- 0:00Speaker 1: Plugged into everything New York, Mark Simone on 710WOR. Well, hey,
- 0:08Speaker 1: it's almost Friday, Thursday. It's almost Friday. The Yankees have won.
- 0:12Speaker 1: They go on to the next round. That's great news.
- 0:15Speaker 1: They're finally, hopefully, going to do something about these e-bikes
- 0:19Speaker 1: in New York. The city council has been holding hearings
- 0:23Speaker 1: and people have been coming into the city council testifying.
- 0:27Speaker 1: horror stories about e-bikes and survivors of crashes. They came
- 0:32Speaker 1: in and shared their horror stories at a city council
- 0:37Speaker 1: hearing that took place yesterday. They want to pass legislation,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and this is very important. This is a really important
- 0:43Speaker 1: piece of legislation that would finally stop this reckless free-for-all
- 0:50Speaker 1: with these e-bikes and e-things, the regular bikes, e-bikes, scooters,
- 0:55Speaker 1: all this stuff speeding around, zipping around, going through red lights,
- 1:01Speaker 1: riding on the sidewalk. I mean, this is the most
- 1:03Speaker 1: dangerous part of New York. And they're always talking about revenue.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You know, Hochul and Mamdani and these Democrats always look
- 1:10Speaker 1: into ways to pick your pocket, you know, whether it's
- 1:13Speaker 1: congestion pricing, whether it's a pied-à-terre tax. They're always looking
- 1:17Speaker 1: for schemes to take more money from you. You want
- 1:20Speaker 1: to generate revenue, start ticketing all the e-bikes. Start ticketing bikes.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Ticket them. Go through a red light, give them a ticket.
- 1:30Speaker 1: You know how much money you could bring in? Also,
- 1:32Speaker 1: make every one of these things get a license. If
- 1:36Speaker 1: you have a car, you've got to have a driver's license.
- 1:38Speaker 1: You've got to have a registration on your car. You've
- 1:41Speaker 1: got to pay a yearly fee for it. There's a
- 1:43Speaker 1: ton of revenue. Every e-bike, scooter, everything. You've got to
- 1:49Speaker 1: have a license to ride it in New York. It's
- 1:51Speaker 1: got to have a registration sticker on it. You're riding
- 1:55Speaker 1: up on the sidewalk, going the wrong way down the street,
- 1:58Speaker 1: running red lights. You get a ticket. Lots and lots
- 2:01Speaker 1: and lots and lots of tickets. You'd make a fortune
- 2:04Speaker 1: off this. You'd force them to drive slowly and safely
- 2:08Speaker 1: in the middle of New York. Everybody wants this. Everybody. Everybody.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And city council finally holding hearings on it. Now, this
- 2:18Speaker 1: Julie Menon seems pretty good, pretty common sense. You got
- 2:22Speaker 1: a lot of wackos on that city council. But, you know,
- 2:26Speaker 1: they keep talking about the safety, the danger. Besides the revenue,
- 2:30Speaker 1: how many people are getting seriously hurt by this, these e-bikes?
- 2:35Speaker 1: Here's the city council speaker.
- 2:37Speaker 2: The council's now passed several laws on this, and no
- 2:39Speaker 2: one knows anything about them. We passed them for a reason, so...
- 2:43Speaker 2: One of the reasons for this hearing is to get
- 2:45Speaker 2: the commitment from the agencies to actually enforce the current
- 2:48Speaker 2: laws we have in the books that are not being enforced.
- 2:50Speaker 1: We are 100% going to take that back.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And so I'd.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Like a commitment from both agencies in writing to us.
- 2:57Speaker 2: We really want to, I just don't want to have
- 2:58Speaker 2: like more conversations.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Okay. That's the only problem. We don't want any, we
- 3:03Speaker 1: don't need any conversations. Just pass the laws. All the
- 3:07Speaker 1: bikes have to be registered. They all got to have
- 3:10Speaker 1: registration and just pass the law. They have to get ticketed.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Any traffic violations, give them a ticket. It's that simple.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You'll make a fortune and you'll save lives. It's a no-brainer. Hey,
- 3:23Speaker 1: I'm looking at, we got a lot of TV networks on,
- 3:25Speaker 1: a lot of screens up here. This is a Cuomo
- 3:29Speaker 1: mansion purchase. It's getting a lot of attention. Even left-wing,
- 3:33Speaker 1: left-wing biased New York One, they keep repeating it over
- 3:37Speaker 1: and over again. It's not a good look for Cuomo.
- 3:40Speaker 1: You're trying to look like you're a public servant. Andrew Cuomo,
- 3:44Speaker 1: the public servant, just bought a $ 9 million Hamptons mansion
- 3:48Speaker 1: with a tennis court, a pool, a gym, a wine cellar.
- 3:52Speaker 1: It says Cuomo will use the purchase as an investment property.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm not buying that. So the problem
- 4:05Speaker 1: is if you got $ 9 million, apparently he paid cash,
- 4:09Speaker 1: it says, all cash deal. If you've got $ 9 million
- 4:12Speaker 1: in cash and you can write a check like that
- 4:14Speaker 1: for a mansion like this, it's a compound in the Hamptons.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Curtis calls it the Corleone compound. If you've got a
- 4:22Speaker 1: $ 9 million check, you can write just like that. It
- 4:25Speaker 1: means you've probably got $ 30 million at least or more.
- 4:29Speaker 1: And nobody knows where he got all this money. Again,
- 4:32Speaker 1: he's been working in the crypto business for a while,
- 4:34Speaker 1: but who knows. Apparently, he wants to be near his brother,
- 4:39Speaker 1: Chris Cuomo. And apparently he's been seen hanging out at
- 4:44Speaker 1: his buddy Billy Joel's beachfront property. Huh. I wonder if
- 4:49Speaker 1: Billy Joel knows about this. But no, actually, I guess
- 4:51Speaker 1: they're friends. Billy Joel is kind of a left-wing guy.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And he and Cuomo, I would imagine they have things
- 4:57Speaker 1: in common. Both car guys, motorcycle guys, that sort of stuff.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Both love noisy engines, all that stuff. He's also been
- 5:05Speaker 1: a regular at 75 Maine. And Southampton, that is like
- 5:10Speaker 1: the hot spot. That's where all the action is. Nice guy,
- 5:14Speaker 1: Zach Erdem, is the owner of 75 Main. So he's
- 5:16Speaker 1: been seen hanging out there. And that's where the whole
- 5:21Speaker 1: Upper East Side, all those, how are you, the whole
- 5:24Speaker 1: Mar-a-Lago crowd, they're always out there. And that's how Cuomo
- 5:27Speaker 1: started his mayoral bid, by winning them over. They're all
- 5:30Speaker 1: big donors, and that's how he got a lot of money.
- 5:34Speaker 1: But again, he's been working in the crypto business, apparently,
- 5:37Speaker 1: making money. A fortune. All right. But I would think
- 5:42Speaker 1: he's never going to run again. First of all, because
- 5:44Speaker 1: he was totally humiliated in the last race, the mayoral race.
- 5:49Speaker 1: But I also think if you buy a $ 9 million
- 5:51Speaker 1: Hamptons mansion, it's not a good look if you want
- 5:53Speaker 1: to be a mayoral candidate. So I think he realizes
- 5:56Speaker 1: he can't run anymore. It's all over. Hey, the midterms
- 5:59Speaker 1: are like 33 days away. I know you keep hearing
- 6:03Speaker 1: how low the president's approval ratings are. I know you
- 6:06Speaker 1: keep hearing how bad the Republicans are doing in the polls,
- 6:09Speaker 1: but they forget to tell you Democrats' approval ratings are
- 6:13Speaker 1: a lot lower than Trump's, and Democrats' approval ratings are
- 6:17Speaker 1: in the toilet. Here is the CNN pollster.
- 6:20Speaker 3: GOP outperformed September polls by in the major 2024 races,
- 6:23Speaker 3: that is, President and Senate in the states that had
- 6:25Speaker 3: a Senate race. In Iowa, where the Democrats have been
- 6:28Speaker 3: getting really good polls, Republicans outperformed their September polls by
- 6:31Speaker 3: nine points back in 2024.
- 6:32Speaker 1: How about Ohio? Six points. How about Michigan? Five points.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And I will note that the leads that the Democrats
- 6:39Speaker 3: have in all of these races right now are under
- 6:42Speaker 3: how much the GOP outperformed back in 2024. So you
- 6:44Speaker 3: look at this and you go.
- 6:46Speaker 1: You know what?
- 6:47Speaker 3: Maybe we should just hold on a second here because
- 6:50Speaker 3: we've seen this dance before and it was not a
- 6:53Speaker 3: dance that Democrats like when the votes are actually cast
- 6:55Speaker 3: and counted.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's the key to it. These polls are all,
- 6:59Speaker 1: the public polls are all fake. They're just ridiculously rigged.
- 7:01Speaker 1: If you look at the metrics, they're not even close
- 7:04Speaker 1: to trying to be real. The metrics have Republicans at 23%
- 7:08Speaker 1: of the sample. They should be 38%. They're not using
- 7:11Speaker 1: likely voters. They're using the wrong demos deliberately. So, um,
- 7:16Speaker 1: The public polls all rigged. So that's pretty interesting. So
- 7:19Speaker 1: it's all about turnout. That's the key. Turnout. If Republicans
- 7:24Speaker 1: turn out, they win. If Republicans stay home, Democrats can win.
- 7:27Speaker 1: The president is doing a three-state tour. Today he's in Texas.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Over the weekend, he'll be in other places. Now, I'm
- 7:37Speaker 1: just telling you, repeating this story, because if you read
- 7:39Speaker 1: the New York Times or you watch MSNBC or CNN,
- 7:42Speaker 1: you'll never know about this, but... There was a bill
- 7:46Speaker 1: to do something about those AI data centers. It's a
- 7:49Speaker 1: big democratic issue. There's a bill to do something about it.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer and the Democrats blocked it yesterday. They blocked
- 7:57Speaker 1: the bill. Now, why would they do that if they're
- 7:58Speaker 1: against it? Well, one thing about these AI companies, they
- 8:01Speaker 1: got a ton of money, trillions, and they do throw
- 8:05Speaker 1: it around in Washington, D.C. You know, recently they set
- 8:09Speaker 1: up a $ 25 million super PAC. And the money was
- 8:14Speaker 1: immediately doled out to people in Congress. Donations. So the
- 8:18Speaker 1: money was quickly passed out in Washington. And everybody was
- 8:23Speaker 1: told there was going to be more of these super PACs.
- 8:25Speaker 1: So Democrats killed the bill to block the data centers.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Now there was another bill that was going to, you know,
- 8:34Speaker 1: all these congressmen and women, Republicans are just as guilty.
- 8:38Speaker 1: They make a fortune with this insider trading. They have
- 8:41Speaker 1: all sorts of insider information, more than anybody in the
- 8:45Speaker 1: world can have. They find out about test results from
- 8:48Speaker 1: the FDA before anybody. They find out before anybody who's
- 8:51Speaker 1: going to get a government contract. That's how you could
- 8:54Speaker 1: be Nancy Pelosi. You got 35 cents when you go
- 8:58Speaker 1: into office. She's now worth like 800 million. That's how
- 9:01Speaker 1: Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, they're suddenly worth 20 million. This
- 9:05Speaker 1: goes on all the time. It's not just Democrats, Republicans too.
- 9:08Speaker 1: The insider trading, you make a fortune in Congress. So
- 9:12Speaker 1: there was a bill, not to eliminate it, but to
- 9:15Speaker 1: limit it, just to limit it. Senate Democrats blocked it.
- 9:20Speaker 1: They killed it. Senate Democrats blocked it. So they blocked
- 9:24Speaker 1: the AI controls. They blocked the insider trading controls. But
- 9:31Speaker 1: you'll read the New York Times. Go get the whole
- 9:33Speaker 1: New York Times. See if you can find that story
- 9:34Speaker 1: in there. Good luck trying to find it. Hey, oh,
- 9:38Speaker 1: last night we had a great dinner in Long Island.
- 9:41Speaker 1: We went out there. Jim Kerr and I, Jason Roy
- 9:46Speaker 1: is one of our top salespeople. Bernie Weiss is our iHeartPresent.
- 9:49Speaker 1: So we went out to Long Island and we had
- 9:51Speaker 1: dinner with the Richard family of P.C. Richard and Son. Now,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I always tell you, it's a family-owned business. pc richard
- 9:58Speaker 1: what a great great company it is what a great
- 10:01Speaker 1: business yeah you can really trust them they've been in
- 10:03Speaker 1: business five generations 117 years but we had dinner with
- 10:07Speaker 1: the the people that run pc richard glenn richard and
- 10:11Speaker 1: scott richard and abby richard the whole marketing team the
- 10:14Speaker 1: nicest people you could ever meet the nicest most sincere
- 10:18Speaker 1: hard-working So you can trust them on anything. It's a
- 10:25Speaker 1: great company, P.C. Richard & Son. We went to Blackstone's,
- 10:27Speaker 1: one of the great steakhouses in Long Island. That's Anthony
- 10:31Speaker 1: Scotto's place. And so I didn't realize this. So Glenn Richard,
- 10:36Speaker 1: we're talking about P.C. Richard & Son. He said, talking
- 10:40Speaker 1: about how amazing it is to try to control all that.
- 10:42Speaker 1: He said, we knock on 5,000 doors a day. I said,
- 10:46Speaker 1: what do you mean? I didn't realize this. You know,
- 10:49Speaker 1: they got to deliver everything. They deliver the refrigerator. They
- 10:52Speaker 1: deliver the TV. 5,000 deliveries a day. Can you imagine
- 10:58Speaker 1: trying to control all that? Can you imagine this? I'm
- 11:02Speaker 1: trying to do a radio show here. I got two
- 11:04Speaker 1: computers trying to control all this. Wow, it's like a nightmare.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Can you imagine? And he's going to tell me that
- 11:09Speaker 1: they got these incredible warehouse facilities with millions of trucks coming.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Can you imagine making 5,000 deliveries a day? How the
- 11:18Speaker 1: hell could anybody run all of that? You've got to
- 11:20Speaker 1: be a management logistics genius to run that. Hey, speaking
- 11:24Speaker 1: of Long Island, there's a legendary place out there, Ohika Castle.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Probably everybody's been to Ohika Castle at one time or another.
- 11:31Speaker 1: If you're in Long Island, you're there a lot. It's
- 11:34Speaker 1: a big, great Gatsby mansion with a million acres and
- 11:37Speaker 1: a golf course and all this. It's an unbelievable place.
- 11:40Speaker 1: It's where everybody has their wedding. There's all kinds of
- 11:42Speaker 1: parties there. It's where Anthony Weiner got married. Remember Bill
- 11:46Speaker 1: Clinton officiated the wedding. You want to bring your marriage.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Bad luck. Have Bill Clinton do the ceremony. Bill Clinton
- 11:57Speaker 1: does the ceremony. Remember I told you at the time,
- 12:00Speaker 1: I said, this is bad luck. Having Bill Clinton do it.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Sure enough, they get married. The storybook fairy tale wedding.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Two seconds later, they find out he's a pervert sexting
- 12:09Speaker 1: with the kids on the internet. Next thing you know,
- 12:12Speaker 1: they're divorced. Um, But it's a legendary place in Long Island. Well,
- 12:16Speaker 1: the guy that owns it is quite a character, that guy. Anyway,
- 12:20Speaker 1: he filed bankruptcy. So it's been seized by the creditors.
- 12:25Speaker 1: It's up for auction if you want Oheka Castle. October 27th,
- 12:30Speaker 1: it'll be auctioned. Concierge auctions. Oh, look at this. Buyers
- 12:36Speaker 1: must pony up $ 750, 000. to even bid, I guess. It's
- 12:43Speaker 1: 113,000 square feet, the mansion. So it'll be auctioned. It
- 12:47Speaker 1: was quite a place. It was originally built like as
- 12:49Speaker 1: a great Gatsby mansion. And sure enough, in the 1920s,
- 12:52Speaker 1: they had those great Gatsby-type parties there. Then it became
- 12:56Speaker 1: serious for a while. It was used during World War
- 12:59Speaker 1: II for radio operators. You remember what many consider the
- 13:03Speaker 1: greatest film ever made, Citizen Kane? And they showed Xanadu,
- 13:07Speaker 1: where the guy lived. Well, that was Oheka Castle. They
- 13:09Speaker 1: used it for the movie. So pretty interesting. Who's expected
- 13:14Speaker 1: to buy it? No one knows. Although Taconic Capital is
- 13:18Speaker 1: the hedge fund that holds the mortgage. So they could
- 13:22Speaker 1: be one of the buyers. Hey, remember Senator George Mitchell?
- 13:25Speaker 1: He was this old, old, old senator from Maine. Senator
- 13:29Speaker 1: George Mitchell. And he was a very distinguished-looking old senator.
- 13:36Speaker 1: A big deal in Maine. He was the Maine senator
- 13:38Speaker 1: for a million years. Like at Maine University, things are
- 13:41Speaker 1: named after him. The building is named after him. The
- 13:44Speaker 1: scholarship is named after him. Senator George Mitchell. Well, now
- 13:49Speaker 1: they want his name torn off the building. They want
- 13:51Speaker 1: his name off the scholarship. He's 93. He's still with us.
- 13:55Speaker 1: He's 93. Because apparently he's mentioned more than 300 times
- 13:59Speaker 1: in the Epstein files. Listen, this guy... Didn't do anything
- 14:05Speaker 1: bad with Epstein. Epstein had a million aspects of his personality.
- 14:10Speaker 1: One of the things he did was he bought a
- 14:14Speaker 1: lot of politicians. You can buy politicians. He would donate
- 14:18Speaker 1: millions and millions and millions of these politicians' campaigns. They're
- 14:23Speaker 1: super PACs. He would write massive checks. Now, if you
- 14:25Speaker 1: do that for politicians, they will come to your house.
- 14:28Speaker 1: They will have dinner with you, lunch with you. If
- 14:31Speaker 1: you're having a party, they'll come shake everybody's hand. You
- 14:34Speaker 1: can buy, this is done all the time. You can
- 14:37Speaker 1: do it with senators, with presidents. That's what George Mitchell
- 14:40Speaker 1: was doing. Fundraising. And if you need the Senate Democratic Committee,
- 14:46Speaker 1: you call Epstein, he'll send you a million dollars. Every
- 14:49Speaker 1: time you call him, he'll send you a million. So
- 14:51Speaker 1: that's all it was. This is nothing sexual. First of all,
- 14:53Speaker 1: you ever see George Mitchell? I guarantee you, there's not
- 14:57Speaker 1: enough Viagra in the world for him to have done anything.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Forget Viagra. The guy would need, Jumper cables. I mean,
- 15:04Speaker 1: nothing happened with George Mitchell. But the poor guy that
- 15:07Speaker 1: had taken his name off the building. And just because
- 15:12Speaker 1: you're in the Epstein files. I'm in the Epstein files
- 15:14Speaker 1: six times. Nothing bad. Nothing bad. He was coming to
- 15:18Speaker 1: a show I was emceeing. One time there was an email,
- 15:21Speaker 1: something I said on the radio. One time it was
- 15:24Speaker 1: Jackie Martling was emailing him and mentioned me. So a
- 15:28Speaker 1: lot of things. You see it. The top restaurants in
- 15:31Speaker 1: New York will show up like 42 times in the
- 15:33Speaker 1: Epstein files. Nothing bad. It's just because he would go
- 15:37Speaker 1: there and they have his American Express bills in the file.
- 15:41Speaker 1: So the type of certain restaurant would come up 47 times. Anyway,
- 15:45Speaker 1: we'll take some calls next. We got the phone. The
- 15:48Speaker 1: phones are fixed. Let's test them out. Call us, especially
- 15:51Speaker 1: if you're a new caller. We'd love to hear from you.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Give us a call. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 15:54Speaker 2: 800- 321-0710.
