you know, most of those people that you're you know, you.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Know, yeah, I think just lie until at least until
- 47:37Speaker 2: you have the full picture of what's going to happen exactly.
- 47:40Speaker 3: They never known, and they would have they would have
- 47:42Speaker 3: literally been like you know, he said, versus she said,
- 47:46Speaker 3: but we would have let our friend she.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Could throw her under the bus. Yeah, she made the
- 47:51Speaker 2: decision she did. This is a pro rat podcast.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Absolutely okay. In that case, Well, is.
- 47:58Speaker 2: There anything left to say about the whistle?
- 48:00Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 48:02Speaker 2: I mean, we'll blow it. It'll be blown again frequently.
- 48:05Speaker 3: But I say I highly recommend them. I recommend getting
- 48:10Speaker 3: them in a store. But if you can't find them
- 48:11Speaker 3: in a store, they.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Are on alms online. I wonder you can get these
- 48:14Speaker 2: in a store.
- 48:15Speaker 3: I know, Like, what store? Do you go to?
- 48:17Speaker 2: Target?
- 48:17Speaker 3: I'm sure they or they have Holiday death Wessons, Silver
- 48:24Speaker 3: Bell Death wik Yes, yes, I have Santa's boots. What have.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Well, I think it's time to play a game. All right, great,
- 48:33Speaker 2: I think we'll play this game called Gift a Curse Listener.
- 48:36Speaker 2: We'll play Gift Masters soon. It's under construction again. I'm
- 48:38Speaker 2: so lazy. Oh all right, I need a number between
- 48:41Speaker 2: one and ten from you.
- 48:42Speaker 3: Seven, Okay.
- 48:43Speaker 2: I have to do a little bit of light calculating
- 48:45Speaker 2: to get our game pieces. So you can promote, recommend,
- 48:48Speaker 2: do whatever you want.
- 48:48Speaker 3: I can promote, Oh please, when is this coming out?
- 48:51Speaker 3: Do we know? Well at that point, hopefully it will
- 48:54Speaker 3: still be in theaters. But I'm in a new movie
- 48:56Speaker 3: called Queer that opens on November twenty seventh, but I
- 49:01Speaker 3: don't know what actually when it opens wide, but definitely
- 49:03Speaker 3: go see that. What else I've got nothing else going on? Yeah,
- 49:08Speaker 3: that's about it. I'm looking for work.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's perfect. I mean, it's so exciting the movie.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's really great. It's wonderful. I'm very excited that.
- 49:21Speaker 2: I mean, it seems like it's going to be incredible.
- 49:23Speaker 2: On Daniel Craig, Yes, he's wonderful. It's just the nicest,
- 49:28Speaker 2: normal to earth person. He's such a great I mean,
- 49:31Speaker 2: he's phenomenal in this movie, I'm sure. And Nike anything
- 49:36Speaker 2: he's ever done, and I mean he's always great. But
- 49:39Speaker 2: this is just like WHOA and then Luca Guaddino. So
- 49:43Speaker 2: it was like so it was it was a dream.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Somebody made it because he's made two movies this year.
- 49:48Speaker 3: He did well. Challengers was done, but because of Strike
- 49:51Speaker 3: and the whole thing, and they had a hold back
- 49:54Speaker 3: what weever. But yeah, so he actually showed us Challengers
- 49:56Speaker 3: when we were when we were filming.
- 49:57Speaker 2: There, so I got to get to see that inside school.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and I love Challengers too. It's but it's a
- 50:03Speaker 3: lot of the same team. I mean, justin Kurtziz who
- 50:06Speaker 3: wrote the script for both of Atticus Ross Andresler just
- 50:10Speaker 3: the music for both, and so like Jonathan Anderson designed costumes,
- 50:13Speaker 3: and so it's a lot of the same team that
- 50:16Speaker 3: did Challengers also did Queer and they are wildly different movies. Yeah,
- 50:20Speaker 3: they seem very very gay movies in very different ways.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Ultimately both tennis films.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Yes, of course, there's so much tennis. No I play,
- 50:28Speaker 3: Chris Evert. The fact that you're that that's my reference true,
- 50:32Speaker 3: Not Martina and Averagel, not Venus and Serena, Chris Ager.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Chris Evert, sure, I mean those are you have way
- 50:40Speaker 2: more tennis polls than I could have possibly had.
- 50:42Speaker 3: I don't even know how I know that. Very impressive
- 50:44Speaker 3: she hosted, and now that's how I know.
- 50:46Speaker 2: So there we go, there we go exactly, Okay, do
- 50:48Speaker 2: I have anything to recommend? Oh, I've been rewatching getting on.
- 50:52Speaker 3: Oh, Laurie metcalf.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Oh, just an unbelievable And I've learned recently that people
- 50:57Speaker 2: who I trust in respect haven't even heard of the show.
- 51:00Speaker 3: Oh it needs to come back and people need to
- 51:01Speaker 3: watch again. I need to watch it again because I
- 51:04Speaker 3: didn't watch all of it and loved the ones that
- 51:05Speaker 3: I did see.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Oh so you haven't You haven't seen the final episode. No,
- 51:08Speaker 2: I have not. It's so beautiful. There's a moment that
- 51:11Speaker 2: is one of the most beautiful moments I've seen in television.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Oh it was a very funny show.
- 51:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it was really funny. Yeah, it was also
- 51:18Speaker 3: really great. I saw Yesterday, which is a very different tone,
- 51:20Speaker 3: but speaking of like hospital, way more in the comedy side,
- 51:23Speaker 3: but Saint Denis medical.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, of course, it's so fun and it's got.
- 51:27Speaker 3: It's got. You have a friend of any.
- 51:28Speaker 2: I've had got friends who write on it. Oh, yes, Yaomi, Naomi,
- 51:32Speaker 2: my friend justin Ye.
- 51:34Speaker 3: People, it's I mean, you've got the the national treasure
- 51:38Speaker 3: that is Wendy McLendon Covey and she's so good, and
- 51:40Speaker 3: the legend that is David Alla Greer And like Allison
- 51:43Speaker 3: told me, it's like this great cast. But it's also
- 51:46Speaker 3: really moving and very sweet. I thought it would just
- 51:48Speaker 3: be a fun you know, just a roperstar in a
- 51:51Speaker 3: in a hospital, but instead it's it's really I was like, Wow,
- 51:56Speaker 3: I'm really moved.
- 51:57Speaker 2: And two solid hospital recommendations. People need to be watching
- 52:02Speaker 2: more hospital on t tree.
- 52:03Speaker 3: There's not enough hospital on TV.
- 52:04Speaker 2: That's whatever, says the problem with the industry. Yes, get
- 52:09Speaker 2: some more hospitals and we'll fire. Okay, this is how
- 52:13Speaker 2: we play Gift or a Curse. I'm going to name
- 52:15Speaker 2: three things, and you're going to tell me if there
- 52:17Speaker 2: are a gift or a curse and why, and then
- 52:19Speaker 2: I'll tell you if you're right or wrong. Because there
- 52:22Speaker 2: are correct answers. You can fail this game. Oh I
- 52:24Speaker 2: hope so, and I probably will. You use the death
- 52:27Speaker 2: whistle because why wouldn't.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Why not.
- 52:31Speaker 2: When the death whistle blows, that means you did not
- 52:33Speaker 2: get the point. Okay, when the death whistle blows, it
- 52:37Speaker 2: means you were also correct. I'll just why afterwards. It'll
- 52:40Speaker 2: be blown no matter, okay. Number one this is from
- 52:44Speaker 2: a listener named Steph. Gift or a Curse When somebody
- 52:47Speaker 2: is out on a walk and happens upon a fruit
- 52:50Speaker 2: tree near the sidewalk in a stranger's yard and helps
- 52:53Speaker 2: themselves to some of the fruit.
- 52:57Speaker 3: And it's a gift or a curse. Yes, I see,
- 53:00Speaker 3: I'm going to call that a gift. Why because it's
- 53:05Speaker 3: you never eat all the fruit that it's on your tree,
- 53:08Speaker 3: give it to the neighborhood. It's fruits made to be eaten.
- 53:11Speaker 3: I think it's a I think it's a delicious treat.
- 53:14Speaker 3: And I enjoy all the fairy tales in which people
- 53:16Speaker 3: bite fruit and magic happens to them.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Oh, correct, correct, Yes, I love. I'm always so scared
- 53:29Speaker 2: to do it myself. I'm so tempted. Yes, but I
- 53:31Speaker 2: think if your fruit tree is hanging over the sidewalk,
- 53:35Speaker 2: that's city property. Yes, And why can't I take a
- 53:38Speaker 2: little after my neighbors have.
- 53:40Speaker 3: My neighbors have an orange tree who belonged to gay
- 53:42Speaker 3: rights activists and legend Morris Kite, who did pass away
- 53:44Speaker 3: a few years ago, but he was like the amazing
- 53:47Speaker 3: gay like like hero of That's Hollywood, was in his nineties.
- 53:51Speaker 3: He had this bitter orange tree that's good for marmalade
- 53:54Speaker 3: and cocktails. You don't really want to eat the oranges, right,
- 53:56Speaker 3: It produces so many oranges and they're thrilled, or at
- 53:59Speaker 3: least they tell me they are when we when we
- 54:01Speaker 3: take them off the tree to they're wonderful in a negronie.
- 54:04Speaker 2: Oh that sounds I need to find out where this
- 54:06Speaker 2: is located. Shop. Yeah, yeah, I think it's lovely. Someone's
- 54:11Speaker 2: going to take it, whether it's a wild animal another person,
- 54:15Speaker 2: or it will fall to the ground, yes, and rot
- 54:17Speaker 2: on the ground. Yeah, we should all. I want to
- 54:18Speaker 2: get one.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Anyone who is like, donate the fruit, then dig up
- 54:22Speaker 3: the tree right, throw it away, Throw the tree away,
- 54:25Speaker 3: and you're selfing with it. Die? Thank you?
- 54:30Speaker 2: No you? Okay, you get the point. An absolute gift
- 54:33Speaker 2: okay number two. This is from a listener named Cameron.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Gift or a curse welcome Matt's slash other assorted front
- 54:39Speaker 2: door trinkets or decor in the indoor hallway of an
- 54:42Speaker 2: apartment building.
- 54:44Speaker 3: I'm gonna say, curse.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Why.
- 54:46Speaker 3: I think they're trying too hard. I mean, like, it's
- 54:49Speaker 3: one thing if it's like a nice decorative map, but
- 54:51Speaker 3: if it has a message on it, I'm always like
- 54:54Speaker 3: uh uh oh, Like I'm a little bit like red flag.
- 54:56Speaker 3: It's like you're you're you you are trying. It's like
- 54:59Speaker 3: bumper sticker or anything like. I'm this and it's just
- 55:02Speaker 3: it's a lot at me. I don't need a welcome
- 55:05Speaker 3: or anything wacky or fine. When I'm walking in the door,
- 55:08Speaker 3: a nice, beautiful pattern, a nice color, lovely. I can
- 55:12Speaker 3: dust off my shoes or leave them at the door.
- 55:14Speaker 3: I'm happy to do that. Don't scream words at me
- 55:17Speaker 3: when I'm coming up to your place. Thank you.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Wrong, it's a curse. It's a gift. It's a gift.
- 55:28Speaker 2: I mean, I'm doing a lot here. I'm playing an instrument.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Now the listener has to forgive me. You're wrong, You're
- 55:33Speaker 2: absolutely wrong. I love it. The more clutter we can
- 55:36Speaker 2: get in a hallway, the better, the more opportunities to
- 55:39Speaker 2: trip over trinkets and chowkeys. I think it's absolutely terrific.
- 55:44Speaker 2: And I love a little mattch to wipe my filthy
- 55:47Speaker 2: feet the mud off.
- 55:49Speaker 3: Do you like it to say funny things like lordy, lordy,
- 55:51Speaker 3: Brenda's forty.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Yes, that's all they should say. A special happy birthday
- 55:59Speaker 2: welcome that you own for the rest of life. That
- 56:05Speaker 2: someone's gone. This is you have a second item for
- 56:07Speaker 2: your correct Yeah, I mean you've really proven yourself wrong.
- 56:16Speaker 3: Here, Yeah I really have.
- 56:18Speaker 2: That.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Okay, so one out of two so far and this
- 56:23Speaker 2: is the final one. This is from an unknown listener.
- 56:26Speaker 2: And whenever I see unknown it feels a little creepy.
- 56:28Speaker 2: It's like an unmarked grave. But whatever, gift your a
- 56:31Speaker 2: curse saying the name of the credit card company before
- 56:34Speaker 2: reading out the number. It's a Visa for one four seven.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Oh, that's a curse. You're an idiot, because first of all,
- 56:41Speaker 3: they know by the like a Visa and MasterCard, they
- 56:44Speaker 3: have like certain numbers that immediately make it what it is.
- 56:46Speaker 3: But also like it doesn't the number is not going
- 56:49Speaker 3: to be different per like that's that credit cards number.
- 56:52Speaker 3: It's not like, oh, Visa has that number and MasterCard
- 56:54Speaker 3: house Americans. The number is the number. You don't need
- 56:58Speaker 3: to say that. That's like saying it's a red card. Uh,
- 57:02Speaker 3: you know what I mean, we don't need that.
- 57:05Speaker 2: And now the school it's just.
- 57:09Speaker 3: So many.
- 57:11Speaker 2: I lead a musical life. Wrong, Ah, it's a gift again.
- 57:18Speaker 2: I mean, speaking of Brenda, this feels like real Brenda,
- 57:22Speaker 2: right when somebody it's a master card for one for
- 57:26Speaker 2: something that's a.
- 57:27Speaker 3: Dream Diners club.
- 57:33Speaker 2: It's a Discover three one, threes eight. It's I think
- 57:36Speaker 2: that's perfect behavior I need. I think we should all
- 57:38Speaker 2: be bringing that energy.
- 57:39Speaker 3: Oh, I love it. I love it. I just find
- 57:41Speaker 3: it like.
- 57:43Speaker 2: That's very phone in between your ear and shoulder reading
- 57:47Speaker 2: it out?
- 57:49Speaker 1: You are?
- 57:49Speaker 3: I mean, I love I love anyone who's going to
- 57:52Speaker 3: read their credit card number out loud in public, really loud,
- 57:55Speaker 3: and just announce it. I mean, how fun? What a
- 57:58Speaker 3: wild adventure you're must always be on. Yeah, I think
- 58:03Speaker 3: that's how I got scammed again. It's a Visa five
- 58:08Speaker 3: six one.
- 58:09Speaker 2: How often are you reading out the number? You're calling
- 58:12Speaker 2: the Sears catalog? You're on the phone with pennies. It's
- 58:17Speaker 2: I think it's a gift, at least for our Brenda's Sure,
- 58:21Speaker 2: Well you got one out of three, one out of three.
- 58:23Speaker 3: That's not bad.
- 58:24Speaker 2: It's not a complete fail.
- 58:25Speaker 3: No, And I don't care. I told you I don't
- 58:27Speaker 3: like to win.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Right, you're the person for this, right, and now I'm furious.
- 58:32Speaker 2: I need you to be passionate about this. And now
- 58:35Speaker 2: we need to get into the on aalase gift or
- 58:37Speaker 2: a curse. On liase is a very objective judge and
- 58:40Speaker 2: they're going to give us one and we're both going
- 58:43Speaker 2: to try to get the correct answer on release. What
- 58:45Speaker 2: is your thing today?
- 58:47Speaker 4: Gift a curse? The friendship of Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Interesting. Do you want to go first?
- 58:53Speaker 1: Oh?
- 58:53Speaker 3: Yeah, go first. I think that's a gift. I think
- 58:56Speaker 3: that's a wonderful thing. I think they both are fascinating personalities.
- 59:02Speaker 3: They both bring out a real like mirth in each other.
- 59:05Speaker 3: He absolutely made her like he's has softened her in
- 59:09Speaker 3: a really fun way. I'm a fan. I'm a fan
- 59:13Speaker 3: of that pairing and partnership.
- 59:15Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I'm also going to say gift. I was
- 59:18Speaker 2: on the phone with my mom just last night talking
- 59:21Speaker 2: about the Martha Stewart documentary.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Which I've not seen.
- 59:23Speaker 2: It gets a little dark. She seems like she could
- 59:26Speaker 2: be a very lonely person. But my mom wants them
- 59:31Speaker 2: to get married.
- 59:32Speaker 3: Ah.
- 59:32Speaker 2: She just loves these two together. We all love them together.
- 59:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:36Speaker 2: I mean, I feel like it's a pretty honest thing
- 59:39Speaker 2: that's happening. I hope, I hope that they love each other.
- 59:43Speaker 3: I hope so too. I think it's fantastic, it's organic,
- 59:45Speaker 3: and maybe it's just We're totally just. You know, sometimes
- 59:48Speaker 3: you feel like, oh, you literally put these two wildly
- 59:51Speaker 3: different people together in a world and whatever, but like
- 59:53Speaker 3: in a buddy comedy or something right. But instead I'm like, no,
- 59:56Speaker 3: they genuinely I want to believe they genuinely like each other.
- 59:59Speaker 2: I mean it should be an buddy comedy, would solving
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: a crime?
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: Or she needs to be in the remake of Taxi?
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Absolutely, on Elis, how did we do?
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: You're wrong, it's a curse.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: I see the reason why I'm going to be the
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: bad guy here because I know, deep in your heart Bridger,
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: you want to say it's a curse, because you know
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: that should be.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: You know Martha, you love Martha.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: I mean sure, I know.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: That you really want to have that best friend status
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: with Martha.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: Wow for you to, I mean you you have seen
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: me in a way that no one else possibly could.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Of course, I would love to be on her little
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: she rides like a little four wheel go kart throughout
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: the movie, to be the passenger and that and her
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: just being mean to me, I'm I would love nothing more.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: What a missed opportunity.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: But you know I I love Snoop and I will
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: have to say. Now, I maybe I have told this
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: story before. Back in the day, I was catering at
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: the Playboy Mansion. Okay, it was Jamie Fox's birthday the
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Playboy Mansion. All these people were there and they were
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: very strict about like times like at this time, we
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: have to stop serving this and you can do this.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: And we were all in these like horrible nehrew jackets
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: and running in my horrible job and everyone's like mean
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: and whatever. And this guy grabbed me and he was like,
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: I need a sprite. He just got me. He's like
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: I need and I need to get a sprite. And
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: I was like, I'm sorry, sir, it's cut off whatever.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: And he looks me and he goes, it's for Snoop
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: and I was like absolutely, And I went in, and
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: I mean I dug through, I just unlocked codes. I
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: went through Pep secret doors. What I dove in I
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: was finding us. I was like, I'm getting Snoop a sprite.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: He's got driving off exactly why he needs it and
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: he needs a sprite. And I'm like, I will do
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: that for Snoop Dogg. So You're welcome if you're listening, son,
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: I did that for you.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: How are they cutting off sprite? At any point during
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: it was sprite?
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: He needed a can of sprite. I was like, that's
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: I will fire me Patina catering.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that feels like something that should just be on
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: a table somewhere in the gardeners.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: I was like, that's not even like making you a
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: cocktail or anything involving. It was not chopping we not
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: you know what a moheedo or something you want to
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: sprite that.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: People get thirsty all the time all the time. Wow,
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: good for you for really stepping in there a great person. Wow,
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: So you've been into the Playboy Mansion?
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: What was that? What was it was?
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: I just remember being very dark and not welcoming and
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: it just didn't feel like fun or sexy at all
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: to me. And it was, but it was also like
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: it was working and just sort of like you're sort
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: of ordered around, and it's almost like my memories of
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: like working in places, was like you were basically like,
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: look down, don't take this in. This isn't your life,
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: you know, kind of a thing. I let them call
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: me Andrew when I.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Ca I was like, do you want to call you Andrew? No?
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Is your name? Andrew?
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: My full name is Andrew, but my mom and dad
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: were like called me Drew from day one. They named
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: me Andrew, but I was always to be Drew, and
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: so yeah, they when I was like, yeah, call me
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Andrew here, I'm just I'm a different person here when
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: I'm here. So Andrew did that job.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Always to be Drew is such a beautiful title for something.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Ah my next, so always to be Drew?
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Wow, what is the word I've been? I have been
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: to the Playbood Mansion, but not inside, just the outside,
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: and it was as similar.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: That's more what I remember than the inside. I don't
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: remember how much of that we went in.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: But do you remember the outside being kind of also
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: not taken that well taken care of?
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: No, yeah, it was kind of yeah. I was like, yeah,
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: it was a dingy, Yes.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: It was yeah. They I guess they're really putting something
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: out there to make people think it's nice. But I
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: know there's a mildew.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a girl melting on everything.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: I think, yes, Okay, let's uh. This is the final
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: segment of the podcast. Unfortunately we lost on Elisa's Little Game,
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: which makes me sick.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: But what do you do?
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: This is? I said, no emails people right in too,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: I said, no gifts at gmail dot com begging for answers.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Great you help me answer question? Yes, okay, this says
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: dear Bridger and memorable guest. That's nice, especially considering all
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: of my memory problems. My husband and I are expecting
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: our first child through surrogacy. Our surrogate is an amazing
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: woman who has been through the entire IVF process and
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: most of the pregnancy at this point without a single complaint.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: We have given some gifts at the major milestones, such
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: as baskets of self care products, gift cards, et cetera.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: At the most recent appointment, she gave us a very thoughtful,
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: handmade gift. Oh that's nice. As we prepare for the birth,
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: we are at a loss for what to get the
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: person who gives birth to our son. Any suggestions will
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: be given the consideration they deserve. Well that I don't
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: like to hear that. Oh yeah, sincerely, Lucas and Justin
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: from Atlanta, Georgia. I mean to end, they deserve the
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: consideration they deserve. I mean, I almost just want to
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: shut down the podcast. If you're not just gonna take
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: these with open arms.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: Exactly, we'll consider it. Well, of course she would also
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: like it's one of those things, like, of course she would,
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: but to say that she's a little bit like, Okay,
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: it was.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: A nastiness to it. If you didn't believe we were
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: going to have a good answer for you, maybe just
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: don't write into the podcast exactly find another part.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: Also, do you think this is real anyway? I mean,
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: your baby's real? Okay, great, congratulations another child in the world.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: What do you give the mother for like having the baby?
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Right, especially now that she's given another gift, I don't
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: feel like she should have given a gift.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: She's done enough, she's done enough, she's gone too far,
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: she's absolutely done enough.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: Early red flag. Actually, I would say maybe she's like
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: planning to take the baby. Oh I hope, maybe she's
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: starting to make get.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: It back.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: They she opened at the hospital and the doors.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: What god, I mean, what do you get? What do
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: you give someone that's like done that? Like I feel
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: like anything is never enough. I mean you could buy
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: her a house and still be like, but you gave
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: us a child, you know what I mean? So I
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: would say, you know, I think a really nice dinner car,
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: like a you know, get for a nice.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Nice local rest restaurant or franchise, franchise, national change.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: And you know a year in a wine club. Does
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: she drink now that she's just drink wine.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: Or has she been secretly drinking? There you go, then
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: that's a problem, sure not to her. Not. Now what's
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: done is done, thank you.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I would just say something like that you've already
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: given her, like spa. It sounds like self treatment, stuff
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: like things.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, there's just never there. I mean, I
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: guess you could give her a pet, give her another
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: life large animal.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: But then it's just to take care of that likes
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: just to want that. A large animal like a jaguar.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: A jaguar exotic, something that's borderline illegal. Okay, sure, something
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: that should not be caged.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: But Atlanta's big.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: You know, her house is probably massive.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: I'm sure. Give her a.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: Wild animal, something zoo, I don't know. Get her something
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: that's been preserved in amber yea or in some swamp
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: in the.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Thanks for taking our child and deal with this.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Yeah, moving on, because who knows the child that they've
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: all created together could be a nightmare.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: I hope he is.
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: So you have to give her something that could potentially
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: be a life.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Ruin heer, Absolutely so.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: I think actually the only thing is an exotic animal.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: That bites and get an astac death mask death whistle,
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: and then you know, train it through.
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: That, trained through a death.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: I think that parents would be wonderful. Let's fine, okay,
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: exactly just anybody. We're putting it out there now. Bridge
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: and I are looking to become dads. Make us a kid,
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: and you will get You'll get an exotic animal preserved
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: in amber with an az tech death whistle. Who could ask, hello,
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: all you had to do nine months out of your life?
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Who care?
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: Cook a baby? Thank you?
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Deal with it.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: You'll never hear from us again.
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: We will change our numbers. Oh, we'll never again, full
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: new identities, and you're left with this creature. Well I
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: feel like that. I mean that that requires full consideration. Yes,
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: I mean they're doing it. Let's just assume that Justin
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: and what's his name, Lucas, Lucas, thank you Justin and
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Lucas take it away. Uh, surprise her, shock, her, delight
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: her exactly one for one baby for animal. Yeah, don't
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: write back in, we answered it perfectly. That I can
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: just blow throughout the day satisfying. It really is a
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: stress reliever. I can't recommend it enough. I'm sitting here
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: with two people who are deeply jealous of my new gift,
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: Drew and on Alis, and there's nothing they can do
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: about it. Thank you for being here, then, thank you,
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: Thank you for this wonderful that's such a good time
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: with you, so much fun. Listener, The podcast is over.

- 1:09:49Speaker 2: theme song is by miracle worker Amy Mann, and we
