  And it reminds us that it's not always about going from ride to

  ride to ride to ride. Sometimes you got to slow down

  and enjoy some of the entertainment.

  You know, you have that new band Nola and Eight Notes over in in
• 2:34
  front of Tiana's. You have the Dapper Dan's.

  You've got, you know, a good amount of entertainment.

  So make sure to slow down sometimes and and enjoy those

  things. Yeah, and it's funny, I was
• 2:46
  just, I was walking down Frontierland when I did that
• 2:50
  stream a couple weeks ago on a Friday afternoon, and I saw the

  New Orleans band coming down and it was a thrilling surprise for

  me. I was like, oh, look at this,

  look at this. OK.

  And it's stopped and showed the stream and and watched them as
• 3:04
  they pass by and the the lead lady waved over and it was
• 3:07
  really neat. So I'm glad that they're putting

  more entertainment out there like that.

  It reminds me more of Disneyland.

  Exactly. That is seems like it's just so

  destination 23D25D-23 for 2025. And, you know, a lot of people
• 4:51
  were discouraged by the fact that this was not going to have
• 4:57
  a parks panel. And I said, well, you know, when

  I first heard that I, I was a little disappointed because I
• 5:05
  was hoping we would have something to recap.
• 5:09
  In fact, we were supposed to have a OF show before D23 kind
• 5:16
  of speculating on what we were going to hear and then do the
• 5:19
  recap show this week. So to hear that there wasn't
• 5:23
  going to be a Parks panel, we kind of pivoted for last week.
• 5:26
  Well, we still got some decent announcements out of D 23, so I
• 5:32
  figured we would recap them for you.
• 5:35
  What did you think about there not being a Parks panel this
• 5:39
  year, Which let me just clarify, destination, Destination D 23 is
• 5:43
  always the smaller version. It's not the big one.
• 5:47
  So like last year we got all those great announcements.
• 5:49
  We weren't really expecting that much.
• 5:51
  But what did you think when they said it was going to be really a
• 5:54
  parks panel? What did I think after?
• 5:58
  After the fact or before? Both.
• 6:03
  Prior to I, I still thought that they would mention some things,
• 6:09
  but it lowered my expectations of what we might hear solo that
• 6:14
  I didn't even expect this really a single park thing to be
• 6:18
  announced. Yeah, but after the fact, now we
• 6:23
  can see why there wasn't a parks panel, because there wasn't
• 6:25
  enough to talk about. Right.
• 6:28
  Right. But you know, you could have
• 6:30
  probably just thrown the people a bone, right?
• 6:33
  I mean, there's got to be some progress in all of the projects
• 6:39
  that were announced. So people are going to go crazy
• 6:41
  for anything. You know, give us a little bit
• 6:43
  more on villains, give us a little bit more on rock and
• 6:45
  roller coaster. Give us, you know, Disney can't
• 6:48
  wait. They just can't wait sometimes.
• 6:50
  Like they have to put something out on social media, right?
• 6:52
  I mean, even that small video that they gave us about rock and
• 6:57
  roller coaster, what a couple years, a couple years, couple
• 6:59
  weeks back or whatever, a little easier with animal.

  And I think Fozzie was involved in something too.
• 7:04
  Of course, I think one was on a specific day of something.
• 7:07
  But hold back on those a few of those things and and just make a
• 7:11
  make a maybe make the parks panel shorter.

  I think people look forward to that kind of thing.

  But it's OK. And they hit us with the big
• 7:20
  news. Yeah, and I, I wonder if it is
• 7:23
  AI feel like it's a marketing thing.

  Like if you consistently have something, I don't want to say
• 7:31
  big, but something, you know, minor coming out all the time,
• 7:36
  then you know, it's it's it's a better marketing ploy because
• 7:40
  there's always news. It feels like there's always
• 7:42
  news coming out. I mean, for a while they, they
• 7:44
  were Wednesdays and Thursdays where it was like I had so much
• 7:48
  stuff to post all the time for the Disney Streamer Network that
• 7:52
  I, it was hard to, to keep up. So it was funny being in Florida
• 7:58
  during Destination D 23, but not going like I was there the whole
• 8:02
  weekend. But that's not why I was there.

  And and it was besides, I feel like besides the one big piece
• 8:11
  of news it, it probably wasn't worth the price of the ticket,
• 8:16
  right? You were paying to get in to
• 8:19
  shop pretty much right? I don't think so.

  I think that what they experienced for for they
• 8:30
  understood what the purpose of it was.

  The people that went so like for example, Josh was there and
• 8:37
  Doctor Disney was there and Doctor Disney experienced a lot
• 8:41
  of things that, you know, the rest of us could not.

  So, you know, the voices of The Goofy Movie were there on stage
• 8:52
  talking and then watching the movie and performing and.
• 8:57
  Yeah, those extra things, right? Like The Muppets were on stage.

  I forgot about that. Right.

  So those type of things, those type of events during those
• 9:04
  panels I think is really why they went.

  Now was it the same prices, the one in Florida?

  I mean in California, I don't know, but it certainly has me

  thinking about going to California next year and and

  taking a phone or two. Aha, yes, yes.

  Also, what is it? Is it next year already or the

  year after for Star Wars Celebration?

  50 years. Oh.

  The that'd be the year after, right 77.

  prize on that one. I alright, it's normally like

  April or something. So we might have to do that one.

  So some of the news was minor, some of it was a surprising I

  would say certainly didn't see some of the stuff coming out.

  Some of the minor ones like OK, but there was there were two big

  ones that came out of this that I was very shocked at.

  So I'm item one to me, Buzz Lightyear is coming back to the
• 11:13
  Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. He hasn't flown there since
• 11:18
  2013. So it's been a while for him.
• 11:20
  And he'll join Spider Man and Minnie Mouse flying, flying over
• 11:26
  the skies or in the skies in Manhattan.
• 11:30
  Do you watch? Now, I know this is a big day in
• 11:32
  your house, but not for the parade.
• 11:34
  I'm assuming it's for football. Do you guys watch the parade?
• 11:39
  So for many years now, Tammy demands that we record the
• 11:43
  parade because she's still preparing the meal and all that
• 11:46
  stuff. So we record it, then we watch
• 11:49
  football all day, then the next day goes by, then the next day
• 11:52
  goes by, then the next day goes by and so on.
• 11:55
  So no, we never end up watching it and we always intend to.
• 11:59
  I grew up with it, but we're on a little bit of a slump here.

  I thought you can tell me that you watch it around Christmas
• 12:06
  time. We pop it on in like April, you
• 12:10
  know? Scrolling through the through
• 12:12
  the DVD live, the DVR library and you're like, Oh yeah, you're
• 12:16
  great. Yeah.

  We really should watch this. Yeah, so they did also announce

  a couple movies here. So Hoppers, which comes out, I
• 12:29
  believe it's in March. We'll have that date later on.

  You have Toy Story 5, you have Gotto, which I'm sure a little
• 12:37
  girl in the next room is going to be ecstatic about,
• 12:41
  Incredibles 3 and Coco two of those.

  And then this goes way out to like 2028.

  I mean, they've just started working on Coco 2 and Frozen 3
• 12:53
  is another one. Frozen three and four are are
• 12:56
  also in the works. Of those, which has you most
• 13:01
  excited? Toy Story 5.

  I'm a big Toy Story fan and I'm excited to see where they'll
• 13:10
  take it this time. It I like the concept, you know,
• 13:13
  it's, it's easy, the script writes it, the idea writes
• 13:17
  itself because, you know, they probably sat down and said what
• 13:21
  what can disrupt this toy world now?
• 13:26
  And it's Oh well, electronics are are in every household with
• 13:31
  every child, so why not make the toys jealous of the electronics?
• 13:36
  Right. It's a pretty, pretty cool
• 13:39
  concept, especially, you know, now, now in 2025.

  So I I like that idea. Incredibles three.

  I have to go back and watch the other two probably to feel, you
• 13:54
  know, more connected to it. The other day I wanted to watch
• 13:58
  Coco and I just haven't. We got to sit down and watch

  that. And of course, so there's two
• 14:04
  new movies. Yeah, go ahead.

  Oh yeah, there's. 2 new movies there.

  Yeah, there's two new movies there.

  I have to see more. They're only teasing you.

  I haven't seen and I don't think they've really released much of
• 14:15
  anything besides the title. So I need to see more on that to

  see if I'd be excited about it. But I think they've done a

  pretty good job in the last couple of releases of original
• 14:25
  stuff that people ask for and then don't go watch it.

  So let's get out there everybody, and watch this stuff.

  Come on, get out there, buy that ticket.

  Support Disney on that because, you know, they, they put out, I
• 14:39
  don't know, it's that whole soapbox we get on, you know, Toy

  Story 5, but it works. It does work for them.

  But I don't understand this groups of people, right?

  There's some groups of people that, that want original
• 14:52
  content. And then when you know what,

  maybe when you put it out, those are the people that go see it.

  But then there's the other side where they, they want the other
• 14:59
  stuff. But have we lost the, the

  thought of, of the Disney name? Like when we were younger, you

  just went to everything Disney did.

  You just went and you knew quality was going to be stamped

  on it. You don't even question it, but
• 15:15
  it seems like these new ones are being questioned.

  Here's I think there's a couple things working against Disney

  being that celebrated in the theaters #1 the negative voices
• 15:31
  are much louder than the positive voices.

  OK, so they get on their little keyboards and they go crazy
• 15:43
  talking about trying to put down Disney and anything that they do
• 15:46
  that's new. The other thing is that, you
• 15:51
  know, you talked about it, you know, going to see Star Wars in
• 15:56
  the theaters, right as a kid having a line up, you know, for
• 16:02
  tickets. That doesn't happen anymore, you
• 16:05
  know, either for the expense. You know, it's not the same as,
• 16:10
  you know, what we used to pay. I used to as a high school kid,
• 16:13
  I could go afford, you know, my little once a day, once a week
• 16:17
  job. I could go afford to go to the
• 16:19
  movies that you can't do that now.
• 16:22
  But the other thing is you have already the live action Lilo and
• 16:30
  Stitch is already racked up like, I don't know, 143 million
• 16:36
  views or something like that on Disney Plus.
• 16:40
  What's it doing out on Disney Plus already?
• 16:42
  So they're, I believe, hurting themselves because these movies
• 16:47
  are being rushed to streaming platforms.
• 16:51
  So why would I go out and spend all this money to take a family
• 16:55
  of four to the movies when it's just going to be on in like a
• 17:00
  month, you know? So I think that's the, I think
• 17:04
  there's a couple of things working against them there.

  That's a great point with that. You know, times have changed and
• 17:09
  it wasn't like that before. I mean, if you want to go way
• 17:12
  back, it would be Toy Story. If Toy Story 5 was released in
• 17:16
  1980, even 8384 and maybe even 85.

  What's going to happen is if it if it was a hit, you're what are
• 17:27
  you going to say leave in the movies when this comes back to
• 17:30
  theaters? I'm going again, right.

  That was the only way to watch it and it would be re released,
• 17:35
  you know, for Christmas or a year later, returning to the
• 17:38
  screen Toy Story 5 and you go, but this is a platform.
• 17:43
  So you know, Disney's not dumb. Maybe maybe rushing it to Disney
• 17:48
  Plus actually does make them more money.
• 17:52
  It just doesn't post as a box office profit.
• 17:56
  But it keeps the Disney Plussers watching because there's got to
• 18:00
  be a level of people on Disney Plus that maybe they don't watch
• 18:03
  a lot of the, the, the the shows created for it, but they they
• 18:07
  keep it the movies, you know? So do you like things rushing to
• 18:13
  Disney Plus quickly? I I'm still old school.
• 18:18
  I like, I like the, the sequential order that it used to
• 18:24
  be in, you know, hits the movies and then it's there for a while
• 18:28
  and then it's pulled and then all of a sudden, poof, now it's
• 18:32
  back on. Heck, let's go back in the day.

  It's on VHS and you can get it through Columbia House.
• 18:39
  And then you, you know, then it's pulled again.
• 18:45
  It goes back into the vault and seven years later now it's on
• 18:49
  DVD and it's pulled again. It goes into the vault and seven
• 18:53
  years later, here it goes on Blu-ray.

  You know those things don't happen anymore.

  So it's just right away to Disney Plus.

  Yeah, this is the new world. I remember that.

  It was valuable. It was valuable.

  I was in the video rental business and all that stuff as a

  kid, as a younger kid, you know, with jobs and it was a hot item.

  You know, they they put out, they put out Cinderella or
• 19:17
  something. Oh, it's going to the vault next
• 19:19
  week. All, you know, all coming off
• 19:21
  the shelf and everybody would buy them, you know, and then
• 19:24
  they wait, they wait seven years for the next generation and
• 19:27
  boom, we can re energize it again and sell, you know,
• 19:30
  another million copies. So time to change.

  What's the 1 medium that you had that like looking at it now,
• 19:41
  you're like, why did I have that?

  I'll give you an example. I had a digital camera that took

  a floppy disk. Oh wow, I don't know if I really

  looked at anything like that because when new technology came
• 19:58
  out, it was the best ever, right?

  So even VHS was the best ever. I was just amazed as a movie
• 20:05
  lover at the VHS tape. I can put this movie in and

  watch it anytime I want. You know, then the DVR comes out

  and that was a life changing thing.

  Oh yeah. Oh, I can control TV and it

  doesn't control me. Now I I don't have to be in
• 20:23
  front of the TV at 8 AMI mean 8 PMI can sit down at 10 if I want

  to and watch what I and watch that same show.

  I pretty much bought every medium that came out, but there

  was like, was it like a mini 8 VHS or something?

  I I didn't beta, I didn't do beta.

  Yeah, yeah, we didn't, we didn't have we went straight BHS and in

  my house as a fan as a then. The DV DS and then Blu-ray and

  then I haven't bought anything higher than Blu-ray because then

  we just stream and yeah, now over the last few years we we're
• 20:57
  supporting the the theaters again.

  We're we're seeing everything in the theaters.

  So I'm not even seeing these Disney movies when they hit

  Disney Plus because I've seen them you've seen them in the

  theatre already. Yeah, So, yeah.

  remembers them. And the video wall we had what

  whatever was playing there was sent by laser disc.

  So we had, we had a laser disc. That's the only, that's the only

  time I ever touched a laser disc was at work.

  Never ever had one after that or before that.

  Tomorrowland Speedway is right in front of it, you have the

  overlay there. So maybe they'll do some, some

  red and green there. But no, this is this is set for

  Tron And so starting September 15th.

  So that's this this weekend really, Tron light cycle run

  will get the new red overlay and get the music from 9 inch nails

  to celebrate the new Tron heiress movie coming out.

  And I think we get it on the 15th and then Shanghai gets it

  on the 16th. Oh OK, so that'll be pretty cool

  to see it lit up in red, especially if they're right

  there in front where it says light cycle run.

  If that sign is in red, that'll be cool.

  Yeah, we definitely want to make sure we ride this.

  thing is now it gives people another reason.

  If you've always skipped Tron, starting September 15th, you're

  going to get people that want to go back and ride Tron.

  today and actually had a perfect no lag stream of Tron.

  So it is out there. Go go do Tron another movie

  coming out Ice Age boiling .2027.

  And I believe that you talked about this.

  So I'm thinking will Ice Age, could this be one of the better

  ones or the best one that they've done because Disney's

  involved, you know, the jury's out on that.

  But I would be interested to see how good this is with the Disney

  imprint on it. And it's, you know, Ice Age has

  been around for so long. I honestly don't know how many

  and two and enjoyed them, but what's most enjoyable is Scrat
