Jerry Ross Williams, 42, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to murder, attempted murder, and firearm possession in the fatal shooting of Princess Russell, 41, at their Clayton home. The attack, which occurred just before 3 a.m., left Russell dead and her 18-year-old son critically injured after he jumped from a second-story window to escape. Williams called 911 to confess and surrendered, begging not to be shot.
