- 2:38SPEAKER_00: It's getting to know each other, but it's also getting to know you.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Get a piece of paper, each of you, a pen, a pencil to write with.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: What is my favorite colour?
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Very simple, no catch.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Just write down your favorite colour.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: The next one.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Any type of animal.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Write down your favorite animal.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Number three.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: What is your favorite way of seeing water contained?
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: What I mean by that is what's your favorite form of container of water?
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: And examples include a lake, a puddle, ocean, bridbath, waterfall, dracuzzi.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Think outside of the box.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: A way in which you see water held, contained.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: What's your favorite form?
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Once you've identified each of these, and you can do it at the same time as you choose number one, for each of them you need to give a reason, some reasons, why you chose that particular colour, that particular animal, that particular form of water container.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Give one or a few reasons.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Because you're going to explain this to your partner.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: I'm going to leave the rest of the instructions for you to look at in the workbook.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: There is a significant outcome to this exercise when you read the rest of the instructions.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: It's going to reveal potentially, not everyone will believe it, but potentially it might well reveal a whole lot of information at a profound level about you.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Simple exercise like this.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: In an earlier session, I talked about this Jahari's window, J O H A R I.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: Jahari's window is a useful exercise for you to look at.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: I think what I may have to do is leave you to look at the Jahari's window in more detail by following a YouTube link.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: There's lots of discussions on YouTube about Jahari's window.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: I won't take up too much of the session by talking too much about it.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Some of you may be interested, others less so.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Along the top will say Areas of my life known by me, by self.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Down the left hand side of that top box, areas of my life known by others.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: The second box is the one to the right at the top, and along the top of that second box, areas of my life unknown by me.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: To the right hand side of that box, areas of my life known by others.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Go down to the third box, which is the bottom left.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: And along the left hand side of that box, areas of my life unknown by others.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: And at the bottom, areas of my life known by myself.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Let's move then to the last of those boxes, the bottom right hand corner.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: And what you've got is an area in the middle of that box, just called unknown area.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: But along the top would be the words unknown by self and along the right hand side unknown by others.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: So areas of your life which others don't know about, which you don't know about, which absolutely lives in the unconscious.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Take a look at that Jahari window.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: And take some time to listen to the YouTube explanation about it.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: There are areas in our life that we don't know about, others don't know about.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Blind spots.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: Spend some time with the Jihari's window YouTube clip that I'm going to include.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: And really, if you do no significant work with this, just be aware.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: We all of us have blind spots.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: That thing which I've been talking about repeatedly and repeatedly and repeatedly, the unconscious.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: Areas in our life that we need to move from the unconscious to the conscious, from the invisible to the visible, from the unseen to the seen, so we get a chance to change them.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Send me a message.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Let's do some work without shame and bring colour back to life.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: Send the email, send the message to me, Gary McFarlane at the Kairos Center.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: And let's begin to reclaim your quality of life.
