- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey guys, Deanna here and you're listening to Almost Famous
- 0:09Speaker 2: and we are popping on tonight to just kind of
- 0:11Speaker 2: follow the news. And I'm here with my producer, Heather,
- 0:14Speaker 2: because she doesn't sleep, she doesn't eat, she doesn't do anything,
- 0:17Speaker 2: and she couldnot wait to dive in tonight because so
- 0:21Speaker 2: much has transpired over the last few days in our
- 0:23Speaker 2: headlines for our girl Taylor, Frankie, Paul.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Yanna, not even the last few days, in the last
- 0:29Speaker 3: few hours. I just keep hopping on here and there's
- 0:32Speaker 3: more and more to talk about. It's absolutely crazy.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I honestly I can't keep up, Heather, when you text
- 0:38Speaker 2: me tonight with new links, I honestly can't keep up.
- 0:41Speaker 2: And I have felt a way about it since we
- 0:43Speaker 2: recorded with Trista, just like I'm so sad. I'm so
- 0:47Speaker 2: sad for this girl and her child and and him too,
- 0:51Speaker 2: you know what I mean. There's the connection because of
- 0:53Speaker 2: the Bachelorette, but it's just sad. It's just really sad.
- 0:57Speaker 3: It's really sad. And I said that a couple of
- 1:01Speaker 3: days ago to Ashley right after the season the New
- 1:04Speaker 3: season had premiered, I you know, scarfed down six episodes
- 1:08Speaker 3: in one night, and I said, you know that I
- 1:11Speaker 3: was crying watching it at one point. You know, she
- 1:14Speaker 3: was getting really emotional and she was talking about that
- 1:17Speaker 3: she just wanted to be chosen, and that like really
- 1:21Speaker 3: hit me when I was watching it, and I was
- 1:23Speaker 3: just like, girl. I think so many women have felt
- 1:27Speaker 3: like that in different areas of their life, whether it's
- 1:29Speaker 3: chosen by a partner, chosen by a family member, you know.
- 1:33Speaker 3: And I think that it goes without saying. I mean,
- 1:37Speaker 3: obviously here on this podcast, we've been doing Frankie Friday.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Frankie Friday is not where we rip her down, It's
- 1:42Speaker 3: where we build her up and we talk about her.
- 1:44Speaker 3: You know. We have really been anticipating and looking forward
- 1:48Speaker 3: to this season, probably me more than anybody on this show,
- 1:51Speaker 3: just because I've watched this whole evolution. So yeah, I mean,
- 1:57Speaker 3: I think it's it's a bummer. But unfortunately, as much
- 2:00Speaker 3: as people love a comeback story, they love a teardown
- 2:04Speaker 3: even more. And it's really hard to be watching it
- 2:08Speaker 3: happening in real time.
- 2:10Speaker 2: It's really really hard. It's really hard. You want her
- 2:13Speaker 2: to come to this side right. ABC has this whole
- 2:15Speaker 2: thing about the show that it's this whole glow up
- 2:17Speaker 2: and it's this fairy tale ending, and it's this good show,
- 2:21Speaker 2: this good, wholesome show of people finding love. And I
- 2:25Speaker 2: feel her on the part of just wanting to be chosen.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Are you joking? I've searched for my whole life, but
- 2:31Speaker 2: it doesn't feel good to me what is happening. It
- 2:35Speaker 2: doesn't feel good the way things are being released. It
- 2:38Speaker 2: doesn't feel good. Oh man, I want to choose my
- 2:44Speaker 2: words wisely here, but it doesn't feel good the way
- 2:46Speaker 2: they're releasing things and making this woman the lead of
- 2:49Speaker 2: a show and making her live through it over and
- 2:52Speaker 2: over and over again. We just, you know, one of
- 2:55Speaker 2: the clips that we just saw of her online, she
- 2:58Speaker 2: sounds broken. You went to an event, she showed face
- 3:01Speaker 2: because she is trying to promote a show that she
- 3:03Speaker 2: has done, and she sounds broken. I almost cried Heather
- 3:09Speaker 2: listening to it, because you can hear the pain in
- 3:11Speaker 2: her voice when she is speaking that it took all
- 3:14Speaker 2: she had to get there that night like that. Man,
- 3:18Speaker 2: I don't have to say can you imagine? Because I can.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I've been there. I've been there and that's so hard.
- 3:25Speaker 2: That's so hard.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I think a lot of us can't relate to that
- 3:30Speaker 3: aspect that you can with her about the having to
- 3:33Speaker 3: be a public facing figure in a time where your
- 3:36Speaker 3: personal life or everything around you feels like it's crashing down.
- 3:40Speaker 3: But I think that we all can relate on some
- 3:43Speaker 3: certain level about when things are happening in our lives
- 3:46Speaker 3: and we have to still show up for our jobs,
- 3:48Speaker 3: or we have to show up for our kids or
- 3:51Speaker 3: people that rely on us, and it's rough. It's rough
- 3:54Speaker 3: to put your emotions in everything that you're feeling and
- 3:57Speaker 3: thinking on the back burner. For her, you know, she's
- 4:02Speaker 3: having to do it on camera, and she's having to
- 4:05Speaker 3: do it in front of millions of people. And kind
- 4:06Speaker 3: of what I was saying with Ben the other day is,
- 4:10Speaker 3: you know, it's one thing that she's already been on
- 4:16Speaker 3: two shows basically at the same time. It's another to
- 4:20Speaker 3: now be the center of a media blitz that's been
- 4:23Speaker 3: happening since Sunday night and having to face all of
- 4:26Speaker 3: that alone again. This is where I mean things. We're
- 4:31Speaker 3: gonna see the change. It's been confirmed she is going
- 4:33Speaker 3: to be on Good Morning America tomorrow morning, which is
- 4:36Speaker 3: Wednesday morning. We're taping this on Tuesday, and so we'll
- 4:40Speaker 3: have to see what she says, and you know what
- 4:43Speaker 3: the approach is with that. Personally. We'll get into some
- 4:47Speaker 3: of the quotes from tonight from the media event, and
- 4:50Speaker 3: I want to get your opinion, and obviously I want
- 4:52Speaker 3: to talk about some of the things I didn't hear
- 4:54Speaker 3: in some of these quotes when I'm listening to it.
- 4:56Speaker 3: But why don't we first start off with, you know,
- 4:59Speaker 3: the the direct quotes to People magazine where she broke
- 5:03Speaker 3: her silence for the first time.
- 5:05Speaker 2: All Right, Heather, I've read this People exclusive tonight, and
- 5:10Speaker 2: I know you've read it too, So let's dive in here.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Taylor Frankie Paul breaks silence after domestic violence investigation news. Honestly,
- 5:20Speaker 2: just like my heart hurts to see it, to go
- 5:22Speaker 2: through it, especially at this time, Paul told People exclusively.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Just the timing is hard and it's a big deal.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I feel like every premiere that I've experienced I've never
- 5:32Speaker 2: enjoyed fully, so this is another one. It's extremely hard,
- 5:36Speaker 2: and it took everything to get me here today. Like
- 5:39Speaker 2: even just reading that, Heather is just like devastating, like
- 5:45Speaker 2: just saying that, like, there's no way she showed up
- 5:49Speaker 2: to this in his hole in that moment, you know,
- 5:51Speaker 2: the things that are going on, the things that are
- 5:53Speaker 2: being posted in the press, the screen shots, just every
- 5:58Speaker 2: bit of it, and having to show face in an
- 6:00Speaker 2: event where really, she's right, this should be a joyful
- 6:04Speaker 2: moment for her. She's one of the biggest love dating
- 6:09Speaker 2: shows in television on ABC. This should be a joyful
- 6:12Speaker 2: moment for her. When I did this, I was over
- 6:15Speaker 2: the moon and I was joyful and as I was excited,
- 6:17Speaker 2: and that's not what this is for her today. And
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'll keep going. It's just heavy. It's a heavy time,
- 6:25Speaker 2: and it's unfortunate, she continued. I'm struggling, for sure, but
- 6:29Speaker 2: also at the same time, I feel like if I
- 6:31Speaker 2: don't show up, then I'm just giving these opportunities away
- 6:34Speaker 2: and not enjoying what we've worked on and something super
- 6:38Speaker 2: exciting that's coming up. I just feel like it was
- 6:41Speaker 2: the right thing to do show up, even though it's hard.
- 6:47Speaker 2: That's I mean, I hear some humility in what she
- 6:51Speaker 2: is saying and putting one foot in front of the other,
- 6:52Speaker 2: and you know what, She's also under contract, she's got
- 6:56Speaker 2: to be there exactly.
- 6:58Speaker 3: I think that's, you know, the in between that's not
- 7:01Speaker 3: being said. But also right as somebody who has been
- 7:05Speaker 3: sharing so openly about her mental health and her mental
- 7:07Speaker 3: health struggles, I think that this is a reminder to
- 7:10Speaker 3: anybody that's listening right now that you have to listen
- 7:14Speaker 3: to that voice first and foremost, you know what I mean.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Something I've noticed is, and I apologize if I haven't
- 7:22Speaker 3: done too much of a deep dive on this, but
- 7:24Speaker 3: I haven't seen any photos or videos from tonight. The
- 7:28Speaker 3: audio that we listened to was a different outlet extra
- 7:31Speaker 3: that did not show video but used audio from their recording.
- 7:35Speaker 3: So I'm wondering if cameras were allowed in on this event.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Well, so that's what I'm wondering, And I'm also wondering
- 7:43Speaker 2: with the stuff, the changes that have taken place over
- 7:46Speaker 2: the last god, what is so Tuesday forty eight hours?
- 7:51Speaker 2: I wonder how much they scaled down for this event.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I wonder how many people actually came showed up, and
- 8:00Speaker 2: I wondered how much press they actually let be there.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Well, having people there for the exclusive is an extra.
- 8:08Speaker 3: These are the top kind of news outlets that I
- 8:11Speaker 3: know that the show probably has very strong relationships.
- 8:14Speaker 2: With Yeah, they have their contracts.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you're not going to probably see TMZ. You're
- 8:20Speaker 3: not going to probably see you know, maybe a reality
- 8:26Speaker 3: TV blog or something like that.
- 8:28Speaker 2: That's not.
- 8:30Speaker 3: And when we listen to the extra audio, the questions
- 8:35Speaker 3: were I don't want to say easy, but they were
- 8:40Speaker 3: light ish.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I want to say. My guess is ABCPR took a
- 8:44Speaker 2: look at those questions and said, you may ask this,
- 8:46Speaker 2: not this, not this, you know what I mean to
- 8:49Speaker 2: Hopefully I can imagine they are. I know that they
- 8:53Speaker 2: are all scrambling to kind of put a band aid
- 8:56Speaker 2: over this and really like crisis control, like that's where
- 8:59Speaker 2: they're right now. Their show is launching in one week,
- 9:02Speaker 2: and I know.
- 9:02Speaker 3: We talked about even one week less than Yeah Sunday.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I know we talked about this on another podcast,
- 9:08Speaker 2: and I'm really struggling with was there a plan to
- 9:11Speaker 2: release it beforehand to try and drive viewership and listen?
- 9:16Speaker 2: Either way, I think whether if the show airs, people
- 9:19Speaker 2: will watch. They will want to know. Everyone loves the
- 9:24Speaker 2: drama unfortunately, and I think that they'll get the ratings
- 9:27Speaker 2: I do. I think that people will show up. They'll
- 9:29Speaker 2: watch one way or the other, whether they feel good
- 9:31Speaker 2: about it or they feel bad about it. But I
- 9:33Speaker 2: just have wondered over the last day or so, how
- 9:38Speaker 2: calculated this was, and if it was calculated, do they
- 9:42Speaker 2: understand that it has backfired a bit, you know what?
- 9:45Speaker 2: I mean that people are not responding well to this.
- 9:49Speaker 2: If that was the whole point and saving this and
- 9:51Speaker 2: hoping to gear up towards her release, or if it wasn't,
- 9:54Speaker 2: it's just all really questionable to me.
- 9:57Speaker 3: I mean, I think that there's no doubt that the
- 10:00Speaker 3: media release being late Sunday night was a calculated move.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Like there's no if sands or butts about it. That
- 10:07Speaker 3: she just happened to walk one of the biggest carpets
- 10:10Speaker 3: of her entire career and this, you know, wasn't at
- 10:14Speaker 3: the top of people's minds because they didn't know about it,
- 10:17Speaker 3: you know. So I think that that was a very
- 10:19Speaker 3: calculated move for sure. I think that they really, as
- 10:23Speaker 3: the kids would say, fumbled, yeah, you know when it
- 10:26Speaker 3: came to her. I think that having the season in
- 10:29Speaker 3: the can and having somebody who, for lack of a
- 10:32Speaker 3: better term, is a loose cannon. It does not make
- 10:35Speaker 3: for a good equation.
- 10:37Speaker 2: It almost makes you feel like the show in itself
- 10:39Speaker 2: has no clue who it is anymore, you know what
- 10:41Speaker 2: I mean? They're pulling someone from Mormon Wives, and did
- 10:47Speaker 2: they think that that chaos would match well in this scenario?
- 10:51Speaker 2: You know? It's I think that they translate some viewers,
- 10:55Speaker 2: but I don't know that all translate back and forth
- 10:57Speaker 2: and watch the two shows. But it just makes you
- 10:59Speaker 2: want or was this there thinking if they pulled some
- 11:02Speaker 2: of that and made it into the Bachelorette, was that
- 11:06Speaker 2: going to revive their viewership? I don't know, what do
- 11:09Speaker 2: you think?
- 11:09Speaker 3: I think so when we see what Dancing with the
- 11:12Speaker 3: Stars just had, having two cast members on that season
- 11:16Speaker 3: and seeing the wild success and you know, the numbers
- 11:20Speaker 3: and everybody tuning into that, I think that they saw
- 11:23Speaker 3: that and they were like, yeah, we are on the
- 11:25Speaker 3: right track with this decision. I think where they lost
- 11:29Speaker 3: the plot was holding onto the season. Whether that was
- 11:34Speaker 3: like discussed or who made that decision or why that
- 11:37Speaker 3: decision had to be made. That was the bad decision.
- 11:40Speaker 3: You've finished filming in December. You should not be airing
- 11:44Speaker 3: it in March. You should have been airing it in
- 11:47Speaker 3: late January, and you should have started airing it while
- 11:49Speaker 3: you were still editing the end of the season. And
- 11:52Speaker 3: the reason for that is because of the nature of
- 11:55Speaker 3: who she is and the nature of how the other
- 11:58Speaker 3: show rolls, which is that they're constantly filming and they're
- 12:01Speaker 3: pumping out two seasons a year because there's so much
- 12:04Speaker 3: going on in these girls' lives. So whoever made those
- 12:08Speaker 3: decisions up top, I think that's really where you start
- 12:11Speaker 3: with the bad decision making. I think, listen, we could
- 12:14Speaker 3: go back and forth all day long about if she
- 12:16Speaker 3: should have even gotten the role because of her background,
- 12:18Speaker 3: and if she were a man, she wouldn't have gotten
- 12:20Speaker 3: this blah blah blah blah blah. I've heard it, guys.
- 12:23Speaker 3: It's not like I'm negating the seriousness of that. But
- 12:27Speaker 3: the decision was made, and they did bend the rules
- 12:30Speaker 3: for her, and unfortunately she bent back. She did not,
- 12:36Speaker 3: you know, fold into a pretzel into this mole that
- 12:39Speaker 3: they were I think expecting. And I think that they
- 12:43Speaker 3: just don't have the bandwidth to anticipate somebody like her,
- 12:47Speaker 3: because in general, ABC does not make that kind of
- 12:50Speaker 3: programming and they don't deal with kinds of people like her,
- 12:53Speaker 3: who live a little bit more coloring outside the lines
- 12:57Speaker 3: than a typical bachelorette.
- 12:58Speaker 2: I think that's why the show works, Heather, you know
- 13:00Speaker 2: what I mean. That's why in the past it has worked.
- 13:03Speaker 2: They have taken people who who relatively I mean, I
- 13:07Speaker 2: know that the show has followed the rhythm of taking
- 13:09Speaker 2: people from past seasons but relatively no TV experience, not
- 13:11Speaker 2: doing anything else because they can mold them.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Of course you need the show, right, they don't need you.
- 13:18Speaker 3: But this is the reverse. They need her, she doesn't
- 13:21Speaker 3: need the show, and so is where you have a
- 13:24Speaker 3: big power difference. Right. We knew she was not going
- 13:28Speaker 3: to play ball. We knew she was not going to
- 13:31Speaker 3: be the quote unquote typical person. I think there's good
- 13:35Speaker 3: and bad that comes with that. Right, there's no denying
- 13:38Speaker 3: that the show was completely stale on its last leg.
- 13:42Speaker 3: No viewership. If everybody can remember, The Bachelorette was not
- 13:46Speaker 3: picked up for another season after tran season, that means
- 13:50Speaker 3: that nobody's watching. Guys. I love your comments of like,
- 13:53Speaker 3: I'm not going to watch this season. I'm not gonna watch.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Nobody's been watching. Let's just be super super real. Nobody
- 14:00Speaker 3: been watching and this is a jolt of energy that
- 14:04Speaker 3: the show has not had in probably more than ten years.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I think that, you know, you can go with the
- 14:11Speaker 3: adage of all press is good press. I think in
- 14:15Speaker 3: this situation that's not the case. And I think that
- 14:20Speaker 3: unless there's some major, major course correcting that happens in
- 14:25Speaker 3: this GMA interview tomorrow morning, I don't know how to
- 14:32Speaker 3: get the horse back on the track with this. I
- 14:36Speaker 3: do agree with you that I think people are still
- 14:38Speaker 3: going to tune in and watch, but we should talk
- 14:41Speaker 3: about the fact that, you know, we did confirm in
- 14:43Speaker 3: our last episode that Cinnabon had pulled out of not
- 14:46Speaker 3: only The Bachelorette, but also Secret Lives and Mormon Wives
- 14:49Speaker 3: as a sponsor. You know, it's usually the house of cards.
- 14:53Speaker 3: With one pulls out, then they all start to pull out.
- 14:55Speaker 3: So I think we should move over to this report
- 14:59Speaker 3: coming from Reality Blurb, which says ABC is holding emergency
- 15:03Speaker 3: talks regarding axing The Bachelorette after Taylor Frankie Paul's DV
- 15:08Speaker 3: allegations as first advertiser pulls out.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Man, there's so much there because you know, if you're
- 15:16Speaker 2: looking at it on both sides of the street, Heather,
- 15:19Speaker 2: let's say the air it. They say, any press is
- 15:23Speaker 2: good press. Let's run with it. Let's tell this fairy
- 15:27Speaker 2: tale story over the next ten weeks, and let's see
- 15:31Speaker 2: how it goes. I'm not even touching the rumors that
- 15:34Speaker 2: have already started swirling yesterday about how her and her
- 15:37Speaker 2: final one are not together. They have already broken up,
- 15:40Speaker 2: They ended their engagement before this whole mess started. There
- 15:43Speaker 2: are screenshots of the amount of times that she called
- 15:46Speaker 2: Dakota lots of things or the other side of the street.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Let's say they've invested all this time, this money, this
- 15:53Speaker 2: effort they've produced, to show it is fully produced. They
- 15:56Speaker 2: have edited a few episodes at least at this point,
- 16:00Speaker 2: I would think it's it's close to done.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Well, remember we still have a mental all special that
- 16:04Speaker 3: would have to be filed.
- 16:05Speaker 2: The money. You know this, Heather, you work in television.
- 16:08Speaker 3: That is just lighting money on fire. If you do
- 16:11Speaker 3: not air that show, that is literally taking hundreds of
- 16:15Speaker 3: thousands of dollars, if not close to a million, and
- 16:20Speaker 3: it is lighting it on fire if it does not air.
- 16:34Speaker 2: How does this happen? How do the executives sit down
- 16:38Speaker 2: at the table at the end of the day and
- 16:39Speaker 2: they're like, no, can it? We cannot put this on television?
- 16:42Speaker 3: Well can it if the ad people pull out, because
- 16:45Speaker 3: then they will not make money on it. It will
- 16:47Speaker 3: not be up to them at that point. If the
- 16:49Speaker 3: ads pull out, they have to as a network. They
- 16:53Speaker 3: have to make that decision to get rid of the show,
- 16:55Speaker 3: because those ad people don't just buy on to The Bachelorette.
- 16:59Speaker 3: They also buy onto Gray's Anatomy and other things that
- 17:04Speaker 3: they're on ABC, and those are the relationships that are
- 17:07Speaker 3: more important than one series. Is that a huge loss
- 17:11Speaker 3: for them as a network? Absolutely?
- 17:14Speaker 2: Well, I think this will be the end of the show.
- 17:16Speaker 2: How did they come back from this?
- 17:17Speaker 3: Absolutely? It will be. If they have to pull it.
- 17:20Speaker 3: We will not be seeing another season of The Bachelorette
- 17:23Speaker 3: or The Bachelor, and we don't have enough contestants for
- 17:26Speaker 3: Bachelor in Paradise, so the franchise will definitely it'll go
- 17:30Speaker 3: on an indefinite hiatus.
- 17:31Speaker 2: That's what has to.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Happen because they would not be able. You have to
- 17:37Speaker 3: make money. You have to make money, and if there's
- 17:40Speaker 3: nobody buying ads, then that's what goes away. And I
- 17:43Speaker 3: can actually recall two shows in my memory from the
- 17:47Speaker 3: last ten years that had a similar situation. They were
- 17:51Speaker 3: not dating shows, or one of them, I can't remember
- 17:55Speaker 3: that if it was categorized as a dating show. But
- 17:57Speaker 3: they had to go away because the ads pulled out.
- 18:00Speaker 3: And one of them was called sex Box. I was
- 18:03Speaker 3: gonna say a theater and there was a giant box
- 18:06Speaker 3: on stage and the contestants were couples, real life couples,
- 18:11Speaker 3: and they were assigned sex exercises. They had to go
- 18:14Speaker 3: into this box that was like audio proof, viewproof, whatever
- 18:19Speaker 3: they had to do the said act that they were assigned,
- 18:22Speaker 3: and then they had to come back out on stage
- 18:24Speaker 3: and talk about it. It aired one episode, all the
- 18:27Speaker 3: ads pulled out. We never saw another episode of that
- 18:31Speaker 3: show ever in God, Thank God God. And then there
- 18:34Speaker 3: was another one that was done on members of the
- 18:38Speaker 3: KKK I Believe for A and E, and they aired
- 18:42Speaker 3: the trailer for it. It had a premiere date, it
- 18:45Speaker 3: had already been shot, and it was so poorly received
- 18:50Speaker 3: by the ad like the trailer, that the ads for
- 18:54Speaker 3: the network started to pull out that they can the
- 18:57Speaker 3: show and they never and I want to say that
- 18:59Speaker 3: they didn't air it, but that it ended up on
- 19:01Speaker 3: streaming years later.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, I you know, there's so much more that
- 19:07Speaker 2: goes into this. There's so much more that goes into
- 19:11Speaker 2: this that we don't even consider and that we don't
- 19:14Speaker 2: even think about. But you know what, I'm the things
- 19:17Speaker 2: the topics that I have seen in the last twenty
- 19:19Speaker 2: four hours of people talking about, you know, fans of
- 19:22Speaker 2: the show, fans saying like, we knew this was going
- 19:27Speaker 2: to be the end. We knew that this was going
- 19:29Speaker 2: to ruin everything on the show. We knew this was
- 19:31Speaker 2: not a good choice. What was ABC thinking? Like, there's
- 19:34Speaker 2: a lot, a lot, a lot of pushback, you know, Heather.
- 19:37Speaker 2: They're supposed to be doing a premiere in Los Angeles
- 19:40Speaker 2: this weekend on Sunday night. I was originally supposed to go.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I will be shocked if they still do it.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Well, listen, they still had a premiere, a media dinner tonight,
- 19:51Speaker 3: you know what I mean. I feel like they keep
- 19:53Speaker 3: moving forward as business as usual. So that's why I
- 19:56Speaker 3: really think we have to pay attention to what happens
- 19:59Speaker 3: one with the GA interview in the morning, and to
- 20:02Speaker 3: what happens with ads and companies within the next twenty
- 20:06Speaker 3: four hours, because that's really the deciding factor. If we
- 20:10Speaker 3: go back to this article, it says, according to Rob
- 20:13Speaker 3: Shooter's substack crisis, discussions are being held by executives about
- 20:18Speaker 3: what to do with The Bachelorette. In the midst of
- 20:20Speaker 3: the latest PR nightmare, the talks came fresh on the
- 20:23Speaker 3: heels of Cinnabon pulling their promotion partnership from ABC for
- 20:27Speaker 3: The Bachelorette and for Taylor's main gig, The Secret Lives
- 20:31Speaker 3: and Mormon Wives. As for why they canceled their partnership,
- 20:34Speaker 3: they stated it was due to recent developments and allegations
- 20:37Speaker 3: that don't align with their brand. This has turned into
- 20:41Speaker 3: a full blown crisis. A network source dished there are
- 20:45Speaker 3: serious conversations happening about whether the show can move forward
- 20:48Speaker 3: as planned. An insider explained the situation was spurred by
- 20:53Speaker 3: Sinnabon pulling out, noting once sponsors start running, it causes
- 20:58Speaker 3: the networks too hanic because at the end of the day,
- 21:03Speaker 3: people are here to make money and it's a shame
- 21:07Speaker 3: that her mental health isn't reason enough to do the pullback.
- 21:12Speaker 3: But that's just not how the world works. And so yes,
- 21:16Speaker 3: money talks, and so if these ads start to pull
- 21:21Speaker 3: we're not going to see a show, and it can
- 21:23Speaker 3: happen very quickly, it can happen overnight. So that's why
- 21:25Speaker 3: I say the next twenty four to forty eight hours
- 21:28Speaker 3: will really tell if we're going to see a show
- 21:30Speaker 3: on Sunday.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a really hard lesson for me when
- 21:33Speaker 2: I became the Bachelorette is to realize that first and foremost,
- 21:37Speaker 2: it's a television show. They're trying to make money, first
- 21:39Speaker 2: and foremost. Right, I was so naive at twenty five,
- 21:43Speaker 2: twenty six years old. I thought, these people love me,
- 21:45Speaker 2: these people want to see me happy, and I think
- 21:47Speaker 2: there is a part that they do. But first and foremost,
- 21:50Speaker 2: it is a television show and they are trying to
- 21:52Speaker 2: make money, and every bit of this will be proof
- 21:57Speaker 2: to that. I'm very, very eager to see how things go.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I am like clinging to the edge of my seat
- 22:03Speaker 2: with this Good Morning America tomorrow. I can't wait to
- 22:06Speaker 2: watch it. I can't wait to see do they let
- 22:10Speaker 2: her run wild and say whatever she wants or how
- 22:15Speaker 2: I will well now guarded. But you know what is
- 22:18Speaker 2: so funny. I think as viewers, people will know the difference.
- 22:21Speaker 3: But you heard the difference in that video I sent
- 22:24Speaker 3: you tonight from Extra. You already heard it. You already
- 22:28Speaker 3: hear the canned answer. You already hear the life missing
- 22:32Speaker 3: from her voice. She's already this is out of her hands. Now.
- 22:39Speaker 3: The Titanic is sinking and she's got to grab on
- 22:42Speaker 3: to the lifeboat and she's got to do what they're
- 22:45Speaker 3: telling her, otherwise she'll be in breach of contract that
- 22:51Speaker 3: and I'm not going to get into what that could entail,
- 22:55Speaker 3: but there's been plenty of people from the show that
- 22:59Speaker 3: have come mountain years past and talked about things that
- 23:03Speaker 3: they've done that have been considered breach of contract and
- 23:06Speaker 3: what the show has done to them to make sure
- 23:08Speaker 3: that it doesn't happen again. They don't play around with
- 23:11Speaker 3: that kind of stuff. And so I think now it's like,
- 23:15Speaker 3: we let you do what you wanted to do.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Now you're gonna play nice and do it. You're going
- 23:19Speaker 2: to do what we want.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Otherwise we're gonna go get big, bad and scary, because
- 23:26Speaker 3: that's what they have the ability to do.
- 23:28Speaker 2: It's honestly gross, Heather, It's honestly gross, and it makes
- 23:32Speaker 2: me feel gross. We're watching a woman, a young woman's
- 23:36Speaker 2: life fall apart. There's children involved. She's a mother, she
- 23:41Speaker 2: is a mother at the end of the day, he's
- 23:44Speaker 2: a father. Right. I'm trying very hard not to just
- 23:47Speaker 2: play one sided because I don't have a personal connection
- 23:50Speaker 2: to either one of them.
- 23:51Speaker 3: But we also do have to maintain the fact that
- 23:53Speaker 3: nobody forced her to do this, that she fully offered
- 23:57Speaker 3: herself up or went through the process of this and
- 24:00Speaker 3: was like game to do it. And so unfortunately it's
- 24:05Speaker 3: it's sad as well that she took on a role
- 24:08Speaker 3: that she wasn't prepared for. And instead of saying I've
- 24:15Speaker 3: taken on a very large responsibility, I have a lot
- 24:17Speaker 3: of eyes on me right now. I'm going to need
- 24:20Speaker 3: to like put myself in check. I'm going to need
- 24:22Speaker 3: to put myself in time out. I'm going to need
- 24:25Speaker 3: to make sure that I'm looking out for me. And
- 24:28Speaker 3: I think that, you know, a lot of that kind
- 24:31Speaker 3: of wisdom comes just with age and mistakes, and she's
- 24:35Speaker 3: got to have to learn clearly the hard way, and
- 24:38Speaker 3: some people are just like that. But I also think
- 24:41Speaker 3: that this is maybe a wake up call to get
- 24:43Speaker 3: the kind of right people on your team.
- 24:46Speaker 2: I hope, so, I hope, so I hope we see
- 24:48Speaker 2: some humility from her.
- 24:50Speaker 3: That's what I think needs to happen on Good Morning America.
- 24:52Speaker 3: And that's what I want to talk about that I'm
- 24:54Speaker 3: not seeing in these quotes. I'm not seeing a whole
- 24:57Speaker 3: lot of I've mess step. I'm sorry, Bachelor Nation. Hey,
- 25:04Speaker 3: I took this seriously, like I want you to come
- 25:07Speaker 3: and see my journey.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Unfold well, because the truth of the matter is, it's
- 25:11Speaker 2: no longer just about her. She has filmed an entire show.
- 25:15Speaker 2: There's been twenty five whatever guys who who came out
- 25:19Speaker 2: and were a part of a show and for whatever reason. Right,
- 25:22Speaker 2: let's hope that they were all there for the right
- 25:24Speaker 2: reasons whatever, you know what I'm saying. But they also
- 25:27Speaker 2: came and gave up a part of their lives and
- 25:29Speaker 2: are going to be on television and had expectations. I
- 25:32Speaker 2: swear to God, these unmet expectations will kill us all
- 25:36Speaker 2: at the end of the day, you know, And they've
- 25:39Speaker 2: all given up a part of their life. It was
- 25:41Speaker 2: an experience for each and every one of them.
- 25:43Speaker 1: You know.
- 25:45Speaker 2: One of the things that I was seeing was that
- 25:47Speaker 2: some of the guys are upset over the fact that
- 25:50Speaker 2: they came there, you know what I mean. They came
- 25:52Speaker 2: there hoping to date her and was she ready because
- 25:54Speaker 2: of the situation between her and her ex.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna not take those quotes super serious.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.
- 26:02Speaker 3: I've just been in this world for way too long.
- 26:06Speaker 3: And I can tell you right now that men who
- 26:10Speaker 3: get on these shows don't typically sign up for them themselves.
- 26:16Speaker 3: They don't go around looking to go on a dating
- 26:18Speaker 3: show because they're ready to find love and like this
- 26:22Speaker 3: is their way that they're going to do it and
- 26:24Speaker 3: they haven't had the right woman. No, I'm going to
- 26:27Speaker 3: burst the bubble and tell you that about ninety five
- 26:31Speaker 3: percent of them were found by a casting team, a
- 26:34Speaker 3: very well rounded casting team who are talented at what
- 26:37Speaker 3: they do. But men don't sign up for these shows.
- 26:42Speaker 3: It is a very rare occurrence. When they do. I
- 26:45Speaker 3: will say this, Women sign up for them all day long.
- 26:47Speaker 3: We never have a problem finding women for a dating show.
- 26:50Speaker 3: But men traditionally do not sign up for these. So
- 26:54Speaker 3: they were approached by a casting person. They were you know,
- 26:59Speaker 3: either doing something on their social media that was looking
- 27:01Speaker 3: for attention that caught somebody's eye, or they were reached
- 27:05Speaker 3: out about a television show, and that was the opportunity
- 27:09Speaker 3: that they took. Could they have been open to love
- 27:13Speaker 3: looking for love? Sure, But I'm really kind of over
- 27:18Speaker 3: this whole leg here for the right reasons. Da da
- 27:21Speaker 3: da da da.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Just in a number's way, this's a fairy tale ending
- 27:24Speaker 2: for me always.
- 27:25Speaker 3: I mean, I love that for the people that that
- 27:27Speaker 3: get that experience, I think that's great. But at the
- 27:30Speaker 3: end of the day, the numbers for the show do
- 27:34Speaker 3: not equal love for the majority of the cast. And
- 27:38Speaker 3: there are other dating shows where you are more likely
- 27:42Speaker 3: to find love and this is not one of them.
- 27:44Speaker 3: And I think just statistically, you have to look at
- 27:47Speaker 3: the fact that The Bachelor and the Bachelorette is actually
- 27:50Speaker 3: not set up for a place for you to find love.
- 27:53Speaker 3: And you might be thinking you're crazy when I say this,
- 27:56Speaker 3: but you're more likely to find love on Love Island.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Sign me up, let's go.
- 28:03Speaker 3: It's because there's more people. It's because there's less producer
- 28:07Speaker 3: interaction and you're able to just spend genuine connection time.
- 28:12Speaker 3: There's not a lot of there's hardly ever any integrations
- 28:15Speaker 3: or things that they're off doing and filming little side
- 28:18Speaker 3: plots and whatnot. The Bachelor and the Bachelorette is a
- 28:22Speaker 3: whole fantasy world wrapped up in a television show to
- 28:26Speaker 3: make it look like a love journey. And so have
- 28:29Speaker 3: there been successes over the twenty years that it's been
- 28:32Speaker 3: on the air. Absolutely, have we known people that have
- 28:35Speaker 3: had successful relationships. Absolutely. I'm not saying it doesn't work.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I'm just saying statistically, you are not likely to find
- 28:43Speaker 3: love on the show these days, especially, but you could
- 28:48Speaker 3: on another dating show where you had more prospects, where
- 28:51Speaker 3: you had more chance to spend one on one time
- 28:53Speaker 3: with people getting to know them, where you weren't being isolated.
- 28:56Speaker 3: And The Bachelor is like living in one location and
- 28:58Speaker 3: the rest of the people are living in another. There's
- 29:01Speaker 3: a reason why television networks and production companies don't make
- 29:05Speaker 3: shows like this anymore. They don't make I can't think
- 29:09Speaker 3: of another dating show right now where there's only one lead.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think that that is.
- 29:13Speaker 3: And the reason for that is nobody wants to take
- 29:17Speaker 3: the risk of putting a show on somebody's shoulders. And
- 29:20Speaker 3: that is what we're seeing happen with Taylor, is we're
- 29:23Speaker 3: seeing her crumble under the weight of what this franchise
- 29:27Speaker 3: is resting on her plus trying to hold her own
- 29:30Speaker 3: life together. So the problem is the show is outdated.
- 29:35Speaker 3: The show took way too long to change with the times,
- 29:39Speaker 3: and now they've done a huge swing and a miss
- 29:43Speaker 3: because they're trying to play catch up and they're trying
- 29:47Speaker 3: to play ball in a field that they don't really
- 29:49Speaker 3: play in, which is this messy kind of more PG
- 29:53Speaker 3: thirteen maybe are rated kind of you know stuff and
- 29:57Speaker 3: it's just not their field and are just not equipped
- 30:01Speaker 3: for it. Am I going to be watching on Sunday
- 30:04Speaker 3: Absolutely want to see I want to see Taylor far
- 30:07Speaker 3: I really do. I want to see the comeback story.
- 30:11Speaker 3: I prefer a comeback of an underdog then a takedown,
- 30:14Speaker 3: but that's not the world we live in. And so
- 30:17Speaker 3: right now, I'm just really bummed for everybody involved. And
- 30:22Speaker 3: I've said it before, but I really think that Taylor
- 30:25Speaker 3: needs to go to a real facility, really needs to
- 30:31Speaker 3: be away from her phone and not engaging. I think
- 30:35Speaker 3: her relationship with social media also needs to be addressed
- 30:40Speaker 3: and adjusted. The fact that she even on this most
- 30:42Speaker 3: recent season, we saw the minute something bad happened, she
- 30:45Speaker 3: immediately went and made TikTok videos about said person involved.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Those are all really bad responses things to do, especially
- 30:54Speaker 3: when you're thirty one years old. You're not twenty one,
- 30:56Speaker 3: you're thirty one. So I really like her and her volte,
- 31:00Speaker 3: her ability, and I really enjoy watching her right now,
- 31:06Speaker 3: it is very obvious because she is using her words
- 31:09Speaker 3: and she is actually saying that she is struggling. And
- 31:13Speaker 3: my issue is that nobody's listening.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm with you. I'm right there with you.
- 31:19Speaker 2: The next twenty four to forty eight hours, I so
- 31:23Speaker 2: much is going to be told tomorrow's interview with Good
- 31:28Speaker 2: Morning America, you know what I mean, Like, let's chat
- 31:30Speaker 2: after that. I'll be really interested to see what she
- 31:33Speaker 2: has to say, what all she addresses. I imagine there's
- 31:35Speaker 2: some legal aspects too, of some stuff that she cannot
- 31:38Speaker 2: talk about. I don't imagine. I know that there are
- 31:40Speaker 2: things that she is not going to be able to
- 31:42Speaker 2: talk about. And yeah, so much is going to be
- 31:46Speaker 2: telling in the coming hours, that is for sure. And Yeah,
- 31:50Speaker 2: I'm with you. I hope that this is her rope.
- 31:53Speaker 2: She's had enough length on it, and she is being
- 31:55Speaker 2: yanked back to her knees right now, because she is
- 31:58Speaker 2: only thirty one can live a happy, full life with
- 32:02Speaker 2: a lot of help and a lot of therapy and
- 32:04Speaker 2: a lot of boundaries and healthy boundaries. She said it
- 32:06Speaker 2: in one of those interviews, they were addicted to each other.
- 32:09Speaker 2: They were addicted to each other, she said that in
- 32:12Speaker 2: one of those interviews, Heather.
- 32:13Speaker 3: She has said it all season. She has said it's
- 32:15Speaker 3: an addictive cycle that they are in. She's very self
- 32:19Speaker 3: aware in a lot of ways. And this is why
- 32:21Speaker 3: I say she needs to go and do something a
- 32:23Speaker 3: little more intensive, because she's been very open about her
- 32:27Speaker 3: therapy and working on herself. But I don't know if
- 32:31Speaker 3: that's actually working. I think she really needs to do
- 32:36Speaker 3: something super immersive, and that must be very difficult being
- 32:40Speaker 3: a mother. I cannot imagine. But at this point, it's
- 32:44Speaker 3: you were screaming for help, yeah, and your kids can't
- 32:48Speaker 3: help you, and you don't have a partner right now
- 32:51Speaker 3: to lean on to help you, so you need to
- 32:54Speaker 3: help yourself.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Yeah. I would hope that there's some people surrounding her, Heather,
- 32:59Speaker 2: that are that are pushing her in that direction. I
- 33:01Speaker 2: hope that she has people who care about her and
- 33:04Speaker 2: love her around her, who are like let's nip this
- 33:07Speaker 2: in the butt. Now, let's get you some help. There's
- 33:09Speaker 2: lots of places that she can go to. I've done it,
- 33:11Speaker 2: there's no shame in it. And I hope that she's
- 33:14Speaker 2: got people who love her enough around her and say
- 33:17Speaker 2: let this be it.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Well. I hope the show is allowing her to have
- 33:22Speaker 3: those kinds of conversations, because that means not doing press
- 33:25Speaker 3: for the show. That means stepping away. And that's what
- 33:30Speaker 3: I say that this is a dying franchise for a reason,
- 33:34Speaker 3: and it's because you're putting too much weight on one person.
- 33:39Speaker 3: When you see another show where there's a dud, guess what,
- 33:42Speaker 3: you have four other people that are sharing the screen time.
- 33:45Speaker 3: So it's a lot and we've seen in a lot
- 33:49Speaker 3: of recent seasons, not all, but a lot where we've
- 33:52Speaker 3: seen that the lead doesn't really rise to the role
- 33:55Speaker 3: and doesn't really adjust well on camera and doesn't feel
- 33:59Speaker 3: We've also had Lee come off of the show and
- 34:01Speaker 3: say that that wasn't really them on camera, that was
- 34:04Speaker 3: a watered down version of them, That was the feeling
- 34:08Speaker 3: very self conscious. And I just really think that if
- 34:13Speaker 3: we do end up seeing this season come to fruition,
- 34:16Speaker 3: I don't know how quickly we're going to see another
- 34:18Speaker 3: one after and if this is the end, it's the end,
- 34:22Speaker 3: and that's a shame because I do want to see it.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Well listen, I mean from somebody who's been on the show,
- 34:28Speaker 2: I you know what I mean. Eighteen years later, I
- 34:31Speaker 2: love still being able to be a part of it,
- 34:33Speaker 2: I do, you know. I mean, I don't have to
- 34:34Speaker 2: be the main character anymore, which is a relief. I
- 34:37Speaker 2: get to just show up, see my friends, make a
- 34:39Speaker 2: little money, have a good time. I love that there
- 34:42Speaker 2: is success to the show and I get to be
- 34:44Speaker 2: a very small piece of that. I have a very
- 34:47Speaker 2: full and grateful heart for that. And if it's done,
- 34:49Speaker 2: it's like wow, you know what I mean, It's almost
- 34:52Speaker 2: like it's something that I can't quite comprehend the end
- 34:55Speaker 2: of The Bachelor or the Bachelorette because it's been living
- 34:59Speaker 2: for so long and I've reaped the benefits of being
- 35:02Speaker 2: part of the franchise for years. And I'm not talking
- 35:04Speaker 2: financial benefitshether, I'm just talking about being part of something
- 35:08Speaker 2: so special.
- 35:09Speaker 3: Huah. The sisterhood that you guys have is so unique
- 35:11Speaker 3: and so cool to watch.
- 35:13Speaker 2: The guys don't have that. There's no group bachelor's text.
- 35:17Speaker 2: You know, I've heard this. They just golf with Ben
- 35:20Speaker 2: and Chris Harrison.
- 35:21Speaker 3: But I will say that all good things must come
- 35:23Speaker 3: to an end. And I think it's, you know, so
- 35:26Speaker 3: cool that you're in this very elite club of being
- 35:30Speaker 3: part of the longest running dating show in America. You know,
- 35:36Speaker 3: it's it. That's a cool kind of little honor to have.
- 35:40Speaker 3: You know that, all these years later, you're still Deanna
- 35:44Speaker 3: the Bachelorette.
- 35:45Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 35:46Speaker 3: I say this to Ben all the time. I'm always like,
- 35:47Speaker 3: you're still Bachelor Ben, you know, no Bachelor Bob after
- 35:52Speaker 3: all these years, you know what I mean? I think
- 35:54Speaker 3: that's so cool. But at the end of the day,
- 35:58Speaker 3: all good things do have to come to an end.
- 36:00Speaker 3: At the point the bands don't last forever, shows don't
- 36:03Speaker 3: last forever, and and things change. And I think that
- 36:08Speaker 3: it's honestly so incredible that we're still talking about this
- 36:12Speaker 3: show years later.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Who would have thought, what will we talk about then, Heather,
- 36:18Speaker 2: what will we do?
- 36:19Speaker 3: We'll have to just hope that Love Overboard gets another season,
- 36:22Speaker 3: that's for.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Sure, yes, multiple then we then we have something else
- 36:27Speaker 2: some some other joy that we can focus on exactly.
- 36:40Speaker 3: But I really appreciate you coming on tonight and giving
- 36:43Speaker 3: your opinion because it is so unique to hear from
- 36:46Speaker 3: somebody else who's in who's been in the bachelorette position before.
- 36:50Speaker 3: And let's not forget that Taylor's only the second single
- 36:55Speaker 3: mom bachelorette ever to be on the show. So she's
- 37:00Speaker 3: coming in with I don't want to say the word
- 37:03Speaker 3: baggage because that's not it, but she's coming in with
- 37:06Speaker 3: her own full life. And normally we're used to seeing
- 37:11Speaker 3: somebody who is, like you said earlier, a little bit
- 37:13Speaker 3: more moldable, and so I think that that's what makes
- 37:17Speaker 3: this different, different in a good way. And I have
- 37:21Speaker 3: seen so many comments from people in Bachelor Nation. Stop
- 37:25Speaker 3: casting twenty somethings. They don't want courage, they don't want love. Well,
- 37:30Speaker 3: now you got it, and guess what happens.
- 37:32Speaker 2: They're not happy with that either.
- 37:35Speaker 3: With real life comes mess with real life, and age comes.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Problems, toxic relationships. You take toxic relationships of people who
- 37:45Speaker 2: that is messy. I know I've lived it.
- 37:47Speaker 3: It is messy, but that's life, right, And anything that
- 37:52Speaker 3: I appreciate about Taylor is that she's never run from
- 37:57Speaker 3: any of this. She's always been like, this is who
- 38:01Speaker 3: I am, this is my life, this is how I roll.
- 38:05Speaker 3: And I can appreciate that to a certain extent, and
- 38:09Speaker 3: I can appreciate that as talent who is being their
- 38:13Speaker 3: authentic self. I won't say, but there are a lot
- 38:15Speaker 3: of shows out there, unscripted reality shows that are not
- 38:20Speaker 3: genuine to what is actually happening in those people's lives.
- 38:24Speaker 3: And we can honestly say this moment aside, because we
- 38:29Speaker 3: haven't seen season five that's being filmed right now, Taylor
- 38:32Speaker 3: has put it all out there. Yeah, so that is
- 38:35Speaker 3: why people are connected to her. Again, we do not
- 38:38Speaker 3: condone violence. We don't, and so nobody is saying that
- 38:44Speaker 3: anybody was in the right. Again, we don't even know
- 38:46Speaker 3: all the details to that night, but you cannot knock
- 38:50Speaker 3: her for being inauthentic.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought that the day we filmed the reunion special,
- 38:59Speaker 2: I said that several times. If anything, no matter what
- 39:03Speaker 2: happens in the end, she showed up as herself exactly,
- 39:07Speaker 2: And I have nothing but respect for that.
- 39:10Speaker 3: But sometimes when you take on a large responsibility and
- 39:15Speaker 3: you are authentic and you make mistakes. Where things happen,
- 39:19Speaker 3: you have to own them because that's part of it.
- 39:22Speaker 3: And we've seen especially and we can wrap it up
- 39:25Speaker 3: on this, but we all saw what happened when mel
- 39:27Speaker 3: Owens took the role of Golden Bachelor. He did not
- 39:31Speaker 3: watch the show, he was not from the franchise. He
- 39:34Speaker 3: seemed to not care when he stepped into that role
- 39:38Speaker 3: and actually said disrespectful things and then doubled down and
- 39:42Speaker 3: just was like, that's my sense of humor, blah blah blah.
- 39:46Speaker 3: I think that in this situation, obviously there's a huge difference.
- 39:52Speaker 3: These are not just comments, these are huge allegations. But
- 39:56Speaker 3: she's not running away, yeah, you know, still trying to
- 40:00Speaker 3: own it. And I think what the biggest mistake they
- 40:03Speaker 3: made with mel was that they didn't get in front
- 40:06Speaker 3: of it. They waited until his first night in the
- 40:10Speaker 3: mansion to kind of half ass address it. I said
- 40:14Speaker 3: on Sunday when this broke, we will see her do
- 40:17Speaker 3: an interview before next Sunday. And it's happening, and that
- 40:22Speaker 3: is the way that you do it. When crisis, when
- 40:24Speaker 3: things happen that are wrong, you have to get out
- 40:26Speaker 3: there and you have to address it. It'll be interesting
- 40:29Speaker 3: to see how she addresses it, because, like you said,
- 40:32Speaker 3: there's not going to be a lot she can say
- 40:34Speaker 3: in terms of anything that's an ongoing investigation. But she
- 40:37Speaker 3: can take humility and say that this is a large
- 40:40Speaker 3: responsibility for her to take on two shows. At the
- 40:43Speaker 3: same time, she can say that maybe she wasn't in
- 40:45Speaker 3: the right headspace when she came to join the show,
- 40:48Speaker 3: but that she's really hoping people will find and watch
- 40:50Speaker 3: her on her love journey because it is something special.
- 40:54Speaker 3: You know, There's a lot she can say, and I
- 40:57Speaker 3: think we'll all just be tuning in tomorrow to see
- 41:00Speaker 3: what that is.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I'm hoping and praying for it exactly.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Well, thanks Dianna for coming on, And if you didn't
- 41:07Speaker 3: listen in the other day, Dianna and I will be
- 41:09Speaker 3: recapping Hulu's Love Overboard starting next week.
- 41:14Speaker 2: All right, guys, thanks for listening. I've been Deanna and
- 41:16Speaker 2: I've been Heather.
