- David: What's up and welcome to another edition of Whiskey and Winners before I tell you what, this college football season, my gosh, if you for some reason in your mind said, you know what, I'm gonna take this weekend off. What can happen in one weekend that's gonna be a big deal if I just don't watch college football this weekend? Well, boy boy, let me tell you, things can happen. As I'm sure I know my two hosts have some have seen. First off, let me introduce my host Above me, I don't know where they are on your computer, but with me, I got Greg looking at me, mist the bearded one, Mr. Gregory Miller. And I got him still repping it, still repping it. I the color of that hat, still repping. He's got a little something to be excited about. Mr. Brian Nobles is in the house. What's up, fellas? Greg: What's up, Dave? Brian: Yeah. Greg: I'm glad glad to have you back hosting the recap for us. And and I just want to say that as as painful as this past weekend was, I am old enough and I have done this long enough to appreciate how awesome it was just from a college football standpoint. Because I'm telling you, that re-energized me to the standpoint I've always said it's better than the NFL. You can't tell me. that the fan bases for Auburn and the fan bases for Tennessee and the fan bases for BYU, there is no NFL feeling that can equivalent that in the rev regular season. That is why college football is the greatest sport in the in the world right now. David: Like I said, if you were to happen to just take this weekend off and think not much can change, well, you're in for a quite a bit of excitement because for the first time since 1936 in AP poll history, the first time in history, excuse me, five of the nation's top seven teams lost on the same regular season Saturday. Number one, Georgia took a foul to Auburn at 27 24. Number two, Notre Dame took a foul to BYU 28 24. Number five, Indiana, Ohio State lost to Ohio State 19 to 15. Number six, Alabama lost to number 14, Tennessee. And number seven, Texas lost to Florida. We'll go over those games. We'll maybe quickly, briefly. I the Auburn, Georgia game hurts. Greg and ours, hard to talk about. But we have to, Greg: And and an another one almost went down. One went dangerously close. David: we have to get to the game of the date for me. Although the BYU game and the Hard to pick a game, but because of what was invested with a friend of ours, the Miami Hurricane Florida State game. Sli it looked like a Florida game because it was sloppy from the get-go. But boy, boy, what a game. Somebody caught it. Somebody said that this is gonna be upset city. And I was very close to making that happen. But Brian, you said your boy's gonna be gone after this weekend. Little did you know he was gonna put up a fight. Tell us a little bit about the game, bro. I'm gonna let you break it down a little bit. Brian: Yeah, it I thought we would definitely be on here on this show talking about a firing, but he somehow pulled it out. I mean they played, that's the best they played. I mean, that was they're probably that's probably their A A A game. Greg: Yeah. Brian: I mean, but Miami didn't play all that great, which played the weather, like you said, in the show was gonna play a factor, did play a factor, especially early. I went back and watched that first Third down in overtime, probably a hundred times. I ain't seen a hold yet. So I I David: It's referee and it's supposed to not be seen. You don't even supposed to know they're out there for the most part. But the last few weeks, one in our favor, Greg, I'll take that. But there's been some plays where you're like, what on earth am I watching here? I don't understand it. Greg: David, let me and and I'll get right back to the subject, but it it it kind of goes along and correlates with something you and I talked about on our show today earlier. We just have so much more access to the angles and the slow-mo replay. You just Again, that call would have been made 20 years ago. You might have got one quick replay before the next play. And you go, I don't know, but if the ref caught it, it is what it is. But nowadays you can't s you can't not see that play a hundred times. Then you go on X and see it a hundred like it just gets so beaten in your head that that's all you can focus on. I mean, again, I have still got Alabama fans, which that's old me. I have Alabama fans in my life, but they still swear that we beat them because of one. one call. That was that it was all boiled down to one okay, well Auburn beat us on one stupid play by Gunner. That was it. They weren't better than us all day like I watched. It was just that one fumble that cost us a game. David: Well, that one play you're talking about in FSU turned out to be two plays because to be honest with you, I don't know if he didn't that wasn't a catch on that second, which is the fact that he was even that close in that situation is unbelievable to me. Going into overtime when that happened. But like you talked about that Auburn play, there's that one play is what they're claiming. How many times have you seen it to where You don't go for the field goal, you don't take the points, and you're like, Well, that's gonna come back to haunt us. Boy, did it happen. Not once, but twice for S FSU. And if I'm not mistaken, I feel like Kirby did that last year against Ole Miss. There was a situation where you're like, Let's just take some points, and he tries to go for it. And then once you go for it, don't get it, you're like, Greg: Mm-hmm. David: Well, now I gotta go for it to make up for it. Boy, I appreciate the cojones of Norvell to make that call the first time because I'm like, hey, he's going for it. He may not get back into red zone again. But the second time, I was like, you got to get those points, but that that hurt. Brian: I mean it it did end up making a difference. I wasn't mad about it. I mean you were playing the number one countr I mean the number one offense in the country. field David: Nothing to lose, really. Brian: goals usually aren't gonna win those type of games. So I mean I give them that. Then what really aggravated me was the last play of the game, you know, simultaneous possession, whether he had it or not. We don't know. You didn't get a good angle. But I think that's kind of where the ACC you know, letting you go into the replay booth kind of backfired on them because that was never even mentioned. So to me, David: Yeah. Brian: I mean it should have at least been a topic was their simultaneous possession, but they never even brought it up. David: How do you feel about that? Because that was a multi a couple games that I noticed like that where you can kind of hear them going over the replays. I kind of want to know it kind of takes the like I want to see when everybody else finds out what the play was. Like I knew beforehand what there was going to be called. I like knowing when everybody else in the stands finds out and the announcers find out. So I'm not a big fan of having them talk when you as they're doing the replay. How do you feel, Greg? Greg: I'm with you. I it it gives you too much of it kind of takes away from the storyline because you kind of can feel David: Yes. Greg: where the plot is going. You can hear the tone of the conversation. And and David: Mm. Greg: I'm with you. I I I think it's better for the sport for all of us to be able to just watch the replay over and over again and form our own opinions and then have it all announced at one time, instead of hearing the conversations back and forth. Well I mean it I get you. I But it's it's not going back. We are we are never going backwards in society as far as access and information. It is always just gonna be more, more, and more. David: I wanna hear it after the fact, but I like I like to be to find out at the same time the whole crowd does. It's kind of an the anticipation is what's good. And then I was like, Well, well I know what it is, game over. So that's stuck, but Brian: Yeah. Well I felt I felt terrible for Usmane Cromaw 'cause I mean he ran over that Miami defender and then broke his ankle. He's out for the season. I mean that that was a heck of a run. David: Man, that hurts. Brian: That's that's a Florida State Miami type of run. Ran the guy over, reminded David: Mm-hmm. Brian: me of Greg Jones a little bit against North Carolina and then I mean, how tough is that kid to try to hop off the field. So David: That's what I was I think I texted that. I was like, dude, I thought, man, maybe it's a bad sprain or something. But then when they started bringing out the aircast and the cart, you're like, crap, that's more severe. And the fact that he was just hobbling along, you're like, okay, that's a tough I think he's from Lee County. That's a that's a tough South Georgia boy. Brian: Yeah, I I think there's a chance, depending on who they hire or who the coach is at the end of the year, you might see him in Athens next year. It's a little bit of the rumbling. David: I'll take that. With the way he played, Greg: Okay. David: boy, line running back you up. The Phillips looked good again for the Georgia game. But but Florida State showed out. You got that was vintage rivalry games. That's kind of how I felt. I was like, man, if you can't get hyped up for this game, I don't know what it is. This gotta be something where you grab your your sack and be like, I'm about to sack up on this one. And I had a feeling. I just knew it. I thought it would come down to a miss field goal. Little did I know it come down to two non field goals that they didn't take. So I was Kind of right. But a wild weekend. Brian: And Malachi Tony, he's pretty good. David: You've said, hey, just make Malachi Tony beat you. Well, he can. Even if you try to not make him, he can. He is a different level. Everybody in their grandma knows it's going to Malachi Tony, and there's really nothing you can do about it. He's just that good. Whole slate of good games. That game was a barn burner. That Indiana Ohio State game came down to just inches of getting his foot in. I've been talking about how they even made that because I thought Ohio State was going to run away with it. I just had a feeling. But boy, Indiana just battled back. Signetti, he must know how to coach. Because he has not once did they look like they were out of it or feel like they were out of it. And that play was the perfect call, a big cojone play again to make that call. And boy, it was so close to being a win. Brian: But yeah, that's Greg: I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna say this, and David, you know me, I I am constantly saying I hate when people are a prisoner of the moment and the last thing is always the best thing we've ever seen. But I'm I'm gonna put it out there, like from a college football objectivity standpoint, watching that week. Like if I had just been a college football fan and been out in Vegas for this past weekend, that would have been about as good a college football weekend as far as all the upsets, some of the rivalries. It was, and again, I I hate to be a prisoner of the moment, but that was. That was a really good weekend of college football, as as disappointing as it was for me. Brian: Yeah. One thing to keep in mind for our listeners out there, you know, on going back to a betting standpoint is Indiana, they're probably one of the best fourth quarter, if not the best fourth quarter team in the country. I mean they they win the fourth quarter, so Greg: Well y'all know I don't do a whole lot of homework David: Yeah. Greg: and I usually don't look at lines early, but I think I caught a glimpse of South Carolina being favored over Tennessee. And if that don't tell you that the books are onto something, then I don't know what to look at. Brian: Yeah, it it opened Tennessee favor by David: Hey. Brian: one and a half. It's jumping back and forth. David: Need I remind you, and it's been so right, the blow your wide scenario and Tennessee blew their wide on Alabama who blew their wide. And I'm just saying, think about it for but Brian: You and you hitting seventy two you hitting that seventy-two percent, so keep doing what you doing, baby. David: We'll get to the numbers. Let's let's Greg: Hang on, he he brought it up. David: let's go over to let's let's go to the Notre Dame BYU before we move on. And I don't we won't gotta go down, break down every big upset or whatever, but that Notre Dame BYU game, I could not turn away. I could I I'm hooked on that coach for BYU. His passion, his ridiculousness. He looking like, I don't know, Junior Seao over there. I was like, here we go, baby. Greg: I know I didn't say BYU was gonna win, but I do recall saying that they would be sauced up in up in Provo and that place was getting it done. David: I believe I did call BYU winning. I had that. I saw them play earlier in the year. There's just something about it. And in Provo, Utah, the hyped as they was, that place was going nuts. Unlike the Falcons games, there was not one Notre Dame fan, it seemed like. It looked like it was all blue. They were all hyped and they sold that place out. A lot of soaking going on that night in old Provo, baby. They were some bed jumping going on. They were wilding out. What a game. That quarterback for BYU Brian: Yeah, bear. David: is a gritty, gritty player. Won't sniff the NFL, but a gritty college player. I like it. Brian: Yeah, he had Greg: I think the NFL has rules there there's rules against drafting a quarterback that wears the number forty seven. David: Exactly. Brian: Hay he had what two rushing touchdowns, a passing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. I mean, what do you do? David: Yeah. Listen, Notre Dame's good. Notre Dame has a squad now. As much as I don't want to believe it, they actually have a good team. So so I think BYU might be legit to the point where I believe they jumped up to two or something like that. I would I understand you giving it to Miami, but I I think I would have given you the nod. All right, Brian, I know you about to get into it all business here. We got a late A quick night because you got a lot of you had to work a little late, but before we get into the numbers, what are you are you are you even made you a drink yet or no? Brian: No, I got just some water right now. David: well I got a garage beer lime. Well wasn't able to get that, but that's we just gonna go with the winners. Go ahead and give the breakdown. I know you told us earlier and I know it's making Greg just so upset, so just flabbergasted is a better word. But go ahead and break down the numbers for the the week and for the year. Brian: yeah, Greg went seven, three, and one. We all pushed on to Indiana. We was able to shop the line around, get it at four. the one that surprised me on Greg's is that northern Illinois under seventeen and a half. I thought I'd already pencil that in as a win because I don't even think they had but like six points with I don't even know how much time, maybe eight minutes in the game. And then I look at my app and they got twenty four. I said, What the hell happened? But anyhow, I went six five and one, so kind of lower, but it's it's still You know, I guess paid the juice pretty much. So David: Yeah. Brian: and and then David won the week again. He's seven and two, hitting that seventy eight percent David: Boom. I'm kicking myself. Brian: for the week. David: I'm kicking myself for not taking Tennessee because I in my it was my scenario. It's my blow-your-wide scenario. I should have had the Tennessee game. I had a feeling of it. I got I overthunk it. And I think Greg's going to tell you about why he thinks I'm doing so well is the fact that I don't have that problem, but I did with that one. Greg: I do. I I have a theory David: Mm. Greg: and and part of this theory is definitely correlated to me being able to take some sort of credit for your success, obviously, because that's that's what I'm good at. So my thinking is that you you toss these games to me and Brian, you listen to both of our analysis, and then you've done absolutely nothing on your own, but you kind of decide based on what we said which way you're gonna go with, and that gut instinct without overthinking it has got you at seventy-two percent. David: Well, there's not you're not completely wrong in that theory, but a lot of times I will go ahead and have my teams marked the who I I can be talked out of it, but I usually have my teams marked of who I'm gonna choose. But for the yearly breakdown, did you do the year? I think you just did the Brian: Yeah. Yeah, for the year, Greg's sitting at fifty four percent, so he's profitable. I'm sitting at fifty eight percent, so I'm profitable, and David's sitting at seventy two percent, like we just said, so he's very profitable. And then as a as a group, we're sitting at fifty nine percent, so we're right at that sixty percent mark here. David: So the name of the game is Profit. And like you pointed out, I'm not very good at math, but I know that 59% is more than 50%. And that's winning. So that's the first part of this show is winners and whiskey, baby. And that's what we're doing. Whiskey and winners, excuse me. Greg: And I would be I would be willing to bet that if if anybody out there had the wherewithal to do the research, if you ever found a play that at least two of us were on together, I bet we are over sixty percent on those. David: So you might want to take a take a take a toll of what's we do we're doing over here at the old whiskey and winters. Quite impressive work, fellas. Very proud of you. Brian, as always, thank you for the number crunching. Cause he, like I said, he I may be doing a lot of talking and Greg may be doing a lot of talking, but make no mistake, he's doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work and getting the numbers for us and getting the books for us. Shopping the books. Tell the importance of shopping the books, Brian. Let them know what's up. Brian: Very important to shop the books. I mean, they had that Indiana plus four is is perfect sense. There was only about two or three books when we took it that had it at that. We locked it in at that, and it ended up being a push. So that was a difference in having a losing week or a winning week for me. I mean, so it's it's very important. There's a couple other ones out there that, you know, hings right on the line, but that that was the main one for this week to look at. Another thing like we've talked about, pay attention to what Vegas is trying to tell you on these lines. We he brought up Tennessee, South Carolina. So we'll dig more into that. We'll give you a good rundown on it. But something isn't right about that line just off the top of of my head. And I know we did put out there, you know, the Mississippi State game, which all took Mississippi State, but Camario not playing is a big deal. So that's something to watch every time they're playing. David: Ugh. That hurt. It turns out he's he's very important to that team. Jeez. Brian: Yeah. And and what about Texas? My gosh. David: I've been saying it all year. I am not an arch man and fan. There's something about him. He's not worth the hype. I'm telling you, his mechanics are wrong. Greg: Excuse me. David: He looks terrified as soon as you rush him. He looks like Michael Penix with a one-man rush coming at Michael Penix. Michael Penix freaks out, don't know what to do. Arts looks the same way. Greg: Mm-hmm. David: I'm not sold on Texas. They'll probably win out, but I'm still not Brian: Yep. Greg: No I I David: sold on him. Why'd you go silent? Brian: Muted. David: You're muted. All right. I said I'm not sold on Texas. I'm not that Greg: And I was just saying, I think we all pointed out at the beginning of the year when they were perched up atop of everybody sitting at number one and all three of us were going, I do not think that is the best team in the country by far. David: No, no, I don't think so either. Brian: No I d I do remember Greg last week saying I think he's right is Kentucky's got a pretty good football team. David: Yes they do, my friend. Yes they do. I I think that's one of the ones I I don't know if I bet that on with y'all or if I bet it on my side by myself, but I Kentucky, I'm impressed. The thousand pound sisters connection is working, baby. There's no there's Brian: I look yeah. David: a mat there's a method to this madness, Greg. Okay. Greg: Sorry, you'll have to forgive me. I'm going back to check our our underdog and our moneyline plays, the parlay. David: Yeah. Greg: See I don't even I didn't Brian: Yeah, I g Greg: even look at those. Brian: I got those. It you had Maryland that didn't win. I had Houston they did win. And then we did miss both of our underdogs. You had U Mass and I had Missouri. Missouri got beat pretty bad. Greg: Hey, both both of mine were looking good for a while. Brian: Yeah. David: Make no mistake, Ole Miss is legit and I thought Missouri was better than they were. Apparently they're not, 'cause I thought for sure Ole Miss was gonna have a s not a struggle necessarily, but I thought Missouri would put up a fight. They did not. Thirty one to three. Greg: I think to some degree, all of us and and and probably a lot of casual fans and casual betters out there too. I think sometimes we grossly underestimate the home field value, especially if you get a little momentum David: Mm-hmm. Greg: going towards a home team. It gets real hard to stop the bleeding. And again, I I I don't think if Missouri and Ole Miss played 10 times, I don't think the outcome we saw Saturday is likely. Just like I don't think if George and Auburn played 10 times, the outcome is likely. But It's only one outcome that matters. That's the one that goes on the record books and the one that lets you either cash a ticket or not. And yeah, we were on the wrong side with Missouri for sure. David: Well, like you've said all year, Greg, you've said it from the get go, Trinidad Chamberless is almost not fair. The kid is a stud. And at this point I'm like, let's let's suck it up for Trinidad, baby, for the Falcons. Let's let's tank for Trinidad. That's what I'm here for. Make it happen. Greg: Well if you'll if you'll figure out how to make this whole live shit work on this apparatus, I'm I'm pretty sure now I'm locked into taking the oldest Georgia at Oxford. So we we might be able to do a live one remote from the road there. David: That'd be a good one. That'd be a nice one. Well, fellas, I'm looking forward to getting another weekend. We got another big slate of high school high school football games. What am I talking about? College games. What's the big matchup? You ain't got to go full breakdown, Brian. Do you have a big matchup this weekend that we need to be looking out for? Brian: Biggest matchup that I could find, you know, with two ranked on ranked teams was Houston at Utah. That's be a pretty good ball game. No miss at Texas. I mean they're both ranked, but I ain't sure Texas is might not get pretty beat pretty bad. David: This would be the tank. This would be the game that Texas wins. They're like, there's no chance. They'll win this one. You watch. They'll walk the dog Greg: You may not be wrong. David: against Ole Miss. That's how they're gonna just it's you can't make sense of it, but it has been a fun, fun season. This is one of the funnest seasons. Take into account the fact that that Auburn, Georgia game makes no sense. But it was like me fighting Muhammad Ali right after he took a beating from George Foreman. I'm probably gonna have a good chance. And that's the case with Auburn taking on Georgia after they get in a slug fest with Alabama. Really Alabama and Georgia had no chance of winning because they took it all out the week before. That was just a beating. Both sides. Brian: Yeah. We'll see if your we'll s Greg: Yeah. Brian: we'll see if your theory comes true 'cause they got LSU com David: Blow your wide scenario. Brian: they got L S U coming to play at Jordan Hare this weekend. David: Oof, this zero chance. I'm taking LSU no matter the number. Although Greg: Well I'm David: the coach I've told I've told all said all along, that coach for Auburn, I really like. I really like that guy. He is gonna turn that program around. Not to be like a top one or two, but they'll be top ten, I think, for the years to come. I like that guy a lot. Greg: Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna make a request of our of our followers here. And if if any of you guys are following and actually putting down some action based on this, for this next weekend only, pay absolutely no effing attention to anything me or Brian say. Y'all just follow David's play. Cause I need to either throw the kiss of death on this to figure out if it's real David: It's what it is. Greg: or not. Because if if you can survive the KOD of everybody tailing your plays, then I'm gonna start tailing them too. David: That's what he did. He just put the curse on me. He put the curse. I have a fantasy football curse, by the way. No matter who I take, something miraculous happens. I took Jalen Hurts, for instance, and you see what happened. Greg: Brian, Brian might be able Brian might be able to relate to this. I can't tell you how many other cappers I've followed over the years that I will sit there and watch them win seven, eight in a row and go, no, I like it. And the moment I jump on a pick that they pick is the wind they fucking lose. So I'm asking all Brian: Mm-hmm. Greg: of our followers, I want to figure out if David's magic is real or not. Y'all jump David: Yeah. Greg: on tail David's picks. And if he goes seven to two again to some bitch, he's just a real dealer. We all should follow him. David: I'm gonna start actually betting real money. Like I'll I'll keep throwing dollar here, dollar there, and I'm gonna start putting some money and that's when it's gonna go to shambles. That's how it works. Been good Brian: Yeah, that David: so far holding off as best I could, not putting some real money, but I may start. So Brian: Mm. Georgia and Alabama game got me pretty pretty good this weekend. Both of them did. David: Man, that was Tennessee boy. They were I'm talking about the cigars. Did everybody have a cigar? They'd pass out at the gate. Every time I looked, turned around, three more people had cigars lit up. It was smoky in Knoxville that night. They were hype, baby. Morgan Waddins going Brian: Yeah, David: crazy somewhere. Brian: my uncle sent me a picture of his. He said, Well, at least it was a cheap one. David: It was we've been blessed, fellas, with not only some wins, but a heck of a college football season. That's another recap show. Be sure to check in later this week when we go over the official plays that we have coming up. Brian's going to crunch the numbers, get everything set up for us. And as always, if you have a play, you want to hear an in-depth, detailed analysis of a game, Greg: Some good. David: and by that I mean what reality show I like that's co correlated with it. Be sure to reach out to us, check out YouTube channel, comment on social media, anything like that. Put it out there and hey, we'll we'll go over it. We'll dissect it in even more depth than we normally do. Brian: For sure. Greg: And gamble David: No. Greg: responsibly. David: Campbell responsibly. Keep it low unless you're betting with me, baby. Then you could throw a little change on it. Just saying Brian: Yeah. David: 72%. Greg: We we are we are legally and contractually obligated to say that this show is for entertainment purposes only. It is not solicited or unwarranted gambling or investment advice. David: You're supposed to do it in a small voice and then like real quick, like Greg: I don't have a small voice. Brian: Ha ha David: fellas, looking forward to the next one. I appreciate y'all checking in. Anything else before we go? Greg: Let's just keep the winning train rolling, man. It's been fun. David: Keep it going. Prophets, baby. All prophets. Till next time, guys. Greg: The y'all Wednesday. David: Till next time. Peace. Brian: yeah. Greg: All right, fellas, I'll get it chopped up and sent out. Brian: All right, I got a
