- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Fierazzo.
- 0:20Good day, happy new year, friends.
- 0:22God bless you.
- 0:23Thank you so much for tuning in for sharing the podcast.
- 0:27We've had an amazing year, actually, we just started last September, but wow, it's
- 0:31just, in fact, you know what?
- 0:32I want to thank some friends.
- 0:33I've got John Haller coming up.
- 0:34We're going to talk about Bible prophecy and a lot of important issues and how Christians
- 0:39can respond to them.
- 0:42But I want to thank some friends who I didn't get chance to thank yet that have been donating
- 0:45to World View Matters, were a nonprofit.
- 0:49And John and Rachel from Cody, Wyoming.
- 0:52God bless you guys.
- 0:53Thank you.
- 0:55Jeannie Nagro from Green Bay, Wisconsin, Alan Butterworth from Kent, Washington, and
- 1:01Michael Headman, San Diego, California.
- 1:04So we're moving up in the world.
- 1:06We've got Wyoming, Washington now, New Mexico, Georgia, Wisconsin, New York, Nebraska,
- 1:13South Dakota, Minnesota, Virginia, Iowa, South Carolina.
- 1:17And I'm going to bug John Haller because I don't see Ohio on the list.
- 1:21Anyway, John is with Fellowship Bible Chapel.
- 1:24He's been on many times with us.
- 1:26Good to have you back, brother.
- 1:27Happy New Year.
- 1:28Happy New Year to you too, David.
- 1:30All right.
- 1:31So I'm going to get to that.
- 1:32What's going on in Ohio?
- 1:33Why don't we hear from people in Ohio?
- 1:34But I want to, first of all, mention to people to go to your Fellowship Bible Chapel YouTube
- 1:39channel and that's FBC Fellowship Bible Chapel and subscribed to your prophecy updates.
- 1:46So John, right out of the gate, we're going to talk about Israel, the Middle East, the
- 1:50UN and all things that are happening geopolitically.
- 1:53But what the heck happened with the vote in Ohio when they're supporting murdering the pre-born
- 2:00in mother's womb?
- 2:01What's going on?
- 2:02I thought Ohio was kind of like a, I don't know, used to be a red state, give us your
- 2:05perspective.
- 2:06Well, it's largely a red state except for the urban areas, Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland.
- 2:12That's the population.
- 2:14And Toledo's, yeah.
- 2:16But the outline count, it's much like the rest of America.
- 2:19It's the urban areas that lean democratic.
- 2:21It's the outline areas that lean Republican.
- 2:25So I live in Delaware County, which is just north of Columbus, it's what it's been for
- 2:30a while, one of the fastest growing counties in the country and with all the big tech investment,
- 2:35which is probably going to end up being about $150 billion over the next five years of construction
- 2:42cost.
- 2:43Wow.
- 2:44That's going on in Lakeing County to the east of us, but a lot of people are moving up
- 2:47here.
- 2:48They don't have construction all over the place.
- 2:51It's, it's really kind of unbelievable.
- 2:53They're telling us we need 70 to 80,000 new homes.
- 2:59But the problem, David, is that in the tech industry, it's not people who have a biblical
- 3:04worldview.
- 3:05Yeah.
- 3:06So last spring, the Republicans saw this coming and they thought while we have the ability
- 3:13to restrict abortions in Ohio, it was a heartbeat law.
- 3:18So essentially up to six weeks, you could get an abortion.
- 3:23And it passed.
- 3:24We have veto-proof majorities in both the House and Senate and a group, a guy who claims
- 3:29to be Republican, Michael DeWine, as they say, don't vote for DeWine.
- 3:34Maybe the DeWine has passed its age.
- 3:38Former center.
- 3:39He's in his seventies now.
- 3:40He's a nice guy, but he's from Cedarville, so he's down in that area, but we had, so
- 3:48we thought the Republicans thought they could get this through.
- 3:52So what they did was they wanted to put in place a constitutional amendment.
- 3:57We have one of those referendum statutes, a referendum part of the Constitution that if
- 4:04you get enough signatures from each voting district or county, you can get an initiative
- 4:11put on the ballot, which it gets a yes or no vote.
- 4:15And you can change the Constitution that way.
- 4:18And right now, you can do it with 50.0001% would approve it.
- 4:24So the Republicans tried to get it to where you had to have 60%.
- 4:29And I think that's good because the federal Constitution, you have to have two-thirds
- 4:33majority of the states or whatever the constitutional convention that might be had to change
- 4:39the U.S. Constitution.
- 4:40So changing the state Constitution should be a very big deal.
- 4:44Well that thing was passed, and so to vote for it, you had to vote yes on issue one last
- 4:55spring.
- 4:56It failed.
- 4:57It lost like 68% to 32%.
- 5:01Now that's the people, the people spoke.
- 5:04Yeah, they did.
- 5:05And a lot of it was because the thing was worded very broadly.
- 5:10It wasn't worded that well.
- 5:12And so when that amendment went down, well I'm sorry, the ad campaign attacked it like,
- 5:18oh, they're coming for us, they're coming for women and all this other stuff.
- 5:23And so when that lost, then the left immediately, and we knew this was what was going to happen.
- 5:28This is what everybody who knew anything about the constitutional amendment part.
- 5:33If it fails, they are coming in with abortion on demands.
- 5:39And it's going to be worded very, and it was worded very badly.
- 5:42Now the attorney general of the state of Ohio, Rick Yoast, who's a good Christian guy,
- 5:47he's challenging it in court, but given the composition of the courts anymore, and I graduated
- 5:56from law school in 1980, and it was bad enough then, let alone what it's like now with
- 6:00all the vocification that goes on in the law schools.
- 6:05So it came in and it essentially said abortion on demand up through the time of birth.
- 6:13That's what will be allowed.
- 6:15And so the heartbeat law is probably going to go away in the state of Ohio.
- 6:19And there are other states.
- 6:20I think Texas has their referendum thing to change the Constitution requires a 60% vote
- 6:26in favor of the new amendment or the changes to the Constitution.
- 6:31But now we're at 50 point zero, zero, zero.
- 6:34You get one more vote than the majority, and you win.
- 6:39And so here, even in my county, which is a red county law considered a harbinger of
- 6:45how well the Republicans are going to do in the state of Ohio, because they get such
- 6:49a big majority here, that what I would call the abortion amendment.
- 6:54So now it was so in the spring, you had to vote yes on issue one to prevent them from
- 6:59changing the Constitution.
- 7:01And the fall then it became you had to vote no on issue one to prevent them from changing
- 7:07the Constitution.
- 7:08So it was very confusing to a lot of people.
- 7:10I think that was intentional.
- 7:12And in my county, which is a long red county, Delaware County, it was about 65% in favor
- 7:22of the abortion of them.
- 7:24Wow.
- 7:25Wow.
- 7:26And so in the thing all said, right, right, so is that changing?
- 7:33Well, you know, Kansas was always red, except for the urban areas in the university towns
- 7:38where Kansas and Kansas state are.
- 7:41So they had an abortion amendment or referendum or something last year, last, I think last
- 7:48fall.
- 7:49And it passed like like 70% to 30%.
- 7:52That's Kansas.
- 7:54So in the spring.
- 7:56So this was one of the big, big deals of the year, David was the vote to overturn Roe
- 8:04versus weight.
- 8:07And the Casey versus Planned Parenthood decisions.
- 8:09Right.
- 8:10I remember Roe had been decided just a little bit before I started law school.
- 8:14And I remember my left wing constitutional law professor at Indiana University saying,
- 8:19you know, this is a stupid decision, it stinks, it's not constitutional.
- 8:25It's terrible.
- 8:26It needs to be overturned.
- 8:27Well, it took 50 years.
- 8:28So the problem that we had was 50 years of this being drummed down people's abortion
- 8:36on demand was okay, and it was the way to go.
- 8:40And it shows that what happened, I did an interview last week with John Luffler, I don't
- 8:45know if you know John.
- 8:46He used to do that show, yeah, he's kind of kind of retired, but I just neutral friend hooked
- 8:52us up.
- 8:53And it was a fascinating thing.
- 8:54But we talked about essentially what you would call, you know, Graham Shee and all these
- 8:58guys coming over and setting up these things in the universities at Columbia and other
- 9:04places, the long march through the institutions, Dewey and others, I have a friend, a close friend
- 9:11of Patrick Woods, and they've written on quite a bit.
- 9:15And they talk about, you know, this really started in the late 1800s and then the dollist
- 9:19brothers came in and they just said, this is not going to change in our lifetime.
- 9:24So we're going to march through the institutions, push technocracy, push Marxism, push socialism,
- 9:34push communism.
- 9:35I think Luffler said the difference between a communist and a socialist is the communist
- 9:40has guns.
- 9:43And otherwise, they're pretty much united ideologically.
- 9:46So it really came through the technocracy movement, came through largely Columbia University
- 9:54and some of the Ivy League schools.
- 9:57And you know, one of the big proponents of technocracy was a guy from Columbia named
- 10:01Brzezinski, who was a national security adviser under Carter, but also a guy that was involved
- 10:09in that was a guy named Henry Kissinger, who just, you know, within the last couple of
- 10:14weeks went to his eternal reward, hoping, I think it's okay to hope that he gets what he
- 10:21deserves, you know, or that he, that he doesn't get what he deserves, that would be a better
- 10:27hope.
- 10:28But you know, he died, he died at the age of a hundred and he was really very destructive
- 10:32to a lot of US foreign policy and relationships with China and that type of thing.
- 10:37So this has been a long march through the institutions.
- 10:41And I said in the spring, listen, we rent, we win, row is overturned, Casey versus
- 10:47playing parenthood is overturned, but that's not the end of it.
- 10:50That doesn't mean abortion is outlawed.
- 10:52That means it's a fight in the trenches on a state by state basis.
- 10:57And so we were never going to win the left, the left coast and the east coast.
- 11:01Right.
- 11:02Those were going to go pro-abortion, you know, Washington, Oregon, California.
- 11:07But here in the middle, you know, you thought, well, we had a chance.
- 11:10Well, Kansas seems to have caved and now Ohio.
- 11:13And it's, it's a very troubling thing that I think we see happening.
- 11:16So but I do think that that was really one of the bigger stories, one of the biggest
- 11:22stories of 2023.
- 11:25This is, we are in a cultural war.
- 11:28Yep.
- 11:29This is, I don't think this changes until the Lord gets back.
- 11:31I don't think.
- 11:33So with the way Ohio went, I told people, I think that what happens in Ohio on this amendment
- 11:39is a harbinger of the fall election in 2024, assuming we have one.
- 11:44Yes.
- 11:45And so I'm not, I'm not particularly optimistic the way it's going, even though you've
- 11:49got probably the weakest candidate in the history of the United States running for the
- 11:53Democrats.
- 11:54Yeah.
- 11:55And by the way, I hope the rest of America, the other states, at least the red states,
- 12:00so-called, learn from what happened in Ohio.
- 12:05And by the way, the money, it's just unbelievable how much money that planned parenthood.
- 12:10They got a raise since though the Biden administration came in.
- 12:14And they're getting more money.
- 12:15So just because Rovey Wade was overturned, they are now ramping it up.
- 12:21They're ramping up their game on the left.
- 12:23When we come back with John Haller, we're going to talk about rising persecution of Christians
- 12:28and incredible levels of anti-Semitism and what's happening worldwide.
- 12:33We'll get into some of that and what we can learn from last year on World View Matters.
- 12:38Today's show is brought to you by Harbinger's Daily.
- 12:41World News Biblically Understood.
- 12:44Stay informed at harbingerstaley.com.
- 12:54So John Haller, what happens in the UK doesn't stay in the UK.
- 13:00And we already know people are getting arrested in America for certain things that we never
- 13:05expected 50 years ago.
- 13:06But over in the UK, there's a new court case.
- 13:10A judge decided it's okay to criminalize prayer and reading from the Bible.
- 13:17If you're in a buffer zone surrounding an abortion clinic and tell us about this, and
- 13:22I know there's an article over at Hot Air as well, being Christian is becoming illegal
- 13:29in the UK.
- 13:30And that's growing around the world.
- 13:31So John, tell us your thoughts and where do you think this is headed?
- 13:34Well, I do think, and I notice the sponsor of your program is Harbinger's Daily, which
- 13:40I do read on a weekly basis, by the way.
- 13:43And so I approve of their mission and they note this.
- 13:48You note this on your program all the time.
- 13:51This is a cultural war that we're in.
- 13:53And abortion is sort of the tip of the spear, I guess, on everything.
- 13:58So in the UK, I remember seeing the videos of this lady.
- 14:02She was standing outside a abortion clinic with her head bowed and they came and they
- 14:08are you praying?
- 14:10And she goes, well, I'm praying in my spirit.
- 14:15And they arrested her.
- 14:17Prank silently.
- 14:18The same thing is happening here in the United States.
- 14:21If you remember back in Philadelphia, there was a group of Christians who went and prayed
- 14:26outside an abortion clinic.
- 14:27They weren't blocking access to anything, they weren't yelling and screaming at the women
- 14:33who were going on in to get abortions.
- 14:36And by the way, it's a time when people are really struggling that I think they need
- 14:42to have full information about the decision that they've made.
- 14:45I have a very good friend who's a very well-known pastor and his grandfather was adopted
- 14:54because the mother was stopped by someone, a Christian who said, you look like you're
- 15:00having problems.
- 15:01She was on her way to have an abortion clinic, she had like three other kids in the clock
- 15:05car.
- 15:06She gave up the child for abortion and now this beautiful young lady is this pastor's
- 15:11granddaughter.
- 15:13And so this is an important time.
- 15:15So in America, they were praying outside the abortion clinic, not blocking anybody and
- 15:18they were arrested by this, I don't know, I don't really know how else to say it is this
- 15:23criminal Biden administration and the Justice Department has been weaponized.
- 15:29And if you remember, one of the guys who has seven or eight kids, they sent a SWAT team
- 15:34to his house at 5 a.m. in the morning.
- 15:37They show up with long rifles pointing at the kids and all this other stuff and they
- 15:42arrested.
- 15:43He went to trial by the way and he was found not guilty in 15 minutes.
- 15:47Now I'm a trial lawyer by training and I can tell you that just to get the jury back
- 15:54to the room to make sure they have everything in the room and to figure out the order of
- 15:59what things like who gets orders the coffee and who goes to the bathroom first.
- 16:05That takes at least 15 minutes.
- 16:06So if they're coming back with a verdict in 15 minutes, it means the defense did not
- 16:10prove its case.
- 16:11But then they went against some of the other people or seven or eight of them and they
- 16:14were found guilty and I think in Philadelphia.
- 16:18And one of them was this woman who'd been arrested in this sort of a SWAT style, right?
- 16:23She's an 85 year old grandmother.
- 16:26Yeah.
- 16:27And now she faces up to 11 years in prison in America.
- 16:33Yeah.
- 16:34America with a K.
- 16:35Yeah.
- 16:36And so David, that's another big story of the year.
- 16:38So there's persecution of Christians and I think it's coming.
- 16:44And what we see now, you know, we can argue whether you like the way he conducts himself
- 16:49all the time in President Trump.
- 16:52But President Trump is kind of out there on the leading edge with the what I would call
- 16:56the law fair that's being put out against Christians.
- 16:59Yeah.
- 17:01I am telling you, David, I've been a lawyer for a long time and sometimes as a lawyer,
- 17:06you have to go into court to defend your client, take kind of a ridiculous position, you
- 17:12know, and try to sound confident about it.
- 17:14It's just the way our system works.
- 17:16But the stuff they're doing to Trump in New York and elsewhere on some of these things,
- 17:20it's clearly election interference, which can't call it election interference, even
- 17:26though it is election interference.
- 17:28And so, and in its very, very expensive, so they charged like in the disputes over the
- 17:352020 election, a lot of lawyers that represented Trump got charged, they, a lot of them have
- 17:43pled guilty just because they were being bankrupted, it mean it costs hundreds of thousands
- 17:50to millions of dollars in attorney's fees.
- 17:53And I'm not riping about attorney's fees as an attorney, I love attorney's fees, particularly
- 17:58big ones.
- 18:00But it's bankrupting people to defend themselves in court because you lose, you don't get
- 18:04your, or you win and you're found at guilty, you don't get your money back, you're bankrupt.
- 18:09So we see this case right now, it gets really Giuliani from a couple of the election officials
- 18:14in Georgia.
- 18:16And they said, well, Giuliani, defamed us so that I don't know if you heard about this,
- 18:20this case went to trial.
- 18:22And the judge said, you defame them, you don't get to put any defense.
- 18:26And if you say anything, I'm going to hold you in contempt.
- 18:30And so the way you calculate damages is, you know, you have to, what did you lose?
- 18:35So let's say you lose your job and you're making $50,000 a year and you're going to lose
- 18:41your job for 20 years, you can calculate what the present value of that loss is.
- 18:48These election people in Georgia were awarded.
- 18:51And by the way, they didn't try the case in Georgia.
- 18:54They tried, they filed the case in Washington, DC because you know, that's where you're
- 18:59going to get the most unfair jury against somebody like Giuliani or Trump.
- 19:04The verdict was $148 million.
- 19:09Now, you know, David, I did some medical malpractice and personal injury stuff.
- 19:13And I would have cases occasionally where I was defending a company that had was alleged
- 19:19to have done something that resulted in somebody being a quadriplegic who required round
- 19:23the clock nursing care for the rest of their lives.
- 19:27And in those cases, you know, 20 years ago, you would have, you could put $20 million
- 19:34in damages on the board.
- 19:36You could count, and I just don't understand how you get $146 million.
- 19:40So this is what I think people need to understand is, and again, one of the biggest stories of
- 19:46the year, they're not just coming for former president Trump.
- 19:51They're coming for all of us, if we disagree.
- 19:55They have set up, and I guess this would be a related, another stored big story of the
- 19:59year, is the way they've weaponized the technology against people that disagree with
- 20:05them.
- 20:06Yes.
- 20:07So I think we're going to have to talk about these organizations that track what you say,
- 20:12and they're able to go in and they're able to get you banned from social media.
- 20:15I mean, look, how many years have we been talking about the fact that, you know, if you say
- 20:20the wrong thing on YouTube, Google will shut you down.
- 20:25And it's, it's very interesting.
- 20:27It's, and we'll talk, I think, in another program, maybe about AI.
- 20:30But yeah, you know what, John, can I interject something here?
- 20:33You're absolutely right.
- 20:35And they've been doing that to Christians and Conservatives already for almost a decade.
- 20:39The first interview that I had last year, the first interview with for my brand new book,
- 20:44a salt on the image of God, was with JB Hickson.
- 20:48YouTube deleted it.
- 20:50YouTube deleted it within three hours.
- 20:53Was it on your channel or on JB's channel?
- 20:57The audio was on his, was it Apple Spotify podcast?
- 21:02The video was on my YouTube and they deleted it.
- 21:06They just said it violated community standards.
- 21:09So this is the biblical worldview being censored in America.
- 21:13So yeah, a lot of us understand.
- 21:16It's happened to us.
- 21:17Go ahead.
- 21:18But you could talk about, well, here's an example of persecution.
- 21:22So the, with the thing going on in Israel right now, anti-Semitism, and I think you're
- 21:27going to see, there's a synergy between anti-Semitism and Christian persecution.
- 21:35They're sort of inextricably woven together.
- 21:38So as Israel, they had, everybody was a lot of people, most people were in favor of Israel
- 21:44when they first went in, but that changed in a week.
- 21:47Now everybody's coming out against Israel and we saw this debacle around the, I don't
- 21:53know, 6th, 7th of December in Congress where the three Ivy League, well, MIT, Penn and
- 21:59Harvard presidents, all females went in and they were asked questions about whether this
- 22:05was anti-Semitism or this was against their policy and they would not say no.
- 22:11Now the Penn president has resigned, but remember it was Penn that had a boy pretending
- 22:17to be a girl swimming in NCAA female swimming events, winning the events, just crushing
- 22:24the opposition.
- 22:26And I would, I would dare say, in fact, I could say with 100% certainty that if I had been
- 22:32on the Penn campus and criticized that as a professor or a student, I would have been
- 22:38expelled as a student or fired as a professor or suspended and she could not say calling
- 22:43for the genocide of Jews and Intifada, which clearly means that was anti-Semitic.
- 22:50So there's, it is hypocrisy on an epic scale.
- 22:53I've often said if a hypocrisy was water, the world would drown.
- 22:57But I think we're going to see more of this and I think Christians need to prepare their
- 23:01minds and hearts for this because I think more persecution is coming.
- 23:05I just, I just don't see how it rolls back at this point.
- 23:08Yeah, I'm going to talk to Andy Woods tomorrow about the world against Israel and that being
- 23:12prophetic, actually.
- 23:13But John, we've only got a couple minutes left looking back at 2023.
- 23:19Obviously the story, October 7, the demonic attacks by Hamas against Israel, one of the
- 23:25biggest stories in our lifetime, at least of the year, is there another story or issue
- 23:31that you're concerned about as we are into a new year?
- 23:35Well, I do think this development of artificial intelligence and where it's going is a very,
- 23:40very big deal.
- 23:43So and that kind of ties into the Israel thing because one of the ways to prevent that
- 23:47is artificial intelligence.
- 23:49And so artificial intelligence, though David, it's going to, it's going to affect every
- 23:54part of our lives and it's not going to be rural path.
- 23:57It's not, nobody is regulating it.
- 24:01They talk about regulating it, but it's already gone too far.
- 24:06And this ties a lot of end time issues together, I think.
- 24:10Well, you're talking about digital IDs, social credit scores, stuff that China is doing,
- 24:15really coming to America, rising mark of the beast technology, any closing thoughts on
- 24:20that, John, before we wrap up?
- 24:23Well, what we need to understand, I think, when we talk about the culture and we talk
- 24:30about AI, AI has a religion behind it.
- 24:33You've all heard of eight, nine years ago at Silicon Valley at a speech and at the beginning
- 24:38of the speech is that I love coming to Silicon Valley because it is here that the religions
- 24:43that will control humanity in the 21st century are being created.
- 24:47So everybody has a religion.
- 24:50And so what that tells you and what's going on, I think somebody described the cultural
- 24:54battle over this gender identity thing in the pronouns as a battle for, a battle for control
- 25:06of the dictionary.
- 25:08And I thought that was very prescient in what they said.
- 25:11So I think it's coming.
- 25:13We just need to understand, like it says in Ephesians chapter six, that this is a spiritual
- 25:18battle at its core.
- 25:19Amen.
- 25:20And we need the solution is to put on the whole armor of God.
- 25:26And so we need, and it's something you need to do daily as a Christian.
- 25:30And I think we need to expect more of this in the future.
- 25:32Yes.
- 25:33And as we know, the spiritual forces of darkness, they are moving and what happens?
- 25:38That materializes in the natural because Satan uses human minions, right?
- 25:45He's got disciples, like we're to make disciples for Christ, Satan is making disciples for
- 25:51demonic purposes that we are seeing carried out that we never thought we see in our lifetime.
- 25:56But John Haller, we're going to do this again next week.
- 25:58We're going to talk about what we can expect as we look ahead in this year.
- 26:04And friends, we've got Andy Woods coming up tomorrow.
- 26:06We're going to talk about how Israel is being attacked and anti-Semitism, all kinds of
- 26:10things with Andy.
- 26:11But brother, John, I want to send people to your fellowship Bible chapel, YouTube channel.
- 26:17I appreciate all the research you do.
- 26:18I often jokingly say, John Haller does all the work so we don't have to.
- 26:23But I'm joking.
- 26:24I love you, man.
- 26:25We'll talk to you soon, John.
- 26:26Thanks so much, David.
- 26:27God bless.
- 26:28All right.
- 26:29Thank you.
- 26:30Friends, again, thank you for your support.
- 26:31As you can do next to praying for the show, for against the spiritual warfare and the
- 26:36attacks, is to share on social media because we are a little bit limited, but with your help
- 26:42we're getting out there.
- 26:44So I want to thank you so much again.
- 26:45God bless you.
- 26:46Happy New Year.
- 26:47And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
