- 0:00Speaker 1: Couple of things before we go back to hearing from
- 0:01Speaker 1: Jerry Jones. First of all, the starting lineups have been
- 0:06Speaker 1: posted for tonight's fourth game of the World Series. No
- 0:13Speaker 1: big changes on either side. Shoey O Tony is in
- 0:16Speaker 1: the lineup and we'll lead off of the Dodgers tonight.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Uh, he's really cutting through it. Yes, you could deal.
- 0:23Speaker 2: He wasn't one hundred percent. Yeah. If he wasn't, this
- 0:26Speaker 2: wasn't the World Series, he'd be out for what what
- 0:29Speaker 2: do you think, like a month?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Two months?
- 0:31Speaker 1: He'd be out for a bit. And uh, and yet
- 0:33Speaker 1: he still reached pace twice. He did, walked and got
- 0:35Speaker 1: hit by a pitch. So he did that last night.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Uh.
- 0:41Speaker 1: The Dodgers are going with a bullpen game and it's
- 0:43Speaker 1: Ben Casparius who will actually start.
- 0:47Speaker 2: He was in okay, see when I was up there
- 0:49Speaker 2: calling the games for the experience.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, all right, and he he pitched pretty
- 0:53Speaker 1: well in the LCS. So he'll start and go an
- 0:56Speaker 1: inning or two and then they'll just try to piecemeal together.
- 0:59Speaker 1: The Yankees are hitting their home hopes on Louise Heel
- 1:02Speaker 1: spelled like Gil but pronounced heel. Because it's three games
- 1:06Speaker 1: to none and then they can't afford to lose any
- 1:08Speaker 1: more games.
- 1:09Speaker 3: That's one thing.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Another thing here, just had this pop up on my
- 1:15Speaker 1: feed and it is the scattered and assorted prices for tickets.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Oh god for the game name for Texas.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Oh no, no, for Yeah the game in College Station
- 1:32Speaker 1: on November thirtieth. So I think the lowest priced ticket
- 1:36Speaker 1: I saw was seven hundred and forty eight. I was
- 1:37Speaker 1: a seven to twenty upper corner end zone, seven twenty.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Seven hundred twenty bucks for that.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Uh, there's one down pretty low for three four hundred
- 1:48Speaker 1: and forty three bucks. Yeah, there's one for thirty one
- 1:53Speaker 1: forty six on the second tier.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I mean, if you go through siki, the official Yeah
- 1:58Speaker 2: ticket marketplace for I think both texts, and that's A
- 2:01Speaker 2: and M, the cheapest ticket is nine to ten. Yeah
- 2:04Speaker 2: that's and that's including fees. So maybe it's the same
- 2:07Speaker 2: price it just yeah before fete, So almost a grand
- 2:14Speaker 2: to see Texas in Texas.
- 2:15Speaker 3: A and M.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And let me tell you something that that price will
- 2:20Speaker 1: only increase.
- 2:23Speaker 3: If the two teams continue to win.
- 2:26Speaker 1: If that game, and it's looking like it could, if not,
- 2:29Speaker 1: should be for at least one spot in the SEC Championship,
- 2:34Speaker 1: then it's yeah, prices will be through the roof.
- 2:37Speaker 2: My buddy, he works with a guy who has season
- 2:40Speaker 2: tickets for A and M.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And he's debating on selling his tickets for this game.
- 2:45Speaker 2: He's a huge A and M fan, But I want
- 2:48Speaker 2: you to make He's like, I will easily make enough
- 2:51Speaker 2: to purchase my season tickets for next year and get
- 2:53Speaker 2: back what I paid for.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Them this year.
- 2:55Speaker 1: So it's an investment into the future, you might say,
- 2:57Speaker 1: or you're there for history.
- 2:58Speaker 3: You know, it's one of those things. Would you rather
- 3:00Speaker 3: be there or did you rather keep the money?
- 3:02Speaker 1: The restoration of the rivalry And we still have a
- 3:06Speaker 1: star time, a kickoff time for that, but you can
- 3:08Speaker 1: take it to the back is going to be.
- 3:09Speaker 3: It's going to be a six day window, Craig.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I can't imagine that it would be. I think they
- 3:15Speaker 1: may announce it tel day. It just depends on what
- 3:17Speaker 1: else is going to You know what. We'll determine it.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I will tell you this. I'll tell you right now.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Here's my prediction.
- 3:23Speaker 3: You know what.
- 3:23Speaker 1: We'll determine it one game on November sixteenth. One game
- 3:29Speaker 1: not Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, that game will will determine it,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I think, So we.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Still don't know that time. We also don't know the
- 3:42Speaker 2: Kentucky time a week before. No, that's going to be
- 3:45Speaker 2: an afternoon.
- 3:47Speaker 1: It could be like what it was for that Mississippi
- 3:49Speaker 1: State thing two thirty or three fifteen, but it's it's not.
- 3:55Speaker 1: It's not going to be a morning kick that we know.
- 3:57Speaker 1: They do have back to back morning kicks coming up
- 3:59Speaker 1: floridat Hall.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And then in.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Arkansas Vanville, so there's that. Obviously, we'll keep our eyes
- 4:07Speaker 1: on all of that as we goes tomorrow. By the way,
- 4:09Speaker 1: on the pro we will hear from Steve Sarkishan Sark
- 4:12Speaker 1: takes part in the SEC teleconference even on the open dates.
- 4:16Speaker 1: The coaches are required to be there for the commentary,
- 4:20Speaker 1: there for to take the questions, so he'll do that.
- 4:23Speaker 1: And we don't have a Longhorn Weekly with Sark tomorrow
- 4:26Speaker 1: because the open date, but we will have one on
- 4:28Speaker 1: Thursday with Rodney Terry, another basketball preview show. And we
- 4:33Speaker 1: had a good time last week and folks got a
- 4:34Speaker 1: chance to meet Jason Kent and Jordan Pope and probably
- 4:39Speaker 1: be another couple of players out on Thursdays. Looking forward
- 4:42Speaker 1: to that, we'll see. Let's hear some more from Jerry Jones,
- 4:46Speaker 1: the Cowboys president, owner, general manager.
- 4:49Speaker 3: All of that stuff.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Was on his regular Tuesday morning appearance on one O
- 4:57Speaker 1: five three the Fan, and he was asked, you've been
- 5:01Speaker 1: asked about things about financial based decisions and personnel, so
- 5:05Speaker 1: kind of molding all that together. R J and Seawan
- 5:09Speaker 1: having him on, and they asked him, are there times
- 5:12Speaker 1: when he feels one way about a personnel decision, but
- 5:19Speaker 1: the rest of the front office feels differently, and so
- 5:22Speaker 1: he goes with the front office over his own opinion.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Yes, yes there are. That's why I have them if
- 5:31Speaker 4: you're not going to do that. And so I happen
- 5:35Speaker 4: to know that their decisions don't have to be right
- 5:39Speaker 4: and when they've made a decision. But the reason I
- 5:43Speaker 4: know that is how many I've made that aren't right.
- 5:47Speaker 4: And so that's you know, we've discussed this before right here,
- 5:52Speaker 4: that you're fifty to fifty on decisions when you're clicking.
- 5:58Speaker 4: It's what you do with the bad decisions after you
- 6:01Speaker 4: make them, how you work out of those, and how
- 6:03Speaker 4: you let you good ones run wrong and get rid
- 6:07Speaker 4: of your bad ones or make them work when they
- 6:09Speaker 4: shouldn't be working. That's been my experience.
- 6:12Speaker 3: That's interesting.
- 6:13Speaker 1: And he said, yes, you know, and there's been decisions, Yeah, absolutely,
- 6:17Speaker 1: because he wanted Johnny Manziel and Stephen talked him out
- 6:21Speaker 1: of it. You know, he wanted to draft Johnny Manziel.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And that's a good one, even Jones, this one on
- 6:27Speaker 1: the plus side of the fifty to fifty. So then
- 6:29Speaker 1: he was asked, if he decides to trust the consensus,
- 6:34Speaker 1: but the outcome becomes negative, why shouldn't those individuals who
- 6:43Speaker 1: talk to him into doing this, Why shouldn't they even
- 6:46Speaker 1: get the blame for this.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Well, they should, They absolutely should. And the bug bes
- 6:51Speaker 4: stop and Mike is here, and I'm glad he's here,
- 6:56Speaker 4: frankly Mike McCarthy. But the Mike's here at my volition.
- 7:03Speaker 4: And that's what you deal with when you make decisions.
- 7:06Speaker 4: You guys do it every day when you get to
- 7:08Speaker 4: your decision, and you can make decisions in the spot
- 7:14Speaker 4: I'm in, you can make decisions back we ask to
- 7:19Speaker 4: the decision, you can make them of your own volition.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Where you say we're going this way, I know you
- 7:26Speaker 4: guys see it that way. We're going this way, I've
- 7:29Speaker 4: done it all my life.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Okay, all right, there's that next. I don't know if
- 7:37Speaker 3: you heard.
- 7:38Speaker 1: His family was involved in a car wreck going to
- 7:41Speaker 1: the stadium on Sunday. So he was asked, how is
- 7:45Speaker 1: everybody after that accident?
- 7:47Speaker 4: Well, as you enter these high, high profile areas, and
- 7:54Speaker 4: your stadiums are high profile as you enter those nowadays,
- 7:57Speaker 4: if a car goes in with in a certain distance
- 8:01Speaker 4: to the stadium, it's highly protected. And in this particular case,
- 8:08Speaker 4: they've got lifts that can, frankly, if the trigger is flipped,
- 8:15Speaker 4: can stop a car and its tracks, and this is
- 8:18Speaker 4: the case, and comes up under the car. In this
- 8:21Speaker 4: particular case, the car was totally totally busted, all the frame.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Everything is tremendous force, like a small explosion had gone
- 8:32Speaker 4: off under there. Tremendous And those were the things that
- 8:35Speaker 4: created the injuries. And I think my daughter is a
- 8:40Speaker 4: little wasn't feeling as good as she hoped she'd feel yesterday,
- 8:45Speaker 4: and today my son is, who was concustious, feeling better.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Yeah, that's those barriers that come up and it's smashed
- 8:55Speaker 1: right into the car.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Not good, not good.
- 8:58Speaker 1: On that. He was asked when the team is struggling.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Does he go down. We've seen Jerry on the sidelines
- 9:06Speaker 1: a lot. Does he check on the emotions of the team,
- 9:10Speaker 1: not necessarily in the game, but like during a game week,
- 9:13Speaker 1: if things are kind of at a low eb Does
- 9:15Speaker 1: he go in and try to boost everybody? Does he
- 9:18Speaker 1: talk to everybody? Does he kind of gauge the emotions
- 9:20Speaker 1: of the locker room?
- 9:21Speaker 4: So much of that is so much of that is spontaneous,
- 9:28Speaker 4: So much of that is so you can't thank that stuff.
- 9:31Speaker 4: It's real. These guys have a lot on the line,
- 9:35Speaker 4: even the ones that weren't in the game, that are
- 9:38Speaker 4: part of this team and maybe going to be on
- 9:41Speaker 4: the field the next week. They're very involved in the
- 9:46Speaker 4: aspect of their position as a part of a team.
- 9:51Speaker 4: And everybody has their own way of dealing with it.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Some people are vocals, some people aren't. You you can
- 10:00Speaker 4: show frustration manifests itself in a lot of ways. For me,
- 10:08Speaker 4: it doesn't in a tight time to see emotion, but
- 10:15Speaker 4: more importantly that couple with doing something about it. That
- 10:21Speaker 4: is a big deal, and people show that emotion differently.
- 10:24Speaker 4: But boy, this is a This is an emotional game,
- 10:28Speaker 4: and it shows me when I see that kind of frustration.
- 10:33Speaker 4: I don't look at it negatively. I look at it
- 10:35Speaker 4: as they're into it. And believe you me, these players
- 10:39Speaker 4: today uniquely are so involved in social medium that they
- 10:45Speaker 4: hear everything that's whispered because social media does that, and
- 10:50Speaker 4: so they're very, very sensitive. You can shut love this
- 10:55Speaker 4: stuff out when you want to shut it down. Now.
- 10:59Speaker 4: I don't believe it's anybody living that wants to be
- 11:01Speaker 4: dealing with adversity. You'd rather be smooth sailing all the time.
- 11:05Speaker 4: That's not this game. That's not this game. With the media,
- 11:08Speaker 4: you guys, you do a great job. You're probing into it,
- 11:15Speaker 4: those probes into it to ask questions that these guys
- 11:22Speaker 4: are a fair game, and they should be their fair game.
- 11:26Speaker 4: It's not like meeting up with somebody on the street
- 11:29Speaker 4: and your questions can run deep. That's what they do.
- 11:33Speaker 4: They're out there to do what it is that they
- 11:37Speaker 4: may be unhappy with themselves, and it's being pointed out
- 11:40Speaker 4: by media, which you represent the fans. That's the way
- 11:44Speaker 4: it goes.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Very interesting. And there's one more wrinkle to that we'll
- 11:49Speaker 1: get to. We need a break when we come back.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I' let you hear one more piece of sound from
- 11:52Speaker 1: Jerry Jones has to do with let's just call it verbal,
- 11:59Speaker 1: face to face altercation that happened over the weekend. We'll
- 12:02Speaker 1: get to that when we continue on Sports Radio AM
- 12:04Speaker 1: thirteen under the Zone.
