  there was no drama in the NASCAR Cup race.

  I said, well, not really much to talk about if there's no drama.

  And then I thought to myself, how dumb is that?

  It was a great race. I told my wife as they had an in

  car camera of Bubba Wallace going around the racetrack and

  I've always liked Martinsville and I started reminiscing a

  little bit. I told my wife, I said I can.

  I can feel myself inside Bubba's car.

  I've run so many laps here and been fortunate to have a couple
• 0:52
  wins in the Xfinity Series. But I sure do love Martinsville.

  Did you know Martinsville was my very first NASCAR Cup race of my

  life in the number 8 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet?

  Did you know Dale Earnhardt senior let me drive his number 8
• 1:14
  GM Goodwrench car? And I, I ran that race.

  I think I finished 12th and NASCAR proved me.

  They said OK, then you you go on to Daytona, we'll watch your

  practice. So, you know, in the spotlight

  lately has has been that deal about my brother and Mike and

  Casey Mears was in the race today.

  I think Casey finished 37th. But Casey Mears did hold a
• 1:37
  pretty wheel today finished 37th of of 38 cars.

  But my point is this, when I started racing in the NASCAR,

  you know, Bush Train National Series, they said we got to see

  you race Kenny Wallace. I said, OK, so brother Rusty and

  Dale Earnhardt Senior both got together and Dale Senior let me
• 1:58
  drive his number 8 GM Goodwin Chevrolet.

  And I went to Martinsville and they said, OK, you did a good
• 2:04
  job here, go to Daytona and we're going to watch you test

  back. Back in those days, we did a lot
• 2:11
  of testing in January. I made a lot of laps and then
• 2:15
  they approved me, but they made it rough on me.

  I'll tell you that NASCAR definitely made it rough on me.

  But anyway, enough of that. I just, I just want to let you

  know that I I was I felt myself in that in that car where the

  bubble. Wallace said that I was coming

  off that corner and, you know, from the concrete to the asphalt

  and yeah, but listen, all right, let's talk about the race for a

  minute. To me as a race car driver, it

  was a good race because I don't know about you all.

  My God, I was really happy to see today's clean, you know, cup

  race at Martinsville. Listen, there was, you know, at

  the end there. Can you believe that Joey Logano

  has not had a top ten? Did he finish in the top ten?

  Joey Logano was last year's champion and is does not have a

  top 10 yet. That's nuts.

  They showed the stat of drivers that had had a tough start after

  winning the championship. Jimmy Johnson's right there.

  But the point is, is that Joey Logano is running really good.

  But Chase Briscoe gets into Turn 3, gets loose and doesn't even

  mean to get into Joey Logano. He gets loose, he goes to Chase,

  it, hits Joey Logano and spins Joey out.

  So that's pretty wild. All right, let me run down some

  things that I thought were good takeaways from today's race.

  I got my notes today. All my notes are for Herman

  Schrader tomorrow. Oh, yeah, I work hard.

  This ain't easy, everybody. I work hard at it.

  But what what I said a little bit ago, I was really impressed.

  37 of the 38 cars. Now it is.

  It is. I will say this, it is a 400 lap

  race now. My ass would be so sore after

  those 500 lappers there. Think about it.

  If you run 500 laps like like we used to at Martinsville and you

  push the brake going into turn 1, push the brake hard going
• 4:50
  into turn 1, then push the brake hard going into turn three, that
• 4:55
  it's 2 * 500 laps. That means you push with, with
• 5:00
  your left foot, you push 1000 times.

  And buddy, at the end of those 500 lappers at Martinsville, my,
• 5:07
  my ass, my, my muscle, my ass. I, I'd be, I would, there was
• 5:12
  nothing wrong with me except my, my muscles were cramped up.

  I'd be limping after the race, even after a good run.

  So anyway, I was very impressed. 37 of the 38 cars and Casey

  Mears. I think Casey, matter of fact, I

  know Casey is getting ready. I think Casey Mears wants to

  make a run at Daytona next year. And that's one reason he ran.

  This was Carl Long's car. Let's talk about Denny Hamlin

  for a minute there. Denny made broke all types of
• 5:43
  records. First of all, I want to comment

  on Denny Hamlin and, and I say this fun loving.

  So Denny, if you hear about it, just have fun with me.

  Denny's the old man on the block now over there, Joe Gibbs.

  But he he's like fine wine. He just keeps producing.

  Danny has ran really good all year long and finally got that

  win at his best track. Danny Hamlin has been extremely

  competitive. If you remember the Daytona 500,

  Danny was trying to go for another win at the Daytona 500
• 6:17
  and they're entering turn 3 and all hell breaks loose.

  But Danny's been in the top three just about every race.

  Hell, he ran real good at Miami Homestead, but he's been up
• 6:28
  there, I mean, battle in the top three.

  So they're making a big deal at Danny.

  Hamlin's got a new crew chief and he's leading that crew chief
• 6:36
  and he's doing better. But Denny Hamlin's sixth win at
• 6:41
  Martinsville, 6th win, man, that's a lot of wins at

  Martinsville. Fair to say he's one of the best
• 6:46
  that's ever ran Martinsville, no doubt about it.

  One of the best. He ties my Big Brother Rusty at

  So it's fair to say I know you might not want to hear it.
