Trailer Fire Closes Highway 101 | Eureka News
A food booth trailer caught fire on Highway 101 near Willits Saturday afternoon, forcing both southbound lanes to shut down as thick black smoke billowed for miles. The driver, asleep in their vehicle, was unharmed but checked by paramedics as a precaution. CAL FIRE and CHP responded swiftly, containing the flames before they spread to nearby brush. The trailer was towed away, delaying traffic but ultimately reopening the road safely—thanks to quick action by first responders who turned a chaotic situation into a contained incident.
