- 0:00Well, it's heating up out there, meaning that your air conditioning unit is
- 0:03putting in the work the real VIP, the real goat, and we're not
- 0:08even getting the heat like the rest of the States. We were just looking
- 0:11at the TV. But it's one hundred and nine in a lot of places.
- 0:14It is red everywhere, especially come July sixteenth in a little city called
- 0:19Paris, where the summer Olympics will be held. And now the Olympic Village
- 0:24Amanda does not have air conditioning. There is not air conditioning at the Olympic
- 0:29village. Is the temperature roughly around that time? It is the hottest time
- 0:34of year in Paris. They say four years ago there was a heat wave
- 0:37where temperatures were above one hundred and eight degrees, but it definitely even allowed
- 0:42that to be. Where this is going on. Here's a crazy thing.
- 0:45In Europe. Overall, less than one out of ten households actually have air
- 0:49conditioning, and it gets hot all across Europe. So instead, at this
- 0:54Olympic village, they've installed something else that is not air conditioning, but it's
- 0:59a geo cooling system basically assist a series of pipes that have water running through
- 1:04them. They say, well, keep the rooms somewhere between seventy three and
- 1:07seventy nine degrees. Well, I don't know if I this sounds like DIVA
- 1:12alert. I don't know if I could sleep in those conditions. Well you're
- 1:15not alone, because the US of A said, you know what, that's
- 1:19fine, We're just going to bring our own air conditioning units. So now
- 1:23Team USA will be bringing their own units. I can only imagine what that
- 1:27costs. Well, it's it's of no issue, man, it's Team USA.
- 1:32It's don't make the world. It's the biggest competition in the world.
- 1:34They say to you can't even sneak on a carry on for one hundred dollars.
- 1:38Well, they said, they talked to the athletes and they said that
- 1:42it is a very high priority for them that the rooms be consistent with what
- 1:45they're used to. So they're going to be bringing their own to enhance their
- 1:49performance capabilities. It's not the only country. Australia, for example, they
- 1:55plan to spend one hundred thousand dollars to bring their own air conditioning. Yeez,
- 1:59and I say, well, they appreciate the concept of not having air
- 2:01conditioning due to the carbon footprint. It leaves. They say they're going to
- 2:07bring their own anyway. So that is so interesting that we would I mean,
- 2:13I guess I don't know. People always vote to see where we're going
- 2:15to have the next Olympic Games and all that, but you would think that
- 2:17would have been like one of the number one things. Is there comfortable quarters
- 2:22for people? Yeah? Right now. I know a lot of people like
- 2:25don't use air conditioning. For example, over the weekend, Amanda, I
- 2:30was in Florida. We went down to visit my wife's dad who lives in
- 2:32Orlando, and it's just hot all the time, and you know, he's
- 2:37getting up there. He's like probably sixty nine, and so I know a
- 2:38lot of the older you get sometimes you're on certain meds that just make you
- 2:42cold, or you just don't have as much padding as you used to,
- 2:45right, I'm not kidding. The house and love him, appreciate it hosting
- 2:51us. The house was eighty one degrees and I know that because that's what
- 2:54the thermostat was set at eighty one degree one one degrees. Why do you
- 3:00even function in that? Well, you lay there and you sweat. Oh
- 3:07and you're already a sweaty snicker. I mean you've told me this, like,
- 3:12no, I'm a sweat Yes, I've shared that information with you.
- 3:15Yes, I was very sweaty. Listen, a ceiling fan goes a long
- 3:19ways, but not not at eighty one. I mean, hey, you
- 3:22save money. Of course, what do you keep your guys this place at
- 3:24because we're sixty eight, Like that's really Nick would love to go down to
- 3:29like sixty six, but I'm like, I gotta be sixty eight. See
- 3:32that's interesting because ours now we live in an apartment currently and it's included,
- 3:36like we don't pay the electric. Yeah, so you know, obviously you
- 3:38get a little more free wheeling with it. But I would say, like
- 3:43seventy one during the day, oh really yeah, sixty eight is pretty cold.
- 3:46And I used to be like that, but now for some reason,
- 3:49I don't know, like seven seventy at night is final and it is,
- 3:52but like last night, especially because it was so hot outside coming in,
- 3:55it was an ice box in our house. But I'm like, I like
- 3:59blankets, like no matter what it's like. Yeah, I know it's ninety
- 4:01right now, but I like coming to my house and having a blanket off
- 4:03and being cozy that way. I like coming into the house and being able
- 4:06to say out loud, gee, you could hang sausages in here? Yeah?
- 4:15I like what? I like that? What is that? I don't?
- 4:17I know it's my temperature. Then I think it has to be a
- 4:19certain attempt to hang. So you're a big hot sausage guy. What besides
- 4:25the point? But yes, like it a minday in the morning, Big
- 4:28nainety eight point seven The judgment zone. Do I need to put some serious
- 4:32pants on, or well judging pants at the very least, because you know,
- 4:35we really once a week at least like to give you the opportunity to
- 4:39judge somebody else's unfortunate situation. And they've agreed to it, which is why
- 4:43they've called in and entered the judgment zone. Now today. Her name is
- 4:46Sarah and she's got a tough one. So listen in and get your judge
- 4:49pants ready. Here we go. Good morning, Sarah. What's going on?
- 4:53Yeah? Okay, Well, my husband comes from a big family and
- 4:57they love to take trips together, and we're to go on the next vacation
- 5:00with them. But I really don't want to, Like there's always some family
- 5:04drama and I would rather spend our money and time off work to go somewhere
- 5:10with just my husband, right, you know, definitely fair? Yes,
- 5:14yeah, it sounds like more fun to me. No, I mean,
- 5:17Sarah, how often would you say that you're going on these big family trips
- 5:20with your in laws at least a couple times a year? Big family guy?
- 5:25Huh? Yeah, yeah, and that's good. It's good that he's
- 5:27a family guy. But I could do without the drama. I could really
- 5:30use a break from everything, and I just want to be with him.
- 5:33But when I bring this up, he says that I just need to suck
- 5:35it up because it's family. And I'm wondering how I can make him understand
- 5:41and agree to skip this whole getaway. Okay, gosh, and are we
- 5:45talking like a week long getaway weekends? Kind of a mix? Uh,
- 5:49it's a week which feels like a month. Yea, that's tough because you
- 5:54only get a certain amount offication days, I'm sure. And yeah, it
- 5:57would be nice to not have to a lot two vacations a year. You
- 6:00think there'd be some sort of compromise to narrow it down to at least like
- 6:04one or shorten it up, so it's just you guys go for a certain
- 6:06amount of the time. There's got to be some compromise exactly. Well,
- 6:12let's see what people think. This is an interesting one. So we'll get
- 6:15some calls, we'll get some texts, and get some thoughts on what you
- 6:16exactly should do given that your husband is not willing to budge and wants you
- 6:21to go on multiple big family trips a year. So Sarah hank tied and
- 6:25listen in Okay, okay, all right, seven to one, two to
- 6:28eight ozho one ninety eight seven. What should Sarah do? She's got a
- 6:30less situation where I mean a bit of champagne problems, like, oh my
- 6:33god, too many vacations. Yeah, but I get it. I mean
- 6:38if you say you get a lot of people get seven to ten days of
- 6:41vacation a year, and if it's with your in laws the whole time,
- 6:44and I get there's traditions and that's always hard to break. But there comes
- 6:47a point where you're gonna have to put your foot down, and I get
- 6:50adjust. Up until now, this has been part of his life where he's
- 6:54just going on all of these family trips. But you know, once you
- 6:56start dating somebody and it gets serious, like now you got your own life,
- 6:59and yeah, you can still do those things, but you also got
- 7:00to create kind of your own traditions, right And at the same time,
- 7:05if anybody, if you've been in a relationship with a little something called in
- 7:09laws, you know there are things you do just to sort of appease that
- 7:13side of your life that maybe you wouldn't want to otherwise, but you just
- 7:17do it because that's what you do. Now, if you both absolutely hate
- 7:21it, then of course don't go well, and that's the problem. It
- 7:24would be different if it was that case, but it's the exact opposite.
- 7:28This guy is like all in this is he might look forward to it.
- 7:31Ladies, Chiman and all up on Facebook? Are you ready bike? This
- 7:34is going to crack you up, Addie chiming in saying you could just stay
- 7:38home and let him go on the trip. Top fan Yolanda says, pretend
- 7:42to have a headache. Oh that's okay, ladies, it doesn't work for
- 7:45everything. I have a headache. I'm not going on a week long trip.
- 7:48Nice try ah And oh yeah it's in three months, Okay, I'll
- 7:51probably have a headache then too, Right, I'm just guessing seven one,
- 7:56two, eight oh one, ninety eight seven. What should he do or
- 7:59she'd good morning. Well, I think that she should have set some boundaries
- 8:03early on, if that was really how she felt. I feel like family
- 8:07is too important. I think she's got to suck it up and go.
- 8:11So you think it's too late. She didn't set boundaries early enough, and
- 8:13so now it's just she's sol I think that ship has sailed. I mean,
- 8:16if she didn't set those boundaries early on, I think any family event
- 8:20kind of takes precedent. So I think she's got to go. Thanks for
- 8:24the perspective, Adam. Appreciate you calling. Thank you so much. Yeah,
- 8:28you just don't have to go. Every time you're an adult, it's
- 8:31this time you realize that you don't have to do anything you don't want to
- 8:33do, regardless of what your spouse says or otherwise. I don't lead to
- 8:39divorce by no means, it's just more of a not today, yeah,
- 8:43or that would be an option to it. Really push comes to shove,
- 8:46just mile over divorce. There you go. I get Amanda in the morning.
- 8:48I know Amanda still let's see. Let's see. Well, Ben Aflackie
- 8:54kind of lost it, and I don't blame him. When the paparazzi are
- 8:58literally all up in you're grilled when you're trying to get home. That's got
- 9:01to get frustrating. He was actually at his shared home with Jennifer Lopez.
- 9:05I know she's in Italy, still, she just put a carousel of pictures
- 9:09of herself and there's did you see the paparazzi taking pictures of her taking pictures
- 9:13of herself? No? It actually kind of made me sad. Is this
- 9:16just like a self love vacation? Like what's going on? You know?
- 9:20I just felt Meanwhile, it's quite the opposite of for Ben who's trying to
- 9:24get home and they're flashing lights while he's driving, which is annoying. Yeah,
- 9:28especially when your kids are going to be close by. Listen, I
- 9:30can't see gause, somebody hurt doing nice. My daughter's coming down here.
- 9:35If you flash the lights on her, you're putting her in danger. Do
- 9:37you understand that? I understand. And the paparazzi are standing there. Let
- 9:41it's very much like getting yelled at by like your friend's parents when you were
- 9:46a kid. You're just like, oh god, yes, oh sorry,
- 9:48sorry I have to respond here. But yes, there's no getting away from
- 9:54it. Unfortunately. No, I know it's crazy, you really like,
- 9:58really nuts, but what can you do, you know, just go in
- 10:01your house and continue being rich and famous and that'll probably make it all better.
- 10:05Well, he did try to move to brett Wood and was hoping that
- 10:07that was gonna keep the paparazzi office tail, and that didn't help. I
- 10:11gotta feel no fine yet, Man, this is gonna get interesting. We
- 10:15know Pat Sajack is out and Ryan Seacrest is in. Vana White signed an
- 10:18extended two year contract because she was excited to just kind of keep rolling.
- 10:22She wasn't quite ready to retire. Well, now we're finding out from a
- 10:26source behind the scenes that there's no vibe between Ryan and Vanna. I guess
- 10:31Rianna's really struggling and she might quit before her contract's done. I feel like
- 10:35the only reason they kept her on is just to like ease for the viewers
- 10:37anyway, to like ease the transition, so it's not just all new all
- 10:41at once, you know. And now that that's sort of served its purpose,
- 10:45maybe she can find work elsewhere. I don't know, if you're what
- 10:48do you think her resume looks like? Or what does she search when she's
- 10:50looking for new jobs. I don't think she's had to. I think she's
- 10:54probably cash in and how a life of luxury. I don't even know what
- 10:56you would what does humor? Me just pretend game show talent, not host,
- 11:01but sidekick. I don't even know letter letter turner. I just don't
- 11:07know what's out there in that market. And I could be totally wrong,
- 11:11you know, I don't know she could you know what could happen. She
- 11:13could go to the Prices right and just tell Drew Carrey, I'm just gonna
- 11:18be by the wheel and that's it, like just there ortise help with like
- 11:22plank o or yeah yeah, yeah yeah, because there's plank like you flip
- 11:26it over to reveal the actual retail price. And she could do that.
- 11:31He kind of I think he kind of handles all of that. One of
- 11:33the showcase show girls. Are they still around? I haven't watched Prices right
- 11:37for so many years. You're gonna have somebody showing off the he and kids
- 11:46and actually families are just gonna love this. Eddie Murphy confirmed we're getting more
- 11:50Shrek. We started doing a trick for four or five months ago. I
- 11:54did this. I recorded the first act, and we'll be doing this year,
- 12:01will finished it up and be another Shrek is coming out, and there's
- 12:03a Donkey. Donkey's gonna have his own movie. We're gonna do a Dunkey
- 12:07Donkey as well. So we're gonna do a Shrek and we're doing a Dunky.
- 12:11That's nice. I mean, I'm excited about that. I woke up
- 12:13this morning thinking, I hope I hear Eddie Burby say Donkey fifteen times,
- 12:18and well I got Dunky. Not quite but it was close. No,
- 12:20that's great. Those are just timeless movies. I mean hilarious. I still
- 12:24I don't know if I've seen four? Is there a fourth out there?
- 12:28I thought they were doing four. I must have missed it because but then
- 12:31they started. It's not like Shrek for like Shrek married after Shrek married,
- 12:37and this will be Shrek divorced. And then yes, we've got Shrek,
- 12:41Shrek to Shrek, the third, Shrek, the holes. I missed Shrek
- 12:46a special Holiday, yeah, right, the DVD movie Shrek Forever after ah,
- 12:52and then I don't know, there's a voice, so Mike Meyers a
- 12:54Shrek in fun fact, you have you ever heard that? It was supposed
- 12:58to be Chris Barley. That's how far back these movies go, Like when
- 13:01the first one is being made, they had Chris Farley and then he passed
- 13:05away. Gosh, I just think I knew that, Dyana? Who are
- 13:07you? Who are looking for a Cameron Diamonds? Fiona? Yep? Donkey?
- 13:13Is Eddie Murphy? Any other household names in there? Nothing that's really
- 13:16ringing any bells over here? Do you know who John Lithgow is? Oh?
- 13:20Yeah, from Third Rock from the Sun. Okay, that's a that's
- 13:24a lord fark war Uh huh. You don't want to take a whack at
- 13:28that pass and Amanda in the morning on sage seven names are in most popular
- 13:35gender neutral baby names of twenty twenty four because they're becoming more and more popular.
- 13:41Oh totally. I think a lot of people don't want to fight out
- 13:43the gender of their child and they come up with one name and it's like
- 13:46this is it, let's roll. Yeah, And very few gender neutral names
- 13:50are exactly neutral, you know it definitely like leans one way. Like for
- 13:54example, the number one gender neutral name of twenty twenty four was Dylan.
- 13:58Now when you hear Dylan, I automatically think of a boy thing of a
- 14:01fella. But a lot of people are looking for like unique names these days,
- 14:05and so this is a good way to find a unique name. It's
- 14:07just naming uh the baby sort of maybe the opposite sex name that just Dylan.
- 14:13Dylan, Uh definitely feels more manly to me, or it does.
- 14:16Yeah, I'm trying to picture dating a Dylan for example, and it just
- 14:22you known. But then again you could talk me into it depending on the
- 14:26person. Well, and I'm the spelling of that, is it? D
- 14:28I L l O N for a girl, Amanda? You can do whatever
- 14:33you want do I L A N is how they have it on the official
- 14:35Social Securities list, And you know they keep tabs on names in the generally
- 14:39they're pretty accurate about it. Now a couple on here angel or now would
- 14:45that be on hale? Okay, I've ever had anybody say on hell on
- 14:52hell for on hell? You literally if you've never seen Amanda, you are
- 14:56Spanish? I am like and so I made My name is Soronto like the
- 15:01Chili. So why am I a gringo sit here not saying it correctly?
- 15:09I took two years of Spanish and I think I knew less by the end
- 15:11of it than I did when I started in high school. Okay, No,
- 15:16that's also that's not gonna work for me. A male Angel, I
- 15:18think you're just really I watched the show You ever watch Sons of Anarchy?
- 15:24No, okay, great show. I know you haven't seen it because it's
- 15:26a great show. But they did a spin off called The Mayans, and
- 15:31there was a Spanish gentleman on their named Angel. Okay, but yeah,
- 15:35no, I mean it works. A couple others are like Parker. Oh,
- 15:39hang on, Parker for a girl. I like that. I like
- 15:41Parker better for a girl than a guy. Yeah, that one I'm gonna
- 15:45I'm gonna go gender neutral. That's my favorite so far on the list.
- 15:48Logan another one I struggle with for a lady. See, I actually like
- 15:52Logan for a girl. Avery that one I do with a guy or girl
- 15:58a girl? Oh? Really? See that one? Truly I think can
- 16:02go both ways. And this is coming from a guy. It's a shock
- 16:04you, but my birth name is not Pike and it's very gender neutral for
- 16:08the time, especially Taylor, which nobody in the world calls me that other
- 16:12than my wife. Yeah, it is very weird. When somebody calls you
- 16:15Taylor, it's jarring too. It's daring to me. Even my friends from
- 16:18high school, like, I have seven different nicknames, none of which are
- 16:22that so, yeah, Taylor is definitely gender and neutral. Yeah. Well,
- 16:26I mean, we had a class of seventy at dilwarth glinnon Felton High
- 16:27School and in our class, three of us were named Taylor, and we
- 16:32were all guys, and we all had nobody was called that. We all
- 16:34had nicknames. You were the first boy Taylor I had met. I always
- 16:38knew girl Taylor's Yeah, and there's a couple of famous girls named Taylor that
- 16:42kind of you know, my god, add some luster to the name.
- 16:48Weird that that didn't even cross my mind, right, Yeah? Yeah,
- 16:51her and I always bonded in that way. Missus Swift, Did you did
- 16:56meet Taylor at one point? I say hi, Jan Taylor or did you
- 16:59say I? I blew? Well, I didn't say anything, but that's
- 17:02that would have been a great line. I was so nervous I couldn't speak.
- 17:04All I had to do is say, hey, we have the same
- 17:07name. You guys could have been t squared. I don't know. Who
- 17:11this Travis guy is. But I mean, of course Lauren was the one
- 17:15meant for you. Of course imagine back, you know, yeah, if
- 17:18you could have got a retention with that, how how different our lives could
- 17:21be? All right? Is there any other good ones on there? I
- 17:25know they're all bad? So like Rowan Carter Kai. If you have another
- 17:30child they have considered Kai. Actually our kids go to school with a Kai.
- 17:33Yeah, super cute. I like, I like Kai, and I
- 17:36do like it for a boy. The other feels like half of something else.
- 17:41There should be more to it. We have a friend or a little
- 17:45nephew name or a cousin named Kais. I like Ku? Oh stop it?
- 17:48Yeah? And I don't know this child or it's parents, and I
- 17:52don't want to offend them. But Kaiss like right, that couldn't Like I
- 17:57had just said about Kai. It feels like it's half of another word.
- 18:00Could Like I know I have friends with a kid named Kaison. There's a
- 18:04lot of Kysons running around Heisen. I've never heard that name really, Kyson.
- 18:08Yeah, that's like I know what called you would call Kaison Hi or
- 18:14kiss? But to just all right, hey, trending, Now here's what
- 18:19you need to know. The Pargo Police Department is seeking the public selp and
- 18:22locating in two vehicles that we're seeing leaving at high speeds. This was following
- 18:27a fatal shooting. This happened last night in the twenty two hundred block of
- 18:30sixth Avenue South right here in Fargo. So the two vehicles are gray Hyundai
- 18:34Santa Fe north to goo to plates are six to eight dz R. And
- 18:37then there's also an orange Jeep Compass with unknown plates. If you have any
- 18:41information, contact police. If you do see these vehicles, do not approach,
- 18:45Just call nine to one one. That's right over here. I know
- 18:48you can't see where I'm at or where I'm pointing, but it is right
- 18:52over here. It sure is. Man Snoop Dogg. I totally forgot because
- 19:00we the headline everybody's seeing is he ran a race for the Olympic Trials,
- 19:03a two hundred meter dash. I'm like, oh wha, what is he
- 19:07doing? His athlete era, Well, he is going to be doing some
- 19:11commentating, remember for the Olympics, which I think will be kind of fun.
- 19:15I like that they're adding that they should have it, like you know
- 19:17how Monday night football has the Manning cast like the alternative. Yes, yes,
- 19:19yeah, you should be able to flip over and just have Snoop dogg
- 19:22no preparation because you've seen him do like the nature videos, right, he'll
- 19:26just sit there. Not it's like Planet Earth with Snoop Dog and he just
- 19:30sits there and talks about whatever he sees. He's just like, oh what
- 19:33is that? Oh what what's he doing? Oh? Oh well he's gonna
- 19:37get him now. See it's hilarious. So he did the two hundred meter
- 19:41and he locked in a time of thirty four point four to four seconds.
- 19:44For comparison, the twenty twenty Olympic gold medalist had nineteen point six two seconds.
- 19:49Yip, I mean fifty two. It's bess with than you thing.
- 19:53Maybe I don't know, I don't know. He's got his long limbs too.
- 19:56You think he just kind of be able to high step his way to
- 19:59a sub thirty. But he might smoke a little too much for a running
- 20:03gut. Well, it's not great for the lungs, I'm told. And
- 20:07Stanley now targeting your poor little kids ages like three to five. They've got
- 20:11a ten out Stanley that they're selling it target for twenty bucks. It's gone
- 20:15viral because people are like, oh my gosh, my kid has a Stanley.
- 20:18I mean, I will tell you this, it feels like a problem.
- 20:22But then I started thinking, because my kids need new water bottles,
- 20:26and the ones that they have are like fourteen bucks and they're the plastic ones
- 20:30with the little animals on them anyway, like Camelbacker think is the name of
- 20:33them, Camelback And they don't even keep the water cold long enough, so
- 20:37kind of has me going, maybe they as Stanley at least I know we'll
- 20:41keep the cold it does, and like literally days can go by and there's
- 20:44still ice in there, which is wild. I'm not really not needed.
- 20:48And I hate hating on Stanley because I also love that that's still the old
- 20:52school thermos that you know, my dad's using it the hunting shack. Yeah
- 20:56right, it really made a call. And they still do, you know,
- 20:59like a screwdrivers and things like that, right, really Stanley, Oh
- 21:04yeah, they do all kinds of products. Huh really, let me look
- 21:08it up really in the game, all right, yeah, oh Stanley,
- 21:11Oh this is just a tip of the iceberg. Well, well you look
- 21:14that up. Speaking of water, make sure you stay hydrated. Today it
- 21:17is gonna be hot again. High of eighty six, nothing but sunshine.
- 21:19Looking ahead at your forecast tomorrow cools down a little to seventy five, and
- 21:23while Pike is still searching, we are going, you are We're gonna be
- 21:27in the mid seventies of the week. Did you see Saturday? Though?
- 21:30I saw like a sixty six in Lakes Area? Not having that really?
- 21:34Yeah, a little too chilly for me. All right, So here's where
- 21:37the portion of the show where we just list products that Stanley produces. I'm
- 21:41at Stanley Tools dot Com and under it just hand tools alone. We've got
- 21:45measuring and layout tools, levels, bucking yeah, screwdrivers, pliers, snips.
- 21:52I mean, you want me to go into the outdoor. So now
- 21:55I think we're probably good here. Pressure Stanley's your guy, pretty good stuff.
- 22:00Can you send this clip see if we can let them know that we've
- 22:03been talking about them. Let's get Stared to New York City, see if
- 22:11they'll hire us. Oh, got it? Because this is such just such
- 22:14a good stray programming like Get Amanda in the Morning on Big Amanda just said
- 22:22something out loud to me and it's one of those moments where you think you
- 22:23know somebody I know and you think that they know you, and then I
- 22:27I as soon as I said it, and then I like thought about it,
- 22:30and then you looked at me. It was like, uh duh.
- 22:33You know, for as much as you hear us conversing on the radio,
- 22:37there's ten times that much conversing that has to happen between you know, what
- 22:41songs and commercials are playing, so we get to chatting quite a lot.
- 22:45I like to think you know a lot about me and vice versa. I
- 22:47mean, you just almost fifteen years of knowing each other. Amanda just asked
- 22:51out loud. She just goes, hey, do you play fantasy football?
- 22:56I know, if I were to like rain the things that are important about
- 23:00me, if I want what I want people to know about me, It's
- 23:04like, you know, plays in a band, likes the golf, and
- 23:08loves fantasy football. I mean, come on, what I kind of question
- 23:11is that? I know? Well, I just stumbled on this thing and
- 23:14it's a new study saying fantasy sports could be ruining your mental health. And
- 23:18as soon as I saw that, I'm like, this is me doing you
- 23:19a public service. And then I'm like wha wait, did you give up?
- 23:22Because this is where I got confused, because before yet dabbled into the
- 23:29golf, I think it would have went. I think it would have went.
- 23:33I'm in a band. Yeah, I'm addicted to gambling and blackjack.
- 23:37What the heck is that? That's kind of this was years back. Like
- 23:41gambling, there was a I feel like I feel like there was a there
- 23:47was a time, there was a time there might have been a problem.
- 23:49In my opinion, and now in my older age clarity, it's all a
- 23:55problem, right, you know, losing money or risking money? Is it?
- 23:59So this is where when you kind of slid away from the blackjack table.
- 24:03I kind of thought you went away from fantasy sports, but apparently not,
- 24:07so you're still all in. You know. I thought going into this
- 24:10conversation, I couldn't be more offended because you don't know that about me.
- 24:14But now here you are throwing other slanderous statements out there. Well, they're
- 24:18saying, because study it's I could tell you that what do you think?
- 24:21What do you think is the matter with me? From September till February,
- 24:23So they're saying players engage with the game. They are more extreme with their
- 24:29emotions, and that's one of the biggest things. They're just really worried about
- 24:33your mental health because it's kind of taking over. Does your husband play fantasy
- 24:37football, no, fantasy anything. What's his fantasy there's got to be one.
- 24:45If it ain't football, it's something else. He's also a big golfer.
- 24:49He loves golf, so I think fast real golf, because they got
- 24:52fantasy golf too, if you really want you Yeah, he's not into that
- 24:56because oddly enough, you know, he doesn't really get into professional sports.
- 25:00It's that much he loves all. Do they have college fantasy? Of course,
- 25:03yeah, you can. You can do fantasy anything. You can do
- 25:04fantasy. I name a thing. I am shocked that he doesn't do that.
- 25:08Well. I would encourage him to not because it's it is a mental
- 25:14health. It does wear on you for sure. So where he works,
- 25:17they do like you pick games like a Pickham kind of situation, and even
- 25:21that he'll be like, oh my gosh, I have five minutes, like
- 25:22he forgets to partake in all of those. Then don't let him play because
- 25:26nobody likes those guys who just don't set the line up. Oh trust me,
- 25:30I won for sure two years in a row. It might have been
- 25:33three years in a row, like four hundred bucks, because I was on
- 25:36a fantasy team and I really got into it the first time, but I
- 25:40was the one who kind of let it go and just always got lucky.
- 25:44And that that would be so frustrating if I was passionate about something and then
- 25:48somebody like me was a part of it. It is all, admit,
- 25:51at the end of the day, it's it's all luck, you know,
- 25:53Yeah, they're right like me and my friends. It's the same group of
- 25:56us literally been in the same fantasy football league since seventh grade. We've been
- 26:00doing this cue it is, but it's like a big deal among our friend
- 26:03group and we try so hard and then every year it would be the one
- 26:07guy who you know cares the least but just happens to draft a stacked team.
- 26:11What's the going rate? How much money is on the line for your
- 26:12career? For us, it's not about money at all. I think we
- 26:15do fifty dollars a guy, which is pretty minimal. Like there's much higher
- 26:18stakes leagues. It's all about the bragging rights for us. And there's a
- 26:22trophy, a traveling trophy we named it after our eighth grade science teacher,
- 26:26Dean Calso. Why why because he's a legend. Why is he a legend?
- 26:32We've got to know is he still around? I think he is.
- 26:33Last I heard Dean still I think he retired to a big cormorant. So
- 26:37he's just out there living life. And he listen, he was my dad's
- 26:41high school teacher. Like, this is how long Dean Calso? And for
- 26:44the record, his name is not actually Dean. We just started calling him
- 26:47that. What I think his name is Dave. This is the most bizarre
- 26:51situation. I'm really trying to follow a lot. I think when we started
- 26:53like d Calso and if we just start calling him, we assumed it must
- 26:57be Dean. Listen. We had a lot of fun in his class,
- 27:02probably gave him more gray hairs than he already had. Wow, it was
- 27:04a lot of fun, and so we thought we would immortalize him by naming
- 27:07the Fantasy football trophy after him. Does he know about this or do you
- 27:11think somebody is currently calling him right now going dude, do you have any
- 27:15idea? I don't think he does. He would probably like roll his eyes,
- 27:18thinking we're just screwing with him, but it's very genuinely in honor of
- 27:22him. This is wild, but long story short, don't let your husband
- 27:26play fantasy football because the thing about people who do it's all they talk about.
- 27:30They talk about their team. And the other thing is nobody cares about
- 27:33your fantasy football nobody unless you're in that group of people. No, even
- 27:38then, we all love talking about our team. But all you're doing while
- 27:41the person is talking about their team is waiting for your turn to talk so
- 27:45you can talk about your team. The one thing I do miss about it
- 27:48is it made it a lot more fun to watch all the games on a
- 27:52Sunday, just because you're kind of pulling for whatever This person and their stats
- 27:56as gambling too listens a sports game on the TV that you really don't care
- 28:02about. Want to know A quick way to care about it is put some
- 28:04money on it. True. Yeah, and now maybe gambling's not so bad.
- 28:08No, ma, get a man in the morning. See, I
- 28:11hope your days off to a lovely start and you're not facing what this woman
- 28:15faced mentally, so much to the point where she spent one hundred and sixty
- 28:19two thousand dollars on a cosmetic surgery because she was so unhappy with how she
- 28:25looked. I hate when you hear stories like this, Yes, where somebody
- 28:27doesn't feel adequate enough. We're confident enough in what they've got going on.
- 28:30But that's a lot of money. What did we do here. Her name
- 28:33is Teresa Up. She's a blonde woman who used to be five feet six
- 28:37inches tall, and she for some reason thought that she needed to be taller,
- 28:42and so much so that her now ex husband told her that if she
- 28:47went for a surgery, which you've heard more and more of this happening.
- 28:49I think we had a guy not that long ago we talked about. It's
- 28:52a leg lengthening surgery to make you taller, where they literally doctors will break
- 28:59your femur, which sounds like the most painful thing in the world, because
- 29:02it probably is. They add in these little, you know, extenders that
- 29:07slowly over the healing process, like increase by a millimeter a day. And
- 29:11so this woman paid one hundred and sixty two thousand dollars to get her legs
- 29:15lengthened. And now after years of the surgery, she really went all in.
- 29:21She is now a whopping six feet tall, growing six and a half
- 29:25inches from her original height. I mean I get where some people feel like
- 29:29five six though that does not feel short to me, Like that just feels
- 29:32like it for a woman, No, no, yeah, and even for
- 29:34a guy. I just don't know if I would go to those extremes.
- 29:37Well, it's just so much money. I mean, like if it was
- 29:40one hundred and sixty dollars, but yeah, I'd be eight feet tall right
- 29:42now. But what'd you actually go through with that procedure at this point in
- 29:47your life? Maybe when you were younger, did you would you think like,
- 29:48oh, yeah, but yeah, I mean if there was for sure
- 29:52a surgery, yeah, like oh absolutely, yeah. I mean it's uh,
- 29:56it's probably the worst thing going for me. So if I could eliminate
- 30:00that, that'd be fantastic. Listen, I love to sit here and go
- 30:03no, I don't care. But when you're reminded every day of how short
- 30:07you are, it's like, well, people are just I'd be willing to
- 30:08pay some money for the total tools. It's no problem. Weird to me,
- 30:14how people, because I've known you for so long, we'll just say
- 30:18things like that where it's like it's like you don't know, but like,
- 30:21why would you feel that that's okay. You don't come up to me and
- 30:22be like, oh that Amanda, she's got whatever. You know, you
- 30:26don't say that. Well, people would never say it about your weight.
- 30:29And that's like the struggle I faced them, like why, well, why
- 30:32is it okay to say it about a man specifically you know, women's height.
- 30:36It's like, yeah, really, I mean really, it's just it
- 30:38tells me that you're just not an intelligent person and not somebody I care to
- 30:41ever converse associate with. However, it would be totally fine if if people
- 30:45just didn't have to be jerks. Really, I mean, that's that's it.
- 30:48More. Alt of the story here is dummy, you wouldn't have to
- 30:52drop the money like that. But you know it's fine. I've got my
- 30:56health and my family. My family loves anyway, I think anyway, So
- 31:03I won't be paying one hundred and sixty two thousand dollars for what they call
- 31:06the Frankenstein surgery. Now, this lady, can we call it something different?
- 31:10To men? When you're extending limbs like that, Oh my god,
- 31:12I mean proportionally like it can really throw things off. So here's this blonde
- 31:15woman, Teresa we're talking about. Oh, she's got the torso of a
- 31:19five foot six person. Yeah, and she's got these freakishly long legs,
- 31:23which I listen, I get like women, you know, long legs,
- 31:27that's the thing that'd be a desirable feature. But there's a point that's a
- 31:30looking like that's not even eltory model behavior. When you said, Frankenstein,
- 31:34they're not joking. Just just be happy with yourself. Unless it's at a
- 31:38reasonable cost, then go ahead and take care of it.
