- 1:50Speaker 1: They are two.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Games ahead of the Rangers. The Boston Red Sox are
- 1:57Speaker 2: battling for the playoff as well the wild card. There
- 2:02Speaker 2: is a lot going on these next three days for

- 3:08Speaker 1: It's fitting that they've got a.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Player who is injured as their Roberto Clemente nominee. And
- 3:14Speaker 2: it's fitting that Soda the Texas Rangers, because Cory Seeger
- 3:19Speaker 2: is the Rangers nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award, recognizing
- 3:25Speaker 2: an MLB player who best represents the game through character,
- 3:30Speaker 2: community involvement, philanthropy, positive contributions both on and off the field.

- 3:53Speaker 2: All the way to the AL West Division Championship. Kickoff
- 3:59Speaker 2: for the Auburn A and M game September twenty seventh
- 4:03Speaker 2: is set for two thirty on ESPN. The Aggies, of course,
- 4:09Speaker 2: are off this week to the victor goes all the awards.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Mario Craver named the Associated Press Player of the Week
- 4:19Speaker 2: in college football.
- 4:21Speaker 1: He's leading the nation had over one.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Hundred yards of catches in three straight including one hundred
- 4:29Speaker 2: and forty seven and a half yards average per name
- 4:33Speaker 2: twenty two yards a catch, four touchdowns. That includes two
- 4:38Speaker 2: hundred and seven yards against the Irish. With that eighty
- 4:43Speaker 2: six yard score, Marcel Reid named the Davy O'Brien Great
- 4:49Speaker 2: Eight and Manning Awards Star of the Week. He threw
- 4:55Speaker 2: for three hundred sixty yards two touchdowns average twenty one
- 5:01Speaker 2: yards a completion. Also ran for thirty seven yards on
- 5:06Speaker 2: seven carries. Albert Regis SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Regius disrupted things seven tackles five solos, which is a
- 5:21Speaker 2: career best for the season. He leads the front four
- 5:29Speaker 2: with fifteen tackles, and his fifteen tackles ranks number two
- 5:34Speaker 2: among all SEC defensive tackles. Texas head coach Steve Sarkesian
- 5:41Speaker 2: said today CJ. Baxter will not play against Sam Houston
- 5:46Speaker 2: this week. Baxter has a hamstring issue. He's just recovering
- 5:53Speaker 2: from a knee injury. But Weisner, by the way way,
- 6:00Speaker 2: their other running back hasn't played in the last two
- 6:03Speaker 2: weeks because of a leg injury, not certain about him.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Wide receiver DeAndre Moore is in concussion protocol. Days after
- 6:15Speaker 2: a win over Florida, LSU got a key commitment at
- 6:22Speaker 2: quarterback today. Peyton Houston, the top ranked pocket pastor passer's
- 6:29Speaker 2: I don't think he's a pastor. He's five to eleven,
- 6:33Speaker 2: two hundred pounds from Shreveport, the number seventy seven overall prospect.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Other finalist A and M Texas Oklahoma USC Cody Campbell,
- 6:49Speaker 2: who is the sugar daddy at Texas Tech and the
- 6:53Speaker 2: billionaire who has made bought his way onto the board
- 6:57Speaker 2: of Regents, wrote an op ed p in USA Today
- 7:02Speaker 2: calling for a new governing.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Body in college football.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Wrote Campbell, it cannot be the NC Double A, which
- 7:11Speaker 2: for years fought tooth and nail against any rule that
- 7:14Speaker 2: would benefit student athletes and protect the most vulnerable schools
- 7:19Speaker 2: and sports. The NC double A, rights Campbell, is now
- 7:23Speaker 2: lobbying Congress and the public for the ability to override
- 7:27Speaker 2: the multitude of court cases they have lost, including a
- 7:31Speaker 2: nine to nothing loss to the US Supreme Court, so
- 7:35Speaker 2: that it can retake control of rulemaking and crack down
- 7:38Speaker 2: on the athletes and the schools, says Campbell. Of course
- 7:42Speaker 2: the NCUBA wants to regain power. Of course, it wants
- 7:46Speaker 2: to go back to raking in billions at the expense
- 7:50Speaker 2: of student athletes and the schools it ostensibly charged to represent.
- 7:56Speaker 2: The NC doublea's version of The Score Act ensures that
- 8:01Speaker 2: the powerful colleges stay powerful and relegates the lesser advantage
- 8:05Speaker 2: schools to permanent irrelevance.
- 8:08Speaker 1: The Score Act also does not address.
- 8:11Speaker 2: The fact there will not be enough money to pay
- 8:13Speaker 2: for sports like track, swimming, volleyball, soccer, and softball through
- 8:19Speaker 2: sneaky and strategic drafting. The Score Act does not explicitly
- 8:25Speaker 2: grant the NCAA direct power, but the implications are clear
- 8:31Speaker 2: they will regain control if the bill becomes law. Somebody
- 8:37Speaker 2: else speaking out against what has been one of the
- 8:42Speaker 2: most corrupt organizations, well the most corrupt in sports, well
- 8:47Speaker 2: except for.
- 8:47Speaker 1: The NBA in the NFL.
- 8:50Speaker 2: The New York Rangers announced today that Hockey Hall of
- 8:54Speaker 2: Fame goalie Eddie Giacheman has died at the age of
- 8:59Speaker 2: eighty eight. Jackaman spent a decade with the Rangers, won
- 9:04Speaker 2: two hundred and sixty seven games. Career began in nineteen
- 9:09Speaker 2: sixty five. In three straight years, he led the NHL
- 9:14Speaker 2: in wins. His two hundred and sixty seven wins ranks
- 9:18Speaker 2: third in New York Rangers history. All Right, we're going
- 9:24Speaker 2: to take a little break. We hope we can get
- 9:26Speaker 2: our winner for our Friday's fearless contest on the line,
- 9:31Speaker 2: because I have a choice of prizes for him to make.
- 9:35Speaker 2: If not, he'll just get whatever I give him and
- 9:38Speaker 2: like it. We've got the writers Roundtable coming up, and
- 9:44Speaker 2: very excited about tomorrow. Ivan Mazel, who has written a
- 9:52Speaker 2: book called American Coach, the story of Frank Leahy at
- 9:56Speaker 2: Notre Dame.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Timely get it he will.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I am replaying an interview I did with him several
- 10:06Speaker 2: weeks ago. The book is out tomorrow, okay, And I
- 10:12Speaker 2: promised him when we did the interview since the book
- 10:14Speaker 2: wasn't out yet. I don't have any problem with it
- 10:17Speaker 2: because Ivan Mazel is great and the book is great.
- 10:21Speaker 2: We're going to replay that interview for you on tomorrow's program. Okay,
- 10:27Speaker 2: to take a break, we'll be back. The Final Lap

- 11:04Speaker 5: NASCAR Cup Series race recap from Bristol Motor Speedway. I'm
- 11:07Speaker 5: Kerrie Murphy Christopher Bell. He only led twelve laps on
- 11:10Speaker 5: the day, but leading the final lap is kind of
- 11:13Speaker 5: the one that counts.
- 11:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I just I thought it was going
- 11:17Speaker 6: to be a fifty to fifty call for Brad, and
- 11:19Speaker 6: we knew it was going to be a race between
- 11:20Speaker 6: who had fresh tires and who could get to the
- 11:22Speaker 6: lead first. And Brad had a tough decision to take
- 11:25Speaker 6: the bottom or take the top. He ended up taking
- 11:28Speaker 6: the top. I got the bottom and then you know,
- 11:30Speaker 6: those two guys just on old tires. It was super
- 11:34Speaker 6: hard to get the car to stick around the bottom
- 11:37Speaker 6: and they just kind of slid up and it was
- 11:39Speaker 6: a perfect storm for me. So once I got the lead,
- 11:42Speaker 6: it wasn't the prettiest thing. Those last couple of laps.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Just I started really struggling to you know, hit the
- 11:47Speaker 6: line and I was sliding around a lot, and Brad
- 11:50Speaker 6: was able to run right up to me so yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 6: I hope it was a good race of the fans.
- 11:55Speaker 6: It was too close for comfort inside the car, but
- 11:58Speaker 6: that's what makes it a really good race.
- 12:00Speaker 5: It's Seabell's fourth win of the season and puts him
- 12:02Speaker 5: fourth in the playoff standings right now with twenty points
- 12:05Speaker 5: to the good All right, let's see here. Brad Keslowski
- 12:07Speaker 5: was second, followed by Zane Smith, Ryan Blaney and Joey
- 12:10Speaker 5: Logano rounds out the top five. This was an elimination race.
- 12:13Speaker 5: Alex Bowman, Austin Dillon, Shane Van Gisbergen, and Josh Berry
- 12:17Speaker 5: all eliminated. Round of twelve is on tap next for
- 12:21Speaker 5: the Cup Series playoffs, kicking off at New Hampshire this
- 12:23Speaker 5: weekend on Sunday two pm Eastern on USA. Then it's

- 14:12Speaker 6: Is this you?
- 14:15Speaker 9: It is?
- 14:16Speaker 1: Hey? Congratulations? Thank you? I mean you went ten and
- 14:21Speaker 1: oh did you know that?
- 14:23Speaker 14: Oh?
- 14:23Speaker 1: Yes, okay, you did know that.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Yeah I didn't go ten and oh but but it must.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Have been an easy week.
- 14:32Speaker 2: There were a lot of not people who won nine games,
- 14:35Speaker 2: but I think you may have been the only one
- 14:38Speaker 2: that won ten.
- 14:39Speaker 1: So did you play the first week as well?
- 14:43Speaker 15: I guess I?
- 14:44Speaker 2: Okay, good, all right, so because you don't want to
- 14:47Speaker 2: miss out on the chance to win the cup?
- 14:50Speaker 11: Right?
- 14:51Speaker 3: Oh?
- 14:51Speaker 14: Absolutely?
- 14:52Speaker 1: How many years? How many years have you played? Robert?
- 14:56Speaker 9: Many?
- 14:56Speaker 1: Really? And this is your this is your first weekly
- 15:00Speaker 1: you win?
- 15:01Speaker 2: It is?
- 15:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:02Speaker 2: So I've got uh, I've got.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Three book sitting here, and I want to know, between.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Professional tennis, baseball, and college football, what would be your
- 15:22Speaker 2: your favorite sport.
- 15:29Speaker 3: That's a difficult question.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Probably college college football, okay, although tennis would be a
- 15:36Speaker 2: close second.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Okay, So I'll just tell you what I have.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I have a biography of Rafa Nadal called The Warrior
- 15:45Speaker 2: by Chris Clary, which is a really good book. And
- 15:49Speaker 2: I also have a book called College Sports, a History.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Now I'm telling you it is thorough. When I say thorough,
- 15:59Speaker 2: it's about five hundred pages, but it's all and I've
- 16:03Speaker 2: read all of it, and it's also.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Very good and gives you a really good.
- 16:07Speaker 2: History of how we ended up here today. But I
- 16:13Speaker 2: have either one of those. I'll tell you what I'm
- 16:15Speaker 2: going to do since and Caleb just reminded me of this,
- 16:20Speaker 2: and I usually do something special. Since you were undefeated, Robert,
- 16:25Speaker 2: I'm going to give you both these books.
- 16:26Speaker 1: How's that awesome?
- 16:28Speaker 2: Okay, I think you'll like both of them.
- 16:31Speaker 16: Have you already?
- 16:32Speaker 1: Have you already made your picks for next week?
- 16:35Speaker 17: I have not.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I usually wait until about Thursday to see how I'm
- 16:39Speaker 2: feeling about it. Okay, well I probably should do that
- 16:42Speaker 2: because what i'm doing is not working. Hey, Robert, I'm
- 16:45Speaker 2: going to put you on hold. Matt'll tell you how
- 16:48Speaker 2: to pick these up. I appreciate you playing, and good
- 16:52Speaker 2: luck going forward, all right, appreciate it?
- 16:55Speaker 1: All right?
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's Robert Cheney is this week's undefeated winner. Now
- 17:02Speaker 2: let me give you the games for this week. Smutcu
- 17:06Speaker 2: is our tiebreaker game. Brian George Ranch and have consolidated
- 17:11Speaker 2: and College Station Texas Tech and Utah, Michigan, Nebraska, Arkansas
- 17:18Speaker 2: and Memphis, Illinois, Indiana to Lane Old Miss the Czech
- 17:24Speaker 2: Texans and the Jaguars the Cowboys. By the way, if
- 17:29Speaker 2: I hear you say Jaguarars, you will be automatically eliminated.
- 17:34Speaker 2: And the Cowboys and the Bears. There's ten games. You
- 17:38Speaker 2: need to make your picks by five o'clock Friday. We're
- 17:41Speaker 2: already on week four. Go to the contest page at
- 17:45Speaker 2: chipower dot com. Roberts sounded like he knew what he
- 17:50Speaker 2: was doing. But most of you, if you ever go
- 17:52Speaker 2: to and oh, I promise you it'll be luck, it
- 17:54Speaker 2: won't be skilled. Okay, just a little aside because I'm
- 17:58Speaker 2: pretty bitter right now.
- 18:00Speaker 1: How He's fearless.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Football Forecast Contest, a division of Sports Talk America's most
- 18:05Speaker 2: loved football Pick them Contest, is brought to you by
- 18:09Speaker 2: s Ornament Flooring and Chad Jones Law. Okay, we're gonna
- 18:17Speaker 2: spend some time, obviously in the second hour with the
- 18:19Speaker 2: writers talking about the game. Right now, however, we're gonna
- 18:23Speaker 2: hear postgame comments from coach Elko following the Aggies forty
- 18:28Speaker 2: one forty win over the Irish on Saturday.
- 18:33Speaker 16: Yeah, I mean, obviously, hats off to Notre Dame too.
- 18:36Speaker 7: That was an unbelievable college football game, two heavyweight teams
- 18:39Speaker 7: throwing punches back and forth at each other from start
- 18:42Speaker 7: to finish, all the way down to the wire.
- 18:44Speaker 16: Couldn't be more proud of our guys.
- 18:46Speaker 7: I don't know that that thing went to script in
- 18:49Speaker 7: any way, shape or form to how you would script
- 18:51Speaker 7: a win on the road.
- 18:52Speaker 16: And we just battled, you.
- 18:53Speaker 7: Know, we battled through a block punt, we battled through
- 18:56Speaker 7: some procedure penalties, we battled through know, some some coverage
- 19:01Speaker 7: bus that created some open explosives for him, and we
- 19:04Speaker 7: just kept fighting and we just kept fighting, and we
- 19:06Speaker 7: kept fighting and ultimately made the play we needed to
- 19:09Speaker 7: make the win the football game on the road. And
- 19:11Speaker 7: so hopefully you guys won't have to ask me any
- 19:13Speaker 7: more questions about whether or not Marcell can throw. That's
- 19:17Speaker 7: what I really hope comes out of this win. So
- 19:19Speaker 7: from there, I'll open it up the questions just.
- 19:21Speaker 18: What was going through your mind on the last play
- 19:23Speaker 18: and did you guys get to change the play call
- 19:25Speaker 18: since they called the pin out on that board the loule.
- 19:28Speaker 7: Yeah, we went went to it. It was we had
- 19:30Speaker 7: a similar play call before the time out. We changed
- 19:32Speaker 7: the formation presentation of it and ran a very similar
- 19:34Speaker 7: play to what we were going to call before the
- 19:36Speaker 7: time out. We wanted to honestly have something where Nate
- 19:40Speaker 7: was running on the side because we we kind of
- 19:43Speaker 7: thought it was gonna be really hard to get it
- 19:44Speaker 7: to Mario or Casey. You know, they had been kind
- 19:46Speaker 7: of bracketing them the two previous plays, and so that
- 19:50Speaker 7: we felt like that would give us an option on
- 19:52Speaker 7: the sideline if we needed it, and and we did,
- 19:54Speaker 7: and then Marcell gave him a ball.
- 19:56Speaker 16: That he could go up and catch, and then he
- 19:57Speaker 16: made a heck of the play.
- 20:00Speaker 19: I guess you could just maybe further found just the
- 20:03Speaker 19: resiliency of your team, because you talked about some other already,
- 20:07Speaker 19: but you have to what looks like a kickoff returning
- 20:10Speaker 19: off things and still able to and then the two
- 20:13Speaker 19: penalties and still to become.
- 20:14Speaker 7: All yeah, I think when when you want to become
- 20:17Speaker 7: a championship level program, and we're not there yet. We
- 20:20Speaker 7: have a lot of work to do to become that
- 20:23Speaker 7: there's going to be moments like this though, that are
- 20:26Speaker 7: going to help springboard it right, moments where your guys
- 20:30Speaker 7: just find a way to compete and battle through everything
- 20:34Speaker 7: that's happening in a game and and find a way
- 20:37Speaker 7: to come out victorious.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Right.
- 20:39Speaker 7: And it's been well documented how long it's been since
- 20:42Speaker 7: this program has gone.
- 20:43Speaker 16: On the road and beat a really good team.
- 20:46Speaker 7: For us to do that on the road in South
- 20:48Speaker 7: pend at night against the team that was obviously desperate
- 20:52Speaker 7: to save their season tonight, I just think it's it's
- 20:56Speaker 7: the step that.
- 20:56Speaker 16: We had to take to move forward. And then that's
- 21:00Speaker 16: all we did.
- 21:01Speaker 7: We took one step forward tonight, and now we got
- 21:04Speaker 7: to rest, and we got to get through the bye week,
- 21:06Speaker 7: and we got to get a lot better as we
- 21:07Speaker 7: head into SEC play with all of our goals in
- 21:10Speaker 7: front of us.
- 21:11Speaker 20: Like when you when you vision that stuff, how different
- 21:14Speaker 20: did it look than what actually happened to night in
- 21:16Speaker 20: terms of the game.
- 21:18Speaker 7: No, I think sometimes it has to happen that way.
- 21:20Speaker 7: I think sometimes it's going to be ugly. Sometimes it's
- 21:23Speaker 7: going to be a game like that where where you know, defensively,
- 21:26Speaker 7: maybe we're not playing as great as we wanted to,
- 21:28Speaker 7: and special teams, we're not playing as great as we
- 21:30Speaker 7: want to, and then the offense just goes out and
- 21:32Speaker 7: carries the show for a while, and then the defense
- 21:34Speaker 7: makes a couple of stops to get us back in
- 21:36Speaker 7: it and get us a little bit of rhythm.
- 21:37Speaker 16: And I think, I think that's the door we had
- 21:41Speaker 16: to kick down.
- 21:42Speaker 7: I don't think that we were going to just magically
- 21:45Speaker 7: become a team that was going to go and everything
- 21:48Speaker 7: was going to go smooth.
- 21:49Speaker 16: We had to kick this door down, and we did
- 21:51Speaker 16: that tonight.
- 21:52Speaker 15: Mike, could you talk a little bit about Marcel's playing
- 21:55Speaker 15: just in particular and you know his poise.
- 21:58Speaker 16: On that last row. Yeah, I mean it's the third
- 22:00Speaker 16: time in a row.
- 22:01Speaker 7: So if you've got to now go through this, right,
- 22:03Speaker 7: that's Auburn, that's the bowl game, and that's this game.
- 22:07Speaker 7: It's the third time in a row that he led
- 22:09Speaker 7: us on a game winning driver. And I said that
- 22:12Speaker 7: all offseason that that was a big piece of it
- 22:14Speaker 7: for him, was in those moments, he has been really good.
- 22:17Speaker 7: And it got overshadowed last year obviously because we lost
- 22:20Speaker 7: those two games, but he has been really good in
- 22:23Speaker 7: those moments, and so we had a lot of confidence
- 22:25Speaker 7: in him.
- 22:25Speaker 16: Tonight, que Kntree updated on the year. Yeah, I don't know.
- 22:28Speaker 16: I don't know what happened to the chair, but maybe
- 22:31Speaker 16: it probably didn't survive. It would be my guest. While
- 22:33Speaker 16: you're asking, you.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Talk about his ability and overcome, but if you talk
- 22:35Speaker 2: about is metal fortitude is resolved as the leadership, you
- 22:38Speaker 2: talk about that all seam.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Just what about him is allowed him to be so common.
- 22:42Speaker 16: Through in these moments. Yeah, I just think it's who
- 22:44Speaker 16: he is.
- 22:44Speaker 7: I think he put in the work that he needed
- 22:47Speaker 7: to put in this offseason to feel really confident, and
- 22:50Speaker 7: so he feels really confident because he's the game has
- 22:53Speaker 7: slowed down a little bit, and again there's there's still
- 22:55Speaker 7: a lot we got to fix. Don't take this as
- 22:57Speaker 7: mass statements, but I think the game has slowed down
- 23:00Speaker 7: and now he is very confident in where he's going
- 23:02Speaker 7: with the football, even down to that last play. You know,
- 23:04Speaker 7: that's a play that we rep every week. It's a
- 23:06Speaker 7: play that we have not run yet this year. It's
- 23:08Speaker 7: a play for that moment, and he knew one two
- 23:12Speaker 7: bang and you know what I mean. And those are
- 23:14Speaker 7: the things that you see him do that we just
- 23:17Speaker 7: didn't get last year consistently. And that was the step
- 23:20Speaker 7: we kept talking about this offseason that we felt like
- 23:23Speaker 7: he had made. Obviously in this environment, tonight he really
- 23:26Speaker 7: showed it not a joke that.
- 23:27Speaker 21: He didn't want to hear any more questions about whether
- 23:30Speaker 21: or not you get throw or not.
- 23:31Speaker 20: What has there made you so confident in him through everything?
- 23:36Speaker 7: Yeah, just being around him every day, And I think again,
- 23:39Speaker 7: I just that narrative was never right, Like there was
- 23:42Speaker 7: that narrative is one of the most unfair narratives that
- 23:45Speaker 7: had ever been created. The kid was a top ten
- 23:47Speaker 7: returning QBR kid. He completed over sixty percent of his passes.
- 23:51Speaker 7: His touchdown interception rate was e leite, but for some reason,
- 23:55Speaker 7: because he came in in the LSU game and that
- 23:57Speaker 7: was what everyone saw, the story just became throw because
- 24:00Speaker 7: we didn't throw him because we didn't need to, right
- 24:02Speaker 7: And and I just it was it was one of
- 24:04Speaker 7: the more unfair stories that was ever written. And is
- 24:07Speaker 7: he perfect throwing the ball? Like like he still missed
- 24:09Speaker 7: a couple of throws tonight. I'm sure he wishes he
- 24:11Speaker 7: had back And that's still a continued development for a
- 24:15Speaker 7: young quarterback. But I just think he is He is
- 24:18Speaker 7: a really really talented player, and we're glad.
- 24:21Speaker 15: We got him station about.
- 24:23Speaker 13: Your team, especially after voice and you can injury.
- 24:26Speaker 11: What did you tell them and how his choice did
- 24:29Speaker 11: you get him back on?
- 24:30Speaker 7: Yeah, still still praying for Bryce. I think that at
- 24:33Speaker 7: this point all signs are positive. I don't think we're
- 24:36Speaker 7: completely we haven't done every diagnostic testing, but so far
- 24:39Speaker 7: every test that we've run through has come back positive,
- 24:42Speaker 7: and so we'll continue to pray that that comes to
- 24:45Speaker 7: a positive resolution. And we're still far away. Yeah, I
- 24:49Speaker 7: just told him what I think any coach would tell him, like,
- 24:51Speaker 7: your brother just went down. You need to step up
- 24:53Speaker 7: and you need to win this for him. And you know,
- 24:55Speaker 7: I know it's some degree maybe galfanized us Casey and
- 25:00Speaker 7: Mario hitting Marcel and that it seems like maybe personally
- 25:03Speaker 7: has little an accurate that they were able to kind
- 25:05Speaker 7: of get.
- 25:06Speaker 22: Him into the games.
- 25:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean the catch case he made before the
- 25:09Speaker 7: long one, right, So he went really high on their
- 25:12Speaker 7: sideline early in the game and came down with a
- 25:15Speaker 7: ball that was like that was one of the more
- 25:17Speaker 7: impressive catches of the evening.
- 25:19Speaker 16: And then he went up and made the challenge catch
- 25:21Speaker 16: on the deep throw.
- 25:23Speaker 7: I think those two plays allowed Marcella to kind of
- 25:26Speaker 7: like take a breath and and kind of regroup.
- 25:29Speaker 16: And yeah, I think that's kind of.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Where it was for this seems like a Dumby place
- 25:35Speaker 2: ship because things happened.
- 25:36Speaker 16: That's a great preface, o B.
- 25:41Speaker 15: Early early game, they had scored on block, but then
- 25:44Speaker 15: they had like I think a third one and you all.
- 25:47Speaker 11: The time out.
- 25:48Speaker 22: You just come out that really and then.
- 25:51Speaker 15: You got to stop right, Yeah, what did you just
- 25:54Speaker 15: feel like for some reason?
- 25:56Speaker 19: Why did you feel like a time out?
- 25:58Speaker 16: We had ten guys on the field.
- 26:00Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, and we didn't think we'd be able to
- 26:03Speaker 7: stop him with ten, so we wanted to We wanted
- 26:04Speaker 7: to bang.
- 26:05Speaker 16: A time out and get that eleventh guy out there.
- 26:07Speaker 16: That was I thought that was a critical factor.
- 26:10Speaker 1: And now that play.
- 26:11Speaker 16: That was not a stupid question, that was actually a
- 26:12Speaker 16: good question.
- 26:14Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 26:14Speaker 7: No, we got we got jobbled up with the we
- 26:17Speaker 7: got jobbled up with the substitution and uh and so
- 26:19Speaker 7: we saw it and before they snapped it, we wanted
- 26:21Speaker 7: to get that square away.
- 26:22Speaker 11: You guys had a lot of things you go wrong
- 26:24Speaker 11: in that first quarter, just where.
- 26:25Speaker 6: Did you feel like you guys finally settled in that
- 26:27Speaker 6: allowed you all to come back and you had to
- 26:29Speaker 6: lead at halftime.
- 26:30Speaker 1: What do you feel like allow jall to settle in finally?
- 26:32Speaker 16: Yeah, I just think we kept making plays.
- 26:34Speaker 7: I don't I don't know, you know, I don't know
- 26:37Speaker 7: that we ever felt like we weren't playing well on offense.
- 26:39Speaker 16: I think, you know, you had the special teams.
- 26:41Speaker 7: Block and then you know, they hit a couple of runs,
- 26:43Speaker 7: and then you know, we got the run game situated,
- 26:45Speaker 7: and then they hit the pass down this it was.
- 26:47Speaker 7: It just seemed like, Yeah, it seemed like the offense
- 26:51Speaker 7: was in rhythm and the special teams and defense had
- 26:53Speaker 7: to figure it out. That's kind of what it seemed like.
- 26:55Speaker 7: And so I don't think there was ever a lack
- 26:57Speaker 7: of confidence. The offensive guys were up and down the
- 26:58Speaker 7: sideline all game. You know, we got you, we got you.
- 27:01Speaker 7: Just keep going like we got you, We're going to
- 27:02Speaker 7: win this game. And I thought that was a really
- 27:05Speaker 7: really good sign for where we were just mentally as
- 27:07Speaker 7: we were going through it.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I know, thank you.
- 27:10Speaker 18: I know you guys are not being a right hung
- 27:13Speaker 18: on the road since twenty fourteen and it's a long season.
- 27:16Speaker 18: But what can a win like this do just to
- 27:18Speaker 18: kind of inspire confience for what do you get in
- 27:20Speaker 18: future moments like this?
- 27:22Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, I think it shows us that we
- 27:24Speaker 7: can do it right. And that's that's a hurdle. You
- 27:27Speaker 7: have to get over that hurdle so that you know,
- 27:29Speaker 7: when you get into the fourth quarter of a close
- 27:31Speaker 7: game on the road in a tough environment like you
- 27:34Speaker 7: have to believe that you can win until you actually
- 27:37Speaker 7: come away with that. You know, and these kids, the
- 27:39Speaker 7: ones who have been part of Texas A and M football.
- 27:42Speaker 7: You know, if you go back to you know, twenty
- 27:44Speaker 7: three at Tennessee at ol Miss, if you go to
- 27:46Speaker 7: last year at Auburn and you like, they've suffered a
- 27:50Speaker 7: lot down the stretch and for them to finally break through,
- 27:54Speaker 7: I think we'll give them confidence moving forward and then
- 27:57Speaker 7: hopefully what they'll take from the game is if they
- 28:00Speaker 7: find a way to execute better, they can be something
- 28:04Speaker 7: really special.
- 28:05Speaker 20: I got to get a lot of respect for their secondary.
- 28:07Speaker 20: What allowed you really from the start to finish your
- 28:09Speaker 20: receivers to find goals.
- 28:11Speaker 22: Even when Morcell was struggling early, they were open.
- 28:14Speaker 7: Yeah, we felt like we would win. We felt like
- 28:17Speaker 7: we would win outside. We went into the game believing
- 28:19Speaker 7: we would win outside, and I think we did.
- 28:22Speaker 16: Mike, what does this win mean for you personally?
- 28:25Speaker 7: I'm just really happy for our guys. I don't think
- 28:27Speaker 7: about myself at all, really, to be honest with you,
- 28:29Speaker 7: I think about our guys. I think about everything that
- 28:31Speaker 7: they put into this thing. I think about how much
- 28:33Speaker 7: they put into this game, and for them to be
- 28:36Speaker 7: victorious tonight and get to enjoy that and enjoy moving
- 28:41Speaker 7: this program in the right direction for everything that they do,
- 28:43Speaker 7: I think it's just awesome.
- 28:45Speaker 18: So there was a free game scuffle and obviously losing
- 28:49Speaker 18: to them last year.
- 28:50Speaker 16: How much of the revenge factory was that play this week?
- 28:53Speaker 18: And then how much do you feel like that motivated
- 28:55Speaker 18: you guys at the end of the game.
- 28:57Speaker 16: No, I don't think so. I mean.
- 29:00Speaker 7: It was an interesting week, you know, the narratives, the storylines,
- 29:04Speaker 7: It was.
- 29:04Speaker 16: An interesting week.
- 29:05Speaker 7: I don't think three game was any different than the
- 29:07Speaker 7: way the week was. And truthfully, that's how it should
- 29:10Speaker 7: have been. You know, until we get on this stage
- 29:12Speaker 7: and win, that should be the narrative and just talk
- 29:15Speaker 7: to the guys all week. Talk to him talk to
- 29:17Speaker 7: him about the last twenty four hours that if you
- 29:20Speaker 7: want to earn respect in this game, you've got an
- 29:22Speaker 7: opportunity to go do it, and ultimately you're gonna have
- 29:26Speaker 7: to do it.
- 29:26Speaker 16: And I think they did that a little bit tonight.
- 29:29Speaker 2: That's Mike Elko post game and you know, look, I
- 29:34Speaker 2: think this schedule right now sets up well for this
- 29:39Speaker 2: next month. I think getting an open date after emotional
- 29:42Speaker 2: win and getting home, you know, early early Sunday morning, man,
- 29:49Speaker 2: I think getting this week off is a big deal.
- 29:52Speaker 2: And then you get three straight home games. The problem
- 29:55Speaker 2: with three straight home games, and you know, you play
- 29:58Speaker 2: three straight road games, you're not home for another month.
- 30:01Speaker 2: But you got to take advantage of this stretch. And
- 30:04Speaker 2: obviously there's nobody on the schedule these next three games
- 30:10Speaker 2: that you can't beat, but there's probably nobody on the
- 30:16Speaker 2: schedule that.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Can't beat you either. So that's life in the sec.
- 30:23Speaker 1: But I think going into the open date.
- 30:30Speaker 19: Little with.
- 30:32Speaker 1: More than a little momentum.

- 34:09Speaker 1: In a couple of weeks.
- 34:11Speaker 2: John Bacon is going to join us and he has
- 34:16Speaker 2: written one of the best books. Well, I don't want
- 34:20Speaker 2: there to be any hyperbole, but this is one of
- 34:23Speaker 2: the best books I think I've ever read. It's called
- 34:25Speaker 2: Gales of November. It is the story of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Now,
- 34:31Speaker 2: if you were like me, you don't know anything about
- 34:35Speaker 2: the Edmund Fitzgerald except for Gordon Lightfoot song The Reck
- 34:39Speaker 2: of the Edmund Fitzgerald. That's all I knew about the
- 34:43Speaker 2: Edmund Fitzgerald. But man, oh man, does this guy tell
- 34:48Speaker 2: a story. It is just terrific. He'll be with us
- 34:52Speaker 2: in a couple of weeks. The book is not out
- 34:55Speaker 2: until October. I'm telling you now, pre order it. I'll
- 34:59Speaker 2: tell you at the time. Don't walk run out to
- 35:04Speaker 2: get that book.
- 35:05Speaker 11: It is.
- 35:05Speaker 2: It is really good. The Gales of November one of
- 35:12Speaker 2: the heroes, and there were many On Saturday evening, Nate
- 35:18Speaker 2: bord Kircher, that tithe in.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I remember having him on I think it was.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Before the season started maybe and hearing, you know, his
- 35:29Speaker 2: story about transferring from Nebraska and.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Showing up here.
- 35:36Speaker 2: He made a big time catch on Saturday night, you
- 35:39Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, And it's really cool, and we're
- 35:41Speaker 2: going to listen to him because he claims the stadium
- 35:46Speaker 2: lights were in his eyes he didn't even see the
- 35:47Speaker 2: ball so that it was almost in his hands.
- 35:49Speaker 1: But hey, it doesn't matter.
- 35:52Speaker 2: He caught it. It's only catch, but you know how
- 35:59Speaker 2: catches go down and lower. This will be one people
- 36:03Speaker 2: will be talking about in a while. Here is night
- 36:05Speaker 2: Board Kircher after the game.
- 36:08Speaker 1: I mean, when you came.
- 36:09Speaker 7: Here, was this like a moment you would envisioned it would
- 36:11Speaker 7: be possible for you to come here and make up
- 36:12Speaker 7: a hand pack like this.
- 36:14Speaker 22: Yeah, I mean up to the portal.
- 36:16Speaker 24: I kind of I talked to to Ellsworth, my coach,
- 36:18Speaker 24: and and we kind of we talked about this vision
- 36:21Speaker 24: together and what we could become. And I'm just so
- 36:24Speaker 24: thankful for the guys in the Titian room and and
- 36:26Speaker 24: uh and the team as a whole.
- 36:28Speaker 19: Erry Marceilson to play wasn't necessarily.
- 36:31Speaker 2: The you.
- 36:33Speaker 11: What were you looking for the ball?
- 36:34Speaker 22: And what was the reaction?
- 36:35Speaker 15: I mean, we'll go through your mind when.
- 36:38Speaker 24: You finally see Yeah, I know on that wheel route,
- 36:41Speaker 24: it's always an option versus man, especially if those two
- 36:44Speaker 24: posts get covered up. And so he I was just
- 36:47Speaker 24: thankful he was able to give me a good ball
- 36:48Speaker 24: to to give me a chance to go win the
- 36:50Speaker 24: game and it worked.
- 36:51Speaker 11: What's your role on that pitch?
- 36:52Speaker 20: Just to get in fun of the linebacker was sort
- 36:54Speaker 20: of the ideal vision.
- 36:56Speaker 24: We got two guys on the outside running posts and
- 36:58Speaker 24: then I'm running the wheel. You know, give some hopefully
- 37:00Speaker 24: he bites on that and then run the wheel. And
- 37:02Speaker 24: he didn't really bite on it, but you know, Marshall
- 37:04Speaker 24: just threw it.
- 37:04Speaker 7: Up very you ask me some being able to experience
- 37:07Speaker 7: than you've experienced tonight, can you take us through what
- 37:09Speaker 7: that felt.
- 37:10Speaker 11: Might either you're at Norney or what of the legendaries?
- 37:13Speaker 11: And what does it feel like to do something like
- 37:15Speaker 11: that at.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Such a time in the game.
- 37:18Speaker 22: I mean, that was so special to me.
- 37:20Speaker 24: Its and and kind of when I caught that in
- 37:22Speaker 24: a little bit after the game, I was, I just
- 37:23Speaker 24: think about my journey as a walk on and and
- 37:25Speaker 24: how special this always uh you know, and it's you know,
- 37:30Speaker 24: I just I'm so thankful for everyone around me that
- 37:32Speaker 24: helped me get to this point.
- 37:33Speaker 22: I mean, it's not me, it's everyone that's helped me.
- 37:35Speaker 23: Did about people, driven about the people who was in
- 37:37Speaker 23: yap CITIU or what did you dream about as a
- 37:40Speaker 23: kid And how does this compare?
- 37:41Speaker 22: I mean that's about picture perfect. I mean probably even better.
- 37:44Speaker 24: I mean I I never I didn't even envision this,
- 37:46Speaker 24: and uh, you know it's it's special.
- 37:48Speaker 7: Yeah, you're you're in a group of people that were
- 37:51Speaker 7: brought here to make an instant impact.
- 37:52Speaker 16: So can you Mario kase and everyone to do that?
- 37:54Speaker 7: How special is it for you guys to come in
- 37:56Speaker 7: here and kind of be a part of that and
- 37:58Speaker 7: sing such a big important win.
- 38:00Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 38:00Speaker 24: Now, I would say that it helps to have a
- 38:02Speaker 24: organization like text say them, Uh, they welcomed up, they
- 38:05Speaker 24: welcomed us with open, open arms, and and I've just
- 38:08Speaker 24: been so grateful to have them as my teammates.
- 38:10Speaker 18: And you have you guys, Uh you maybe y'all training
- 38:14Speaker 18: Marshall Leave's name in the walker rooms.
- 38:16Speaker 16: Just uh what does it mean?
- 38:18Speaker 18: Uh to to watch him kind of deliver in that moment?
- 38:21Speaker 18: And uh what oka we talked about?
- 38:23Speaker 16: How are you he's he's a passer and all that.
- 38:26Speaker 16: So what what'd you see through you?
- 38:28Speaker 11: Right?
- 38:28Speaker 24: Well, y, you could see how he runs, he's a
- 38:29Speaker 24: he's a special runner. But uh he he he's shown
- 38:32Speaker 24: so far you know how he can throw. He's a
- 38:34Speaker 24: he's a great passer. And you know, it's just I
- 38:38Speaker 24: was thankful to happen as my quarterback.
- 38:40Speaker 20: What what what does the night like to night? Do
- 38:41Speaker 20: the next time you're in this situation as a team, maybe.
- 38:44Speaker 11: Down the road, late game.
- 38:46Speaker 24: Yeah, I think that, uh, that that gives us the
- 38:48Speaker 24: ability to be more clutching the situation. You know, one
- 38:51Speaker 24: thing I said on the sideline on it was second down,
- 38:54Speaker 24: second in goal or third and goal maybe even I'd
- 38:56Speaker 24: looked at the coach, Elsworth said, I have no doubt we're.
- 38:58Speaker 22: Gonna win this game. I I I new for sure.
- 39:00Speaker 24: And so I think that confidence and that confidence with
- 39:03Speaker 24: the team will help us, you know, help us win
- 39:05Speaker 24: big games in the future. Who you all about that
- 39:07Speaker 24: kickoff return not actually being returned and thinking, okay, now
- 39:11Speaker 24: we can actually run the time off with off and
- 39:14Speaker 24: we need a one. Yeah, that kickoff turn was crazy, man,
- 39:18Speaker 24: getting that call back. That sucks, but you know it was.
- 39:21Speaker 24: It was great to have a team that can bounce
- 39:22Speaker 24: back from that.
- 39:23Speaker 6: I'm just curious if like that, like when you saw that,
- 39:26Speaker 6: we're like, okay, well now we can actually run the
- 39:29Speaker 6: time off the.
- 39:29Speaker 22: Black Yeah, I mean yeah, I mean we'll take the score.
- 39:32Speaker 22: We'll take the score for sure. But you know it
- 39:34Speaker 22: helped to to run the time down to like eleven seconds.
- 39:37Speaker 11: Was it?
- 39:37Speaker 5: So have you what are then calling the time out
- 39:40Speaker 5: before the board down, play do for for you, for the.
- 39:43Speaker 16: Teams, the artist.
- 39:46Speaker 22: A changeing thing, you know what.
- 39:47Speaker 24: We had leaders step up in the huddle and and
- 39:49Speaker 24: and we talked about just going out and taking it
- 39:51Speaker 24: and I think that kind of calmed the nerves and
- 39:53Speaker 24: help us go execute.
- 39:54Speaker 25: Have you ever caught a game winning touchdown pass before?
- 39:57Speaker 22: That's my second touchdown pass ever, So no, I haven't.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Man, What's what about Marsoll Reed that allowed to be
- 40:02Speaker 2: so stowicic in, you know in these moments and kind
- 40:05Speaker 2: of just talk about him and what he's like in
- 40:06Speaker 2: the huddle on those spots.
- 40:07Speaker 22: Yeah, he's a leader.
- 40:08Speaker 24: I mean he's a vocal leader, but then he's also
- 40:10Speaker 24: you know, he leads by his actions and he kind
- 40:13Speaker 24: of just shows us, you know, how to win and
- 40:15Speaker 24: what to do.
- 40:15Speaker 5: When when Notre Dame botched that extra point?
- 40:18Speaker 2: Die ha?
- 40:18Speaker 11: How when how did you?
- 40:19Speaker 6: When did you realize that that had happened?
- 40:21Speaker 12: And just the thought process of Okay, we score a touchdown,
- 40:24Speaker 12: we can go and wouldn't you.
- 40:26Speaker 24: I Mean that's kind of when I fell in my
- 40:28Speaker 24: head like we got we got a chance, we got him.
- 40:31Speaker 24: You know when when that happened. Uh, you know two
- 40:33Speaker 24: minutes on the on the clock was down by seven.
- 40:36Speaker 24: You know, I'm I got us so that by six
- 40:39Speaker 24: thought I.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Contested ball like that.
- 40:42Speaker 18: That was difficult for to come down with it, Like,
- 40:45Speaker 18: just where would you rank that in life?
- 40:47Speaker 24: Tough catches in I was just telling the guys in there, Uh,
- 40:50Speaker 24: the ball is in there. I couldn't even see it
- 40:52Speaker 24: because of the lights, like it was. I was blinded
- 40:54Speaker 24: by those lights. And I saw it, you know, right
- 40:56Speaker 24: before it got to my hands. Luckily it was a
- 40:58Speaker 24: great ball. Uh yeah, I was weird and it disappeared.
- 41:03Speaker 22: All right, Thank you, thanks guys.
- 41:06Speaker 1: So is that the definition of an immaculate reception? Right?
- 41:14Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 41:15Speaker 1: I mean, hey, I think I just coined up phrase.
- 41:19Speaker 1: You can use that.
- 41:20Speaker 2: No, I know Frank o'harris did it first, but that's
- 41:24Speaker 2: been a long time ago. Most people don't even know
- 41:27Speaker 2: what that is. It's been so long. This is the
- 41:32Speaker 2: A and M version of the immaculate reception. Didn't see
- 41:36Speaker 2: it until I was right in his hands.
- 41:42Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 41:43Speaker 2: But he said that that's the second touchdown catch he's
- 41:46Speaker 2: ever had.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Oh in college? Are you sure? Because they just he
- 41:51Speaker 1: just said that's the second. I can't imagine, like.
- 41:54Speaker 2: If he he had won in Nebraska, I can't imagine
- 41:59Speaker 2: he did catch balls in high school, right, because a
- 42:02Speaker 2: guy like that, I mean, I don't know, I don't know,
- 42:04Speaker 2: but pretty cool story.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Hey, here's the deal.
- 42:10Speaker 2: If he does nothing the rest of the season, which
- 42:15Speaker 2: I don't think that will happen, I'm just saying, if
- 42:18Speaker 2: he doesn't have another catch the rest of the season,
- 42:22Speaker 2: he's he's golden. He had five in high school. Okay,
- 42:31Speaker 2: I bet they weren't that big. I bet I bet
- 42:34Speaker 2: there weren't as many people watching.
- 42:37Speaker 1: We'll take a break.

- 45:19Speaker 9: His history and someone came to the sports shower is
- 45:22Speaker 9: shipower it with Day's forty six and it is only
- 45:24Speaker 9: eleven fifty am.
- 45:26Speaker 11: I'm in ninety three point seven.
- 45:28Speaker 22: FF.
- 45:45Speaker 2: I know there's been a lot of famous left handers
- 45:48Speaker 2: over the years, historically, I don't know if there was
- 45:53Speaker 2: a better one than this guy right there.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Play. Oh it is Oh, that's Stevie.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Sounded just like hendricks Man, sounded just like Hendrix. And
- 46:07Speaker 2: I can't give him a better compliment than that. I mean, look,
- 46:12Speaker 2: we all know Stevie could play.
- 46:15Speaker 1: But when I'm saying that sounds like hendricks I'm saying.
- 46:18Speaker 2: Okay, could I give him a better compliment than that?
- 46:25Speaker 2: I don't think so could have sworn that was Hendrix
- 46:28Speaker 2: because he's I mean, he find me the.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Hendrix version, would you?
- 46:32Speaker 2: And then we're going to play that Because people may
- 46:34Speaker 2: think that I don't know what I'm talking about, but
- 46:37Speaker 2: those of you who follow me know that I'm an
- 46:38Speaker 2: expert on music at quite the musicologist myself.
- 46:43Speaker 1: So we're going to play the Hendrix version. Wait for it, huh,
- 47:00Speaker 1: a little bit different guitar, but there we go. That's
- 47:18Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. Hi, this is why you listen.
- 47:28Speaker 2: So before the A and M Notre Dame Classic was
- 47:35Speaker 2: the Georgia Tennessee Classic.
- 47:39Speaker 1: And I do know that ABC.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Did not spend a lot of time showing the face
- 47:51Speaker 2: of the Tennessee kicker after he missed a forty two
- 47:54Speaker 2: yard field goal.
- 47:55Speaker 1: The way, NBC just left that poor kid that was
- 47:59Speaker 1: the holder out to dry.
- 48:01Speaker 2: If you've seen SEC shorts today, you know that they
- 48:04Speaker 2: made quite a little sarcastic deal about I don't know
- 48:10Speaker 2: why they did it. Well, I do, because NBC is
- 48:12Speaker 2: a Notre Dame network, and it's like, well, here's the kids,
- 48:16Speaker 2: that's the blame for the loss. Here's the kid, he's
- 48:20Speaker 2: the blame for it. Anyway, here's Kirby after the game. Oh,
- 48:28Speaker 2: we haven't done that yet. Okay, sorry about that. Uh
- 48:32Speaker 2: I tell you Georgia's Georgia is still the champion until
- 48:40Speaker 2: somebody puts a stake in their heart. Tennessee tried. I
- 48:44Speaker 2: toweeted during the game. It had the feel of the
- 48:46Speaker 2: SEC championship game, and it did. Tennessee surprised me. I
- 48:52Speaker 2: think on both sides of the ball. Georgia did not
- 48:56Speaker 2: surprise me. And how they responded. Here's Kirby.
- 49:00Speaker 14: A lot of respect for Tennessee in the atmosphere that
- 49:03Speaker 14: was created here today. It was a great college football game.
- 49:07Speaker 14: I'm really proud of our guys. We talked about coming
- 49:11Speaker 14: in here to conquer this place, which is not easy
- 49:12Speaker 14: to do, and when you do something like that, you
- 49:14Speaker 14: have to make your own way.
- 49:16Speaker 11: You have to absorb blows.
- 49:18Speaker 14: And I don't think I had any idea how many
- 49:20Speaker 14: blows we would have to absorb, but we did, and
- 49:23Speaker 14: we got a resilient group. I think that's a really
- 49:26Speaker 14: good football team we just played. I don't think we
- 49:29Speaker 14: played our best football, especially defensively. Give them a lot
- 49:32Speaker 14: of credit though they made plays down the field. I
- 49:34Speaker 14: got a lot of respect for their quarterback. But just
- 49:37Speaker 14: some guys that mentioned Bo comes in off the bench
- 49:40Speaker 14: and plays right tackle.
- 49:41Speaker 11: Unbelievable.
- 49:42Speaker 14: Gunner took some shots today and stood in there and
- 49:45Speaker 14: made some big time throws. I thought the offensive staff
- 49:48Speaker 14: did an incredible job. That's a really good defense. We
- 49:50Speaker 14: just played guys, and they outside of probably two drives
- 49:55Speaker 14: in the second half where I felt like we stalled out,
- 49:59Speaker 14: they did unbelieve They kept him off balanced, off tempo
- 50:03Speaker 14: Mike and then put a great plan together, a couple
- 50:05Speaker 14: of special runs that we had not run that really
- 50:06Speaker 14: helped us.
- 50:07Speaker 11: So just all in all, a great game.
- 50:08Speaker 14: But you know, I don't I feel almost like you
- 50:11Speaker 14: have to apologize because I don't think that we should
- 50:12Speaker 14: have won that game. I thought they they out played
- 50:15Speaker 14: us in a lot of ways. But that's the way
- 50:16Speaker 14: it goes. I mean, I've had one against them about
- 50:18Speaker 14: nine or ten years ago that certainly went that way.
- 50:21Speaker 14: So it comes and goes, what did what did gunners show?
- 50:25Speaker 11: You?
- 50:26Speaker 2: Just?
- 50:26Speaker 14: What was the agency man? He's so he's so tough.
- 50:28Speaker 14: I mean, he takes shot after shot.
- 50:31Speaker 11: You know.
- 50:32Speaker 14: I thought he did a good job with the run game.
- 50:33Speaker 14: The the I'm talking about his run game. It saved
- 50:36Speaker 14: us on a couple of third downs in the red area.
- 50:38Speaker 14: He made a couple of runs. That plus one run
- 50:41Speaker 14: game can be big for us if he can protect himself.
- 50:45Speaker 11: I thought he grew up tonight.
- 50:46Speaker 14: He grew up a lot, like he stood in there
- 50:48Speaker 14: and the fourth down throw he made was really good,
- 50:52Speaker 14: and protection was was better. I still want him to
- 50:56Speaker 14: trust the pocket and stay in there, but you know
- 50:58Speaker 14: that that's who he is.
- 50:59Speaker 11: I think we're we're gonna.
- 51:00Speaker 14: U evolve with him where we we can scramble and
- 51:02Speaker 14: make some really big time plays if he'll keep his
- 51:04Speaker 14: eyes downfield when he scrambles. You preplay, yeah, before you play.
- 51:15Speaker 11: I have no idea. I don't know what they were in.
- 51:17Speaker 14: And we were just gonna gonna take a shot there,
- 51:19Speaker 14: and we we needed to score fast.
- 51:21Speaker 11: We didn't need to keep milking time.
- 51:22Speaker 14: And so it felt like they were defending the sticks
- 51:24Speaker 14: and we were trying to get a touchdown and sometimes
- 51:26Speaker 14: you get an advantage when people play the sticks and
- 51:28Speaker 14: you're willing to take a shot, and and god, we
- 51:30Speaker 14: didn't need to cause it was no guarantee that we
- 51:32Speaker 14: were gonna get the two. So I was on the
- 51:34Speaker 14: headphones with the entire drive saying, hey, we need to
- 51:36Speaker 14: score quickly cause we may have to get the ball back.
- 51:38Speaker 11: You can't assume it's a tie.
- 51:40Speaker 14: The two point conversion was to play the game because
- 51:42Speaker 14: that actually gave us a chance.
- 51:43Speaker 11: You talk a lot about how young this team it is.
- 51:45Speaker 11: Was it tells you about this team today that they
- 51:47Speaker 11: went on.
- 51:47Speaker 14: The road to Austin market and and won a game that,
- 51:50Speaker 14: like you said, many.
- 51:51Speaker 11: You feel like you made a should have. Yeah, they
- 51:52Speaker 11: grew up.
- 51:53Speaker 14: I mean, look, defense for two weeks has heard about
- 51:56Speaker 14: how good they are. They got punched in the face.
- 51:58Speaker 14: I did think we played the run well early and
- 52:01Speaker 14: then we started having to make some adjustments to sacrifice
- 52:03Speaker 14: some on the run to protect some guys. And the
- 52:07Speaker 14: past we've played them well. We didn't give up big plays.
- 52:10Speaker 14: Today we didn't do that. And uh, it's not all
- 52:13Speaker 14: on the corners. We didn't have a guy in the
- 52:14Speaker 14: middle of the field. It should be a guy in
- 52:16Speaker 14: the middle the field. They can't throw that ball. They're
- 52:17Speaker 14: the first one we misjudged the ball. I mean, they're
- 52:20Speaker 14: they're correctible things. Is a good thing, and we really
- 52:23Speaker 14: weren't beat We just misplayed it.
- 52:26Speaker 11: And that's tough to swallow.
- 52:27Speaker 15: Curry, in your experience, if you're gonna have a special season,
- 52:30Speaker 15: don't you have to win something like this, or maybe
- 52:32Speaker 15: you don't deserve to win.
- 52:34Speaker 11: That you find a way on the road.
- 52:35Speaker 14: Yeah, most people, you would say, I mean, I would
- 52:37Speaker 14: prefer it not be this early in the season, but
- 52:40Speaker 14: I mean it doesn't get any.
- 52:41Speaker 11: Easier from here. Look, our league.
- 52:43Speaker 14: I don't know what's going on in college football today,
- 52:45Speaker 14: but this league is tough. I mean every Saturday. I
- 52:50Speaker 14: think games are gonna be like that. I told our
- 52:52Speaker 14: team I would not be shocked at all if it's
- 52:53Speaker 14: a fourth quarter game and it comes down to one possession,
- 52:55Speaker 14: which it did.
- 52:57Speaker 18: Some more of judgement Cradle Ninels, how far come since?
- 53:01Speaker 19: Maybe starting a little bit from behind, and when as receive.
- 53:03Speaker 14: Them, I saw a big man. He was a difference maker.
- 53:07Speaker 14: We thought our advantage was our conditioning level. We we
- 53:10Speaker 14: felt like we were a better conditioned team. And I
- 53:12Speaker 14: really thought there after the first drive second half, al right,
- 53:15Speaker 14: here we go, We're getting ready to rock and roll
- 53:18Speaker 14: and try to but they bowed their neck, they got
- 53:20Speaker 14: a you know, they were in a playoff football team,
- 53:22Speaker 14: and they stopped the run some and forced us to
- 53:24Speaker 14: do different things.
- 53:25Speaker 11: But Cray was great today.
- 53:27Speaker 14: He was really instrumental. I told him in the over time.
- 53:29Speaker 14: I said, guys, let's set, let's get this big guy going.
- 53:31Speaker 14: And of course Nate had the big run and then
- 53:34Speaker 14: he came in and finished it off. He's he's a
- 53:35Speaker 14: great compliment to what we have.
- 53:37Speaker 15: Can you speak to the accomplishment of winning five times
- 53:40Speaker 15: on the Roll of the Sea and nine times.
- 53:42Speaker 14: In all the world. Well, I lost a lot of
- 53:45Speaker 14: times in a rowst player, So I mean it's still
- 53:48Speaker 14: it still sticks with me and I have a lot
- 53:50Speaker 14: of memories, good and bad of playing here, but five
- 53:55Speaker 14: in a row is a lot.
- 53:57Speaker 11: I mean dating back to Alabama's probably more than that.
- 54:00Speaker 27: Or sure you said that.
- 54:01Speaker 28: Gunnar rupt today, But where do you think this helped
- 54:03Speaker 28: him in his confidence?
- 54:04Speaker 14: Especially in the Massa game, his fut I think it
- 54:06Speaker 14: was immense for that. He's still I I mean I
- 54:08Speaker 14: wanna judge him by watching the the tape that there's
- 54:10Speaker 14: plays in there that can be made. That he's gotta
- 54:12Speaker 14: settle down and have confidence.
- 54:13Speaker 11: The best thing.
- 54:14Speaker 14: He's got is his his legs, and he's got a
- 54:17Speaker 14: good arm, but he he's gotta trust his legs and
- 54:19Speaker 14: use them to extend plays, not just run. These guys
- 54:22Speaker 14: are fast and ally he tries to run the sideline
- 54:24Speaker 14: and he might only get two or three yards, where
- 54:26Speaker 14: if he runs north and south and sticks it up
- 54:28Speaker 14: in there, he's gonna find some honey holes in that pocket.
- 54:30Speaker 14: I think right now he's.
- 54:32Speaker 11: When he steps back.
- 54:32Speaker 14: It's hard to pass pro for a quarterback that goes
- 54:35Speaker 14: back and does those things. But he's growing up. He's
- 54:37Speaker 14: getting But I don't sell what he did. Now, there's
- 54:39Speaker 14: a lot of information Coach Boa put on him.
- 54:40Speaker 11: Check this, do this.
- 54:41Speaker 14: They had a great plan I felt like put together
- 54:44Speaker 14: and a lot of them was check system for him
- 54:46Speaker 14: in this crowd noise.
- 54:47Speaker 11: He did a really good job of that the first drive. Guys,
- 54:49Speaker 11: that was like clockwork.
- 54:52Speaker 19: Does you try to keep the defense's confidence up, you
- 54:55Speaker 19: know when they need to stuff in overtime?
- 54:56Speaker 11: Now, oh they didn't. Uh uh.
- 54:58Speaker 14: That defense group in there, they're not They ain't losing
- 55:00Speaker 14: their confidence. One player may have a little doubt, but
- 55:03Speaker 14: that group in there, they think they can stop anybody
- 55:05Speaker 14: any times. That's a fun group to be around. They
- 55:07Speaker 14: knew and over time they thought they were gonna go
- 55:09Speaker 14: block the field goal. I mean they believe in they're
- 55:12Speaker 14: confident group. Now we got to play smarter, but look,
- 55:14Speaker 14: that's a hard game to prep for. We worked the
- 55:16Speaker 14: hell out of our guys to get rid of that
- 55:18Speaker 14: game and probably overworked those guys. It came down to
- 55:21Speaker 14: things that we did not execute. We just we got
- 55:24Speaker 14: beat over top or didn't make a play. And it's
- 55:27Speaker 14: frustrating because I thought that we would play better defensively.
- 55:29Speaker 11: What'd you tell your team after the missing field goal.
- 55:31Speaker 14: Trying to compose them going in over time, I didn't
- 55:34Speaker 14: say I talked about red area defense and talked about
- 55:36Speaker 14: what breakdowns we had had in the previous drives, and
- 55:38Speaker 14: I told coach Bobo, what you know, like, hey, what
- 55:40Speaker 14: works in the red area. Let's focus on what works.
- 55:43Speaker 14: We want to do a bunch of hoho rod at
- 55:44Speaker 14: that point. And I think the biggest thing is we
- 55:46Speaker 14: got to play defense first, and we got to.
- 55:50Speaker 11: Stop which was huge.
- 55:52Speaker 14: Put that kicker right back out there after that kick,
- 55:54Speaker 14: which he he drilled it. And then I thought Mike
- 55:56Speaker 14: and the defensive staff came up with an awesome play
- 55:59Speaker 14: that we gotten. We put a play in that we
- 56:02Speaker 14: thought it was gonna really help us, and it plays
- 56:05Speaker 14: off of other plays, and that run they had was
- 56:07Speaker 14: a designed scheme run that we got from some NFL teams,
- 56:10Speaker 14: and it really helped Nate's run.
- 56:12Speaker 1: All right, that's Kirby.
- 56:13Speaker 2: I don't have time now, but Caleb's going to remind
- 56:16Speaker 2: me when the writers get here to talk about josh
- 56:18Speaker 2: Hipel's bone headed play before that kid missed the field goal,
- 56:22Speaker 2: and then josh Hipel just hung the kid out to
- 56:25Speaker 2: dry afterward, and I've gone no, no, no, no, you need
- 56:28Speaker 2: to look into mirror.
- 56:29Speaker 11: Coach.
- 56:30Speaker 2: When you watch like twelve hours of football, you see
- 56:32Speaker 2: a lot of good plays, you see a lot of
- 56:35Speaker 2: bad plays. You see some good coaching decisions, and you
