- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's fuck ya Friday!
- 0:01[SPEAKER_02]: Fuck you!
- 0:02[SPEAKER_02]: Get ready for some wins!
- 0:05[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Beat till you see it podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also Logan, prize instructor, and fit this business coach.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_02]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: My friends, action brings clarity.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: And it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: Each week, my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it until you see it.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, be a babe, how are you?
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: We are here.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: September is one of those months I feel like flies by.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's not as short as February, but like, you know, it just kind of feels short.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, it's already September, twelfth.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: And this is your fucking Friday episode, this episode where we get to like have a little bit more of a poporey episode.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Poporey is a category in jeopardy that I never understood what was called poporey because my mother loved poporey.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: She'd make fate like her own poporey.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like none of these questions or answers are about the roses, like rose petals.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then I realized like it's just like, you just put a bunch of stuff together and like it could be anything.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: And then it's poporey.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: So anyways, first we start off with something that was inspiring.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: We should talk about, I would love for us to talk about.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: You can hit me up on the pod, Instagram talk about it, share your DMS.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: You can set it to be at pod.com with us last questions.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: Ask questions about it.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: You can share your wins at bapod.com slash questions.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's weird.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: We're thinking quest wins, but like who can spell that.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: So it's questions, but you can put a win or a question there.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: We answer your questions on Thursday during the recap, and are you sure you're Wednesday?
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because sometimes you need to hear your own when later on.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, I did that, right?
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like, have you ever had to listen to your own bio read?
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: So one of those things when I do a podcast, and after I've never coined this, I'm on some podcasts.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes they record that part without me there, and sometimes they record that part with me there.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: When they record that part with me there, I'm like, oh my god, I did that.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I did do that.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I did that.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: And that amount of time, holy freaking moly.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's so easy for us to forget the things that we did.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we have to celebrate them.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I also realized I talk really fast.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: I do realize this and I have people who tell me they do not speed up my podcast and that's fine.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: You can also slow down to know that.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so this inspired me.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: Scholars believe that Albert Einstein was on the autism spectrum, but no one talks about his wife and I hope I said this right.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maleva, Marick, Marie.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, historians speculate that she may have contributed to his theories, but she received no credit for her work.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think we don't speculate, I'm pretty sure that's probably true.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: Einstein was called a genius.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: He went on to win the nineteen twenty-one Nobel Prize in physics and became a global icon of science.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maleva excelled in theoretical physics in some classes she was reportedly scored even higher than Einstein, despite strong academic performance she was the only women in her class and face intense gender bias from her male professors.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: But in the early nineteen hundreds women had limited rights.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: Women couldn't vote in most countries, couldn't publish under their own names, and were not taking seriously in academics.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: Einstein and Maleva
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: I hope I see your name right because that would be it such a shame.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: Exchange letters, discussing physics, mathematics, and joint ideas in the letters.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: Einstein even referred to our work on relative motion and our papers.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: So why was only his name on the papers?
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: Einstein's most groundbreaking work was published only while he was still with Malabba before their separation.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: This included special relativity, so E equals MC squared, and the photoelectric effect all published during their time and together in the nineteen-of-five his miracle year.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: After their divorce, Einstein offered Malabba his future Nobel Prize money, some believe it was compensation for uncredited contributions to his work.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: probably was.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: After their separation, nineteen, fourteen Einstein never produced theories of the same revolutionary impact.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Evidence, I think so.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: So how much of his genius was actually in Aleppo's uncredited contributions?
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: A comprehensive review of three hundred eight studies from nineteen, fourteen to two, one, eleven, involved it over one point one million students from thirty countries found that girls consistently outperform boys in all subject including math and science.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: That is from time magazine.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Malava and Einstein's sort of leave us with a question, how many brilliant women throughout history were recently because they had fewer rights in no voice?
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: So there's a great book called She Cost Arri at which I really love and I would love to get that author on the show.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a couple other scientists who like in Europe who got a bit more credit, but didn't get paid.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like literally could teach the stuff, but they couldn't get paid.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, there's also, I think we talked about this on the on the pot before, but like,
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: How Socrates is, teacher was a woman.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: And the truth is, is that people have wanted to erase what women were doing so that women could be held back.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not, I don't think we have to go women are better than men.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the argument I'm trying to have here.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's that women deserve the same credit that a man would get for the work that they're doing, period and the story.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's not about taking.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's about like, just having the opportunity to have the equal
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: credit and reward and achievements that other people would get.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm glad we have all these theories.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: And if they were together, that is really cool.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not saying he is the reason why, you know, like she didn't get the credit.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: It was society.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: But I just think that like there's some research we can do.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's more.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's more to the story.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: There's more to a lot of stories.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think hopefully, as we all get older, we will hear more about these amazing women and what they did.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope that we can celebrate them.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe the kids from today can hear about her and other things out there.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: So anyways, that's just me.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's just me.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: This is my hope.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: So let's share a win of yours.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: So you can send your wins in like I said to be a pod.com slash questions.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: And the win we're going to share today is from Jeannie Cho.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: Did all the things to make a website, and it will be done by this weekend.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: Finally, thanks Brad for the web course, received a request for a local paid event.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: The second contract this month.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: So excited to see what will come once I'm actually online.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: Found out.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: Craftwork is in town this weekend.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: So looking forward to experience an legendary performance.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: Often hesitate in taking personal time away from my daughter and being selfish.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: So proud to be selfish and digging up old Pilates footage for the website found on an Equinox price price price brochure from twenty sixteen.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: Noticing my current session rate is what they were charging a decade ago, but relieved that at least I'm earning their old drop in rate.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: So this is beautiful.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: Jeannie, so many wins in here first of all, and this is for everyone.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: doing things that feel your cup is never selfish.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: I know that like when you're a mom, your time, it might be limited with your children and they grow up so fast, but also like it's so important that they see that you go out and do things that are fun, that you have hobbies, that you have things that bring you joy, and they will recognize when they're older, like, oh wow, she did that and she was like a happier person because of it.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: So love that, love that for you.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: Also, you know, I love that old Equinox Pilates request card because like I remember when I worked at Equinox,
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I charged exactly what they charged.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, well, if over here, that someone a company is taking that rate for my teaching, why I certainly can charge the same amount where I'm teaching for myself.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: And that also just kind of meant like, I didn't have to have those conversations with people like I'm cheaper over here, but more expensive here, like, no, it's the same rate.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: But like it does take sometimes a pep talk, right, to remind yourself, like, oh, people are charging this.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: Now, obviously different places are different, but like, way to go, you made it.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: You've got yourself there and you're earning the rate that you want to earn.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: and you got yourself your website and you use your support systems like that's another thing on a highlight like everyone it is a win that was worth celebrating when you use your support systems a lot of times we pie these things we pay for things and then we don't use them and because we're like I don't know we're scared we're worried we're afraid and the truth is or like
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: who knows, actually maybe good things will happen, right?
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: Is that what you're right up?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: So when you have resources, it is a win when you're like, you recognize you have them and you use them and you take the action.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: So wait to go.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: Jeannie, thank you for sharing with us because that way it helps us figure out how my God, we have so many more wins we could celebrate, right?
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, I am going to share this with you guys right now because it's going to be soon.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: But I am really excited.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: We've had so with hundreds of episodes, like so many episodes.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know where at this point because I'm recording this little early.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: I was a little afraid to like years ago to like rock the boat of like how the system of the pod goes because like what's if it's not broken like why fix it.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: But I've decided I want to do a few different series on this pod for you guys.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: So like a habit series and a preventive burnout series and big a self love or boundary series.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: And so anyways, I'm letting you know now that like I'm calling it a win.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: that I am recording these series for you because like I'm really fucking confident in like what we've done here for you guys we get really great interviews we have really great guests with a lot of fun doing this our producers are amazing and I know that the a different type of series will be beneficial for you guys
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope that it is.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: And if you do like them, I do want you to tell me what other series we should do on the show because it will help us direct, like which gas we bring on and like what topics we bring up.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, being at tell you see it requires us to also like take a different chance, try something different, like try something different that we've done before.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: So anyways, I'm really, really excited about that.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also excited that here we are in our fourth year, I celebrated four years this past summer.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, we were Brad and I are like, we want to change the music.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: We want to update the, like, all the different things.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: So you're going to see a little bit of a refresh in a rebrand around here.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not because the pot is changing in a way that you won't recognize it.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's just becoming more of what it was supposed to be.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: The pot itself has been being it tells you that.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just like, I'm calm that it went.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: And so thank you for being on this journey.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for supporting us.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for sharing episodes.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for sending your wins in and your questions in.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: And now for your affirmation to take with you into your fabulous weekend.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: Are you ready?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: I tell the truth about who I am and what I need from others.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: I tell the truth about who I am and what I need from others.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: I tell the truth about who I am and what I need from others.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you do.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're amazing.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now go and tell you see it.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's all I got for this episode of The Beat Tell You See A Podcast.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: One thing that would help both myself and future listeners is for you to rate the show and leave a review.
