- 0:28artistic individuals. I want you to be there by my
- 0:30side helping me bring this to fruition.
- 0:32It's going to be amazing. You guys are awesome.
- 0:34Let's get us stuck in right now, Guys, Aspergers and girls.
- 0:38Aspergers is a term that we don't really use anymore.
- 0:40We use kind of like lower support needs autism spectrum
- 0:42disorder. It's a bit of a long winded way
- 0:44of saying it, but the reasons for this.
- 0:46However, we're here to talk about the role of therapy in
- 0:49helping autism, right? So The thing is, you can't cure
- 0:52autism. Autism is a incurable
- 0:54neurological developmental condition, but you can treat
- 0:57symptomatic issues of autism right?
- 0:59So one of the things I would say is therapy is the best way to do
- 1:02this. I do take medication and I have
- 1:04therapy now. I've had all kinds of therapy
- 1:07from in person counseling to digital counseling over my using
- 1:10my iPhone with an app called Better Help, which FYI guys, I
- 1:14actually recommend. So if you are interested in
- 1:16checking out using an app to you know as your therapist you can
- 1:20talk on video or voice call or you can just text them better
- 1:24help is amazing because within 24 to 48 hours they hooked me up
- 1:26with a specialist in autism and ADHD because you put new
- 1:29credentials. It's absolutely amazing and I
- 1:31did from the comfort of my own home.
- 1:32I was actually sat in bed at one point so it's amazing.
- 1:34I definitely recommend it. So check them out below.
- 1:36However, I've done all types of stuff occupational therapy all
- 1:39down to like intensive kind of like counseling.
- 1:41What I would say is that therapy is the quickest way for self
- 1:45realization and self knowingness, and when you have a
- 1:48therapist that works on things that are specific to you as a
- 1:52person, nothing compounds to it. You can take a medication which
- 1:55will take off some kind of issues and maybe take the edge
- 1:58off certain things like anxiety and depression and stuff like
- 2:01that. But when you say I have a
- 2:02problem in this area of my life, I need, you know, specific help
- 2:06in this one area. And a therapist says, hey, I can
- 2:09help you in that one area. You win every time.
- 2:11It's kind of like the golden ticket to realizing that one
- 2:14thing. So I actually work one-on-one
- 2:16with a lot of clients. I do coaching, so I coach people
- 2:19who, you know, so say you wanted to reach out to me now and know
- 2:22more about certain things. You'd e-mail me and say, Dan, I
- 2:24want to, you know, do coaching and I'll send you my coaching
- 2:26link and you book in and I work on a specific thing.
- 2:29So you said to me, oh, I'm having a difficult time in a
- 2:32relationship with my partner, my spouse, and we work on those
- 2:35issues. So therapy actually has a very
- 2:37important role and actually has one of the most important roles.
- 2:40Yeah, I think it's the least thought about thing when people
- 2:43think about autism. Because when you go online and
- 2:45you look for stuff and you read about things, reading and
- 2:47looking is one thing. But when you're actively getting
- 2:49tactile feedback, when you're sitting with somebody, when
- 2:51you're when you're trying stuff, when you're when you're getting
- 2:54told to do protocol and practices and you follow them
- 2:56through, you actually win every time you do that because
- 2:59practice makes progress and you win every time.
- 3:01Now, guys, I have a free Autism Wife Hacks PDF book at
- 3:04autismhacks.net that you can get right now.
- 3:06And if you have anything to add this video, pop in a comment and
- 3:08read every single one and share this video if you think somebody
- 3:11can benefit. All right, guys, I'll see you in
- 3:12the next one. Peace.
