- 3:38Hey everybody, this is Black Diamond from the Crew Network and you're listening
- 3:42to Basic Black Appter Dark Podcasts to show that meets you where you are and
- 3:46gives you what you ask for. You know, I wanted to figure out
- 3:50what type of topic I was going to do tonight. So what I did
- 3:53was, as I was preparing for this topic, I did a little research.
- 3:58I went to the Bible. I wanted to know what the Bible says
- 4:01about peculiar God's chosen people. Well, I'm talking about one person. The
- 4:08Bible uses the word peculiar to describe God's chosen people. The word peculiar means
- 4:14being distinctive, being an individual, not a follower. The King James version
- 4:19of the Bible, first published in sixteen eleven, includes the verse for thou
- 4:25art a holy people unto the Lord. Thy God and the Lord have chosen
- 4:29thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are
- 4:34upon the earth. One Peter two and nine reads, but ye are a
- 4:40chosen one. It is likely due to a desire to avoid the suggestion of
- 4:45odd, the modern translators have changed it to special, which describes my guest
- 4:51tonight. She carries a more positive implication. She has the characteristics of being
- 4:58only one of a kind. Yes she is. Please welcome the Peculiar Princess
- 5:02to Basic Black after Dark heading their Baby. Listen, you and Angela missed
- 5:13me up because when I hear y'all introductions, I was like, oh,
- 5:16I need to put that in my bio. Y'all make me sound so good
- 5:21like peculiar as you have said it, as you have broken It's we don't
- 5:28realize how wonderful it is to be peculiar, to be one of a kind,
- 5:32and people look at being odd as being negative when it's not. I'm
- 5:38so I I can only be what Beyonce say, one on one, I'm
- 5:43number one, the only one, because that's how he created me. So
- 5:47first of all, thank you so much for having me on the show.
- 5:50My love, Thank you so much. No, thank you for being here.
- 5:54I appreciate y'all just started following you, and I'm like, you know
- 5:57what the peculiar princess is. It definitely is you. You're a woman who
- 6:02knows exactly who you are and will not hesitate to tell anyone. You walk
- 6:08the catwalk and you are prepared to walk into your greatness. What is the
- 6:12most significant change you've seen to yourself over the past few years to where I
- 6:18don't have to be in control. I'm not saying that I've mastered it.
- 6:24I'm saying that when it comes to the process and the progress in the way
- 6:30that the creator designed it, it looks totally different than what I would have
- 6:33thought. I had my little life all planned out from when I was in
- 6:38elementary school, where I was going to go to school, what I was
- 6:41going to do, how I was gonna do it, where I was going
- 6:43to live, and my life looks nothing like the plans that I had designed.
- 6:48But his designs are so impactful that even as I walk it out step
- 6:55by step, even in the uncomfortableness, because it doesn't feel comfortable to not
- 7:00always know why you're going somewhere, who you're going to meet when you get
- 7:05there because sometimes it's just me. I'm traveling, but it's just me and
- 7:11how he's going to do it, because you would think if he told you
- 7:15what the end was supposed to be, well, I think it should go
- 7:17this way. I have no clue as to who I'm sent there for how
- 7:23long it's going to take, what I'm gonna say. After one show,
- 7:26one girl said, I'm gonna look you up on Facebook because you bless me.
- 7:29I don't even remember doing anything but just being me. But he told
- 7:32me that's what I need, because you've been looking at yourself as a hindrance,
- 7:38a hindrance and not allowing you to even step out. Now I just
- 7:44step out boldly. If you accept me, you accept me, there's nothing
- 7:47going to change because of your opinion, and I'm free so being able to
- 7:54let go the reins and knowing that the outcome is going to be good.
- 7:58Are we all playing every now and again as far as our future? We
- 8:03even playing what we're gonna wear to work, what we're going for lunch.
- 8:07But anytime he wants to make a shift and make a change, he's gonna
- 8:11make a shift, and he's gonna make a change. We have no control
- 8:13over It's nice to plan because you never know. But at the same time,
- 8:20when he say move, you move. Sometimes you ain't even got to
- 8:24say you move. You gonna know something that right, I have to move.
- 8:28So I definitely get what you're saying. What is the most significant challenge
- 8:35you have faced in your career and how did you overcome it. I am
- 8:41an introvert. I know you can't tell it on my page, you can't
- 8:45tell it in person, but I prefer to be by myself. Like when
- 8:50I'm by myself, like I have whole I mean, I'm the whole concert,
- 8:54like I'm the lead singer, I'm the background, I'm the dancers,
- 8:58I'm everything and love it. So when I get out amongst people and it
- 9:03could be a small group, it doesn't matter. I have to just allow
- 9:09him to be him because the desire for me is to not be in front
- 9:13of I would love to be in the background. I would love to be
- 9:16setting up the scenes, behind the scenes, but he's put me in the
- 9:20forefront. It's that right. I still can't stand it. I know that
- 9:26sounds awful. I still can't stand it, but I'm going to do it,
- 9:30and I'm going to withstand it because that's what I'm called to do.
- 9:33But like, I plan days where I do absolutely nothing, and those are
- 9:39my favorite days. So there are some days when I have a full day
- 9:43like today, where on last night, just thinking about the schedule had me
- 9:50kind of panicking. So I had to calm down, I had to breathe,
- 9:54I had to tell myself, he built you for this, he put
- 9:58this together. If anything is counseled, that's great, but if not,
- 10:03then you already know. So the challenge for me is getting outside my head
- 10:09to know this is what's got to be done. On today, a full
- 10:13day, it's really a challenge for me. And usually, like if we
- 10:16have a fashion show, you got to be there at ten am. The
- 10:20show don't start till six, but you got to be there that morning for
- 10:24all of them. So I'm usually there twelve hours or more and I have
- 10:28to rain in the any feelings that I feel to process and do what he's
- 10:33called me to do. And a lot of people don't see that and they
- 10:35don't believe it. But no, it's a process to be an introvert and
- 10:39want to be by yourself, but you'll put in the midst of an entire
- 10:41group of people with all kinds of stuff going on, and you still got
- 10:46a function in your right mind in the midst of chorled chaos, like it's
- 10:52controlled chaos, but it's still chaos. If that makes sense. It does,
- 10:56it does. You had mentioned several times that you feelings though that you're
- 11:00an introvert, but you can't tell it. You know, the mind plays
- 11:03so many tricks on so many people, that perception of someone else, how
- 11:09you perceive a person, it can trick you. But one thing that I
- 11:13see that's fascinating is down how you perceive yourself and your mind is still playing
- 11:18tricks in because you may think that you're one way, but girl, you
- 11:22could be something totally different, and somebody else can see that in you.
- 11:26And that's the That's just the wonderful thing about life and the wonderful thing about
- 11:31individuals and us being called individuals. Now you're also modeling. Modeling has come
- 11:35full circle in the African American community, and you're killing the game because I've
- 11:41seen a lot of your pictures. I've seen you walk that catboard, I've
- 11:45seen I've seen a lot. How accepted is the modeling industry for African Americans
- 11:50in places like Paris, like Milan and in Germany. Well, I will
- 11:56know next year. I've got accepted to Paris Fashion Week, I'm going to
- 12:01apply to London. London will be in September, and Mulne is close to
- 12:07One of my friends told me. They was like, Milan is close though,
- 12:09like you can hit London and you can hit Milan at the same time.
- 12:13And I didn't even I'm not knowledgeable about geography, so I did not
- 12:16know that. But she pulled it up on a map and I was like,
- 12:18I can knock two birds out with one stone, that being oh my
- 12:22god, like you know, Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, that's
- 12:28huge. So I remember sitting on my bed, I was by myself,
- 12:35and before I sat down in that bed, he said Paris Fashion Week.
- 12:37I said, if you're telling me that you're sending me, then you're making
- 12:41the way. You gave me the provision, You're gonna make the way.
- 12:43And that's all I'm say because I don't even want that's so big, and
- 12:50so I'm excited to even see what's going on, the outfits, the atmosphere.
- 13:00I won't have to let you know, you don't have to get me
- 13:01back on the show, so that you know I will. We ever got
- 13:05to ask, you know, I will as soon as that rose I was
- 13:09for you. Now, look have you done that? You do New York
- 13:11Fashion Week? Ant? Yes, I've done two seasons of New York Fashion
- 13:16Week? Bananas when I tell you that when I first got accepted, And
- 13:22to know that this man also had looked at this producer had also watched my
- 13:26page and told me, I see what you're doing for the community. I
- 13:31see what you're doing with the young people. Keep it up. That blew
- 13:35my mind because he's over there and he travels like he vacations in Paris.
- 13:39Girl, that type of gold thing. And for him to say that to
- 13:43me, that was bananas. And so I got there. He had chosen
- 13:50my models. I've got models that will still walk for me every season after
- 13:54meeting me, after my styling them. And I'm talking about even to I've
- 14:00got some babies, like I've got some ten year olds. I got some
- 14:01eleven year olds, and they'll tell their parents because they can walk in more
- 14:05than one show, some people up to like four shows. I definitely want
- 14:09to talk to you about the babies and the younger people you have Latanya here,
- 14:11who was saying that she loves your hairstyles, she loves your hand you
- 14:18know what I'm saying. I'm not one of those salad eating chicks. Yes,
- 14:22how is it for a plus sized model to be in New York Fastion
- 14:28Week and also over in Milan? Because I know at one time over in
- 14:31Paris you had to be tweaky thin. Now, what is it like over
- 14:35there now? Because I've seen some plus size models, but not necessarily over
- 14:37there. It is they are killing the game. They even now, I
- 14:43didn't read the whole flyer. I just saw casting call, Okay. I
- 14:46reached out and the person was like, and I'm laughing, like hilarious,
- 14:50baby, you too little. This is for curvy women, you are,
- 14:54And I bust that laugh and I said, I'm so sorry I didn't read
- 14:56the whole flyar. But no, baby, they are busting open the doors.
- 15:01They are killing the runway, and they are even having their own even
- 15:05in the model I mean in the pageant circuit. The pageantry circuit, they've
- 15:09got their own Miss Curvy division where you have to be a certain size to
- 15:13even And I'm talking about they're with the tiaras, with the gowns that hit
- 15:18the floor out there strutting their stuff. They are a force to be reckoned
- 15:24with. And I believe that once that door became open to them, something
- 15:28that they hadn't even seen, the thought could be done. They was like,
- 15:31no, you didn't, and they kicked the door down. So now
- 15:35when I tell you that they are giving the skinny girls a run for their
- 15:39money, they are doing it like I'm so proud, so that when they
- 15:45come to tell mind, because I've got Pecuiar Princess boutique as well styling the
- 15:48models, and they'll come over, do you have something my size? I
- 15:50said, baby Bee, yes I do, and to dress them and they
- 15:54be like, oh my god. You made me feel so good because a
- 15:58lot of people that I'll go to they'll be like, oh, well have
- 16:00your size. We don't go up to your size. I said, no,
- 16:03I carry all sizes because I want the whole rainbow, I want the
- 16:07whole flow. I want that whole attitude. I want everybody to see everything
- 16:11from children to adults, so that they can see that there's no limit to
- 16:15what peculiar princess will do. I'm just so proud to hear that because you
- 16:22don't see too many people doing it. Now, somebody here the Crew podcast,
- 16:27which is part of what I'm a part of. They're saying that you're
- 16:30from Anderson, South, and she's so proud of you, so happy for
- 16:38you. You're a duer. What would you say is your most important quality
- 16:42for success? Oh my god, if you don't be consistent? There are
- 16:48days when listen like I even I don't want to get out of the bed.
- 16:51I'm telling you, I don't want to get out of the bed.
- 16:56But me, I have a list every day of to do list, even
- 17:00if on that list is to do nothing. Okay, so even when I
- 17:03do nothing, I get up and doing that was crazy, but it's so
- 17:06true. I won't lay there and do nothing. I will get up and
- 17:08do nothing and sit in that chair and I don't look cute because I don't.
- 17:12I'll still be in my pajamas, but I'll get up to do nothing.
- 17:17I never even realized that until I just said that. So consistency I
- 17:22have. I have goals every day every day. I have the goals.
- 17:27And that's why I was telling you. Would you say that you're controversial,
- 17:32Yes, I am. I don't I don't intend to be. I don't
- 17:37set out to be. You want everybody to to you know, they're not
- 17:41gonna yes you, but you you do want so much agreement. I don't
- 17:44get a lot of that. I get a lot of people that come to
- 17:45me. Most of them come in the inbox. They don't come on the
- 17:48uh timeline. But I stay in tenth toal damn what they say I stand
- 17:53on business, I don't. It doesn't You can't sway me. You used
- 17:57to be able to. But then when I I feel like my voice wasn't
- 18:00heard, I felt like I had to speak up. I had to step
- 18:03up, I had to show up. So now you can say it,
- 18:07but it's not gonna sway me. I almost said, I'm just saying,
- 18:11hey, let's go BBW S. So tell me. Do you know what
- 18:14BWS sends for? Is it big black body women? Is that big body
- 18:22women? I think I know there's an s big bold women something. I
- 18:27don't know what it is, but whatever it is, it got the word
- 18:30bigger than I'm all for it. I'm all for it, so I don't
- 18:33care what the rest of it says. I'm all for it. Alma.
- 18:37I like that. I like that. Now I see that. Of course
- 18:40you said you can't be controversial with sometimes what is your pet peeve? Oh
- 18:45my god, I don't know how to say it in one word, but
- 18:49this is what I get. I'm a doer. If I see it needs
- 18:53to be done and I can do it, I'm gonna do it. It's
- 18:56people that see it stuff that need to be done, but they'll bring it
- 18:59to me. Why if he spoke to you about why you bringing it to
- 19:04me? I've got a whole lot on my plate. I'm talking about I
- 19:07got a meet in three big beautiful women's slave. Okay, bad, that's
- 19:11back. So I have a lot of people that see that I do,
- 19:15and so they will bring me there. And there's nothing wrong with bringing me
- 19:21your vision if you want me to come alongside, if if you've invested in
- 19:25me, even in showing up to a show or something like that. But
- 19:29most of the people I get, they haven't shown up to anything, not
- 19:33even sharing a post, and they want me to put their vision together so
- 19:38that they can carry it out, like they want me to put their clothes
- 19:41on. I address myself. I can style you, but if that's not
- 19:45part of my purpose, then I can so a lot of people want to
- 19:48pimp your gift. It irritates me, but I don't know what that's called.
- 19:53You just called it. You called it out there, you said pimp
- 19:56your gifts, so then you just called it. So. You're also an
- 20:00author your book therapy title Therapy. You once said this book was written during
- 20:07your healing process and that you held onto so many things for years and it
- 20:11was causing you to suffer in your daily living. Are you healed now and
- 20:15if so, how were you delivered? Listen, listen. You know there
- 20:22was a time when black people said, depress yourself into that kitchen. You
- 20:27ain't the prayer. You know what I'm saying. The church, well,
- 20:32go and get prayered. So they weren't helping you through anything. They were
- 20:36dummy diagnosing you, and that didn't help. One. I had issues with
- 20:41my mom, okay, but I didn't know my mom's story until after.
- 20:45And y'all gonna be shocked. But don't be shocked. I mean, this
- 20:48happens, but it just most people don't see this. I punched my mom
- 20:51in the face and went to jail. We were having issues. It came
- 20:56to a head and exploded. I did hit her. I was wrong I'm
- 21:00not saying that I was not. I'm saying that when they took me to
- 21:03jail and I sat in that holding cell, I said, all the years
- 21:08of you trying to get your mom to love you, and not that she
- 21:11didn't love me, but in the way that you know, we look for
- 21:14a certain way, We have our own love language. You will not be
- 21:18trying to get anybody else to like you. You will not be people pleasing
- 21:23any longer. When you get out this joint, it's going to be about
- 21:27you, and you are not going to be triggered by everything. You are
- 21:33going to not be reacting to something that somebody says, who didn't do anything
- 21:37to you, but because it took you back to a place, you set
- 21:40something out of pocket. And you were going to write this book, which
- 21:42I had written before when my son was in elementary school, and then after
- 21:48I got through, I deleted the entire book because I put stuff in there
- 21:52that I didn't tell anybody. So therapy was named because every day I figutive
- 22:00le laid down on the counch and I was both the therapist and I was
- 22:07the client, the patient, and I labeled them like one misunderstood my lessation
- 22:15like I named it, and then whatever puss I pushed out of that wound,
- 22:22that's what I put on paper. Wow, So finally I finished it
- 22:27like it's got stuff in there, like my dad is my second cousin,
- 22:33which means he's my mom's first cousin. And I believe that that had some
- 22:37of the issue of why that she had an issue with me, because that's
- 22:40family within family. It happened. I knew who my dad was, even
- 22:45at a young age, will actually treat my the dad that raised me as
- 22:48his own badly. Sometimes when I was miserable, it wasn't even him that
- 22:53reacting. Loved that man, He's God, No love that man. So
- 23:00it was stuff like that that I put in that book, and I told
- 23:03my mom. We talked about it after I got out of jail. We
- 23:04sat down, talked she went through hell, but like we didn't know that
- 23:10until we sat down and spoke, had a conversation, and I said,
- 23:14you should have been wrote the book say that people don't know other people's stories
- 23:19and they just go for it. So after writing this, you mentioned you
- 23:22could see so much more clearly and that you are a different individual because of
- 23:26the situation. You also stated that you verbally. I don't like using the
- 23:33words. I'll say, Well, let's say that you there was an eruption
- 23:36of fluid from your stomach onto paper. What did you mean by that?
- 23:41All the hurt came up, all the ugly came up, all the wounds
- 23:45came up. I bled in the book. It was massy. That book
- 23:48is not cute. My god, that book is not cute. That book
- 23:52is is not happy. That book was coming from being a mental, physical,
- 24:02emotional wreck and standing like a palm tree at the end where I might
- 24:07be in but I'm not gonna break. It started out with somebody like coming
- 24:12out of you. I got set free in jail. I got set free
- 24:17in a holding cell, talking to myself. We're not gonna keep going through
- 24:19these cycles. Forty eight years old and still not healed from childhood. We're
- 24:26not doing that no more. Got that off me. Sent that I felt
- 24:32like it was, you know how you gods up a wound. I felt
- 24:34like that's what it was. Sent it to the publisher. The publisher said,
- 24:40I read that book. I sat it down and went and talked to
- 24:42my mom. Found out some things about my mom because me and my mom
- 24:45was having issues. Another lady read the book, called me crying. I
- 24:49can't finish it. I can't finish it. It's some things I can relate
- 24:53to, I said, put the book down. I said process. I
- 24:56said, you don't have to finish the book. I said, I said,
- 25:00I lived it. I know what you're saying. Another girl, I
- 25:02gotta meet you because it was like you wrote my story. I want all
- 25:06the people. So many people don't know that their mother, their parents,
- 25:12father to or whoever raised them, they have a backstory as well. And
- 25:17sometimes we take it for granted because we're looking at the surface and we're saying,
- 25:19no, you didn't go through nothing, because you don't think that they
- 25:22would have. But they do go through things too, you know they do.
- 25:26You have Alma here saying throw some all on me. Now your he
- 25:32go ahead, Alma, you up and fort tonight, like what? And
- 25:38she's definitely so what you say that your childhood shaped your adulthood? It does?
- 25:45You know that script that says all things work together for the good of
- 25:47those them the love Lord? What When I first read Now, when I
- 25:51first got saved, I didn't have the teaching that I do now. I
- 25:56didn't have the mentorship that I do now, so on our hell broke loose.
- 25:59I was like, I'm doing something right. Listen. Everything in my
- 26:03childhood, from the rejection, from the being bullied, made me stand no
- 26:07matter what. It made me be able to take that being controversial. I
- 26:14didn't know all that stuff was gonna work for me. There was no way
- 26:17I would be able to say what I say and stand on it. That
- 26:21bullying back in school had me standing to whether gone, y'all don't like me,
- 26:23but I'm gonna have to like myself. You know what I'm saying after
- 26:26so many years of trying to get them to accent me and wasn't fitting in
- 26:29even when I was trying to fit in. Look stupid trying to fit in
- 26:32Because I didn't fit in. I stood out. So I do, I
- 26:36say, I don't. I don't think back to my childhood fondly. It
- 26:41was so much that went on that I felt like God did not love me.
- 26:45I said, there's no way that you can love me and me endure
- 26:49the molestation, the bullying, all the things that I went. There's no
- 26:53way, Like, where are you when people telling me that you love me?
- 26:59But I'm not seeing he ain't that, not realizing that, oh my
- 27:02god, the story that was that had been written because this was before the
- 27:04foundation. Now it's beautiful. Now the physical I'm still waiting for this physical
- 27:11line up with the spiritual. Spiritually, I what's that song that Tasha and
- 27:17Nikki are seeing things that I have never seen? Every day I get up
- 27:22in anticipation and expectation because I know that he gonna show himself in some shape
- 27:30form of fashion on this day, to where I remember reading a verse that
- 27:34said the life of the believer is adventurous and I was saying there like,
- 27:40no, it's not. No, it's not, lady, I don't know
- 27:42what you because it was Gloria Copeland and I was like, no, it's
- 27:45not, yes it is. I can't put into words what I have experienced
- 27:53since the let go, the I relinquished control. I'm gonna let you,
- 28:00and the places that I've been in in spirit and in the natural, I
- 28:06wouldn't trade that for nothing. So what do go? What do you think
- 28:11people misunderstand you? What do you think people misunderstand you? More for people?
- 28:19Do you do people misunderstand you? What do you think that they misunderstand
- 28:23about you? But I don't know what the reason is. I don't know.
- 28:29I wouldn't know how to answer that, because a lot of times I
- 28:32want to know myself because I show up as me. I can't be nobody
- 28:37but me. I try that, And so it's not that I expect everybody
- 28:42to hear he ha. But it's sometimes while I'm sitting there, like have
- 28:48I done something? And it's not. It's not that I've done anything.
- 28:52I don't know where the misunderstanding comes in. And back in the day that
- 28:56that used to bother me, like they used to tear me up, Like
- 28:59I used to want to, hey, you know what's going on. It
- 29:00seems to be some but no, he had to let me see, it's
- 29:04about you, but not about you. You got to realize that sometimes you're
- 29:07gonna walk a rom ca. You know. I'm working on something. And
- 29:15one of those, one of the questions that I had for someone else was
- 29:18the same thing about misunderstanding. And what I come to find that a lot
- 29:22of misunderstanding comes from communication, and sometimes communication you don't even have to say
- 29:26a word. You can just merely exist. You can merely exist, and
- 29:30some people just misunderstand you without communicating. Because I could be just saying I'm
- 29:33standing at the bus stop and you're there and I don't know you at all.
- 29:37You know, my it's perception again. It rose right back to it.
- 29:41You know, I can just look at somebody or and I shouldn't.
- 29:45But this is what happens. We're all walking where I can misunderstand this person,
- 29:51you know, and the minute they open their mouth, it's a totally
- 29:53different thing. I've been in many situations where a person who misunderstands me,
- 30:00I know, grown up. One person would say that you seem to be
- 30:02so mean all the time. But then when they started talking to me and
- 30:03we got into a conversation, totally different thing. You have no idea what
- 30:07my morning was like, especially when you're raising kids. You had a rough
- 30:11morning. You're trying to get them, are I They looked that way,
- 30:15but try telling with kids early in the morning and you're trying to get to
- 30:18work on school. So yeah, look in a certain way, but open
- 30:22your mouth and start talking to me. It's like, girl, please,
- 30:25we could be talking about anything and people say, you know, I misunderstood
- 30:29you, and that happened correct so many times, so many times. I
- 30:33like how you because one girl told me. One of my friends said,
- 30:38you're intimidating, and I said, what do you mean, I don't do
- 30:41anything. She was like, you don't have to. She was like,
- 30:44you step in a room, you know who you are, you wear your
- 30:45hair, you wear you want to, you dress the way you want to.
- 30:48She was like, that intimidates. Some people never even thought about it
- 30:52like that, because I'm just showing up, just showing up. So that's
- 30:56funny's the type of person because I've heard it come my way, and i
- 31:00take it as a compliment that I command a room when I come into a
- 31:03room, and I'm okay with that. I am totally okay with that,
- 31:07you know, because I know who I am and I'm not saying you don't
- 31:08know who you are. But I'm not standing in he worried about you.
- 31:12I'm not worried about you. I know why I'm in here, and I
- 31:15know what my purpose is for being in here, and we may have the
- 31:18same purpose, but we won't know that until we start getting into a conversation.
- 31:22So I'm okay with that, you know, And and other people should
- 31:25be. It's other people should be told. You know, we're gonna take
- 31:27a commercial break right now, we're gonna come right back and talk to the
- 31:30princess. I just can't wait to get into this next conversation with you.
- 31:34So let's say, okay, we are back with the Peculiar Princess. Before
- 32:15we shift gears, I have something I want to ask you. Do you
- 32:20have a comedy special? Who? Please tell me who is Lucille? I
- 32:25viewed one of your rials and you spoke briefly about Lucille. Who is she?
- 32:30No black diamond? Listen, I do that everybody come on my show.
- 32:36I look at the wheels. I look at them because I want to
- 32:37know who they are. I said, I have to answer who that is?
- 32:43Who is she? Remember? Okay, because see I do some of
- 32:45them real to promote, either like a designer, a model of small business
- 32:50or whatever. So with that one, I was promoting no excuses, who
- 32:54has phenomenal clothing, phenomenal designer? But no, you remember that song is
- 33:00old and he said, you took a fine time to leave me Lucill with
- 33:06four hungry children and the crop in the field. It's a song. So
- 33:08when I sat down, it just came to me, and so I just
- 33:13did that. And then when I got off I was like, you need
- 33:15help. Like I watched it and I crack up. But I this is
- 33:21a song and that's the only part I know is the part I sang like.
- 33:24I don't know the verses, but I remember that song when I was
- 33:30little. I don't know who sings it, but it is an actual song.
- 33:34And Lucille left that man and he told up, he is a fine
- 33:37time to leave me. He mad, but he that low key comad,
- 33:39which is scary. It's scarier than renting rab. I'm so glad you cleared
- 33:43that up for me, because as I was looking, I was like,
- 33:45what in the world, I said, that's that's a question I have to
- 33:49ask. Yes, please go look back at some of her reals because she's
- 33:54going off on You'll know why I'm asking who is Lucid. You'll want to
- 34:00know who she is. Well, now you know who she is, But
- 34:01now you need to go back and see why I asked that question. It
- 34:06was just on my mind. I just couldn't wait till I get to tonight.
- 34:07Yeah, that's what means, who steal it? Princess? Tell me
- 34:12about the Kingdom Ministry's Repromation Center any special Listen, don't nobody want to be
- 34:19no pastor. Do you know how hard it is? Like my sister used
- 34:22to be back in the day, something wrong with her, someth is wrong
- 34:24with her Sonny Maid, my sister, she didn't even go to church like
- 34:29we back in the day. She was like, when you get your church,
- 34:32And I said, one one I give my church. Well, we're
- 34:34gonna have just me and you like, we don't play no games when it
- 34:37comes to the kingdo woldn't play no games with God? She kept saying it.
- 34:42And so then I was asked a pastor like four years ago, and
- 34:46I talked to them. I said, okay, I'm a pray on it,
- 34:50even though I know I got to do it. And then I hung
- 34:52up with them and call my sister. I said, you did this to
- 34:54me. You did this to me, and you're gonna have to come on
- 34:59with me. And she was like, okay, well I'll let you know.
- 35:01But she's there, and she's this system pastor, and it's a training
- 35:05center. It's not a come in. Sing three songs, do the prayer,
- 35:09do the scripture, sing another song to the offering. Is you got
- 35:14your notebook? Do you have your physical Bible? Okay, do you know
- 35:16how to pray? Because I'm about to call on you to pray? All
- 35:20right, what in this scenario? You're coming to my house and you're witnessing
- 35:24to me. But I got a bad attitude, so I need to see
- 35:28what you're gonna do. No, they are trained and equipped, and they
- 35:31all praying. They've got to do five minute sermons, which is about to
- 35:34go to ten minute sermons. It says in my name, disciples shall speak
- 35:37in new tongues. They shall lay hands on the sick, and day shall
- 35:40recover. They shall take up serpence. That it don't say Pastor Stephanie is
- 35:45gonna be the only one in here and doing all that. No, I
- 35:46said, if you a disciple, then we're gonna go by the Bible.
- 35:50And a lot of people have told me to my faith. That's why I
- 35:52don't come, because I know I gotta work. They are being trained and
- 35:57equipped, and they've told me because I tell them, we're a body.
- 36:01Y'all talking about members and stuff, which is fine. I said, we're
- 36:05members of a body to where even if you're not Reformation center, and you
- 36:08might be all a body center, we still come together because for one body
- 36:14but in this body, you're gonna be trained. You're gonna recognize, you're
- 36:17gonna have a relationship with God. You're gonna recognize when the Holy spirits speaks
- 36:21to you, you are going to go forth in obedience because that's what your
- 36:24purpose is. So what it is, it's heaven School on earth because you're
- 36:30being trained to be who you really call to be in spite of what you've
- 36:35been taught that you gotta unlearn. So, yeah, what is your mission
- 36:39in life? My mission in life is to help people know who they are
- 36:44and what they can do so that they can live victoriously because they're not.
- 36:50Oh, how has played a role in your life? Faith is listen,
- 37:00listen. You can see what your physical eyes and look at something and it
- 37:05is what it is. But faith sees what's supposed to be and make that
- 37:08come to pass. The faith seeds those unseen and you see how it's supposed
- 37:15to be even while you're looking at how it really is. But no one
- 37:17that's gonna do the flip flop. That's gonna be as above so below that
- 37:22them tables gonna turn baby, and it's gonna look like what it's supposed to
- 37:24look like. Faith makes what's supposed to happen happen. For instance, Yes,
- 37:31what does obedience mean to you? Obedience means that whatever is spoken,
- 37:37if that is what you are called to do, then you walk in it.
- 37:40It means that you are being led by the spirit of God in the
- 37:45lane that you're supposed to be in. There's different lanes on the road.
- 37:50Someone for the slow, someone for the fastes, someone for them. That's
- 37:52just breaking the speed barrier. A lot of people like reformations in the needs
- 37:55to do this. I'll stop them. I will stop them. I will
- 37:58not let them finish. I will not let them for a period on it.
- 38:00He did not tell me to do that. My obedience looks different from
- 38:04your obedience, even though, like you said, we gonna be called to
- 38:07the same purpose. But it's gonna look different, it's gonna talk different,
- 38:09it's gonna smell different, we're gonna act different, even if we're doing the
- 38:13same thing. So I don't understand why people try to compete. Obedience is
- 38:16doing what you supposed to do as you So how important is belief? Belief
- 38:23is important because if you don't believe it, you're not gonna genuinely do it.
- 38:27I have people who say that they believe in something, but it doesn't
- 38:32line Your actions don't line up, which makes you look schizophrenic because you're saying
- 38:37one thing but you're doing another. If I believe that a chair is going
- 38:39to hold me, I'm going to immediately sit down in that chair. If
- 38:43I don't believe the chair is gonna hold my weight, either I'm not gonna
- 38:45sit in it, or I'm gonna sit in the real, real carefully to
- 38:49test the weight of the chair. What I say, what I believe is
- 38:52gonna come out my mouth, and my life is gonna line up. I'm
- 38:55not gonna be looking crazy. It looked like I got multiple personality disorder because
- 39:00some people say, well, I believe that this can happen, but nothing
- 39:05around them they're not shifted. If I believe that I am going to walk
- 39:08into a place of wealth which has been spoken, then I'm preparing for the
- 39:14wealth. Okay, I got my bank accounted. I'm over here. I
- 39:15need these financial classes. I need you to speak to me because I see
- 39:19that you know how to manage money. Can you give me a whole workshop
- 39:22because I'm about to walk into this wealth and I want the knowledge to keep
- 39:24it because I come from a place of poverty or sometime the only meal that
- 39:28we got was at school. I don't want to be in that mindset where
- 39:31I am poor. And that was prophesy to me at one time. You
- 39:36believe that you're not good enough. You believe everything will always be secondhand,
- 39:38and that's not to be so. Now that I believe different, I prepare
- 39:44different. When I believe that I was only getting second hand, I was
- 39:46comforted with second hand. I'm good. Can an individual have faith in doubts?
- 39:54Yes, Now, don't get it twisted. Y'all. Remember that man
- 39:58that he was in that by and they tried to cast that beamon out his
- 40:01son, and then they couldn't do it. And then here come Jesus,
- 40:05and Jesus said, do you believe that I can do this? And he
- 40:07was like, help my unbelief. I know you can do it. He
- 40:13told Jesus they couldn't do it. I'm coming to you now, okay,
- 40:16but do you would help my unbelief. There are times when it's like the
- 40:21faith and the doubts are in a battle. But no matter what I see,
- 40:25no matter what I hear, I'm gonna speak the word only so that
- 40:29I can prevail. That's one of my phrases. I will prevail, I
- 40:31shall prevail. So yeah, you can have that. But I'm telling you,
- 40:37the more you walk and the closer you get doubt, don't shall this
- 40:39laughliev So God will forgive you if you have doubts, will he walk you
- 40:45through them. He already knew before you step foot on dirt over him,
- 40:51what you was gonna go through, what you was gonna endure, what you
- 40:52was gonna think. And I tell people that they say, oh I did
- 40:55this. I said, he already knew and still loved you. He'll die
- 40:59for you, still waiting on you. Get up, repent and keep running.
- 41:02Don't stop, don't wallow in it, get up. So, yes,
- 41:07God he knows. They're sometimes that my son has talked to me.
- 41:10Well, I didn't even know if you could do this. Yeah, that's
- 41:13gonna sting. But baby, thank you for being honest. Yes, yes,
- 41:19you spoke briefly about your childhood and you know the book therapy and everything.
- 41:24Would you have ever thought as a child that you would have grown up
- 41:28to be a pastor? No, didn't want it, didn't want to be
- 41:32responsible for people, just let me take care of me because I wasn't doing
- 41:37that well. Oh my god, I wasn't doing that well. Still,
- 41:40we talked to him like, oh, yes, sure, you'll realize who
- 41:44you put there, right, And he was like, yes, I do
- 41:46realize who I put there, my daughter, my king, the son that's
- 41:52manifested in the earth. I just remind myself sometimes who I am, because
- 41:57that Stephanie back then didn't even think that she was worse to even be his
- 42:00child, much less be the shepherd over some of his people. So when
- 42:05were you called? Oh my god, it's been four it's been four years
- 42:09since, and I didn't want to do it. I didn't want to evangelize.
- 42:13I ran for a long time and so then I'll be into evangelize to
- 42:15where I had people asking me, why are you talking to them? I
- 42:20said, I evangelize. We talked to the unbeliever, what you mean four
- 42:27years ago when he started this journey, I did not want to accept it.
- 42:30Then, That's what I tell people. Everybody jumps around with the joy
- 42:34and stuff. I'm not saying that I'm not good in what I do.
- 42:37So when you were called, oh, to me, it's a weight,
- 42:45but it's a good way. I don't know if any of you have ever
- 42:47experienced a waited blanket, Like you get up under that blanket and you feel
- 42:52it and like you know, it's heavy, but you warm and you comfortable
- 42:58because it's not me. I can't do this. I wouldn't have tried this.
- 43:02And he makes he makes me look real good. He makes it look
- 43:07real easy because I just give it all. But I don't. I didn't.
- 43:12I did not, Black Diamond. I could have done without this right
- 43:15here. That's a lot. Well, he chose you for a reason,
- 43:20you know, and in every season, he chose you for a reason.
- 43:23So and I'm so glad that he did. And you know, I first
- 43:28learned about you about a year ago when we did an event for Angela.
- 43:32Yes, and that's when we were on there together and I heard you speak.
- 43:37And when I started doing a podcast, I said, she's gonna be
- 43:38on my show. She gonna be on my show. I remember that because
- 43:45when I was preparing, I was getting ready, I said, I still
- 43:47remember that, like it was like it was my sister calls it vomit.
- 43:52She just has me. She's like, you got diarrhea, but buy diarrhea.
- 43:57She was like you just open your mouth and he just flows out,
- 44:00which it is when I do those Facebook lives, like I be nervous before
- 44:04I get owned. Then I push that button in the countdown. I have
- 44:07to go back and look at the live to even see what was said,
- 44:12because I'm like, this is what you want. I need you to show
- 44:15up. When you said a lot that day and I truly remember, I
- 44:19can't remember it for abatim, but I should go, Oh my god,
- 44:21this woman is a little powerhouse. You added an author, published poet,
- 44:27comedian, publisher, minister, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and award winning published
- 44:36model to your resume. What would you say are some of your most valuable
- 44:39skills with that? I'm gonna say like flexibility. I will show up and
- 44:52be expected to I don't know how you not accommodate. You were coming this,
- 45:00have to do one thing and then they'll either switch you or add something
- 45:02to what you're asked to do. I know, like I said, I
- 45:07know, and so you got to be able to be like I said,
- 45:09Ben and not break to be able to be Okay, I came here tomorrow,
- 45:13but they're also asking you over here to pray or they're also gonna want
- 45:15you to say a poem over here. It's flexible because back in the day,
- 45:22I used to be like, I ain't here for that. No,
- 45:23you asked me to do a poem. That's all I'm gonna do. You
- 45:25know what I'm saying. And so now I realize that God puts you in
- 45:29places and then the floodgates open like his him. So being flexible that I've
- 45:36gotten more accepting. I guess. So you've worked through so many projects.
- 45:40What is the most exciting project you've worked on? To me, it was
- 45:45that book Therapy. Yes, because it set me free. Yeah. I
- 45:52was about to ask you what made it so special. You said it that
- 45:54it set you free, because me out to walk around in isn't when you're
- 46:00not in prison. It's the people walking around. We're free, Like we're
- 46:04not in jail. Physically we're not. They're not behind bars, but we're
- 46:08prisoners. We're prisoners of our thoughts, of our childhood, of our fears.
- 46:15Fear is a fear has so many people not moving at all. Their
- 46:20lits some moving, they're speaking, but they're not moving. I tell them
- 46:24do it anyway. Therapy set me free. I got all that stuff off
- 46:29me, and then I took off like an ego in the sky. Now
- 46:37I know you've you've been doing all of that. I don't even know where
- 46:38You're even gonna squeeze anymore time. And but what are you working on now?
- 46:43I have already written a thirty one day devotional and then a journal that
- 46:49I don't know when I'm gonna be able to put that out, already working
- 46:51on some music already got to be in the words and all that. And
- 46:55you sound like me, because that's what I said. I said, we
- 46:58adding stuff to what we are really doing. So yeah, and then like
- 47:02I said, with the parents and with the pageantry, like I have people
- 47:07in the inbox asking are you doing this? Are you doing this? Are
- 47:09you doing this? You do this? And I'm like, I can't do
- 47:12this. And one young lady, I love her, she's a teenager.
- 47:15She's putting on her own show in March, and she was like, Stephanie,
- 47:21are you able to come to this? I said I cannot. She
- 47:23said can you send your clothes? Though? And I just laugh. I
- 47:28loved it because you make an impression where even if you can't be there,
- 47:31they want your garments. They want your brand. And this was a child.
- 47:37She's like, she's a teenager, but she's a child, and I
- 47:40impacted her of love that she like, well, can we have some of
- 47:44your clothes? So that yeah, that right there. Well I've seen some
- 47:49of your stuff and I'm gonna come your way to get me maybe a size.
