- 0:13Speaker 3: And Matt Lynn.
- 0:14Speaker 4: Terrifying and terrible.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Live from the.
- 0:18Speaker 5: Haunted Raising Cane's.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Studio, here's Jacob Hester.
- 0:22Speaker 3: And Matt Lynn.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Welcome in OTV here on this Monday, Monday, Monday.
- 0:56Speaker 6: Jake Flynn, Alondra, Tay-Tay, all here with you live inside
- 1:00Speaker 6: the Raising Cane Studio. And for the first time, In
- 1:08Speaker 6: 763 days, we get to come here on a Monday
- 1:12Speaker 6: morning and celebrate an LSU victory and also a New
- 1:19Speaker 6: Orleans Saints victory.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Let's give it a round of applause, people.
- 1:25Speaker 6: 763 days it's been since we've been able to come
- 1:28Speaker 6: to you.
- 1:29Speaker 3: And celebrate victory for both LSU and the Saints.
- 1:33Speaker 5: In the football world. In the locker room, you call
- 1:36Speaker 5: this a victory Monday. Yes, you do. It is time
- 1:39Speaker 5: to celebrate. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Whatever you want to do,
- 1:43Speaker 5: it is a victory Monday for the Saints and the
- 1:48Speaker 5: LSU Tigers.
- 1:50Speaker 6: And actually, the last time that it happened, it was
- 1:54Speaker 6: that LSU victory at South Carolina, which almost didn't happen.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. It would have been longer, but it happened.
- 2:01Speaker 3: You got that dub.
- 2:01Speaker 5: That's when Lenore Sellers got hurt.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yep.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Yeah. They're still holding on that.
- 2:08Speaker 6: If you bring that game up, it's about.
- 2:11Speaker 3: 03 seconds before Marler brings it up. Oh, for sure.
- 2:15Speaker 5: I'm surprised he didn't pop his head through that door
- 2:17Speaker 5: right then.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Well, he woke up.
- 2:18Speaker 5: You watched the second half of that game, Matt? Did
- 2:20Speaker 5: you watch? Door sells. I swear to God, he's good.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Anyways. And the Saints did try to screw it up.
- 2:27Speaker 3: They did. That did happen. They let nine come in
- 2:30Speaker 3: there and get hot.
- 2:32Speaker 7: That's... I love how he's 18, so now he's twice
- 2:36Speaker 7: as good. He's just like, he's going to roll now.
- 2:38Speaker 5: I know. Look out, Jackson. Jackson with an X and
- 2:43Speaker 5: an S.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Jackson.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Jackson's son.
- 2:45Speaker 8: And what's going on with Cam Scadaboo?
- 2:49Speaker 3: He can't hold on to the football.
- 2:50Speaker 5: He got in trouble.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:52Speaker 5: I don't even know if it's that. It might be
- 2:54Speaker 5: more than that. He might have showed up late to
- 2:56Speaker 5: a meeting.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Could have. It could have. It was definitely the fumbling issues. Yeah.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Because before the game, Shefty had something he put out there. Like, hey,
- 3:04Speaker 6: his workload's not going to be the same. Tyrone Tracy,
- 3:08Speaker 6: I think he was the leading guy with six carries.
- 3:11Speaker 5: He was the leading guy with six carries?
- 3:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:14Speaker 9: That makes me so mad because I was like, oh,
- 3:16Speaker 9: I know what I'm about to do. I'm going to
- 3:18Speaker 9: start Najee Harris.
- 3:19Speaker 8: Nah. That was just a bad.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Najee had four carries for two yards.
- 3:24Speaker 5: Hell yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 8: You know what Alvin Kamara had on my bench? More
- 3:29Speaker 8: than that.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Yeah, he had seven for 34.
- 3:30Speaker 5: He wasn't going to get you a bunch anyway.
- 3:36Speaker 3: We'll get to the game. C.J.
- 3:38Speaker 6: Donaldson was actually toting that thing, and then he fumbled.
- 3:41Speaker 3: It's like, oh, come on over here.
- 3:44Speaker 5: It was a scataboo. I know.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Oh, Kendrick. Yeah, again, under four yards.
- 3:52Speaker 2: J.J.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Threw for 243 in one quarter.
- 3:56Speaker 5: He's also their leading rusher.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Most of all time in like a.
- 4:00Speaker 5: What?
- 4:01Speaker 6: Fifth most in all time? Like in a fourth quarter
- 4:03Speaker 6: or some situation, yeah. I saw some random stat. I'm like, well, hell,
- 4:07Speaker 6: that makes sense. You throw for 243 in a single quarter.
- 4:10Speaker 5: I was looking at scrolling the socials last night, and
- 4:14Speaker 5: of course, I don't know. For whatever reason, my timeline
- 4:17Speaker 5: loves the hate on Justin Herbert. I don't understand why.
- 4:20Speaker 5: I don't know if everybody's is like that.
- 4:21Speaker 8: I have no idea why you're in timeline.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Maybe because I screenshot them all to show Jake.
- 4:26Speaker 3: And I think you also, your phone hears you. Yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 3: probably so. What do you mean?
- 4:31Speaker 8: You curate your algorithm.
- 4:33Speaker 5: So the one that made me laugh last night was
- 4:36Speaker 5: season high for Justin Herbert, 226 yards.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 5: JJ McCarthy, fourth quarter versus Saints, 243 yards. Made me laugh.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Brutal.
- 4:47Speaker 5: God, if only the Chargers had nine.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Hell, I think.
- 4:53Speaker 8: They're a nine away from.
- 4:54Speaker 6: I think my 10U Chargers, I swear to God I
- 4:56Speaker 6: mean this, I think my 10U Chargers threw for more
- 4:59Speaker 6: than 240 last night.
- 5:01Speaker 5: Well, that's not a very long field.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, the Chiefs beat the hell out of them.
- 5:07Speaker 3: We're not here to talk about losers. We're here to
- 5:09Speaker 3: talk about winners.
- 5:11Speaker 5: Good, that means we're skipping the Cowboys. Ah, yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 3: The Cowboys suck.
- 5:16Speaker 5: They're bad.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I actually picked them to win that game.
- 5:21Speaker 5: Guys, the Packers are just really good. I think two
- 5:24Speaker 5: things can be true at the same time.
- 5:27Speaker 7: I think Jordan Love could be playing really well, and
- 5:29Speaker 7: I think the team they play could also be ass.
- 5:33Speaker 6: I do give Jordan Love a lot of credit because
- 5:36Speaker 6: they still can't run the football. And again, we'll get
- 5:38Speaker 6: to all these games. I mean, they are horrendous. It
- 5:42Speaker 6: might be the worst rushing team in the history of
- 5:44Speaker 6: football by the end of the year.
- 5:45Speaker 5: And it's not even the running back. They're getting hit
- 5:47Speaker 5: behind the line of scrimmage most of the times that
- 5:50Speaker 5: they're running. Oof. Matthew Golden. Okay.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Yeah, we're not getting into that. It's not about these
- 5:54Speaker 3: people right now.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Not about them.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Are you trying to bring up the Chargers and the Packers?
- 5:57Speaker 3: Not about them right now, buddy.
- 5:59Speaker 8: This hasn't happened in.
- 6:01Speaker 3: What, 753 days? 763 days, and you keep trying to
- 6:03Speaker 3: change the subject.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Squirrel.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 8: Taylor hates LSU and the Saints.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Yeah, right.
- 6:10Speaker 8: Doesn't want to let them shine.
- 6:11Speaker 5: Look at this hoodie. LSU.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Yeah, you got a new hoodie that you didn't even
- 6:15Speaker 6: wear down the Victory Hill. They're going to get a
- 6:18Speaker 6: new hoodie to walk down the hill, and then you
- 6:20Speaker 6: didn't wear it.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Or white.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Yeah. Hey. After Labor Day. Where's your school pride, bud?
- 6:26Speaker 5: It's tacky. What are you talking about?
- 6:29Speaker 8: He did have a my high hat on.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but you wouldn't got that hoodie to walk down
- 6:34Speaker 3: the hill.
- 6:34Speaker 5: I know, but it was a little too hot. I
- 6:35Speaker 5: put it on in the morning. It was a little
- 6:36Speaker 5: too hot. I was really enjoying the weather. It was
- 6:39Speaker 5: pretty chilly.
- 6:39Speaker 8: I was freezing.
- 6:40Speaker 5: I was loving it.
- 6:41Speaker 3: I didn't say I didn't like it. Okay.
- 6:45Speaker 5: Plus, how long was the tiger walk? I mean, you
- 6:47Speaker 5: just pull it off after. You worry about your clothes.
- 6:50Speaker 6: I mean, you go to the equipment room, you say, hey,
- 6:53Speaker 6: I need this because I'm walking down the hill, and
- 6:54Speaker 6: they give it to you because they think, oh, yeah,
- 6:57Speaker 6: we want you to look.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Good walking down the hill, and then you don't wear it.
- 6:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought it looked better than the other thing.
- 7:04Speaker 8: Did you talk to Willie?
- 7:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Sure did.
- 7:08Speaker 3: What did he say? Did you say 3183 wasn't great
- 7:09Speaker 3: to him? What did y'all talk about?
- 7:11Speaker 5: No, I didn't, but I was like, oh, my God,
- 7:13Speaker 5: the amount of times I hear 318 every day.
- 7:14Speaker 3: You should have.
- 7:15Speaker 5: It's nauseating. Yeah.
- 7:17Speaker 3: You probably didn't say that to him, though.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I did.
- 7:19Speaker 3: No, I thought.
- 7:20Speaker 5: Sat with them for a while over at the Lot
- 7:22Speaker 5: Cook before we got on the bus.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Went over there.
- 7:26Speaker 8: Did you get some cookies?
- 7:28Speaker 5: I didn't get any cookies. I didn't see any cookies.
- 7:31Speaker 5: But I didn't really look around. You know, it's kind
- 7:34Speaker 5: of like. You could probably imagine. It's not intense, but
- 7:38Speaker 5: it's like. I go to the Lot Cook and I'm like, man.
- 7:43Speaker 3: That's intense, not intense.
- 7:45Speaker 5: I don't feel like I belong here. Like, and I'm
- 7:48Speaker 5: just kind of like.
- 7:48Speaker 8: You felt kind of awkward?
- 7:49Speaker 5: You go find, like, the couple people you know, and
- 7:51Speaker 5: you kind of, like, stand by them and talk to
- 7:53Speaker 5: them a little bit. It's not like I'm roaming around, like,
- 7:55Speaker 5: what do we got on this buffet line over here?
- 7:57Speaker 5: Y'all got any to-go boxes?
- 8:01Speaker 3: So you found Marushi? Yeah, for sure. You said there
- 8:04Speaker 3: were Jack? Yep, so it was, but it was good.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Then I saw, and I saw Willie, and so, okay,
- 8:11Speaker 5: so I was going to wear my poncho shirt.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Legitimate thought came into my head.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I hate this already.
- 8:17Speaker 5: Okay, so, of course, like, the light purple. Everyone's, like,
- 8:21Speaker 5: trying to buy that one.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 5: It's been sold out, like, multiple times. Yeah. I didn't
- 8:25Speaker 5: wear it. One, it was cold. It was cool. And
- 8:27Speaker 5: I was going to have to, like, wear this or
- 8:28Speaker 5: something over it. But two, I was like, man, I
- 8:31Speaker 5: know Willie. He's a poncho guy, too.
- 8:32Speaker 3: He's a poncho guy, too.
- 8:34Speaker 5: I was like, odds are he's going to wear that.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:38Speaker 5: And we're not going to wear the same thing. So
- 8:40Speaker 5: I'm going to think ahead of this. I'm going to
- 8:42Speaker 5: get ahead of this.
- 8:43Speaker 3: I got you.
- 8:44Speaker 5: And I'm not going to wear that one because I'm
- 8:45Speaker 5: pretty sure he's going to wear it.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:47Speaker 5: Because, I don't know, Willie's busy. You know, he's busier
- 8:49Speaker 5: than I am probably. He's not going to think about that. Right.
- 8:51Speaker 5: He's not going to know I'm a poncho person or
- 8:53Speaker 5: even if, like, I'm walking down the hill.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 5: So I didn't do it. So I went with the hoodie. Yeah.
- 9:00Speaker 5: And then, so I get there, start talking to him.
- 9:04Speaker 5: He thought the same thing.
- 9:08Speaker 3: He thought, well, I'm just going to wear the purple poncho.
- 9:10Speaker 3: But none of us did it.
- 9:13Speaker 9: Oh, man.
- 9:15Speaker 5: He wore a sweet camo in that.
- 9:16Speaker 7: It's like the opposite of the Spider-Man meme when they're
- 9:18Speaker 7: in the same thing and.
- 9:19Speaker 5: They're pointing at each other.
- 9:19Speaker 3: You're like. Exactly.
- 9:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:21Speaker 3: So it's good. So he's still represented. He did.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 9:26Speaker 3: I did too. Tigers.
- 9:28Speaker 8: What did you say to Lane that made him laugh?
- 9:31Speaker 5: Probably just some sweet joke. I don't remember.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I bet you weren't super awkward at all. I bet
- 9:39Speaker 3: you were smooth.
- 9:40Speaker 5: Well, it's funny because I rode on bus two. So
- 9:43Speaker 5: I sat next to Blake. Yeah.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Chatted up.
- 9:46Speaker 5: And again, but I was like, oh man, this is,
- 9:48Speaker 5: there's not a lot of instruction, right? So I get
- 9:50Speaker 5: there and it's like, and they're like, yeah, you're just
- 9:53Speaker 5: going to jump a bus too. I'm like, all right,
- 9:54Speaker 5: is there a seat? Like, am I going to sit
- 9:56Speaker 5: on the stairs at the front.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Of the bus?
- 9:58Speaker 6: This is funny because like, with the team for the
- 10:01Speaker 6: last couple of years, and I know exactly.
- 10:03Speaker 3: What you mean.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Everybody is already seated.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Right.
- 10:06Speaker 5: I don't know if it was a defensive bus or what.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Yeah, defensive bus two.
- 10:09Speaker 5: I'm like, all right, I'm just going to go. I'm
- 10:11Speaker 5: just going to take a seat. And I'm like, Blake,
- 10:14Speaker 5: you mind if I sit here? Yeah. He's like, yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 5: go ahead. So I sit down, and I can tell
- 10:21Speaker 5: he's pausing his music and stuff. I'm like, dude, I
- 10:24Speaker 5: get it. I had a pregame music playlist. Play your music.
- 10:30Speaker 5: I'm kind of the intruder in this thing. But it
- 10:33Speaker 5: was good. It was good. And I got off the bus, too,
- 10:36Speaker 5: and met Lane for the first time. First time I
- 10:38Speaker 5: met him.
- 10:39Speaker 6: Somebody was asking me, they were like, hey, has he
- 10:41Speaker 6: talked to him before? I said, actually, I don't think
- 10:43Speaker 6: he has.
- 10:43Speaker 5: I have not. That was the first time I met him.
- 10:45Speaker 5: First time. Right on top of the hill. But it
- 10:49Speaker 5: was good. It was fun. It was great.
- 10:50Speaker 6: You did lead the Tigers down Victor Hill for their
- 10:53Speaker 6: first shutout since.
- 10:56Speaker 3: First SEC shutout since when?
- 10:58Speaker 7: 1958.
- 11:00Speaker 5: No. Okay.
- 11:03Speaker 3: That wasn't real, by the way. Listeners, that wasn't real.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Don't drive off the road.
- 11:08Speaker 6: First SEC shutout for the LSU Fighting Tigers since.
- 11:13Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 11:15Speaker 3: You were there.
- 11:16Speaker 6: You.
- 11:17Speaker 5: You played a role in the game, yeah. Did I?
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you were there.
- 11:20Speaker 5: If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's Mississippi State.
- 11:25Speaker 5: I don't know. No idea.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Taylor, do you know?
- 11:27Speaker 7: I was going to say state opener 2007. Did they
- 11:29Speaker 7: score late?
- 11:31Speaker 3: 2007, Mississippi State. Really? Opener. Thursday night. Craig Seltz just
- 11:36Speaker 3: got another interception.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Huh.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Yeah. For his 14th of the game.
- 11:39Speaker 5: That was the last SEC shutout. Good for them.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 8: And we love shutting out Mississippi State.
- 11:45Speaker 6: Before that, the last home SEC shutout was, you were there.
- 11:51Speaker 5: Again? Mississippi State.
- 11:53Speaker 3: But you weren't, like, you were a part of it.
- 11:56Speaker 3: I was there.
- 11:56Speaker 5: I was fake signaling?
- 11:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:57Speaker 5: Oh, three?
- 11:59Speaker 2: No.
- 12:00Speaker 3: You might want to guess the last home SEC shutout.
- 12:05Speaker 5: It's got to be Mississippi State.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I can't believe y'all don't remember. I mean, I scored
- 12:09Speaker 3: two touchdowns in the game. God, God. 2006 Kentucky at home.
- 12:17Speaker 5: All right. So what you're saying, it's been a while.
- 12:21Speaker 5: It's been 20 years.
- 12:23Speaker 3: That was my point.
- 12:24Speaker 5: Are you saying that from now on they're going to
- 12:26Speaker 5: make me come sit by Blake Baker?
- 12:27Speaker 3: Yes. That was my whole point. You sat next to
- 12:30Speaker 3: the defensive coordinator and they.
- 12:31Speaker 6: Got their first SEC shutout in 20 years.
- 12:34Speaker 8: Did you show him eye in the sky?
- 12:35Speaker 5: We talked about life. He was asking me what to
- 12:38Speaker 5: do to get some coverages and, you know. Just kidding.
- 12:42Speaker 3: He wasn't. No, babe, we knew.
- 12:44Speaker 5: You aren't like, are you serious? Wasn't asking your opinion on.
- 12:48Speaker 3: X's and O's?
- 12:49Speaker 6: Now, he might have done some form of that. I
- 12:53Speaker 6: like talking with him on the road, like a little
- 12:55Speaker 6: Friday night snack. That's what me and Blake do. So
- 12:59Speaker 6: he might have.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I just don't know if he was talking coverages with you.
- 13:02Speaker 5: What should I do if they line up in three
- 13:04Speaker 5: by one? Did you tell him? Yeah, shut him out, obviously.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Touche.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Touche.
- 13:12Speaker 6: All right, so we will break down, obviously, in full detail, LSU,
- 13:16Speaker 6: Mississippi State, the Saints, and the Giants. What a crazy,
- 13:21Speaker 6: absolute bonkers weekend it was, not only in college football,
- 13:26Speaker 6: but in the NFL as well.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I mean, if you think you've got it figured out,
- 13:30Speaker 3: you have no idea.
- 13:31Speaker 5: It was like a 2007 type. That season, how crazy
- 13:35Speaker 5: that season was, how many ones and twos went down.
- 13:38Speaker 5: This weekend felt like.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Back-to-back weeks. Number one team in the country lost to
- 13:43Speaker 3: an unranked team. Amazing.
- 13:45Speaker 6: Back-to-back weeks. All right, we will take a break. When
- 13:48Speaker 6: we come back, well, we'll start that process of going
- 13:50Speaker 6: through these games. We'll do it right here on OTB.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Off the bench.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 14:43Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in OTB.
- 14:48Speaker 6: LSU dominates Mississippi State 31 to nothing. And they scored
- 14:53Speaker 6: early and they scored often in this game and was
- 14:57Speaker 6: just what they needed after coming off a disappointing loss
- 15:01Speaker 6: at Kentucky.
- 15:02Speaker 3: You're able to put the game away early.
- 15:05Speaker 6: You're able to get some guys off the field that
- 15:09Speaker 6: probably needed a little bit of an extra rest. In
- 15:12Speaker 6: the fourth quarter, which is very hard to do, obviously,
- 15:14Speaker 6: in an SEC game, but you controlled this game from
- 15:18Speaker 6: the very get-go. Sam Levitt, career-high 31 completions on 38 attempts,
- 15:23Speaker 6: 289 yards, four touchdowns. More importantly, his first game this
- 15:27Speaker 6: year without an interception.
- 15:28Speaker 5: Yeah, all right.
- 15:29Speaker 3: That's a big deal.
- 15:31Speaker 6: I thought Dylan Jones had a great workman's type day
- 15:34Speaker 6: at running back. 18 carries for 84 yards, 4.7 yards
- 15:38Speaker 6: per carry. Also added eight catches for 58 yards. That's become...
- 15:42Speaker 6: the last two weeks, that's become something that Sam Levitt
- 15:45Speaker 6: has utilized. And I think it's actually helped him a
- 15:48Speaker 6: ton to be able to have that outlet to the
- 15:50Speaker 6: running back.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Yeah. Dylan Jones has been a safety blanket a little
- 15:54Speaker 5: bit for Sam Levitt out there. And that's exactly what
- 15:57Speaker 5: you want. That is a, that is, I'm using that
- 16:01Speaker 5: term in a very good way. Like you always want
- 16:04Speaker 5: your running back to be a weapon and to be
- 16:07Speaker 5: trustworthy enough to be in the spot that you need
- 16:09Speaker 5: him to be that outlet, be that safety valve. Um,
- 16:13Speaker 5: You and I talk about it all the time. That
- 16:15Speaker 5: was one of the greatest things I learned when I
- 16:17Speaker 5: got to the NFL was always know where your running
- 16:19Speaker 5: back is. Always talk to your running back. Make sure
- 16:21Speaker 5: the running back is the last person you talk to
- 16:23Speaker 5: before you say hi. Yeah. Every single time. So you
- 16:26Speaker 5: know where he is. Now, some of this stuff, he's
- 16:28Speaker 5: an empty. So you're not really necessarily talking to him.
- 16:31Speaker 5: But he's there. And whether he's doing it split out wide,
- 16:36Speaker 5: trying to, you know, you run that look where you
- 16:38Speaker 5: split your running back out wide, you get a good
- 16:40Speaker 5: zone man, you know, pre-snap read. But last week in Kentucky,
- 16:44Speaker 5: they were just giving him hitch routes outside. And that
- 16:47Speaker 5: happens most of the time when running backs are split out.
- 16:50Speaker 3: A running back's usually out there for a decoy.
- 16:52Speaker 5: A decoy. Usually the guy's going to back off. Even
- 16:55Speaker 5: if they're playing zone, you've got a good corner on
- 16:57Speaker 5: the running back. He's going to kind of slough off
- 17:00Speaker 5: a little bit and try to steal the inside route
- 17:02Speaker 5: or steal the seam or something like that. And usually
- 17:06Speaker 5: they're open. Unless, like, you run a linebacker out there,
- 17:10Speaker 5: he probably won't be because he's going to be, like,
- 17:11Speaker 5: all fired up. A linebacker's going to be fired up
- 17:13Speaker 5: to cover the running back one-on-one because they don't ever
- 17:15Speaker 5: get to do that. They'll probably think it's fun.
- 17:18Speaker 6: And for Sam Leavitt, like, he's doing a really good
- 17:20Speaker 6: job of, oh, corner's out there.
- 17:22Speaker 3: All right, it's zone. Let me just go ahead and
- 17:25Speaker 3: get the ball. I'm going to go with my.
- 17:26Speaker 6: Eyes at the beginning, look down the field, and quickly
- 17:29Speaker 6: get– like, if he sees zone, it's almost like he's
- 17:31Speaker 6: automatically going to take that free 8 to 12 yards.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Yeah, and they were certainly– playing a decent amount of
- 17:39Speaker 5: zone this past weekend. And there's been so much progression
- 17:43Speaker 5: with Sam Leavitt, so much progression throughout the season. And that's,
- 17:47Speaker 5: of course, that's what you want, especially with college-age quarterbacks.
- 17:50Speaker 5: You want them to progress. We saw him progress in
- 17:53Speaker 5: the past game after his hamstring. And then I'm sure
- 17:56Speaker 5: these coaches have been harping on him, harping on him,
- 17:58Speaker 5: like coaching him every single day about going through his progression,
- 18:01Speaker 5: going through his reads, slowing down. Well, he's doing all that.
- 18:05Speaker 5: And yes, against zone, there's sometimes you have these pass plays.
- 18:09Speaker 5: You have these route progressions that you know aren't the
- 18:12Speaker 5: greatest versus zone, but you know you have a good
- 18:14Speaker 5: outlet to your check down. So you take a drop
- 18:16Speaker 5: back and you get to the back of your drop.
- 18:18Speaker 5: And if it's not there, if the route has not
- 18:21Speaker 5: presented itself, the concept hasn't presented itself, your read has
- 18:24Speaker 5: not taken you and no one's showing right now. Go
- 18:27Speaker 5: ahead and get it against zone. Go ahead and get
- 18:28Speaker 5: it to your right of back. Let him go get it.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Let him put his foot in the ground. And he's shown, like,
- 18:32Speaker 5: Dylan's so sudden. Like, he can turn a four-yard reception
- 18:35Speaker 5: into a six, seven, eight, ten-yard reception in no time. So,
- 18:40Speaker 5: as a quarterback, yes, there's a lot of times in
- 18:43Speaker 5: zone where you could sit there, hold the ball, wait, wait, wait,
- 18:45Speaker 5: because you think something might come open behind it. Especially
- 18:50Speaker 5: normal down a distance early in the game, just like
- 18:52Speaker 5: we saw. Like, look, get the ball out of your hand.
- 18:55Speaker 5: And let's move, let's move, let's just move the stakes.
- 18:58Speaker 5: And so Sam is doing that. He's made a lot
- 18:59Speaker 5: of progressions just playing the quarterback position, and this was
- 19:03Speaker 5: one of his best outings for sure.
- 19:05Speaker 6: Yeah, speaking of progressing as the season goes along, how
- 19:08Speaker 6: about receiver Jackson Harris? He had six catches, 85 yards,
- 19:12Speaker 6: and two touchdowns. Now he did have to leave early
- 19:15Speaker 6: with an injury, so we'll pay attention to that this
- 19:17Speaker 6: week as they get ready to travel to Auburn. But
- 19:19Speaker 6: he has become, without a doubt for me, the most
- 19:22Speaker 6: trusted guy to Sam Levitt since Trey Des Green has
- 19:24Speaker 6: been out. And we've been waiting on somebody to kind
- 19:27Speaker 6: of step up and take that role. It is Jackson Harris.
- 19:29Speaker 6: You can tell on money downs, he wants to try
- 19:32Speaker 6: to get the football to number four. Number four, he's
- 19:36Speaker 6: shown strong hands. And he's been able to have contested catches.
- 19:40Speaker 6: And you needed somebody to emerge to be that guy.
- 19:44Speaker 6: And hopefully, again, I don't know what his injury and
- 19:47Speaker 6: severity of it, at least, and what it's going to
- 19:49Speaker 6: look like.
- 19:50Speaker 3: For the rest of this week.
- 19:51Speaker 6: But Jackson Harris unquestionably has become Sam Levitt's favorite target.
- 19:55Speaker 5: Yeah, he is certainly one of those guys that has
- 19:58Speaker 5: progressed a ton. He's just become– and a lot of
- 20:02Speaker 5: times when you have a big game as a receiver,
- 20:03Speaker 5: it's just kind of how the chips fall in the
- 20:07Speaker 5: game plan. You're not necessarily designing plays all the time
- 20:10Speaker 5: to go to a certain person. Now, sometimes you do
- 20:13Speaker 5: as a coordinator, but sometimes it's just do you have
- 20:17Speaker 5: the right route against the right coverage? Does the quarterback
- 20:21Speaker 5: see you? Sometimes you're number one in the route concept
- 20:24Speaker 5: against cover three, but you might be number three in
- 20:27Speaker 5: the route concept versus cover two. So a lot of
- 20:30Speaker 5: that is fortune sometimes and making sure everything falls the
- 20:33Speaker 5: right direction, but the coaches have done a really nice
- 20:35Speaker 5: job of getting him lined up pre-snap into the places
- 20:38Speaker 5: where he's going to be at the top of the
- 20:40Speaker 5: progression every time. So it's, and he's doing a great,
- 20:44Speaker 5: like once the ball's in his hand, like that first
- 20:46Speaker 5: touchdown he scored was awesome. It was, it was awesome
- 20:50Speaker 5: individual effort by him, but then an awesome team effort
- 20:53Speaker 5: to get him into the end zone.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:54Speaker 5: That's, you know, it hurts you one week and then
- 20:57Speaker 5: helps you.
- 20:58Speaker 3: If they would have.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Called for progress stopped, I was going to go down
- 21:01Speaker 6: there and have a really strong conversation with the official.
- 21:06Speaker 3: No, you don't do that.
- 21:07Speaker 5: How would you have started the convo?
- 21:08Speaker 3: Look here, buddy.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Look here, pal.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Zebra.
- 21:13Speaker 5: I'm going to get you.
- 21:14Speaker 6: Jackson Harris now has five touchdowns in the last three
- 21:17Speaker 6: SEC games. He had two against A & M, one
- 21:20Speaker 6: against Kentucky, two against Mississippi State. So certainly somebody that
- 21:24Speaker 6: has been raising his level of play. And again, you're
- 21:27Speaker 6: pretty close to the initial reports, you know, trade as green,
- 21:32Speaker 6: Alabama game. You're pretty close, right? You get him back
- 21:34Speaker 6: and Look, we don't really know what it's going to
- 21:37Speaker 6: be like. Trades has missed a lot of games in
- 21:38Speaker 6: a row now. But once you get him back and
- 21:41Speaker 6: you have a guy like a Jackson Harris that has
- 21:43Speaker 6: emerged and become somebody that Sam Leavitt can trust, it's
- 21:48Speaker 6: only going to go up when you get Trades Green
- 21:50Speaker 6: back in there.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Yeah, man. Was he wearing a boot? Who? Harris? I
- 22:00Speaker 5: saw a clip of somebody. And I was going through
- 22:02Speaker 5: social media because somebody came out of the tent on Saturday.
- 22:07Speaker 3: I know it probably was him because I think it
- 22:11Speaker 3: was an ankle.
- 22:11Speaker 8: Wait, what was your question?
- 22:13Speaker 5: Was he wearing a Harris?
- 22:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 5: Harris was wearing a boot coming out of the tent.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Because Gordy on the broadcast said it was ankle related. Yeah.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Just hope it's low. Hope it's low and not high.
- 22:24Speaker 3: If it's high, we'll see you in Alabama.
- 22:27Speaker 5: I mean, it's not the best thing to come out
- 22:31Speaker 5: of the tent on the sideline with a boot.
- 22:33Speaker 6: Now, I will say, and Doc would tell us this, too,
- 22:35Speaker 6: if he was here, LSU will throw out a boot
- 22:38Speaker 6: real quick.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Real quick.
- 22:41Speaker 6: Like, guys that have played on Saturday have gotten on
- 22:44Speaker 6: the plane on Friday in a boot.
- 22:45Speaker 7: Well, people see a boot, and they're like, oh, crap,
- 22:47Speaker 7: they broke something. It just stabilizes the ankle or the
- 22:50Speaker 7: foot or whatever you're looking for.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Yeah, J-Bone's had a high ankle. He's been wearing a boot.
- 22:54Speaker 5: I mean, I get it. Boots are good.
- 22:56Speaker 3: No, I'm saying, but if it's a high ankle, he's
- 22:58Speaker 3: not playing.
- 22:59Speaker 5: During game, it's a little alarming.
- 23:01Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 5: It hit five touchdowns.
- 23:09Speaker 6: I'm here in the first time in 763 days we
- 23:13Speaker 6: get to celebrate a Saints and LSU victory, and this
- 23:15Speaker 6: is what you bring?
- 23:17Speaker 5: I'm celebrating.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Negative energy?
- 23:19Speaker 5: I'm celebrating. I also want him to be healthy. Who's
- 23:24Speaker 5: a good comp for him?
- 23:25Speaker 8: Jackson Harris?
- 23:27Speaker 9: I don't know, but I'm glad that he's starting to
- 23:29Speaker 9: finally get a lot of targets and stuff because I
- 23:31Speaker 9: feel like he was always open when Sam was kind
- 23:34Speaker 9: of Bean Sam at the beginning of the season.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Doing his hoppy thing. Yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 3: He's been really good.
- 23:40Speaker 8: He's so good.
- 23:41Speaker 5: He's been very good. Let's see how tall he is.
- 23:44Speaker 3: How tall is Harris?
- 23:46Speaker 9: 6'4? 6'2.
- 23:47Speaker 3: 6'2?
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:47Speaker 5: I was thinking Wilson. He's listed as 6'3. Michael Wilson. Yep.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Michael Wilson. First name that popped up. Oh, there's like
- 23:56Speaker 5: a receiver from like the.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Tell me which team. I can get you there.
- 24:01Speaker 5: I want to say it's another Cardinals receiver.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Boldy? And Quan Bolden?
- 24:05Speaker 7: No.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Early Doucette? Yeah.
- 24:11Speaker 6: I don't know, but, yeah, you needed it. He's been
- 24:13Speaker 6: that guy in the last couple of weeks. He has
- 24:16Speaker 6: certainly been somebody you can count on. So, again, we'll
- 24:19Speaker 6: hear from Lane a little bit later today in his
- 24:21Speaker 6: press conference.
- 24:22Speaker 3: On the show? No, not on this show. But, I mean,
- 24:25Speaker 3: you were supposed to close that at the top of
- 24:27Speaker 3: the hill this weekend. You didn't do that.
- 24:30Speaker 5: He was asking me about coverages again. Blake was asking
- 24:35Speaker 5: me on the bus there.
- 24:36Speaker 3: So they just hit you from all angles, huh? Oh, yeah.
- 24:38Speaker 5: I was like, what should we do with this? That's
- 24:40Speaker 5: pretty much the whole conversation.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Did you give him a couple of quarter speeders? Yeah.
- 24:44Speaker 5: That's why he's laughing. You asked me earlier.
- 24:46Speaker 8: Oh, because you were, yeah.
- 24:47Speaker 5: I gave him a good play. So Sam's performance was
- 24:50Speaker 5: kind of on you. Yeah, like three of those touchdowns
- 24:53Speaker 5: was what.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I told him to do. So the shutout and Sam's performance.
- 24:56Speaker 5: Yes. For sure.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Both sides of the football.
- 24:59Speaker 5: Special teams do. Do you just get credited for this win?
- 25:01Speaker 5: Like Lane doesn't get this win as a head coach.
- 25:03Speaker 5: This is all you. I should. I mean, there is
- 25:06Speaker 5: video proof of him being so happy that he laughs.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Fair enough.
- 25:13Speaker 6: If we switch over to the other side of the
- 25:15Speaker 6: football for LSU and we realize that they were down
- 25:18Speaker 6: a couple of offensive players, but still it's an SEC
- 25:22Speaker 6: football team. You got to go out there. You got
- 25:23Speaker 6: to play. And that's exactly what the LSU defense did.
- 25:26Speaker 3: T.J.
- 25:27Speaker 6: Dottery had 12 tackles in the game. Devon Keyes had
- 25:29Speaker 6: 10 tackles on the game. Also added half a sack
- 25:33Speaker 6: in one and a half TFLs. Jordan Ross got back
- 25:36Speaker 6: into the conversation. He gets a sack in two and
- 25:39Speaker 6: a half TFLs as well. A dominant performance by the
- 25:43Speaker 6: LSU defense.
- 25:44Speaker 3: They were flying around. They had a purpose.
- 25:47Speaker 6: Even when the backups got in there, I was proud
- 25:49Speaker 6: of the backups because I was going to be really
- 25:50Speaker 6: angry if they gave up a shutout.
- 25:53Speaker 3: And look, you've been on the sidelines.
- 25:54Speaker 6: You know when the first team defense does what they
- 25:56Speaker 6: did and the backups get in there, they want that
- 26:00Speaker 6: shutout so bad. And then the backups got in there
- 26:03Speaker 6: and Mississippi State was running the football.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I was like, all right, guys. All right now.
- 26:06Speaker 5: All right.
- 26:07Speaker 3: And we had already given the stat.
- 26:09Speaker 6: Last time they shut out an SEC team was 2007.
- 26:13Speaker 6: So really wanted the shutout for this LSU team. And
- 26:15Speaker 6: credit to the backups because that hasn't always been the case.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Couple of games.
- 26:20Speaker 6: Think about how many games LSU's first-team defense had a
- 26:23Speaker 6: shutout or gave up three points. They come out, and
- 26:25Speaker 6: all of a sudden, here goes a touchdown the other way.
- 26:28Speaker 6: And speaking of Blake, Blake was not very happy about that.
- 26:31Speaker 5: Yes.
- 26:31Speaker 6: There was a point of emphasis over the last couple
- 26:33Speaker 6: of weeks.
- 26:33Speaker 3: When you get in there, it's the same standard. And
- 26:36Speaker 3: credit to those guys for holding it up.
- 26:39Speaker 5: For sure. Defense played fantastic. Blake Baker's defense is very–
- 26:46Speaker 5: He runs a really good defense. He's very aggressive. It
- 26:48Speaker 5: shows you a lot of different looks. And you have
- 26:51Speaker 5: to be able to go against his defense. Just think
- 26:55Speaker 5: about the injuries that he has on the defense side
- 26:57Speaker 5: of the ball and what they're able to do. You
- 26:59Speaker 5: have to play the quarterback position at a very high
- 27:02Speaker 5: level to be able to have success against Blake Baker's defense.
- 27:07Speaker 5: Just because they present to you so many things pre-snap,
- 27:11Speaker 5: then you have to be able to react to stuff
- 27:13Speaker 5: post-snap that is completely different than what you saw pre-snap.
- 27:17Speaker 3: It just, they fly around.
- 27:19Speaker 5: He does a good job of mixing things up and
- 27:22Speaker 5: giving the quarterback a lot to look at. They, they
- 27:24Speaker 5: have to, they have to sort through a lot of
- 27:26Speaker 5: things mentally to be able to play. So you have
- 27:28Speaker 5: to play the quarterback position at a very high level
- 27:31Speaker 5: to be able to beat that play. And we've seen,
- 27:33Speaker 5: we've seen people do that. Of course, a lot of
- 27:35Speaker 5: that has to do with quarterbacks making plays plus injuries
- 27:39Speaker 5: that you have had. And a lot of those things
- 27:40Speaker 5: add up. Um, But if you're not, if you, if
- 27:44Speaker 5: your team does not have a quarterback that is playing
- 27:47Speaker 5: at a high level and certainly Mississippi state didn't. Yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 5: Then you're not going to have any success against Blake
- 27:53Speaker 5: Baker and that defense. And I don't care how many
- 27:56Speaker 5: injuries they sustain. You're just not going to do it consistently.
- 28:00Speaker 5: You might catch one every now and then you might
- 28:01Speaker 5: catch a, you know, I read it perfectly. I looked
- 28:04Speaker 5: at the right, you know, maybe I looked at the
- 28:06Speaker 5: wrong thing, but it ended up being right type situation. Um,
- 28:10Speaker 5: But if you don't play quarterback at a high level,
- 28:12Speaker 5: you are just not going to have success this year
- 28:14Speaker 5: versus that defense.
- 28:16Speaker 3: All right, we will step away.
- 28:17Speaker 6: Going to continue breaking down the great weekend here in

- 30:46Speaker 3: everything down there in La Paz, Louisiana.
- 30:47Speaker 6: Quick drive down to La Paz here from the capital city,
- 30:50Speaker 6: but if you can't make it down there, that is okay.
- 30:52Speaker 6: Go to BayouAutomotive.com today and purchase your vehicle, and they
- 30:56Speaker 6: will drive it to you at your home, at your business,

- 31:01Speaker 6: you there with your brand new vehicle from Bayou Automotive, BayouAutomotive.com.
- 31:08Speaker 3: All right, let's get to a couple comments here.
- 31:09Speaker 5: Why am I so happy right now, though?
- 31:10Speaker 6: In the chat, because the Saints and LSU won for
- 31:13Speaker 6: the first time in the same weekend, 763 days.
- 31:15Speaker 5: And DJ Alondra bringing you happy music all morning.
- 31:21Speaker 8: We're going to be so positive today.
- 31:22Speaker 5: We're going to be so positive. It's going to be crazy.
- 31:25Speaker 8: I'm going to be like Pollyanna.
- 31:26Speaker 5: I'm not going to say anything negative today. Unless something
- 31:30Speaker 5: negative happens, then I'll.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Talk about it. Yeah, but I say you're a pretty
- 31:34Speaker 3: negative person, so.
- 31:35Speaker 5: What are you talking about? Everybody wants to listen to
- 31:37Speaker 5: a radio show with just both happy-go-lucky dudes. So you're
- 31:42Speaker 5: just playing a role?
- 31:43Speaker 8: Somebody's got to be the villain.
- 31:44Speaker 5: Somebody's got to be the villain. CJ, you're just playing
- 31:46Speaker 5: a part. Huh? You're just playing a part. It's just
- 31:48Speaker 5: a bit. Yeah, I get you.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Dane says, QB1 should go with the team to Auburn.
- 31:53Speaker 3: He is Auburn's nemesis.
- 31:54Speaker 6: I didn't get to go to the 2007 game. I
- 31:58Speaker 6: watched it from Afghanistan.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Shout out to Dane.
- 32:00Speaker 5: Shout out to Dane. Thank you for your service. Thank
- 32:02Speaker 5: you to all of our service.
- 32:03Speaker 3: He's the only good throw through that game.
- 32:05Speaker 5: No, I'm just kidding. They were tree bills.
- 32:10Speaker 3: I had one from you, I think. A little F under.
- 32:13Speaker 5: Okay.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Right?
- 32:15Speaker 3: I think that was that game.
- 32:15Speaker 5: Watch your mouth, bud.
- 32:18Speaker 3: What?
- 32:18Speaker 5: F under?
- 32:19Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 32:19Speaker 5: It's a play. I don't know.
- 32:21Speaker 3: I think I was at F. I might have been
- 32:23Speaker 3: at H. I don't know. I just know I went under.
- 32:25Speaker 3: I didn't caught it and then dove. Probably threw it
- 32:29Speaker 3: behind me. That's why. Numbers.
- 32:33Speaker 5: Fair enough, I think.
- 32:37Speaker 6: Somebody else inside the chat. Auburn is going to counter
- 32:41Speaker 6: LSU to death.
- 32:46Speaker 5: They are.
- 32:46Speaker 6: That's funny you ask. They run counter 19% of the
- 32:50Speaker 6: time on their run plays. Out of 190 runs, they've
- 32:55Speaker 6: run counter 36 times.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Pretty good percentage. Outside zone, 19%. Inside zone, 25%.
- 33:00Speaker 5: Duo, 7%. Power, 9%.
- 33:01Speaker 3: And counter, 19%.
- 33:07Speaker 5: It's a good spread.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Also 13 draws in the year. Pretty big. 14 pull leads.
- 33:13Speaker 3: It's pretty good diversity in the running game there.
- 33:14Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I like that. I like that spread. That's
- 33:16Speaker 5: the way a good quality or at least well-coached offense
- 33:21Speaker 5: should operate with a lot of diversity in the running game.
- 33:26Speaker 5: And I would expect nothing less than a first-year head
- 33:28Speaker 5: coach that feels like runs a pretty good, pretty solid program.
- 33:34Speaker 5: Obviously got a very nice win. this past weekend.
- 33:40Speaker 6: Yeah, when you look, I mean, their losses, they lost
- 33:45Speaker 6: a five-point game against Florida. They went on the road
- 33:48Speaker 6: and lost by 10 to Tennessee, but they just beat
- 33:51Speaker 6: the number one team in the country on the road.
- 33:54Speaker 5: They lost to Florida, but like, Florida, who are you?
- 33:58Speaker 5: Are you real?
- 33:59Speaker 6: I don't know. I don't know if anybody knows that.
- 34:03Speaker 6: And we can say that about a couple teams.
- 34:06Speaker 8: We did the parlay hit?
- 34:08Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 34:09Speaker 5: I guess we didn't. Thanks for bringing that one up, guys.
- 34:11Speaker 5: There's one. I thought we were going to zoom past it.
- 34:15Speaker 8: We didn't let Matt live it down. We're not zooming past.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Yeah, there was five picks in the pontoon parlay. Matt,
- 34:21Speaker 3: did yours hit?
- 34:22Speaker 5: Mine hit.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Yeah, Elijah, did yours hit?
- 34:25Speaker 8: Mine hit.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Yeah, mine did, too. Did Dickson's hit?
- 34:28Speaker 8: His hit, yeah.
- 34:29Speaker 6: The first guest pick that we've had that's hit?
- 34:30Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Yeah, so great weekend. Cash those tickets.
- 34:34Speaker 5: Yeah, has to.
- 34:35Speaker 8: If you left Tay-Tay off for Parley, yeah.
- 34:37Speaker 5: Yeah, you only mentioned four. We forgot that there's somebody
- 34:41Speaker 5: in the Wolfpack who loves to say Roll Tide. See,
- 34:46Speaker 5: that's what it says.
- 34:47Speaker 7: That was what I get for picking Alabama, right? That's
- 34:50Speaker 7: my punishment.
- 34:54Speaker 5: It's a bad look, Tay. It happens. I would never, ever,
- 35:02Speaker 5: like Hunt when he picked Ole Miss. I would never
- 35:05Speaker 5: pick Notre Dame. Would never pick it. Even if I
- 35:09Speaker 5: thought they.
- 35:09Speaker 8: Were going to cover.
- 35:10Speaker 9: That was really, I felt so happy for you.
- 35:14Speaker 5: I know.
- 35:15Speaker 8: Whenever BYU.
- 35:17Speaker 5: I was happy for me too. Yeah. I was just happy.
- 35:20Speaker 5: There was a lot of happiness on Saturday. And I
- 35:24Speaker 5: don't know, like, I was happy that LSU won.
- 35:28Speaker 3: You were thrilled, though, that Notre Dame lost.
- 35:30Speaker 5: That BYU won. Yeah. It was like that book ended
- 35:33Speaker 5: your day, right?
- 35:34Speaker 3: It did.
- 35:34Speaker 5: You started with LSU. You ended with Notre Dame. Again,
- 35:37Speaker 5: it was like anticlimactic for LSU to win. Happy they won.
- 35:40Speaker 5: Great that they looked like.
- 35:41Speaker 8: Yeah, but they were supposed to.
- 35:42Speaker 5: Even happier that Sam Levitt played great.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 35:44Speaker 5: But they were playing a backup quarterback. Yeah, they're supposed
- 35:46Speaker 5: to win.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 35:48Speaker 8: The amount of joy that.
- 35:50Speaker 5: I took away for BYU beating Notre Dame was very high.
- 35:52Speaker 6: Did it make it even better that Notre Dame fans
- 35:55Speaker 6: wanted a pass interference and there was technically one second
- 35:57Speaker 6: left when they called the game?
- 35:59Speaker 3: Does it make it even better?
- 36:00Speaker 5: I don't know. Does it make it even better? No,
- 36:03Speaker 5: they weren't going to score anyway if they got another play.
- 36:05Speaker 3: No, I'm saying, like, I kind of think it's better.
- 36:07Speaker 7: Notre Dame fans can complain about, you know, not getting
- 36:10Speaker 7: the benefit of the doubt. It's a lot like the
- 36:12Speaker 7: Alabama fans who were yelling about the Georgia pass interference,
- 36:15Speaker 7: which was, it's like, come on, man, sit this one out.
- 36:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I sent this one out. You've been on the
- 36:19Speaker 5: right side of that deal for years. And did the
- 36:22Speaker 5: Big 12 come out the next day and say there
- 36:25Speaker 5: should have been one?
- 36:25Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay.
- 36:27Speaker 5: The Big 12 did. What does Notre Dame have on it?
- 36:29Speaker 5: When does anybody admit a mistake?
- 36:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 5: When does anybody do it?
- 36:34Speaker 3: Very rarely in this sport.
- 36:35Speaker 5: Within 12 hours, 15 hours of this happening, they admit
- 36:40Speaker 5: a mistake because it's Notre Dame. What does Notre Dame
- 36:43Speaker 5: have on everybody?
- 36:44Speaker 3: I don't know. The AP, they're.
- 36:46Speaker 5: Number four in the country still.
- 36:49Speaker 8: That's absurd.
- 36:50Speaker 5: That is rage baiting.
- 36:51Speaker 8: Yeah, that's like rage baiting for sure.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Get ready.
- 36:55Speaker 7: You're going to hear the arguments that, wow, the guys
- 36:57Speaker 7: that were on the road, they were number eight.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Did you see the environment? Lost to a top 10 team.
- 37:01Speaker 3: On the road.
- 37:02Speaker 8: So many Mormons there?
- 37:03Speaker 3: So many.
- 37:05Speaker 5: Nobody can play in that.
- 37:05Speaker 8: Guys, good news.
- 37:07Speaker 9: Not only did LSU and the Saints win, we know
- 37:09Speaker 9: Tulane won too.
- 37:11Speaker 8: But also, the Pelicans won their exhibition game.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Flock up.
- 37:15Speaker 8: Flock up.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and I put that out there.
- 37:17Speaker 8: Shout out, Matthew, for texting that.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Shout out.
- 37:21Speaker 6: I put it out there, the stat, and I wasn't
- 37:23Speaker 6: trying to leave Tulane or anybody else, Louisiana Tech or
- 37:27Speaker 6: anybody else in Louisiana out.
- 37:28Speaker 3: It was just using.
- 37:29Speaker 6: Those two teams because it had been so long since
- 37:32Speaker 6: they together had won. So a lot of people did
- 37:36Speaker 6: reply to my tweet saying Tulane also won.
- 37:38Speaker 3: And they did.
- 37:38Speaker 5: They did.
- 37:39Speaker 3: But it wasn't. trying to celebrate just those two teams.
- 37:43Speaker 6: They were saying, hey, these two teams haven't won on
- 37:46Speaker 6: the same weekend. 763 days. So you mentioned the AP
- 37:52Speaker 6: poll there. Let's do this. Let's take a break on
- 37:55Speaker 6: time-ish because I do actually want to yell at that
- 37:58Speaker 6: a little bit.
- 38:01Speaker 5: But there's a hard week to rank for sure.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Very, very hard.
- 38:06Speaker 6: But I understand what you're saying too about– Notre Dame
- 38:10Speaker 6: and like where they didn't fall to, what that kind
- 38:13Speaker 6: of looks like. BYU got a bunch of first place votes.
- 38:16Speaker 6: They've been craving the Buckeyes to maybe, you know, find
- 38:20Speaker 6: a way to put them back in there, which they're climbing.
- 38:22Speaker 6: So we'll talk about all of that when we come
- 38:23Speaker 6: back here on OTV.
- 38:25Speaker 8: Off the bench.
- 38:26Speaker 6: All right, go to Bath Fitter of Baton Rouge. Bathfitter.com
- 38:29Speaker 6: is the website you've been wanting an upgrade, but it's
- 38:33Speaker 6: the fall. There's a lot of things going on during
- 38:35Speaker 6: the fall. We understand that, right? I mean, obviously you're
- 38:38Speaker 6: in the heart of football season. You're in the heart
- 38:40Speaker 6: of dance season. You've got all these different things that
- 38:42Speaker 6: are going on with you. Soccer season's going on with
- 38:44Speaker 6: the kiddos. You've got big major holidays coming up and Thanksgiving.
- 38:49Speaker 6: You've got Christmas down the road. You're like, man, when
- 38:51Speaker 6: can I start this? When can I start this project?
- 38:53Speaker 6: We've got family coming into town. There's no way we
- 38:55Speaker 6: can have a month or six weeks worth of a
- 38:57Speaker 6: bathroom remodel.
- 38:58Speaker 3: Well, guess what?
- 38:59Speaker 6: With Bath Fitter of Baton Rouge, it's one singular day.
- 39:02Speaker 6: They can transform your space. So go find that information.

- 39:26Speaker 5: don't write yourself off yet.
- 39:28Speaker 4: It's only in your head you feel left out.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Don't look down on me.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Off the bench with Hester and Flynn presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 40:15Speaker 8: All right.
- 40:23Speaker 6: Welcome back in OTB here live from the Raising Cane studio.
- 40:28Speaker 6: Let's take a look at the AP Top 25. We'll
- 40:30Speaker 6: go quickly 1 through 10 here. At number 1, Miami
- 40:34Speaker 6: with 40 first-place votes. At number 2, BYU with 20
- 40:37Speaker 6: first-place votes. At number 3, Ohio State with 9 first-place votes.
- 40:42Speaker 6: Followed by number 4, Notre Dame. Number 5, Georgia. Number 6, Indiana.
- 40:46Speaker 6: Number 7, Ole Miss. Number 8, Texas Tech with 1
- 40:49Speaker 6: first-place vote. Number 9, UCLA. And number 10, Utah. That
- 40:54Speaker 6: is what it looks like in the AP poll 1
- 40:56Speaker 6: through 10.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Where do y'all want to point to first to say?
- 41:03Speaker 3: Number one. All right, go ahead.
- 41:06Speaker 8: He's like, me, me, me.
- 41:08Speaker 6: Like, we're playing Family Feud.
- 41:11Speaker 3: I couldn't even get the answer or the question before
- 41:14Speaker 3: I got the answer.
- 41:14Speaker 5: The Miami Hurricanes. Okay, I get it. If you just
- 41:18Speaker 5: look on paper, you take this on paper, they rightful
- 41:22Speaker 5: number one, right? They were, what, number three in the country?
- 41:26Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 41:26Speaker 5: Number one and two, you lost, blah, blah, blah. Like,
- 41:29Speaker 5: that makes sense. That makes a ton of sense. But
- 41:33Speaker 5: if you just look at the games, right, if you
- 41:35Speaker 5: just look at how the game was played, they should have,
- 41:40Speaker 5: could have, they scraped by, they got lucky to beat
- 41:46Speaker 5: Florida State. Florida State, not good, right?
- 41:49Speaker 3: I mean, no.
- 41:50Speaker 5: They've had their moments. They beat Virginia, who we thought
- 41:53Speaker 5: was a pretty good team. They're good against good teams.
- 41:54Speaker 5: It's wild. Yeah, it is weird, but they got crushed
- 41:58Speaker 5: by Louisville. They got crushed by Bama. They got beat
- 42:01Speaker 5: by SMU. They've just consistently, we talk about that coach
- 42:06Speaker 5: getting fired every single week, it feels like. Like, when's
- 42:09Speaker 5: his last week? When's his last week? They can't afford
- 42:11Speaker 5: to fire him, blah, blah, blah. The way that looked,
- 42:14Speaker 5: and to me, it should be BYU.
- 42:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:19Speaker 5: I know everybody wants Ohio State in there, but to
- 42:20Speaker 5: me it should be BYU.
- 42:22Speaker 3: I would have BYU as well.
- 42:23Speaker 5: Because of how highly all these idiots across the country,
- 42:29Speaker 5: how good they think Notre Dame is, they're still number
- 42:33Speaker 5: four after losing. So obviously they think they're the greatest
- 42:36Speaker 5: team ever. They think they could beat the 2000 Patriots
- 42:41Speaker 5: because they're so good, even though they hadn't played a
- 42:43Speaker 5: ranked opponent in 331 days, and then they play a
- 42:46Speaker 5: ranked opponent and they lose. But they think they're good,
- 42:49Speaker 5: and they're still not going to put the team that
- 42:52Speaker 5: beat them number one. Obviously, BYU, undefeated, beats a better
- 42:57Speaker 5: team than Miami did. Now, is Miami deserving because of
- 43:01Speaker 5: where they were? Yes, I get it. But I think
- 43:03Speaker 5: the argument could be made and should be made. And
- 43:05Speaker 5: I think what the coaches pulled there were three, BYU.
- 43:10Speaker 5: They are, yeah, number three with ten first-place votes. It
- 43:13Speaker 5: goes Miami, Ohio State, BYU. I would have BYU number one.
- 43:17Speaker 5: I'm right there with you. I would have Miami down
- 43:19Speaker 5: at four. Their best win is at number 17, Wake Forest.
- 43:23Speaker 5: I would have them at four. You would have Notre
- 43:26Speaker 5: Dame at four?
- 43:27Speaker 3: No, no, no. Miami.
- 43:28Speaker 5: I know.
- 43:29Speaker 6: I would have Notre Dame probably at 10 or 11.
- 43:31Speaker 6: I would actually have Kentucky all the way up to
- 43:33Speaker 6: number six. All the way up to number six. Kentucky
- 43:37Speaker 6: has wins against LSU at home, at Oklahoma, at Texas
- 43:42Speaker 6: A & M, and at South Carolina.
- 43:44Speaker 5: It's better than anything on Notre Dame's schedule.
- 43:46Speaker 3: No doubt about it.
- 43:47Speaker 8: I don't hate that.
- 43:47Speaker 5: It's four things better.
- 43:51Speaker 6: I mean, I would have Ole Miss pretty high up there.
- 43:53Speaker 6: I'd have them probably at four or five.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Kentucky's played more good teams than Notre Dame has in
- 44:01Speaker 5: three seasons, by the way.
- 44:05Speaker 6: So, like, when you look at that, like going on
- 44:07Speaker 6: the road against those teams and beating those teams and
- 44:09Speaker 6: then also having an LSU victory, you can't argue that.
- 44:13Speaker 6: We're going off vibes and what we think with Notre
- 44:15Speaker 6: Dame at number four. Their best win is Wake Forest.
- 44:18Speaker 5: In all fairness.
- 44:19Speaker 3: I think Wake Forest is good.
- 44:20Speaker 5: After the insanity that was this past Saturday, this was
- 44:23Speaker 5: an impossible ranking. You're not going to get anything right.
- 44:27Speaker 5: You're just like, all right, just put these people here.
- 44:29Speaker 5: Let's hear it. This is going to be very argumentative.
- 44:35Speaker 5: Just throw a grenade and launch it into college football
- 44:38Speaker 5: on Saturday. That's what they did.
- 44:40Speaker 3: It's not going to rank Auburn, huh? I was about
- 44:43Speaker 3: to say, there's some questions about that in the chat.
- 44:44Speaker 3: We'll get to that. We'll get to the new one.
- 44:45Speaker 3: Saints at all. Hour number two.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 44:48Speaker 6: Hey, good to go, Tommies.
