- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:04Speaker 1: Am six forty.
- 0:11Speaker 2: The Dodgers having won the World Series.
- 0:14Speaker 3: I guess the Toronto Blue Jays, so so it's fair
- 0:17Speaker 3: to say Dodgers.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Won in four point four games. That's a reference to
- 0:24Speaker 2: the exchange rate between Candida.
- 0:27Speaker 4: And United side that thinker was told there'd be no map.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And now Handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen, here's
- 0:38Speaker 1: Bill Handle.
- 0:40Speaker 2: And good morning everybody.
- 0:41Speaker 3: It is a Tuesday, Taco Tuesday, November fourth, and we've got,
- 0:47Speaker 3: strangely up another full day. Some breaking news today as well.
- 0:52Speaker 3: It's a very important day in terms of elections. We'll
- 0:55Speaker 3: talk about that coming up. Also, welcome back to Amy.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Good morning, Good morning.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Okay, you have a sweatshirt that says the Beavers. Okay,
- 1:08Speaker 3: explain that one, because of course what first comes to
- 1:10Speaker 3: mind is tell me what's going on with.
- 1:13Speaker 5: That Oregon State Beavers football.
- 1:15Speaker 6: I went to a football game while I was up
- 1:17Speaker 6: in Oregon and I got this jersey. Okay, and they won,
- 1:22Speaker 6: So I'm still celebrating because the Beavers suck this year,
- 1:25Speaker 6: so a win was it was a big deal.
- 1:27Speaker 3: So when the Dodgers did win that last game, Game seven,
- 1:31Speaker 3: of which I watched every single minute. That is the
- 1:34Speaker 3: first time in probably fifty years I have watched a
- 1:38Speaker 3: full game of baseball.
- 1:41Speaker 2: And as soon as the Dodgers won, Lindsay said, why don't.
- 1:43Speaker 3: You text Amy and congratulate her?
- 1:48Speaker 2: And did you get the text?
- 1:49Speaker 6: I did not.
- 1:50Speaker 3: That's because I didn't send it. I figured that's correct.
- 1:55Speaker 3: In any case, hell of a game. It was a
- 1:59Speaker 3: hell of a game. They say it was going to
- 2:00Speaker 3: go down for the ages. I thought it was.
- 2:02Speaker 2: It was a really interesting game.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I had Petro signed yesterday and I thought that, you know,
- 2:07Speaker 3: not that I'm a maven in baseball, but I thought
- 2:10Speaker 3: that Toronto actually outplayed the Dodgers through the series. It
- 2:16Speaker 3: was just they were the better team. A lot of
- 2:19Speaker 3: it was lightning in a bottle. I know, we're going
- 2:20Speaker 3: to do sports talk. You're shaking your finger at me,
- 2:22Speaker 3: you're wagging your finger.
- 2:23Speaker 6: Well, I'm only to say I initially actually was thinking
- 2:27Speaker 6: that at times too, thinking wow, the Blue Jays are
- 2:30Speaker 6: because they were fabulous. But the game is offense and defense,
- 2:36Speaker 6: and the Dodgers came through in the clutch when they
- 2:38Speaker 6: needed to, so their defense it's you know, it's not
- 2:41Speaker 6: just offense.
- 2:42Speaker 2: So I understood, but you know, the argument is lightning
- 2:44Speaker 2: in a bottle.
- 2:45Speaker 3: But the other thing, I was making a lot of
- 2:47Speaker 3: fun yesterday about the parade, of course, and we were
- 2:49Speaker 3: doing I was going to do a football pool as
- 2:52Speaker 3: to how many dumpsters were going to be torched and
- 2:55Speaker 3: how many cars were going to be overturned none, I
- 2:58Speaker 3: don't I always make that joke, but two and I
- 3:02Speaker 3: was thinking about this and seriously thinking about this. The
- 3:05Speaker 3: Dodgers are absolutely an incredible organization when you look at
- 3:10Speaker 3: the diversity. They were the first team to bring an
- 3:14Speaker 3: African American on Jackie Robinson I think it was nineteen
- 3:16Speaker 3: forty seven, and then made a huge deal out of
- 3:21Speaker 3: the Hispanic Latino ballplayers and broadcasting.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Now, a lot of it has to do with a
- 3:27Speaker 2: population base.
- 3:28Speaker 3: But they were at the forefront of that, and they're
- 3:31Speaker 3: at the forefront of Japanese players coming in. I mean,
- 3:35Speaker 3: they have been ahead of the game in terms of
- 3:38Speaker 3: where this country has been going in terms of diversity
- 3:41Speaker 3: and the concept of melting pots or a melting pot.
- 3:44Speaker 3: And I have to give them a lot of credit
- 3:46Speaker 3: for that, I really do, and good for them. Good
- 3:50Speaker 3: for them all right, that's enough. I'm not going to
- 3:52Speaker 3: give them any more kudos. All right, Amy, welcome back
- 3:55Speaker 3: and Cono. Good morning, Good morning Bill, Good morning Bill. Okay, excellent, Yeah,
- 4:03Speaker 3: you do have a frog I there will Good morning
- 4:06Speaker 3: to you.
- 4:07Speaker 2: All right. Well we all happy campers, and I'm Neil
- 4:11Speaker 2: there you are. Yeah, that's not what happened.
- 4:15Speaker 7: That's actually what happened.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Bro the wabbler starts to go and then and a
- 4:20Speaker 2: good morning to you, Good morning to you. You see,
- 4:22Speaker 2: I'm in a reasonably good mood.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Got into a huge fight with Lindsay this morning, and
- 4:28Speaker 3: now I do this show. Uh it's called that Tuesday
- 4:31Speaker 3: they do. Uh did you and did you hear a
- 4:33Speaker 3: scream at each other?
- 4:35Speaker 2: No? I did not. Oh yeah, No, we were really
- 4:37Speaker 2: yelling at each other this morning.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Damn Yeah. The dogs came in and we just started yelling.
- 4:42Speaker 3: It was really good fight. There's five o'clock in the morning,
- 4:45Speaker 3: just you know, fight over stuff.
- 4:47Speaker 7: Did you like Trump for an hour?
- 4:51Speaker 4: No?
- 4:53Speaker 2: No, I did not like Trump for an hour.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Do you do that when she gets mad at you
- 4:56Speaker 4: say I'm going to become a Republican.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to become a rump is Yeah, all right,
- 5:01Speaker 3: So we have the election we're going to talk about
- 5:03Speaker 3: today for sure, and a fairly extraordinary American has just died.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And that's Dick Cheney, who died at the age of
- 5:10Speaker 3: eighty four. Should have died sooner. And I'm not talking
- 5:13Speaker 3: about politically, I'm talking about physically. He's had heart attack
- 5:17Speaker 3: after a heart attack, and he's had surgeries and had
- 5:21Speaker 3: a heart transplant bypass surgery.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and he made it.
- 5:27Speaker 3: And he made it to eighty four, which actually is
- 5:30Speaker 3: pretty impressive. My dad made it to eighty five, and
- 5:33Speaker 3: he should have died in his fifties. But modern medicine
- 5:37Speaker 3: keeps people alive, So you may have ten years in
- 5:40Speaker 3: you huh, No, I'm okay. I don't have I don't
- 5:43Speaker 3: have any heart disease. I don't. I've had two vowels
- 5:47Speaker 3: that were put in, but yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I've
- 5:52Speaker 3: had back surgery, it vowels put in. Nothing life threatening. No,
- 5:56Speaker 3: I don't have congeneral heart disease or anything.
- 5:57Speaker 7: Sounds different from your wife's point of view.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well that's because she's trying. Okay, all right,
- 6:03Speaker 3: let's do it, guys. Are you ready. We've got plenty
- 6:06Speaker 3: of news to talk about. It is time for Handle
- 6:08Speaker 3: on the news with Amy. Who's back Neil and me
- 6:12Speaker 3: lead story, and it is Dick Cheney who has just
- 6:19Speaker 3: died at the age of eighty four. I'm not even
- 6:22Speaker 3: going I'm not even going through the list of what
- 6:25Speaker 3: he has done as a public servant. But I will
- 6:28Speaker 3: talk about that at seven am, because that'll be our
- 6:31Speaker 3: first segment coming up. And no matter which side of
- 6:33Speaker 3: the political spectrum you are, he is a fascinating and
- 6:38Speaker 3: hugely influential character in our modern democracy and at the
- 6:46Speaker 3: very tip top of the power, serving two presidents, a
- 6:52Speaker 3: chief of staff when he was thirty four. Who the
- 6:55Speaker 3: hell becomes the presidential chief of staff at the age
- 6:58Speaker 3: of thirty four?
- 7:00Speaker 5: Dick Cheney.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Dick Cheney. All right, moving on.
- 7:07Speaker 6: Poles are opening in about fifty minutes.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Does anyone care?
- 7:12Speaker 6: Apparently not, because in California, since we went to vote
- 7:16Speaker 6: by mail, almost everybody's doing it. Since twenty twenty, more
- 7:20Speaker 6: than eight in ten Californians in stay wid er general
- 7:23Speaker 6: or special elections are voting by mail in either mailing
- 7:27Speaker 6: it in or dropping it off, or returning it to
- 7:29Speaker 6: a local voting center.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm seven twenty. I'm going to talk about that.
- 7:35Speaker 3: And the conclusion I think that all of us will
- 7:38Speaker 3: reach or have reached, is all the reasons that the
- 7:43Speaker 3: both sides are arguing for you to vote one way
- 7:46Speaker 3: or the other mean absolutely nothing.
- 7:48Speaker 2: It's all crap, is what they're saying.
- 7:50Speaker 3: No one believes in the underlying issue with democracy or
- 7:54Speaker 3: not democracy. It is straight politics, and so that's coming
- 7:59Speaker 3: out up at seven.
- 8:02Speaker 4: La Metro can't can't find anybody to ride. They keep
- 8:06Speaker 4: telling everybody, Hey, here's something we'll do. How about free
- 8:09Speaker 4: rides today on election day? Get writers to the polls.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Not only they saying you can do that on the
- 8:16Speaker 4: La Metro as far as traditional methods, but also they're
- 8:19Speaker 4: newer methods like the Metro bike Share. They offer free
- 8:22Speaker 4: thirty minute rides. Metro customers can select one ride at
- 8:27Speaker 4: any Metro bike share kiosk, you can go online, you
- 8:31Speaker 4: can go to the Metro bike share app whatever it is,
- 8:33Speaker 4: but you got to use the promo code. It's very clever.
- 8:37Speaker 4: One one zero four, two five eleven zero four.
- 8:43Speaker 3: It's very clever. And I understand the Metro buses. I
- 8:47Speaker 3: get that, I understand what a train is. Bike share,
- 8:51Speaker 3: I understand now micro ride share either their tiny little
- 8:56Speaker 3: cars or busting cell or very small people only people
- 9:01Speaker 3: under three foot eight dwarfs are allowed on all right.
- 9:05Speaker 5: No ID required.
- 9:08Speaker 6: A California appeals court has ruled that a voter identification
- 9:12Speaker 6: rule approved by Huntington Beach last year violates state law.
- 9:17Speaker 6: Voters approve the measure that requires residents to show valid
- 9:20Speaker 6: ID to cast a ballot. It would have started in
- 9:23Speaker 6: twenty twenty six, but the State of California filed a
- 9:26Speaker 6: lawsuit saying the measure unlawfully conflicts with and is preempted
- 9:29Speaker 6: by state law. A lower court dismissed the case, and
- 9:34Speaker 6: then Attorney General Rob Bonta appealed that ruling and.
- 9:37Speaker 3: One and one And I'm surprised that the lower court
- 9:41Speaker 3: even agreed with Huntington Beach. I mean, election law is
- 9:47Speaker 3: very clear cut. The states control all election law. And
- 9:50Speaker 3: also a state law preempts a county law preempts city law.
- 9:56Speaker 3: And we discussed this before about Huntington b which is
- 10:01Speaker 3: the poster child of conservatism in southern California.
- 10:04Speaker 6: So why is it a conservative thing to do? Voter
- 10:07Speaker 6: I D I don't understand why. Hey, I'm a favor
- 10:11Speaker 6: of voter ID vote I am a favor of voter
- 10:14Speaker 6: I D. However, the philosophy of voter I D. If
- 10:19Speaker 6: you're pushing voter I D, therefore you're disenfranchising people who
- 10:23Speaker 6: don't have ID.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Who doesn't have ID, well.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Poor people who don't go to the DMV, homeless people
- 10:31Speaker 3: who don't go to the DMV, people that don't understand
- 10:35Speaker 3: the DMV.
- 10:36Speaker 4: It's only the poor and the homeless.
- 10:40Speaker 3: And that is the basis of the law that says none.
- 10:45Speaker 7: Of that ID for everything else.
- 10:47Speaker 2: That's true.
- 10:48Speaker 3: And I told this story before last election. I went,
- 10:51Speaker 3: and I've done this several times. I go to the
- 10:53Speaker 3: polls and I like to vote, although now I do
- 10:56Speaker 3: it by mail. I'm done physically pulling anymore physically going
- 10:59Speaker 3: to the p and I walk up there and I say,
- 11:03Speaker 3: you know, my name is William Handle and give my
- 11:05Speaker 3: address and then I say, would you like to see
- 11:07Speaker 3: my ID? No, I go, I have my ID right
- 11:10Speaker 3: here to prove who I am. Don't want to see it.
- 11:13Speaker 3: But don't you want to know who I am? Well, yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 3: you said who you are? And the weirdiest thing in
- 11:20Speaker 3: the world.
- 11:20Speaker 2: It is so strange. It is beyond belief.
- 11:23Speaker 3: You certainly need an idea, drive a car, you certainly
- 11:26Speaker 3: need ID.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Actually to walk the streets, you have to have ID.
- 11:30Speaker 3: But when it comes to voting, our most precious franchise
- 11:34Speaker 3: that exists in a free society, the right to vote.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Now you don't have to find out that they don't
- 11:40Speaker 3: care whether you are or not. Now, the other side
- 11:43Speaker 3: of it is fraud. The amount of fraud that actually
- 11:46Speaker 3: exists without vot ID that's minuscule too.
- 11:51Speaker 2: So that's the reality.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Okay, well not just on this coast, but on the
- 11:56Speaker 4: East Coast as well.
- 11:58Speaker 7: Today's big day.
- 11:59Speaker 4: You got present sat Donald Trump urging New Yorkers in
- 12:03Speaker 4: typical kind of heavy handed Donald Trump way his strongest
- 12:08Speaker 4: terms yet to vote for former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who
- 12:13Speaker 4: he hates in the city's mayoral race.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Yeah, he hates Cuomo. Cuomo hates him. Yeah, they're both total,
- 12:23Speaker 3: total enemies. On the other hand, you got mom Donnie,
- 12:26Speaker 3: who is what Trump calls a communist, and he's not
- 12:30Speaker 3: a communist.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I mean, he's a socialist, but there's a difference.
- 12:34Speaker 3: You know, he's Trump's going a little bit far, and
- 12:36Speaker 3: so we're going to do more about that. Coming up
- 12:39Speaker 3: at seven thirty. I aim you were about to.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Say something, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
- 12:45Speaker 2: That's exactly correct. Yeah, that's it.
- 12:47Speaker 4: And he said he came right out and said, whether
- 12:50Speaker 4: you personally like him or not, you really have no choice.
- 12:53Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:54Speaker 3: And by the way, if you vote for him, New
- 12:56Speaker 3: York will not get any more money. As a matter
- 12:59Speaker 3: of fact, he's gonna he is going to have probably
- 13:04Speaker 3: Mike Johnson and uh and or conceivably another representative that
- 13:10Speaker 3: put in a bill to make New York illegal. The
- 13:14Speaker 3: city will be about the existence of the city will
- 13:19Speaker 3: be in violation of federal law.
- 13:20Speaker 4: You just watch what's your thoughts on Mom, Donnie, Mom, Dottie, Mom, Dommy.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Well, he is certainly left wing.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I mean, he's about as left wing as you're going
- 13:28Speaker 3: to get out there. Uh. There's a big issue about
- 13:31Speaker 3: him being anti Semitic because he's he's Muslim and it's
- 13:35Speaker 3: pro Palestinian. I mean, to the extent is he anti Semitic?
- 13:41Speaker 3: I don't know, because a lot of Jews say anti Semitism.
- 13:45Speaker 3: But if you're pro Palestinian, you're there for anti Semitic.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I don't buy that.
- 13:51Speaker 3: I think you can be pro Palestinian and not be
- 13:53Speaker 3: anti Semitic.
- 13:54Speaker 7: Yeah, and certainly you could be Muslim and not be
- 13:56Speaker 7: anti Semitic.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Well that's so I'll talk more about that. But he is,
- 14:03Speaker 3: he's going to be mayor for one thing, and there's
- 14:05Speaker 3: certain things that he wants to do.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Free bus rides for everybody.
- 14:08Speaker 3: For example, he wants rent stabilization, no more rent increases,
- 14:15Speaker 3: which makes absolutely no sense.
- 14:19Speaker 7: Why does much you waive the ten dollars cost for IDs.
- 14:23Speaker 3: And I don't know, I mean that will be wait,
- 14:25Speaker 3: I don't know if that's what the cost in New York.
- 14:27Speaker 3: And then much like when I campaigned for president of
- 14:31Speaker 3: my class in the fourth grade, free pizza on Fridays
- 14:34Speaker 3: for every New Yorker. Okay, we'll talk more about that
- 14:39Speaker 3: coming up. Don't you remember free pizzas that everybody else?
- 14:43Speaker 7: That's what you do. And then you say that you
- 14:44Speaker 7: scream the name of your mascot. Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 6: So apparently Bill was not the only one riveted by
- 14:50Speaker 6: the World Series. Nearly half of Canada's population watched Game seven.
- 14:57Speaker 6: Eighteen and a half million, or forty six percent of
- 14:59Speaker 6: canada estimated population tuned into at least part of the
- 15:03Speaker 6: game viewership peaked at fourteen million in the bottom of
- 15:07Speaker 6: the ninth inn and of course that's when the Blue
- 15:09Speaker 6: Jays had a chance to win in walkoff faction. And
- 15:13Speaker 6: then it was also in the US, it was the
- 15:16Speaker 6: most watched game since twenty seventeen. So the US audience
- 15:21Speaker 6: was twenty and a half and twenty five and a
- 15:24Speaker 6: half million, the most since Game seven between the Dodgers
- 15:28Speaker 6: and the Astros in twenty seventeen.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Keep in mind the Super Bowl is one hundred and
- 15:32Speaker 3: ten one hundred and fifteen million people that watched the
- 15:34Speaker 3: Super Bowl, a third of the entire United States and so.
- 15:39Speaker 5: Well, they don't have fun commercials during the World Series.
- 15:42Speaker 2: That's true when they have all loftime show.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Also, also there's a lot of baseball, and one of
- 15:47Speaker 3: the things about football is sixteen games and then you
- 15:50Speaker 3: have the Super Bowl, and that's one game. It's not
- 15:54Speaker 3: the best of anything. I mean, it's on any given day.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Forstening to David Vessay the other day on the station
- 16:01Speaker 4: talking about how these last two seasons have been like
- 16:04Speaker 4: the longest seasons ever for the Dodgers, and he's been
- 16:08Speaker 4: with them every moment of every with preseason everything.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and the Dodgers and they did that parade yesterday
- 16:17Speaker 3: which huge numbers of people came.
- 16:20Speaker 5: Out and yes, about two hundred thousand.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of excitement. Clayton Kershaw said goodbye. He
- 16:27Speaker 3: was going to go and immediately go and shave his
- 16:29Speaker 3: beard off. Pretty scraggly, isn't it?
- 16:33Speaker 2: Okay? Never mind heard, Yeah, there's beards and then there's beards.
- 16:37Speaker 5: A lot of the guys do that though.
- 16:38Speaker 6: They they grow them and then and then you get
- 16:41Speaker 6: to a certain point and it becomes a superstition too.
- 16:43Speaker 5: They don't they don't trim them or shave.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Them fair enough.
- 16:46Speaker 4: All right, all right, handle, you've got YouTube, YouTube, television, right,
- 16:51Speaker 4: I do. Okay, So they're in battle with the Disney
- 16:54Speaker 4: folks and ABC and all of that and already missing.
- 16:59Speaker 7: I guess Monday Night football would have been yesterday, right.
- 17:02Speaker 4: So now the election day coverage would be a blackout
- 17:05Speaker 4: as well as Walt Disney owned channel stretches into a
- 17:08Speaker 4: second week of negotiations with YouTube.
- 17:12Speaker 7: So where do you where are you going to get
- 17:13Speaker 7: the news tonight? Bill?
- 17:15Speaker 3: Well? Usually I record ABC News, which I'm not going
- 17:19Speaker 3: to be able to get, but I have NBC which
- 17:22Speaker 3: is still works and BBC still works and I watch
- 17:25Speaker 3: those Fox I still get, so CNN I still get.
- 17:31Speaker 3: So it's ABC stuff that I'm not getting. But I
- 17:34Speaker 3: really rely on that big time.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Do you watch BBC because you like when they say
- 17:39Speaker 4: kowala lumpool?
- 17:41Speaker 2: Yes, I actually I do. I do like BBC.
- 17:45Speaker 7: Out kowala lumpool.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yep.
- 17:49Speaker 3: So anyway, what Disney wanted to do was I have
- 17:55Speaker 3: YouTube restore TV coverage just for the election, and they said, no, thanks, now,
- 18:02Speaker 3: don't come to terms. They always do, but in the meantime,
- 18:06Speaker 3: we just don't have ABC or ESPN.
- 18:11Speaker 5: Well, this one gets a half snap up.
- 18:15Speaker 6: Trump administration is committed to partially funding the Supplemental Nutrition
- 18:19Speaker 6: Assistance Program known as SNAP or what used to be
- 18:22Speaker 6: called food Stamps, with a four point sixty five billion
- 18:26Speaker 6: dollar payment. They do say that using those emergency funds
- 18:31Speaker 6: to pay for the half SNAP benefits would take a
- 18:34Speaker 6: few weeks up to several months.
- 18:37Speaker 5: That's not going to help anyone.
- 18:39Speaker 6: Of course, the federal judge had ordered the Trump administration
- 18:42Speaker 6: to use emergency funds to pay for SNAP, and they're
- 18:46Speaker 6: going to get about half of what they normally would get.
- 18:49Speaker 2: This is where the president.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Boy, he walked this one backwards pretty quickly because of
- 18:55Speaker 3: the impasses going on between Republicans and Democrats. He had said,
- 19:01Speaker 3: we're not going to release snap funds. There weren't any
- 19:03Speaker 3: snap funds to release. Well, they did have snap funds
- 19:06Speaker 3: enough for two weeks as opposed to a full month, and.
- 19:09Speaker 2: He said, no, they don't have the money they do.
- 19:12Speaker 3: And the fact is there are a lot of people
- 19:15Speaker 3: who receive these food stamps. You know, forty million I
- 19:19Speaker 3: think Americans rely on this and that's forty million people
- 19:23Speaker 3: that have gotten would have gotten two weeks, are getting
- 19:26Speaker 3: two weeks instead of a full month. But it doesn't
- 19:30Speaker 3: bode politically very well for the administration to withhold money
- 19:35Speaker 3: that is there.
- 19:37Speaker 2: For emergency purposes.
- 19:38Speaker 3: And it initially a Trump administration said, this is not
- 19:41Speaker 3: an emergency. Emergencies are natural disasters. Running out of money
- 19:46Speaker 3: is not considered an emergency.
- 19:49Speaker 4: I wouldn't see natural disaster though, dealing hurricane here it is.
- 19:53Speaker 4: But you know what I'm saying, it's about people's shelter
- 19:56Speaker 4: and food.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Basically, a natural disaster is what cast people not to
- 20:01Speaker 3: have food exactly.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Yeah, And so.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Otherwise if it was in a plane, if it was
- 20:05Speaker 4: on a beach where no one lived, no one would care.
- 20:08Speaker 2: So of course unless people lived on.
- 20:09Speaker 7: The beach, it couldn't eat.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, right, that is That's about as big a natural disasters.
- 20:14Speaker 2: I think time it would.
- 20:16Speaker 7: Push the Democrats and ended up pushing him.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Oh yeah, all right, And a parent company, Tyland, has
- 20:23Speaker 4: been in the news quite a bit. Did you know
- 20:25Speaker 4: that if you have it during pregnancy that you're going
- 20:29Speaker 4: to be autistic and so is your kid and maybe
- 20:32Speaker 4: even a neighbor and a dog.
- 20:33Speaker 7: So keep that, keep watch on that.
- 20:35Speaker 4: But Huggies maker Kimberly Clark announced Monday that it would
- 20:39Speaker 4: buy Tyler's parent company, ken View, And uh, I think
- 20:44Speaker 4: that if you're looking at like fifty billion dollars in
- 20:47Speaker 4: this deal, and I have.
- 20:49Speaker 3: No idea that was that big, it's huge, obvious, it's massive,
- 20:53Speaker 3: I know.
- 20:54Speaker 4: And so this merger this some say that this is
- 20:57Speaker 4: because Trump administration is very open towards corporate acquisitions.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Very much so, very much so.
- 21:06Speaker 3: And there I don't know if the Trump administration or
- 21:09Speaker 3: the FDA is still pushing Thailand.
- 21:12Speaker 2: All to put the warning on the box. I think
- 21:15Speaker 2: that's up in the air.
- 21:17Speaker 7: I think it's still in progress as.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I've seen a couple of I've seen a couple
- 21:23Speaker 3: of warnings that they're considering. One if you have a
- 21:27Speaker 3: male child, his scrot and will fall off if you
- 21:32Speaker 3: take Thailand all during pregnancy. That seems horrible, It does,
- 21:36Speaker 3: doesn't it. That's the side effect I would justice left. Yeah, well, no,
- 21:41Speaker 3: it's a stroke with the testicles, because it's kind of
- 21:44Speaker 3: hard to have your scrote fall off without the you
- 21:46Speaker 3: know what, that didn't even work to begin with. Okay,
- 21:49Speaker 3: why we're going beyond that? I have no idea.
- 21:52Speaker 7: Now I'm curious.
- 21:54Speaker 2: No, it was horrible. It was horrible. Oh, here's another one.
- 21:58Speaker 2: There's another great fdy.
- 22:00Speaker 6: Amy wondering when the rotting teeth are going to start
- 22:03Speaker 6: showing up. The Food and Drug Administration has moved to
- 22:06Speaker 6: limit the use of fluoride.
- 22:09Speaker 5: To kids under three.
- 22:13Speaker 6: It says the doesn't it doesn't seek the removal of
- 22:17Speaker 6: products from the market, as had been discussed at some point,
- 22:20Speaker 6: but it does no longer recommend for children younger than
- 22:23Speaker 6: three and those who are older but don't risk serious
- 22:26Speaker 6: risk of tooth decay to not get it.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Yeah, in light of every single dental organization, school professional
- 22:34Speaker 3: organization scholars who say that fluoride is absolutely required, mandated
- 22:42Speaker 3: so the kids don't get cavities or as many cavities.
- 22:46Speaker 3: When I was and I you know, I grew up
- 22:48Speaker 3: here southern California and Los Angeles specifically, and there was
- 22:52Speaker 3: an issue as to whether fluoride was going to be
- 22:54Speaker 3: added to the city water, and that was are you
- 22:59Speaker 3: ready for this? There was a fight that went on
- 23:02Speaker 3: for months and months to not have fluoride added to
- 23:06Speaker 3: the water. You know why because that was a Communist
- 23:10Speaker 3: plot to bring fluoride into the water system. I mean,
- 23:14Speaker 3: people are crazy when.
- 23:15Speaker 2: It comes to this.
- 23:16Speaker 3: And of course you have now you have Robert Kennedy
- 23:18Speaker 3: with the FDA saying oh no, no, we want we
- 23:21Speaker 3: don't want fluoride for kids under the age of three.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Well look now New York might turn Communist. So yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 4: which are worked? Yeah, yeah right, it could be. Dentists
- 23:33Speaker 4: every major dental organization has said that the FDA is crazy.
- 23:38Speaker 4: But then we know that already. The piece of garbage
- 23:41Speaker 4: out of the Cabazon area, a man who killed his
- 23:45Speaker 4: seven month old son, Emmanuel Harrow, was sentenced to what
- 23:49Speaker 4: I feel is a Measley twenty five years to life
- 23:52Speaker 4: in prison just yesterday. So if you remember, they reported
- 23:56Speaker 4: it missing back in August, but its body has not
- 24:00Speaker 4: been found. He's presumed to be dead.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Yeah, the little one.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Yeah, now it didn't matter that he got twenty five
- 24:08Speaker 3: years to life. He could have gotten a month because
- 24:11Speaker 3: he's not gonna last that long.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, They're gonna to put him in protective custody.
- 24:15Speaker 3: So he's going to be effectively in solitary for the
- 24:17Speaker 3: rest of his life, and if he goes out in
- 24:21Speaker 3: general population, he will be looking over his shoulder every
- 24:25Speaker 3: single moment, knowing that the shank was going to come
- 24:29Speaker 3: and will.
- 24:29Speaker 4: Meanwhile, the child's mother, Rebecca, has pleaded not the ulti
- 24:34Speaker 4: murder Bols case.
- 24:35Speaker 2: We'll see what happens on that one.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Let the rebuilding begin.
- 24:41Speaker 6: So, there was a hospital in Israel that's effered heavy
- 24:45Speaker 6: damage from the Iranian missile fire in June. It was
- 24:50Speaker 6: struck June nineteenth, at the height of the twelve day
- 24:52Speaker 6: war between Israel and Iran. Canadian Israeli billionaire Sylvan Adams
- 24:57Speaker 6: says he's going to donate one hundred million dollars to
- 24:59Speaker 6: rebuild at the Israeli hospital. They're going to answer Iran
- 25:04Speaker 6: by building back bigger and better, he said.
- 25:07Speaker 2: And the medicine in Israel is absolutely world class. I mean,
- 25:10Speaker 2: there's no question.
- 25:12Speaker 3: It is interesting that the news is that one hundred
- 25:15Speaker 3: million dollar donation is going to build a hospital in
- 25:19Speaker 3: Israel and we have not yet heard of Well they figure,
- 25:22Speaker 3: I don't know how many billions upon tens of billions
- 25:25Speaker 3: of dollars is going to take to rebuild Gaza that
- 25:28Speaker 3: we don't know it's and it's not going to be individuals.
- 25:31Speaker 3: It's going to be governments. It's going to be the
- 25:33Speaker 3: Mid East governments that are be putting money into it.
- 25:36Speaker 3: It's I just find this well, you know them Jews?
- 25:40Speaker 3: What can I tell you?
- 25:44Speaker 7: Don't get me started? Am I right?
- 25:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 25:46Speaker 3: I know you anti semit you heyes, I'm all. I
- 25:51Speaker 3: haven't been accused of being a self loathing Jew. And
- 25:53Speaker 3: I don't know how long. What is wrong with you people?
- 25:56Speaker 3: What is wrong with you people that are listening?
- 25:59Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 26:00Speaker 4: Everything this is uh, you know, just goes to show
- 26:03Speaker 4: you the devil is in the details. Education Department is
- 26:08Speaker 4: sued over controversial loan forgiveness rule. You've got critics coming
- 26:12Speaker 4: up and looking at this rule, saying that the department
- 26:15Speaker 4: is basically trying to exclude organizations that work with LGBTQ
- 26:19Speaker 4: plus individuals that work with immigrants, that work with trans
- 26:25Speaker 4: gender children from the program. And two lawsuits were filed
- 26:30Speaker 4: just yesterday against the Trump administration after the Education Department
- 26:35Speaker 4: published this student debt forgiveness rule.
- 26:39Speaker 3: And now there's some new rules that say that employers
- 26:45Speaker 3: that have a substantial illegal purpose will not be eligible
- 26:48Speaker 3: for the program. Illegal purpose meaning helping trans people.
- 26:54Speaker 7: But that's either based on the Trump Oh.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely.
- 27:00Speaker 3: And then finally a story that should have been out
- 27:03Speaker 3: of Japan but is out of France instead.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Ooh la la.
- 27:08Speaker 6: A Chinese online retailer has fallen out of favor with France.
- 27:12Speaker 6: French authorities say they might bat block access to Shine.
- 27:17Speaker 6: I don't even know what this was, but it's a
- 27:19Speaker 6: online retailer, don't dummy.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Seriously.
- 27:22Speaker 6: It emerged that the online fast fashion giant has been
- 27:25Speaker 6: selling sex dolls that look like kids.
- 27:29Speaker 2: What that is?
- 27:30Speaker 3: That is tough, Well, that's what they're saying, and it
- 27:32Speaker 3: could be I mean, it could be interpreted, so they
- 27:35Speaker 3: shut it right down. Normally, the French sex dolls are
- 27:39Speaker 3: great because what they do is have the appropriate anatomical areas.
- 27:45Speaker 3: For example, the penis of the doll shaped like a
- 27:48Speaker 3: bag yette and you know it comes from France.
- 27:51Speaker 7: And then you can get with the female ones with
- 27:53Speaker 7: or without armpit hair.
- 27:55Speaker 2: That's very nice option. It's a very nice option. Are sick?
- 27:59Speaker 3: I know?
- 27:59Speaker 2: Thank you so much. Thank you. We take that as
- 28:01Speaker 2: a compliment. All Right, we're done. Guys, you've been listening
- 28:05Speaker 2: to the Bill Handle Show.
