- 0:07Speaker 1: Nineteen ninety five Supergrass. All right, okay, time to move
- 0:16Speaker 1: on once again. Now. A couple of weeks ago we
- 0:19Speaker 1: had a brother and two sisters in Martin Chandler and
- 0:23Speaker 1: his two sisters, Angie and Kirsty, and they came in
- 0:26Speaker 1: and told us about how they were going to look
- 0:28Speaker 1: forward to running the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Well it
- 0:32Speaker 1: all happened last Sunday. It looked like it was a
- 0:34Speaker 1: fantastically sunny day up in London judging by the pictures,
- 0:38Speaker 1: and they all completed it perfectly, all came back in
- 0:42Speaker 1: one piece. Now. They were raising money for Evelina Children's
- 0:47Speaker 1: Charities and they set themselves a target of one thousand
- 0:50Speaker 1: and fifty pound and the last time I looked they'd
- 0:53Speaker 1: raised one thousand, three hundred and thirty four pounds, So
- 0:57Speaker 1: well done to U three And judging from their pictures
- 1:01Speaker 1: actually on the social media, they had a fantastic day.
- 1:05Speaker 1: There's some great pictures of them running around and there's
- 1:08Speaker 1: a sort of a cheer station where they meet their family,
- 1:11Speaker 1: you know, And it's so if ever you've been to
- 1:14Speaker 1: the London Marathon and you meet someone that's either a
- 1:17Speaker 1: family member or really close friend. It really is uplifting.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It does. The runners are worlder grid and they are
- 1:24Speaker 1: a shining example actually for someone that if you like,
- 1:27Speaker 1: steps outside the box and does something. I mean, Martin's
- 1:30Speaker 1: done it before, but the two sisters Angie and Kirsty
- 1:33Speaker 1: had never run that far before. They trained hard, they
- 1:36Speaker 1: had a great day and I'll bet you they'll be
- 1:38Speaker 1: back right now. Also the London landmarks for folks and
- 1:42Speaker 1: running an athletic club were Marie Brazier and Joseph Carroll.
- 1:46Speaker 1: But special mention must go to Rob Collier who out
- 1:49Speaker 1: of six hundred and twenty seven runners in his age category,
- 1:52Speaker 1: he came first in the age category. That is brilliant.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So we un to you Rope, don't forget there was
- 1:57Speaker 1: eighteen thousand runners took part. Two South Kent runners sorry,
- 2:02Speaker 1: two south Kent Harriers runners also took part. Louise Hall
- 2:06Speaker 1: recovering from an injury and was very proud of herself
- 2:10Speaker 1: and Steve Waite loved it. Taken in the sights of
- 2:13Speaker 1: London well and just turn the page, Suld probably hear it.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Folks are running and athletic club members were also at
- 2:21Speaker 1: the Brighton Marathon. Ramjit Turmain was first home for the club,
- 2:25Speaker 1: followed by Tom aspinall in a pb time and he
- 2:28Speaker 1: raised one thousand pound for the Rising Sun Charity, a
- 2:31Speaker 1: charity for which is striving to end domestic abuse. Joining
- 2:37Speaker 1: Tom were Greg Dixon, Para Gurum, Phil Haynes, Jason King,
- 2:41Speaker 1: Rosie Smison and Rachel Smith and my other half Missus
- 2:45Speaker 1: Ferret Sue Elkins. She went up there with Margaret Whittam
- 2:48Speaker 1: to watch and support everybody. They got up early and
- 2:51Speaker 1: they caught They took the car, took the train and
- 2:54Speaker 1: they came back. They were buzzing. They had a brilliant
- 2:57Speaker 1: day and they saw everybody. Meanwhile, in Milan, Paul Bartley
- 3:01Speaker 1: run a pebe a sub three hour marathon and Pam
- 3:04Speaker 1: Allen just missed the chance. It was a second fasted time.
- 3:07Speaker 1: She just missed the chance of going sub four now.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Whilst in Miland Pam's husband Clive he ran the Milan
- 3:13Speaker 1: Nord Park Run, whilst other runners found a park run
- 3:17Speaker 1: at the following venues, the local ones Ashford and Dover.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Somebody went to Newark in Nottinghamshire. There was runners that
- 3:25Speaker 1: went to Brockenhurst in the New Forest, Dullach in Southeast London,
- 3:29Speaker 1: South Norwood in London, tour bay Vellow Park which is
- 3:33Speaker 1: down near Torquay and if you're doing the eight Z
- 3:36Speaker 1: head of park runs. Kay Evans went to Zieda Park
- 3:39Speaker 1: in Holland. Then once again I popped along to the
- 3:42Speaker 1: Redne Park Junior park Run where one hundred and five
- 3:45Speaker 1: juniors took part, fourteen first timers, twenty seven pbs and
- 3:50Speaker 1: twenty three volunteers. It was a happy sad day for
- 3:54Speaker 1: one junior, Guy Slingsby, because it was his last park
- 3:58Speaker 1: run as a junior. He's now turns fifteen and he's
- 4:02Speaker 1: class as a senior so he can't join in now.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Guy has dominated the juniors in recent times, but he's
- 4:09Speaker 1: also won the senior part park run in the past
- 4:12Speaker 1: and he's a very exciting prospect. Believe me. The volunteers
- 4:15Speaker 1: made a special thank you. This was so funny, have
- 4:18Speaker 1: a look at it on my Facebook page. They all
- 4:21Speaker 1: put on their Guy Slingsby look like masks and gave
- 4:24Speaker 1: him a round of applause and his fellow runners awarded
- 4:27Speaker 1: him a memento. Now, Guy, not only he doesn't only run,
- 4:32Speaker 1: you know, but when he finishes, because he's the first
- 4:34Speaker 1: one back. He can often be seen at the finish
- 4:36Speaker 1: line helping out and bringing in the bar codes and
- 4:39Speaker 1: things like that. So I'm hoping I spoke to his
- 4:43Speaker 1: mum and I'm hoping to get hold of Pat Hannis
- 4:46Speaker 1: from the Folks and Running Club and see if we
- 4:49Speaker 1: can get Guy in with his mum and we do
- 4:51Speaker 1: a little special on the Folks and the Youth because
- 4:55Speaker 1: of the track that is getting bigger and bigger. Now
- 4:58Speaker 1: this is in the playlist. It's a song that came
- 5:01Speaker 1: from really made famous by originally by the Trugs. It
- 5:06Speaker 1: came to famous the second time around in the film
- 5:08Speaker 1: Four Weddings and the Funeral. We're going to play that version,
- 5:11Speaker 1: but you know it's one of those songs that is
- 5:13Speaker 1: the cover version better or is the original better. I'll
- 5:16Speaker 1: leave it up to you. They decided this is wet, wet, wet,
- 5:19Speaker 1: and love is all around, wet, wet, wet, their love
- 5:41Speaker 1: is all around from the film Four Weddings of the Funeral.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I respect some of you out there don't even remember
- 5:47Speaker 1: the Trugs. The show My age. Now, okay, now there's
- 5:51Speaker 1: a little bit running that I just missed off. It
- 5:53Speaker 1: was on another page believe it or not about the
- 5:56Speaker 1: Brighton and Marathon because five South Kent Harriers went to
- 5:59Speaker 1: bright And for the marathon and all finished successfully. So
- 6:03Speaker 1: well dones go to John Sweeney on his first ever marathon,
- 6:06Speaker 1: John and Erica Ford Fortuna for finishing, Kieran Pilcher and
- 6:10Speaker 1: Ili and Titel. Now. John Sweeney said that it was
- 6:14Speaker 1: hot and windy which made running a challenge, but an
- 6:16Speaker 1: amazing day, lots of support and guess what, he wants
- 6:19Speaker 1: to go back and do it again.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Now.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I dug this one out of the playlist because it
- 6:24Speaker 1: did make me chuckle. This one, this one especially, this
- 6:27Speaker 1: song is for Paul Barlett, Catharine O'Connor, Pam and Clive Allen.
- 6:32Speaker 1: They all went to Milan and guess what. They're too
- 6:37Speaker 1: sexy for Milan.
- 6:38Speaker 2: For my love, too sexy for my love, Love's going
- 6:42Speaker 2: to leave I'm too sexy boy, my shirt too sexy boy,
- 6:57Speaker 2: My shirt so sexy it hurts, and I am too
- 7:02Speaker 2: sexty Bon Milan, tro sexty bon Milane, your ganger, My
- 7:09Speaker 2: love loves going to leave.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Me sixty sixty song, Well, that one was there was
- 7:17Speaker 1: for the four people that spent the weekend in Milan,
- 7:21Speaker 1: running around the town. That was for Paul Bartlett, Catherine O'Conner,
- 7:25Speaker 1: Pam mcclive, Allen and there to sixty four Milan. So okay, right,
- 7:30Speaker 1: that's enough for that. Moving on here
