- 0:13Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the Hogrel Energy Podcast.
- 0:17I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is your weekly reminder that it's a
- 0:20new day, a new week, a new mindset, and another day if
- 0:23you become the hotrel energy you want to attract. Happy Tuesday, guys,
- 0:28and happy Halloween. We are officially ending today with Spooky Season. Spooky Season
- 0:35is officially going to be over after tonight, and I'm kind of excited because,
- 0:41let's be honest, I am totally in the mindset of Christmas Gift Guides
- 0:47vlog miss like just so ready to take on the holidays, and I'm like
- 0:52ninety five percent sure I'm decorating for the holidays this weekend, which is kind
- 0:55of crazy. I've never decorated this early before, but because we're heading to
- 0:59New York following weekend, I'd just rather have all the decorations up that way,
- 1:03when I get home, I'm fully in the Christmas spirit, just because
- 1:07by the time I get home, it's going to be basically Black Friday.
- 1:10So yeah, I just want to have my decorations up. And as I
- 1:12said, I'm just fully in the mood to just be holiday ready. I
- 1:17mean Starbucks comes out with their holiday drinks this Thursday already, which is so
- 1:22crazy. And yeah, so I know some people usually wait till after Remembrance
- 1:27Day or usually after their Thanksgiving because for the States, you guys have Thanksgiving
- 1:33during Black Friday, whereas here in Canada we have Thanksgiving in October. So
- 1:37for me, like, there's really nothing to look forward to except Christmas,
- 1:40so we're just jumping right into the holiday spirit. And I do want to
- 1:44ask you guys a question about gift guides, because typically I would do a
- 1:49gift guide on my TikTok and I would provide a Google Docs link that would
- 1:55refer to all the gift guides that'll be making this year. I'm going to
- 1:57be making it earlier this year. That way you guys can ahead of time,
- 2:00especially before the Black Friday sales and all that. But I want to
- 2:04know what kind of gift guides you want to see from me. I will
- 2:06make a question box, hopefully sometime tomorrow on Instagram and just ask for your
- 2:12opinion if you want gift guides for him, for a boyfriend, for your
- 2:16parents, for luxurious items for yourself, all that. So just let me
- 2:21know some ideas you guys want from me, if you guys want more affordable
- 2:24options stocking stuffers. I just really want to do a really good job this
- 2:30year at doing that. I think last year I did a pretty good job,
- 2:31but I do want to be a bit more on top of it this
- 2:36year, so let me know it'd be greatly appreciated. And for blog miss,
- 2:40I have decided to do blog miss on TikTok this year versus YouTube.
- 2:46YouTube was a lot of work, I'm not going to lie, and I
- 2:52personally feel like I've really created more of a log style content on TikTok now,
- 2:57which I've really been enjoying just getting out of my comfort zone and talking
- 3:00more on an iPhone camera versus YouTube. I'm still gonna be posting YouTube videos
- 3:04once a week, it just won't be every single day. However, I
- 3:07will be doing daily vlog miss on TikTok, meaning I'm mostly gonna be posting
- 3:13like morning routines, full day routines all that. So definitely make sure you
- 3:17follow my TikTok if you don't make sure to do so. I am debating
- 3:23on posting a few videos on Instagram reels as well. We shall see you
- 3:28guys, can also let me know if you think I should do that or
- 3:30not. But anyways, just fully China prep for the next few months because
- 3:34this is honestly the busiest time of the month I find for people who work
- 3:38in the social media space, because obviously brands want to work with you during
- 3:40the holiday season and you also want to provide content to people and all that.
- 3:45I have some giveaways coming out as well, which I'm super excited about
- 3:50because I really want to give back to you guys who support me through my
- 3:53social media, through my podcast, through my YouTube videos, everything, like
- 3:55just so grateful for you guys, and I really want to give it back,
- 3:59So definitely stay tuned for that as well. So just a lot of
- 4:01updates going on with the holiday season coming up, and I'm just very very
- 4:05excited. But another thing that is coming up is the new year. We
- 4:11are heading into twenty twenty four in sixty days, which is so crazy.
- 4:15So I thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to record an episode about How to
- 4:20Level Up, how to Glow Up before twenty twenty four, And maybe that
- 4:24means going back to seeing what our vision board was like this year and seeing
- 4:28everything that you've accomplished so far. So we're going to go through some things
- 4:30that you can do to level up before the new year, and how to
- 4:33make sure you accomplish all your goals. Before we get into today's episode,
- 4:38I do want to quickly talk about Halloween, because, as I said,
- 4:40it is Halloween today and I want to know what your plans are for myself.
- 4:45I am having a pretty low key night. Every year, Zach and
- 4:48I like to go to my parents' place and help out with the tricker treaders
- 4:51there. We do not get trigger treaters in my neighborhood. I think it's
- 4:55just because we're still under construction. We're in a very new development, so
- 4:59I just don't think the kids come in our area too often, whereas my
- 5:02parents they get like two hundred and fifty kids. It's ridiculous. And every
- 5:08year before COVID, we used to do a haunted house in my parents' garage
- 5:11and everyone just loved it. We just love Halloween so much. My family,
- 5:15like, we love to spook people out. We love just decorating and
- 5:18all that. It's super fun. So this year we're gonna be doing kind
- 5:21of like a haunted house, but not in the garage. We're gonna make
- 5:25it more of like a dark alleyway to get to the front door. My
- 5:28sister and I are dressing up as creepy dolls with these face masks, and
- 5:32then Zach usually dresses up as like Jason. My dad usually does scream like
- 5:36we just go full out. Oh no, not scream. My dad dresses
- 5:40up as Michael Myers. So and they like walk around with knives. We
- 5:43have like all these crazy statues at my parents' place. So anyway, so
- 5:46try and take some videos and post it on Instagram tonight. But yeah,
- 5:48we basically go follow every year. It's super fun and yeah, and then
- 5:53we'll probably end the night with a horror movie or Michael Myers or something like
- 5:57that, like the Halloween movie. I love to watch horror movies, especially
- 6:00during spooky season. We tried to watch as many spooky movies as we could
- 6:04this past weekend just because I feel like I haven't really had the time with
- 6:08wedding planning and all that. But I think I've watched three horror movies so
- 6:12far going into this new week. But anyways, yeah, I'm hoping to
- 6:15watch one more tonight and then officially get into Christmas mode. If you need
- 6:20any ideas for Halloween tonight, I highly recommend doing a girls' night. My
- 6:27sister and I we did a cute little night where we made cookies. We
- 6:30made this like really good eminem popcorn mix. We made this cocktail called Witch's
- 6:35Potion, which you can search on Pinterest. I always love finding my cocktails
- 6:40there. And then we watched Jennifer's Body, like something super low key like
- 6:44that is so fun. Another idea is painting pumpkins. I love seeing people
- 6:47do that. I think that looks super fun. Painting mugs, carving pumpkins,
- 6:53like just doing something fun with your girlfriends, or even just doing it
- 6:55yourself. You don't have to do it with someone else. It's kind of
- 6:58a cute solo date night for yourself as Well'll maybe order some takeout, watch
- 7:01a scary movie, make some cookies, and just chill Like that sounds like
- 7:04the perfect night to me. Maybe do a face mask, have a bit
- 7:08of a self care night just to make it feel a bit special. So
- 7:12yeah, or even go out for a drink with your friends. Just do
- 7:14something fun celebrating Halloween. I feel like Halloween's bigger in the States. In
- 7:18Canada, versus Europe. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like
- 7:21it's pretty big here versus everywhere else in the world. But yeah, that's
- 7:27all I wanted to say about that. But let's get into today's episode on
- 7:30how to level up before twenty twenty four. Okay, so I think the
- 7:33first one I kind of touched on. But setting the goals you want to
- 7:36achieve for yourself before the end of the year, or reviewing your vision board.
- 7:41If you're someone that created a vision board at the beginning of this year,
- 7:45go you that is amazing. I did that myself. I've done it
- 7:47now for four years. If you don't know what a vision board is,
- 7:50essentially what it is is it's images from Pinterest that essentially create an image of
- 7:55what your goal is. So if you get an image from Pinterest of a
- 7:59plane, let's say that could be a representation of a goal of traveling more
- 8:03so, you put all these images, and all these images have to represent
- 8:07a goal that you wanted to achieve this year. And so I think it's
- 8:11important to that every year, and I think it's important to always check in
- 8:15every few months to see if you're actually achieving those goals. For yourself know
- 8:18that it's okay that if you haven't completed all your goals. I've never completed
- 8:22all my goals on my vision board. I've always tried to achieve fifty to
- 8:26seventy five percent of my goals. Obviously I'd love to hit one hundred percent,
- 8:30but some of them are bigger goals, and I don't think there's anything
- 8:31wrong with that because sometimes bigger goals could take maybe a long period of time.
- 8:37I don't think there's ever too big of a goal to make. I
- 8:39think it's always important to take the risk and just try and make it happen
- 8:43for yourself. Sometimes it takes work to get to that point, right,
- 8:48So one of my goals a few years ago was to become an influencer,
- 8:50and you know, a few years ago I definitely probably thought that's never going
- 8:54to happen. But hard work after multiple years, paid off and now it's
- 8:58my full time thing. Right never say, know, there is so much
- 9:01possibility in terms of setting these big goals for yourself. So I think one
- 9:07thing that you should do is create an action plan on how you're going to
- 9:09achieve all those goals that you set in the beginning of the year that you
- 9:13haven't achieved yet for yourself, making sure you're prioritizing tasks to get to that
- 9:16goal, maybe setting a timeline you want to finish them before the end of
- 9:20the year. Maybe review that plan and remember to celebrate those small wins.
- 9:26Again, small goals are so important to still celebrate. There's still something that
- 9:30you achieved for yourself. You still went out of your way to achieve that
- 9:33for yourself. So anyways, I wanted to highlight that because if you do
- 9:35have a vision board, I do think it's time to review it and see
- 9:39what you can do now to achieve as many of those goals as possible before
- 9:43the end of the year. If you're someone that didn't create a vision board
- 9:46at the end of the year, it's not too late. You can definitely
- 9:48take the time to create a smaller vision board for yourself for the next sixty
- 9:52days and really set goals for yourself that you want to achieve for yourself.
- 9:54I never think it's too late to do something like that. At the end
- 9:58of the day, you are working on yourself and that is so so important
- 10:01that you're doing that for yourself. You're investing in your time and you're trying
- 10:05to make yourself better. You're trying to become this version of yourself that you
- 10:07strive to become. Another thing you're going to do is you're going to find
- 10:11people who motivate you or inspire you. I personally think this is a huge
- 10:15positive when it comes to social media. I love following influencers who motivate me
- 10:22and who inspire me. I personally try to unfollow people that I personally find
- 10:26doesn't make an impact in my life and doesn't create that positive mindset in my
- 10:31life. If there's someone that I follow that I personally find is providing negativity
- 10:35around them or just like negative vibes in general through their social media presence,
- 10:39I will most likely unfollow them because I really want to follow people who inspire
- 10:43me. If you're the kind of person that really needs some motivation to you
- 10:46know, maybe get to the gym, and you don't know how to find
- 10:50that motivation, well maybe it's important to find influencers who go to the gym
- 10:52and create content around going to the gym. This might motivate you to get
- 10:56your butt to the gym. Just an example, if you're feeling unmotivated lately
- 11:01and you don't know how to get to the gym. It might be a
- 11:03good motivational tool to follow someone that films gym content, which allows you to
- 11:09stay motivated. So for me, I really really love to follow influencers who
- 11:11inspire me, especially ones that have similar content to me, because that allows
- 11:16me to always feel inspired and push myself to create the content that I enjoy
- 11:20creating. Pinterest is honestly my best friend when it comes to work. I
- 11:24find that's something that's always very inspirational and motivates me to achieve goals for myself
- 11:31and just things in general. So yeah, I just think it's important to
- 11:35really also have people in your life that might motivate you or inspire you.
- 11:39Okay, Another one is learning a new skill or getting into a new hobby
- 11:43before the end of the year. You guys know that I recently implemented a
- 11:46new hobby into my lifestyle. I mean not a new hobby, but something
- 11:50that I haven't done in a while. I think I mentioned it a few
- 11:54episodes ago, but I have been wanting to get back into soccer. I
- 11:58have not played soccer in I want to say seven eight years. Maybe I
- 12:03stopped when I was in college just to focus on school and I recently got
- 12:07back into it and I have to say that my first game was awesome.
- 12:13It felt so good to be back. The second game was even better.
- 12:16I didn't give you guys an update after my first game. I forgot,
- 12:18but it was so fun to get back on the field. And we went
- 12:22to a soccer dome, so it's not outdoors, just because it's really cold
- 12:24here in Ottawa, and the dome that we play in is the dome I
- 12:28used to plan when I was like fifteen or sixteen years old, which is
- 12:33so crazy. It felt so weird to be back in the same spot that
- 12:35I was literally ten years ago, and more than ten years ago, twelve
- 12:41years ago, and it just felt really really weird, but also kind of
- 12:43felt good to be back at something that I truly enjoy doing. And I'm
- 12:46also playing with a few friends that I used to play with, which is
- 12:50kind of funny. I played against my sister the last game, which was
- 12:52super fun. She beat us, but that's just because they got a lot
- 12:56of young people and my team were a bit older, so it was only
- 13:01two one. But I'm not going to explain the game. But anyways,
- 13:03the point is is that I got back into a hobby and I got out
- 13:07of my comfort zone to get back into it, and it allows me to
- 13:11get out of the house once a week, also be in a social environment,
- 13:13and it's something that I really wanted to do for myself before the end
- 13:16of the year. So if you're someone that wants to learn a new skill
- 13:20or get into a hobby, I highly recommend trying to do that before the
- 13:24end of the year. Learning a new skill could be something that you've been
- 13:28really wanting to do, like maybe painting or maybe a pottery class, like
- 13:31just trying something different. So yeah, okay. Another one is making changes
- 13:37to your daily routine. I personally think that change is always a good thing.
- 13:43If I compare my routine from the beginning of the year to now,
- 13:46I wouldn't say it's like entirely different, but I have made changes in a
- 13:50good way and they're just like the smallesttle things, and I feel like it's
- 13:52always making improvements into my routine, like adding more supplements into my routine.
- 13:58I've started to wake up at five am. I've never used to be a
- 14:01five am girly ever in my life. That's something that I was really challenging
- 14:05myself is something that I actually really enjoy and I feel really really good doing
- 14:09the early morning routines. I've also changed up my breakfast. I used to
- 14:13be that kind of person where I'd eat the same breakfast every single morning.
- 14:16Now I've been including savory breakfasts. I've been changing my breakfasts up every single
- 14:22morning. That is something I would have never done last year. I'm now
- 14:24also taking up spinning. That was something completely new to me this year,
- 14:28just getting into spin classes, doing that twice a week. It's a new
- 14:31cardio workout for me and I absolutely love it. But that was something that
- 14:35I never did in the beginning of the year. So just a lot of
- 14:37things that I've changed. And if you're that kind of person where you might
- 14:41not be a morning person at all and you want to become a morning person,
- 14:43this is the time now to make that goal for yourself and change it
- 14:46up. So for an example, as I said, if you're not a
- 14:48morning person and you want to become one, maybe something you can do is
- 14:52when you set your alarm, set your alarm fifteen minutes earlier then you typically
- 14:56would do that for a few days, then set your alarm thirty minutes earlier
- 15:01than an hour earlier. Just kind of push it each week, and eventually
- 15:05you will start to become a morning person and it will start to become a
- 15:07more consistent routine. So just trying things like that, where you're making changes
- 15:13into your daily routine, changes into your healthy habits, I think is super
- 15:16important. Okay, the next one is write it down. What I mean
- 15:20by this is get yourself a planner, a journal, anything that you can
- 15:24write down everything that you have to do within the day. I talk about
- 15:28this all the time. I don't need to be repetitive about it, but
- 15:31I truly believe in to do lists. And I don't mean it to do
- 15:33list on your phone. I mean it to do list on a planner,
- 15:35physical planner. Writing things down compared to typing on your phone is a complete
- 15:41difference, in my opinion. If I write it down, it will be
- 15:43stuck in my brain and I will remember for the entire day everything that I
- 15:48have to get done for the day. If I write it on my phone,
- 15:50I'm telling you right now, I'm gonna forget about in twenty minutes.
- 15:52It's just there's some type of difference of physically writing stuff down versus having it
- 15:56in your phone. To me, it's just it's a huge game changer and
- 16:00I feel more organized. I feel like if I write everything down, it's
- 16:03just I don't know. It could be a placebo thing where I just think
- 16:06writing things down makes me feel more productive, But I don't know. I
- 16:10feel like people who I've talked to who also write things down on a planner
- 16:12agree that it just sticks to your mind and you just know that you have
- 16:17to achieve all those things for yourself within that day. So that is something
- 16:21I do every single morning, is just write everything out that I have to
- 16:23get done for the day. And I truly believe I get everything done because
- 16:26of me. Writing it in my planner is just something I believe in.
- 16:30And another thing is journaling. I think journaling is obviously super important. I
- 16:34think it's really really key to achieving goals for yourself as well. Even if
- 16:38it's setting a goal for the week, you've written it in your journal every
- 16:42single day. Realistically, it's probably gonna come true because you're setting your mind
- 16:47to it, You're reminding yourself that you need to do this for yourself.
- 16:49So writing everything down, I truly believe makes a huge difference and allows you
- 16:55to work towards something that you really really want to achieve yourself. So you
- 17:00don't have a planner, make sure to get one for the new year.
- 17:02I'm telling you right now, it will change your life. I feel like
- 17:04it's changed my life and I feel so much more organized, so much more
- 17:07productive, and I always always always remember everything I write down, and yeah,
- 17:14I truly just find it makes a difference. Okay, the next one
- 17:15is challenge yourself and try something out of your comfort zone before the end of
- 17:21the year. Maybe you want a career change, maybe you've thought about quitting
- 17:25your nine to five job, maybe it's time to start a business. Challenging
- 17:29yourself is so important. I feel like if you don't challenge yourself, then
- 17:33you're never just going to take that risk. You just have to take the
- 17:36risks sometimes and it's sometimes so worth it. It could be the biggest change
- 17:41for you, and it could be the biggest impact for you. If you
- 17:45haven't challenged yourself at all this year, you need to. It could be
- 17:47the smallest thing, as I said. It could be, you know,
- 17:49becoming a morning person, as I said, it could be quitting your job,
- 17:52it could be maybe texting someone that you have a crush on that you've
- 17:56been wanting to text, like, just take the risk. Another thing is
- 18:00always making your health a priority. You guys know, healthy habits is so
- 18:06important to include in your day to day life. But another thing we need
- 18:10to think about not just you know, working out, drinking water every day,
- 18:15eating healthy all that, we also need to make sure that we are
- 18:18resting. We are booking our appointments, like our doctor's appointment, our dentist
- 18:21appointment. I feel like that's something that I always forget to do, is
- 18:23my wellness appointments. But it's really really important to have those check in appointments
- 18:27and remember that you need to do these things in order to really take care
- 18:32of your health. And another one is enjoying down time and making sure you're
- 18:36getting enough sleep. Sleep is so important. I feel like people underestimate sleep
- 18:41so much, but I truly believe that having enough sleep relies on how your
- 18:45day is going to be throughout the day. Like, if you don't have
- 18:47enough sleep, realisticly, your day's gonna be shit. If you had enough
- 18:49sleep, you're probably gonna have more energy, You're gonna be more motivated,
- 18:52you're gonna be more productive. So I think you really need to reevaluate your
- 18:56sleeping schedule. If you feel you know, low energy, you feel like
- 19:00you can't, you know, stay on top of things or anything like that,
- 19:03maybe it's because it's your sleep schedule. So I think people really need
- 19:07to make sleep a huge priority. And yeah, I feel like that's one
- 19:11thing that people don't think about when they're not feeling one hundred percent if that
- 19:15makes sense, like not feeling themselves. I truly believe that has something to
- 19:18do with your sleep schedules. So anyways, making sure your health is a
- 19:22priority. I mean even in the new year, obviously you want to make
- 19:26that a priority. But if you haven't been making it a priority before the
- 19:30end of the year, I think it's time to definitely make changes and just
- 19:33you know, implementing more healthy habits if you can. Okay, lastly,
- 19:37this is something that I truly believe always helps me out whenever I am in
- 19:41a rut or just in general, starting a new week is always resetting my
- 19:45space, decluttering, organizing spaces that you know you always try to avoid.
- 19:51Last week, Zach and I had three drawers in our kitchen that we have
- 19:56just like completely avoided for like I want to say, like eight months.
- 20:00It's like just was not organized at all, and we finally were like,
- 20:03we need to do this right now. We basically took the time, like
- 20:07an hour of our day just organizing all the drawers that we had to get
- 20:11done. And let me tell you, it felt so good to actually do
- 20:15that, and it makes me want to organize more things in the house.
- 20:18But I think organizing your space and cleaning your space is so important. I
- 20:22always say a clean space means a clearer mind. My mind just feels so
- 20:26much better when things are clean, tidied, organized, And I always find
- 20:30setting a day, usually on my Sundays or my Monday, is just doing
- 20:33a quick little tidy up around the house. It doesn't have to be a
- 20:37big clean every single week. It doesn't have to be like an hour or
- 20:38two hours. It could be a quick tidy up, just putting things where
- 20:42they're supposed to go back to. Trust me, it feels so good.
- 20:45And also it just motivates me throughout the day. If I do that little
- 20:48twenty minute tidy up before my day, I'm okay, what else can I
- 20:52do? Can I do laundry? Can I like I feel more motivated through
- 20:55the day, or even just work related things. I'm like, Okay,
- 20:57what task do I have to get done next. It's like an instant boost
- 21:00of just motivation, I find. So just tidy up your home, declutter,
- 21:06organizer space. If that's something that you've been avoiding, this is your
- 21:08signed to do it now. I'm telling you right now, it's going to
- 21:11feel so good to get it done, especially before the new year as well.
- 21:14If you could start decluttering your space. One thing that I want to
- 21:17do is declutter my closet and get rid of things, donate things, sell
- 21:21things, all that, because I think that's going to feel so good going
- 21:23into the new year with just a fresh slate almost of just like yeah,
- 21:29just everything that I don't need to court right, Like, I just want
- 21:32to get rid of certain things and just keep what I need because I definitely
- 21:37don't need as much as I have in my closet right now and could go
- 21:38to someone who could need it or will use it more than I do.
- 21:42So that's definitely one thing I'm going to make a priority before the end of
- 21:45the year. But those are just some tips on how to level up before
- 21:49twenty twenty four. I definitely have more tips that I want to share that
- 21:52I can do in a later episode as we get closer to the new year.
- 21:56But I thought i'd give you guys some sneak peeks as to what we
- 21:59want to do to become our best self for the new year. So if
