- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi, guys. What are you doing? Sir? We have a
- 0:05Speaker 1: new sound effect. I am fine. Well, okay, let's hear
- 0:08Speaker 1: the new sound effect found. Am I a honky? It
- 0:16Speaker 1: sits right next to fuck your sound effects machine? Are
- 0:20Speaker 1: you're excited about it? Yeah? Wasn't that a Sarah Chalk question?
- 0:24Speaker 1: At one point? Didn't she in the show? I think
- 0:28Speaker 1: in real life? Oh no, in real life she didn't know.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I think she didn't know the word because she's Canadian
- 0:35Speaker 1: and maybe they don't have that term in Canada. And
- 0:37Speaker 1: I think early on I said you don't know what
- 0:41Speaker 1: that means? And she goes, no, I go go ask
- 0:42Speaker 1: Donald if you are one, And I think she did
- 0:44Speaker 1: walk up to me and literally asked me Donald like
- 0:48Speaker 1: an Elliott voice. Yeah, like Janitor Canada. Am I a honky? Dude?
- 0:55Speaker 1: It's so hot outside that the UK is losing their
- 0:59Speaker 1: mother faking mind. You came on fire? Well? Oh yeah,
- 1:03Speaker 1: because they traditionally don't have air conditioning in their in
- 1:06Speaker 1: their wilds. The yo they're telling listen man, like the
- 1:11Speaker 1: it's like, uh, don't look up that movie. Don't look up.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I saw It's just like that in the UK right
- 1:17Speaker 1: now where the meteorologists and all of the weather people
- 1:20Speaker 1: are like, Yo, it's gonna be so hot that we're
- 1:23Speaker 1: not We're not built for this. It's gonna be hot.
- 1:26Speaker 1: They're gonna be casualties. It's gonna be hot like that,
- 1:28Speaker 1: And then the freaking anchors and everything are like, yo,
- 1:31Speaker 1: you need to chill out with all of this gloom
- 1:33Speaker 1: to It was that I saw that same viral video.
- 1:37Speaker 1: It was it was literally they're like, don't look up
- 1:40Speaker 1: the movie in real life, and the anchor was like, oh,
- 1:44Speaker 1: come on, Jim, it's not that bad, and he's like, no, seriously,
- 1:47Speaker 1: there's gonna be thousands of fatalities because of this. Yeah, well,
- 1:52Speaker 1: senior citizens and people who can't handle it sitting in
- 1:56Speaker 1: a fucking I'm gonna be honest for the first time
- 2:00Speaker 1: in my life, I'm hoping that the meteorologists gets it wrong,
- 2:05Speaker 1: or that the weather man gets it wrong right, but
- 2:08Speaker 1: he's coming out. It's just it's just across Europe they
- 2:12Speaker 1: can I guess, you know, they can tell that they're
- 2:15Speaker 1: just not prepared for these temperatures. Do you say the
- 2:18Speaker 1: video of the in China they showed they had saw
- 2:21Speaker 1: this video, so you know how they have this hardcore
- 2:23Speaker 1: um COVID people. They're all in white suits, you know,
- 2:27Speaker 1: they look like Ninja's like like all buttoned up like
- 2:30Speaker 1: that and like all white suits and they're all taped
- 2:32Speaker 1: up like mega hardcore. These people are are collapsing in
- 2:38Speaker 1: the heat. And they showed this one woman they opened
- 2:42Speaker 1: up her her ankle where you know, where it's taped,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and water comes pouring out and you you're like, what
- 2:49Speaker 1: is that? It's sweat. Yeah, it looked like did you
- 2:52Speaker 1: see that video? It was it was it was It's
- 2:54Speaker 1: all over the it was all over the web yesterday,
- 2:56Speaker 1: and it was just like these people are like China
- 2:59Speaker 1: is is is particularly really really really fucking hot right
- 3:02Speaker 1: now and these people and their hardcore COVID outfits are
- 3:05Speaker 1: still having to do their job or you know, it's insane. Yeah,
- 3:11Speaker 1: there's this is this is what they were talking about. Yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 1: this is coming a bit earlier, you know, you know earlier.
- 3:19Speaker 1: That's earlier than they predicted. What the end of the
- 3:21Speaker 1: world or that the heat the heat wave that's coming
- 3:24Speaker 1: well both, I mean the these they said the heat
- 3:26Speaker 1: wave would be right now the next five years. They said,
- 3:29Speaker 1: if we can correct it within this five years, we're good.
- 3:32Speaker 1: But if I thought I thought, I thought, I heard
- 3:35Speaker 1: that someone say, again, this is all just like stuff
- 3:39Speaker 1: you see on I watched a lot of news and
- 3:42Speaker 1: skim shit on on the interwebs. But someone saying that
- 3:45Speaker 1: these are whereby far exceeding the graph of of of
- 3:49Speaker 1: what they expected the temperatures to be reaching. Oh wow,
- 3:53Speaker 1: is right, Daniel, you know this stuff. Yeah, it's going
- 3:56Speaker 1: to be getting hotter for a while, and there's a
- 3:57Speaker 1: lot of mitigating efforts that we can do. However, or
- 4:00Speaker 1: there's still enough carbon in the air that is trapped
- 4:03Speaker 1: by our atmosphere right now to hit that two degrees
- 4:05Speaker 1: celsius of warming that like we were told like, oh
- 4:07Speaker 1: we might, we may might not hit. It's like that's
- 4:09Speaker 1: just kind of a fact. We're going to hit that.
- 4:11Speaker 1: We would need to really cut carbon emissions like entirely
- 4:16Speaker 1: right now and then start our MIDI year. That's not
- 4:18Speaker 1: going to happen. Let's be honest. Yeah, no, it's not happen. Well,
- 4:21Speaker 1: it's not a good time to buy a house at
- 4:23Speaker 1: sea level, no, precisely, um, but it is. It is
- 4:26Speaker 1: a good time to invest in, you know, technology companies
- 4:30Speaker 1: that are looking at things like carbon capture. I mean,
- 4:32Speaker 1: we don't have anything really huge in that department yet,
- 4:34Speaker 1: but that's like what we need to do. What we
- 4:36Speaker 1: need to be doing is taking carbon out of the
- 4:39Speaker 1: out of the atmosphere, because the amount that's already trapped
- 4:41Speaker 1: there from all of the natural expulsion of whatever that
- 4:44Speaker 1: we've done already is enough to hit that two degrees
- 4:46Speaker 1: of warming. We should be clear climate change was going
- 4:50Speaker 1: to happen regardless. We just boosted it. Why you wearing
- 4:54Speaker 1: a hoodie? Is your ac so crank that you're wearing
- 4:57Speaker 1: a hoodie? No? I like to sweat, Okay, hell yeah,
- 5:02Speaker 1: I just don't understand because it's really fucking hot out
- 5:04Speaker 1: and you're wearing Yeah it is. It is really hot
- 5:06Speaker 1: out right now, and I kind of like to sweat
- 5:09Speaker 1: a little, can you do? Yeah? I like to get
- 5:13Speaker 1: a nice little lather going, Hey, doom, your eyes, get
- 5:17Speaker 1: it all nice and lathering. Today's my last night on
- 5:20Speaker 1: the TV show. Oh, I have a night to night
- 5:24Speaker 1: driving scene with sol Han Solo, Jason Siegel, and Michael Yuri.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Do you know him? He's really funny? I bet he is.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And then I'm done. Congratulations. I think I might go
- 5:37Speaker 1: flying with Harrison Ford, whoa Donald? How do you feel
- 5:41Speaker 1: about this? This is gonna make your eat your villain
- 5:44Speaker 1: origin story. Um, it's already begun. It's already begun. It
- 5:49Speaker 1: has already begun. Ninety eight percent of the comments on
- 5:52Speaker 1: my picture of Harrison Ford on Instagram are are everyone
- 5:55Speaker 1: checking in on you? On your on your health or
- 5:58Speaker 1: so like. They're very sweet and very empathetic. They're like,
- 6:01Speaker 1: how's Donald? Very funny? You can come flying with us
- 6:06Speaker 1: if you want. No, no, no, no, no, no no,
- 6:08Speaker 1: I'm good. Just just be careful with it. Well, I'm
- 6:12Speaker 1: a private pilot, so as long as he stays in
- 6:13Speaker 1: a prop plane, I feel like I'm a good copilot.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I can't fly chess. That's that's great. I'm good. He
- 6:21Speaker 1: implied that he was going to invite me, and I was,
- 6:25Speaker 1: I'm totally down. You wouldn't go If I said, my
- 6:32Speaker 1: friend Donald wants to come with us, I'm gonna chew
- 6:35Speaker 1: eat the fuck out of it. So if anything goes wrong,
- 6:37Speaker 1: we're fine. I'm good. Yeah, would you not come? Uh?
- 6:46Speaker 1: You know? With Harrison Ford's record of crashing prop prop planes,
- 6:49Speaker 1: first of all, in his defense, in his defense, it
- 6:51Speaker 1: was an old antique plane and it was ended it
- 6:54Speaker 1: successfully on No, he really did. So the story is
- 6:57Speaker 1: actually that he's about the helicopters. I think he doesn't
- 7:02Speaker 1: had a helicopter accident. The one that was the one
- 7:05Speaker 1: that was dan, I'll look it up. The one that
- 7:07Speaker 1: was highly publicized was an old plane that lost its
- 7:10Speaker 1: engine and he successfully landed on a golf course, I'm sorry,
- 7:15Speaker 1: on Penmark golf course. He landed it. In nineteen eighty nine,
- 7:18Speaker 1: he crashed landed his helicopter during a training flight in
- 7:21Speaker 1: Los Angeles, but both he and the instructor were unhurt. Yeah,
- 7:24Speaker 1: he was training. A year later, a plane he was
- 7:31Speaker 1: flying had to make an emergency landing in Nebraska. Again,
- 7:34Speaker 1: he and his passenger escaped unhurt. He's a badass, so
- 7:37Speaker 1: even if he crashes, he's good at it. So if
- 7:43Speaker 1: you were me and you were a private pilot and
- 7:44Speaker 1: you could land a propeller plane, you wouldn't go. Yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 1: I would totally go if I could fly. If I
- 7:49Speaker 1: could fly, here's the thing. At some point in it,
- 7:53Speaker 1: you have you if something were to go wrong, Yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you at least have enough knowledge to be like, I
- 7:58Speaker 1: could be in some way of control of this situation. Yeah,
- 8:02Speaker 1: I feel like if it's I don't want to be
- 8:04Speaker 1: in the back seat. Just be like, that's so loud, Daniel,
- 8:09Speaker 1: it went red and I'm all the way at six.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I appreciate that thing. Well, I will, um, I will
- 8:14Speaker 1: keep everyone updated if if it goes down. I mean,
- 8:18Speaker 1: no pun intended. All right, should we get into the show?
- 8:23Speaker 1: Very funny, there's some other things that we need to Okay,
- 8:25Speaker 1: go ahead, brother, go ahead. It's so fucking hot. We
- 8:29Speaker 1: did that, we did did we do that bit already?
- 8:32Speaker 1: I just thought we should re just re retouch on
- 8:34Speaker 1: the it's so hot. It's hot, and I'm grateful to
- 8:37Speaker 1: to have air conditioning and I'm grateful to have a
- 8:40Speaker 1: roof over my head. And uh, we have to remember
- 8:44Speaker 1: how blessed we are. Some people are lying out on
- 8:46Speaker 1: the fucking cement right now, and uh, it's it's lethal
- 8:53Speaker 1: yether cooking, literally cooking. Yeah, anyway, let's get into the show.
- 8:59Speaker 1: All right. It's about Scrubs, the TV show. You guys
- 9:01Speaker 1: remember that show and there show was there a show
- 9:04Speaker 1: called Scrubs that there was. It was very beloved and
- 9:07Speaker 1: um and um, this is a long episode. I believe
- 9:10Speaker 1: it's a super sized one because it's twenty five minutes long.
- 9:12Speaker 1: We used to occasionally get um NBC would call it supersized,
- 9:17Speaker 1: and I think this is one of those because it's
- 9:19Speaker 1: twenty five as opposed to twenty two. Well, this is
- 9:22Speaker 1: one of my Mike McDonald's. Yeah, this is one of
- 9:24Speaker 1: my Mike McDonald First of all, this is one of
- 9:26Speaker 1: my favorite supersized episode. Very good episode, very funny and
- 9:31Speaker 1: counter about show we made about a bunch of nurses.
- 9:47Speaker 1: So get around here, a yeahdoo around here. Mike McDonald,
- 9:57Speaker 1: famous from Matt TV, has gone on to become a
- 10:00Speaker 1: director of television. Yes, he starred in other things obviously. Yeah,
- 10:05Speaker 1: but he's one of the funnier people that came in
- 10:09Speaker 1: as a director. Yes, there were very few directors that
- 10:13Speaker 1: could come in and actually have joke input on things.
- 10:18Speaker 1: That's very true. Donald and Mike would come in and
- 10:21Speaker 1: his jokes would make the show. So the best comedy
- 10:25Speaker 1: director in TV archetype that we we both liked, was
- 10:32Speaker 1: someone who not only could direct the show and and
- 10:35Speaker 1: and make the camera move in a cool way and
- 10:38Speaker 1: go quickly, but also could come up with additional jokes.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Was there to pitch alongside me and Donald and Bill
- 10:45Speaker 1: and Neil and everybody. And Mike was certainly one of
- 10:48Speaker 1: those people because he's, you know, an improv sketch comedian
- 10:52Speaker 1: from Mad TV, most famously Um and this was his
- 10:55Speaker 1: very first episode. He's gone on to become a successful
- 10:57Speaker 1: TV director. And but he's not only the director of
- 11:01Speaker 1: this episode, Donald, but he's the voice of doctor Toilett,
- 11:08Speaker 1: you and else. You know what else is special about
- 11:10Speaker 1: this episode? Oh, I already knows what else is special
- 11:13Speaker 1: about this episode? Caught it. I thought you might have
- 11:15Speaker 1: missed him. I'm not gonna miss that no way. As
- 11:18Speaker 1: a matter of fact, I even looked for it. So
- 11:22Speaker 1: for so my father, who has since passed away, everybody
- 11:25Speaker 1: and my stepmother came to visit on the day of
- 11:27Speaker 1: the convention where it's revealed that Elizabeth Banks, the character
- 11:32Speaker 1: of Kim, is pregnant. And if you look, I wrote
- 11:35Speaker 1: down the time codes they get featured around ten minutes
- 11:38Speaker 1: and thirty three seconds, in eleven minutes and five seconds,
- 11:42Speaker 1: in thirteen minutes and seventeen seconds in if you're curious.
- 11:46Speaker 1: In the beautiful light blue sweater. That is my father,
- 11:49Speaker 1: who I miss a lot, and my stepmother's next to him,
- 11:52Speaker 1: and he just loved the show, and he loved Donald
- 11:56Speaker 1: and he was so proud of us, and and and
- 12:00Speaker 1: also you know, as I've said before, I got into
- 12:02Speaker 1: acting because my father loved acting. My father did community theater.
- 12:05Speaker 1: So not to not to like, you know, brag about
- 12:08Speaker 1: my dad, but if you look at his background work,
- 12:10Speaker 1: he's really killing it and doing a great job. He does.
- 12:13Speaker 1: He crushes. Not every background not every background person is
- 12:17Speaker 1: as good as my father. My father sold the hell
- 12:19Speaker 1: out of attendee at a conference. The thing that got
- 12:23Speaker 1: me was how young they both look. Yeah, I mean
- 12:26Speaker 1: it was like wow, you know what I mean. That
- 12:28Speaker 1: was so it was just so beautiful. I found myself
- 12:33Speaker 1: this is what happened. The scene happened, and right away
- 12:37Speaker 1: I said, oh shit, housing this housing this right right,
- 12:40Speaker 1: And so it comes again and now I'm looking in
- 12:42Speaker 1: the backgrounds like I know, he's behind us, where is he?
- 12:44Speaker 1: And then I found him right away. Yeah. Yeah, it
- 12:46Speaker 1: looks so handsome. He looks a lot like you know,
- 12:49Speaker 1: he get used to get literally mistaken for Hugh Heffner.
- 12:52Speaker 1: He does look like um, a bit like Hugh Hefner.
- 12:55Speaker 1: He did look like a bit like Hugh Hefner, and
- 12:57Speaker 1: for the most part, people would come up to him
- 12:59Speaker 1: and go, I know who you are, and I'll leave
- 13:01Speaker 1: you alone. Like it was that much. And when one
- 13:04Speaker 1: time at a one time at a Mets game he
- 13:06Speaker 1: loved the metson he would go to lots of Mets games.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I got him seasons tickets, and he one time, instead
- 13:12Speaker 1: of being like I'm not, I'm not not like the vendor,
- 13:15Speaker 1: one of the vendors was like, I know who you are,
- 13:18Speaker 1: but I'll leave you alone. Um, and my dad instead
- 13:21Speaker 1: of being like no, no, no no, no, he kind of
- 13:23Speaker 1: pointed at the guy like our little secret. And then
- 13:26Speaker 1: of course the vendor went on to tell everyone in
- 13:29Speaker 1: the row that Hugh Hefner was in the section, and
- 13:35Speaker 1: it got to the point whe people coming down to
- 13:36Speaker 1: look at him and people and my dad was like,
- 13:38Speaker 1: we gotta, we gotta move. We can't, we can't stay here,
- 13:43Speaker 1: because it was like distracting him from the game, so
- 13:46Speaker 1: he had to move. Do you have any pictures of that,
- 13:49Speaker 1: like when you were a kid of like people that
- 13:50Speaker 1: you thought was somebody else and then you took a
- 13:52Speaker 1: picture with him, and then you look at it now
- 13:54Speaker 1: and you're like, oh the fuck is this? What do
- 13:58Speaker 1: you mean? I lost a track about yours. So on
- 14:00Speaker 1: the internet, there are a lot of pictures of people
- 14:03Speaker 1: who thought they met Michael Jackson, or thought they met me,
- 14:07Speaker 1: or thought they met like, you know, all of these
- 14:10Speaker 1: other celebrities and stuff like that, people who kind of
- 14:13Speaker 1: favored not look alike look alikes, but favored, uh, these celebrities.
- 14:19Speaker 1: So I saw one where it's clearly not Michael Jackson.
- 14:26Speaker 1: It is an impersonator, it's not even a but it
- 14:29Speaker 1: doesn't it's clearly not Michael Jackson. And this kid's got
- 14:32Speaker 1: his arm around him all geeked. And I guess Mike
- 14:35Speaker 1: came to the hood in this kid's mind, you know
- 14:38Speaker 1: what I mean, came all the way down to like
- 14:40Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I've seen pictures of people
- 14:43Speaker 1: have sent me d ms saying it was so fun
- 14:48Speaker 1: hanging out with you tonight. Thanks for the picture. And
- 14:51Speaker 1: it's somebody else, yeah, one of them. One dude. One
- 14:56Speaker 1: dude's like literally you could tell at some point these
- 15:00Speaker 1: people decided to pay for his drink or something, and
- 15:02Speaker 1: he was like, yeah, fucking I'm Donald Fazon, I don't
- 15:05Speaker 1: And he ran with it. I had this thing with
- 15:08Speaker 1: Dax where sometimes um people will be like, hey, man,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I just loved we go to prison. What's the Dax's
- 15:16Speaker 1: movie about prison? Oh? I don't know, Dan, I'll look
- 15:18Speaker 1: it up, but something he was in some movie like,
- 15:21Speaker 1: And then I'll always text Dax and be like, just
- 15:23Speaker 1: so you know, the guy at the hardware store, um,
- 15:27Speaker 1: last Hollywood loves Let's go to prison. That's the one.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Let's go to prison. And then I'll be like I
- 15:32Speaker 1: told him that I Dax do not like it when
- 15:34Speaker 1: people make eye contact with me. Please refrain from talking
- 15:41Speaker 1: to me. You should be like you should next time
- 15:44Speaker 1: somebody does that. You should And you get to the
- 15:46Speaker 1: no eye contact part, you should first talk about yourself
- 15:50Speaker 1: in the third person. First of all, das don't take
- 15:55Speaker 1: and never really do it. But I always tell Dax
- 15:57Speaker 1: was like that that whomever has mistaken me for him,
- 16:00Speaker 1: that I was very rude to them and tell them
- 16:04Speaker 1: that yeah, like third person, like, do not look Dax
- 16:07Speaker 1: in the eyes. All right. So Elliott is super stoked
- 16:17Speaker 1: because Schmer and Keith are planning a wedding. Yes, but
- 16:22Speaker 1: really Elliot's planning the wedding. He says to her two
- 16:25Speaker 1: months is not out of timely because Elliott has backed
- 16:27Speaker 1: it into a church reservation she's made for many, many years.
- 16:31Speaker 1: And all Elliott hears in when Keith says two months
- 16:35Speaker 1: is not of time is go ahead and do whatever
- 16:38Speaker 1: you want, regardless of what I say. And she's off
- 16:42Speaker 1: to the races, planning her wedding within two months. Yes, um,
- 16:48Speaker 1: you say something like refeeing up. Um, Well, first of all,
- 16:54Speaker 1: JD can't stop thinking about Elliott. Yes, well, you know
- 16:59Speaker 1: that happen when when you know, you might think you're
- 17:01Speaker 1: over someone and then you hear that they're engaged or
- 17:03Speaker 1: they had a baby, and you're like, oh shit, it's
- 17:06Speaker 1: harder now, you know, Yeah, I know, well they have
- 17:09Speaker 1: a baby. What do you mean, Well, no, no, I
- 17:12Speaker 1: mean like a shit ton of responsibility at that point.
- 17:14Speaker 1: So you know, he's caught feelings because you know, shit's
- 17:17Speaker 1: getting real with Keith, real, real, real, real, Like well, yeah,
- 17:20Speaker 1: it's marriage real, that's that's crazy. So to take his
- 17:23Speaker 1: mind off a thing, Turk invites Jad to Phoenix to
- 17:26Speaker 1: a surgical uh conference right in uh where there's gonna
- 17:33Speaker 1: be chicks, there's gonna be food, it's gonna be drink.
- 17:37Speaker 1: They can do all of their little jokes that they've
- 17:41Speaker 1: wanted to do. You can go on a wacky adventure.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And we do a joke about how when you when
- 17:46Speaker 1: in films, when you crane up and the car's going
- 17:48Speaker 1: off in the distance, you can still hear people talking. Yeah,
- 17:51Speaker 1: well the car is off screen and now it's just
- 17:55Speaker 1: now it's just a picture of a parking lot. They're
- 17:58Speaker 1: still talking and turcast to go pee and they just left.
- 18:02Speaker 1: But before that, we have a basic instinct too. Joke
- 18:05Speaker 1: where JD shows that he used movie phone for those
- 18:09Speaker 1: of you who are too young to know. And it's amazing,
- 18:12Speaker 1: you guys, that we have listeners who are too young
- 18:14Speaker 1: to know what movie phone. I appreciate. I'm gonna say
- 18:17Speaker 1: this right now. I appreciate those listeners. I appreciate you.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I appreciate you for going what the heck is movie phone?
- 18:23Speaker 1: I appreciate you for not knowing what the facts machine
- 18:26Speaker 1: sounds like. I appreciate the modem dialing up. Yeah, I
- 18:29Speaker 1: appreciate you for that. I appreciate you. Will certain Danil
- 18:33Speaker 1: will insert a old school modem dialing up noise here.
- 18:37Speaker 1: This is how we used to connect to the yes
- 18:39Speaker 1: beginnings of the internet music to my ears. But we
- 18:53Speaker 1: used to call for those of you who don't know
- 18:54Speaker 1: to find out movie times before the internet on a landline.
- 18:58Speaker 1: You'd call on online from a landline, and I knew
- 19:00Speaker 1: a pretty good impression of the guy. You're ready, Yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 1: if you know the name of the movie, you'd like
- 19:07Speaker 1: to see pros. That's pretty good, right, Yeah? And then
- 19:13Speaker 1: remember when they made it so that you had to
- 19:14Speaker 1: type the first three letters yes, And then he would
- 19:17Speaker 1: be like if you selected arrow, oh yeah, he would
- 19:21Speaker 1: do like the tone of the movie, he'd be like,
- 19:23Speaker 1: you have selected die Hard or you have selected up. Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 1: you have selected yeah. Like if it was an up movie,
- 19:37Speaker 1: if it was a comedy, he'd do a little twist.
- 19:40Speaker 1: If it was a dark movie, he'd go down. Yeah.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I wonder what he would do for like romantic comedy
- 19:46Speaker 1: just or not? Can't be a comedy, just like romance movies.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Maybe like you have selected When Harry Met Sally. That's
- 19:55Speaker 1: one of my favorite movies of all time. Man, it's
- 19:57Speaker 1: a classic. It's one of my favorite. Anyway, that guy
- 19:59Speaker 1: owned the compan the little tribute for you. I did
- 20:02Speaker 1: not know that, Yeah, I did not know that anyway.
- 20:06Speaker 1: So that's how we used to find out. If I
- 20:07Speaker 1: did not know that, Press one. If you know the
- 20:10Speaker 1: name of the movie you'd like to see. Press one.
- 20:14Speaker 1: For a list of other movies, Press two, or to
- 20:18Speaker 1: browse or to brood let the third one, or to
- 20:23Speaker 1: browse through a current list of movie through a current
- 20:26Speaker 1: list of movies that are out. Please anyway. So JD
- 20:32Speaker 1: is calling to look up Basic Instinct two and which
- 20:36Speaker 1: I've never seen. Have any of you seen Basic Instinct two?
- 20:39Speaker 1: I don't think the people that were in Basic Instinct
- 20:41Speaker 1: too Basic Instinct too well. The only reason anyone saw
- 20:44Speaker 1: Basic Instinct one was because it was very controversial um
- 20:48Speaker 1: and got a dynamite cast Tod. I'm just saying, you
- 20:52Speaker 1: cannot basically minimize you cannot minimize the controversy of the
- 20:58Speaker 1: Vagina Shop, which was which hadn't been done in an
- 21:01Speaker 1: R rated movie. But it was a closeup of a
- 21:03Speaker 1: vagina as her. It wasn't a close up. Oh, it
- 21:06Speaker 1: wasn't close upould have been just vagina labia, pure labia.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I thought that's what it was. No, it was a
- 21:15Speaker 1: shot of her sinning and she was at a skirt
- 21:18Speaker 1: on and she had her legs crossed, and then she
- 21:21Speaker 1: uncrossed her legs to reveal to the detectives who are
- 21:24Speaker 1: interrogating her her labia MAJORA and um. And then she
- 21:28Speaker 1: crossed her legs again, and it was very titilating and
- 21:32Speaker 1: very taboo for an R rated movie. Taboo. Hold on now,
- 21:37Speaker 1: when you say tittilating meaning your nipples got aroused, No,
- 21:41Speaker 1: tittilating means arousing, right, Tonald Right, dw Yeah indeed, but
- 21:46Speaker 1: but I mean that might be a side effect. Maybe Yeah,
- 21:48Speaker 1: a side effect might be your nipples getting hard, But
- 21:49Speaker 1: tittilating means arousing. It was naughty, it was provocative, It
- 21:56Speaker 1: made things shift. Did you see this movie as a kid?
- 22:00Speaker 1: I think I did. I'm sure I shifted. I don't know.
- 22:02Speaker 1: It was so many I'm going to say something right now,
- 22:03Speaker 1: I've never seen Basic Instinct. Oh, well you can. I'm
- 22:06Speaker 1: sure you can YouTube the scene. Do you think it's
- 22:08Speaker 1: still as provocative as it was back then? It's still
- 22:11Speaker 1: a young Sharon Stone looking like a knockout showing her
- 22:15Speaker 1: lady of MAJORA. Wow, I've seen a lot of Sharon
- 22:22Speaker 1: Stone movies. It was actually a good movie, I think, right,
- 22:26Speaker 1: Daniel I don't remember. Yeah, absolutely, I mean I think
- 22:28Speaker 1: it's a pretty widely regarded, like decent movie. It was.
- 22:31Speaker 1: It was Paul Verhoeven, I think right, it was What's
- 22:35Speaker 1: the One? What's the One? With Michael Douglas and Bid Attraction? Yes,
- 22:40Speaker 1: when I was a good movie. That's a scary movie.
- 22:43Speaker 1: That's a good movie. I recommend that I have a funny.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Oh y'all out there, who think I have a funny,
- 22:51Speaker 1: this is what could happen. I have a funny anecdote
- 22:54Speaker 1: about that movie. We were. I were Lauren as you know,
- 22:56Speaker 1: I went to high school Lauren Hill and I have
- 22:58Speaker 1: a memory we were all the same constants together, and
- 23:02Speaker 1: somehow it came up, um the discussion in high school like,
- 23:06Speaker 1: oh my god, don't go see certain movies with your parents,
- 23:10Speaker 1: Who'll be so embarrassed. And I remember Lauren Hill telling
- 23:13Speaker 1: the anecdote that she had gone to see Fatal Attraction
- 23:16Speaker 1: with her mother. Oh my gosh, which is a very
- 23:21Speaker 1: sexual movie. And you certainly wouldn't want to be sitting
- 23:24Speaker 1: next to your mother while watch him. Dude. One of
- 23:27Speaker 1: my because it's a random anager that popped in my
- 23:29Speaker 1: head when I thought of that movie. That's great because
- 23:32Speaker 1: this popped in my head because of that, because of
- 23:35Speaker 1: you know how popular mister T was when the A
- 23:37Speaker 1: Team came out. Right, he did a movie called DC Cab.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Did you see DC Cab? I think it was like
- 23:43Speaker 1: his only movie shot, right, No, he was in Rocky
- 23:46Speaker 1: three two. Man. Oh, I'm sorry, of course, but like
- 23:49Speaker 1: he didn't get outside of Rocky three. I don't think
- 23:51Speaker 1: he had that many shots. One of them, DC Cab
- 23:55Speaker 1: was Cab. Sorry, And there's a scene where they go
- 23:58Speaker 1: into the strip club in the movie. And we I
- 24:01Speaker 1: was very young when it came out, and the way
- 24:03Speaker 1: we sold it to this dude's mom was that mister
- 24:08Speaker 1: T is in the movie. It's there's mister T. There's
- 24:12Speaker 1: no way he'd ever do a movie. That's yeah, mister
- 24:13Speaker 1: T was very wholesome. Right, We go to the movie
- 24:17Speaker 1: and the strip scene happens, and she tells us to
- 24:20Speaker 1: cover our eyes. Who's your friend's mom? Yeah? Did you
- 24:24Speaker 1: do it? Come on, buddy? Yeah, man, I watched that
- 24:29Speaker 1: whole show. I was like, oh, ass, Titti's no vagina
- 24:33Speaker 1: but thong titty. I was yeah. I remember being like
- 24:38Speaker 1: holy shit. I remember at one point because at one point,
- 24:42Speaker 1: some girl comes out and she just has on a
- 24:43Speaker 1: towel and uh, the person grabs the towel. I think it.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I think it's even what's his name that does it? Uh,
- 24:49Speaker 1: that's this is his scene. Uh, Gary Busey, who's one
- 24:53Speaker 1: of the stars in this movie. Hep he ripped the towel,
- 24:58Speaker 1: including mister T. Yeah, mister T. Gary Busey rips the
- 25:02Speaker 1: towel off the stripper and she's standing in the street
- 25:05Speaker 1: yelling at them in the middle of DC butt naked,
- 25:09Speaker 1: and I just remember being like, oh shit, and my
- 25:12Speaker 1: you know, saying that out loud, and my friend's mom
- 25:16Speaker 1: being like, oh my god, what's your mouth? Before she
- 25:20Speaker 1: was in over her head to us only it was wholesome.
- 25:24Speaker 1: She had to go and tell my mom what was
- 25:26Speaker 1: in the movie. After the boys have seen some titties. Yeah,
- 25:29Speaker 1: we've seen some things, Shirley, surely. I remember walking to
- 25:34Speaker 1: my parents room. We didn't have a cable. We had
- 25:35Speaker 1: a thing in Jersey called WHT. You never heard of that?
- 25:38Speaker 1: WHOA do you remember WHT? Oh? They played porn on
- 25:42Speaker 1: WHT on WHT? Yes they did, well, okay, maybe late night.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I was I was very young and but we didn't
- 25:50Speaker 1: get cable in my town for some reason. But for
- 25:52Speaker 1: some reason, the only thing we got was like the
- 25:53Speaker 1: early HBO um was this box and you couldn't get
- 25:57Speaker 1: Maybe it came to the phone line. I don't know
- 25:58Speaker 1: how it worked, but we had ht WHT was eight
- 26:02Speaker 1: was the equivalent of HBO. It was just like HBO Rush,
- 26:05Speaker 1: but this was like for some reason, my town didn't
- 26:08Speaker 1: get a normal cable and so it's all we had,
- 26:10Speaker 1: and they were all rated movies. My bad. Let me
- 26:12Speaker 1: let me say one thing just to just to before
- 26:14Speaker 1: you go into it. HBO came in a cable box.
- 26:18Speaker 1: WHT you had to order through something. I don't know
- 26:21Speaker 1: if it was a phone or something, a separate thing,
- 26:23Speaker 1: but it was something completely different. There was a box, right,
- 26:27Speaker 1: but there was the WHT box and then there was
- 26:29Speaker 1: the the whatever the cable box. All we had was WHT.
- 26:33Speaker 1: And I remember my brother, older brother was allowed to
- 26:36Speaker 1: be in my It was only in my parents room,
- 26:38Speaker 1: and he was allowed to be in there watching al
- 26:40Speaker 1: rated movies. And I walk in and he's watching stripes
- 26:43Speaker 1: number stripes of course, and there's a big mud wrestling
- 26:47Speaker 1: naked mud wrestling scene. Bill Murray yeah, and I and
- 26:51Speaker 1: I walk in and I'm like, He goes, You're not
- 26:53Speaker 1: allowed to be in here, being like the tough older brother,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and I'm like, yes, I am. And he's like this
- 26:59Speaker 1: is an already, You're not allowed to be in your
- 27:01Speaker 1: get out and I was like, it's not our And
- 27:04Speaker 1: then he goes up to the TV where the mudresting
- 27:06Speaker 1: scene was happening. He goes, really, what are these kick
- 27:18Speaker 1: me out? It was like it was like the prosecution,
- 27:23Speaker 1: the prosecution rested. I was like, those are titties? Man?
- 27:40Speaker 1: Which brother? Was it? Gosh? I had I had nothing
- 27:43Speaker 1: left to say those yeah turning kick kick what is it? Kick?
- 27:50Speaker 1: Mud rocks? Kick rocks? All right? Back to the show. Um,
- 27:57Speaker 1: we come back and so we go to say she
- 28:00Speaker 1: didn't even show her over JJ and I see it's
- 28:02Speaker 1: it's on the DVD extras labeled Vagina Right. Why are
- 28:06Speaker 1: we inside with shades on? We're just trying to look cool.
- 28:10Speaker 1: By the way, for those of you who follow who
- 28:12Speaker 1: like trivia and scrubs wiki things, you'll notice that the
- 28:16Speaker 1: lobby of our Phoenix Hotel is the same place where
- 28:19Speaker 1: we held the TCW funeral home. It's also the formers
- 28:27Speaker 1: of Sportsman's Lodge. Sportsman's Lodge in Hollywood, it's not there anymore,
- 28:31Speaker 1: not in Hollywood. In the valley. Sorry, in the valley
- 28:34Speaker 1: they tore down. Uh they built a new one. I
- 28:37Speaker 1: think I know there's a I know there's an Air
- 28:39Speaker 1: one over there. If you ever want to buy expensive
- 28:41Speaker 1: but good food, go to Air one. There you go.
- 28:44Speaker 1: That's donald for with a free Air one player. And
- 28:46Speaker 1: when I mean expensive, I mean you know how whole
- 28:48Speaker 1: food just hold checks. This motherfucker will take your house.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I know people not in LA probably don't know what
- 28:56Speaker 1: it is, or you've influencers are always like posting that
- 28:58Speaker 1: they're there. It's it's it's beautiful, but it's the food
- 29:02Speaker 1: is amazing too. It's it's beautiful, but it's stupid expensive.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Let me tell you something ain't not in Like strawberries
- 29:07Speaker 1: from Air one. Yeah, Like people are always you can
- 29:11Speaker 1: look online and people posting like the dumbest shit they'll find,
- 29:14Speaker 1: like bone broth one hundred dollars. Yeah, ridiculous. But anyway
- 29:18Speaker 1: back to my point, Um, if you like um little
- 29:21Speaker 1: scrubs Wicky trivia like that, Um, that's the same lobby
- 29:25Speaker 1: where we did tasty Komo wife's husband's funeral and Amy
- 29:30Speaker 1: Smart and I Mac in the closet. There's something else
- 29:33Speaker 1: that was there. Also that Spiller directed the episode. I'm
- 29:36Speaker 1: sure we used it a bunch. Is like generic Big Big.
- 29:40Speaker 1: You could see it in so many movies. Also, I'm
- 29:43Speaker 1: sure it's a go too. And then this is my
- 29:45Speaker 1: favorite part of the television show, Old MC shows up. Wait, sorry,
- 29:50Speaker 1: does Old MC come before Kelso and his posse's strut in?
- 29:53Speaker 1: And Kelso says, me and my fellow chiefs of medicine
- 29:56Speaker 1: gonna tear this bitch up. That was funny. Well yeah,
- 30:02Speaker 1: and then Kelso walking around with the bottle glued to
- 30:04Speaker 1: his face for the rest of the episode was hilarious too,
- 30:07Speaker 1: and was very funny in this episode, very funny. You
- 30:09Speaker 1: could tell he was having fun. Yeah, okay, so yes,
- 30:12Speaker 1: Old MC. Now explain to me. I had to look
- 30:15Speaker 1: it up to see if this really wasn't really Young MC.
- 30:19Speaker 1: It's not. It's an actor. No, it's an actor playing right,
- 30:22Speaker 1: So Daniel, if you could, I'll look it up. I
- 30:26Speaker 1: happened to just look it up, so I'll look it
- 30:27Speaker 1: up for you. So hold on, let's shout him out
- 30:30Speaker 1: Leon Simmons Junior played Old Young MC. So Leon Simmons
- 30:34Speaker 1: Junior who played Old MC. Yeah, the Young MC impersonator
- 30:42Speaker 1: a conventions at conventions was cast because we asked Young
- 30:47Speaker 1: MC to do the show. He didn't want to do
- 30:49Speaker 1: it because he didn't want to play himself. He wanted
- 30:51Speaker 1: to play somebody else and he probably wouldn't say his
- 30:54Speaker 1: catchphrase bust to move, because that's always extra. We learned
- 30:56Speaker 1: from JC in Good Times that's saying Dino Light was extra.
- 30:59Speaker 1: I don't know that's the I don't know if that's
- 31:01Speaker 1: the case. I don't because I don't think that's his catchphrase.
- 31:04Speaker 1: But we learned that. He was like, I'm not gonna
- 31:07Speaker 1: play myself. I'll play anybody else. And we were like,
- 31:09Speaker 1: but the joke is right, and he's like no. So somehow, Bill,
- 31:15Speaker 1: the genius that he is, created Old m C. Old
- 31:22Speaker 1: MC is in the world of Scrubs, a Young MC
- 31:25Speaker 1: impersonator only at conventions. Only at conventions. He makes that
- 31:29Speaker 1: convention money. But he's really freaking He's like and he
- 31:33Speaker 1: does his job well. He'll sit at the bar with
- 31:36Speaker 1: you and say, bust to move. That's all he'll say.
- 31:40Speaker 1: That's it. Till the end. Till the end when Jad
- 31:42Speaker 1: finally has another you have a problem, sir. But Jad
- 31:45Speaker 1: takes his advice and busts to move right on out
- 31:48Speaker 1: of the Jady goes against Turk's advice to stay and
- 31:52Speaker 1: deal with this new surprise instead busts to move back
- 31:56Speaker 1: to the hospital. Right. Okay, So to this day, Leon
- 32:01Speaker 1: and I have played golf together. Oh really, you know, dude,
- 32:05Speaker 1: we run into each other at the golf course and
- 32:07Speaker 1: played around at Van Eye's golf course. It's a little executive, uh,
- 32:14Speaker 1: a couple of times and have waved to each other.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I want to get him a shout out. He did
- 32:20Speaker 1: a great job on this man. It was funny just
- 32:23Speaker 1: with his facial expressions alone, because you know, saying bust
- 32:27Speaker 1: to move over and over and over again can get old,
- 32:30Speaker 1: you know what I mean, No pun intended, and he
- 32:32Speaker 1: found a way to make it. Well. We are riffs
- 32:34Speaker 1: to him. Are so funny When I'm like you, bust
- 32:36Speaker 1: to move, You're the one who should be busting moves. Yeah,
- 32:41Speaker 1: we're so geeked. Oh my god, did Young MC have
- 32:44Speaker 1: other hit songs other than bust to Move? Don't just
- 32:46Speaker 1: send that bust to move you move it, you got it?
- 32:54Speaker 1: Got it? I think that's it? Okad wild thing? Yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 1: my god, remember funky cold Medina. But one of these
- 33:04Speaker 1: one of the one of these things are the same.
- 33:06Speaker 1: One of these things were like, wasn't it the same? Nope,
- 33:11Speaker 1: never mind, I want to give you a piece of
- 33:12Speaker 1: funky cold Meadina. Just be putting on the young kids
- 33:15Speaker 1: should know what is funky coldmandina? Nobody knows, I think,
- 33:25Speaker 1: but it's it isn't an aphrodisiac. I think so it's
- 33:30Speaker 1: a drink. Oh, it's a drink. And I think it's
- 33:33Speaker 1: an app and got a boar, aren't. I'm looking for smac.
- 33:38Speaker 1: But like Lake Jaggers said, I can't get no satisfact
- 33:42Speaker 1: I can't get no ram. But none of them want
- 33:45Speaker 1: to get with me. All right for thirty seconds, I
- 33:47Speaker 1: don't know. I think. Is I recall the lyrics? Yeah,
- 33:51Speaker 1: one of the lyrics something about it being an apphrodisiac. Right,
- 33:55Speaker 1: you're right, yes, it is that. We talked about this
- 33:57Speaker 1: already on the show. No we didn't, Yeah we did.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Did we ever bring on funky Colmandina because Elizabeth Banks
- 34:04Speaker 1: character die of something died of a funk from a
- 34:08Speaker 1: funky Comadina which coina. No, she hasn't died yet, she's pregnant. No,
- 34:13Speaker 1: that's the thing. Is somebody that she knew died from
- 34:17Speaker 1: a funky coma. I don't remember, and it's only like
- 34:21Speaker 1: twenty ago. I don't. I need Joel here. Joel's not
- 34:24Speaker 1: here today, but I need her to confirm that. We
- 34:26Speaker 1: go ahead, Dann, what is it? Long story short, You're right.
- 34:28Speaker 1: A funky colmadina is a is a afrodisiac kind of liquid. Yes,
- 34:33Speaker 1: basically tone locus. Samuel on the other side of the
- 34:35Speaker 1: club watching all these girls hang with this no name
- 34:37Speaker 1: chump and he's like, what's the deal, and he's like,
- 34:39Speaker 1: funky cole meadina. Oh okay, I'm not No, we're gonna
- 34:43Speaker 1: say a quick break. We'll be right back, my honky
- 34:52Speaker 1: and we're bad. Were bad? Eat these bowls? Zach okay um.
- 35:02Speaker 1: So Elliot's inviting everyone to her and is it her wedding?
- 35:07Speaker 1: And yeah, she's handing out invitations and she diss Colonel doctor,
- 35:11Speaker 1: Colonel doctor really badly. Poor girl doctor, poor doctor, poor
- 35:16Speaker 1: coleman Slovsky. Yeah, that was a rough moment for Colonel Doctor.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Probably one of his one of the lowest moments in
- 35:21Speaker 1: the series for a colonel doctor. Yeah, um, she'd we
- 35:25Speaker 1: learned that she's been planning the wedding for ten years.
- 35:28Speaker 1: She has a giant album of collage and plans, and
- 35:34Speaker 1: you know, I imagine that there are a lot of
- 35:37Speaker 1: people out there who have been planning their weddings since
- 35:40Speaker 1: they were children. Yeah, I'm sure. Um, I don't know
- 35:44Speaker 1: to the extent that Elliott has. She already has the
- 35:47Speaker 1: font in her mind what she wants. Uh, she went
- 35:50Speaker 1: to calligraphy camp to who really gets to know and
- 35:56Speaker 1: when and when Keith gets the font wrong, she she
- 36:00Speaker 1: quickly does the perfect good calligraphy on his chest. Yes,
- 36:04Speaker 1: the janitor has now taken the role of chief of medicine.
- 36:08Speaker 1: He even asked, which was great. He asks everybody in
- 36:11Speaker 1: the hospital, Hey, look, Kelso's gone, which and I can't
- 36:15Speaker 1: freaking do my role playing thing that I do with
- 36:20Speaker 1: Warhammer or something like that, because he bought a real
- 36:22Speaker 1: warhammer to it to session to a DND session. So
- 36:26Speaker 1: he fucked he fucked up the table when he threw
- 36:28Speaker 1: it down on the table, and he's like, I need
- 36:31Speaker 1: to get my pay and they're like, can He's like,
- 36:36Speaker 1: can I play the chief of medicine? And the whole
- 36:38Speaker 1: hospital is like, yeah, go for it. Man. Little do
- 36:41Speaker 1: they know his role playing turns out to be one
- 36:44Speaker 1: of the best things that's ever happened to the hospital. Right.
- 36:47Speaker 1: He's he's somehow figured out a way to get children's
- 36:52Speaker 1: daycare going on there. Yep. Uh. The ultimately Ted's happy
- 36:58Speaker 1: to go to work every morning. Yep, Ted's happy. He
- 37:01Speaker 1: makes Ted facts a whole book. He ultimately brings in
- 37:08Speaker 1: doctor Toilet. Now, let's get to this freaking fantasy. Let's
- 37:12Speaker 1: get to this fantasy about Roger Toilet. The fucking Toilet's
- 37:15Speaker 1: name is Roger. Yes. Now, Roger in this fantasy is
- 37:20Speaker 1: a working doctor at the hospital. Yes, And he's a colleague. Yes.
- 37:25Speaker 1: And I have to have an uncomfortable conversation with him
- 37:29Speaker 1: because even though he's a toilet, he is a working
- 37:32Speaker 1: doctor at the hospital. And I shot him down his throat,
- 37:39Speaker 1: shut down his throat, and it's played totally straight, and
- 37:42Speaker 1: I have an earnest conversation with him. JD shut down
- 37:46Speaker 1: his throat while he was taking a nap too, So no, No,
- 37:51Speaker 1: that's what's fucked up is that's when it starts off
- 37:53Speaker 1: as he was like, you know you say, you say
- 37:57Speaker 1: I didn't know that you were a real toilet. I mean,
- 38:01Speaker 1: I didn't know that you were a doctor. I thought
- 38:02Speaker 1: you were something like that because you were like He
- 38:04Speaker 1: was like, I was taking a nap and you were like, yeah,
- 38:06Speaker 1: but I didn't know because you didn't respond. Made you
- 38:09Speaker 1: sit on top of him, and he's like, you didn't respond.
- 38:12Speaker 1: You didn't think I was responding. I was yelling while
- 38:14Speaker 1: you were taking your number two down my throat and
- 38:17Speaker 1: you go and JD says, oh, I thought that was
- 38:20Speaker 1: me my defense, Roger, I thought those noises were coming
- 38:23Speaker 1: from me. That is some twisted ship, unintended. And then
- 38:29Speaker 1: at the fantasy ends with him taking another nap, he
- 38:35Speaker 1: says to his assistant, hold on my calls, I'm gonna
- 38:38Speaker 1: take any leans back in his chair, and then you
- 38:41Speaker 1: see j D sneaking in with the newspaper. He's like,
- 38:46Speaker 1: there are sixty seven toilets in this hospital. Why don't
- 38:48Speaker 1: you use one that's not an actual doctor? That was
- 38:56Speaker 1: what dude, listen, I'm not just a friend. Oh gosh.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Some of the best, some of the best fantasies just
- 39:03Speaker 1: to break him down, the fact that the toilet somehow
- 39:06Speaker 1: formed consciousness, and then decided he might just love that.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Bill decided that it should all be played totally straight.
- 39:14Speaker 1: It's just as though you're talking to a fellow doctor, right,
- 39:17Speaker 1: and you shit down his throat. Yeah, Mike McDonald again,
- 39:21Speaker 1: the voice of the toilet. Yeah. Um, so Cox, that
- 39:24Speaker 1: was cool? When Cox clever? When when Cox in the
- 39:27Speaker 1: cafeteria with Elliott gets in her head and he says,
- 39:30Speaker 1: you're only with Keith because you want to get married.
- 39:32Speaker 1: You're not with Keith because he's your true, you know,
- 39:35Speaker 1: life partner, you you if And he does this thing
- 39:38Speaker 1: where he eliminates all the options. You know, the men
- 39:41Speaker 1: are to old, the guys who were gay, the the
- 39:43Speaker 1: guys who were creepy. Uh is ted, and Ted tries
- 39:48Speaker 1: to leap to not disappear, and he says about he
- 39:53Speaker 1: says about Mickhead, the guy who just the guy who
- 39:56Speaker 1: beat the murder rap for killing his wife. Yeah, everyone
- 39:59Speaker 1: disappears except Keith. So Cox really gets in her head
- 40:02Speaker 1: and she realizes maybe he's right, Maybe she's just getting
- 40:05Speaker 1: married to get married, and Keith isn't really the one,
- 40:08Speaker 1: He's just a placeholder. Okay. So now, what is this beef?
- 40:13Speaker 1: Because it seems to be going on forever. And there's
- 40:16Speaker 1: another thing that I don't understand because it happens in
- 40:19Speaker 1: this scene. Also, Dude, he calls me Gandhi, he calls
- 40:25Speaker 1: you random girls names. He calls Sarah Barbarbie yeah. He
- 40:31Speaker 1: calls Keith Keith, Yeah about it. He calls Keith Keith.
- 40:38Speaker 1: How does does Keith have more respect? Or you could
- 40:42Speaker 1: look at it the other way that like he gives
- 40:44Speaker 1: so little fox about Keith that he doesn't even have
- 40:47Speaker 1: time to come up with one of his witty nicknames.
- 40:51Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I just remember in camp, you know,
- 40:54Speaker 1: there were like the cool kids got nicknames, and like
- 40:57Speaker 1: I remember me and my friend and so badly wanted
- 40:59Speaker 1: nick names because like all the older cool kids had
- 41:03Speaker 1: nicknames and they gave like me a nickname, and he
- 41:05Speaker 1: didn't get one. And I was like, oh shit, Psyched
- 41:08Speaker 1: have nickname. But I feel bad for my buddy because
- 41:10Speaker 1: he didn't get a nickname. Oh my gosh, musical theater camp. Um,
- 41:19Speaker 1: what was your nickname? I don't even remember. I know
- 41:20Speaker 1: you're gonna ask. It's probably something like Javert. Yeah, brush
- 41:31Speaker 1: Kim is pregnant. How fucked up is this? I mean,
- 41:33Speaker 1: let's just play this is be real about it. If
- 41:35Speaker 1: this happened in real life, this is the most fucked
- 41:37Speaker 1: up thing in the world. Oh dude, Yeah, look man,
- 41:43Speaker 1: so this is what happens. I can't stop thinking about Pippin.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Pipp Who is he playing? Pippin? That was your nickname?
- 42:02Speaker 1: All right, I'm done? All right? What shows you in?
- 42:11Speaker 1: All right? So what are your thoughts on Kim lying
- 42:13Speaker 1: about carrying my child? Fucked up? Dude, that's fucked up.
- 42:16Speaker 1: And it happens, you know what I mean. It happens
- 42:18Speaker 1: all the time. Uh, and you know, really it happens.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I mean, I know it happens. But that's so fucked up. Yeah,
- 42:25Speaker 1: you know it is fucked up. But you know, I mean,
- 42:27Speaker 1: especially especially in a world where this guy would have
- 42:32Speaker 1: been a good father who showed up. Whoa, it's not
- 42:36Speaker 1: it would have been someone who would have been a
- 42:37Speaker 1: bad influence or would have been a bad father. This
- 42:40Speaker 1: is a guy who, with all his flaws, would have
- 42:43Speaker 1: showed up and provided financial help and would have been
- 42:46Speaker 1: an amazing daddy even if they weren't together. But it
- 42:49Speaker 1: would have been a good relationship too, because even when
- 42:51Speaker 1: they when they broke up, they didn't break up because
- 42:53Speaker 1: of because of not getting along. They broke up because
- 42:56Speaker 1: she took a job far away, you know what I mean.
- 42:59Speaker 1: I know, but it's really fucked up. I mean, like
- 43:01Speaker 1: just I'm just saying, outside the world of a comedic
- 43:03Speaker 1: television show, I just find it really fucked up that
- 43:05Speaker 1: someone would do that. It happens, well, I'm sure it
- 43:10Speaker 1: does happen, but that's that's tragic. And I was. I
- 43:12Speaker 1: was sad for j D because even though you know
- 43:15Speaker 1: Kim might not have been the one for him, ultimately,
- 43:18Speaker 1: you know that you can tell that JD's going to
- 43:21Speaker 1: be an awesome dad and and he was genuinely shocked,
- 43:26Speaker 1: as we all would be. Yeah, I was. I remember
- 43:30Speaker 1: when we shot that and I hadn't read the script
- 43:32Speaker 1: and she stepped out with a pregnant belly, and I
- 43:34Speaker 1: was like, oh shit, she's pregnant. Still, Donald, I'll found
- 43:38Speaker 1: out along with the audience. He had no idea. Well, no,
- 43:41Speaker 1: I found out when we were shooting, so a little
- 43:43Speaker 1: bit of earlier than yeah, But that was funny. Remember
- 43:47Speaker 1: when we're air groping or air grope, I go her
- 43:49Speaker 1: boobs look bigger, right, and yeah, I go hold on,
- 43:52Speaker 1: let me check. And I'm like the line up the
- 43:54Speaker 1: camera with my hands and I'm like, yeah, they're bigger,
- 43:56Speaker 1: and you got you join in. You're like, well you
- 43:58Speaker 1: tell me I could do it. And I look at
- 44:01Speaker 1: you like okay, because I didn't want an air grope
- 44:05Speaker 1: unless I got the okay, Yeah, I gave you. I
- 44:07Speaker 1: gave you permission. I didn't have the airgro um. They
- 44:12Speaker 1: don't have Apple teenis at the bar, but they have
- 44:14Speaker 1: peach teenies and I say that that's a little foofy
- 44:17Speaker 1: for my taste. Yeah, they've cost a line peaches too
- 44:21Speaker 1: much peach. I feel like peach usually that's the good drink,
- 44:27Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like just any peach to
- 44:32Speaker 1: drink though, right, like when it like peach iced tea
- 44:36Speaker 1: that snapples peachy. I used to drink that. It's probably
- 44:40Speaker 1: four thousand calories, but leased to drink that was tasty
- 44:46Speaker 1: peach snapple iced tea. Yeah, not giving it a shout out.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Not giving it a shout out because it's probably a
- 44:52Speaker 1: cup of sugar. We'll find out right now, dawn, how
- 44:56Speaker 1: much sugar is in a standard old school bottle of
- 44:59Speaker 1: peach Snapple iced tea. Snap Snapple peach tea has forty grams,
- 45:05Speaker 1: which is seventy nine percent of your daily intake. And
- 45:08Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. It's forty total sugars and forty
- 45:11Speaker 1: grams of added sugars. And those are the ones that
- 45:13Speaker 1: will really get it. It's not. Now, what's the coke?
- 45:15Speaker 1: What's a real what's a regular coke? Can of coke?
- 45:18Speaker 1: Nutrition facts? It's like thirty nine sugars and then it's like,
- 45:22Speaker 1: but it's like thirty seven percent ad grams of sugar. Uh,
- 45:26Speaker 1: there's no international value at all in coke. It's just sugar.
- 45:29Speaker 1: It is thirty nine grams, so less one less one
- 45:33Speaker 1: gram less than a can of coke. And then how
- 45:35Speaker 1: much of it is added? There's no added, there's nothing.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Coke isn't real. At least peach iced tea has no
- 45:42Speaker 1: I've read the back of a coke recently because I
- 45:44Speaker 1: love Coca cola. Listen, it's my favorite drink. And do
- 45:47Speaker 1: you drink real Coke's drink a little too much of it.
- 45:50Speaker 1: It's thirty yeah, well a twelve ounce a twelve ounce
- 45:52Speaker 1: can of coke is thirty nine grams of added sugars
- 45:54Speaker 1: and a and a. How big is this? This is
- 45:58Speaker 1: o sixteen ounce of sneap snap sneeple Snapple. Pha's tea
- 46:04Speaker 1: has forty grams. So like, I used to drink that
- 46:06Speaker 1: ship when I was a kid. Love it? I do. Listen,
- 46:08Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie to you. I love Coca Cola.
- 46:10Speaker 1: That's one that is my only Uh, It's just such
- 46:14Speaker 1: a waste of calories. It's a stupid yeah, but it's
- 46:16Speaker 1: only like I don't drink a lot of booze anymore.
- 46:18Speaker 1: I don't drink a lot of anything anymore. The one
- 46:20Speaker 1: thing I do enjoy is Coca Cola, but it will
- 46:22Speaker 1: be the death of you if you drink it every day.
- 46:24Speaker 1: That is, everybody likes a little ass flay, don't that's
- 46:26Speaker 1: another thing that you like. So um, back to the show.
- 46:29Speaker 1: It's not just me. Everybody likes it. Everybody likes a
- 46:31Speaker 1: little ass plate dude. Okay, listen, plus to move. You
- 46:35Speaker 1: have a problem. So we're almost to the end. Um.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Jordan is the one who finally told Cox to cut
- 46:40Speaker 1: it out and be nice to Elliott, and that makes
- 46:45Speaker 1: Cox come round and say, I can't believe I can
- 46:48Speaker 1: still get in your head like this, um, but he
- 46:51Speaker 1: loves the fact that he could still do it. Yes,
- 46:54Speaker 1: but pretty much tells her you know, you know her
- 46:57Speaker 1: him telling her that that Jordan put him up to it.
- 47:02Speaker 1: He doesn't tell her, yeah he does. He lies. He says,
- 47:06Speaker 1: Jordan told me to do this right before he No,
- 47:08Speaker 1: it's a flashback. He goes, He goes, She goes, why
- 47:11Speaker 1: are you telling you this? And we flashed to Jordan
- 47:14Speaker 1: being like, stop fucking fucking. She calls her stick stop
- 47:17Speaker 1: fucking with sticks and stop messing with sticks and that,
- 47:21Speaker 1: and then we cut back and he goes, and I
- 47:23Speaker 1: totally did this on my own volition in so many words,
- 47:26Speaker 1: got it, I'm about to say, because if he would
- 47:28Speaker 1: have said that, that would have totally sabotaged the situation,
- 47:31Speaker 1: which he already did. He's already put the doubt. Once
- 47:34Speaker 1: the doubt sets in, dude, it's a rap. That's how
- 47:37Speaker 1: it goes. Well, he fucked with her, and then so
- 47:39Speaker 1: I walk in and she goes, JD, do you think
- 47:42Speaker 1: I'm making a mistake? Marying Keith? And before I can answer,
- 47:45Speaker 1: Kim shows up and she's like, Jdi, why did you leave?
- 47:49Speaker 1: And there we have the classic love triangle done done Dune.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I can that that sound effect him? Well, let me
- 47:59Speaker 1: ask let me ask you a question. Go ahead. So
- 48:03Speaker 1: the practical thing is to get with Kim. Obviously the
- 48:07Speaker 1: right thing. I don't know, how do you probably put
- 48:09Speaker 1: this without sounding like, so your heart is your heart
- 48:13Speaker 1: would be like, I want to be with Elliott. Yeah,
- 48:16Speaker 1: the right thing to do is to be with Kim.
- 48:19Speaker 1: I think that's right. I think that term right is
- 48:22Speaker 1: not that it's wrong. It's the wrong term. I don't
- 48:24Speaker 1: think it's right because she's done one of the biggest
- 48:27Speaker 1: betrayals Jad's probably will ever have in his entire life.
- 48:30Speaker 1: She can't be trusted, she's she's she does something that's
- 48:34Speaker 1: I think fucking sociopathic. And um. And also we know
- 48:40Speaker 1: spoilers that he's truly in love with Elliott. She's the one.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Well we don't know that yet, We don't know that now,
- 48:47Speaker 1: but he's wrestling with it, and we we the audience
- 48:50Speaker 1: at this point in the show don't know it, but
- 48:51Speaker 1: we but we know in hindsight. Um, And so I
- 48:55Speaker 1: think that it's not I think you can't make decisions
- 48:58Speaker 1: based on you know, life is so short. You have
- 49:02Speaker 1: to make choices that are you know, responsible choices, but
- 49:05Speaker 1: also choices that are you don't marry someone. Um, well,
- 49:11Speaker 1: there's not in love with there's a moral, there's a moral.
- 49:15Speaker 1: There's a more obligation to take care of the child
- 49:17Speaker 1: now that he knows it's his, of course, which I
- 49:19Speaker 1: think we all know JD will do. There's a moral
- 49:23Speaker 1: obligation to be in the child's life, which I'm sure
- 49:25Speaker 1: we all know JD will do. But to now say, oh,
- 49:29Speaker 1: I'm going to marry you out of obligation, I think
- 49:31Speaker 1: is wrong and he feels betrayed by her. I want
- 49:36Speaker 1: to give you a couple Yeah, I agree with you.
- 49:38Speaker 1: A couple of scrubs wicky things. The guest is we
- 49:40Speaker 1: have a guest here, but scrubs Wicki things. Elliot says
- 49:43Speaker 1: she wanted flourished Italic as the lettering on the wedding invitations.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Yet the letterings she tells Keith that it should look
- 49:49Speaker 1: like is copperplate. Oh boy, that's the level of detail
- 49:54Speaker 1: and scrubs wicky. This week nobody cares Trevor. Trevor went deep.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Elliot says that she was there the church for the
- 50:00Speaker 1: third weekend in July ever since she was nineteen. But
- 50:03Speaker 1: in season three episode My Journey, she says that she
- 50:06Speaker 1: booked her wedding for April twenty fifth, two thousand and six.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Nobody cares sever and here you go. This is when
- 50:13Speaker 1: you'll like. The original air date of this episode was
- 50:17Speaker 1: May tenth, two thousand and seven. Coincidentally, Donald drum Roll
- 50:22Speaker 1: Daniel Timpany, May tenth is the real young MC's birthday. Wow. Wow, Wow,
- 50:32Speaker 1: it was all planned. We had we were we were
- 50:34Speaker 1: trying to give him the dopeest birthday present ever. Yeah, yeah,
- 50:37Speaker 1: and he didn't want it. All right. Should we take
- 50:41Speaker 1: a breakdown and we'll come back with a guest. All right,
- 50:43Speaker 1: we's gonna break here and we're come back with a
- 50:44Speaker 1: really fun guest. I have no idea who it is.
- 50:46Speaker 1: We'll be right back. We'll be back, we'll tank forever.
- 50:56Speaker 1: We're back, all right, Daniel, you're in charge of the guests. Yes,
- 51:00Speaker 1: do you know what's happening? No? Okay, great, Joel gave
- 51:04Speaker 1: us a guest and then couldn't be here. But there.
- 51:07Speaker 1: You have no idea who this is. Indeed, Joel's taking
- 51:10Speaker 1: a lot of days off. Yea, I know. Well, one
- 51:12Speaker 1: time she had COVID. Now I think she's just she's
- 51:15Speaker 1: going and doing that New Girl. Okay, Oh is she
- 51:18Speaker 1: now girling? No, I'll be so betrayed. Nope, that's later today.
- 51:22Speaker 1: Oh my god, are you on the New Girl podcast too?
- 51:25Speaker 1: I am? Do you talk on it? No, I'm wanting
- 51:29Speaker 1: just for us. They don't care about my voice. Just
- 51:32Speaker 1: Joell talk on it. We both asked the same question
- 51:35Speaker 1: the only the only time they ever throwed it as
- 51:37Speaker 1: as if they have a specific question about something that's
- 51:39Speaker 1: happening in the script or whatever. They played this game
- 51:40Speaker 1: called True American, and sometimes they're like, wait, what are
- 51:42Speaker 1: we doing here? That's about it? And then are you
- 51:45Speaker 1: guys on the podcast talking? No? I mean, like very
- 51:48Speaker 1: occasionally if something needs to be clarified and I deem
- 51:51Speaker 1: that that clarification is worth putting into the edit. But
- 51:54Speaker 1: other than that, Now, Daniel, every time you talk on
- 51:56Speaker 1: that podcast, I die a little inside. I'll adjust my voice,
- 52:01Speaker 1: so it's not easy. I was gonna tell Siegel he
- 52:03Speaker 1: should do a How I Met Your Mother? Podcast? Are
- 52:06Speaker 1: they not? I don't know if anyone is, but I
- 52:09Speaker 1: don't think Jason's involved. But until I'm seeing him for
- 52:12Speaker 1: the last time tonight on doing the show, I should
- 52:15Speaker 1: mention it, enjoy it. Who would he do it with?
- 52:18Speaker 1: Though him and Neil past I'm great with him and
- 52:20Speaker 1: Neil Patrick arisby a great show. I mean I don't
- 52:22Speaker 1: know the show that well, but I'm sure the fans
- 52:23Speaker 1: would love it. That would be really amazing it all right,
- 52:26Speaker 1: y'a already yes, bringing the call play the song in.
- 52:28Speaker 1: We got a call game. You can talk star show dudes,
- 52:34Speaker 1: you know, like a Bota spoke maybe talking about the episode.
- 52:41Speaker 1: So come on, let's get the ladies and gentlemen. Give
- 52:48Speaker 1: it up for Josh funny Man. Can you hear me? Yes, Josh,
- 52:54Speaker 1: we can hear you. Get loud with play awesome. Hi,
- 52:58Speaker 1: Josh funny Man, Oh my god, what's going on? I'm
- 53:04Speaker 1: very wonderful. Oh my god. It's actually a fun of them.
- 53:08Speaker 1: But that's fine. I would you stand up. People think
- 53:13Speaker 1: it's a terrible stage name. I came up with a
- 53:16Speaker 1: terrible real name. Welcome to the podcast. We're very excited
- 53:19Speaker 1: to have you. Usually we we we make some assumptions
- 53:22Speaker 1: on who the guest is by what's on their walls.
- 53:25Speaker 1: I can only see that you might like Red wine well,
- 53:29Speaker 1: or or or it's hot because the fan is yeah,
- 53:35Speaker 1: it's hot. Where are you calling from, Josh, I'm called
- 53:39Speaker 1: from to Topless, Illinois. And if you haven't heard of it,
- 53:42Speaker 1: that's fine. No one has um okay, and you're a
- 53:46Speaker 1: stand up comedian by profession. Uh, I wish it didn't
- 53:50Speaker 1: quite pay the bills yet. So I work in a factory.
- 53:53Speaker 1: What do you yeah, what kind of red law? Mister biscuits? Donald?
- 54:01Speaker 1: Have you been to the red lobster in a while?
- 54:02Speaker 1: I haven't been red lobster in a while, but I
- 54:04Speaker 1: do know them biscuits are good or red lobster. So
- 54:06Speaker 1: you make the biscuits for all the red lobsters across
- 54:09Speaker 1: the world, the frozen ones that you can buy it
- 54:13Speaker 1: like Walmart? Oh? Okay? Nice? And do you like them?
- 54:17Speaker 1: Do you eat them yourself? Oh? You know they're fine?
- 54:21Speaker 1: Did you get you get used to us? Speaking of
- 54:24Speaker 1: speaking of Walmart, have you ever had Patty Labelle's Sweet
- 54:27Speaker 1: Data Party? Not no, but my sister used to love
- 54:31Speaker 1: that video of that guy being like Patty, Patty, Patty?
- 54:35Speaker 1: Do you remember that video? Yeah? What did you what
- 54:37Speaker 1: did you? What did you seal? This week? Gorilla glue
- 54:39Speaker 1: or something. Why did it end this way? Yeah, my
- 54:45Speaker 1: sister rest in Piece used to used to always play
- 54:48Speaker 1: that video of that guy going patty. This wasn't how
- 54:52Speaker 1: it was supposed to be. Dan, do you remember that
- 54:55Speaker 1: video I'm talking about vaguely? It was a viral video
- 54:58Speaker 1: of a guy really love patties pies from home. So
- 55:01Speaker 1: he sold her pies. Actually he sold it out. Yeah,
- 55:04Speaker 1: he made it so that everybody went and bought those pies. Well,
- 55:07Speaker 1: he was so funny, and that's how that was the
- 55:09Speaker 1: best way to sell those damn pies. All right, So
- 55:12Speaker 1: Josh even question for us. Welcome to the pot, Josh.
- 55:14Speaker 1: If you might get a you might get a super
- 55:16Speaker 1: duper raise if you funny on this and set them
- 55:19Speaker 1: them biscuits. Oh man, that's a lot of pressure. But
- 55:26Speaker 1: the biscuits for now, don't worry about Red Lobster. They're
- 55:28Speaker 1: doing fine. By the way, there was this there was
- 55:30Speaker 1: this uh chain I saw on the interwebs of I
- 55:34Speaker 1: think it's probably started on Twitter where someone said if
- 55:36Speaker 1: you work at any corporate you know, franchise, he kind
- 55:39Speaker 1: of place or what's a secret that that that they
- 55:42Speaker 1: definitely don't want out? And then people were spilling all
- 55:46Speaker 1: these secrets, like when the shake machine is down to McDonald's.
- 55:49Speaker 1: It's not down, it's because like we're overwhelmed would work
- 55:52Speaker 1: and we can't deal with the shake machine right now,
- 55:54Speaker 1: or some shit like people were telling all these stories
- 55:56Speaker 1: like the gravy, it's this chain is just the fucking
- 56:00Speaker 1: old used fat from the fry machine mixed with powder,
- 56:03Speaker 1: like all these secrets. The donuts, donuts are frozen. I
- 56:07Speaker 1: learned that one all start spelled when they stopped paying
- 56:10Speaker 1: the bills. I'm not asking you, I hear that all
- 56:15Speaker 1: right ahead, Josh, what's your question? Oh yeah, oh real quick,
- 56:18Speaker 1: I do will show you. The reason uh Joel picked me,
- 56:23Speaker 1: I think is because I've gotten myself all rowdy. Oh wow,
- 56:28Speaker 1: he's holding up a stuffed not a taxiderman one. Everyone
- 56:32Speaker 1: he's but he has a very life sized stuff to
- 56:34Speaker 1: Colton retriever. That was a gift for my sister and
- 56:37Speaker 1: I also owned a Venice Blue for me n CC
- 56:40Speaker 1: scooter with the plates saying Sasha, Wow, you're a true fan.
- 56:45Speaker 1: He yeah, I love it. I posted I posted a
- 56:49Speaker 1: picture on facebo This is like a ten year old picture.
- 56:51Speaker 1: I posted it on your Facebook which if you don't run,
- 56:54Speaker 1: they'll tell me. But you commented a maze balls and
- 56:56Speaker 1: it like made my life. Well that's Zax, that's Zack's terms,
- 57:00Speaker 1: so he definitely was it a long time ago ago.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, good, because I I don't want you to
- 57:05Speaker 1: be misled. I haven't been on Facebook and probably but
- 57:08Speaker 1: um but um but dude, that's so cool. You're probably
- 57:11Speaker 1: the only person with a with a real mock up
- 57:14Speaker 1: of Sasha I would imagine on Earth. Oh they sold him. Yeah,
- 57:20Speaker 1: well Zach took it back. But I had a scooter once. Yeah,
- 57:24Speaker 1: I gave him a scooter. It had a big birthday.
- 57:27Speaker 1: It was awesome. He never wrote it. I wrote it
- 57:30Speaker 1: like twice. But it was a gray scooter. I called
- 57:34Speaker 1: it Sasha Gray. I like that. It was so clever.
- 57:37Speaker 1: And my feelings are really hurt because I gave him
- 57:40Speaker 1: a fucking really dope scooter and he didn't ride it.
- 57:45Speaker 1: I just feared from my life. I had just had understand.
- 57:47Speaker 1: My wife was like, my wife is a bad gift.
- 57:49Speaker 1: You can't give someone a gift that makes sense. Well,
- 57:51Speaker 1: that's fair. I rolled Sasha, so that's the thing that happens.
- 57:55Speaker 1: My wife was like there's no way you're riding that
- 57:57Speaker 1: in this canyon. I was like, what are you talking about.
- 57:59Speaker 1: She's like, there's away. She wasn't my wife yet, but
- 58:01Speaker 1: we were. No, she was my wife. She was about
- 58:03Speaker 1: to have the baby. Well that's fair. I guess it
- 58:06Speaker 1: was a dumb gift. When I look in, it's not
- 58:08Speaker 1: a dumb gift motorcycle because it's it's a it's a
- 58:13Speaker 1: choice about whether. I already sold it. Remember I reclaimed it.
- 58:17Speaker 1: I was like, if you're not gonna ride it rot,
- 58:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna sell it. I remember you did do that.
- 58:22Speaker 1: You took it back and sold it. Well, I mean,
- 58:25Speaker 1: it wasn't worth nothing, and you were just letting it
- 58:27Speaker 1: and let it rot. I was like, it was an
- 58:28Speaker 1: electric scooter. Two, it was an elect Yeah it was.
- 58:31Speaker 1: It didn't take gas. You got it at that electric
- 58:34Speaker 1: scooter spot, but you had to still get a license. Yeah,
- 58:36Speaker 1: I remember the spot on is where you got it from, right.
- 58:41Speaker 1: I got it at the Vespa store. Um, but it
- 58:45Speaker 1: was a different brand than Vespa, and it most certainly
- 58:47Speaker 1: was not electric. Okay, trust me. I drove it before
- 58:53Speaker 1: I sold it. I drove it around a little bit.
- 58:54Speaker 1: How long did you driving around for how many times? Well,
- 58:57Speaker 1: I have a real motorcycle, so I drove it like twice.
- 58:59Speaker 1: It was like cute. So what were you gonna do?
- 59:02Speaker 1: Were you gonna call me up and be like, Yo, dude,
- 59:04Speaker 1: come over, let's go ride, And I'm gonna ride next
- 59:06Speaker 1: to your a fucking hug and I'm sitting on my
- 59:08Speaker 1: freaking I just thought this is when you lived in
- 59:11Speaker 1: and I thought you might like to go run an
- 59:14Speaker 1: errand down to the country store on and I just
- 59:16Speaker 1: thought it might be fun. But no, it wasn't. We
- 59:20Speaker 1: are fun. I had. I had a scooter in college.
- 59:22Speaker 1: I loved it. I thought I was so cool. Um,
- 59:26Speaker 1: all right, you girls, did you take out on dates
- 59:27Speaker 1: when that's scooter? Um, it's funny. It was handed down
- 59:31Speaker 1: to me by by somebody who graduated. And it was
- 59:33Speaker 1: so loud, I learned later incredibly um um dangerous because
- 59:39Speaker 1: the reason it was loud was like it was on
- 59:41Speaker 1: the verge of locking up. It was like and I'm
- 59:45Speaker 1: stupidly flooring it all around and it was so loud.
- 59:50Speaker 1: I don't think I ever. I only had one home,
- 59:54Speaker 1: I think, so I don't think I drove anybody anyway.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Go ahead, Josh, what's a question for us? Yeah, I
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: I think it was like after you guys moved to ABC,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: they started showing like a gag reel as the credits rolled,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: And I remember one specifically where Zach was improving different
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: things he would do with a taxidermid Turk and uh,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: and you could just hear Bill on the background and yelling,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: come on now, you know I can't use that. So
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: I was wondering if you guys remembered any bits or
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: jokes that either that got cut for whatever reason that
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: you let you really like, oh hundreds, I mean just
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: because we would. You know, Donald, you can hear from
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: listening to the podcast, we can go already unfortunately too fast,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: And so we would do it to make each other
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: laugh and to make the crew laughs and make Bill laugh.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: But then he'd be like, dude, they're not going to
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: put out on ABC. Right. The most famous one, though,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: the most famous one is Todd always was in his
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: banana hammock. Right. Yeah, we moved from NBC to ABC,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: we can no longer show them. They deemed it too
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: much cock and uh, they would not show and I
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: think I think the old episodes they ended up cropping in. Yeah,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: and they cropped in the images like what it's it's
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: and I get it because it is a bulge and
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: it's rob I mean, I think it's safe to say
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: that he's well endowed. And it was a lot. It
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: was a lot for a family audience. By the way,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: you bring up a good point, Josh. For those of
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: you who who listen and love this podcast, you should.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: You should go on YouTube where they have all the
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: gag reels from every uh gag reels or blooper reels,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it. Um, they have them
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: from each season, and uh, they're very funny. I think
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: you'll laugh a lot at them. They were on the
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: DVDs back when people bought DVDs. Um, but if you
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: never bought the DVDs, you probably wouldn't have ever seen them.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: And they're they're really funny and they're all on YouTube.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Do you have another question? Yeah, I was just wonder
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: if you guys could talk a little bit, because, like,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I know, you guys are really tight with Bill, But
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: at the end of the day, he's captaining the ship,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: so he's still the boss. So what's the uh, what's
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: hard to the friendship? He's my friend, he's my buddy,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: he's my boss. That was hard when we were filming.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: When we were filming the show. For me, it was
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: very difficult because Bill is very competitive too, you know
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: what I mean. And when I say competitive, he's a
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: he's he's alpha, you know what I mean. And he
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: and he hired a bunch of alpha's which was which
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: is nuts, but and so and then he would invite
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: us all to like compete against each other in basketball
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: or whatever it is. And you know, you say things,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: and you know, and sometimes when basketball comes to the
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: comes to you know, it comes to work and you're
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: playing at lunch and stuff like that. And it was
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: real hard to hang out with this dude and compete
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: against him knowing that he's also my boss. You know. Yeah,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: at it now, Granted, Build is the person that's like, YO,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: give me your best and if you beat me, you
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: beat me, so be it. He's not the person that's,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: you know, you beat me and now you're fired. It
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: would be very difficult. It's very difficult to muster the
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: courage to say to your boss, get that shot out
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: of here. You know. Well, I never had that problem
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: because I didn't play basketball, which is which is something
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: that Bill takes a lot of pride. And when I
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: played him ping pong once, he said, would you mind
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: if I played left handed? This isn't any fun for me. Um.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: So that's Bill. But I have to say, you know,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: I always felt like there was work mode Bill, and
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: then there was friend mode Bill. You know, at work
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: he was clearly the boss, and and whether I was
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: directing or acting, you know, you yielded to him because
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: this was his baby and he's fucking really good at it,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: and um, and then there was hanging out being his friend,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: and then you know, it was like a different environment.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: You know, it was like, you know, then he was
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: just a buddy. Right now, as now, as as I've
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: grown to know him, I have no problem being who
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: I naturally amy around him. But for a long time
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: it was like, I know, I know, at work, I'm
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: supposed to respect you, And outside of work, am I
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: supposed to respect you too? You know? I think also
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: one thing I was keenly aware of was that he
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: had a vested interest in not in our egos not
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: getting out of control when the show became popular, because
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: he didn't want us to become difficult, you know, divas,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: and so he always kind of especially the beginning, definitely
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: like kept us in our place, and he would occasionally
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: do things that we're taking taking our egos down a peg.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: And I didn't really notice that until till later, but
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: he didn't, you know. He he kind of strategically made
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: sure our heads didn't get too big, which is which
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: is good, which is like an older brother kind of figured,
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: you know, but he would Yeah, yeah, he definitely protected
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: us from ruin ourselves, you know what I mean, Like sincerely,
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Uh he once said to me, like I remember, he
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: was like he was like fifty percent joking, but he
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: was like, you can always find a new intern. But
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: he was always good at that, you know what I mean.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Like if if it seemed like nobody ever got out
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: of hand, and we did nine seasons of a show, everybody,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: everybody had a moment of real popularity, not bullshit popularity,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: real popularity, and he kept the show going for nine seasons.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: So it's a it really is a testament to well
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: of a coach he is too, you know what I mean,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: he's not just the owner. He's a great coach. Yeah,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: he's like, um, well, he's like Jerry Buss. That's a
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: great analogy. Thank you, thank you. I prep for you've
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: been watching Winning time for all right, it's time for
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: um Illinois. Yeah yeah, titt titt titt titty watch what's

- 1:07:30Speaker 1: there's a young Daniel Stern. Yeah, young Daniel Stern. Did
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: you ever see a movie called Blue Thunder? Uh? You
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: know who else? Is a little ham Roy Scheider And
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: that's how you said. He also looks like a young
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: Biff from Tanner, Yes, from Back to the Future. What's
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: the what's the other gen young Gary Busey? What's Jake Busey? Yeah? Yeah, Jake.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: But like you have personality like that, you know what?
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: I have a lot of personnel. And were the class
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Were you the class clown in high school? Oh? For sure?
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I didn't stop talking from the classes. Yeah that's a
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: good sign. I was you. Yeah, you seem like you
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: seem like somebody who would be good in entertainment. So
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: he's gonna start my next project, my next pro. I
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: didn't say he's gonna start in the shit. I said
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: give him a line, and give him a line in
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: one right again, if we can find out if you
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: get picked up again for your enemy. It's a while, dude,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: it's they can hold me for something like nine months. Okay, Well,
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: if you get picked up again, maybe he could be
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: a white person in that you know what, We're gonna
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: need him. Yeah, I'm an audition too, but he he
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: might beat me out. Yeah, it's gonna be tight. How
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: about does neither one of you have to audition? Very well? See,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: I'll take that. That's how I do it. See, that's
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: how I do it. Dave Felony, Oh shade, All right,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: come on, Josh, how do we fix your life? Oh? Okay? So,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: like I said, I'm a performer, but it's not paying
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: the bills yet. So I've got a day job. And
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: on top of that, I got married last April. So
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: I wonder if you guys had any advice on how
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: to manage making a living, chasing my dreams and maintaining
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: my relationship. Wow. Wow, well, okay, got the one marriage part.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: You gotta work obviously, so I think you got a
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: good job. I imagine you have benefits from his jobs,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: so you don't want to fuck any of that up. Um,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: you got to find those hours where you're not working,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: and you need to perform as much as when you're
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: not being a husband also, so you need to well,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: maybe she can come to I'll bet his wife loves
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: to watch him do stand up. I mean, if I
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: were you and you're starting as a stand up, you
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: just gotta you gotta get those ten thousand hours and
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: just get better, get better as better. I don't know
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: what the time is. I've seen you got like you
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: need your solid fucking five minutes and then you need
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: your fucking solid ten minutes. And yeah, you'll see you'll notice,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: you know from the last that you're getting better and better,
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: and the crowds are and you're getting booked a bigger
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: and bigger spots. But no matter where you are, or
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: you might have to drive a little bit, but you
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: just gotta keep you gotta keep developing and working. It's
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: it's directly correlates the amount of work you put into it. Now.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: I know you have a nine to five, nine to
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: five I imagine job, So you got to find the time.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: And maybe, I mean Donald can speak to this because
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: he's married. But you know, maybe there's a way if
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: it's traveling a bit, that your wife can come with
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: you and and and she can you know, uh, come
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: to some of your not yet Yeah, well that's going
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: to throw a wrenching things. So maybe don't have a
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: kid right away, right, Yeah, maybe go out if you're
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: especially if you're trying to pursue your dreams or your objectives.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: Uh uh, get out there and get out there. That's
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: the that's the honest to goodness advice you got. I mean,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: a kid is gonna make it harder in two ways.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: One you won't be able to travel as easily and
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: and be uh the financial burden that that'll put on you.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: So you should strategize and obviously plan it out with
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: your wife when you might have a kid and stuff.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: But since you don't have one yet, you have a
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: you have a certainly have a leg up on someone
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: who has your aspirations and does have a child. You know,
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: you can, you guys can go on the road, right
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: you could. You could leave at Friday night after work
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: and and and you know, get booked and do shows
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: and be back for a Monday morning. You know. Yeah,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: you gotta always be writing always. Bet you could be
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: writing at work. Man. You can have a no pad,
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: you have a notepad next to you at where at
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: your job at your station wherever you are, and you
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: know you're sitting there all day. Funny ideas are going
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: to come to you right now, and make sure you don't.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: Make sure you're diligent with writing a shit down. Don't
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: be the guy who goes, oh, I'll write that down
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: later and you forget. That's the thing, that's that's the thing.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: A lot of people don't understand this. When you become
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: a stand up comic, you're not only becoming somebody who
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: stands up on stage and tells jokes. You're also becoming
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: a writer, somebody who has to sit down and write stuff,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: you know what I mean, and develop, And that's the
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: that's part of it, you know what I mean, developed, developed, developed.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: You got to get on stage also and get your
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: reps in. That's the only way this works. It does.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: There's no I don't know of any stand up comic
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: who straight out the gate was the number one stand
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: up comic and got the sitcom you know what I mean,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know the person that did that.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: You know. The other thing to do is write, You
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: write your story. You know, you have a very unique story.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: That's only you can tell Okay, you you you've got
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: things that that will make it relatable to everybody, but you,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: No one can write the story about your life in
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: your town, working at at your factory, um, and your
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: friends and your wife. So consider what's the half hour
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: comedy version of that that you'd love to watch and
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: all your friends would love to watch? Like, what's maybe
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: plan out what that would be like if you did
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: get a hook up and al you as we might
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: say in the basketball loving world, Um, what would your
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: you know, what would your pitch be if someone was like, hey, man,
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: what's your what's your half hour sitcom or a single
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: camera comedy show? It's fucking locked and loaded, and you
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: pitch it and you're ready. So that's what you need
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: to do, is like, is you know while you're working.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: I think you could. That's another thing you can do
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: is simultaneously be you know, planning all that out. I
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: think we did it. You're welcome, Josh, You're welcome. You're welcome,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: and hey, my only request is when you make it big,
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: that you hire us. Done. Okay, you joke around, but
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: I got friends that made it big and the producing
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: big time movies. They don't call me no more right, exactly.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: I slept on my couch. I gave a home too.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: You think I'm joking. They don't remember. I remember people
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: saying things like I just want I would love to.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: I wouldn't even see a name, but an actor who
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: was like I just I just want to, you know,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: have a fraction of what's happened to you. Um, like
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: making my own movies. I mean, I don't think I'll
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: ever have a movie like Garden State, but but I
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: would love to just you know, be doing what you're doing.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: That guy is super mega successful and famous. Right now,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: has he hired you? No? Yeah, yeah, exactly, So that
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: it works, that's how it works. I'll hire I will
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: hire you. Doctor. We're available, we're sagged, we're after. I
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: got everything, all right, brother, thanks for coming on the show,

- 1:14:49Speaker 1: drop as she went to go work on New Girls? Right,
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: she knows that, you know, that's where she is right now.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: She's working on something. He's just cheating on us with
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: New Girl because not New Girls, our own podcast. He's like,
