2:42
a little bit different considering what took place Saturday evening in Butler, Pennsylvania.
2:46
Let me let me take care of some housekeeping first. I told you on
2:51
Friday that I would have Tim Brady from the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau schedule
2:55
to come on to talk about the success of the bike event that happened in
3:00
Charleston in May. The Dollars and Cents report that came out of that was
3:06
simply great for the city of Charleston and for the entire Canal Valley. I
3:10
talked to Tim about it yesterday and we kind of came to the collective decision
3:16
that it may be best to postpone his appearance on the show today. So
3:21
instead, Tim's going to be on the show on Thursday. I did have
3:27
Tony Hodge, who was with the State Republican Party, schedule for the show
3:30
today as well. I'm going to keep that appointment with him. He's going
3:34
to join us a little bit later on in the show. But I wanted
3:38
to take the time this morning to talk about the attempt on the life of
3:44
former president and Republican nominee again for the presidency, Donald Trump Saturday evening in
3:50
Pennsylvania. Now, this may very well become one of those Well, let
3:59
me back up before I get into my thing. I want to say this.
4:01
I am more in I'm going to give some of my thoughts, but
4:05
on the show today, at least for the first couple of segments, I
4:09
am more interested in your thoughts. So if you'd like to call me,
4:14
you can do that. Ryan standing by and the hotline number for big Ley
4:17
Pickley Wiggley three zero four three four five fifty eight fifty eight, or you
4:20
can text Curtis give Tony the Taylor three zero four nine three five five zero
4:25
zero eight. And that's one I want to keep the focus on today again.
4:29
I'm gonna I'm gonna give my thoughts, but I'm more interested in what
4:32
you have to think. All right, what you have to say. But
4:36
it this may very well become one of those where were you type moments in
4:45
American history. I could tell you I was at my house with my wife
4:47
Saturday evening, sitting down, getting ready to have dinner. And uh,
4:56
you know, we dinner at six o'clock in my house because you know,
4:58
we're we're all U. I'm getting out, getting ready to you know,
5:00
chout down on some on some grilled salmon. UH. Had the had the
5:05
TV on one of the local newscasts, UH, just kind of in the
5:10
background, and a friend called me and asked me if I was watching the
5:14
national news, and I told him that I was not. And I quickly
5:18
flipped over, and much like many of you, was was horrified by what
5:28
I saw. And at this particular time, I mean this was literally they
5:31
when I saw it. They we didn't know. They didn't know whether he
5:35
was actually shot or not. They they didn't know, because I mean literally,
5:39
this was just as it had happened. But I was horrified, as
5:45
I'm sure many of you were as well. As I said, there was
5:48
still some question at that particular time as to whether it was a shooting or
5:54
some sort of fireworks or whatever. Uh. We later learned, of course,
6:00
that it was indeed shots fired at the former president, and since then
6:05
it has been NonStop coverage from all of the major news channels CNN, Fox,
6:14
NBC, the network's MSNBC online of course too, And I thought long
6:20
and hard about how to address this. You know, this morning, it
6:26
has been over forty years since we had an attempt on the life of a
6:32
president or former president. I am. I'm not old enough to remember the
6:39
chaos of the sixties with the assassinations of JFK, RFK, Martin Luther King,
6:43
Malcolm X, and others. But I am old enough to remember the
6:46
March Day in nineteen eighty one, when John Hinckley Junior attempted to kill President
6:53
Reagan. I also remember when when John Lennon was killed and when the Pope
6:58
was shot, and of course nine to eleven. Uh, But it's been
7:00
a while since something like that happened here. So I guess the question this
7:10
morning is how how did we get to this this place? Now? There's
7:19
a lot of unknowns, Because, of course the shooter was was killed.
7:25
We know, we have his identity, We know that it was a gun
7:28
that was apparently purchased legally from from from from the from the kid's father.
7:32
But we don't We don't really know a whole lot. But how did we
7:39
get to a place where we are seemingly so consumed with the destruction of people
7:53
or ideals that we see as differently than us. Now, as I said
8:01
about the shooter, we know this he was a registered Republican but had donated
8:07
to democratic causes. He appeared to be a bit of a loner. People
8:13
who went to high school with him described him as being someone who had little
8:18
of any friends and one who kind of stood out because of that. So
8:26
is that what led him to try to assassinate a former president and the presumptive
8:33
Republican nominee this year. And when you talk about Donald Trump, it's a
8:39
guy who despied all of his issues, in my opinion, was well on
8:45
his way to becoming the next president of the United States. And by the
8:50
way, what happened on Saturday in Butler, in my opinion, put the
8:54
exclamation point on that Donald Trump will now for sure be the next president of
9:00
the United States of America. But I think this goes well beyond that,
9:07
because who is responsible for what happened Saturday evening in Butler, Pennsylvania. Again,
9:15
there are so many questions unanswered. I mean, was this a political
9:20
extremist, as I said, a registered Republican but who had donated to democratic
9:24
causes, so we don't really know. Or if you recall John Hinckley Junior
9:31
who attempted to assassinate President Reagan in nineteen eighty one, did it to impress
9:35
Jodie Foster Mark David Chapman, The person that killed John Lennon in December of
9:41
nineteen eighty was mad because he felt John and Yoko broke up the Beatles.
9:46
So not everything has a political bent to it. And all of this,
9:52
as best you know, will will will come out at some point when the
9:56
investigations continue. But as for Saturday evening, who ultimately is responsible? And
10:07
I'm going to say that we are. We have allowed ourselves to be spoon
10:15
fed, in many cases erroneous information that the other side is the enemy,
10:22
using language like libtards, trump tards, deplorables, etc. We blame the
10:30
media. I mean that was a common christ Saturday night. NBC reported that
10:35
one man flipped off an NBC reporter and said to this lady, you caused
10:41
this the media. We blame social media. I blame social media. Social
10:52
media is somewhat responsible, but someone has to write the crap that dominates X
10:58
from a Twitter and Facebook, unless it's bots, which is a whole other
11:05
issue for a whole other time. The problem here, my opinion, more
11:11
interested in yours, which I'll get to the problem here is mister missus America
11:16
and mister and missus w CCHS listener. The problem is us. We allowed
11:22
ourselves to get sucked in to a cesspool of lies, hate and misinformation.
11:33
We sometimes blindly follow and buy and of lies that we see posted daily online.
11:39
We don't want the news, We want so called facts that back up
11:46
our preconceived notions. So what happened to us? We used to be able
11:54
to agree, to disagree, but at the very least listen to what the
12:01
other side says. I mean, I get vile, downright vile messages directed
12:09
toward me when I have someone like State Democratic Party chair and Delegate Mike Pushkin
12:13
on the show. I get the same when I have Greg Thomas on the
12:16
show. When I've had Don Blanket Chip on the show, you would think
12:22
I was having Satan himself on the show because I dare to give up a
12:26
time slot or to use the current terminology to platform him. Folks, we
12:35
gotta figure this out because listen up, either Donald Trump or Joe Biden,
12:43
and it looks like Biden is staying in. One of those two is going
12:46
to be the next president of the United States of America. And you may
12:52
not want to admit it, but they are going to be your president.
13:01
Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush,
13:07
Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and
13:09
Joe Biden. All of them were my presidents, whether I agreed with them
13:16
or not. And at the end of the day, Republican, Democrat or
13:22
Independent, or whatever your party is. You are an American and we have
13:28
the privilege of living in the greatest country on God's green earth. The fact
13:37
that we can even have these discussions should tell you that. The fact that
13:43
I get to set in this chair Monday through Friday and even have these discussions
13:48
and sometimes a little fun too, should let you know that. And I
13:56
have been very clear by saying almost daily on this show that in my opinion,
14:01
neither Joe Biden or Donald Trump are fit to be president. But as
14:05
my late granny used to say, you can want in one hand and you
14:09
know what in the other, and see which one gets filled up first.
14:15
One of those two will be the next president. And we got to live
14:20
with it. And for God's sakes, just stop stop with all the hate
14:28
Republicans. Listen to me. Joe Biden, AOC, Kamala Harris, aren't
14:33
your enemies. Democrats, Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Green, Matt Gates,
14:37
they aren't your enemies. Your enemy is you. It's you buying into everything
14:45
that you read online. It's letting Fox News and News out that who admitted
14:48
in court they are not legitimate news to form your opinions. It's believing the
14:54
same out of cn N, MSNBC, NEWSMAX. Someone who's got know,
15:00
really any real relevance, but they got a Twitter account tell you what to
15:05
think. If we are going to continue as a functional republic, we have
15:16
to do better. I'm pro choice, you're pro life. You aren't my
15:22
enemy, you are my fellow Americans. We just have a difference of opinion.
15:28
We gotta we got we gotta do better, and we got to stop
15:33
hating people that may think differently than us. That's where I am on this,
15:41
And again, a whole lot of answer questions, and by the fact
15:52
that the shooter is deceased, which I you know, I completely understand why
15:56
they shot him. We there's a lot of questions are going to be left
16:03
unanswered because of that. And again I'm not I'm not saying he shouldn't have
16:07
been shot. He obviously should have. And then there's the whole response and
16:11
how was he allowed to get up there to begin with? And all that's
16:15
going to be going to be discussed and digested by people that are way smarter
16:21
than I am. But it doesn't help, and I'm going to kind of
16:26
retract something I said when I said, it's on us. It doesn't help
16:30
when we use language saying that if Trump or Biden, if either one is
16:37
elected, that it's the end of democracy as we know it. And Joe
16:41
Biden's guilty of saying that. Donald Trump is guilty of saying that. I
16:47
don't know that Ronald Reagan would have said that. I don't know that LBJ
16:52
or John would have made statements like that. But they're just feeding into the
16:56
mood of the country. So all right, I am going here's what we're
17:03
gonna do. I'm gonna take a break. I got a bunch of texts

encouraging an attack on the Capitol and then ratifying it after the fact by calling
23:55

24:00
threat to democracy? As a Texter, well, Tony's here and I'll talk
24:03
to Tony in a couple of moments. A couple of things I want to

24:11
The governor is set to speak to West Virginia's this morning around eleven o'clock about

24:40
it on the air at a WV metro News dot com and all of our
24:42
social media platforms. Uh. Something else we are watching and totally unrelated to
24:48
the Trump situation, but it bears watching and talking about. Is Charleston City
24:53
Council. Tonight. We have a story post at a WCCHS network dot com
24:57
the petition to the city that is trying to change the penalties for first time
25:03
offenders when it comes to cannabis use could be interesting to see how this plays
25:07
out Tonight. The committee starts at five point thirty in the full Council meeting
25:11
this night at seven now the public is invited to attend and can sign up
25:15
to be heard as part of the public comment periods part of the council meeting.
25:18
I'll have a full review, of course, of the happenings tonight at
25:22
City Council on on tomorrow's show See Texas. Over the weekend, national media
25:32
interviewed former classmates of Thomas Crooks. In addition to saying he was a loner,
25:34
they said he was consistently and vocally conservative as a Texter. All right,
25:44
okay, I'm not gonna read that. I also want to remind you
25:47
that Senator and sendate financi scher Eric tar will make a return appearance on the
25:51
show tomorrow. I had the Senator on last week explaining his stance on the
25:56
budget surplus. The guy proposed tax cuts, et cetera, et cetera.
26:02
After the show, there were several texts of the show, and the Senator
26:06
was listening and as he was leaving, and he got in touch with me
26:10
and said, hey, I'd like to come back. I'd like to come
26:15
back on your show to address the listeners. So if you were one of
26:18
the ones that texted the show with comments or questions for Senator Tar, he
26:22
is willing to talk to you. One thing I have always said about Senator
26:26
Tari is you may not like the guy, you may not like his policies,
26:30
but he is always always willing to come on this show and take phone
26:34

that coming up a little bit later. On text says, ironically, the

So it's okay for him to promote violence. But if he's the recipient,

it is a big deal. Texas. Wanting someone politically dead is only wanting

28:30
all right, So Tony Hodge is here. How you doing man, Good
28:36
morning? How are you. Let me just say that I had Tony scheduled
28:40
to be on the show, what like a week or two ago. I
28:42
think you reached out to me. We were just talking and and you said
28:45
that you had an availability to come in, and so I you made the
28:49
cut. Tim Brady did not. Well, you know when we spoke last
28:53
week, I everything that was going on last week revolved around the debate performance
28:59
Big Boy Day in America. You know, there was a joke about that
29:02
with Joe Biden's press conference, and so that's what I had in my mind
29:04
when I was thinking about coming on today. We're just going to talk politics.
29:07
But you know, in the course of human events, you never know
29:11
when tragedy is going to strike. So, you know, I was talking
29:15
to my wife last night and just you know, you're kind of unprepared for
29:19
things like this when they pop up. But let me let me tell you
29:22
a quick story. So it was less than a month ago. I was
29:25
at the road to Majority conference in Washington, d C. And that conference
29:27
takes place at the Washington Hilton. And if you don't know, the Washington
29:32
Hilton is where President Ronald Reagan was shot in nineteen eighty one, and right
29:37
at the exact place where he was shot, there's a plaque on the wall.
29:41
It's a bronze plaque and it tells the story of what happened. And
29:45
of course you can go on YouTube and you can you can watch that the
29:48
whole event as it occurred on YouTube, and you can see on YouTube in
29:52
nineteen eighty one in the way it looks in that location right now, it's
29:56
it's pretty much identical. Nothing has changed, thing looks exactly the same.
30:00
So when you're standing there, which I've done for the last two years,
30:03
it's a surreal moment. You just have to stand there, read the plaque
30:07
and kind of reflect like, wow, this this really happened. And the
30:11
thing that's interesting for me is I'm a little younger than you, so that
30:15
that event, that that event with Reagan was actually before I was even born.
30:19
And so I'm standing there. Did you really need to go there?
30:22
So I'm standing there, I'm standing there thinking about this, and I'm thinking
30:26
Wow, you know, nothing like that's ever happened in my lifetime. Of
30:30
course, you hope that nothing like that ever does happen in your lifetime.
30:33
And then here we are on Saturday. I took my family I live in
30:37
Putnam County. I took them over to Eleanor Park and we were just having
30:41
a little family time over there. We had a small picnic, and after
30:45
the picnic, we were the kids were playing on the playground and my wife
30:48
and I were walking around the playground on the sidewalk there, and all of
30:52
a sudden, my son ran over to me and said that his phone went
30:55
off and that Trump had been shot. So, of course, immediately our
30:59
family came to an end and we got our phones out. Oh my goodness,
31:02
you know, uh, just tragic news to come at us like that.
31:07
But I want to go real quick to one thing that one of your
31:11
text are said, and I can't repeat it verbatim of what person one about
31:15

31:19
So I'll read the text when we come back from the break, because
31:23
I'm going to give you adequate time. Sure, And again Tony is willing

Tony Hodge of the State Republican Party is here. Tony, thank you for
34:34
joining us this morning. I did want to address a text that we had
34:37
earlier, but I want to give you plenty of time to do it.
34:39
It's said, I'll repeat. Please ask Tony Hodge how those who want to
34:44
establish Christianity as the state religion are not enemies of the Constitution. Yeah.
34:50
I think that's an interesting text. So I don't necessarily know anyone who wants
34:52
to establish Christianity as the state religion. But I will go all the way
34:58
back to our founding and John Addam was one of our you know, most
35:00
famous founding fathers, and he helped with with our declaration, he helped with
35:06
our Constitution, and he has an interesting quote and it says this. He
35:08
says our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. And I
35:15
think there's a lot of power in those words. And he didn't say Christianity
35:17
or anything like that, although I believe Christianity is, you know, is
35:21
the way that we should go. But you know, when we see things
35:23
like this come up. I heard your monologue at the beginning of the show.
35:28
I don't watch a lot of TV news, although I did on Saturday.
35:31
It's been four years since I've watched national television news, but I turned
35:34
it on on Saturday. I've heard a lot of talking heads. I've heard
35:37
a lot of opinions, and a lot of them are valid. You know,
35:39
there's there's opinions coming from all directions, and they're all valid. But
35:43
I'm going to tell you right now, it's the opinion of this guy talking
35:46
in this mic right now, that it what we have here is a profound,
35:52
profound spiritual problem. Nobody wants to talk about that. You know,
35:59
everybody in this country. She wants to talk about the politics and all,
36:00
well, the separation of church and state. We can't. We've gotten so
36:05
so far down this hole that we can't even bring up spiritual matters on the
36:10
radio, on the TV, in the public square anymore. This is this
36:15
is really, this is the really sad part about our country. And I
36:19
want to tell you this. The Bible says, I have it right here
36:21
in Vision six twelve. It says we are not fighting against flesh and blood,
36:25
but against the rulers. And authorities of the unseen world, against mighty
36:30
powers in the dark world, and against evil spirits and heavenly places. Everybody
36:34
wants to pay. Democrats versus Republicans, this group versus that group, this
36:38
generation versus that generation. What we have is a spiritual problem, and it's
36:43
it's a dire problem. And we have to turn back to what John Adams
36:47
said, a moral and religious people. We have to be those people again
36:52
there. I mean, it's a you know, yeah, I get,
36:58
I get really wound up. But you know, Jesus said, in this
37:02
world there will be many trials and sorrows, but take cart I have overcome
37:06
the world. We have someone to turn to, and his name is Jesus
37:08
Christ. And in times like this we need to turn to him. We
37:12
need to pray, we need, you know. Second Chronicles, chapter seven
37:15
says if my people, who are called by my name will turn from their
37:17
evil ways and repent of their sins and look toward me, I will save
37:21
their land. Now, the Lord was talking to the Hebrews back in that
37:24
time. But that's a principle that we can follow today. I mean,
37:29
you know, if we repent of our ways and turn from our evil ways,
37:32
and look toward a higher being, a higher calling. He will forgive
37:37
us. And that goes for any country. It's not just America, that's
37:39
any country. If any country turns to the Lord, I believe the Lord's
37:43
hand will be upon them. What we have here is a major, major,
37:46
major spiritual problem. We have to turn this country back to God.
37:52
And I get sick and tired of all the you know, we've gotten so
37:57
far to a point where, like I said earlier, we can't even about
38:00
christian Oh. Oh, I can't bring up anything about Christianity or anything about
38:04
religion because you know that might offend somebody or whatever. What we have now,
38:07
we've actually turned away from the Christian uh uh moral standard in this country
38:13
into what I like to call the state morality. And what that is is
38:15
it's it's a morality that really is not based on any higher standard. It's
38:20
just based on whatever the political ruling class want to say and the corporate world
38:24
wants to say. And if you don't tow a certain line in the corporate
38:29
world these days, you you could end up losing your job, You could
38:34
be taken down, you know, if you don't follow I don't know all
38:38
the prescriptions that they put out there on all these social issues. If you
38:42
don't follow that, now you will be taken down politically in your career all
38:47
sorts of ways. It's wrong. I'm here to tell you we have got
38:52
to turn off this garbage up here on this TV. We need to get
38:55
down on our knees. We needed to get our Bible out and we need
38:58
to start praying to the Lord that he will heal our land and heal our
39:00
hearts. Our hearts need healed, our moral compass needs refocused. I don't
39:09
disagree, but I mean I hate to say. Let me play Devil's advocate
39:14
here. Can can we return to morality without without without religion? In your
39:19
opinion? Simply because it's and I'm not being argumentative with you. I identify
39:24
as a Christian, okay. But there will be those that will say when
39:30
you talk about turning to God, they'll say, which God? When we
39:32
talk about putting the Ten Commandments on the in the classrooms of It's all well
39:37
and good until it becomes we want the Kuran in there, or we want
39:42
or some other religion that's may may not mean, but and fewer and fewer
39:45
people we're America is catching up good or bad with the rest of the world
39:50
and basically becoming non religious. That's that's kind of where we're headed. So
39:55
oh, we're not headed there, we are there, well, but I
39:58
mean numb ers are getting or more and more of your people who don't identify
40:02
with a religion or I guess my original question though, before we get even
40:07
more off TRACKA than that's my fault. That's the way I am is can
40:12
we return to this moral compass that you're talking about without religion saying we should?
40:19
But can we? Well, I mean it's a I mean, I'm
40:21
a Christian. I follow the Lord Jesus Christ. It's in my opinion that
40:23
I want to follow the God of love, and that's the Lord Jesus.
40:27
It's what you know the Holy Bible talks about. That's the God that that
40:30
I follow and the God that I will advocate for and defend. Let me
40:34
tell you this so I'll tie this back into politics because since we're we got
40:37
to get to some text here just real quick. So there's this book.
40:39
It's called Life in the Negative World. It's by Aaron Wren. It's a
40:43
really interesting book. This guy, it's he's a he's an actual a business
40:46
intellectual. But anyway, he talks about how we had the positive world of
40:52
Christianity, the neutral world, and now we're in the negative world. So
40:53
back in the nineteen fifties and prior, it was just normal for Christianity to
40:59
be you know, you had to be a Christian, run for office,
41:01
you had to be you know, everybody was Christian. Let's just short it
41:05
down and just say generally speak, Yeah, everybody that you knew in your
41:08
community, you know, you went to church or whatever. And then in
41:13
roughly the mid nineteen sixties, from the sixties to the nineties, he says,
41:15
things start to go on a downward slide. And he said, but
41:19
that's still the positive world. And then in the mid nineties up to the
41:22
up to about twenty fourteen, he said that was the neutral world, where
41:25
Christianity has never not really seen it as a positive and it's not really seeing
41:29
it as a negative. And then he said there was a huge shift in
41:31
twenty fourteen, the second term of Barack Obama up until today where Christianity now
41:37
is actually seen as a negative, which is kind of what I'm getting out
41:38
here. It's seen as a negative. We don't want to talk about it.
41:40
We run from it. We you know, you know, we just
41:45
don't want to bring it up. And he gives three examples in these different
41:49
eras to talk about the positive world, the neutral world, and the negative
41:52
world. In the positive world, nineteen eighty seven, Gary Hart ran for
41:55
the Democratic nomination for president. He was the shoe in. He had it.
42:00
Yeah, I mean, he had the nomination. Then news broke that
42:02
he had an apparent affair on his wife and the Democratic Party. He was
42:07
the Democratic going to be the Democratic nominee. The Democratic Party said, hey,
42:10
you know what, this is outrageous. We're not going to put up
42:14
with this. There's no way that we're going to allow this man to be
42:15
our nominee. And they threw him out and they got Michael Dukaucus in there,
42:20
and they ended up losing the election. Okay, that was in the
42:22
positive world. That's when people saw Christianity as a positive. Now moved to
42:25
the neutral world from the mid nineties up until the twenty fourteen. One example
42:30
the book gives in there is he had President Clinton, he had a White
42:35
House affair with a very young intern. Now he had to weather a storm.
42:40
He got impeached. They threw things at him, but he weathered it
42:45
and he got through it. They didn't throw him out. He got through
42:47
it. That was the neutral world. And now when we live in the
42:50
negative world, where our society sees Christianity as a negative. Now people all
42:57
over the country running for offices all over the place. Moral character and what
43:01
defines you morally doesn't matter. Left right, it doesn't matter. I'll give
43:06
you a good example that Donald Trump, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter
43:08
what side you're on. In the negative world, where Christianity is now seen
43:14
as a negative and we have enemies of Christianity, moral character doesn't matter,
43:17
and it only stands the reason. And what's funny to me is when I
43:20
hear people come on your show, Democrat party leaders, they'll come on your
43:23
show and just like you said, they'll bring up a Donald Trump, you
43:27
know, and they'll say his moral character, and you know, they'll throw
43:30
all this out there. Well, of course I advocate for people with moral
43:34
character, but it's real rich to me that they would come on here and
43:37
say that, because to me, it's very hypocritical, because you know,
43:43
for years and years and years, and I'm talking decades the left has promoted
43:47
im morality. Look at the Hollywood and the media and the things that are
43:52
shoved down our throats all the time with debauchery and nudity and filth and all
43:58
this stuff. They cram all this stuff down our throat, and then when
44:01
leaders turn out to have this kind of character, all of a sudden,
44:05
they cry foul. I think they're hypocrites, but I will say they're hypocrites

Democrats need to tone it down. I still believe we are almost forced to
47:29
choose between two candidates that are not the best ones we could offer. While
47:34
people will disagree with me, I could never vote for Donald Trump for anything,
47:37
says a text Texas said, you asked the question that cannot be answered
47:43
with one sentence. This has been still as the most horrible social experiment of
47:46
all times, testing the moral compass of human beings. You can stoperating here
47:51
if you want, well, I'm going to have to because it's too long,
47:52
sorry, Tex says Dave. Tell Tony, it's as simple today.
47:55
You're not allowed to mention God unless you give him a last name. And
47:59
we know what that is as in d Tex says, dear Tony, marry
48:04
and our founding father's religious values. Sounds nice and if you all want to,
48:08
and all, if you want to leave out the part about most of
48:12
them acting actually being criminals, but whatever makes you feel better, Tex says.
48:15
Most of those who denounce God and Christianity do not want to be held
48:19
accountable to anyone or any deity for their behaviors, their words, their actions,
48:23
so they deny He exists in attempts to justify their behaviors. Tex says,
48:29
go on YouTube, watch the frightening chaos and nine to eleven after the
48:31
towers fell, you hear a lot of calls for help from God and his
48:34
son, Jesus Christ. Have Tony Hodge explain how any the peaceful transfer of
48:37
power. Encouraging an attack on the Capitol and then ratifying it after the fact
48:42
by calling January sixth criminals, political prisoners and hostages that are very special,
48:45
isn't a threat to democracy? Yeah, I mean it's a foregone conclusion.
48:50
I condemned the events that happened at the Capitol. I guess it's referred to
48:52
on January sixth. I mean, I'm not a fan of that at all
48:55
and never have advocated for it. But back to what I was saying earlier,
48:59
what we need to do is we need to this country needs a great
49:04
awakening. You know, we had three or four great awakenings over the course
49:07
of our country. And what's happened over the last several years is we have
49:10
been fully immersed, baptized into what I call the great Awokening. We've been
49:16
so obsessed with see what you did there, Yeah, I mean woken.
49:21
Yeah, we've been so obsessed with all this woke foolishness that we've lost our
49:25
moral compass. We've lost even if we try, if we try to,
49:30
if we try to say we're doing moral things, we have no standard by
49:34
which to call our actions moral or immorl if we don't have a higher standard
49:37
other than us to compare it to. And so that's the thing is,
49:42
we're so wrapped up in the great Awakening, and what we really need is
49:44
a great awakening, and I'm ready for it. Dave Allen showing five Veney
49:47
Live has brought you parted by Mortgaan and Mortgan, America's largest injury law firm.
49:52
Tony says the text black folks and women weren't allowed to vote, let
49:55
alone consider full humans two hundred and fifty years ago. Many still are treated
49:59
that way. What part of Congress shall make no law respecting and establishment of
50:04
religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof? Do you not understand? Well?
50:07
The truth of the matter is that it's the Christian religion that actually fought to
50:13
bring Actually it laid the groundwork in the foundation for the arguments against slavery,
50:19
for the arguments against the suppression of women, for the arguments against all of
50:23
our you know, during the civil rights time, if you look at what
50:25
Martin Luther King Junior, when he would get up and speak, you know,
50:29
his letters from a Birmingham jail. It was addressed to clergy. That
50:31
letter was addressed to the clergy. Every argument that he used in the civil
50:36
rights era back in the nineteen fifties and sixties was based on the Christian standard,
50:42
the Christian morality. If it wasn't for Christianity, slavery could still be
50:45
going on in this country. Women could still be suppressed, there could still
50:50
be segregation. I mean, we may not even have hospitals. You know,
50:52
Christians created the first hospitals several centuries ago. There's so much it's like
50:59
the Christian world world view. What we see with what Christianity breaths, it
51:01
almost brings It's almost like the air we breathe. It's like, you don't
51:06
know. It's like a fish. You know, the fish doesn't know he's
51:07
in water and toy's out of it. We don't know that a lot of
51:09
the good things around us are actually part of the Christian worldview because it's the
51:14
air we breathe. One day, one day you're gonna say, boy,
51:16
I wish I hadn't taken that for granted. But Dave Allen showing five eighty

51:27
dot com. All right, so I'm gonna give you thirty seconds here.
51:30
Let's get off the religion thing for a moment. Let's let's get back to
51:34
what we saw. How do we get political discourse back as part of the
51:39
mainstream againning Now, now you've got twenty seconds, so go ahead. Okay,
51:43
yeah, you said get off the religious thing. Sorry, David's who
51:45
I know. No, No, it's no, no, it's who I
51:47
am. And the answer is you asked a question. My answer is we
51:51
have to turn our hearts back to God. We have to show love toward
51:54
one another and not hate, even people that we disagree with. I disagree
51:58
with people all the time. I disagree with you on everything. We have
52:00
several disagreements in your on you know one of my best friends. We have
52:04
to show love to one another. We have to turn back to God.
52:06
We have to set that standard higher. Like I said earlier, Jesus said,
52:10
in this world there will be trials and sorrows, but take heart,
52:14
I have overcome the world. One more thing I want to say before we
52:15
get off the air, the guy, the guy that passed away. He
52:20
passed away protecting his wife and daughter. God bless him, you know,
52:23
Jesus said. Jesus said, no greater love hath a man than those who
52:29
laid down a life for his friends. And that's what that man did.
52:30
That was true love right there, he's commended. All right, we gotta
52:34
go. Also, I understand from a programming know we are going to be
52:36
carrying the Republican National Convention on w c Radio great all week. All right,
52:40
gotta go, Tony, Thank you so much to me coming up at
52:43
ten oh six. I will see you tomorrow. Till then, have fun
52:45
and less somebody, let's do my lines see it, s am. And
52:57
