- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Today we're going to get into the identity issue of life.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: But who am I, truly?
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Why is there guilt in my life and the things that I do, even like what Paul was talking about?
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: You know, I want to do right, but yet, you know, like my flesh just, oh man, fights and right.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about Romans, you know.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: But there's no need to have that guilt.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: There's no need to have that shame, right?
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: To know who you are.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: We're gonna get into that.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Today we were gonna take communion, but um, we're gonna go and wait for that another time.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: I want to do it on the 30th episode.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: I want to bring it in with this milestone to me.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Because I honestly, doing this podcast, I didn't think I was gonna go that much further.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: The idea came, didn't know where it was gonna go.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: But by God's grace, I'm here today.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Because if it's so, I'm grateful.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Grateful for the friend that I have, uh, brother, veteran, um, turning this place into a studio and doing all the things that we're doing in the community and things that we want to do in the future.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: And I know that time will happen in God's time, God's grace.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Everything will be there, provision, finance, whatever it takes, to do what we need to do and to be the hands and feet as we're supposed to be.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: But before I get started, let's pray.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And then we're gonna get into who am I and what is guilt.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Heavenly Father, just thank you for this moment.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Thank you for those listening, and thank you for this time that I get to spend talking, speaking, being a vessel that you have created, and I pray that I am faithfully.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Forgive me for the things that I may not be faithful in, or my thought life, or things I may do.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: I repent for that.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: I do pray to be better.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: I pray my heart is changed and clean day by day.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: I pray the same for others that they know that.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: They know these meanings and what it means to serve you.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Open their heart, I pray it's receptive in their mind and their and their eyes, Lord, and to see you for who you are in love and truth, but also seriousness.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: That this walk must be.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: We thank you in Jesus' name.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Your Christ's name, your son's name.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: I want to give you guys like some information too.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: It's been on my heart, too.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: I've been having to restudy, revisit, relearn, so to speak, where things should be, and I'll do more of that as practice or memorization.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: But it's important.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: The Bible, the book, the main book, the only book that we truly only need in this life to guide us to where we need to do and make the decisions we need to make.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: It's life-saving.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: But it's called a Bible bookshelf thing.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: And I want you to share like the Old Testament.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: There's 39 books, mind you, in the Old Testament.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Remember, there's 66, 66 books in the Bible.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: So give you a little history information.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: 66 books total.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Written over 2,000 years, and by 40 different authors.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: And they all lived on 13 like or so different continents, or you know, like different countries.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Like they they're all different places that they lived.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: And I'm telling you how interesting it is that all the words that were written from different places that they were at become the sea scrolls.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: They become some of them call like the Septuagint, and how that was made, and where the old prophets and those that were into that religion, so to speak, or into that way of walk and spiritual walk and truth that God ordained or God spoke into, they wrote manuscripts, and they were buried, and then they were revived.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: And then some wrote the same interpretations in different languages, though, and other countries, and the only ones that were existing at that time, and the only language during that time, too, was Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: So these sayings hold true and fast as things just spread and through history and through time, but to know truth and to know where these books come from, and the storyline behind them and the love that they have that leads up to Christ, the storyline that God is with man and how much God loves man and what toler what he tolerates in life, and the love that he shows us through these struggles and through the ups and downs and choices that man makes, and how he guides us and carries us through with his power.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: Old Testament, 39 books.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: We have the law, the law that was created and made for man.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: First five books is what the Torah, Judaism, right?
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: They read and give homage to in the Mosaic Law.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: The law, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: That's the law.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: And remember when Christ came back, he fulfilled the law.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: And that's the confliction that we have with those in Judaism and Christianity because they do not believe that he is a Messiah.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: History judges Ruth.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, Joshua judges Ruth.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: First and second Samuel, first and second Kings, first and second Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: History of the foundation of Israel.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: History of the Jews.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: How they performed from the law through history.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: And those that were in charge at that time.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Then we come down to poetry.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: That's Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, and Lamentations.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Lamentations lament the repentance of people, the repentance, right?
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: The true lamentation, the true repentance then was like sackcloth, ashes upon you, dirtiness, kneeling, crying, not being worthy, praying and repenting.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: Just like those in Nineveh, but Jonah, right?
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Major prophets.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: The major prophets then were what in the 39 books: Isaiah, Jerobiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Oh, and how Daniel, how wonderful his prophetic dreaming, the things that he went through as a second man towards the king, and also what his brothers went through, Meshach, Shabrak, and Abendigo.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: So to check out.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: The minor prophets, Hosea, Joel, Obadiah, Jonah, which we talked about in Nineveh, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Malachi is very important too to read in his prophecies because he also explains when it talks about in Malachi 3, they ask, Lord, where have we robbed you?
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: And the Lord replied, You rob me with tithes and offerings.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: Give a tenth of your first fruits to my storehouse, so that may be meat in my house.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: All right, and see that I will not pour out a blessing for you so much that you will have not enough room to receive it.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Test me in this.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: For I am the Lord thy God, which is true.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: He is.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: And that is what his request is and command to pay tithes.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: A tenth.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: But then we come to the gospels, and then we come to the New Testament, obviously, right?
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: The New Testament Gospels.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: The New Testament.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: It tells us about, of course, Jesus' birth and life, his ministry, the death, resurrection, explains how the church began, including letters from Paul and other people in those early churches.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: And give John's vision of the end world too in Revelation.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: But with Paul, he made, he basically wrote a third of the Bible.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: And praise God for that and what he is.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: And do history about Paul.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: His first, he was named Saul.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: He worked with those that worked for the law at the time.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: That only believed in the Mosaic law.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: And that they were against Jesus.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: They crucified him, right?
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: Well, Paul, Saul then became Paul.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: He had his experience of becoming Paul.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: You should check that out.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: The Gospels.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Now the remaining books.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: So now we have 27.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: So 39 in the Old Testament, 27 in the New Testament.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: That makes a congregation total of 66 books.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: The Gospels is Mark or Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: Church history is Acts.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: The letters that Paul wrote.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: These letters.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: That's why it's the third, the Bible.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Romans, first and second Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, 1st and 2nd Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Philimon.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: I should say not Philemon, but Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1st and 2nd Peter, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John, Jude.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: And then before after Jude comes prophecy.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: And prophecy is revelation.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Revelation.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: And John, right, when Jesus' disciples was put on the island of Patmos, exiled.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Because let me tell you, the Romans, when they knew about John, and they knew that there were certain survivors, because yeah, James and John, you know, the Sons of Thunder, but James got his head cut off.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Everyone got jailed or exiled, or they were martyred.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: But they tried to kill John.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: They tried poisoning him, boiling him, beating him.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: They did, they did so many things they could not kill him.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: And so they were like, we're going to exile him.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: I need him to be quiet.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: He is causing rhetoric and truth.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: We cannot have that.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: We're going to send him to an island by himself to die.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: And that was his sentence.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And that's where he wrote Revelation.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: And that is where he had his encounter and vision of the end times and the prophecy in Jesus Christ in heaven.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Just like Ezekiel, just like others have had revelation that God has given.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: This one is deeper, and that's why he read that revelation.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Awesome thing to know.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: Happy thought, though.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: Moving on.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: I want you to hear me, those children of God.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: The Beatitudes, the be like.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Happy are the children who know they need Jesus.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: They need me, and he will give them his kingdom.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Happy are the children who are sad and he will comfort them.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Happy are those who are gentle to others.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: He will bless them on earth and in heaven too.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Happy are the children who hunger to be good, because he will fill them up with goodness.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Happy are those who are kind and forgiving, because he will forgive them too.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Happy are those with pure, unpolluted hearts.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: Someday they will see me face to face.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: Remember that.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Think about that before we go to our next topic and subject.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Happy are those who try to stop fights.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: They are just like me.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Happy are those who are mistreated because of me.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: They will be with me always in my in me, in my forever life.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: But yes, the heart.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Unpolluted heart.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: How do we so this is the thing.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: How do we have this unpolluted heart?
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: How do we get rid of it, I should say?
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: How do we get rid of this unpolluted heart?
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Because sometimes that pollution comes by guilt, right?
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Resentment, hardness, anger, sadness, disappointment, frustration, sin.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Oh, shame.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: It stems from it all.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Not having love, having unforgiveness, right?
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: Not being kind.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Doing the opposite of the fruits of the Spirit, which is in Galatians 5.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: But what is guilt, though?
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: We know what guilt is.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: We know what guilt is.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And we all know, we've all been there, right?
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: But biblically, here.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: What is guilt?
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Your sins obviously have paid for you.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: So go and live freely in the joy of salvation.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: Guilt is something which we're familiar with, but it's worth taking the time to stop and ask the question: what is guilt?
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: So when we see the term in English translation of the Bible, we often tend to apply a cultural interpretation to the passage.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: That is, we associate the word guilt with feelings of remorse, depression, rejection, or over something that's in our past.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Scripturally speaking, however, it's primarily a legal term used to denote responsibility as the courts find an offender guilty.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: What does this mean for the believer?
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: We should already know that we've been found guilty.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: Romans 3.23 says, we all have sinned.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: However, Jesus, Christ, took that guilt upon himself at the cross.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: He paid our debt in full.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: If the debt has been paid and we've been released from the charge, then we are no longer guilty.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: We've been declared forgiven.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: The Lord doesn't want us to hide the joy of our salvation beneath a smothering blanket of guilt.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Rather, we are called to rejoice in the glorious redemption that Christ's sacrifice made possible.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: We can joyfully claim the promise of John 8 36.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: So if the Son of Man or the Son makes you free, you will be freed indeed.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: So go and be free.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: That's what they say.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: That's what he says.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: Go and be free.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: And scriptures that back this up.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Romans 5, 6 through 11.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: It says, For we were once or we were still helpless at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: For while we were, we were still helpless.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: For one will hardly die for a righteous man, though perhaps for the good man, someone would dare even die.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Someone would risk their life, right?
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: For someone good.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: So it wasn't like we had to get ready and get right.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Oh now he can die.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: And now accept his death.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: Oh now he can die for us.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no, no.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: The love, do you understand God's divine nature and who he is?
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: God demonstrates his own love towards us.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: And that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us anyway.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Much more than having now been justified by his blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through him.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: Him.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: Not Buddha, not Muhammad, not Confucian, not Joseph Smith.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: Through him.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: For if a while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his son.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: And not only this, but we also exalt in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation, coming, bringing together again to be with him.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: For Romans 3.23, again it says, For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: John 8.36 says, So if the Son man makes you free, you will be freed indeed.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Do we believe that?
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: I hope so.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it's hard to believe that.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Because there is a source of it.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: It reminds me.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: There's things that try to come into my mind when I'm thinking great thoughts and I'm happy and positive and joyful, thinking about all the things that God has done in my life, all the goodness that He's brought into my life.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: And then all of a sudden I get bombarded with, you didn't do this right.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: Look what you did back then.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, you still owe that debt.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: You got to pay them.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: Oh man, your account's gonna be negative, man.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: What are you gonna do now?
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: How are you gonna get that money?
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: What are you gonna do to eat?
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: The list can go on and on, man.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: And then your brain is like, what?
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: And you get just killed, man.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: You know, and then it's kind of like, then I'm like, I'm not trusting in God.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: I'm doing this woe was me thing.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: Now I'm not gonna say that visiting emotions are not bad because in the Bible even says be angry and sin not.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm saying I'm going to I'm going to visit the emotion, even offense.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: I'll visit it, but doesn't mean I rest on that.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: That means that I must be have a change of heart.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: That's what this Christian walks about.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: It's a change of heart.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Change of mindset.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: And that's why the God, that's why our Father God in heaven, Yahweh, tells us, hey, stay in the Bible, read scripture, pray, because that's going to keep your mind focused on the right path, perspective, not the worldly one that confuses you.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: The one that is like this truth, this is what I promise you, this is what I have for you, because I love you.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: Don't listen to the other stuff where there is guilt, where there is shame, where there's like you won't be better enough, maxing all these different new terms.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: You can't get better enough.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: You got to do surgery now.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Oh, now you got to take this pill.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: Oh, now you got to have this many girlfriends.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, the list goes on of sin and vanity.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: That's not of God.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: God's like truth.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: I love you who you are.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: I'm, you know, you're you're precious.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: You're you're I died for you.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: I'm here for you.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Asking you shall be given.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Seek me and I and you'll find me.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: You know, I'll never nothing can separate me from loving you.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: Like, you understand God is is amazing when you get to know his character.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: But if you keep on sinning and keep on living this carnal Christian life of thinking you can still do the things that you did back in the day, but then you're still trying to go to church and do whatever you need to do.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Uh-uh.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: Here's gonna be an issue because now you're disrespecting God because you know the truth, and now you're calling him a liar because you got it, because you can do things your own way, and he doesn't need to help you because you got it all under control.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: But you only need him when you need him because you're just going through something.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: So you gotta pray at that time to get something, right?
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: It's kind of messed up.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: It's kind of like one of the daughters or sons that comes to the house only just to get what they need to get from their parents and they take off.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: But there's no true love in relationship.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: There's hurt and resentment, there's frustration, unforgiveness, right?
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: Coming in.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, what's up, mom dead?
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, can I have this?
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'll talk to you later.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: I love you, son.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: I want to spend time with you.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: I may not have been perfect, but I I'm here now and I love you.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: See, we have to be intimate and intentional, intentionality.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: That's the only way that you can make relationships grow in life if you're intentional.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: You got to spend time with the person and get to know who they are.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Not this boyfriend and girlfriend fake facade delusional thing.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Remember that?
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: Because hey, once you start not only when living with people, but once you become married and then you get to understand somebody, ooh, you get to really understand them.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: And that's a deeper love.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Because can you accept them and when they snore?
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Can you accept them when they, you know, make certain comments?
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: And can you be unoffendable?
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: Can you try?
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: I I try.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: It's very difficult.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Very difficult.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Because I have pride.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: I'm a man.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: I I should like you should listen to me.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: I've done enough in life, like, and I'm old enough.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: Like you, I know things, so be quiet.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: Shh.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: That doesn't work.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: That's not reality.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: And that does not work well, nor am I in nor is this the military.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: So who are you talking to?
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: And rightfully so, my woman has a backbone, so she will say what she needs to.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: But I love the way she does things because she's it takes a lot to get her upset.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: But you don't want to get her upset.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: But what I'm trying to say is that thank God for my wife, because she is a helper.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: And a wonderful helpmate she is.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Faithful.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Our anniversary's coming up, by the way.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: And uh next week, the 30th.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: And gratefully so, because she was the angel that rescued me when I was on the streets of.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Building trying to get my life together, man.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: Went through some hardships and some trauma.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: From a military thing to, you know, previous marriage thing that I was involved in.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Custody thing, you know, life thing.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: My goodness, this woman.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: God used her to pull me out of the fire.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: And I was shocked, man.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: I said, as beautiful as you are, you're willing to do what?
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: When you can get anybody?
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: It's an amazing thing, man.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: God shows himself in ways you just never know.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: You just gotta show up, man.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: You gotta just say no to some stuff, man, and have some self-control, you know.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: That's why he said fruit.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: Because if you don't have fruit, whatever you got, if it does not produce fruit, it's gonna be like withered leaves and branches that do not bear any fruit, and it's gonna be broken off and thrown into the fire.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: That's what he said.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: Figuratively and literally, think about it.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: If you're in this life producing ungodliness that does not grow fruit, because darkness does not grow, you gotta have light to grow things, photosynthesis.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: You need light, water, love, nurturing, food, aid for this to grow.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: You're not gonna get it in darkness.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: So guilt, the source of it.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: There are two forms of guilt.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: One leads us to hiding, whereas the other leads us to repentance.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: And this is coming from 2 Corinthians 7, 9 through 10, which we'll read through.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: And 2 Corinthians 7 through 10.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: But as I go on, researchers have found that when people experience guilt, they commonly report feeling punished, depressed, worthless, rejected, and isolated.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: Ooh, darkness.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: Many describe an overwhelming sense of low self-esteem, no joy, no hope, no vitality.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: It's as though guilt blot out everything else in their life.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: And that's a heavy way to live.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Yet most of us have experienced these emotions at one point or another in life.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: So let's consider one simple question.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: Where does this guilt come from?
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: And we'll read through later with 2 Corinthians 7-10.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: But for now, we see two forms of guilt.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: One is sorrow that comes from God.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: This call to repentance is a tool that the Lord uses to draw unbelievers to himself through salvation in Christ.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: It also motivates believers to confess whatever is disrupting their fellowship with him.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: A second form of guilt plagues people with remorse.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: This sorrow isn't from God at all, but is from the world.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: It leads to paralysis rather than repentance.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: Think about it.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: A second form of guilt plagues people with remorse.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: This sorrow isn't from God.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: Remorse.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: But it's from the world.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: It leads to paralysis, like I said, rather than repentance.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: Instead of drawing us to God or toward God, it drives us into hiding, convincing us we're too far gone to be restored.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: So many people like that.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: I've been that way too before in life.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Like you can't, though.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: That's not truth.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: If you receive Jesus' free gift of salvation, but still struggle under the assault of guilt, you gotta let Scripture assure you that these feelings didn't come from God.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: He holds the keys to your liberation.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: So in Christ, you are forgiven and free.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: But you must believe that.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: You must believe that.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: For you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss anything through us.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: Hear me again, Second Corinthians 7.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, without remorse, leading to salvation.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: But the sorrow of the world produces death.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: That's all the world will give you.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: And we like to believe differently.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: We like to believe differently.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: And how am I able to do that?
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: I'm led by the Holy Spirit, and I'm and then I lead.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: That's what that is.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: That's what I am.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: That's how we all have to be as believers.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: We have to really take a look at ourselves, be still, which I know is hard for me.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: I don't like being still.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: My wife drives her crazy.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: She's like, Can you be still?
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, man, I, you know, and that's where I really start to find things about myself.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I don't want to deal with myself.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: You got to, though.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: And I'm thankful I have my wife's in my life because like she points stuff out.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: And I really will respect her more than anything.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: And there's some friends, of course, you know, people that will give me advice and you like respect what they have to say.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: And thank you.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: And those that are listening, I love y'all, those that I know.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: But sometimes it's like, I don't want to hear anything they have to say, and I don't really believe what you have to say.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: I'll believe half what you have to say, just being honest.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: And then I'm like, but if my wife, yeah, that's a little different.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: And then I see how the Holy Spirit speaks through her.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: Virtuous woman.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: That's what I pray for, and that's what I pray for.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: And men that are listening, I have a woman that that's what you must do.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: You continually pray into her and pray for her and pray with her.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: That's the most intimate thing you can do as well with your wife.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: Um, intimacy, sex, so to speak.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: That should not be withheld from each other.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: 1 Corinthians 7 explains that.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Like you, those are the things that you should not do.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: And women, we should not use that as a weapon.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: That is not okay.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: And men, the same.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: God has given us over to those things together as husband and wife, one flesh.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: And when we do things and do not defile the marriage bed, but when we do things and come together, that is worship to the Lord.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: And that is glorious because he created those things.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: And we're supposed to enjoy and embrace those things together and restore whatever we need to spiritually and physically.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: Because the world's going to try to pull us apart.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: The world's going to try to have us do it our own way.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: And then try to plant seeds of darkness, plant seeds of lust, plant seeds of ungodliness into a thing that's meant to be beautiful, not defiled.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: So just please understand that there's an order and peace of things when it comes to God.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: When it comes to Christianity, the true Christianity, which, mind you, is non-denominational because Christ came as Christ.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: He didn't say, I'm Lutheran, serve the Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: He didn't say that.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: He said he came down to serve.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: And he says, if you see me, you see the Father.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: He said, we had to be like him.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: Be like children, right?
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: You know how children are when they see new things?
- 30:01unknown: Excited.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, when I was a kid, I went to solid Disneyland for the first time.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, Disneyland.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: No, never.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: I won't support them now.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: But when I was a child, wow.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: Beautiful feeling.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: That is the same thing when it comes to like the kingdom of heaven.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: Just the thought of like, what are it's going to be like?
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: And if this is true, and if this is really like what they say it is, because I don't know if it is or not, right?
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: People think, I don't know.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: You know, but the Lord shows them every day.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: But like, I just I don't know.
- 30:35SPEAKER_00: Just like Gideon, ah, just show me a little bit more, Lord.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: Can you just can you do this?
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Just trust God because you've seen the fruits of your life, and understand there is a God that he loves you.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: So maintain that.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Maintain that promise of truth.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: If you have to remind yourself of things that he's done for you, then do so.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: Whatever you have to do, post it somewhere, write it down, take pictures.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: But just know, man, like look at all the things that he's done.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: And if we're not doing things that we should be doing, then thank God that he's correcting you.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: Because you're his children.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: That's what he calls.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: You know, you're not illegitimate.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: You're truly his, and you have an inheritance.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: We all make mistakes.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: We all make choices in life that we shouldn't, and we're gonna have to pay for that.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: We're gonna have to answer to certain things.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I do respect God, and I need to be better, and my heart needs to be better because sometimes there's ugliness in me, and I don't realize it and I have that.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: And it may stem from guilt.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: I gotta know who I am, though.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: Who am I?
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: I'm a child of the most high.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: I am loved, and nothing can separate me from his love.
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: Nothing can.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: No principality, no demon, no angel.
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: Nothing can separate me from the love of God through Christ.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: And it's him.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Jesus is God, people.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: I know we keep on talking all these weird formalities, but they are three in one.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: Father, son, Holy Spirit.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: Blows your mind, I know.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: But he is.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: Because remember, he said, if you see me, you see the Father.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: Me and the Father one.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: That's how I relate to you.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, wait a minute.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: Because if if God came down immediately, because he you you see how God has made himself.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: Like he's either told Moses to hide in a mountain, you can see behind me in my glory or a bush or some type of element, right?
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: And the ark, yeah, mind you, is just tablets in his breath.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: Mind you, if you weren't right, you would die.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: And if God came down, you would evaporate his power.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: So he comes through in flesh because he loves us so much.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: Let me relate with you.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: Kind of like that individual that, like, I know one of y'all have had a friend that would never like not leave you alone.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: Always want to come around.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: Always want to come over.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: Always want to do this with you.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: Never want to stop being around you.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: And you and you'd be like, oh, dude.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: And you know, and I had that in a season of my life.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: And God bless whoever he where he's at, man.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: He was such a cool dude.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: But there's other people in life like have been like that.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: Like, hey, I want to hang out with you, man.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: I just want to be around you.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: You know, that's God, man.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: He's not like the irking, like, uh, he's cool.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: Like, he's like, hey, man, I love y'all.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: Like, I created y'all.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: So, hey, I just want to like hang out with y'all.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: But, but I gotta tell you, you know, you can't live like this though.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: Cause that's gonna actually not make us cool friends.
- 33:51SPEAKER_00: Because I want to show you some cool stuff I can do for you.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna show you some cool things that you're just gonna blow your mind and you're gonna be like, wow, this is what it is.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: It, this is it.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: And it's gonna be forever.
- 34:01SPEAKER_00: But there's terms and conditions, man, because I, you know, I'm so holy that I can't go this other route.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: Because when I do, if if you do, if you do, well then my dad says, I I gotta I gotta go the other way.
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: I gotta turn my back.
- 34:17SPEAKER_00: Because he doesn't want me to even look upon what sin is because it's so dirty and ugly and against him.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: So I have to respect my dad.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: But hey, listen, if you don't want to do that stuff, I'll show you another way it's even better.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: It'll beat that.
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: I guarantee it.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: Just trust me and come with me, man.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: It's cool, it's gonna be okay.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: I'll love here.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: But I don't need to force you.
- 34:45SPEAKER_00: Like, that's what he does.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: He's such a gentleman.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: He's like, I'm not gonna do it.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna jump in down 20 times, give you a million dollars, and come with me.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: No.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: You gotta take a chance, man, just like you do in everything else in this life.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: You take a chance with your resume, you take a chance driving outside and walking down the street, man.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: And no matter where you're at, whoever's listening, wherever you are, yeah, you take a chance and walk down the waters, man, and get eaten up.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: Like this life is not guaranteed.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: So I want to have you take things in a different perspective in this life, okay?
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: And I want you to really, sincerely pray with me in this prayer before we close.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna pray this prayer with you.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: So please, if anyone listening that's like really needs this, I just pray you hear me.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: Lord Jesus, thank you for this moment.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: I sincerely come to you.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: I have sinned, I have done wrong in this life.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: According to your word, according to Psalm 51, like as David spoke, I I pray that what he said is this that create in me a clean heart and a steadfast spirit.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: I pray that you re you remove my sin as far as the east is from the west.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: And though I may not be perfect, I pray that I always give you respect and that I grow in you.
- 36:12SPEAKER_00: That you change my heart, that you renew my mind, that you help me and never give up on me.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: Forgive me of my sins and my ways.
- 36:25SPEAKER_00: I do repent and show me how to walk repentance out and how that looks in serving you.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: Let your will be done.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: It's in Christ's name, your son's name.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: Yeshua, Jesus.
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: I say this.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: And again, my website my uh email, the bread of life with jj at gmail.com, the bread of life with jj at gmail.com.
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: Questions, concerns, prayer, like just reach out.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: We'll be more than glad to um get back to you.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: But I do appreciate you guys tuning in and listening, hearing the word, um, things that are dear to my heart, things that I uh, you know, I read upon, I listen, I paraphrase at times, or I will get motivated after listening to their sermon or whatever that may look like.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: But it's all my heart.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: And I put that together and I present it to you.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: So I appreciate you all listening in and taking heed to that.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: It means a lot.
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: And I and then, you know, it's what I'm supposed to do.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'm grateful for it.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: God gives me grace for it.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: I do miss my family, I love being around them.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: But they they love me too enough to where they're like, hey, I know my dad, my husband, I know my man.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: Hey, he has he has to do what he has to do, and we're here waiting for him.
- 37:49SPEAKER_00: And I'm grateful for that and for them and their support.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: So anytime they're listening, my boys, my daughter, my wife, I love you.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: Kisses to you.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: You are wonderful, beautifully made.
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: And I'm so grateful to have you all in my life.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: Wouldn't change anything in the world.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: And also, my listeners, I love y'all.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: I appreciate you guys listening in.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: Take heed to the word, pray about it.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: My way is not the way, um, it's a way, but I know.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: Also, I forgot, just got reminded about JJ at B-O-L and Soul on X.
