- 0:55Quinton Coppols. He's joined us.
- 0:57He's been an ecstatic, you know, interesting fella.
- 1:02And, and as we get to know him, we'll get to know a little bit
- 1:05more about his personality. He doesn't like pie.
- 1:08He likes to eat healthy and he likes his fish.
- 1:11You know, Speedy, you like fish. I do.
- 1:16I love. Most types.
- 1:17I should say all but most most types.
- 1:19No, I'm a pie guy too. My fault.
- 1:21OK, you like pie? You like that red salt?
- 1:24Pie. Sweet potato pie.
- 1:25Oh, sweet potato pie. You want to get me sweet potato?
- 1:28Pie. How about?
- 1:28How about poutang pie? How about that?
- 1:31No, no thank. You.
- 1:32I don't want poutang pie. No, you're not looking for any
- 1:35of that, right? Not looking for it at.
- 1:37All you got, you got a beautiful lady, so why do you need that,
- 1:40right? Why would I?
- 1:46All right, ladies and gentlemen, we're going to get into the AL
- 1:48and NL E preview. The National League East is
- 1:51projected to be an interesting three team race, with the Braves
- 1:56win total projected to be 86.5, the Phillies 89.5 and the Mets
- 2:0190.5. The Braves resign closer Ricelle
- 2:05Iglesias traded for outfielder Mike.
- 2:09How do you pronounce your Shem, whatever his name is?
- 2:12I don't know why you're giving me these.
- 2:14Gave a big contract to All Star reliever Robert Suarez and
- 2:19brought back Chris Sale to a one year deal.
- 2:21The Phillies were able to bring back a JT Realmuto and Kyle
- 2:26Schwarber but lost Ranger Suarez.
- 2:28The Mets traded Freddie Peralta, gave a big contract to Beau
- 2:32Bichette which is playing off key from shortstop to third base
- 2:36which makes no sense, and and signed Jorge Polanco while
- 2:40losing Pete Alonzo and Edwin Diaz and trading Jeff McNeil and
- 2:45also Brandon Nimmo to the Rangers and Mark for Marcus
- 2:49Simeon. Four teams in the American
- 2:52League East have a projected win total over 85 with the Orioles.
- 2:57I I have no idea how this this is even true at 85.5, the Red
- 3:02Sox at 87.5, the Blue Jays at 88.5 and the Yankees at 90.5.
- 3:09The Orioles brought back starting pitcher Zac Eflin,
- 3:13signing starting pitcher Chris Bassett, Bassett and signed two
- 3:19former relievers, Ryan, what is it?
- 3:22Helsley and star first baseman Pete Alonso.
- 3:26The Red Sox traded veteran pitcher Sonny Gray, which
- 3:29absolutely blows, and catcher Wilson Contreras and also gave
- 3:34Ranger Suarez a big contract. The Blue Jays signed Japanese
- 3:37third baseman Akamoto. What a name.
- 3:41Brought in two former Mets pitchers, reliever Tyler Rogers
- 3:46and starter Max Scherzer, and gave Dylan Sees a big contract.
- 3:51The Yankees traded for pitcher Ryan Weathers, brought back
- 3:54reliever Tim Hill, infield Ahmed Rosario and alfielder Trent
- 4:00Grisham and resigned Cody Bellinger to A5 year deal.
- 4:05So let's get into the National League East because I think the
- 4:08National League East is going to be more wide open than the
- 4:12American League East. I, I think and I'll, I'll get
- 4:14into the American League East and why I'm going to give you my
- 4:16take on it. I think the Braves are going to
- 4:20be a lot better than people think this year.
- 4:23I do. And, and they're saying that the
- 4:26Braves are projected at 86.5. I think they're going to be
- 4:29better than that. I, I could see the Braves
- 4:31winning 90 games this year. Acuna is going to be healthy
- 4:35this year. If Acuna is going to be healthy
- 4:38for at least 140 games, they have the pitching staff and
- 4:41they've got Strider. This is a good pitching staff.
- 4:45They have got a lot of good young players.
- 4:46We're going to see a bunch of players being called up in the
- 4:49next couple of months. I, I really think the Braves are
- 4:52going to be a really, really good team this year.
- 4:54I, I think they're much better than they obviously experts are
- 4:58thinking. So if you're a betting man at
- 4:5986.5, bet them over 86.5. The Phillies 89.5.
- 5:06I think the Phillies are the best team in this division.
- 5:10Now, that doesn't mean the Mets aren't going to make the
- 5:12playoffs. I think the National League East
- 5:14has three teams that are going to make the playoffs.
- 5:16I think this is the best division in all of the National
- 5:19League. Philadelphia.
- 5:21They're good, they're loaded. Kyle Schwarber is going to have
- 5:25another good season. Hopefully he does better than,
- 5:27you know, the WBC and I think Bryce Harper is still a
- 5:32competent player. He can get you 30 home runs and
- 5:3590 RB is I think they have a great pitching staff.
- 5:38They have a very good ball pen for for a team over the years
- 5:41that have not had good ball pens.
- 5:43This is a good bullpen. And I think that you look at the
- 5:46Philadelphia Phillies with some of the additions that they made
- 5:49in the offseason, I think bring it back JT Romuto.
- 5:53I think that's an absolute plus. He's a big part of the pitching
- 5:56staff and behind the plate, you need a leader, a captain behind
- 6:00the plate to help this pitching staff go.
- 6:02I, I, I just, I like what Philadelphia has done in the
- 6:06offseason, bringing back all their all the guys they did lose
- 6:09Ranger Suarez and they Nick Castellanos, they.
- 6:13Were trying to trade him. Yeah, they didn't want him.
- 6:15He's an outfielder who was expensive.
- 6:17They needed to move him. I think that was, I think that
- 6:19was a good move just to get rid of him.
- 6:21I I I really, really, really like Philadelphia this year.
- 6:24The Mets. Freddy Peralta is going to give
- 6:27him an ace. They're going to have an ace and
- 6:31Nolan McLean, that takes a lot of pressure off of Nolan McLean.
- 6:34Nolan McLean doesn't have to be that dominant and he is.
- 6:37He's up for rookie of the year this year.
- 6:38So Nolan McLean could still win the National League Rookie of
- 6:42the Year and could be up for a Sai Young playing behind Freddie
- 6:45Paolo. You're not going to play against
- 6:46the best pitchers. You're going to play against the
- 6:48secondary, maybe the third best pitcher on a on a team's roster.
- 6:52So that gives the Mets an advantage.
- 6:54I don't like the Bo Beau Beauchet move.
- 6:56I, I question his injury. He's an injury prone player
- 6:59playing third base. Third baseman don't stay
- 7:02healthy, especially guys out of position.
- 7:04He was a shortstop his whole career.
- 7:06Now you're moving. I think I would have moved Boba
- 7:08shit out out in the outfield. And what are they going to do
- 7:10with Jorge Polanco? Because what I'm reading is
- 7:13Beatty's going to win the first base job.
- 7:15And Carson Bend is apparently making the opening day roster
- 7:17too, in the outfields. So where is Jorge Polanco going?
- 7:21You paid him, You gave him a two year extension.
- 7:23You're paying him pretty good money.
- 7:25Where does he fit? He's he automatic DH?
- 7:27Probably that's what you're paying an automatic DHI mean.
- 7:33He's not a great power. He had a lot of home runs last
- 7:35year. I think he had 20 something.
- 7:36Yeah, he. Has he has a couple years like
- 7:38that? He had like 2 years like that
- 7:40with the twins and then last year with Seattle had almost 30
- 7:43home. Runs.
- 7:44I mean, losing a guy like Pete Alonso, that's huge.
- 7:48Losing a power hitter of that magnitude, you're talking about
- 7:51a guy that averages between 35 and 40 home runs a season and
- 7:54giving you almost 100 RB is you lose that and you're expecting
- 8:00Beau Bouchette and Jorge Polanco to give you those kind of
- 8:03numbers. That's what you and they also
- 8:05add to Devin Williams, which you forgot on that one.
- 8:09And Devin Williams has a lot of questions to the to him as a
- 8:11pitcher, as a relief pitcher. Is he going to be your closer
- 8:15this year? You're paying him like a closer,
- 8:17but he's not Edwin Diaz. Edwin Diaz is one of the elite
- 8:20closers in all the baseball. He goes to the Dodgers.
- 8:23You're missing those pieces in your bullpen and you're going to
- 8:26depend on Tong. Maybe they call Tong up and move
- 8:29him as a long relief pitcher because he's probably not going
- 8:32to start the season on this pitching staff and you're losing
- 8:35Brandon Nimmo. That's a significant loss, a
- 8:39leader in the outfield, a guy that hits as your first batter,
- 8:42your number one guy. He gets on base at a clip.
- 8:46He does hit for somewhat power and he's a good defensive
- 8:49player. He's not a great defensive
- 8:50player, but he's better than anything they have out there.
- 8:54So they think the Mets are going to win 90.5 games.
- 8:58I think the Mets win 89 games this year.
- 9:00I don't think they break 90 games.
- 9:03I think Philadelphia wins over 90 games.
- 9:08Mets 89 and I project the Braves somewhere around 808889.
- 9:14I think the Mets and the Braves will have the same record.
- 9:16I think both all three teams are making the playoffs this year
- 9:20and don't be surprised if the Braves pull away in this in this
- 9:23conference, in this division. I I really do believe that the
- 9:27Braves are as good as any of these teams if they stay
- 9:29healthy. I don't know if I I'm going to
- 9:31bet on a Cunha and Strider, but if these two guys stay healthy,
- 9:34Strider is one of the best pitchers in baseball.
- 9:37Don't, don't bother on that. IL came out earlier today,
- 9:41Strider already down with an oblique.
- 9:44They don't know how. They didn't say the severity,
- 9:46but it's at least of probably the first month of the season.
- 9:49If it's not a great one, it'll be one month.
- 9:52He was one of the worst pitchers in baseball last year.
- 9:54I know this because he's my keeper on my fantasy team and I
- 9:58love the guy. His fastball's down a couple of
- 10:01ticks and it's not moving as as he used to before the injury and
- 10:05he doesn't have secondary pitches like that.
- 10:07He was a two pitch guy, fastball, slider.
- 10:10So he's going to take some time to try to reinvent himself.
- 10:13I don't know even if he's healthy if you you're going to
- 10:15get anything close to what we saw from him for like 2 plus
- 10:18years where he was probably if not the best, one of the two or
- 10:22three best pitchers in all baseball sucks and then they
- 10:26have all these other injuries there.
- 10:27Errol like they already they. Schwellenbach isn't coming back
- 10:31till halfway through the season. Waldrip is probably same thing.
- 10:34What a name. Smith.
- 10:35Sharpers out for the year? Probably they picked up Hassan
- 10:42Kim. They thought he.
- 10:44Was going to be good for them I think.
- 10:45Say that again. What's what's his name?
- 10:47Hassan Kim, right? Hassan Kim, not to be confused
- 10:51with Hey Song Kim on the Dodgers.
- 10:54He's out with a torn tendon in his right middle finger.
- 10:57So he's out for a couple of months.
- 10:58They're just banged up already. They always hasn't even started
- 11:01yet. It's crazy.
- 11:03But Ronald Lacuna looked very good in the WBC.
- 11:06He did. And.
- 11:06Yes, he did. I think that a healthy Ronald
- 11:09Lacuna in that lineup is going to give you a guy that's going
- 11:12to give you between 30 and 40 home runs.
- 11:15I don't know if he steals as many bases.
- 11:18I don't. I wouldn't put him at risk and I
- 11:19won't. I wouldn't put him out in the
- 11:20outfield every single day because you have to protect him.
- 11:24You have to keep him healthy. He always gets hurt.
- 11:26He tears his ace. He's torn his ACL twice out in
- 11:29the outfield. You got to keep him.
- 11:31I was going to say I worry about that because they he created a
- 11:34lot of runs for that that offense and because the offense
- 11:37was just historically bad for their standards last year.
- 11:40And Albees and Riley are the probably the two more.
- 11:43I'm concerned with them even more than Acuna getting back to
- 11:46that level. Albees was thought of as a top
- 11:48three second baseman in baseball for a while.
- 11:50I love albees. Fell off badly.
- 11:52Is there a bounce back candidate for him?
- 11:53Maybe got fits what you're. Saying, yeah, so I'm, I'm just
- 11:56like crazy with the fantasy baseball stuff.
- 11:58I've been all over those two guys for a long time as well.
- 12:01Was super into what the Braves did, building a franchise by
- 12:04giving these longer deals with, you know, like medium amounts of
- 12:07money, eating away some of those arbitration years so they can
- 12:10keep some of these star players into their primes in the in
- 12:13their late 20s, early 30s, which was one of the most genius
- 12:16things anyone did. Riley's still very good.
- 12:18His advanced numbers look good. Last year.
- 12:22He just, he just didn't have a good season.
- 12:24You know, I think he got banged up, but later on as well.
- 12:27That guy's that guy can hit. He's always going to be able to
- 12:29hit as long as his bad speed doesn't drop.
- 12:31I think he's got another bunch of years of being a really good
- 12:33player and he's he's solid defensively.
- 12:35Alby's on the other hand, Darrell, his advanced numbers
- 12:38don't look good at all and. You know how I.
- 12:41Am you? Know how I am with these
- 12:42advanced numbers? I'm not a.
- 12:43Big no, I know. But it's like one of those where
- 12:45it's like every year goes down, it's like one of those like slow
- 12:48downhill trajectory With him, it's just gotten worse every.
- 12:50Year like a Waldrip, right? Like a Waldrip.
- 12:53But. He's a knuckleball.
- 12:54Pitcher, and he's a. Velocity with him, but oh, he's
- 12:57already hurts. Yeah, that's that's not ideal.
- 12:59The Braves, what's always what's always good with them, though,
- 13:02is they they at least find a pitcher that usually could
- 13:04weather the storm. The pitching was not the problem
- 13:06for most of the year for the Braves.
- 13:07They were still top three, I believe, in ERA in the National
- 13:10League, even in the first half of the season.
- 13:11But their offense is just so bad.
- 13:13So they have a good process of pitching that'll work.
- 13:15And those other guys hitting. I think Sean Murphy's already
- 13:16hurt too. Like Murphy's tore his labrum
- 13:19and his leg. The a rod injury, that one he's
- 13:21not coming back from and playing catcher anytime soon.
- 13:24And Jerickson Profar was suspended for the season.
- 13:27He was supposed to be probably their two hitter be hitting
- 13:30behind Acuna, right? So that's not great.
- 13:33Where I was getting it is as a result of the process they've
- 13:35tried to do with getting these guys that all together their,
- 13:38their farm system has really fizzled out.
- 13:40And the upside, I don't know if it's there, if they have the
- 13:42injuries the same. Way I completely disagree with
- 13:44you guys. I think the Braves are a lot
- 13:46better than you think they are. This.
- 13:48I think they've had a lot of bad luck.
- 13:49I, I think we all like their franchise.
- 13:52I just think that they ran into like maybe more than a year of
- 13:57really bad injury luck. It might be a year and a half
- 14:00and I don't know if they're going to be good until the
- 14:01second-half of the season. It might be too far back at that
- 14:04point. And Chris Sell was one of the
- 14:05best pitchers in baseball last year and he's coming back on a
- 14:08one year deal. I think I, I, yes, we don't know
- 14:11what Strider's going to be. And when he comes back, we'll
- 14:13see how he fits in this rotation.
- 14:17They also have two aces in their farm system, one of them they're
- 14:20going to call up this year and another one they could put in
- 14:23their bullpen. I really think the Braves are a
- 14:25lot better than you guys make them out to be.
- 14:27I think they're an 89 win team, 88 win team as well as I think
- 14:31that's where the Mets are. I don't think the Mets break 90
- 14:33wins this. Year.
- 14:34No, I don't either. The Mets still have question
- 14:36marks with so they're pitching depth.
- 14:37They have a lot of these hybrid starter relievers, obviously
- 14:39bringing Luke Weaver. Question marks remain with
- 14:42somebody like Kodai Senga who had a great first two months and
- 14:44then fell off a Cliff valley. I think he's going to have a.
- 14:46Better. I think so too.
- 14:47I think he has the upside chance that'll make it work the other.
- 14:50He's the number four guy. Yeah, the other.
- 14:52The other part of that trade with the Freddy Peralta trade
- 14:54was Tobias Myers. Another guy could fill that role
- 14:56very well. He pitched very well with the
- 14:57Brewers in the first half of the year last year, kind of slipped
- 14:59the last two months. But then you got Clay Holmes,
- 15:02who's that same kind of role. And that's where I think that
- 15:05management's going to come in because we talked about it with
- 15:07a couple of our baseball guests. Carlos Mendoza, you would think
- 15:09is as on the hottest seat of any manager in baseball right now
- 15:12that got to keep his job. So if they start off slow and he
- 15:15doesn't get that pitching going, is he going to lose his job
- 15:17quickly? And.
- 15:18That's what I don't understand. David Stearns, who's there?
- 15:22He's the one who picked her name Mendoza, correct?
- 15:25He's the one who brought him in. And this guy is still not on the
- 15:28hot seat. He has made all these mistakes.
- 15:31He's made trades, he's brought, he's traded away talent, young
- 15:35talent. He brought in relief pitches at
- 15:37the trade deadline last year that are now playing for other
- 15:40teams and other organizations. You lost prospects then you I
- 15:43think this trade for Peralta is great.
- 15:45If they can resign them, are they going to resign them?
- 15:48That's the question. Does he want to be a met?
- 15:50That's and could you imagine losing Sprout Sprout and and and
- 15:54one of their better hitters in their farm system?
- 15:56I mean, think about it. These these are bad moves and,
- 16:00and you look at the Mets right now, they overpaid for Beau
- 16:02Bichette for third base. He's he's making more money than
- 16:07Aaron Judge is making right now. Think about that.
- 16:11You're paying a guy that's never played third base in his career
- 16:14and he's making more money than the best player in baseball.
- 16:18Yeah, You think about that, you have a lot of moving parts that
- 16:20are going to be leaving two guys out of position pretty much
- 16:23every line up. If they can get one of them
- 16:25comfortable, fine. And that's on Mendoza and that's
- 16:27on his staff to be able to make that kind of thing work to make
- 16:29at least somebody comfortable. Now I would try to 3rd, 1st
- 16:32because Simeon is very good at 2nd.
- 16:33So you don't want to move have to move him if.
- 16:35You. He's an old man, Speedy.
- 16:36You treated him for Brandon Nimmo, who is 30 years old.
- 16:40You took a guy. Yes, he's a Gold Glove winner.
- 16:43He's 3637 years old. How many years does he have
- 16:46left? And you're going to bet on this?
- 16:48What happens? Let's say the Mets make the
- 16:51playoffs this year. Or chokes.
- 16:53What does the Stearns keep his job during the strike?
- 16:56Oh God, no, really. Because Cohen's like, has a love
- 16:59fest for him, just like somebody named James Dolan has for Chris
- 17:02Drury. I would hope he's not that
- 17:04irrational. There's some kind of love fest
- 17:06for this guy, David Stearns. Oh, he's like a son to me.
- 17:08Yeah, Yeah. He's also ruining your
- 17:10organization. Yeah.
- 17:11If you overpaid for Juan Soto. And Juan Soto was the only one
- 17:15hitting at the tail end of the season.
- 17:16Lindor fell off, Everybody fell off.
- 17:19And, and this team was was one of the best National League
- 17:22teams coming into the second, second-half and then completely
- 17:24fell flat on their face like they always do.
- 17:26Yeah, and there's a lot of prospects that are have a lot of
- 17:29roles that are unknown, too. And the Mets do have a good farm
- 17:31system. It's just a matter of putting
- 17:32them in the right places. Ronnie Mauricio is another one
- 17:34that's going to come back that seems position less.
- 17:36Mark Vientos is going to be on the bench most of the year, I
- 17:38would imagine, unless guys get hurt.
- 17:40And baby, we talked about he's going to play the corner
- 17:42outfield spot. He plays for his bait.
- 17:43His batch should be in the lineup.
- 17:45And then you got somebody like Louise Robert, who's an injury
- 17:47question as well. Good, good player a couple years
- 17:49ago, but he hasn't hit in a while either.
- 17:51The Phillies are the most stable.
- 17:52I agree with you when the division they didn't do much in
- 17:54the offseason besides keep their own players and like the Braves
- 17:57don't have a lot of prospect upside, but they were I was
- 18:00worried they were to lose pretty much everyone.
- 18:01I think they were the second biggest team against the cap
- 18:03after the Dodgers at the start of the offseason.
- 18:05They were able to keep, not that real much was the same player,
- 18:07but they will keep him in Schwarber and still have that
- 18:10kind of upside. And well, while they lost,
- 18:13obviously Suarez Wheeler is expected to come back sooner
- 18:15than rather than later, which is a big boost that I didn't think
- 18:18they would have for the Phillies.
- 18:19So yeah, I think the Phillies kind of like 90 wins.
- 18:21I think the Mets kind of 88, The Braves kind of middle like 8485
- 18:24something. Like that, All right, let's go
- 18:25to the American League East and a lot of people have the Yankees
- 18:29winning the East and probably the best team in the American
- 18:33League. And I'm not saying this because
- 18:35I'm a Yankee fan. I think the Yankees have a
- 18:38roster that can win now, win a championship.
- 18:41I don't know. We have to see if they can hit.
- 18:44And we also have to see if Brian Cashman is going to make moves
- 18:47at the trade deadline to juice up this lineup, which he
- 18:51probably will. And I don't think Jazz Jism is
- 18:54going to be a part of this organization at the trade
- 18:57deadline. I think they're going to move
- 18:58them, especially if he starts the season hot.
- 19:00And I expect him to. Bellinger is a big piece to this
- 19:04roster. He is a big piece.
- 19:07Now my question is eventually this year, do they move
- 19:11Bellinger full time to first base?
- 19:14That's what I want to know because if Spencer Jones comes
- 19:16up here, which I believe he will at some point this year, he's
- 19:20proven himself on this roster during spring training that he
- 19:24is quite capable of being a hitter in baseball.
- 19:27Dominguez might fall out with this team.
- 19:31And as far as this line up is concerned, Dominguez is a piece
- 19:35that the Yankees can move at the trade deadline.
- 19:39And do you trade Jazz, Jism or Chism, whatever you want to call
- 19:43him? And do you trade a guy like
- 19:46Dominguez who's a switch hitter or they call him the Martian?
- 19:49Do you trade him for another big bat in this lineup, which quite,
- 19:52quite possibly could happen? And here's another thing, they
- 19:56gave Grissom A2 year extension. That is also a a questionable
- 20:02move. Dwight was a two year extension.
- 20:03Yeah, or or no, he took the qualifying.
- 20:05Oh, he took the qualifying. One year, 22 million. 22
- 20:08million, I think they overpaid for Grissom because to me if
- 20:11Spencer Jones comes up and the way they're they're outfield is
- 20:16set up and if Bellinger cause Goldschmidt still they signed
- 20:20Goldschmidt. So Goldschmidt as long as he
- 20:22stays healthy he could be the first baseman all season long.
- 20:26What are they going to do with Grissom?
- 20:29Because unless Aaron Judge is going to be ADH here and there,
- 20:32and but they have, they have Carlos Grant, they have Carlos
- 20:37Giancarlo Stanton, who is, is a guy that's going to get an
- 20:40opportunity to get his, his whips at it.
- 20:42And I and John Carlos Stanton has a lot to prove this year
- 20:44because a lot of people think he's done.
- 20:46He can't stay healthy. So I, there's a lot of questions
- 20:50with the Yankees, but here's the reason why I don't think there's
- 20:53any question to the Yankees. This pitching staff is elite.
- 20:58When this pitching staff is at full strength by June, at the
- 21:02end of June with Garrett, Cole, Max Freed, Schmidt, Schlittler,
- 21:09Rodon and heal, when they have these guys and even Adam Warren,
- 21:16this this rotation is the best rotation you can argue in
- 21:20baseball and that's how good this rotation is going to be.
- 21:24Schlittler could be the number 2 before Cole comes back because
- 21:28he could be the number one. He's pitching so well and they
- 21:30have this kid. Rodriguez, though, a lot of
- 21:32people believe the Yankees are going to call up at sometime
- 21:35this year, either in the bullpen or part of this rotation.
- 21:38It's just another arm they're going to add to that rotation
- 21:40that they got from the Red Sox in a trade.
- 21:43That's why I think the Yankees now Weathers was a great move by
- 21:47Brian Cashman because what they're going to do with
- 21:50Weathers is they're going to stick them in the bullpen.
- 21:52He could become their 8th in a guy or their long relief or he
- 21:55could even be their closer. So there's a lot to to like
- 22:00about the Yankees and what they did even or what it wasn't like
- 22:03a slam dunk. It wasn't like rose petals and
- 22:07and and marriage for the Yankees or what they did in the
- 22:10offseason and Yankee fans were not excited about what they did.
- 22:13The Yankees did more than enough by Anning Bellinger and giving
- 22:16him that extension and not over, over, you know, exaggerating
- 22:20with the the deal that he was looking to get him and his
- 22:23stupid Mr. Boras, his stupid agent who likes to, you know,
- 22:27RIP people off. But as far as the American
- 22:30League East, it's pretty simple. The Orioles are not winning 85
- 22:33games. There is no way this team is
- 22:35winning 85 games. It's a crazy number.
- 22:38I can't believe the number was 85.
- 22:40I would believe 75 if you believe.
- 22:42It you, if you're a betting man and you want to make some money,
- 22:45I bet this. There's no way this team is
- 22:47winning 85 games. There's no way.
- 22:49Oreos, No, I would bet for the Oreos, Yeah, that that's a good
- 22:52bet. They're they're not winning 85,
- 22:54they're not winning 80 games. This is going to be.
- 22:56Red Sox? No, that's another story.
- 22:58Now here's the thing. I don't know if you're a Red Sox
- 23:01fan, but I'll tell you about their roster, what I like about
- 23:05their roster. They they Duran is a good
- 23:08player. Roman Anthony is a great player.
- 23:10They've got pieces. They added Ranger Suarez.
- 23:13Their their rotation, I mean, is pretty, pretty good man.
- 23:16I, I, they added some, you know, bats to this line up and they
- 23:20added some pitching to this line up.
- 23:22This is this is going to be a good team this year. 87 games.
- 23:27I think they win 88 games this year.
- 23:29I think they win 8889 games this year.
- 23:31I think they're a lot better. I'd I would go over that number.
- 23:34The Blue Jays, I think they win no more than 88 games, no more
- 23:40than 88 games. I don't care what they've added
- 23:42in the offseason. They added some bats to this
- 23:44line up and and they've added a pitcher who Dylan sees, I don't
- 23:49bet. On Dylan sees for anything, he's
- 23:50got weird splits. And here's another thing, he's
- 23:52coming into the American League East, the American League East.
- 23:56You're playing against top end power line UPS.
- 24:01I wouldn't bet on Dylan sees pitching as well as well as he
- 24:04was pitching for San Diego the last year.
- 24:06I as a matter of fact, I think Dylan sees as a has an off year
- 24:10and I think this pitching staff which looked really, really good
- 24:13throughout the second-half of the season in the playoffs, I
- 24:16think they're not as good this year as they were last year.
- 24:19Yeah. It's.
- 24:20One of those Staffs that has a lot of the same types of
- 24:22pitchers, a lot of veteran pitchers that are high strikeout
- 24:24guys and throughout their career.
- 24:26You look at Goss men, you look at Jose Marios and obviously
- 24:29Serz are bringing him back. It's always been like that.
- 24:31But they've also been susceptible to the home rumble
- 24:33and Cease is another prime example of that.
- 24:35And I worry about that kind of thing too.
- 24:36For a guy giving him a giving him a seven-year deal.
- 24:38It's also had injury problems and his 30.
- 24:40So I think the the process that the Blue Jays had is getting
- 24:44enough depth to withstand the injuries, which I think is good.
- 24:47But I do question a lot of the things with their pitching staff
- 24:49as well. Their bullpen was fine.
- 24:51It's usually a streaky kind of thing year to year.
- 24:53We'll see what they're line up to.
- 24:54They had a lot of rotational guys.
- 24:55Can they get the same kind of creativity going with them with
- 24:58that level of depth? And I will say this, there are
- 25:01not many great teams in the American League.
- 25:04There really isn't there there. There could be an up and down
- 25:06season. And that's why I think the
- 25:08Yankees knew that they were going to be in the driver's seat
- 25:10getting their call back. Because even with not as many
- 25:15additions to this lineup, their pitching staff is going to keep
- 25:18the games close. And the Yankees are not going to
- 25:20have to score six or seven runs like they used to.
- 25:23The Yankees are just going to have to score four to five runs
- 25:27and and the Yankees are going to win a lot of games.
- 25:30Now, I don't know if they're going to win scoring four or
- 25:32five runs, you know, 90 games. They're going to have to put up
- 25:36more runs in certain games. But the Yankees have the power.
- 25:39I think Spencer Jones is going to be very, very important.
- 25:43His development this year, what we saw in spring training and
- 25:46calling him up and letting Brian Cashman dead against what he
- 25:51said. And I, I'll tell you this, Brian
- 25:52Cashman saying what he said just pissed off Spencer Jones.
- 25:56And I think Spencer Jones is proving everybody wrong about
- 25:59what kind of. Talent.
- 26:00You know what he did today? What did he do?
- 26:022 for two. Two home runs, three RB is.
- 26:05One of them was off of Phil Matan, one of their late innings
- 26:10Mets legend, one of the better late inning relievers you.
- 26:14Know what I said about him, just so everybody knows my take, all
- 26:19everybody knows about my take about Spencer Johns.
- 26:22I'm going to tell you guys, I told you so I'm going to you
- 26:25guys can kiss my feet. All you Yankee fans, I told you
- 26:30guys that this guy is going to be a 3540 home run hitter.
- 26:34He's going to and I'm going to tell you this even and I'm going
- 26:37to throw even another curveball. This guy could win Rookie of the
- 26:40year in the American League this year.
- 26:42That's what I think he's going to be.
- 26:43And he's going to show you guys that when he gets on base, he's
- 26:46going to steal bases. He's faster than Aaron Judge.
- 26:48He has the ability to run. He's got a tremendous athletic
- 26:52ability. He's A5 tool player.
- 26:54His outfield skills, he can play multiple positions in the
- 26:57outfield. And some people believe he's
- 26:59just as athletic to play first base, too.
- 27:03So he might be the future 1st baseman for the New York
- 27:06Yankees. He very much could be.
- 27:08Yeah. So And I would say they have
- 27:09enough. Organizational depth, I think to
- 27:11withstand a lot of the things. They got a good farm system.
- 27:14I was going to say they have, they have a farm system that
- 27:16shot up in the rankings from last year.
- 27:17They were a lot of people were worried about some of their
- 27:19prospect development issues, but again, they still got to finish
- 27:22the process in developing. Habra Lombard he he he could be
- 27:25called up this. Year, I was going to say, if
- 27:26Chisholm is traded like you think it could happen, Yeah,
- 27:28that probably is going to happen.
- 27:30They had the solution though, and then they screwed it up and
- 27:33now that solution is playing third base for the Red Sox.
- 27:36His name is Caleb Durbin and they gave him to Milwaukee for
- 27:39Devin Williams. And how much Devin Williams
- 27:42sucked. Durbin left.
- 27:44It was then sent in a trade over to, yes, of course, the frickin
- 27:49Red Sox. And now I have to deal with him.
- 27:51He should have been. No, we got.
- 27:53We got should. Have been our middle infielder.
- 27:55Stop. And we got and we got Elma
- 27:57Rodriguez. I'm not worried about that.
- 27:58We got that from the Red Sox. So one crossed over a guy that
- 28:02throws 103 mph. I think I'd go with the pitcher
- 28:05instead of the hitter. That's fine.
- 28:07And like there's other young pitchers, LaGrange look good
- 28:10until today. He got lit up today, but they
- 28:13have a lot of really good young arms.
- 28:14I just, I just don't really like the whole, oh, we don't need to
- 28:18add anybody. We're good.
- 28:20That's that was. Cashman's approach?
- 28:22This offseason, and it's unsettling.
- 28:24Fish here. Here's why it's not unsettling
- 28:26if you're a Yankee fan, you want to see the young players come up
- 28:29and you want to see the Spencer Jones or the Dominguez's develop
- 28:33or the Lombard right. Am I spelling it Lombard coming
- 28:37up and and and being yeah the the future shortstop or moving
- 28:40Volpe 8 a second because I'm going to tell you guys this
- 28:42right now. Volpe is going to have a better
- 28:43season this year. I'm telling you right now, Volpe
- 28:46will be better this year. I don't know if he hits more
- 28:48than two 5260, but if you can get that from your shortstop and
- 28:51he can give you 20 home runs like he did last year and give
- 28:54you about 60-70 RB is you're taking it.
- 28:57And he's he's a pretty good for you know, good pretty good
- 29:00shortstop per second baseman. If Lombard comes gets called up
- 29:03if Chisholm is gone. I I'm telling you guys right
- 29:05now, you do not want to see the Yankees bring in veteran guys
- 29:10and lose their thoughts to their their young talent in their farm
- 29:14system. And that's the problem.
- 29:16That was the problem with Brian Cashman for years.
- 29:18He would trade away pieces and some of them didn't develop.
- 29:21As a matter of fact, the majority of them didn't develop.
- 29:25Whitlock did he? He developed.
- 29:28He developed out of all the guys that they traded in that ace
- 29:30trade and which was an absolute debacle.
- 29:33And now he's a Red Sock. But Whitlock developed in a very
- 29:36good reliever. So he didn't look good at the
- 29:38WBC, but you know, enough said on that.
- 29:41But the fact here is, if you're a Yankee fan, you want Brian
- 29:45Cashman to believe that the talent is there in his farm
- 29:48system. Because if those guys are going
- 29:51to be called up, you have more control.
- 29:53You can take the money that you would invest into a veteran
- 29:57superstar player and then go after a young player that
- 30:00becomes available in the next one or two years and put the
- 30:03money into him where you have them for eight or nine years at
- 30:06a high level. I'm not worried about the
- 30:08Yankees and the Yankees. Yankees.
- 30:10My question to the Yankees is what do they do with Jazz
- 30:13Chisholm? That's what I want to know, what
- 30:14they're going to do. Are they going to keep them?
- 30:17Are they going to pay them? Are they going to move them at
- 30:19the trade deadline and get as much as you possibly can for
- 30:22them? Maybe put them in a trade with
- 30:24somebody else and get a star young player to be either your
- 30:27future shortstop, your second baseman, or maybe 1/3 baseman,
- 30:32which the Yankees have lacked ever since Alex Rodriguez.
- 30:36Yeah, they they definitely have the assets I think to make a big
- 30:38bat type of trade if they know they're not going to keep
- 30:40judges. And you're right, those contract
- 30:41demands are absolutely ridiculous.
- 30:43Him wanting 35 million a year on A7 year deal for he's never
- 30:46getting 20. Got to be 20. 9 Nobody's paying
- 30:47him. Yeah, those are going to be
- 30:49ridiculous. You could definitely could see
- 30:50him Dominguez maybe another pitching prospect in a big move
- 30:53for one of those All Star caliber.
- 30:54Remember Torres? Remember Torres?
- 30:56Torres, I. Remember you were raving about
- 30:57him when he came up. He was good and he was very good
- 31:00playoff player Yankees. And then he became available and
- 31:03he was a free agent and he was still fairly young, 26 years old
- 31:07and he thought he was going to get a big deal from the Yankees
- 31:10and the Yankees said go find another deal and where did he
- 31:12go? He signed a one year deal to
- 31:16Detroit and now I think he's still with Detroit.
- 31:18He extended himself or no, Detroit didn't extend him.
- 31:21They gave him. No, I brought him back.
- 31:22Yeah, but they didn't give him a deal.
- 31:23They gave him something else like a pay in deal, like a play
- 31:27in deal this year that he has to put up or shut up or they're not
- 31:30going to give him an extension. He got the qualifying.
- 31:34The qualifying, that's what it was, which is.
- 31:36He's got one more year. He's 28.
- 31:40That allows him to avoid the free agency market and probably
- 31:43make more money than he would have made one year. 22 point
- 31:45something million. Very.
- 31:46It's basically the Trent Grisham deal, which is interesting you
- 31:49mentioned that because I would imagine Trent Grisham has to be
- 31:53traded because he's blocking Spencer Jones and Jason
- 31:57Dominguez. So like he has to be traded and
- 32:01probably one of those guys is going to be traded as well.
- 32:04I agree with you. I, I really hope Dominguez is
- 32:07the one that gets traded, not Spencer Jones.
- 32:09I think you get more for Dominguez because he's younger
- 32:11and I think people are selling Jones short right now.
- 32:14There's his age and the strikeout rate.
- 32:16They're not selling, but I'm telling you, they're not
- 32:19selling. Spencer Jones.
- 32:20You could book. It so so then what do they do?
- 32:23Because so you say Jazz is expiring this year.
- 32:25It's a one year deal for him. He's probably not coming back.
- 32:28He's going to want a lot, but you move him.
- 32:30Trent Grisham's probably not a guy you move in that deal
- 32:32probably because he's a big contract.
- 32:34You're probably going to try to get a reliever for him or
- 32:36something in a separate thing if you need one.
- 32:39But you're absolutely right. If you got you got Dominguez
- 32:43sitting there and you got Jazz Chisholm, that should get you a
- 32:46huge return. It should get you a huge return.
- 32:50And where do we put that return? If Volpe can't play short, it
- 32:54has to be a shortstop. And if you don't trust, Lumbar's
- 32:58going to be a. 100% they trust, they trust.
- 33:00But what if they want lumbar to be second and they can get like
- 33:03an elite, elite guy who's also really good defensively to play
- 33:06short? I don't know who would be.
- 33:08I'm just saying in general you'd be OK with that because now you
- 33:11have great up the middle defense.
- 33:12So you don't care if you have to move a shortstop to second.
- 33:15Now you're great in the middle of the defense.
- 33:17Or do you move a guy or you just try to get a third base bat
- 33:20because there's more? I think that's the way they go.
- 33:22And I'm going to tell you this, Manny Machado could become
- 33:25available this year. I think San Diego is going to
- 33:28try to move pieces. They they've invested too much
- 33:30money into guys like Tatis. And, and I don't, I don't know
- 33:34if anybody's going to be interested in bringing Tatis in,
- 33:36even with the steroid situation that he's had in the past.
- 33:40Manny Machado has another I think 4 years left on his
- 33:43contract. The Yankees are clearing
- 33:46contracts with Giancarlo Stanton in the next year.
- 33:48They can buy him out at the end of the year.
- 33:50They can take Manny Machado, move Manny Machado the third
- 33:53base. He always wanted to be Yankee,
- 33:54grew up a Yankee fan and I think that would solidify their third
- 33:57base position, which they haven't really had since Alex
- 34:01Rodriguez. Let's be honest, They they've
- 34:03tried to add players all these years.
- 34:06Cabrera's played there. It just hasn't worked and I
- 34:09think. That is that enough for Machado?
- 34:11No. They're going to move all the.
- 34:12Guys Jason, Jason Dominguez, Jazz, Chisholm, what else?
- 34:18Would you need to get and a prospect and a prospect?
- 34:20And maybe a pitching prospect. A prospect, yeah.
- 34:23You're not going to have to give up much because you have to take
- 34:25his contract on. So I, I think I could see Manny
- 34:29Machado being a name that could be talked about, especially if
- 34:32San Diego starts slow this year. And, and I think they could
- 34:36because, because the division is so good and you look at I think
- 34:41the Diamondbacks are going to be a lot better than people think
- 34:43they're going to be. I.
- 34:44Say that's been unlucky with injury.
- 34:45I love the Diamondback station. I wouldn't even be surprised if
- 34:48they're just as good as the Dodgers this year, that's how.
- 34:51I got a Diamondbacks name for you to remember.
- 34:54He's a pitcher. Ryan Nelson.
- 34:56Yes, I've been hearing. Full Nelson A.
- 34:57Lot of people tell Full Nelson he's going to go to the Full
- 35:00Nelson this year. He's going to be one of the
- 35:01better pitchers. I like, I like.
- 35:03What is it? Wet Trip?
- 35:04What is his name? I like that name.
- 35:06Waldrip. Waldrip.
- 35:07That's it. Waldrip I like.
- 35:08Waldrip I'm going to get. I'm going to get his jersey.
- 35:11I'm going to get Waldrip. That's.
- 35:15It fish. What did Java say?
- 35:16He's like the last like half knuckleballer in the league.
- 35:19Waldrip. Yeah.
- 35:20Something like that, I don't remember.
- 35:23All of those Braves pitchers are heard, but I don't know, look,
- 35:26the Yankees, they have a Waldrip make and they without making a
- 35:30move, they might be good enough, but they have the assets to make
- 35:34the move, so they should win. And I do agree, I don't think
- 35:36Toronto did enough. A lot of people like Okamoto.
- 35:39I know you love his name. Okamoto.
- 35:43Okamoto, they say he's supposed to be pretty good.
- 35:44He's probably he's supposed to be the best of the Japanese guys
- 35:47that came over this year. So, and I believe in the Easter
- 35:49Bunny. Let's go.
- 35:50All right, ladies and gentlemen, a final segment of the night is
- 35:53what's that smell? Hold up, what is that smell?
- 35:57What's right smell? Wow, you don't see that
- 36:05everyday. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 36:07it's pretty simple how you play this game.
- 36:09It it's a game. Everything on the show could be
- 36:12a game. And if you want it to stick to
- 36:13the wall, well, you better make it stick.
- 36:15So it's very simple. We're going to tell you a story
- 36:18that's happened in the world of sports or something that is
- 36:22particular and we're going to tell you what it smells like.
- 36:25So tonight we're going to go with Tommy Speedy Fish.
- 36:32Q me. Here we go, all.
- 36:36Right, ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to be starting off going
- 36:39to the. Ladies and gentlemen.
- 36:41Austra Men's. Basketball, not just.
- 36:43Men's basketball Errol mentioned a little bit earlier, but.
- 36:46Smell my ass. You know, I'm going to keep it
- 36:48nice and sweet only for the fact that although this team did of
- 36:51course blow. So I started.
- 36:53Tumbling once. This team was up 12 points,
- 36:55played really well in the first half, but also ultimately lost
- 36:5820 points. I got to hand it to them, this
- 37:00team did absolutely everything that they needed to do.
- 37:03Looking at this team before the season even started, there was a
- 37:06lot of questions. Even last season, all around
- 37:08campus, all anybody would talk about was.
- 37:10Is this the last? Time that Speedy Claxton is
- 37:12going to be on the team. Or is it a better move to keep
- 37:14Speedy Claxton with them and Speedy Claxton sitting in on
- 37:18their practices, having the chance to talk to some of these
- 37:21students, knowing how hard they work, knowing how some of them
- 37:23transfer just to get the opportunity to play under Speedy
- 37:26Claxton. You have Preston Ed meet a Long
- 37:29Island native who stayed in Long Island as long as he can just so
- 37:32that he could play over there in Hofstra for Mr. Speedy Claxton.
- 37:37I got to say I got to hand it to them.
- 37:39I got to I got to tip my hat off to them.
- 37:41Everything they deserve everything that they get this
- 37:43season, this season, they did everything that they needed to
- 37:46and it really paid off. They won the CIA championship
- 37:50and really the atmosphere and everything around them couldn't
- 37:53have been any more better. So although that, like I said,
- 37:56the alternative didn't end up happening the way we wanted it
- 37:58to, at least the first run when would have been happening first
- 38:01round exit. Look, all you could say is that
- 38:03so proud of this team. Hats off.
- 38:05And it smells like the flowers that Speedy Claxton and the rest
- 38:08of this team truly deserve. A neutral on a Bush and don't
- 38:11want to think about it. Now I do not want to think about
- 38:13it. I don't know.
- 38:14About a Bush. I don't know how that would.
- 38:15Smell. I don't know.
- 38:16Yeah. I'm going to say Speedies, He
- 38:20hasn't trimmed that Bush in his, you know his his time being on
- 38:23this earth, right, Speedy? No, I'm not.
- 38:28You know, maybe we quit, you know, Quentin, maybe we need to
- 38:31take him to a Brazilian waxing. What do you think?
- 38:36No good answer, no man let you do my buzz speedy like that.
- 38:42Yeah. Are you going to buzz him then?
- 38:45No. Might need a machete.
- 38:49Another college basketball coach that maybe is in more hot water
- 38:52than Speedy Claxon. He actually did a good job with
- 38:55not a lot of money. Someone who didn't do a good job
- 38:57with a lot of money. That was Mark Pope with
- 38:59Kentucky, and guess what he decides to say after they lose
- 39:03badly to Iowa State? Oh, at least my tenure at
- 39:06Kentucky so far has been better. Than.
- 39:08The John Calipari era. OK, yeah, maybe technically,
- 39:12literally, that could be true. They did lose the Saint Peters.
- 39:14I had them winning it all that year 15.
- 39:16They lost 15. You can see they missed the
- 39:18tournament a year after COVID. Well, let's see how he's done
- 39:21since Arkansas been there. You guys went to the same round
- 39:24as Arkansas last year as a three seed while they were a 10 seed.
- 39:28And now this year you're eliminated first while Arkansas
- 39:30has headed to the Sweet 16. And also you have a $22 million
- 39:36NIL budget for your basketball team this year, which is the
- 39:38highest in college basketball this year.
- 39:41And you could only get to the second round and didn't have a
- 39:42great record. And now you're just going to
- 39:44throw shade at Calipari's past for how you got a job.
- 39:47Great job, Mark Pope. So what does it smell like?
- 39:49It smells like the decay of 22,000,000 dead priests playing
- 39:54in playing basketball. Can't wait.
- 39:58Dead priests playing basketball. Had to do a Pope.
- 40:00Reference. Oh, the Pope.
- 40:04Reference. I guess we're staying with a lot
- 40:08of college basketball coaches tonight, Errol.
- 40:10Yeah, I think we are. I'm going to Villanova because
- 40:14we've already talked about him once this basketball season.
- 40:17I believe he was on the show before I joined Mr. Kevin
- 40:20Willard, head coach of Will. And no, he wasn't.
- 40:23No, he's mentioned he was something about him.
- 40:26But regardless, he made some viral comments in the middle of
- 40:31the Wildcats loss to Utah State on Friday in the first round.
- 40:37I don't so like when I went to become a teacher, the first
- 40:42thing that you have to sit through all these courses that
- 40:45tell you how you're supposed to act as a teacher, and one person
- 40:48actually came in and said never be sarcastic to kids.
- 40:52Never. It's the worst thing.
- 40:54Well, apparently that's how they've been teaching people and
- 40:57they've grown up not to understand sarcasm.
- 40:59Kevin Willard apparently at halftime told TNT's Sports
- 41:04Lauren Shahati, I'm going to fire my staff.
- 41:07Yeah, I am, because we've given up eight points on underneath,
- 41:09out of bounds defense. The only thing I'm going to do
- 41:12is fire them and get a new staff.
- 41:14I was. I'm sorry.
- 41:14That was early in the first half.
- 41:16After the game, he doubled down on the exact comments.
- 41:20Yeah, I'm probably going to have to make some changes to my staff
- 41:22just because of how bad we were. The next reporter asked him.
- 41:26You just mentioned making stuffed changes to your staff.
- 41:29He goes, It's a joke. Well, that's what I wanted to
- 41:32ask you about. You gave an interview during the
- 41:34game. It went viral.
- 41:35You've been pretty. You've been criticized heavily
- 41:38online, he said. I don't care.
- 41:40Welcome to my life. Breaking news, I'm putting you
- 41:44on a leash now. What does that smell like?
- 41:48It smells great. It's I need Britney also.
- 41:50You wouldn't believe how good this smells.
- 41:53It's the one of the greatest smells of all time.
- 41:55Speedy. 'S mom.
- 41:57It's the smell of sarcasm. They call me the ladies man and
- 42:01Mr. Still your girl. Yeah, I'm just stay in my
- 42:04warehouse. Joe Mozzola for coach of the
- 42:07Year this year. He's done it.
- 42:10I just had one coaching a month. I want to make sure I have add
- 42:14that he's coaching the system. You guys know how much I love
- 42:17systems. I don't do the stars, I do the
- 42:19systems. And so he's been a tremendous
- 42:24coach this year in regards to getting the winds, getting guys
- 42:27to play into the system and overall being I think we're at
- 42:31second or third in the East. What is wheat?
- 42:34Who is wheat? 2000 and 2627 NBA championship
- 42:41roses really smell like. Crap.
- 42:47Would you put the Rose on your cake?
- 42:51Roses. Put the honey.
- 42:53First of all, roses smell like crap.
- 42:55OK, so everybody's smell the roses.
- 42:57Smell the roses. It's garbage.
- 43:00I'd rather smell a Daisy than a rose.
- 43:02And it smells like COO COO cooch.
- 43:08That's the difference in carpets.
- 43:09It. Was horny tonight.
- 43:12Get out of. Here only tonight.
- 43:16Breaking news. I farted.
- 43:18Breaking news all. Right, my final.
- 43:21What's that smell goes to Danny Hurley?
- 43:24Wait until you love this story. Well, it is a story.
- 43:28Tom Izzo has turned down multiple opportunities in
- 43:31coaching jobs in the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the
- 43:34Atlanta Hawks. When Los Angeles were willing to
- 43:37pay Uconn's coach Dan Hurley a six year, $70 million contract
- 43:42in 2024, Hurley asked Izzo for advice and Izzo told him.
- 43:48I told him seriously, look at it because I could see where
- 43:51college basketball was going, Izzo told the Associate Press on
- 43:55Monday. But I said I would hate to lose
- 43:58him because I think he's all what's right in college
- 44:01basketball right now. So think about it, guys.
- 44:07Tom Izzo is the reason why. Yes, Danny Hurley didn't take
- 44:12that job. It was Tom Izzo that was the one
- 44:15that spread his wings, spread his petals, as our friend Q
- 44:21would say, you know, smell the roses.
- 44:23As you would say I I wouldn't smell the roses, I'd be smelling
- 44:26diarrhea. But nevertheless, this story
- 44:30only tells me one thing, that Tom Izzo was jealous that Danny
- 44:36Hurley was being offered a six year, 70 million dollar, $70
- 44:41million contract from the Los Angeles Lakers and he wanted the
- 44:45job, so he told Danny not to take it.
- 44:50That's what I would think. I, I don't know, but it is a
- 44:53pretty interesting story. I'm interested to hear what
- 44:56Danny Hurley thought about that take after he talked to the
- 45:01Associate Press. But nevertheless, what does it
- 45:05smell like? It smells like the Celtics are
- 45:08going to lose in the second round against the Knicks.
- 45:11That's what it smells. Like must be stuffy, must be
- 45:13stopped. Up.
- 45:13Well, you know, I'm, I am stuffy.
- 45:16Stuffy in many different ways. That's, well, you know, it's,
- 45:20it's somewhere in the other side of my rear end, if you know what
- 45:23I mean. There it is.
- 45:25What's that difference? Yeah, that's true.
- 45:26What is the difference, Speedy? That kind of looks good.
- 45:29You actually look good in that picture, Speedy.
- 45:31And why am I always the one singing Q is DJ Q?
- 45:36Says that they never get me right with facial features.
- 45:40I told it to make. I told it to make.
- 45:43Q Doctor Dre, you, Eminem and Speedy Exhibit from the What's
- 45:48the Difference music video. Speedy doesn't look like
- 45:50Exhibit, but it's a good try here.
- 45:54What's the difference between? Me and.
- 45:56You. I'm going to smack Speedy right
- 45:58in the back of the head. Right, Speedy.
- 46:00Speedy, give us a good one tonight.
- 46:02Speedy, give me a favor, Do me a favor.
- 46:04Do me a favor. Give us a Billy Joel song before
- 46:06we go. Bottle of red, bottle of wine.
- 46:13Well, the kind of mood you're in tonight.
- 46:18Anything you want in an Italian restaurant.
- 46:31I love. It way to end the night.
- 46:33That was. Good, that was good way to end
- 46:40the night. Yeah, he definitely knows how to
- 46:41hit a note, that's for sure. Imagine if a girl gets him in
- 46:44the right place, if you know what I mean.

- 47:30and Quinton Coppols and Q is going to add a different type of
- 47:33personality to the show and obviously arguing and debating
- 47:37and pissing me off, which he's done quite a few times, Yeah.
- 47:40He's taken on the Mikey C roll very well so far.
- 47:42You know, you know somebody needs.
- 47:46Do you want to jerk me off? Or something of that magnitude.
- 47:49Hopefully they stay away from that.
- 47:50Or a lot of hot ladies. Well, they're somebody that
- 47:53likes. Give me that chicken Curry.
- 47:55Chicken Curry. Anyways, that's it for our show,
- 47:57so thank you to all the fans. Who do we have on?
- 47:59Thursdays. All right, returning to the show
- 48:00you wanted to come back on during March Madness.
- 48:02I tried to get him on last week. He couldn't do it, but our
- 48:04friend Dan Purcell will be back on president of Scout Central
- 48:06and a former Pelicans executive. He'll be coming on at 8:30.
- 48:09This guy knows everything about the talent that's coming out of
- 48:14this year's draft class. As a matter of fact, four years
- 48:16ago he came on the show and he told us about this draft class
- 48:19and he told us watch out for 2026 and 2027 on the talent
- 48:25that's coming out. And he said 2026 is the best
- 48:28class since LeBron James's class.
- 48:31So. And I would love to hear his
- 48:33take on Cam Boozer, Peterson and the Beza and where he thinks
- 48:38these guys are going to fall and who does he think is going to be
- 48:42the better player in the NBA. So very interesting.
- 48:47It'll be fun to get into that conversation with him on
- 48:50Thursday. Well, we've got three days
- 48:53before Thursday, or actually 2, and we got a lot of news, ladies
- 48:58and gentlemen, and a lot more to get into.
- 49:00And we have the Sweet 16 starting Thursday.
- 49:02So eventually everybody's going to see my number and my name on
- 49:06top of the board because Quinton Coppols is going to dip and I
- 49:11will rise and I will tell. You, I told him before it
- 49:13happened, man. I told you it wasn't.
- 49:15Good. I just want to let you know who
- 49:16won. I just want you to know who won
- 49:19the bracket last year, buddy. I did, I did, and I'm going to
- 49:23win this year till so you can kiss my rear.
- 49:26Just so you know, there's nothing to do with well,
- 49:29actually it's all lock. But you're right.
- 49:31Good luck to me, even though I don't believe in luck, I believe
- 49:34in. Butt plug.
- 49:36Anyways, that's it for our show. Ladies and gentlemen.
- 49:38We'll talk to you Thursday. Good night, it.
- 49:41Is the worldwide sports radio network.
