- 0:56Speaker 2: special guests in here, akon the legend, Welcome.
- 1:00Speaker 1: What's up, daddyo?
- 1:01Speaker 4: What's up man?
- 1:02Speaker 2: How you doing?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Oh man? Amazing as usual.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I feel like you obviously got a new record that's
- 1:08Speaker 2: going crazy at radio. This is your second one in
- 1:10Speaker 2: like a year. It's feeling a little two thousand and
- 1:13Speaker 2: eight us in here. What it's been like for you
- 1:17Speaker 2: to be like fully activated and like just fully you
- 1:20Speaker 2: told me you're out here working on finishing up your
- 1:22Speaker 2: new album. Does it feel good to be fully like
- 1:24Speaker 2: back just I mean wearing because you obviously have had
- 1:28Speaker 2: so many business ventures. You've been behind the scenes with
- 1:30Speaker 2: so many people's careers, but it feels like you're in
- 1:32Speaker 2: your bag right now.
- 1:33Speaker 1: No, man, Honestly, this is probably the best I felt
- 1:36Speaker 1: in a long time. It feels real good to be
- 1:38Speaker 1: honest like especially knowing, Okay, now I can allocate all
- 1:41Speaker 1: my time back into music because before I had one
- 1:43Speaker 1: foot in, one foot out, having a bunch of business.
- 1:46Speaker 1: But then I would make time for the music, you
- 1:48Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. But now I was like, Okay,
- 1:50Speaker 1: I'm not worried too much about the business stuff. All
- 1:51Speaker 1: that's turnkey on cruise control. Now just focus on music
- 1:55Speaker 1: full time.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Yeah, how's the album sounding?
- 1:57Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, I'm excited.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Is there any any features?
- 2:01Speaker 1: The first album, it won't be no features because I
- 2:04Speaker 1: need to give the audience back the experience that I
- 2:07Speaker 1: that I kind of deprived of them. But then the
- 2:09Speaker 1: second album is called Iconic, which means every song from
- 2:12Speaker 1: top to bottom would have like iconic features on them.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Oh fire, Yeah, I feel like telling some of your
- 2:17Speaker 2: biggest I mean, most of your biggest songs you by yourself.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Yeah, they are.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Most I mean but that's the funny thing is most
- 2:23Speaker 2: people would need you to be on there right, to
- 2:26Speaker 2: be back in the day. It was like, because like
- 2:29Speaker 2: I need a hit, I'm gonna call Akon, I'm gonna
- 2:31Speaker 2: call t Pain, I mean right. It was really kind
- 2:35Speaker 2: of Yeah. Were you able to see Pain's Coachella performance
- 2:38Speaker 2: that it's been going viral?
- 2:40Speaker 4: A lot of people have been talking.
- 2:40Speaker 1: About and listen, I've been waiting for the world to
- 2:42Speaker 1: see Pain at its highest peak. This ship made me proud,
- 2:46Speaker 1: to be honest, I just know how he is. Like,
- 2:48Speaker 1: I know, Pain has always been the most amazing performer,
- 2:50Speaker 1: but he never had the real big outlets that most
- 2:53Speaker 1: artists have because he never got the flowers that I
- 2:55Speaker 1: felt like he deserved, you know what I mean.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I felt like right around the time, like that
- 3:00Speaker 2: was the timing for that was would have been right
- 3:02Speaker 2: the Death of Autitude and jay Z's song came out,
- 3:05Speaker 2: and then people kind of like turn. I felt like
- 3:07Speaker 2: people like got weird about T pain It just in time, though.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I feel like we've like everyone's kind of appreciated, like
- 3:15Speaker 2: T Painty could do this. Both of y'all could do.
- 3:17Speaker 1: The super Bowl. Yeah, without a question.
- 3:19Speaker 4: If y'all could be man, y'all do that super Bowl.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Shit, man, we would like the super Bowl up.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yeah, promise you no, I'd be crazy. Last time I
- 3:26Speaker 2: saw you was in Thailand. Yep, you had to show
- 3:29Speaker 2: out in Thailand, which was that rolling loud. It was
- 3:31Speaker 2: a good time. Thailand is one of the craziest places
- 3:33Speaker 2: I've ever been, very crazy for good and bad. I mean,
- 3:39Speaker 2: I mean mostly good reasons.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I love How long were you out there?
- 3:43Speaker 1: I was there for four days?
- 3:45Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, you don't think about going out there. You
- 3:46Speaker 2: had that time difference to fuck you up because it's
- 3:49Speaker 2: like a whole day ahead.
- 3:50Speaker 1: It's a whole day head because I was I was
- 3:52Speaker 1: in Bali for New Year's Eve, and then I stayed
- 3:55Speaker 1: in Baldi long enough to be able to do my
- 3:57Speaker 1: Thailand date. So I just stayed out there and then came, yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: showing you something.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Ye, Thailand's amazing, man, it's a good time.
- 4:03Speaker 2: What is your biggest like outside of the US? What
- 4:07Speaker 2: country would you say is like your biggest streaming market?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Man? Honestly, I haven't even looked at the analytics like that,
- 4:14Speaker 1: but if I had to choose, I would probably say
- 4:15Speaker 1: India and Brazil Africa. I think US is probably the last.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Oh really, because Europe comes after that, So US Latin
- 4:27Speaker 1: America technically yeah, technically Europe out of the big ones,
- 4:32Speaker 1: US is probably the last I saw.
- 4:34Speaker 2: You said that you were considering or you're gonna re
- 4:37Speaker 2: record your catalog with country the country genre version.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Huh yeah, listen, wait till you hear it.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Though you already started working.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I already started, Like it's it's monstrous, like.
- 4:51Speaker 2: So, what songs have you tweaked for country so far?
- 4:54Speaker 1: Well? This this thing? Because I got Trivia. I got
- 4:57Speaker 1: Trivia's coming out this week. When is this? Errand because
- 4:59Speaker 1: I I want to give it up.
- 5:00Speaker 2: This will this will probably drop Monday. Today's Wednesday. So
- 5:03Speaker 2: we've got we're gonna get through the weekend this week.
- 5:05Speaker 2: So to drop Monday.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Drop, to give up the trivia is to give up
- 5:13Speaker 1: the trivia. But just know that all of the hit
- 5:15Speaker 1: records all but been redone or actually I'm currently re
- 5:18Speaker 1: recording now in country.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Just like with country producers.
- 5:21Speaker 1: No, so so what I'm doing, i' went to Nashville
- 5:24Speaker 1: to actually do it, Like I'm going to think of
- 5:26Speaker 1: what country play like, I know what's going on, right,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm just I just love country music and if I
- 5:32Speaker 1: represent it from on my classics, I want it done
- 5:35Speaker 1: with the people that this is what they do and
- 5:37Speaker 1: the people that I'm a fan of, from the writers
- 5:39Speaker 1: to the producers to the arrangers, like the environment I
- 5:42Speaker 1: want to in golf, all of that. So we got
- 5:43Speaker 1: the first one actually that I'm actually going to be
- 5:46Speaker 1: announcing through a trivia question on which record will be
- 5:50Speaker 1: the first one that I do and who I plan
- 5:51Speaker 1: to feature it on.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Can I get the trivia questions, see if I can
- 5:53Speaker 2: answer it. Give me the trivia, let me see if I
- 5:57Speaker 2: could past.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Okay, So the first trivia. I'm actually gonna play the
- 6:01Speaker 1: first song that I'm doing in country backwards. Oh, so
- 6:05Speaker 1: you got to guess which one it is. Then the
- 6:07Speaker 1: second trivia is who do you think is who do
- 6:09Speaker 1: you think I'm featuring on that one?
- 6:12Speaker 2: A country artist? So all of these songs like country.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Artists, and they're actually legitimate Top ten Billboard country artists
- 6:18Speaker 1: on these bad boys.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Have you linked up with Jelly Roll yet?
- 6:22Speaker 1: Damn? He's a trivia question too. I can't. I can't
- 6:24Speaker 1: see so you have linked up with Jelly Roll? Oh
- 6:26Speaker 1: I can, I can. Well, the question is ship, So
- 6:31Speaker 1: man ca, have you messing up my You messing up
- 6:32Speaker 1: my whole trivia?
- 6:34Speaker 2: Have you hung out with Jelly Roll in your life?
- 6:36Speaker 2: I can't ask you spend any time with Jelly Roll?
- 6:38Speaker 2: I can't ask you haven't spent time. You can't tell
- 6:41Speaker 2: with him. Have you been in a recording studio with
- 6:43Speaker 2: Jelly I can't ask.
- 6:44Speaker 1: The Jelly Roll questions because he's a part of my trivia.
- 6:46Speaker 2: So he's so Jelly Roll is a part of your trivia,
- 6:48Speaker 2: which means he's a part of the country. I can't
- 6:49Speaker 2: say wow, shout out to Jelly Roll, man. I can't
- 6:52Speaker 2: say shoreboozy, I can't say man soboo.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Cut it out, man, you gonna give it up my
- 6:59Speaker 1: damn past Man, don't do it. You're gonna give it.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Up a little Morgan Wall maybe Bro please.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Man, you're too many names right now.
- 7:08Speaker 2: So what you're trying to say is by next year,
- 7:10Speaker 2: you're gonna be on stage coach.
- 7:11Speaker 1: By next year, I'll be on a uh probably CMA's
- 7:16Speaker 1: for sure.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Well, you gotta do stage coach because one hundred percent
- 7:19Speaker 2: whiz did it?
- 7:20Speaker 4: T Pain?
- 7:20Speaker 2: Did it?
- 7:20Speaker 1: Promise you? I'm doing stage coach?
- 7:22Speaker 4: Yeah, Pain.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I think when Pain covered that Chris, he did all
- 7:25Speaker 2: them covers even Actually I don't.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Want to speak for Pain, but I think one of
- 7:29Speaker 1: the purpose of doing all those covers was to go
- 7:31Speaker 1: and kill stage Coach.
- 7:32Speaker 2: And I also feel like it showed people.
- 7:34Speaker 1: How versatile he was to that he's such a beast
- 7:37Speaker 1: and his voice.
- 7:37Speaker 4: If you strip away that autoitude, it doesn't matter.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Yep, it don't even matter. He's still killing him.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Nah for sure, for sure, you in Pain, still in
- 7:44Speaker 2: contact for regular that's my dog, my lit bro. I'm
- 7:48Speaker 2: surprised we never got like a joint album from y'all.
- 7:52Speaker 1: We've actually been talking about it. We me and have
- 7:54Speaker 1: been talking about doing that for a minute.
- 7:55Speaker 2: If there's a t pain Akon joint album sometime in
- 7:58Speaker 2: the next like year or two with a tour, you
- 8:00Speaker 2: guys are selling out that it'd be crazy. You stir
- 8:05Speaker 2: that up and you get the super Bowl buzz.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Going a thousand all that's coming in my Trevius.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Show. I can't wait to hear the jelly Roll song.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Jedyal is a good guy.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I like jelly Roll a lot. Yeah, Like he's a convict.
- 8:23Speaker 2: He is a convict and actually just saw he's one
- 8:26Speaker 2: step closer because obviously he can't vote in Tennessee where
- 8:30Speaker 2: he's from, but they the courts are one step closer
- 8:34Speaker 2: from fully pardoning him as a felon because he's been
- 8:38Speaker 2: doing so much work to help like you know, people
- 8:40Speaker 2: incarcerated and and all that, and so yeah.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Aw, it's amazing, man, he deserves it.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Convict for sure. Convicted Akon and and the convict jelly
- 8:49Speaker 2: Roll On a song together coming soon.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I think like what uh, what would be? It
- 8:55Speaker 4: would be that I feel like locked up with jelly
- 8:58Speaker 4: Roll would be crazy.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Statae tick. I can hear Jelly's tone doing this.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Please God, I can't go fuck up my goddam what dude.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I can hear I can hear Jelly saying it in
- 9:11Speaker 2: his tone. It's gonna be good. If that ever happened,
- 9:15Speaker 2: that would be great happen.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you credit for making it happen.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Shouts to Jelly, man, are you going to stage Coach
- 9:19Speaker 2: this weekend?
- 9:20Speaker 3: No?
- 9:20Speaker 1: No, I won't be on Unfortunately, I'll be in a
- 9:22Speaker 1: studio working on my album for next years.
- 9:24Speaker 2: What is uh sonically like? Do you feel like you're
- 9:27Speaker 2: just kind of like, are we getting Vintage Acon? Are
- 9:30Speaker 2: we getting World of Acon?
- 9:31Speaker 4: What is what is this?
- 9:32Speaker 1: Yeah? You get you getting? You getting Vintage Acon with
- 9:34Speaker 1: a twist of Tomorrow's Acon.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Okay I like that?
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, that's that's dope.
- 9:40Speaker 4: U man?
- 9:41Speaker 2: What what what inspired you to want to do the
- 9:43Speaker 2: country ship? Because I think a lot of people, I mean,
- 9:45Speaker 2: you're a singer songwriter, so country I feel like country
- 9:48Speaker 2: is the one genre right now or if you're looking
- 9:50Speaker 2: for like strong songwriting, you're gonna find it like no.
- 9:54Speaker 1: One interestingly enough, Like a lot of people don't know
- 9:56Speaker 1: that my first album was written based on country music, really,
- 10:01Speaker 1: I swear to God, and I wanted to do a
- 10:03Speaker 1: country remix album at that time, but the label would
- 10:05Speaker 1: never let me do it because they thought it was
- 10:06Speaker 1: it would break away my audience and I want to
- 10:09Speaker 1: be looked at as a sellout. Wow, So it kind
- 10:13Speaker 1: of crushed my dreams and I just realized I couldn't
- 10:15Speaker 1: do it. And then, lady lately, I'm saying to myself, Okay,
- 10:18Speaker 1: now that music has now kind of all came together,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I think now it's probably the best time to do it,
- 10:24Speaker 1: if any to take those classics and actually do it.
- 10:26Speaker 4: I love that.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think like, yeah, back then, if you
- 10:29Speaker 2: would have did that, I tried people to look at
- 10:31Speaker 2: thought I was crazy. People would have looked.
- 10:32Speaker 1: At you crazy.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I mean when Nelly did it, people thought he was
- 10:35Speaker 2: fucking crazy.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I thought it was genius. And I actually envy Nelly
- 10:38Speaker 1: because he was able to do it and I couldn't.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and he was able to do it to like
- 10:41Speaker 2: he just put out a whole country album like he
- 10:43Speaker 2: he was able to like.
- 10:44Speaker 1: That pocket before any of us.
- 10:45Speaker 4: For sure.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Ya shot to Nelly, man, talk to me, uh, what
- 10:51Speaker 2: is your you? Obviously you're a fucking og you've been
- 10:54Speaker 2: dealing with. I mean, I don't know you've had multiple wives?
- 11:01Speaker 1: Is that KIV? Next question please.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yeo. Hypothetically, if you had more than one wife, how
- 11:11Speaker 2: do you deal with that without wanting to kill yourself?
- 11:13Speaker 1: I wouldn't kill myself. I would live life happily, So
- 11:16Speaker 1: it's fun. I think I think most guys would like that.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Would you set up a schedule like a Google spreadsheet,
- 11:22Speaker 2: Like it's Tuesday, it's you and you, it's Wednesday, it's Friday,
- 11:25Speaker 2: it's all of us.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Is that how you do it?
- 11:27Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe, or or it'd be like a
- 11:31Speaker 2: color system where like you're green, you're purple, you're purple,
- 11:33Speaker 2: you're green, and then we're just gonna hit ram, We're
- 11:35Speaker 2: gonna spin away on whatever color. It's purple day, Come
- 11:37Speaker 2: on in baby.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, your life would be interesting. I
- 11:40Speaker 1: would definitely watch it. Yeah, if you had.
- 11:42Speaker 2: A really show or if you had a reality show,
- 11:45Speaker 2: it would be great.
- 11:46Speaker 1: No, no, no, my life is too interesting?
- 11:48Speaker 2: Is it too interesting?
- 11:48Speaker 1: Too interesting?
- 11:49Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on that? Have you been paying attention?
- 11:51Speaker 2: What's going on with Shannon Sharp?
- 11:52Speaker 1: That was interesting to watch? Yeah, that was interesting to watch.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Yeah, it's pretty crazy.
- 11:59Speaker 1: No, that's pretty crazy. Like have you seen like.
- 12:01Speaker 2: The texts and some of the voicemails.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Well, I heard the call.
- 12:06Speaker 2: So you heard where he said, big black man choking
- 12:08Speaker 2: a little white woman in public.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Wait I didn't hear that.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Just rand new mixtape just dropped this morning, that new
- 12:18Speaker 2: Shannon Sharp tape.
- 12:19Speaker 1: No, come on, bro, why are you doing shadd like that?
- 12:22Speaker 3: Man?
- 12:24Speaker 2: Bro, I'm gonna player for you because you this ship
- 12:29Speaker 2: is raising also, like, oh here it is, hold on.
- 12:36Speaker 5: You're coming to La tomorrow. Yes, well, I don't know
- 12:48Speaker 5: why you want to go out.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Wait, it don't make sense by the way, she sounds
- 12:53Speaker 2: so boring.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Okay, okay, what well, I'm not really interested and getting choked,
- 13:15Speaker 5: so I guess we're going.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Okay, I may choke your above me, big black guy choked,
- 13:30Speaker 3: small white bubby.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You're my old things like oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I don't even like that man. Listen Shannon Sharp all
- 13:44Speaker 2: whatever happened to side. I'm just a little disappointed that
- 13:48Speaker 2: this fifty four year old man didn't think that a
- 13:49Speaker 2: nineen year old white girl was trying to set his
- 13:51Speaker 2: ass up. What the fuck are you doing with a
- 13:52Speaker 2: nineteen year old girl.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Well, listen, guys, at the end of day, there's a
- 13:56Speaker 1: lot of elder that's living their prime years with younger women. Right,
- 14:02Speaker 1: let's just be honest. Men like younger women. Right now,
- 14:05Speaker 1: you go too far, then, yeah, you went too far.
- 14:07Speaker 1: But for the most part, I just feel like Shannon
- 14:10Speaker 1: is getting set up.
- 14:11Speaker 2: He's I feel like he's getting six. But he walked
- 14:13Speaker 2: right into the trap and was like, I like it here.
- 14:19Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, I'm gonna say some crazy shit on text.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Mean some of the text menage.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I don't think he knew he was being recorded either,
- 14:26Speaker 1: because all all them spaces in between a convers No
- 14:29Speaker 1: conversation ever has that many spaces unless there's a conversation
- 14:33Speaker 1: being on as being muted, and with today's AI, you
- 14:36Speaker 1: can delete the voice and allow the background to keep playing.
- 14:40Speaker 1: That's one thing. Number two. I believe that him and
- 14:43Speaker 1: her always have these kinky type of conversations.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I mean some of the times that she
- 14:49Speaker 2: said to him about them, because you.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Don't yeah, you don't, you don't. You don't go from
- 14:53Speaker 1: are you gonna be in LA tomorrow? To I don't
- 14:56Speaker 1: like being choked? As your next response, like it does
- 15:00Speaker 1: don't makes sense? Like, wait, what did I got to
- 15:02Speaker 1: do with him coming to LA tomorrow after that long
- 15:04Speaker 1: ass gap?
- 15:05Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 15:05Speaker 2: You know what I mean. I feel like Shannon's got
- 15:07Speaker 2: to be more self aware that like I think he's
- 15:09Speaker 2: gonna I think he's more than self aware now. But
- 15:11Speaker 2: like this all happened after he went on live and
- 15:15Speaker 2: was with Michelle or what was the girl's name? Was
- 15:18Speaker 2: it Michelle? The girl? He was fucking yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 2: Shannon's got for being an old head man. He got
- 15:22Speaker 2: to reel it in a little Yeah, he got to
- 15:26Speaker 2: reel it in dog like you're a thirty year old.
- 15:28Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. Shit, Monique said it best.
- 15:31Speaker 2: He said, you need a fat, oh bitch to rub
- 15:33Speaker 2: your feet and cook you.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Jesus, it's a dangerous time.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Man. Last time we did an interview, people were mad,
- 15:42Speaker 2: I didn't ask you you did the hair transplant only
- 15:45Speaker 2: to cut your Hair's what's the point?
- 15:47Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, no, that wasn't I didn't do
- 15:49Speaker 1: the I didn't do the hair plant plant to cut
- 15:51Speaker 1: my hair. I did the transplant to grow hair. Okay,
- 15:55Speaker 1: the problem was my hair wasn't growing so I said,
- 15:59Speaker 1: fuck it, I'm just gonna keep cut to keep it even.
- 16:01Speaker 1: But I actually like it better than now this way.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it looks classic income.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Yeah, this is better man. It makes I look younger.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I feel better. Yeah, I mean I miss the waves though.
- 16:10Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean the waves are there. Your hairline
- 16:13Speaker 2: was a training.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Topic that shit kept be relevant the whole fucking What
- 16:22Speaker 1: was that during the pandemic?
- 16:23Speaker 2: Wasn't it something?
- 16:25Speaker 1: I even had fun with it?
- 16:25Speaker 5: Man.
- 16:26Speaker 1: We used to put stuff out there just so I
- 16:27Speaker 1: can I can laugh. And I think it was you
- 16:31Speaker 1: that broke the store. Probably it came from your show.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah, uh was is it true back in the day
- 16:39Speaker 2: your brothers would fill in for you at shows?
- 16:41Speaker 1: No, it was just it was well Bou used to
- 16:44Speaker 1: feel in for me and shows, and then my other
- 16:46Speaker 1: brother Omar. He would just debo like straight take a
- 16:49Speaker 1: show like I'll be in New York and next thing
- 16:52Speaker 1: you know, you see, I'm getting a fly from Baltimore
- 16:55Speaker 1: that I'm performing live. This is a Oh, would just
- 16:59Speaker 1: book the show and keep the money, like, wouldn't even
- 17:00Speaker 1: tell me like about as you. He would go as
- 17:03Speaker 1: me was oh yeah, oh, mom was straight gangster but.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Oh man, and this is like before I guess, like
- 17:09Speaker 2: the internet was like super readily availed. Yeah, this is
- 17:11Speaker 2: this is so people could be like, I guess that
- 17:14Speaker 2: is ain't con No, No, they would not know the difference,
- 17:16Speaker 2: right because there was no YouTuber.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Right. And when you see me and my brother separately,
- 17:21Speaker 1: if you didn't see me in person, you would definitely say, okay,
- 17:23Speaker 1: one thousand percent for a thousand.
- 17:25Speaker 2: So you're older or your other brother was running it up.
- 17:28Speaker 1: He was almost running it up. Yeahs running up.
- 17:31Speaker 2: And then you you would send Boo sometimes to fill
- 17:34Speaker 2: in if you couldn't be there.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that was back then. I had two shows at
- 17:37Speaker 1: one point, you know, I send boot to one. I
- 17:39Speaker 1: took the other.
- 17:39Speaker 2: One, and so would just sing like he would up
- 17:44Speaker 2: his lips.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Wow, he looks like hustling.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Nobody ever called on.
- 17:49Speaker 1: It was a beautiful time, no, I mean, but then
- 17:51Speaker 1: Boo just got too popular. Yeah yeah, you know, he
- 17:53Speaker 1: got big got we laugh about it today. It was
- 17:57Speaker 1: a one point was like, bro, why you tell everybody?
- 18:00Speaker 1: Everybody ask me about the shit? Why you got to
- 18:01Speaker 1: tell everybody said, relax, we had fun with it over,
- 18:04Speaker 1: you know. But he was he was like man, I
- 18:06Speaker 1: didn't want abody know that I was playing you.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Yo. Obviously your brother used to manage Kanye. Yeah, he
- 18:11Speaker 2: worked with Kanye very closely. What are your thoughts on
- 18:13Speaker 2: some of the new Kanye tweets that have been floating around.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I mean, it's it's it's yes, yea yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 1: ye has his own specific I think he's in his
- 18:24Speaker 1: He's in his truth. He's in his truth right now. Yeah,
- 18:27Speaker 1: And I think his truth is rubbing a lot of
- 18:28Speaker 1: people a certain kind of way because they can kind
- 18:30Speaker 1: of remind I think his truth speaks to a lot
- 18:32Speaker 1: of people.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Right specifically, I'm talking about like, you know, the stuff
- 18:36Speaker 2: with his cousin, Like a lot of people went through that.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I mean, bro, it takes a lot to come out
- 18:42Speaker 1: and say, or admit for that matter, but just to
- 18:46Speaker 1: repent in a way to where you're not repenting to
- 18:51Speaker 1: the priests or the e mom.
- 18:53Speaker 2: You're repenting to the world.
- 18:54Speaker 1: You're repinning to the world. Like I think he's in
- 18:57Speaker 1: that space where I think he's kind kind of like
- 19:01Speaker 1: this is a space that no one could really understand
- 19:03Speaker 1: if you're not there, right, So I don't try to
- 19:04Speaker 1: explain what he's doing. I just try to explain it
- 19:06Speaker 1: from a perspective of how I understand it, and I
- 19:09Speaker 1: think he's in a spiritual space, from his understanding that
- 19:11Speaker 1: he needs to do these things and reveal his truth
- 19:14Speaker 1: to the world to reset you know what I'm saying,
- 19:18Speaker 1: If that makes sense.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like to like, you know, the thing
- 19:22Speaker 2: like him trying to get access to his kids he's got.
- 19:24Speaker 2: It's obviously hurting him, you know, Like I feel like
- 19:26Speaker 2: he's a guy who's going through a lot of a
- 19:28Speaker 2: lot of shit, and he's going through it in front
- 19:30Speaker 2: of our own eyes, you know.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Like, yeah, but I think the parenting part is something
- 19:33Speaker 1: that every man goes through, depending on how difficult the
- 19:36Speaker 1: woman chooses to be that you're with, Right, how.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Many kids you got? I got enough more than ten?
- 19:42Speaker 2: You know, don't speak about my kids.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Stop playing man.
- 19:45Speaker 2: You know this already going on.
- 19:48Speaker 1: No, No, Nick, Nick got about he got he got
- 19:50Speaker 1: a few more than me. Yeah, Nick's outside, No's he's
- 19:53Speaker 1: doing it right.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw the new thing Trump's talking about doing
- 19:56Speaker 2: is giving five grand Trump's talk about giving five grand
- 19:59Speaker 2: to to women have babies to stop the birth rate
- 20:02Speaker 2: from going down. To Nick Cannon's gonna be out here.
- 20:05Speaker 1: But I don't think he's talking to minorities. He's talking
- 20:07Speaker 1: to white folks, you think so, Yeah, because the white
- 20:09Speaker 1: folks they're not they're not breeding enough. This is why
- 20:12Speaker 1: they're the white race is slowly diminishing. They're not having any.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Which obviously don't even feel like it's a bad thing.
- 20:17Speaker 2: I feel like we're all just kind of fucking each
- 20:18Speaker 2: other at this point. So who gives a fuck?
- 20:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, the white folks don't fuck outside of
- 20:22Speaker 1: the race.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I got two Mexican babies.
- 20:25Speaker 1: No, but I I'm talking about in the South.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, in the South. I don't know. Man, You'll
- 20:29Speaker 2: see some of these young ladies, Like did you watch
- 20:32Speaker 2: Drew ski show on YouTube? Yeah, he had these two
- 20:35Speaker 2: like country ass white bitches who only fucked black dudes
- 20:38Speaker 2: on the show, and you could tell both of their
- 20:40Speaker 2: parents have said the herd are recently, it's almost like
- 20:45Speaker 2: the internet's gotten rid of like if you're like a
- 20:47Speaker 2: certain generation like of person, you're you're you're even if
- 20:52Speaker 2: your parents are like hardcore crazy racists, like you know,
- 20:57Speaker 2: your black culture is America like it is like all
- 21:02Speaker 2: of us. Yeah, but no, you're right, You're right, it is.
- 21:05Speaker 2: It is. I think it is a thing, like we
- 21:06Speaker 2: need more white babies out here.
- 21:08Speaker 1: They need to they definitely need to make more, you know, but.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Five thousand of pop. Like I wonder if I gave
- 21:13Speaker 2: my wife another one, you know, like it be half Mexican.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Do I get twenty five hundred half white, half Mexican?
- 21:20Speaker 3: Right?
- 21:20Speaker 1: Do you get half? That is an interesting question though.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I would actually ask as a trivia and see what happened.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah, like what about a mixed race baby, you know
- 21:27Speaker 2: what I mean? Half the money at half, you know,
- 21:29Speaker 2: like you get at twenty five, I'll take the tax break.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Crazy times, man, this is crazy. I'm curious you obviously,
- 21:41Speaker 2: being from you're from and you having the reach you
- 21:43Speaker 2: have in Africa, what is your thought process on uh,
- 21:49Speaker 2: just all of this. You know, I feel like we've
- 21:53Speaker 2: gotten to the point where there was like a problem
- 21:55Speaker 2: with immigration where the border was wide open. So obviously
- 21:59Speaker 2: you know, yeah, short, like the border should be wide open.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Peoplehouldn't be able to just walk into the country. There
- 22:03Speaker 2: should be some sort of process.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Yeah, this should be.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Then the pendulum swings the opposite way, in which it's
- 22:07Speaker 2: like people are just like getting rounded up with no
- 22:10Speaker 2: due process. People are getting snatched up off the streets
- 22:12Speaker 2: because they're critical of Israel and then they're getting sent
- 22:15Speaker 2: to prisons. I just told you they're talking about building
- 22:17Speaker 2: a prison similar to Alsabado and Rwanda, which is it's
- 22:21Speaker 2: just a crazy time to be an immigrant in America.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah, this is unbelievable, especially when you look at America
- 22:26Speaker 1: and America was built on immigrants.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Like while the Statue of Liberty is there.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I mean, everybody, believe it or not, everybody in America
- 22:32Speaker 1: is an immigrant because America, I.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Mean the Chinese built the railroads, you know.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Like I mean the Indians were here before whoever was
- 22:40Speaker 1: officially American claimed to be American to be here. So
- 22:43Speaker 1: we're all immigrants and when you look.
- 22:45Speaker 2: At it, it's just a scary time, man.
- 22:46Speaker 1: You know, it's so super scary man.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I just feel like there's just like the empathy
- 22:51Speaker 2: is just and they doesn't exist. Yeah, it's gone. Man.
- 22:55Speaker 1: It's really all about the money and control and power,
- 22:58Speaker 1: like it gotten to the point where money was more
- 23:01Speaker 1: important than human life.
- 23:03Speaker 4: Yep.
- 23:04Speaker 1: That's when it gets scary.
- 23:05Speaker 4: That is when it gets scary.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah, in Florida. They're I think they're bringing back child labor,
- 23:09Speaker 2: which is fucking nuts.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Child labor. Yeah you mean what.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah, they got rid of the child labor restrictions in Florida.
- 23:16Speaker 1: What purpose with that?
- 23:17Speaker 3: What? Like?
- 23:18Speaker 1: What how does that?
- 23:18Speaker 2: Who's gonna pick the oranges? We're gonna have twelve year
- 23:20Speaker 2: olds out there picking fucking oranges, man, because all they're
- 23:23Speaker 2: deporting all the motherfuckers working in the Orange Viele.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Right, that's true. Yeah, So for all the deportees that
- 23:28Speaker 1: you're sending out, who's gonna replace those jobs? So now
- 23:31Speaker 1: we're going to the point now where we have to
- 23:33Speaker 1: violate kids to get that done. Like, that's crazy.
- 23:35Speaker 4: It's a wild, wild times man.
- 23:37Speaker 2: We're living in like a black Yeah, it's a black
- 23:40Speaker 2: mirror episode for sure. Yeah. It's like every time I
- 23:43Speaker 2: turn the TV, I'm like, what the fuck, don't let
- 23:45Speaker 2: me check my crypto?
- 23:46Speaker 4: My cryptos melted.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I'm looking at my Ethereum'm like, God, this motherfucker was
- 23:53Speaker 2: supposed to be the crypto president.
- 23:55Speaker 4: What the fuck.
- 23:56Speaker 2: You still have a lot of crypto?
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yes, still got a crypto?
- 23:59Speaker 2: What are your what are you a main holder of bitcoin?
- 24:02Speaker 1: Bitcoin?
- 24:02Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Bitcoins can always be fine.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that's it. Just focus on bitcoin, everything else going
- 24:07Speaker 1: up and down.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Bitcoin on state where it's at, and concoins to God
- 24:10Speaker 2: for good God for coins still floating around.
- 24:12Speaker 1: No, I don't even talk about my queen.
- 24:13Speaker 2: In October, we got an update on my coin is over.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I saw you in October. What's the update on the
- 24:18Speaker 2: city and that's some process that's still happening.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yes, that's in process.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Is it hard for you to like because you know,
- 24:24Speaker 2: there's a lot of people who like say that, Like
- 24:26Speaker 2: if you watch there's like many YouTube documentaries about your
- 24:29Speaker 2: city and how it's like a big scam? Is it?
- 24:32Speaker 2: Do you care about the naysayers?
- 24:33Speaker 5: No?
- 24:33Speaker 2: I know the truth.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I don't care about that because in the end, when
- 24:36Speaker 1: the city's actually up, they're gonna feel like assholes.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Is it different if it wasn't happening.
- 24:41Speaker 2: What has been the most difficult part of that project?
- 24:43Speaker 2: Because it is a big thing to take on.
- 24:45Speaker 1: The biggest I think the most difficult part was fighting
- 24:47Speaker 1: the opposition, realizing how much interest that other governments had
- 24:51Speaker 1: in Africa, specifically in that area, and why they would
- 24:54Speaker 1: want to tear my project down. And that was a
- 24:56Speaker 1: big because I thought I was doing something to help,
- 24:59Speaker 1: but I didn't realize as much as I'm helping the people,
- 25:02Speaker 1: it's about the resources exactly. The oligarts that control with
- 25:06Speaker 1: certain areas, they feel like I'm going to interrupt what
- 25:09Speaker 1: they're doing over there as far as just robbing people.
- 25:11Speaker 2: So like in that area, what would be like an
- 25:15Speaker 2: oligarchic or a foreign government's interest in that area? Is
- 25:18Speaker 2: it resources?
- 25:19Speaker 4: Is it?
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yes, it's about resources control, Like that area is a
- 25:22Speaker 1: huge area for future developments and where they want to
- 25:25Speaker 1: build the new ports and stuff like that.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I feel like too, like they want to keep these
- 25:30Speaker 2: countries as poor as possible.
- 25:31Speaker 1: That's exactly what happens, So that's.
- 25:33Speaker 2: What they want, Like the goal is to keep everybody
- 25:35Speaker 2: in poverty over there, so they get what they want.
- 25:37Speaker 2: They can take advantage of a hundred of the minds.
- 25:39Speaker 2: They could take everything else because if everybody wakes up
- 25:43Speaker 2: or not necessarily wakes up, because I think people are
- 25:45Speaker 2: very like self aware. But if if it flit, an
- 25:49Speaker 2: alternative universe is created, an alternative path, right, then you
- 25:53Speaker 2: can't take advantage of You.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Can't take advantage you know, because when people are actually thriving,
- 25:58Speaker 1: they're not going to make starving decisions.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Like if you think about some of these like
- 26:02Speaker 2: minds in Congo, they're like it's like literally modern day
- 26:06Speaker 2: slave ye, and like all of our phones are fueling
- 26:08Speaker 2: this trade.
- 26:09Speaker 4: You know, our tesla is are fucking yep. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 26:13Speaker 1: It's crazy, bro.
- 26:14Speaker 2: It's definitely like I think, I think the last few
- 26:17Speaker 2: years what I've at least you know, sometimes the Internet
- 26:20Speaker 2: is a good and a bad thing.
- 26:22Speaker 5: Uh.
- 26:23Speaker 2: There's a lot of brain rotten, crazy shit on the
- 26:25Speaker 2: Internet that fucks up our kids and you know, lowers
- 26:28Speaker 2: our society. But the good thing about the Internet is
- 26:31Speaker 2: that there has been we got to see people are
- 26:34Speaker 2: able to see what's going on in Gaza, right a transparency. Yeah,
- 26:37Speaker 2: people are able to see some of these videos from
- 26:40Speaker 2: some of these minds in the Congo where you're like,
- 26:41Speaker 2: wait a minute, there's like a lady with three kids
- 26:44Speaker 2: on her back while she's working you know, eighteen hour days, Like, yeah,
- 26:48Speaker 2: this is insane.
- 26:49Speaker 1: It really exposes the mistreatment of human beings for sure.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like a good and it's like there's a
- 26:54Speaker 2: gift of the curse. Yeah, the gift and the curse
- 26:56Speaker 2: for sure, Yo is there is there a new or
- 27:00Speaker 2: artists that you're a fan of that you would like
- 27:02Speaker 2: to work with that you're just you've been paying attention to.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I've kindly, I've worked with man. I don't know if
- 27:09Speaker 1: there's one artist specific though, that I said to myself,
- 27:12Speaker 1: this kid got something crazy and I would definitely be
- 27:15Speaker 1: an honor to work with him. And that's Friday.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Friday's fire.
- 27:18Speaker 1: I love Friday. I think out of all the newest
- 27:21Speaker 1: artists that I've seen so far, he's the one that
- 27:24Speaker 1: I would say, Okay, I can count him in to
- 27:26Speaker 1: be around for a little while.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got in the same way you do. That
- 27:30Speaker 2: kid's special, a very unique tone and voice. Yes, because
- 27:33Speaker 2: a lot at the end of the day with auto tune,
- 27:35Speaker 2: like so many people kind of sound like similar, but
- 27:37Speaker 2: Friday's voice.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Yeah, he's different. Yeah, he's different.
- 27:40Speaker 4: Yeah for sure.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Have you reached out at all?
- 27:43Speaker 1: Yeah, we spoke, Yeah, we reached out.
- 27:45Speaker 2: That would be hard, Yeah, Yeah, you got so much
- 27:47Speaker 2: going on in country album, hopefully a Tea Paint album.
- 27:49Speaker 2: You and T Paint got to make that happen.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Oh no, it's one hundred percent coming. You know, you'll
- 27:54Speaker 1: be the first I now sent on you.
- 27:56Speaker 4: That's big for the court.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Speaking of super Bow, would you think of super Bow
- 28:00Speaker 2: have time show with Kendrick? I thought it was I
- 28:01Speaker 2: thought it was a.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Piece of art. Man to me, I loved it. I
- 28:03Speaker 1: loved it. I loved the way Kendrick, you know, put
- 28:06Speaker 1: it together. I love the simpleness of it and the
- 28:08Speaker 1: dynamics of those little you know, uh you can say
- 28:12Speaker 1: eight coins that they put.
- 28:13Speaker 2: In there, ye a little like Yeah, there was like
- 28:15Speaker 2: very you know what I mean.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I love there was a piece of art, especially for
- 28:18Speaker 1: what Kendrick does and how it was wrapped around his truth.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I think it made all the sense in the world,
- 28:22Speaker 1: to be honest.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw people complaining he didn't do some of
- 28:25Speaker 2: his bigger songs. I'm like, it wasn't about that. It
- 28:27Speaker 2: was it was about presenting a piece of art.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Absolutely. It was not about the songs, because the songs
- 28:32Speaker 1: you can play right after super Bowl, but it's like,
- 28:34Speaker 1: what what is the message? And I think people forget that.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Yeah, crazy to think like the stadium like he's doing
- 28:39Speaker 2: stadiums with Sizza and I mean Kendrick for for better
- 28:44Speaker 2: or worse, like the whole entire like obviously the beef
- 28:46Speaker 2: to me was great for hip hop. I mean shit,
- 28:50Speaker 2: Drake's doing fine. No Kiy is on fire, but it's
- 28:53Speaker 2: been dope to see, Like, damn, there's a hip hop
- 28:55Speaker 2: artist doing stadiums right Like, that's crazy. Chris Brown is
- 28:59Speaker 2: doing stadiums right now. Shots to Chris Breeze, he celebrate
- 29:01Speaker 2: twenty years.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Chris, Chris definitely deserves it.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I tell people, Chris Brown is our Michael Jackson, Like,
- 29:08Speaker 2: without a question. I think he's one of the most
- 29:10Speaker 2: talented human beings ever walked the face of there.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I promise you he is.
- 29:14Speaker 2: And when it comes to longevity, when it comes to
- 29:18Speaker 2: talent and just music records, he's our MJ without a question.
- 29:23Speaker 2: And it sucks because it's like one mistake always like well,
- 29:27Speaker 2: like it kind of prevents people like to acknowledge that.
- 29:29Speaker 2: But stop playing with.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Chris Brown, can't You can't man that, boys.
- 29:32Speaker 2: This guy's one of the greatest of all time. He's
- 29:34Speaker 2: on one of the greatest. Shout to Chris Breezy, man
- 29:38Speaker 2: big shots. Yeah, I gotta get to that that stadium show.
- 29:40Speaker 2: I think it's like him, Bryce and Tiller and Summer Walker. Yeah,
- 29:44Speaker 2: something like that, right, yeah, it should be dope. Uh,
- 29:47Speaker 2: any other investments you got work? I know, the last
- 29:49Speaker 2: time you're here talked about the Godfather's feech. So you're
- 29:50Speaker 2: working on anything else you got cooking?
- 29:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean right now, you know, we've got the
- 29:53Speaker 1: new album coming out, Not Guilty, that I'm really really
- 29:56Speaker 1: excited about.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Not Guilty. That's a great name.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gonna be nice.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't wait to hear that. And then this
- 30:01Speaker 2: jelly roll song.
- 30:05Speaker 1: That man right there put that together. If you hear
- 30:07Speaker 1: it is because it gave me the idea.
- 30:09Speaker 2: There it is. It is so Not Guilty. You're wrapping
- 30:12Speaker 2: that up.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm wrapping that up currently now. Never really matter
- 30:14Speaker 1: at the first single that, I mean, second single that
- 30:16Speaker 1: dropped off of it, we just dropped last week, is
- 30:18Speaker 1: doing really really well.
- 30:19Speaker 2: And so it's crazy too because the first single, Beautiful Day,
- 30:22Speaker 2: is like an older.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Song, Yeah, that like leaked. I had leaked and ended
- 30:25Speaker 1: up ended up redoing it just to put it back
- 30:27Speaker 1: out of the marketplace.
- 30:28Speaker 2: And then this newer record is a new record.
- 30:30Speaker 1: It's a brand new record. Its featured Sime as a
- 30:31Speaker 1: new girl group that I'm about to present and I'm
- 30:33Speaker 1: introducing them to the world on this record. That's the
- 30:36Speaker 1: ones on the choruses.
- 30:37Speaker 2: That's dope.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Yeah, they're killing it.
- 30:38Speaker 2: You're still actively with.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Now now I'm signing artists like it and
- 30:43Speaker 1: know tomorrow. Yeah, we're going super stupid. I'm signing artists producers.
- 30:48Speaker 1: We just picked up press Play, who's one of the
- 30:50Speaker 1: lead producers that we just picked up recently Monster.
- 30:53Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean you're one of the most prolific
- 30:56Speaker 2: CEOs ever if you think about all the people who
- 30:58Speaker 2: came through your label.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Man, Man, we just I'm just happy to be a
- 31:00Speaker 1: part of, you know, being a contribution to the culture. Man,
- 31:03Speaker 1: that's I'm happy enough for that for sure.
- 31:05Speaker 2: How many Lady Got albums came out through Convict.
- 31:08Speaker 1: The first it was the first, It was the first two,
- 31:14Speaker 1: the first the first two was mine, and then I
- 31:18Speaker 1: was in collaboration with the third one, and then I
- 31:20Speaker 1: was out by the time the next ones came out.
- 31:22Speaker 4: Wow. Yeah, those checks still coming in.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it's still working. Yeah, he's still working.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Still feeding you got like poker Face was like on
- 31:30Speaker 2: the first album.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the first album. The first album was
- 31:32Speaker 1: the biggest album. Yeah, that was the one that gave
- 31:34Speaker 1: her all the accolades.
- 31:37Speaker 2: It's crazy too, because like the dynamic between like a
- 31:40Speaker 2: song like just dance her first song You're on, and
- 31:42Speaker 2: then drast forward to like some of her other ships,
- 31:44Speaker 2: like yeah, this girl so just an alien man shot her?
- 31:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, she's she's one of She's brilliant. Man.
- 31:49Speaker 2: When was that time you guys have talked to her
- 31:50Speaker 2: ran into her?
- 31:51Speaker 1: That's about it's about probably been about I would say
- 31:54Speaker 1: part of a year. Yeah, I think it's part of years.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I think it was one of her shows. I went
- 31:58Speaker 1: and saw her backstage, said, hello, a brief it's been
- 32:01Speaker 1: about a year.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Was there any what was it? What was it about
- 32:03Speaker 2: her that you heard or saw that you were like,
- 32:06Speaker 2: we got to figure this out.
- 32:08Speaker 4: I can help you out.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I don't see how anybody could have seen her and
- 32:11Speaker 1: not see it, Like she was a star off the gate,
- 32:14Speaker 1: and then her talent as a songwriter, as a performer,
- 32:17Speaker 1: and then she had her own style, like nobody looked
- 32:20Speaker 1: like her, and she was so fearless, like willing to
- 32:22Speaker 1: do things that no other artists would do. But most importantly,
- 32:25Speaker 1: she had such a hard working like she's she's like
- 32:29Speaker 1: she's a I mean her, her work ethic was just unmatchable.
- 32:34Speaker 1: She kept up with me, and that's when I knew
- 32:35Speaker 1: she could work.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I can only imagine.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Was there ever an artist that was close to signing
- 32:39Speaker 2: a convict that for whatever reason you missed out on
- 32:41Speaker 2: or just didn't work out.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Oh, it's just a lot of I will be here
- 32:44Speaker 1: all day.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Give me one.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I will be here all day.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Can you give me one?
- 32:49Speaker 1: Yeah? But they too popular now and I don't want
- 32:50Speaker 1: to take that glory away from them. I had a
- 32:53Speaker 1: chance to sign the first What about someone who wasn't popular,
- 32:57Speaker 1: who wasn't popular.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Work out?
- 33:00Speaker 1: Because you've had, like, well, the one, the one, the
- 33:03Speaker 1: one that I did I think was going to be
- 33:06Speaker 1: really really big that I till this day believe it
- 33:10Speaker 1: could have been. I just don't know. What didn't click
- 33:12Speaker 1: was Red Cafe.
- 33:13Speaker 2: I was about to say, you had Red Cafe.
- 33:15Speaker 1: He was the one that I just knew was gonna
- 33:16Speaker 1: be bigger.
- 33:17Speaker 2: And Red Cafe ended up signing with everybody. Yeah, he
- 33:21Speaker 2: ended up. I think he was with cash money for
- 33:22Speaker 2: a little bit, right he left.
- 33:23Speaker 1: You after what happened was when he was with me.
- 33:26Speaker 1: I ended up doing the joint venture with Diddy with him,
- 33:30Speaker 1: so then it was me and Diddy. Haven't read. And
- 33:33Speaker 1: then after he left that situation, he went on to
- 33:35Speaker 1: do other things.
- 33:36Speaker 2: But very talented guy.
- 33:37Speaker 1: No, oh my god, Red, it is so fucking dope. Yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 1: he was so dope. But I think at that time
- 33:43Speaker 1: he was young, he didn't really have the patience that
- 33:46Speaker 1: it took to develop him globally because he wanted and
- 33:50Speaker 1: he all he cared about at that time was New York.
- 33:52Speaker 1: He's wanted New York to love him.
- 33:53Speaker 2: And you know who figured that out quickly was Floder. Yeah,
- 33:57Speaker 2: because floor Rider was like an underground Florida rapperd that
- 34:00Speaker 2: Birthday song. And then as soon as he figured out
- 34:03Speaker 2: that global ship, he hit the switch and turned it,
- 34:07Speaker 2: you know the black pit Bull.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Flow figured it out real quick.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Well, he figured that ship he's gonna eat forever.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Flow figured that out real quick. I was actually
- 34:17Speaker 1: the first one to take him international and open that
- 34:20Speaker 1: open his eyes up to what that was. And interesting enough,
- 34:22Speaker 1: I was the first to take pit Bull international two.
- 34:25Speaker 1: That's why it's my brother till this.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Day, pit Bull man Il Pitt.
- 34:29Speaker 1: What he's done with his career man unbelievable.
- 34:32Speaker 2: The greatest person to ever pull up No one's ever
- 34:35Speaker 2: pulled off the white pants like him. He got that
- 34:39Speaker 2: white pants.
- 34:40Speaker 1: On Lone Pitt. That's that Cuban saying.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Speaking of guys who could do Super Bowls, Yeah, this
- 34:45Speaker 2: guy's just got two hours straight ahead rack.
- 34:46Speaker 1: He's another one that could do Super Bowl easy.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Yeah, shout out to pit bull Man.
- 34:50Speaker 2: And then you worked with wiz Kid a little bit
- 34:51Speaker 2: early on.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Ye whiz was my first afrobeat artist and I signed
- 34:54Speaker 1: back in two thousand and eight.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Yeah, damn two thousand and eight.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Yeah, we actually developed the whole afrobeat saying, that's crazy
- 34:59Speaker 1: sound seen everything.
- 35:01Speaker 2: It's got to be cool to kind of see it
- 35:03Speaker 2: grow into like this global.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Yeah, No, it's amazing, but I mean it was Excuse me,
- 35:06Speaker 1: it was hard work though, trying to get just the
- 35:09Speaker 1: US labels to even understand what it was because at
- 35:11Speaker 1: the time they thought it was reggae, right, So as
- 35:13Speaker 1: I'm shopping him, shopping, David Ough, shopping all these artists
- 35:16Speaker 1: I had Peace Square at the time that I was
- 35:17Speaker 1: also trying to shop on the side, it was like
- 35:20Speaker 1: they didn't understand what it was.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Have you ever connected with David Oh's dad. Uh Yeah,
- 35:24Speaker 2: because his dad is his dad is very very wealthy.
- 35:26Speaker 2: He's in the oil and gas. Yeah, him and I
- 35:28Speaker 2: were talking. His dad has helped with I think he's
- 35:32Speaker 2: providing like fifteen percent of the electricity in Nigeria.
- 35:35Speaker 1: He's a big dog over.
- 35:37Speaker 2: There, big dog, big dog. I feel like, if you're
- 35:39Speaker 2: going to create a city, you got to tap in
- 35:40Speaker 2: with David Oh's dad a little.
- 35:42Speaker 1: In Nigeria. You can't move it out talking to David
- 35:44Speaker 1: Thoh's dad, I mean, I wouldn't. You wouldn't be smart
- 35:46Speaker 1: if you try to go around right. And he's not
- 35:49Speaker 1: as he's a good man, but he believes in the youth.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Like if he sees something that's worth investing in, he
- 35:55Speaker 1: will definitely invest.
- 35:56Speaker 2: I love that. Yeah, it's been dope to just see, like,
- 35:58Speaker 2: like you said, a lot of people you know. So
- 36:01Speaker 2: I think back to the dance hall ship where there
- 36:03Speaker 2: was that wave where Sean Paul broke through and it
- 36:05Speaker 2: became like pop, but it was dance hall. It was
- 36:07Speaker 2: dance hall, right, and it's like now with like Afrobeat.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Took that, but they just burn.
- 36:11Speaker 2: A boy has broken through on broken level. Whiz Kid
- 36:14Speaker 2: has broken through on that level, and it's like and
- 36:16Speaker 2: then there's been like specific records, rama and you know,
- 36:18Speaker 2: certain things like that, but it's been dope to see
- 36:20Speaker 2: for sure. Absolutely, man, Yeah, it's it's it's not like
- 36:23Speaker 2: a new genre either, like no.
- 36:24Speaker 1: No, it's been Yeah, it's it's been around for a minute.
- 36:27Speaker 2: What has been your coolest live performance moment where you
- 36:32Speaker 2: were just like this is crazy. There's amount of like
- 36:34Speaker 2: whether it's the amount of people, whether it was maybe who
- 36:36Speaker 2: was in the crowd, like you're your craziest show.
- 36:39Speaker 1: My craziest shows. I would definitely say it was in Africa.
- 36:44Speaker 1: It's like I don't even know how to start to
- 36:50Speaker 1: explain it, Like right, it's it's it's a different type
- 36:53Speaker 1: of mania over there. And I feel like a rock
- 36:56Speaker 1: and roll star when I'm on that side because I
- 36:58Speaker 1: can jump off the top speaker into the crowd to
- 37:00Speaker 1: know they're gonna kiss me, right, you know what I mean?
- 37:03Speaker 2: Like it's that shit, like I could you could crowd surf.
- 37:05Speaker 2: They got you one hundred percent, that's fire. Yea. Was
- 37:08Speaker 2: there ever a record of yours that you gave away
- 37:12Speaker 2: because because it helped me understand like when you're doing
- 37:15Speaker 2: all these hooks whether it's Soul survivor, whether it's I
- 37:17Speaker 2: mean any millions.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Of hooks you did for people?
- 37:19Speaker 2: Were you sending these out or were artists sending you beats?
- 37:23Speaker 2: And then you would like, because I'm I'm assuming you
- 37:25Speaker 2: just had ship too where you were like, oh, so
- 37:27Speaker 2: and so was working on an album, let's send them
- 37:29Speaker 2: over a few to choose from.
- 37:30Speaker 1: So at that time, in my peer everything that you
- 37:32Speaker 1: heard me or I produced, because I was a producer first,
- 37:35Speaker 1: then song write a second.
- 37:36Speaker 2: So so did you produce a Survivor? Oh shit, yep,
- 37:39Speaker 2: crazy record produced that one.
- 37:41Speaker 1: That's one of the records that I Afterwards, I was like, damn,
- 37:43Speaker 1: I should have kept this one. But then I realized, nah,
- 37:47Speaker 1: I wouldn't have been the same if it was just me, Well,
- 37:49Speaker 1: anybody else wouldn't have did it the way Jeezi did it.
- 37:51Speaker 2: And that record is what broke Jezi through because because
- 37:55Speaker 2: uh and then what was was like his first single
- 37:57Speaker 2: off that album?
- 37:58Speaker 1: I think, yeah, that was that was his first break.
- 37:59Speaker 2: But but Soul Survivor was like the record that changed everything.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that changed it changed the direction to where he
- 38:05Speaker 1: was going. Because one thing about Jeezy, he was probably
- 38:08Speaker 1: the first artist that I can ever remember that became
- 38:11Speaker 1: a household name of Atlanta through it just a mixtape. Yes,
- 38:14Speaker 1: Like his mixtape would play from top to bottom, the
- 38:16Speaker 1: whole mixtape in the club. They never would play just
- 38:19Speaker 1: one Jes song. They would play his whole mixtape. Yeah,
- 38:22Speaker 1: like literally like it was. It was unbelievable.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Was there ever one of your records that you did
- 38:30Speaker 2: keep that almost with someone else's?
- 38:33Speaker 1: Which record that I kept? That was almost? Oh yeah,
- 38:37Speaker 1: I want to love you. Because so when I originally
- 38:40Speaker 1: did it, I did it for Trick Daddy originally, and
- 38:43Speaker 1: I sent it off the Trick Daddy and then somehow
- 38:46Speaker 1: Plies got a hold of it, add his verses on it,
- 38:49Speaker 1: leaked it, and then it was a big old controversy
- 38:53Speaker 1: with the with the label and everything else. Then we
- 38:54Speaker 1: went back and snatched the record, I added my verses
- 38:58Speaker 1: on it and put Snoop on it, and then we
- 38:59Speaker 1: put it out. Such a big song, such a big song,
- 39:02Speaker 1: but that shit went through a ringer.
- 39:03Speaker 2: So there was like this damn, I guess this is
- 39:06Speaker 2: probably like this is prior before like the internet was
- 39:08Speaker 2: like super super crazy. So there's a Plies version of
- 39:10Speaker 2: that song that's out there.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that was the Plais version was the biggest
- 39:13Speaker 1: version in Florida at that time.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Wow.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Plis man, he killed that ship.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Damn.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and it was I just thanks to Plies, we
- 39:21Speaker 1: knew that record was a hit because his version had
- 39:23Speaker 1: already popped off and.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Were like, nigga, I'm talking to put snoop on this exactly.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Yeah. So if for one of Plies, I wouldn't even
- 39:31Speaker 1: know that record was a smash.
- 39:32Speaker 2: That's the kind of record too, where you're like the
- 39:33Speaker 2: O G version, You're like, we gotta recut this whole
- 39:36Speaker 2: thing because it's not gonna work at radio. That was
- 39:38Speaker 2: what I want to fuck you. It's just not gonna work.
- 39:41Speaker 2: I want to love you.
- 39:43Speaker 1: That works perfectly for radio.
- 39:44Speaker 4: Damn.
- 39:44Speaker 2: That's crazy man, that's a great record. What was it
- 39:46Speaker 2: like working with Minem.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Ohm was amazing. Him taught me a lot. He made
- 39:50Speaker 1: me kind of I think it was working with him
- 39:51Speaker 1: that helped me separate the industry form my life because
- 39:56Speaker 1: he was the first person through not teaching me it,
- 39:59Speaker 1: but watching him taught me that you gotta have moments
- 40:02Speaker 1: for your life, Like music can't be your life twenty
- 40:06Speaker 1: four hours a day.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he's very it feels like he seven rates the two.
- 40:10Speaker 1: No, he did it, And I was like, whoa, because
- 40:12Speaker 1: when I went to go work with him, the nigga
- 40:14Speaker 1: took he took a break for lunch, went to lunch,
- 40:18Speaker 1: came back like it was a job.
- 40:19Speaker 4: Job.
- 40:19Speaker 1: At five pm, the nigga was gone. I couldn't find him.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I'm looking everywhere for the studio, Like he went home.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I said, what why so early? Oh, he goes. He
- 40:26Speaker 1: goes home every day at five pm. That's that's his
- 40:29Speaker 1: cut off. And mind you, while he goes home, I'm
- 40:31Speaker 1: in the studio all night till he returns the next day.
- 40:34Speaker 1: He's looking at me like, nigga, you're still here?
- 40:36Speaker 2: Yeah, And I'm like, yeah, this made a smack that session.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Smack that session crazy damn. And you're one of like
- 40:45Speaker 2: obviously like that's that's uh. Not everybody getting the eminem verse. Man, No,
- 40:50Speaker 2: that was a tough thing to get.
- 40:51Speaker 1: I know that was a special moment when I got it.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's also all time great.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Uh if you go to a white bar, oh yeah,
- 40:59Speaker 4: that record is just the whites love smack that dude,
- 41:01Speaker 4: They love it.
- 41:03Speaker 1: No, you have no idea, want no you have an idea?
- 41:09Speaker 2: Yeah? All right, So new album coming out soon. You're
- 41:12Speaker 2: oh about about nine finishing touches going on it, right?
- 41:16Speaker 1: She touches right now, mixes masters, all that never really
- 41:20Speaker 1: mad at future. The Simians is out currently right now
- 41:22Speaker 1: doing amazing. Uh.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Then a whole other album coming out with a bunch
- 41:25Speaker 2: of features.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Whole of the album after this album, but that'd be
- 41:28Speaker 1: a different, different.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Conversation, and then the country stuff and then the country
