- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Dear son, just because you could, doesn't mean you should.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_02]: Just because you could, doesn't mean you should.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's her.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_02]: Old, the depth of story is there.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: Go, step the story.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I was the story of my life from about 98 and a half, hmm, no, 98 early.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: Not, not, 97-fold.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: 97-fold.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: Five minutes.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: And the 97-fold drop in 1997, it just run 97-fold.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: Just about 2001, I was making the bunch of decisions that I had access to and I could because I had a degree of freedom.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: And that's, that is a constant theme on my mind with my oldest, what my oldest children period?
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely my oldest daughter, my oldest son.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, uh, my second old's daughter is not here.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_02]: So she has the benefit of, uh, whatever, why are she, is wiling, which I, to my knowledge.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_02]: What, what do I don't have it with?
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: Well, whatever, whatever life she's living, the, uh, those decisions don't impact the house, but unless she's here on the weekends, um, so it's,
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's the watching and in certain, yeah, when I see something, okay, it's just a lesson that we're going to discuss, is this the lesson I'm going to remind the book, because we are discussed it, or is this a fair time to wait for the consequence, because it's two different things.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's all related, yeah.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: and we live.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Dear Sun Show where we have meaningful conversations about life through the lens of fatherhood.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's for fathers those with fathers and the fatherless, so nobody's left out.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: These are the conversations we want our sons to access as they grow through life into manhood.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: So no topics off limits.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm wanting to get one of your host, J.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: Black.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: These are the hosts.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: I got the tongue tied more than I'm anxious, but I got a high topic I want to talk about.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I can't get it out faster.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: I feel this more than I think.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: Say the double is alive.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I feel good.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: Good.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's not just worse.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: Not a J.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: Black good, but a real good.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a J.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: Black good, with J.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: Black is really good.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, good.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: Amen.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: I take that.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: I take that.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: How are you feeling?
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm feeling good, man.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: Last conversation we had was therapeutic for me, and that's the last episode where I'll depend on when it's run, but I'm certain the pace we all know, certain when they see this episode, they'll see it.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: So somewhere between 200 and that's
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's a change, very therapeutic for me, right?
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I got a lot of stuff out, um, the value of good friendship, yeah, because I was able to vent some things that perhaps, um, won't make it to, to public space, but maybe, you know, after we make that 300 million, and they do the documentary, and then they start doing the outtakes, and then the story lines come out.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they'll see you then.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then only then, man.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: Had a win this week, come on, did I know uh, I'm talking about you.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm talking about you.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, episode two episode two Loan of uh, helped me almost die the jake black store.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if you're not a tap then I forgive you this time Next time this year though next time you should know uh on the channel the documentary series uh As reference to jake black store.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, we got some news there, man.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: I we have goals
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: and milestones along the road.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: And we checked one of them.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: We checked one.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going right to the sea.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's all I'm gonna tell you about.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: You go check in and see what it is.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: But we also want to do a like share and subscribe at the top of the show.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: But we want to also discuss merch there with the audience.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: The dear sunshop.store.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: The dear sunshop.store.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: If you're listening, get us in the description.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: If you're watching, you just saw a flash cross screen.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: That is the website that is a voice sustainable approach that has more options for film it is better orders are coming in I did remove the shop function from the dear some podcast calm but there is a link to the store and it's prominent.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: So, if you went to the website before the DSMPIcast.com and you saw merch page there, that page is no longer active.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: There is a link at the very top of the website that you just click and it'll take you to the store.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: And you get your merch, man.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: Follow us upon us.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: Is here.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_02]: Follow us by none.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you all like to swat a look?
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: Swat will see you see this line of hoodies by the pop-body about Mary.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it's going to go see the line.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it's going to go see the line.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it's going to go see the line.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it's going to go see the line.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it's going to go see the line.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it's going to go see the line.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like it.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like it.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like it.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like it.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like it.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like it.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like it.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like it.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like it.
- 5:13[UNKNOWN]: It sounds like it.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: night, no, 97 full.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: 97.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I'm gonna say 97.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna drop 97 and just run 97.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: Just about 2001, I was making the bunch of decisions that I had access to and I could because I had a degree of freedom.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: And that's
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: that is a constant theme on my mind with my oldest.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_02]: What are my older children periods?
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely my oldest daughter, my oldest son.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: My second oldest daughter is not here.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: So she has the benefit of whatever while she is smiling, which I, to my knowledge.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: Woodward though, whatever life she live in, those are such a don't impact the house, but unless she's here on the weekends.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: So it's,
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's the watching and in certain day when I see something, okay, it's just a lesson that we're going to discuss, is this the lesson I'm going to remind them of, because we are discussed it, or is this a, is it a fair time to wait for the consequence, does it's two different things, it's all related.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: uh... went in and that which is why i'm trying to remove that internet and make you you know in reality uh...
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of AI and assistance out there these days with education, with class work, and it brought it to my attention because y'all noticed my last semester school, like I graduated in December.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, I'm sitting in class, like a true old hit, looking around at my peers,
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: The professors, they don't, they like, hey, some do the role things, some don't those who do not.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: If you look around in the audience without regard to the professor, you wouldn't know that you're in a classroom.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: They tap and then drum and hear, yeah, you hear what I see, man.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I just put this on my mind, and then I'm genuinely concerned about this generation's leaning so heavily on AI because I watched a young man, he was in a course with me.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: Every day he came in, he put headphones on in class, tap tap tapping on his iPad.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: No, take it.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, because I look, because I was curious.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, he's not, he does, you know, look up the man's talking.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: He don't look up.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like, I'm worried.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm genuinely really concerned about the young man like brother, you've been a waste of time and breath.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: I've been here, man.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: I got the T-shirt.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, man.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: Put your head up and it's not my business, though.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: So the end with that what he's doing is,
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: The AI just catches everything that the professor is saying and throwing it in the system form, but he's not.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: So they have a policy.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: They're trying to assist with the behavior but outsmart it as well because they'll say, hey, exams coming up.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: You can bring in a legal cheat sheet.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: But it must be handwritten.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: What the students don't realize is as I'm writing this data to try to squeeze it on the cheat sheet, I'm an essence studying because I'm that may be the first time I'm looking at it, it's a it's a faint, it's a variant.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: I dare not say you studied, but at least now you've been exposed to the material let me put it that way to have to write it on the page.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: But if you just click paste drop condensed to a page, I promise you you didn't read any of that.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: You just lag it.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: He said just only just only just only here.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: And just because you can sit back and check out and not listen to a word coming out of the professor's mouth because AI is transcribing and you're teaching AI.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: AI has going to be brilliant because AI is now in class.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: You just paid all the distribution to educate AI.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: that is a, and assist to laziness, like cliff notes have always been around.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's always a version of doing less of a thing, expecting more of a thing, or expecting a greater result than doing what's actually required for it.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know that AI,
- 10:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how much AI facilitates that laziness so much as the structure of the education system.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like, is the, is the, is the, is the, like, I was good at regurgitating.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_02]: I was good at learning.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: I also knew what teachers required, which, which version of, of me, to be successful.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, right?
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: So until,
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: writing the book report for a book I didn't read the night before it's due until it didn't work.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm running it.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's value to me.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: If it's, if it's a flash card, remember the fact long enough to put it down on the test.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: Cool.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: So my challenge is more so what is the education?
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: What is the grade actually measuring that will kind of dictate the behavior required to get it?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: My daughter's going through, she's on the medical track, yes.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_02]: And it's live.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: That's the look.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's the look.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I could see using AI to organize and help you help guide the studies.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: But there's,
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't experienced it, right?
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: But in my mind, that's a feel that it'd be a little difficult to kind of, and I don't know, maybe I'm just projecting that from the conversations with her, I'm like, ooh, yeah, my method wouldn't have worked for that.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like you got to understand the concept, understand the concept, and then you got to bring it together to solve a scenario that wasn't presented before.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: But you've been given the information in places.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's a pull it all together.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, it is that I don't know if the AI is making students more lazy than the teachers.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: Because the teachers are also leaning on their TA's and the system.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: Or like what is the presentation?
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: Because
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: is it pick from a list of things that one significantly jumps out like it will like, what is the right?
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: What's the ask?
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: The adjustments are happening in real time.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's the weird thing about I say weird, but it's it's like just like you can even see it on on on the news and the media's that now it's like hey, I think we kind of Overstepped our boundaries with this thing.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: Let's let's back up and that thing is kind of like no, no, no, we hear now without you which goes like you said what version of me is demanded per professor.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: I can get away with scheming through this book tonight before dump truck method tomorrow and past six is a past the exam however this is my field let's say this is my field course and I'm passing I'm even gonna graduate
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: Can I perform the duties associated with that degree or that training?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: And if I can't, I just wasted time and money.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: Can I manipulate the system and use this piece of paper to get my foot in certain doors?
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: But now, I'm on the job.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm afraid of
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: asking the necessary questions because I know I kind of for enabled my way into this position and perhaps if I have the sense to know, you don't know what you told these people, you know, you don't know what you think, you know even.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: So now they present a task.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: Any questions?
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now's the time to seek clarity.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: but you're so cloudy that that very clarity that you seek may show your hand.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's like saying, hey, I'm a calculus professor.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: I did this before.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: I did this before.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: And they get to talk in derivatives to you.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: And imagine you say, any questions?
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that word you use.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: These derivatives.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, they're derivatives, dude.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: What is that in the mail?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, man, you.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go have a conversation.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: lived experience, man, when I was a hiring manager, I didn't like the interview process because people give you a version of what they think works.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: within my field.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: I can talk to you about what it is to be in my field that's a resume.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_02]: Like I can I can separate you from your resume real quick.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I actually had towards the end um like the emerging.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: I guess that would have been good.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I guess that would have been
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: the entitlement.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: I started to see that.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, boy.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh, boy.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: Because you went to MIT, because you went to this place at that place, they would actually respond to me as my resume suggests.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't need to jump.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: As your resume suggests, right, I saw your resume.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's why I'm asking you this.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm asking you a question that you have to form and answer that shows me
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: There's a degree of likelihood that you can adjust, right?
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: Because there's the schools of thought of, well, I just want to blank slate.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll train you how to work in my company, right?
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: And then there's the, I am educated in this field.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I have the book's marks.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: And that's great for reference.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_02]: But a lot of times,
- 15:59[SPEAKER_02]: there's a dance right of where books marks meets real life situations and how you have to know the whole book.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: Not just the chapter that you put on your resume.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_02]: You got to know a few books to piece that thing together.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, I get it, but I like to say
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: I want my son, I want my children to recognize the version required for them.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: If they decide to have multiple versions of, because I think it exists.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think it exists, like if...
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: But I spoke about one episode that you referenced was me over indexing effort, creating a reputation that far exceeded what was necessary.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: And now I got to live up to that.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: And that's my, that's my greed.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's the bar.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: I know I personally know a an entrepreneur and this entrepreneur.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: However, however, outside looking in, there are missing fundamentals, meaning across the board, there's a standard that should be met.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm trying to be loyal to a couple.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: I see two of your words.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to be loyal to a cause, but it's difficult because if I'm in a space of I'm paying for a service, I'm expecting a certain level of professionalism and accountability.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: 9 to 5 is 945 and you're not here, I'm frustrated because I've structured myself to be here at 850 to kiss that 9.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: And here we are at 945, kiss what I don't want to hear in a time.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to hear anything, but nine o'clock because I can't get that 45 minutes back.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: I witnessed a guy having a full crash out with a gentleman because he had an appointment to be at an establishment at, let's say, 12 o'clock.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the schedule got off track.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: So now the establishment is catching up.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I guess there should have been I'm not guess, but there should have been some communication.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: Hey.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: You're right.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: You're one of my patrons that come here frequently.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: So I kind of know this be your lunch break when you come here.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: I need to communicate that.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, hey, hey, hey, I'm hour off right now.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I know you got this schedule for toil.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: you want to bump it, you want to reschedule, you want to push up or what you need me to do to meet you in my short comment here.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't happen.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: So just because you could, I'm the owner, I'm here, I get it when I get here.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, just because you can do that doesn't mean you should do that because now
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: how much tolerance does the receiving party, if you will, the client, the customer, whoever the onlooker, how much the, how much patience do they have with that?
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: How accepting are they going to be?
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: because the love of whatever you're providing on the takes them so far.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: Are you?
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: Only takes you so far as well.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: So, sure.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: I could lay here to Tinnoclock, and then go jump in that thing if I want to.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: But if it's mine, why I'm not there in seven?
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: Getting that thing off the ground, ready for the day.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: I pay my dues to be in a certain space that my staff or my people or my facility is on autopilot at this point.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: If that entity needs me there at that hour, then the people that are there aren't doing what I need of them.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's not necessarily true.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: or just because you can, or maybe it is, even the flip side of that, like I respect the having earned the right to a lifestyle, the way of business, an earning potential, a selective clientele, I get all of that.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: My field on the other side of that is since AI was brought
- 21:24[SPEAKER_02]: the generation because it's not just a specific generation that that's being impacted by this right is the loss of the need to earn your way to a place.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: It seemed like the playing field is
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: and all things that are levels.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_02]: I love that the playing field in terms of barriers the entry being removed to get into a space.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: But if you no longer have to earn your way to a particular respect level or a freedom to to operate how you want to operate,
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: That's the part that scares me as you, you know what I'm saying?
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like yeah, it's the like a light example, my son is like, hey, you got to be working nine.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: And you come down and say it's a 50.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: And a perfect world, you can get to work in four minutes, not speed.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying to solve proximity to people, this is not like you got to drive an hour work, but it's the
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing in your life has presented to you.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: Challenges in a way that you don't believe that are you believe that everything can be left to change without fail.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Everything can be let it like, yeah, it's going, it's going to happen.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going outside in the car going to start.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to the fact that you can't get the work in four minutes.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it doesn't mean in all cases, it's going to be conditions for you to get the work
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: And again, until just like I said early until I couldn't get an A by doing the thing the night before Life got a handle got a handle some of that sometimes getting away with something is the worst thing ever Oh my god, no no sometimes sometimes not always I said often oh I thought I just said I'll wait I said always I was like when I wait now this is a few things go to the grave
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's not advice people, it's not it's not safe, it's not what you think it is, all it is, my business, the day you would have won the game right.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh man, we gotta go to Virginia, but listen, in real life, in real life, not that this night, but I reached out to my son another day.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: We were originally going to be a bad news this weekend.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: I almost didn't say it, but why not there?
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I'd like people to walk me some passive secret.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what's going to go to school in bad rules.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's you.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: We were supposed to go this weekend to the game.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the man say, Go need a pontoon.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: I doubt for those that don't know a pontoon.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's a water vessel.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: Supposed to rain really, really bad.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think we supposed to get it here as well.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm jumping.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: I can't sling flights and hotels and all of that.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I reach out to him.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, Hey, man, we're not, we're not going to make it this weekend because of the weather, but how you doing?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm good.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's cool.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's how I always say it.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: I've been on my son, he had this semester.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: I've ever two weeks, hate me, I was going on.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: What we got is going on in the class, which grades look like, quit his test, what we at, what we at, what we at.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I've been doing that so frequent, that I guarantee, I'm probably a trigger when my name or whatever may be a picture you have for this.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: pop up on the screen is probably like a source of come on man.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't want to be the source of crashing your mood, but I also don't care.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Because of my justification, my reason, the goal.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: What's that steak?
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: The history.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: The history.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: My history, yo history.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: What's that steak?
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: Even if you don't take the call on the text, it popping on the screen.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: I hope it triggers, let me go prove something.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: People got brought on with triggers.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: It prompts you, it prompts you, it motivates you.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: It motivates you, it nudges you even to go and get some feet in motion or something.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: Cause didn't say another word, didn't say, hey, what, what, what, what, what not?
- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: He probably blew an XE over here, but so I could have used that moment to go in about grades and checking.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: I could have, I let him make it.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: Not everything has to be so drive the nail into the wood.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: Relax sometimes.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, hey, man, it's just checking all of you, man.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want you to get this mixed up.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: My love for you succeeds this.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm letting it make it that.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: I got an admission.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: What's your guess?
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, just yesterday, just yesterday, I'm in a beer, bye.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: 930 on the grade 19 on the negotiator's schedule.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_02]: When the door opens, I wake up to the bedroom to the house.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the house door.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_02]: A long, oh, yeah, not that long goes off, but that's the time.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know, that's, that's a lot of goes off.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: So when I was at the time, that I was probably in, I probably in Oregon to leave.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I looked at my phone, and I made no to the time.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm annoyed because why is the door opening at this time?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: Who been out?
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: Who been out?
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: Who been out?
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: about an hour after that time, my son text me, I'm not going to work the day.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see it in real time, but I woke up.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: So net, exactly.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_02]: Running the streets, huh?
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm starting to piece together the story because I remember earlier that evening,
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: his room door was open which is only open when he's not there.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: And the light was on something like, oh, he must have slipped out.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: Cool.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: Cool.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: No problem.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: Rocking the rolling.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: So in my mind, that's the story.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: I chose not to address it.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: In my feelings.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: Because because now you out all night, you can't go to work.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: Oh,
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let it rock.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: Later that day, I see her.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, hey, I need to use the car.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: I got to, I got to interview you.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_02]: So now I'm backing off.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's it.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now, yeah, you got to down my store.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you didn't go to work because you had it.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, it's, you stayed out late, but you had to, you had an interview.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: Cool, cool, cool.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: You go to interview.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: I said nothing about it.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: Later on, me and Kisha are talking, and she's like, man, neither Donovan or on a guy sleep last night because Arnold was up to three o'clock in the morning doing his hair.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: Door open, he's in her room getting his head done.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: I got him in the streets.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Not even being reckless in the streets would just out.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you can't go to work because you've been out.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: None of it was true.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: See?
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: And honestly, he probably got his head done to go to the end of you.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: See?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: Lesson learned that.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: Lesson that we'd be so ready.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: The story's in my mind, be it.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: Be airtight.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I need to check on you now, much.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: Airtight until until the facts present themselves.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: So imagine.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yes to me.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: Unleash it with the first.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, oh, so next.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: So using sleep in all day because you're hanging out all night.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Only Only I'm I'm prepping my level to do this move that the door don't open.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but it wasn't because somebody was coming to they probably ordered.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, part of what some food part of some food because we we up doing our time.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: But listen listen
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: want to applaud you.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's that's amazing because you know if you know we be ready.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh look what we got here.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: But I'll see some some flashback with part two of the story.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: The default parent.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: We had an episode about the default
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: Talk to me guys.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody, somebody talked to me.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, she was up.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: She was upstairs, like when I, when I, when the current call here for me, yeah, tomorrow.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: Tap tap.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, because, because I certainly, the part of the team, I mean, not to take away from your point, but I'm saying in terms of that, like, they, they're up, yeah, I don't be up.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they already know when there's over, tomorrow, when there's over is over.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: Tomorrow, emergency is low, we gotta, we gotta, this is our, not yet, but yeah, it is.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: At the time, it's a time this drop is gonna be October.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: We have October, November, December.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: Cue for the actual Cue for all these posts in September.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: Man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we've we've mentioned a few times about a live.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: We will not let this year close out without another one, maybe perhaps two lives, but one for certain, um, just to update the audience.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: There's there's some big things coming up, um, the online store just made a shift.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: We have a one possibly two lives coming up.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: We have the health me almost died, there's a couple of deadlines coming up with that in this quarter.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: Also also into the year like like.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: No sense in waiting to the end of the year to talk about the end of the year.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be putting together some ideas for perhaps that'll be the second life.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like I say, when I say second, do one perhaps early November, then catch up a mid to late December, perhaps holiday themed or celebration themed close out year close out.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see because it'll be a
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: like they say in the culture man guy willing and the creek don't rise.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna rise.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a lot of stuff to celebrate there.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: So it wrapping up the episode and closing what you got for the people.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_02]: Before you close, I want to look at the flip side of just because you could, oh, don't mean you should.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: Is there anything in your should category that you shift into your cooler category?
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: meaning I typically would do it.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it should be done and hasn't been.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: But we letting it, we letting it slip into the, my health was the biggest thing with it.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like the biggest thing with that is my health and communication.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm actually, I'm shifting,
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: My position's on communication, because I went from what I felt was over communicating.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then I adjusted to what I convinced myself in my mind that I was oversharing.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, well, let me shut this down.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I did, but that was to my detriment in a sense.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: So now I went from oversharing to undersharing.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: So now we're shifting back, which is a valid point, glad you asked that.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: Be true to yourself.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be so busy adapting to others with this match energy stuff.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you'll match energy and become who you are not.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: It takes more effort to go outside of yourself and match someone else's energy.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: Then just being yourself.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now perhaps if being yourself isn't a good match with that, you need to remove yourself from the interaction.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: But as far as you're sticking the interaction out, just so that you can match energy of something that's not naturally how you roll.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't suggest that.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, what about you?
- 35:48[SPEAKER_02]: You got some man.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_02]: This platform should be allowing people to support more.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I had so many conversations with enough conversations about man, where's where's the community like?
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: And the conversation that
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: me in a meaningful way about like, what is the problem letting people support you?
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's the essence of it.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't necessarily say those words, somebody said, well, somebody may have said those words, but it's the, um, assuming how people value platform.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_02]: And, um, it's
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: that I don't value it as I should, as much as I say I do for to not allow somebody to share that value or making a choice was for them, damn.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: I should be doing that.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: So, Patreon is out there.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: There's membership on YouTube that will be other ways
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to be asking for support.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_02]: That's the truncated version.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: I support that with it asking for support and it's not a line in the same.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'll look up sometimes and see a bunch of content from people that I'm not even following because it just keeps serving it to me, but on a certain platform, specifically on YouTube, that matters.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like watch time, Matt, turn the episode on, if you ain't got time, and let it roll.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_02]: Let it play.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: Come back to it if you need to.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_02]: Those are the free things.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, um, I get the time investment, but but also if you got a push play and walk away and come back to us or it's in just you say, but you're watched before us and get to it when you get to it, that is what this platform need to this sponsorships.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: I had conversations in passing now was time.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: Position people to say, yes or no.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_02]: I used to say, position people to say no without a negative way of looking at it.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_02]: Position people to take a position on the platform.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's a real thing.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: That too.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: And why not?
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a reason.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: If not here, then where?
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a reason.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: Don't have a reason.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: So it is that time.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: It is that time.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that's a good, good, positive.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: and call to action, call to action statement, man, and I support it wholeheartedly.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a way harder.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's, it's that time.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like, say, it's legitimately fourth quarter.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: When it's dropped, but.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: No reason not to finish these years strong and all areas.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: All areas mannered my body spirit platform family I love it.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, got something close with that was it that was declosing I'm not going to mark it up.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm putting them behind it.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's the different show.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_01]: Thank y'all for tuning in See you next show peace
