Starting August 15, 2026, the UK will ban TPO — the chemical in gel nail polishes that cures under UV light — from new cosmetics across England, Scotland, and Wales. Salons can still offer gel manicures; the ban targets the ingredient, not the service. While current stock won’t be recalled, no new TPO products can enter the market after August 2026, with a final cutoff for sales set for February 14, 2027.
